Les Wexner’s Epstein-related deposition landed less like a breakthrough and more like another controlled pass through already familiar terrain: Wexner said Epstein conned him, denied knowing anything about Epstein’s sex trafficking, denied...

What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. Over the past seven years or so, it's become rather obvious to anyone paying attention that Les Wexner was deeply entangled with Jeffrey Epstein. Whether it was financially or personally, these two shared quite the relationship. And that relationship has never been fully explained. And now with the Jeffrey Epstein controversy back in the news and people starting to get educated about what really happened, they have questions about Les Wexner and why he was never truly investigated. How come Wexner was never brought in and opposed? How come Wexner was never investigated for the allegations made against him by numerous people? And what motivated him to give a guy like Jeffrey Epstein the keys to the kingdom? Well, now he's going to be deposed by Congress, and hopefully we'll get some answers to those questions. Of course, I have my doubts that he's going to clarify anything, considering his age. He'll probably say that he's too old. Oh, I don't remember that. Ah, I'm too old. I don't know what you're talking about. Or he'll just plead the fifth. Because if you think that Les Wexner is going to out himself after all these years, you have not been paying attention. This is not the kind of guy who's going to out himself, and he's done his very best to avoid this controversy at all costs. But it looks like the storm has finally caught up to Les Wexner. The only question is, just how wet is he going to get? Today's article is from the Guardian, and the headline question swirl over Ohio Billionaire Les Wexner and his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. This article was authored by Stephen Starr. Les Wexner's alleged note to Jeffrey Epstein marking his 50th birthday in 2003 included a hand drawing of a woman's breasts. Oh, come on. Les Wexner is just a great guy, just an old fella, you know, a guy that's trying to live his life. You bothering him? Why you attacking his reputation. Imagine having that kind of outlook on life. You're worried about Les Wexner? Give me a break. This dude and his companies destroyed a whole ass Generation set up a whole generation to be groomed. But sure, let's give Les Wexner a pass because he gives some money to various charities. Do you people even listen to yourselves? And yet, today, the billionaire Wexner's name and portrait sits front and center across Ohio's most respected institution, the Ohio State University. I mean, not shocking, considering what we know about the university, what we know about the wrestling program, and what we know about Jim Jordan's inaction When it comes to what was going on, why is anyone shocked that they'd be in bed? No pun intended. We with Les Wexner as well. I mean, they let Dr. Strauss do whatever he wanted for all those years. On the college's sprawling campus north of downtown Columbus, there's the Wexner center for the Arts, the Ohio State University Wexner Medical center, the Wexner Jewish Student center, and the Les Wexner Football Complex. Every last one of those places should have his name ripped directly off the building. But they won't. They don't have any shame whatsoever. The only way that's going to occur is if Les Wexner is outed for the real scumbag that he is. But as of now, he still has that cover, right? They're still protecting him. His name and image are also found across Ohio State's university website. And the billionaire continues to serve as chair of the college's Wexner Medical center board. The dude created jeans and Brasil. Why is he on the Medical center board? Born In Dayton in 1937, the son of a Russian Jewish immigrant father, Wexner is among the most important figures in the rise of convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. The release last month of a trove of Epstein files by the Department of Justice saw at least half a dozen photos of Wexner. Look, it runs so much deeper than that. And we've talked about it all a million times. When it comes to Les Wexner, there's never been an explanation for his behavior, for why he did what he did. When it comes to Jeffrey Epstein, now we have the COVID story. Well, Epstein stole money from me, so that's why we weren't friends anymore. But I have my suspicions that that was baked in, that that was the escape hatch, if you will. Hey, look, Les, I ever get nailed, just say that you stole. That I stole money from you, and, you know, it'll be all good. You'll get your distance. And on Wexner's end, he'll say, well, we didn't decide to press charges because it was embarrassing. Does anyone believe that somebody stole that kind of money from you? You're just going to let it slide? Ah, let's just write it off. Especially a guy like Les Wexner. I highly doubt it. This dude probably knows the where every penny is. You think rich people get rich and stay rich by losing track of millions of dollars? By granting Epstein power of attorney over much of his vast wealth in 91, critics say Wexner played a key role in facilitating Epstein's social standing and vast influence over powerful world leaders. Well, yeah, if you're somebody else who has a bunch of dough and you see he's managing Les Wexner's money, you think to yourself, well, if he's handling Wexner's dough, then he can handle mine, too. So it gives him that air of legitimacy, right? And that opening that door in places like JP Morgan. So Les Wexner and his patronage of Jeffrey Epstein from the very beginning played a gigantic role in Jeffrey Epstein's rise. And that's certainly something that's not even debatable. And with much of Epstein's database yet to be released, observers say more evidence of Wexner and Epstein's close ties are likely to emerge in the weeks and months ahead. And I'm sure a lot of it's going to come as a shock to a lot of people. Not to you. You already know the kind of scumbag we're dealing with. You already know how much he helped Jeffrey Epstein on the rise, and you already know that Wexner has never answered any questions when it comes to his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. And, look, I know he's scheduled to be deposed, but I have my doubts. And like I said previously, my guess is he's going to say that there's some kind of medical issue that keeps him from remembering something in that realm. All the while, Donald Trump's relationship with Epstein lurks in the political background. With midterm elections on the horizon and. And Trump's base furious over the delay of the full