JD
Has appeared on terrestrial radio for a really, really, really long time. So we dug into our pockets and on the other side of our we found something funny. And yes, it's contagious. Gather round as the wolf pack goes on this throwback adventure.
DJ Pre K
What's going on? It's your boy DJ Pre K with the John Clay Wolf Show. I'm in the archives, but today we're going to the strip club. Ayy. John's reminiscing and Bobbo's reminiscing and JD's reminiscing and sounding like we need to plan a trip. Now look, I've been kicked out of a few fine establishments myself, so I know how it go. But that's a story for another time. Let's call it a Wolfman to the stage. Check it out.
Bobbo
My dad told me that would happen to me with cars. I was a real car nut. No. You know, and then when I got into the wholesale car business.
John Clay Wolf
You know.
Bobbo
I'd get all excited about buying this car and that car and, and And I remember we were behind my lot one day, and I was about 22, 23, and I had, like 10 cars that I'd bought. And I was very nervous about this 26, seven years ago. Very nervous about having these 10 cars that I needed to go sell at the auction. And I was going to, but I was so nervous about what they were going to bring. And he's like, boy, there'll be a day when you'll have a hell of a lot more than this, and you're not going to be so nervous about it.
Gigi
Right.
Bobbo
This week we sold 1110 at the auction.
Gigi
This week? This week, not this year.
Bobbo
Yeah, we'll do over 5,000 this month. Give me the vin.com. but he also said. He said with the car thing, he said. He. What do you prefer? He said, you'll end up kind of like the strip club owner that turned into a homo. What? He told me that I was going to end up like the strip club owner that turned into a homo.
Gigi
I get it.
Bobbo
Y'all don't get it. No, I get it. But I've never heard one with the cars. Like, you know, you have so much women that you're not even.
Gigi
You don't care anymore.
Bobbo
You're not stimulated by it. So you turn into a homosexual. But I still like cars. I have not turned into a car. And binary. Non binary. Yet.
Gigi
I wasn't gonna go with you turn into a homosexual. I was gonna say, you turn into a strip club dj, where you see it all the time. You just don't care.
Bobbo
Bob, when you were a strip club dj, did you get immune to naked women?
JD
No. No. And it was really. It was quite a drawback.
Bobbo
What was the drawback?
JD
It was quite a drawback. I was a single guy at the time.
Bobbo
Yeah.
JD
Now, I had a child on the way. Okay. Not personally. I mean, I had a child on the way, and I went to earn a little extra money working nights. You're gonna go dance as a DJ at the strip bar?
Bobbo
Go through nursing school.
Gigi
Had a ball.
JD
Had a ball. We had. I mean, and in a smaller, smaller market strip bar, you got all the quintessential stereotypical characters. Mom, the head waitress was the little older gal that used to be a stripper. And she's bringing me whiskey hand over fist, man. Twice now.
Bobbo
So give the guys listening the real insight. How do you score with the strippers? Tell them the secret.
JD
First of all, be friendly.
Bobbo
You weren't there. You're one of them. You're on the inside.
JD
Right. First of all be friendly, be open, be ye not judgmental, and announce them correctly.
Bobbo
Okay?
JD
I can't tell you how important this is. You can't just, you can't just do that. You can't tell me how many of them came up and I'd be like, gentlemen, this is Josie. You know, and after the dance and she's coming at. She can't, she can barely walk over, she's carrying so much money. She said, that was. She said, how did you do that?

No, what I'm asking. You're talking about how the DJs can hook up with the strippers. I'm asking you how the customers can hook up with the strippers. Tell our most of our listeners are not DJs. They're customers, right?
JD
Right. No, they can't. They can't and you never will. I thought you knew this.
Gigi
Totally. Right?
JD
Yeah. No, you can't and you never will. They're not there for that.
Bobbo
Okay, so.
JD
And usually their boyfriend is their watch.
Bobbo
In the parking lot. J.D. you, Dan, you dated one for how long?
Gigi
I did. For about a year and a half. Yeah.
Bobbo
That's a long time.
Gigi
Oh, it's a long.
Bobbo
Was it one on one relationship or was it just dating?
Gigi
No, no, we were. Well, she wasn't doing that. She wasn't dancing when we started. And then she sort of slowly got into it and then got out of it. Then got into it.
Bobbo
Hang on, hang on, hang on. So you're dating this girl?
Gigi
Yeah.
Bobbo
And you didn't meet her at the strip club?
Gigi
No.
Bobbo
Okay. And she says, hey, I'm gonna take this new job.
Gigi
Yeah.
Bobbo
Or did you just find out about it after she started?
Gigi
No, actually. God, it's so embarrassing.
Bobbo
I want to hear every bit of it.
Gigi
I helped her get the job.
JD
Really?
