My son was fully functioning and met all his milestones. He was doing really well. He walked early, he crawled early. He did everything on time, if not early. And then I took him in 18 months. That time he received his MMR and Versella vaccines. And within 24 hours, my son broke out. And what they told me was a full body rash. You know, all I ever heard from the pediatrician was, this is normal. It's a normal reaction. It's a little rash. And over the next three to six months, I started to see my son lose any and all speech that he had a lot of motor skills. So my son could no longer climb. He couldn't jump off two feet. Pediatrician, is it possible my son could have autism? She looks at him and she's like, no, kids with autism don't do pretend play. And I'm here to tell any parent who is listening that a pediatrician is not educated to give a diagnosis of autism.

You eat clean, you train hard, you sleep well. But if the air you breathe is toxic, none of it matters. You take around 20,000 breaths a day. Each one delivers oxygen or pollution straight into your bloodstream. Most homes carry mold spores, VOCs, wildfire smoke, and microscopic particles small enough to slip past ordinary filters. Once they're in your body, they trigger inflammation, stress your mitochondria, and drain your resources long before you even feel it. That's why I use Air Doctor. Its ultra HEPA filter traps particles down to 0.003 microns. That's a hundred times smaller than what standard HEPA filters catch. Built in sensors track your air quality in real time and adjust automatically when your environment changes. Plus, it's sleek and quiet. Clean air isn't optional. If you want to perform at your best when your air is clean, everything works better. It's why I have an Air Doctor in every room in my house and in my office. It's that important. Go to airdoctorpro.com daveasprey to breathe like it actually matters, because it does. Your brain is probably underperforming right now. No judgment. Most brains are. In fact, you're probably not thinking as clearly, sleeping as deeply, or performing as

well as you could be.

You might have heard me talk about having Asperger's syndrome, which is a form of autism, and how I don't have it anymore. And when I say that, some people get really upset. You can't do that. Like, well, I just did. Sorry. And for me, reversing that as an adult, it was 10 years of work. And it involved fixing biology, fixing mitochondria, relearning how to see, how to move my tongue, how to walk, how to hear. It was a lot. And there are some gifts that come from having a brain that evolves with very different bioenergetics than most people evolve with. And if you wonder why I can do some of the things I can do and hold the amount of information I do, I'm pretty sure that that was the gift that came with it. But it also comes with unimaginable health things, pain, suffering, because stuff just doesn't work right. And I've been interested in the autism field because, oh, sometime in the late 90s, my grandmother, who was a PhD nuclear engineer and very clearly on the spectrum, came across an article about it with a test, and she tested all of her kids, and all but one were on the spectrum. And of course, I was, too. And it was this thing that explained so much in my life. And it also was sort of, why didn't someone tell me? And why didn't we do something about this? And since that time, awareness of autism has exploded because autism has exploded. And my conclusion has been there isn't just one cause of autism, but there's a recipe, and we know what it is. So there have been people working behind the scenes, quite often moms, who are saying, I'm not going to let this happen to my kids. There has to be something I can do. And they've gone to the ends of the earth. And I've worked with various nonprofits in the space, even briefly in my 20s, set up a foundation to Fund autism research because I think it's so important. And I don't talk about a lot on the show, but some of the lessons for getting your health back come from my own journey of fixing stuff that's not supposed to be fixable. And that was just one of the many health things I dealt with. So our guest today is a hero, and she's someone who wrote a book called Warrior Mom. In fact, it's right here. War your mom, A mother's journey in healing her son with autism. And not only that, she runs a huge conference on autism. And if you are on the spectrum, and I'll just tell you, if you're an engineer, the odds are high. Or an entrepreneur, the odds are 50. 50. But I'll just say that there's knowledge in this episode for everyone. If you're wondering why autism's happening and can you actually do something about it, this is going to be a master class for you. So, Tracy, welcome to the show.
Tracy
Thank you for having me.
Dave Asprey
Now, I have to ask you this. What causes autism?
Tracy
So in my world, what we say is the. You were speaking earlier about genetics. Is the pre genetics, like mthfr, mitochondrial disorder, those things that, that predispose these kids to either vaccine injury, oxidative stress, glyphosate. There's a number of things I could. The long list, the crap that's in food, the stuff that they spray over
Dave Asprey
your head, heavy metals, toxic mold. All of it. Right?
Tracy
All of it. It's a recipe of disaster. And when we say, as a body of individuals that believe in biomedical intervention, is that it's biological and so do the pre genetics load the gun? Yes. And you have all these different combination of environmental factors that pull the trigger.
Dave Asprey
That is such a good description. And when it's that complex, it allows people to say, oh, it's not real, or this didn't do that. And the truth is that there were hundreds of variables that went into it. But let's not do things that cause provable harm and do them to everyone because some people are more susceptible than others. One of the big issues is around glutathione production and glutathione, as you know, if you've listened to the show for, I don't know, the last 15 years or something, it is one of the first detoxing compounds along with activated charcoal that I brought into the biohacking movement and into longevity. But it just so happens that activated charcoal soaks up many of the toxins, including mold, some metals, and gut toxins that directly contribute to autism symptoms. And glutathione is what the liver uses to get rid of the toxins. So I know I don't make glutathione very well. So when I take glutathione, my system works better. And I can fly around the world
Announcer
75% of the time.
Dave Asprey
And my brain works better than most people. Holy crap. I come from a non functioning brain world. And we also know genetically, some people turn casein milk protein or gluten into morphine analogs. Case you morphine and gluteomorphine. I have that you give me, especially American wheat with glyphosate, I am unable to function. And cow, dairy, even a little bit of it, especially the powdered and processed stuff. You don't have to tell me it's in the food because when I eat it and I cannot stay awake with sugar, espresso, modafinil, cortisol, nicotine, nothing works. I am disabled. I can tell you straight up what I got. Yeah, that was what milk protein does for me. So does that mean that milk protein is bad for everyone? No, but it means that if you have the predisposition, then you should know that. And with autistic kids, most of them want to eat macaroni and cheese all the time because morphine's addictive.