release of the Epstein files, Democrats have accused the Trump administration of attempting to cover up the president's ties to Epstein. Yo, I'm as far away from a Democrat as you could possibly get. I don't trust either party. But let's not act like the Democrats are the only ones calling this a cover up. I'm calling it a cover up. And plenty of other people who are certainly not Democrats are calling it a cover up. And I think there's a coalition building of people who are just Fed up and sick. And I don't think it matters what your political affiliation is, as long as you have one goal in mind. Complete destruction of everybody who is involved in this. We can get back to our petty fighting later, because in this moment, there's only two sides, folks. Good and evil. And if you're on the side of Jeffrey Epstein and his enablers and the people trying to cover this up, I have bad news for you. You are not on the side of good. Trump says that he cut ties with Epstein in 2007. Wexner has denied any knowledge of Epstein's abuse and says he has cooperated with the FBI at every turn. Wexner has not been charged with any crime. The 88 year old says he cut ties with Epstein in 2007, denies any knowledge of his crimes, and claims Epstein stole millions of dollars from him. Despite his name appearing as a possible co conspirator by the FBI in its investigation into Epstein in 2019, no charges were ever filed against Wexner. Well, that's because the scope. And that's the excuse a lot of people like to use. Well, no charges were filed against anybody else. This is a big hoax. That was all part of the plan, you dumb. Pay attention, smooth brained idiot. The whole last reason that the charges were so narrow is so that it only caught Epstein up. Well, you thought they were going to give up the whole infrastructure, you dodo bird. The whole entire plan was based on Epstein being the front man and being a burnable asset. That's how this works. And then once he's gone, they all have plausible deniability, right? But the whole entire idea was for him to never get caught up, and that's why he got that sweetheart deal. And then the second time around, the narrow charges only included himself. Nobody else was hit with any indictments. Now, there might have been some sealed indictments that were never processed, but we all know the story here, and we all know that the scope was so narrow by design, if they were serious, they would have hit his ass with RICO like everybody else. So that's all you really need to know about what the FBI was up to, what the DOJ was up to. And now the people that want to defend Jeffrey Epstein, bunch of disgusting scumbags, try and use that as some kind of lever. Bro, that's not the kind of flex you think it is. It just proves the point that the whole entire investigation was tilted from day one. However, just days before Epstein pleaded guilty in Florida to soliciting sex with a child In June of 2008, Wexner emailed Epstein, offering his apologies for the situation he found himself in. All I can say is I feel sorry. Wexner wrote, always be careful. None of it lines up. And in my opinion, Les Wexner is a liar. That's how I feel. I don't trust anything he's saying. I don't trust any of the excuses that he's tried to give us. And I certainly don't trust anything that his spokespeople have to say. And look, that's not based on a gut feeling here. It's based on the facts. It's based on the lack of facts that have been provided by Les Wexner. Today, Wexner is making national news. The California congressman Ro Khanna recently listed him as one of six previously redacted names in the Epstein trove, where the FBI appears to have named him as as a co conspirator. Wexner is set to be deposed in front of the Oversight Committee on Wednesday. And you already know we're gonna have the whole transcript for you as soon as it becomes available. I'll get it added to the catalog because I really want to hear what this dude has to say for himself. All these years later. This is going to be the first time we actually get to hear from him. You'd think that somebody would have tracked him down and had a real conversation at some point, but when you have this kind of money, you have this kind of power, and you're throwing out $250,000 to the Republican Governor's association, you get a little bit of leeway, don't you? You get the benefit of the doubt. Meanwhile, Epstein survivors don't get any benefits and they get all the doubts. The model town that Epstein helped build and a culture of silence. Back in the early 1990s, New Albany was a sleepy Midwestern suburb home to 1600 people whose homes were dotted between vast corn and soybean fields. Columbus Monthly reported that in 1985, a candidate for the position of mayor of New Albany received 48 votes and won the election. Now, New Albany is a community of white picket fences, private driveways and and Georgian style homes whose most famous resident, Wexner, has built a mini empire. Wexner's 340 acre estate boasts several mansions and state of the art equestrian facilities. Even the homes bordering Wexner's estate, built by the billionaire in the 90s, are hidden away behind locked gates. And we all know what Maria said. We all know that Maria said that she was kidnapped and held against her will at this property at New Albany. Her father had to drive 12 hours to come and collect her. But yeah, Les Wexner, hell of a guy. Wexner's estate is so opulent that it fueled Instagram reels. The convicted sex trafficker and Epstein co conspirator Glenn Maxwell remarked last year that it was one of the biggest private homes I've ever been to. And that's coming from Maxwell.

Miss Stiff upper lip of British society. So that tells you just how big this property is, just how vast the whole entire area is. Across the road from Wexner's home is one of the top rated country clubs in the state. Designed by Jack Nicklaus. Abercrombie and Fitch, the clothing brand once owned by Wexner which courted controversy for selling thongs marketed at pre teenage girls in 2002, is headquartered in New Albany. Yeah, the same company that Jeffrey Epstein used to to rope girls in. Oh yeah, that company. The same company that groomed the whole generation. You got it. Abercrombie and Fitch folks. Marketing thongs to teenagers. But yeah, Les Wexner, no questions about his behavior while he was with Jeffrey Epstein seems like a very well adjusted man. Right, right. All right folks, we're gonna wrap up this episode right here. And in the next episode we're gonna pick up where we left off. All of the information that goes with this episode can be found in the description box. What's up everyone? And welcome