After Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted in December 2021 on five federal counts tied to Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual-abuse operation, attention immediately shifted to sentencing, the survivors, and the unanswered question of who else had participated in or...

Boss what's the most dreaded question that you can get when you tell people you host a podcast called the Lapsed Fan? Oh, it's what is it about? And why is that, do you think? Because to like pro wrestling is to

lose the respect of others.
Podcast Host - The Lapsed Fan
Now what if we told you there's a podcast that explains exactly why that is and why it's kind of deserved? For over a decade, we've taken fact finding missions through the thicket of half truths that is wrestling history. We watch old matches, call out carnies, laugh at our own jokes, and have so much fun doing it that some people actually can't handle it. Think wrestling is an escape from real life? Think again. Same power games, same office politics, same people lying to your face just with entrance music and absolutely no company health insurance under any circumstances. All I offer is opportunity, not benefits. As do we, Vince. The Lapsed Fan Podcast Come for the wrestling history. Stay for the uncomfortable truth about why it used to be better and why you still care.

What's up everyone? And welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles. Yesterday we were talking about the New Yorker article that profiled Vicky Ward's involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein case and the now infamous 2003 Vanity Fair article. Now we heard from Maria and Annie Farmer for a very long time about Vicki Ward's inaction, how she didn't report the whole story and how she omitted the truth. Now, Vicki Ward, she says that it wasn't her fault. It was the paper's fault. It was Graydon Carter's fault. It was everybody's fault but hers. Meanwhile, she's the one who penned the piece. She's the one who is the alleged journalist, right? But you let someone like Graydon Carter kill your story. You mean to tell me you have no other friends in the media, Nobody else that works for a publication that you could have hit up and said, hey, look, this is what I got. I want you to check the vera, check the and Verify it, make sure it's right. And then I want you to run it. You mean to tell me nobody else would have had the courage to do it? I mean, maybe not. We've seen how the legacy media protected Epstein for a long time, so maybe not. But one thing is for sure. Vicki Ward trying to pass the buck, trying to make it somebody else's fault, is just unacceptable. She effed up here, and that's just the way of it. And her not going to bat for the survivors, not going to bat for Annie and Maria after they spoke with her in confidence, you know, trusted her to try and help them get justice. And for them to not have her push the ball down the field for them after interviewing them and having them, you know, expose everything that happened. And for her not to use that in the story and to go on and write a glowing piece about Epstein is just the nail in the coffin. So this morning we have an article from the Daily Beast, and this article is Vicky Ward's response to the article yesterday from the New Yorker. Now, you all know how I feel about context, right? And I want to know the whole story. I'm not here to just hear one side of the story ever. I want all of the evidence, as much context as possible, so that I can make as much of a informed decision about what I believe as possible. So let's see what Vicky Ward has to say for herself, shall we? Like I said, this article is from the Daily Beast, and the author is Kate Bricklet. Headline Epstein. Journalist Vicki Ward hits back at the New Yorker and Graydon Carter. So for Vicky Ward's part, it's always been. It's. The blame is Graydon Carter's. She doesn't shoulder any of this blame. You know, she was just a reporter trying to get a story out there. She wasn't part of the, you know, the social scene or anything like that. Again, another one of these people that would have you believe that they're helpless. Journalist Vicki Ward has released what she claims are select transcripts related to her 2003 Vanity Fair profile of Jeffrey Epstein following a critical New Yorker examination into why accusations from two of his survivors were axed from her expose. Now, it's nice to see the legacy media catching up to all of this, but we've been talking about this for over a year, and Vicki Ward and her role in helping, you know, build Epstein's profile, helping his rise. You know, a glowing article like this can only help enable Jeffrey Epstein and his disgusting behaviors. You're basically giving him credibility. Ward's transcripts, which appear edited and do not include any audio, portray then Vanity Fair Editor in Chief Graydon Carter as allegedly saying the abuse of a 16 year old was not that earth shattering. I mean, wow, really? And again, look, I wasn't there. I'm not sitting here trying to defend Graydon Carter either. He's a piece of shit. You're the editor, bro. Run the story. What are you scared of? All of these people who are scared of these so called elite, it's just mind boggling to me. They only have the power that you give them back. In 2002, Ward had interviewed siblings Annie and Maria Farmer for her thorough piece, the talented Mr. Epstein. But their claims of sexual abuse at the hands of Epstein and his ex girlfriend and accomplice and you know, convicted human trafficker and you know, child abuser Ghislaine Maxwell never made it to the final copy. Late last year, Annie was one of four survivors to testify at Maxwell's criminal case. So again, what it does, it just shines a terrible light on Vicki Ward. You mean to tell me you had the information from Annie Farmer all of those years ago and you didn't run it? And now Fast forward to 2022, 2021, and those allegations are the ones that are used to get a conviction on Maxwell. As a journalist, you shit the bed. And as a human being, you're not a very good one. Ward has argued Vanity Fair's Carter caved a pressure from Epstein and and ax the farmers from the scoop against her wishes. And again, this is a bunch of he said, she said. How do we know who did what or who didn't do what? The fact of the matter is everybody involved with the decision making process not to run the story is shouldering their share of the blame. And for Vicky Ward to act like she had nothing to do with it, it's just, it's ridiculous. And I don't know anyone who believes that. On Tuesday, the New Yorker published a deeper dive into Ward's assertions of having no say in the farmers being silenced. And revealed a more nuanced and less favorable picture of why Ward didn't break the Epstein trafficking story. The legacy media was protecting Jeffrey Epstein. That's what it was. Okay? The same legacy media that wants you to hate your cousin, hate your neighbor. Yeah, that same exact legacy media. And it's, it's ridiculous. Vicky Ward, Vanity Fair, Graydon Carter, everybody else involved. This short, this story should have run. And if it did, who knows how many girls and women it could have saved from a Lifetime of misery at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein. But no, you couldn't run the story right. You're too worried that Jeffrey Epstein might be mad at you. You, he might show up in his goofy ass slippers and his mom jeans and then what? What's he going to do? The article by New Yorker scribe Isaac Chotiner also examined Ward's forgiving 2011 take on Epstein and Maxwell that glossed over their alleged abuse of young women. And you see, if it was one mistake, you could say, alright, well, she made a mistake. But there's a history of this, refurbishing Jeffrey Epstein's reputation, helping build it back up, and then in 2011, writing another glossy piece on Epstein, on Maxwell. Now fast forward to today and we should all believe that you're some hard charging journalist who was looking for the truth the whole entire time. You have zero chance that's going to happen on this show. In response, Ward tweeted that Chotner's article was riddled with malicious inaccuracies and that she was going to release the transcripts of what Graydon Carter and Maria and Annie Farmer said to me back then so that you can read it for yourself and judge if what Vanity Fair did was right. So again, it's the blame game. Nobody ever wants to take responsibility for the things that they screwed up. I'm so glad that one of the things that was just pounded into my head as a child was self responsibility. You mess up, you own up and you move on. You fix it if you can, and if not, you make sure you never do it again in the future. We don't see that from Vicky Ward, but Ward told the Daily Beast that she had decided against releasing her transcribed conversations with Annie and Maria. Yeah, good idea. That's told to you in confidence. You've already, you know, hurt the process with Maria and Annie long enough. Now you're talking about, oh, maybe I'll release transcripts. And again, how do we even know if they're real? I'm not trying to sound like a dick here, right, Or a cynical skeptic, but again, I don't just trust people anymore. You know, there's no journalists out there where I'm like, oh yeah, whatever they say, I trust I have to verify everything I read these days. I decided it would be wrong to put those out. Ward said on Wednesday, at the end of the day, they don't need it. They've been through enough. And that is more important than defending myself. Well, we can agree on that. One thing is for sure. All of the survivors here have been through more than enough, Annie and Maria especially. So you got Vicky Ward out here making things more difficult. It's not a good look. I'm very upset that they're upset. Ward added on the farmers. I feel that we're aligned, that we're all fighting the same system. And I hope