Tracy
Okay. I do have to state this. You could disagree that when parents come to me and they're like, well, the only thing that my kid will eat is pizza and chicken nuggets, that's because you're feeding it to them. But yes, they are addicted. No. And you are, absolutely. You're 100% right. And I'm so on board with that. But then we have to do our best as parents to turn around these picky eaters. And if we just. And I'm here to say this is the number one thing, if you want to take something away, if you're an autism parent, there are a lot of different treatments and therapies, and I'm pro for most of them. Okay. But if you do not lay a foundation of healing the gut first, the chances of those treatments and therapies working is going to be. They're going to be less effective. But if you lay the foundation, your gut is connected to your brain via your nervous system. But if you lay the foundation, you clean the gut, you heal the body, and ultimately you heal the brain, then it opens a beautiful door for other types of treatments and therapies. Stem cell therapy. I took note of the Ukraine for stem cell therapy. But there was a protocol back then. There isn't a protocol anymore. Dr. Bradstreet had a protocol. Heal the gut, boost the immune system. We used GC MAF back then. And then go for stem cell therapy. And I'll tell you the results of Noah's stem cell therapy was a child who could not hang onto a monkey bar. He could not balance on a half moon ball. He could not climb a rock wall, although he would try so very hard or tie his shoes. And within 30 days, he could do all of it. No matter what it is that you choose, I want you to have informed consent. I want you to know what's going in your body, your child's body. I want you to, you know, just have that knowledge. Don't believe me, don't believe him. Do the research. There is research out there. There is research that aluminum and mercury can lead to autism. There is research that acetaminophen. There's over 1,000 papers on the dangers of acetaminophen and it's the number one cause of liver failure.
Dave Asprey
I've been anti Tylenol for the last 25 years for those exact reasons. And there are a few cases where if you take it with glutathione to protect your liver, it's actually medically useful. But yeah, it kills more people than a lot of things that there's whole organizations trying to ban. So 100% I wouldn't use it on my kids.
Tracy
I say if you're pregnant, please don't go out and jug some Tylenol just to prove your hatred for Trump or Kennedy.
Dave Asprey
It's the dumbest thing I've ever seen. It's just not good for you unless you have a really high fever and you're pregnant because you can have febrile seizures and all sorts of problems from high fever. What about what.
Tracy
How do you feel about belladonna for fever?
Dave Asprey
Yeah, I don't know its safety profile during pregnancy, but I'm good with whatever hormones of fever if it works. I haven't had much results from homeopathy and I know absolutely some of the practitioners I trust the most are like, I get results and I had results a couple times. Other times I'm like, I'm just, I'm just resistant to it. It's not a cynicism thing.
Tracy
It's like I want, I'm just recently learning more about homeopathy. So I've learned like all different things over the years and went back to school for alternative medicine and you know, so I gave My son, this, I can't remember the name of it, this homeopathy thing, he's like, I have anxiety. Yeah, because every 20 year old has anx. And I'm like, here, try this. And he comes back to me a couple days later and he's like, well, it worked. But I am a little skeptical. You know, it could be the placebo effect.
Dave Asprey
Mom, it's so funny. Okay, I've seen dramatic, profound effects from homeopathy. Just unimaginable things. And the remedies that have worked on me are mostly like weird, psycho, emotional German things. But the allergy ones have never done shit for me. And I've had substantial allergies for much of my life. And they're very well controlled, but, you know, there's foods I don't eat because of that. I want to talk a little bit about the benefits of autism. Okay? Now, some people are going, you, but here's the deal. In my understanding of this, there is something that causes a mitochondrial network collapse. So your available energy, it goes into the toilet. It might be running at 20% of what you normally could make. So this creates systemic stress, the mitochondria going, I can't make enough energy. And then you have something that causes chronic autoimmune neuroinflammation. So the nervous system's inflamed. And this combination is pretty terrible when you're young because your brain's job is to be a meaning making machine to sort out all of the signals in reality, to figure out what's a signal and what's meaningless. Well, if there's static on all your nerves, I remember I couldn't have tags in my shirts and I couldn't have feet in my pajamas because it was just like too much input and I couldn't. Certain sounds and all kinds of things like that. Like you just, you can't stand it. So that's the static on the nerves. And then the brain, it doesn't have enough power to sort things out. So it throws out things that most people would pay attention to, like knowing people's faces, social mores, all the things that autistic people are known for. And it's still though, saying with very minimal power, how do I sort out all of this reality? Well, that's not comfortable. I wouldn't wish on anyone. But then when you fix the mitochondrial networks and all of a sudden you're running at full power, you evolved a brain to run very efficiently on no power. And when you give it unlimited power, it's not power in the brain that makes you intelligent. It's efficiency in the brain. So this is why autistic people can have some superpowers. And when you fix the mitochondria and then you clean out the nervous system so there's no more static on the lines, there's a problem. Your brain doesn't know what to do with all the information because it never learned. You weren't crawling the way you were supposed to when you were two. Right. So if you can, then retrain the nervous system. This is why I run a neurofeedback company to this day. Not one that fixes autism. It's for performance enhancement, for executives, and for consciousness. But you retrain the brain, retrain the eyes, the ears, all the whatever the kid needs, and now you have a formidable person because of all the suffering. Their brain can do things that normal brains aren't supposed to, but they don't have the autistic stuff anymore. And that's been kind of my path. And I do have some. The way I structure my reality is different than most people because autistic kids are not going to probably be super social connectors ever, because they didn't build their reality around the networks of connections between all the people in their school, because they just didn't even see it, because they were too busy trying to figure out, like, why the lights were blinking and people were dumb or whatever autistic kids were thinking about. I don't know. So I just want to call that out. So if your kid has autism, or maybe you do, there is a bright side to it, and I'm kind of living evidence of that. Right. You can fix these things and it can be a journey. But the journey is a lot shorter now than it used to be, isn't it?
