I remember the year that Sudeika, Sandberg and haters started on the show and they just had these big old mops. I mean, just three mops of hair on their head. And I remember one time in pitch I said I was gonna write a sketch called Shaggy MDs where they were just doctors that nobody trusted because who would trust a doctor with a haircut like that? This is all just a segue into telling you that support comes from hims. The amount of conflicting advice out there about hair loss is exhausting. Shampoos, supplements, office visits. Andy Samberg
It's the Lonely island and Sam Myers podcast.
Seth Meyers
Andy, this is exciting news. When I hear something's wrong with you, buddy, I'm always worried it's gonna be, you know, a viral infection, but I'm so excited this is something you did to yourself.
Akiva Schaffer
Yeah, it's something fun.
Andy Samberg
Well, it could lead to a viral infection.
Seth Meyers
It could. It could. And knowing you, it will. But if you don't mind telling us, how did you find yourself so hungover this morning?
Andy Samberg
Well, it was date night.
Seth Meyers
Oh, this keeps getting better. You Weren't even out with the bros. This is just true love.
Andy Samberg
First time in a. I mean, every
Seth Meyers
part of this is better. So you and Joanna just went on date night and got after it?
Andy Samberg
Yeah, we met up with people after and then things spiraled from there. Seth.
Seth Meyers
Gotcha. When it's just the two of you before you meet up with other people, what is the cocktail of choice? What are you guys drinking?
Andy Samberg
Well, it was a sushi dinner, so it was beer and sake.
Seth Meyers
Great.
Andy Samberg
Yeah.
Seth Meyers
I mean, you love a sushi dinner, famously. Now, if you and Joanna decide to have a date night, what is the percentage chance it's going to be sushi dinner?
Narrator/Ad Voice
Hi.
Andy Samberg
I think Decent.
Seth Meyers
Yeah, I feel like you both love it.
Andy Samberg
It depends what city we're in, right? Not to sound like, you know.
Seth Meyers
Yeah, like super cool jet setters, but like Indianapolis Sushi.
Andy Samberg
Sushi. For sure.
Akiva Schaffer
Yeah. It's better to go away from the
Seth Meyers
coasts for sushi because that's where. That's where the good fish is. Because it thinks it's safe.
Jorma Taccone
It's gotta travel. Smart fish.
Andy Samberg
Like, if we're at. We're. If we're at the stadium where the Colts play Sushi.
Seth Meyers
Lucas Oil, I'm gonna. Without googling, I'm gonna say it's Lucas Oil.
Andy Samberg
Lucas Oil Stadium. I apologize to all of our indie listeners that I didn't know the name of it. I am a sports nut, obviously, compared
Seth Meyers
to Kevin Yoram and Lucas Oil, obviously. For a little bit of scratch, we'd love. We'd love to read a live ad.
Andy Samberg
Also, we've been in that stadium for the super bowl, as mentioned, for the YouTube.
Jorma Taccone
For the Doritos.
Akiva Schaffer
So the Doritos thing, we successfully made a Doritos commercial, and then they rewarded
Andy Samberg
us with a game and saw one of the craziest super bowl endings of all.
Seth Meyers
Which super bowl ending was that one?
Andy Samberg
It was the Giants Patriots one.
Seth Meyers
Right.
Andy Samberg
The helmet catch.
Seth Meyers
Yeah.
Andy Samberg
Hey, guys, it's Andy. It wasn't the helmet catch. That was the other one. It was the sideline toe tap, Manningham catch that was also very impressive. But not the helmet catch. Giants won both those Super Bowls, which is funny. Anyway, don't come for me. I was hungover.
Akiva Schaffer
I won $100 off of our agent Jay on that one. And he was so depressed, he didn't want to pay me for, like, six months.
Andy Samberg
How much you get off him?
Akiva Schaffer
100 bucks.
Andy Samberg
Dagwood. A Honda?
Rob Klein
Yeah.
Akiva Schaffer
All he gets is 10%.
Andy Samberg
He give it to you in ones.
Seth Meyers
The one time I went to Lucas Oil, Stadium. Northwestern, not a football powerhouse, weirdly backed into the Big Ten championship game against Ohio State and I think 2019. And me and all my bros went. And I would say 5% of the stadium was Northwestern fans.
Jorma Taccone
Yeah.
Andy Samberg
And maybe 5% of the scoring was done by Northwestern.
Seth Meyers
Actually, it was close at halftime and then they blew us out. But like, it was also the most. It was the saddest thing. Cause like, no, Ohio State fans were mean to you. They were just like, hey, good job.
Akiva Schaffer
That's way worse.
Guest/Additional Voice
You know what?
Akiva Schaffer
That's way worse.
Seth Meyers
That was football out there. Good job.
Akiva Schaffer
When we, we toured for Popstar and we went to Ohio State and my friend Jake is a big Michigan fan. Like, massive. When we got up and we were talking to like, you know, 400 kids from Ohio State, I was like, hey, my buddy Jake is a big Michigan fan. And everyone's like, boo, fuck him. Like, like. And I was like, on the count of three, can everyone say, up yours, Jake? And I got a really good video of 400 people saying that.
Andy Samberg
It's crazy that I must have been there and have no memory of even ever going to Ohio State.
Seth Meyers
Oh, yeah, we really, we.
Jorma Taccone
We got jerseys and everything.
Andy Samberg
This sounds familiar.
Jorma Taccone
It was not a whirlwind.
Akiva Schaffer
You're hungover the press tour. Yeah, we didn't know where we were.
Andy Samberg
We're not going to say anyone's B scores, but I do want to start off with some gaming st because Meekiev and Yorm have been sharing our Mini scores. Because it's funny.
Seth Meyers
Yeah.
Jorma Taccone
But I hadn't done the Mini in years. Just.
Akiva Schaffer
I've done way better by the way, everyone.
Andy Samberg
Yeah, so. But something that's funny if you do the Mini, you know, Saturday is harder.
Seth Meyers
Oh, I didn't know that.
Andy Samberg
But I feel like I had a Yorm score today because my brain is so foggy from all of the alcohol I consumed.
Akiva Schaffer
So I'm. You hungover.
Andy Samberg
So Keith sent us his score. Yours was the Saturday one, right, Keev? The like.
Jorma Taccone
Yeah, it was bad. It was really bad.
Andy Samberg
502 for me this morning.
Seth Meyers
Oh, 502 for the Mini.
Akiva Schaffer
Yeah, but it's a big Mini.
Jorma Taccone
That's weird. Usually your scores are like 25, 35 seconds.
Andy Samberg
The word like the clues and the squares were swimming around in front of my eyes.
Jorma Taccone
Well, I don't feel as bad about mine. I beat you.
Rob Klein
Yeah.
Akiva Schaffer
Here's the thing. I still don't understand the format of it. Like when it's a quote, I don't know what to do. Like, I don't understand Skip when you
Jorma Taccone
don't know, and immediately.
Andy Samberg
Yeah, that's one thing. But also, you know, there's certain things where, like, if you've done a thousand Minis, you know what it's going to be before you even get three words through the clue.
