Welcome to the introvert’s guide to living life on the flipside, a podcast where every Wednesday, Berry College alum Olivia Gilmore gives you the real and the raw of life in your early twenties by breaking down one (or more!) stories from her life that range from getting flagged by customs agents who thought she carried pornographic disks, to a cat being murdered right in front of her while petsitting, or navigating finals a week after chest surgery, breaking her shoulder, or getting run over by a truck. Learn why she earned the award for the “best crazy stories to tell” or “best dolphin kisser” as she goes over how to navigate several awkward scenarios, like what to do if your car ever stalls in the middle of the highway, you accidentally show a sex ed video during a presentation, a guy falls asleep on your lap during your red eye flight, you make a fool out of yourself in a gay bar, you get hit by a car on the way to an exam, you end up drunk on the wrong train in a foreign country, or you get proposed to in the Australian Outback by a creepy tourist. Whatever the week’s story brings, you’re sure to laugh and cry right along with her. She hopes your biggest takeaway is that no matter what life throws at you, you’re never alone and that it’s totally ok for your life to take a 180 (because she’s definitely experienced something similar). When she’s not in the middle of getting caught in a tornado, getting HPV from a chicken scratch, or banned from the uber app, you can find Olivia traveling the world, questioning her life choices, reading sci-fi books, running her crochet shop on etsy, or playing with her dog, Spencer. Thank you for listening & enjoy :)

today, we get started with olivia's first real crazy story from high school! she takes us back to her junior year, when she got mono two weeks before covid-19 was declared a global pandemic. olivia goes over how missing class can actually be worse than attending in the long run and what to do when your teacher insinuates that you're a slut in front of the entire class. she goes over how to handle people overspeculating on your life and how working so hard to be invisible ended up backfiring. she finishes up on a more serious note discussing the recent school shooting in georgia and why it's so important to humanize the victims in these tragedies.

happy back to school week! today on the introvert's guide to the college rollercoaster ride, olivia discusses her first thoughts on the academic side of college, meeting professors, how her nerves actually forced her to talk in class, the necessity of finding a way to calm yourself down when feeling overwhelmed, the importance of establishing ways to cope with stress, advice on how to not overdo it as well as how to make the most of your college career. she goes over what it was like sliding down a tarp slick with laundry detergent on a pool float and how her roommate ended up in the hospital. she also includes a psa to all freshmen: it's always good to do your best, but it's ok if you're not THE best! she ends off on a comedic note with some of her best "mini stories" from over the years, including dyeing her hair for the first time, setting a chicken sandwich on fire, her mermaids obsession, her cringey musical.ly days, and taking her dog tubing on the lake. get ready for lots of nostalgia, enjoy!
