Are you ready to get spicy?
Asante
These Doritos Golden Sriracha aren't that spicy.
Fran
Sriracha sounds pretty spicy to me.
Asante
Um, a little spicy, but also tangy and sweet.
Fran
Maybe it's time to turn up the.
Asante
Heat or turn it down. It's time for something that's not too spicy. Try Doritos Golden Sriracha. Spicy but not too spicy.
Dustin Ross
Welcome to the Friend.
Fran
Every time I'm in the zone, I'm Francesca, also known as K. Friend.
Asante
Hey, my name is Asante. This is the friend zone. Breaking news.
Dustin Ross
Oh, yeah, yeah. So see, this one right here is for Bravo fans, you know what I'm saying? And people who love R and B music from the 90s. Okay. Because if you watch Bravo, you know about the show that debuted last year called Next Gen nyc, that featured children of Bravo liberties and, you know, other young New York City socialites, we'll call them. And it profiled them. It's been renewed for a second season. We know that. Riley Burris. Yeah. So we're going to clap for that. Right? Welcome back to Bravo. You know what I'm saying? We want to keep the cameras on Riley. Riley Burris is the daughter of Kandi Burris. Kandi Burris was in the R B super group Xscape. Right. Okay. That's why I'm dressed like them today. Cause we finna kick it.
Fran
Kicking it.
Dustin Ross
That's right. So last season we remember that Riley had a hard time dealing with a lot of the racial microaggressions that were thrown her way. She was one of two black cast members because Ava Dash, the daughter of Damon Dash, whose tooth be falling out his. She was on. She's on the show as well. But they're really literally the minority and the white kids around them are doing and saying things that are obviously making them uncomfortable. They're profiling Riley as a raging drunk who's aggressive and they're saying that she scares them, all that stuff. So it was difficult for A lot of us to watch. One of the first disagreements she had on the shows with this girl named Georgia who proudly told everyone that she didn't wash her hands. You know what I'm saying? She felt like germs are healthy for her and she just. Whatever. She didn't wash her hands. She's one of those people that I talked about before on the show who looks like they. I call them a cuticle biter, remember? You know what I'm saying? She looks like one of them red nail beds at the bottom, you know what I'm saying? Like. Like that, right? And so her and Riley didn't want to hug her. And so they had a disagreement last season. And that's where it started. She jokingly was like, that's o. And so it started like a prop. And they may ended up making Riley cry on the show several times, which we know her mother Candy famously cries when she gets upset. It's just a thing. Some people are like that, you know?
Fran
Yeah.
Dustin Ross
But it was still hard to watch. And we were pissed off because a lot of us who were screaming and yelling at our TVs through gritted teeth. My lips still a little fucked up today from doing like this, watching that show, you know what I'm saying? We were doing that we wanted her to really cuss they ass out. So the breaking news that we have, right, Comes from our friends over at the Neighborhood Talk. Shout out to the Neighborhood Talk. What's up, Kyle? But they had the exclusive every time. Over and over and over. So they had the exclusive. Yeah, that was for Fran. They had the exclusive. The exclusive news that. And this is a quote from the. From their headline.
Fran
He done lost his train of thought.
Dustin Ross
Train. So exclusive, exclusive. Riley Burdis and Georgia McCann with the dirty hands. Georgia McCann with the dirty hands. Dirty hands. So Riley Burris and Georgia McCann got into a heated argument while filming season two, which makes me think that she was musty, because if it was heated when they was arguing, is she already a filthy cesspool roll around on the ground, buzzard vagabond ass woman, you. Then maybe she was stanking to. That's a safe assumption to make. But anyway, back to what the Neighborhood Talk said. Riley Burris and Georgia McCann get into a heated argument while filming season two of Next Gen NYC. Riley allegedly tried to throw a glass at Georgia and had to be held back by her cast members. So according to the Neighborhood Talk, they say it's no secret that Bravo's newest show, Next Gen, has been renewed for season two. They said that our girl Riley Burris and Georgia McCann got in a heated argument and that according to the source, the cast was out and about at a local New York City spot having drinks, some more than others, as the night went on. And allegedly, one of the ones who was having more was Riley. They said that Riley and Georgia allegedly ended up getting into an argument where Georgia called Riley an alcoholic. And it just went left after that. Riley allegedly tried to throw a glass at Georgia and had to be restrained by other. Other cast members. And to that I say, good job, Riley.
Fran
Oh, yes.
Dustin Ross
Yes. See?
Fran
Yikes.
Dustin Ross
Mas. Okay. We want more. Okay. This is exactly what you need to be doing when these people are bothering you on this show. It's time she turned up, okay? Riley be chilling. She's rich, she's pretty, you know what I'm saying? She just finished that nyu. Her mom is candy. It is what it is. And they sometimes she went to a school that was, you know, not necessarily a black environment, you know what I'm saying? And not just college, you know, even her high school, private school she went to in Atlanta where all them rich kids go. I think it's called Woodland Academy. Everybody, kids go there, and it's like the burgundy and white. So it's a thing. Anyway, so she's been in those environments, and we tired of. We did not like seeing her be bullied. Low key last season with some of these microaggressions. She had a very famous feud with a guy named Charlie who was on there being an asshole, cussing all these people out, calling. He called Georgia the very girl who Riley hopefully allegedly threw their glass at and hit. He called her a poor. Like, told her she was a poor bitch and all this other stuff. He was just flagrantly disrespectful to the cast. And we watched Riley, he make Riley cry and shit. So if she's on there throwing glasses at these motherfuckers in season two, to that we say thank you.
Fran
Is he the one that Dame Dash's daughter had a crush on?
Dustin Ross
I hope not. But Dame Dash talks about how Ava, I guess she's had a pattern of dating, like, white boys or whatever, which. Date who you want. You know, I don't give a fuck about none of that. I'm gay. I definitely date who I want. And I wish a motherfucker would try to tell me something like, I can't do that. So I wouldn't never say that about nobody else. But in this case, it matters because when, like, the social norms, you know, What I'm saying within your community and the circles you run in end up impacting. So your behavior sometimes. Your response to things sometimes. And those of us who do not engage in those other circles regularly, we watch it. And we have a different reaction to some of the microaggressions. Why are y' all saying Riley Burris is mean and aggressive and y' all scared of her? We know what that shit is. You know what I'm saying? So what did Luther Vandross say? Give me a reason. Give them a reason then, Riley. Fuck it. Throw them glasses at it. Go Atlanta on they ass. Y' all forgot that's Mama Joyce. Grandbaby, right? Did you watch the show? I think. You know what I know that's Candy's daughter. One thing about Candy, she ain't never been afraid to stand up for herself. She ain't never been afraid to defend herself. Her mama, her man. Y' all know what Nene said about her. That's my mama. That's my man.
Asante
My man. My man.
Dustin Ross
Y' all know what Nini said, and it was true. And we love that about Candy. We wanted to see that spirit. To stand up for yourself, Riley. And the fact that she's doing it this season. I am. So. I was overjoyed, like Stevie Wonder said in that song when I read this. Okay. I was very happy to see this. So congratulations, Riley. Welcome to the Don't Take no Shit club. We are happy to have you and we have been waiting on you. Okay. We was waiting for you. Y' all know the rest. And with that being said and understood, welcome to the friend zone. You're weakly looking at mental health, mental hygiene and mental. Throw a glass at that hoe. Okay. Which I disrespect you. We so proud of Riley. I'm more proud of that than her NYU graduation. I'm being honest. Being honest. I'm more proud of that.
Asante
Wow.
Dustin Ross
Hey, friend. Hey, Asante. How y' all doing today?
Fran
Hey, you guys, Y' all look great. How are your weekends?
Dustin Ross
Oh, toast. Thank you.
Fran
Y' all. Do y' all look handsome and rested and skin looking all glowy and dewy.
Dustin Ross
Thank you.
Asante
Thank you.
Dustin Ross
That's a good thing, right?
Fran
Yeah, absolutely.
Dustin Ross
Dewey. I feel like I'm in that dozing video.
Asante
It's gonna be gorgeous.
Fran
I still haven't listened to her. To her album.
Asante
The whole album.
Fran
Now that you say that, I haven't either.
Dustin Ross
Run through for me. I hopped off the train last time when she had that album with the bug on the front. You know What I'm talking the one when she had the album with the bug on the front and she performed and she had those women that would look like they were covered in blood and all the. Was flying, you know, I was like.
Fran
Okay, for a second there, I was like, what happened with that? I was like, was it like a spider? Yeah, right. I do remember.
Dustin Ross
Goddamn. I don't know. But it was just a lot for me. And so. And you know, she like, I appreciate her music, but it just ain't never been scarlet.
Asante
Oh, yeah, Scarlett.
Dustin Ross
Every now and then though, she has a song that just. I love. I love need to Know. And so this song, I like that gorgeous song. And Esau is in the video. Word to Asante. Yeah, yeah, he saw it is in the video. So I like that.
Asante
Yep. I feel the same way.
Fran
I still need to sit with it. I was actually sat with a lot of albums this past weekend. You did good weekend.
Dustin Ross
What was you listening to?
Fran
Just on Friday, I feel like so much dropped. It was kind of nuts. Like you got Miguel's project, you had Daniel Caesar's project. You had an EP from Leon Thomas. You had like, literally it was like at least 10 plus artists drop full length projects or EPs. So I had a very music center.
Asante
You was digging through all the crates, all the new music.
Fran
Yeah, I just sat and was like, yo, let me sit. I haven't done that in a while. I used to do that all the time. Yeah, I remember in Brooklyn, specifically, y' all remember how my apartment was so, like, chill. I would sit and dim the lights, turn on candles and just listen to all the new music that dropped on Friday. But music hasn't made me feel.
Asante
Yeah.
Fran
Just right to vibe out. But it doesn't make me feel that way anymore. And I think that's probably why I stopped giving New Music Friday that much attention. But yeah, nothing that came out really hit me either, which made me sad. I was like, gosh, man, music just has a. A different feel. And Tame Impala dropped an album as well.
Dustin Ross
That's another one we're gonna clap for them. Thank you for them, friend. You put me on.
Fran
Yeah, Tame Impala dropped the full length. So that was another I was sitting and listening to. But yeah, that was my weekend. Really chill, calm, Just trying to stay sane in the craziness of today, really. No other way around it. I'm very focused on staying calm as a human being. Like my music, Listening to audiobooks, reading a ton, going for walks. I got a weighted vest, fucking TikTok. I got a 20 pound weighted vest that I have now added to my waist.
Dustin Ross
That's heavy, friend.
Fran
Heavy. You hear me?
Asante
20 pounds. Damn.
Fran
That should have my heart rate at 140.
Dustin Ross
Fuck with her if you want to, friend. Low key friend. Been in about a year of intense boot camp. Friend will fuck you up right now. You a soldier.
Asante
Damn, friend.
Dustin Ross
Y' all hear her talking?
Fran
Because my partner was like, you should not have gotten 20 pounds. He was like, why don't you start with like 10 or 12? I was like. Cause I know I can do it.
Dustin Ross
Yeah.
Fran
But I put it on and I walked two and a half miles the first day. So that made me happy because. And I was on the phone talking at the same time, which you know.
Dustin Ross
Yep.
Asante
So what Dustin said is correct. Fran, she can't you up right now.
Fran
I was on the phone with Jade.
Asante
Oh, so she. She really could have you up then.
Dustin Ross
So you had real energy then. You. Your energy was up. That's why it was for you. Y' all was gone.
Fran
Me and Jade was yapping, and I walked for two and a half miles and then got back home. And my heart, my chest was on fire and I. But I liked that. I was like, okay, I gotta figure out how to.
Dustin Ross
You feel accomplished, didn't you?
Fran
Yeah, that made me proud. So now I'm gonna build up. Cause I normally walk four to five miles a day, and I wasn't ready to do that with a 20 pound vest.
Dustin Ross
You need to download that. Walk em down. Walk em down. That's the shit.
Fran
So I'm gonna build up to it. I'm gonna build up to it.
Dustin Ross
You sure are. With a 20 pound weighted vest on. That's exactly what you gonna do, is build up to it. Gonna build it up. That's exactly what you're doing, friend. Damn.
Fran
You can tell who's chronically online, too, because I saw a bunch of white women with their weighted vests. I was like, look at us.
Dustin Ross
And Stanley Cups. Stanley Cups, Labubus. They had all that.
Asante
Yeah.
Fran
Nike, Romero fives on their feet. Like, literally, chronically online. That's all we need is a flag, aloe, you name it. Anyway, how was y'?
Dustin Ross
All. Ain't nothing wrong with that either. You know what I'm saying? I think that, yes, sometimes it's a little fun to keep up with the. You know, and have the things that are things right now. Sometimes that's a good time and that you find joy and like that.
Fran
Sometimes the fitness should be getting me.
Dustin Ross
Yeah. I don't know why I said nothing about that. What was them boards and scale things everybody had that they were standing on? It was some infrared everybody had. I ain't seen none of it.
Fran
You mean the vibe? It's a lot of. They had. The vibrating plates went viral. That little step thing that you step up and down.
Dustin Ross
Treadmill look like a trapper keeper. She's standing on that.
Fran
Oh, the walking pad.
Dustin Ross
Walking pad I got.
Fran
Okay, so I got sucked into the walking pad. Best decision ever. Because sometimes it's too cold to go on my walks. Or if it's pouring raining, I can just jump on the walking pad and it gets my heart rate just the same. I can knock out my four to five miles in the day. And no, I don't walk five miles at one time in on the walking pad. That's a lot. I usually break it up. Like, I'll walk a mile in the morning when I wake up another mile after lunch. And then for dinner, you know, Knockout three. So that's usually how I do it. Walking pad is great. That little step thing, horrible. I don't know what I was thinking, but I did give it to a friend of mine who was so into it, so at least it didn't go to waste.
Dustin Ross
Different shirt.
Fran
Yeah. That was a treat for her. I was like, you could have it, girl. Like.
Asante
I wish you would have done a whole episode about all the. We could have done one about all the useless things we've got from the Internet.
Dustin Ross
We should. We can use it and useless people. We should.
Fran
But TikTok gets me with fitness stuff. And ironically, there's snacks.
Dustin Ross
Really? What have you tried?
Asante
Pickle.
Dustin Ross
What's it called? What's that pickle card that everybody getting.
Fran
I haven't. I haven't seen the Pickle Pickle.
Dustin Ross
What's the pickle? Asante? A chamoy pickle. Yeah.
Fran
Umoja's crazy.
Dustin Ross
Umoja pickle. Hey. Yes, friend. We can use that for the show.
Fran
What about y'? All?
Dustin Ross
We was eating emoji pickles.
Fran
Let me text it to y' all now. Emoji pickles.
Asante
Oh, my God.
Fran
Emoji. What the hell? They're gonna be like, what the hell?
Dustin Ross
Yeah, that's what I said when I seen them dumping all that in a pickle bag.
Fran
Shamoy is one of those things that I. I've tried. I got the chamoy like, gushers or some shit. Terrible. Y' all ever seen that video where the kid was like, hey, mom, terrible sandwich. Yeah.
Dustin Ross
Off the bus. Fresh off the bus.
Fran
That's me. What happened?
Dustin Ross
His ass outside well, you know what? Fuck you.
Asante
Fuck my child.
Fran
Why did I say that to one of my. My homies out here? Who? He's a chef. No, no, no, no, no, no. That came out so wrong. Not his food. Not his food. But he told my partner a restaurant to take me to, and so when we went, the food sucked. And so when he called later to ask, I said, hey, terrible sandwich. He just busted out. It was not good. It was not good.
Dustin Ross
But anyway, can we come to Portland? Can we go to that lady's food truck?
Fran
Keys loaded. Kitchen.
Dustin Ross
Can we go to keys kitchen?
