Today it's time for the John Clay Wolf show.
Bobbo
Look at this.
Caller/Listener
There's nothing.
J.D. Ryan
Look how many blueberries your muffin has and how many mine has. Yours is falling apart.
Caller/Listener
I have nothing.
John Clay Wolf
What are you talking about?
Caller/Listener
How long can this go for?
J.D. Ryan
From now on, I want you to put an equal amount of blueberries in each muffin.
Show Announcer
1, 800, 800 radio.
J.D. Ryan
An equal amount of blueberries in each muffin.
Show Announcer
JCW show dot com.
J.D. Ryan
You know how long that's going to take?
Caller/Listener
How long can this go on now? I don't care how long it takes. Put an equal amount in each muffin.
Show Announcer
John Clay Wolf.
John Clay Wolf
I feel for him.
Caller/Listener
Papa.
John Clay Wolf
Are you ragging on me when you pulled that clip? Because it sounds like something I would say.
J.D. Ryan
Totally does.
Bobbo
I don't remember pulling that clip, John.
Hayden
That's actually AO that did that. But that. That's a great scene.
John Clay Wolf
Morning, everybody. Good morning. How the hell are you? North Carolina, Miami, Georgia, Atlanta, New York City, Jersey, the works. How are y'?
Caller/Listener
All?
Chip Foose
What?
John Clay Wolf
I'm in California, they're in Texas. FYI, you can see us on the stream and jcwshow.com you can guess where I'm located. Oh, it's a secret. It's a game. The first, the first person that calls in and guesses correctly WINS Nothing.
J.D. Ryan
Sure is.
John Clay Wolf
800, 800. 7, 2, 3, 4. 800. We're all just too old for these game shows. I mean, nobody's ever going to win anything anyway. Why don't we just tell them that on the front side? They probably appreciate it more. You're going to win nothing. You're gonna get a handful of D.
Show Announcer
All right.
J.D. Ryan
Good morning, John Clay Wolf.
John Clay Wolf
Now, J.D. we were in a ops meeting this week.
J.D. Ryan
Yes.
John Clay Wolf
And we were all very surprised to hear that on the rating system of our show.
J.D. Ryan
Yes.
John Clay Wolf
That your news bits are very well received. They're highly rated.
J.D. Ryan
Yeah, that's it.
Caller/Listener
That's why?
J.D. Ryan
People tune in. Not Scott.
John Clay Wolf
Did you know that?
J.D. Ryan
Yeah, I didn't until whatever day that was. Tuesday.
John Clay Wolf
I mean. So, guys, I just want you to know, when we go to the news with JFND Ryan, it's a big deal.
J.D. Ryan
It's a big deal.
John Clay Wolf
America is listening, right? I think we should give him a little news right now. Now remember, JF and D. Ryan, don't blow your whole load, right?
J.D. Ryan
Don't do the whole.
John Clay Wolf
Don't blow your best material. You gotta. You gotta show cleavage. But don't show too much news.
J.D. Ryan
Just a little.
John Clay Wolf
Just enough.
J.D. Ryan
Maybe something. We have a video to go with this so you can tune in, actually.
John Clay Wolf
Well, that helps on the radio.
J.D. Ryan
Well, it does, because there's thousands and thousands of people that tune in on the John Claywolf YouTube stream@jcwshow.com and they're. They're tuning in right now to see this video. You ever watch qvc? I didn't know that was still on.
Bobbo
Oh, yeah, yeah.
J.D. Ryan
Qv. Qvc. Well, a woman on QVC was doing a routine, pitching a little wig. You've seen him sell these wigs. So she's running her fingers through the wig saying how lovely and luxurious and how it's. The style is a blowout. You've seen the blowout style?
Bobbo
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
J.D. Ryan
So she's trying to say it's a blowout style, but that's not what she says. Cut number seven.
John Clay Wolf
This wave pattern texture again, it looks like you went and got a job at your blowout at your salon.
Caller/Listener
Oh, my God.
John Clay Wolf
And it looks beautiful. She knows she screwed up, right? We're having a huge beauty sale.
Jeff
I will remind you that this is
John Clay Wolf
a one time only price of $79.
J.D. Ryan
It's your blow out style.
John Clay Wolf
She crosses one more time, Charlie, she
J.D. Ryan
ends up in a ball too. On tv. It's kind of funny.
John Clay Wolf
This wave pattern texture again. It looks like you went and got a job at your blow wow. At your salon. And it looks beautiful.
Jeff
All right, so here's what's happening today.
John Clay Wolf
We're having a huge.
Bobbo
Said it out loud.
J.D. Ryan
Loud and proud. Wow, you went and got a blow out, man.
Hayden
She won the Internet too this week.
J.D. Ryan
Did she really?
John Clay Wolf
Hey, do you have. Speaking of bad bloopers. And I know I'm just calling out of nowhere, but do you have when the plane crashed Blooper. Is that handy? That's the best.
J.D. Ryan
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Something, something long.
J.D. Ryan
Asiana.
Hayden
Give me a minute here.
J.D. Ryan
Basically what happened is when Asiana crashed in San Francisco, terrible situations, a triple seven Landed and crashed actually at the end of the Runway. Oh, and somebody. There we go. And somebody in the television station obviously, in turn, decided, hey, we have the pilots names. We have them first. Get this on the air. The actual pilots names of the guys on board. And then they weren't really the pilots names, actually, but the guy on TV just delivered it like, and here are the pilots. We have this breaking news.
John Clay Wolf
We have new information now, also on the plane crash. KTV has just learned the names of the four pilots who were on board the flight. They are Captain Samuel Sum Ting Wong, We Too Low, Ho Le Fuk, and Bang Ding A. The NTSB has confirmed these are the names of the pilots on board Flight 214 when it crashed. We are working to determine exactly what roles each of them played during the landing on Saturday.
Hayden
God, it's so great because she's so serious about it.
Bobbo
That feels easy to us being outside the deal. I. I feel like I would have known after that first name.
J.D. Ryan
Yeah, you think so?
Bobbo
But you're some Ting Wong.
J.D. Ryan
You're reading the prompter and you're just. And this is breaking news. She's never read it before. So you're reading it just as you're seeing it, and then suddenly it's that moment of, oh, no.
John Clay Wolf
Anchorman.
J.D. Ryan
Yeah, anchorman. Exactly what it is.
John Clay Wolf
Good evening, San Diego. Go F yourself.
J.D. Ryan
Have you ever read a prompter?
John Clay Wolf
My name's Ron Burgundy.
J.D. Ryan
If anybody ever read a prompter. I mean, because it's not. It's. First of all, it's not easy because somebody else is rolling the words by at your pace, hopefully.
Hayden
Yeah.
J.D. Ryan
And then you're really focused on just getting the words out.
Hayden
Yeah. Yeah. In college, I had to do that for one of the classes. And that's the thing, is the speed. If they go too fast, you.
J.D. Ryan
You lose track.
Hayden
Slow. You're kind of slow your talk down.
Satan
Right.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
We have new information now. Also on the plane crash. KTV has just learned the names of the four pilots who were on board the flight. They are Captain Samuel Sum Ting Wong, We Too Low, Ho Le Fook, and Bang Ding Ow.
Hayden
Bang Ding Ow.
J.D. Ryan
Bang Ding Ow.
Bobbo
We too roll.
J.D. Ryan
He was the navigator.
Bobbo
It's crazy.
John Clay Wolf
I mean, what happened in D.C. at the White House? Did. Did Trump. Did they halt his ballroom? Are you familiar with it?
J.D. Ryan
Yeah.
Caller/Listener
The.
J.D. Ryan
The what? Some court. I don't know how the courts get involved in this, but, yes, they've. They've now for a while, at least, until they figure a way around it. Pause. The. The building of the ballroom. So what are you gonna do now if you pause it? I mean, it's a mess.
Bobbo
The east wing is gone.
J.D. Ryan
It's a construction site. Yeah.
Bobbo
Might as well finish it.
J.D. Ryan
Somebody. Yeah, but somebody's just trying to make their. Their name. Some judge somewhere got involved. Yes. The answer is yes.
John Clay Wolf
Who is the one that built the first one?
Caller/Listener
This.
John Clay Wolf
This happened before years ago.
Show Announcer
Oh, yeah.
J.D. Ryan
Every president has done something. I mean, there was 10. There's been tennis courts. There have been bowling alleys. There have been basketball courts. That was Obama. There have been all kinds of different things. They. They've built that. It was on their name and given to them. But I don't know who else built a ballroom. I don't think anyone.
John Clay Wolf
Is Obama's basketball court still there?
J.D. Ryan
I don't know.
Bobbo
I don't think so.
Hayden
I don't see Trump playing basketball.
J.D. Ryan
No.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah. I mean, did Obama, like, have an entourage? Kind of like, did you ever see the Chappelle skit with Prince when they went and played hoops?
J.D. Ryan
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
After hours.
J.D. Ryan
Oh, you know, he did, you know.
Hayden
Yeah, he did have his friends come by and then he'd have NBA players come by. Why not?
J.D. Ryan
I mean, I think next.
John Clay Wolf
Oh, I would if I was Obama.
J.D. Ryan
Hell yeah. Nixon had the ball.
John Clay Wolf
I'm a white guy. Thanks for clarifying.
J.D. Ryan
They've all done something. Yeah, they all do something. So people go, well, it's not his house. Well, yeah, but you get to decorate it while you're in there.
Hayden
It's like a rental. Right?
J.D. Ryan
It's kind of like a rental.
Bobbo
It's always been a part of it. The Clintons were so fond of the things in the White House that they tried to move all the furniture out when they left.
J.D. Ryan
They tried to take some of them with them when they left.
Caller/Listener
Right.
Bobbo
With that and a couple of the scandals that we had over that eight year period. You know, a lot of people insist that Bill Clinton was technically the first black president.
J.D. Ryan
Stop it.
Bobbo
I'm serious.
John Clay Wolf
Well, he has a. Yeah. He has a black son.
Bobbo
Is that right?
John Clay Wolf
What? That's very right. Have y' all not seen this guy? He's half. Half. Do you call that mulatto?
Caller/Listener
Is that right?
Bobbo
Stymie Clinton.
John Clay Wolf
So. No, no, no. Straight up during the break. We're going to break right now. Look it up. Bill Clinton's son. And he will not take a DNA test. This guy looks so much like him, it's. It's ridiculous. And he's like, bill Clinton is my son. He had sex with my mother and Da Da, da. And she's verified it. And I mean, you look at the picture.
J.D. Ryan
Danny Williams Clinton is a man from Arkansas who has long claimed to be the biological out of wedlock son of former president Bill Clinton. However, investigative reports and mainstream media notes that DNA tests from a past legal proceeding ruled out. Nah.
Bobbo
So who's refusing the test? The son or Bill Clinton? Because I would think what we know about Clinton, I would think Bill Clinton's happy to make a deposit any way at any time possible.
John Clay Wolf
Absolutely. Have you seen the picture, Jenny?
J.D. Ryan
No. I'm looking here. Oh, my God.
Commercial Announcer
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Holy cry.
Caller/Listener
All right.
John Clay Wolf
Right, right. I mean, come on.
J.D. Ryan
Oh, my God, dude.
John Clay Wolf
No, it's ridiculous. It's ridiculous how we post that on our Facebook.
Caller/Listener
Yes, I will.
John Clay Wolf
Right now it's John Clay. John Clay Wolf show on Facebook. And coming back is the lightning round where I bid the cars for America's best car buyer. Give me the VIN 800. So if you call in right now, 8008-0072-3480-0800-7234. Eight hundred, 800 radio is what that spells out. And yes, we're live right now. It's 5, 6. Right now. It's 7, 8, 7. 16 in the morning. No, it's 816 in the morning on the East Coast. I'm in California, by the way. A little early year make, model, miles, average, rougher, clean. Year make, model, miles, average, rougher, clean. Call me, call me on your car and I'll give you an offer right here on the radio for new listeners that don't know what the hell we're doing. It'll make sense when you hear it. But it's a quick segment. It's a fun segment. And expensive cars, the more expensive the better, actually. Lamborghinis, all that crap. We do a lot of that. We do Camrys, we do Kias, we do diesel trucks, classic cars. All of it@givemetheven.com but you can call it right now and I will judge your car. The judge, like the Pontiac GTO judge? I'm the judge of car values calling right now, and I'll give you the judgment. 8008-0072-3480-0800 radio. And this, my friends, is the Brothers Johnson Strawberry Letter. 233 or 22? 2323. And I bet they got a basketball court to.
Show Announcer
Now back to the John Clay Wolf show, presented by GiveMe the Vid.com hit him up right now. 1. 800, 800 radio. 1800, 800 radio. This is the John Clay Wolf show.
John Clay Wolf
And this is the Lightning round. This is where we're going to do the car stuff. This is where we get down to business. Dennis in Reading, Pennsylvania, are you there?
Caller/Listener
Yes, sir, I'm here.
John Clay Wolf
What have you got?
Caller/Listener
So I have a 2014 Z28 Camaro I bought new.
John Clay Wolf
How many miles?
Caller/Listener
1600 miles.
John Clay Wolf
What color is it? Black, red and what? There were a couple. There were like two or three equipment options on those cars and I forgot what they are.
Caller/Listener
It has ac, that was the only option. With or without ac, which gave you the radio as well. But a radio.
John Clay Wolf
Does 50 grand buy it?
Caller/Listener
Say that again.
John Clay Wolf
Does 50 grand buy it?
Caller/Listener
No, we have to be more than that. I'm sorry, how much? You'd have to be closer to 57 to be honest with you.
John Clay Wolf
To 5. 7 is that we said.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Are you in Reading or are you in Philly?
Caller/Listener
No, I'm in Reading. I'm Sinking Spring. It's a suburb already.
John Clay Wolf
Well, I gave 62 for a 12 with 600 miles on it. Did you hear that show I was doing with Jay Leno the other day and the guy called him.
Caller/Listener
Yep.
Yeah, Yeah. I thought it was a 15. It was a 2015.
John Clay Wolf
What year did they make them? I get confused.
Caller/Listener
14 and 15. They made only two years.
John Clay Wolf
Okay, then you're right, it was a 15. Yours has 1200 miles?
Caller/Listener
No, no. 1600.
John Clay Wolf
What about 55 grand?
Caller/Listener
You can't do any better than that?
John Clay Wolf
I can go 56 if you'll bring it to me. Not in Texas, but in Maryland or Philly or Manheim, Pennsylvania. Those are my locations up there.
Caller/Listener
55. And you'll pick it up?
John Clay Wolf
Yep.
Caller/Listener
Let's do it.
John Clay Wolf
Do you think I did okay?
Chip Foose
I think you did great.
John Clay Wolf
He thinks I did okay. All right, let's do one more real quick. All right, Pre K, grab him on one. So y' all get his information. Joe, in New York City. Are you like in the city?
Caller/Listener
Yes, I am. I'm in Brooklyn, New York.
John Clay Wolf
And this 66 Mustangs been sitting in storage for how many years?
Caller/Listener
About 10 years. It's in Pennsylvania. Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania.
John Clay Wolf
So it's just a six cylinder stick or an automatic? It's just a regular car?
Caller/Listener
No, no, it's an eight cylinder 289. Automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, vinyl top. It's got the pony interior with the console. That's basically. I modified the brakes. I upgraded the brakes. Rather put an extra cylinder in there, new shocks and springs. It's nice, but it's about a 15 footer, you know, you got the. It was a poor restoration maybe 20 years ago.
John Clay Wolf
Right.
Caller/Listener
But you know, just the little rust around the rear whale wells, you know, it's not a rust bucket. It was an indoor storage. As a matter of fact, it was even temperature controlled. I'm replacing the gas tank because the gas was sitting in there.
John Clay Wolf
When's the last time it started?
Caller/Listener
What's that?
John Clay Wolf
When's the last time it started and drove? When's the last time it saw the road?
Caller/Listener
It sort of wrote about 10 years ago, but again, right now my mechanic is working on it and, you know, simple, like I said, changing the gas tank, a battery tune up, it should be no problem.
John Clay Wolf
Oil change, the paint, rust. So I've got to repaint it. You know what that cost, and I don't know if it's worth repainting.
Caller/Listener
Okay.
John Clay Wolf
Does eight grand buy it?
Caller/Listener
Well, the thing is the. The paint, like I say, it's a ten foot. It looks great from ten feet away. It could be a daily driver.
John Clay Wolf
I hear you. You know, when I sell it, they're gonna walk up to one foot and they're gonna point out all the problems. Hey, John, this car's got rust on it. It's fine. I'm not knocking on it. I'm just trying to value it. Does eight grand buy it?
Caller/Listener
I hear you. We can do a little better. We can maybe talk.
John Clay Wolf
We're talking now. This is live, baby. This. We're in a boxing ring. You and me.
Caller/Listener
Okay?
John Clay Wolf
Celebrity death match, me versus Joe in the Bronx or Brooklyn. Excuse me?
Caller/Listener
You don't hear Rocky music in the background?
John Clay Wolf
I hear it. I hear it. You're wanting to call your wife and talk to her about it. Let's do something.
Caller/Listener
No, no, no. So then let's. Let's get closer to 10 or 11 and then we could possibly do something.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. I'm gonna put a marker on it at 10 with a look, and you're gonna go get me pictures and videos and send them over.
Caller/Listener
Okay. That sounds fast.
John Clay Wolf
I just. There's a lot of variable in what you're telling me, and I need to see it. And I don't have to do this properly on this car. I need 10 minutes worth of airtime and I can't do it for 10 minutes. Do you have a comment?
Caller/Listener
Okay, okay, but. Right. Some pictures would help you out.
John Clay Wolf
Oh, a lot. Have you ever. Would you marry a woman without seeing photos of her?
Caller/Listener
Depends.
John Clay Wolf
On? Based on her. Her mother's description of what a great girl she is and how she's been getting in shape, but you forgot to ask. You know how she's lost 20 pounds, but you forgot to ask how many pounds she was before she lost 20. All right, you get my.
Chip Foose
How's the floors in this car?
Caller/Listener
Floors are good. Was. I didn't have. But to be honest, I didn't have it up on the lift. But, you know, when I bought the car, I did. And the car's been in storage, you know, but I did use the car for about 10, 15 years. I had a car in New York and then opportunity for some, you know, storage out PA and I do have a house in PA where it's been. I use it in PA but hasn't seen 23 years that I had foosh.
John Clay Wolf
You know what I like about this guy? He's got some money or he wouldn't have a couple of houses.
Chip Foose
So he's.
John Clay Wolf
He's a realist. It's the guy that, like, bought this car to make his dream come true, and he wants every last inch of it. That's the one that's harder to buy from fastback.
Caller/Listener
It's a coupe. It's a coup. It's just that, you know, I'm.
John Clay Wolf
Chip said it's a girl's carrots and
Caller/Listener
black vinyl roof because it's nice.
John Clay Wolf
The black vinyl roof did not help the argument that it's a girl's car. Is it automatic or stick?
Caller/Listener
Oh, okay. Automatic.
Chip Foose
Designed to be a secretary's car.
John Clay Wolf
I know he's got the secretary's car. Is it a stick or an automatic?
Caller/Listener
Automatic.289 automatic power steering, power brakes.
John Clay Wolf
Comes with free lessons to the singer typing school.
Chip Foose
Yeah, if it was fast back, it'd be double the money.
John Clay Wolf
Oh, absolutely. That's why. That's why I'm dragging ass on this. I mean, Joe and I are. I'm not wrong. We. Let's see the pictures, Joe. That's what everything's gonna boil down to. These pics. You know what I'm thinking? I know what you're thinking. I'm a. You're. You're 10 to 11. Let's.
Show Announcer
Let's see.
John Clay Wolf
Let's unveil the woman and see what she really looks like. Do this, do this. Go to.
Hayden
Go to.
John Clay Wolf
Go to my Facebook page. See if you want to have some fun. John Clay Wolf. Show and post pictures of her and say she's pretty, as I said, and let all our fans judge.
Chip Foose
Show us the rest of this car.
John Clay Wolf
Yes, show us the rest of this car. Thank you, guys. Go to givemetheven.com and load it up. The name. The name of the website is Give me the v I N. Give me the VIN. Give me the VIN.com. good morning, New York. Hey, if you guys hadn't figured out where I'm sitting yet, I'm sitting here at 5. What time is it? 5:30 in the morning.
Chip Foose
5:30.
John Clay Wolf
I've been here since 4:15 in Huntington Beach, California. And I'm sitting in Dr. Chip Dr. Foose's shop. If you're ever a fan of overhauling or building cars. And you know Chip Fous, he's a good friend of mine. I'm actually doing the show from his garage right this minute. He's going to be here for another hour. And if you have any questions for Chip, call in and we'll take them before he leaves. You're going to a car show, right?
Chip Foose
I'm going to a swap meet. All right, early Ford V8 club.
John Clay Wolf
We'll be right back. My name's John Clay Wolfe. I buy cars and radio for America's best car buyer. GiveMeTheVin.com.
Show Announcer