Tracy
I think so, yeah.
Announcer 2
Yeah.
Dave Asprey
And I've seen incredible results from AI. So if you're an autistic parent, you're saying, well, what is all the evidence that does this? What is the biological pathway? What's happening here? You're like, oh, my gosh, I never thought of that amino acid for the exact genetics my kids have. And you try it the next day and it works. That would have taken me two months of reading PubMed papers 10 years ago. And so I feel like the community is stronger. The things you're doing with the autism health conference, the ability to share information and the ability to find information, it's never been better. And there are things like peptides. There are known. Okay. There are known ways of getting metals out of the body. And treating mold in a way that we didn't know about very few years ago. So there's tons of hope, especially if you catch it early and you know, it took you a couple years, it sounds like, but the earlier you catch it, the earlier you can reverse it, right?
Tracy
Yes. So early intervention is key. I say. Right. There's certain parts of the brain that starts to develop around age 7, 6, 7, 7 years old. So we typically say, you know, to regain speech. For instance, a lot of these kids, if they've reached the age of seven and they're still non speakers, then the chances of them regaining speech is minimal. But first of all, I say never give up hope. And recently I partnered with Dr. Dan Goodenow and Goodenow Enterprises. So he created plasmalogen supplements. Have you ever heard of those?
Dave Asprey
I take them every day.
Tracy
Oh, yay. So he is sponsored. Just want to throw this out there. He has sponsored over 200 families on plasmalogen supplements.
Dave Asprey
Glial cell pharmula, I'm guessing.
Tracy
Yes.

Your longevity stack is probably missing something important, something that helps you with aging where it matters most.
Dave Asprey
Your mitochondria.
Announcer
They are the engines inside your cells and they make all the energy that powers your brain, your muscles, everything in your metabolism. And as you age, they slow down and then you slow down. And that's when you have less strength. It takes you longer to recover and you start to lose your edge. It happens earlier than you think. And when you start to feel it,
Dave Asprey
that's when aging really hits you. If you're looking for a way to
Announcer
solve that problem, listen up. Timeline powered by Mitopure, contains urolithin A, which is a compound that supports your mitochondria like no other substance we've found so far. Think of it like the batter in your cell phone. When the battery drains, your phone gets slow and then it stops working. Mito Pure is a full recharge for the battery that powers you. Timeline spent about 15 years and more than $50 million to crack the code on this. And the data says that this is at least as important as nad. That's because Mitopure delivers the exact dose that scientists used in clinical trials. And I've used Mitopure for years because I'm planning to live to at least 180 and I want to feel good the whole time.
Dave Asprey
And here's some news.

you're going to live.

And that means one number matters more than most lab tests. It's your omega 3 index. This number shows you how much EPA and DHA are actually in your red blood cell membranes. Large studies have tracked this for decades and people with high omega 3 levels live about four to five years longer than people with low levels. The best source of EPA and DHA is fish oil.
Dave Asprey
The problem?
Announcer
Most fish oils are rancid and could do more harm than good. That's why puree fish oil exists and why I've been taking it for a long time. It raises your Omega 3 levels the right way. It delivers 2000mg of Omega 3 with nearly 90% as EPA and DHA in the form your body actually uses. These Omega 3s help calm chronic inflammation, can protect your heart, support your joint health, and even preserve brain function as you age. Most fish oils do fail. They're rancid, full of contaminants, and don't actually raise your Omega 3 levels the way you want. The Clean Label Project tests every batch of puree fish oil for more than 200 contaminants including heavy metals, and they publish every result online. You can scan the QR code on your bottle and see it yourself. Every batch is also IFAS certified for freshness and oxidation and gets five out of five stars. That means no fishy burps, no rancid oil, no bs, and they're one of the few supplement brands with a Clean Label Project Transparency certificate. If longevity matters to you, high quality

absolutely love Dan and everything that he's doing. I'm super grateful for all his sacrifices, but he had a story. So when I first met him I Went to his conference, he's like, come to my conference. He's like, you know, I just want you to see. And so he would talk about something like als and then he would have a success story in which he had a man fly up from Australia who was pretty much on his deathbed on a feeding tube or whatever and with the glia, was in a wheelchair, moving around, was able to speak. I mean it was. Is he still disabled? Yes, but he had function and so regaining function. But it wasn't until I saw the story of the young 17 year old girl whose father is an MD, who was a non speaker, complete non speaker. Gain her voice.
Dave Asprey
Oh my gosh.
Tracy
And I'm like, whoa, wait a minute. No, no, no, no, that doesn't happen. And so these are the things I'm seeing. So what do I do? As a young organization, we're still working on finding that big donor, but it's coming and is to partner because it's all about partnerships. So we've partnered with Dr. Goodenow Enterprises in getting these plasma allergen supplements. He sponsors my conference, he sponsors everything. If I say, hey, Dan, will you come speak? Yes. He's a yes guy. He's opening this massive center 30 minutes from my house in Temecula. Pretty bomb where he's gonna be able to do everything. So he. I had told you earlier I'm deaf in one ear because of Meniere's disease. But he's like, oh, we got all this stu technology, we're going to do this and this think that we can fix something in there. And I'm like, I'm setting a clear intention. And then we've also partnered with Ed Clay at cpi, which I'm certain, you know, Cellular Performance Institute, which is in Mexico, and they do mesenchymal stem cell therapy and they don't treat children. And so I went to Ed Clay and I said, hey, I'm the warrior mom and I run an organization and I am wondering if you treat kids on the spectrum. And he said, no. And I said, why? And he's like, I don't know enough about it and there's not enough. I don't have any science to back it up as to where I know that this treatment would work for them. And I'm like, okay, but are you open to all possibilities? And he's like, absolutely. So he comes back to me. I didn't even think he'd come back to me. He comes back to me like two weeks later. He's like, well, I had a Board meeting. And I'm talking, two of my board members have kids with autism. And he's like, and we're going to do a full blown clinical trial.