Fran
Absolutely. Absolutely. I saw people mad at her because she was selling $100 plate.
Dustin Ross
That's what I want. I want that big ass briefcase spaghetti.
Asante
I just want to bite. So I'm gonna just have a little bit of yours. Destiny, Look, I'll put 25 in just for the one little bite.
Fran
A grief case of spaghetti is so fucking funny.
Asante
I know if I give her $25, she's still gonna try to hand me a whole hand. Like a. Too much. My girl. I just wanted a taste.
Dustin Ross
It's a bounty of food that she. You know what I'm saying?
Asante
Wow.
Fran
I want to name the episode A Briefcase of Spaghetti.
Asante
Now you can.
Dustin Ross
Yeah, because that's what she gives you, that big block. You know what I'm saying? I want it. I wanted to talk that shit. I wanted to make a video.
Fran
I know you lying. Hold on. A brief case of.
Dustin Ross
Have you seen all that food? Asante.
Asante
Yes.
Dustin Ross
Oh, my God.
Asante
What was it like a lasagna or something? She put a big ass pile up. I've seen the spaghetti. I said, no, I saw the spaghetti. But she be doing all kind of stuff. Like, she was like, these are the catfish too. She did it. She did a rack of ribs. She was like, these are the only real ribs or some shit. She said it was just a big ass thing of ribs in that plate. I was like, how is she gonna close? I was so confused.
Dustin Ross
And then she close it up and puts another one over and wraps it in for you. I want all of that. I want it. I need that.
Fran
The food trucks out here are amazing. It really is a food city. That's a lot of what I was talking with with Jade on our walk. Just the fact that, like, girl, there's so much you could do out here.
Dustin Ross
Don't be trying to poach her friend.
Fran
No, no, no, not. She's not gonna move here. We already established that. Look at you.
Dustin Ross
Why are you telling her? It's a lot.
Fran
Business Business opportunities. There's people out here, chefs and movers and shakers in the food world that I want to connect her with. That's what we were discussing, because I felt like, yeah, no, we already.
Dustin Ross
For sure. You know what I'm saying?
Fran
No, we already established because of Noah. It just wouldn't work, unfortunately. But I wish they were here. But yes. Anything else y' all want to share?
Dustin Ross
Yes. So shout out to everybody who has supported my upcoming comedy shows. You can go to Dustin Ross. That's right. Thank you. Clap your hands and your ass. Thank you. You can go to dustinrosslive.com on November 30th, we're playing the Comedy Zone in Charlotte. I can't wait to come to Queen City. Okay. And I'm gonna make that make sense on stage.
Asante
But a lot of queens out here too, so.
Dustin Ross
Oh, oh, baby. Oh, baby. Oh, baby. So just wait. Then also on December 4th, I'm gonna be in Miami playing the Miami improv, and that is during our Basel weekend. Pull up on me. You know what I'm saying? Let's make art. I can't wait. So that's what I've been prepping for writing. You know what I'm saying? My hands. You would think I had been sewing that flag like Betsy Ross. All that. My hands from writing them damn jokes. I'm so tired, but I'm very excited. So that's what I've been focusing on right now.
Fran
I love that. And as always, the link will be in the description box. Link in bio scramble to look for. I might be in December. I was looking at the Brandi and Monica tour, and none of the dates really work, like, in terms of, you know, my schedule right now. But I was like, oh, I might be able to do, like, Houston or Texas. Or Texas. I don't know if it was Houston, but they have some Texas shows. I believe in early December that I might pop out too. I'm so excited.
Dustin Ross
Let me know, because I want to go see that. Yeah, I ain't wearing no damn suit.
Fran
Well, I don't think anybody.
Asante
Let's just do it together.
Dustin Ross
Let's do it.
Asante
It's really cute because I have. I want to see the show, and I haven't looked at the dates, and I'm like, damn, I really need to see this show.
Fran
So ye.
Dustin Ross
Is this a live nation show?
Fran
That I do not know.
Dustin Ross
Let me see. Because that's who we need to be talking to.
Fran
But I was looking at the Texas dates because that's the only one that makes the most sense. And I was like, ooh, I want to go so bad. No one around me was interested.
Asante
I want to be down.
Fran
Actually, that's so perfect, because Claude couldn't go. My partner's not interested. My. My best friend. I wish I could have seen his face. He. Rashida me when I asked him.
Dustin Ross
Oh, he literally had the concert. She was at her music fest.
Asante
Hold on, Everybody, stop. We will talk about one Music fest during the Music man segment.
Dustin Ross
Okay, okay. Because you was on. You was boots on the ground, wasn't you?
Asante
We're gonna talk. That will. That will be what we are talking about for the Music man segment. But with that said, friend. Yes. Let us know the dates. We will find out.
Fran
That would be so cute. I love that. And that works out because legit, no one want to come with me.
Dustin Ross
I want to go see Brandi do like this. She was doing like this in a clip I seen. I want to see her do that. Yeah.
Fran
I thought that was a concert that everyone our age would be so hyped to go to. So I'm very surprised the people in my life. But anyway. But I'm happy already down.
Dustin Ross
Please show me the facial expression when you propose the idea of going to the show.
Fran
I really wish y' all could have seen it. I said, you want to come in a concert? He's like, yeah. Which I'm like, brandon Monica. I said, the Boy Is Mine tour.
Dustin Ross
He was like.
Fran
He said, the Boy Is Mine tour. I was like, okay, forget it. Like, not even gonna happen.
Asante
Oh.
Fran
He'S usually so down. That shock. But anyway. And he said, only if I go with him to the NBA. Young boy.
Asante
Well, friend, what did I tell y'.
Fran
All he was at? We'll be even.
Asante
That's a fair trade. Sounds like a fair trade.
Fran
Nope.
Dustin Ross
Same. I feel like, listen, that's two good times. No, that's two good times.
Fran
I'd be in this nervous, but, I.
Asante
Mean.
Fran
I saw each other up the seats, and I was like, I had a nerve issue.
Dustin Ross
I could. I can't wait to go. I told. I told.
Fran
Wait, are you going?
Dustin Ross
Hell, yeah, I'm gonna go. I told. I told Kid Fury I wanted to go. And he was like, I haven't heard about it. I sent him two videos from the concert.
Fran
I know. He said, I know you lying.
Dustin Ross
I totally get it. And I'm down. You know, that's our kind of. That's the kind of shit we like to do together.
Fran
That was so funny.
Dustin Ross
Hell, yeah. Once I seen that green stage and the energy in the crowd, all that. I was like, oh, this. I'm in here. So I want to go. So if anybody is behind either of those tours, Brandy and Monica and also NBA Youngboy when he's. When it's happening. Because some of these shows we not happening. They canceling his shows and which I'm. I don't.
Asante
I'm not.
Dustin Ross
I don't like that. But I want to go to both. So, yeah, you should go. Go see NBA Young Boy.
Fran
I saw the. I. I too, saw the videos that you watch. I didn't have the same feel, man.
Dustin Ross
It's this video.
Asante
I see the videos. That's what I mean.
Fran
My heart. I was like, yeah, no, it's this.
Dustin Ross
Video of this black guy who. He looks like a black gay boy or whatever, right? But he. He posted it himself. He was like, business. And when the camera pants to him, it's so funny. When the camera passing him, he's sitting in the chair, do it like this, clapping his hands. I tweeted about it, like, does anybody have that video? And somebody sent it to me, so I'm gonna find it and send it to you guys. But it is literally. It is so funny. Like, and it's because he's. He's just enjoying it. He's enjoying the show.
Asante
You know, he don't know none of.
Dustin Ross
The music, but he's just having a good time. Oh, I want to go.
Fran
That's so funny.
Dustin Ross
I think you should take them up on that deal.
Fran
Y' all enjoy. Do y' all have any announce any other announcements that y' all let folks.

Fran
You have the black business of the week for us today.
Dustin Ross
I definitely do, and I'm actually really glad to share this with our audience. So my homeboy friend of the show, too, actually friend of a lot of our friends, Michael Arsenau, brilliantly gifted author, writer in general, who has a couple of books that are for sale right now. So you should definitely go pick up a copy of I Finally Bought some Jordans while you at it. But shout out to Michael. He has a new podcast called Undomesticated that he is co hosting with Candace Dillard Bassett, who famously was on the Real Housewives of Potomac. Yup. And they're real friends in real life. They have a new show called Undomesticated, and when they posted it, it said that the show is unchange, unfiltered, unapologetic. Undomesticated. Fran
Nice. Congratulations. I get happy when I hear people still starting podcasts. It just absolutely feel like the field is still ripe and gc.
Asante
Yeah.
Dustin Ross
And we need to listen new voices, new. New conversations, new ideas. We need to listen and support them when it makes sense. Because it's a lot of out there that we don't need to support that you not y'.
Fran
All.
Dustin Ross
Cause anybody listening or watching you, you got your together. I'm talking about the other people that are list and watching these horrible shows that are just vapid and stupid.
Fran
Okay.
Dustin Ross
This ain't none of that underestimated.
Fran
Okay?
Dustin Ross
Candace and Michael. All right.
Fran
Michael and Candace, they Sound like a morning show.
Dustin Ross
Yeah, that. You damn right they could do one. They smart.
Asante
Have you caught up on the morning show?
Fran
I still haven't. Oh, I know.
Dustin Ross
I've been sleeping in.
Fran
You know what? Let's jump into the recap segment. Last week's episode. Y' all know we're still in our crime zone month. It was titled Apartment 603. It was what happened to Ellen Greenberg, a case that, like I told y', all, I had been aware of since quarantine. A lot of you listening were shocked, horrified. And a lot of you actually said you, too, were familiar with the case and were shocked in disbelief that this was still being ruled. What it's being ruled. So a lot of people had a lot to say. Who stood out to you, Asante?
Asante
A lot of people did have a lot to say. A lot of people were responding to the call of traveling for dates alone.
Fran
Yes. A lot of people were like, hell, no.
Dustin Ross
Which that made me happy to see a resounding respond to that. Good that that means that y' all are being safe. I love to see it.
Asante
Yes. So I did just want to acknowledge. I did see a lot of those responses. The one I want to share, I am in the Spotify streets is from More Than Music. More Than Music shares. I stopped this midway because I had to watch this for myself. I know people may have been. May have been scared, but what did she know? Why didn't Ellen's parents have the investigator dig into the uncle's. Dig into the uncle that took the devices and didn't give them to her parents? They could have surrendered that stuff to them at the. At the Shiva. I was clapping when I came back and Fran said, who is this family? That uncle must be a powerful lawyer. So many things pissed me off. Even her dad. Prayers to her people, though. Yeah. Because there just were so many points in the story, friend. I was listening for so long because you know how I get. I'm always ready to, like, blame somebody for something. But I was listening for so long that even when you got to, like, the problem and what was already some, it just still felt like there was more because it was like, all right, this horrible thing happened to this woman. But then the police just are like, all right, well, he said, this is what it is. Like, it was just like after, so. And then to this person's point, then the uncle like, why don't they just give the devices, which you brought back up or you had brought up previously, to just so much trash. I really do send out prayers to the family because. Because that was a terrible story and I hope that they get some actual closure from it. But I know that that like religious stuff being involved makes this even worse and wonkier to try to get to the bottom of.
Dustin Ross
So how are you gonna argue with that?
Asante
Right.
Dustin Ross
You know what I'm saying? Like, I can't win that argument.
Fran
Along with that comment, I did wonder why in the doc it's like nobody mentioned the uncle. Like there's no conversation around him if you think about it. And I looked at YouTubes, I watched other podcast, you know, after the fact and nothing. Nobody said anything. I'm like, who is this person? Because him taking the devices was so strange.
Asante
Yeah.
Fran
But when the like, like our listener just said the uncle must have been a powerful PI didn't look into him. I didn't hear the assistant, the PI, the former assistant district attorney. Like no one mentioned him. And so that to me says a lot, you know, and even how they were had to speak very cautiously, never saying Sam did. You know, like, it just. I was like, damn, this family must be because they scared to even say it. But anyway, very, very sad story. I found actually I wanted to shout out Yana in the Patreon.
Dustin Ross
What's up, Yana? Thank you.
Fran
Jana said. Just touching on the convo that we had about donations, Yana said some donations are very needed. As someone with sickle cell disease, I'm entering a new treatment meant to heal my disease with genetic modification to my stem cell. But I've struggled finding blood since September. And last time my doctors looked for blood, they had to wait a week just for two units of blood to come in from California. I live in New Jersey.
Dustin Ross
Wow.
Fran
Because. Because I need a genotype match and that was the only blood that matched my genotype. She says she's of African descent. I have antibodies to normal blood and my reaction is that my body fights against the new blood, killing everything. She said, ak, I'm allergic to white people blood. I also know, she said, I also know of someone who was born without a uterus and ovaries. And for her, an egg donation is life changing for her and her family. She said all that to say that it's literally life saving for black people to sit give blood plasma ovaries. Go ahead and get your cookie. Specifically to save other black people. Obviously don't do it in a back alley. Please use reputable places like hospital blood drives.
Dustin Ross
Wow.
Fran
I thought that was important to share, especially as she is waiting.
Dustin Ross
Good eye, friend.
Fran
Yeah. So I had to shout that out. Special K Dub said, baby, I'm an 80s baby you ain't flying me nowhere if we've never met because we've been through it all them true crimes. And lastly, Tori Johnson said as a property manager who has dealt with a few in unit deaths. Oh, sad. I'm like, ooh, yikes. The first step is literally to call their emergency contact. No other party except the police in this case can enter the unit or take anything without the permission of the emergency contact. Now see, so they up in so many ways.
Dustin Ross
We know we weren't crazy.
Asante
Well, the hut. Well, her and Ethan knew it was not Ethan. I don't know why I threw that out. Her and Sam, they were. They were married, right?
Dustin Ross
Or engaged.
Fran
Engaged.
Asante
I remember the ring. I don't remember if they made it to the wedding.
Fran
Engaged, yes.
Asante
So wouldn't he already be considered the, you know, next to whatever emergency contact?
Fran
But I would assume like her parents would be on there too. You know what I mean?
Asante
Yeah.
Fran
I don't know how that would only.
Dustin Ross
Be on there if she had updated it to include him. It probably, you probably have to go according to whatever is on file at that time, you know what I'm saying? And who knows if. If they was already, you know, what the theories are that he was already violent to her or whatever.
Fran
Right.
Dustin Ross
I don't assume that she would have his name on the emergency contact anyway.
Fran
Hopefully not. Yeah. And it was very. The property manager called his family first.
Dustin Ross
Yeah, yeah.
Fran
I don't know if I mentioned that last week, but she called his family first, which I thought was interesting because remember it was his dad that then called Ellen's parents, which is interesting to me how the kind of. Of circle of. Or the hierarchy of who got reached out to. Just really interesting considering the case, you know. Oh, and one. One tip, one of our listeners actually reminded me of. They said that one point. It's just that the case was so much. Right. Because even with how much I said, there was still so much more. So I was trying, I tried my best to get all the important details. But one detail I did forget to mention that was really important was that the private eye, once he was looking at the pictures in the case files, he saw that her sitting up in the kitchen didn't make sense considering that the blood on her face was going from her nose to her ear. Because if you're sitting up. If you're sitting up, wouldn't it go straight down?
Asante
Right?
Dustin Ross
Yeah.
Fran
You know what I mean? But it had coagulated to the side, but she's sitting up.
Dustin Ross
What had it done you? You a bad motherfucker. Go ahead, friend. What had. What had the blood did? Say what the blood did, friend.
Fran
What did it do?
Dustin Ross
Come on.
Fran
Coagulated. You. Why he look like culture and that. And that was something that he was. Yo, Dustin, be killing me. That was something that he. So confusing.
Dustin Ross
Nobody had noticed like, that blood had coagulated like that.
Fran
You know what?
