Welcome to the Friends.
Francesca
Every time I'm in the zone.
Dustin
My name is Dustin.
Francesca
I'm Francesca, also known as. Hey, friend. Hey.
Asante
My name is Asante. This is the friend zone.
Francesca
She gonna be mad at me for telling the story, but I'm gonna tell you.
Dustin
Tell it, tell it, tell it. That's right. She gonna be mad at me for telling this story, but I'mma like Shannon Sharp said, I'm gonna tell it, tell it. Okay, so here we go. Now, I don't know if you all have been keeping up or not with the Kardashians, but I was thinking it. Yeah, Kim Kardashian. It's really about them too. Ain't that a bitch? Oh, God. Kim Kardashian, recently, you know, for the past six years she's been working towards getting a law degree, Right? She was working as an apprentice in a law firm and then she was going to be able to take the bar that way as opposed to the traditional track of law school. And, and that's not a norm, that's not an abnormal thing. That's a real thing that people.
Francesca
I didn't know you could do that.
Asante
I've heard of that before too.
Dustin
And so people have kind of lacked confidence in her commitment to her studies or even in her pursuit, really. They didn't know if it was just something for vanity, if she was really going to be working as a lawyer. You remember, for quite some time she was actively working with the current administration to release people from jail who, you know, have been falsely sentenced and, or now in prison. Falsely in prison. She, she had gotten several people part, a few people pardoned. She was working with that in criminal justice reform. She was really working in that space. So she just took the bar, right, and she failed. So, yeah. So she posted this following quote to her.
Asante
Well, no, because, you know, I said, wow. Well, you know, sometimes you hear people do stuff and then you hear like they did it and then like to hear that she felt like, I didn't expect that, especially a Kardashian to have admitted that, but, you know, I'm sorry, continue.
Dustin
And her daddy, you know what I'm saying? You think about who her father was. Robert Kardashian, iconic attorney. So it will make sense. Well, this is what she posted to her Instagram story. She said, well, I'm not a lawyer yet. I just play a very well dressed one on tv. Sidebar. I love that show. I don't care what nobody say. All's fair is good. Moving on. She said, six years into this law journey and I am still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up, just more studying and even more determination. Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way. So far. Falling short isn't failure, it's fuel. I was so close to passing the exam and that only motivates me even more. Let's go. That's what she posted to us. Story right now. Another clip has recently surfaced where this was her take on her failure of the bar exam.
Ad Voice
I'm just letting you guys know that.
Francesca
All of the psychics that we have.
Asante
Met with and that we're obsessed with.
Francesca
Are all full of shit. They all collectively, maybe four of them.
Ad Voice
Have told me I was going to pass the bar.
Francesca
So they're all full. Pathological liars. Don't believe anything they say.
Dustin
Well, and this is where I come into the conversation right now. If you are, everybody knows I ain't never heard nobody say they just went and took the bar and passed it. Everybody knows it requires, requires a relentless amount of discipline. You have to really be structured. You have to have a set schedule of study time. When you're literally cramming to pass the bar, you got to learn how to do that. Now, I don't really around with psychics and stuff. I respect the game, you know what I'm saying? Like, if that's what you do, cool. And you know, y' all know I have a tremendous amount of respect for people in their belief systems. Whatever they into, that's their thing, right? But I do know enough about psychics to know that ain't nobody doing no five minute reading. You know, you paying for at least a half hour to one hour, right? So she just said four of them failed her, right? So that's at least either two hours or four hours of her time that could have been better spent doing what?
Francesca
Study.
Dustin
Studying. You should have had your ass away from the crystal ball and carrying a Backpack. Yeah.
Francesca
That's what you should have been doing outcome yourself. But your mother, the California bar too, from what I've heard, is like insanely hard, isn't it? I've always heard that, yes. Like harder places.
Dustin
Yeah, because that's what you said would.
Francesca
Make it seem like I actually need to put in more times more work. This is the state where it's not.
Asante
As easy, where they're not gonna around. I can't cut no corners here.
Dustin
So while you sitting up and you know, she didn't just go see a psychic. Even if they came to the house, she said in glamorous. I'm willing to bet the farm on it. She said in Glam. That's three hours right there. Where was your book stand?
Asante
You ain't have a camera doing flashcards during glam. You're right.
Dustin
Where was them badass kids? Tablets. They probably didn't throw all them damn iPads and shit all over the house. Some kids, the youngest one is what, six now? Five, Something like that. So they probably got tablets strewn all across that mans that they living in. Why the fuck you ain't pick one of them up and got on Google, do your due diligence, Especially since your daddy was a goddamn lawyer, okay? On one of the most famous TR trials of all time and you didn't got these people. What was that woman? Alice. Her name was Alice. What was that lady name? She got out of jail. The black woman who went on to do hold a position in Donald Trump's no spice cabinet because you know he ain't got no seasoning.
Francesca
Wait, wait, wait. What?
Dustin
She knows the lady that she helped get pardoned. Her name is Alice something. I can't think of her last name maybe. Alice Johnson. She got a position in Donald Trump's cabinet. Yeah, the black lady. And she's over like the Board of Pardons or something like that. Yeah.
Francesca
Oh, my God, that's crazy.
Dustin
No, I called it a no spice cabinet. Cause we all know he's bland, so there's that. But yes, that's what happened. But if you're gonna be doing all that, see, I ain't crazy.
Asante
If you gonna be doing all that pardon sar.
Francesca
I never heard of. Oh my goodness.
Dustin
You gonna have your. And she's out. She's only able to hold that position because Kim Kardashian advocated on her being pardoned. She championed for her and led the charge with that. Which is a great thing to do, right? That's a great thing to do when people are deserving of the pardon. But the allegiance that that woman has now, you know, to Donald Trump because he was the president when she got pardoned, I think is silly. Yep. That they're her ass. Go right there. Alice McGree Johnson. Yup. Trump's borders are.
Francesca
That's crazy.
Dustin
Yeah.
Asante
See, I remember the whole, like, blip of Kim Kardashian doing that legal stuff and then didn't really. You know, I don't really follow the Kardashians. Like, I just know that they're always everywhere, and I'm always clicking past them. Right. So fast forward to now. She's on this TV show as a lawyer. So I was like, okay, did she already, like, I'm. I wasn't sure if she had already become a lawyer, but I was like, it's funny that she was doing lawyer things and now she's on this lawyer show. And so to hear that, damn, she failed the bar. It would have been kind of cool. It would have been cool if this could have been like, a rollout. Like, oh, I did a TV show as a lawyer, and I am one. But, like, I like how she parlayed that into I just play a badass1 on TV or whatever she said. So that's cool.
Dustin
I think the best rollout. Yes. I thoroughly enjoyed that show.
Francesca
You're the only person I've heard say that it's good.
Dustin
I like Ryan Murphy's shows anyway. Low key and so campy, and it just. It's enjoyable and fun to watch. And the show is actually shot beautifully. They're dressed very, very nice, so well.
Asante
Yeah.
Dustin
Niecy Nash is in it. I love anything Niecy. I'm gonna watch anything Niecy Nash is in flat out. Tiana Taylor is in it. I love her.
Francesca
What a cast.
Dustin
I love Sarah Paulson. You know what I'm saying? I want to. I want to smoke weed with her and talk so bad. I think, honestly, I think me and Sarah Paulson would be great friends. I do. Because she seems funny, and I want to really get in her business about that lady that she's with, the older woman. I want to ask her why. I think that we would have a. You know. I do.
Asante
With respect.
Dustin
I just want to know, like, girl, why you like that lady? Like what? Why you like her?
Asante
She.
Dustin
What is it? You know, is she hung? I want to ask her, you know what I'm saying?
Asante
Like, what is.
Dustin
What is. You know what I'm saying, why you like her? I want to ask her. So anyway, did you see.
Asante
Yes.
Francesca
Did you see that Halle Berry was supposed to be in it, but she.
Dustin
Did, and people are now that it's gotten all these horrible critic reviews from critics that saying that she knew it was going to be bad.
Asante
She would have looked great on there. I will say I've watched two, maybe three episodes because, what is it, four episodes out?
Dustin
I have. Yeah, three. Three episodes out.
Asante
I think the fourth one just came out, probably, but I haven't watched it.
Dustin
Yeah.
Asante
Cause. Oh, yeah, it is three. It is like the fourth episode. I just haven't watched it. I watched the first three. Jessica Simpson was on there. She did a really, really good job. I will say. Jessica Simpson, like, she.
Dustin
She got down. Did she?
Asante
She got down. I will. I was like, jessica Simpson. And she was doing her thing, like.
Dustin
And she was wearing a prosthetic when she was on there.
Asante
She had prosthetics.
Dustin
It's a long story. To the point.
Asante
Yeah, you gotta. If you watch any of it, I will say, like, that I did enjoy. I enjoy Sarah Paulson on there. And Niecy Nash is always someone you want to watch. So it's like, there are things that keep me there, but it's not.
Dustin
Tell you the problem with the show. The problem with the show is that Kim Kardashian is not the greatest actor. I don't think she does, like, a, you know, awful job, but she's not good. And so moments where the line should be delivered with a little boy, and not only is she not the best performer, she's surrounded by goats.
Asante
Glenn, like, Naomi Watson's over here doing her shit, and then Niecy Nash know how to play with any and everybody, like, you know what I'm saying? And then you got Glenn toast coming up in this bitch. And then Sarah Paulson's always going to do some shit with Ryan Murphy. And then Kim Kardashian, it's like, so.
Dustin
You can see the difference between the performance and the skill levels, and that can throw the viewers off a little bit. Plus, a lot of people hate Kim Kardashian anyway, so that coupled with a not so great performance, right? There's the conversation.
Asante
And I'm a Kim Kardashian, not hater. It's Kim Kardashian disassociator, right? But when I see her, it's like, I do try to give her chances, like, and she does have moments, but, like, they're very few and far in between. Like, it's really hard. Like, in a flashback moment, I felt like she. She was doing a really good job, but I was like, this is a flashback. It's going to be over. And it was. And it was like, damn. Like, there are little moments with her, but she just. I feel like if Kim Kardashian did some, like, serious, serious, I don't know what it would look like, but serious acting work. She got with that right coach or whoever and was like, you know what? I'm gonna really do this. She could do some shit.
Dustin
She could.
Asante
But right now, seeing what I'm saying, Schedule, she has to clear that schedule. She has to ask the cameras to leave. She got to tell her mama, like, you know, take me off the books for six months. I don't know. Like, she has to do, like, a real intensive. And if she came out with some, it'd be like, damn, she coming for that. It's like she's trying to be on her Charlize Theron right now. Like, you know.
Dustin
Like, this series, this being a television series means that she acted a lot. It's a lot more work than just shooting a movie. And, you know, practice makes perfect or at least a little bit better. And so, like, I'm sure it'll get renewed for a second season because even though the critics panned it, the viewership is high. I think it was the highest debut for a scripted show on Hulu. Of all time.
Asante
Yep.
Francesca
Yeah, of all time. I mean, but also, when you consider the actors.
Asante
Yeah, you got the cast. It's a Ryan Murphy production. And then it looks really good too. So you're watching. It's pleasing to the eye. It's like, it's an easy watch. It's not like, hard, like, it's not gross or anything like that. It's just really crazy. But when I watch it, it's.
Dustin
I, I.
Asante
Somebody put this into perspective for me. It feels like I'm watching Single Ladies. I don't know if you remember that show on VH1, but Single Ladies was a show on VH1. It had like, a really, like, dreamy filter to it, but it was supposed to be like a, a, almost a soap opera, ish type, like, romantic style. And I feel like this show because it's so, like, woman power. It's like women this, and we're like women wearing beautiful power suits. And then we're also, you know, helping each other. And, oh, she's got this big bang jewelry. It's like, I don't know, some of it is very, like, luxury, but it's still campy. So it's kind of hard to play those different worlds for me.
Dustin
Don't that sound good, friend?
Asante
Are you asking Fran? Yes.
Francesca
Oh, you asking me?
Dustin
Oh, yes, it sounds good. Don't sound come on the board.
Asante
Strong.
Francesca
To be honest, I'm not. I'm not too familiar with Ryan Murphy's work because all I really watched was.
Asante
You ain't watching American Horror Stories?
Francesca
No. Well, I did. I watched the first couple seasons, but then obviously it started losing me a little.
Asante
He's like, all right, too much.
Dustin
Yeah.
Francesca
And then I watched. Didn't he do Versace?
Asante
Yeah, I think. Yep.