to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode we're going to pick up where we left off with the article about Les Wexner. Along the city's eastern fringes is a huge under construction semiconductor fabrication plant plus data centers on owned by Google and Meta. New Albany was also known to Epstein. Epstein owned at least two properties in New Albany. A 3,500 square foot home close to the country club that was sold to Wexner's wife Abigail in 2007 for $0 and a palatial mansion hidden deep behind gates off East Dublin Granville Road and inside the Wexner estate which country records show Epstein bought for from a company owned by Wexner and others for 3 1/2 million in 92 and sold in 1998. That same year Epstein was named as co president of the New Albany company alongside Wexner. So for all the people out there that don't believe in the vast human trafficking allegations. How can you even deny that there was a ton of money laundering and God knows what else going on? We have tangible evidence of that. What is that? No big deal? Is that okay? Because if it's okay, then everybody that's rotting in prison for 20 years for wire fraud, money laundering and everything else, well, they should be released, right? Because if it's no big deal, then it's no big deal. But we know that in reality, it's a big deal, but only for us, not for them. They can launder money, they can traffic people, they can do whatever they want as long as you have the kind of money that Les Wexner has. It was at the latter residence that the artist, Maria Farmer, says that she was sexually assaulted by Epstein. Farmer, considered an up and coming artist in New York, was at the estate for several months during the summer of 1996. She was serving as an artist in residence at the behest of of Jeffrey Epstein. Jennifer Freeman, Farmer's lawyer, says during that time in late July or early August, Farmer says Epstein and Maxwell sexually assaulted her. And as most of you know, I know Maria, and I've interviewed Maria several times, and I certainly believe what she has to say about Les Wexner and about Jeffrey Epstein during that time. Amy. In late July or early August, Farmer says Epstein and Maxwell sexually assaulted her. Her attorney says she was kept captive for many hours, for many days. Maria was physically threatened by a local sheriff and other persons connected with Wexner and prevented her from leaving the New Albany property, says a complaint filed last May by Farmer's lawyer on her behalf against the US Government for negligence. The complaint also claims Farmer contacted the FBI to report that Epstein had been sexually assaulting her and that he, he and others were involved in the sexual exploitation and trafficking of minors. The complaint alleges that the FBI agent taking Farmer's call in 1996 hung up on her and no one from the agency ever attempted to follow up with her. Well, we know that she did report him because we got the documentation in the dump. So. So if she was telling the truth about that, that should lead us to believe she's telling the truth about the rest of it. Farmer's lawyer said she had no interaction with Wexner in New Albany during that time. However, Virginia Roberts, one of the most prominent victims of Epstein sex trafficking enterprise and who died by suicide last year, alleged that she was sexually trafficked to Wexner along with others. It's something Wexner has denied Mr. Wexner was unaware of and never participant in any of the abhorrent behavior engaged in by Epstein against Epstein's victims. Wexner's attorneys wrote at the time the news emerged, Mr. Wexner never met Ms. Roberts. Any claims of the contrary were not true. Tom Davies, the spokesperson for Wexner, told the Guardian prior to the News coverage of Ms. Farmer, Mr. Wexner and had no knowledge of her, never met her, never spoke with her, and never spoke with Mr. Epstein or anyone else about her. No, we have no idea. Again, I have no idea who Jeffrey Epstein is. That was a real person. Wild. I thought Epstein was a fake guy and he was just made up. In a 2019 statement by Wexner made to associates of L Brands, the company he founded and led until 2020 and shared with Guardian by Davies, he wrote, I would not have continued to work with any individual capable of such egregious, sickening behavior as has been reported about him. Oh, yeah, sure, we all believe you, Les Wexner. But evidence has emerged suggesting that the relationship was close. In the note Wexner gave to Epstein on the occasion of the latter's 50th birthday in 2003, Wexner, above the drawing of one of the women's breasts, allegedly wrote, I wanted to get you what you want. So here it is. I know, I know. No big deal. Just locker room talk, right? What are you, some kind of puritan? Time to move on. Last July, Maxwell told the Deputy U.S. attorney General and and colleagues that Epstein ran New Albany. A number of New Albany residents and business owners approached by the Guardian declined to comment on Wexner and his ties to Epstein or the former's role in life in New Albany. Emails sent to the town's mayor, Sloan Spalding, were not responded to. Yo, do you guys not understand yet? Les Wexner runs that whole entire place. And it's not because he's charismatic. It's because he's rich. As under Wexner's governance, models at Victoria's Secret claimed abuse took place for years. A 2019 Hulu documentary claimed the company ran campaigns in the early 2000s that specifically targeted teenage girls. In 2020, L Brands, which owned Victoria's Secret at the time, issued a statement to the New York Times that express regret without disputing the claims. Wexner has even been the subject of a 2022 pop song referred to as an old man who lives in Ohio making money off girls like me. Columbus, a 20 minute drive west of New Albany, has been Wexner's town for decades. In 1985, he was a founding member of the Ohio State University Foundation. By 2002, he and others established the Columbus Partnership, on paper a non profit, but which today represents large businesses that courted controversy for allegedly steering millions of dollars in state funding. Alongside longtime friend and New Albany developer Jack Kessler, its executive committee is the who's who of some of the most powerful corporate names in the region. The Guardian has contacted the Columbus Partnership for for comment. Ohio State faces controversy over Wexner ties For decades, Wexner has loomed large over the Ohio State University community, which enrolls more than 80,000 students from more than 100 countries every year. The college is a cornerstone economic powerhouse in Ohio, employing more than 53,000 people, but like other colleges is it's facing increasing