Dustin Ross
Yeah.
Fran
So thank you to the listener that reminded me of that point because that was very important to prove that it had been moved. And another listener actually mentioned something that I didn't even catch where they said the Sam's pants were different the two times he down. When he first went down to the concierge to complain, and then when he came back down, he had a different pair of pants. I didn't catch that. She said he passed out from shorts to sweats or something.
Dustin Ross
And what the fuck?
Fran
Yes. I was like, see? Or the fact that he had said that the concierge accompanied him when obviously the concierge threw. And maybe he thought because there was no cameras in the hallway, he could get that lie off. But we also have a camera in the lobby that would show he went in the elevator with you. You know what I'm saying? So just a lot of mess. But, yeah, this case was something else. And I'm sad that they still, to this day, what, 14 years later, don't.
Dustin Ross
Have no kind of closure.
Fran
Nothing. Nothing. What about you, Justin Ross? What'd you find in the Twitter streets?
Dustin Ross
I don't even wanna say nothing no more.
Fran
Right. It's frustrating.
Dustin Ross
Damn, man. What's going on with Wanye from Boyz II Men? So this is a little messy. Whatever. So there's a Twitter account called Baddy TV with two V's, AKA the girls are fighting. And so they posted. So shout out to y'. All. They posted a clip where Chili from tlc, who looks mean and who has said things before that. You know what I mean? You know? Yeah. Remember she cussed that girl out on. I'm like, not Nike. Her old memory. I mean, that was funny.
Fran
Why would she tell the fans, okay.
Dustin Ross
Talking about, you can get your hair if it don't grow. Singing and pretty to the girl. And I ain't nothing.
Asante
Oh, my God. You know what I'm saying?
Dustin Ross
Like, she was on that. But anyway, I don't remember that. In a recent interview, she was recalling a story from being on tour with Boyz II Men and saying that basically, ya and them didn't treat them right in some capacity with rule whatever. You could go find it. You could do your own research. Yeah. Responded to that and said, quote, bro, I'm just trying to figure out where she got this story from. Chili was nowhere around our organization, and we were nowhere around theirs besides going on tour. I keep seeing this, and it blows my mind every time. That's what he said. Okay. That's literally what his responses. And he used emojis and stuff. And then he actually commented a second time and was like, damn, sis, use an emoji. And then put Lisa would never put another emoji into question marks. So he's on the Internet being messy. What did Rollie say? Childish Rollie from Betty's is like, yeah, what you over here being messy for? She said that or whatever, right? And I've used that at the top of the show. But that's what we need to say to Wan ye. Now, the reason I brought this up is because this is not the first time that we've heard about Wanye being rude and nasty. Back in the day, Candi Burris has a show called on that Note on her YouTube channel. She's got a bunch of digital content. And in her show on that note, there's an episode where she recalls a story, right, where she was working as a songwriter writing songs for Boyz II Men. They had a studio session, and they were, according to her, very rude. Well, Wan Yay specifically was very rude to her in the story, the way she told it. And those of you who have followed Kang ni know that she's had a pattern of telling the truth about recalling old events.
Fran
A reliable source.
Dustin Ross
And the way that he reacted to her sharing that story kind of made him look the same. He started doing basically just like what he's doing in these comments, using emojis, trying to read quote unquote and all that other shit. And so what's going on with Wanye? I don't give a damn how good you can sing, okay? You will be on bendy knee bringing that added nasty attitude around here with me. God damn it.
Fran
And I just want to name all his kids Wanye. He did, like four of them.
Asante
Aren't they. Aren't they a kids group or.
Dustin Ross
They are, and they can sing very well. They were signed to Mary J. Blige. And so it's four sons. The group is called Juan Moore W a n m O R. Which, of.
Fran
Course, which is great. Like, that's what we should be asking.
Dustin Ross
Because he gave birth to one more every time he had they name him one year.
Asante
He me told.
Dustin Ross
But he got a daughter. I think he has two daughters actually. And they both. All of his kids. Don't tell me all of his kids can sing. No, they're all not named.
Fran
I was like, come on now.
Asante
I really thought that's what we were going to.
Dustin Ross
And they're.
Fran
And they're named Wanya Asante.
Dustin Ross
Do you hear her?
Asante
Yep. That's what I thought we was going to. That said, I thought that's exactly yes.
Dustin Ross
Do y' all hear them children, though? Because when I tell you every last one of his kids can sing they ass off. Not just. I don't mean hold a. No, the one two. The one two. I'm talking blow. Blow.
Fran
Oh, I would die. I would.
Dustin Ross
It's crazy, man. And they sing like him. They sing like him too. Y' all know how is this on me? You know how he see that all. All the autumn kids, all of them sing like that.
Asante
Like. Like what.
Fran
Face.
Asante
The voice is. Anyway.
Dustin Ross
So what's going on with him though? Why is his attitude so damn bad? That's what we need to be talking about. Why is his attitude so bad? That's what we want to know. And why is he bothering these. These RB singers like this? What is your problem? What is your damn problem?
Asante
Why is he online?
Dustin Ross
Wan yay. Come on the show and speak for yourself. We'll have you be a guest over here. Come on. Yay. Because I'm a. You're gonna be a man today.
Asante
Come on over here.
Dustin Ross
Wan y might have been a boy then this is the two. Okay, boys, two men right here.
Asante
Come on. Oh my God.
Dustin Ross
So that's it for me this week.
Fran
That is it for our intro. Let's jump into this week's episode.
Asante

This week is. It's still spooky season here on the Friend Zone. And of course, like you guys know, this week is a Dustin Ross takeover. So Dustin, what's it gonna be this week? Dustin.
Fran
You made me sound so sweet.
Dustin Ross
So being that it's spooky. Thank you, Fran. So.
Fran
I can't.
Dustin Ross
Being at. It's still spooky season here at the Friend Zone, I decided to continue in my tradition, continuing that tradition, first of all. But also, we haven't done Bible stories in a while and you already know.
Fran
We love the Lord intersection.
Dustin Ross
You know what I'm saying? We love the Lord. He heard our cry. And so, so I decided to speak again. You are literally on your vernacular today, right? Because you just said intersection and that's what this is about, right? The intersection of those two worlds. Spooky season in the Bible. Now, in a different approach this week though, because we're not going to focus on one specific story. I think a lot of people are actually unaware of a lot of the literal spooky ass stories that are in the Bible, you know, What I'm saying, there's. Oh my goodness, there's. There is literal witchcraft. There's ghosts, people walking on water. There is, you know what I'm saying?
Fran
Yeah.
Dustin Ross
Cannibalism. There is, you know, all kinds of straight up violence. Maiming, you know what I mean, to maim a motherfucker, you know what I'm saying? It's a lot of that in here. And so I decided to do a little research church and compile a few since this, the last week. We're gonna hit you with all five fingers with a bunch of different spooky elements and stories from the Bible this week. So let's start the process, shall we? Like Tiffany Pollard said, wow.
Asante
Instead of like Tales from the Crypt, it's like Tales from the Bible.
Dustin Ross
Yeah.
Asante
Did you ever used to watch that show Tales from the Crypt?
Dustin Ross
Yeah, I sure did.
Fran
Little skeleton.
Asante
Every episode was different. So that's going to give us like a little mini episode.
Fran
Yeah, it was crazy. Yeah. The little giggle. They had like little. They had like two teaspoons of hair. The little gray hair.
Dustin Ross
Yeah. Looking just like nappy.
Asante
Legit.
Dustin Ross
Yeah. Crip keeper look just like that. But you know, it's a lot of weird crazy stuff. Sometimes you can kind of zoom out a little bit as a matter of fact, because we about to just talk real quick because I actually want to pick y' all brain about this. There's one of the most basic stories ever, right. That has been told to children all over the world. It's a tale all this time from the Bible. What would you say the most famous child friendly story from the Bible is? When you think about children's stories that are told all over the world from the Bible, what would you all say the most famous one is?
Fran
David and Goliath.
Asante
Yeah, that's the one that sticks out to me.
Dustin Ross
That's.
Fran
I was gonna say Job, but Job is pretty dark. Like I don't know if you want tell a kid, you lose it all.
Dustin Ross
But maybe David, he. Job had grown people problems too.
Fran
That's why I was like, yeah, you don't trouble k that.
Dustin Ross
But David and Goliath is actually a great answer. But there's another story if you really zoom out. I'm talking basic like building blocks. One, two, three, Red, yellow, green. Basic stories told the children. Children. Noah's Ark.
Asante
Oh yeah.
Fran
Oh yeah.
Dustin Ross
Think about it. Noah's Ark, right?
Fran
Yeah.
Dustin Ross
Now when we think about the story of Noah's Ark, what do we think about? We think about Noah, we think about his family, we think about him protecting certain animals. But there's another side of that, right? One of each, you know what I'm saying? We think about order, organized survival, basically, right? That's what we think about. But let's dig a little deeper. What the fuck was they surviving from? No, the story of Noah's ark is fucked up when you think about it, right? Because only certain people were being saved from something, right? What were they being saved from? Y' all destruction and death, right? By flood. Think about some of the horrific floods. We ain't even got to name nothing, but think about some of the horrific floods that we've witnessed and think about the long term, term decades, long effects that have happened from like that flood damage. And now if you know anything about your Bible and you read that story, that water was coming from everywhere during the flood, okay, it was coming from above. As above. So as below or whatever the saying. What's that? People be saying, yeah, that all that water was coming from everywhere. Killing babies, killing people, slaughtering people from avenge with a vengeful intention. Right? That was according to the story, God deciding to murder and end all these people to stop some sort of, you know, trait and behavior that was deemed unholy. Hit it. Sam Smith and Kim Petrus. Unholy, right?
Asante
That song they had.
Dustin Ross
Yeah, that's some crazy shit. Think about the. Think about what that destruction looked like. Think about them animals being slaughtered. Where was. I heard Peter say shit about the flood. Nothing.
Asante
Literally all like, outside of the. The ones chosen for the ark.
Dustin Ross
Yes, and it was a violent death, too. It was death by destruction. You know what I'm saying? It wasn't just there was even like. When you think about some of the plagues and shit that happened in the Bible where they. They issued plagues to the different tribes and shit, that was it. Death. But it was a different kind of sweeping, I guess. Everybody just. All the bodies hit the floor, you know what I'm saying? Type in one sweep. But this right here was like tearing up homes, tearing up people. Anybody that was not on that arc, you know what I'm saying? What about the other boats capsizing and screaming? All that water filling up their lungs, that was vulnerable.
Asante
None of it was instant or peaceful or none of that.
Dustin Ross
And this is a story that we talk about, we tell, like I said, we tell children all over the world. You know what I'm saying? And we. And it's a cautionary tale, right? But when you look at what's on the other side of the caution, it's just like, dark to me. You know what I'm saying?
Fran
You know, they sanitize those stories. It kind of reminds me of. Is it Disney? No, not Disney. I can't think of where, like, they're. A lot of those movies are based on like actual tales that are really fucking dark about like moms being killed and all these things. But they've sanitized it to make them love stories and kid friendly cartoons. But apparently if you look up the actual tales, they're all like really dark and, you know, heavy. And I feel like it's the same with children's Bibles. Like, they're like, and then he built a boat.
Dustin Ross
Yeah.
Fran
Cause one of each animal, you're like, okay.
Asante
Literally. Because to both your point, like when you first asked the question and me and friend were like, duh, that is the most obvious answer, I immediately thought of every time I saw Noah's Ark as a cartoon, you know what I'm saying?
Fran
With the animals, like going through the up the plane.
Asante
That exact voice just telling us like, oh, okay, cool. Like, not like, like, you know, hearing it as a child. You're not thinking to yourself, well, what.
Fran
About everybody going on this boat? What happened?
Dustin Ross
Where the other sheep at?
Fran
Right, Right. And why can't they come?
Asante
Yep.
Fran
Yeah.
Dustin Ross
Remember that little, that video of that little girl from back in the day on the 4th of July with them bowls in her head when she was in the back of that car? She's like, it's 4th of July and you better probably have fireworks where the police said they remember that siren came to list. The audience know exactly what I'm talking about. Because people, people post it every fourth of July. You know what I'm talking about? Asante. A little black girl in the back seat of the car. It's fourth of July. Better not pop no fireworks. Where the police at. And then like the police car jumps in the back seat. It's so funny. But where was the other sheep at? That's what I want to know. Think about all of that.
Asante
Oh my God.
Dustin Ross
And the language is something like this, this language in this, as Kim Burrell said. And they've gurgled in that video. She was like, when she was issuing that half ass apology, big. Anyway, she was issuing that half ass apology and she gonna say, you know, there's a church, church jargon that people just don't understand. They call, they call the congregation, right? The flock. And then people who are non believers, they call them the other sheep. You know what I'm saying? So where was exactly that one sheep, you know what I'm saying, went up that ramp, making noise. You know how sheep feet sound, clicking hard on everything, sort of going up that wooden ramp, on that bone, that Handmaid boat. Where were the other sheep? Where was Lamb Chop? He wasn't playing along no more, you.
Asante
Know what I'm saying?
Dustin Ross
That's what I'm saying. So just, let's just think about that. When it comes to eerie dark in the Bible, you know what I'm saying? Let's also talk about. Talk a little bit about the Book of Numbers, right? Because there's a chapter in the Book of numbers, chapter 16, to be specific, that is crazy. In this chapter, it's describing Moses leading God's people out of slavery in Egypt. Y' all know the story. And into the promised land, right? The land that he had promised them to live and be holy in, right? And you would think that it'd be an exciting time in Israel, but no, during this time, it's according to my notes, God's people became literally the equivalent of a badass kid, you know what I'm saying? Like just, just. Just not nitpicking, tapping on the shoulder, incessant questions, unsettled, just. Just whiny, right? Grumbling, complaining about everything in the Promised Land. The food a same, you know what I'm saying? The camel humps ain't comfortable for our asses when we riding the camels, you know, they was complaining about every damn thing. We sick of dust. They was complaining about everything over there. For some reason. I just foresee the dirt roads and adobe houses, you know. You know, that biblical look. I ain't never seen grass really, like a. Maybe the Garden of Eden. But when you think about, like, moist enough out there, everything biblical, you just. You ain't really seen dry.
Fran
Dry and sad.
Dustin Ross
What's those gardens that were one of the seven wonders of the World? It was some sort of garden. I used to be obsessed with the seven wonders of the World. And it was a garden back then where it was like. Anyway, that's all I can think of when I think about plants and shit. During biblical times, I never seen no grass and lawns and fields and shit, you know what I'm saying?
Fran
Gardens of Babylon.
Dustin Ross
Gardens of Babylon? Yeah, Hanging gardens of Babylon.
Fran
Hanging gardens. Hanging Gardens of Babylon. I just googled it.
Dustin Ross
Anyway, so during this time, they were impatient about how long it was taken to get to the promised land or whatever. And so a man named Korah, who was on the trail with Moses being led to the Promised land. And two of his homeboys started like, a rebellion. And this rebellion, right during this time of travel is spread so far that they enticed over 250 prominent, important Israelite men to join on their. And then started questioning, like, worship rituals, God, all this shit they like now that we at. And what group of people do that sound like? Like, now that we got community, let's change every goddamn thing, literally, right? Everything, right? And so Moses, though, he called their bluff, y'.
Fran
All.
Dustin Ross
You know what I'm saying? You think you finna switch up on me? Hell no. Do it. You know what I'm saying? That's the energy Moses had or whatever. He called their bluff and told cora and all 250 of his father followers to prepare themselves to appear before God the next morning. You know what that means? You know what I'm saying? And so he said he was going to have God decide who the chosen leader was. So the next day, no sooner than Moses had got done telling them these terms or whatever, the ground opened up underneath Korah and his two main co conspirators and swallowed them, their tents and their families.
Fran
Damn.