John Clay Wolf
to call for our brother to meet
Jeff
us back up here.
John Clay Wolf
First time's a charm, right? Yeah.
Chip Foose
His last name is horn.
John Clay Wolf
First name is Gabe. You know his middle name. His middle name is itch. Yeah, Gabe itch.
Show Announcer
This is the John Clay wolf Show, the number one rated Saturday morning show online at jcwshow.com and on the phone at 800. 800 radio. Give me the bins.
John Clay Wolf
Gabe is his first name and itch.
J.D. Ryan
Yes.
John Clay Wolf
Is his middle name, middle name and horn is his last name?
Caller/Listener
Yes.
Bobbo
Gabe Horn.
John Clay Wolf
Ted in Rhode Island.
Caller/Listener
Yes, sir.
John Clay Wolf
This is so ironic. I'm sitting here. Do you know who Chip Foose is? The car builder, of course. Okay. Of course, of course. Let me get you on the camera. So we're sitting here last night. We went to dinner last night. We're waiting on our wives to pick us up. And he's got a 68 or a 69. 69 Firebird sitting out there that he built when you were 20.
Chip Foose
I built it in 88.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. And it's a 400. And we were talking about the guy sold it to for 12,000.
Chip Foose
In 92.
John Clay Wolf
In 92 that wants a gazillion dollars for it. And I made the comment To Chip, I said, he thinks he has Elvis's Cadillac. And, you know, and Chip understood what I was saying. But. But he. He may have Elvis's Cadillac. Because when Chip's long and gone, will these cars of foose go up in value? Yeah.
Caller/Listener
How much?
John Clay Wolf
Who knows? But we were talking about the value of it. So You've got a 68 Firebird with a 400. Is it a manual or is it a 4 speed or a 3 speed? Or did they make it?
Caller/Listener
It's a 400. 400. Matching numbers. Car.
John Clay Wolf
Automatic, 3 AC.
Bobbo
Automatic.
John Clay Wolf
Oh, 400 training. I got it. Yeah, it's automatic. He said automatic.
Chip Foose
Said automatic.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. Factory ac. And on a scale of one to ten, how good is the paint?
Caller/Listener
It's very good. Driver plus. Plus quality. It's so. It's nice. You can. You can get up on it. Not like a Mustang in New York where you got to stand 15ft away.
John Clay Wolf
And what would you call the paint on this car, Chip? On a scale of 1 to 10, the one we were looking at last night? 7.
Caller/Listener
7.
Chip Foose
8.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Same kind of. I'm taking his description as the same. What color is yours?
Caller/Listener
That's. That's where. That's. That's where we are. 789 with a black vinyl roof.
John Clay Wolf
And was that the number on the bill sheet?
Caller/Listener
Yep.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. Automatic. All right. So the interior, has it been redone? Does it need redone?
Caller/Listener
Nope. It's all 100 black. It's all really nice. The car's ready to retail.
John Clay Wolf
Are you a dealer?
Caller/Listener
Wholesaler in your world? Yeah, I am, actually. This car's on consignment. I just wanted to get your word for it.
John Clay Wolf
Huh. Does 18 grand buy?
Caller/Listener
Not really. It's. It's. It's. I think it's close to 30 in his. In his world. Yeah. I posted a picture. There's two pictures. If you look back in your.
John Clay Wolf
What world are we in?
Caller/Listener
Facebook. Who.
John Clay Wolf
Whose world is it? 30.
Caller/Listener
I think it's an actually mid-30s car also. Huh.
John Clay Wolf
Well, I can't make it work from there being an automatic. And I sell that car for low to mid-20s, maybe up or sometimes, but not with an automatic. And I. Do you ever. Do you ever log into our auction lane as a dealer and buyer cars?
Bobbo
I have.
John Clay Wolf
So you know exactly what I do with it, and you know exactly what I sell them for. So you think that thing's going to bring 35 grand in my lane?
Caller/Listener
No, not in your lane. I'm saying end of the world there.
John Clay Wolf
But who Are you calling.
Caller/Listener
Else buys it. I wanted to get your number on it.
John Clay Wolf
All right, so what are we doing? So are you calling me just to straighten out your customer?
Caller/Listener
A little bit of both.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. You know how it works in our world. So you're an insider. You're a wise guy. You're a good fellow. Right? So I'm gonna put you on hold, and Pre K is gonna take your number. He's gonna send you my mailing address. You're gonna send me a check for 250 because I don't work for free. Thank you. Thank you. Little consulting check never hurt anybody. Good morning, everybody. 8008-0072-3480-0800. Radio bill in New Hampshire, 66 El Camino factory big block. 396 now has a 356 turbo. Blah, blah, blah, blah. Is it 15 grand?
Caller/Listener
No, it was a factory 396. Yeah, he threw me on that one. I bought it, like, in the retirement. I'm restoring a 66 Chevelle SS, which is kind of my golden dream. The El Camino was a start on it. Body solid, class three. He had a water pump, went down, got the wrong water pump, came back. He said, give me the casting number off the engine. Found out it's a DZ block. I don't know if you're familiar with it.
John Clay Wolf
What's that? Oh, Z28. Yeah. So, like, what you put in your. In your C28?
Chip Foose
Yeah, my. But that was 67, which is an MO block.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. See, I've got it. You know, like, he's my Helen Keller. He'll transcribe all this stuff for me. So how much is this car?
Caller/Listener
How much. How much do I need to get to sell it to you?
John Clay Wolf
Yes. Yes. That's what we're doing here.
Caller/Listener
Okay, let's see. The car is solid with the rock. It does have a. It has the snap down the side for the tunnel.
John Clay Wolf
Charlie, play the bid.
Chip Foose
Let me tell you what Melbourne Post
John Clay Wolf
is packing right here.
Show Announcer
All right?
Chip Foose
We got 411 posi track out back. 750 double pumper, Edelbrock intake scored over 30.
John Clay Wolf
11 to 1 popup pistons, turbojet. 390 horsepower.
Bobbo
We're talking some muscle.
John Clay Wolf
All right, Bill, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, how much is the car?
Caller/Listener
All right. 19,000 bucks.
John Clay Wolf
Listen, 15. You thought I was crazy. Oh, my God. I got to talk to you for a half hour and tell you about this. Okay. I don't own it for 19, but I will take a look. I think the car brings 17.
Chip Foose
I think I'll just gonna say 17.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah. I mean, I think bill's a little high. And is pot illegal up there in new hampshire, Bill?
Caller/Listener
I don't know. I'm a trustee member. Bill.
John Clay Wolf
Loaded in the go to actually send this one to a different website because my el camino specialist will receive the email. And he. He does a lot of. He's really good with GM stuff. Like give me the VIN. So that's GMTV CC. Classic collector. Gmtvcc.com you guys with the classic collectors, throw them in that one. Gmtvcc. And this fellow named hot rod kyle. You might see him in our videos. He helps me a lot. He'll hang numbers on these cars. He's not going to give you 19. So if you know you won't sell for less than 19, don't waste your Internet. But if you're serious about selling it, he'll hang a number on his right. And it's going to be right. It's going to be leaning more towards where I said because we've got to figure in shipping all in the stuff. Well, when you see it, bring 19 at Barrett Jackson. You know that. That doesn't mean you got 19. That means they sold it for 17. Five plus a buy fee. And it shows 19. You didn't get the buy fee. You had to pay the thousand transport to get it there. You had to pay the 350 staging fee. You had to pay 350 for your hotel room. You had to pay a thousand dollars for flights. And then you had to buy your wife $2,700 worth of something while y' all were there because you were on vacation.
Chip Foose
19,000 in your fees. Seller fee. Right.
John Clay Wolf
All right, thanks, guys. We'll be right back. My name is john claywolf by cars on the radio. I'm sitting here at foose designs in huntington beach, California, early this morning. Caller/Listener
About the car.
John Clay Wolf
Is there anything I need to know? Does it stall? Does it smoke? Does it make a lot of noise?
Hayden
Is there gas?
John Clay Wolf
Is it anything aside from how it looks?
Caller/Listener
The car. Cool. Positive.
Show Announcer

I'm actually doing the show from his shop. If you guys were friends of overhauling or any of his work, we're in Huntington beach. And let's just jump into. Mark. Mark, South Carolina, you there?
Caller/Listener
Yes, sir, I'm right here. How y' all doing this morning?
John Clay Wolf
I'm good. I see on the note here it said you wanted. You've got a 17, 14, 000 mile ZL1 Camaro. And you're curious what they'll be worth down the road.
Caller/Listener
Now down the road, down the road. Big Camaro guy. Had him my whole life.
John Clay Wolf
I'm more of a transaction guy. I'm more of a. I'm more of a transaction guy. So you're. You. You know, they've got those car shows on AM radio where you can call and ask the guy stupid questions. They'll give you stupid that you're on the wrong show. No, no, listen, I gotta.
Caller/Listener
I got a really good deal on this car from a guy down in Florida. Yeah, Maybe he was going through a divorce or something, but I gotta pass
Chip Foose
that deal on it.
Caller/Listener
So. So. Well, maybe so. That's what I'm saying. It's automatic, it's loaded back nightfall gray. You know, it will throw you in the back seat, right? You know, so what kind of money are we looking for one of these? 14,000 miles, brand new Pirelli.
John Clay Wolf
What's it take to buy? Because it doesn't sound like you're gonna pass the hell of a deal on that much. But you. But how? Let's do the math backwards. Let's do the math backwards. Let's do the math backwards. Hang on. Let's just forget about anything. How much money do you want to make on this car? I mean, all you can, but what would you be comfortable with? But if don't tell me what you
Caller/Listener
pay and enjoys it,
John Clay Wolf
I'll stop with enjoying. Oh, stop, Stop. Just stop. You wanted to go to a good home. We're not adopting dogs.
Chip Foose
How much, Patty, do you want in
Caller/Listener
your wallet at the end of the day? If I put five grand in my pocket, I'm a happy camper.
John Clay Wolf
What did you pay for it? Don't lie. Hang on. Before you answer that question, I want you to look up in the rearview mirror, your car, and say, I promise the man. I wouldn't lie.
Caller/Listener
I'm looking. I've got a. I got a Ford tractor behind me that's telling me I got to get to the hunting club and go push off.
John Clay Wolf
Okay, but. But what did you pay for it? And don't lie.
Caller/Listener
58.
John Clay Wolf
Oh, you're lying again. Why are you lying to me? You don't have to lie to me.
Chip Foose
We're friends. You said you got a hell of a deal.
John Clay Wolf
That's not a hell of a deal. That's just.
Chip Foose
That's the. The seller who got a hell of a deal.
Caller/Listener
I bought it. Whoa, whoa, John, John, John. I bought it with three, 200 miles on it.
John Clay Wolf
Okay, so you want to make five grand after putting 10,000 miles on it.
Caller/Listener
Enjoyable. 10,000 miles.
John Clay Wolf
All right. I am. I will give. I. Because it's you. Yeah, because it's you. And you and I go so far back. I'll give you 55,000. And I won't give you 55 1. And I won't give you 50 5. 2. And you're gonna bring it to me.
Caller/Listener
Gosh. Is tip there?
John Clay Wolf
Yes.
Chip Foose
You know, when you bring it to him, those are enjoyable miles.
Bobbo
Yes.
John Clay Wolf
Chips here. Chip's right here. He's the one with that line. That was a pretty good line. All right. Go hunting. Go hunting.
Caller/Listener
Hey, guys. Hey. I love. Hey. I love y' all show. I just found it a couple weeks ago. You're doing a great job. We love you here in Charleston.
John Clay Wolf

Caller/Listener
Y' all take care, man.
Chip Foose
My daughter enjoy.
John Clay Wolf

Caller/Listener
Well, no, we're full. No.
John Clay Wolf
So actually, you can deliver it to her house. I'll send the check to her and she can hand it to you. She's moving in Monday. All right. Mark.
Chip Foose

John Clay Wolf
55. She's 22 year old, perv.
Hayden
I better hang up on him real quick.
John Clay Wolf
8008-0072-3480-0800 radio. Dylan in Maine. 100, 000 mile 2004 SSR interior, cowhide with alligator seats. Now, Dylan in Maine, I would expect to get this phone call from a man customized. I would expect to get this phone call from a man in Louisiana, but not from Maine.
Caller/Listener
I have Maine phone number. I'm actually in Virginia.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. Little appellation in the blood somewhere. Okay, it's making a little more sense. Was your grandmother from Louisiana?
Caller/Listener
No, she's from Russia.
Bobbo
No,
John Clay Wolf
this. The 100, 000 mile SSR is worth ten grand.
Caller/Listener
Okay, I have done a Lot to it, you know, improvement wise.
John Clay Wolf
Oh, no.
Hayden
Oh, you lost him.
Caller/Listener
Oh, hell.
Chip Foose
We need to hear about more of
John Clay Wolf
those improvements we didn't get to. I really don't want to hear about improvements on an alligator seated.
Chip Foose
10 grand. And he can keep the interior.
John Clay Wolf
800, 800. 7, 2, 3, 4. Do I have time for one more?
Hayden
Yeah, real quick, Adam.
John Clay Wolf
All right, Don. In Georgia. Where in Georgia are you?
Caller/Listener
Yes, I am in middle Georgia around Macon.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. 58 Bel Air. Twoo. Is it a post?
Caller/Listener
No, it's a two door sport coupe, hard top.
John Clay Wolf
Oh. 700 transmission. Car has been restored paint and reupholstered seats. Has new in the box. Tail lights stuck at the end of the rest of. Oh, you haven't finished it yet. Oh, I love these. When they can't quite get there to the finish line and they want me to finish this Never happened to you, has it Chip Fish? Ever.
Chip Foose
I have bought a lot of projects.
John Clay Wolf
It's only these 10.
Caller/Listener
One part of this car that's stumping me that I can't figure out. So. And it's all chrome for the windows.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah, that's all paid for.
Chip Foose
If you had the money, you'd pay somebody to finish it for you.
Caller/Listener
I would.
John Clay Wolf
I was thinking about calling tip to
Caller/Listener
see if he wanted to finish it for me.
John Clay Wolf
Bring it out, boy. Wait till you get the bill, boy.
Chip Foose
What do you want for it?
Caller/Listener
30 for it.
John Clay Wolf
I mean, it all depends on how far you've taken it, what motors you put, what motor you put in all that good stuff. Do this. Go to gmtvcc.com I need to get you your, your, your own URL. Show Announcer
John Clay wolf.
John Clay Wolf
This is Joe Walsh Foose. I'VE got Chip Foose sitting here with me. You've been exposed to a lot of musicians. Did the Eagle. Eagle met Joe Walsh.
Chip Foose
I've never met him. Yeah, I've seen him live now.
John Clay Wolf
Michael Anthony's Carson here from Van Halen, isn't it?
Chip Foose
I've met him a lot. That's a picture of his car with the guitar that we built.
John Clay Wolf
Oh, yeah. What year was that?
Chip Foose
That would have been about 95 when I was at Boyd's.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah.
Chip Foose
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Good morning, America. How the hell are you? Thanks for joining us. I'm sitting here with Chip Foose in Huntington beach at Foose Design. No s. And we were talking a minute ago about the Cars Land in Disney. Did they do Radiator Springs in Orlando?
Chip Foose
No, but they built a hotel based on the Cars theme.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. In Orlando?
Chip Foose
Yes.
John Clay Wolf
Is it called Cars or something?
Chip Foose
I forget what the name of the hotel is. But they flew me down there and I had to lay out all the graphics because in the first two films, Cars 1 and Cars 2, I designed the graphics for Ramon and also Lightning McQueen.
John Clay Wolf
Gotcha.
Chip Foose
So I went down there to lay out all the flames for the Ramon. The full size. That's at the. At that hotel. They've got full size vehicles that. That are on the property.
John Clay Wolf
And was that the place where you got kidnapped?
Chip Foose
That was a different story. That was when we.
John Clay Wolf
But it was Florida, wasn't it? Yes, just a little bit. What happened?
Chip Foose
We had.
John Clay Wolf
You got kidnapped by a super fan.
Chip Foose
Yes. We launched the Foo Stallions at a dealership down there. And there was a lady that was involved with the marketing team, and she was responsible for taking me after the event, which was an evening, you know, I ended up in the evening, and she was supposed to take me back to the hotel. Well, she took me to about 15 different places to introduce me to all of her friends.
John Clay Wolf
And you're so nice. You just went along with it.
Chip Foose
I'm like, when am I gonna get back? And then eventually we go to one place and her husband shows up and he's ticked off.
John Clay Wolf
Right.
Chip Foose
You know, what are you doing hauling Chip Foose around?
John Clay Wolf
Right.
Chip Foose
And so I'm in this, you know, vapor lock. There's this dispute going on between a husband and wife. And I'm kind of in the middle, like, I just want to get to my hotel.
John Clay Wolf
Was he, like, accusing her of having feelings for you?
Chip Foose
Yes.
John Clay Wolf
Oh, wow. So not only did you get kidnapped and drug around and shown to all the friends and in laws, our family members, then the husband comes in to kick the door. And to say, why are you screwing my wife?
Chip Foose
Oh, I was not going on.
John Clay Wolf
I know it.
Chip Foose
But. But he was making sure that it wasn't. Wasn't going to go on.
John Clay Wolf
Now, we talk about paint jobs a lot. Where would you score her on a scale of one to ten?
Chip Foose
She was about a seven.
John Clay Wolf
Okay, so she was. She was. She wasn't a three.
Bobbo
No.
John Clay Wolf
So he had something to kind of be worried about. And she was really into you. Like, my wife is infatuated with Leonardo DiCaprio.
Chip Foose
Okay.
John Clay Wolf
And, like, if they took off for
Caller/Listener
a while,
Chip Foose
would you. Would you hunt her down?
John Clay Wolf
No. No, I just let. I just let it go. Just. What the hell are you gonna do? I mean, really, if they want to
Chip Foose
go, they're gonna go.
John Clay Wolf
If they want to go, they're gonna go. And she's told me with. With that one that she wants to go. Yeah, I mean, like, it's not, like, have an intimate relationship.
Chip Foose
So when you're done.
John Clay Wolf
She hasn't said that to me anyway.
Chip Foose
But you're done. You're just gonna take her to some place that you know he's gonna be at.
John Clay Wolf
Or give her to the lady that took you around. Look, who's that, right? To give her to the lady that you. That kidnapped you. Give her $300 and say, find Leonardo DiCaprio.
Chip Foose
You don't have to say a word. Just look, hon.
John Clay Wolf
Blind Dorian in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Blind Dorian in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. How's your eyesight this morning?
Caller/Listener
Same. They don't work, but we had some violent weather up here. How's the weather down in Texas, down at Durant?
John Clay Wolf
Hot. Damn hot. Hot and wet. Okay. If you're with a woman, but not worth a damn if you're in the jungle.
Caller/Listener
Well, I'll be with one after the show's done. I'll be with Angela.
John Clay Wolf
Are you still hanging out at the strip bar in Pitts?
Caller/Listener
Yes.
John Clay Wolf
Good for you. So, I mean, do they lie to you about what they look like?
Caller/Listener
No. The girl and the girls, the reputation. I. I was. When I was. I had vision. And now everyone knows that I'm blind and good. But the girls.
John Clay Wolf
How long ago did you have vision?
Chip Foose
How's your braille system?
Caller/Listener
No, I. I didn't learn braille. I. I went. I was diagnosed as 74 with an incurable disease, retinitis pigmentosa. I didn't go blind till late 2009. What I'm asking, I wanted to do in between.
John Clay Wolf
How many years ago has it been since you lost your sight?
Caller/Listener
18 years.
John Clay Wolf
Okay.
Chip Foose
And you're but he only stopped driving two years ago.
John Clay Wolf
But he's basing the looks off of these strippers that are charging him off of what they looked like 18 years ago. See, this is kind of like these car restorations.
Caller/Listener
They're all babes.
John Clay Wolf
Thank you. Blind door.
Caller/Listener
I think friends. I take my seeing friends and they say, how, how do you get all these girls? I said, well, we got them blind and they know it. They like me. I'm a big tiffer.
J.D. Ryan
All right.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah, there you go. Eric In Long Island, New York, you've got a Celine convertible, supercharged, a 2005 Mustang with 2400 miles. You've got a stick and you've got a 70 splitty Camaro. No engine at the moment. And a roller. Had all interior and bodywork done. Needs powertrain.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Then it's good to go. He wants to foose it. Okay, we're sitting here with Chip foose and. And what's your name? Eric in Long island wants to send it to Chip. Now. I. I can bid. I can bid the car for what chips bill will be. From what you just described. What do you think Chip's bill would be for you to. For him to finish now? He's good. You need to put a LS or an LT in it. If it doesn't have a motor. I mean, you don't want to put it back to original, do you?
Caller/Listener
No, I. It came. It came with a one year only, 402 big block. But I have no transmission.
John Clay Wolf
I don't know. But it needs paint. Interior,
Caller/Listener
no paint, interiors done.
Chip Foose
What color?
John Clay Wolf
What kind?
Caller/Listener
Excuse me?
John Clay Wolf
Color. Is it dark?
Caller/Listener
It's like the old 1970 Monte Carlo Blue. That color blue.
John Clay Wolf
When you say you want to foose it, what do you want to do to it? You want to wheel it and you want them to put it together.
Caller/Listener
I want to make a package deal or have Chip foose foose it.
John Clay Wolf
Dr. Foose. All right, well, do this. Go to givemetheven.com and load it up. Load two different cars. The Mustang is simple. We can do that immediately. The. The dude. Dude. This is complicated. But go to givemetheven.com and load up the Mustang. The saline. The saline. And then on the 70 Camaro split bumper. I want you to go to jcw buys.com, which is my personal thing, and load that one up and because that one's complicated because it's a project.
Caller/Listener
All right.
Satan
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Curtis in Florida. You've got it. You're looking for A Firehawk. Well, have you ever heard of Auto Trader or Hemmings or Mecham?
Caller/Listener
All right, don't. All right, all right. Don't make fun of me now, all right?
John Clay Wolf
I'm not making fun. I just. What you want, what you want? You want me to find you a deal. That's why y' all call me. I'm looking for about it. I'm like, well, just look, look,
Caller/Listener
all I'm saying. I was a security guard at a place in Punta Gorda, Florida. Car show auction.
Chip Foose
Tell us your best story.
Caller/Listener
Okay, they had one there, right? It was a 2002. It was a 2002 Firehawk Red. It only had 7500 miles on it. And I think there was only 15 to 1700 sold that year at pretty much the last year of Pontiac.
John Clay Wolf
Where are we going with this?
Caller/Listener
That's what I'm looking for.
John Clay Wolf
Okay, well, just start searching. I don't have it. I mean, if somebody calls in, I'll buy one. But you're not gonna want to pay what I pay. Here's what happens on these deals. You want to bargain and that's great. Everybody wants a bargain. And then you want me to find you a bargain. But then I wind up paying more than what you would even pay me for. And that's why I just auction them all off. Because I get so tired of talking to people. It's just mind numbing. I can't tell you how many times.
Chip Foose
That's your job.
John Clay Wolf
I can't tell you how many times that I, you know, last week it happened twice. These guys came in, they want to buy this 454 SS. He said his pretty girlfriend or wife up to the block. What we sell it to me for before the auction. I drove all the way in from Carolina for this car. She's good looking too, and. And I'm a big fan. Big fan. You know, like taking her boobs and rub. Big fan. And I'm like, just bid.
Chip Foose
Did you tell her you weren't blind?
John Clay Wolf
Just bid. Just bid. And then, and then when she sat down next to her boyfriend, I was like, ah. He sent her up here. He knew what he was doing. And so they got outbid by $3,000.
Chip Foose
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
All that for nothing. I mean, unless I got my boob, a boob rubbed on my shoulder so it wasn't for nothing, but. And then it just happens all the time. And then we bring them to the auction and they're like, I'm like, here, you can use our bidder badge. Bid at Our sale at the wholesale sale, they get outrun like I. Yeah. Anyway, we'll be right back. My name is John Clay wolf. Question for chip. Are the flames still cool or not? Bill in Miami. Hey, we've got only got chip for a few more minutes. If y' all want to ask some Chip some questions, call in. 800-800-7 2, 3, 4.