Akiva Schaffer
Really? Yeah.
Andy Samberg
We're just like a cookie that. And you're like, it's Oreo. It's just Oreo.
Seth Meyers
Yeah.
Andy Samberg
Does it matter what backwards way they try to phrase it? We need the O.
Seth Meyers
We need the R. We need the E and the O. Gotcha.
Akiva Schaffer
Okay, I need to hang out with you for a little while.
Andy Samberg
All right. Someone please, please take the wheel.
Seth Meyers
I fell off a scooter in Indianapolis. I've told this story before, but, like, one of those rental scooters, and, you know, looking back, I think I was maybe in a little bit of the shape that Andy was in last night. I shouldn't have been on a scooter, and I fell off a scooter. And I just remember I was wearing. Because it was. You know, it was the end of the football season. It was like, December in Indianapolis.
Akiva Schaffer
Cold.
Seth Meyers
And it was a really nice, like, New York City dude coat. And I was with all my Midwestern friends, and I fell and just ripped a little bit, and there was just this little white tuft of, like, fluff coming out of my nice coat. And it made my friends laugh so hard because when I got up and they saw I was okay, just. It was the perfect amount of, like,
Akiva Schaffer
ruined coat to give context for this. When we first moved to New York, we realized that buying a coat was like buying a car. You're not gonna have a car, so this is, like, the biggest purchase you're gonna make. So it's very. That's very sad.
Jorma Taccone
So.
Seth Meyers
And they're not, by the way. No one's impressed with your coat outside of New York. No one's like, you've done it like,
Akiva Schaffer
it's a fucking coat.
Seth Meyers
We never thought you had it. You guys, while you were doing the Mini. And God bless, by the way, I'm proud of all of you. I was home. I was in New Hampshire last night doing a standup charity event. Woke up. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Not my last brag of this story.
Andy Samberg
Okay.
Seth Meyers
Not my last brag of this story. Woke up at 4am Took a car to a ferry. Took a ferry to Martha's Vineyard. And I ran the Martha's Vineyard 5K road race on a scooter this morning. What do you think? This morning what do you think my mile pace was, Andy?
Andy Samberg
I don't even know what a. Like a funny guess is.
Akiva Schaffer
I'm gonna guess four miles an hour.
Seth Meyers
Four miles an hour. So 15 minute miles.
Jorma Taccone
Yeah, that's what I would guess too. Like a light jog.
Seth Meyers
Okay.
Jorma Taccone
Like the lightest jog I can think of.
Akiva Schaffer
I think it's not that. Now, based on half.
Seth Meyers
Half as fast. I did 7-30s.
Jorma Taccone
What? Why are you so good at running? You've always been a runner.
Seth Meyers
I'm very proud of myself. And by the way, for those listeners who also listen to family trips, I will be talking about this on that podcast and I might start a third podcast to talk about it there.
Andy Samberg
Well, if I had done that, I would as well.
Akiva Schaffer
What would the title of that podcast be?
Jorma Taccone
Seth that's Just Running.
Seth Meyers
Yeah. Yeah. Just running and gunning.
Jorma Taccone
Probably running and gunning with Seth by himself.
Seth Meyers
Anyway, my hip hurts so bad that I kind of want to cry.
Andy Samberg
Right.
Seth Meyers
Little comments. Moving over to the comments. Anne Hathaway is the yorm of the Odyssey because everybody is on a boat but her.
Guest/Additional Voice
Okay.
Jorma Taccone
Another boat's great.
Andy Samberg
More Odyssey. I'm on a boat. Related content.
Seth Meyers
Yeah, really? I really enjoyed that. I was like, oh, yeah, that totally tracks. Yhorm some notes on your voice note. Yhorm out of breath jogger vibes with his voice note.
Akiva Schaffer
Yeah, it was late.
Seth Meyers
Also killer from Silence of the Lambs vibes.
Akiva Schaffer
Well, here's the thing. It was 2:30 in the morning and then I couldn't sleep and I was like, let me listen to these sons of bitches. And then, you know, I had to respond.
Seth Meyers
I'm glad you did it the way you did it.
Akiva Schaffer
Thanks.
Seth Meyers
I would love. I know none of us could. I definitely thought for a second, I'm like, is there a way I could get Chris Nolan to leave a voice note saying that he always thought of Anne Hathaway as the yorm of the odds? Like, I definitely was like, he likes MacGruber. What if I was like, hey, hey, asshole. Since you wouldn't put your name on
Andy Samberg
MacGruber, would you say Matt Damon is the MacGruber of Interstellar? Maybe.
Seth Meyers
He's totally the MacGruber of Interstellar.
Rob Klein
Totally.
Jorma Taccone
He probably made the whole crew watch MacGruber before that scene. This is what we're channeling.
Seth Meyers
Yhorm. You sent us photos of Lin Manuel and the Dwagon. How did it come to pass? Tell us about it.
Akiva Schaffer
So there's a drive in that we've actually, I've done a screening of Hot Rod there. I've done a screening of Magruba there in Amenia, New York. And so I've done three screenings there. And we did one of over your Dead Body. And Lynn showed up from his rehearsals for the warriors and he showed me some shit, and I'm like, fucking thrilled. It's gonna be great. And, yeah, the two of us hung out and we sat in his car. We should have been in the Dragon. Instead we sat in his car and we couldn't figure out the defrost, so we just had to have the window wipers going the whole time. And Lin was like. Was like, oh, yeah. The sound's always like, the snake's a little off. It just is what it is sort of thing. And then afterwards we were like a second behind, and I was like, fuck, he's not going to enjoy this as much as possible. And then we had to bumping too. It was loud. And then afterwards I talked to people who were like, no, the snake was fine. We heard your car echoing the entire time because you had the. I was like, oh, shit. But yes, he loved the dwagon. Everybody did.
Seth Meyers
It was very fun. It was very fun to see pictures of you guys together. A lot of people in commenting about the creep. So this is the first question, and then other people answered the question and had something to say about it. Quaid, Army. I have a question on Keef's second verse. He said they knew I was a creep since the day I was born. Came popping out. My mama likes some. It's kettle corn.
Andy Samberg
Kettle corn? Yeah.
Akiva Schaffer
What did people think it was?
Seth Meyers
They wanted a clarification. So I wrote that down. A lot of people then, as I read the entirety of the comments, said that the way Keev says kettle corn has always been their favorite part of that song. Hell yeah. It's like genuinely, when they hear kettle corn, they hear it in Keev's voice
Andy Samberg
popping up like mama, like some catacomb.
Jorma Taccone
That's nice.
Seth Meyers
Someone also thought it was catacombs, which I'm like, oh, that's pretty fun too.
Jorma Taccone
Oh, yeah, I guess that makes sense. It's a little weird to refer to it that way, but sure, that's clever.
