Now, I don't know if you all have been keeping up or not with the Kardashians, but I was thinking it. Yeah, Kim Kardashian. It's really about them too. Ain't that a bitch? Oh, God. Kim Kardashian, recently, you know, for the past six years she's been working towards getting a law degree, Right? She was working as an apprentice in a law firm and then she was going to be able to take the bar that way as opposed to the traditional track of law school. And, and that's not a norm, that's not an abnormal thing. That's a real thing that people.

I didn't know you could do that.

[Asante]

I've heard of that before too.

[Dustin]

And so people have kind of lacked confidence in her commitment to her studies or even in her pursuit, really. They didn't know if it was just something for vanity, if she was really going to be working as a lawyer. You remember, for quite some time she was actively working with the current administration to release people from jail who, you know, have been falsely sentenced and, or now in prison. Falsely in prison. She, she had gotten several people part, a few people pardoned. She was working with that in criminal justice reform. She was really working in that space. So she just took the bar, right, and she failed. So, yeah. So she posted this following quote to her.

Well, no, because, you know, I said, wow. Well, you know, sometimes you hear people do stuff and then you hear like they did it and then like to hear that she felt like, I didn't expect that, especially a Kardashian to have admitted that, but, you know, I'm sorry, continue.

And her daddy, you know what I'm saying? You think about who her father was. Robert Kardashian, iconic attorney. So it will make sense. Well, this is what she posted to her Instagram story. She said, well, I'm not a lawyer yet. I just play a very well dressed one on tv. Sidebar. I love that show. I don't care what nobody say. All's fair is good. Moving on. She said, six years into this law journey and I am still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up, just more studying and even more determination. Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way. So far. Falling short isn't failure, it's fuel. I was so close to passing the exam and that only motivates me even more. Let's go. That's what she posted to us. Story right now. Another clip has recently surfaced where this was her take on her failure of the bar exam.

Well, and this is where I come into the conversation right now. If you are, everybody knows I ain't never heard nobody say they just went and took the bar and passed it. Everybody knows it requires, requires a relentless amount of discipline. You have to really be structured. You have to have a set schedule of study time. When you're literally cramming to pass the bar, you got to learn how to do that. Now, I don't really around with psychics and stuff. I respect the game, you know what I'm saying? Like, if that's what you do, cool. And you know, y' all know I have a tremendous amount of respect for people in their belief systems. Whatever they into, that's their thing, right? But I do know enough about psychics to know that ain't nobody doing no five minute reading. You know, you paying for at least a half hour to one hour, right? So she just said four of them failed her, right? So that's at least either two hours or four hours of her time that could have been better spent doing what?

Study.

Studying. You should have had your ass away from the crystal ball and carrying a Backpack. Yeah.

That's what you should have been doing outcome yourself. But your mother, the California bar too, from what I've heard, is like insanely hard, isn't it? I've always heard that, yes. Like harder places.

Yeah, because that's what you said would.

Make it seem like I actually need to put in more times more work. This is the state where it's not.

As easy, where they're not gonna around. I can't cut no corners here.

So while you sitting up and you know, she didn't just go see a psychic. Even if they came to the house, she said in glamorous. I'm willing to bet the farm on it. She said in Glam. That's three hours right there. Where was your book stand?

You ain't have a camera doing flashcards during glam. You're right.

[Dustin]

Where was them badass kids? Tablets. They probably didn't throw all them damn iPads and shit all over the house. Some kids, the youngest one is what, six now? Five, Something like that. So they probably got tablets strewn all across that mans that they living in. Why the fuck you ain't pick one of them up and got on Google, do your due diligence, Especially since your daddy was a goddamn lawyer, okay? On one of the most famous TR trials of all time and you didn't got these people. What was that woman? Alice. Her name was Alice. What was that lady name? She got out of jail. The black woman who went on to do hold a position in Donald Trump's no spice cabinet because you know he ain't got no seasoning.

She knows the lady that she helped get pardoned. Her name is Alice something. I can't think of her last name maybe. Alice Johnson. She got a position in Donald Trump's cabinet. Yeah, the black lady. And she's over like the Board of Pardons or something like that. Yeah.

Oh, my God, that's crazy.

No, I called it a no spice cabinet. Cause we all know he's bland, so there's that. But yes, that's what happened. But if you're gonna be doing all that, see, I ain't crazy.

I never heard of. Oh my goodness.