Caller/Listener
Hey, guys, Good morning. Hey, good morning. Super big fan of your show.
Chip Foose
Thank you.
Caller/Listener
But I need. I need an expert here, man. I'm having. I have a 1965 Ford Galaxy 500XL. It's been restored. It's got a decent paint job on it for Miami. It's not a foos paint job, but it looks pretty good. But I'm in a debate with my friends of mine, guys. I want to put, like, ghost flames on the front of it. And they're all arguing. Don't do it. Try to get an expert opinion on this. What do you think?
John Clay Wolf
Ghost flames? I mean, how ghost scares me. I mean, if they're really light, if we had ghost flames on that Lincoln next to us. You wouldn't see him. And I know, I know it's been bad taste, but you don't see him unless you really try to see them.
Chip Foose
Right?
John Clay Wolf
Depending on the pearl.
Chip Foose
What's the. What's the theme of your build?
Caller/Listener
It's just. It's pretty much just a stock. I mean, it looks stock. It's got some wheels on it.
John Clay Wolf
Is it Gay Pride, Key West?
Chip Foose
What are the wheels on it?
Caller/Listener
We're not doing that.
Chip Foose
Big and littles hot rod. It's got a little stance.
Caller/Listener
I got the. What are the American racing thrust.
Chip Foose
Okay. Big and little. Zoe. Bigger tires in the back, smaller in the front or all same size?
Caller/Listener
No, no, no. They're all. They're all the same. I think they're 15. Okay. It's nothing. Nothing cool. But I guarantee it. I got the only Galaxy in Miami. There's nobody else got one here. So. I do a lot of car shows. I do.
John Clay Wolf
Because they're all in Cuba.
Caller/Listener
Exactly.
Chip Foose
What color is the car over there?
Caller/Listener
It's bright red. It's like a super bright, like almost Ferrari red.
Chip Foose
Yeah. Ghost be cool on it. But you're just real subtle.
Caller/Listener
Yeah, No, I want them so. I want them so faint that you can barely see him. I just want maybe at a certain angle you can catch them. But I also had a question.
Chip Foose
Well, you can also do that with just a little bit of pearl. Just you mask them off, spray a little bit of pearl over it, and then re. Clear the all, you know, whatever parts you're painting. And then it's just light hits it. You would see the little flicker of a flame.
John Clay Wolf
Thank you, Leo. Thank you, Bill. Leo and Tulsa, you got a question for Chip?
Caller/Listener
Yeah, I'm here in Tulsa, and Chip, I'd seen a couple of your cars, and I just wanted to get kind of your personal take on the. Just what you remember about the builds and your thoughts on them. It was the hemisphere and the imposter.
Chip Foose
Okay. Yeah, those were out in the museum. The Manx were taking care of those for Don and Elma Vaughan. Well, the hemisphere, of course. I did that as my senior project from Art Center. I designed the Prowler with Chrysler. And the hemisphere is what I originally designed. The Prowler is what Chrysler you know, built to represent my initial design.
Caller/Listener
I like yours better.
Chip Foose
Well, thank you very much. So do I. But, you know, Don bought car number one. I own the prototype, which is the lime green hemisphere. Don's black one was production car number one. And we Ended up building five of those all together. But that was a great build. But the imposter, which was a 65 Impala that we shortened overall 16 inches, just wanted to make it look more like a muscle car, and that was a phenomenal build. Now, originally, when we built it, it was just gonna be a driver. And then halfway through, Don asked if. If we could go compete for it for the Riddler in Detroit.
John Clay Wolf
Oh, wow.
Chip Foose
And I thought, wow. You know, we bought a 2008 Corvette, peeled the body off of it, and then put that Impala on top of it. And I said, it's not a Riddler contender. The bottom is just a stock Corvette, brand new.
John Clay Wolf
Hey, when we get back, I want Chip to explain why that is and what that means. We're here live with Chip Foose in Huntington Beach, California. My name is John Claywolf. I got a network break I've got to hit right now. We'll be right back after this song. Thank you. An epidemic is sweeping across our once great nation and its name,
Show Announcer
the John Clay Wolf show.
John Clay Wolf
Welcome to DeAndre's Used Cars.
Bobbo
And we doing bogos.
Chip Foose
What's the second car?
John Clay Wolf
Oh, you want to buy a second car? No, it's buy one, get one. Yeah, you bought one, so you getting one. What's so hard about that? I'm speaking American. I don't think this too hard trying
Caller/Listener
to get free cars, man.
John Clay Wolf
You know, the price of eggs. Call me now.
Show Announcer
Oh, yeah.
Jeff
We're back.
Show Announcer
Back to the John Clay Wolf show, presented by givemetheven.com 800, 800 radio. Check out all the mayhem online, all@jcwshow.com Morning, everybody.
John Clay Wolf
My name is John Clay Wolf. This is the John Clay Wolf Show. His name is Chip Foose. We're sitting in Huntington Beach, California.
Chip Foose
This is not the Chip Foose Show.
John Clay Wolf
No, but it's kind of turned into it. It's pretty funny. You're okay. You've got.
Caller/Listener
You.
John Clay Wolf
You've got more sticks than I remember, actually, personally. You do, but it. But. But I'm having. You know, and I did this with Leno a couple of weeks ago, and he's a funny bastard, but obviously he should be. I mean, he does 290.
Chip Foose
He's a professional.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah, he is a professional. Both of y' all are really good co hosts. Actually. I was like, this is fun to have somebody that knows more details than I, and I get stumped all the time. Chris, you've got a 19 raptor with a hundred. You there. And what color?
Caller/Listener
Black.
John Clay Wolf
What's wrong? With it?
Caller/Listener
Nothing. I just. My. I just need to get a different truck for my son. He's in the navy in Greece right now, and he's probably going to California next, so I need to get him something better to drive across country.
John Clay Wolf
Does he think he's in the Greece? Does he give you any insight on the. On the Iranian. Iranian situation?
Caller/Listener
No, not. Not yet. Haven't heard anything yet. He just got there about a month ago.
John Clay Wolf
I mean, is he there to cock to ready to go over there if they. If we get into more trouble? Is that why he's there?
Caller/Listener
I would say so.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah. I would think so too. Hundred thousand mile Raptor. It's a 2019. Off the top of my head, I'm thinking 30 grand. I don't have any. I don't have any comps handy, but that feels right to me. Normally, my guts. Does that work for you or do you know,
Caller/Listener
it's close. I mean, I was. We're very close. I could send some pictures if you like.
John Clay Wolf
I'm taking your word for it. I've seen a bunch of them. You know, they all taste like chicken.
Chip Foose
Stock wheels or is it lifted? And is it lifted aftermarket wheels or is all stock?
Caller/Listener
All stock.
Chip Foose
Okay, so the original tires all wore out.
Caller/Listener
Grapplers? No, no, it's got brand new Nitto ridge grapplers.
John Clay Wolf
I. I found some comps in auction. Comps. You got 27 one, you got 31, eight, you got 32. So I'm. I'm right there on the money at 30, and I ship it and. And pay you.
Caller/Listener
Okay, I'll let you.
John Clay Wolf
Do you want to. Do you want to check or do you want to wire?
Caller/Listener
Well, we'll see. I'll get a hold of your office. Well, I'm in Franklin, Tennessee.
John Clay Wolf
Okay, just load it up@givemetheven.com and then we can. You can just drop it off at the office in Nashville and pick up a check. And thanks for calling. 8008-0072-3480-0800 radio. Why we've got Chip Foose here before he leaves. If you'd like to ask him any questions, call in. 8008-0072-3480-0800 radio. So the guy was. Y' all were talking about a Corvette. The bottom side was stock. And you were saying, obviously that's not a riddler car. What was it? What were you talking about? Well, it was Leo in Tulsa. There he is. Leo, are you there?
Caller/Listener
Yeah, I am.
John Clay Wolf
Okay.
Chip Foose
Yeah. So. So Don says, let's take this and Compete for the Riddler Award. And that's. That's at the Detroit Autorama. And I thought, you know, we just bought a brand new Corvette and put it underneath this. When you're going to compete for the Riddler, everything has to be a piece of art.
Caller/Listener
Right.
Chip Foose
This is a production car.
Caller/Listener
Right.
Chip Foose
It's not a pretty piece.
John Clay Wolf
It's pretty, but it's not.
Chip Foose
We spent three years just making the undercarriage beautiful.
John Clay Wolf
So guys that don't know, and I've learned over the years, actually Muffy and Gary are the ones that taught me. Bennett, this Riddler thing. This Riddler thing is the one award a year you can't show the car before the event is at the Detroit Autorama. It.
Caller/Listener
What.
John Clay Wolf
What would you say the concept is? It's the. It's the most prestigious custom build car show in the award in the world.
Chip Foose
Yeah, it was always the number one prestigious show. You know, if you were building the hot rod, that's where you wanted to take it and. And debut your car there.
John Clay Wolf
Right. So it was Sema before Sema, basically.
Chip Foose
And it used to be you could take a roadster there, win the Riddler and then bring it to California, compete in the grand national Roadster show and win most beautiful, you know, America's most beautiful roadster. But then John Buck, who owns Grand National Roadster show said, no, it's going to be a first time shown only now. So you can't go win the Riddler and then bring a roadster and win America's most beautiful roadster award because both of them are. It's a first time shown to get the award.
John Clay Wolf
Just so you guys understand. Give me a call.
Chip Foose
A guy that builds a roadster.
John Clay Wolf
Well, the cost is going to spend to build. To build award winning Riddler car this year. What do you think the bill would be?
Chip Foose
The winning car? Yeah, it's gonna be north two. Well, sometimes they are.
John Clay Wolf
Right?
Hayden
You broke up in this year.
John Clay Wolf
Y' all are gonna have four or five in it. Two million. Two million. Yeah. Yeah. This is a dog and pony show with a high stakes.
Chip Foose
I don't know where we're gonna be in this. Duesenberg. It's. It's going to be an expensive car to build, but I believe that this one will be worth more than.
John Clay Wolf
Go ahead. Dream car building.
Chip Foose
Yeah. My goal is to try and make this the most beautiful Duesenberg that I've ever seen. Right.
John Clay Wolf
So the Riddler, you've won it how many times with Boyd and you?
Chip Foose
I've been involved with six cars that have won. The Riddler never won with Boyd. Cars, but they were built by other people. I've been involved with six cars that have won the Riddler built four of them here at this shop right here
John Clay Wolf
where we're sitting right now.
Commercial Announcer
Yes.
John Clay Wolf
I wonder if some of that will rub off on me while I'm here today. I hope.
Chip Foose
I'll go grab a Riddler Ward.
John Clay Wolf
We'll rub you down. Rub it down with it. 800, 800. 7, 2, 3, 4. 800, 800. Radio. Speech impediment. Terence, what's on your mind?
Caller/Listener
Okay. 567 million.
John Clay Wolf
Speech impediment. Terrence, are you there?
Caller/Listener
Can you hear me? First aid.
John Clay Wolf
Breaking news.
Caller/Listener
The first A1 design.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah.
Caller/Listener
Viruses. A1. Has no artificial dodge. You know, polish and the double word karate. Okay. And Tom Holland from Spiderman and Gina Z N A Y A S at their wedding celebration.
John Clay Wolf
Hey, J.D. can you translate? I think he's talking about Spider Man.
J.D. Ryan
That's something about Spider man, but something about a wedding ceremony.
Caller/Listener
A wedding celebration.
J.D. Ryan
Wedding celebration.
John Clay Wolf
Speech impediment. Terrence, I'm going to bring you back to the sector. You know we love you and we'll go over your news stories. Thank you for calling in. Yep, yep. He's been calling in for, I don't know, six years.
Chip Foose
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
He sits there on holes. He has news stories ready to go. He enjoys. I mean, you know, on first glance, it's like we're picking on him. We're not picking on him. He loves doing this. He told us his whole story. And who named him? Me.
Chip Foose
Okay.
John Clay Wolf
But, you know, you got Blind Dorian.
Chip Foose
Did you come up with that?
John Clay Wolf
You got Blind Dorian on Stern. You got blind Dorian on 7. You got speech impediment. Terrence always holding on. 2. Like the whole show. They're there. Is it time to go, Mike?
Hayden
Yes.
John Clay Wolf
Mike.
Hayden
Yes.
John Clay Wolf
In the background, you're. You're delaying whenever you hear Ted Nugent.
Chip Foose

J.D. Ryan
You guys have been having fun. Chip is a hoot, man.
John Clay Wolf
It's hilarious.
Chip Foose
Well, thank you.
John Clay Wolf
He and I are going to go buy some cars on Sunday.
Caller/Listener
Where?
John Clay Wolf
Laguna Niguel. There's a fellow with a collection and we're going to go do a video. Then I think I'm gonna go. I've got a lot of plans next week. There's a lot going on. But when I'm in California, man, the time flies. I mean, it's like you when you go on, I'm sure when you go, Chip, on road trips, you're just so stacked.
Chip Foose
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
That it just happens so fast, you don't even know what happened. You know, it's, it's a vacation, but it's not a vacation. It's a work.
Chip Foose
No, it's not a vacation.
John Clay Wolf
But you come home just like you have the vacation in your mind when you get home and they're laying in bed. Of all the things you just did because you're doing it so fast you're not even able to soak it in.
Chip Foose
Right.
John Clay Wolf
It's weird. 8008-0072-3480-0800 radio.
Chip Foose
Let's buy some cars.
John Clay Wolf
Let's buy some cars. Hey, Randy, I don't buy the bikes but we have a specialist@givemetheven.com that does so go to give me the VIN and load load in this Harley Tri Glide and they will get it to our Harleyman and he will contact you.
Caller/Listener
Well, I had already had it bid by Keith online, but then I didn't have the title. So four weeks. Okay. All right, thank you.
John Clay Wolf
All right, thank you. Yeah, Keith's our guy. You can't know it all. And I don't know bikes. And every time I get. Oh, here's Josh in Florida. Speaking of Harley's. Josh, you got a. You got a question for Chip Foose?
Caller/Listener
Yeah, I was wondering if you did a Harley V Rod. Interested in doing that?
John Clay Wolf
You're breaking up or you're talking?
Chip Foose
He asked if I would ever be interested in doing a Harley V ride.
John Clay Wolf
Oh, V Rod, have you ever done one?
Chip Foose
I actually worked on one with John Butera when he was still alive for Harley Davidson.
Caller/Listener
Oh, nice.
Chip Foose
We put a much wider rear tire on it. Yeah, I got a car tire on mine right now. Very cool.
John Clay Wolf
Thanks, Josh. Yeah, Lauderdale. Let's see if there's anything else cool on. On a hold right now. Question for Foos. Okay, Ted and Huntsville, go ahead and go. You're on the air,
Caller/Listener
So. Yeah. Hey, Chip, So I rattle can my hood with 2k clear. What do you think about that stuff? Can you ever make it look good?
Chip Foose
Well, I haven't done that myself, but I would just try sanding it and polishing it because you know, once it's on there, you're just trying to get it smooth.

John Clay Wolf
Steve in Oklahoma. Good morning. Steve Mank.
Chip Foose
Steve Mank.
Caller/Listener
Hello there.
Chip Foose
I was just talking about you.
Caller/Listener
I heard you. I heard you were on the radio this morning. I had to call you.
Chip Foose
No, I'm sitting on a stool. I'm not on the radio.
John Clay Wolf
I'd crush it,
Caller/Listener
but yeah.
Chip Foose
What are you doing up this early?
Caller/Listener
See him getting ready to go deliver a car.
Chip Foose
Imagine that Steve is the one that has the Riddler car that we were talking about, the imposter.
John Clay Wolf
Oh, okay.
Chip Foose
Yep, he's got that in Oklahoma. And he's also got the car number one of the hemispheres, the black one, Don Vosskar.
John Clay Wolf
Where's he keeping.
Chip Foose
Where are you keeping them?
Caller/Listener
They are both in a museum here that some friends of ours own right on Route 66 and is part of the big hundred celebration this year, as a matter of fact.
Chip Foose
What's the name of the museum?
Caller/Listener
It is the heart of Route 66 Automotive Museum. And it's in Sepulpa, which is just a suburb on the southwest corner of Tulsa.
Chip Foose
I'll be there. April 14, 1962.
John Clay Wolf
So are you a Tulsa guy or an Oklahoma City guy? There's a difference.
Caller/Listener
Right outside of Tulsa, that's what. My shop and my house are just east of Tulsa and Claremore.
John Clay Wolf
What's the station we're on in Tulsa? Caper. No. Oh, I forgot. What's the rock station?
Chip Foose
Ask him what his favorite car is.
John Clay Wolf
K mod. What's your favorite car, Steve?
Chip Foose
Tell us what you've got on your property.
Caller/Listener
Well, I've got a whole bunch of. Because way before everybody decided they were going to become popular, I've been pretty much of a nerd for these little Nash Metropolitans. And I've had. I've hot rotted a bunch of them and I restored a few. My favorite car of all time, and a lot of people don't believe it because, like Chip, I do so much American iron. My favorite car of all time, if I had a choice to own one of money was not an object is a gull wing Mercedes, mid-50s.
John Clay Wolf
Yep.
Caller/Listener
And I.
Chip Foose
And they're. It's so similar to the Metropolitan.
John Clay Wolf
The goalie.
Caller/Listener
Yeah. Engineering alone.
John Clay Wolf
Did you hear that show with. I was doing with Jay Leno? A couple of weeks ago when that guy called in. Tyler Hoovy.
Caller/Listener
No, I.
John Clay Wolf
He's got a gold wing he's trying to sell. Offered him a million six for it.
Chip Foose
Well, good morning, Steve. How's Tina?
Caller/Listener
Good morning, guys. He's. She's sitting right here watching and listening. Good morning, guys.
Chip Foose
Good morning. Hi, Miss you guys.
Caller/Listener
Hi. Yeah, you have to tell John she's a serious, serious car girl. She's got four cars of her own.
Chip Foose
If you know who Ermey Ermison was, he had several cars that won America's most beautiful roadster. Yeah, and Taine is the one that campaigned those cars for him.
John Clay Wolf
Huh?
Chip Foose
She would haul them around, set them up and polish them.
John Clay Wolf
Thanks for calling in, Steve. Thanks, guys. All right, see ya. Kyle in Cleveland, Ohio. Good morning. You're on the air.
Caller/Listener
Good morning. How are you?
John Clay Wolf
Good.
Caller/Listener
I got a 1978 Z28 with 8,800 miles on it. My dad ordered it brand new. Still got the original tires. Everything's original except the motor was built by Tommy Tviv Ivo. He ordered the cam from Ishkadari into his specs and back in 1980. The entire build cost $712. Trying to get a value of what the car is worth. It's black and white, T tops, four speed, a track which still works.
John Clay Wolf
Four speed.
Chip Foose
What cassette is in it?
John Clay Wolf
A track?
Chip Foose
Yeah.
Caller/Listener
Right now is the best of the 50s and 60s. Well, I got Led Zeppelin, I got Star Wars, I got a bunch of them.
Chip Foose
Put one of the good ones in. It'll bring the car value up.
John Clay Wolf
So a 70. Right. A 78. Z 28 with T tops and a four speed. It's all original except you change the motor. So where the. The motor I don't think adds value. Even the story that goes with it. Do you have the original?
Caller/Listener
It is the original motor.
Chip Foose
Oh, he took it out and built.
John Clay Wolf
Okay, so it just has more horses.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
78 with 8,000 miles. White. What color is interior?
Caller/Listener
White. The car is black and gold and the interior is white. Last year for white.
John Clay Wolf
So it's a bandit car with white guts.
Caller/Listener
Yes.
John Clay Wolf
Okay, but it's Camaro, right?
Caller/Listener
It's Camaro original tire, steel guard.
John Clay Wolf
78. They changed the body style in 79 on the Camaro Z28.
Chip Foose
No.
John Clay Wolf
So it's the same one. 78, 79, 80s the same one. It's Jefferson's car from Fast Times. Remember that?
Chip Foose
No, I don't remember that one.
John Clay Wolf
You didn't watch Fast Times at Richmond High?
Chip Foose
No.
John Clay Wolf
Really? Where the hell have you been? Yeah, it is. Does it have the california?
Chip Foose
Where's Ridgemont?
John Clay Wolf
California? 30 grand is off the top of my head. I have an 80s version of that. I've got a 1980 version of that car. That's gorgeous. And those cars haven't gone nuts. I like the 8,000 miles.
Chip Foose
Yep.
John Clay Wolf
I like the four speed. I gave 17 grand for mine at Barrett two years ago, and I think I bought it. Well, obviously.
Chip Foose
Does it run good?
Caller/Listener
Oh, it runs perfect.
Chip Foose
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Does 30 buy it?
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
Chip Foose
How old are the tires?
Caller/Listener
The tires are original.
John Clay Wolf
Oh, be careful.
Caller/Listener
They're not. Not a problem with them. They're not. An old timer taught us back in the day to take a bottle of baby oil, Poke two holes in it with a pin, and set it on top of each tire and just let it drip on them. And there is soft and as pliable as the day they left the factory.
John Clay Wolf
Sounds like my buddy that his dad smoked a lot of dope. And my buddy did, too, and he taught him how to smoke a bong. And he had some carburetor system on it.
Chip Foose
But really, they were both stone visualizing this car.
John Clay Wolf
With these four oily, oily tires. Hey, Kyle, does 30 grand buy it?
Caller/Listener
No.
John Clay Wolf
What buys it?
Caller/Listener
Well, barrett was here about three years ago, and they offered 85.
John Clay Wolf
They don't offer on car.
Caller/Listener
So they said that's what they would go for.
John Clay Wolf
That's what they gave you an estimate to get you to sign a contract. That is a. It's an absolute sale. So here's what bear does. We can get you 80 grand, right? Sign here. So you sign here, and then you watch it sell for 28 or 32. And then you look at your rep, and you're like, I thought you said it'd bring 80. You said, bad luck, buddy. And you're like, no, no, like, tough, tough. And then you, like, want to fight them. Whenever you see a scuffle at barrett, that's what's going on. The consigner doesn't want to sell the car for what they just dropped the hammer on.
Chip Foose
And that all changed when they got rid of the reserve.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah.
Chip Foose
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Yep.
Chip Foose
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf

On top of that, if we don't beat their deal, we will send you a check for a hundred dollars just for the opportunity for getting last look. We'll be right back.
Satan
Back.
Bobbo
It just ain't Saturday without the JCW show.
John Clay Wolf
I'm also going to need you to
Caller/Listener
go ahead and come in on Sunday too, okay?
Show Announcer
From the Wolf radio studios.
John Clay Wolf
That would be great.
Show Announcer
Okay. It's time for the John Clay Wolf show.
Caller/Listener
Okay, thanks
John Clay Wolf
everybody.
Show Announcer
1, 800-800-radio or log on@jcwshow.com now. John Clay Wolf.
John Clay Wolf
We are here live in Huntington Beach, California at Foose Design. Sitting here in the shop, you can see Chip Foose and I sitting here in his shop just all by ourselves. Us in the cars and you right here on the radio. Little surprise attack. I asked you yesterday, I'm like, can I do my show from your shop? You're like, what do you need? It's like not much. I got all the gear. All right, let's do it.
Chip Foose
This is here we are probably the easiest of when somebody asks, can we use the shop for something?
John Clay Wolf
What do you need a table?
Chip Foose
I got enough room right here between all these cars.
John Clay Wolf
We were literally jammed between the Continental and the Boydster and the Duesenberg, a
Chip Foose
Ferrari, a 40 Ford Woody and the Myers Manx.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah, I mean we're just sitting here right in the middle of the shop just doing the thing like guys do on Saturday. But we're doing it with you across the US and we're glad to be doing it.
Caller/Listener
No one.
John Clay Wolf
John. Oh, John in Fort Lauderdale.
Chip Foose
John's driving or he's in the ocean.
John Clay Wolf
John, are you there?
Caller/Listener
Yes, I am. How you doing?
John Clay Wolf
Good. You got a 70? It's loud. You have Bluetooth? Yeah. Get off Bluetooth if you can and just put your phone up to your ear. It'll sound a lot better. And I'll talk about your car while you're doing that. A 70 hemi four speed superbird 28 miles. They just restored it after nut and bolt. Vitamin C, orange. Otherwise known as a good car.
Chip Foose
Let's cut the roof off, make It a convertible.
John Clay Wolf
Did you do the. Did you pay somebody to do the rest or did you do it yourself?
Caller/Listener
Well, when I got the car, it was in real bad shape and we myself and friends started to try to do it. And we get about 18 hours a month into it. A car like that needs to be about 3,000 hours. So we. I gave up and took it to a shop up in Jupiter.
John Clay Wolf
How much was the bill on the finish shop?
Caller/Listener
I. My wife takes care of the bills and I didn't even want to know.
John Clay Wolf
Well, I was just fixed to say that. You don't want to say it out loud because your wife might be listening or your wife handled it and she. She's hiding it from you. That's interesting that, that normally it's the other way around.
Chip Foose
The other way? Yeah.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
Chip Foose
The guy's telling us like we did it for 50 bucks.
Caller/Listener
Worst nightmare. Tell me about the car for 50.
John Clay Wolf
The numbers. The numbers. Are they matching?
Chip Foose
Are they?
John Clay Wolf
Or did you find some different motors or trannies? That is a numbers matching car.
Caller/Listener
Oh no. Oh no. All numbers matching.
John Clay Wolf
And is there any way that anybody forged anything? Not you, but somebody else.
Caller/Listener
No, actually when I bought the car, it came. I bought it from the original owner.
John Clay Wolf
Okay.
Caller/Listener
And he had the car for a few years. Used to race up in a Boca airport and after a while the car started looking a little bad. So his. His buddy took it and painted it and put instead of Plymouth on it. Said Sherry's Toy. A bunch of other stuff just ruined it.
Chip Foose
And you left that on there?
Caller/Listener
He ruined it. And then, then he parked it in the carport and it sat there for. Until I came along. And he had. He had people coming up with briefcases of money and sharp. Here's two brand new Cadillacs. Give me the title for the car. He would not take anything. And I happen to know the guy just through. Well, he actually was. Worked at a restaurant that we went to and I only saw him once. Twice.
John Clay Wolf
Do you want to sell it?
Caller/Listener
And when.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah, okay. Yeah, I'm sorry, but I'm looking to
Caller/Listener
see what, what the price.
John Clay Wolf
Will you take 300000 for it?
Caller/Listener
How much?
John Clay Wolf
300,000.
Caller/Listener
No.
John Clay Wolf
What would you take for it?
Caller/Listener
No, I was offered. I was offered seven last year for it.
John Clay Wolf
I turned it down. Okay. 700 for a Hemi Super Bird. Didn't haven't. I mean I. I obviously was the 300 grand. I call that a reaction figure. You throw out a figure and they give you a reaction and so we can talk straight.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
Chip Foose
Why didn't you take the 7?
John Clay Wolf
The 7 sounds like a lot. Doesn't
Caller/Listener
does. But a couple years ago, 11 for 1.6, and then with 1.29, they're all over the place.
John Clay Wolf
What would you take for it?
Caller/Listener
I would take nine.
John Clay Wolf
Well, if you sold it for a million at Barrett, you wouldn't even get nine from them.
Caller/Listener
Well, I wouldn't. I wouldn't even take it to Barrett. Barrett won't put a reserve on it, and I'm not going to take that chance. Right.
Chip Foose
They'll promise It'll get the 1.3, right? Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
They'll tell you an estimate of 1.3 so you can sign up. So. Okay, I'm looking at some comps while we're talking. 528, 418, 605, and a million six. But that was in 22, when Covid was nuts. Your seven sounds right. Your 700,000 sounds about all right. Would you take seven if I offered it?
Caller/Listener
No, I don't have this. I like to, you know, just. I'd like to get a million for it someday, but. Right. I'm getting old and, you know, it's time to. Time to move on. I have.
John Clay Wolf
Hey, I've got a. I've got it. Are you familiar with the 63Z06 no.3 big tanker Corvette?
Caller/Listener
Yeah, yeah, I've got 163.
John Clay Wolf
I've got a big tanker an no.3 that's in the same kind of condition as yours. I think I'd swap you.
Hayden
Oh, boy.
Caller/Listener
Swap?
Hayden
Oh, no.
John Clay Wolf
And there's plenty of comps on my car at a million too. You know that. But there's plenty of comps on my car at 600, too. Not plenty, but they've gone up in the past year. If you'd be interested In a trade, Mr. Haney, for green Acres, because I've had my big tanker a little while. I'm kind of tired of looking at it. I don't hate it. I just, you know, it's just always fun to, you know, you can't switch wise, but you can switch cars.
Caller/Listener
Right. Right.
Chip Foose
Easier.
Caller/Listener
Okay. The biggest thing is it's cool to look at, but, you know. And I got bragging rights. But. Yeah, you can't drive it around, you know, you just. It's.
John Clay Wolf
I've Never driven my no. 3. Never been behind the wheel of it because what if I screw something up? I just.
Caller/Listener
I just taken the. The superbird's been out. I took my wife out for ride, took my daughter, and then I took it to the Palm event up in at Mar a Lago.
John Clay Wolf
Right.
Caller/Listener
And so. So I have driven it and it does feel well.
John Clay Wolf
I'll come to Florida, you and I will get wasted and we'll do burnouts and then go to the Drive in and get some greasy food. That's driving it.
Caller/Listener
I'll do burnouts with my 63, but not.
John Clay Wolf
Not the right. Thanks for calling in, man. But if you're serious about it. I am serious about a trade. If you're interested in a big tanker vet, just go to jcwbuys.com that one goes straight to me and I'm loaded up and we'll talk about it. Thank you, sir. John in Fremont, Nevada, Nebraska. I don't know what a Z11 is. I forgot. A 63 Chevy Z11. What is that?
Chip Foose
That's the.
Caller/Listener
It's a 409. Stroked out to 427.
John Clay Wolf
I think I had one of those.
Chip Foose
Aluminum.
John Clay Wolf
There's just a few of them, right?
Chip Foose
Yeah. All.
John Clay Wolf
It's the race car. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Aluminum bumpers. Yeah, yeah.
Caller/Listener
All of it.
Chip Foose
Yeah. Windows or. Or glass Windows.
Caller/Listener
That's glass.
Chip Foose
Okay. Are you asking for it?
Caller/Listener
I. I just want to know what it's worth or whatever. It belonged to my dad or whatever. He had ties with the Chevrolet dealership or whatever and he wound up with it. I was born in 62 and he got it brand new in 63.
John Clay Wolf
Antique roadshow right here on the FM rock radio station this morning. You know, my grandmother, she went to church a lot, but then she changed the nominations and the family ousted her and she left us this car to the church. But the preacher didn't want it and he gave it to my sister in law. And then she married my cousin, which was a weird thing. It sounds worse than it sounds. It's not as bad as it sounds. But then he sold it back to me.
Caller/Listener
Well, you know, religion and denominations man made. Anyway, so.
Chip Foose
Hey, so is the car.
John Clay Wolf
That's a good point.
Caller/Listener
Exactly. Wow. But you know what? Cool to see the time slips on this thing because he run tens with it back in the day. And I don't think a new Corvette will even run tens right out of the box, will it?
Hayden
What?
John Clay Wolf
On a scale of 1 to 10, what are we talking about as far as condition the car?
Caller/Listener
The car is immaculate.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. I've never seen no rain.
Caller/Listener
No. None of that stuff. It's not even been driven on the street because it doesn't have a. You know, it's not legal to drive on the street. But it's.
John Clay Wolf
Does 60 grand buy it?
Caller/Listener
I'd have to talk it over with my brother.
John Clay Wolf
Okay, well, go talk to your brother and call me back. Or you just go to givemethevin.com that
Chip Foose
time slip says time to sell.
John Clay Wolf
We'll be right back.
Hayden
Thank you.
John Clay Wolf
My name is John Claywell.
Caller/Listener
A handful of them made.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah, I know. That's why I'm offered 60 grand and not 15. I've had. I've had that same car. Yeah, Remember that buy I told you in Tulsa in that museum? Yes, he had that exact same car. I sold it and then I couldn't get the title to it. It's all screwed up and we had to unwind it.
Chip Foose
I know you married your cousin or
John Clay Wolf
whatever and married the cousin or whatever in. In Arkansas. In a small town in Arkansas. We'll be right back.

John Clay Wolf
Is your A68 Mercedes? Is that a Pagoda? Oh, it's a coupe. It's not a convertible?
Caller/Listener
No, it's not a convertible, it's a coupe.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. What year was the Pagodas 59s.
Caller/Listener
Yeah, you got me. I'm okay.
John Clay Wolf
Do, do me a favor. Load these in the 87 esprit. Is that the V8 or the 4 or the small engine?
Caller/Listener
It's too. Yeah. So it's a four cylinder, it's a small.
John Clay Wolf
No miles on it. It's probably with 9000 miles it's probably 35. It's 40 grand. They're terrible about blowing head gaskets, Just terrible about it. Bobbo
You.
John Clay Wolf
Thank you. Okay. What yet, Turly? The who? What? I don't remember what we're talking about. Did I. Did I ask for it? Oh no, I don't remember the bit. Oh, oh, the guy that was driving a Saturn. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Chip Foose
His car for sale.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah, but it's a junker. Yeah, there's a bit and we were going to say like where is the. Where do you think he'd find Shane? Cuz he's. It looks real messy and the car looks messy but Turley saying the news reported they found him dead. So we're not going to do the bit. Yeah. So let's just keep on dancing.
Caller/Listener
Where is Shane?
John Clay Wolf
We're not doing that one. I've got a funny one. Hey Mike, we'll do the dive bar.
Hayden
Okay. Reset your. You're lagging again. Go ahead and reset.
John Clay Wolf
Okay, I'm gonna turn you off. How's that now?
Hayden
There you go. Check. 1, 2.
Caller/Listener
1, 2.
John Clay Wolf
1, two, one, two.
Hayden
Perfect. All right, so dive bars.
John Clay Wolf
I'm gonna turn this into you a. Keep on dancing.
Chip Foose
I like that.
Bobbo
Anything has the potential to become a
John Clay Wolf
DUI checkpoint if you crash your car into it. Don't drink and drive.
Caller/Listener
That's what they say.
John Clay Wolf
They also say friends don't let friends drive drunk.
Caller/Listener
Well, which one is it?
J.D. Ryan
Somebody's gotta drive.
Show Announcer
We now return to the John Clay Wolf show. Hit them up on the cell phones. 800, 800 radio. And check out the podcast. The John Clay Wolf show.
John Clay Wolf
Speaking of dive bars, the other day we had the. My wife's like, you want to eat dinner early? And normally I have a beer after the auction at Rollins Place. And he. And it didn't happen this week. And I went by the Showdown Saloon, which I do about once every eight. I do that about once every two years.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
And it's one of those dark bars like in the middle of the day. So this was about 6:30 in the evening. Had two beers, walk outside. I'm looking at the cars in the parking lot and there's not a straight piece of metal on one of them.
Chip Foose
The bumpers, were they straight before they got there?
John Clay Wolf
I don't know. But I was looking because it's one of those alcoholic bars, you know, the real ones, the ones that are always open and, and it's just, they don't close. I just made the observation that the cars in the parking lots of the dive bars have a lot of physical damage. And it's probably because the owners hang out at the bars a lot and drink and drive and it's, they're just not very good at it. Turley, do you have any?
Hayden
Yeah, so there's a place over by
John Clay Wolf
where I'm at Lynn's Saloon and you're not on Mike.
Hayden
Hello, can you hear me now?
John Clay Wolf
I hear you.
Hayden
Yeah, Lynn Saloon where there's a C8 that's always parked out front. It's totally different from Corvette. Totally different from all the other rag down cars, stuff like that. What does that mean to have that at that type of dive bar?
Chip Foose
Well, my buddy, that's a sure thing for him.
Hayden
He's just ready to get anything. It walks in, he's going to be walking out with it.
John Clay Wolf
Well my buddy that had one of those, you know, he passed away washable and he had a breathalyzer on his.
J.D. Ryan
God.
John Clay Wolf
And he kept wanting me to buy it. And every time I look at it, about every two months it was just getting worse and worse and worse. Then it got hail damage. I mean just, just got worse and worse.
Chip Foose
How do you get hail damage on a Corvette?
John Clay Wolf
Who knows? You know he and he and his
Chip Foose
wife, it's a composite body. It doesn't get dense.
John Clay Wolf
It's a good point. Is the hood fiberglass or metal?
Chip Foose
Yeah, no, they're all fiberglass and there was just composite.
John Clay Wolf
Then the, the windshield was beat out of it from hail. You're right.
Chip Foose
Yep.
John Clay Wolf
Huh.
Chip Foose
So what is the hail damage on a Corvette?
John Clay Wolf
It was just such a drunkard's Corvette. It Was so. It was just so every corner was round.
Chip Foose
See, most of those parking lots, the cars are up on jack stands because they've taken all the good tires and put them on one car so everybody can get home.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
Bobbo
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
So he. He got a dwi. He and his wife are driving home. He's always drunk and she's yelling and she's drunk. Mexican food.
Caller/Listener
Mexican food. Take a right. Mexican food.
John Clay Wolf
Mexican food. So he takes a hard left, right.
Chip Foose
Yes.
John Clay Wolf
Into the Mexican food joint. Like he'd missed the turn, but he made it anyway. Cop sees him make it, pull him over, and they're giving him the DWI test. And she. She's drunk too, and she's not the smartest thing in the world. I'm trying to be careful about who I'm talking about because friends of mine are listening to the show and they probably know I'm talking about. But she cocks off and says, he's not drunk. The reason he's acting that way is because of his pills.
Bobbo
Thanks, honey.
Caller/Listener
Oh, my God.
John Clay Wolf
He just stuck his hands out. Just arrest me now. Just take me. Yeah, he got a hard one. Jd. It was like. It was like a year of weekly test with a probation officer.
J.D. Ryan
They make you go in. Yeah, go ahead.
John Clay Wolf
When it's that bad, does that mean you've been in trouble before? You didn't tell me about the other one.
J.D. Ryan
Oh, yes. Oh, absolutely. Yeah. When you have the interlock on your car and you've just.
Bobbo
Yeah.
J.D. Ryan
You're gonna go in weekly. Yes.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah. Weekly.
J.D. Ryan
Yeah, that's a. That's bad. That's at least two, maybe three dwrs.
John Clay Wolf
Damn shadies are in house.
J.D. Ryan
Alcoholic, ex. Alcoholic.
Chip Foose
You know, those systems are put into the electrical system of the car. So if you don't blow a. A clean breath, it won't start.
John Clay Wolf
Right.
Chip Foose
So they got to go in and cut wires and put things together. So if you're going to buy that,
John Clay Wolf
you or grab you or me to blow in it. Yeah. Like we had an employee and givemetheven.com Great guy. Except.
Chip Foose
Except did he drink on the job?
John Clay Wolf
Was it his wife's or his turley that had the blower on it?
Hayden
No, that was his car.
John Clay Wolf
No, but was he. Was it she that got the blower lock on it and he would. Because we would have to. Wouldn't somebody. Wasn't there a story where people had to go out and blow on it?
Hayden
You talking about boots? Yeah. No. We had to have somebody go out there one time, blow on it for him because he Said he wasn't drinking in the job. He was. No, no, it's just not working.
Chip Foose
You got to give your car a BJ to get it started.
John Clay Wolf
Yes. Yep, yep. Do you have that cut from earlier today? I think it'd be a good time to do it. Which cut? The lady with the blowout.
Hayden
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
John Clay Wolf
This wave pattern texture again. It looks like you went and got a job at your. A blowout at your salon. And it looks beautiful. Looks beautiful. We're here in sunny California, Huntington Beach. I'm actually sitting next to Chip Foose in his shop. We're like, literally on the ground in the garage between the cars. Just us. There's nobody else here. We've been here all morning, and we're having a hell of a time. You have to boogie to go to a car show.
Chip Foose
I'm just gonna go to a swap meet. The early Ford V8 club. Putting on a swap meet up at the Elks Club in Anaheim.
John Clay Wolf
The Elks Club. Elks Club. So I'm speaking of good old alcoholics. That's a good place to get a stiff drink.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
Chip Foose
You can find the same cars there.
Hayden
Right.
John Clay Wolf
So you're going there to say hi to everybody. Are you going there to pick?
Chip Foose
I'm going over to the pick.
John Clay Wolf
You're going over there to pick?
Chip Foose
I'm going there pick. And I. I should be back here before you're done.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. What, What. What is on your mind? Do you have anything specifically that you need to pick apart?
Chip Foose
No, I. I don't need anything.
John Clay Wolf
Where do you keep all this crap?
Chip Foose
Have you looked around?
John Clay Wolf
Oh, yeah, that's right. Look around here and take you over
Chip Foose
to the other building that we don't work out of. We just. We just load it up.
John Clay Wolf
Are you. What, what are you a hoarder?
Chip Foose
I have been called that before.
John Clay Wolf
Okay.
Chip Foose
But not. It's not filthy hoarding. It's just excess.
John Clay Wolf
There's a difference.
Chip Foose
Well, there's not rats and.
John Clay Wolf
Right.
Chip Foose
You know, let's say used food wrappers.
John Clay Wolf
Has it always been this way? Have you always been a hoarder?
Chip Foose
No, because I couldn't always afford to be a hoarder.
Show Announcer
Really.
John Clay Wolf
You guys that are builders are grabbing parts all the time because you're thinking about projects that you're going to do or come across down. You're going to use it one day or some.
Chip Foose
A friend's going to need it and I want to give it you to.
John Clay Wolf
To them. How often do you clean it out? You're kind of in a clean out Mode right now, aren't you?
Chip Foose
So I'm wanting to get rid of a lot of stuff right now and
John Clay Wolf
I meet these guys selling collections, so
Chip Foose
I'm going to go to the swap meets.
John Clay Wolf
I meet these guys selling collections and the first thing they do after they sell them to me is they go start buying more cars, right? And they'll call me three years later and say it's time to do it again.
Chip Foose
But see, I know all my friends are going to be up there also, so I get to go up there and make fun of them.
John Clay Wolf
Chip Foose, I've enjoyed it. We'll see you when you get back.
Chip Foose
How many cars have we bought? Bought today?
John Clay Wolf
Probably three on like we on the air three. But people go to give me the VIN by the hundreds.
Chip Foose
Yes.
John Clay Wolf
And we've got 90 buyers that are dealing with them, so we probably bought 50.
Chip Foose
That's awesome. Yeah, love it.
John Clay Wolf