Dave Asprey
Amazing.
Tracy
And they are going to fund, that's the big thing, the clinical trial. But not only are they working to fund this clinical trial, but they're working on what are the contributing factors of autism. He's taking little, you know, videos of the doctors talking, and I'm just like, blown away. So Ed Clay has so generously, you know, become our diamond sponsor for our conference. And all of this is going to come out at the Autism Health Summit, all their findings, whatever, and what it is that they plan to do. So we have partnered with him to do this clinical trial. So in my hopes, I'm not 100% is that I will be able to refer a lot of these families to be in this clinical trial and give them that hope for their child. Because if I can't bring in the big donors yet, then I'm bringing in the big guns to partner with. So I'm partnering with some of the best of the best. And I'm super excited. Super exhausting. But, you know, I'll take my peptides. They give me energy. I love it.
Dave Asprey
So good.
Tracy
And they make me feel good because I actually have Lyme disease. So it is the one thing that's really helped me function and not be in such chronic pain.
Dave Asprey
Can I be a jerk?
Tracy
No, go ahead.
Dave Asprey
You don't really have Lyme disease.
Tracy
Okay.
Dave Asprey
You have toxic mold.
Tracy
Oh, yeah, that too. Oh, I have it all. Viruses, mold, you name it, autism, throw it all. I do. I know I do.
Dave Asprey
Somewhere around episode 400, I interviewed a scientist from UCLA who did a really detailed genetic analysis. And 90% of the time, people with Lyme just have mold. Get rid of the mold, the Lyme resolves itself. And in my path, I was living in a very moldy house and didn't know it in my early 20s. And I went to the doctor and he said, oh, that couldn't be it. You don't have any fungal issues. You'd be dead if you did. Okay. I believed him and I went off and I did all this research for about four years. I didn't see a doctor because I was too angry. Gaslighting will do research.
Tracy
I don't blame you.
Dave Asprey
Yeah. And I kind of became an expert. This is when I started attending the nonprofit I ended up running and. And I finally went back to a functional health doctor. And I was really angry. I'm like, I have One of these seven conditions in stack ranked order. And you order this lab and this lab and this lab, and this will be the treatment plan for each. And she's like, holy crap, who is this guy? And can I help you order your list? So she said, I think you have Lyme. So we tested and I had Lyme. And then I started a lab testing company that was the second at home lab testing company in the world that did a very unusual test to find active Lyme. And I had active Lyme. And that test did radioactive white blood cell counting to see if Lyme went to that. So I treated Lyme for a year aggressively and didn't get that many results. Lots of antibiotics and all that kind of stuff. And when I finally got to the mold thing, I've seen thousands of people I've spoken with over the years, you put them on antifungals, clear out the mold toxins, the lime goes away. So mold is an underlying thing. And there's genetics that make you susceptible to toxic mold, that also make you susceptible to autism, as you well know. Right.
Tracy
And then there's heavy metals that they just feed on because it's like candy. And I was in the military, so do you want to know how many I got within just the first three months of me being in the military? I got 17. 17.
Dave Asprey
17 vaccines?
Tracy
Yes.
Dave Asprey
Wow. That not. But you were pretty resilient to them, it sounds like.
Tracy
Well, actually it was the beginning of a whole bunch of health conditions. So I started getting, you know, polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometri chronic migraines, joint pain, I mean, you name it. I've had so many surgeries, I don't even really know the number. So, yeah, I feel it was the beginning. And I was also known as incubator, so that might have been like a, you know, a little, little pass on there. And I've also, you know, I've had my own health issues, but I say that. So I took this whole journey on with my son. I was going to make Noah eat clean food and then go behind his back and eat garb that if it came in a package, a can or a box. Love you, mom. We ate it. My mom was a full time working mom and my grandfather was at home, so he was the one. It was pasta, grilled cheese. Yeah, all kinds of good stuff. And so I went on this journey with Noah and I truly feel that if it was not for my son and his journey and me taking it on myself, that I would be severely disabled today.
Dave Asprey
I absolutely Believe you the reason I'm bringing this up, how many of the autism moms, you know, have autistic kids are dealing with their own health challenges?
Tracy
Oh, we're all dealing with it.
Dave Asprey
Yeah. There's some genetic susceptibilities here, and we can identify them. We know what they are. And are you hypermobile by any chance?
Tracy
Yes.
Dave Asprey
How did I know? The genes all run together, right? So hypermobility is one of the signs. You probably have the HLA doctor for genes that make you more susceptible to mold, which make you more sustainable. But this is science and we know it. And even knowing all this stuff, they'll just take kids. There's a standard schedule, and you can't go to school unless you permanently disable yourself, potentially for our school board things. And I'm hoping that some of these school board people just get sued personally over this kind of behavior. Like, it doesn't matter if there's some kind of. Well, that's what the regulation said, dude. If you enforce that after seeing my child's genetics, you know, I'm going to take your house. Right? So you guys should understand, if you're out there trying to force parents and kids to receive treatments they don't want, it's on you. It's on you personally. And I want you to not sleep at night ever again. Just wondering when the lawsuit's coming. And, yeah, there's indemnification from your school board. And then there's warrior moms. I'm gonna bet on the warrior moms. So let's stop forcing parents and kids to do anything that they don't think is in their best interest. It's the only way we can live in a free society and understanding the how and the why and being able to test it with labs, it's a new world, right? And, you know, we all dealt with this kind of nonsense during the. During the pandemic, you know, where they're saying, you know, thou shalt do what I say for thy own safety. It's one of the reasons that my coffee company is called Danger Coffee, you know, danger. Because who knows what you might do? But it's also, one says, I'm doing it for your own safety. I'm like, I choose danger. Like, I don't want safety. I want freedom, which means I can not reactivate the symptoms that I could easily reactivate with things I'm not going to do. So, yeah, just say, I'm going to bet on the warrior moms. That's the right way to do it. So understanding that there may not be a double blind clinical trial, but that you've worked with thousands and thousands of autistic families, if you had to stack rank the top five most likely contributors to autism, what are the top five autism enhancers?