challenges. Well, maybe, just maybe you should stop increasing tuition rate. That might help out a little bit. Enrollment has fallen by several thousand students since 2019. At the beginning of the current academic year, the university recorded the biggest fall in number of first year students in its 155 year history. Since freshmen are required to live in campus accommodation, a source of millions of dollars for the university, a significant decline in enrollment could undermine its wider finances, making it more reliant on support from donors such as Wexner, who graduated from Ohio State in 1959. Wexner and his Limited Brands foundation have donated hundreds of millions of dollars to Ohio State of over the decades, but now the money that it's been taking from Wexner risks its reputation as it simultaneously deals with a decades old sexual abuse scandal. Former students at Ohio State are suing the university for 177 counts of alleged sexual abuse by a former college employee, Richard Strauss, a medical doctor who worked there for decades until the 1990s, a time when Wexner served on the university's board for months. Former student athletes have attempted to subpoena Wexner to appear in court to investigate what role, if any, the billionaire played in Strauss's employment. However, until now, Wexner's private security has allegedly prevented any delivery of subpoena documents to him. Even the Franklin County Sheriff's Office failed on two occasions to have documents delivered. Wechner's address In December, lawyers for the university even contested a motion by a group called Survivors of OSU that has called for Wexner to be deposed. Imagine being that locked in. Imagine having that kind of support from the university that you have kids or men now who are abused who want some justice. And instead of cutting ties with Wexner as a show of support. You just get deeper into the hole with Wexner. So Ohio State University, they've earned everything that's coming their way. But Wexner's close ties to Epstein and Ohio State have fueled a groundswell of criticism of the college. The connection between Epstein and Wexner is undeniable. It does not give a good look to osu. At the very least, we as representatives should be calling on the institution the to further investigate Les Wexner and his connection to Epstein, says State Representative Munira Abdullah, whose district includes New Albany. Wexner is a big part of that town. First of all, we want to know where is Wexner? He's not come to testify. People want to hear. It brings bad press to the town. People want accountability. Yeah, I highly doubt that. Nobody in New Albany, at least nobody in power. A university review into donations by Ohio State published in 2020 found that Epstein and his foundation had donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the university years earlier. Millions of dollars more were donated by Wexner through Epstein to the university. Ohio State Officials say that $336,000 received by Epstein and J. Epstein foundation was thereafter donated to the the State of Ohio's Human Trafficking Fund. Oh well, that absolves them. No big deal. Everything's cool now as they have Les Wexner's name plastered all over the school. Somebody make it make sense. Several state representatives, including Abdul Ali, are set to hold a press conference on February 24th calling for the removal of Wexner's name from OSU facilities. The university's website, however, notes that removing a naming designation is a serious step that will only occur under exceptional and narrow circumstances. Yeah, I guess being involved in the world's biggest human trafficking scheme and money laundering plot doesn't rate. Keep that in mind. It recently declined a request to have his name removed from a football practice facility. Thus far, the University has paid out more than 60 million to 296 Strauss survivors, according to university spokesperson Ben Johnson. Since 2018, Ohio State has sincerely and persistently tried to reconcile with survivors of Strauss's abuse through monetary and non monetary means, says Johnson, adding that all male students who filed lawsuits have been offered the opportunity to settle. The remaining plaintiffs elected to continue litigation and it's important that we allow the legal process to proceed. All the while. Ohio State will open a new 26 story, State of the art university hospital facility on the main college campus this month. Its top three floors is a maternity ward that the University claims will offer breathtaking views a few dozen feet overhead. In a large white print, Wexner's name appears above all others. So look, folks, you know the score. And you know that these institutions, you know, these businesses, they don't give a. And the only way anything's ever going to change is if we force the matter. And in order to do that, we have to hear from people like Les Wexner. So we'll see what he has to say when he's deposed on Wednesday tomorrow. And once those transcripts are ready to go, we'll get them added to the catalog. As far as this one. Well, that's gonna do it. All of the information that goes with this episode can be found in the description box. What's up, everyone? And welcome to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. As of the time that we're recording this episode, Les Wexner is sitting down with Congress being deposed. But before he went in for the deposition, he actually released a statement. So in this episode, we're going to take a look at that statement and see what Les Wexner had to say for himself. So with that said, let's dive right into the statement. I am pleased to testify today. Pleased because it's an opportunity to set the record straight. Over the years, I've been the subject of outrageous, untrue statements and hurtful rumor, innuendo and speculation. Let me state from the start, I was naive, foolish, and gullible to put any trust in Jeffrey Epstein. He was a con man. And while I was conned, I have done nothing wrong and have nothing to hide. I completely and irrevocably cut ties with Epstein nearly 20 years ago when I learned that he was an abuser, a crook, and a liar. And let me be crystal clear. I never witnessed nor had any knowledge of Epstein's criminal activity. I was never a participant nor a co conspirator in any of Epstein's illegal activity. To my enormous embarrassment and regret, I, like many others, were duped by a world class con man. I can't undo that part of my personal history, even as I regret ever having met him. Before going any further, though, I want to acknowledge the survivors of Epstein's terrible crimes and the devastation that each of them has endured as a result. The pain that he inflicted