Dustin Ross
Don't fuck with me, okay? That's. That's what they said. Now imagine having an argument, because that's basically what that was, right? They had an argument. You didn't already got soldiers literally behind you and shit. You was just arguing with this motherfucker the day before about like Michael Jackson said, who's bad? You see what I'm saying? Like, that's what y. These. You just had a face off with this motherfucker, right? And in the middle of the argument, the nigga gonna tell you. Cause you know, people throwing God in the arguments when they feel like they right. God gonna show you. We gonna.
Asante
We.
Dustin Ross
You can take this to God.
Asante
God show you which one about me, right? Which is what God showed favorite, okay?
Dustin Ross
And the next day, the ground open up underneath you and just get rid of you.
Asante
Ended your bloodline.
Dustin Ross
You ever been to concert where the people drop down in the stage at the end and you be like.
Asante
Like in trap, arrest came up.
Dustin Ross
That's what this is, man. That's literally what happened. So this happens. It swallows down, right? The ground closes back up around them. Then God strikes down all 250 of the other. Like, the people that have rallied behind them with fire burning up, burnt the drop them down in the ground. Which probably, I guess the theme was hell, because where you think they was going according to the rules of this time period?
Asante
You know what I'm saying down there.
Fran
Was according to gps, okay?
Dustin Ross
And the S stand for sheol.
Fran
Okay?
Dustin Ross
Anyway, that's for the people that know the book. Anyway, so this happens. The. The. He kills the 250 co conspirators with fire. Then a plague breaks out. My gosh, a plague breaks out, killing 14, 000 people before Moses is broken. Brother Aaron stepped in to stop it. All this mayhem. Yeah, that. That's all in numbers. Chapter 16. Okay, but don't nobody want to talk about numbers. Chapter 16.
Fran
Here's my question. You know during dark times when people say, read the Bible because it's supposed to comfort you. Comfort you. But these stories are so heavy. I. I would love to know from the listeners that lean on the Bible, Bible, where are the parts? Are there parts you skip? You know? Like, I'm wondering, are there parts where you, like, let me not read that.
Asante
Like Tony Braxton. There are other books.
Fran
I'm just so curious because I feel like this would have me down in the dumps.
Dustin Ross
Remember, we played that on the show. Oh, for what? That's what she said. There are other books.
Fran
Which is crazy, friend.
Dustin Ross
That's, that's, that's.
Asante
That's crazy too, because I think about that. Like, is this supposed to be. Like, there have been worse times? Like, right.
Fran
Like, what's the lean in part? Exactly. Because if I were reading this, especially with how we're feeling now about the world with our own floods and our own destruction and our own plagues, is it to feel like, oh, this has been happening and, you know, we'll always be fine? Like, I just want to understand, what.
Dustin Ross
Are we gleaming here? You know what I'm saying? What are we gleaning? I don't know. I just had a conversation with a dear friend last night about my understanding of these. Because the Bible is a collection of stories and reflections, right, that are inspired that people to believe, to be inspired. And to me, it's. It is a record of occurrences and events that people can glean lessons from that inspire you, inspire your character, your behavior, your morality, your development, your delays, you know what I'm saying? Because you're supposed to wait to fuck. So all of those things, you know what I mean? And I just think you can do that from things. And that's probably why Toni Braxton has said that. I don't know if you know, but people are passionate, passionate about the Bible. Like.
Fran
Yes.
Asante
Did you know that?
Dustin Ross
Like Quad and Carlos King in the interview. Did you know that? I didn't know that. Shout out to Carlos. But yeah, like people will really you up talking about the Bible and they. It's very, very serious thing.
Fran
And they know all the books, which I'm so, like Supremely impressed by.66.
Dustin Ross
Okay.
Fran
I just think that's so cool.
Dustin Ross
But yeah, so that's just one section of the Bible that is a little bit different. Let's keep it moving. Right. In this section, we're gonna talk about limbs being cut off. Okay. We can move a little bit forward in the Bible. And let's talk about how when God's people finally made it to the promised land, things just quickly went awry. Cause there was no leadership, there was nobody running things. Remember I told you Moses brother had stepped in, cut down the damn shit. I guess he passed out CPACs, you know what I'm saying? Z packs to everybody. You know what I'm saying?
Fran
Yeah.
Dustin Ross
And they should gave everybody that shot, you know what I'm saying? And everybody was chilling at that point or whatever. But during this time. And we'll speed up to Judges, right? The book of judges, chapter 19. I've always thought there's a book in the Bible called Judges. How poetic. But anyway, in Judges, chapter 19. And by the way, this is by no means an attack on anybody's faith, anyone's religion, anyone's choices, anyone's beliefs. I am one of the most tolerant on the earth when it comes to people's beliefs, customs, all of that. I respect it. We're just talking about stories in the Bible that are. Halloween is scary. Up things happen. That's all this is. We ain't. We ain't encouraging nobody to believe. Not believe. We're not telling you don't do. Do it. We're not telling you don't believe it. None of that. I want to be clear about that.
Asante
These stories are all creepy at their core.
Dustin Ross
Right. And after saying that, if you still have a problem with it, then kiss our ass. Okay. I just want to put that out there as well. Asante. Did you have another.
Asante
I just wanted to say, because to go from everything being wiped out by water, the ground opening up like these are all creepy things. Like, these are like spooky. Spot on.
Dustin Ross
Hell yeah. And by hell yeah, I mean Hellraiser, you know what I'm saying? Like that movie with the man with the pins coming out. Anyway, watched Hellraiser when I was a kid and I watched it like this.
Fran
Thank you.
Asante
All right.
Dustin Ross
I can't even imagine. No, no. Her TV probably wouldn't even work. It'd just be like her wouldn't even juice. What's up? But In Judges chapter 19, there was a Levite man from the tribe of Israel who had gotten married to a woman who cheated on him, right? Okay. So obviously she'll pass. The dick was trash. So she had went on, you know what I'm saying, and cheated on him.
Fran
Jumped on to the next one and.
Dustin Ross
Went on the run after, right? So the Levi man, who was in his feelings about that, he chased the woman down, right? And in order for him to chase her or follow her, he had to go outside of his home area. And during that time in ancient Israel, when you traveled outside of your home area, you faced all kind of shit, you know what I'm saying? You ain't know what kind of people you was gonna run into. You didn't know what kind of conflicts you was gonna end up crossing or falling into. It was just, you know, it wasn't no Google Maps. Wasn't none of that, okay? It wasn't no. No Yelp reviews to let you know how shit was gonna be that did not exist, okay? Um, and so because he wasn't able to make it home in one single day with his wife, it took him a little bit longer to find her. He ended up staying overnight in a city called Gaba, right? And at the time, ancient Israel was divided into, y' all know, the 12 tribes of Israel or whatever. But the tribes are supposed to hold each other down, okay? They weren't supposed to be fighting with each other. They were supposed to support each other, Each other. The Levite lived in Ephraim, right? But I told you he stopped in Gaba, and that belonged to the tribe of Benjamin, right?
Fran
You would.
Dustin Ross
Okay, the tribe of Benjamin. Okay?
Asante
Now.
Dustin Ross
It was kind of awkward, you know what I'm saying? Like, they knew them and with that tribe, but they didn't. They knew they were supposed to support them type, you know what I'm saying? But it was a bit. Little tension in the air. I don't know what it was about. Maybe the cows were fatter or some shit. I don't know. What do you beef over back then? You know what I'm saying?
Asante
Right?
Dustin Ross
Talk about cattle. Anyway, okay, so during that time or whatever, as I said, he was staying there or whatever, and it was a little awkward, but he wasn't, like, scared for his life. And God had also made it clear that you had to be hospitable to strangers at this time, no matter their tribal background. So it was like the code to be nice or whatever. That night when he was sleeping in Gabella, a bunch of niggas, like, swarmed down on the crib he was staying in, right? They violently surrounded the home with an open intent on him. Okay, I bullshit you not. I told y'. All it's some crazy in here, right?
Asante
We just go literally.
Dustin Ross
Literally, that happens some kind of way. He had gotten to his wife at that point. Point. And they threw his wife in the crowd instead or whatever, right? Like, well, it. Y'. All. Y' all take her instead of us type, after you chase her down and try to find her or whatever, be really mad at her because she had an affair on you. So you decide to sacrifice her instead of y'.
Asante
All.
Dustin Ross
Like, we'll take him, right? The next morning, he finds the wife dead on the porch steps, right? Oh, my God. Mm. And as if that's not bad enough, he takes his wife into the house, turns her into 12 different pieces.
Fran
All right, now.
Dustin Ross
And sends one piece to each tribe, one piece of her body to each tribe. So they did. They did not even follow through. They didn't follow through on their intention. They wanted him. So since they threw her out instead of him, they just, you know, offed her or whatever because they weren't interested in her. They didn't have a desire for her. They wanted him. So they said, since you want to play games, we were going to kill your wife.
Fran
Instead.
Dustin Ross
He said, since you want to kill my wife, I'm going to send her back to each one of y' all tribes. You know what I'm saying? Since y'. All. Since that's what y' all wanted to do. And this is a very gruesome, horrible story that I guess the gory details are meant to reinforce to people that even in God's people aren't above getting down and dirty. Like, when they go low, we go low too. That's what type. Yeah. And this is all coming from the Bible. One more story we can do. It's a ghost story, right? We'll do this.
Fran
This is like an episode of Saw. Remember when they'd have different. Different, like, rooms with different ways to. There we go. Different ways to die. That's what this feels like. Yikes.
Dustin Ross
Yikes. Okay. I'm like, what Sunday was this? I missed. How did I miss? You know what I'm saying?
Asante
Yo, for real.
Dustin Ross
Okay, so one last story, y'. All. This is a ghost story. Okay, let's get ghoulie real quick. So again, there was no centralized leadership in the area, right? And so according to this story, the People of God actually got a king, so Saul. Yeah, I'm sure you heard of King Saul. S A U L, which all them Bible and biblical names that people be recycling all these years. I have never met a named Saul in my life.
Asante
I knew from the TV show, but.
Fran
I didn't know better ass Saul.
Dustin Ross
I ain't never. I ain't seen that. I still got the question. Yeah, so I've never met nobody in my life named Saul. S A U S. Well, I met Paul.
Asante
I've seen the name.
Fran
Actually a nice name, Saul. I like it. And you said Ephraim earlier, and I really like that name. I don't know why. I love a biblical name. They just sound so strong.
Dustin Ross
I have a son named Ephraim with.
Asante
A Caesar rooted in faith.
Dustin Ross
Friend Caesar waves and little earrings, pink lips, brown skin. Name.
Fran
Did Ephraim like, you gotta be cute if you named Ephraim. Now all the men named Ephraim going right in like, yo, hey.
Asante
Since she was asking, have a Ephraim.
Dustin Ross
Convention and walk in like the salt and pepper gang.
Asante
F for F.
Dustin Ross
Anyway, so during this time or whatever, King Saul was installed as the king. But he wasn't shit. He was impatient. He had a badass tempest emperor, and he had no intention of actually honoring God as a king, right? He was failing real bad. And so as the king, everybody, like, lost respect for him. So he had a really, like, long beef with the Philistines, right? Which is a biblical name that I've always loved saying because it sound like some said, get down, Philistines. You know what I'm saying? I always love saying that word. Even as a kid, when I was growing up in the religion that I grew up in, I. I don't really like putting the name out there because I ain't trying to shame it or the people that do it. I'm just saying that's what happened to me when the words Philistines would come up at the. At our gatherings. And I used to always be like, Philistines. But anyway, so at the time, Saul had beef with the Philistines. And they basically was like, yo, what's up? It's a battle. We finna like, go to war on you. We sick of you. We don't respect you. You. Let's let the beef cook. So this happened. Saul got his troops, but he was in. Have no confidence in his troops because he knew the Philistines was ready. They were prepared, right, to get his ass. So he never had God's spirit. He never was like, you Know, I guess deemed holy or whatever. And the one man that he used to rely on, he had a spiritual leader who was the prophet Samuel, right? Not to be confused with the singer Samuel, but they had a prophet named Samuel that he's called on, but he was dead.
Fran
Yeah.
Dustin Ross
So since Samuel was dead, you know, it used to be a singer actually named Samuel. You had to say his name like that. Y' all remember Samuel?
Asante
Anyway, that was.
Dustin Ross
That's some old school R B. Anyway, y' all can look up Samuel if you listen to this. Anyway, but back to Samuel, he had died. So this motherfucker literally had nobody to lean on or whatever. The battle was looming, and so Saul was. Was like, looking for anything. So his raggedy ass started calling out to God like, God, please. You know what I'm saying? While this was happening, he knew that God had given his people a strict rule, right? Which was no fortune telling, no mediums, no spiritists, nothing. None of that was okay. They deemed all of that to be negative, right? Or of the occult. He was doing it anyway. And so since, according to the story, God wanted his voice to be the only source of wisdom for the people, people, and he deemed everything else false gods. When Saul consulted that medium and asked her to bring back the spirit of the prophet Samuel, who he used to lean on at one time, right? You remember, who had died or whatever. Apparently the lady was able to do it. But remember, God said that shit was wrong according to the story. And so when Samuel came up, he looked at Saul like, why the fuck are you disturbing serving me? You know what I'm saying? Like, why am I here? You know what I'm saying? I didn't even want to be raised back up. What the do you want? That was the energy.
Asante
She did that or like, like, okay.
Dustin Ross
So come on back to the story.
Asante
I'm back on it. I'm back. I'm back.
Dustin Ross
I already know what you're doing right now.
Asante
You go.
Dustin Ross
You gonna come up with that story and an alternative timeline.
Asante
No, I'm not even deluding right now. I wanted to know, like. Because I'm like. Like, what do you mean? They. They. They raised the spirit back up.
Dustin Ross
She raised him from the dead. Kind of like on Coven, I guess when they put that back together, he was acting different than they thought he was going to.
Fran
Oh, God, that was so gross.
Asante
Yeah, okay. I'm. I'm still here.
Dustin Ross
So Samuel's spirit. When Saul raised the spirit from the dead and he started talking to him, Samuel's spirit told him, since the Lord has turned away from you and has become your enemy. Why are you asking me? This is literally from the scripture. The quote, it says, why are you asking me with a question mark? So this is a. You know what I'm saying? It was. Y' all know what it was. So he said that, and then he said, tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. And the Lord will hand Israel's army over to the Philistines. So in other words, you didn't brought me back from the dead. But no, tomorrow morning, not only you going to lose, you and your sons are dying. And God is going to give all your soldiers right over to the Philistines. Since you want to dig me up. Okay, okay. You didn't dug him up. Let's dig it all up. Because he literally was the bones that was buried. He ain't about him knowing where they was at. He's the bones. And he got a. So he got a surprise response, right? And literally when this happens, Saul falls out on the floor, right? He collapses in the floor of the medium home, right?
Fran
Damn.
Dustin Ross
He eventually comes to and he tries to fight like it, I'm going to bring my army in or whatever. But when it happened, what happened in the battle the next day, Saul and his sons got killed immediately.
Asante
So is this a cautionary tale about fucking with the dead? I don't know.
Dustin Ross
I think people feel like. Yeah, I think people feel like this teaches them to follow God's rules, whatever they believe God's rules are when it comes to matters like that. That some people use this as an example of why you shouldn't do that. People that believe that or whatever. And so, yeah, but that's what happened. He. But I thought now this story was funny to me because it was ghetto. I shouldn't say funny because there's nothing funny about none of this happening, right? Or people getting killed. Yeah, right. Yeah, but it was ghetto because it was like, motherfucker, I'm dead, okay? You gonna dig me up, bring me back to life and shit? What, the Lord ain't with you? Why you asking me? And since you want to bring me up, you and your son's dying tomorrow, okay? And y' all gonna lose that war. That was the attitude of the. The spirit. Now, the ghost had that sort of attitude with Saul for disturbing him from wherever he was at. I thought that was funny. I'm sorry. It was a very mona Scott Young, you know what I'm saying? I thought that was like love and hip hop tune. So, you know, it was good. But yeah. So I share these stories just to let y' all know that this is in the Bible, y', all, real quick.