You gonna have your. And she's out. She's only able to hold that position because Kim Kardashian advocated on her being pardoned. She championed for her and led the charge with that. Which is a great thing to do, right? That's a great thing to do when people are deserving of the pardon. But the allegiance that that woman has now, you know, to Donald Trump because he was the president when she got pardoned, I think is silly. Yep. That they're her ass. Go right there. Alice McGree Johnson. Yup. Trump's borders are.

See, I remember the whole, like, blip of Kim Kardashian doing that legal stuff and then didn't really. You know, I don't really follow the Kardashians. Like, I just know that they're always everywhere, and I'm always clicking past them. Right. So fast forward to now. She's on this TV show as a lawyer. So I was like, okay, did she already, like, I'm. I wasn't sure if she had already become a lawyer, but I was like, it's funny that she was doing lawyer things and now she's on this lawyer show. And so to hear that, damn, she failed the bar. It would have been kind of cool. It would have been cool if this could have been like, a rollout. Like, oh, I did a TV show as a lawyer, and I am one. But, like, I like how she parlayed that into I just play a badass1 on TV or whatever she said. So that's cool.

I think the best rollout. Yes. I thoroughly enjoyed that show.

You're the only person I've heard say that it's good.

I like Ryan Murphy's shows anyway. Low key and so campy, and it just. It's enjoyable and fun to watch. And the show is actually shot beautifully. They're dressed very, very nice, so well.

Niecy Nash is in it. I love anything Niecy. I'm gonna watch anything Niecy Nash is in flat out. Tiana Taylor is in it. I love her.

I love Sarah Paulson. You know what I'm saying? I want to. I want to smoke weed with her and talk so bad. I think, honestly, I think me and Sarah Paulson would be great friends. I do. Because she seems funny, and I want to really get in her business about that lady that she's with, the older woman. I want to ask her why. I think that we would have a. You know. I do.

She would have looked great on there. I will say I've watched two, maybe three episodes because, what is it, four episodes out?

I have. Yeah, three. Three episodes out.

I think the fourth one just came out, probably, but I haven't watched it.

Cause. Oh, yeah, it is three. It is like the fourth episode. I just haven't watched it. I watched the first three. Jessica Simpson was on there. She did a really, really good job. I will say. Jessica Simpson, like, she.

She got down. I will. I was like, jessica Simpson. And she was doing her thing, like.

And she was wearing a prosthetic when she was on there.

Yeah, you gotta. If you watch any of it, I will say, like, that I did enjoy. I enjoy Sarah Paulson on there. And Niecy Nash is always someone you want to watch. So it's like, there are things that keep me there, but it's not.

Tell you the problem with the show. The problem with the show is that Kim Kardashian is not the greatest actor. I don't think she does, like, a, you know, awful job, but she's not good. And so moments where the line should be delivered with a little boy, and not only is she not the best performer, she's surrounded by goats.

Glenn, like, Naomi Watson's over here doing her shit, and then Niecy Nash know how to play with any and everybody, like, you know what I'm saying? And then you got Glenn toast coming up in this bitch. And then Sarah Paulson's always going to do some shit with Ryan Murphy. And then Kim Kardashian, it's like, so.

You can see the difference between the performance and the skill levels, and that can throw the viewers off a little bit. Plus, a lot of people hate Kim Kardashian anyway, so that coupled with a not so great performance, right? There's the conversation.

[Asante]

And I'm a Kim Kardashian, not hater. It's Kim Kardashian disassociator, right? But when I see her, it's like, I do try to give her chances, like, and she does have moments, but, like, they're very few and far in between. Like, it's really hard. Like, in a flashback moment, I felt like she. She was doing a really good job, but I was like, this is a flashback. It's going to be over. And it was. And it was like, damn. Like, there are little moments with her, but she just. I feel like if Kim Kardashian did some, like, serious, serious, I don't know what it would look like, but serious acting work. She got with that right coach or whoever and was like, you know what? I'm gonna really do this. She could do some shit.

She could.

But right now, seeing what I'm saying, Schedule, she has to clear that schedule. She has to ask the cameras to leave. She got to tell her mama, like, you know, take me off the books for six months. I don't know. Like, she has to do, like, a real intensive. And if she came out with some, it'd be like, damn, she coming for that. It's like she's trying to be on her Charlize Theron right now. Like, you know.