Tracy
Well, I believe that a lot of it does start in the womb, okay. And you know, a mom's toxicity. So I'm taking accountability here and not for anybody to bring out a beat up stick. And then secondly, you do have, you know, the childhood vaccines in which I condone Kennedy and his staff for taking down the number of recommendations. Unless, of course, you live in California. It's really sad, but there are some dangerous ones still on there. And you know, read the labels, read the black box labels. Read them all. Glyphosate is huge, much bigger than that, unfortunately. It's in everything, right? It is in everything. Mold, viruses, oxidative stress, you know, all these different things. Volatile organic compounds. So I talk about in my book, there's a section that says, you know, how to clean up your environment, your home environment. Now, don't drive yourself crazy, do what you can. But candles, air fresheners, things that off gas like paint and furniture and carpet, all those different things are volatile organic compounds. Cookware. Now, I own titanium cookware, right? So I don't expect everyone to go out and buy titanium cookware because it's expensive. But I want you to think, you know, if your refrigerator broke down, would you just, would you just go without a refrigerator? So that's where your food goes.
Dave Asprey
You can go to Ross and buy a stainless steel frying pan. It's pretty affordable.
Tracy
Yeah, all these different things are major contributors to our own, you know, our mental health. Not, not just individuals with autism, but all of us. You know, we're all like walking around in a brain fog and we're unhealthy. We don't realize it. And the best thing to do is to chip away at it little by little, get the proper testing. Gut health. Oh, that was my number one. Sorry. Gut health. Gut. When the gut's messed up, gut. Parasites. Parasites. Seizures. I believe parasites are the number one cause.
Dave Asprey
Way more than people recommend.
Tracy
Yeah, parasites. Okay, good. I could go on forever.
Dave Asprey
It's more than five. Sorry. No, it's totally fine.
Tracy
I lost track. They should know everything.
Dave Asprey
And of course, if your listeners are going, what the hell? So what you do is you start with the gut, right? And you start with the environment to lower these things. And a shout out about VOCs. So these are paint fumes and things like that, as well as candles and all these artificial fragrances, your home should smell like nothing, right? And if you need some kind of stinky thing, chemical, you know, nice stinky thing to hide the stink of your house, you have a bacterial or a mold problem in your home. And more than a hundred million homes have this. If you go to moldymovie.com, totally free. This is my documentary on toxic mold. But it's not just the mold. The mold makes mycotoxins and it's directly neuroinflammatory. But bacteria from the moist soil under your house or in the walls makes bacterial VOCs that are particularly bad for your immune system. And there's something new that you can do about that. A company called Superstratum was just on the show. They make a low cost chlorine bomb. They don't call it a chlorine bomb, but I'm just going to say that. And what you do is you take this little packet, you put it in water after you seal your house, hold your breath and run away. And you leave the house sealed for 12 hours. And this stuff penetrates inside walls. It destroys all chemical and bacterial VOCs and kills everything, including your plants.
Tracy
Oh my God, I gotta do that in my son's room. Regularly.
Dave Asprey
It's important. And you do this, then you air the place out for four hours and you have an absolutely sterile environment. They have a fogger that lets you go in and you fog. So I fogged my home every three months and I bombed it before I bought it and after any kind of remediation work, and when you do things like that, you can radically reduce VOCs in your home almost overnight. And it's affordable compared to anything like tearing up your house and repainting it, all kinds of stuff. So solutions are coming. This is based on 20 years of research on surfactants and all. And they make a spray that stops mold and bacteria from growing for 10 years. And it's non toxic. You can spray inside your walls if you want to. So my home, every surface I can get to, has that stuff on it because I just don't want to deal with mold toxins because they give you brain fog and make you old and are contributors to Alzheimer's and cancer and diabetes and infertility and autism. It's like, we don't want these in our world so we can do something about it, right? So I love what you're doing with the Autism Health Conference because bringing together the parents, the health providers and the technologies and the supplements, all the stuff that can work. And that circles us back to something you mentioned, glial cells. So in the world of biohacking, neurons are the rock stars, right? And we want good neuron function. Problem is, if they're the rock stars, who are the roadies? That's the glial cells, the microglia in the brain. And these are brain immune cells that also are part of our consciousness, and they're running around maintaining everything in the brain. And when you get the leaky gut, the biotoxins, then the glial cells become inflamed and overactive or underactive. And this is one of the things that contributes to autism or Alzheimer's. Like, you get to pick. They both start with a. But it's the same pathway. So taking care of your glial cells is really important, which is reduce neuroinflammation, reduce leaky gut. And then those plasmalogen supplements you talked about, they have a specific formula that talks to the glia and tells them to shut up.
Tracy
So it actually helps repair the damaged myelin in the brain. And if you don't know what the myelin. And it's the protective sheath over the neurons, and that is the white matter in the brain. So when you see on the brain scans, the depletion of the white matter, it is the deflation of myelin. So this supplement. And he's going the distance to get this FDA approved, bless his heart.
Dave Asprey
FDA approved for medical conditions?
Tracy
Yes.
Dave Asprey
Yeah. Okay. Thankfully, you don't need FDA approval for a supplement. You just can't lie. FTC good guys. Because they stop people from lying. Yeah.