Not the one out in California with John is this is in Florida holds an event where customers are allowed to partake in an elegant five star dinner experience without wearing. Are you ready? Any clothes.
Caller/Listener

John Clay Wolf
I like it.
J.D. Ryan
Five star dining. Naked cut number eight, Michael.
Jeff
A five course meal is on the menu. But clothes are not local 10's Jeff
John Clay Wolf
Dadarian is live with an exclusive look inside. Jeff, give us the naked truth. In about 90 minutes from now, customers will go into this steakhouse for a utility unique dining experience. Naked dining. Mourad Ali is the chef and owner. Will you cook in the nude ever or what?
Caller/Listener
Me?
Bobbo
No.
John Clay Wolf
Okay, Jeff, wait. So then why do a restaurant in the nude? He says, look, running a restaurant is tough. He needs to find new ways to get new people in. As soon as they go through that front door, Nicole, they start taking their clothes off right away before the appetizer is even served.
Caller/Listener
Good place to throw your birthday party because you can show up in your first birthday.
J.D. Ryan
Funny, guys.
Hayden
All right, hold on, hold on. There's only one person on this show. Oh, don't that is a nudist. And that's you, J.D. ryan.
J.D. Ryan
Well, that's true.
Hayden
Have you ever gone to a restaurant or anything that eat naked?
J.D. Ryan
Sure, I have.
Show Announcer
You have?
Caller/Listener
What?
John Clay Wolf
What? I didn't do it, but I saw people do it. But. Go ahead, J.D. it was probably you I saw.
J.D. Ryan
No, you didn't. Where. What did you do, John?
John Clay Wolf
Well, there's a men's club in Fort Worth called the Fort Worth Club. A bunch of old people, and they walk around, they swim naked, and they eat naked downstairs in the. Yeah. And there's, like, a cafeteria, and they walk through there naked. And there's old butts and balls, like, long, long.
Bobbo
A cafeteria?
Hayden
Yeah.
Bobbo
And you stand in line naked and tell, yes, I'll have the fish.
John Clay Wolf
I'll have the fish. Oh, no. Athletic club. And I think they're old. Old athletic clubs. Our nudist colonies down in the basement.
Caller/Listener
Awful. Awful.
Chip Foose
Go ahead.
Hayden
What?
John Clay Wolf
What's yours?
J.D. Ryan
Well, mine was at the Ponderosa Ninjas camp out in East Texas, and then it's. It's. Everybody's naked, so it's no big deal. And of course, people go through the. The line, and you got to make sure you have a towel with you. That's protocol, because wherever you sit, you need to put your towel down first.
Hayden
But you're walking through the line naked.
J.D. Ryan
Totally naked.
Hayden
You're sitting at the table naked.
J.D. Ryan
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the line. It's just like. Like any other. Like. Like John was saying, just everybody's naked.
Chip Foose
So it's.
Caller/Listener
No, but it.
John Clay Wolf
Was it all men or men and women?
J.D. Ryan
No, it's men and women.
Bobbo
So this is like a normal thing with. With that group of people. Is it considered bad manners if you happen to get a boner? Is that like a bad.
J.D. Ryan
I never saw that happen, and it's never occurred because it. Believe it or not, I know you guys.
John Clay Wolf
All the girls are ugly, so.
J.D. Ryan
Sorry. No, not really. But you just. It's not sexual. It's not. It sounds that way, but it's not. I swear.
Hayden
So you're not asking to take that plate back because there's a pube in it?
J.D. Ryan
No.
John Clay Wolf
Did you ever hump anybody in the food line?
J.D. Ryan
No.
John Clay Wolf
Dear Lord.
J.D. Ryan
It's like any place else, except you just don't have clothes on. That's all.
Hayden
A lot of tube steaks being served.
J.D. Ryan
You did not. Hey, bring Chuck food. Bring this. Chip Foo's back.
Hayden
That's just.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah, he leaves and we go to hell and just fight.
J.D. Ryan
No, we go to go back to dad jokes anyway, so we have another story for you. 77 year old woman in Florida. She's arrested after authorities found 80. 80 cats in her home. Now where'd she get 80 cats, you wonder? Well, the woman happens to be.
John Clay Wolf
That's a lot of pussy.
J.D. Ryan
Male cod. The woman happens to be a mail carrier and cops think she has been collecting cats along her route. Cats have been disappearing up and down the streets where she picks up mail and drops off mail and they think she's been stealing the cats. Cut number nine.
John Clay Wolf
I saw one of the rescuers, animal control officers bring out a cage with a tiny white cat in it. Two random people called me and said,
Caller/Listener
you live next to Sunshine Mobile Homes, right?
John Clay Wolf
Well, I can't believe they even let her be a male van. And she said, mom, years old, she's
Caller/Listener
too old to be a male.
John Clay Wolf
Man, the mail lady got arrested. I know there's other white cats in the world, but man, it's just absolutely horrifying. And I looked on the news and
Caller/Listener
saw a video of one of the
John Clay Wolf
tuxedo cats inside of the cage that
Caller/Listener
they were taking out of the house.
John Clay Wolf
And I'm very hopeful that it's my cat. Well, why don't her supervisor, Taylor, when
Chip Foose
she comes back to the post office
John Clay Wolf
with a bunch of other people's cats
Chip Foose
in her mail truck, they don't say nothing.
Caller/Listener
Sorry, you suck at your job.
J.D. Ryan
It's supposed to be people in Florida. I think one of those neighbors was not really in Florida.
Hayden
That's a lot of kitties.
J.D. Ryan
That's a lot of cats.
John Clay Wolf
We'll be back in a minute. My name is John Clay Wolf. This is the John Clay Wolf Show. You got Mike Turley running the board. You've got J.D. ryan on my right. If I was there in the studio, right? Bobbo straight across from me.

Show Announcer
And now back to the John Clay Wolf show presented by givemethevin.com.
John Clay Wolf
In Fort Collins. You got a 68 Firebird resto mod with an LSA. Is everything perfect on it or does it need anything else to finish it?
Caller/Listener
The car is almost perfect. I mean, you know, it's a driver, but yeah, it's in great shape, this 50 grand.
John Clay Wolf
But I bought the same car for 50 grand. If you watch one of my videos on YouTube, you'll see the red one that I bought with an LSA for 50 grand. Same car.
Caller/Listener
Well, this, this cars, I mean there's nothing stock about it. It's got all the QA1 components under it. It's got Wilwood brakes. It's got the hydro boost, the firewall shaved. They've got all the. It was built by a custom shop out in California. I mean this, this isn't your regular build car.
John Clay Wolf
This wasn't either. Do you ever watch my YouTube channel?
Caller/Listener
I have not seen the John.
John Clay Wolf
If you go to John Clay Wolf on YouTube or you can see all the videos and go to that one. Oh gosh, I forgot what it was called. But you'll see that he QA1's the whole works. Will Woods. I gave him 50 grand for it and I'd give 50 for yours. I mean, I see you want to buy this. I, I can't. I sold mine for like 57 or 60, so it made a little more money than normal. I'll work, you know, on those kind of cars. I want to, I want to be on a five thousand dollar spread. And I'll tell you why is because there's just a lot of components that break and it's this and that. And there's more risk in those cars than normal cars than like Camrys and Suburbans and Escalades. Those are more commodity. These cars have more variable in them. What would you take for it?
Caller/Listener
Well, like I said, I got a little over 100 in it. I mean I'd. I do 95 on it.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. I can't make that work, but I appreciate it. It's 800. 800. Damn high. The truth is his car is too high. We haven't done, we haven't done the truth in a while. Do you all remember the truth bit where everybody just calls in and starts hammering the Truth. The truth is I hate Trump. The truth is we're going to war with Iran. The truth is. Blah, blah, blah. Call in now in 8008-0072-3480-0800 radio and tell us, tell us your truth and no, no. Hey, guys, love the show. How are you doing? None of the pleasantries. Let's just bang right through it. The truth is, Richard in Grand Junction, I've actually, I've, I've clicked off of you five times this morning because I've said I want my guys to call you. I've already given them your phone number. They're going to call you about your wide body. You there?
Caller/Listener
Okay.
John Clay Wolf
Okay, thanks. Now I hung up again. Yeah, this is the sixth time and the truth is Richard's going to call back again.
Hayden
What's the number to call in for the truth?
John Clay Wolf
8008-0072-3480-0800 radio. Richard. Melbourne, Florida. What have you got?
Caller/Listener
I, I don't have a car. I just was telling my story to Hayden.
John Clay Wolf
Hang on, hang on, hang on. This is too funny. Hey, Richard. Grand Junction, Colorado, good morning.
Caller/Listener
Yes, sir, what you got? Hi, John.
John Clay Wolf
Hi.
Caller/Listener
You can't hear me now?
John Clay Wolf
Oh, I could hear you all alone. Can you hear me?
Caller/Listener
You betcha. I'm on the show.
John Clay Wolf
Right you are, but I want my guys to call you about your wide body hellcat that has five miles on it. It's wrapped up. You were a car dealer.
Caller/Listener
That's your car buddy.
John Clay Wolf
You bought it for me.
Caller/Listener
No, I'm just saying that's the kind that's for you and I will buy it.
John Clay Wolf
And that's why I wanted one of my guys to call you personally to make sure it happens. So I'm gonna hang up now and then when you, when I hang up, don't call, don't. Okay, we'll buy. Hey, if you got more, that's why you said retired car dealer. So you're clearing out. So I'm sending in one of my professionals to call you and go through the whole gamut.
Caller/Listener
I want you to fly into Grand Junction.
John Clay Wolf
Will you pay me?
Caller/Listener
Yeah, you got to see my vet. Okay, you gotta come here.
John Clay Wolf
All right, well, tell my guy when
Caller/Listener
he calls, they're all sisters, they're survivors. I bought them in the 70s.
John Clay Wolf
I will buy them and I. If it's a good group of cars, I'll damn sure come up there. And I'm in California and I'll be flying over Colorado. My way home, I could stop. So take the call when they call you and Y' all work this out and get it lined up. And I appreciate you. Thank you.
Bobbo
Jack Daniels. Perfect for the seventies. Even better today.
Chip Foose
Do you think.
John Clay Wolf
Do you think he's gonna call back?
J.D. Ryan
Absolutely.
Bobbo
A couple more shots. Yeah, he'll be back.
Hayden
We ready for the truth here. You want to hit the open?
John Clay Wolf
Yep. I can't tell you the truth because I love you too much, stupid. Now, somebody's not telling the truth here.
Jeff
Sometimes the truth about how pissed off we are wins.
John Clay Wolf
Put aside your selfish male ego and tell the truth. You can't have the truth. Aaron Fort Worth, what's your truth?
Caller/Listener
The truth is it's a shame that Russ Martin died.
John Clay Wolf
Okay.
J.D. Ryan
Totally agree.
John Clay Wolf
Feisty. In. In Vicksburg, Mississippi, good morning. What's your truth?
Caller/Listener
The tree said I need to start selling Bobbo bobbleheads.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. That's a decent, decent comment. I like that. Stephen in Texas, good morning. What's your truth?
Caller/Listener
Truth is people that sack Kroger groceries for pickup and delivery should die a slow death.
John Clay Wolf
Cut. Nolan in Baton Rouge, what's your truth?
Caller/Listener
The Democrats are overrun by the Communist Party.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. All right, all right. Pittsburgh, what's your truth? I don't know the name. I'm taking it blind.
Caller/Listener
The truth is, if you wouldn't have signed your new contract, Saturdays at work would suck.
John Clay Wolf
Thank you. I appreciate that. Mark and Philly, what's your truth?
Caller/Listener
Well, I was going to tell you about the News colony thing when I was a kid. All right.
John Clay Wolf
Brad in Pittsburgh, what's your truth?
Caller/Listener
I never got the Kobe vaccination, and now I've never been sick.
John Clay Wolf
Hey, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right. Anthony in Florida, what's your truth?
Caller/Listener
It's damn hot down here today.
John Clay Wolf
Duck, quack, quack. In Robbins, Tennessee, what's your truth?
Caller/Listener
I'm a mailman, and I tell you what. Delivering packages to people, the same people every day. Like, dude, how do they even have time to do anything else but order packages? I don't know what to do with them. Like, some people, I think just hoard stuff, you know?
John Clay Wolf
Yes, I do think that his. His short verm is. The truth is, Amazon delivery is feeding the hoarder situation. That's true. Big Iron in Ohio, what's your truth?
Caller/Listener
Truth is, in a year, you ought to sell your classic car and buy a hummer and a 500 gallon tank of diesel for your backyard because you'll be better off after the economy shifts to bed.
John Clay Wolf
Oh, he said, s. Is the bed. You can't cuss on FCC radio just Yet. But we're trying to propose a bill so we can, because we really want to. George, what's your truth?
Caller/Listener
Dr. Fauci can't handle the truth.
John Clay Wolf
That is no joke. That is a very valid point. Alan in Texas, what's your truth?
Caller/Listener
Yes. Well, let's see. Everything is good in Rockwell.
John Clay Wolf
Okay, hung up. Ricky, what's your truth? We're going quick. Jupiter.
Caller/Listener
Truth is, Lincoln Mark 8 is a cool car. I don't care what.
John Clay Wolf
Zach in Indianapolis, what's your truth?
Caller/Listener
I want to know your truth. I'm 38. Do you think my kids will see missiles fly over America in the time of war?
John Clay Wolf
I'm thinking. You see that?
Show Announcer
I'm pausing.
John Clay Wolf
Yes. Do I think that my truth. Yes. Crazy enough.
Bobbo
Canada had any nuts at all? Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Shane in Illinois, what's your truth?
Caller/Listener
Oh, the truth is Jesus, man. Jesus is the truth. There you go.
John Clay Wolf
Good one, Ken. California. One more. California.
Caller/Listener
The truth is that every time Def Leppard, Journey or Billy Idol comes on the radio, I immediately turn it off. There you go.
Satan
Wow.
Hayden
Dang. I was gonna play some Def Leppard too.
John Clay Wolf
Now I think you should just for health, just. Yeah, okay.
Bobbo
Screw that guy.
John Clay Wolf
Metallica. Are we going out? Is it time to go out?
Hayden

