John Clay Wolf
The John Clay Wolf show has appeared on terrestrial radio for a really, really, really long time. So we dug into our pockets and on the other side of our we found something funny. And yes, it's contagious. Gather round as the wolf pack goes on this throwback adventure.
DJ Pre K
What's the deal? It's your boy DJ Pre K with the John Clay Wolf Show. Back with another archive clip from our wild crew and crowd. And I'm sure these party animals know a little bit about fine powders. I know Keith Richards does. But John says he's under strict orders to keep the dust on top of a recent Corvette purchase. Why could that be? Let's check it out.
Keith
And I want someone to look at the video of the old Corvette in the back that's covered in what looks like volcanic ash. And the person that wins the reason that I did not clean the car wins to sell that bitch T shirt. There is a reason there's a cut. There's a car in the corner behind me in the classic car shop behind me that we own. There's a car that's covered in dust. I mean, covered. And everybody's like, why don't you clean it? Why don't you clean it? Why don't you clean it? There's a reason I didn't clean it. And if you guess it, I'm gonna give you the T shirt.
Caller
Be right back.
Keith
You know, Keith, we have. I know you're into cars and we've got some not crazy cool classic cars. We've got some decent classic cars behind us in the. In the showroom there. It's not even. What do you call that? The shop. Yeah, I call it the shop. Okay. But there's a Corvette in there. It's a 97 and it's covered in dust. Just absolutely covered in dust.
John Clay Wolf
I'll notice this if you go to.
Keith
Jcwshow.Com and click the video link, our YouTube streaming channel, you'll see it. And I asked people earlier, oh, good morning, Colorado.
John Clay Wolf
You just came on and it's the only one. You know, all the cars are very nice looking and clean, right? Except for your Corvette.
Keith
And why is it covered in Dust.
John Clay Wolf
I thought it was possibly because you're lazy and haven't gotten around to it. Like, I get that overtone.
Keith
So I asked some people to call in and guess why. It's covered in dust.
John Clay Wolf
Very dirty.
Keith
Tim in Marilyn, what is your answer?
Caller
I think it's because you don't want to scratch the paint and ruin it.
Keith
Fair enough. That's not the right answer, but I like that answer. Dan in Pennsylvania, what's your guess?
Caller
How you doing, John? You found it in a barn and you wanted to leave it exactly how it was.
Keith
That's not.
Caller
I totally respect.
Keith
That's not exactly right, but you're very kind of close. You're a smart guy, Daniel. Don't let anybody tell you any different. Brian in Huntsville, Alabama, what's your guess? Why is the Corvette covered in dust?
Caller
It is from the museum. The Corvette museum.
Keith
That is an excellent answer. And what he's talking about is this Corvette museum that collapsed and had a sinkhole in it about six years ago. He's saying that car must have come out of it and you wanted to leave it in the state when it fell in that earthquake. That is not the case, but I like your thinking. These are really good answers. These are really good answers, huh? Mark in Georgetown.
Caller
Hey, yeah, that guy's not. He's not washing that car because you can damage the paint. And he's keeping it safe, just letting the dust stay on it. And I had a friend that did that with a show car, and it's better than putting a cover on it where you trap moisture. So he's doing it just to preserve the paint.
Keith
Well, that guy is me. So, I mean, I bought it and I didn't clean it. And I was asking everybody why I did not clean it. And you guys have real good answers. What you're saying is correct, too. Frank in Miami, Florida. Yeah, what's yours?
Caller
Yes, I'm sorry, you're on the air.
Keith
What's your guess?
Caller
Well, my guess is that it was bought from a guy in Texas that had a huge garage, maybe the size of like, almost a hangar for airplanes. Probably about maybe, I don't know, two, 300 cars in there. The majority were Corvettes.
Keith
Okay.
Caller
And I thought that he was an older guy and he didn't want to repair the cars. I don't know what he did with them, but I don't know what you.
Keith
Do for a living. But there is a writer's strike going on, and you should go apply and be a sub, because you have very creative imagination and lots of Detail. I like it. This is fun.
