For a lot of law firm owners, referral marketing and digital marketing are like two separate buckets. And not only do they have nothing to do with each other, lots of times it's presented as they actually compete with each other. Okay? The reality is smart digital marketing will help you get more referrals. Yes, digital marketing can do lots of other things too, like lead generation and follow up and things like that. But digital marketing can and should support your referral marketing. Here's a few ways you do that. Number one is with retargeting. So you should have a list of past clients, referral sources, colleagues, people who are in position to refer to you. They like you, they trust you. But here's the thing, if you don't find a way to stay in touch with them over time, you lose your share of like their mental real estate, right? They meet other attorneys, they meet other professionals. You're not staying top of mind with them. You can use retargeting campaigns to keep your content pushing in front of them. On Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, campaigns like this cost a couple hundred dollars a month. And it's really, really valuable because here's the reality. You might have time to take five referral sources out to lunch if you're like really serious about that each month, right? But you probably have, you know, dozens, if not hundreds of potential referral sources. And you can't possibly take all of them out to lunch or even make a personal phone call to them he each and every month. But that type of contact is what's necessary in order to keep that top of mind awareness strong. And so the way you bridge that gap is by using retargeting content, right? Take that email list, you load it into the meta ad manager, you load it into LinkedIn Ad Manager, you run a retargeting campaign. Couple hundred dollars a month just keeps your content in front of those people. Primes the pump for referrals. Really great example. There's more I could, I could get into, but we'll save that for another video. So a really great example of how you use smart digital marketing to drive more referrals.