J.D. Ryan
I couldn't believe you were gonna start at 5. West coast, damn.
John Clay Wolf
So on the East Coast, Aaron Rodgers is turning into a grumpy old man and telling everybody to kiss his ass is what it sounds.
J.D. Ryan
On Monday, Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, he was on the Pat McAfee show and spoke on several subjects. First on Dr. Alex Anthony Fauci. I mean the way basically the he was talking about the way Fauci refused to answer questions before the Senate committee. Number one, can you tell us about
John Clay Wolf
the mindset of coming into your last season?
J.D. Ryan
Like that's a real thing.
John Clay Wolf
It feels like, because is everything better? Is everything funner?
J.D. Ryan
Is everything more awesome?
John Clay Wolf
I'm gonna plead the fifth.
Bobbo
Okay.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. Gotta love that guy. Okay. Like that absolute coward Tony Fashion.
Bobbo
Absolutely.
John Clay Wolf
Are you kidding me?
J.D. Ryan
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Seriously, what are they going to say about me now? Now, now that you can't talk about the COVID stuff because obviously it was, it was made, you know, in a lab in China. That's like not even questionable anymore. Tony Fauci is an absolute criminal.
J.D. Ryan
Hot. Everybody's screaming in the background. Roger also expounded on everything from the Patriots head coach and the big affair with the reporter Nespn's responsibility to cover more important topics.
John Clay Wolf
And how much time did the network spend on my responses every week on my vaccination status on Taylor and Travis's wedding. On that note, then there was another scandalous off season too, involving a voter for MVP for coach of the year. How much time do you. Did your network spend. Did your network spend on that? And it's just like nobody can talk about it. What are we even doing? Personal lives are personal lives. Like you of all people should know that.
Caller/Listener
Wow. Wow.
Bobbo
He didn't mention a name there though. No, we know he's talking about Mike Rabel's girlfriend.
J.D. Ryan
Sure.
Bobbo
Diana Rossini. He's a beauty. He's a beauty. And she was a voter for mvp.
Hayden
Yeah. Just happens to be married while he's going with her.
Jeff
So.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
Bobbo
He's a football coach. He's a football coach.
J.D. Ryan
What does that mean?
Bobbo
The head coach.
J.D. Ryan
It's okay. To cheat.
Bobbo
The head coach is the head coach.
J.D. Ryan
It's okay.
Bobbo
We don't question the fish. You know, I'm talking to. Listen to the Giants. They were gonna make it back into this thing.
J.D. Ryan
Here we go.
Bobbo
You gotta thrust the fish.
J.D. Ryan
Forget about it.
Bobbo
Rush the tuna well.
Hayden
And you think he's just. Aaron Rodgers doesn't care anymore. He's just taking a blow towards.
J.D. Ryan
He doesn't care anymore. I'm done. What are you gonna do to me now?
Hayden
NFL? Yeah. What are you gonna do to me?
J.D. Ryan
What are you gonna do to me now? Yeah.
Bobbo
It's almost like he's an Ivy League quarterback or something. High and mighty rich bastard is pretty high.
J.D. Ryan
He's the Aaron Rodgers.
John Clay Wolf
What else you got?
J.D. Ryan
What else we got? How about this? Back in 06, 2006, do you remember a lot of the crazy stuff that was on reality TV was huge. Everybody was getting into it. The one guy that tried to have a comeback was O.J. simpson. Did you even know about this? There was a reality show called Juiced.
Chip Foose
Yeah.
J.D. Ryan
Did you hear about this, Mike? Where basically O.J. simpson was gonna pull pranks on people like, hey, look, I'm wearing the gloves anyway.
Bobbo
Kidding.
John Clay Wolf
I'm not gonna really.
Bobbo
It does fit.
J.D. Ryan
It does. I'll be damned. This is a little clip of the trailer. When they try to, you know when TV shows, they try to pitch it, so they come up with a little trailer. This is the trailer for juiced. Cut three.
John Clay Wolf
The Bronco is one of the major symbols of his wife's murder. He's joking about it. It's a Bronco.
Bobbo
You know, I made this car famous.
John Clay Wolf
There's no way anybody with half a brain cell thought a show about OJ
Commercial Announcer
Simpson pranking people would be a good idea.
John Clay Wolf
You've been juiced.
J.D. Ryan
It's been in a vault for 20 years. Until now you've been juiced. And of course, part of the actual trailer was cut number four.
Bobbo
The prank show was a front to get OJ's control confession.
John Clay Wolf
You get a few cocktails in this
J.D. Ryan
guy and he becomes a Chatty Cathy.
Show Announcer
He started talking about the case.
John Clay Wolf
We shouldn't talk about this on camera. I don't exactly who did it. Could this be the last piece of the puzzle?
Jeff
O.J.
John Clay Wolf
had his girlfriend on set. Didn't you want to hear what he admitted to me in that hotel room that night?
Caller/Listener
Turn the camera off.
Show Announcer
OJ. Unseen Exploitation of Evil.
J.D. Ryan
An ID documentary event September 7th on ID.
Bobbo
I'm just saying. Not get guilty by the jury of his peers. Civil War number Two's over. We lost.
J.D. Ryan
I'm just saying. He wrote a book called if I.
Bobbo
If I Did it. Yeah.
Hayden
So there's.
John Clay Wolf
Did he ever admit before he died.
J.D. Ryan
No, no, no, no bedside confident confessions.
Bobbo
But he was the only, the only former, you know, all pro running back to actually have the opportunity to steal his own rewards. You know, that is true.
Caller/Listener
Pretty.
J.D. Ryan
Notice what he actually went to jail for, right?
Hayden
Yeah.
J.D. Ryan
I still remember when he visited our studio in Dallas. I was standing out in the yard, you know, like we do. We walk breaks and we get a little fresh air. I'm standing there talking to a guy and OJ's the limo pulls in, OJ and two girls get out. And I go, Dude, OJ Simpson's walking up behind you. He goes, shut up. That's not even funny. I go, no, O.J. simpson's walking behind you. He's like, what is your point? And then OJ walks by and goes, hey, dudes, what's up? Whoa. And he was coming in.
John Clay Wolf
Michael was there.
J.D. Ryan
How did he say it was? He boys was up.
Bobbo
Hide it, ho. I'm O.J.
J.D. Ryan
simpson. I'm here to kill you. Yeah, Mike was there.
Hayden
He was one of the sleaziest. Like, just not him. He just felt his people to deal with. It was very sleazy, the whole thing. Oh, yeah, yeah. And he was just. It's all about money and shot. You know, I'll do this and do that for money, money, money. And there's a fact there was a. All Internet broadcast. I've got this clip pulled up. Do you remember when he was on this broadcast? And this is back in the time before really popular doing it where he gets. He's taking phone calls and so you're
John Clay Wolf
producing a radio call in show in Dallas, Texas. This is not that long after the murder trial was over. And Mike's the producer and he's sitting there with O.J. and this guy calls him.
Hayden
Yeah, this is the. This is the setup here, guys.
Caller/Listener
Let's go to Kevin.
John Clay Wolf
I believe in New Jersey.
Caller/Listener
Kevin, what's your question for oj?
John Clay Wolf
Kevin, what's your question for oj?
Caller/Listener
Hi. Good show, dude. My kid, my kid Chris was wondering, do you think it was a bigger feat to break 2,000 yards in one season or slice two necks in one night? I'm having a little trouble.
J.D. Ryan
Kevin, hearing you, I.
Bobbo
All right.
John Clay Wolf
Alex is listening to us in Ohio.
Caller/Listener
Hey, Alex. Yes. Hey, Alex. Hey, how you doing? Not good. Can you hear me, Juice? Yes, I can hear you, buddy.
J.D. Ryan
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Remember when you played for the 49ers.
Caller/Listener
Yeah, yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Did you kill Bill Walsh?
Caller/Listener
How you doing? Not too bad, Steve. It was reported back during the famous chase, you know, that went on in 94. Yes, it was reported on CBS3 here and you're in Philadelphia. That Larry meant he. That you were squeezing your helmet. That I was what?
John Clay Wolf
Hey, how are you doing?
Caller/Listener
Not bad, Brett. Hey, O.J. you know, I had a question for you.
John Clay Wolf
You know, with everything that, that Michael
Caller/Listener
Vick has been going through and being indicted, I was just wondering if you wanted to meet me on the Jersey Shore to do live.
John Clay Wolf
There we go. But that's the great thing.
Chip Foose
It's.
Caller/Listener
Well, no, I don't mind.
Hayden
I mean, so, yeah, that was the, you know, one after another, just calls.
John Clay Wolf
What do you think he wanted to ask him about doing, meeting him on the Jersey Shore?
Hayden
Who knows? We just had a dump out at that point because he was getting really frustrated and his handlers like, no more calls like this.
John Clay Wolf
But he said it was okay. Yeah, but he lied.
J.D. Ryan
Well, yeah, I mean, you're live on the air. You can't go.
Bobbo
You.
John Clay Wolf
I'm gonna kill you.
J.D. Ryan
I mean, whoops. I didn't mean that. I didn't mean I'm gonna kill you. What I meant was him.
Satan
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Hey, buddy. It's good. No, I like it. That's what he said. And so he's giving y' all hand signals saying, get rid of all these people.
Hayden
Well, and his handlers are in there in the booth and like, stop, Cut him off.
John Clay Wolf
Cut him.
Hayden
No more, no more. It's like. And these handlers were. I, I don't know for sure, but I think there was mob ties. It just, I had that vibe about it.
J.D. Ryan
Yeah, that would make sense.
Hayden
I, I really believe they were all
J.D. Ryan
trying to make money off.
John Clay Wolf
Oh, for sure.
J.D. Ryan
Whatever was left of his image.
John Clay Wolf
We'll be back in a minute. We're going to do a lightning round when we come back, which is dial a deal. Call in 8008-0072-3480-0800, 7234. 800, 800 radio. Bobbo
Sell us your car. Give me the vin.com so easy you can do it in your underwear.
Show Announcer
Now back to the John Clay Wolf show, presented by givemethevin.com hit him up right now. 1, 800, 800, right? Radio. 1, 800, 800, radio. This is the John Clay Wolf show.
John Clay Wolf
All right, here's some calls. 41 Chevy pickup. 6, 6 inline 6 blue. Blue fiberglass fenders. Non original. Block wants 14 grand. Reuben, is this what needs to be finished? On it
Caller/Listener
one more time, sir.
John Clay Wolf
Is there anything that needs to be done to it to finish it?
Caller/Listener
No.
I mean, the miserable part is you gotta bleed the brakes a little bit more than you want to. My dad just tired of things with it.
John Clay Wolf
I'm gonna have. I'm gonna have Mike Thompson get. I'm gonna have Mike Thompson call you. He'll be calling from a Reno, Nevada phone number. And understood. He will get. He will get some more specifics, but I bet we get it bought. So treat him. Whatever he said, whatever he says, I back up. He works with us.
Caller/Listener
Understood.
Thank you.
John Clay Wolf
Thank you. Thank you. 66F100. It's got a 427Cobra jet in it. Resto mod, blah, blah, blah. On a scale of 1 to 10, is it. Is it finished? Demi?
Caller/Listener
Yes, it's best. 428 Cobra Jet.
John Clay Wolf
Is it finished?
Caller/Listener
Yes, it's finished. It's. It's a complete resto mod frame off restoration, powder coated frame, stainless steel brake lines, vintage air disc brakes. It's got a Holley sniper 650 on top, dual injected.
John Clay Wolf
Is it 40 to 50 grand?
Caller/Listener
That's what's in it? Yes.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah. Is that what buys it?
Caller/Listener
I'm just curious. And I don't. I. You know, I don't know. I'm gonna take it to the auto Rome this year and see if I can place in November here in Houston. And I'm gonna see what I can do.
John Clay Wolf
Thank you.
Caller/Listener
Just kind of calling. I'm curious. I'm a pipeliner. I'm running up.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah, we're thinking the same thing. When you get ready to sell it, go to givemetheven.com we'll buy it. Thank you, Jim in St. Cloud, Minnesota. 13 Mustang GT6 speed. So it's a coupe. It's not a convertible. It's a stick. It's got 1400 miles and it's a roush supercharged stage two. What color is it?
Caller/Listener
It's the triple coat paint job. It's. It's either gotta have it green or green. Envy the window sticker and the build sheet.
John Clay Wolf
Dipper, did you buy it new?
Caller/Listener
But if I know I did not when I bought had 345 miles on it. It's got a hell of a story.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah. How many. How many miles are it now?
Caller/Listener
1400 and change. I got it covered site. I didn't run out and look.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. Sounds like a 30 grander to me.
Caller/Listener
Let's see. Well, it's got other things. It's got a. It's got weld racing wheels with brand new tires on it. And I have the original wheels and tires that probably have less than 300 miles on them.
John Clay Wolf
I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but all the, all the little details, all those tiny details about this tire has 20 miles and this one has 36. When we go to sell it, nobody cares. They don't. They listen, but they don't care. It doesn't change the market on that car. So we're looking at a 1500, 1600 mile car. That's a stage two with a supercharger. I'll give 30 grand. Do you want to sell it? I might, I might. Or I can go up a little bit. So do.
Chip Foose
Do this.
John Clay Wolf
Go to givemetheven.com load up the photos and put on the notes. John, hit me at 30 grand on the radio. Takes 35 and then we won't be so pressed for time on the radio right now. You know, it's. We got to keep moving real fast so we can take a minute, take a breath and make a decision. Does that make sense?
Caller/Listener
Okay.
John Clay Wolf
Thank you. I'm good at 30. You're 35. Send me the photos and this stuff and save all the. All the. Just let it be what it is. The stories don't matter, unfortunately. It just is what it is. And you got a good one, a real good. And I want to buy it. Yeah, just go to givemetheven.com let's get
Caller/Listener
more parts on it. It's got a heavy duty adjustable panhard bar in the back.
Hayden
Not helping.
Caller/Listener
It Shifter.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah, I hear you. It's all good. You know what? Write all that out. When it. When it says comments, like things you want us to know, just write it all out. And we will have an opportunity to go through all that and we can try to get your 35 number. Okay?
Caller/Listener
Okay, sir, thank you.
John Clay Wolf
Thanks for calling. My name is John Clay Wolf by Carson Radio for America's best car buyer. Givemetheven.com be right back. An epidemic is sweeping across our once great nation, and its name is the
Show Announcer
John Clay Wolf Show.
John Clay Wolf
My baby Sharon is a winch. I swear to God, the other day she cast a spell called peeking peekaboo. And I'm telling you, that disappeared right
Caller/Listener
in front of my eyes.
Show Announcer
And now we return to the internationally renowned John Clay Wolf show. Hit him up, 800, 800 radio. 800, 800 radio. And check out the podcast@jcwshow.com now. John Clay Wolf man.
John Clay Wolf
These time zones, you don't realize it the time zones until you're in a different one, you know, cuz like, like we live in Texas and ours is central, which, like could be called normal country.
Bobbo
Much of the country central.
John Clay Wolf
It's correct. It's central. It's the right time zone. Everybody else's time zone is wrong, right? I mean, the fruity Californians in the west, the angry east coast, the hippie mountain time zone, but the normal is central.
J.D. Ryan
Central.
John Clay Wolf
So I'm out here in Cali and my alarm went off at 3:30am so that I could do the show that I normally wake up at 7am to do. And it just makes me mad.
Hayden
Yeah, it makes you mad.
J.D. Ryan
I was surprised. I was surprised you're gonna start at 5am that time. It's like, God, that's really the middle of the night.
John Clay Wolf
And we went to dinner last night and I'm like, foose, give me the alarm code and a key to this place so I can get in in the morning. He's like, oh, no, I'm gonna do it. I'm like, no, you're not. He said, yeah, I'm gonna be there. He said, I'll be there for. I'm like, don't do that. He's like, you're my guest. I like, I don't want. I feel guilty. Don't get up that early. Just get. Give me a key and then you can come in when you get up. And he beat me here.
J.D. Ryan
God, really? Yeah, he's one of those people.
John Clay Wolf
He's one of those people.
J.D. Ryan
Morning people.
John Clay Wolf
I mean, it's just. He Wow. I just felt guilty. But yeah, the time zones now, Phoenix, they have a weird shift, don't they, on daylight savings time? Part of Arizona, they don't observe anymore.
Hayden
Which, by the way, did you see that?
J.D. Ryan
Yes.
Hayden
May go away for good.
J.D. Ryan
Go away for good. So will we stay on this time zone or we go to the other one?
Hayden
Well, we're in.
J.D. Ryan
Currently, right now, we stay in daylight savings time.
Hayden
Yes.
Caller/Listener
Oh, good.
Hayden
Which I think is great.
J.D. Ryan
Me too.
Bobbo
Works.
John Clay Wolf
I'll tell you something else about California, and the Californians don't realize it, but you really realize it as a Texan. So what time. JD yes. Is it okay for your cell phone to be ringing for non family, non emergency business calls?
J.D. Ryan
Me personally, yeah.
John Clay Wolf
What time? Do you think it's okay?
J.D. Ryan
Not actually anything after nine is acceptable.
Caller/Listener
Why?
John Clay Wolf
What is yours, Charlie? What is your. I know his internal transition. Like, okay, I know you wake up early, but what time do you like
Hayden
people that 7:30 is about? You know, like, if it's at 7, I occasionally have somebody it's on the east coast that'll call at that time. I'm like, all right. Because I'm still going through my routine of stuff. I'm like, so the door is closed until 7:30.
John Clay Wolf
What about you, Bob?
Bobbo
Y' all are talking about AM right?
Show Announcer
Yes, yes.
J.D. Ryan
Okay.
Bobbo
Because listen, man, if on the off chance that one of my bays may look me up, I have no limit, I have no limitations. I'm here for you, honey. Absolutely. Can I come get you?
J.D. Ryan
Anytime.
Bobbo
Would you like to have a waterburger?
J.D. Ryan
I'm like, Denny's always open.
Bobbo
Always.
John Clay Wolf
So always. I think 8:00 clock a.m. yep. Is the clearance time. And then J.D. what's, what's your cutoff time at night? Yeah, like the, like you're raised right and, and you don't call people past this time. What time would that be?
J.D. Ryan
10 o' clock period. That's it. Ye.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah.
J.D. Ryan
10pm is unless it's something's on fire or somebody's dead. That's the only time you call after 10 now.
Hayden
9 o' clock for me.
J.D. Ryan
Well, yeah, you go to bed super early, though.
Bobbo
10pm is pretty, pretty late for my lifestyle.
J.D. Ryan
You too?
Bobbo
Yeah, but. No, but darling, you call. You call, I'm here.
John Clay Wolf
So not. So eight in the morning is a. Is kind of a deal. To 10pm To 9, I think 9.
J.D. Ryan
9.
John Clay Wolf
I think 9 is the dark. Can I call? You text first. Hey, are you available?
Hayden
Yes.
John Clay Wolf
Like, the phones aren't. Oh, the phones are open from 8 to 9, tops. And out here, it's an hour earlier, for sure. So seven in the morning is when the day gets started in the business. Day gets started and they roll the streets up earlier in LA also. And I bet that that's a function of so many people deal with other people in different time zones and they're out here on the west coast time zone, so they just had to adapt to getting started earlier in the morning. Yeah. That's my opinion.
J.D. Ryan
We get customers on the West Coast. It's. We started 9:00am in our office and I realized, oh, it's seven. I'm not going to call them at 7:00'. Clock. Right, right. We wait till 11 here.
Hayden
But don't you like. I like being on the West Coast. You can start your day early and be done early.
J.D. Ryan
I think you're a psychopath who starts their day early.
Bobbo
You do notice that after a while, though, John, dealing with people on the west coast, like, I've never been exposed to that before this job.
John Clay Wolf
Right.
Caller/Listener
Like, they're.
Bobbo
They're used to it and they're tolerant, but that's at different levels. That's at different friendliness levels.
J.D. Ryan
Yeah.
Bobbo
You know your old friend, what was his. Oh, man. Pete Tilden.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah.
Bobbo
You know, he's. He's very. He's very, very tolerant. Never been mean about anything, but he prefers to. To get a text and call you back. A lot of people on the west coast use that.
John Clay Wolf
Right. There's irritated people as a whole.
Bobbo
Yes.
John Clay Wolf
Tripping Daisy. Do y' all remember that band?
J.D. Ryan
Of course.
Bobbo
Yeah. I saw him open for Def Leppard in 2016. That's true.
John Clay Wolf
So they're playing at the Walnut Springs Roadhouse October 4th.
J.D. Ryan
That'd be a great show.
Chip Foose
Yep.
John Clay Wolf
Isn't that random?
J.D. Ryan
Really? It's really random.
John Clay Wolf
I mean, I, you know, George Clinton, the P Fun All Stars in Walnut Springs would be the only more random thing that we could do.
J.D. Ryan
But that's going to be a great show.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
It's a Sunday afternoon.
Hayden
Oh, you know, come on, jd.
J.D. Ryan
The boat.
John Clay Wolf
I mean, it just worked out that way. And they're going to start a tour, so they're going to start there. That's their kickoff show. It's kind of a war. Oh, is that right? Yeah. So they can warm up. Warm up.
J.D. Ryan
It's just rehearsal.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah. But. Yeah, well, we will. We're selling tickets at Walnut Springs Rally or Walnut Springs roadhouse.com. tripping Daisy will be playing October 4th and it will. It's a big band for a small venue and it'll be one of those special deals.
Hayden
I'll tell you what. That it's. To see them in a small venue. It's a treat. I. I remember in 99 seeing them at Rick's Place. For folks in Texas, you'll know, in Denton.
John Clay Wolf
Sure.
Hayden
And that place had a little balcony that went over. And the weight. I mean, the sound in that small room that they put out. I mean, I. It blew my socks off. It was amazing.
John Clay Wolf
Bring your earplugs.
Hayden
Yes. And the energy.
John Clay Wolf
Too loud.
Hayden
Oh, their energy's great. I can't wait to hear the song. This is one of my favorite songs too. From there, I mean, they're just. I'm excited. This is one of those bands. I'm like, all right, John. I guess I'm gonna have to go in afternoon.
J.D. Ryan
We're staying.
John Clay Wolf
Sure. They jam.
Chip Foose
They jam.
John Clay Wolf
When I was in college and I first started promote, you know, did the club thing and the bar thing and start promoting concerts. That was tripping. Daisy was one of my first big ones.
Hayden
Really?
John Clay Wolf
Yeah. They were just badass. I mean, they outgrew our room. We only had them once, but. Because the time they played our room, they were too big for it by then. It was before their MTV stuff, but they were a big deal in Dallas.
Hayden
They like playing small venues.
Chip Foose
They.
Hayden
They did that for a while. Even when they got big, they would never once in a while like the Rick's place, stuff like that. It's just kind of connect with the people. So that's what they're doing again here in Walnut Springs. That'd be amazing.
John Clay Wolf
They're Nirvana. That didn't hit the level of Nirvana. Yeah, there's a decent analogy.
Caller/Listener
Yep.
Hayden
They just stopped playing in 99 once their guitarist Wes died.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah, that was it.
Hayden
They're just like, we're done.
John Clay Wolf
It's a good clip. I'm excited about that. Booking Turn Hike. Tributors are playing too. You know, is going to be huge for the huge man. And then we. We have the car show. I forgot the date of it. And then the. The rally is the bike rallies. October 22nd.
Hayden
So the 15th is the rally as the car show. The 22nd, the bike show.
John Clay Wolf
And Foo said, he will come. And I said, you don't have time to come because you've got to get your cars ready for Sammy. Said, I'm going to be there, period. I was like, okay.
J.D. Ryan
Damn.
John Clay Wolf
Say he's one of those guys. He's a good guy. 8008-0072-3480-0800 radio.
Hayden
And then at the rally. In fact, it's Sir Minus around Talk. He's going to be doing an event for it too. Right.
John Clay Wolf
Sir Minus is the fellow who walked the Appalachian Trail last year, the whole thing, and called us every Saturday with an update. And Minus, you are doing a walk for charity from Denton, Texas to Walnut Springs, is that correct?
Caller/Listener
That's right. We're doing 14 days from October 11th to October 24th, 2100. 150 miles.
John Clay Wolf
Golly, that's amazing. How do people that want to do the walk with you join?
Caller/Listener
So if you follow my Instagram JCW Hike to Bike Rally, we have a link tree set up in there. You can and find out all the information or you can go to pinkheartfunds.com which is the charity that we're working for. So far we've raised about a thousand dollars. Four other three other people hiking with me, I've got Mr. Jeffrey Green from Pink Heart Funds and two of the guys I met last year on the Appalachian Trail by the names of Two Meals and Struggle Bus.
J.D. Ryan
Two Meals and Struggle Bus.
John Clay Wolf
So do me a favor. You met Danielle at Gas Monkey the other day. Do you have her contact information?
Caller/Listener
I've got her business card right here.
John Clay Wolf
Says she needs to put a link to your effort on the rally page. And there's two rally pages. I don't know why we did that. There's Walnut Springs, Texas Rally and there's Walnut Springs Rally. But ask her and tell her you talk to me to link up so people can find you because that's pretty neat. That's crazy, but it's neat.
J.D. Ryan
Can I meet you and join and just walk? I know this sounds like a wimp, but maybe the last 10 miles. Is anybody join you along the way?
Caller/Listener
Yeah, I've actually talked to several people I met during 4th of July and other events. And I've got people that are interested in doing sections from their home that's nearby.
Satan
Right.
Caller/Listener
I've actually John, you were asking last time about all the places that we are going to sleep along the way. I've got nearly like out of all of. I've got like 11 or 12 out of 14 places picked out for the rest of the way. We've got Renegar Ranch, Cross Timbers Trailhead, Homestead, trying to get somewhere in the Fort Worth stockyards to sleep.
John Clay Wolf
Can I ride on my motorcycle next to you?
Caller/Listener
Hey man, we'll take you. You can be our road crew in front of us and tell people not to run over us.
John Clay Wolf
Cool. Hike JCW Hike to Bike Rally on Instagram if you are a hiker and you want to do it for charity, go there. And I'm gonna make a donation to it also. So send me a link and we will keep following up with you as we get closer to the date.
Caller/Listener
I'll make sure Amy gets that.
John Clay Wolf
Thank you. 8008-0072-3480-0800 radio. When we come back, we need to do some news with speech impediment. Terrence. So, Terrence, warm up your vocal cords, do your mouth exercises. We're going to put you on the main stage here in a minute. We'll be right back. I am worth more. Am I worth more?
Bobbo
Yeah, I'm worth a whole lot more.
Jeff
You know what? You're right. @givemethevin.com you are worth more and your car's worth more. And we want to pay more at give me the vin. Because good cars are worth more and so are you. For top price, trust and ease of transaction. GiveMeTheVin.com, america's best car buyer. And remember, if we don't beat a deal from Carvana or Carmax, we'll pay you a hundred bucks.
Bobbo
Sell us your car. GiveMeTheVin.com so easy, you can do it in your underwear.
Show Announcer
And now we return to the John Clay Wolf show, presented by GiveMeThe. Vin.com call in 800-800-Radio.
John Clay Wolf
Jcwshow.com we're broadcasting fecal matters. So why shouldn't they wear it?
J.D. Ryan
What talking about?
John Clay Wolf
Okay, so like Lady Gaga, Kylie Jenner, Demi Moore, they've got dressmakers. The fashion in Paris, materias faecalis. It's called that. The design duo behind materials, faecalis, which translate to fecal matter. So they're putting fecal matter in there. Designs for dresses. That's true.
Bobbo
Zendaya.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah.
Bobbo
From the Euphoria show.
John Clay Wolf
This is true. This is true.
Bobbo
Her strapless gown with feathered white wings was the work of material in English. That's fecal matter. The Paris based high end fashion house has been doing this of late and is finally catching on here in the United States.
Hayden
Why?
Bobbo
I don't know.
Caller/Listener
What?
Hayden
What?
John Clay Wolf
So like, will it be, Will it be in vogue? Like if you stripe up on your lower back. Just leave it.
Caller/Listener
I don't know, man.
Hayden
Oh, God, somebody farted.
J.D. Ryan
I get. I can't believe we're having this discussion.
Hayden
Is this real? This is a bit, right?
J.D. Ryan
Yeah. It's got to be a bit.
John Clay Wolf
It's a bit, right?
Hayden
No one's wearing feal matter.
Bobbo
There's a celebrity stylist named Brad Goreski. And he said, and I quote, there's this beautiful tension in their work between the finesse and the decaying and the strong and the soft.
Hayden
Is that B.J. ryan, everybody? I didn't know B.J.
John Clay Wolf
were like Leanne. I don't know who that is.
Bobbo
What kind of a name is Gaseki?
Hayden
Do you wear fecal matter, bj?
Caller/Listener
God, no.
John Clay Wolf
Not even at home?
Bobbo
Not even in bed.
John Clay Wolf
B.J. ryan, did you see where Prez Hilton tried to kill himself on TikTok last week?
Caller/Listener
A parasite.
Bobbo
Hilton's such a raggedy.
John Clay Wolf
Oh, good Lord, he's a raggedy. Ask my brother did. Hey, J.D. perez, I told you how he was a raggedy.
Hayden
You don't talk to your brother.
J.D. Ryan
Hey, I have a bonus Florida story for you guys. We missed this Florida story.
Bobbo
Thank God.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
J.D. Ryan
I'm talking about your topic at all, on any level. First of all, I think the Paris Hilton thing is sad. It's not funny. I don't see anything funny.
Bobbo
I'm sorry I brought it up. Wait, I didn't.
J.D. Ryan
And I don't think the crap on your clothes is funny either. So I'm just trying to stand back and let y'.
Satan
All.
Hayden
John, hold on. John. JD's. JD had a heart procedure done.
John Clay Wolf
So, yeah, I'm also a little crabby
J.D. Ryan
because I'm wasting nitroglycerin. Okay, so I'm a little crappy.
Bobbo
He's wasting no time.
John Clay Wolf
Did y' all see where Perez Hilton tried to kill himself on.
J.D. Ryan
Yeah, John, let's talk about suicide.
John Clay Wolf
Well, he didn't kill himself. He just hurt himself. This is ridiculous. It's. I mean, this is what society in this crazy streaming and chase. I mean, that. I mean, that's the ultimate grab for attention. It's. It's. You can't say that on the radio. It is crazy. Did you dump me?
Chip Foose
Yes.
John Clay Wolf
Why did you dump me? I didn't need to be dumped yourself. You said you can't say it on the radio. No, you can say it if you say it in the right. The right context. And I felt like I said it in the right context, but that's fine, honey, since you're my, you know, controller,
Bobbo
somebody needs to make no anniversary gift for you.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah, I. I just can't get over that the attention. Desires of people on social media has taken. Has created psychosis. And what he was doing was psychotic.
Hayden
Well, that's why Meta got sued in New Mexico. $350 million, right? Something like that.
John Clay Wolf
For what?
Hayden
For kids. They're. They're basically addicted to it. So some of them a parent, I don't know. I don't know the full story of it, but the parent ended up, I
J.D. Ryan
guess the kid are talking about the gentleman. The kid that asked AI about suicide.
Hayden
Correct?
J.D. Ryan
Yes, the kid asked about suicide and AI gave it and gave the person an answer like, well, if you're going to do it, here's how to do it it instead of don't do it, call for help.
Hayden
Well, that's a different story, but I know Chuck. Okay, no, this is just There, it's scrolling.
John Clay Wolf
Hilton Gay.
Hayden
I believe he is.
Bobbo
Yeah, well, if he's not, he'll do till the gay comes around.
John Clay Wolf
I don't know what that means.
Bobbo
Well, of course he is. Didn't he say he is?
John Clay Wolf
I don't know.
Hayden
I don't know anything about him.
Bobbo
There's a famous Paris Hilton. It's a girl, she's beautiful. She's an heiress to the Hilton Hotel Corporation. He changed his name to Perez Hilton.
John Clay Wolf
Mexican version.
Bobbo
That feels gay to me, John.
John Clay Wolf
Sounds Hispanic to me, Bob.
Bobbo
You may be right, but is he a gay?
John Clay Wolf
Hispanic only.
Bobbo
Don't ask him right now. Let's wait six months.
Hayden
I think we just lost a listener.
John Clay Wolf
You just lost a listener. Let's go to lastly, tell me who have pissed off lately. I can't wait.
J.D. Ryan
Oh, you lost a listener.
John Clay Wolf
Okay, just lost a listener.
J.D. Ryan
And stop me if this is inappropriate considering the conversation we just had. But it said. Hey, John, you think it's appropriate to get on the radio and talk to people about their heroin experience?
John Clay Wolf
Yes.
J.D. Ryan
You want to stop this right now or no?
John Clay Wolf
No.
J.D. Ryan
This is disgusting. I tell you an experience with heroin and it's death. I've heard the devil on your show. Maybe you should ask him how he feels about heroin. So Satan, that's she, she said the devil, the drug is sent from hell to destroy our families. But why don't you go ahead and have a big party line and tell everybody how much fun it is? I won't be tuning back in. Anna Romero from Nashville, Tennessee.
John Clay Wolf
I did not say it's fun. I've never done it. I think it's terrible. And I've said that. What I was talking about was beer is like pot vodka. Drunks that get into vodka and go strong, it's like heroin. And if you look at it that way, heroin users typically don't end up on the right side of it. They wind up in rehab or they wind up dead. So if you would listen instead of just spout your mouth and listen to what I'm saying, then you would realize that I actually agree with everything you're saying. What do you think, Satan?
Bobbo
I'm.
J.D. Ryan
Oops.
Satan
I'm.
Hayden
Hey, there he is.
Satan
I'm gonna have to plead the Fifth. I'm just. That's a fouchy joke. Come on. Come on.
John Clay Wolf
Perfect.
Satan
Listen, we all. I mean, heroin, opium's been around for longer than any of you. Sure, okay.
J.D. Ryan
That's true.
Satan
And I'm telling you, it never ends well.
J.D. Ryan
Never end.
Satan
Even. Even when the user thinks it's ending well, it's ending in about 18 hours. That's not the end of anything. That's time for your next time around. And your next time around gets closer and closer and closer. There's a. There's a great philosopher that I've studied, a fairly recent philosopher, Axl Rose.
Caller/Listener
Okay.
Chip Foose
No.
Satan
And he wrote a very intuitive piece, the title of which is Mr. Brownstone.
Hayden
Yeah.
Satan
And the truth about heroin is all right there, because I've known the best of them. I was there with them.
J.D. Ryan
I bet you were.
Satan
Jimmy Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janice, you know, it doesn't start that way. But at some point, the whiskey doesn't work anymore, right? And you're famous and you're rich. That next album better be better than the last one. Pressure, man. Pressure. You know, there's time when you need to just kind of drop out. Not like Elvis dropped out, but, you know, like, people drop out. You can be successful and quit when it's time.
Hayden
Wow. This is words of wisdom by
Satan
right.
J.D. Ryan
I feel like I need to be in church.
Caller/Listener
There's enough.
Satan
There's another philosopher, not as well known as Axl Rose, but his name is Ray Stevens, and he coined the phrase, everything is beautiful in its own way. In its own way.
Caller/Listener
Right?
Satan
But not heroin. Don't do it. In fact, if I catch you doing that and taking your Xbox away. Oh, okay.
J.D. Ryan
You're hateful. I know you.
John Clay Wolf
My name is John Clay Wolf. We'll be right back.