they're able to get some clarity from reading what I wrote. Yeah, I highly doubt it. And we're not all aligned. If we were all aligned, you. You would have had that article out about Epstein in 2003, then another chance in 2011. You didn't do it again. So what do you mean we're all aligned? I'm not aligned with you. We're certainly not allies. In her defense of her reporting, Ward focused on what she said was Carter protecting the patriarchal system that shored up Epstein rather than exposing it. Oh, what a typical low hanging fruit to go to. So it's the patriarchy, huh? The patriarchy held you back from not exposing this again. You could have brought this information to a million different outlets. You chose not to. You chose to be silenced by Graydon Carter, or you chose to help harbor the reputation of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Either way, you're a coward. Carter Ward told the Daily Beast had a bromance with Epstein and said they formed their own back channel to undermine her as she worked to report on claims that Epstein preyed on young women. Again, that might be true. I'm not saying it's not. I don't know. I wasn't there. And I'm sure Graydon Carter isn't a great person either, but for her to try and, you know, shrug off all of the responsibility onto somebody else, it's disgusting. Take your, your. Your piece of the blame here and do a better job. She also said she's been marginalized by sexist journalism and utilizing anonymous sources, and questioned the purpose of the New Yorker piece, which she described as vindictive, personal, slanted and inaccurate. I mean, look, this is the way of it. Vicky Ward, you're out here, you know, somebody who is hanging out with Ghislaine Maxwell, friendly with them, writing puff pieces on them, and then when the chickens come home to roost. Now it's about the patriarchy and how, you know, it's sexist. Come on, man. What that does is it just takes all responsibility away from her for her actions and says, oh, it's the system's fault why I reacted this way. Guess what? You. Sometimes you got to be willing to Go against the system. You have to be willing to put it all on the wine. On Wednesday, Ward defended herself in her substack newsletter with a post titled what the New Yorker Got Wrong. She took shots at Carter, whom she accused of being a self congratulatory male adoration club with Epstein. Again with the attack on males and it's all guys fault. I mean don't get me wrong, plenty of scumbag dudes, right? But in this specific instance, it has nothing to do with it. She could have went to anybody with this story. She did not. She chronicled what she claimed were written records of certain conversations between herself and Epstein and Carter and a conference call with the two men and other damning details about her old boss. She claimed she provided these transcripts to Chotner, but he didn't include them in his story. Are they both underage? Carter allegedly asked Ward of the Farmers and again he didn't include it in his story. How's he going to verify it? If anyone can hand over some notes and be like oh these are the, the actual notes, these are the notes. But how can someone verify that? So I don't blame Chotner for not running that one was in her early, her very early 20s, Ward replied. And one was 16. Okay, the 16. I mean what people do in their private lives, I mean is not that, you know, earth shattering. I think the money thing is more interesting. Carter allegedly said. Now I do not doubt that this

These dudes have no they don't care if someone's 16. What do they care? They have all the money in the world, all the power in the world. They can get away with whatever they want. So to Carter, that's just a shoulder shrugging situation because like we always talk about, that kind of is normalized for these sick people. In her substack rebuttal, Ward writes, think about that 16. What people do in their private lives is not that earth shattering. In hindsight. The poor farmers didn't stand a chance against that attitude. Nor did I. Again, setting herself up as a victim as well. Sorry, Vicky Ward, you are not a victim. You were in a position where you could have made a change. You could have made a difference, and you did not. That's what it all comes down to, right? Ward also alleges Carter himself behaved inappropriately by dishing the details of his private life that involved a former employee. She writes, and how did he think I felt during years of being on the receiving end of critical remarks about my clothes, mutton dressed as lamb, my face, save the Botox for when you need it. And my marriage? Again, what does any of that have to do with anything? Trying to set herself up and build this profile of oh, woe is me. Poor Vicky Ward. And if he was such an asshole and such a dick and Vanity Fair was such a bad outlet to write for, why wouldn't you go over their head and try and scoop them and give the story to someone else? Unfortunately, it seems that the same misogyny is prevalent at the top of Conde Nast today, Ward adds, bash the woman is the message. Rather than report the inconvenient facts, the same patriarchy that victimized and tortured these women is once again circling the wagons to protect itself. I mean, is she for real? This is just. I really doubt anyone believes that. Okay, to try and use that as your defense is just, wow, I don't even know what else to say about that. As for comment on Ward's accusations, Carter said in an email, sorry, it's impossible to deal with a serial liar. Nothing Vicky Ward says is true. Nothing. As McCarthy said of Lillian Hellman, Carter, referring to dueling writers Mary McCarthy and Lillian Hellman would not comment further when asked if Ward's transcripts are fake. Again, nobody knows who knows what she wrote. Meanwhile, Ward's apparent transcripts of her calls with Epstein don't reveal her directly grilling him about Annie and Maria's sexual abuse accusations. There was the implication that Maria Farmer finally Ohio or left because she felt there was some sort of sexual pressure, ward told Epstein. Who replied for who? Ward answered, from you. Ward told the Daily Beast that later she sent Epstein a list of specific questions via fax, and that call with the financier was only an initial conversation. She can't even get her real her story right. So again, I just, I don't believe any of it. And obviously it's up to all of you to believe what you want to believe. But for me, none of this makes sense and it just seems like another cover your ass situation. I'm feeling him out in the call and then he goes to see Graydon Carter, Ward said. Then Graydon told me the next day that he believes Jeffrey Epstein over the Farmers. And so again, it's all Graydon Carter's fault, Right? And don't get me wrong, scumbag. But Vicky Ward, you're not an adult here. You're just somebody who stands around. You're an automaton who does what what they're told. Both Annie and Maria have said Vanity Fair's exclusion of their interviews and corroborating information from their mother was painful for their family, and that in recent years, when Ward wanted to interview them again, Maria had to tell her to stop harassing them. Maria told the Daily Beast that the New Yorker story was an incomplete analysis of her lies and her cover up for her friends Jeffrey and Ghislaine. No matter what Vicky Ward does, it's to help Vicky Ward. Maria fumed. Vicky Ward has never once cared about the children involved in this story about my baby sister who was 15 when this happened. She doesn't care about anything but prestige and money. Maria is not wrong there. She's 100% correct. That's all these people care about. How do I further my career? And if that means harboring the reputation of somebody like Jeffrey Epstein, well, so be it. Maria said that when the Epstein case made headlines in recent years, Ward would contact her and her family and hound them for interviews via phone and in letters. She has milked us to death, maria said. I have a real problem with Vicky because her stories never seem to line up, Maria added. How, how dare she try to defend herself right now? And look, the rage that Maria feels, it's, it's not fake, okay? I know that for sure and I know that for a fact. Maria is. She feels very wronged by Vicky Ward and I don't blame her. Annie, in her own statement to the Daily Beast, said Ward appears to me to be more concerned about protecting her reputation than she ever was about protecting girls and young women from from a pair of predators. Instead of pointing fingers, I wish all parties were taking more ownership for their mistakes. Annie continued. The dissection of what went wrong in 2002 is relevant because many members of the media still need to learn how to engage ethically with individuals coming forward with allegations of abuse rather than re traumatize them and people in the media Blue check marks on Twitter especially. You should read that paragraph again when you have these survivors being more comfortable talking to people in the independent media, independent content creators than they are to speaking to regular journalists who are supposed to be digging for the truth. You know that there's a big problem and it just goes back to the fact that nobody trusts the legacy media anymore because this is what happens. They stick up for their buddies, predators go un called out and then when the chickens come home to roost when it's found out that you were up to nonsense, there's never any apologies. It's just more oh, it wasn't me and it's gross, it's disgusting. And people like Annie and Maria, they deserve a lot better from the legacy media. Still, Ward says she is entitled to defend herself in light of the New Yorker's story, and she doesn't believe she's done so at the farmer's expense. Look, I agree and everyone should be able to defend themselves. But with that said, it doesn't mean I'm going to believe what you're pitching. In