Francesca
Yep, I watched that and that was good. And so it's in the. You know, it's like.
Dustin
I enjoy that. I enjoy his style. I enjoy his work. And.
Francesca
Oh, and the Menendez brothers.
Dustin
Absolutely.
Francesca
I did see that too, which was.
Dustin
And the new normal. I watched that on NBC with Nene when Nene was on there. It was one season on NBC about the gay dads. There was a gay couple and Nene worked with them. It was so good. And you know what? If it's on Peacock, you need to watch it because you would actually crack up. Have you ever seen that video clip of Nini reciting that Nicki Minaj verse at that wedding? And she be like, I love Nicki Minaj when she walks in. That's from the show. It was so funny. And Nene actually was incredibly good on this.
Asante
She was perfectly placed.
Dustin
She was so fucking good on the.
Francesca
New, like, that type of comedy.
Dustin
Oh, my God. Like, so good.
Francesca
Yeah.
Dustin
But I say all that to say I enjoyed all sphere and I think everybody need to give it a chance. It's good.
Asante
It made me think to myself, this is so random. But I was like, I would love to see Ryan Murphy and like, Shonda do something together.
Francesca
Oh, interesting.
Asante
Like, I don't know how that would work, if that would work, but them doing something together, even if it'd just be like a crossover or some shit just to test the waters or something. Like, I'd be like. To see.
Dustin
Can't you see both of them standing next to each other looking at the monitors with them eyes on the set while they shooting? I could see it. I would watch it. I love Shonda Rhimes stuff too. Scandal. Them first three seasons was untouchable.
Francesca
I did like Scandal. I don't think I got that far, but I did enjoy what I watched.
Asante
You know what I didn't watch? Oh, go ahead.
Dustin
What you. Let's. Let's rock, paper, scissors.
Asante
No, no, just go ahead. I. I don't think you watched what I was gonna ask you. But I was just curious if you.
Dustin
Did how to get away with murder. I never got into it. And everybody. It's like a Walmart.
Francesca
You tried it and it didn't hit or just.
Dustin
No, I never got into it.
Asante
I never tried to get into it and fell off.
Dustin
But everybody.
Francesca
I know that you would like it. When I think of you, I don't know that you would like it.
Dustin
I like.
Francesca
You would be like, yeah, but this was different. I don't. Or maybe that's how I perceived it. So let me not say that. But for me, it was different. But you know me, right? It was like a silliness to it.
Asante
Yeah. Because even though. Because it wasn't really. I mean, I guess you could call it illegal drama. Right. When you say that. But when I think of it, I'm like, they spend so much time just doing dumb shit. Like, that's why I fell off. I was like, all right, well, we gonna keep playing where's the body? Or what body is this? All right, we know about it. Who did it? Like, all right, level. Who done it? But.
Dustin
After watching the Grosse Pointe Garden Society.
Francesca
Oh.
Dustin
I like Asia. Naomi King. I like her. And so that makes me want to go back.
Francesca
I like her a lot. She's so pretty, too.
Asante
She was one of the reasons I stuck around so long. And she's actually one only reasons I would go back. So if you can go back and watch that and I'll watch with you just for her. Because my.
Francesca
You're right, because she stood out a lot on the show. A lot, a lot.
Asante
For the most amazing. Not just for looking good. The way she was delivering them lines and the musicians.
Francesca
No, yeah. I don't mean it like just her.
Asante
No, no, I know you don't. But I'm just saying, like, just in totality, just how she was. It was like that. She, like. If you think of the cast of how to Get Away with Murder, she's one of the main people I think of. Like, I mean, obviously we know the leads, but it's just like that class. Cause I remember it was like they were in college, legal school or whatever. So I think students kind of changed a little bit. I'm not sure because I didn't stick around, but I was gonna ask Dustin randomly, did you watch on Netflix a show called Inventing Anna?
Dustin
No, I knew about the show and I knew about the real story. Yeah, I knew about the real story behind the show. And so I was.
Asante
Yeah.
Dustin
And then a show about having dinner parties too.
Asante
Yeah, she.
Dustin
Yeah, yeah. Not gonna do it.
Francesca
What do you mean? A show about having dinner.
Asante
So she is out.
Dustin
Literally that.
Asante
And she's on house arrest and. Or I don't. I think she's off house arrest, but I think she was on house arrest, and I think she was doing these dinner parties while she was on house arrest. Maybe those two things were separate, but it was like a whole thing of her being out on house arrest. Then I see this pop up with dinner parties. I was like, all right, girl. Well, I'm out of here. Yep.
Francesca
What?
Dustin
And so that made me not so excited to watch it.
Francesca
Ankle monitor.
Asante
I don't know.
Dustin
I didn't see her bony ass. I don't know if she had an ankle bracelet on. That's from Dreamgirls. Remember when Effie was like, it's all her bony ass. When she was talking about Gina when they were singing Heavy. That's where I got that from. Yeah.
Francesca
That's crazy. I did not hear about that. That didn't hit my radar. I'm trying to think what I've watched. I was good.
Asante
Do you want to know what's good?
Francesca
Please, Because I need new stuff.
Asante
Okay. On Peacock. Listen, hold on, because I have to roll my sleeves back.
Francesca
Dan, he wrote this.
Asante
I have watched all. Look, I started. You know when you start something and you just kind of like, let me put this on. And you're trying to get yourself together. I was literally like, let me get some knee. I'mma, you know, sit down in the first five minutes. I had to sit down in the first, like, two, three minutes because I was like, what are we doing here? What's happening right now?
Dustin
Of what?
Asante
On Peacock. There's a show called All Her Fault.
Dustin
I keep hearing about this.
Francesca
I just ahsante, you ain't lying.
Asante
And I ended up the entire thing.
Francesca
So I only watched maybe from the first episode. I probably watched, like, I'd say 75% of it. I don't remember why I didn't finish it, but I think I had somewhere to be. But I was like, you know when you're like, five last minute and then end up where you at late as. That show is so good, and I don't even know what's happening yet. First episode, even just the first minute. The first minute.
Asante
I was tied the entire time.
Francesca
When you press play and the first minute of a show is that captivating. You're like, damn. And then it's the daughter from Secession. Secession. Who's.
Asante
That's. That's. That was the draw.
Dustin
I never watched that Either.
Asante
I remember walking by and be like, oh, Shiv. And I kept walking. And then. And then I was like, hold up.
Francesca
Because she's fire. She's so fire.
Dustin
I keep hearing good about 10 out of 10.
Asante
I super recommend how you get in it. Who, me? Yeah, I finished it.
Francesca
Oh, friend.
Asante
Every.
Francesca
So it's worth it. Okay, good.
Asante
Episode eight, I could not.
Francesca
Oh, you. And you said it. Shout out to Jay Ellis. It made me happy to see him.
Asante
I was like, okay, look at Lawrence.
Francesca
Lawrence from.
Asante
He did his thing. He did his thing.
Dustin
So he's in there. He did his thing.
Asante
He is everybody. Did they shout out to his team.
Francesca
What is he in it? Because I didn't get to the part where they explained why he was in their house.
Asante
So he's Shiv's business partner.
Francesca
Oh, okay. Okay.
Asante
And then he ends up as something else to somebody else too. And then he. And then he start going off for everybody. I was like, you know what, jl, let's get yours. Do your thing.
Francesca
I'm so happy for him.
Asante
I'm good.
Dustin
Trying to look it up. Look up the damn show now. I want to know about it too.
Francesca
Hell, it's good.
Asante
It was too good. Yeah, it's so good. I legit watched the first episode.
Francesca
You should do it for the binge. Once Dustin finishes with. What are we watching? Unlocked.
Dustin
Unlocked.
Asante
Family secrets.
Dustin
Mess. A bunch of mess.
Francesca
Yeah, we should do that next. I don't know. Next show, but to me, that would be riveting.
Asante
And it was. It was funny because Dakota Fanning, she was just on Watch what happens live. I didn't watch it. I remember, like, watching whatever I was watching.
Francesca
That's Dakota Fanning, huh? The mom. The other one. Wow.
Asante
Damn.
Dustin
She playing Mamas now and stuff? Yes, yes.
Asante
Yep, she was legit. Just on Watch Rappers Live just recently.
Dustin
She's no longer a white girl. She's a white woman.
Francesca
Wow.
Asante
Okay. Baby laid eggs, honey. Yes.
Francesca
Yeah, the girl.
Asante
Okay. Okay.
Francesca
Oh, and. And without you giving spoilers, I noticed in one scene there was a close up of something on her shoulder. Does that mean anything?
Asante
Oh, that comes together.
Francesca
Was that song or was I just reading into Friend? Because I was like, why are they showing shoulder?
Asante
That don't come together to episode eight.
Francesca
Okay. I'm so excited.
Asante
That's how good this shit was. Because when it happened, I remember thinking that. So I was like, what the fuck is this? But then everything ties you in. I got lost in the sauce. And then when they brought it back up, I was like, oh, hell no.
Francesca
I'm so excited.
Asante
The show's called All Her Fault. So I'm trying to pick up on all these different themes going on in the show. But I had no idea where we was going. That's how good it is. Like, I cannot spoil it. I will. I refuse to spoil it. Everyone I've told about. I'm like, watch this shit. Just.
Dustin
I can't wait to watch.
Francesca
I don't watch this week because I really. Yeah, I really enjoyed it. And I'm. You know, when you save it to my stuff on your. On the channel, I was like, saved it so hard.
Asante
I didn't even have time to save it to my stuff. I. I didn't even. It didn't even get saved. I was like, damn, that is so good.
Francesca
And Reasonable Doubt, I've really been enjoying On. Where is that?
Dustin
On Hulu. Hulu, absolutely.
Francesca
Really? Really. They're doing a good job with that show.
Dustin
Who you think did it right? Either the sister or the mom.
Francesca
They should have me. Well, now, at this point, I mean, I don't want to spoil it, but I feel like. We know, but maybe we don't. There might be a twist. I thought it was her the whole time.
Asante
I ain't trusted her since.
Dustin
What? Didn't she used to be on Bel Air? She was either on Bel Air or the Fresh Prince. But I only watched the couple. Okay. And friend. And not only that. That was so funny. When Jax. When the mama. When Jax was telling the mom about the sex tape, and the mama came to the office, she was like. She was like.
Asante
She was trying to front.
Dustin
And the mama was like, oh, my poor. Because Asante. The lawyer was telling the mother of the client that there was a sex tape involving him or whatever that it was that existed. And the mother was trying to front, like she didn't know about it. So she gonna say, oh, my. I'm just having my poor baby. And Jack's. The lawyer gonna say, girl, please, you gave him that tape. And the mama goes.
Francesca
And then she gonna go, just tell me what you want me to say. She cut that shit quick.
Dustin
That Fran. That shit had me dying.
Francesca
It's a good show. And it's crazy. Cause when I first started watching it, when the first season dropped. When was that? Like, the year before last or whenever it was, I was legit. Like, oh, this is probably gonna be some push. And then. It has not been.
Dustin
It has not been produced by Kerry Washington. And you know why? I enjoyed this season more than anything. You already know why. Who played Wendy's Assistant. Wendy is the dead lady who was her assistant? Think about it. You remember her assistant, the one who called the police in the first place or reported her missing and she was like, yes.
Francesca
Oh, oh, it's because you said assistant. I thought that was like her best friend or something. I don't remember her being. Oh, and. And isn't that. Isn't his agent the lady from P. Valley?
Dustin
Yes. Yep. Brandi. What's her name? Brandy something.
Asante
Brandi.
Dustin
She wanna be down.
Francesca
When I saw her, I was like, oh, they made some good cameos. But the cool thing is everyone did a good job. Cause Cash Doll did a great job.
Dustin
Yeah, Cash out threw down in her little recurring role. Go ahead. Cashed Out. And, you know, we gotta big up. My girl Hulu had her all up. And through all the promotional materials, there is a video of. Of her and Jax comparing lines from Jax from. From the scripts before. Before with lines from Cash down from her songs. And they're laughing. They have the best chemistry. As a matter of fact. I'm gonna send it to the group message so we can put it in the carousel.
Francesca
I saw that they were on. They were. The cast was at CultureCon too. I did peep that with that creator that I love, Scott. Louie.
Dustin
Shout out to him. That's my boy. Yeah, shout out to him.
Francesca
He's so fun to watch.
Dustin
What's up, Scott?
Francesca
He was. I think he was interviewing them and I was like, oh, they look so great. Such a beautiful cast.