Seth Meyers
Another comment about the creep. First they said, when we first started dating, my husband, I sang this song all the time to the husband and drove him crazy. But I truly believe it's impossible to be sad or mad singing this song. And I think that's true. But also, based on what she said about her husband, I think it's possible to Be sad or mad hearing that song. Yeah. But I think the singing of it is a truly joyful experience. But you might, maybe if you're in the room with somebody singing the Creep, you might not fully agree to shout out Weird Al.
Akiva Schaffer
Another one that also you cannot be depressed or sad listening to is the song Albuquerque by Weird Al, about eight minutes long.
Seth Meyers
Okay, check it out. Check it out. What else? Sometimes people say if we want a tip on something, I don't know why we'd want a tip, but people have requested, we say, tip us in the Nippus.
Akiva Schaffer
Sure.
Jorma Taccone
Maybe if we want a tip, like a hot tip.
Seth Meyers
And if we're on the fence about whether or not we're right about something. Correct us in the pectus.
Andy Samberg
Correct us in the pectus.
Akiva Schaffer
These are hard to remember for me.
Seth Meyers
These are gonna be hard for you.
Narrator/Ad Voice
Yeah.
Seth Meyers
Yeah.
Jorma Taccone
Ooh.
Seth Meyers
I added some parlance to spelling bee, which I'm very happy with, which is clean gene.
Jorma Taccone
Yeah.
Andy Samberg
You've been hitting me with that this week.
Akiva Schaffer
Wait, what?
Seth Meyers
So clean Jean, because I'm never gonna queen bee. I'm never gonna get a clean bee. It's never even come close. A clean gene is when I get genius clean. And I've had a couple of clean jeans this week.
Jorma Taccone
Clean Jean.
Andy Samberg
Clean Jean Okerland.
Jorma Taccone
That's very respectable.
Seth Meyers
Clean Jean Okerland. You're Queen Bean. Oakland. Cause you're from the Bay.
Guest/Additional Voice
Yeah.
Andy Samberg
Did you know that? We're from the Bay.
Akiva Schaffer
All three of us.
Seth Meyers
Then someone again to Shakur. That guy. You know that.
Andy Samberg
Sorry, whom?
Seth Meyers
I fucked up.
Jorma Taccone
Mr. Shakur.
Seth Meyers
Mr. Shakur. I'm a fan of his.
Andy Samberg
Whom was his name? The first name of whom?
Seth Meyers
Tupac.
Andy Samberg
Yeah, you got it. Actually.
Seth Meyers
Okay. Double clutched again. Matt Goldich. Matt Goldich, a monologue writer for Late Night who listens to the pod, wrote in and revealed that there are certain words they've taken out of the monologue because I can't say them right.
Akiva Schaffer
Oh, like what?
Seth Meyers
They have a list.
Akiva Schaffer
Like what?
Seth Meyers
Tupac is one. And a Cinnabun.
Andy Samberg
Cinnabon. You just couldn't do it right now.
Seth Meyers
I just can't do it. I still don't know what you're supposed to say.
Andy Samberg
Is it Cinnabon or Cinnabon?
Seth Meyers
That's the problem.
Jorma Taccone
It's Bun. Right. Cinnabon.
Seth Meyers
But it's spelled T O, N. So I'm sorry. They.
Andy Samberg
That's why some people do say Cinnabon.
Seth Meyers
And maybe that's right, but they, like, I guess Baze. You know, your old friend Baze. And he's like, it's not worth it.
Akiva Schaffer
Wait, how many times has Cinnabon come up in your monologue?
Seth Meyers
He's like, make it Annie Ann's. I remember when Tapic was eating Cinnabon. Take it out. I'm not teaching him again. I'm not gonna do it.
Andy Samberg
I feel that sometimes the promos for snl, the host has to say SNL because they can't say Saturday Night Live fast for real.
Seth Meyers
I genuinely get a little nervous every time I have to say it in, like, an outro. If one of the current SNL cast members are on Saturday Night Live is not fun to say.
Andy Samberg
Yeah. And I'm hosting Saturday Night Live. Like, it does kind of clatter.
Seth Meyers
It's not good. Yeah. It's not going to. It's not going to work as a title.
Akiva Schaffer
But if you say it like Don Pardo, it helps. Right?
Andy Samberg
Saturday Night Live. You get all the syllables in there.
Seth Meyers
They got the slowest announcer they ever could find. Just because they were like, he'll make sure it's clear. Oh, and then someone wrote. And again, this is based on my pronunciation. I always love when Seth talks about anything hip hop because he just seems like a guy that thinks Mumford and Sons is totally too hard for him.
Andy Samberg
That seems.
Seth Meyers
And he gets spooked. He gets spooked and has to turn it off. And it was funny because I saw that in a burn. But I will say, when I hear Mumford and Sons, I do often think they're going to break their instruments.
Andy Samberg
Yeah, well, they're playing the fuck out of them.
Seth Meyers
They're playing the fuck out of them. And I'm just like, that's not. I'm sorry, that is not Bill for that. And then a bunch of people pointed out, what less did you expect from a turbo white? And I think that's. That's fine as well. Oh, another thing, Bjorn, because we talked about Nicki Minaj and Kanye on last week's pod. Some had said, pretty cowardly for Akiva to wait until Maga Yorm was off the pod to call out Nikki and Kanye.
Jorma Taccone
I knew you would have defended them.
Akiva Schaffer
Yeah. Oh, I would have. If I had been there, I would have fucking thrown down.
Seth Meyers
Thrown down. Rhys Ifans was in Little Nicky.
Andy Samberg
Rhys Ifans was also in Little Nicki.
Seth Meyers
Well, who did we say? Whoever we said we were in.
Jorma Taccone
I said the wrong person. I said Jonathan Reese. Yeah, but also, by the way, it's not Jonathan Reese Davies. It's Jonathan Reese Myers or Jonathan Reese Davies. So we were conflating the two names by giving John the Jonathan due to Rhys Myers and then. Yeah, so apologies. Support comes from article. Article is curated collections for every style. This is a furniture place, guys. I'm just gonna back up on this copy and let you know. It's a furniture place. Mid century modern, coastal and scandi inspired pieces that not only shine on their own, but also pair seamlessly with nearly every other article product. That was just off the top of my head. Now I'll get to the copy. These thoughtful design approaches make it incredibly easy to mix and match, helping you create a space that feels cohesive and stylish. Article takes great care in curating its collection focused solely on high quality, meaningful pieces that will stand the test of time. There's no filler. Every item is chosen for its craftsmanship, design and lasting value. Now, I've done an article ad before and I can actually talk from personal experience because I was lucky enough to get to choose something from their website. And it is a dresser that is in my bedroom and it is genuinely super high quality. It is all wood. It looks beautiful. It actually has a really nice modern design. I am not blowing smoke. This is a genuine endorsement for Article. Andy. Have you been in my bedroom and seen this thing?
Andy Samberg
I've been in your bedroom.
Jorma Taccone
Right. But when you're in there with me, we're not looking at the dresser.
Akiva Schaffer
Am I right?
Andy Samberg
That's what I'm trying to get at.
Jorma Taccone
My guy, You, Andy, are both cohesive and stylish.
Guest/Additional Voice
Thank you.
