through the 15th what's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the Epstein chronicles. Back in 2019, when Jeffrey Epstein was arrested, the FBI reached out to authorities in New York and ordered the authorities in New York to stand down and see their investigation to the federal government. And usually I just shrug my shoulders, right? The feds think that they have a better case, or maybe they believe they have jurisdiction, whatever it might be. But that's only for people that get the benefit of the doubt. And when it comes to the FBI and the DOJ and their behavior in the realm of Epstein, I don't think anybody should be giving them the benefit of the doubt. And honestly, I don't think I'm the only one. I think that the vast majority of people are sick of the nonsense, sick of the lies and sick of the bs. And I don't just mean with Epstein, I mean in general. And considering all of that and considering the piss poor job they've done, do you think they've earned the benefit of the doubt? Well, I have a funny feeling after we're done with this article and this email, if you didn't have any questions before, you might have some now. So why don't we just start with this email? And this was an email that was sent from, you guessed it, redacted to redacted. But it's obviously federal agents talking about the case and what's going on in New York. So let's start with the first message. On July 10, 2019, Jeffrey Berman wrote, I spoke to Sweeney. We'll be going forward with the compromise. CFI in the room but interview conducted by AUSA and agent. There will be a strategy session with CFI before each interview and any suggestion from CFI will be incorporated by us in the interview to the extent we can. If CFI feels that they have to interject during the interview, they can. Or they may talk to us outside the room. We of course will be solicitous of cfi. They are the experts. Does this work for everyone? And Then there's a response from somebody who is not notated. This is fine with me if they can be nimble. For example, the agents and Redacted are in Florida as we speak. Agents are doing approaches and interviews lined up for tomorrow. We can't let the bureaucracy stand in the way, have to delay things, etc. I suppose we go with it for now and see if that becomes a concern. Oh, yeah, that's not concerning, huh? Can't let the bureaucracy stand in the way. What does that even mean? The next response in the chain is from the same person. It looks like. Sorry, interviews lined up for Friday, not tomorrow. Here's another fire. Dany, District Attorney in New York, is proceeding with their investigation and and already reached out to NBC News victim to arrange an interview. I'm not sure what the point is given both their double jeopardy and SOL issues. Let's discuss outreach to them. Next response. Same person. Also, as Redacted has pointed out, Dany is presumably working with nypd, but nypd, through the task force, is working with us and even stood up to announce the charges with us. So we may also want to conduct outreach that way. Final message. Redacted. Just called. FBI reached out to NYPD leadership already and they were told the SVU has been directed to stand down and that all the Epstein stuff needs to go through us. Dany could still try to go forward with their own investigators. So I think it's worth a call over. So what you see here is, is the FBI and the U.S. attorney's office trying to figure out how to get the District Attorney of the State of New York out of the way so they can pursue their case in a way they want to pursue it. And look, under normal circumstances, this wouldn't be weird, right? You'd be like, all right, cool, this is what happens. But when we look at it, added to everything else we know about and all the other behavior of the federal government when it comes to Epstein and protecting him, it's very concerning. And it all goes back to the scope. The federal government wanted this case so they could control the scope. So that blast radius was limited. And I think the more evidence that we're seeing, especially recently, really reinforces that point. So in this episode, we have an article from AlterNet and the headline, FBI told NYPD to stand down Probe into Jeffrey Epstein. This article was authored by Sarah K. Burris. Ryan Goodman, editor in chief of Just Security, uncovered a document in which the New York Police Department was told by the federal government to stand down on its investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. In a video posted on Monday, Goodman said that he found documents in which the FBI sent the instructions to the NYPD just five days after Epstein's arrest. Goodman said he found it surprising that the order also applied to the SVU Special Victims Unit. And Goodman explained that it's the key part of law enforcement that is specially trained and equipped to investigate crimes against minors and crimes of such abuse. Well, the feds have their own department, so they're going to bring in their own people. Bau, you know, crimes against victims, CEOs, a whole bunch of different divisions that they use when they're pursuing crimes like this. The problem is they didn't utilize any of it, and instead, they narrowed the scope so that the only targets would be Epstein and Maxwell herself. And that was all by design. It has nothing to do with them not having evidence. They have mountains of it. And that's why it's so annoying when you have people out here who try and rely on this initial investigation and as something that is worthwhile, as something that you can look at and say, you know what? Every single door was kicked in, every bush upturned. Because we know that's not true. And before it was just me telling you that. Now it's obvious from these documents that it's true. They didn't pursue this investigation the way that they usually do, especially when we're talking about organized crime, when we're talking about criminal enterprise, this is usually their favorite thing to go after because it makes headlines. It's a gigantic slam dunk, and it's a career builder. But they didn't do it, did they? They narrowed the scope. And they were only focusing in on Jeffrey Epstein and Glenn Maxwell. And in pursuit of that, they had to make sure that the case was kicked down from state to federal, because remember, DOJ main office has no jurisdiction over state level law enforcement. So they wanted to be in control of everything from actual boots on the ground to the actual narrative. They wanted to be in control of all of it. And now we know why. I mean, you have all these crimes that were committed in New York, and you don't want the assistance of the SVU, one of the most premier SVUs in the country, by the way, the