recent years, Ward came forward to say that she believes the farmer's claims and capitalized on the Epstein scandal with a with a three part special Chasing Ghislaine on Discovery plus, and an audible podcast of the same title. It cracks me up. I'm not going to digress too far here, but all of these podcasts that all of a sudden have popped up recently about Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein. Comical at best she was first she first accused Carter of excising the women from her story in a 2015 column for the Daily Beast. It came down to my sources, word against Epstein's, and at the time Graydon believed Epstein, Ward wrote in my notebook, I have him saying I believe him. I'm Canadian. What does that mean? I don't believe you and I'm Italian, so put that in your pipe and smoke it. Chotner interviewed Ward about his story of covering Epstein and Maxwell after the latter was convicted in late December of grooming girls for the multi millionaire pedophile. Many of the things she told me and had told her podcast listeners turned out to be untrue, chotner writes. And for those of you out there listening to the podcast right now, you know for a fact that that's one of the number one things when it comes to podcasts that's important. Getting the story straight and consistency. The two most important things. Ward has neither. What is it, a 10 part series where it's filled with all kinds of BS? According to Chotner, all publications, including this one, at times look back on stories and regret not pursuing them further. But Ward's claim that Vanity Fair prevented her from exposing Epstein misrepresents a more complicated reality. That's factual, definitely a more complicated reality, but she could have made it less complicated by just taking the story elsewhere. Again, I know that sounds easy, and it's easy for me to say it's not my livelihood on the line. But guess what? Sometimes you have to have courage. And if you're going to be a journalist, especially your job as a member of the Fourth Estate is to hold people of power to account, chanter adds. Carter, who now says that he distrusted Ward as a reporter, has offered conflicting explanations for his magazine's decision not to run the sisters allegations. For her part, Ward has repeatedly misrepresented her reporting on Epstein, changing her story from year to year and at times from day to day, and was a far less heroic actor than she would have audiences believe. Yeah, it's nice to see Chautinhurst getting caught up on this. We've only been talking about this for over two years. Maria was a 26 year old art student in New York when she met Epstein and Maxwell and claims the duo sexually assaulted her in 1996. During the alleged assault, Farmer had been staying at the home of Epstein's pal, former Limited Brands chairman Les Wexner. And Maria's story is one that is pretty disgusting and sad. She's told her story here on this podcast before, she's told it elsewhere. And I think that Maria and Annie, if they would have just been listened to, all of this could have been stopped. The creepy couple also preyed on Maria's 16 year old sister Annie, who was groped by Maxwell during a visit to Epstein's New Mexico compound. At Maxwell's criminal trial, Annie said she was frozen in fear when the socialite pedophile convicted human trafficker molested her. And again, we all heard Annie's testimony, we all read it and we all know how harrowing that must have been for her. Last July, Maria told Page Six she was tired of Ward allegedly profiting from her and Annie's experience with Epstein. I am horrified. Just leave us alone. Can't she make money off of other victims? Maria told the outlet ahead of Ward's podcast premiere. She added, whenever we hear the name Vicky Ward, we cringe. Ward responded that she made an effort to really apologize to Maria in the podcast. She was done a great disservice, ward told Page Six. Epstein ruined her life. I'm hugely sorry for my role in that. She obviously sees me as the enemy, which is very upsetting. Well look, you had a chance to help her. You had a chance to go and tell the world what happened and. And you did not. You sat on it. And because of that, I can't even begin to tell you the struggles that Maria has had since then. Cancer, issues with hiding from these people. It's no way to live your life, and she deserves a lot better than that from Vicky Ward and the rest of these pieces of shit. In Chotner's piece, Carter initially recalled that he edited Ward's first draft of her 2003 story and that there was no mention of young women in it. Emails showed, however, that Ward had discussed the farmer's sexual abuse accusations with fact checkers and a photo editor weeks before her deadline. Carter and I also spoke on the phone, chotner writes, and he told me that the decision not to run the farmer's allegation was likely influenced by Ward's professional reputation. My staff to a person did not trust her. Then why is she working for you? Why do we have people in the in the media or in the journalist rooms who are not trusted? If nobody trusts you and you're a liar, why are you giving the news to the rest of us?

It's amazing to me. Fire her then. In the three years after Epstein's profile, Ward continued to write about the wealthy sex offender and and mingle with Maxwell in Manhattan society circles. Her bylines included a casual 2008 Vanity Fair item about rumors that Epstein would flee to Israel to avoid jail time for soliciting a minor in Florida. The story closes with an impertinent exchange. Well, I guess you and I have history by now, Jeffrey, I told him, thinking of my 2003 article. He replied, you know how many girls say that to me? Well, aww, how cute. What a loving moment between you two absolute scoundrels. The next column, in 2011, was effusive about Maxwell, the very woman Annie accused of abuse. In an interview with Ward about nine Years before. So after she knew all of this, Vicki Ward, she had been hip to all of this by Annie and Maria and had hindsight as her benefit. And she's still hanging out with Ghislaine Maxwell. So anything she says after that should not be taken seriously. This is not to say I didn't hear stories about the girls. Ward wrote. I did. But not knowing quite whom to believe, I concentrated on the intriguing financial mystery instead. Ward added, and they didn't even dig deep there. The financial aspect of this case is one of the most interesting aspects to me. And for her to act like she's really dug deep here is laughable at best, Ward added. Sure, Jeffrey had his sexual peccadillos, but then Ghislaine's father was not without his oddities again. What about ism? What does that even mean? His peccadillos? You mean abusing children and raping women? That's peccadillos to you, huh? I guess when you're part of the so called elite and you do that sort of shit, it's just a peccadillo. Ward says her original copy said we concentrated instead of I because she wanted to cover for Vanity Fair. And Carter, she says she always believed the Farmers, but an editor changed her copy and made it seem otherwise. Oh, is that right again? And you never came out with your own version. And Ghislaine, full disclosure, I like her. Most people in New York do. It's almost impossible not to. Ward wrote, she is always the most interesting, the most vivacious, the most unusual person in any room. Oh, give me a fucking break. Breaking news. I guarantee you I know people in New York who don't like Elaine Maxwell, okay? I promise you that she's not the most interesting person anywhere ever. I've spent hours talking to her about the Third World. You mean the developing world again? Remember, folks, when these people are up there calling everybody else racist or misogynist or whatever it might be, this is the way they look at the developing world. Oh, it's the Third World. Speaking of it in derogatory terms, like there's places. I've spent hours talking to her about the third world at a bar until 2am she is as passionate as she is knowledgeable. She is curious. She has spent weeks at the bottom of the ocean, literally going deeper than anyone else. She should have just stayed there, okay? The world would be a better place. Nobody cares if she's out here acting like Jacques Cousteau. Nobody gives a fuck. Asked about this language, Ward told the Daily Beast that Maxwell had an extraordinary charisma, but claimed she didn't know her well. She said they'd run into each other sporadically at a book launch or a movie premiere. This is somebody I would run into at an event. It's not somebody I would be having lunch with, ward said. I think people have got the wrong impression. Ward added that she had no idea the heiress, Pedophile, human trafficker, child abuser, procured children for Epstein. Nah, you had no idea. Nobody knew anything. She's a journalist. It's her job to know. But she had no idea. Sure. I think we should just believe everything Vicky Ward tells us. Ward told Chotiner that her draft was quite different from the finished feature posted on Vanity Fair's website. This piece got sent to Graydon and somebody altered it dramatically, Ward claimed. Really, really dramatically. As proof, Ward forwarded Chotner her emails with Vanity Fair editors and her supposed first draft. According to Chotner, the draft was extremely similar to the published piece and specifically said that she would. She was unsure of whom to believe. The sentence about sexual peccadilloes was in that copy, too. Now, again, she's being called out here, she's being outed, aired out, and she's still not willing to take responsibility. So I leave it up to you folks, as usual, to decide if her content's worth you even bothering with. Chotner says Ward claims she included precise allegations from the farmers in her 2011 write up, but someone at Vanity Fair removed them. But a copy of the draft, Chotner writes revealed that Annie's accusations about Maxwell's unwanted massage and