Gigi
Well, because we weren't part of the radio station and the TV station and the whole thing.
Bobbo
Had she danced before?
Gigi
She had not danced that way, no.
Bobbo
So you got her this job?
Gigi
She talked about doing it, and I said, well, we know people at one of the nicer men's clubs in town because the guy I was working with on the radio at the time, he had a girlfriend who worked at the really nice club. The Real Nice Rhino. Yeah, something like that. And so I said, let me get you with the manager so you don't have to. If you're gonna do this, let's start at the top.
Bobbo
Okay.
Gigi
And that's when we got our job there. And I regretted it immediately.
Bobbo
I mean, was she good at it?
Gigi
I never. You know what? I never went and watched inside. But the first night she came, first night she came home, she said, one guy's gonna buy me a horse, and another guy was Rod Stewart. Rod Stewart's brother. I go, neither one of those things are true. Oh, yes, they are. You weren't there. You don't know.
Bobbo
So your girlfriend that you promoted to stripper went to do her first night at stripping and came home with her stories that a man was a customer, was going to buy her a horse, and the other man was Rod Stewart's brother.
Gigi
Brother.
Bobbo
All right.
Gigi
You don't know. You weren't in there. That's who it was.
Bobbo
So how long did this go on then?
Gigi
Then it got. Of course, the relationship got rocky and we lasted about another four or five months.
Bobbo
We all swinging?
Gigi
No, no, she wasn't a swing.
JD
She's a dancer.
Bobbo
Just.
Gigi
Dang.
Bobbo
Is that even worse?
JD
I don't know.
Bobbo
I mean, in my Experience.
Gigi
The girls don't.
Bobbo
What, you helped her get the job.
DJ Pre K
That makes you big pimping.
Gigi
I didn't make any money from it. I didn't make any money from it.
Bobbo
He was getting some scrape.
Gigi
I didn't get any scrape. No, I just thought. Honestly, I thought she get in there and see she didn't like it and get.
Bobbo
Oh, you were trying to teach her a lesson.
Gigi
Trying to. Didn't work out. Kind of backfired on me.
Bobbo
Like, on a scale of 1 to 10 of hot and pretty, where would you hit her?
Gigi
She was about an eight.
Bobbo
Really?
JD
Yeah.
Bobbo
And you, you. You've got high mark.
Gigi
Yeah. Yeah.
Bobbo
Wow.
Gigi
In fact, you. You know this person? I do, yeah.
Bobbo
It's not Erica that works here. No, that was Fantasy Ranch.
JD
An eight. My kingdom for an eight.
Gigi
Oh, yeah. Just hit him. Just hit John.
Bobbo
She did it.
Gigi
She hit the strip there.
Bobbo
And that's how that relationship ended.
Gigi
That's how it ended.
Bobbo
And we did buy our dad's Corvette finally last year.
Gigi
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Stop.
Bobbo
That's it. He said stop. J.D. there's a lot of Corvettes. I know, J.D. there's a Lot of Corvettes and a lot of dads out there in the world.
JD
All right, 15 yard penalty, first down.
Bobbo
Right. I mean, I was not offside, man. I just made him nervous.
Gigi
The back of my brain, I went, don't go down this road with John Clay Wolf. Don't do it.
JD
I say it with love, JD I love it when you street.
Bobbo
Nothing like buying a Corvette from a former stripper. Wow. Gigi, do you have any. Any assault you need to put on JD before we cut this topic loose? Because I think there's more here.
DJ Pre K
I don't think so. I just makes me see him in.
Bobbo
A whole different light. Oh, no, no, no. J.D. was a swinger. J.D. was a nudist. J.D. had a stripper girlfriend. J.D. was a big deal on Dallas radio for a long time. And I seen that sincerely, like, there's a lot of guys that tell you, well, it was a big deal. JD Was actually a big deal.
JD
Still a big deal.
Bobbo
Yeah, he's a big deal now. I don't know what you mean was, but he was. He had. He had a weekly television show.
Gigi
Yeah.
Bobbo
On, you know, remember back, back in the day when they had the, like this show after 10:00 on Saturday nights? All the cities had him, but JD had his own. And then he was on the big radio stations with the big show and he would go and announce all the concerts and got all the girls. And he was a nudist, and he was a swinger with his relationships. I mean, this guy just could not get enough sex or. I mean, like, were you an addict?
Gigi
I don't believe so. Never became a problem. Normally, addiction means there's a problem.
Bobbo
He didn't have a problem with how much sex he was having.
Gigi
None.
Bobbo
So it was okay. It wasn't good enough to have all the cat. You had to make sure that they were naked in front of you at all times and other people and had their friends with you.
Gigi
Is it time to take a break yet?
Bobbo
Jesus.
Gigi
Wow.
Bobbo
Corvette.