John Clay Wolf
And outside the window there were squirrels. And the squirrels were married. And the squirrels would come out for breakfast and climb into the.
Keith
Here's the reason I didn't wash the car. It's weird, but I agreed to this, so I have to stick to it. But we didn't put a timeline on it. This is weird, dude. This is the weirdest car thing I've ever been into. This car has 100 miles on it. Delivery miles. This man took delivery of it in 1997. It still has like transport covers. So when cars come out of the factory, they put a plastic wrap around the steering wheel. They have a transporter tag on them. They've got plastic all over it to protect it from the transporter getting it dirty. So this guy buys this car and he does not want. He had it towed from the dealership to his home. I buy it from his wife. From the wife, yes. He died.
John Clay Wolf
He died.
Keith
This was his prized possession. Besides her. Sure. She gave us his ashes.

And told us the deal we made is when it landed here that we would pour. And I've got a video of it pouring his earn his ashes on this car. And I told her I would leave it on there. I didn't say how long. I can't leave it on there forever. No. So the dude's with us. Man, that's creepy. He's back there in the shop. Dude, the dead dude's sitting there on top of his Corvette, humping it.
Caller
I mean, people like their ashes spread all over. I mean, that's. That's an interesting spot. Usually it's like the ocean or something like that.
Keith
J.D. has to bury his stepmother and he was. I saw that, that he's looking for someone to rent a boat from to dump her in the ocean. And I suggested a potato gun, which.
John Clay Wolf
Is if you knew her, she would love that idea. Just shoot her out.
Keith
Has anyone ever shot a potato gun? I have about a 4 inch PVC pipe, 8ft long in the bottom. It has a container in it. And you get an igniter button that sparks, and you put a potato in the end of it, stuff it down there, and then fill the other end up with hairspray. And then put the cap on it, push the igniter, and it creates an explosion, and it blows the potato 100 yards. So I was saying you could stuff her in a thing, a bag, and push her down the potato gun and fire off in the ocean, and then think about the savings from not having to get a boat.
John Clay Wolf
So this would so work.
Keith
Yeah, it's fun.
John Clay Wolf
You gotta have VO5, by the way. VO5 is the only one that lights correctly.
Caller
You do just to this from experience when you do spread somebody's ashes. I did this for my mom in. In Maui.
Keith
Right.
Caller
Make sure you do it downwind.
John Clay Wolf
Downwind.
Caller
I. I made the mistake of. And, yeah, it blew in my face.
Keith
Always drink up straight from the herd.
Caller
That was. You don't think about it. It's like, oh, it's gonna be, you know, really cool scene.
John Clay Wolf
Captain will figure that out.
Keith
Did anybody video that?
Caller
No, there was not video.
Keith
Wait a minute. So. So y' all threw the ashes out, and the wind picked it up, and you're all covered in it, so.
Caller
Yes. This is in Maui. This is. There's a. A mountaintop. Halikaya.
Keith
Say it one more time.
Caller
Wait. Halikaya. You're way up above the clouds. So I'm thinking, oh, this is great.
Keith
This is perfect.
Caller
Perfect. Yeah. Starts dumping it, and it's a plastic bag. So it's. You're just dumping these ashes. And the wind picks up, and I'm like, oh, no. And it picks up.
Keith
Oh, no. There goes mama. Mama.
Caller
Mama flies in my face. And then there's people around, too, and I'm like, oh, God, I hope it doesn't hit them. So it didn't.
Keith
Luckily. Did she have a sense of humor? Yeah.
Caller
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Keith
So she's been laughing.
Caller
She was. Yes. Yeah, she was laughing when that was happening.
John Clay Wolf
The Lebowski thing.
Keith
That's.
John Clay Wolf
That's what happened in the Big Lebowski.
Keith
Yes.
Caller
Yes. Yeah. Well, he.
John Clay Wolf
Donnie's everywhere.
Caller
Yeah, it's. It's very similar to that.