Like, this series, this being a television series means that she acted a lot. It's a lot more work than just shooting a movie. And, you know, practice makes perfect or at least a little bit better. And so, like, I'm sure it'll get renewed for a second season because even though the critics panned it, the viewership is high. I think it was the highest debut for a scripted show on Hulu. Of all time.

Yeah, of all time. I mean, but also, when you consider the actors.

[Asante]

Yeah, you got the cast. It's a Ryan Murphy production. And then it looks really good too. So you're watching. It's pleasing to the eye. It's like, it's an easy watch. It's not like, hard, like, it's not gross or anything like that. It's just really crazy. But when I watch it, it's.

[Dustin]

Somebody put this into perspective for me. It feels like I'm watching Single Ladies. I don't know if you remember that show on VH1, but Single Ladies was a show on VH1. It had like, a really, like, dreamy filter to it, but it was supposed to be like a, a, almost a soap opera, ish type, like, romantic style. And I feel like this show because it's so, like, woman power. It's like women this, and we're like women wearing beautiful power suits. And then we're also, you know, helping each other. And, oh, she's got this big bang jewelry. It's like, I don't know, some of it is very, like, luxury, but it's still campy. So it's kind of hard to play those different worlds for me.

No. Well, I did. I watched the first couple seasons, but then obviously it started losing me a little.

He's like, all right, too much.

[Dustin]

Yeah.

And then I watched. Didn't he do Versace?

[Asante]

Yeah, I think. Yep.

Yep, I watched that and that was good. And so it's in the. You know, it's like.

I enjoy that. I enjoy his style. I enjoy his work. And.

Oh, and the Menendez brothers.

[Dustin]

Absolutely.

[Francesca]

I did see that too, which was.

[Dustin]

And the new normal. I watched that on NBC with Nene when Nene was on there. It was one season on NBC about the gay dads. There was a gay couple and Nene worked with them. It was so good. And you know what? If it's on Peacock, you need to watch it because you would actually crack up. Have you ever seen that video clip of Nini reciting that Nicki Minaj verse at that wedding? And she be like, I love Nicki Minaj when she walks in. That's from the show. It was so funny. And Nene actually was incredibly good on this.

She was perfectly placed.

She was so fucking good on the.

New, like, that type of comedy.

But I say all that to say I enjoyed all sphere and I think everybody need to give it a chance. It's good.

But in the first episode, you felt she didn't like him.

Made you feel that way? Because the only thing I caught was. Well, she was saying certain things that I didn't. It didn't make me feel she didn't like him, but it made me feel that she was, like, already kind of taking notes, you know what I mean? Because he was saying stuff. She was like, oh, he's a nice guy, you know? And he's shown himself to be really patient with her, and there's just a disconnect.

Well, apparently there's a construction plan out here to move the airport like little by little because it's not close.

Well, instead of building a. Because I was reading about this because y' all know we had to vote last week and so part of the vote was some of that money going towards transportation out here. And so it passed. And so they were saying part of that is going to be going to buses, trains, the whole nine. But there was a conversation happening about how there's not a terminal or there's not access for to public transportation from the airport. It's not easily accessible. So why not build transportation to the airport? But apparently there's a plan to slowly inch the airport closer to transportation, but still not there, I think. But I don't know, apparently those plans might change. I was like this is kind of crazy. But even right now is a crazy time with the government shut down everything travel is a bitch. So everybody please travel safely. I say that because Mandy was in New York recently. Her flight to Atlanta got canceled. She ended up getting a flight To Charlotte. Her flights got canceled. She almost ended up staying with me, and then she ended up making it back home.

But, oh, that's my fear. Cause I'm traveling for the holidays specifically, and I'm kind of dreading it because it's already fucked. And that's just now. So imagine what they say is the biggest traveling day, few days, I should say, of the year. I'm like, God, I hate to be in that number.

I want to go to Nashville to see Claude, because I haven't. I still haven't seen his new house, which is ridiculous. I want to stay there for the weekend. And then I wanted to go to Oakland to spend some time with Haas and my best friend and.

I know. And so that's my time to really take those trips. Because that's when we're on break, right? But now with this, it makes me reconsider because I'm like, God, how would all those trips work? I don't know. But, I mean, you just gotta deal with it, I guess. There's no way around it, right? Not gonna also stay home and just not do. Just because they're with us. So I really don't know.