Jorma Taccone
Much like article.
Seth Meyers
Right back at you.
Jorma Taccone
All of these things apply to Andy and Article. You are consistently high quality, my friend. And article. I can immediately tell the difference in quality when I look at an article thing or when I look at you versus your competitor.
Andy Samberg
Thank you so much for saying that.
Jorma Taccone
Listen, they also did a white glove move in where I didn't have to do nothing. It was amazing. They just brought it in. I gave my old dresser away to somebody. They're happy. It's moving on. Andy Samberg
Oh, yeah, I think we've all been there, Keith.
Jorma Taccone
Honestly, we have one thumbs up emoji. Two hours later. What the fuck? You're. Meanwhile, the customer has already moved on, gotten married, started a new business, and retired. At some point you're just like, let's fucking Quo. That's actually in the ad copy. I didn't add that fuck. That's why I knew the first fuck was okay. Yeah, this is honestly something we need, Andy. This is about being on a group chat with people you're in business with, trying to organize something and get some responses. That's why today's episode is brought to you by Quo, spelled Q U O. Andy Samberg
Ditch the Quid Pro.
Jorma Taccone
Oh, get with the quo. Shit, they have to pay us double for that. That was really good.
Andy Samberg
It was a good new slogan for them. That's their new slogan, Quo.
Jorma Taccone
If you want to use that new slogan, you just got to cough up some money because we already copyrighted it. It's a Quogan set up in minutes on any device. Oh my God, do we ever use those? I'm always hitting this guy up on Zapier and he's like, but I just hit you on hubs spot. And we're like, no wonder we missed each other. Isn't that right, Andy?
Andy Samberg
Ditch the quid and the pro.
Jorma Taccone
Get with the quo.
Andy Samberg
Yeah, sorry. I started looking at an email.

Seth Meyers
We reached out Hamilton Whiteman, as we heard last time he called in, he told us that he was dying. We reached out and asked if there's anything we could do.
Jorma Taccone
He had licked us. Slug.
Seth Meyers
He'd like to slug and the chemicals in the slug have been transferred to him. And so we said, is there anything we need you, you know, as you sort of get your. Get your life in order. Here's what he sent in.
Guest/Additional Voice
Quades. If you're getting this, it's very likely that I'm already sealed up in my cryo coffin in the facility. There are a few loose ends that I need you to tighten for me. If you could please go down to my office at the wharf, look for three satchels. One is filled with coins. One will have a likely have a substance that's still drying. The third is just filled with dirt. I need you to separate all three of those bags. Make sure they're very far apart from each other. That's it. That's it. Well, that's it for now. If our paths cross again in the future, I hope that I have the pointiest stick. As they say, let it quiets. See you in the next life.
Andy Samberg
See you in the next life.
Akiva Schaffer
Oh me, oh my.
Seth Meyers
As they say, the pointer stairs.
Andy Samberg
God damn it. We really are four shock jocks creating the zoo crew of our dreams.
Seth Meyers
I mean, it's pretty good.
Akiva Schaffer
Feels hot.
Seth Meyers
Every time we have a new voice, I'm just like, who else can we get to join the zoo crew?
Andy Samberg
What other? We got Hamilton Whiteman. We got Michael Jackson.
Seth Meyers
Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson and Hamilton Whiteman are calling us. They went to Indy 500. They're there together. Let's hear from Michael Jackson and Hamilton Whiteman.
Andy Samberg
Like six episodes from now, we're gonna start, like, sexually harassing each other. Akiva, do you have any idea what I would do to you? Oh, my God.
Narrator/Ad Voice
Look at you.
Jorma Taccone
Oh, no.
Seth Meyers
They were like, yeah, no, they went full. It started ironically, but then they did turn into four shock jocks.
Andy Samberg
Yeah, they turned into old Stern before Before therapy, before he made a breakthrough.
Seth Meyers
What are you drinking there for your hangover cure, Andy? Is that coconut water?
Andy Samberg
Coffee and coconut water alternating.
Seth Meyers
Great.
Akiva Schaffer
Smart man.
Seth Meyers
Do you feel like you're coming out of it at all?
Andy Samberg
No, I'm feeling dizzy sitting down.
Seth Meyers
Yeah. Are you gonna be taxed today? It's a Saturday when we're recording.
Andy Samberg
Well, yeah, I'll be in it with the children.
Seth Meyers
Yeah.
Andy Samberg
And one thing I've always said about young children, a lot of sympathy.
Seth Meyers
A lot of sympathy.
Rob Klein
Yeah.
Andy Samberg
They like it when their parents are weak.
Seth Meyers
If not sympathy, empathy.
Andy Samberg
Yep.
Seth Meyers
It's not just that they feel bad for you. They feel your pain as well.
Andy Samberg
I was downstairs drinking my coffee just before this, and I finished my cup of coffee, and I was planning to refill it, and my daughter leaned over and just spit my cup and then looked up at me and smiled. I was like, why the fuck did you do that?
Akiva Schaffer
What the hell?
Andy Samberg
She was like, I don't know. It just started cackling.
Seth Meyers
That's an easy prank.
Andy Samberg
Looks like Dad's getting a new cup.
Akiva Schaffer
It's hard when you think it's funny. You know what I mean? When you're like, it was funny.
Seth Meyers
That's pretty good.
Andy Samberg
I know. She's like, how far can I take it if it's funny? I'm like, you just asked the question of my entire existence.
Jorma Taccone
Oh, my God. She really bullies you.
Andy Samberg
Yeah. Yeah. But I deserve it.
Akiva Schaffer
Yeah, it's fair.
Seth Meyers
Real quick, I just want to say, if you were like, what were the five best things that happened to you this week? I would say for the last, like, six months, one of those five things has been somebody saying, quite arming. To me, it just makes me so delighted. Especially because when you go back to the beginning here, this was the thing that Keev tried to start for a long time. Righteous kill is now officially a thing. This is the opposite of whatever Keeve's peeve is. This has got to be the opposite.
Jorma Taccone
Yeah. It's a lesson about just sticking with stuff, you know, Just don't let things go.
Seth Meyers
I don't want to add more to it, but I am wondering if, like, I'm going to start saying righteous kill with my hand in my stomach. Like, it's quaddo.
Akiva Schaffer
Oh, like, acting it out, like.
Seth Meyers
And just like. Like, just like, go, like a little claw. A little claw, little cloth. Righteous kill.
Jorma Taccone
Like, that's the salute.
Seth Meyers
Righteous kill.
Andy Samberg
Quaid, open your mouth. If you do that when people say it to you, Seth, I will give
Seth Meyers
you $100 if I say it like qua.
Akiva Schaffer
Yeah, Righteous kill.
Seth Meyers
Somebody said their favorite line in the Creep is the T. Rexen and asked who wrote it. And of course I know for a fact who wrote it. Andy's observation about T Rex arms is.
Andy Samberg
I'm guessing I did, but I will also say me and yhorm, I think often would talk about T Rex arms.
Seth Meyers
I mentioned Keeves Peeves and we have yhorm thorns. Somebody suggested Andy all caps when you're mad about things.