But now we'll have them step aside. We got this and I know it's just another coincidence, right? The documents show that the existing District Attorney of New York was in an ongoing investigation into Epstein and was communicating with the victims. Some of those victims then began to speak out, including a 2019 interview with Savannah Guthrie on NBC. Goodman said that they considered the D a reaching out to the victims of fire that needed to be put out. All of this was during President Donald Trump's first administration. It's quite stunning because a large part of the allegations against Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell and the alleged co conspirators happened in New York. That would be the epicenter of a lot of the crimes of the trafficking of the young girls and women. The sexual abuse of the young girls and women happened in a townhouse in the Upper east side of Manhattan, goodman explained. So you'd think you'd want the New York police helping you out, have their assistance and work in coordination with them, but no, the whole last thing had to be run from Main Justice. And who was in charge at that time? Oh, that's right, Bill Barr. So to close off such an investigation from those on the ground, he said, is astonishing as it would be the most productive avenue of getting at the other men involved in crimes. While the federal government may have assumed that the NYPD and DA stopped, they actually continued the probe through a robust investigation. I highly doubt it was robust, by the way, including speaking to the survivors through their attorneys. One part of the investigation focuses specifically on Leon Black, a private equity investor whom Business Insider reported on last week. Black has never been charged. Well, I'm sure it's because there's no evidence, right? Has nothing to do with the piss poor job of the federal government or them snatching jurisdiction and providence from the local districts. Nothing to see here though. Just how things work, folks. The office of the New Mexico Attorney General Raul Torres said last week that in 2019 it was also told to stand down facts. That is true 100%. But they didn't have to listen. They could have had their own investigation running concurrently. The investigation was closed in 2019 at the request of the U.S. attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York. Torres said he wants them to be reopened. The U.S. attorney in 2019 was Jeffrey Berman, who was also actively investigating potential financial abuses related to Donald Trump's 2017 Presidential Inaugural Committee and pursuing investigations into Michael Cohen for from 2018 to 2019. The documents show that on December 6, 2018, the NYPD, SDNY and FBI Child Exploitation Human Trafficking Task Force opened a case on Epstein. On July 10, 2019, an Epstein survivor, Jennifer Araios, was interviewed by Guthrie for the Today show. She said the recruiter Knew she was 14. Wait a minute, I thought nobody was young here. I thought there was no children who were harmed. Isn't that what some of the Epstein apologists are telling us? Bunch of jerk offs. After the interview aired, Arro submitted a New York State court filing seeking information from Epstein about how a recruiter who allegedly worked for him recruited her. Her lawsuit against Maxwell and an assistant was filed on August 14, 2019, just four days after Epstein was found dead. So she filed the suit against his estate. The stand down directive came in 2019, on July 10 and 11. One month later, Epstein was dead. By January 20, emails showed that the FBI was discussing the NYPD's probe of Epstein. So the pieces of the puzzle are certainly all coming together and all these receipts are piling up and all this circumstantial evidence that has been compiled are now, in my opinion, turning into the foundation for the biggest cover up in the history of the United States. And if you are wondering why they want you to move on, well, here it is. All the information that goes with this episode can be found in the description box.
Episode Title: Stand Down: How the DOJ Sidelined NYPD in the Epstein Case
Host: Bobby Capucci
Date: June 10, 2026
This episode dives into new revelations about how, in 2019, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI directed the New York Police Department (NYPD) to stand down in their investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, consolidating the entire criminal probe under federal control. Host Bobby Capucci unpacks leaked emails and reporting by Sarah K. Burris (AlterNet) and Ryan Goodman (Just Security), exploring the consequences of this directive, questioning the motives behind the federal agencies’ actions, and highlighting possible implications for justice and accountability in the Epstein saga.
“But that’s only for people that get the benefit of the doubt. And when it comes to the FBI and the DOJ and their behavior in the realm of Epstein, I don’t think anybody should be giving them the benefit of the doubt.” (00:47)
“We can’t let the bureaucracy stand in the way, have to delay things, etc.” (03:17)
“The federal government wanted this case so they could control the scope. So that blast radius was limited.” (04:36)
“They narrowed the scope so that the only targets would be Epstein and Maxwell herself. And that was all by design.” (05:11)
“To close off such an investigation from those on the ground… is astonishing as it would be the most productive avenue of getting at the other men involved in crimes.” — Paraphrasing Goodman (08:32)
“All these receipts are piling up and all this circumstantial evidence that has been compiled are now, in my opinion, turning into the foundation for the biggest cover up in the history of the United States.” (11:23)
On Trust in Federal Authorities:
“Do you think they’ve earned the benefit of the doubt? Well, I have a funny feeling after we’re done with this article and this email, if you didn’t have any questions before, you might have some now.” — Bobby Capucci (01:15)
On Federal Motivations:
“They wanted to be in control of everything from actual boots on the ground to the actual narrative. They wanted to be in control of all of it. And now we know why.” — Bobby Capucci (05:57)
About the Perpetual Downplaying:
“Wait a minute, I thought nobody was young here. I thought there was no children who were harmed. Isn’t that what some of the Epstein apologists are telling us? Bunch of jerk offs.” — Bobby Capucci (10:36)
Regarding the Larger Implications:
“If you are wondering why they want you to move on, well, here it is.” — Bobby Capucci (11:57)
Bobby Capucci maintains a critical, sometimes caustic tone, questioning the official narrative and expressing frustration at the apparent limitation and control imposed by federal authorities over the Epstein investigation. He repeatedly emphasizes that, given existing evidence and the pattern of official behavior, skepticism toward the DOJ and FBI is more than warranted. By the episode’s end, Capucci positions these developments as part of a larger, ongoing effort to “move on” and bury the full scale of Epstein’s network and crimes.