Asante
Samuel is an American R B singer who was a former member of the R B group Club Nouveau.
Fran
Oh, I remember Club Nouveau. Okay, well, I didn't know about Samuel.
Dustin Ross
I told y'. All. Samuel. Hell yeah. So that's it, y'.
Fran
All.
Dustin Ross
But just know that the Bible is. Although it's a book of stories, it's. It's also a book of stories.
Fran
They got a dark side.
Dustin Ross
They got a dark side. It's a scrolling crossbones charm on they bracelet. Okay. Because these stories exist. So take that with you. During spooky season. I know a lot, a lot of people find it hard to walk in their faith and celebrate Halloween, but they still want to have that Halloween fun. So, you know, do it that with your you want, it's on you. So what you gonna do? And that's it for spooky season this year on the Friend Zone.
Fran

Fran
Big gifts, big perks. That's why you rack. So this week in wellness. I actually wanted to ask for our listeners to help with this segment this week. Obviously, you know I'll be able to read your responses next week. But if you're unaware, there is a hurricane, Hurricane Melissa, yes. That is currently hovering over the Caribbean. You know, from the conversations online, they're saying that it's going to hit Jamaica the hardest. It's going to hit parts of Haiti, apparently Cuba as well. And so my prayers are heavy right now for the, for the Caribbean. It's just so many, you know, the irony of you speaking of floods and disasters and this is very serious. I've been really disappointed with a lot of the discourse online. But I also realize Twitter is not what it used to be, where we could use it for information and community and resources. Now it seems that the antagonistic conversations are being amplified. Almost like that's what Elon Musk wants pinned right at the top of the algorithm. Because I'm seeing a lot of like storm chasers and people that this is kind of their kink, I guess you'd say.
Dustin Ross
That's weird.
Fran
Yeah. Like high category hurricanes and they're just like excitably following, but also fear mongering on top of that. Right. So sharing information about how devastating this is going to be and it's going to be such a disaster and you know, and it's just not saying that there isn't a way to keep people informed. Of course, you know, tracking the storm. I understand that there is a science to that, that's an actual career. I get that.
Asante
Right.
Fran
But there's a way that, that can be delivered that is resourceful as opposed to like making people anxious, like you said. Yeah. More so than they are already are. This is a very serious situation and I hate that, you know, and then there's. Then you go on TikTok and a lot of people, white people mainly, are more concerned with. Apparently there's like a yoga retreat that was taking place and so there's like a bunch of white girls that are stuck out there at a yoga retreat. I believe it's at like a villa. And so people are like, oh my God, are you guys following? And it's like, how about the like millions of other people that are fucking there? You know what I mean? So it's like no matter what platform I've gone on.
Dustin Ross
Yeah, I get it.
Fran
I just see the difference, you know, in the response and it just didn't seem useful. So it made me feel like, okay, that's where platforms like us come in.
Dustin Ross
You know what I'm saying?
Fran
I. The hard part is you hear about, you know, the history with the Red Cross and Haiti. Not trustworthy So I would love for people that know firsthand whether you have family with your, with their feet on the ground grounds in these countries, on these islands that, you know, these are orgs, you know, these are nonprofits, these are resources that are reliable that are going to get things where they're supposed to go. You know what I'm saying? If you guys can help me compile just from your firsthand knowledge. I actually did receive a dm. I want to pull it up right now.
Dustin Ross
I'm Googling now.
Fran
Yeah, Cato sent me a DM saying, hey, friend. I was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, and with this impending Hurricane Melissa, monetary relief will be welcomed for post hurricane reconstruction. I was wondering if you could highlight this relief fund for Jamaica to your listeners and community. We know there's strength in numbers, so any aid helps. And she actually sent me one that she says is apparently like the largest charity organization in Jamaica. And if you go to their Instagram, it's Food for the Poor J A Once again, that's Food for the poor J A their Instagram. They're already working together on the ground trying to help the community as best they can. And you can donate, they have links in their bio you can send, you know, whether it's volunteer work or whether it's finances, whatever it is that you can offer. So. So that's one that I want to definitely highlight. I love that it came, you know, from someone that is from Kingston, was from then. I feel like that's more trustworthy than us just as outsiders putting together resources that we're finding online. And the hard part about Google nowadays, I don't know if you guys feel the same way. It doesn't seem as reliable.
Dustin Ross
No.
Asante
Yeah, it does.
Fran
And trustworthy, the information. Yeah. Just seem, I don't know. Not that Google was ever like 100% reliable. You always had to consider the source. But it seems like extra unreliable these days. Like the shit that pops up and aggregates. Now I'd be like, what even is this? So I don't know.
Dustin Ross
That's a lemon.
Fran
That's why I'd rather tap into our listeners who have their ear to the ground and we can get firsthand information ourselves, create resources ourselves, gather that, you know. So thank you to Cato who put us on and if anyone else has resources that can help with the reconstruction that's going to be needed in Jamaica and any type of relief fund, please email me@franfeyfranhey.com I'll put all of that together as best As I can. I'll continue to do my research as well and just pray, Pray for Jamaica, pray for the Caribbean and every other is going to be affected by this. It's. It's scary. And like I said, try to stay off Twitter because they are speaking on it in such distant, you know, so like disengaged from humanity.
Dustin Ross
That's the word I was going to say.
Fran
Even though that's what Twitter feels like lately. But it's. They're speaking of it like, you know, the storm watchers. I get that this is exciting for them, but I don't see the consideration for human life in the way they're relaying it. Right.
Dustin Ross
So y' all can even email me real shit. Y' all can even email me resources and I'll. I'm open for this. Y' all can even email them to me and I'll share them with friend and make sure that they get to the show. So yeah, you can share them to everywhere that is listed.
Fran
Y' all know our socials. You can DM them. Really just get them to us. It really doesn't matter which form you use. But please, I just wanted to. To have our listeners come together and thank you, Cato, for kind of inspiring me because that's an org I've never heard of and I wouldn't have heard of it because it seems like it's very local to Jamaica and that's important to me. That's exactly who we want to send our resources to.
Dustin Ross
So thanks for that.
Fran
Exactly. So may we continue to be able to put those together for people. And as always, the link will be in the description box. And that's it. Prayers for Jamaica, Prayers for the Caribbean. That's it for this week in wellness.
Asante
All right, this week in music, we're going to start off with something super sweet. Our girl, Megan Thee Stallion is back with a new single and a new visual. The song is called Love a Girl. Have you had a chance to see any of the promo or any of the clips or maybe the whole video?
Fran
I saw clips.
Dustin Ross
I saw the video several times.
Fran
It was from her butt cheeks. Clapping.
Dustin Ross
Yes.
Asante
Yeah. Yes. Megan Thee Stallion is back with her newest single and she is talking about her man. Her man. Her man. Her baby.
Dustin Ross
Her baby.
Asante
I'm loving the new single. I'm loving the visuals. I love Megan Thee Stallion. I'm a lover boy. So it only makes sense that I would love a track called Lover Girl. I mean, that's really it.
Dustin Ross
I just love making Drop dead gorgeous. Drop dead gorgeous woman flat Out. That's a gorgeous woman and I love that she puts her beauty on display.
Asante
She, she puts her beauty on display. The talent is still super there, you know, like she's still gonna rap how she raps, but the production is always.
Dustin Ross
Like, that's a lot.
Asante
The, the, the, the dancing. I instantly said, oh, so we're gonna have new choreography for what? A new hottie tour. Like, okay, great. Like, I mean, excites me. Yes. This is what an artist is supposed to do, what they're supposed to give. Yeah.
Dustin Ross
And you know what? I was just watching, so MC Hammer has this song called Pump It Up. Here Comes the News. That's my shit and it gets me hyped up. And so I was watching him perform it live. They was at the Apollo. And the way that, that motherfucker was putting on a show, the way that he was dancing and like had dancers and he was a rapper, you know what I'm saying? Adding that element to the performance, performance is so valuable in that space. And that's one of the things that separates Megan Thee Stallion, because she's been dancing ever since we met her. And so like coming out, like the choreography being bigger and like the designs and just everything, the performance elements that she implements in her artistry, I appreciate them. As a rap fan, I appreciate that added entertainment value. So. And it ain't no, she ain't doing no TikTok shit. She's doing full, full out choreographed routines, you know what I'm saying? Like serious dancing. So I like that about her.
Asante
Yeah. And that's always going to be the difference, right? Like there are artists who decide, you know, like, oh, I've made it, now I need to dance. And you know, that's a choice if you could pull it off. Cool. But Megan Thee Stallion, she was doing dancing in school. She was. She has videos of her early songs and freestyles of where she's like doing like the J setting and shit. So it's like dancing has always been part of, of her. So she just decided to say, well, because, just because I'm rapping don't mean I can't dance. So I feel like it's amazing that she does that and I love that she pulls off these looks. There are, there are a few wigs in this video, but I'm only going to focus on two of them. There's this blonde bob. This blonde bob is like, we've seen it before. But not like this. This is the, this is a Tina Snow. This, this is a Tina Snow. But like on like, like Tina Snow really getting hers. And so I love that bob. Then towards the end, there's another wig. It's like a little bit of blonde in there and it's brown. It's like Rogue from X Men. It's, you know, Megan loves the anime and all the superhero shit, so it's funny that she makes these references, but she's still sexy doing these things.
Dustin Ross
Shout out to Kellen. Laying that hair out. Shout out to Kellen. Yeah.
Fran
Oh, yeah. He's cute.
Asante
I just. Everything about everything going on over there, it pleases me so. I love that. I am still proud to call myself a hottie. And yeah, I can't wait to see what else is coming along with this Lover Girl era. Dustin, that was crazy, but spot on. Lastly, because this is going to be short, I would like to give a huge shout out to Mandy B over down in Atlanta, who's at a part of Hot 1079 on the right radio. Yes. Let's clap it up for Mandy B.
Fran
Wait, you said she's part of what?
Asante
Hot 1079? That it's a radio station down in Atlanta. She has a spot on Saturdays from 6 to 8pm oh my God.
Fran
Perfect for her.
Asante
It is perfect for her. And along with that perk, her and the good people down at the one music festival had us out and we had a blast.
Fran
That's so cute.
Asante
I had never been to Mandy. Yeah, no, for real. Shout out to Mandy. That's amazing, right? Like Mandy's. Mandy's one of those people who deserves, like, when you see her making those moves, it's like, damn. Like, of course, like, you deserve, like, you should be doing that. And it's. It's funny because when we first talked about this festival, she just thought like, oh, yeah, I'm just gonna be going. And I was like, girl, you're. You're not working. You should be. You working. And then she hits me up and she's like, so I'm working. You spoke that up. I was like, girl, I knew you was gonna be working just because of how we know that she is. Like, of course you're supposed to be doing that. What the stage. That is so funny. She was out there with a lot, a lot of people on the radio, which was super dope. It's dope to see people south there doing their thing. Even Big Ticket was on one of the stages. It's just dope that he moved down to Atlanta, ends up on the radio. He's on View on three, I think now, but just doing this thing down there. So it's a. Yeah, just legends only. Speaking of legends only. And I said I was going to keep this short. I'm only going to say talk about. Yes, I was there. That's why I was thinking. That's why I was thinking, man. And the good people at Hot Hot 107 Legends only.
Dustin Ross
And since it's Atlanta.
Asante
You know, I had my a hat on. I had a really good time. Too good of a time. I had too good of a time. Shout out to oh, shout out to everybody for that. Showed love to the show. It was so exciting and amazing. Just turning around and seeing people with us.
Dustin Ross
For real.
Asante
Atlanta does with us. Atlanta is one of those cities that just. We have so much love in that city and we love you right back. Like, seeing y', all, it is never awkward. People like, hey, hey, what's up? Like, it was like a black ass family reunion because it was. It was a homecoming weekend. So there was just a lot of black ass things happening. A lot of black ass people. A lot of dope ass people out in the crowd, like just walking around enjoying themselves. I told y' all who I saw. I oh, and shout out to Ziya Bell. This was supposed to be short a Not only. No, not only did I see her. Z Bell hooked it up and that's all I'm going say. I'm g tell y' all the rest. After shout out to Z Bell, I just want to share one highlight. This is going to be my only highlight from the show outside of all the other things I just discussed, I guess. The stage that Mandy B was hosting was the Southern Lady St stage. This stage consisted of Kin the Man, Flippity bank Ro n and Rashida. Now I was there for this entire set. Everybody did their thing. Can the man does her mother does her mother thing. Flip a te did her te. The. That does the. The. The tick. The. Well, the.
Dustin Ross
The.
Asante
He's. He does the dance. He does a dance to that song. Like, literally, he just is always sticking his boot out and he goes.
Fran
And it's like that tall ass dude.
Asante
He was at the festival. He was not on the stage with Flipa T but he was at one of the activations doing me and Greek. I wanted to go take a picture with him. Lowkey. I want to be like, should I.
Dustin Ross
Start my TikTok now?
Asante
And the kid went with him. But no, it was too much going on.
Dustin Ross
You should have did it, dog. If I had have been out of there. Go. I made you do that, you know.
Fran
Oh, My God.
Dustin Ross
Go ahead, though.
Fran
He amazes me because people really be having him at the club and he just be doing that little pump dance.
Asante
That's literally all he does. And you know what? It's such a positive thing, and it's not.
Dustin Ross
Well, you know what? You know how I feel. If you got mom talk, let him do what he doing.
Fran
Mom talk.
Dustin Ross
Let him. Let them. Let all them through for real.
Asante
Plus, I don't see him. He. He does it in annoying places, but I don't see him do it in, like, the worst of places, like the Groovy Gorilla.
Fran
Oh, God.
Asante
What's his name now?
Dustin Ross
Big Groove, Right? He changed his name.
Asante
I just know once he changed his name, he's not in my algorithm no more.
Dustin Ross
He was tired of black people doing them like this.
Asante
Good. Whatever he said to take me out of it, I'm glad of it. Bankroll. N did her. I actually had to go back and listen to some of them records. I was like, damn, I missed out. And she's only a few months in. New Fresh. Fresh Hot. Get in. But for the star of this set, because she ended the set like Beyonce and actually tried to present herself like Beyonce.
Dustin Ross
She did the bad thing.
Asante
No, she did not do the bad thing. And the only reason I say tried is because some of the costumes or the dancers costumes were kind of reminiscent of a show. But I don't want to say because, like, girl, what? What? Everything else. I love Rashida.
Dustin Ross
Seen them red boots.
Asante
Rashida came. Came out, and she had a bunch of dancers. I feel like Rasheeda was one of the only people that had dancers the entire two days I was there.
Dustin Ross
As she should.
Asante
And Rasheeda reminded.
Fran
And she was home in Atlanta in her face. All year online, y' all have been.
Dustin Ross
Playing the Rashida concert. That's incredible.
Asante
The Rashida concert.
Dustin Ross
You need a shirt. You should sell shirts that say, I was at the Rasheeda concert.
Asante
I was at the Rasheeda concert. And you know what, Mandy. Me and Mandy. She said she wanted to do, like, a sit down and discuss the one music festival in its entirety. So I should just be like, that's all I have to say and leave that for that. And we can put that on Patreon, but I'm not gonna do that.
Dustin Ross
And then you need to do a Rasheeda concert review by your damn self because you was at the Rasheeda concert. That's. That is a. That's like being able to say you went to Bella Noches for real.
Asante
So should I. So should I say that. Should I save that for Patreon?
Fran
You should.
Dustin Ross
Yes.