Dustin
But yeah, he had that on at Culture Con to both day. Scott had that shit on. I seen.
Francesca
But I mean, that's what he does.
Dustin
Like, you know, that's my buddy, man.
Francesca
He's so great. But I. Yeah, I'm really enjoying that show. But I was. I was trying to find things to watch because I just been like. I just feel like nothing is sticking.
Asante
Like Baddies getting darker.
Francesca
Early Netflix. Oh, God, it's. I'm so challenged by that.
Dustin
Watch Baddies.
Francesca
No.
Asante
Did you watch Selling Sunset?
Francesca
I watched maybe like half of the first episode. That's what I mean. Like, I never get to, like, finish or go because it's just. I don't go back or I forget. And it's all her fault. Was probably the first time that I was pressed to get back to an episode.
Asante
Yeah.
Dustin
Either of you watching Married at First Sight?
Francesca
That's another one. I love Married at First Sight. You do, and I do. Even though I think the episodes are too long. Don't you feel that way? They're like an hour and a Half. I'm like, whoa, you gotta give stuff.
Asante
A little bit of a break.
Dustin
Some of that they could cut. It'd be a lot of filler scenes. I don't need to see y' all playing horseshoes, you know what I'm saying? On a date. Y' all could cut that shit.
Francesca
I did watch the first episode. I feel like I did get through the first episode because I was curious to see, like, what city they were in and who were the new cast members. And I'll tell you this, the cast is. It's not gonna make me want to come back. I do not.
Dustin
There's not a lot of star quality this season.
Francesca
Yeah. And I like the black couple, though. Cause I'm curious when they're showing the promo for the rest of the season. They seem to, like, not. Not be working. And I'm like, what happened? Because they were so cute in the beginning. You don't think so?
Dustin
I don't think so. She don't like him. He trying to be patient with her.
Francesca
But in the first episode, you felt she didn't like him.
Asante
Mm.
Dustin
I know people, and I know relationships, and I know what fuck. And I know all of that. And so I watching them, I was like, she don't like him. And as time has gone on, what.
Francesca
Made you feel that way? Because the only thing I caught was. Well, she was saying certain things that I didn't. It didn't make me feel she didn't like him, but it made me feel that she was, like, already kind of taking notes, you know what I mean? Because he was saying stuff. I can't remember what it was, but.
Dustin
She was like, oh, he's a nice guy, you know? And he's shown himself to be really patient with her, and there's just a disconnect.
Asante
You just.
Francesca
What about when he was talking to her dad, Asante? Her dad was like, so, do you go to church? Do you believe? Like, do you go to church? Your family go to church? He was like, I'm agnostic. And the dad was like, say what? And he was like, yeah. He was like, I'm not gonna say there isn't anything out there, but I just don't know exactly what is. And then he started going through all the historical, like.
Dustin
Like, really trying to persuade.
Francesca
I tell you, he went into historical references of Catholicism and what it'. I was like, holy.
Dustin
He's talking about the warst possible thing. Like, you ever seen somebody just do the worst, make the worst choices you can make, right? Because even if that's the truth, which. But even if you know what I'm saying, this ain't the time.
Francesca
No, I thought it was so funny. I'm sorry. Cause you could tell me, I would.
Dustin
Have been more to study this shit.
Francesca
And was, like, happy to answer truthfully. And the dad was like, motherfucker, I just want to know if you go to church or not. I ain't asking.
Dustin
And you could also tell that he knew that was filming a TV show. And he was like, I'm out to represent for the agnostics. I thought he. I thought he might as well have a letterman jacket with an A on it. You know what I'm saying?
Asante
He was on that Amanda. What was that show Amanda Seals did where they had to buzz each other.
Francesca
They, like, debate each other? No, but the best part, Asante. The dad was like. He goes on this whole rant about wars and, like, you know, all this stuff. And then the dad goes, well, do you play spades? He didn't know.
Asante
He a good dad, you know, he wasn't trying to be combative. He just wanted to.
Francesca
And then. And then he's gonna say, I played chess. I was like, oh, yeah, this is gone. This is gone downhill.
Dustin
Well, it's a bunch of old people on this season, too, which is weird to me.
Francesca
No, I like that. The lady that's like your ain't been watching.
Dustin
Did you see the lady? You gotta see? So it's a centric lady.
Francesca
Nice. It's inclusive.
Dustin
Like, I want watching baby to me. They need that. They need a golden version, you know.
Francesca
Like later daters married at.
Dustin
Married at losing sight.
Asante
You know what I'm saying? Like, they need.
Dustin
They need a version of our older people so that they can. What's that song say? You gotta keep separated. You gotta keep them separated for real. Like, because the overlap. It's a mother and daughter on here this season.
Francesca
Wait, what?
Dustin
This girl's girl is marrying somebody, and her mother is marrying somebody.
Francesca

Francesca
Spicy. This is like the circle. And they just started doing shit. I was like, stop watching.
Dustin
And the only reason I Mama like.
Asante
What is going on? She don't love is blind. It's like, y' all doing too much now. Vanessa.
Francesca
They had 60 year olds. I'm sorry. I thought it was so cool when she was like, she. He was married for what, 30 years or some crazy. And he was excited to, like, start his new life because apparently the wife. It was a sexual issue. He said that was what made them grow apart. They were seeing. He didn't specify, but he was basically like, there were things I was wanting her to do. And she was like, no, I don't.
Dustin
Know what that was, but that mean he. His boners are hard at this point. And second of all, mind you, she's not there. And so I misheard him. I thought he was saying it was a sexual issue. That's why she had. I thought he was saying she passed away when they was having sex, but he would say that's why they got a divorce.
Asante
I thought he was.
Dustin
I was like, you know what I'm saying? Like, I thought he mean he had.
Francesca
Literally, you know, no, he. And so he is on his second win. You hear me? And. And then he got that spicy white lady with the red dress. I was like, oh, they about to have a ball. A ball.
Dustin
Keep watching, keep watching. Now here's the thing, though. But, yeah, so the show is good. Don't know what you got to. Blue ball. Yeah, I. I like that show because the lady, the. The psychologist or the expert, whatever that lady's name is, her name is which one?
Francesca
Dr. Pepper.
Dustin
That's literally what hooked me in. When her name card came on, I was like. The first time I watched the episode, I was like, she really Dr. Pepper. And that's. I was hooked ever since then.
Francesca
And she's so cute.
Asante
Yeah.
Dustin
And she'd be tearing their ass up last season when the Was lying and. And they got caught around. Remember the two couples. What was their name? David and Madison. They. They were both in other couples, but they were around on the low and it came out the one white. The one wife figured it out. Yes. Last season. And Dr. Pepper and them was going off on their ass when they were.
Francesca
Oh, you know what? Because I didn't. Hold on.
Dustin
He looked like Fred Flint.
Francesca
Where the black dude left the black waits.
Dustin
And she showed up. She showed up to the last party with a new man.
Asante
Engaged. Yeah.
Dustin
While going through a divorce from. From Ikechi. Yes. MM had a new MM's. Got a man.
Francesca
You making me want to finish that season because I didn't get. I didn't finish.
Asante
Yeah.
Francesca
I got to the part where that white girl was dating that. That boy with the curly hair.
Asante
That's it.
Dustin
Yeah, that's the one.
Asante
That was cheating.
Dustin
He was.
Francesca
He sent her that text by accident, remember? Yes, Dante. He accidentally text her saying, like, I.
Dustin
Can'T wait to cheat you up.
Francesca
And then when she said, who was this for? He was like, oh, my cousin has sent me something she cooked. And I was like, ooh, can't wait to eat you up. Like I said, that's a lie that you came up with.
Dustin
And mind you, the white girl can't wait to eat you up was one of them.
Asante
No, she.
Dustin
It just wasn't gonna fly past her. I'll put it to you like that. She was one of them white girls, you know, and so she literally only for her to call the cousin. The cousin was like, that did not. She was like, no. And had I known he was lying, I would have been told you y' all like. Like, no, that is not what.
Francesca
That was embarrassing. He should have just. You're on TV too, brother. Like, just say what it is. Now you look extra crazy because you.
Dustin
Really don't owe her nothing. You just met her.
Francesca
And not only that, she didn't like him.
Asante
Yeah.
Dustin
And made it clear.
Francesca
Yeah. She wasn't attracted to him. She was broke by the fact that.
Dustin
He lives in his parents basement by choice.
Francesca
She didn't like his style. She didn't like anything. She was. He was constantly trying, trying, trying, trying. And so I would have been like, hey, honestly, I thought there was nothing here. You've made it clear. And I kind of just went back.
Dustin
To my old books. Yeah. You know, but he was Cheating with the girl from one of the other couples. That's what made it so crazy.
Francesca
Which was the girl?
Dustin
Her name was Madison and she was dating. I can't think of the guy's name, but he was a tall, vanilla white guy.
Francesca
I mean that's.
Dustin
I can't think his name. Was it Chris? I can't think of his name. But he got drunk when it all came out and they all went to like this house for a retreat.
Francesca
Which one was Madison?
Dustin
Yep.
Francesca
She had like work out.
Dustin
Yes, yes, yes, yes. Friend. You peeping?
Francesca
I am. Oh.
Dustin
And that's how. That's how she found out because she was like, my name starts with an M. She or whatever. She was like, who would he be sending this to? And she thought about medicine and she just had a gut feeling.
Francesca
So that's who he was sending that text to.
Dustin
Yes. And then they lied to Dr. Pepper and them talking about they ain't have sex or whatever yet. And Dr. Pepper was like, that suggests that it is available and ready to be had. She was like, you mean it's. Tell me you all have not physically been intimate. You haven't crossed that line. That's hard to believe that she was going off. What's the black doctor, the black lady.
Francesca
Miss all of this? Oh yeah, you know, the light skinned black.
Dustin
She's tearing ass up.
Asante
The.
Dustin
The black guy, he was tearing them up. I like, they need interesting names like Dr. Pepper because I remember them.
Francesca
Pastor Cal.
Dustin
Yeah.
Francesca
Pastor Cow.
Dustin
Yeah. Pastor Kyle. Pastor Mike. That's fcbc, yo.
Francesca
I'm so blown that I didn't finish the. That means the end of the season was the best part.
Dustin
Hell yeah, friend. For real.
Francesca
I missed our host.
Asante
Never before.
Francesca
It's too. Do you watch Asante at all? You don't watch the franchise at all. Your face.
Asante
It's just not for me.
Francesca
I get it. It's very long.
Asante
I've watched it and it was cool, but didn't pull me in.
Francesca
I love all those shoes.
Dustin
With 90 Day Fiance. I get 90 Day Fiance.
Asante
Like 90 Day I fucked with.
Francesca
No, 90 Day Fiance is so good. I haven't watched it in a few years because it started confusing me. Like the amount of spin offs. I didn't know what I was watching.
Dustin
Anymore after the 90 days.
Francesca
After the night, during the 90 days and 90 days international, it was like, okay, we're already international. What do you mean? So I just was like. And then they would have people from one cast in the other one. So then you're trying to follow their storyline, but now they're in the other show. It's the same with Love. After Lockup, I'm like, where is the person that I've been trying to follow? And so they lose me with that. But married at first. That I enjoy, because I think it's insane.
Dustin
Me, too. Why the fuck would anybody do that?
Francesca
Oh, my God. It's insane.
Dustin
At least you can talk to the motherfucker on Love is Blind, you know what I'm saying? At least you know their name, their voice.
Francesca
Yeah, you get a sense of. But this is like you're walking up.
Dustin
To the altar and, you know, it'd be so funny. I'm married at first sight. When they get married, they always do like this. When they come out, the brides, they always be like. They always peek around to see who the fuck they finna marry. Every goddamn time.
Francesca
And they always stand in front of each other and go, hi.
Dustin
And then the dumbest part, when I be wanting to throw something at my television is when they write the vows that they gonna say at the wedding.
Francesca
Someone that you know nothing about.
Dustin
I promise. I promise to make you laugh, always show up as myself and fight with you every day.
Francesca
Shut up.
Dustin
Each problem, we will come together and grow. And I will be the best me that I could be for you, because you are my love. You are my future. You'd be like, what the. Who are you talking to?
Asante
Well. Cause what can.
Dustin
They don't know.
Asante
Legit. Don't know what you say.
Dustin
So here's what my vows would say. I know you don't know me.
Asante
I know I don't know you.
Dustin
That's it. But we finna try to make something out of nothing. Deal. The deal, Dustin. That's what my finger say.