I'm praying. And I just think it is so gross that they have politicized everything that they possibly can to the detriment of us. The US My fellow American. I'm so. I am. I am so sick of that. Personally. We feel it. It's touching us every single day, more and more. We're being touched and poked and pushed by these political agendas.

Imagine going to work and not getting paid and not just going to work, but in these capacities where you have to deal with so much, like the air traffic control, like, and where people were.

People were work. You have to go to work, not get paid. If you decide not to go to work, you're gonna get fired if you go to work. Some of those days that you're already not getting paid because they're cutting. Because I saw a video. I didn't watch the whole thing or I didn't hear the whole thing, rather, but it was A flight attendant explaining some of the cuts, saying, you know, the airline industry is cut 10 across the board and how the flights are getting cut, you know, on a daily basis. So imagine you show up for work. It's not like working in a restaurant where you get cash in hand on the day. Like they're working just under the guys up. You know, I'm gonna get paid one day maybe. Right. So imagine you go to work thinking like, all right, well, hopefully this is gonna add to that check I'm waiting on. Hopefully. Well, actually, you're part of the 10 today. You're not getting paid. Sorry, go home. Like, I got a family to feed. Like, this ain't no.

And you're already dealing with a lot. A higher volume of disgruntled people because of all this. So not only are you not getting paid, but you're taking more than usual at the same time. That's a lot.

So Don Juan, he's from North Carolina, so it makes sense, you know what I'm saying? Yeah. So it just feels good to be able to. You know what I'm saying? He a young black man doing his thing. I am. You know what I'm saying? It feels good to be able to like, do that together. So I'm really excited about that. But the show, I just wanted to alert people who are listening and have either purchased ticket or tickets or are planning on. Right. It's a time change. Move to 3pm, but. So I am traveling this month, but not until the 30th, which is Thanksgiving weekend. And then on December, I'm on the road.

I used to love flying either Atlanta or Charlotte because it was always so quick. Especially Charlotte. Oh my God, what's that? Like an hour and a half from New York? It's so quick.

I was thinking about Atlanta, how even though that is big as hell and some of those, if you don't take the little air train, if you take the corridors to each. What is that damn terminal? Yeah. There used to be like all that art down there and how I would see that and be like, damn, this would be cool if I didn't have to rush down this. Because air tram was packed.

Like that airport gives me anxiety. It's just too much going on. But I do love the food options. Y' all got the best food options.

Here you can get coffee and then they have the shop that sells those water bottles that says Portland or like a Scully or like a fleece. Of course, they just want to get you ready to go on a hike. As you leave the airport.

Yeah. But I. Yeah. Pray for all of us traveling. Lord, I just hope it's.

Pray for everyone traveling. Pray for everyone working in the government really. But you know, airline industries especially because damn, like I know that the people working there. Look, TSA people always say they already got attitude. So definitely can't imagine the type of.

The A is for attitude. That's what they said it's for.

Didn't the, didn't they come to a resolution? Even if it wasn't a resolution we wanted. But they came to one right. Where it's no longer shut down or in the process of being reopened. So even though we're unhappy with the results, but at least I'm glad the federal workers are gonna get their money back.

But fuck them 8 ho ass democrats.

It's so against that for me to have to look at one year old babies being pepper sprayed, women being thrown down on the ground and handcuffed. And the way these are executing this mass deportation is some of the most disgusting that I have ever seen. And as a man, you know what I'm saying, It's hard for me to look at that and not physically be able to help or do nothing.

You know, this is why would be quitting their jobs and uprooting their lives and going to work on missions and because you become passionate about a cause and you literally want to be able to help, somebody needs to do something about the way that they are doing this mass deportation. People can have, they can have their POVs on immigration issues and what needs to be fixed and all of the conversations that are necessary. But that Ain't right.

I don't give a what. Nobody says that it's not okay to separate families. Uproot these people's. Literally destroy these people's lives. And mind you, they're going to get these people while they're at work. So these are not no criminals.

Daycares and pretty schools and elementary schools. You know what I gotta give it to out here they have created like a neighborhood newsletters which is so genius where whenever there's sightings like they're putting together sightings. Yeah, it's kind of like the citizens app, I guess. But there's. They've created an alert system out here. And so what happens now? If anyone sees them near your school, all the people in of that particular neighborhood will go to the school and create a human chain around the school so that when the kids are coming out they, you know, they get in the way. Like they're putting their bodies and interfering.

