Hi, it's Nora McInerney and we are heading into season four of the Head Start. Embracing the journey. For the past three seasons, we've been sitting down with real people living with chronic migraine and listening to their stories. Stories that help us all better understand what it's like to live with this condition. And for me, this has been very personal because I've seen what chronic migraine can do to the people you love, including my father and my big sister Megan, who joined us last season and reminded me how impactful it can be when someone takes the time to understand someone else's struggle.
D
I think anytime someone takes time to understand something that doesn't directly affect them, I think that's a beautiful thing. It builds empathy and connection and relationships, and that's ultimately what's going to get us all through.
C
We'll also hear from friends we met in our very first season. Like Priya, an incredibly talented artist who found a way to turn her struggle into something meaningful.
E
Dealing with chronic migraines can be a very isolating, lonely experience. Before I started painting, I would be in bed feeling more and more sorry for myself. So for me, finding this creative way of handling what I'm dealing with is what worked for me.
C
And we'll check back in with Qasem, who spoke openly about breaking stigma and creating space for more men of color to feel seen and included in the chronic migraine conversation.
F
I'm determined to amplify and broaden this conversation. I think if the commercial imagery and the commercial representation around this disease becomes more inclusive, then I think that that will create a safe lane for more conversations about chronic migraine.
C
Like always, we'll keep exploring chronic migraine from different perspectives, but what always stays the same is the shared thread of resilience, connection, and the reminder that people living with this condition want to feel understood. And as always, we'll be joined by the wonderful Dr. Christopher Rhine. So please join us for season four of the Head Start embracing the journey. You can subscribe, listen, and catch up on previous episodes on the iHeartRadio app or wherever you get your podcasts. This show is brought to you in partnership with AbbVie.