Francesca
And they always. When they're talking about the person, what's the name? The officiator. What's the proper term? The one that's marrying them.
Dustin
Yeah. The officiant. Yeah.
Francesca
Is that what it's called? Okay. So when they're doing that sort of intro and they're like, zach has two dogs. He has a really spicy personality.
Dustin
You know, it's always.
Francesca
And he loves tacos. And you're just like, thank you for the details.
Dustin
I'm a coffee queen. You'd be like, what the fuck?
Francesca
She does Pilates three times a week. You're like, whoa.
Asante
And loves Cheetos.
Dustin
Oh, my God.
Francesca
Loves cheat and loves girl dinners.
Dustin
One of the couples, I think it was. I think you got my stomach hurting. One of the couples, I think it was this season, the Girl is like a spin instructor. And so he went to. And mind you, her is rich, though. The. The guy. The white guy that she's married to that diamond, like, so I see why she's excited.
Francesca
I was like, oh, yeah, that works.
Dustin
But she got him. She had him come see her spin. And it was just so funny because they're strangers. So when they're trying to talk about the emotional depth of these new experiences, it's simply not there. And it sounds like a bunch of. So when he went to see her at her spin class, she walked in. Oh, I'm just so glad that he's, you know, able to see me in this environment, because this. I live and breathe, you know, spin. This is just what I am. This is who I am in my core. So they go through the class. He in there, you know what I'm saying? On the bike. And she doing her thing. Yeah, come on. She walk in clapping with that headset on. You know how spin instructors, you know, those giving peloton. So after the class is over, they stand in there, right, with towels and this part of their hand on their hips. You know what I'm saying? Tired in a motherfucker. They standing up there and she.
Asante
She's.
Dustin
I'm just so glad to. How did it feel like, How'd you feel being here? He was like, oh, just, you know, seeing you, you know, just in this environment, it's just really like, wow. Just. Just so grateful to just see you in your environment. He kept repeating, see you in your environment, because he had nothing to fucking say. Lady, I came to your job. You know what I'm saying? Like, it was cool to see you at work. There's no. That's all.
Francesca
This is nothing else to it, girl.
Dustin
I'm just so glad he's here to just, you know, see, this is really a big part of who I am. And that's where they lose, right? On shows like this. On shows like Love is Blind, that's where they lose me.
Francesca
Because I love when they go to each other's homes.
Dustin
Yeah. And they're mortified.
Francesca
Oh, my God. That's always just, wow. So the real make or break. Yeah, that's how. In one of this. In last season. So the. The. Her name was. Mm, right? Mm. She was a doctor, right?
Dustin
She. Yeah, she worked in. I. I don't think she was a doctor. I think she was like a. Some kind of nurse, I think. I think she was like. It was something in the medical field. She was like a nurse and a well paid Nurse.
Francesca
Yeah, right. Something in the medical field. And she did well for herself. Had a beautiful, beautiful apartment. And then he is like an art. Like he's a teacher, a poet. Oh, he's a teacher. I thought he was a poet. And his heart and his. I mean, I didn't think his apartment was. It wasn't shitty or anything, but I felt intimidated. Right. I felt. At least that was my read. He's. He. Everything changed after they showed each other's apartments. His whole energy towards her.
Dustin
He was hating on her.
Francesca
Yeah.
Asante
Studio. And she had like a three bedroom townhome or something.
Dustin
Two levels, glass the fuck out. Two levels. He was. She had a karaoke machine and some up lights. Right. To have a good time. You know what I'm saying? Like you gonna do it? Do it. She had adult toys, which to me that's goals, right. I just can't believe you remember, friend. I just can't believe. So, wow. So we gonna. What we gonna do with the kara. You gonna take the karaoke and the up lights? Okay, let's dig into this for a minute, friend.
Francesca
When someone walks into your crib, even with that, that to me is a red flag.
Dustin
Well, my red flag was the jean jacket with the sleeves rolled up and no socks. Every outfit, every. This is who he was. This is what I mean when I say typical. Cause the profile, it was there to a tee.
Francesca
I know who he is, right? You know, with the beanie and the air maxes and the jean jacket.
Dustin
Buttons on the jean jacket. Buttons on a jean jacket, sweatpants, no socks. You know what I'm saying? And a brim hat. A brim hat or a beanie. Everything in this house was either like forest green. Like white walls with a little forest green couch. And like that, that lamp with the three prong wooden legs that everybody got. You know what I'm talking about? With the eggshell shade. He had all that and look. And a record player. You know what I'm saying? No, no, but. But you don't know your house look different. You know what I'm talking about? He was hating on her. He tried to say she was making advances and that I don't believe she made.
Francesca
Calling her aggressive. It was crazy. Asante.
Dustin
It's like you gotta watch Asante.
Francesca
Yeah. His ego was after he saw that she was doing good, he reminded me like, because I've, you know, I. I understand how that goes.
Asante
Dustin, you're right.
Francesca
Someone. And they come to your crib and start saying, oh, oh, oh. You like, you're like, get the out. Yeah, that's the sign for me.
Dustin
Your last time over here, bitch.
Asante
Yeah, most of this cast is like 35 plus. And then you have like three people that are 30 and under which are married.
Francesca
Is married at first sight. But I feel like that's how it should be. Why are you in your early 20s? Yeah, but it's like, where's the love of your life? Yeah, but you only have like.
Asante
Yeah, you only have like two, three people in your. You only have two, three people in your 30s. Or I mean 30, early 30s, mid-30s. And then you got like a bunch of people in their 50s and 60s. That's what I was like. Okay.
Dustin
You know, it's the weirdest thing because getting married to someone's sight unseen is something so stupid that it would be something somebody like 20 would do. But it's also a decision that would make sense for someone who is 50 and may maybe feels like they're tired of. You know what I'm saying? The typical dating game or haven't found what they were looking for. So it's a weird thing that just somehow lands.
Francesca
I will say this, though. The guy in this season that is in his 60s, right. There's a part of Santa asking him, oh, well, I'm thinking of the one that is with the lady that got married with the red dress. I don't know his name. He's like a scientist. I don't remember.
Asante
Okay. Chad is 54.
Francesca
He has like the white hat. Pat. Pat. It's Pat.
Asante
So Pat, space operations consultant.
Francesca
Because Pat said that he's doing this show because he's found that people in his age range don't want to commit. And all I thought was, God damn, it never ends.
Asante
That's crazy.
Francesca
In the 50s.
Asante
He's saying that.
Francesca
Yes. He said, I am having a hard time finding people that want to commit because they're so set in their ways at this point point that they are not looking for anything serious. And in my mind I'm like, that's fucking crazy that people in their 50s are still.
Dustin
Women are still very beautiful and desirable in their 50s.
Francesca
Absolutely.
Dustin
Men are taking Viagra. Men are taking Viagra. And so when you in your 50s, you still making dumb decisions, you know what I'm saying? Because you still have a little bit of. You still got a little fire.
Asante
Yeah.
Dustin
You know what I'm saying? Like, that's why.
Francesca
But you hear about the old folks home popping std. The STD rate was super high in the old folks home. I remember reading an article which Blew my mind because you're like, what are y' all doing in there?
Dustin
Ain't nothing to do, but, you know. And I had half of y' all people getting them jobs. You ain't doing nothing but sleeping, you know what I'm saying?
Asante
So they.
Dustin
Y' all at work, sleep watching baddies. And so them old people in there, each other.
Francesca
Damn, bro. That's so crazy. But I love it. I really enjoyed Later Daters. I did. I thought that was such a great.
Dustin
Concept and produced by Barack and Michelle Obama, by the way.
Francesca
Oh, I never knew that. It made me happy seeing, like, the black women that were, like, still active and out here and they look good, you know, she had her outfits and her dresses and all.
Dustin
The one lady was so pretty. And I love the way she spoke. She was older, but she looked younger. Beautiful brown skin.
Francesca
You know who I'm talking about? That's what I'm thinking of where I'm like, she made me happy to see how good she looked. And she's very like, boundary too. Like, no, I ain't gotta put up with you. Yeah.
Dustin
Old ass.
Asante
That's.
Dustin
Ain't that what she was on? That's what she say. I promise you like that. You know what? She was pulling. She was playing for real. Because she never raised her voice. Really. She never. She never.
Francesca
I love always got her.
Dustin
Yeah, she was real players. That means she been fine for a long time. When you that level of calm in. In dating situations been that, you know, it was what it was.
Francesca
Took real good care of herself. I'm obsessed with elders that look like that.
Dustin
Me too.
Francesca
I'm mad, right? Inspiring.
Dustin
Like, I just want to always be able to wear tennis shoes. I don't know. I just. I always. I just feel like as long as I can look appropriate in some tennis shoes, I feel good about myself.
Asante
Did you see the Air Force ones are considered a dad shoe now?
Dustin
Fuck them people.
Francesca
What? Who said that? It was like a sneaker list that dropped.
Asante
Allegedly. Accord, Gen Z and some other category. Consider white Air Force One's a dad shoe.
Francesca
That's crazy. I would have thought it was the opposite.
Asante
Right?
Francesca
I would have thought it was the opposite because I see these younger gen kids with the dirty ass. You know how they wear them dirty because we didn't wear them dirty. That was not an option. You would get a new pair before you walk out with some.
Dustin
If they crease, you'd be like, well.
Francesca
Yeah, I get old now, but they would rock on beat. I've actually. When we've Gone thrifting would see the dirty ass Air Force ones like still being.
Asante
They come at a premium now.
Francesca
Yeah. Where I'm like, who would buy this? But then I think, oh yeah. Actually there are a lot of people.
Dustin
Williamsburg. Yeah. You know Bushwick. Go out to Bushwick. But wait. But.
Asante
Out here too. When I first seen Charlotte, there's a thrifting scene out here.
Francesca
I was like, there sure is. Absolutely.
Dustin
I'll go out there and give me some. But you sound so young and stupid saying that Air Force ones are a dad shoe. First of all, fashion repeats itself stupid. That's why people still wearing bell bottoms.
Asante
Kendrick Lamar staple to classic.
Francesca
Thank you.
Dustin
He did the super bowl in bear bottom jeans. In the mud jeans. You know what I'm saying? He did. So fashion repeats itself stupid. That means that their dad shoes to you because you young and dumb and don't know that you still yellow and don't know nothing better. You know what I'm saying? They're gonna come back around. That's why it's been a staple since far as I can remember. Air Force One's been around. You know what I'm saying?
Francesca
Yeah. Yeah.
Dustin
You sound stupid.
Francesca
I have a pair. I don't really wear Air Force ones. My secret style has changed. I noticed. I don't even really gravitate towards my ones no more.
Dustin
I wear Tim's all the time.
Asante
You mainly choose friends.
Francesca
No, no. I'm. I've gravitated towards fours. Like I've been wearing my fours a.
Dustin
Lot and they're comfortable too.
Francesca
And I may. Yeah, I love them and they're just cute. I feel like your pants just fall real cute for some reason. The ones. It's like my. Something in my brain shifted. Now when I put them on, I feel like I'm gonna go to a hip hop class in la. You know what I mean?
Dustin
Like it's like at Millennium.
Francesca
At Millennium. You see what I'm saying? When I throw them on my sweatpants, that's what it's giving me. It's giving. You got served. Oh, I don't know what happened. Like, I have such a huge collection, but then I don't want to donate them or give them away either because.
Dustin
You know it's going to come because.
Francesca
Maybe my mind will change. Yep. But right now it's just not hitting for me. I don't like what's the worst when.
Asante
You get rid of something and then your mind change.
Francesca
That happens to me a lot with.
Asante
There's a lot of that. I didn't gave up.
Dustin
I'm like, damn, you just go over there. I need my shirt back.
Asante
Drop that in the mail, please.
Francesca
I remember I did that at the thrift store. I had donated. And then as she was pulling them out the bag and holding them up, I wanted them. I was like, okay, wait, No, I changed my mind.
Asante
He's like, oh, put that one to the side.
Francesca
Actually, I was like, give it back.
Asante
Take that one back.
Dustin
Huh?
Asante
Yeah.
Francesca
I'm the worst.
Dustin
I ain't no worse.
Asante
That's smart.
Dustin
That. That's your any damn way. You know what I'm saying? Give me my goddamn shirt.
Francesca
Being out here has definitely affecting my style because I find myself. I like, okay, don't make fun of me. But I'd be wearing, like. I can't even say it.
Asante
Come on.