What? Like because. Thank God for them because that's a scary position to be in, right? You don't know if you're going to get shot. Let's be real here. You don't know if you're going to get maimed. Like you really don't know where it's going to get taken to. But they're still doing it. And I just think that's so live and I even me having to see the ICE agents out here, I hate how it makes me feel.

Yeah, I don't like that shit. I've seen them this, I've seen them three times already. And one time it actually made my heart drop because I was going on my walk. Just so crazy, right? I couldn't see but I could hear it like as. As I had turned. So I got home and because it was dark out too, I was like, let me get my ass home. So I go to look to see if you know what that was, you know, on the next door app you can see if something happened in particular. Black block ICE had taken three people just right there. Just like that. That's so crazy to me. That's so crazy to me.

Literally just all them people that them dirty ass. You a dirty piece of. If you're taking Those jobs and executing those missions. You're a horrible person and you can be bought and you have no integrity people.

And the amount of Latin men that I've seen that I'm like through them.

That's why they get a thrill out of. Of it. The thrill and the excitement that they're getting is not from completing some pious mission, some, some. Some rightful thing. It's a power dynamic and it's a. Through, you know, there's an attraction to, To. To overpowering a human being to the point of submission and, and to the point of, you know, that you're changing, you're ruining their lives. And you're doing that to message something to a group of people or message something. Something based on whatever experiences that you've had. You know what you're doing is wrong, you know.

Because even if you believe it's right, you believe it's right because of something wrong, some wrong feeling that you know is bad and that you, you were not emboldened to be so blatant and obvious with. But I just really hate. I hate seeing that. I hate seeing that when it's. When it's kids. But I saw a video clip on the Neighborhood Talk where these women were jumping up in a courtroom celebrating a victory. And it said that a tiktoker named Bernee was ordered to pay $1.75 million to somebody's wife who. Yes, this just happened, like today one. That's when I was like, hold on, let me deep dive into this. And I was like, whoa, whoa, my.

[Francesca]

And I saw people say. And I saw people saying that the biggest part is whether or not she's going to get a social media ban, which apparently is a thing they can. The courts can ban you. Y' all remember that girl that got online and was saying that someone hit.

Her on the face with a brick.

[Francesca]

And she had that Big.

Yep.

[Francesca]

She has a 10 year social media.

[Asante]

I did see that.

[Francesca]

I was like, I didn't even know that was a thing.

[Dustin]

That's a good thing.

That is a good thing. I was happy. I was happy to hear that. But at the same time, I didn't know it was a thing either. And so I saw it. I was like, damn.

When I tell you you can't get on Instagram, that's fucking crazy.

Like, how do they even track that? Like, damn, that's cool. But also scary crazy.

[Dustin]

Yeah, well.

[Francesca]

And so people are saying that if this happens to her, considering, you know, all this is, that's her way of making money, like content creation and that would be crazy.

Yep. She don't have to be a producer and get behind some other creators and help their pages. Just figure out another way. Blue Cantrell. I'll find a way. She'll figure it out.

[Francesca]

This is interesting just because it was a lot of things that I legit didn't know you could take to the courts. Like so.

Also, there's another video that I saw that I want to talk about on our show too. And I'm gonna do a show, another episode about this. Well, this is essentially a survey for our audience. So if you watch the Chasing Reality shows, for those who don't know, if you go to YouTube and search Chasing Reality, it's a YouTube account that has original programming that is shot the same way. Like, reality shows on television are about local personalities in different cities. They have Chasing Atlanta, they have Chasing Orlando, they have Chasing Dallas, they have Chasing la. These are shows they had expanded.

Yes.

[Dustin]

And shout out to Andre from Chasing la. I met him in. In the bar in New York. Hey, Lamb, that's fire. I ran into him and he was so nice and so cool. And also shout out to Quentin Harris too, one of the producers of Chasing la. But they had a. They had an announcement for the season seven cast of Chasing Atlanta and the show had been on pause. Season six was supposed to be the end. They called it Chasing Atlanta Forever. And then there was like some issues between cast and production and I think kind of made it difficult to continue as it was. And so they reformatted the show and rebooted it only brought back two cast members from the other season. It's all new cast members and one of them is my friend. There's a new cast member on the show named Carl and he goes by K Star. I've been knowing Carl. Carl. I've been knowing him since Michigan. We've been friends for years. And so when I saw he was.

[Asante]

Going to be on there, I was.