Asante
Y' all heard my highlight. It was Rasheeda. If you want to know exactly why and you want to know more about the one music festival, me and Mandy will be doing a crossover for her podcast, Selective Ignorance, and you will be able to find that Patreon. So that is going to be it for. Oh, that's it for this portion of the Music man segment. Now we can move on to the listens lately songs to play, because I know y' all been listening to things.
Dustin Ross
We need to give it up for Ahsante for being at the Rasheeda concert.
Asante
You are for real.
Dustin Ross
Because I don't think people need to understand that. That is an iconic. That is an iconic. You know what? That is an accolade. That's what that is. That's an accolade for you. My. Like, that is culturally.
Asante
Thank you.
Dustin Ross
It's a thing.
Asante
You were there.
Dustin Ross
You was. Real receipt.
Asante
You know, honestly, there are layers to what you're saying, but. And then there are my own, like, sub layers. I had a job back in the day, and I. Rashida, she. She was one of the. She was somebody I had exchanged payment from. She put out a black card on me in, like, 2006, 2007.
Dustin Ross
Like, like, had been that.
Asante
Yeah, been that. And like, I remember her from, like, the 90s, like, like, early 90s, doing some rap records and being like, what the. Because she was a. Wasn't she in a girl group too, with somebody? Like, Rashida has been around, like, so it's like to see her come back and to see her looking so good.
Dustin Ross
Good.
Asante
I was like, you know what?
Fran
And she's always been pretty.
Asante
She's always been beautiful, but she still is beautiful. You know, sometimes it's like people lose a little steam. It's like she still got that same look. It's like. And then to. In the set to say, hey, come see me at some of my businesses, and to shout out her. You know, her. Her food business, her store. Like, I hear that boss moves. I'm not mad at it at all. Candy. She's friends with the candy. So that's it for this portion of the Music man segment. Friend, what you been listening to? Thank you, Dustin.
Fran
So I gotta.
Dustin Ross
You know, I'm gonna give it up. I'm gonna give it up. Okay. When it's due, I'm gonna give it up. You know that.
Asante
I see future.
Fran
I gotta. I gotta rep. I gotta rep for Harlem. Big L and Nas dropped the Song called you Ain't got a Chance. And you know, I was like, what? Y' all know I lived across the street from the big El murals?
Dustin Ross
I guess I could say I used to live over there now, too, huh?
Fran
You did, right?
Dustin Ross
Yeah, I smoke weed. In front of that, I got.
Fran
Big L, Nas. You ain't got a chance. This is how it goes.
Dustin Ross
Yeah, yeah, Big L, Coleon flamboyant, baby, for life, for life.
Asante
I need a key, you see Jiggy push the V Twiggy large like Free Willy be broke, don't be silly, use a low life, no hoes, no ice don't be mad at me cause I chose your wife with this rap I'm so nice don't cooperate with pole ice all my spare time I like to roll dice not for petty change, play for GS and better you won't be rich as me if your whole crew put your cheese together Cash I got plenty Microphones, rock mini, everything I touch is in the top 20 dumb hits I'm the one chicks be hawking a lot, a lot. Stay driving so I don't be walking a lot in the chains and diamond rings that I be flossing is hot plus expensive meaning it be costing a lot. I'm the one cuzzle never slayed with a bum hole. If a chick lips is jumbo, I want some gumbo in a mouth is where my gun go.139 is where I'm from, bro. You know that. I'm just reminding you front they'll be finding you with shells from my nine.
Dustin Ross
And you do traps, that's fire.
Fran
We over here talking about where we.
Dustin Ross
We did the whole video.
Fran
Patreon gets that treat because they can hear our conversation while we're playing the song. They be dying, by the way.
Dustin Ross
It's a whole other show.
Fran
It's a whole nother show. Y' all know that I'm a huge fan of Rachel Shanneriri. I've mentioned her before. She's a really dope black artist from the UK, but she has, like that 90s, angsty, like, indie pop sound. And I'm just such a huge fan of hers. She dropped this song. Really. I love anything she ever puts out, honestly. But she. I saw that she dropped the record. I'm actually on her thing, trying. I don't know why. Oh, she dropped on with Pink Pantheris. Is that how you say panthers?
Dustin Ross
Here we go. Y' all know we always come full circle. I told you I'm not gonna play that. We got pink panthers.
Fran
You Just say that. Which kills me. I saw a video of her. Did y' all see the video of her with Jay jt?
Dustin Ross
Yes. And JT was wrapping her ass up with all that money.
Fran
Weirded. JT looked over, like.
Dustin Ross
This is where the show goes into that territory that we end up going into every week. This is how it happens. I just want the record to reflect, continue.
Fran
She has a song called what a Life that I just find so uplifting and beautiful. And this is how it goes. Golden sunset on the hillside? Big dog, little stream, I'm peaceful and onions in the kitchen. You're in the garden raking leaves when you hold me in the moonlight. Well, that's a future I can see. I stop believing that it can be something more than just a dream. What a life, what a life. You're the only ground I need beneath my feet? What a life? What alive? You're the only place I know? Never want to leave. Wherever you go is wherever I be. You're the blue bells in the middle. I mean.
Dustin Ross
Yes.
Fran
Right? She gives me chills. I. It's funny because I discovered her on Twitter. There was a clip of her, of a video of hers that went viral. And when I heard it, I was like, oh, my God. I haven't felt this way about a new artist in so long. Just her sound, her lyrics, her melodies, her look. Like everything was just so exciting for me. And I went to her Spotify, followed her immediately and just sat and played. Played everything she's ever put out. And she gives me the same feeling India Sean does, where it's almost like they just can't miss because they are like real musicians. Like, she really is writing from such an honest place. And to me, those music musicians can't miss because it's always coming out from.
Dustin Ross
Somewhere, you know, like sexy red.
Fran
So I love her. I've mentioned her before, but I was excited to. To hear that song. And I just felt like, oh, my God, wasn't it so beautiful? Please check her out. Rachel Shinneri. Her last name is spelled because I know y' all are gonna ask C H I N O U R I R I Shinneriri. And she's great. I really like it.
Dustin Ross
I went to high school with a girl named Shinri, and I always thought her name was so pretty when I was Shinna Ray. Mm. Her name was Shinrae. She had a sister that is pretty. Actually, I ain't gonna say her people's name. Cause somebody. I went to school with a girl named Shinrae, and I always thought Shinnarae So this one makes me think about.
Fran
That dream girl names.
Dustin Ross
Yeah.
Fran
And then lastly, remember Natasha Ramos?
Dustin Ross
Yes, yes.
Fran
Right from back in the day.
Asante
Yeah. Like, her name sounds familiar.
Fran
You know who she is? When I played the song, she was one of Pharrell's.
Asante
Yeah. Was she the one before Vanessa? Whatever. Like, I feel like there was always, like, a.
Fran
He always had a girl with a fitted.
Asante
But one of those. Okay.
Fran
The girl would have fitted. She popped up on my feed on TikTok. But I mean, like, her now because she recently got engaged, and I was so happy to see her face. I love her. She looks beautiful. Still. She still makes music. Funny enough. When I went on her page, I had forgotten that she did a story time that went semi viral maybe last year or something where she was saying that she. Her vocals were used for Jenny on the block.
Asante
I remember that. Yup. And how she's always.
Fran
It's something that's just always been, like, challenging for her. You remember Natasha Armo? She said even the part that goes from the Bronx, she was like, that's my voice.
Asante
Yep.
Dustin Ross
That sounded just like the damn record.
Asante
Yep.
Fran
And that just killed me. Cause I. Because it's like, even that part. Okay, but y' all know. Y' all already know. But I want to play some Natasha. Don't make me laugh. I want to play some Natasha Ramos. Her. My favorite song of hers that I literally played on repeat after I saw her face. It's called midnight hour. Unfortunately, you can't get it on any of the streaming services. I had to go on YouTube, but at least it's available there. And this is how it goes. Hello. No matter the distance we share the same existence Perfect timing It measures we will be together I know you think that I'm too young But I don't find what is going oh, my God. F again. I know you think that I'm too young But I don't know what is going on I hope you be every this messy time Baby, we When I stare in your eyes I see skies, sunshine Nostalgia of that era. This was her first song that she ever made with Pharrell. Yeah. And they worked together for a while. She was just one of my favorites. I just loved her voice, her sound, and she just had that really youthful, pretty, you know, pop, r b sound. It just worked for the time. And I'm just happy to see her face. She's still super beautiful, and I'm glad that she's still working on music. And yeah. Jenny from the block.
Asante
Those are my three Dustin Ross, what have you been listening to in the Bronx? No, I'm just kidding.
Dustin Ross
So there was a versus that took place this weekend.
Fran
Oh, my God.
Asante
Yes.
Dustin Ross
That was very significant in my household and reflected my youth. It took me back. I was so. I was ecstatic watching that versus. I was fucking pissed that it ended early. For those who don't know, this was the return of the versus platform. And this particular show was no Limit Records versus Cash Money Records. Now, I'm a man of a certain age. This was my era. Okay, I'm just gonna tell you. This was 100% my era. I'm from Flint, Michigan.
Fran
Same.
Dustin Ross
These songs meant a lot to me. These artists meant a lot to me. It was so damn good to see two people. I want to highlight number one, BG from Cash Money. We all know that BG had just gotten out. He just got out of jail maybe what, a year and a half ago. He had done a long bg. I know that BG was so happy to be home for that verses and to be able to perform his music and just so I was just happy to see him. And I know that had to feel good for him. Second person was from the no Limit side.
Fran
I know you gonna. I knew it.
Dustin Ross
Mia X. I knew you the biggest mama. Mia X. She had her hair in a 90s hairstyle.
Fran
I love this. She looks so good.
Dustin Ross
She looked beautiful. She's 55 years old. We know that. She had publicly had a cancer battle. You know what I'm. Yes. And so she beat that shit. She was looking good. One of her best friends, Kelly Price, was randomly on the stage behind her.
Fran
Okay, so that was Kelly Price.
Dustin Ross
It was Kelly Price. It really was Kelly Price. On everything I love, that was Kelly.
Fran
Price, not Kelly Price. And everyone was telling me I was tripping. Oh, my God.
Dustin Ross
That was Kelly Price. So I say all that shit.
Fran
Driving me crazy, though. I can't stand people. Yes. Like, put the phone down. You are being filmed.
Dustin Ross
Okay, but who gonna tell Kelly Price to put something down? You know what I'm saying?
Asante
Who?
Dustin Ross
Kelly Price look like she did what? Excuse me.
Asante
Out.
Dustin Ross
You know, she's been online cussing people out recently too. She just cussed people. Was mad at her because she said she. She was talking about the black women in her comment section that was talking about her tennis shoes while she was performing. She had on some high tops. Kelly had on some high top. High tops. She was performing in some high tops. And there were some women who did not like what she was wearing. And so she went online the next day and cussed them out and didn't give a about what she was saying. So I don't think at this point that was recent. So I don't think nobody on that stage want to be like, kelly, put your phone down. I don't think nobody wanted to go.
Fran
There with that was irking me. My God, let her rap.
Dustin Ross
It probably was getting on me ex nerves too Low key. Cause if I was performing, I'd be like that. Swatted like a fly. Yeah, okay, Escucha. Move that phone out of my motherfucking face. So anyway, I enjoyed the verses. And that being said, if it's literally called versus, so this is one time I'm gonna lean into the competitive dynamic. And I was on no limit side. While I have a. You were. While I have a deeply cemented rooted love for Cash Money Records, for Mannie Fresh as a producer and a. A brilliant creative. Let's not even talk about the fact that BG's song bling bling literally changed language globally. All over the world, people called Diamonds Bling. And that literally comes from that song. So the impact here was like unmatched. But the songs I like the most from that time were no Limit. It's a regional thing. They from. They all from New Orleans. But in Michigan, where I'm from, they with no limits music. They with cash money too. But the no Limit songs I remember. I don't care. I'll say it. I remember joyriding before. I had a driver's license in my parents car. Me and my cousins had just come back from a trip with our parents. And then they went out to dinner about 45 minutes away. My mama had just got a brand new gmc. Jimmy, I'm gonna tell it. Come on. And so we took that bitch and we was riding around the neighborhood. Me and my cousin Andre shout out to you. We was riding around the neighborhood blasting the Tru no Limit Soldiers album. Blasting that. And so seeing these songs, hearing these songs, it just took me back there. So today.
Fran
And I tell you my. My name on Mi gente was Booty Bling Bling.
Dustin Ross
It don't get no. It don't get no realer than that. It don't get no realer than that's how much it meant to us.
Fran
Black Planet and me. And then Booty Bling Bling. You might have crossed my path.
Dustin Ross
Here she go. Living large and in charge. So I just want to dedicate my selections this week to no Limit Records. I'mma play all no limit music this week. So the first song I'm going to play. The first song I'm going to play is from Mia X. This is her and the no Limit Rapper Fiend. And this song is called I Think Somebody. That's I Think Somebody by Me X A thing. The next song that I'm gonna play is by Tru. Actually, you know what? We're going to play a song from the TIU album, but it's by Master P. And it's this for Flint, Michigan. This song is called Swamp by Master.
Asante
P.
Fran
This is killing me.
Dustin Ross
I ain't coming for no coffee. Straight up co.
Asante
Here go the money.
Dustin Ross
Got the coke here go the co.
Asante
Back.
Dustin Ross
Should I say New Orleans, California?
Asante
And voted me some dank weed rolling on blunts call it swishes we I got bird 16,5 a G F when.
Fran
You hit me it's 18,5 I got.
Dustin Ross
Attached to two GS just for taking a ride. Cause down south ain't playing Swamp by Masterpiece.
Fran
Where did they get the audience from?
Dustin Ross
The wrong place.
Fran
They were young. They didn't know the words. I was like, they needed an older audience of actual fans. At least that's how it came across in the edit. I mean, I don't know.
Asante
I agree.
Fran
I was watching, right? Nobody knew the words.
Dustin Ross
And it pissed me off. Cause when Master P played Bourbons and Lacks, I don't understand why it wasn't nobody else singing. And hip rolling and body rolling in the audience. That was a rap slow song. Also, when Matt came out rapping, I can tell from the 504 boys, you know what I'm saying? Without Mercedes. And she said she was gonna sue.
Fran
She was.
Dustin Ross
And then she posted the video today. I just want to apologize. Who you gonna sue? Ma', am, I can tell you've been out the game for a minute, you.
Asante
Know what I'm saying?
Dustin Ross
When it comes to the way performances work. And anyway, I felt bad, but that's why you don't go to your phone when you hide about stuff.
Fran
Yeah, yeah.
Dustin Ross
Anyway, the next song I'm gonna play. Damn it. I'm gonna play Free Codes. Free Codes by TIU Check this out. You like to shake your ass in.
Fran
The club.
Dustin Ross
Free coat, free coat Let.
Asante
Your knees touch your elbow Free code.
Dustin Ross
Free code.
Asante
Touch your elbows Free coat, free coat Boss your ass and let your knees touch your elbows Free coat, Free codes Boss your ass and let your knees touch your elbow One time.
Dustin Ross
Chase me, they couldn't take me My.
Asante
Baby mama, two kids couldn't break me So I went to the club and.
Dustin Ross
Met Nina, have you seen her?
Asante
She looked like Lena with the big butt.
Dustin Ross
Got it going on but got.
Asante
Got more kids than children of the con that's why I couldn't with them Even though I know she was a gold digging out the project Living for the county check but got the killer, that's why. Say, watch that hoe Watch that silly rabbit the tricks on you Stay true to the kissing get the coochie.
Dustin Ross
I get carried away.
Fran
That beat though.
Dustin Ross
Yeah. I can't. I can't help it. Yeah. So those are my three songs this week. I could play more, but it's so I was about.
Asante
Say, did you have one more?
