Interviewer/Questioner
And welcome to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're getting right back to the TED Way transcript from his interview with Congress. Question. You mentioned this a little bit in your opening statement, but how frequently did you see each other through the course of the relationship? Answer was primarily every other week. It wasn't consistent every other week, but mostly. And you said that you live far apart from each other? Yes. Did you ever share a residence with Ms. Maxwell? No. I did spend a lot of time at her residence in New York and she spent time later in our relationship after she got to know my children at my residence in La Jolla. What was the address of her residence in New York that you said you spent time at? 116 East 65th Street. Ms. Callan, are we finished with this? Ms. Cathay? Yes. You can put that aside. Did Ms. Maxwell own this residence? I don't know. Did anyone gets cut off by weight? She told me she did. Did anyone else ever stay at the residence? She had some staff that live with her. Question. Do you recall who the staff were? Yes. Question. Mr. Cowan. Ms. Cowan, can we go off record for a moment? They go off record, now they're back. Question did anyone else ever stay at the residence that Ms. Maxwell owned in New York? Answer she had a staff couple who lived in the basement with her son. Question and you mentioned what other parts of the time they were staying in Your residence, where was that located? Answer in she was staying there. Question yes, correct answer yes. Yes, that would have. That wasn't until later in our relationship. And that would have been in La Jolla, California. Question can you estimate the years that she started to stay at your residence with you? Probably not till. I'm guessing 2007, maybe. 06. 07. Question did Ms. Maxwell have a relationship with anyone else in your family? Callan, can we go off the record? Off the record again. Now they're back on. Wait, hang on, hang on. Two seconds will go off the record. Okay, they go off the record. Now they're back. Did Ms. Maxwell have a relationship with anyone else in your family, Mr. Waite? Yeah, she had a close relationship with my children and she met virtually everyone in my immediate family. Ms. Cathay, did Ms. Maxwell stay in contact with your children after the relationship ended? Mr. Waite? Not that I know of. I do believe my daughter Emily saw her in an Airport once. Mr. Spector, did anyone else in your family stay in touch with Ms. Maxwell after your relationship ended? Mr. Waite? No, miss. I think he answered that. Mr. Waite? Not that I know of. We're going to switch gears a little bit and we're going to turn to Mr. Epstein. You talked about how you met Mr. Epstein at the dinner. What was your first impression of him? I found Mr. Epstein somewhat arrogant. I don't really recall. Like I said, my opening statement, he was off putting somewhat. I didn't really pay significant attention to it that much. Question, did you know anything about him prior to meeting him? Answer no, Mr. Grant. And you said you thought he was off putting. What made you think that he was off putting? Answer. It was just. Well, he was introduced to me as they were flying on his plane, the delegation, the group, a tour through Asia. I think the way he carried himself and a few comments. It was a group. I don't remember having a one on one conversation with him. It was just kind of a large group there. You know, the table, it's probably this size, Mr. Grant. And you would say it was roughly the same feeling as to why you thought he was arrogant as well, Ms. Callan. Do you want to clarify the question a bit? Mr. Grant? Yeah. So you said he was off putting and arrogant. You just described what made him seem off putting. Would that same description fit on why you thought he was arrogant as well, Mr. Waite? Yeah, just kind of the way he carried himself, maybe. Question did Mr. Epstein have a reputation amongst other people that were there at the table that you heard about? No. Question Was Mr. Epstein aware of your romantic relationship with Ms. Maxwell while you were dating her? Yes. When did Mr. Epstein become aware of your relationship? I don't know. Do you know how he became aware of it? I don't know for sure. Mr. Spector, how do you know he was aware of the relationship then? Mr. Waite? I did meet him at one point in Ms. Maxwell's residence early in our relationship. Ms. Cathay, can you describe more about the circumstances of that meeting and how that conversation went? Answer Mr. Waite, Ms. Maxwell was hosting a dinner event, were getting ready and then she announced that Jeffrey wanted to meet me and he'd be there shortly and he kind of appeared. It was quite odd, I felt and uncomfortable since he was her ex boyfriend. Ms. Cathay, did she give you any information about him in preparation for meeting him? Mr. Way? No, not really. Mr. Spectre so you knew that he was her ex boyfriend. So was that from conversation that you had with Ms. Maxwell or someone else? Answer yes. Question with Ms. Maxwell? Answer yes. Question what did she tell you about him? Answer she told me that he was like a brilliant investor, money manager. Question so she only told you positive things about her ex boyfriend? Answer yes. And that they ended their relationship? I think it was on her 40th birthday. Question by Ms. Cathay, you mentioned this briefly earlier, but how often did you see her interact with Mr. Epstein through the course of your relationship with Ms. Maxwell? Answer