Welcome to the introvert’s guide to the college rollercoaster ride, a podcast where every Wednesday, Berry College senior Olivia Gilmore breaks down one (or more!) stories from her life that range from getting flagged by customs agents who thought she carried pornographic disks, to a cat being murdered right in front of her while petsitting, or navigating finals a week after chest surgery, breaking her shoulder, or getting run over by a truck. Learn why her 20 orientation students gave her the award for the “best crazy stories to tell” as she goes over how to navigate several awkward scenarios, like what to do if your car ever stalls in the middle of the highway, you accidentally show a sex ed video during a presentation, a guy falls asleep on your lap during your red eye flight, your manager says you have the perfect body to be a hooter’s girl, you get hit by a car on the way to an exam, you end up drunk on the wrong train in a foreign country, or you get proposed to in the Australian Outback by a creepy tourist. Whatever the week’s story brings, you’re sure to laugh and cry right along with her. She hopes your biggest takeaway is that no matter what life throws at you, you’re never alone (because she’s definitely experienced something similar). Olivia is an honors Animal Science major who is currently in the process of applying to veterinary school for next year. When she’s not in the middle of getting caught in a tornado, getting HPV from a chicken scratch, or banned from the uber app, you can find Olivia working on deer fertility research, as a vet tech for an animal ob/gyn clinic, reading one of her many theology/sci-fi books, running her crochet shop on etsy, or traveling somewhere cool (probably internationally.) WARNING: some stories contain descriptions of racism, sexual assault, sexuality, animal abuse, graphic scenes, or graphic descriptions of animal reproduction. There will always be a posted warning before any episode containing anything suggestive, so feel free to skip that week if it’s not your thing. Additionally, all names of other people involved in these stories have been changed to protect their identities. Thank you for listening & enjoy :)
