What's up, everyone? And welcome to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up where we left off with Doug Band and his interview with Congress. Mr. Grant. Mr. Burleson. Mr. Burleson. Asking the questions now. Mr. Band, who is Mark Middleton? Mr. Band? I'm sorry, I don't know who that is. Mr. Burleson, you worked in the White House, correct? Band? Yes, sir. Burleson. Mark Clinton. You don't recall a gentleman named Mark Middleton working for the Clintons? Band I mean, I vaguely remember the name, but I don't know who Mark Middleton is. So even in all this reporting, you haven't heard the name Mark Middleton? When Epstein visited The White House 17 times, most of those visits were with a Mark Middleton? Band. I don't recall knowing who that is. You. You know, again, a vague recollection of the name. Burleson. It's not. The West Wing is not a huge office complex. Shapiro. He wasn't there at the time, as he just testified. Mr. Burleson. Mr. Middleton. And so in your knowledge, in your relationship with the Clintons, the name never came up? Band. I didn't say the name never came up. I just said I don't remember who that is or recall who that was. Mr. Burleson. Thank you. I don't have any other questions. Mr. Harness is once again asking the questions. Question, Mr. Band, in 2005, police in Palm Beach, Florida, began investigating Mr. Epstein. In July of 2006, Mr. Epstein was arrested for the first time for soliciting prostitution from minors. When did you first learn of Jeffrey Epstein's 2006 arrest? Answer. I don't recall when I first learned of it. Question. Do you know how you might have first learned about this? Through news reporting? I don't want to speculate because I don't remember, but I assume through news reporting. But I don't remember anything specific about learning of it. Mr. Grant. And you would have learned of it at the time or somewhere around the time? Banned? I don't know, but yeah, I believe it was probably reading news reports. Yes. And when did you become aware that Mr. Epstein served jail time beginning in 2008? I don't recall when I became aware of that. Again, I didn't really have a relationship with him. But you did become aware of his arrest and jail time? I remember being aware of it. I don't recall when I became aware of it. Did you ever discuss the arrest or jail time with Mr. Epstein with anyone at the time? Not that I recall. Grant, do you know who would have made you aware of his arrest and subsequent time incarcerated? Banned? As I said, no. I just don't remember when who, anything. Question after learning about the initial arrest of Mr. Epstein, did you have any concerns about this? I don't recall having concerns or not concerns. He wasn't someone that I knew or engaged with frequently. And again, I don't remember whether he was part of a friend of President Clinton or not at that point. But no, I don't remember having any Question. But you and respectively President Clinton did have a relationship with him when you learned about this? I'm just asking if you were concerned at all about your relationship and then now this arrest, did you have any concerns at that time about this? Answer well, as I said, as it relates to me, I had very limited relationship with him. I don't remember having concerns or not having concerns. Question when did you find out about the 2008 non prosecution agreement with Mr. Epstein? I don't remember. I have no idea. I don't recall when I learned of it. What was your understanding of what Mr. Epstein had admitted to or been convicted of? I don't remember. Or recall what he admitted to or had been convicted of? Question and when did you become aware of Mr. Epstein's status as a sex offender? I don't remember when. Question Mr. Band, have you ever been contacted by law enforcement entity in regard to Mr. Epstein or or Ms. Maxwell? Answer no. Question with the benefit of hindsight, were there things that you witnessed or observed about Mr. Epstein or Ms. Maxwell that could have suggested they were trafficking and sexually abusing young women or girls? Answer no. Question did Mr. Epstein or Ms. Maxwell ever attempt to blackmail you? Answer no Question did they ever try to threaten you? Answer no Question so they did not threaten to expose any personal information that you may have had? Answer no. Question do you think that Ms. Maxwell was using you in order to get closer to President Clinton or any other member of the Clinton family? Answer I have no idea. I don't know. Question Looking back Now, do you have any concerns that you thought Ms. Maxwell may have been trying to use