Dustin Ross
I do, but I'm not even going to do that. That's enough Free co. All right.
Asante
Are you sure? All right.
Dustin Ross
We need to have a Music man show and just play songs or episode, but go ahead. I wish the Music man episode.
Asante
I wish I could bring back like the Music Box and like, people could like call in and like shout us.
Dustin Ross
Out and we could tell them we ain't that. Yeah, I play that. No. What's the next one?
Asante
First song that I will be playing off of selections because we were talking about the Brandy Monica tour. This song had been on my heart. I don't even know if she gonna perform it live in a code.
Dustin Ross
You see, Tyler Perry had on that same Louis Vuitton coach she had on. My friend sent me that picture. My friend sent me the picture dying. It's. It's a Brandy had on this like Louis Vuitton black and like silver checkerboard coat. I shouldn't say damier quote or whatever, right? But Tyler Perry was photographed in it too. He had it on too. So they did. They made like a side by side of Brandi in the coat and Tyler Perry in the coat. It was so funny.
Fran
And then the other clip, and the other clip, that was Monica, but people thought it was La Roach and the Gucci.
Asante
Yeah.
Fran
That was so funny, bro.
Dustin Ross
Dancing, rapping to down for my By C Murder. Speaking of no limit, let's really tie this thing together here. That's what she was in dancing to in that video.
Asante
While we're here, I'm here for Monica. I was not here for Brandy. So it came all the way back around. I've been singing angel of Mine and this is how it goes.
Fran
When I first saw you I already knew there was something inside of you Something I thought that I would never find. Angel of mine I look at you looking at me now I know why they say the best things are for me I going to love you, boy but you are so bright angel of mine how you change my world? You never know I'm different now you help me grow.
Dustin Ross
People be like, what, man?
Asante
That was angel of mine. In more Atlanta news because I'd missed out or I was late to the party with Bankroll. Now I just knew that she was so atl. She's so atl. She has a song I call Fine Shit. And I love the sample of the song. This song has been out too. So I'm late to the party. For those of you that might be heard that. So everyone else join along with me. Fine Shit.
Fran
Ben, don't go too crazy. Let's go I said I'm calling out a fine let's go I said I'm calling all a fine yeah, we can kick it but they still won't stop my grind Bitch, I'm on the money run and it feel like perfect timing they know I'm pressure got these on my body it's getting hot outside I'm calling all the fine shit. Yeah, we can kick it but they still won't stop my grind Bitch, I'm on the money run and it feel like perfect timing they know I'm pressure got these on my body.
Asante
I just. Look, we were outside and she. She started that said. And all you just hear is calling all the fine. And everybody. All the fine started rolling up. And I was like, oh, hold up. So I had to play that last thing I want to play. I've been listening to Haley Williams. Y' all know how we feel about Haley Williams. A lot of people only feel that way about her and Paramount Moore era. I have been consistent with her. I've been checking her out outside of that, because, you know, she still comes up on the Internet. So I still got to make sure she goes, people. She is great with the people. Those pipes. Yeah, she song out. This project has been out, but I think she re released it. I don't know, because I feel like this. This is the same project that's been out, but it has more songs on it. All I know is Haley Williams keeps giving us a ton of music, and I'm not mad at it. I've been listening to her project called Ego Death at a bachelor's party. I forgot the other song I played off of here, but this song's called Good Old Days. If I ain't play this one already.
Fran
Wait, this is her solo project?
Asante
Yeah. Haley Williams make solos.
Fran
When did this drop?
Asante
This one dropped Friday. This. Oh.
Fran
My God.
Asante
Oh, you know what? I think there were some singles out already, and I don't remember if this was one of the singles or not, but this project. Here it goes. That's cool.
Dustin Ross
Breaking good old days, right?
Fran
Desire T Wave I can't tame it I'm not a water bender can't change it I'm thinking maybe I need a surfboard.
Dustin Ross
Just got to ride it out get.
Fran
It all out when you're not fine.
Asante
Am I aloud when I was secret.
Fran
You kept me skinny Devo say do you regret me? I'm thinking, baby, should we go back? Stay friends, keep all the benefits?
Dustin Ross
Could sneak around like we're on tour Even if that's all you want me for.
Fran
You could call me Miss Petra more cuz I miss you.
Dustin Ross
Good for her. I'm with it.
Asante
The hard times time for the good.
Dustin Ross
Old days I'm with it.
Asante
That is it for the Music man segment.
Dustin Ross
Sounds like Lynn. The people that ain't still remember the girl who sang Still My Sunshine by Lynn.
Asante
For me.
Dustin Ross
Keep me versed on my feet. Yeah, yeah, that's my.
Asante
Check out Haley Williams.
Dustin Ross
She's still doing her shit anyway.
Fran
I didn't realize she dropped too dang. Friday was a big day for me.
Asante
Me. Yeah, even she.
Dustin Ross
Even she put some out.
Fran
Damn.
Asante
She said, let me get on up in there.
Dustin Ross
Then everybody was like, I'm telling you, Cardi B put that album out to music. She started all kind of okay, that's going on in music right now, and we love it.
Fran

All right, Dustin, watch what you been watching versus.
Dustin Ross
We can talk about that some more. No, I'm just playing. But in addition to verses, of course, Bell Collective, Friday nights on own. We got a bombshell episode. We had. Excuse me, a bombshell episode this this week with some allegations made against Glenn Pearson, who is the husband of Latisha Pearson, from a person who is a longtime friend of Latrice Rogers. And it just got real messy and like crazy or whatever. So you can check that out though. Please catch up cause Belle Collective is actually having a great season. Also, the Real Housewives of Potomac is having a great season. That's been great to watch. Wendy had binoculars this week and she wanted everybody to know she had binoculars every scene.
Fran
Wait, what?
Dustin Ross
They went to the Preakness horse race or whatever in Maryland.
Fran
Oh, okay. She was given that sort of bougie gotcha.
Dustin Ross
And she got off. She was invited by the first lady of Maryland who did not want to be filmed, and the camera didn't even catch her. But when they went to greet the first lady of Maryland, they froze the frame and they pointed an arrow to the edge of the screen and it said, the first lady of Maryland who did not want to be filmed prior to Sophie.
Fran
Oh my God. Mind you, they do that.
Dustin Ross
I'mma tell you exactly why. Because Wendy made it such a big deal that she was invited by the first lady of Maryland to go to the pregist race and she wanted everybody to come. Can you guys stop arguing right now? Here comes the first lady. It was that kind of shit. And when Wendy got off the sprinter van when they arrived to the Preakness race, she had her binoculars like this and she said hello. And she. And she woke up, her binoculars is right there. And then when they went to greet, when they were greeted by whoever was kind of escorting them to the area where they were going to be, she told her hi. She put the binoculars up. So she really was excited to say that she had those binoculars at the horse race, which, I get it, she.
Asante
Was trying to commit the binoculars to.
Fran
The bit I got you.
Dustin Ross
I think if she wanted it to make the cut. So what she did was did it twice and shout out to them editors was like, you know what? Every time you do It. We putting it in here. Since you want it to be in here. Since you want it to be in the cut so bad this week, we gonna put it in here every time. Time you use them.
Fran
The editors are so shady.
Asante
She. The editors loved it so much. The tick tock editors have been putting together little clips, you know, because of the binoculars.
Dustin Ross
Ring is shown when she's wearing.
Asante
And so. So there's a guy, he. He has a video. He's like me with an eyeglass looking at Wendy's jewelry. And there's clips of him just looking at her jewelry and random scenes. So that what you're talking about with her. The binoculars. I don't know if she's looking at her ring or something else, but she's looking at something else and it looks like she's looking at her ring. And he has his magnifying glass looking at the. The ring too.
Dustin Ross
They tearing her ass up.
Fran
This was on. Wait, this was on the list?
Dustin Ross
We don't know.
Asante
Well, we don't know.
Dustin Ross
57 items on that, right, y'?
Fran
All.
Dustin Ross
57 items. I. I don't want to see them go down. Yeah, I don't want to see them go down. Wendy got a beautiful family. Wendy has accomplished a lot of stuff. And I really hope that there is something we don't know that makes these alligators be different or non existent. I'm hopeful, hopeful, praying and be hopeful. Remember that faith song? Cause we're joyful. Yeah. Joyful that today. Yes. That's for Wendy and Eddie.
Asante
Yeah, sorry. I literally just seen a clip of a girl. She was trying to remember what that song was, and she was like, y'.
Dustin Ross
All know what that song is?
Asante
And it made me laugh so hard. I'm have to find that clip.
Fran
Yeah. Damn, y'. All.
Dustin Ross
You know, we need to give Wendy and them. Let's give Wendy and them some encouraging music selections, one from each of us, if you don't mind. I'm going to. I want them to be encouraged.
Fran
So until I have all the information, I shall stay silent.
Dustin Ross
You know what I'm going to give?
Asante
She said, I'm good with that.
Fran
Because you play stupid games, you win a stupid prize.
Dustin Ross
I mean, so more stupid than the binoculars appearing. So every time. Anywho. So the Real Housewives of Potomac was good. Also the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City had a great episode this week. He's still on Broadway. Combo with it.
Asante
Okay. I was just asking.
Dustin Ross
Yeah, yeah. Because I.
Asante
Go ahead, go ahead, go ahead.
Dustin Ross
Salt Lake.
Asante
Salt Lake.
Dustin Ross
Real Housewives of Salt Lake City was good this week. There's a touching moment between Angie K. Who with. Between Angie K. And Mary. Mary Cosby, where they just had a moment where they discussed some things that Mary was upset about. You know, her Cinnabon head ass is always upset about about something. She looked like a Cinnabon in this. She got that cinnamon roll face that.
Asante
Oh, my God.
Dustin Ross
Anyway, but Mary. Mary and Angie had a touching moment in their friendship that was cool to see. I like the heartwarming real. And they honestly hang out all the time off camera. They really are like, they're close in real life. And so it was good to see them have that moment on there Now. Love is Blind is a show on Netflix that's available to be watching.
Fran
Wait, wait, I had a question. Is Salt Lake. Was that the season where they had that girl that was like a blogger exposed her?
Dustin Ross
Yeah.
Fran
Is she still on?
Dustin Ross
No, she was a one season wonder. She was actually invited to be back on the show, but the cast said they weren't gonna do it with her.
Fran
Oh.
Dustin Ross
So I feel like.
Asante
Did you see the interview she did recently? There was like a clip of her somewhere recently and she was talking about that. She was like, I would love to go back, but it's never gonna happen. Ladies all said that they were going to quit or leave or something, which they could. Like. I forgot what she. She was talking about. I was like, monica's still on that.
Fran
Oh, damn. Yeah. Because I remember that being such a receipt. Right?
Dustin Ross
Screenshots, everything. Yeah. Hell yeah.
Asante
That was a moment for that franchise.
Dustin Ross
If you miss her. For those of you that miss Monica Garcia, because she say what you want, she was a great housewife. We just put it out there. But if you miss Monica Garcia, she actually recapped. Recaps this season, the episodes of Salt Lake City that air. She does a recap with Carlos king on his YouTube channel.
Fran
Oh.
Dustin Ross
She talks about the season with him.
Asante
So if you.
Dustin Ross
If you miss her, you can find her there. Heard you was looking for a. There she go.
Fran
I'm surprised. The Housewives, I understand them feeling unsafe, but at the same time, ratings, like, they just pissed.
Dustin Ross
It's. They're just pissed.
Fran
Well, I would have been trying to get this show to keep going. You know, you gotta just eat that.
Dustin Ross
And for what is worse, they have had great seasons post Monica's departure.
Fran
Oh, okay.
Dustin Ross
They having a good season now has.
Asante
Not gone down at all.
Dustin Ross
Real shit. But it still would have been either just as good or maybe even potentially better with her. You know what I Mean, so.
Fran
Right, right.
Dustin Ross
So that's.
Asante
I just have one thing. This is so random. This. This is just. It's really not worth the. Come on. That's why I feel bad I'm even throwing it out there, but.
Dustin Ross
Okay, well, then I.
Asante
Fran, because you don't know nothing about this. There's a housewife on there named Brittany, right?
Dustin Ross
Friend of.
Asante
Oh, friend of Britney is dating an Osmond. We don't care about him.
Dustin Ross
Subsidiary Osmond.
Asante
Yeah, but we don't care about him. But I feel like that's what he's trying to say. Like, hey, I'm an Osmo and you know, you need to get me on your show. And it's like, we don't care.
Dustin Ross
Care.
Asante
Even the. Even the ladies clowned him for that. They're like, oh, he's not even one of the important ones. Like, it's auxiliary Britney on this show most of the time. I'm not really with her. Some of her. This season has been entertaining. She is a weirdo on social media, and it's actually a little entertaining to me at times because I'm like, what is wrong with this white woman? Is it because she's a white woman and she's trying to do this, like, carefree thing and not give a. Because one day she will get arrested or slapped or like.
Dustin Ross
Like something is going baggage claim singing Pink Pony Club, Chappelle Room or what's the girl's name?
Fran
Chapel Room.
Dustin Ross
Yeah, Chappelle Room is Chappelle Room. Whatever her name is. She. But she was singing Pink Pink Pony Club.
Asante
Yeah. Britney is. She's not a significant player on the show itself, but she be doing little dumb like that on social media, and it, like, makes me look at her a little bit.
Dustin Ross
She's a. You know, she is. She's a pest.
Fran
She's.
Dustin Ross
She's a nuisance, but very entertaining. And she makes me laugh. So even though she irritates me. Oh, to. To the ends of the earth. On the show this season, she's. I enjoy her being there. Like, it's funny to laugh at her and you know what I'm saying?
Asante
I did feel bad. She did have a moment because her daughter. We. So it's. We've. I've always suspected her that she's a bad mom just based on what she said, but she did an episode with her daughter, and it's pretty much confirmed she's a bad mom. And I'm just like, damn, girl.
Fran
Yikes.
Dustin Ross
Well, she's. She is. Speaking of housewives, remember when Teresa lost It at the Jersey reunion in season two, and she was going off about Danielle to the audience. She's like, she is. She is. Remember after she had pushed Andy back to Britney. She is a nutcase, but she's interesting on the show. She is. She is. So that's that. There is also a show on Netflix called Love is Blind.
Asante
Keep introing it like that can be.
Dustin Ross
Watched because that's all I got to say about it. I told you, I skipped all them episodes in the middle when I fast forwarded. When I fast forwarded it to watch the messy episodes when they bring all the people back for, like, the events or whatever. And it really gets hot. Every single. It was tepid. It wasn't. It was not exciting. Then I felt like the girl was being mean to the guy. Edmund. I felt like his fiance was being mean.
Fran
Calibria. Calibria.
Dustin Ross
Yeah. It felt very. I felt like she was being condescending talking to him when they would be kind of talking through tough moments.
Asante
Yeah, she was.
Dustin Ross
Yeah. And I.
Fran
He's also, like, a lot. I almost feel like it's one of those things where if you don't say how you feel in the moment, it just piles up and then you just look crazy because you just look passive aggressive for every conversation after. And that's kind of what I felt was happening. Yeah, but Ahsante, you said you got emotional. I don't know if you wanted to describe it.
Dustin Ross
I cried.
Asante
I cried at the end. I cried with.
Fran
I'm gonna share it for you.
Asante
Hey, you know what? I cried for these niggas. And look, I'll die on this hill. I cry for those niggas.
Dustin Ross
Ain't nothing wrong with that.
Fran
I get it.
Asante
You know what? Because there were two black people. I watched these shows for the black people. So that's. And y' all know how I talk about. Even movies, entertainment, and TV in general. Like, I. I pretty much hate everything. It's. But I still love parts and can find a human. Human. The humanness. Right. Edmund was always his sweet, genuine self. Now he. He's not perfect. Definitely not at all. The mama, she knew that that was gonna be some. Which is why she ain't show up to the wedding, which I thought was kind of up, but.