upon them is unfathomable to me. My heart goes out to each one of them. I want you to know something about the man seated before you. I am 88 years old. I, a husband to Abigail since 1993, the father of four adult children. And proudly a grandfather. I've lived in Ohio my entire life. I'm a philanthropist, community builder, business owner and founder and former CEO of L Brands. I constantly strive to live my life in an ethical manner in line with my moral compass, devoting time and and energy to my faith, my community, my business, my L Brands associates and my family and my friends. I founded the Limited Stores in 1963 with a five thousand dollar loan from my Aunt Ida. I grew the company from one small store, the Limited, by creating, acquiring and leading the development of a large multi divisional retail company of of brands such as Express Bath and Body Works, Victoria's Secret, Lerner Lane Bryant, Abercrombie and Fitch and Henry Bendell. I took the company public in 1969 and was the longest serving CEO of a publicly traded company at the time of my retirement in 2020. While also running L Brands, I planned, marketed, designed and developed both the Village of New Albany, one of the largest planned communities in America, and Easton Town center, an innovative outdoor retail center in my hometown of Columbus, Ohio. As an important part of my long standing commitment to philanthropy, I created and continue to personally participate in the Wexner foundation, which develops leaders and public servants. The total amount of our family's philanthropic giving to worthy causes exceeds a billion dollars. Nearly every waking hour during my work weeks was spent on the business. My weekends were also filled by business responsibilities. My real estate development interests, community charitable projects and ultimately my growing family. Given these demanding time commitments, I long ago began hiring others to manage my personal finances. Starting with Harold Levine, then Epstein, followed by Dennis Hirsch and now a combination of my wife Abigail and an outside multi family office. I was introduced to Epstein in the mid to late 80s by Bob Meester, the former vice chairman of Aon. Bob knew I needed help managing my personal finances and suggested that I speak with Epstein. I did not rely solely on Bob's recommendation. I consulted Ace Greenberg and Jimmy Kane of Bear Stearns, Epstein's former employer, both of whom endorsed Epstein without hesitation. Epstein also offered a reference, Eli de Rothschild. When I spoke with Eli or Ellie, he highly recommended Epstein based upon what work Epstein had done for his family. At first, Epstein was unwilling to take me on as a client. In fact, for the first few years I was acquainted with him. Epstein offered me advice here and there. While explaining that giving individual finance advice was not his focus and refusing to accept compensation, he said he was assisting me as a favor. Little did I realize that from the very start Epstein was conniving to gain my trust as my financial resources and Time demands continue to grow. I formally hired Epstein to manage my personal finances. Because my public company and other duties required my full attention. I provided Epstein with a power of attorney so he could execute transactions quickly without constantly requiring my signature. The need for power of attorney was clear to me and and I provided the same scope of authority to Epstein as I did to his successor, Dennis Hirsch. What I did not anticipate was Epstein misusing the trust I placed in him despite his fiduciary obligations to act in my best interest. What is so clear only now is that Epstein lived a double life. He was clever, diabolical and a master manipulator. He was meticulous in revealing to me only only glimpses into the life in which he was a sophisticated financial guru who consulted with heads of state, high ranking politicians, royalty, university presidents, professors, CEOs, musicians and other luminaries. He was a member of the Trilateral Commission and was a trustee at Rockefeller University. While I did not socialize in Epstein social circle, he often told me a about his famous acquaintances and important positions that he held. And at times I experienced what seemed to be random chance encounters, probably orchestrated by Epstein with prominent individuals who said they knew Epstein. Over the course of many years, he carefully used his acquaintance with important individuals to curate an aura of legitimacy that he then used to expand his network of acquaintances and and apparent credibility even farther. The other life that he led that we now know was full of unthinkable crimes he most carefully and fully hid from me. He knew I would never have tolerated his horrible behavior. Not any of it. At no time did I ever witness the side of Epstein's life for which he is now famous. I'm the father of two girls now women. And the thought of what he did makes me sick. I dated Abigail for three years and have been married to her for 33 years. Were completely devoted to each other. And to be clear, never once in the 36 years have I been unfaithful to Abigail in any way, shape or form. Never. Any suggestion to the contrary is absolutely and entirely false. Again, to be clear, I never saw or heard about Epstein being in the company of a minor girl. To the contrary, he led me to believe he was in serious and long term relationships with two women. Dr. Eva Anderson and later Glenn Maxwell. Both of whom he said he contemplated marrying. I was never on his airplane. Contrary to rumor, I did not give Epstein the New York townhouse. He purchased it from me for what I was told was appraised value. After we moved out, I never set foot in that house. Again, I visited Epstein's island only once, shortly after he purchased it, when Abigail, our young children, and I stopped for a few hours one morning while we were on a cruise on our boat. Again, the side of Epstein that he chose to reveal to me was different from the predator who he eventually was exposed to be. As I have stated before, my contact with Epstein entirely terminated nearly 20 years ago. In late 2006, Epstein told Abigail that he had a legal issue in Palm beach, but insisted that what he referred to as baseless trumped up charges by an over aggressive police chief would be dismissed. In 2007, however, Epstein informed Abigail that his situation could become messy and that he might have to spend time away. To say the least, this was shocking. At the same time, Epstein suggested that Abigail could handle our personal finances if he were to become unavailable. And for the first time, he provided her with the financial information she would need. Due