Epstein climbing into her bed had never been included. Asked why Annie's claims about Maxwell were left out, Ward told Chotiner, I wish I could remember. She added that she was deliberately covering for Carter, who denied Ward's claims. Who denied Ward's claims. So you are covering for Carter, proving that you're willing to lie, proving that you're willing to not have a backbone. So again, blow the whole entire thing up. They both get their share of the blame. Vicky Ward as the author, Vicki Ward as the person who's supposed to have the confidence of these girls, completely blew the confidence out of the water. And now here we are. 2011 was a year. I made a lot of bad decisions, Ward said, mentioning that she was going through a divorce. I was not mentally well. Oh, please. None of us are mentally well, okay? Try waking up every single morning and not knowing where your next, you know, meal's coming from or if your bills are going to be paid. That month, Chander pressed Ward on why she wrote the 2011 essay In Light of her claims that Epstein threatened her before the first profile was published. She replied in part, I think the reason I did it was that the media industry was imploding. And this may seem bizarre, but by being able to write about it so flippantly, I think it made me feel good, actually. The media was imploding. It's been imploding forever. So you writing for Epstein about Epstein or this story is going to save the media complex? Imagine having this kind of opinion of yourself. Ward isn't the only high profile reporter covering the Epstein case to come under fire. Last week, victims Courtney Wilde and Haley Robson filed a defamation suit against storied Miami Herald journalist Julie K. Brown, saying she misre. Excuse me, saying she misrepresented their stories in her 20 and 21 book. Well, folks, again, that's why this podcast exists, so that we can go through these stories that come out on a daily basis, pick them apart, find the golden gems, and discard the rest of it. Because it was, it's not just been Vicky Ward covering for Epstein. It was the whole entire media complex up until about 2019. So for these clowns to act like, you know, oh, it was just Vicky Ward or just Graydon Carter, that's a joke. But what Vicky Ward and Graydon Carter did here, according to Maria and Annie, absolutely out of bounds. And honestly, it goes a long way with helping Jeffrey Epstein and Glenn Maxwell continue to do this. So Vicki Ward coming out here trying to defend herself while she's more than, you know, able to do that, right, she should have the right to defend herself. Again, it, it falls flat to me. There's nothing there in this defense that would make me say, ah, you know what, maybe I should reevaluate this. Especially considering I've, I've, I've, I've spoken with Maria personally, so I don't buy any of it. I've never bought Vicki Ward's story and I've never really thought of her as a reliable narrator. As usual, though, I'll leave that up to you folks to decide. That's gonna do it for this morning's update. I'll be back later on tonight, obviously with, you know, the evening update and until then, some context episodes coming your way. If you'd like to contact me, you can do that@bobbycapucciorotonmail.com that's B O B B Y C A P U c c I protonmail.com youm can also Find me on Twitter at Bobby Capucci. The link that we discussed can be found in the description box. All right, everybody, I will be back later on, and I hope all of you have a great morning. What's up, everyone? And welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles. Hope that everybody out there is having a great morning so far. You know, I've lived in the city my whole entire life. First I lived in New York, and then I moved to Las Vegas. So I've never lived outside of the concrete jungle. Well, folks, that's going to change. Recently, my girlfriend and I, Carrie, we have started looking at land in places like Montana, Wyoming, northern Nevada, Idaho. You get the drift? And it's about time for us to make our escape out of the city. I used to love the city, folks. I used to love the feel of it, you know, the. The excitement, the energy. But at least here in Las Vegas, that's not the case anymore. Seems like every time I leave the house, it's a whole, entire ordeal. All kinds of morons everywhere, rude people, people who are just so caught up in whatever kind of nonsense they have going on that they can't be concerned with being kind to other people or showing even the littlest amount of respect. And frankly, I'm sick of it. I can't deal with it anymore. I'm tired of it. I'm tired of the vibe, and I'm just tired of just all of the sadness and sorrow that you see in the big cities. I know that I could leave my house right now and drive for five minutes, five, ten minutes tops, and be at a homeless encampment. And I don't live in, you know, the middle of the ghetto or anything like that, but it's endemic everywhere you go. And for me, I've had enough. Our local officials, they can't handle the situation. They're way too busy, you know, shoving money in their pockets, being greedy, not doing the right thing, playing tribalism. And meanwhile, the rest of us suffer. So for me, I'm hitting the eject button, folks. I am checking out, and we're headed to the. To the mountains, to them, thar mountains. Because it's crazy every single time I go out. I mean, personally, I don't have to deal with it for the most part. I just. I keep my distance from people in general. I don't get caught up in any kind of, like, road rage types of situations. I'm a leave me alone and I'll leave you alone kind of person these days. But it's just the things that I observe While I'm out, people fighting in line at the grocery store. Oh, you're too close to me. Oh, you're not wearing a mask. And it's just all crazy to me. And while we're busy dealing with that nonsense, arguing with each other at each other's throats, the scumbags like Ghislaine Maxwell and her friends, well, they're having a field day. Have you taken a look at the transfer of wealth throughout this pandemic from the bottom up? If not, I suggest you do so to get some perspective about who the true enemy really is. And I promise you, it's not some dunderhead on Twitter who has a different opinion than you do about vaccines or politics. Those aren't your enemies. Your enemies are the people behind the scenes pulling the strings. Those are our enemies.

And for me, I'm not gonna play the game. I'm not playing that game where I hate people or I'm rude to people who have different opinions than me. I don't live in an echo chamber, folks. And one of the things I'm proudest of about this podcast is, is that there's so many people from so many different walks of life who listen to it. Hardcore socialists, hardcore MAGA folks. And they all get it right. People out there who are. Who are listening to me, they understand I'm not somebody sitting here with an axe to grind. I don't really care about either of these ridiculous political parties. I spent way too much time carrying water for them when I was younger. And now that the curtain's been pulled back, I don't have any. I don't have a dog in the fight, if you will. I think both sides are absolutely harmful to us, and I don't think either side has any good ideas at this point. So for me, the best move is to just eject and get out of that rat race. And that's my plan, folks, to buy a piece of land and couple of animals and call it a day. So I've been doing that the last couple of days. Well, I've had a little, a little bit of downtime and man, oh man, what a bunch of beautiful parcels of land I found. So hopefully by the end of the year I'll be able to get out of Dodge and at the very least buy my piece of land and start working on it. Plan on also while I'm there, benefit for everybody. By the way, having a studio built, a pretty self contained studio right there on the property. So I don't have to leave anymore either. That's the biggest plan. I want enough land where I don't have to leave if I don't want to. I could wake up in the morning, hop on my atv, go drive around, go fishing, whatever it might be. But this city rat race that I've been living in for 41 years, yeah, that's over for me, folks. I've had enough. I've had my fill. And with, you know, the perfect storm upon us, the pandemic, and everyone being able to work, you know, remotely for the most part, it's the perfect time. So I'm, I'm definitely putting up themselves, leaving the harbor and heading out into the open water. All right, so onto our topic for the day. Now, we all know the current situation with Glenn Maxwell. We all know that juror number 50, Scotty David threw a wrench into things. Doesn't mean there's automatically going to be a mistrial, but, but it is something that has to be discussed now because of the situation and him possibly lying about his circumstances. So we all know that that is at the forefront right now. Well, on the back end of all of this, let's remember Ghislaine Maxwell still has to face trial for perjury charges. So now the prosecution is dangling, dropping those perjury charges if Maxwell just goes along with the conviction that she's already been hit with. Now, I don't see any way that she gets off on these perjury charges and she's looking at 10 years with those. So I would think that it's maybe a bit of an enticement. But is it enough? That's the question, and I guess we'll have to see. But my gut feeling is that it's not going to be enough to entice her to, to not try and chase this mistrial. I think that her best bet, and while it's still, I don't think it's likely to happen, but it's her best bet to Chase that mistrial. All right, so with that said, let's take a look at this article from the Daily Mail and let's see what they have to say about this whole situation. Now, this article was authored by Lawrence Dallimore. Headline Prosecutors offer to drop perjury charges against