And, guys, if you want to sell your cars, the lightning rounds coming up in about 10 minutes, so you can. Or 15 minutes. You can go ahead and start calling now and load up your car so we're not in such a hurry. 800-800-7234. My friend Ben Rogers. I know skin also, but Ben and I have become pretty good friends. They. And this is Dallas Fort Worth Radio talk. But they're moving stations to the station that we're on in Dallas, which is 92. 5. And they're doing mornings there, so I'm really happy with them. They're starting this coming up Monday morning. I do believe they've been to the ticket. They went to the Eagles and they're doing 92. 5, which is the good station because we're there, of course, and. And they follow us over here. I can't help it. But they have this bit that I just think is so funny about this snake crap. And people believe it to be real.
Bobbo
No, really, what do you mean, snake crap?
John Clay Wolf
I'll just. I'll just play it. Just play one of the deals and we'll warm back into it.
J.D. Ryan
Okay.
Caller/Listener
Hi, this is Gary Garfield, the regional sales director at Snakes Plus. Our new campaign proudly boasts that snakes are the most deadly pets that you can own. Which is true. We stand behind by that. But the timing of this particular ad was insensitive and unfortunate considering that One of our 32 unpaid interns was temporarily swallowed whole this weekend by a 27 foot Brazilian albino anaconda. We are now officially announcing the doubling of our online training when onboarding new interns. No more wondering if the interns are trained or not. Stop by any of our 27 locations to see for yourself that our stores are basically safe. And remember, Snakes plus plus is not just a snake aisle, it's a snake store. Plus a whole lot more snakes.
John Clay Wolf
That's great. So you gotta listen to the details is why it's so ridiculous.
J.D. Ryan
Sounds so real.
John Clay Wolf
What's that one they did this week? I think our name was in it. My name was in it.
Hayden
Oh, so they actually had him on the show.
John Clay Wolf
Gary Garfield with the lift.
Hayden
Yeah, because he's. He's getting all this flak, you know, I mean there's, there's all this flack against this, but it does.
J.D. Ryan
Who's Gary?
Jeff
Who's that?
J.D. Ryan
Car?
John Clay Wolf
Gary is the owner.
Bobbo
Owner, CEO? Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Okay.
Hayden
Yes. And so he's on and on the show to defend it.
John Clay Wolf
You got to listen to the details. Is what's so funny is like how many stores they have in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex and the size of them Okay. I mean, how the hell would a snake seller have 27 locations in the DFW area?
Hayden
This is the first, here's the first one. He's defending it.
Caller/Listener
But like, first of all, from a, a purely commercial perspective, I'm a big advertiser. You know, I just re upped with Brad Jim Ander for, for 92. 5. And we have a very limited amount of advertising that we do. Right. So it's, it's obviously the Ben and Skin show. KLTY with the snake handling. John Clay Wolf is a huge supporter of mine and then of course npr.
John Clay Wolf
Hold on a second. So KLTY for those you guys around the country is the Christian station, right? That's the funny part.
Chip Foose
Yes.
Bobbo
For the snake handling.
John Clay Wolf
And he just threw my name in there to be a smart ass.
J.D. Ryan
NPR is pretty funny too.
John Clay Wolf
And I'm, I'm sorry, I want to get into this. I want to give you the full platform. But you, you do a lot of advertising with KY because of. You sell snakes to snake handling, like from a religious standpoint?
Caller/Listener
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. There's a lot of congregations in the DFW area that need to have venomous snakes for their ceremonies. And you know, someone's got to supply that. This may as well be the best snake store in the metroplex.
Jeff
Right.
John Clay Wolf
Sorry for God.
Hayden
And so then he goes on this next cut too. He's again, he's defending in all their stores, all their locations.
John Clay Wolf
Here's a more defensive 27 of them.
Caller/Listener
It's not the rattlesnake's fault. It's the rattlesnake owner's fault.
Right.
Rattlesnakes by their very nature are gentle creatures. They're, they're loving, they're great with kids. There's no reason to like, like lump them in into this, you know, make them kind of a boogeyman type creature when they're the best little serpents that you're gonna have. Kind, gentle, great with other snakes. They make a great pet. And right now they're on sale.
John Clay Wolf
Well, you're having a rattlesnake sale because of these news stories or just it's a coincidence?
Caller/Listener
You know, we've got a big back to school sale happening right now, so everyone's getting snakes to bring in for their classrooms. Because of our high volume, we're typically able to provide a great discount on this is tax.
John Clay Wolf
So yeah, great.
J.D. Ryan
God, that's funny. People really believe and they're buying it.
John Clay Wolf
Yes.
Hayden
Oh yeah.
J.D. Ryan
Where's the snake? What's it called?
John Clay Wolf
Snakes plus so they made it. They made a an X on X Twitter handle. I don't know if they did all social medias for Snakes plus but they're getting these inquiries that are so ridiculous and so real. The, the customers are. I mean who the hell is going to send rattlesnakes to a classroom they're good with.
J.D. Ryan
Hey John. The good with kids.
John Clay Wolf
It's not this rattlesnakes.
Caller/Listener
No, no.
John Clay Wolf
It's the owner.
J.D. Ryan
They get a bad rap because of the owners. Yeah, sure, they got great the best
Bobbo
little reptiles you can own.
J.D. Ryan
And now somebody will open a Snakes plus somewhere in Dallas. That'd be stupid not to.
Hayden
Well, you can catch Ben and skins Comedy now on 92.5 in the morning.
J.D. Ryan
That's cool.
John Clay Wolf
8008-0072-3480-0800 radio what else do you have in the news, Mr. J?
Bobbo
Well let's see what else.
J.D. Ryan
We do have a discarded upper stage. This is kind of weird. This week a SpaceX rocket booster. Some people thought this was fake. Crashed into the surface of the moon Wednesday morning, kicking up a massive dust cloud and scattering smashed debris for miles. This is the early reports on Fox News. It's still true even though he was on Fox. Cut number four.
John Clay Wolf
Six.
J.D. Ryan
I'm sorry.
Jeff
Scientists knew the crash was inevitable. After the rocket it went off course after launch. It was Traveling more than 5,000 miles per hour at the moment of impact.
Show Announcer
Now in teeny little pieces scattered over
John Clay Wolf
the surface of the moon near Einstein crater.
Chip Foose
Some unexpected things do happen in deep
John Clay Wolf
space flight that you don't plan for.
Chip Foose
That sometimes you got to deal with.
Jeff
It's the latest case of what's now being called lunar litter. And all that debris could complicate NASA's ambitions to return.
Caller/Listener
And.
Jeff
And SpaceX officials insist the company is working closely with NASA to avoid future wrecks as the United States races China
John Clay Wolf
back to the moon.
J.D. Ryan
So. Yeah, right. Yes, a little where that thing landed on the moon is going to keep us from going back. No, it's not.
John Clay Wolf
Stop. So when is the last time China landed on the moon?
J.D. Ryan
Oh God, never.
Hayden
No, they did.
Bobbo
They really?
John Clay Wolf
When? Shortly after us or maybe 10 years after us.
J.D. Ryan
But did. I don't believe they took people.
Bobbo
No, no, there's never been another man land on the moon. The United States is the only landed a rocket there.
J.D. Ryan
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
How the hell do we not do it with all this technology now? And how the hell did they do it back then without computers?
J.D. Ryan
Okay, seriously, you're being serious right now? We, you know, we used to take wooden Ships from Europe to America without computers. Now, navigation is something we do with.
John Clay Wolf
You can see the moon.
J.D. Ryan
Stop it. How do we get there? How do we land?
John Clay Wolf
But think about the computations. Yes, you think about the computations of
J.D. Ryan
taking a wooden sailing ship from Europe to America over and over and over in the 1800s.
Bobbo
Hey, let me tell you one thing I know about this J.D.
J.D. Ryan
oh boy, here we go.
John Clay Wolf
I was just hitting.
Bobbo
It's Miles Carey, everybody. Space experts. And if you don't think I'm a space expert, you know, I've been kicked out of the Houston Space center five times.
J.D. Ryan
Five times.
Bobbo
That makes me expert. Here's the thing about John. You think about the computations landed on the moon.
J.D. Ryan
Yeah.
Bobbo
All you gotta do is the math. Because the moon has no atmosphere. That's what provides a shroud of mystery for the SpaceX rocket crash the way it did on the surface of the moon.
Hayden
Hey, hey, can you.
John Clay Wolf
Can you say the.
Bobbo
Tell you one thing right quick.
J.D. Ryan
What?
Bobbo
The moon's got no atmosphere. Well, so why'd the sucker bounce? Break into a zillion pieces. Know why?
J.D. Ryan
Why?
Bobbo
It was a plot.
J.D. Ryan
No, it wasn't a plot.
Bobbo
Plot by NASA. NASA's shooting down SpaceX rocket boosters. It wasn't even rocket. Hey, hey.
Hayden
What?
Bobbo
It was up upper part of the booster. It was. It broke up when it hit the moon.
J.D. Ryan
It just hit the moon.
John Clay Wolf
They aimed it that way. They flinched it.
Bobbo
They got up there. They got a thing like. You ever see Star Wars Part 2?
J.D. Ryan
Yes.
John Clay Wolf
Battle of Hoff.
Bobbo
Got snow speeders. NASA's got a deal like that. You've never seen it, but people cited them over Arizona and Colorado and Brazil. They got up there just close to that rocket booster.
John Clay Wolf
Nudged it a little bit.
J.D. Ryan
No big deal. Elbow.
John Clay Wolf
Checked it like a hockey game.
J.D. Ryan
Things hit them.
Bobbo
Hey, as it gets.
John Clay Wolf
It hit the surface.
Bobbo
Broke into a thousand pieces. NASA wins. NASA wins.
Hayden
The Cubs win.
Bobbo
Cubs, Cubs win.
Caller/Listener
Say that.
Hayden
Yeah.
Bobbo
Red Sox win. Red Sox win.
J.D. Ryan
Anyway, things hit the moon all the time, like we're craters and such.
Bobbo
Here's what the good Lord said. Book of Ezekiel. Don't worry about the moon. Worry thee not. Okay.
John Clay Wolf
Hey, God.
Hayden
Mr. Carey, there's a reason why he was kicked out. How many times? Five.
J.D. Ryan
Five times out of now.
Bobbo
Five total times.
John Clay Wolf
I was in the middle.
J.D. Ryan
And that makes you an extra.
Bobbo
My new Moon Rock Nachos.
J.D. Ryan
The Moon Rock Nachos.
Bobbo
Space Center Houston Mood Rock Nachos. I've had them 14, but it tastes like 17 and a half.
J.D. Ryan
Yep. Beautiful.
Bobbo
They said get out hey.
John Clay Wolf
Hey. I forgot to tell our Florida listeners while we were on in Florida. Then I'm going to be at the Cars and Coffee Broadcasting August 29th in Tampa Bay at the Motor Enclave with Corolla. Yep. That be funny.
Chip Foose
Yep.
John Clay Wolf
I forgot all about that.
J.D. Ryan
Maybe you can bring that character with you here.
Bobbo
Cap Canaveral, to be picked out nine times.
Chip Foose
J.D.
John Clay Wolf
you're a big old Florida guy.
J.D. Ryan
I am a Florida guy.
John Clay Wolf
I mean, you're not a big old guy. I mean, you're not anymore. Anyway, after you got on the shot.
J.D. Ryan
The show. Yeah. Thank you for the shot.
John Clay Wolf
You'd probably want to go to.
J.D. Ryan
Yeah, I'd love to go with you to Florida. Hell, yeah.
Hayden
I mean, there's a lot of people
John Clay Wolf
like to go to Florida.
J.D. Ryan
Yeah. But John asked me first, so you guys can back off.
John Clay Wolf
What can ao cover the whole thing?
Caller/Listener
Sure.
Hayden
Yes.
Caller/Listener
Whatever.
Hayden
When is this? When is this?
John Clay Wolf
August 29th.
Caller/Listener
Oh, yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Hell, we'll talk about it. Speaking of Florida, the Leno thing, I could not bring y'.
Caller/Listener
All.
John Clay Wolf
Dude, that was tight.
J.D. Ryan
That was.
John Clay Wolf
That was weird. I mean, it was fun. But I mean, he wanted nobody in there. He's very particular about people being in there. Because he want in no filming. Because he doesn't want the cars to get filmed through the walkthroughs because then people won't come and pay the fee that he gives to charity.
J.D. Ryan
Totally get it.
Chip Foose
Yep.
J.D. Ryan
Totally get it.
John Clay Wolf
He was very strict about the filming.
J.D. Ryan
I was kind of surprised he let you guys do the show there. I mean, really.
John Clay Wolf
Because it was just me.
J.D. Ryan
It was just you.
John Clay Wolf
It was just me. And then the. The four people that paid to be there to Orange County Children's Hospital.
J.D. Ryan
Yep.
John Clay Wolf
That was good reason. Yeah. So, but this one's different. This one's. It's one of the largest cars in coffee. It's a big event. They do once a year. It's several. If you go to themoteronclave.com jd if you'll pay. Paste that on our Facebook page.
J.D. Ryan
I will do it now.
John Clay Wolf
Let them know we'll be broadcasting there. I don't know who all we is, but I will be there. And it could be more wheeze. We'll just have to make sure. 8008-0072-3480-0800 radio. Lightning Round is coming up next. Call in now with your car. Year, make, model, miles average, rougher clean. Year, make model miles average, rougher clean in. Be ready to sell that because we're here to buy it. Lightning Round brought to you by givemetheven.com call in now. Yes, we're live. California too. And Seattle. All you guys will buy your car over the radio. And if you don't get through on the radio, just go to givemetheven.com and our computer system will give you a quick bid on the front side and then our buyer will text you and negotiate it out. Beer of it.
Show Announcer
Now back to the John Clay Wolf show, presented by givemethevit.com hit him up right now. 1, 800, 800, radio. 1, 800, 800 radio. This is the John Clay Wolf show.
John Clay Wolf
Kurt and plano, is this 24 model rebel or 25 model rebel dodge ram truck, half ton or three quarter?
Caller/Listener
Half. Done.
John Clay Wolf
That's what I thought. But I, I was just looking at something that said that they made a three quarter and I did not know that. Is it two wheel drive or four?
Caller/Listener
Four wheel drive.
John Clay Wolf
And which engine is in it?
Caller/Listener
The hurricane, the new inline six, twin turbo.
John Clay Wolf
Okay.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Absolute six cylinder. Why do you want to sell it?
Caller/Listener
Just financial issue. Plus a lot of. It's a lot of truck for me, man. I don't have any. Put it up. Put it in four wheel drive yet.
John Clay Wolf
I gotcha. I bet you're gonna owe more on it than what I can offer. You want to bet 100?
Caller/Listener
Oh, I know that. I know I'm going to be upside down.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah, it's 38 grand.
Caller/Listener
Okay.
John Clay Wolf
What do you want it?
Caller/Listener
What do I owe on it?
John Clay Wolf
Yeah.
Caller/Listener
44, 160.
John Clay Wolf
It's not as bad as some Dodge Ram trucks. That makes you feel any better? It's weird. They just financed the rebates have gotten so heavy on them. I'm just noticing all next to new, you know, 1, 2, 34 year old Dodge Ram truck owners are upside down. So.
J.D. Ryan
Yeah.
Caller/Listener
Good luck.
John Clay Wolf
Yep. Let me know. Go to. Give me the go. Go to givemetheven.com if you want to buy, if you want to sell it. Thank you. Sean in Alabama. C4 vetted 92 oh, 8792. What year did they change the body style? Was it 92? Six. Six. So this looks like the same as 07. Yeah. And 07. 07.
Caller/Listener
Different. Different rear end. Yeah, it's got a, you know, the, the tail lights aren't round.
John Clay Wolf
Why? Because it's a different body cell. Hang on. So it, it's not the same body style as an 07 change.
Caller/Listener
Right, right. It's a, it's a C4.
John Clay Wolf
Right.
Caller/Listener
But it doesn't have the big round tail lights in the Back they. They squared the corners off.
John Clay Wolf
How much needs to be spent on the lower seats? It says need to be fixed.
Caller/Listener
Well, both of those seats. I don't know if you know about the C4, but you do not have to remove the entire seat. And it's just all I care about is mass.
John Clay Wolf
How much to fix them?
Caller/Listener
Maybe down here we'll do them for 150 a seat.
John Clay Wolf
So about 300 bucks. Okay, I'll give you eight grand and you fix both seats.
Caller/Listener
No, I can't.
John Clay Wolf
All right. I can't either.
Chip Foose
We'll be right back.
John Clay Wolf
My name is John Clay Wolf by cars. And the. These, these older Corvettes, they're. I mean, y' all heard me talk about it 100 times. They're just not. Especially if they're a little edgy. And I know that his is perfect cuz he lives in Alabama and there's no edgy cars in Alabama. Not right. And the seats are busted up. You know, it's just eight's probably too much. Truth be told. It's fine. He might find there is an ass for every seat. And especially if you'll carry the paper on these cars like when you put them. If he puts it on Facebook marketplace for 12 grand and. And will owner finance it for someone? He will get it sold. Now he might get it back. And he might get it back pretty quick. And he might get it back in repo. Not in as bad a condition as it is now, but he will get it sold. But it really doesn't count because he didn't get paid. We'll be right back.
Show Announcer
The John Clay Wolf show. Why are you Yelling? America's number one rated Saturday morning show online at JC800. 800 radio. Your Saturday morning just got an upgrade.
John Clay Wolf
I love Elvis. Elvis is the king.
Chip Foose
Without doubt, the king.
John Clay Wolf
You know he gave away over 160
Caller/Listener
Cadillacs in his career. Anybody know that? 160.
John Clay Wolf
Now you're probably thinking who did he give those to?
Hayden
Try total strangers.
John Clay Wolf
You'd be correct.
Caller/Listener
160 Cadillacs gave them away. I think that's what killed Elvis.
John Clay Wolf
It wasn't drugs. He got that bill from General Motors.
Bobbo
Oh man.
John Clay Wolf
How many Cadillacs did I give away?
Caller/Listener
I got a tour again.
John Clay Wolf
I can't even fit in my jumpsuit.
Caller/Listener
I think dying was the best career
John Clay Wolf
move Elvis ever made. I think if he lived, would he