to the complexity of the information, it took time to unravel. But after reviewing the information, it became clear to Abigail that Epstein had stolen vast sums from our family. Once I learned about his abusive conduct and theft from my family, I never spoke to Epstein again. Never. In September of 2007, nine months before he pled guilty in Florida, we revoked Epstein's power of attorney, removed his access to our bank accounts and and forced him to resign from all affiliated entities. Confronted with his financial wrongdoing by Abigail, Epstein agreed and did return a substantial amount of money. Even while continuing to maintain his total innocence of any wrongdoing, never dropping the con. In light of his eventual guilty plea and deception of our family, we completely severed our relationship with Epstein. Epstein was permanently and irrevocably out of my life. While others visited Epstein in jail and associated with him after his release, I did not, nor did I witness, condone or enable his crimes in any way. I want to thank the committee for its effort to get to the bottom of Epstein's con and illegal activity. I hope you are successful in uncovering the truth and bringing closure to all survivors. If I'm able to assist you in that effort in answering your questions, I'm grateful for the opportunity to do so. Alright, so that is the statement made by Les Wexner. And as you can imagine, I have a few things to add. But we're going to do that in a different episode so this one can stand on its own. That way you folks can listen to his words and come to your own conclusion. If you believe what he's saying or if you don't, all of the information that goes with this episode can be found in the description box. What's up, everyone? And welcome to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. Les Wexner was deposed yesterday by members of Congress. And according to reports, the vast majority of them felt like Les Wexner wasn't being exactly truthful. And that should not come as a shock to anybody, considering how deeply entwined Jeffrey Epstein and Les Wexner were. What, you think he's just going to incriminate himself and make it easy on us? Of course not. So Wexner was never going to be the Rosetta Stone. He was never going to give them the information they needed. But with that said, we'll have to wait until the transcript becomes available until we have a HD view of what went down. So in this episode, what we're going to do is take a look at what's being reported, and then when the transcripts become available, we'll get those bad boys added to the catalog as well. But first things first. This article is from the ap, and the headline, billionaire Les Wexner says he was duped by advisor Jeffrey Epstein, a world class con man. Nobody buys that he was duped by Epstein, huh? Okay, I guess one of the smartest, richest men in the world duped by Jeffrey Epstein to the tune of what, 47 million or so? Imagine getting $47 million pilfered from you by a world class conman and not reporting that to the police or the FBI or whoever. Well, I guess 47 million means nothing to Les Wexner. Must be nice. The billionaire behind the retail empire that once blanketed shopping malls with names such as Victoria's Secret and Abercrombie and Fitch told members of Congress on Wednesday that he was duped by a world class con man. Close financial advisor Jeffrey Epstein. Les Wexner also denied knowing about the late sex offenders crimes or participating in Epstein's abuse of girls and young women. So I think the situation with Wexner is mainly about financials. If you want to slam the door shut on Wexner and maybe get them on something, then financials are going to be the way to do it. And it's just like Prince Andrew over in the uk you open the door with the trade secrets, and then from there, all bets are off. And it's really wild for me to see how many people don't understand how these investigations go. Do you think they just show up with a smoking gun? That's not how it works. They open the investigation, they collect circumstantial evidence, and Then once that evidence is collected, they bring it to a judge. They say to the judge, hey, look, here's what we have. Can we get a warrant for so and so? And that's how all of these cases are built. So when you hear people talking about, oh, well, that's circumstantial evidence, they really just don't know what they're talking about. Because when you have a gigantic, sprawling investigation such as this, you have to have an inroad. And if that inroad is a financial crime, then so be it. And then from there it becomes sprawling, right? There's something called a superseded indictment. And what that means is later on down the road, if you're indicted for something, if they find other crimes, they can adjust that indictment and supersede it with a new indictment charging you with new crimes that they found during their investigation. So it's laughable when you see people out here talking about, well, this has nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein, you dumb morons. First of all, it has everything to do with Epstein, considering he passed the information on to Epstein. Second of all, if you think the investigation is going to end here, when it comes to the confidential information, you're smoking something. Because once this door was opened, once this Pandora's box was emptied, there was no going back. I was naive, foolish and gullible to put any trust in Jeffrey Epstein. He was a con man. And while I was conned, I have done nothing wrong and have nothing to hide. The 88 year old retired founder of L Brand said in a statement to the House Oversight and Reform Committee released before his interview. The panel's Democrats had subpoenaed him after the latest Justice Department release of Epstein. Related documents revealed new details about Wexner's relationship with a well connected financier. Ranking member Representative James Comer, a Kentucky Republican, said Wexner answered every question asked of him during the six hour procedure. A video and transcript are to be released soon. Yo. Comer hasn't met an Epstein friend. That he doesn't like anything that Donald Trump says Comer is willing to do. And it's really pathetic to watch. Do these people not understand that Donald Trump is going to be out of office soon? What then? What are you guys going to do? What is going to be the narrative? What's going to be the party line? We protect pedophiles, we don't pursue disgusting people. Money laundering's okay. I mean, what's going to be the next slogan? Because I promise you there are going to be campaign ads littered throughout the election season that have the GOP framed as people