Francesca
Like, you know the little hiker sneakers that the white ob. Like keen. Like keen and Danners. Like those friends.
Dustin
Wow.
Asante
Friend.
Francesca
I know. I'm that girl with a fleece.
Asante
Even the way you said it.
Dustin
Look, look. And a nameplate necklace. Right?
Francesca
Cause you gotta keep it P.
Dustin
In pdx. Okay. Damn.
Asante
I mean.
Dustin
But I know you make it fly, though. I know you make it fly, though.
Francesca
I make it very New York. Like, I still wear it. How I'm gonna wear it. But it makes me laugh when I look now like, I got a pair of these keen hiking sneakers.
Dustin
Wow.
Francesca
And when I put them on with my sweats, I just busted out laughing. I was like, wow.
Dustin
A sign of the times if you think about it. Right when we go back. Cause, you know, like 90s, early 2000s, like New York hip hop. That's my favorite aesthetic. It just feels very new.
Francesca
Me like I'm Jakiss.
Dustin
Exactly. Okay.
Francesca
Remember that ad that Kia sent me with him with Columbia jackets? Like, that's me. I am Jadakiss in the Columbia clothes.
Dustin
So my thing is. I'm glad. That's a perfect example, though. We wasn't even supposed to be wearing that shit. Wasn't designed to appeal to.
Francesca
Where you going to wear street wear.
Dustin
We wearing Helly Hansen coats, all of that shit. We.
Asante
We.
Dustin
We saw those items and made them cool and made them work.
Francesca
Especially like Carhartt. That's construction workers clothing in New York.
Dustin
Exactly. So, like, that's not. So it's not a stretch to think that you would be able to take that style, you know what I'm saying?
Francesca
And that's.
Dustin
And adapt it and make it. Make it fresh. You know what I'm saying? Them wasn't thinking about us when they Designed all that even now, right?
Francesca
Yeah.
Dustin
Lil Kim said that a lot of these stores won't even let you whores in. That's what Lil Kim said.
Asante
The truth.
Dustin
You know what I'm saying?
Francesca
My. But my Columbia jackets that I've thrifted from out here.
Dustin
I know you locked and loaded.
Francesca
What those 90s Columbia is like. I just want. I'm gonna send y' all pictures. And I sent a picture of. Yes, I sent y' all a picture of the new Tommy Hilfiger pullover windbreaker. Oh, my God.
Dustin
Must have. Right?
Francesca
Let me tell you. I told you, I threw that on with some Eastlands. And I walked by this old dude, this older dude, he was from Philly that lives out here. He was like. He was so happy when he saw me. He was like, oh, I know you not from. I was like, sure ain't. And it was so cute because we had that east coast moment.
Dustin
Yes.
Francesca
But it's funny because I'm never gonna stop wearing that stuff. I'm sorry. I'm gonna be 75. Wearing fucking.
Dustin
What? Literally. Bury me a G, like the song said. Because I don't even want to wear. No. Anyway, we're not even going to get to that dark, morbid conversation, right? But when I come to. Because I was about to describe my funeral outfit.
Francesca
But anyway, when I come to, your toes.
Dustin
Crossed your ankles just like Aretha. Hell yeah.
Asante
You know where he want that stitching, friend?
Dustin
Yeah. Yeah.
Francesca
That's so gross.
Asante
You're in charge, friend. I said.
Dustin
I said in my show, I wanted him to break my arm so they could lift up and make my look big. I want to hold myself in my cast.
Francesca
You're so crazy.
Asante
I'm. Just make sure the boxes are checked. Okay.
Dustin
Thank you. What? I also would like to. Because I want to bulge. Also, I want to go out with pride. So if y' all got to put something down there, you know what I'm saying? That's fine with me. You know what I'm saying? Anyway, I. When I come to Portland, everybody got.
Francesca
A sock in here, Right?
Dustin
Thank you. See a friend till the end, the.
Asante
Person gonna be rigor mortis.
Francesca
Okay.
Dustin
Right, That's. And then my corpse is gonna do like this. Because even in the afterlife, I'm gonna be appreciative. You know what I'm saying?
Asante
Oh.
Dustin
But when I come to Portland, we're going thrifting, flat out. We're gonna have a shopping day.
Asante
I wanna come straight up.
Dustin
Yeah.
Francesca
I wanna come because I always love thrifting. Nothing compares To New York. Thrifting. Like, I'm sorry, but here, because of the 90s style that I do love the most, it just hits so much. Like I had to actually stop myself from thrifting so much because there came a point when I especially like the first two years here, I would go in to say, oh, let me just look. Right. Mind you, I didn't need anything like. And that's the problem too with thrifting, where you have to control yourself. Because unless you're looking for something specific, you have to control yourself. Because I remember one winter I came out with all these coats. Like my coat closet, I literally had to get racks because I don't have wardrobe racks. Mind you think of how many closets are in this house you had a.
Asante
Different coat for every day at a damn season.
Francesca
No space whatsoever. So I had to get. I have three racks in the attic.
Dustin
Three racks, racks on racks.
Francesca
Three 48 inch racks that are full of just puff like Tommy Hilfiger puff coats. Helen.
Dustin
That would make me happy.
Francesca
Vanson.
Dustin
Like, that would make me happy. Personally. I would find joy.
Francesca
I go up there.
Asante
So I need to come with an empty suitcase.
Francesca
You do?
Asante
Yeah.
Francesca
And it's crazy cuz I barely go anywhere but here I am with three racks of fly.
Dustin
When it's time though.
Asante
Oh my God, Brandon. Then you going to drive us around New York.
Dustin
You going to be. Oh yes.
Asante
We go ride in France.
Dustin
Whip. I got to. I'mma smoke outside your car. And then I'm excited to come pick.
Francesca
Y' all up at the airport and get out.
Asante
We going to be in Portland. I'll even take some of them high grade edibles out there.
Dustin
Yeah. Hell yeah.
Francesca
And the airport here. Wait till you see the airport hands.
Dustin
I've seen it on you. Seen it like you. That wouldn't work. That would work in the, in the trees inside.
Francesca
It is one of the most beautiful airports I've ever seen outside of like, you know, when you go to Asia.
Dustin
Because I feel like you next level, but next level.
Francesca
Yeah.
Dustin
I'm obsessed with mega structures, right. So like stadiums, arenas, new arenas, airports, train stations. I'm obsessed with that. And I watch a lot of like YouTube channels.
Francesca
Yeah.
Dustin
That chronicle the construction of those. And I watched the video about the Portland airport specifically and I was like, this is so friend. I was like, I could see her walking through this terminal. You know what I'm saying?
Francesca
Like every time I land, I'm like, I'm back home. It's just like. And then they had told you they Have a terminal? Well, the terminal I walked through always. It has birds chirping and like these really meditative sounds. Like it's so that you feel like you're on a hike as opposed to walking through. And I just think that's genius. And they drew like trees on the wall. Like somebody, you know, they hired a local artist to do murals of trees. Just so thoughtful. I think it's just a thoughtful, lovely airport. It is. I heard LaGuardia is very well lit. I heard LaGuardia's is fire. I know I don't fly into LaGuardia, so I haven't seen it in years. I only do jfk.
Dustin
Cause you're west coast bomb. Do you hear me?
Francesca
Really?
Dustin
They be saying they got LaGuardia, got a BBL. That's what everybody should say.
Asante

Asante
These Doritos, Doritos Golden Sriracha aren't that spicy.
Francesca
Sriracha sounds pretty spicy to me.
Asante
A little spicy, but also tangy and sweet.
Francesca
Maybe it's time to turn up the heat.
Asante
Or turn it down. It's time for something that's not too spicy. Try Doritos Golden Sriracha. Spicy but not too spicy.
Ryan Reynolds

Francesca
I mean it took long enough. That was under construction.
Dustin
My whole life I feel JFK is under construction now.
Francesca
So really I wonder what they're doing to it.
Asante
Man, Charlotte finna be under construction.
Dustin
The airport's always under construction.
Francesca
Well, Charlotte's always been under construction. Yeah, since I can remember, it's always had the wood paneling on the side and the scaffolding in the middle of your terminal.
Asante
Well, apparently there's a construction plan out here to move the airport like little by little because it's not close.
Francesca
How would you do that?
Asante
Well, instead of building a. Because I was reading about this because y' all know we had to vote last week and so part of the vote was some of that money going towards transportation out here. And so it passed. And so they were saying part of that is going to be going to buses, trains, the whole nine. But there was a conversation happening about how there's not a terminal or there's not access for to public transportation from the airport. It's not easily accessible. So why not build transportation to the airport? But apparently there's a plan to slowly inch the airport closer to transportation, but still not there, I think. But I don't know, apparently those plans might change. I was like this is kind of crazy. But even right now is a crazy time with the government shut down everything travel is a bitch. So everybody please travel safely. I say that because Mandy was in New York recently. Her flight to Atlanta got canceled. She ended up getting a flight To Charlotte. Her flights got canceled. She almost ended up staying with me, and then she ended up making it back home.
Francesca
But, oh, that's my fear. Cause I'm traveling for the holidays specifically, and I'm kind of dreading it because it's already fucked. And that's just now. So imagine what they say is the biggest traveling day, few days, I should say, of the year. I'm like, God, I hate to be in that number.
Dustin
I got a lot of travel in December, right?
Francesca
I thought of you. I thought of you, too.
Dustin
We haven't announced it, but I got some. Some more stuff coming out in December when you were telling me.
Francesca
And I thought of you like, damn, this is such shitty timing. And I actually wanted to do. I had a plan. Like, I wanted to go to Texas with y', all, right, for the Boys Mind tour. I want to go to Nashville to see Claude, because I haven't. I still haven't seen his new house, which is ridiculous. I want to stay there for the weekend. And then I wanted to go to Oakland to spend some time with Haas and my best friend and.
Dustin
Hey, Haas. Hey, kids. And your best friend.
Francesca
I know. And so that's my time to really take those trips. Because that's when we're on break, right? But now with this, it makes me reconsider because I'm like, God, how would all those trips work? I don't know. But, I mean, you just gotta deal with it, I guess. There's no way around it, right? Not gonna also stay home and just not do. Just because they're with us. So I really don't know.
Dustin
I'm praying. And I just think it is so gross that they have politicized everything that they possibly can to the detriment of us. The US My fellow American. I'm so. I am. I am so sick of that. Personally. We feel it. It's touching us every single day, more and more. We're being touched and poked and pushed by these political agendas.
Asante
Workers.
Francesca
Imagine going to work and not getting paid and not just going to work, but in these capacities where you have to deal with so much, like the air traffic control, like, and where people were.
Asante
People were work. You have to go to work, not get paid. If you decide not to go to work, you're gonna get fired if you go to work. Some of those days that you're already not getting paid because they're cutting. Because I saw a video. I didn't watch the whole thing or I didn't hear the whole thing, rather, but it was A flight attendant explaining some of the cuts, saying, you know, the airline industry is cut 10 across the board and how the flights are getting cut, you know, on a daily basis. So imagine you show up for work. It's not like working in a restaurant where you get cash in hand on the day. Like they're working just under the guys up. You know, I'm gonna get paid one day maybe. Right. So imagine you go to work thinking like, all right, well, hopefully this is gonna add to that check I'm waiting on. Hopefully. Well, actually, you're part of the 10 today. You're not getting paid. Sorry, go home. Like, I got a family to feed. Like, this ain't no.
Dustin
What kind of is that?
Francesca
And you're already dealing with a lot. A higher volume of disgruntled people because of all this. So not only are you not getting paid, but you're taking more than usual at the same time. That's a lot.
Asante
So those agents. That's why I don't be trying to curse them agents out. I'd be nice as to everybody in the airport especially.
Francesca
Yeah. Unless they're being a dick.
Asante
Now, if you're a traveler and you bumping into me. Right.
Francesca
Yeah.
Asante
Now, customer service. So when your supervisor gets there, you're in trouble. Like. Like, oh, like you call them. Great. I needed you actually, so we can.
Francesca
Have this conversation, right? Yeah. I try not to take it out on them because I know they be stressed just like we are. So.
Dustin
Yeah, take your ass home though, you feel me, like, because I'm trying to get through this airport. I really don't even want to talk to your ass, to be honest.
Francesca
Are y' all traveling this month?