Tracy
And what it's doing for all different kind of neurological disorders is phenomenal. But what he does as a human being is far beyond, you know, the typical call of duty. He's brilliant. He's a brilliant neuroscientist. I mean, he's got patents on everything, even a. An autism patent of some sort. But he's super smart, but he gives endlessly.
Dave Asprey
There are so many people in the world of health and wellness who are behind the scenes doing shocking, shocking amounts of good in the world and usually don't hear about them, but you come across these people. Bill Harris was one from the Centerpoint Institute. He donated more than $50 million to different health causes and consciousness and neuroscience and all of that stuff. And he made CDs and other sound files that let you calm your brain. And I dedicated one of my books to him after he passed. But he didn't talk about the charitable side of what he did very much. He was just doing his thing. And. And you see Daniel. Amen. Another one of the heroes in the space. And it goes on and on. So there are really good guys, and there's some selfish takers in the world of health as well. But just if you're sort of skeptical about everyone, look, there's some incredibly good human beings out there, and there's some incredibly bad ones. The Epstein list showed us a few of them in the health world. And I'll just say skepticism is warranted and understand it's a spectrum. So a lot of people are pretty good. And some people are like, oh, my God, like, you're really doing that. And then other people are like, oh, my God, you're really doing that. But thank you for calling out one of the guys who's obviously just going above and beyond because they exist. And if people are losing hope, there's all kinds of good stuff happening in the world.
Tracy
You know, that's the great thing about being on a mission, running a nonprofit is you keep going at it until you find the. The good ones, the ones who are willing to contribute, those that are all for assisting a great organization in functioning and meeting its purpose and its mission. Because currently it's like me and my husband does a lot of the ongoing footwork, and my board members, who are super amazing. And to run an organization to fill a purpose because it doesn't stop. There are times where I get a little overwhelmed, and like a child, I just like to cry.
Dave Asprey
Yeah, you gotta let it out, right?
Tracy
And my mom used to say, it's good. It clears out the eye ducts. But to. I can't ever give up. No matter how hard it gets, no matter what adversities that. That I face.
Dave Asprey
You're not giving yourself credit. You can give up and you don't.
Tracy
Oh, that's true. We're all at choice, right?
Dave Asprey
Give yourself credit.
Tracy
We're all at choice. And these families depend on me. The ones that call me all hours of the day and night, they depend on me. The mom who reached out to me on Facebook two weeks ago and said, I'm a single mom. I've done everything biomedical until I couldn't afford it anymore. I have twin boys that are non speakers. They're 18 years old, and I don't know what to do anymore. Please help. And it's like, what do I say?
Dave Asprey
Yeah, you say, yes.
Tracy
Yes. And I do my best to connect relationships, because if I don't have the answers, I'm most certain in my Rolodex, I have somebody who does, which is really great. The relationships they've made over the years, the connections, all of it, it's worth its weight in gold. And I wouldn't change anything at all.
Dave Asprey
Tell me your story. What happened?
Tracy
Oh, the story of so many families. Because my story, unfortunately, is not original, right? My son was fully functioning and met all his milestones. He was doing really well. And then I took him in 18 months for a well, baby visit. At that time, he received his MMR and Versella vaccines. And within 24 hours, my son broke out. And what they told me was a full body rash, but what I ended up finding out was measles. All I ever heard from the pediatrician was, this is normal. It's a normal reaction. It's a little rash, one that stuck around for quite some time, and that everything was going to be okay. And over the next three to six months, I started to see my son lose any and all speech, that he had a lot of motor skills. So my son could no longer climb. He couldn't jump off two feet. He really struggled with motor skills and strength. And he was built. You know, he came out almost £9.
Dave Asprey
Serbian stock, they'll do it for you.
Tracy
And over time, I just watched the lights go out. My little boy. And so, okay, pediatrician, is it possible my son could have autism? She looks at him and she's like, no, kids with autism don't do pretend play. That's pretend play. And yes, I know, I know. All he needs is speech. Just take him for some speech. No, that's not all he needed. So it was very frustrating. And I'm here to tell any parent who is listening that a pediatrician is not educated to give a diagnosis of autism. So if you want a real educated evaluation, you typically have to see a clinical psychologist. So from there, head didn't go through the wall. I walked into my husband's office one morning, and he had hired this wonderful lady to work for him at the front desk. And lo and behold, she had a son with autism. And she was able to guide me on what to do, how to do it, and where to go. Noah was already three years old, so beyond the age of three, which I did not know at the time, you can have him evaluated through the school district. So she guided me through that, and the school district actually did a pretty wonderful evaluation. It was about three hours long. And they were very thorough, and they were very kind when they came back in the room and they told us, you know, we do find that Noah is autistic. Like, so a school district can't diagnose. Right. And from there I was able to actually take that report and go back to the regional center to get NOAA a formal diagnosis. But at that, I had answers. And even though it was devastating, I was relieved to know what was going on.
Dave Asprey
Getting a diagnosis is incredibly satisfying when mysteries are scary. But at least if you know what you're dealing with, you can have a strategy, right?
Tracy
Oh, 100%. So following Noah's evaluation through the school district, I at least had some answers. And after that, I say, came in angel number two. And this was my naturopathic doctor. So I was actually part of the Beamer study back in the day. Yes. Dr. Joshua Burka, who is the director, medical director for Beamer for over 20 years. I was part of the Beamer study. And so his office was adjacent to ours. So I went to his office quite often for treatment. And I had to run back to the office after Noah's evaluation. And I say, truly, there are no accidents in life, right? Everything happens for a reason. It's all in divine order. I was walking down the hallway and I'm crying and he stops and he gives me a hug and he's like, what's the matter? And I said, well, Noah was diagnosed with autism. And he looks at me and he says, noah's going to be fine. I want you to go home and do your research. Because kids with autism are making great strides with biomedical intervention, also known as biohacking, kind of. Right?