Hayden
Yes, sir.
Bobbo
Badass in every way.
John Clay Wolf
Tripping Daisies playing at the Walnut Springs Roadhouse October 4, Sunday afternoon.
Bobbo
If you're a Daisy fan, that's gonna be awesome. Do you know what Tripping Daisy makes me think about John.
Caller/Listener
And I've always.
Bobbo
I've always thought this. And I saw him like a long time ago during their heyday. You remember the old Sid Barrett, Pink Floyd.
John Clay Wolf
They're pretty weird, man. They've got that. That I was thinking about. We'll have to darken the windows up because they have a lot of psychedelic background. They drop drapes, white sheets. And they take an overhead projector and they take oil and water. Right. Oh. And put it in the overhead projector and they swirl it around and it goes up to the whole room on these sheets and it makes you trip out.
Bobbo
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Pretty cool.
Bobbo
Yeah. Just like the Jefferson Airplane thing.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah. It's speech impediment. Terence, it is time for a news update. Good morning. I hope you're cocked and ready.
Caller/Listener
Good morning.
Hi.
Satan
Good morning.
Caller/Listener
How you do? You're in California, right?
John Clay Wolf
Correct.
Caller/Listener
Fire. Jet crash in California last week.
John Clay Wolf
I heard about that.
Caller/Listener
But anyway and you ever hear of El Toro?
John Clay Wolf
No. El Chapo.
Caller/Listener
Until my wife was buried at Motoro Memorial park in California. I'm just dropped her that. Okay. 7101 Spring Terrace. The news here there was a fire yesterday.
John Clay Wolf
I don't know. He's got a lot of uplifting news today.
Bobbo
1201 Spring Terrace.
J.D. Ryan
Spring Terrace. There was a.
Hayden
It was local news.
Caller/Listener
Yeah. Jennifer. She got put in jail for arson.
John Clay Wolf
Ouch.
Caller/Listener
I was a girl. Anyway. The CO I told about the new artificial dies. They're taking them all out. It shouldn't even change their wall anyway. The devil worth Ferrari. That's going to be a remake of the original, right?
John Clay Wolf
Ford versus Ferrari. Did you mention something about artificial dice?
J.D. Ryan
Die. Die.
Bobbo
Artificial dyes.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. In what?
Caller/Listener
It's hot everywhere. I mean very hot. Hot, hot hot. I mean sweaty hot. Your eyes. That's how hot it is to my to be singing. Singing sweat like it's in that one song. But this the Tom. Well, I thought about Tom Holland as a wedding show but very much news just that Trump is going to have us and a war.
Hayden
Okay.
Caller/Listener
I guess where as that's gonna happen and that those people in the war and I ran. I say I'm just gonna be all right.
John Clay Wolf
Terrence, you've done a wonderful thing here this morning. And you've done a wonderful job.
Bobbo
Amen. Amen, brother.
John Clay Wolf
You are running out of steam a little bit here at the end. So I think it. Think it's important thing to end on a high note with him. Don't you think, Terence?
Caller/Listener
Okay, I love everyone. Love you guys and every day we
John Clay Wolf
will see you next Saturday. Speech impediment. Terence Crab, California, what's up?
Caller/Listener
That's the second or third time I've followed Terrence. I wanted to. Oh, Charlie. Now, now, now. I wanted to ask Charlie, how good was that preseason football game? Man, I'm getting excited for your sports. You got my sports wiener and.
Hayden
Yeah, my sports football wiener is going a little. You know, it was. It was getting up there a little bit. Yeah. Seeing a little. Seeing some little football. I'm getting some college football. Getting ready. Yeah, I'm. I'm getting excited. John. Are you getting excited, John?
John Clay Wolf
I did not watch the game. Who played?
Hayden
It was Carolina versus Arizona, the Cardinals versus the Panthers. It was just preseason, but it was a competitive game. You know, watching the backups and stuff, it was actually competitive to watch.
Bobbo
Young QBs are stepping up early this season. What's his name? Man, didn't. Didn't make the grass. Non drafted.
Hayden
Yeah.
Bobbo
What a game.
Hayden
Yeah, it was. It was entertaining. I don't know if any of those players are going to be playing this year, but hey, at least we got something to. To watch on.
John Clay Wolf
What's his name?
J.D. Ryan
Haynes.
Hayden
King.
John Clay Wolf
Haynes King. Where did he play in college?
Hayden
Georgia State or Georgia Tech, Right?
John Clay Wolf
I think.
Hayden
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
Okay. And he's good?
Hayden
He's decent.
Chip Foose
All right.
John Clay Wolf
What are you doing today? Where are you?
Caller/Listener
I'm just at home doing chores and stuff and staying on hold for two freaking hours and listening on the iPhone.
John Clay Wolf
I figured that I would see you. I'm sitting over here in Foose's garage in Huntington beach, and I figured I would see you standing against the fence like a prisoner, just looking through the fence.
Caller/Listener
I didn't know nothing about that or
John Clay Wolf
he would have been.
Chip Foose
Where's Crab at?
John Clay Wolf
Crab is. Where do you live, Crab?
Caller/Listener
Temecula Valley. Hey, Chip.
John Clay Wolf
Oh, yeah.
Chip Foose
Oh, you're not too far.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah, but we'll be done by the time he gets here.
Chip Foose
Yep.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
Chip Foose
How did.
John Clay Wolf
How did the picking go?
Chip Foose
Well, I got a 32 Ford throttle pedal. That's all I found.
Caller/Listener
All right.
Chip Foose
Yeah.
Caller/Listener
All right.
Chip Foose
Just to put it in the inventory,
John Clay Wolf
what did you pay for said throttle pedal?
Chip Foose
50 bucks.
John Clay Wolf
50 bucks?
Chip Foose
It was marked at 75. I offered 50 and I got it.
John Clay Wolf
Well, did. Did you offer four? Did y' all negotiate much or you said, I'll give you 50.
Chip Foose
No, I said, here, I'll give you 50 bucks.
John Clay Wolf
All right.
Chip Foose
Said I'll take it. I'm building this Model T over here, right? And I know I could make it work if I wanted to use it. That's why I grabbed it.
John Clay Wolf
Oh, speaking of guys, I learned this from Mike Wolf. Rob Wolf Pickers put a shout out. I'm going to be traveling Thursday, Friday, Saturday in the West. If anybody has a collection of cars that they want to sell and they're serious, go to jcwbuys.com or our jcwshow.com and click email John direct. Because I'm setting up my schedule right now. I can stop with a film crew and we will make a buy if there's something to do. If you're familiar with our YouTube channel, then you know exactly what I'm talking about. If you're not, please go to our YouTube channel and you'll watch. I'm a lot nicer in person than I am on the radio. Radio is different. Chip and I are actually going to Laguna Niguel Sunday, tomorrow. Tomorrow to go buy a handful of cars from a collector. And what we do and what I'll do with you when you call me on yours is I want to buy. Agree to buy a couple of them before I make the arrangements to come see your 20 or 50 or 30 cars. Because if we're not realistic on price, then I don't want to stop. Because when I do these videos, I need to buy cars. You know, there's nothing worse than doing a 45 minute video and the viewer watches the whole thing and at the end it's just a big dud. They want to, they want to see a deal go down. And I do too.
Chip Foose
That's happen often.
John Clay Wolf
It happens when I don't do what I'm talking about and don't pre preface it, test it beforehand. Yeah, it does. I. You got to do. There's a guy in, in Wyoming dying to sell us all these Porsches. I said, he's got 80 of them.
Chip Foose
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
I'm like, we've made good offers on 12 of them. And he's like. And he's like, just come out. And he says, come out, come out. And I'm like, I'm coming, but we need to buy.
Hayden
I wanna.
John Clay Wolf
He's been so flaky. I'm like, I'm buying these cars. We're paying you now. I want the titles and then I'll come. And every time I put him on the spot to do that deal. He shows his true card. He wants me to come out there and make a video that's gonna get 500, 000 views so it can market his collection. And I'm not doing that for free.
Chip Foose
He's a big himha.
John Clay Wolf
A hematologist him haw. And that's what it is. We will be right back. Chip foose just joined us. He's going to be on for this next segment. And my name is John Clay wolf. I buy cars on the radio for America's best car buyer. Givemethevin.com but remember Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, Sturgis. I'm going to go up to Sturgis for a minute. All that area. If you've got Colorado, if you've got cars in that area, Arizona. I'll stop Thursday, Friday and come buy. If you if you ever thought, well, I think I want to sell my collection. Well, right now I'm giving you. I'll come in person and buy it. But be serious about selling it and go to jcwbuys.com or go to jcwshow.com and hit me directly. Don't go to give me the vin because that goes into a whole machine. That that's not what they do. They buy normal cars, singles, all day long. Some collections as well. But if you're gonna send me like a five or more, I'm not. I'm not. I can't come for less than five. So if you got like a five pack or a 50 pack or 100 pack, I will come in person at the end of next week and do business with you and I'll give you one big number for the whole thing. That's what I loved about the guy we're going to see tomorrow. I bought the vet and he's like, well, I'm selling these two also. He said, I don't want to just sell a vet. I want to sell them all. I said you were my kind of guy. Oh, yeah.
J.D. Ryan
We're back.

Presented by givemethevid.com.
John Clay Wolf
did you get some? Did you get some?
Caller/Listener
Now I find her voice quite melodious.
John Clay Wolf
So that's hagar and hagar plays with Michael Anthony. Now. Does he ever come over? Has Hagar ever been over here?
Chip Foose
His son has been here.
John Clay Wolf
I've never seen this level. Right. I might not. Is he light?
Hayden
He's a little bit more foo, sir.
John Clay Wolf
Okay.
Chip Foose
Yeah, his son's been here a couple times, but. But I've never had Sammy here.
John Clay Wolf
Hagar's a big car nut. Yeah, yeah.
Chip Foose
Can't drive 55.
John Clay Wolf
Right, right, right. He was. So were you in the scene? What year was that? 85. When Sammy came out with that red Ferrari and the red rocker?
Chip Foose
I think it was right around then.
John Clay Wolf
Who are some car celebrities that you've been around? Can you remember we bought Dave Mustaine's Maserati, Whatever. It was. The guy from Megadeth.
Chip Foose
Yeah.
John Clay Wolf
We've done a lot of sports people. Yeah, a whole lot of Tom Brady
Chip Foose
growing up in my dad's body shop. Yeah, we had the shop in Santa Barbara. But the celebrities from Santa Barbara were all customers.
Caller/Listener
Right.
Chip Foose
They were coming in all the time.
John Clay Wolf
8008-0072-3480-0800-Radio Ray and Laguna Park. Good morning. You're on the air.
Caller/Listener
Yes, sir. I was wondering. Chip designed the Plymouth Prowler. Why didn't it have a V8 option or a V8 in it?
Chip Foose
Well, when I designed it originally, I planned on putting a Hemi in it and that I intended. But, you know, to say that I designed the Prowler would be a slap in the face to all the engineers and designers that actually did it at Chrysler. My model that I did as my senior project at Art center was the inspiration for it. Why it had a V6 in it, I have no idea that. I think it was a mistake.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah, big mistake.
Chip Foose
Big mistake.
John Clay Wolf
Huge mistake.
Caller/Listener
Well, thank you.
Chip Foose
They'd still be selling them today if they had a big power.
John Clay Wolf
Those cars have been bringing 26,000 with no miles on them for 10 years. 20 years, yeah. The market hasn't moved on them. Has anybody put a charger on one? Did it make a difference? I'm sure it makes a difference if you put a supercharger on it.
Chip Foose
Well, John Lingenfelter did one for Richard. Marriott. Yeah, Marriott hotel chain. He put the power plant in it. We brought it here, and then I did a ton of body modifications to it. And that thing would do 11, 23 in the quarter. It was an impressive car.
Caller/Listener
There you go, guys.
John Clay Wolf
Yes, sir.
Caller/Listener
All right. Appreciate it.
John Clay Wolf
Richard in Melbourne, Florida, you are on the air. Good morning. Are you still there?
Caller/Listener
Yeah, I'm still here, but I'm not selling cars to Chip.
John Clay Wolf
That's fine. I wouldn't sell them one.
Chip Foose
Sell them to John.
John Clay Wolf
He's sitting in the hospital. What happened to you?
Caller/Listener
No, I. I'm a 100 service connected, disabled Navy veteran. I was in the line with the Marines, and I. I got blown up. Anyway, right now I'm. Yeah, right now I'm paying for what I. When I served our country. And I'm still proud of what I did. But right now I've been in the VA hospital in Orlando for over six weeks. And last night I almost died. I was on the brink of death. And on that break it prank of death walking off the cliff, I saw Satan. I was just wondering, satan, why didn't you take me then and let me live today? If Satan can help me out,
John Clay Wolf
I think he's being serious about his service. And we. We thank you for your service, sir. But he's rolling. He's rolling into shtick, which is fine, because that's. Our listeners are a bunch of smart asses. Yeah, go ahead, Satan.
Caller/Listener
It's a little bit.
John Clay Wolf
Tell, tell, tell Richard why you didn't take him.
Satan
Well, that's a. That's a very. Richard, you're asking for some very inside information. And there are a lot. You know, there's a lot of dichotomy that goes around. People talk about, you know, the norms, the moors that we think about when we think about existential things and like, you know, pearly gates, pure redemption, you know, service, love unto others, thy neighbor and all. There's also a clock. There's a clock.
Hayden
Oh, really?
Satan
Yeah. Yeah, the old man knows him.
Caller/Listener
So. Because of all. All the hours we turned back with, you know, the.
Satan
Yeah, I'm privy to the clock, too. It's just not your time yet, Richard.
John Clay Wolf
You know, There you go, Richard.
Caller/Listener
Why did you. Why. Why did you peek at me? You were laughing that. Oh, no. Why?
Satan
I had just won a bet on the Red Sox.
Caller/Listener
We're eight in a row.
Satan
And I was kind of happy about it, but I actually winked at you, too. But you missed that because you're such a cocky prick.
Caller/Listener
Well. Well, you also kind of. You. You filled me up, too. You were trying to. I thought. So who's doing the exam now? I thought it was a nurse I picked up.
John Clay Wolf
It was you, Greg, in San Diego.
Caller/Listener
Stick Lord. And hey, Chip, have you done any work with ZZ Top?
Chip Foose
Well, I know Billy Gibbons. You know, I met him through Boyds and Larry Erickson, who designed Catzilla and also all of their bikes, is a really good friend of mine. But I have a good story about Billy Gibbons, which was a lot of fun if you know the band Smash Mouth. I was headed up to the. The House of Blues. Smash Mouth was playing up there. And on the Way up. I got a call from a friend and Billy Gibbons was over there.
Hayden
And.
Chip Foose
And they asked me what I was doing. I said, I'm headed over the House of Blues. Watch Smash Mouth. And Steve Harwell, lead singer from Smash Mouth, had told me, meet him in the green room. So when we showed up, I brought Billy Gibbons in there with me and he just flipped out. He was a huge ZZ Top fan.
John Clay Wolf
Yeah.
Caller/Listener
And.
Chip Foose
And Steve Harwell just went nuts when Billy Gibbons walked.
John Clay Wolf
Did he do it? Did he stand on stage with him? Do anything?
Chip Foose
He didn't go on stage. We just stayed in the greenhouse.
John Clay Wolf
Right.
Chip Foose
Green room. But yeah, it was fun to make Steve Harwell's night with Billy Gibbons there.
John Clay Wolf
There you go, Smash Mouth. Hey man, you're a rock star.
Caller/Listener
Shrek.
John Clay Wolf
JD Is there anything that we need to hit before we boogie?
J.D. Ryan
I don't have a microphone. We've hit a lot of the stuff. We had one more Florida story if you want to hear it. This is kind of a cool video too. Video goes with this. A small plane and a student on board were forced to make an emergency landing on a Florida highway. This video is bizarre. It comes down over the top of a truck, underneath a road sign and then lands safely. Believe it or not. Cut number 10.
John Clay Wolf
We're completely prop.
Caller/Listener
Stopped moving. We're probably going down on i10. Roger. It's at your discretion. Safe as possible. We'll get the vehicles out for you.
John Clay Wolf
We are not making the airport. We're going down on i10. If I wouldn't have seen that shadow over my truck. As you see in the video, it was a close call from the truck and what I signed. But he landed. He was a good pilot, He's a good instructor. It was a miracle that he landed that thing with no problem.
J.D. Ryan
Low wing little piper. Goes right over the top of a truck and underneath one of those. One of those signs that goes all
John Clay Wolf
the way across the highway.
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
Show Announcer
Yes.
J.D. Ryan
Literally like with like 10ft maybe. Crazy.
John Clay Wolf
Hey, what's this bit that it says? Canadian woman. Shows no ID to cops but has a dozen different ones in the car. Did she get arrested?
Caller/Listener
Yeah.
J.D. Ryan
28 year old Canadian woman pulled over in Florida. Why of course she was. And she gave the officers a fake name. She said she didn't have a license on her. Gave the cop. Well, they found a bunch of licenses. None of them had her name on it. Cut number five.
Caller/Listener
Are you go right your owner of the car? Car?
John Clay Wolf
No, this is a car.
Caller/Listener
I didn't even rent it. My Boyfriend rented. Where's your license?
John Clay Wolf
Out of New York.
Chip Foose
New York.
Hayden
What's your name?
John Clay Wolf
Brianna.
Caller/Listener
I. I live in New York.
John Clay Wolf
I'm here in Florida, literally just visiting friends and stuff. Right now I'm at an airport.
Caller/Listener
Okay, so you don't have a New
J.D. Ryan
York, like identifi ID at all?
Caller/Listener
Your story's not making a lot of sense to me.
John Clay Wolf
Right, you live in New York, but
J.D. Ryan
you don't have any ID in New York?
John Clay Wolf
I've never had a driver's license or anything.
Caller/Listener
Do you have anything with your name
J.D. Ryan
on it in this car?
John Clay Wolf
What name is that?
Show Announcer
All these are.
J.D. Ryan
All these are.
John Clay Wolf

Main Theme / Purpose This episode of The John Clay Wolfe Show, broadcast live from Chip Foose’s shop in Huntington Beach, CA, delivers its signature high-energy blend of live car appraisals, outrageous listener calls, offbeat news commentary, celebrity automotive insight, and irreverent banter. Alongside John and his crew, hot rod design legend Chip Foose joins as co-host, sharing car-building wisdom, industry stories, and laughs. The episode features classic JCW lightning rounds (live car buying on-air), deep dives into the collector auto market, comedy sketches, and a lively Truth segment, all with the show’s hallmark mix of wit, bold honesty, and playful raucousness.
The episode is raucous, sarcastic, defiantly unfiltered, and loaded with rapid-fire exchanges, jokes, and listener engagement. The rapport between John, his crew, and Chip Foose grounds the technical and market talk in personality-driven, sometimes outrageous, comedy. The show's recurring regulars (Speech Impediment Terrence, Blind Dorian, etc.) add to the community vibe, while the lightning rounds—fast live appraisals and haggling—are the kinetic core.
Don’t be surprised by the rapid tone shifts—from precise car value debates to utterly off-the-wall comedy, inside jokes, and wild personal stories. The hosts are unafraid to roast themselves, each other, or callers, and the result is both informative (especially for car lovers) and memorably chaotic.
