Todd Blanche made an appearance before the Senate yesterday, and of course he had some questions thrown at him that had to do with Jeffrey Epstein. And according to Todd baby Billy Blanche, he won't be recommending that Ghislaine Maxwell gets a pardon. The only problem with that is, well, besides that he's a liar is that his boss is the one who makes that decision. So it has nothing to do with Todd Blanche. If Donald Trump wants to pardon Ghislaine Maxwell, that's what he's gonna do. So forgive me if I don't take any comfort in Todd Blanche telling us that's not gonna happen. Today's article was published by the Guardian and the headline Todd Blanche says he would not Recommend a pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell. This article was authored by Anna Betts. Todd Blanche, the acting US Attorney general, told lawmakers on Tuesday that he would not recommend a pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell, the longtime associate of Jeffrey Epstein who's serving a 20 year prison sentence for sex trafficking crimes. Well, isn't that noble of you? What a great guy. Todd Blanche is not going to recommend a pardon for a child molester. Hey Todd, why'd you move her? Why don't we start there? Ghislaine Maxwell should have never been moved from Tallahassee to Texas. Still no answers. Blanche comments came during a Senate hearing on Tuesday where he was testifying before the Appropriations Subcommittee over budget requests for the Justice Department. During one exchange, Chris Van Hollen, a Democrat from Maryland, had asked Blanche whether the Justice Department, and he is the acting Attorney general, could commit to not recommending a pardon for Maxwell. Yes, I can commit to that, of course. Blanche, who's a former personal lawyer for Trump, responded, well, what does it matter? He's just saying whatever he thinks people want to hear. If Donald Trump wants to pardon Clayne Maxwell, that's what's going to happen. Now, look, I'm not going to tell you that that's definitely for sure going to go down. I don't know. And if he would have asked me a year ago, I would have said no way. But now all bets are off, and that's because the Epstein situation has made Trump and the Trump administration even more unpredictable than ever. The statement comes as Maxwell exhausted a series of appeals of her conviction with the U.S. supreme Court in October declining to hear her petition. Why would they want to hear it? We all saw the trial. We all saw the evidence. Did Glenn Maxwell really think she was going to be able to her way out of a conviction? Not going to happen. Not with the court. Now, maybe with Donald Trump and his buddies, but now with the court? Zero chance. Earlier this year, Maxwell appeared before the House Oversight and Reform Committee, but invoked her Fifth Amendment right and refused to answer the panel's questions. Her attorney told lawmakers that she would only speak if granted clemency. Granted clemency. What about just burying her under the jail, you know, until her sentence is over? There gotta be a basement, right? Put her there. No chick fil a, no playing with puppies, just darkness. I'm done with these people, especially people that have already been convicted. And in April, reports emerged that members of the committee were divided over whether Trump should consider pardoning Maxwell in exchange for her cooperation in the panel's Epstein investigation. Well, he doesn't have to worry about Thomas Massie anymore or Marjorie Taylor Greene. So it looks like the gop, they'll be able to run roughshod. But that also means the GOP owns this Epstein issue now. And I promise you this is going to have lasting effects that outlast Donald Trump. So all these people out here that are, you know, running their fat yaps, carrying water for the administration, just remember, this administration isn't forever, but you're shame when it comes to Epstein. That most certainly is. Last year, the Trump administration faced growing pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation. It dispatched Blanche, who was deputy Attorney general at the time, to interview Maxwell about the Epstein case. The interview, conducted over two days in July, was followed by the Justice Department releasing the transcripts and Audio recordings Shortly after that meeting in August, Maxwell was transferred from low security prison in Tallahassee, Florida to a minimum security camp in Texas where most prisoners are serving time for non violent offenses and white collar crime. At the time, experts described the move as unprecedented. Do you think they would have given El Chapo that kind of deal? What about El Mayo? Probably not, huh? But Glenn Maxwell, let's get her moved asap. Come on, her crimes weren't that bad. They're only crimes against children. No big deal. Since then, reports have surfaced that Maxwell is much happier at the Texas facility than she was at her previous prison. And there have been allegations that she's receiving favorable treatment. Of course, Todd Blanche denied that too. Favorable treatment? What do you mean? Ghislaine Maxwell, she's in jail. Let's just move on. During Tuesday's hearing, Blanche denied that Trump personally sent him to interview Maxwell and claimed he didn't know whether she was receiving better treatment at her new facility. Oh, bullshit. Who do you think controls the bop? That's right, the doj. Stop the nonsense. The possibility of clemency for Maxwell, however unlikely, has long outraged survivors and their advocates. And I think that most Americans share that same exact sentiment. Everybody knows that what's going on is absolutely fucked. The problem is there's about five other situations happening at the same time that are equally as fucked. Most importantly, both what's going on in Iran, which is an absolute disaster. And look, as important as the Epstein story is when average people can't put gas in their car, can't afford to go to work, can't afford to keep the lights on, see inflation blasting up to over 4, seeing mortgages go to 6.78%, they know there's a problem and there's a lot of other things for the average person to worry about. And that's why the Trump administration has flooded the zone, confuse people, obfuscate, and hopefully bury what's going on with Epstein. And unfortunately, their strategy has proven to be pretty effective. Earlier this month, Spencer Kuvan, chief legal officer and litigation director at Goldlaw, which has represented numerous Epstein survivors, told the Guardian that any talk of clemency from Maxwell in exchange for testimony turns justice on its head. It risks rewarding the very person who helped enable the abuse, and not only that, took part in it. We have one person in prison because of this, and these disgusting, disgusting people are talking about granting her clemency. I wonder how many of those people have used the Hush Fund to defend their own allegations.

