In this most powerful episode, after years of seeking the Lord through prayer and worship, Kari shares her beautiful life journey with us. She shares how she got delivered from the addictive cycles of bulimia and bipolarism and how the tangible presence of God transformed her life.

Have you gotten the revelation that God has already accepted you and deeply loves you?

Kari Rivadeneira was raised in Des Moines, Iowa. She has two older brothers and one younger sister.

Kari grew up in a denominational church. Her theology growing up was that God was distant and mad at her. Kari hated herself and oftentimes felt isolated. She struggled with eating disorders and bipolarism for almost 15 years.

While in high school, Kari played basketball. She was highly performance driven and always felt that she was not good enough. Her aspiration in life was to become a professional basketball player.

During Kari’s college years, she tried to commit suicide. She had a short stay in a mental facility. Kari was also sexually molested by one of her coaches.

Kari later discovered she had two herniated discs and one bulging disc. Depression sank in and her doctor warned her that if she continued in the sport, she would never walk again. At the time, Kari’s identity was all about being good at what you did. But after the back issues, her dreams were shattered.

Upon graduation, Kari was hired as a professional fitness trainer. It was there at Fitness World West that she met her husband, Ramiro. She and her husband moved to Texas. They have two beautiful girls, Abigale and Makayla. They are active members at the Dwelling Place Church.

Kari was attending an In-Home Bible Study when she got saved. She knew that the Holy Spirit was real in her life.

Kari is the author of the book, What I Wish I Would Have Known About Prayer. She is the founder of Light & Truth prayer ministry. She is also the co-owner of Aletheia Training and Development, an organization committed to unveiling truth and empowering individuals to achieve true freedom in their lives.