There was only two other times after that meeting at the 65th street residence, and those were both literally running into him, like on the street. Question these were brief conversations then? Answer Very brief. Question do you happen to know what you were talking about with him? No, I do not recall. Question Was he particularly interested in your business or anything else? Answer the meeting at 65th street, he asked a lot about what I was investing in, you know, that type of thing. Question did you get the impression that he was after information about your company specifically? Answer it was quite odd. I couldn't really figure it out, frankly. Question so no, you were just unclear on why he was asking or what he was asking about? Answer yeah, I got more of the sense he was filling me out. Question in retrospect, do you have any idea what he might have been about? No. Did Ms. Maxwell ever express concerns that Mr. Epstein would have had a negative reaction to the two of you dating? Mr. Waite? No. Question did the nature of your relationship with Mr. Epstein change at any point while you were dating Ms. Maxwell? No, I never really had a relationship with Mr. Epstein. Mr. Spector, did you ever communicate with Mr. Epstein over the phone or email or anything? Mr. No. Spectre. Besides the in person interactions that you described, no, not that I know of. Ms. Cathay, could you please go into a little bit more detail about Ms. Maxwell's occupation? Sure. I'll try to speak up for those in the back. I can only go based on what she told me. She told me that she was after the romantic relationship with Mr. Epstein ended. You know, prior to that, she had managed his properties and his staff and. And, you know, acted like kind of a wife would. She then transitioned to an employee status as an estate manager. After we began dating, she minimized those activities and was moving out of that. Out of that role. And she was always busy investing in other things, small businesses. She was very entrepreneurial. And, you know, she claimed she paid for her residence with some Internet investment. Question. Couple things to follow up on there. But first, so she was still employed by Mr. Epstein while you were dating. Can you clarify the time frame of that? When did she stop working for Epstein or. Excuse me, Let me rephrase. Did she ever stop working for Mr. Epstein while you were together? Answer, I don't know that for sure. Question. But you said she cut back her time working for him. That's what she told me. Question. Well, you didn't know that for sure. I didn't know that for sure. Question. Because you did live in different cities and no verbal response. Question. Do you know how often she was going into the office? I don't know. Do you know how often she was communicating with Mr. Epstein on a daily basis? Answer, I don't know.

You didn't have questions for her given that she was working, you were dating someone that was working for her ex boyfriend, you didn't have any questions about that? Mr. Waite? I don't recall any conversations about the day to day activity with Mr. Epstein's affairs. Ms. Cathay doing the questioning. Now you were her boyfriend for seven years. Podcast Summary: The Epstein Chronicles
Episode: Ted Waitt And The Transcript From His Epstein Related Trip To Congress (Part 2)
Host: Bobby Capucci
Release Date: July 28, 2026
In this episode, Bobby Capucci continues to analyze the transcript from Ted Waitt’s congressional testimony regarding his relationship with Ghislaine Maxwell and his interactions with Jeffrey Epstein. The episode focuses on the nature and extent of Waitt’s association with Maxwell, the overlap with Epstein, and insights into Maxwell's professional and personal dynamics post-Epstein. Capucci guides listeners through key points in the transcript, seeking to clarify Maxwell’s living arrangements, her relationship with Waitt’s family, and the lingering influence of Epstein.
"I found Mr. Epstein somewhat arrogant...off-putting. I didn’t really pay significant attention to it that much." — Ted Waitt (03:30)
"He asked a lot about what I was investing in, you know, that type of thing...I couldn't really figure it out, frankly." — Ted Waitt (07:40)
"I don’t know that for sure...She talked a lot about investment ideas and she had other activities but very little about...Epstein’s affairs." — Ted Waitt (09:13)
"He seemed like there was a presence and it was always there." — Ted Waitt (12:55)
On Epstein’s demeanor:
"He was off-putting...just kind of the way he carried himself, maybe."
— Ted Waitt (04:15)
On Maxwell's professional shift:
"She then transitioned to an employee status as an estate manager. After we began dating, she minimized those activities... moving out of that role."
— Ted Waitt (08:30)
On the lingering presence Epstein had in Maxwell's life:
"He seemed like there was a presence and it was always there."
— Ted Waitt (12:55)
Capucci closes the episode summarizing that, based on Waitt’s congressional testimony, there’s limited direct knowledge of Epstein's influence on Maxwell during their relationship. Waitt portrays Maxwell as focused on her own ventures and investing, distancing herself from Epstein, at least outwardly. The episode underscores the complexities in distinguishing between appearance and reality among Epstein’s associates, while providing rare insight into the personal lives entwined around Epstein’s orbit.
Next episode will continue this deep dive into the transcript and its implications for the broader Epstein saga.