that were protecting Jeffrey Epstein and his friends. Make no mistake about it. Or maybe they'll use this one. Look, it wasn't pedophilia. The girls were 15 and 16. I mean, that's the level we're at now with the people trying to defend this. I mean, there's a whole group of people out there that have, like, made it their life's work now to try and make Jeffrey Epstein out to be not the monster that he really was. This is bizarre. And honestly, I think a lot of it has to do with them being jealous that they missed the story. They weren't on the story from the jump. So now what they're trying to do is demean it. And it's pretty odd that the vast majority of them are people that are pro Israel. And as you all know, I'm not somebody that sits here and shits on Israel all the time. And I don't think that Jeffrey Epstein was a Mossad spy. But there's no doubt that there is a lot of pushback coming from the Pro Israel Brigade, who feels like this is damaging to Israel. So they're going to do everything in their power to try and demean the claims that are coming out about Jeffrey Epstein. And, of course, Wexner is somebody that's very powerful in that lobby, so they're gonna deny Wexner's role, for sure. Oh, he had nothing to do with it. This is all overblown. Yada, yada, yada. Wexner described himself to the lawmakers as a philanthropist, community builder, and grandfather who always strove to live my life in an ethical manner, in line with my moral compass. According to the statement, he said he was eager to set the record straight about his ties with Epstein. Their relation ended bitterly in 2007 after the Wexners discovered he'd been stealing from them. They discovered he'd been stealing and didn't do about it. Didn't report him, didn't try and get that money back. No clawback, nothing. Oh, Epstein gave us some back. Sure he did. I've always said, and I continue to say, that that was part of the hustle. That was the escape hatch. If Epstein ever got nailed, Wexner could just say, look, he stole from me. I was a victim, too. And that's what all these people try to do, set themselves up as the victim. Meanwhile, there are literally over a thousand women and girls who have been abused. But, sure, you're the victim. As one of Epstein's most prominent former friends. Wexner has spent years answering for their decades long association. And he sought to use the proceeding to dispel what he called outrageous, untrue statements and hurtful rumor, innuendo and speculation that have shadowed him. So if what Maria said about him isn't true, why didn't Wexner sewer? All these people are so sue happy. Why didn't Wexner sewer? Could it be that he doesn't want to go to discovery? Could that have something to do with it? I think that's the whole story. Honestly, none of these guys want to go to discovery because they know they'll get crushed. Representative Robert Garcia, a California Democrat who sat in on Wednesday's interview, expressed skepticism in comments to reporters gathered near the proceeding. Well, yeah, he wasn't being honest. I don't even have to see the transcripts to know that Wexner was being evasive. There is no single person was more involved in providing Jeffrey Epstein with financial support to commit his crimes than Les Wexner. He said that's not untrue. As much as I don't like Mr. Garcia, that is not an untrue statement. Les Wexner is at the nexus of all of this when we're talking about financials. In response to allegations by prominent late Epstein victim Virginia Roberts, who claimed in court documents that Wexner was among the men, Epstein trafficked her, too. Wexner testified to utter devotion to his wife of 33 years, Abigail. He said he'd never once been unfaithful in any way, shape or form. Never. Any suggestion to the contrary is absolutely and entirely false. You know, he never sued Virginia either, and Virginia said that he was part of the abuse. So if somebody said that you were abusing them and that you were, you know, part of a trafficking ring, wouldn't you sue them? I know I would. Especially if I had the money that Les Wexner has. So why didn't he do it? If he was so truthful and Virginia is such a liar, why didn't he sue her? I'll tell you why. Because he's the liar. That's what I think. Wexner's name appears more than 1,000 times in the Epstein files, which. Which does not imply guilt. And Wexner has never been charged with any crimes. His spokesperson said the number of mentions is not expected or unexpected given their long running ties. Well, I agree with that. The mentions don't mean you're guilty, but it means that you are closer than you let on. And if his name was mentioned a thousand times in this dump. How many times is it mentioned in the ones they won't release? That's the question we should be asking. Epstein first met Leslie Wexner through a business associate in 1986. Oh, yeah, I'm sure that's the story. It was an opportune time for Wexner's finances. The Ohio business owner had grown a single limited store in Columbus into a suite of 1980s mall staples, the Limited Express, Lane Bryant and Victoria's Secret, Bath and Body Works, Abercrombie and Fitch, Lerner, White Barn Candle Company, and Henry Bendel would follow. Wexner told lawmakers that it was several years before he turned over management of his vast fortune to Epstein after the master of manipulator connived to gain his trust. Such absolute bs. The grand con man, Jeffrey Epstein. The guy was a. Okay, let's just stop around. Go and read the emails yourself. The guy was an absolute moron. He gave Epstein power of attorney in 1991, allowing Epstein to make investments, do business deals, purchase property, and help Wexner as he developed New Albany from a small rural city to a thriving, upscale Columbus suburb. Epstein had excellent judgment and. And unusually high standards, Wexner told Vanity fair in a 2003 interview. And he was always a most loyal friend. Oh, a most loyal friend, is it? That's nice. Jeffrey Epstein, the most loyalist of friends. On Wednesday, the billionaire said he didn't circulate in Epstein's social circle, but often heard accounts of his encounters with other wealthy people. Everybody else was doing it, but not me. I didn't do it. Epstein carefully used his acquaintance with important individuals to curate an aura of legitimacy, Wexner said. He said he visited Epstein's infamous island only once, stopping for a few hours one morning with his wife and young children while they were cruising on their boat. So you're out on your yacht. I'm sure you have a chef of your own, but sure, let's pull into Jeffrey Epstein's island, spend one hour there eating, and leave. Well, that sounds legit. Takes longer to dock the boat