Dustin
I am at the. I have a show in Charlotte. So. Shout out to everybody that bought tickets. We praying, right? Shout out to everybody that bought tickets. The showtime got moved to 3pm at the venue or whatever. They've been good. They fixed the issue, but. And we conceded to move our show to 3pm no big deal. And we actually have. I'm so excited. Cause Don Juan from the Candy Coated Entertainment Company, Candy's general manager, he's gonna open. He's doing stand up comedy now. So Don Juan, he's from North Carolina, so it makes sense, you know what I'm saying? Yeah. So it just feels good to be able to. You know what I'm saying? He a young black man doing his thing. I am. You know what I'm saying? It feels good to be able to like, do that together. So I'm really excited about that. But the show, I just wanted to alert people who are listening and have either purchased ticket or tickets or are planning on. Right. It's a time change. Move to 3pm, but. So I am traveling this month, but not until the 30th, which is Thanksgiving weekend. And then on December, I'm on the road.
Francesca
So we gonna pray. I'm gonna be at your show. I'm definitely pulling up.
Asante
Yeah.
Dustin
Thank you. I can't wait to see y'.
Francesca
All. I know.
Asante
Hug y'. All.
Francesca
That I know.
Asante
Yeah, I'm not gonna make it. I'm actually. No, I'm just playing. I'mma be.
Dustin
It's all good. I'm coming over your house.
Asante
You coming over your house and looking around.
Francesca
And looking around.
Dustin
I be like, show me the bag things. What's in them cabinet?
Asante
You can't go on them cabinets. You can't go on them cabinets.
Francesca
I'm excited. I pray. Everything is definitely. I love the Charlotte audiences too. Remember, we used to enjoy them. They're fun and, like, expressive and engaging, and they show up like, it's always a really good time.
Dustin
Charlotte lacquer.
Asante
Every time I see somebody when I'm out, they'd be like, hey, Asante. But, hey, what's up? And it'd just be at the randomest places. They just. I love that. That's the Southern shit that I miss. Like, just speaking to people and then just, you know, sharing just pleasantries and moving along. In New York, that was not the place to do that. Not because, you know, nobody wanted to talk to you. Everybody had somewhere to be. Okay, out of my way. But, you know, in the south, everybody has somewhere to be. But it's like, you know, we got time, the weather's nice, or, you know, you know, there's space, we can breathe. It just feels different. So I love the Charlotte audience as well.
Francesca
Yeah.
Asante
I'm praying for everyone that has to travel because Mandy was stuck in the airport. She was in a onesie for most of it, man. So he was comfortable.
Francesca
Then she's stuck. Do you.
Asante
Do you remember she, I believe, was stuck for over 12 hours in one airport and then a bunch of hours in the next airport.
Dustin
That's happened to me before.
Asante
Yeah, same. I've been there.
Francesca
And I do not have to travel with. With the equipment. Cuz God forbid I get stuck. I don't want our.
Dustin
Oh, yeah.
Francesca
I would show to be, you know, so I was gonna travel, you know, during the holiday, and then I had the weekend. But I'm gonna take it just in.
Dustin
Case thank you for doing that because that's a. A whole thing to. To do, so.
Francesca
Thank you. Such a pain in the butt to carry.
Asante
You have to start doing a travel setup. Okay. Like.
Francesca
Like right. Like a. More like pared down. That still works. That should be a lot. I'll be having to take an extra.
Dustin
Bag and I gotta give me another Iheart deal. So I can just start going to the Iheart studios.
Asante
Okay.
Dustin
It. You know what I'm saying?
Francesca
Come on. Oh, I do miss that.
Asante
The Iheart studio in Atlanta. There's a little everything in Atlanta. New Atlanta is a real thing, y'. All. Yeah, this. This belt line that everybody is upset about, but people are loving so much.
Dustin
Like, I love the Belt line.
Asante
The Belt line.
Francesca
Look, I don't know what that is.
Dustin
So it's like, well, go ahead. My bad. Tell you.
Asante
No, you probably spent more time on it. Well, no, I was just gonna say that there was like, right downtown, there was an area, they tore it all down and built like these new condos, like, expensive ass. And it's like a nice ass park, like walkway, like bikeway, like a bunch of restaurants and shit. Just like really nice new shit right in the heart of Atlanta.
Francesca
So wait, where? Like, not where the 10th Street Lofts? Like in that area?
Asante
No, so it's southern. It's a little bit south of that. Okay, let me get the exact location of the Belt Line. Cause I remember walking around downtown be.
Dustin
Like, what the fuck is this?
Francesca
Yeah.
Asante
And then Mandy's always like, yeah, we're going to the Belt Line today.
Francesca
The Belt. I have. Well, I don't really be there no more. That's why I'm like, I haven't heard anyone talk about it. I be forgetting India. Don't be there.
Dustin
I love Atlanta.
Asante
The Atlanta Belt line is a 22 mile multi use trail system and linear park built on former railroad corridors that connects 45 neighborhoods around the core of Atlanta. It features trails for walking, biking, and running along with parks, art installations, and future transit options. And it's a. It's an attraction for recreation and a hub for local culture, karma, commerce and events.
Dustin
A lot of creatives hang out down there.
Francesca
Oh, wow, look at it.
Dustin
This is gonna be fine. Running on the bell line all the time.
Francesca
I would, of course. What a cool concept.
Asante
Ain't that crazy?
Francesca
I never heard of it, but like.
Asante
You see how it connects and loops and shit. I was like, what the is this?
Francesca
Fourth Ward park, east side trail, Gateway. Yeah, I'm looking at it. That's fire. Yeah, I Haven't. I haven't been to Atlanta. Like to chill, like on a personal. Yeah, it's always like for work or in and out. Yeah. So I'm completely out the loop. But that's fire.
Dustin
I've been doing day trips down there for work shit. And it's been cool. But sometimes I'll be wanting to stay. You know what I'm saying? You fly in, get on that 8 o' clock or 6 o' clock a.m. flight and then I'll fly out at like 9, 9:30. I've been doing that for work.
Francesca
I used to love flying either Atlanta or Charlotte because it was always so quick. Especially Charlotte. Oh my God, what's that? Like an hour and a half from New York? It's so quick.
Dustin
It's funny because Charlotte.
Asante
Lifestyles of the rich and famous. It's funny. When we were talking about the Portland airport and how it is. I was thinking about Atlanta, how even though that is big as hell and some of those, if you don't take the little air train, if you take the corridors to each. What is that damn terminal? Yeah. There used to be like all that art down there and how I would see that and be like, damn, this would be cool if I didn't have to rush down this. Because air tram was packed.
Francesca
Like that airport gives me anxiety. It's just too much going on. But I do love the food options. Y' all got the best food options.
Asante
Yep.
Francesca
I'll tell you that much.
Asante
Food everywhere. Food everywhere.
Dustin
Who else got good food options is some Texas airports. Dallas and then Houston, Hobby and Bush.
Asante
Papa Dough in it.
Dustin
All the. I think, I'm telling you, like, them Texas airports are full of good food, good fast food, just good junky good food. You know what I'm saying? Like, they're full of it.
Francesca
That's one thing I. I think PDX needs to. But then again, I gotta consider where we're at. They're just more health conscious.
Asante
Yeah.
Dustin
Because LAX needs some more food too. I don't want no Coffee Bean company.
Francesca
That's literally what it's like here.
Asante
I do enjoy a little ice Child. The Coffee Bean.
Dustin
Oh, God. You know what I'm saying? And lemonade. Lemonade. The. The lemonade restaurant. Which. That is actually good though. But I'm tired of it. Like, LAX needs some more here.
Francesca
Here you can get coffee and then they have the shop that sells those water bottles that says Portland or like a Scully or like a fleece. Of course, they just want to get you ready to go on a hike. As you leave the airport.
Asante
You know it's cold out here.
Francesca
Yeah. But I. Yeah. Pray for all of us traveling. Lord, I just hope it's.
Asante
Pray for everyone traveling. Pray for everyone working in the government really. But you know, airline industries especially because damn, like I know that the people working there. Look, TSA people always say they already got attitude. So definitely can't imagine the type of.
Dustin
The A is for attitude. That's what they said it's for.
Francesca
Didn't the, didn't they come to a resolution? Even if it wasn't a resolution we wanted. But they came to one right. Where it's no longer shut down or in the process of being reopened. So even though we're unhappy with the results, but at least I'm glad the federal workers are gonna get their money back.
Asante
I'm happy about that.
Dustin
But fuck them 8 ho ass democrats.
Asante
They came.
Francesca
That's how I was in the.
Asante
Should we name them?
Dustin
I don't even feel like going that deep before them. It's eight of them and you can easily google who they are.
Francesca
Yeah.
Dustin
And vote they asses out. Just like old girl said. And lean on me. The school board's gonna hit us at 6 o' clock and we're gonna vote your black ass up. Well, y' all better vote they white ass out.
Francesca
I think they're gonna be voted out. I really wholeheartedly believe that. I feel like people are exhausted with.
Dustin
Too much going on, man.
Francesca
Yeah. I think it's there on that campaign of to get these out and get the ones that we want in.
Dustin
I do not like this. And, and it, it is so. It is so against who I am. My, my core fundamental principles as a person and a man. Right. It's so against that for me to have to look at one year old babies being pepper sprayed, women being thrown down on the ground and handcuffed. And the way these are executing this mass deportation is some of the most disgusting that I have ever seen. And as a man, you know what I'm saying, It's hard for me to look at that and not physically be able to help or do nothing.
Asante
Right.
Dustin
You know, this is why would be quitting their jobs and uprooting their lives and going to work on missions and because you become passionate about a cause and you literally want to be able to help, somebody needs to do something about the way that they are doing this mass deportation. People can have, they can have their POVs on immigration issues and what needs to be fixed and all of the conversations that are necessary. But that Ain't right.
Francesca
It's not the way.
Dustin
I don't give a what. Nobody says that it's not okay to separate families. Uproot these people's. Literally destroy these people's lives. And mind you, they're going to get these people while they're at work. So these are not no criminals.
Francesca
Daycares and pretty schools and elementary schools. You know what I gotta give it to out here they have created like a neighborhood newsletters which is so genius where whenever there's sightings like they're putting together sightings. Yeah, it's kind of like the citizens app, I guess. But there's. They've created an alert system out here. And so what happens now? If anyone sees them near your school, all the people in of that particular neighborhood will go to the school and create a human chain around the school so that when the kids are coming out they, you know, they get in the way. Like they're putting their bodies and interfering.
Dustin
Thank God for those people.
Francesca
What? Like because. Thank God for them because that's a scary position to be in, right? You don't know if you're going to get shot. Let's be real here. You don't know if you're going to get maimed. Like you really don't know where it's going to get taken to. But they're still doing it. And I just think that's so live and I even me having to see the ICE agents out here, I hate how it makes me feel.
Dustin
I hate what I'm saying. That's who you are as a person.
Francesca
Yeah, I don't like that shit. I've seen them this, I've seen them three times already. And one time it actually made my heart drop because I was going on my walk. Just so crazy, right? You just going on a walk like everyday normal shit. I made a turn on this block and I could hear commotion. So I was like, let me get the out of here. I didn't know it was happening. I couldn't see but I could hear it like as. As I had turned. So I got home and because it was dark out too, I was like, let me get my ass home. So I go to look to see if you know what that was, you know, on the next door app you can see if something happened in particular. Black block ICE had taken three people just right there. Just like that. That's so crazy to me. That's so crazy to me.
Dustin
Literally just all them people that them dirty ass. You a dirty piece of. If you're taking Those jobs and executing those missions. You're a horrible person and you can be bought and you have no integrity people.
Francesca
And the amount of Latin men that I've seen that I'm like through them.
Dustin
Ass with that ass. Yep. You gonna pay for me more?
Francesca
Because this should be a. Yeah. Across the board. Anyone who takes a job, but more specifically when it's our folks doing it, I just feel like, what the.
Dustin
Because it's another betrayal. It's another. It's not just a betrayal against humanity now. It's a cultural betrayal. Right. You are a person who has a lived experience that is in some way similar to mine. And you also have a similar understanding of. Of the environment that we live in. And you know what you're doing is wrong. All them people that are doing that know what they're doing is wrong. And somehow some way is my belief that there is a. There's a payback for that. Something happens. Something happens.
Francesca
But do you really think that they feel what they're doing is wrong? Because whenever I look at the videos, they do not look like they think they know.
Dustin
That's why they get a thrill out of. Of it. The thrill and the excitement that they're getting is not from completing some pious mission, some, some. Some rightful thing. It's a power dynamic and it's a. Through, you know, there's an attraction to, To. To overpowering a human being to the point of submission and, and to the point of, you know, that you're changing, you're ruining their lives. And you're doing that to message something to a group of people or message something. Something based on whatever experiences that you've had. You know what you're doing is wrong, you know.