Dave Asprey
You don't say it right.
Tracy
And I literally, that was my fork in the road in life. I could have played Woe is me, my kid has autism, Feel sorry for me.
Dave Asprey
There's some very angry and victim minded people in the community.
Tracy
Or suck the tears back up in your eyes, go home and get to work. And that's what I was raised to do. I set a very clear intention that day. And this is what I tell parents. They're like, what was the number one thing that worked for you? I said, I set a clear intention on the day that my doctor told me that Noah would be fine. I knew that Noah would be fine. And there wasn't a single person who could tell me different. Where your mind goes, energy flows, right? And so the energy that I put out there, apparently, you know, it worked because Noah is now 20 years old, living a fully functioning life. He still lives at home because, you know, rent in California is pretty expensive. But he travels the world, he works full time. So he could pay for his trips. Last year he went to Japan, London, New York, Orlando, all those different places, all on his own. I didn't go with him. I was not holding his hand. The year prior. We did some traveling and I guided him. This is what you need to do when you're traveling abroad. And I let him do it on his own. And he so wants to do everything independently. And, you know, he's so he's doing really well.
Dave Asprey
There's still some people listening, going, you can't reverse autism. A family member had a daughter who was totally normal, from a very bright family, Silicon Valley entrepreneur type. And then one day, without her parents consent, was vaccinated. I don't know what the vaccine was. And then, interestingly, a couple days later, same developmental delays. And her mom, who had a very strong career, left her career and did something similar to what you're doing. And that kid graduated from college with honors, totally normal. And like the amount of sacrifice it takes for parents to do that, it's really touching. But the amount of opportunity that goes back to a kid who would have just had a pretty miserable life otherwise, where it's a whole life. So I know that you've went through that, and I know because I've spoken at conferences in the field and who knows, maybe I'll speak at Autism Health. But it's such a sacrifice, and it gets to me because it's entirely unnecessary. I have access to everything I can think of, health wise. I just got a genetic report after I did the episode with Sharon Houseman, and she said, oh, look, here's a gene. Dave, you have eight times higher risk of autism from this gene. And here's another couple genes that give you a 2.5x higher risk of autism. And here's a gene that gives you 30 times higher risk of extreme fatigue when you get sick. So I didn't know that, but if we'd have known that, maybe they shouldn't do the same things for my biology that you might do with someone who didn't have those risk factors. And this testing is available, it's about $1,200. It's not cheap, but it should be required before any child is given any medication or any sort of vaccine. Just required. There should be no standard schedule for children because it's harmful for at least two children. And we know, Fritz, a lot more than that. And just knowing the facts. And I knew that my kids were at high risk because look at my family. So I did everything possible, including building a regenerative Farm raising them in the country, avoiding all the things, the gluten, the casein, all those things to minimize the risk. And I have like abundantly healthy, thriving children. But I know that if I didn't have my own experiences and all the learning and all the suffering, my kids would have been in that exact same situation. And so if you're listening to this and your kids have autism or maybe you do, you can change this. And it's not the same for everyone. There's no one cause Tylenol doesn't cause or not cause autism. There's this recipe and the recipe has hundreds of factors in it. And Tylenol may be an ingredient, but it may actually be useful. I actually took Tylenol three days ago for good reason. So I took glutathione too, by the way. So knowing that we live in this world, like, are you pissed off all the time?
Tracy
I am not. I actually live my life in complete gratitude. There's a very valid reason why I named my book Warrior Mom. I earned that title more ways than one. During this very same time that my son was diagnosed with autism. My husband fights against Big Insurance, you know, to get people paid for their property claims. And so he decided to expose Big Insurance and Big Pharma on the news for fraud and collusion on smoke and ash claims because they just wanted him to vacuum it up, up. And that didn't go very well. So then the insurance Commissioner fined Steve $250,000 for acting as public adjuster when he was a contractor. And then, oh, it didn't end there. So then my husband was oh so wise and thought he was going to sue the insurance commissioner. Well, that didn't go very well either. So it was a back and forth game. Unfortunately, what it resulted in was the LA Times writing a hit piece on my husband and it wound up on the front page of the LA Times.
Dave Asprey
How much did the insurance company spend on advertising in the LA Times, do you think?
Tracy
Oh, boy.
Dave Asprey
Sorry, keep going.
Tracy
Can't give you an exact number, but I can only guess in my head. And no matter what he said, it didn't matter the reporter was going to write what he was going to write. And he was also fired, I think years later for false reporting. But so Steve winds up on the front page of the LA Times in a smear campaign on the fourth of July weekend, Sunday paper right there with, you know, Michael Jackson's death and couldn't have gotten more publicity and his business of 20 years of helping families, you know, get paid on Their insurance claims was tanked. And very same year, Noah was diagnosed with autism.
Dave Asprey
Wow. A little stress in the family. My gosh.
Tracy
Very same year, I had two surgeries. And, you know, it just all seemed. This is the chapter. When it rains, it pours.
Dave Asprey
Mm.
Tracy
But my doctor told me that Noah was gonna live a normal, functioning life. Did I have the money for biomedical intervention? Absolutely not. But I am a powerful creator. So from that moment, I made it quite clear that my son was going to get every single treatment that he needed, no matter what. So I bartered for treatments, and bartering I did in exchange for hyperbaric oxygen therapy. In exchange, I did their marketing for them. I did offer to scrub their toilets, too. And then I bartered, I negotiated. I sold every single thing that we owned. If I could put it on eBay in 2009. Every single thing. Except my wedding ring. I kept my wedding ring. And then we short sailed our house to take Noah to the Ukraine for stem cell therapy.
Dave Asprey
Wow.