your relationship with the Clintons in order to get closer to the family? Answer. As I've said, I don't know. You'd have to ask her. I mean, I don't know. Why do you think Ms. Maxwell wanted to get close to you, Wanted to build a relationship with you? I have no idea. Question. And emails, a lot of which we have discussed and looked at today. Seems that Ms. Maxwell always wanted to do something or provide something for you. Do you know why this was? No, I don't. Question. Do you think it was just her attempt to get close to a powerful, connected people? Answer. You know, as I said, I don't know. I guess it's possible. Sure. Questioned throughout the investigation, it seems that Mr. Epstein and Ms. Maxwell would try to exert knowledge of people's personal information in order to curry favor with powerful figures across the globe. Looking back, were there any signs that Ms. Maxwell or Mr. Epstein used your relationship in order to curry favor with powerful figures that you knew? No. I just want to jump back to the 2002 Africa trip. It's reported that Redacted gave President Clinton a neck massage. Do you recall this? No, I do not. Questions. So you had no knowledge at the time of President Clinton receiving a massage from Redacted? No. Question. Have you ever seen the photo of Redacted providing President Clinton the massage? I've seen the photo as it came out recently or in the last year or two outside of preparation for this interview. When was the last time you saw the photo? When it became public. And you did not receive any massage on this trip in 2002? I didn't receive any massage on this trip or ever. So you've never received a massage before, ever in your life? I've had one massage. It was a couple's massage with my wife. That I recall. That's it. Were you familiar with any of the massage therapists that were hired or used to travel with or hung out with Glenn Maxwell or Jeffrey Epstein? Mr. Ben. No, ma'. Am. Mr. Harness, asking the questions now. Question. I know that I've asked you about the Vanity Fair article where it stated that you had bad vibes from the trip. Was Ron Burkel on the trip to Africa? Answer. No question. Was he not on this trip? Answer. Not that I recall. No question. We have flight logs showing that Mr. Burkle was on that 2002 trip to Africa. Did you not interrupt, interact with Mr. Burkle? Answer. I just don't As I said earlier, I don't recall the trip. I don't recall him being there. Question. Mr. Burkle had a pretty bad experience. He caught a pretty bad vibe as well, as you call it, or as you stated to Vanity Fair. But you have no knowledge, Mr. Burkle, ever having a creepy or odd feeling about Mr. Epstein? Answer. Not that I recall, no. Mr. Grant, did you discuss Mr. Epstein with Mr. Burkle at any point? Mr. Band? No, not that I. I don't recall discussing it with him. Possible, but I don't remember it. Grant. And same question for Ms. Maxwell. Did you discuss Ms. Maxwell with Mr. Burkle at any point? Mr. Band? Again, it's possible, but I don't recall discussing it, no.

Question. Jumping around, did Ms. Maxwell ever offer to lend you a private plane or any private aircraft that she owned for you to watch the 2006 NCAA Men's Basketball Finals? Answer. I don't remember the specifics of that. In preparation for today, I recall reading the email where there was back and forth, and I was asking her to charter a plane, and she offered again, as best as I can recall, without looking at the email. And I said something to the effect that if I can't pay for it, then I'm not going to take it, which I didn't. Question. So you declined Ms. Maxwell's offer based on those emails that I've read in preparation for today, yes, I declined her offer, and I did not take the plane. Question. Why do you think Ms. Maxwell offered you this plane? I don't know. You'd have to ask Ms. Maxwell. Emmer, did you recall receiving any other offers to fly on Mr. Epstein's plane? Ben? Again, it's possible, but I don't recall any. No. Did you have any role in the White House Historical association during your time in the Clinton administration? No, I don't believe so. So you did not attend any White House Historical association events? I wouldn't have attended any on my own or been part of them on my own. I was a staffer. If President Clinton went to something and I accompanied him, staffing him, then I guess it's possible. But I don't recall anything or having any involvement with them whatsoever. I don't even know where they are housed or operate or anything. Question Were you aware of Mr. Epstein's $10,000 donation to the White House Historical