Francesca
Yeah.
Dustin
Because even if you believe it's right, you believe it's right because of something wrong, some wrong feeling that you know is bad and that you, you were not emboldened to be so blatant and obvious with. And honest about until that got in office. I don't give a. What nobody say, man. So, So I just. I really hate seeing that. And I don't want to take this thing down or whatever, but. But I just really hate. I hate seeing that. I hate seeing that when it's. When it's kids. I talked about this shit during the first administration that his ass was in them little kids in, in immigration court representing themselves at 2 and 3 years old. And what kind of. What I. I get angry thinking about that because it's children. You know what I'm saying?
Asante
Yeah.
Dustin
So I don't know how that's okay with anybody, but it's not okay with me. I just wanted to put that out there. But I also wanted to put out there that in two weeks, I got a show for y' all ass. Okay? And I can't wait.
Francesca
You did say. I thought you were talking about the Dustin Ross live, but you mean.
Dustin
Oh, well, that too. Go to dustinrosslive.com you heard me. Catch me in Charlotte November 30th, Miami at the Miami Improv, December 4th. And I got some more to tell y' all soon, but there is an entire situation going down on Tick Tock right now that has transcended from the app into the literal US Court system. Okay, in your state, Asante of North Carolina, there's a Tick Tock creator named Brene, right? Oh, it's this black girl.
Francesca
I literally just got put on to that.
Dustin
You just got put on like, a week ago.
Asante
Oh, my God.
Dustin
There's a whole scandal going on on TikTok right now that involves marriages, infidelities, cousins, content creators.
Asante
Content creators, former high schoolers, something about this. And I didn't know what the fuck was going on because somebody was on Alive at the time.
Dustin
I was like, I got your back. Because.
Francesca
Can we just say this? And I know you gonna do an episode, so I'm not gonna say too much, but is it just me? But I'm like, why is everyone. Everyone's so into this?
Dustin
Because there's a court case.
Francesca
It's huge. It's rare that I can. I can scroll on Tick Tock and. And at least one out of every ten people I scroll. And mind you, I haven't engaged with it. It's different. I know if I'm, like, watching and liking and looking for a hashtag, but it's like, people are. It finds you involved in this case.
Dustin
And I ain't even over there yet. But. But it's a huge case. It's a huge case. The lady has huge breasts. That were a part of the story, right? That were a part of the story. That's a part of the story. There was a GoFundMe that was collected, but the money was never applied to a breast reduction. There was an appointment with Dr. Miami. That never happened. That caused a scar. There's so many things. Tits cheating, millions of dollars, hollers, dirty bedrooms, all of it.
Asante
All of it.
Dustin
Love it. And we're gonna break it on down. Like Tevin Campbell said, break it down. We gonna break this down. Okay. In two weeks. I found a video on YouTube. I wish I had it up now, but shout out to the content creator. As a matter of fact, let me find it. I found a YouTube video where the young lady was like breaking it down or whatever that I was watching earlier. Please come up. Let me go to my history. Yes. The table for two podcasts. Right?
Francesca
Right.
Dustin
It's a lady that has a YouTube channel called the Table for Two Podcast. And she has a video that's 57 minutes and 13 seconds long called the Brene Scandal. And it's part one. Right. And that's where I'm getting information from. And I'm gonna go over to TikTok and actually go to the creator's pages. I'm gonna produce this and research it well and we're gonna have a deep dive in two weeks. Cause people are talking about this and so we're gonna talk about it.
Francesca
I mean I know the bones of it, but I didn't realize like. And I, I didn't know that court.
Dustin
For that alienation of affection, baby. And not only that, it's a North Carolina thing. North Carolina specifically, there's a. And I knew about it for me.
Francesca
I was like, wait, you could take someone to court for cheating in North Carolina?
Dustin
It's a, it's a state law in North Carolina that applies in that way. And I can't remember the. To give me two weeks. We'll get back to this in two weeks. But we're going to break down the Bernay of it all in two weeks. And I am, I, I ain't talking about Brene Brown. Dustin
Okay, Renee from TikTok. We gonna talk.
Francesca
He said. Tits cheating.
Dustin
All of it. Million dollars said judgments. I said. What got me was I saw a video clip on the Neighborhood Talk. Shout out to the neighborhood Talk. But I saw a video clip on the Neighborhood Talk where these women were jumping up in a courtroom celebrating a victory. And it said that a tiktoker named Bernee was ordered to pay $1.75 million to somebody's wife who. Yes, this just happened, like today one. That's when I was like, hold on, let me deep dive into this. And I was like, whoa, whoa, my.
Francesca
And I saw people say. And I saw people saying that the biggest part is whether or not she's going to get a social media ban, which apparently is a thing they can. The courts can ban you. Y' all remember that girl that got online and was saying that someone hit.
Dustin
Her on the face with a brick.
Francesca
And she had that Big.
Asante
Yep.
Francesca
She has a 10 year social media.
Asante
I did see that.
Francesca
I was like, I didn't even know that was a thing.
Dustin
That's a good thing.
Asante
That is a good thing. I was happy. I was happy to hear that. But at the same time, I didn't know it was a thing either. And so I saw it. I was like, damn.
Francesca
When I tell you you can't get on Instagram, that's fucking crazy.
Asante
Like, how do they even track that? Like, damn, that's cool. But also scary crazy.
Dustin
Yeah, well.
Francesca
And so people are saying that if this happens to her, considering, you know, all this is, that's her way of making money, like content creation and that would be crazy.
Dustin
Yep. She don't have to be a producer and get behind some other creators and help their pages. Just figure out another way. Blue Cantrell. I'll find a way. She'll figure it out.
Francesca
This is interesting just because it was a lot of things that I legit didn't know you could take to the courts. Like so.
Dustin
Also, there's another video that I saw that I want to talk about on our show too. And I'm gonna do a show, another episode about this. Well, this is essentially a survey for our audience. That's why I'm sharing these early ideas. Typically we kind of keep that private and just put the out. Yeah. But I want to know what y' all think so you can feel free to get into something. Friends, comments, message them, tell them what you think. They'll let me know and then I'll make this, you know, we'll make a decision together.
Asante
We gonna let you know. We'll let you know.
Dustin
Hey, did you see the. Well, intermission. So if you watch the Chasing Reality shows, for those who don't know, if you go to YouTube and search Chasing Reality, it's a YouTube account that has original programming that is shot the same way. Like, reality shows on television are about local personalities in different cities. They have Chasing Atlanta, they have Chasing Orlando, they have Chasing Dallas, they have Chasing la. These are shows they had expanded.
Asante
Yes.
Dustin
And shout out to Andre from Chasing la. I met him in. In the bar in New York. Hey, Lamb, that's fire. I ran into him and he was so nice and so cool. And also shout out to Quentin Harris too, one of the producers of Chasing la. But they had a. They had an announcement for the season seven cast of Chasing Atlanta and the show had been on pause. Season six was supposed to be the end. They called it Chasing Atlanta Forever. And then there was like some issues between cast and production and I think kind of made it difficult to continue as it was. And so they reformatted the show and rebooted it only brought back two cast members from the other season. It's all new cast members and one of them is my friend. There's a new cast member on the show named Carl and he goes by K Star. I've been knowing Carl. Carl. I've been knowing him since Michigan. We've been friends for years. And so when I saw he was.
Asante
Going to be on there, I was.
Dustin
Cracking up because he had. Has a huge personality and people that are familiar with him will know exactly what I'm talking about. Carl is always in some on the Internet. That's just, you know him. I love him. That's been my bro for years. So I was happy to see him on there. So for those that partake, now back to what we was talking about. Which was what? Asante, where were we?
Asante
Oh, damn. I was supposed to hold that baton.
Dustin
Yeah, well, wherever we were. Oh, the second thing that we're going to talk about, right?
Asante
Yeah, yeah.
Dustin
So I also saw a video where there was this black woman in Michigan. She was a scientist and she was studying the way that wildlife in Michigan, in Detroit specifically, is interacting with the urban world around it, right. She had all these cameras set up in like forests and parks in the city, in Detroit overnight, where she would record like the interactions of wildlife. Coyotes. There's a large coyote population in Detroit now. Skunks and shit. Just all these wild animals that. That are mixing and mingling with these urban developments that people really don't see. It was fascinating. And it was a black woman that was coming up with all these experiments. She's a scientist. I don't have her name now, but we're going to talk about that too because. And seeing some of the videos, the way them coyotes was chasing people's cats and shit on their floor at night, you know what I'm saying? We were in the house, sleep and you know, you might have a cat that you let stay outside overnight. Whatever they terrorizing pets at nighttime. There's pictures of them with skunk with something in his damn mouth and like they've been these animals up and it was. It ain't funny, but it was funny because out of Dodge.
Francesca
In the daytime, the night time, we seeing hella coyotes.
Dustin
So we're gonna talk about that too.
Francesca
I like that. I'm down some new.
Dustin
New.
Francesca
And it's crazy because we're almost done with the year. I was looking at the calendar just to kind of see, like, you know, what I have in mind for the next month. And I was like, oh, my God, we literally only have like a month. What? Maybe a little five weeks. Five, six weeks left in friend zone.
Dustin
And you have 30 minutes.
Asante
30 minutes.
Francesca
Which is so nuts. But, yeah, another fabulous year that we're closing out strong. Is there anything else you guys want to let the audience know before we get up out of here?
Dustin
Not for me. Not this week. What about you, Tay?
Asante
I watched all of the reunions of everything possible because I had just caught up on the Love is Blonde reunion. I did not watch that.
Dustin
Oh, they had it. What are going. Did Edmond cuss that girl out?
Asante
No, you know, I actually. So the reunion was about an hour and a half. About Right when they got to Edmond and Calabria, I fell off. I was like, damn. I didn't think I was gonna not watch the black people, but.
Francesca
Cause they last.
Asante
Yeah. And I was. I just didn't like the reunion. But also I didn't really like the season, so. Yeah, could have had a V8, but I did watch Selling Sunset Friend. You're absolutely right. It was not. I mean, it was background noise for the most part. I was really clocking in for the black girl. I clocked in sometimes for Nick Cannon's baby mama. They also just had a reunion and it was. Yeah, yeah. The season overall was just. Because it's a. It's a 30 minute show and it's about them selling houses and arguing about not selling houses in between. Right. It's a lot of white drama. So I didn't really stick around for that. And so the black girl was only arguing with one this season. And she did her thing. Shout out to Chelsea. She's single now, but still bad. Still.
Dustin
I love looking at her. She's beautiful.
Asante
She's beautiful. She's. She has. She does like food videos where she just be sitting her house making food. Food and then eating. She's just. First of all, she talks really calmly on there and it's just nice to hear her talk. And it's good. It's lovely to see her cook and also enjoy the food. But I just love watching her read and I also like watching her beat because she's such a. Just a British. When she's a. She's a. But when she's doing something, she's doing something. Whether it's genuinely trying to let you know she's trying to be there for you or genuinely trying to read your ass. Like, I like that she stands. She stands 10 tones in all her feelings. Like even.
Dustin
This impressed. Because you know what? She real.
Asante
She real.
Dustin
Yeah, look.
Asante
So she had a friend on the show. She has two friends on the show, which I think she got. No, she likes to circle small. Chelsea has two friends on the show, Chrishell and Emma. Emma had a man this season. Chrishell did not with Emma's man because she felt like he was toxic. Most of the cast, I think just watching agreement, agreed Chelsea was also a close friend of Emma's and even Chelsea agreed that he was toxic. Now, Chelsea was nice to Emma throughout the whole season, but she also was saying, like, girl, you know, I don't really with him, but that's what you want to do. Do your thing, right? It was really good. They did show him. And he was. I mean, he was younger than Emma. Like, you know, Emma and them, they're all California, Beverly Hills pulled up. He was a Georgia rich white boy, allegedly maga. According to Chrishell, when she put out there there, which got them in trouble. So that's what's like, I don't really care about him.
Francesca
Expect differently, sorry to say.
Asante
Well, sorry to say, but also because Chelsea had met him. When Emma at one point was trying to get Chelsea to like, defend him on something, Chelsea was just like, oh, no, babes, I'm not defending him. That's one thing I'm not going to do. And I was like, she a real, you know, like, that's her friend. But she also said, you know, that's what you want to do, so I'm gonna support you. But I'm not defending that like, like, that's your girl. And also he allegedly, Chrishell was saying that Emma said that this man was using the nword. And then Chrishell was trying to say.