Ghislaine Maxwell if sex trafficking conviction is allowed to stand as her lawyers argue compelling basis for retrial after jurors sex abuse revelation. Well, I will say this about the Daily Mail. They lead the league in long headlines and the world's longest headlines. Good Lord, could the headlines be any longer? Over at the Daily Mail, they give you the whole story right there in the headline. For the most part, prosecutors are willing to drop two charges of perjury against disgraced socialite child trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell if a conviction for sex trafficking is allowed to stand. Court documents showed on Monday. So there's always a flurry of court documents going into the court trying to get filed to the docket. And I try and keep up on all of those as much as possible. So whenever they come through, I'll do a quick read through and make sure we're, you know, on the right page and, you know, we're not navigating off into la la land. And while I'm talking about that, quick shout out to Lady H over there on Twitter, who is always all over it and always making sure that I have the proper documentation to go through. And, and folks like that like Lady H, boy, I'll tell you what, they are very important to people like me who are creating content because we're not superhumans, right? There's things I miss all the time. And all of you fantastic listeners who are locked into the case have added so much that I can't even begin to explain how awesome you all are. But Lady H over there on Twitter has, I mean, since the jump, kept the court documents fresh and coming. So a lot of props to her and definitely a shout out. The 60 year old could spend the rest of her life behind bars after a jury convicted her of recruiting and grooming young girls to be sexually abused by the late American financier and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein last month. Why do we have to call him a financier? And furthermore, what the F was this guy financing? He wasn't financing anybody. He wasn't a financier. He was a thief and a money launderer and a child molester and a rapist. Okay? That's what he was. She is due to be sentenced at a later date, but there is ongoing disagreement over when a timetable should be set. Prosecutors want the British born Maxwell sentenced within three to four months, but her defense team, as opposed to setting a date, there is a compelling basis to overturn her her conviction. So her prosecutor, I mean the defense team doesn't want to set this date yet because they're hanging their hat on hopefully this mistrial. So they don't want to set this date until they get the mistrial stuff set up and ready to go this

Demanded a new trial after a juror revealed he had helped convict Maxwell by telling fellow jury members about his experience of sexual abuse. And again, he's allowed to rely on his past experiences as a human being when he's making the case to the other jurors in the room to try and explain his opinions and how he came to his decision making. What he is not allowed to do, however, is lie about those circumstances during the questionnaire period. So again, like we've been saying, and it's a dead horse at this point, it's all about that questionnaire and whether or not he lied on that. According to court documents dated January 10, the US government has now offered to drop two perjury charges linked to claims Maxwell made in 2016 deposition in a separate civil lawsuit should the sex crime conviction stand. Each perjury charge carries a maximum five year prison term. So she's cooked on those perjury charges. No doubt about that. She's definitely going to get convicted on those. So it would be a good idea for her team to definitely consider this in my opinion, because she's going to get, she's going to get the time on perjury. It's rather obvious she lied. So it's certainly something that the team has to discuss. But at the end of the day, is it going to be enough to entice them to to drop their thoughts of a mistrial of that? I think it's going to be a hard sell. The Charges alleged, the convicted sex trafficker lied under oath by hiding her participation in Epstein's offenses during separate civil case brought against her by Prince Andrew's accuser, Virginia Roberts. And kudos here for the Daily Mail finally getting on board. The charges alleged, the convicted sex trafficker lied under oath. That is what she is, a convicted sex trafficker. An absolutely horrendous human being. If you want to call her a human being. I prefer bipedal serpent, but you get the drift here. This lady should not be called a socialite, an ex socialite, any of that. She is a convicted sex offender. You made that bed, Ghislaine Maxwell. Now enjoy lying in it. Confirming their position in the letter to Judge Alison J. Nathan, the US Government said in the event the defendant's post trial motions are denied, the government is prepared to dismiss the severed perjury counts at the time of sentencing in light of the survivor's significant interest in bringing closure to this matter and avoiding the trauma of testifying again. And we talked about this a little bit yesterday, it's gotta be traumatic, right? Coming back, gotta testify again, relive all of this. The nightmares, the night sweatshirt, the anticipation the day before. I mean, come on. Have any of you ever had a big day that you had and you were, you know, nervous about it, you weren't really looking forward to it, maybe like surgery or something like that? I know I've had both of my shoulders fully reconstructed due to injuries that I've picked up being a moron in my life. And every single night that I was laying there in bed before those surgeries, I was scared shitless. So I can only imagine laying there before a trial, getting up there to air out your whole life in front of the whole world, that there has to be so much anxiety in the best of times, never mind if you were sexually abused or raped or trafficked by sick fucks like this. So in the interest of them not having to revisit the trauma, I am all for it as long as Maxwell is punished the right way. If any of the defendant's post trial motions are granted, the government proposes that the parties be directed to promptly confer and propose a schedule for further proceedings. That schedule may depend on the manner in which the court resolves such motions. So basically what they're saying there is. We're gonna have to wait and see. We'll have to wait and see what the court decides. We'll have to wait and see what the defense brings to the table and. And then the negotiations will begin. The prosecution has Also requested preparation of a pre sentence investigation report. But the defense argued anything Maxwell said in the report could be used against her at, at her retrial. And she's not wrong about that. So that's, that's a, A bit diligent on her team's behalf here. You gotta be careful, right? You gotta really be careful when you're dealing with the federal government setting out their position. In the letter, Maxwell's lawyer said the defense requests that the court delay setting a schedule for sentencing because there is a compelling basis for the court to overturn Ms. Maxwell's conviction and grant her a new trial based on the disclosure of Juror 50 during deliberations. The defense therefore objects to setting a schedule for sentencing until this motion is resolved. So again, what they're trying to do is stop everything in its tracks till they can figure out if they're gonna get a retrial here. That's what they're aiming for. That's what they're gunning for. That's what they want. The question is, are they going to attain it? Furthermore, requiring Ms. Maxwell to participate in the preparation of the pre sentence investigation report while she is awaiting a decision on her motion for a new trial will adversely impact her fifth amendment rights, the right to silence so as to not incriminate herself. Miss Maxwell will be forced into the position of not cooperating with the probation department's investigation because any statement she makes to probation and any document she provides may be used against her at her retrial. So they're really pining for that retrial folks. They think they're gonna get it. They think that Maxwell is going to get a chance to once again try and argue her innocence here, if you want to call it that. I would, I would suggest that they didn't even argue her innocence the first time around. But again, while it seems like a mistrial is certainly a possibility, we are dealing with the United States legal system where things that seem likely, well, they never occur. Maxwell's conviction was first put in jeopardy when juror number 50, Scotty David, admitted he flew through a pretrial questionnaire and did not recall being asked on the forum about his experience of sexual abuse. David claimed he used this, his experience, to influence other jurors, saying, when I shared that they were able to come around on the memory aspect of the sexual abuse. And again, we don't even know if that's the truth. We haven't heard from the other jurors. We don't know what they were thinking. This is just one guy who wants to be the hero of their story. Maxwell's defense has insisted she not be made to expend resources on other legal matters until a ruling on whether to conduct a retrial is made. It comes after a second unidentified juror told the New York Times that they too had been abused as a child. They said they had discussed the experience during deliberations and that the revelation had appeared to help shape the jury's discussions, the paper reported. Meanwhile, Maxwell's lawyers told the Mail on Sunday that they believe they have found a third juror in her sex trafficking trial who lied about being abused. Alright, so now we're getting a bit silly, right? Everybody's a liar. Everybody told the story. At what point do you look at Maxwell's team and say, alright, come on now, stop it.