[Dustin]

Cracking up because he had. Has a huge personality and people that are familiar with him will know exactly what I'm talking about. Carl is always in some on the Internet. That's just, you know him. I love him. That's been my bro for years. So I was happy to see him on there. So for those that partake, now back to what we was talking about. Which was what? Asante, where were we?

[Asante]

Oh, damn. I was supposed to hold that baton.

[Dustin]

Yeah, well, wherever we were. Oh, the second thing that we're going to talk about, right?

[Asante]

Yeah, yeah.

[Dustin]

So I also saw a video where there was this black woman in Michigan. She was a scientist and she was studying the way that wildlife in Michigan, in Detroit specifically, is interacting with the urban world around it, right. She had all these cameras set up in like forests and parks in the city, in Detroit overnight, where she would record like the interactions of wildlife. Coyotes. There's a large coyote population in Detroit now. Skunks and shit. Just all these wild animals that. That are mixing and mingling with these urban developments that people really don't see. It was fascinating. And it was a black woman that was coming up with all these experiments. She's a scientist. I don't have her name now, but we're going to talk about that too because. And seeing some of the videos, the way them coyotes was chasing people's cats and shit on their floor at night, you know what I'm saying? We were in the house, sleep and you know, you might have a cat that you let stay outside overnight. Whatever they terrorizing pets at nighttime. There's pictures of them with skunk with something in his damn mouth and like they've been these animals up and it was. It ain't funny, but it was funny because out of Dodge.

[Francesca]

In the daytime, the night time, we seeing hella coyotes.

[Dustin]

So we're gonna talk about that too.

[Francesca]

I like that. I'm down some new.

[Francesca]

And it's crazy because we're almost done with the year. I was looking at the calendar just to kind of see, like, you know, what I have in mind for the next month. And I was like, oh, my God, we literally only have like a month. What? Maybe a little five weeks. Five, six weeks left in friend zone.

[Dustin]

And you have 30 minutes.

[Asante]

30 minutes.

[Francesca]

Which is so nuts. But, yeah, another fabulous year that we're closing out strong. Is there anything else you guys want to let the audience know before we get up out of here?

[Dustin]

Not for me. Not this week. What about you, Tay?

I watched all of the reunions of everything possible because I had just caught up on the Love is Blonde reunion. I did not watch that.

[Dustin]

Oh, they had it. What are going. Did Edmond cuss that girl out?

[Asante]

No, you know, I actually. So the reunion was about an hour and a half. About Right when they got to Edmond and Calabria, I fell off. I was like, damn. I didn't think I was gonna not watch the black people, but.

[Francesca]

Cause they last.

[Asante]

Yeah. And I was. I just didn't like the reunion. But also I didn't really like the season, so. Yeah, could have had a V8, but I did watch Selling Sunset Friend. You're absolutely right. It was not. I mean, it was background noise for the most part. I was really clocking in for the black girl. I clocked in sometimes for Nick Cannon's baby mama. They also just had a reunion and it was. Yeah, yeah. The season overall was just. Because it's a. It's a 30 minute show and it's about them selling houses and arguing about not selling houses in between. Right. It's a lot of white drama. So I didn't really stick around for that. And so the black girl was only arguing with one this season. And she did her thing. Shout out to Chelsea. She's single now, but still bad. Still.

[Dustin]

I love looking at her. She's beautiful.

[Asante]

She's beautiful. She's. She has. She does like food videos where she just be sitting her house making food. Food and then eating. She's just. First of all, she talks really calmly on there and it's just nice to hear her talk. And it's good. It's lovely to see her cook and also enjoy the food. But I just love watching her read and I also like watching her beat because she's such a. Just a British. When she's a. She's a. But when she's doing something, she's doing something. Whether it's genuinely trying to let you know she's trying to be there for you or genuinely trying to read your ass. Like, I like that she stands. She stands 10 tones in all her feelings. Like even.

[Dustin]

This impressed. Because you know what? She real.

[Asante]

Yeah, look.

[Asante]

So she had a friend on the show. She has two friends on the show, which I think she got. No, she likes to circle small. Chelsea has two friends on the show, Chrishell and Emma. Emma had a man this season. Chrishell did not with Emma's man because she felt like he was toxic. Most of the cast, I think just watching agreement, agreed Chelsea was also a close friend of Emma's and even Chelsea agreed that he was toxic. Now, Chelsea was nice to Emma throughout the whole season, but she also was saying, like, girl, you know, I don't really with him, but that's what you want to do. Do your thing, right? It was really good. They did show him. And he was. I mean, he was younger than Emma. Like, you know, Emma and them, they're all California, Beverly Hills pulled up. He was a Georgia rich white boy, allegedly maga. According to Chrishell, when she put out there there, which got them in trouble. So that's what's like, I don't really care about him.