Akiva Schaffer
Andy all caps.
Seth Meyers
Yeah, Andy all caps.
Akiva Schaffer
Oh, instead of like Andy Kap.
Seth Meyers
Yeah, like Andy Kap. It was sent in by an 85 year old man.
Akiva Schaffer
Andy all capps.
Andy Samberg
Oh man, I love it. Every time a new Andy Kap drops.
Seth Meyers
Oh, Indiana's way. I can't believe they're making it work. You know what? Respect. They're making it work. I don't think they like each other, but goddammit, they're making it up.
Andy Samberg
Starting to think this guy's got a drinking problem.
Seth Meyers
You, my friend, we kind of rushed through. The Creep was the Jesse Eisenberg Show. You did a monologue with Mark Zuckerberg and Jesse Eisenberg and you.
Andy Samberg
That's right.
Seth Meyers
Do you have any memories of what is sort of historically a pretty trippy moment?
Jorma Taccone
Yeah.
Andy Samberg
I remember not knowing what to expect from Jesse because I had seen like squid and the whale and stuff. And he's so like, you love watching him, but he's like intentionally repellent in that character. And then he arrived and was so lovely and thoughtful and nice and funny and cool and I was like, yeah, I was like, oh, you're a really good actor.
Seth Meyers
Yeah, really good actor. Loves comedy. Yeah, is very funny too. Not just like an outside looking in. Loves comedy.
Andy Samberg
I don't remember how it came together that Zuckerberg actually came to the show though, on his way.
Seth Meyers
I remember it was because you had played Zuckerberg, but it was obviously more intense for Jesse.
Andy Samberg
Yes. His depiction was different than mine for sure. Yeah. But I knew when he was coming.
Seth Meyers
I was like, yours was more nuanced.
Andy Samberg
I don't even remember what I did.
Seth Meyers
Probably just put a wig on.
Andy Samberg
Yeah, I was just like, oh, hey, how's it going? Like vaguely Canadian for some reason.
Akiva Schaffer
Right.
Andy Samberg
But yeah, I knew that I was going to try and get it on the show because it was like, you know, if you do an impression of anything having to do with anything with the host, you just try and shoehorn it in immediately so you can be in the show. And so I'm sure that's where it started, but I don't know.
Akiva Schaffer
This is a good transition to my new organization called Kings in America. And it's supporting Kings in America.
Andy Samberg
Oh, cool.
Jorma Taccone
Oh.
Seth Meyers
So it's like no Kings, but it's the opposite.
Akiva Schaffer
It's like no Kings, but it's like, sort of different.
Andy Samberg
The opposite.
Seth Meyers
Oh, yeah.
Akiva Schaffer
Andy, had we. Had we gone to Facebook by that point and.
Andy Samberg
No, it was after.
Akiva Schaffer
Okay.
Andy Samberg
Because we met Zuckerberg that night and he was a big Lonely island fan.
Akiva Schaffer
Yeah.
Andy Samberg
And was like, I'm naming, like, the conference rooms at our campus after, like, Lonely island songs.
Jorma Taccone
It was just one. There was an I'm on a boat conference room.
Andy Samberg
Yeah.
Jorma Taccone
At the original Facebook.
Andy Samberg
I want to say, like, there was like a Game of Thrones themed named room and then like an I'm on a bow room. But yeah, we did then go out there and then I've told that story before where he realized I wasn't on Facebook and made me sign up for Facebook. And he was my only friend.
Akiva Schaffer
And it was really funny because he had difficulty doing it and had to get help.
Andy Samberg
Is that true?
Akiva Schaffer
Yeah. That was the funniest shit I've ever. He was having technical difficulties and he had to get a different laptop, and then somebody had to do it for.
Seth Meyers
I feel like one thing they should tell all those tech guys, like, you don't ever try to use the product. You don't know how hard it is. Like, you have, like, these big ideas. And we figured out how to do
Jorma Taccone
it for the reason why. I mean, anybody might go. But the reason why we went was we were doing pre promotion for one of our albums, and I don't remember which one it was where we were, like, going around to all the, like, itunes and Facebook and Twitter offices to, like, shake hands in the hope that they'd help us promote it.
Akiva Schaffer
They did and they did.
Jorma Taccone
That's why we were up in Silicon Valley, as they call it.
Andy Samberg
Press stuff I just don't retain, I think.
Akiva Schaffer
Yeah, we were just sucking that digital penis.
Andy Samberg
You know what I mean? Oh.
Seth Meyers
When you shook their hands, Andy, you would often say, I'm not going to remember this.
Akiva Schaffer
Right.
Andy Samberg
I have promo face blindness.
Seth Meyers
Yeah. Here's Jesse. I'm not going to say that.
Akiva Schaffer
No, no.
Seth Meyers
Even thinking of saying something like that is kind of. Was actually kind of giving me a panic attack right now. You know what I feel? I feel like I'm misrepresenting myself.
Andy Samberg
Yeah, well, misrepresenting people is something you have a lot of practice with.
Guest/Additional Voice
Whoa.
Jorma Taccone
Mark.
Seth Meyers
Mark Zuckerberg hey, how are you?
Andy Samberg
Oh, how am I?
Jorma Taccone
I'm bad.
Andy Samberg
Okay. You got nominated for an Academy Award for playing me, and what do I get? You know, what do I have to feel good about?
Seth Meyers
Wasn't Facebook just valued at, like, $50 billion?
Andy Samberg
Oh, that's right. Yeah.
Akiva Schaffer
You know what was interesting about the Social Network is that I remember your brother Micah Keev saying that, like, because he was sort of around during that time, that his critique of it wasn't even a critique and an acknowledgement that the major difference between Zuckerberg and the portrayal of Zuckerberg is that Zuckerberg smiles, and he really smiles, and Jesse barely smiles in the movie. It's very disarming when someone smiles. And Zuckerberg smiles a lot, actually.
Jorma Taccone
Yeah, he's smiling.
Seth Meyers
He's not smiling anymore. I feel like. I think he's maybe too jacked for the old smile muscle, I don't think. I think of the last 10 years of Zuck is being smiles.
Jorma Taccone
You are met the America 250 UFC event. Did you see him smiling a lot?
Akiva Schaffer
I mean, I was a little farther back just because, like, the tickets were, like, 100, $150,000 for me, so I, like. I did the more like 75 range, but he seemed like he was smiling because I had, like, these smaller binoculars kind of thing to see stuff.
Seth Meyers
Mm. I'm surprised you wouldn't get a better deal with your Trump coin. Were they not accepting it at that?
Akiva Schaffer
They were. They were. And you kind of had to buy in to get more, actually. So you had to go five. Yeah, five total. And I was.
Seth Meyers
You like to say you're always on the bottom of the pyramid scheme.
Akiva Schaffer
I like buying in. You know what I mean? But I don't do a lot of progress.
Seth Meyers
Last guy in. You're like a last guy in situation.
Andy Samberg
I will say it's fun to go to MMA with Yoram, because the whole time he's like, oh, I wish I was in there.
