And this time we're going to take a look at the inmate investigative report that's dealing with Jeffrey Epstein and Nicholas Tartaglioni. Inmate Epstein was breathing heavily, however appeared to be responsive. Inmate Epstein was directed by the staff to stand up and submit to restraints. Inmate Epstein would not stand up on his own and would not comply with staff directives. Staff entered the cell and placed inmate Epstein in both hand and leg restraints. Inmate Epstein was searched, metal detected, placed on a gurney and escorted from the scene without further incident. Inmate Epstein was photographed, medically examined, and determined to have sustained a circular line of arrhythmia at the base of his neck and friction marks on the front of his neck and a small 2cm arrhythmia on the left knee. Inmate Epstein was placed on suicide watch with all necessary notifications made. There was no staff injuries reported. That's when he realized the snoring was coming from him. Epstein alleged that his cellmate Tartaglioni was on the floor sleeping at the time. Epstein stated that he never had any issues with Tartaglioni. He is not threatened by Tartaglioni and he do not want to make up something that isn't there. Additionally, Epstein stated he can recall an incident that occurred two days prior when Tartaglioni went out to court and when Tartaglioni returned he was upset. Epstein stated he attempted to talk to Tartaglioni and Tartaglioni called him a pedophile. Epstein also stated he knew Tartaglioni was upset and let him cool off. Epstein stated he does not have any issue with Tartaglioni and he feels safe being housed with Tartaglioni. Epstein stated he does not feel suicidal, he has a new cellmate whom he gets along with and he's able to sleep now that he has his CPAP machine. Epstein stated if he remembered any more details he he would reach out to staff for Psychology 7 31, 2019 10:00am Nicholas Tartaglioni On July 31, 2019 at approximately 10:00am In May, Tartaglione Nicholas was interviewed in the Special Housing unit. During the interview, Tartaglioni stated he was asleep on the floor inside his cell. His head was covered with the sheet and he had his headphones in his ear when he felt something hit his foot. Tartaglioni stated when he uncovered his head, he observed Epstein sitting on the floor in the corner with his eyes open. Tartaglioni stated he began to call Epstein's name and when Epstein did not answer he began to bang on the door for an officer. Tartaglioni stated he thought Epstein was having a heart attack because his eyes was open and he appeared to be snoring. Tara Taglioni stated he does not have any issues being housed with Epstein, although he keeps his conversation to a minimal. Tartaglioni stated he does not understand Epstein's motive and what he was trying to do. Tartaglioni stated previously during one of their conversations, Epstein made him uncomfortable when Epstein stated 14 is legal in most states and I don't understand what the problem is here. Additionally, Tartaglioni stated Epstein normally paces the cell and complains about his attorneys not doing their job and that he needs to fire them. Tartaglioni stated he does not have any issue being housed with Epstein. However, he does not want to be involved with any plots Epstein has in mind in order to try and get released. No information was found for the given criteria. On July 23, 2019, staff wrote Epstein an incident report for code 228 self mutilation. On July 23, 2019, medical assessment was conducted on inmate Epstein by MLP during the assessment, Epstein was identified with a circular line of erythema at the base of his neck reaching 2/3 of the neck circumference 2 inches wide spanning the back of his neck. Additionally, one section in the front has marks of friction and Epstein was observed mark on the left knee about 2 cm in diameter. During the assessment, Epstein denied any respiratory problems and Epstein denied any pain or discomfort. On July 23, 2019, at approximately 1:27am Operations Lieutenant submitted a memorandum which indicated the house center officer requested assistance in the special housing unit. Upon entering a special housing unit, staff made notification that Epstein was observed lying in a fetal position on the floor. Epstein was removed from the special housing unit and escorted to health services area. As a result of the threat assessment being conducted on A medical assessment was conducted on inmate Tartaglioni and Tartaglioni was not identified with any injuries. Based on the information received throughout the course of the investigation, there is insufficient evidence to support Epstein was assaulted by Tartaglioni. Additionally, based on the fact that during the interview with SIS staff, Epstein indicated that he does not feel threatened by Tartaglioni and he has a new cellmate who he gets along with, it cannot be determined if Epstein's safety is in jeopardy at MCC New York Recommendation Based on the information received and the fact that Epstein indicated he does not feel threatened by Tartaglioni, there are no CIMS assignment separations warranted at this time. Alright, so that's the official report from the officers on duty during the first incident when Epstein allegedly tried to kill himself and honestly it doesn't jive with what we know now, especially considering that Epstein was terrified of Tartaglioni and he told his lawyer that.