[Francesca]

Expect differently, sorry to say.

[Asante]

Well, sorry to say, but also because Chelsea had met him. When Emma at one point was trying to get Chelsea to like, defend him on something, Chelsea was just like, oh, no, babes, I'm not defending him. That's one thing I'm not going to do. And I was like, she a real, you know, like, that's her friend. But she also said, you know, that's what you want to do, so I'm gonna support you. But I'm not defending that like, like, that's your girl. And also he allegedly, Chrishell was saying that Emma said that this man was using the nword. And then Chrishell was trying to say.

[Dustin]

That didn't happen, right?

[Asante]

So. So I was like, oh, well, Emma, girl, you need to choose differently. So then they was really trying to. They were really doing some things on the reunion. So I appreciated selling Sunset for really going there for the reunion. Even Bri clocked in for a minute, was going back and forth. She was like, I don't care if I'm Nick Canon, baby mama. I'mma still live my life and be a bad. And I can really. Because, you know, they were really tr. Well, Chelsea, you know, mainly was one of the black girl. She was the black girl on the show, but also she was coming for Nick Cannon, baby mama. And I ain't like that. But even though they don't get along, I still like that they are good they're great separate players. I will appreciate them. And they're.

[Dustin]

I heard Nick Cannon baby mama said she don't give a damn about him having them kids. She know what it is. And they in love.

[Asante]

Yeah. She don't.

[Francesca]

She don't defend him on the show. She still talk about him like he's her partner. Yeah. I'm like, wow.

[Dustin]

I respect that.

[Asante]

Whatever agreement they got, it works for them.

[Francesca]

It seems to work for them. Really.

And honestly, I have no problems with that. Like, if that works for y'. All. If y'.

[Dustin]

If you feel like he's showing up and throwing it on you and also spending time with the kid and supporting enough. That's the concern. You say, what.

I mean, well, she has a baby by him, so what do you mean? You know what I mean.

That's why I said it's a show about. It's a show about real estate, and then also a show about arguing out about real estate. So, like, there's one or two ways to watch it.

But that is one of the reasons to watch Selling Sunset because it's manifesting whatever new home I'm gonna get. Okay. Oh, they had Tyrese on this season, but we're not gonna get into that. I watched.

I saw that episode. I was like, is this. Is this real?

He was crying.

[Francesca]

He was so awkward.

[Asante]

He was not. Thank God.

[Francesca]

It was awkward. His boyfriend was Awkward. His daughter was sitting there like she didn't want to be there. I was like, what is this?

[Asante]

Yeah.

[Dustin]

Whole family just crying.

[Asante]

He just want.

[Francesca]

People felt very random.

[Asante]

He just wanted to. Crying. No, you know, they always.

[Francesca]

I don't think he even liked it.

[Asante]

Yeah, yeah. Now he said, he said it was too much of like a bachelor house anyway.

[Francesca]

Yeah, man, those houses are fire.

[Asante]

Those houses be nice as.

[Dustin]

Yeah.

[Francesca]

They make me confused though as a person because it speaks to two sides of me. It speaks to the side of me that like loves big expensive, materialist. You know, like it's like, oh my God. It makes you want to like work to the point where you can afford that comfortably. But then, then there's the other part of me that just wants a smaller ranch style home with some land, you know, and it's just like not all those things and all that upkeep and it just don't seem practical for a long time.

[Dustin]

Keep it up as long as I can.

[Asante]

You're gonna have to have staff for that house. But that's like any of them types of houses.

[Francesca]

It's not just the house. It's like the, the amount of how many years. Years you'd have to maintain that. It's a lot that goes into it. And I. And there's a part of me that's like who the wants to do that.

[Asante]

Right.

[Francesca]

Sustainable.

[Dustin]

That's. That's the thing. Facing that, facing that concept about shit. Right. Is what manhood looks like sometimes. Like, damn, this gotta be done.

[Francesca]

Just gotta.

[Dustin]

I gotta figure it out and do it.

[Francesca]

Yeah, yeah. And I get that too. But there's a part life for me.