Jorma Taccone
Yeah.
Andy Samberg
Oh, should I go? Should I go?
Akiva Schaffer
Andy always has to hold me back.
Jorma Taccone
Oh, a lot of calling the plays. Oh, he's gonna put him in a. He's gonna put him in a figure 8.
Andy Samberg
I probably shouldn't because of the ladder thing.
Seth Meyers
Right. I would have put him in a headlock. You should let him go next time, Andy. And just watch as he tries to find the door to the octagon. Hold on. I'm coming. Hold on.
Akiva Schaffer
Not this side. Not this side.
Jorma Taccone
Oh, there's a code.
Seth Meyers
Who knows the code? Let's watch. This is the roommate.
Andy Samberg
Oh, my God.
Seth Meyers
I have a lot of love for the roommate. And we're gonna watch it. It's a minute long.
Andy Samberg
Okay, let's watch it.
Seth Meyers
But which character is it from? The.
Andy Samberg
I think this is an original.
Seth Meyers
Yeah, but it's Declan, right?
Jorma Taccone
Yeah.
Andy Samberg
What's Declan from?
Seth Meyers
Oh, was Declan not pre existing?
Andy Samberg
I don't think so.
Seth Meyers
You know what? I'm thinking of, like, Gerard, the guy who's always sick, and who's the worst dude ever.
Andy Samberg
Gerard is the worst dude ever.
Seth Meyers
And who's the guy who's always sick?
Andy Samberg
Gerald.
Jorma Taccone
They're so different, dude.
Seth Meyers
Shame on me for not keeping it straight, Seth.
Andy Samberg
They can be that similar. Cause neither of them ever got to even go to dress.
Akiva Schaffer
They're very different characters.
Seth Meyers
By the way, Gerard toured with the Kwai.
Andy Samberg
Gerard, the worst dude ever, toured with the Kwai.
Seth Meyers
The Kwai. I mean, I think it was an ad for a djinn, but did you see the. There was, like, a new Jamiroquai ad where they, like, redid the, whatever, virtual insanity video. Did you see it?
Andy Samberg
I'm not sure I did, but obviously that's a classic video.
Seth Meyers
I just liked watching that dude at that age. He's still a very good dancer, and he seems to be having a lot of fun.
Akiva Schaffer
We could do an entire episode on Gerard, the worst dude ever, and Gerald, the man who's always sick. Maybe not. These are two.
Andy Samberg
I think we've talked about it a lot. It's been pretty well covered.
Rob Klein
Yeah.
Jorma Taccone
Yeah.
Seth Meyers
That's your Silicon Valley yorm. You have no memory of it.
Akiva Schaffer
Hey, fucking Andy. You didn't remember there was a three shot. So we're the same.
Andy Samberg
We're the same.
Seth Meyers
But this is based on a movie, right?
Andy Samberg
Yes.
Seth Meyers
Okay.
Andy Samberg
This movie came out, like, this week. The Roommate.
Jorma Taccone
That makes it make more sense.
Andy Samberg
Yeah, it was very much a topical. Yeah, it was a very, very late in the week. Bieber wants to come and do a pre tape. And we were like, uh, we don't have anything ready.
Seth Meyers
Gotcha.
Andy Samberg
And so this was whipped up. I think it was me, Rob Klein, John Solomon, who have both sent in voice notes.
Seth Meyers
Okay, so it must be the roommate. Leighton, Meester, Minka, Kelly. And then it's kind of a shot for shot parody.
Andy Samberg
Yeah. And I believe the roommate is like a single white female in college, Right?
Seth Meyers
Yeah. And I'm just gonna say, before we watch it, I know it's gonna probably feel a little slight. I have so much memory of loving this a great deal.
Andy Samberg
Oh, really?
Seth Meyers
I really do. It's. You as Declan. It's not gonna make anybody's top 10 Andy characters, but I might throw a vote at it just so it shows up in the final tally.
Akiva Schaffer
I find what you like fascinating, Zach.
Seth Meyers
Well, let's just watch it, then I'll talk about it.
Andy Samberg
I feel like the fall is imminent, but.
Seth Meyers
Yeah, yeah, I know. I know. I've blown it by saying I have good memories of it, but,
Akiva Schaffer
Hey, you're in room 316.
Guest/Additional Voice
Thanks.
Seth Meyers
Welcome to college.
Andy Samberg
I'm Declan, your new roommate.
Akiva Schaffer
Hey.
Jorma Taccone
So I guess we're best friends now, huh?
Guest/Additional Voice
What?
Seth Meyers
I love you.
Akiva Schaffer
Good editing.
Seth Meyers
This isn't gonna be one of those things where our friendship starts off fine, but then you get really possessive and crazy?
Andy Samberg
Cause I'm not really up for that.
Akiva Schaffer
What?
Seth Meyers
No, I'm totally normal.
Andy Samberg
I found a stray puppy. What should we name him?
Seth Meyers
It's a dead rat.
Andy Samberg
You make me smile.
Guest/Additional Voice
No, honey.
Seth Meyers
How's your new roommate?
Akiva Schaffer
Um.
Seth Meyers
Definitely trying to kill me.
Andy Samberg
Are you on the phone? I got the same haircut as you.
Guest/Additional Voice
That's not my haircut.
Jorma Taccone
Bird.
Andy Samberg
The roommate.
Akiva Schaffer
I know.
Andy Samberg
I love that.
Seth Meyers
That was one of the best.
Akiva Schaffer
That was some of the fastest editing I've seen in a while. It was lovely.
Seth Meyers
It's perfect.
Andy Samberg
Forgotten a lot of that Sir Ben Kingsley, by the way.
Seth Meyers
I forgot a lot of it. There's five jokes. Each one's great. Each one works. It does not overstay its welcome. It's like sprinting to stay a little bit ahead of the audience the whole time.
Andy Samberg
Was Bieber the musical guest of the show or. It's what I said. Right. He dropped in.
Seth Meyers
Was he hosting?
Jorma Taccone
What's the next week? Do we have that one?
Andy Samberg
Dana Carvey.
Seth Meyers
Oh, it's Dana Carvey. Yeah.
Andy Samberg
But was Bieber the musical guest, though? That's what I'm trying to figure out.
Akiva Schaffer
Wait, Andy, can I ask a question?
Andy Samberg
Yes, please.
Akiva Schaffer
How'd you do the naked shot of you holding the knife? Like, was that cocksucker? What was that? That's what they call it.
Andy Samberg
Oh, God, I hate that term, but
Akiva Schaffer
thank you for saying technical. It's a technical term.
Andy Samberg
Yeah. I think it was, like, the most tiny dance belt.
Seth Meyers
It was Dana Carvey and Linkin Park.
Andy Samberg
Oh, Linkin Park.
Jorma Taccone
And then a few shows later, you do a beastly trailer.
Andy Samberg
Correct.
Jorma Taccone
From the Miley Cyrus episode with Miley. You look like Declan in the Beastly one. Is it the same character coming back?
Andy Samberg
It's a recurring character at that point. Yeah.