Dustin Ross
I didn't watch it.
Asante
I know you ain't watch. The mama didn't show up to the wedding.
Dustin Ross
They were like, she's a she. I was about to say something disrespectful.
Asante
Did you know her mom episode? Right?
Dustin Ross
Why. Why would she not show Up. Obviously, he's a person who. Support is important to him. Based on what I know about him, he needs support. Why would she not show up for that?
Fran
I mean, from the sounds of it, she didn't show up for him in his childhood either. He was bouncing from house to house.
Dustin Ross
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Fran
So I think it's a pattern and of. Of the lack of support, which is. Probably has a lot to do with his Arrested development.
Asante
Yeah.
Dustin Ross
Just seemed to me, like, if he. If she was in communication at all with him, with that horrible record that she has, why would she not do that at all?
Fran
Like, she came on like, you should have just kept.
Dustin Ross
So I'm gonna say what I was gonna say. She is a piece of. For doing that. She's a piece of what an. You know how.
Asante
Deserve that. I was so emotional for him. I was like, damn, she not even here because Edmond, he. He's so sweet. Like, he was doing. There were things that he was doing that just wasn't. You said what?
Dustin Ross
I'm sorry. I was thinking out loud. I didn't even realize I said that out loud.
Fran
And then his teacher. His teacher that was there.
Asante
Yep. All right, Jesse, I'm. It's gonna be so weird calling you by your first name. Yeah.
Fran
And then he kept saying it, and.
Asante
Yep.
Fran
I have mixed emotions with him. I do feel that he was exploited. I don't think he should have been on the show. But it's tricky too, right? Because you don't want to say, like, because someone has arrested development, they shouldn't be on these shows. But to me, considering the topic and, like, the emotional development, you're supposed to have to be able to, like, communicate Kate. And go through the relationship and possibly find someone. He's just not there. And so it's unfair. In my mind, it's unfair to him, and then it's unfair to the other prospects. And I just. I don't know. I think it's weird. Of Netflix. I feel like, to me, that is. They put him on there purposely in hopes that people would laugh, you know, because he was different.
Dustin Ross
I've seen a lot of other people saying that too.
Asante
Yeah.
Fran
But at the same time, you know, it's one of those weird things because it's like he's his Arrested Development. Yes. But then that. While you. It gives you context into his behavior, at the same time, you don't want to, like, justify the crazy shit either. Like, him crying because she wouldn't have sex with him. Like, that's problematic. As fuck. Which is why this isn't a child at the end.
Asante
Which is why I cried for both of them when she said no. Because even though I feel like he's such a great guy, I know for her it was like, we at the end, so should I. Because I don't know how far or I don't know who's.
Dustin Ross
She ain't never like that, man.
Fran
Well, so she was fucking with his head. That's the only part I don't.
Asante
But even for that. But even outside of that, right, let's assume that she was playing him or any of those things, right? Sometimes people want to play a long game and be like, all right, well, it. We gonna go ahead and get married and we gonna be an influencer couple and blah, blah. The fact that she finally, in that moment was finally able to break it off and still, you know, affirm him and keep that going, like, you know what? Like, you're not wrong for, you know, feeling like, this is up. This is up.
Fran
Yeah.
Asante
You know, but, like, I gotta do what's best for me. Like, I just love the fact that they were able to come to that moment then, as opposed to coming back on the reunion, trying to argue and all that. Because, you know, the. I just don't need that.
Fran
Well, you don't know. It might still happen.
Asante
It still might happen, but for other reasons.
Fran
So. Right, because she. The fact that she. I feel like she never liked him once she saw him and he was, like, running funny.
Asante
Remember he got skipping and she was like.
Fran
I think she got the ick pretty early. His inability to really, like, communicate and. And share how he's feeling and get through conversations. Him getting inside the cup cupboard, him crying about not getting. Having sex with her. Like, it was so many things that was just like. This is not equally. Y. Listen to it, right? The way he, like, felt the way.
Dustin Ross
Getting in the cupboard.
Asante
No. Cause Dustin, he.
Fran
When he was like, I think I can fit. She was like, please don't do that.
Asante
He was so excited to just get up in there.
Fran
Please don't do that.
Asante
And in my mind, I'm thinking, like, it's one thing to, like, wonder that, but it's also like, are you really gonna get your ass up here?
Fran
His intrusive thoughts be whipping his ass. That's really what it is.
Dustin Ross
And so I think she ain't wanna give him none.
Fran
I think she knew, but at the same time, which I was telling y' all off the record. So why are you telling him? I can't wait for you to shoot the club up.
Dustin Ross
Yeah, she needs to answer for that.
Fran
You're gonna make a great fox father. When he was like looking for affirming like, yeah, we're gonna do this. She was like, we're absolutely gonna do this. Why do that? I didn't get that part. I understand some people on. I think TikTok was saying she was trying to not have the villain arc right too late and was kind of trying to play it like cool as far as she could into the show. And I maybe can see that you don't wanna be that person that's like being mean, saying all these fucked up shit, leaving him. But at the same time, was it worth to wait and get him to the altar? I almost rather she would have taken the Nick route, which, as much as we made fun of him, Nick was quick to tell Annie, I can't do this. I'm not marrying.
Asante
You know what?
Fran
We're not even getting.
Asante
You bring up such a great point, friend. I did not see that coming.
Fran
He got the hell out of dodge once he realized this this girl is nuts, which I didn't. She kept picking fights about nothing. She kept crying and telling just don't.
Asante
Feel like you love me as much.
Dustin Ross
As I love you.
Asante
Well, why are you saying that?
Dustin Ross
Because you don't.
Asante
Okay, but why do you feel that way? Because you don't like what?
Dustin Ross
I know she wish she had some silly string when she said that.
Fran
She was so. She's another one Arrested development. I don't know what happened to her, but she has gone through too much and she needs to work through that because the things that she was saying. No, and you know what? Trouble tripped me out. Remember when the women were sitting around and they were like, oh, yeah, they had all gotten into fights apparently, like the first night. And they were saying, well, it's kind of better to get it out the way early because you can see, like, is he. How does he act under pressure? Is he good? You know, during an argument? Like, does he get angry? Does he know how to communicate? You can kind of see, which is true. You can learn a lot about someone through your arguments with them.
Dustin Ross
You definitely can.
Fran
She hadn't had a. A fight yet, and she literally went back to the room and started a fight about nothing. And to me, that was so childish because it's almost like she was like, well, we didn't have a fight. You know what I mean?
Dustin Ross
I'm like, girl, shut your dumb ass up.
Fran
What type of time are you on? I was only watching up to Fight.
Asante
I was only watching for the. But I definitely did try to follow as much as possible with most of the other couples. I was not. Oh, I finally had saw the drug episode because I didn't know what the. That was on friend.
Fran
Him and Jordan, low key, allegedly, so we don't get in trouble. But something was up with them too. And it wasn't just liquor.
Dustin Ross
But do you think they was acting gay too? Y' all took them on that pool party or whatever.
Fran
Yeah, yeah.
Asante
But I wonder.
Fran
But also that's like white boy frat humor. They always talking about each other's dicks and you know, I don't know what.
Dustin Ross
It is, but do you think maybe he. The line. You know the line too. I know. When a serious. And I was like, I said, I.
Fran
Said, I said I know. Please, please.
Asante
Do you think. But do you think he consented or do you think he like gave him something? They ended up on it together.
Fran
Cuz I was like, no, I think it was they was trying to have a good time. Even what's her name? The one that was with Jordan. Megan. Sparkle. Megan Sparkle.
Asante
Fucking.
Fran
She was like, you're doing a lot. She had to tell him, you're doing a lot. You're lowkey. Embarrassing me.
Asante
I felt bad for him. But not Sparkle. Megan. At the end of that episode too.
Fran
Yeah.
Asante
What was up. But it's like she was just trying to, you know. Okay, so I had watched this episode like half before I had left for Atlanta and then half when I got back earlier. So I can stay up for this. Sorry. And we're gonna be. And right after this. I'm sorry, Dustin. I thought it was so funny that she literally was like, okay, well, I want to be with you because, you know, I thought we'd be able to do these things together. So then he's like, I told you that I have a child. I have to have a family. Why did this become like a different thing? For once she came out. But I also remember that I said halfway in through this episode, all of the girls are going to like not get married. Like they're all going to fix. Figure out a way. And it was right then, before I had watched the. The black couple because I'd watched the Brazilian chick.
Fran
No.
Asante
When she got to the altar and was like, I can't marry you. You're not the same person you were in the pods. I was like, oh, well, there's one. And then the happened with the. And I was like, oh, damn, another one. And then we get to them not Even at a wedding, them sitting in.
Fran
A hotel room, she was like, yes, ass. So.
Asante
We get some other moments from these other women, and then her ass. She's like, beating around the bush, and they finally go, yeah, I just can't do it.
Dustin Ross
Damn. You should have took your talents to FanDuel. You should have bet on that motherfucking show.
Asante
When I tell you the fact that it was, like, back to back to back, I was like, oh, my God.
Dustin Ross
I couldn't get popped.
Fran
What was it about this season, though, where they've already been doing anything interviews? Did you notice that, like, usually we don't hear from the cast until reunion and then after that. Yeah, you see them on every podcast, on YouTube and whatever, call me daddy and all the things. But. But they have been on the promo run up, leading. Like, not even leading, but throughout the whole season. And that was so confusing to me. I'm like, did they not sign the same paperwork? Did something change?
Asante
Probably had to keep the. The promo. Probably had to keep. To change, like, to keep viewership up. Like, maybe they were like, all right, y' all can do some sort of crush.
Fran
Go talk about it, maybe. Because this was weird. Like, he was on a podcast talking about what happened, then Madison was on the podcast talking about what happened. I'm just like, what?
Asante
This just reaffirms me into Dustin saying I should play FanDuel. Remember, friend, I told you in that first episode, the way that that trailer happened, it was just like, love is blind. But it was like, this is gonna be some mess. It wasn't like love is blind where you could find love. It was like a. It was almost like a Zeus trailerish. That's all. Like, what the.
Fran
Everyone yelling, crying.
Dustin Ross
Yeah, so.
Asante
And then nobody got married. Did. Was there one couple that was like, oh, okay. Nope. The Asian man had that white girl lying to her because. Lying to him because she didn't want to be seen as a racist. Never mind. There's not one couple that's going to be like, we're going to try after this. Because Calabria tried to say that, but then she was really like, no, we're really not going to be together. And that sucks.
Dustin Ross
They never were a match at all to me.
Fran
They weren't even in the pods. I was trying to understand what she was hearing.
Asante
She just kept looking down. She just kept.
Fran
Yeah. I was like, do you hear this, man? When she was like, what? So what do you. What's your support system? He was like, my rollerblading community. I would have been like, oh, tell Me more about.
Dustin Ross
I'm a skate now. The. And nothing against nobody that has a rollerblading committee or community.
Asante
Roller skating. The roller skater. He's a roller skater, not a blader. Okay.
Fran
And then his groomsmen were all his rollerblading friends.
Asante
And what skaters were skater boys, not blader boys. The roller skate down two by two. No, they did not.
Fran
What a moxie crew. You hear me? Listen, like, whoa.
Asante
Were they at Denver?
Fran
Yeah.
Asante
I just feel like he had different breed of black. And so I try to support all different types of.
Fran
For sure. With him being eccentric or quirky. Cuz I love people.
Asante
That's what I'm saying. Even with Calabri.
Fran
Also, the emotional aspects of him that were very stunted. That to me had nothing to do with his quirkiness. That's. That's just him. You know what he thinks that he needs to like, figure out.
Asante
Yeah. Even with Calabria. She's not really my type of girl. But why you say that? I don't know. There were just things. I was just like, all right, girl, well, if that's how you want to do it. Cause you really pissing me off right now. And then you want to be in a dude.
Fran
What she say? Stop talking to me, bitch. I said, you want a damn movie?
Asante
I'm like, girl, if you would have opened your mouth and just said, can you come over here, here, please, so we can talk to like, why? She was like, why are you doing that? You testing me? You know? You testing me?
Dustin Ross
That's what happens when you're sick of someone. You know what I'm saying?
Fran
You're trying to be nice.
Dustin Ross
Yeah.
Fran
She was trying so hard to be.
Asante
But it's like, girl, this is what you chose. And this is how you, like, some people can deal with him. Right? But if this is what triggers you and sets you off, girl, you did. You did this. So. And you know the cameras are here, so you're setting yourself off even more right now.
Fran
Hold on.
Dustin Ross
So that's what I feel like what.
Fran
You said at the wedding when they asked her friends, what do you guys think of Edmund? Her best friend was like, he's different. And see, he's different.
Asante
I feel like everybody knew. Or I feel like the women's families knew that they were gonna say no.
Fran
Like, the mom was really nice to him.
Asante
She was. Which is why I felt like she.
Fran
Couldn'T talk to him. I didn't. I was trying to read her.
Asante
She was so nice. I felt like she might know. I felt like she was like trying Be real sweet to him. Because she knew it was then, I don't know that.
Fran
Trying to like ease him up into the lead up of being destroyed on the altar. Because she was so nice to him. Yeah. And you were gonna say Anton's mom with the Brazilian girl. Anton's mom came in and was like, do you really love him? Or whatever. She asked. And she was like, I do. Why would you do that? But you know, saying these things.
Asante
But you know why I knew that the family knew though, the reason? Because her. Specifically. Because. Okay, so I knew that she was gonna say no in that moment. But when her sister came. Because you knew her sister wasn't with it. Her sister says she annoyed me. Her sister says, you might. I might not. Like what happens today? Or I might or something that she said. And I was like, no.
Fran
She was like, I don't approve of this. I looked at her like, and who the fuck are you? People are too weird with their siblings sometimes.
Asante
They really are.
Dustin Ross
The word approval, that's not how you do it.
Fran
I don't, you know, I don't approve. Or she said like before. I don't agree. She said something like that.
Asante
I don't even understand that, you know, so that's why it's like when she, when she was saying something to her, I was like, does the sister know? Like if the sister know? Because I was like, did she come out just to see. Because she know that. It's like, all right, well, since she not gonna actually marry him, I guess I'll come. It's a free trip.
Dustin Ross
Like, don't nobody give a. What you approve?
Fran
No, I don't approve of this. And you're saying this right before I walk. Walk out on the altar. Weirdo.
Asante
That's probably why she slapped my sister though. She was like, you know, she was like, I ain't even. She was like, I ain't even about to slap this in my wedding dress, cuz I am finna tell this motherfucker no. But I don't give a what you approve of.
Fran
Crazy.
Asante
Cause she literally just looking like.
Fran
And her face too, like that. She had that serious, lowkey, like angry face.
Asante
Like, you need to really take this in, bitch. And it's like, bitch, just get your mom.
Fran
How she stood in the back when they all walked in. She like stood in the back. I was like, this is weird. Energy. I didn't know who she was at first because I was like, is she a friend that don't know her or something?
Dustin Ross
What's your damn problem? You know what I'm saying. Sometimes you gotta say things like the.
Asante
Way she was standing there.
Fran
It was weird. But you know what? I love these shows because to me, it's such a study of people. People that don't know how to advocate for themselves. People who will stay in something. Yeah. People who will stay in something because they don't know how to get out of something. People who will rather be with someone they know it doesn't work just because they don't want to be alone. I mean, all the reasons that human beings do these things. Fascinating shit, man.
Dustin Ross
Yeah.
Asante
I mean, it just affirms that love ain't blind. That's like that part too. There are issues, but that not being able to see is not the problem.
Dustin Ross
If you don't believe me, just ask Kabbalah. Cause soon as she seen Edmund Kabala, you see she was like.
Fran
On that note.
Asante
That'S where you be love you guys. Stay black and protect your magic.