The Lapsed Fan Podcast Host
Boss what's the most dreaded question that you can get when you tell people you host a podcast called the Lapsed Fan? Ugh. It's what is it about and why is that, do you think? Because to like pro wrestling is to lose the respect of others. Now what if we told you there's a podcast that explains exactly why that is and why it's kind of deserved? For over a decade, we've taken fact finding missions through the thicket of half truths that is wrestling history. We watch old matches, call out carnies, laugh at our own jokes, and have so much fun doing it that some people actually can't handle it. Think wrestling is an escape from real life? Think again. Same power games, same office politics, same people lying to your face, just with entrance music and absolutely no company health insurance under any circumstances. All I offer is opportunity, not benefits. As do we, Vince. The Lapsed Fan Podcast Come for the wrestling history. Stay for the uncomfortable truth about why it used to be better and why you still care.

A representative from Maxwell did not immediately respond to a request for comment about Blanche's statement during the hearing on Tuesday. Van Hollen also told Blanche that he'd spoken with several survivors of Epstein's abuse, who told him that they were extremely frustrated that Blanche keeps calling for people to come forward with more evidence, but you have not met with them to hear their stories. If I connect you with these survivors, will you meet with them? Van Hollen asked Blanche. Why would he have to be connected? Shouldn't Todd Blanche, the most powerful lawman in the world, be doing this already? Blanche responded, Absolutely. And what you just said is false. I have met with them. I've met with many, many of the lawyers for the survivors of victims, as did Attorney General Bondi. So whoever told you that unfortunately gave you bad information. Yeah, I don't believe that. Sorry. I don't believe Todd Blanche has been proactive. His whole job has been to mitigate this. In response, A group of 17 Epstein survivors released a statement on Tuesday saying Blanche has not met with any of us. As survivors, we previously sought a meeting with former Attorney General Bondi and Department of justice officials, but no meeting occurred. They said we should not have to be this persistent to engage with the doj, the department responsible for handling the Epstein files, protecting their privacy and answering for years of secrecy and failure. Unfortunately, that's just the case. The DOJ has no desire to get to the bottom of what happened. The whole entire goal is to keep it hidden. And they're willing to go to great lengths to do that. But I don't know if this strategy they're using is going to work, especially down in places where there is a split voter base. Now, Kentucky, they might be on to something because people in Kentucky, well, let's just say it, they're going to vote for whoever the Republican candidate is anyway. But in some of these other places where the incumbent got voted out, that might give the Democrats an inroad to flipping that seat. So it's going to be very interesting to watch all of that unfold. In the statement, they added that given Blanche comments were again asking DOJ to meet directly with survivors and their counsel. Not to ask survivors to start over, but to hear their concerns, explain how these failures occurred, and provide clear answers about the release, redaction and withholding of Epstein related records going forward. Well, as much as I'd like to believe Todd Blanche and his nonsense, I don't. And I don't believe that Todd Blanche speaks for President Trump when it comes to a pardon for Glenn Maxwell. So his guarantees that he's not going to recommend that Donald Trump do that. They mean less than nothing. And considering his actions go against everything he says, I think it's going to be a hard sell to the American people that Todd Blanch is the arbiter of truth and that he's looking for justice for the Epstein survivors. And as you can tell from the response by the Epstein survivors, they're not buying it either. All the information that goes with this episode can be found in the description box.