I'm thinking, I think I'm at that point right now. Alright, enough with the bs. Your client's convicted. She's a human trafficker. Stop being a moron. A source said. Maxwell's legal team feel confident a third juror lied on their jury application, adding there are also questions over a fourth juror. So this thing is up in the air. So when they say, a source said, I'm guessing Maxwell's brother, he's the only source that they've had and boy oh boy, he is not a reliable narrator. Maxwell's trial and subsequent conviction for assisting Epstein, who hanged himself in his jail cell in 2019, allegedly exposed a murky world of sex trafficking among the rich and powerful. A New York judge last week said they would decide pretty soon whether to dismiss a sexual assault lawsuit against the UK's Prince Andrew by Virginia Roberts, also a longtime abuse survivor of Maxwell and Epstein's. Roberts alleges that Epstein lent her out for sex with his wealthy and powerful associates, including Andrew, an allegation that Queen Elizabeth second excuse me, Queen Elizabeth II's son has repeatedly and strenuously denied. So it's it's funny how they say, oh, it opens up a world of murky sex trafficking among the rich and powerful. What do you mean? This has been going on forever. How do you think the courts in the middle Ages ran? And when I say courts, I mean royal courts. They were basically large ass sex trafficking operations. In fact, we're gonna dive into that at some point as well because it's, it's very interesting how those courts for the kings and monarchs in the old days were used as sex trafficking operations. So this is as old as old could be, folks. And when it comes to Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein, they're certainly not the only ones that are up to it. So we're going to continue on this path. We're continue following the story and we're going to see what comes of this. But one thing I can definitely tell you is there are definitely some more twists and turns ahead and there's certainly going to be some bumps in the road. So, folks, my advice is buckle up. All right, that's going to do it for us this morning. We'll be back later on tonight with our evening update and context articles as usual. If you'd like to contact me, you can do that@bobby capuchirotonmail.com that's B O B B Y C A P U C c I@protonmail.com youm can also find me on Twitter Obby Capucci. The link that we discussed can be found in the description box. What's up, everyone? And welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles. Hope that everybody's off to a great start to their weekend and hopefully the rest of it is even better. Last night we were talking about the fact that Carolyn, one of the witnesses from the Ghislaine Maxwell trial, corroborated the fact that Virginia called her and told her about her experience with Prince Andrew. And when we were discussing that last night, we were talking about the settlement and if this would, you know, settle out of court maybe. And it looks like Virginia wants nothing to do with that. I said that last night as well. I thought that perhaps she would want to see this all the way through. And there's an article in the New York Post and the headline is prince Andrew sex accuser wanted 5 million but will no longer accept a payout. And I kind of figured that was the path we were on. This is about something bigger for Virginia at this point. And it's not, you know, people will frame it. Oh, it's about the money, it's about the settlement. And I think it's well beyond that. At this point when we're discussing Virginia Roberts, I think she's at the point where she just wants to see this all the way through. And her saying that she will not accept a payout at this point definitely signals that. So it's going to be interesting to see what transpires here as far as this payout or settlement or what the deal is going to be. But it certainly looks like at this point that Prince Andrew better have his trip trial pants on. Right? You know, he talked about not wearing the right kit. I'm not wearing the right kit around London to go to the bar. Well, you better have the right kid on to go to court, my friend, because it sure looks like that's the path you're on and it sure looks like that's the trajectory, the trajectory that we're all going to be experiencing. Because according to this article, and just looking at Virginia's history, right, as an outsider, it would signal that she is not interested in the payout here, that she wants to go all the way. So we're gonna jump into two articles this morning, one relatively short one here from the New York Post talking about this payout. And the other one I want to get to is the one I was telling you that discusses the different scenarios for Maxwell once she's in jail, how considering her crimes, she won't be at a minimum security Club Fed type place, but more than likely at like a medium security. So we're gonna touch on that as well. But first let's take a look at this article from the New York Post and let's see what Lee Brown has to say. Prince Andrew sex accuser wanted 5 million but will no longer accept a payout. Prince Andrew sex accuser had sought $5 million to settle out of court, but will no longer accept a potential payout because she wants the case to go to trial, according to a report. And like I said last night when we were talking, I figured that this was the case just from following Virginia's history and, you know, seeing the way that she has proceeded here, I really didn't have any doubt, honestly that she was going to pursue this to the very end and really turn the heat up on Prince Andrew. Virginia Roberts is suing the 61 year old UK royal for allegedly having sex with her three times starting when she was just 17. That makes it seem kind of like, you know, aye, they just had sex and now she regrets it. It's not the case. She was 17 years old and she was flown to England by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell with the express purpose of having sex with Prince Andrew. That's why she was brought there. Little 17 year old girl, remember? 17 years old? Oh, well, the age of consent In England is 16. Yeah. Guess what? What if it was your daughter? How would you feel then? Would it be the same thing? Would you still have the same blase attitude about it? Somehow I highly doubt it. Sources told the Telegraph that she initially sought a settlement of $5 million from Andrew. Ten times the 500 grand she got from Jeffrey Epstein, the late pedophile who she says ordered her to have disgusting sex with the prince. Well, inflation's a son of a bitch, isn't it? You got all these wacky ass lame politicians out there telling us how great inflation is for poor people. Yeah, okay, sure. Spoken like somebody who's never been poor before. And the same goes for this. Oh, well, it's 10 times the amount she got from Epstein. Well, 10 years later, whole bunch of years later, that's how it works, right? And frankly, 5 million is not enough. Not. I would sue him if it was me. I would sue this dude for the 5 million. I want the, the crown jewels of England. I, I want Sandringham. I would go crazy. I, I'd ask for all kinds of wild if it was me, just to prove a point. But now that, but now that the case looks set to go to trial this year, the longtime accuser is no longer willing to settle out of court, the paper sources said. Roberts, a founder of the nonprofit Speak Out Act Reclaim Soar helping sex trafficking survivors, wants to instead show the legal consequences for those preying on young girls, the paper said. And look, this has been Virginia's purpose and intent for quite some time. If you just follow her posts on Twitter and what she has to say, there she is, you know, had enough. It certainly would seem like she has had enough. And there's no more retreating for her. It's biting down on the mouthpiece and moving to the center of the octagon to, to throw bombs at this point. And that's what you have to do with bullies, right? You can't run from bullies. You can't expect them to stop because they won't. The only way to deal with a bully is to three piece them up. That's it. It's the only way. And that's what Virginia is looking to do here, to piece these dudes up. She believes that accepting a payout from the scandal scarred son of Queen Elizabeth II would not advance that message, the UK paper said, I agree. It really wouldn't. Right. All it would do is open the door for more people to try and, you know, demean her and call her somebody who's just looking for a payday, when in reality, it's a lot more than that. Her lawyer, David Boies, previously confirmed that her camp had offered the royal the chance to enter a tolling agreement, which would have given Andrew time to negotiate a settlement privately. The prince never accepted the offer and instead initially tried to dodge getting served the Manhattan court papers in the suit, according to previous hearings and filings. Well, we remember that old boy was ducking and dodging like Rip Torn was throwing wrenches at him. The dude's an absolute clown, a joke, and an embarrassment to a great nation. I mean, I. I can't tell you how many great people I know from the UK And I can't tell you how many of them were mortified by the behavior of this scoundrel ass scumbag. His lawyers have since fought to get the case against him dismissed, claiming that Robert's settlement with Epstein, which was made public last week, also covers him from liability. I thought you never met her. How could you. How could it cover you for liability if you have never even met her? Oh, wait, that's right, you lied. You did meet her, and you were with her at Ghislaine Maxwell's house, and you were with her at Tramp, and you did have your arm around her, and you can sweat. Okay, so basically, what I'm trying to say here is you're a liar. As of Friday, Judge Lewis Kaplan had yet to issue a decision on the motion. But at a hearing Tuesday, the judge appeared to suggest the settlement was not clear enough to keep the prince from getting sued. Roberts for years has insisted that Epstein and his now convicted. Madam, Madam, no. Co conspirator, fellow child abuser, general all around scuzzbag. Ghislaine Maxwell forced her to have disgusting sex with the prince three times in London, New York, and on Epstein's private island in the Caribbean. Andrew's legal team has called the lawsuit baseless and said he unequivocally denies Robert's false allegations against him.