Jorma Taccone
Got it.
Seth Meyers
Yeah, I think there was a real, like. I can't remember who was like, should we just do it again? And it was real, it was real fun. You know ultimately, if you're listening to the podcast, this is one you gotta go and watch. Obviously this is very sight gag heavy and I like, I like your look a lot. Thank you so much.

Andy Samberg
I think this was the beginning of an era for me where Keev and Yorm obviously were a little more in and out for good reasons that I started cutting stuff I was making, like, psychotically tight.
Seth Meyers
Yeah.
Andy Samberg
And this, this is very much in that vein. But I will say, watching it back now, I'm like, I'm glad it's not a second longer.
Seth Meyers
Oh, totally. Also, Keev and yhorm, again, for the right reasons, are not as available. I loved your partnership with Klein, your partnership with Solomon. Same, you know, Jost Mulaney. There were a lot of people that. But Klein, you and Klein maybe were my favorite. The way you guys, your sensibility would just get way out of bounds in a way.
Andy Samberg
We doof each other around a lot. We amp up the doof.
Seth Meyers
Yeah.
Akiva Schaffer
There was one thing that I wanted to pitch retroactively, which is that I wouldn't have minded if you entered. Turned your whole head around. 180 to say, the roommate.
Andy Samberg
Oh, yeah. That would have Fit right in for sure.
Seth Meyers
The other thing is because again, Klein is the most measured we've talked about him. He's so even handed. He comes off as like very writerly and he seems like a guy who would try to reign you in and yet the opposite is true. He just, he wanted to go to doof town with you.
Andy Samberg
Yeah, we're bad influence on each other.
Seth Meyers
No, like don't stop for gas, don't stop for water. Just like full speed ahead.
Andy Samberg
So now that we've watched it and we're talking about Klein, he sent in a voice note, right?
Rob Klein
The roommate is so good. Here's the two things I remember or that I just think are worth noting. Number one in my memory. Seth, you did support this at the time. Just for the record, I believe we told you this. You said, I like that. You said it's okay to write that. I believe that that is what happened. I don't know what your memory of it is for this. And the second thing I just want to make sure you guys mention is if you go to YouTube, it says it's a minute and 33 seconds, but then if you scroll to the 1 minute and 1 second mark, they're already playing bumpers to watch other Andy Samberg sketches. To watch Justin Bieber sketches. I'm scrolling through it now. So this thing clocks in at a minute flat, which is maybe unheard of in the history of short videos. Obviously you guys have talked about how a video needs to be at least 90 seconds to support like a set change or something like that. So this could not have been used in any useful or helpful way to the show. Which I guess indicates that Lauren aired it just sheerly for love of the game. He just wanted to get it out there.
Andy Samberg
Wonderful.
Akiva Schaffer
Lovely, lovely.
Seth Meyers
I think Klein left that because he was worried that I was gonna be throwing shade at the roommate. And so I'm glad that I established before we played the voice, not that I fucking love it.
Andy Samberg
It makes me so happy that you love it.
Seth Meyers
I love it so much.
Akiva Schaffer
He pre backed it up.
Andy Samberg
So as you mentioned, Seth Solomon was also part of this. He directed it.
Seth Meyers
Yeah.
Andy Samberg
He also sent a voice note.
Seth Meyers
Great.
Andy Samberg
I want to preface the voice note by saying that in our text chain, me and John and Rob, he said it sounds like I say Justin Vever. And then Klein wrote, who's Justin Vever, John. So now let's listen to it and see if it does sound like that. Sometimes you do stuff and it's just perfect and it comes out perfect. And that's what the roommate is. And I don't think there's ever been a better fusion of actor and role than Andy as Declan. And as far as the shoot goes, all I remember was it was a very late night, and Justin Bieber was very game. And I think the work speaks for itself.
Seth Meyers
I mean, the best thing is to listen to the two co writers and realize that they in their bones, are gonna get out just in time. Even with the voice note, the real
Akiva Schaffer
drop the mic piece, the voice note
Andy Samberg
length should match the length of the short.
Seth Meyers
They would say don't do a longer voice note. It was like that movie, that TV show, the Offer, about the making of Godfather.
Andy Samberg
Oh, that's Akiva's favorite.
Jorma Taccone
Love it. Go on.
Seth Meyers
But it's 12 hours. I'm like, wait, the movie's only three hours?
Jorma Taccone
Well, it takes a lot longer to make a movie than it does to watch a movie.
Seth Meyers
Well, I mean. Okay.
Jorma Taccone
And I guarantee it took more than 13 hours in real life when they were making it.
Andy Samberg
See?
Jorma Taccone
So they actually did us a big favor. It wasn't in real time.
Seth Meyers
Did you like the offer, Keev?
Jorma Taccone
Oh, yeah. Love the offer.
Seth Meyers
Great.
Jorma Taccone
Matthew. Good as.
Seth Meyers
I love Matthew Goode.
Jorma Taccone
Robert Evans.
Seth Meyers
So good.
Jorma Taccone
Yeah.
Seth Meyers
Have you seen the trailer for the movie? I play Rocky?
Andy Samberg
Yes.
Jorma Taccone
Oh, yeah.
Seth Meyers
I mean, I just.
Andy Samberg
Right down Main Street.
Seth Meyers
Right down main Street.
Andy Samberg
Yeah. It looks like a fun time.
Seth Meyers
It really does look like it's good. Rocky. He's got a good Sly Stallone. It's funny to, like, have to actually do a Sylvester Stallone impression. That's not for comedy, by the way.
Andy Samberg
This is another one in our running series of auditions that would be incredible to see.
Seth Meyers
Oh, my God. Andy.
Rob Klein
Let's do it.
Seth Meyers
Hey, welcome. How you doing? Hey.
Andy Samberg
Andy Samberg reading for Sylvester Stallone.
Seth Meyers
Great. We're just. Hey, by the way, Quaid army.
Andy Samberg
Oh, righteous kill. Righteous kill.
Narrator/Ad Voice
Quaid.
Seth Meyers
Oh, my God, that's fantastic.
Akiva Schaffer
We heard Seth talking about that at the bottom.
Andy Samberg
Whenever I'm ready.
Seth Meyers
Yeah, whenever you're ready. Sylvester Stallone and I play Rocky.
Andy Samberg
Okay, here we go. You know, I'm gonna go. I'm just gonna take off. It's not gonna be me. My face isn't right. I can't do the voice. But it's so nice to see everyone. And I'll catch you on the next one.
Seth Meyers
Do you want to play Mickey? Do you want to try Mickey the box?
Andy Samberg
No, I can't do Mickey.
Jorma Taccone
I was out the door. It's so great that you travel across town, and for that.
Seth Meyers
Oh, my God, it's so funny. They had to find a guy who looked like Sylvester Stallone, but not a funny version. Because it had to be like an act. He has to act.
Jorma Taccone
Wait, but you bring it up? Cause that same actor played Al Pacino in the Office.
Rob Klein
Did he?
Andy Samberg
Yes.
Jorma Taccone
Yeah.