Dustin
That didn't happen, right?
Asante
So. So I was like, oh, well, Emma, girl, you need to choose differently. So then they was really trying to. They were really doing some things on the reunion. So I appreciated selling Sunset for really going there for the reunion. Even Bri clocked in for a minute, was going back and forth. She was like, I don't care if I'm Nick Canon, baby mama. I'mma still live my life and be a bad. And I can really. Because, you know, they were really tr. Well, Chelsea, you know, mainly was one of the black girl. She was the black girl on the show, but also she was coming for Nick Cannon, baby mama. And I ain't like that. But even though they don't get along, I still like that they are good they're great separate players. I will appreciate them. And they're.
Dustin
I heard Nick Cannon baby mama said she don't give a damn about him having them kids. She know what it is. And they in love.
Asante
Yeah. She don't.
Francesca
She don't defend him on the show. She still talk about him like he's her partner. Yeah. I'm like, wow.
Dustin
I respect that.
Asante
Whatever agreement they got, it works for them.
Francesca
It seems to work for them. Really.
Asante
And honestly, I have no problems with that. Like, if that works for y'. All. If y'.
Dustin
All.
Asante
If you feel like he's showing up and throwing it on you and also spending time with the kid and supporting enough. That's the concern. You say, what.
Dustin
What do you mean throwing it on you?
Asante
I mean, well, she has a baby by him, so what do you mean? You know what I mean.
Dustin
What is throwing it on.
Asante
You mean throw that P on her big P, apparently. So.
Francesca
I only like the houses.
Asante
Oh, yeah. So that's. That's a big thing too.
Francesca
The only reason I watch.
Asante
That's why I said it's a show about. It's a show about real estate, and then also a show about arguing out about real estate. So, like, there's one or two ways to watch it.
Francesca
Yeah.
Asante
So once you kind of see the house.
Dustin
House.
Asante
You can look away.
Dustin
You know who just got a beautiful new home. And shout out to them for this, too. Craig. Craig the writer Stewart, who's on Fag Talk with TS Madison, which is phag, which stands for Popular Hot Ass Gossipers Before y' all even start.
Francesca
Popular Hot Ass Gossip.
Dustin
Yeah. Fact Talk. That's what the show is called. And. But he just bought a new house. That house is gorgeous. He was. He did, like, a walkthrough on YouTube. Oh, my God.
Asante
Modern home.
Dustin
Ground up. Built gorgeous in Atlanta. And so. And I know that ain't no small feat. So shout out to Craig, because, you know, I love to see economy. I love to see a doing it. You know what I'm saying? So.
Asante
Yes.
Francesca
So excited.
Dustin
Shout out to him.
Francesca
I love seeing people buy beautiful houses. I'm like, let me see.
Dustin
That's so cool.
Francesca
Congratulations.
Dustin
Hell, yeah.
Asante
But that is one of the reasons to watch Selling Sunset because it's manifesting whatever new home I'm gonna get. Okay. Oh, they had Tyrese on this season, but we're not gonna get into that. I watched.
Francesca
I saw that episode. I was like, is this. Is this real?
Dustin
He was crying.
Francesca
He was so awkward.
Asante
He was not. Thank God.
Francesca
It was awkward. His boyfriend was Awkward. His daughter was sitting there like she didn't want to be there. I was like, what is this?
Asante
Yeah.
Dustin
Whole family just crying.
Asante
He just want.
Francesca
People felt very random.
Asante
He just wanted to. Crying. No, you know, they always.
Francesca
I don't think he even liked it.
Asante
Yeah, yeah. Now he said, he said it was too much of like a bachelor house anyway.
Francesca
Yeah, man, those houses are fire.
Asante
Those houses be nice as.
Dustin
Yeah.
Francesca
They make me confused though as a person because it speaks to two sides of me. It speaks to the side of me that like loves big expensive, materialist. You know, like it's like, oh my God. It makes you want to like work to the point where you can afford that comfortably. But then, then there's the other part of me that just wants a smaller ranch style home with some land, you know, and it's just like not all those things and all that upkeep and it just don't seem practical for a long time.
Dustin
Keep it up as long as I can.
Asante
You're gonna have to have staff for that house. But that's like any of them types of houses.
Francesca
It's not just the house. It's like the, the amount of how many years. Years you'd have to maintain that. It's a lot that goes into it. And I. And there's a part of me that's like who the wants to do that.
Asante
Right.
Francesca
Sustainable.
Dustin
That's. That's the thing. Facing that, facing that concept about shit. Right. Is what manhood looks like sometimes. Like, damn, this gotta be done.
Francesca
Just gotta.
Dustin
I gotta figure it out and do it.
Francesca
Yeah, yeah. And I get that too. But there's a part life for me.
Dustin
Ain't been no crystal staircase.
Asante
Okay.
Francesca
Same.
Asante
It don't mean I ain't gonna get one though.
Dustin
Exactly. That I'mma be sliding my foot across that floor in that beautiful modern home in LA at some point and have my place in New York. That's what it's going to.
Francesca
I love the indoor outdoor living room.
Dustin
I love. Oh God, I love all of it.

I love when they be struggling to open up some big ass doors. He was like, I'll give you $1,000 if you could open them sliding doors. And she ran over there to do that. And I was like, you know what? Like if I had a home like this, I would be blessed enough. Like, you know how. Like damn, this heavy ass. But I. Every day I bet this heavy ass.
Dustin
In a brand new white Nike sock walking across some floors.
Asante
Okay.
Dustin
Smoke weed outside.
Francesca
This is a buyer's market for sure. Because I'VE been looking at houses just to kind of see what the market is, what that would look like, and kind of getting familiar with acclimated. Absolutely. A buyer's market. But did y' all see Trump trying to push this 50 year mortgage?
Dustin
Mortgage. What the.
Francesca
And when you look at the interest.
Dustin
You end up paying so much more.
Francesca
800,000 plus dollars in interest alone. Like that blew my mind.
Dustin
And the, the metrics, the, the numbers that I saw reflected, I think it was a 290 difference or something like that. And what your mortgage would be with a 30 year versus a 50 year.
Francesca
Yeah.
Dustin
How the long do you think you got to work to pay off a 50 year mortgage? Mortgage.
Francesca
You wouldn't. You die before.
Dustin
What the hell. Like that ain't even, that don't even make no sense. That doesn't even make sense again. But why would anyone expect a financial, a, a financial decision suggested by him to make any scammer? Yeah, why would, why would it make sense?
Francesca
I would. If we have listeners that have made it this far into the show and you're a homeowner, I would love to hear your experience. If you feel comfortable leaving a comment, you can email me too. Because I just feel, I have to admit, I feel a little confused on what is the smartest thing to do because I have, I have really brilliant finance people that I speak to that are, that tell me different things. You know, you have people that are like, you should do it because X, Y and Z. And then you're telling, then you have people that are like, you should never get into the hole of a house. Like it's, it's just stupid financially. The interest you're paying, that money that you're paying, you could have in investments and be making money. So you're like working backwards, which also makes sense to me.
Asante
Yeah.
Francesca
And I hate that feeling of like, I don't want to make a decision of buying a house just because this, this idea we have in our head that it means something, that in actuality it does not.
Asante
No.
Francesca
And I see a lot of homeowners that I know personally that tell me do not buy a fund house because they are so regretful. They're underwater, their savings is depleted, there's always something to fix, taxes go up. Now you're paying more than you initially thought. You know what I mean? It's just a lot of additional variables cost that when people try to be like, oh well, you're paying rent, you're losing money. This is what my mortgage is in comparison to your rent. It's like, yes, but also these additional costs that I'm not paying, you know, they, they don't speak enough on those. And so I'm curious if we have listeners. I would just love to hear your thoughts. If you have felt that this was like a great decision, it's worked out, it makes sense. Or if you're on the opposite side of that and trying to get rid of your house.
Dustin
I just, I get the benefits. I've heard lots of benefits. I've heard horror stories too. I, I have friends purchase homes. Incredible, you know, perspectives and experiences that they reflect on, on. But I also think when, because some people will talk their home ownership to you, that home ownership to you, when they feel like, like we work in, we have different jobs, you know what I'm saying, than most people have or whatever. We have a non traditional career, you know.
Francesca
Right.
Dustin
We have experiences that people, you know, whatever. So sometimes people will try to, and I'm speaking to a specific group of people, sometimes they'll try to talk that to you like, well, you know, I just bought a house. You need to buy, buy something. You need to own something. And I always slap him in the face with a little excuse me, toots, because you know what? I got, I, I own ip, sweetie. So like I, I, you can get paid in perpetuity from different.
Francesca
Right.
Dustin
We own intellectual property. Okay.
Francesca
Right.
Dustin
So you go ahead with your deed. Okay. And you let me live over here. Now, if we want to have a conversation about the benefits of homeownership, that's different. But there's some shaming that goes on sometimes when it comes to renters versus versus homeowners.
Francesca
I know. Yeah.
Dustin
In fact, I'm gonna be an advocate about that. I'm speak out about that. As my platform grows, that's gonna, that's gonna be one of my, that's gonna be one of my agenda issues. You know what I'm saying? And it's all good, you know, it's all good. It's all good. We got a lot to be thankful for. I sit in a place of gratitude in his seat. I love this job and thank God. God, this is something that we built for the purpose of it doing exactly what it's doing now. And that is something that I will forever be grateful for. That was blood, sweat and tears.
Francesca
Literally being able to turn on your laptop, turn on a mic and a ring, light and sustain.
Dustin
I'm grateful to God, you know, that's why I don't even tripping. And I purposely stay out of Those comments because I. I don't ever want it to become. I'm grateful you listen. If you cussing me out in the comments.
Asante
Right.
Dustin
And you got something negative to say, say, yeah, I'm just glad you was here.
Francesca
I just don't want to know. For me, I don't.
Asante
My business.
Dustin
It's none of my business what you think. I don't even know. I would say you, but if you listening to the show. I don't. I'm not gonna say that.
Francesca
Well, it's a little you, but like, not a lot.
Dustin
But if I. If you weren't a listener, I would definitely look you in the. In your pupils and tell you. You. I would do that to you.
Asante
Right.
Dustin
But I keep it in perspective because you here. Yeah, right, right. I'm grateful and I say it. Every time I meet somebody from the show, I thank them because that. I mean that from my heart. I'm so grateful. I love what I do.
Francesca
I know I always feel so happy and how happy they feel to see us and it feels genuine, like the connection we have. So I'm thankful for those people. Thank you.
Asante
And you know what? Shout out to everybody. This is going to sound so terrible, but for everybody who comes up to me, no, this is.
Dustin
Don't.
Asante
Everybody who comes up and speaks. And we met before because I used to be really, really good about that. And then now that I've gotten so bad, people are like, that's okay. We know that you like. You say that every time. I'm like, okay, thank you. So, you know, it's real. Shout out to everybody that knows that when I'm talking to you, we like. Because I'm. I always ask people their names because there used to be a time where I could remember that, but now, child, I smoke so much a day. I do not remember people's names. I do not remember people that I remember.
Dustin
Good point to bring up because I'm a. That stands in it. You ain't gonna make me feel awkward telling me I forgot your name. I'll tell you. Damn. You know what I did. How you been, though? I bet I'm gonna remember next time.
Francesca
I love that.
Dustin
I just stand in it because, like, what you trying to. How you trying to make me feel, telling me I forgot who the you are? I did.
Asante
I did. Now do something memorable.
Dustin
Since we being honest. Since we being honest with each other.
Asante
Still not gonna remember. I'm so sorry.
Dustin
Don't be saying this to me, man. That'd be pissing me off. Sometimes there's A way to tell somebody. Like, if a person tells you, like, you don't even remember my name and y' all can laugh it off, that's different than a person say, right? You do this every time. You don't remember such and such. No, I don't.
Asante
Thank y' all fans again, because those types don't even meet me.
Dustin
Like, there are people talking to the people that listen. I'm talking about people in general.
Asante
Right, right, right, right. There are people that we have had, like, really good times with and I have forgot. But look, them laughs, them laughs, they stick forever. Just know that. Good people. So that's why we love y'. All and we love making y' all laugh.
Francesca
My heart. Don't worry about it.
Asante
Word up. Word. Look, y', all, we connected cuz y' all listen to the show. And so we had those moments. And so blessings to y' all for continuing to support us and listen to this show.