[Dustin]

Ain't been no crystal staircase.

Exactly. That I'mma be sliding my foot across that floor in that beautiful modern home in LA at some point and have my place in New York. That's what it's going to.

I love the indoor outdoor living room.

I love. Oh God, I love all of it.

I love when they be struggling to open up some big ass doors. He was like, I'll give you $1,000 if you could open them sliding doors. And she ran over there to do that. And I was like, you know what? Like if I had a home like this, I would be blessed enough. Like, you know how. Like damn, this heavy ass. But I. Every day I bet this heavy ass.

[Dustin]

In a brand new white Nike sock walking across some floors.

[Asante]

Okay.

[Dustin]

Smoke weed outside.

[Francesca]

This is a buyer's market for sure. Because I'VE been looking at houses just to kind of see what the market is, what that would look like, and kind of getting familiar with acclimated. Absolutely. A buyer's market. But did y' all see Trump trying to push this 50 year mortgage?

[Dustin]

Mortgage. What the.

[Francesca]

And when you look at the interest.

[Dustin]

You end up paying so much more.

[Francesca]

800,000 plus dollars in interest alone. Like that blew my mind.

[Dustin]

And the, the metrics, the, the numbers that I saw reflected, I think it was a 290 difference or something like that. And what your mortgage would be with a 30 year versus a 50 year.

[Francesca]

Yeah.

[Dustin]

How the long do you think you got to work to pay off a 50 year mortgage? Mortgage.

[Francesca]

You wouldn't. You die before.

[Dustin]

What the hell. Like that ain't even, that don't even make no sense. That doesn't even make sense again. But why would anyone expect a financial, a, a financial decision suggested by him to make any scammer? Yeah, why would, why would it make sense?

[Francesca]

Like it's, it's just stupid financially. The interest you're paying, that money that you're paying, you could have in investments and be making money. So you're like working backwards, which also makes sense to me.

And I hate that feeling of like, I don't want to make a decision of buying a house just because this, this idea we have in our head that it means something, that in actuality it does not.

[Asante]

No.

[Francesca]

And I see a lot of homeowners that I know personally that tell me do not buy a fund house because they are so regretful. They're underwater, their savings is depleted, there's always something to fix, taxes go up. Now you're paying more than you initially thought. You know what I mean? It's just a lot of additional variables cost that when people try to be like, oh well, you're paying rent, you're losing money. This is what my mortgage is in comparison to your rent. It's like, yes, but also these additional costs that I'm not paying, you know, they, they don't speak enough on those. And so I'm curious if we have listeners. I would just love to hear your thoughts. If you have felt that this was like a great decision, it's worked out, it makes sense. Or if you're on the opposite side of that and trying to get rid of your house.

[Dustin]

I just, I get the benefits. I've heard lots of benefits. I've heard horror stories too. I, I have friends purchase homes. Incredible, you know, perspectives and experiences that they reflect on, on. But I also think when, because some people will talk their home ownership to you, that home ownership to you, when they feel like, like we work in, we have different jobs, you know what I'm saying, than most people have or whatever. We have a non traditional career, you know.

[Francesca]

Right.

[Dustin]

We have experiences that people, you know, whatever. So sometimes people will try to, and I'm speaking to a specific group of people, sometimes they'll try to talk that to you like, well, you know, I just bought a house. You need to buy, buy something. You need to own something. And I always slap him in the face with a little excuse me, toots, because you know what? I got, I, I own ip, sweetie. So like I, I, you can get paid in perpetuity from different.

[Francesca]

Right.

[Dustin]

We own intellectual property. Okay.

[Francesca]

Right.

[Dustin]

So you go ahead with your deed. Okay. And you let me live over here. Now, if we want to have a conversation about the benefits of homeownership, that's different. But there's some shaming that goes on sometimes when it comes to renters versus versus homeowners.

[Francesca]

I know. Yeah.

[Dustin]

In fact, I'm gonna be an advocate about that. I'm speak out about that. As my platform grows, that's gonna, that's gonna be one of my, that's gonna be one of my agenda issues. You know what I'm saying? And it's all good, you know, it's all good. It's all good. We got a lot to be thankful for. I sit in a place of gratitude in his seat. I love this job and thank God. God, this is something that we built for the purpose of it doing exactly what it's doing now. And that is something that I will forever be grateful for. That was blood, sweat and tears.
