Hello, friends. Welcome back to another episode of the Influencer podcast. This is one of the ones that I love to do because I am going live on Instagram while I am recording this at the same time. And I always love to do this ones or ones like these because they just bring in so much energy. So today I want to talk about something that is often misunderstood in the online business business world, and that is visibility. And not the kind of visibility that comes from necessarily posting more on social media or doing things like running ads. But what I'm talking about today is strategic visibility. It's the kind that puts you in front of the right people, in the right rooms at the right time. And it's the kind of visibility that creates opportunities. And not just any opportunities, but the ones that can change your business and your life. So let me start by sharing a story about one of my clients, Kate. Kate knew that she needed visibility to scale her business, but she wasn't interested in just putting out more content. She wanted to be seen by the right people and for what she knows, for what she does best, obviously, and really refine her messaging and strategically position her to be in the right room, so to speak. And soon enough, she began getting invited to high level conferences, guesting on podcasts, and connecting with key players in her industry. Now let me give you just a few more example to show you how strategic visibility works in real life. One of my other clients, Dana, she runs a digital marketing agency for nonprofits. And when Dana started working with me, her focus was on growing her client base. But I saw something bigger in terms of opportunity for Dana. I encouraged her to really lean into visibility that went beyond just client acquisition, specifically through thought leadership. And she began landing speaking opportunities at the top conferences in her space, which then led to a book deal. And that domino effect is really what I'm talking about today. Visibility done strategically, it opens up doors that a lot of times we don't even know are there. Another example is Steph, a client of mine who runs another marketing agency. Steph had a very solid foundation when she came to me, but she wanted to get in front of bigger audiences to really position herself as a leader in her industry. So through our work together, she ended up landing high profile podcast guest spots on shows like him and her and Dream Bigger. These appearances also drove visibility and credibility for her, which then she leveraged into things like brand deals, partnerships, and consistent six figure months for her agency. Another example, Kylie. She's a fitness coach and founder. Kylie had a successful course, but was stuck in this cycle of constant launching. So first we worked on refining her messaging to position her as the go to expert in her field. And then after our sessions, she started landing guest spots on fitness podcasts that directly aligned with her ideal clients. These podcast appearances brought in clients who were already sold on her before they even reached out because of these visibility opportunities, which then increased her organic sales. So with this idea, I have been able to help clients land brand collabs, speaking engagements, and media features and publications like Forbes Entrepreneur. And these really are the kinds of opportunities that come from being in the right rooms and really being seen by the right people. So I want to break down for you today how I was able to do all this and how I'm able to help those like you do this. So before we get there, I got to back up a little bit to let some of you know, if you don't, that before I became a coach or a podcaster or an online educator, I spent nearly a decade working as a publicist. And I wasn't just booking magazine features or securing red carpet appearances for clients. I was literally building brands and creating visibility for Grammy winning musicians, for thought leaders, and for bestselling authors. So I learned very early on that success in this space isn't just about a hundred K months or a hundred k followers. It's about who sees you. It's about being in the right rooms, getting connected to the right people, and really becoming the person that top tier opportunities naturally flow to. So over the years, I have been able to build a brand that has led to several things. Speaking at industry leading events like traffic and conversion, Collaborating with brands like Amazon and Four Seasons, Being featured in Forbes, the Huffington Post Entrepreneur. Signing a book deal with Harper Collins for my book get what you want. Landing over 200 podcast episodes at some of the top shows in that business and lifestyle niche. But here is the thing. None of those opportunities happened but by accident. I think a lot of times it's easy to see that and start to think that way they happened because of the visibility strategies that I learned as a publicist and then applied to my own business and then was able to apply to the businesses of my clients. And one of the biggest misconceptions that I really see so many entrepreneurs make is thinking that visibility, that term, that idea, is just all about content. They think that if they post more, they'll get noticed. If they create more reels, they'll stand out. If they get more followers, they'll get more opportunity. But that's not the full picture. True visibility and the kind that I'm talking about is really the kind that leads to massive growth and authority long term, comes from strategic relationships and connections. It's about who knows you, not who you know, but who knows you and trusts you enough to open the right doors for you. And most big opportunities come from the relationships. It's about someone advocating for you behind the scenes and helping you put yourself in that path of opportunity. So before you can get into the right rooms, you need to know what you want people to say about you when you're not in the room, what you want them to know, to believe, to feel, what's your signature message, what's your unique genius? And if you're not clear on what that is, you are going to consistently struggle to stand out. Your message will continue to get lost. So you first have to start by refining your messaging so that it's clear, concise and it's memorable and it's actually projecting out what it is that you want to be known for. Because just because you understand what that is, doesn't mean that you're effectively articulating it out to the public for them to understand what that means. And so that's why all roads in my world start with that, that messaging refinement piece. You cannot build authority and you cannot grow visibility and you cannot grow sales without this messaging refinement piece. And this is really where my genius lies through my decade work as a publicist and then my decade work plus in this online education space. Once you lock that in. The second thing that you have to do is that you have to be so intentional with identifying the rooms that you want to be in. So you have to ask yourself, what podcasts do my ideal clients listen to? What conferences do they attend so I know where I want to speak at, what brands or leaders do they get in front of? Do they aspire to be around? Are they inspired by that I can collaborate with? You've got to get specific. You can't just say, I want more visibility. I mean, what does that even mean to you, right? You have to get specific. You have to say, I want to be featured on XYZ podcast. I want to speak on X, Y, Z stage. I want to get in the rooms with X, Y, Z people. Which then leads me to my third. You have to start building the relationships before you, quote, unquote, need them. Here's the secret. The best opportunities do not happen through cold pitching. They happen through relationships. Relationships are meant to be built and they take time. And the way that you can fast track that is if you have someone who's already taken the time to build that relationship, help you get in the door. So you've got to start engaging with the people that you want to connect with. You have to share their content, you have to comment thoughtfully on their posts. You have to send genuine messages. You have to be genuinely curious in these people. You have to start creating the conversations that you wish to see, that you wish to have.