You're gonna have your chance in court. It seems like, buddy, to defend yourself because it doesn't look like Virginia is interested in settling out of court with your bitch ass. So buckle up, homie. You better call your boy Marty Singer. You better hit up Brettler. And you better get ready. Maxwell was convicted of sex trafficking and other charges December 29th in Manhattan federal court and faces up to 65 years in prison. She was accused of procuring victims for her buddy Epstein and engaging in some of the abuse as well. Well, at least they're getting that right nowadays. The papers are at least saying she was taking part in the abuse now. I guess one step at a time, huh? Her lawyers are now pushing for a mistrial after two jurors have admitted swaying deliberations with tales of their own childhood abuse that they may not have declared before being picked for the panel. Epstein killed himself in a Manhattan jail cell, allegedly in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. So I wanted to touch on this article just real quick because we brought this up last night and I was just taking a shot in the dark here, taking a guess, when I said I didn't think that Virginia was going to be interested in a payout here and that she'd be interested in going all the way. And I wake up this morning and I see this article. So I figured we'd add this to the, the front end of the other article I had ready for us to go. So it gives a little bit more context, right, And a little bit more of an idea of where Virginia is and what her game plan is going to be. And I'll tell you what folks, I cannot wait for this to go to trial. Alright, so let's check out our next article. This article is from Fortune.com and the authors are Bob Van Voris, Chris Dolmich and Bloomberg. Ghislaine Maxwell's prison won't be like the camp Cupcake where Martha Stewart served her sentence. Ghislaine Maxwell's high society days are over as she faces years in a prison that's likely to be harsher than the so called CAM cupcake prisoners where Martha Stewart served. Now there's all kinds of different prisons as you well know. You have high security, maximum security prisons, medium security prisons, low security prisons, prison camps, all kinds of wild stuff. And Martha Stewart was able to serve her sentence at a low security camp where you know, it's like a dormitory style setting and you know it's very lax. It's if you will, if prison can be lax. But there's no like regular regulations like there are in a high security facility where you know you're only out on the yard for so, so little amount of time, that kind of thing. Whereas at a low security place you have a lot more freedom. And in some of these places there aren't even fences around these camps. Now I know when I went and visited people I care about at a federal lockup in Lompoc, they were at a low security portion of the prison and they could have literally walked right out of the jail if they wanted to. But then when you get caught, and you will get caught, you go to a higher security facility after that to serve out the rest of your term, plus whatever they tack on for you walking out of the facility. So that's kind of a, a deterrent for people at these low, these low, low security facilities to not leave. Right. They don't want to get any years tagged onto it and they don't want to go and do hard time. I know if I was going to prison or jail or whatever, I'd much prefer to go to one of these camps. But when you have the charges that Maxwell has and you've been convicted of what Maxwell has been convicted of, you're not going to cam cupcake. You're going to at least a medium security level facility and things are going to be a lot tougher on her, a lot more regimented. Maxwell, the ex socialite co conspirator general all around scuz bag of disgraced financier pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was convicted Wednesday on five counts tied to sexual abuse and including the most serious charge of sex trafficking of a minor, which carries a maximum sentence of 40 years. Because she was convicted of sex crimes, Maxwell won't be assigned to a minimum security prison camp like the one in Alderson, West Virginia that housed Stewart with a dormitory style housing and limited fencing, according to prison consultant Justin Papperny. And that's what I was just talking about. It's like, you'd be shocked, right? I, I was under the impression that jail or prison, you know, was like you see in the movies. Then when I, when I went and visited the, the people that I went to see while they were doing their sentence, it was kind of, you know, shocking to me that they could have literally just walked out of the facility if they wanted. Alderson has been called Camp Cupcake by critics who faulted for its custody conditions and activities that include progressive relaxation. Well, I don't know about all of that, but I'm a big fan of rehabilitation while people are in prison and especially if you're in there for nonviolent crimes. What, we should throw people who are arrested for non violent crimes right into the mix with the rest of the act, the real scumbags of the world? Nah, I don't think that's the right way to go. About things either. Now, progressive relaxation. I don't know what that even means, to be honest with you, so I can't tell you if I agree with it or not. But I am a fan of rehabilitation when people are in prison, except for the most heinous of crimes. Right, these kinds of sex crimes or you're a murderer. Look, you can't rehabilitate from stuff like that. So if Maxwell is given closer to the high end of what she faces, she'll likely end up in a medium security prison, according to Paperny, who runs White Collar Advice, which advises clients facing prison. Jeez, imagine. Imagine you're facing prison. You gotta call this guy and get a game plan on what you should do when you get to the Hooscal. Forget it. I mean, I don't even know what I would do. I don't even like being confined, you know, at my desk for eight hours. Never mind being in jail or a prison cell. It seems like the most terrifying thing in the world to me. Honestly, having my freedom, freedom taken. I. I can't even imagine. She is probably in shock and will be for some time, said Ingrid Letterhouse Okun, a former executive at Tiffany Co. Who spent 10 months at Alderson after admitting to stealing from the company. With proper counseling, she can make her sentence productive if she focuses on giving back meaning, helping others and taking full responsibility for her actions. Nah, this again. This isn't a white collar crime. This isn't somebody who stole a couple of bucks. This is somebody who stole people's lives. Literally. This lady is a life vampire and I, you know, I don't care what she does while she's in there. There's nothing that can take back what she did. She needs to do the full sentence, whatever that may be. Maxwell's attorney said late Wednesday that she will appeal the verdict. Maxwell's trial judge didn't set a sentencing date for Maxwell, who still faces trial on two perjury counts. That trial hasn't been scheduled. The decision where to house Maxwell will be up to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The bureau doesn't comment on individual cases, but factors considered in assigning inmates include the security and supervision the inmate requires, any medical or programming needs, separation and security measures to ensure the inmate's protection and other considerations, including proximity to an individual's release residence, according to spokesman Donald Murphy. Yeah, that's nice in pre in concept, right? How often do they practice it, though? I know my loved ones were scattered all over the country, so I mean, maybe they help people like Maxwell get Put someplace close to home. But when it comes to the rest of us, forget it. Inmates in higher security facilities are generally confined to cells rather than rooms and endure more intense security procedures. Those prisons tend to house people who are convicted of more serious crimes, have longer prison sentences, and are more prone to violence. So again, if you're somebody like Maxwell, you beyond all measure want to get to a low security facility. She's not built for this life. What, she's going to hit the yard and she's going to g up. Someone's going to check her and she's going to G up and. And chin check that person. Yeah, right. She's going to walk in, she's not going to have her paperwork hoop none of it. And she's going to get exploited and beat up and who knows what else. That's. If she's on the general yard, she's not going to hit the general line, though. See, during the whole entire lead up to the trial, her team kept talking about how she wanted to be in the general population. And I laughed and laughed and laughed and mocked them for that. So I want to see how quickly they're talking about general population when she gets the prison. Somehow I doubt they're going to bring it up. They're going to want her in protective custody. Oh, she's a high level inmate all of a sudden, she needs to be protected. That's what they'll say. And I get it. I agree. But let's be real. Still, anywhere she goes will likely be an upgrade from the Brooklyn Federal Lockup where she's been held Since. Charged in July 2020 with helping Epstein sexually abuse underage girls. Prior to her conviction, Maxwell, the daughter of the British media tycoon Robert Maxwell, made numerous complaints about her conditions at the Metropolitan Detention Center, a jail that federal investigators have deemed among the worst in the U.S. bureau of Prison systems. Well, guess what? Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Where did you think you were going to go and do your jail time? You thought you were going to hang out at the Waldorf and pay for your security to protect you around the clock while you sit around and eat bon bons? Wrong. Enjoy the MDC and all of the shittiness of it, because guess what? How many countless people have been through those doors? How many countless people have sat in those same jail cells? It's just the way it goes, Glenn Maxwell. These are the rules you and your friends have put on the books, right? You and all your powerful buddies in D.C. well, you reap what you sow, don't you? She's enduring arguably the worst and filthiest prison in the country. It's a jail, not a prison, said Papperney. Wherever she serves her time will feel like Disneyland compared to where she is right now. I don't believe that for a second. When you're in this lockup, there's the hope that you're getting out and going home at some point when you go to this prison and that, you know, gate closes, oh, it's a wrap for you. It's all been a startling turn for Maxwell, who was arrested at a million dollar 156 acre estate in New Hampshire and owned a New York City townhouse that sold in 2016 for about 15 million, as well as a London home in Belgravia. Federal investigators found that MDC prisoners have been beaten, raped and held in inhumane conditions. Maxwell has complained about being held in solitary confinement while under 24 hour surveillance and being awakened every few hours each night. I mean, that would be the least of her problems, right? If she was on the general line, she'd be exploited, extorted, you name it. She said conditions left her exhausted and unable to properly help prepare her defense. Of the 157,500 inmates currently in the federal prison system, fewer than 11,000 around 7% are women, according to the Bureau of prisons. Of its 122 prison facilities in the US only 29 house women and 11 of those are short term lockups like the MDC where Maxwell was held for trial, her future home will be based on the classification she receives from federal prison officials, said Jack Donson, a prison consultant who worked for the Bureau of Prisons for more than 23 years. That will depend in part on the length of her sentence and a determination by prison authorities whether Maxwell, who has a U.S. uK and French citizenship, presents a risk to escape. Now, as much as I want to pile on here a risk to escape, I highly doubt that now. A risk to run and a risk to try and avoid charges, definitely. But we're not, I mean she's, she's not Andy Dufresne, right? She's not digging a hole through the wall and climbing through the septic system anytime soon. So that's probably the last of my concerns when it comes to Maxwell. If Maxwell is given a more lenient sentence, she may be headed to the low security federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut, known for housing Orange Is the New Black author Piper Kerman and reality television star Teresa Giudice. Said Papperny, yeah, that's the one of the prison in Danbury is notorious for that. You see a couple of mob guys that have been through there, you know that kind of deal. But Donson said the bureau will likely assign a famous convict like Maxwell to a secure facility away from a major city, making the Danbury prison not far from New York less likely. They're never going to put her near New York or anywhere. You're going to have reporters camping out on the road, he said. Well, this is America. Anyone can get to anywhere. I get the idea that it's a lot easier to access Danbury than it is to say Lompoc. But wherever she goes, there's going to be the media following the differences between a minimum security cap and low security Federal Correctional Institution, or fci, can be dramatic, said Larry Levine, founder of Wall Street Prison Consultants, who served more than 10 years in federal prison and now advises convicted criminals on how to survive incarceration. I've had several friends do time in federal prison and every single one of them has come back and said it was a miserable experience. I can't even imagine 10 years. No thank you. Camps often have a relatively high proportion of non violent white collar offenders and and violence is rare. Violence is more likely in fcis, which can house bank robbers, drug dealers and people convicted of sex crimes. So while camps don't have perimeter fences or Armed Security, FCIs have two secured barbed wire fences with roving armed security, he said. The doors to camp Housing Unit doors are never locked, a contrast to FCIs where inmates are locked in at night. And that's I was trying to make that comparison earlier to you folks. It really is night and day between the low security and medium security even. And when I talked to my family members and friends who had served time in federal facilities, they told me themselves the huge difference between minimum and even medium and how it was much more enjoyable. If anything can be enjoyable to to be on the low security yard, several consultants said. Maxwell's notoriety and nature of her crime helping Epstein victimize teenage girls may make her a target. If she is still in denial that she did not contribute to the actions taken by herself and Mr. Epstein, she will be a pariah both inside and outside of the prison, said Letterhass Okun, who consults for white collar advice. Maxwell's education, wealth and former jet setting lifestyle will set her apart for most inmates, she said. For sure she's going to get exploited if she's on the yard folks, there's no doubt about it. Jeffrey Epstein was in the holdings cell for what, a few weeks and he was being exploited. You got to remember these prisoners have all day to sit around and come up with ways and plots and different scams and, and that's what they do. While Maxwell will have an advantage because of her access to cash for food, clothing, makeup and running shoes that other inmates can't afford, this can cause jealousy in others. Letterhouse Okun said Maxwell will likely be assigned a job where she'll make a paltry 12 to 14 cents an hour. Do it and don't complain. Letterhouse Oaken advised the worst thing she could do is, is whine about her situation. That is for sure. If you go to prison and you start whining and acting the fool, crying about your circumstances, you're in for it. And Ghislaine Maxwell, she better hope she goes to one of these low security facilities, folks. I've been saying it from the jump, none of these people are built for this. These people aren't from the street. They're not criminals in the, in the sense of the word that you expect when you hear about prison. These are cowards who victimized young girls and vulnerable people. And when they get to prison, well, guess what? The hunter becomes the hunted. Because these kinds of crimes, they don't go over very well in prison, folks. And somebody like Elaine Maxwell with access to all this money and affluence, you gotta know from the beginning she is going to be extorted, exploited and the rest of it if she's put on the main line. So I would expect Glenn Maxwell to end up in some kind of, you know, secure setting as far as the shoe or protective custody, not on the main line. And depending on what the charges are. I mean the sentencing is obviously I'm guessing she's going to end up in a medium security facility, but when you have her money, you never know. So there you have it folks. That's the article I was telling you about a couple of days ago. I wanted to just touch on that real quick to get an idea and give you folks an idea of what might be coming next for Maxwell as far as her incarceration. So that's gonna do it for me this morning. And there will be some more episodes out throughout the day, some context episodes and like I said, I have a three part series about the war on drugs and Gary Webb. Host: Bobby Capucci
This "Mega Edition" episode of The Epstein Chronicles dives deep into the media’s historical role in the Jeffrey Epstein case, the controversy surrounding Vicky Ward’s reporting, the fallout from Ghislaine Maxwell's indictment and conviction, and the ongoing legal battles—including against Prince Andrew. Host Bobby Capucci dissects key articles and updates listeners on transparency, accountability, and the pursuit of justice in these high-profile cases, critiquing the mainstream media and unpacking the complex interplay of power, privilege, and victimization at the case’s core.
Ward’s 2003 Vanity Fair Piece: Capucci analyzes the controversy over journalist Vicky Ward’s failure to include explicit abuse allegations from survivors Annie and Maria Farmer in her seminal Epstein profile, "The Talented Mr. Epstein."
Context and Contradiction: The New Yorker and Daily Beast have both recently scrutinized Ward’s role, with Ward publishing partial transcripts in her own defense—a move Capucci finds self-serving and unconvincing.
Quote:
"As a journalist, you shit the bed. And as a human being, you're not a very good one."
— Bobby Capucci (06:30)
Survivor Response: Both Annie and Maria Farmer are furious at Ward, stating she only cares about “prestige and money.”
Prosecution Offer: Prosecutors will drop two perjury counts if Maxwell’s sex trafficking conviction stands, to spare survivors the trauma of more testimony.
Juror Misconduct Angle: The defense pushes for a retrial based on jury selection irregularities (jurors potentially lying about prior abuse).
Analysis of where Maxwell will serve time:
Quote:
"This lady should not be called a socialite, an ex-socialite, any of that. She is a convicted sex offender. You made that bed, Ghislaine Maxwell. Now enjoy lying in it."
— Bobby Capucci (46:56)
Update on the Virginia Giuffre v. Prince Andrew civil suit:
Quote:
"[Giuffre] just wants to see this all the way through. You can't run from bullies. The only way to deal with a bully is to three piece them up. That's it. And that's what Virginia is looking to do here."
— Bobby Capucci (58:49)
Media Culture: Capucci extensively criticizes the “legacy media” for years of protecting Epstein and powerful abusers, failing survivors, and rehabilitating elite reputations.
Systemic Issues: The episode reflects on how both the media and the legal system continually enable or ignore abuse when power and money are involved.
On Ward’s Accountability:
On Media Elites:
On Maxwell’s Status:
On Survivor Pain:
On Broader Societal Blindness:
Capucci remains direct, irreverent, and distrustful of both the media and legal establishments. He provides candid, sometimes caustic analysis, frequently siding with survivors and those who demand transparency and accountability—while dismissing elite rationalizations and media self-preservation.
This episode provides a thorough, no-holds-barred examination of critical moments in the aftermath of the Epstein and Maxwell saga—especially the media’s complicity, survivor advocacy, and the ongoing legal reckoning. It’s essential listening for those wanting blunt analysis, survivor-centered insights, and up-to-the-minute developments stripped of PR spin and institutional deference.