Association? Answer no. Question. Touching a little bit on the Clinton Global Initiative? When did you cease employment at the Clinton Global Initiative? Answer well, I never worked for the Clinton Global Initiative. I worked for President Clinton and his personal office. The Clinton Global Initiative was one of the things and as I said, my best recollection is that I left in the first half of 2012. Question 2012 so how many Clinton Global Initiative conferences would you say that you attended during this time of work? You know, I don't remember all of them. I guess if it started in 2005 and then ended in 2012, I went to all of those and it's possible I went after Mr. Shapiro. You left in 2012? Band left entirely. Mr. Shapiro. It didn't end. Mr. Band. Correct. Sorry. I left in 2012. CGI kept going. I may have attended one or two afterward. I don't really remember. Question I believe my colleague in the previous hour touched upon Ms. Maxwell's involvement with CGI and the Clinton Foundation. Is that correct? Did you take part in any budget discussion with Ms. Maxwell? I regarding the Clinton foundation or CGI? Answer no, not that I recall. Question Are you aware of any donation made to the Clinton foundation or CGI from Ms. Maxwell or Mr. Epstein? Answer, you know, again, I wasn't aware of it at the time, but in preparation today, having seen the emails, it seems as though she was. I don't recall having anything to do with her being a part of it at all. Question Did Ms. Maxwell ever have a close relationship with anybody else inside the Clinton foundation or the Clinton Global Initiative? Mr. Shapiro? Other than Mr. Band? You mean Mr. Harice? Other than Mr. Band? Doug Band? I don't know. I mean, she could have had relationships with lots of people. I don't know. Question. So you never had a conversation with other Clinton foundation staffers, anybody working at CGI about Ms. Maxwell? Mr. Band, I don't recall having conversations. It's certainly possible. I just don't recall having them. Question so, Mr. Band, I just want to make sure I have the timeline that's clear. For the record, I believe in your opening statement you mentioned you sent a memo or a notice throughout the Clinton world basically to cease their connections with Ms. Maxwell, is that correct? Answer. I sent the email to senior members of the staff to remove her from all contact lists, which was an attempt to remove her from President Clinton's world entirely? Yes. And that was in 2011? Yes, sir. And then you subsequently stopped working for President Clinton by extension of that, the foundation and CGI in 2012? You said sometime in 2012? Again, just to be clear, I never work for CGI. Question. Understood. And are you aware that Ms. Maxwell attended a CGI event and was honored in 2013? I'm only aware of it as it relates to having seen the reporting on it some point in the past few years. Question. You were not aware of that in 2013? Answer. I did not work there in 2013. Question. You didn't keep up with CGI and the work that you had helped start? Answer. No. Question. Does this concern you now, looking back, that she was able to recognize or be recognized at a cgi event in 2013 after you had tried to remove her from the Clinton orbit? Well, again, all I can tell you is that I took the step to write an email to have her removed from all the lists and therefore removed from the Clinton world. What happened after that is not I didn't have anything to do with it, so I don't know. Question Understood. But I mean, it's a big step to take to remove somebody from the Clinton orbit and have them not be involved anymore. This was work that I would say you were intimately involved with. So knowing that what you know now looking back that she was honored in 2013, is that not disturbing to you? Answer. You know, again, all of their activities are incredibly disturbing and horrific and evil to me. But I again, I left in 2012. So her involvement in what was going on then and what decisions they made, I wasn't part of. I didn't have anything to do with it. So I really don't know. Mr. Shapiro, just for the clarity of the record, I think you used they and their in two different ways. All of their behavior was evil. The there the there in the sentence was banned. Epstein and Maxwell Shapiro. Okay, banned. Sorry. Thank you, Counselor. Question. Do you have any knowledge of Ms. Maxwell or Mr. Epstein ever sending a gift to President Clinton? Answer. I don't have any knowledge or recall them ever doing that again. It's possible. I just don't remember. All right, folks, we're going to wrap up right here.