than you spent on the island, huh? All right, cool. It's interesting that Mr. Wexner has already begun to clarify in his mind that somehow he and Epstein weren't even friends. Garcia told reporters he should be very clear that the two were very close. Per reporting they spent a lot of time together. In one of the newly released documents, Epstein sent rough notes to himself about Wexner, saying, never, ever did anything without informing Les and would never give him up. Another document, an apparent draft letter to Wexner, said the two had gang stuff for over 15 years and were mutually indebted to each other as Wexner helped make Epstein rich and Epstein helped make Wexner richer. Yo financial crimes in abundance. I'm talking about everything from money laundering to God knows what. Wexner spokesperson said Wexner never received the letter, characterizing it as fitting a pattern of untrue, outlandish and delusional statements made by Epstein in desperate attempts to perpetuate his lies and justify his misconduct. Or could it be that he was memorializing the situation for himself? He never thought anybody else was going to see those emails. Wexner told the congressional representatives that Epstein lived a double life, presenting himself to his wealthy clients as a financial guru with steady girlfriends, while the most carefully and fully hiding his misdeeds with underage girls. He knew that I would have never tolerated his horrible behavior, not any of it, he said. The problem is he wasn't hiding it. He had a bunch of young girls around him all the time and here's something nobody else talks about, but I will. Jean Luc Brunel was sending Jeffrey Epstein 14, 15, 16, 17 year old girls from South America on a regular basis. Just go and look at the Maritza Vasquez deposition. She breaks it all down. Now you can dispute what she says and say you don't believe her and I guess that's okay. But when you look at the evidence and put it together, it's obvious what was happening. So Les Wexner should just save it. I don't believe for a second that somebody like Les Wexner had no idea what was going on. Some accusers said Epstein touted his ties to Wexner and claimed he could help get them jobs modeling for the Victoria's Secret catalog. One woman, an aspiring actor and model, told the FBI that Epstein said he was best friends with longtime Victoria's Secret owner and that she'd have to learn to be comfortable in her underwear and not be approved, according to a recently released grand jury testimony. Another woman said she reported Epstein to police in 97 after he groped her during what she thought was a modeling interview for the Victoria's Secret catalog. After Epstein's 2019 arrest, Wexner's lawyers told investigators that that the businessman had heard a rumor that Epstein might be holding himself out as connected to Victoria's Secret. Prosecutors wrote a recently disclosed memorandum summarizing the probe. When Wexner asked Epstein about it, Epstein denied Doing so, the lawyer said. According to the memo, Wexner did not address the specific issue in his statement Wednesday, but repeatedly lamented being deceived by Epstein, an abuser, a crook, and a liar. El Brand sold off Victoria's Secret in 2020 in one of Wexner's final acts as chair. Wexner did not publicly reveal until after Epstein's arrest on federal sex trafficking charges in July of 2019 that he had severed their relationship. In a Wexner foundation letter that August, he said that happened in 2007, but the Justice Department's newly released records show show the two were in touch after that. Oh, what do you know? Les Wexner's lying again. Come on. These guys are actually lying about their relationship with Epstein. Why would they do that? There's nothing to see here. It's all just overblown, right? It's a moral panic. Fucking goofballs. Wexner emailed Epstein on June 26, 2008, after a plea deal was announced that would require him to serve 18 months in a Florida jail on a state charge of soliciting prostitution from a minor in order to avoid federal prosecution. He wound up serving 13 months. Abigail told me the result, all I can say is I feel sorry. You violated your own number one rule. Always be careful, wexner wrote. Epstein replied, no excuse. Nobody had any idea, huh? Epstein had rules that he violated the that Wexner knew about, but he had no idea what Epstein was up to. That's the narrative, folks, and he's sticking to it. His spokesman said that the 2007 date Wexner cited in 2019 applied to firing Epstein as a financial adviser, revoking his power of attorney and removing his name from Wexner's bank accounts. Wexner also said in 2019 letter that Epstein had misappropriated vast sums of his family's money while overseeing his finances. An investigative memo from the latest document release says Wexner's attorneys told investigators in 2008 that Epstein had repaid him 100 million. Wexner said in a Wednesday statement that Epstein returned a substantial amount of the undisclosed total. I don't believe that. I'm sorry. I don't believe it. And if he did, it was all a baked in. Excuse me. Garcia said Congressional investigators have identified more than 1 billion that was either transferred, provided in stocks, or given directly to Wexner by Epstein, though Wexner appears to be unaware of much of it. I'm an old man. I don't remember. What do you want from me? Has anybody seen my shoes and my glasses? On Wednesday, Wexner testified he had never seen Epstein, which with any young girls, and acknowledged the unfathomable pain he inflicted, even as discoveries in the Epstein files have placed new pressure on him. One survivor, Maria Farmer, said a redacted FBI report contained in the document released vindicated her long standing claim that she filed one of the earliest complaints against Epstein while she was under his employee in 1996 working on an art project at the Wexner estate. Well, yeah, she said that a million times, and it turned out to be true. Meanwhile, survivors of sweeping sexual abuse scandal at the Ohio State University are citing Wexner's association with Epstein to try and get his name removed from a campus football complex. And university nurses also want his name scrubbed from the Wexner Medical Center. You blame him? Imagine walking into work every day with that dude's name pasted on the door. No, thank you. So, look, as far as Wexner goes, this was the first step. Get him under oath. Let's see what he has to say, and then start digging from there. And hopefully that's what happens. Because if anybody should be answering questions about their relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, Les Wexner is most certainly near the top of the list.