Tracy
And I have no regrets. I did not cry. I did not whine. I did not pout. My husband was out there knocking doors, consulting for cash to pay for food. And so I'm not that parent that you want to look at and say,
Dave Asprey
this is just a little bit of resilience in there. Wow. How do you guys get the information?
Tracy
So there are some pretty amazing individuals, not just doctors and scientists, out there doing their due diligence. And a lot of them are parents of kids with autism, and they're working hard. I mean, we're invested. I mean, you've got Bobby Kennedy, who's an attorney, who they say he knows nothing. But man, I'll tell you, that man will read research unbelievable, endlessly. And he has some pretty amazing doctors and scientists working with him, by him, around him. And I'm grateful for his dedication. What he's done and sacrificed, it wasn't, you know, without its own, you know, struggles.
Dave Asprey
He's gone through a lot. I've actually never supported any politician in my life. In fact, I think voting for people, if it changed anything, they'd make it illegal.
Tracy
Right?
Dave Asprey
Just. I mean, guys, look, it's like, who won the Super Bowl? The NFL always wins the Super Bowl. It doesn't matter which side's playing. But I actually maxed out my donation to Bobby Kennedy, and I had dinner with him and was. I was floored. I mean, the level of memory and knowledge, and we talked about mitochondria and causes. Like, this guy, he gets it, and he cares about autism. And now that he's in an appropriate position working in the administration. The evil that's been done, the lies that were told, you know, oh, yeah, it's been studied. There aren't even any studies. And they sit there and testify in Congress that there's studies. So I think the things that have been covering up lies and deceit are coming off. And I'll be the first one to say categorically vaccines don't cause autism, but they can sometimes. Right. Like there isn't one cause of autism. It is a recipe of things. Right. And so this evil way of thinking is there must be one cause. And because of that weird thought that lets companies get away with things that do cause autism in a meaningful portion of people saying it doesn't cause it because it doesn't cause it in everyone, which is nonsense, childlike thinking. And it's part of the gaslighting campaign. And I don't think the new FDA is going to stand up for that, which is just so cool. Well, Tracy, really, thank you for your work in the world. You're doing God's work, I would say so. I appreciate you. And guys, autismhealth.com there's a conference, it's all nonprofit. And if this is something that would be helpful, helpful to you or your family or someone you know about, this is something you want to do. It's in April in San Diego, so check it out. I don't know if I'm going to be able to make it this April, but one of these days we'll get
Tracy
them out next year.
Dave Asprey
Yeah.
Tracy
We do also offer CME credits for medical practitioners.
Dave Asprey
That is so cool.
Tracy
I know.
Dave Asprey
So if you're a doctor, maybe a stem cell doctor. And yes, most stem cell doctors listen to the show and thank you for that. A lot of them won't treat kids and maybe you should because stem cells go in and directly turn off neuroinflammation and the GI inflammation in a beautiful way. So, yeah, it's hard to put a needle in an autistic kid, but that's what Benadryl's for.
Tracy
I love you.
Dave Asprey
And on that note, thanks for listening to the show. Go to the Autism Health Conference, and if you think you might have autism and you're an adult, well, read about it a little bit. And if so, it's going to turn on a lot of light bulbs in your life and it'll fix your health to understand what's going on. Even if you're highly functioning and have superpowers, do it. And if you have kids who are on the spectrum or in the direction of the spectrum. There's great knowledge here. It doesn't have to be expensive because someone has gone out there and tried everything to help you know what's going to work better and you're looking at her. See you on the next episode.

Episode 1443: Your Doctor Is Wrong About Autism (Here's How To Reverse It)
Date: April 2, 2026
Guest: Tracy (author of “Warrior Mom” and autism conference organizer)
This episode explores controversial and emerging views on autism causes, interventions, and the growing movement of parents advocating for alternative treatments and environmental interventions. Dave Asprey, biohacker and ex-Asperger’s adult, talks with Tracy, “Warrior Mom,” about biomedical interventions, the pitfalls of mainstream autism guidance, environmental and dietary factors, and her personal journey healing her son’s autism. They discuss the complexity of autism’s causes, the importance of hope and community, new therapies (stem cells, supplements, environmental changes), and the role of empowered parents in challenging conventional wisdom.
“A pediatrician is not educated to give a diagnosis of autism.” – Tracy (00:52)
“You might have heard me talk about having Asperger's... I don't have it anymore... For me, reversing that as an adult, it was 10 years of work.” – Dave Asprey (03:30)
“Do the pre-genetics load the gun? Yes. And you have all these different combination of environmental factors that pull the trigger.” – Tracy (07:00) “There isn’t just one cause of autism, but there’s a recipe, and we know what it is.” – Dave Asprey (05:07)
“If you do not lay a foundation of healing the gut first, the chances of those treatments and therapies working is going to be... less effective.” – Tracy (09:41)
“[Plasmalogen] actually helps repair the damaged myelin in the brain… and what it’s doing for all kinds of neurological disorders is phenomenal.” – Tracy (39:05)
“When you fix the mitochondria... you have a formidable person because of all the suffering. Their brain can do things that normal brains aren’t supposed to, but they don’t have the autistic stuff anymore.” – Dave Asprey (15:30)
“Early intervention is key…certain parts of the brain…develop around age 7…regaining speech is minimal after that. But first of all, I say never give up hope.” – Tracy (18:19)
“If you're out there trying to force parents and kids to receive treatments they don't want, it's on you. It's on you personally…And I'm gonna bet on the warrior moms.” – Dave Asprey (31:05)
“I did not cry. I did not whine. I did not pout…I have no regrets.” – Tracy (56:31)
“We're all at choice…These families depend on me…the connections, all of it, it's worth its weight in gold.” – Tracy (42:58)
“Testing is available...it should be required before any child is given any medication or any sort of vaccine.” – Dave Asprey (52:20)
“Never give up hope.” – Tracy (18:19)