Seth Meyers
Did he really?
Jorma Taccone
Is that why you went back?
Andy Samberg
That's why you were bringing it up?
Seth Meyers
No, I just. Because I think the offer and I play Rocky are the same, which is a movie about the making of a movie or a TV show.
Jorma Taccone
I believe it's the same guy. Is that right, Andy?
Andy Samberg
I think it is.
Seth Meyers
He was like, I'm really good at impressions, but they're not funny.
Andy Samberg
And they're like, oh, you might be just right.
Seth Meyers
Just be what we're looking for.
Andy Samberg
You're just talking about acting, Seth.
Seth Meyers
I guess that is what I'm talking about. Hey, here's a. We talked about height. This is just a comment from a Quaid. If I had to guess, I would say Jorma is 5 7, but he says he's 5 9. Andy is 5' 9, but he says he's 5' 11. Seth is 5' 11, but he says he's 6' and Akiva is 6' 4, but he says he's 5: 9.
Andy Samberg
It's kind of scathing, like. Kind of a scathing comment.
Seth Meyers
It's kind of scathing.
Andy Samberg
Not sure why you have to scathe us so much.
Akiva Schaffer
I say I'm five' eight.
Seth Meyers
Someone gave me a timestamp and. Hold on. Can I. I bet I'm not gonna be able to share. My screen never fucking works.
Andy Samberg
Oh, while you're looking, Seth, Akiva, Can I ask you a question? Yeah. Do I make you horny, baby?
Akiva Schaffer
Here it comes, our next phase.
Jorma Taccone
I mean, I guess sometimes.
Andy Samberg
All right, good. Cause I was wondering actually in earnest, if I, in fact, made you horny, comma, baby.
Jorma Taccone
Yeah, that's what she said.
Andy Samberg
I answered, I'm glad to know now that I do.
Seth Meyers
Good grammar.
Andy Samberg
I do indeed make you horny, baby.
Jorma Taccone
Yes. Yes, you do, baby.
Seth Meyers
Keev, some people thought you looked like this guy in Scanners.
Andy Samberg
Oh, shit.
Rob Klein
High praise.
Akiva Schaffer
A lot of burns here.
Jorma Taccone
Jesus Christ, dude. Why not? Yeah, that's right.
Seth Meyers
Somebody sent in a 1981 scanners. If you go to it on YouTube at 117 34, it's like, Keeves, older cousin.
Jorma Taccone
We could certainly be brothers.
Seth Meyers
Yeah. Yeah, definitely. I enjoyed that. I enjoyed being given a time code and being like, where am I going to find scanners? You're like, oh, the whole thing's on YouTube. Great. And I'm like, but I bet it doesn't match up with the timecode. And then I'm like, nope, that's Keef.
Jorma Taccone
It's great when things work, you know?
Seth Meyers
It's great when things work. Thanks for time codes. Not enough. Shout out to time codes, everybody.
Jorma Taccone
You know, me and Yorm are really into this.
Andy Samberg
Oh, Yorm. While I remember. Do I make you horny, baby?
Guest/Additional Voice
Oh,
Akiva Schaffer
right now.
Andy Samberg
Do I make you horny, baby?
Akiva Schaffer
Right now? Are you asking right now or just in general?
Andy Samberg
I would take either.
Seth Meyers
Both.
Akiva Schaffer
Oh my God.
Seth Meyers
This back and forth is not making me horny.
Jorma Taccone
Yorm, right now, hold your hands up like you're at the shooting range.
Seth Meyers
Oh yeah, he does got real. He's got shooter glasses on.
Andy Samberg
Dude's NRA all day.
Jorma Taccone
He's got his ear protection. He's got his eye protection.
Andy Samberg
Seth, I have a question for you. Honestly, about this episode.
Seth Meyers
Great.
Andy Samberg
Do I make you horny, baby?
Akiva Schaffer
Answer it.
Seth Meyers
I did. Mike Myers was at this episode. There was a Wayne's World.
Andy Samberg
Was there really?
Seth Meyers
Because Dana Carvey. Dana Carvey came back and hosted.
Andy Samberg
Oh, of course. It was the cold open.
Seth Meyers
There was a church chat and there was a Wayne's World. And it was very fun. I was very happy to work on Wayne's World to work on church chats. That's like the era I came up with. It was super fun. Same Eric Gilliland, a dear friend of mine, rest in peace and beloved by a lot of people in our business. He came in cause he was friends with Mike Myers. It was really cool to work with him on Wayne's World. Also the best was Jon Lovitz. I remember came because Dana was hosting and Lovitz came during air. He walked underneath the bleachers where we were all sitting and he was like Jon Lovitz. Jon Lovitz. Jon Lovitz. And was shaking all our hands. And then he turned to Lauren, he goes, and you are great.
Jorma Taccone
I have a picture for a side by side with Yorm right now.
Andy Samberg
Oh, wow, that's a good look at.
Jorma Taccone
It's even got the silver.
Andy Samberg
Is that from Cobra?
Jorma Taccone
No, that's Beverly Hills Cop too.
Andy Samberg
Oh, Beverly's Cop too.
Jorma Taccone
But it's really, you know, if you hit that pose, you even have the black and silver on the headphones. You're really doing it.
Seth Meyers
Yeah, it's really.
Andy Samberg
That gun is so 80s and awesome.
Akiva Schaffer
Yeah.
Seth Meyers
Doesn't it make you wish you were famous in the 80s looking at that picture, Andy?
Akiva Schaffer
Better time. Yeah, that was when America was great.
Seth Meyers
It's like, it was fine. Look, being early, odds, famous, great. But my God, 80s, nothing like it.
Akiva Schaffer
Hey, wait, I want to share with you guys a little picture here.
Seth Meyers
Yeah, yeah.
Akiva Schaffer
It's very similar, right? It is, yeah. Similar vibes.
Seth Meyers
Well, gentlemen, this was just lovely. You know, it was a minute short. It left an impact on me. I'm really happy. Oh, wait, let's look at the numbers real quick because I think there's a real chance for a quump bump on this one. What do we got on views for the roommate?
Jorma Taccone
How do I stop marrying the roommate is at 405,000 views.
Seth Meyers
This is going to be.
Andy Samberg
We could probably double that.
Seth Meyers
Yeah.
Jorma Taccone
I do want to point out that it was not posted right after it was made, because it's 12 years ago. A lot of these are 12 years ago. Something happened over at the SNL YouTube 12 years ago, where they went and dug up a bunch of stuff and just started posting them.
Seth Meyers
Yeah.
Jorma Taccone
But they were not getting the actual views. They would have gotten. Like, the next morning of, like, Justin Bieber was on snl.
Seth Meyers
Justice for Declan, though. Justice for Declan. Jack Black, real quick.
Akiva Schaffer
Spelling bee.
Andy Samberg
Spelling bee. I equip you with two hints.
Seth Meyers
Now, I've admitted to you what my problem was. And did you? Yes.
Andy Samberg
My two hints. Each hint gave me two words because there were two words that were spelled slightly different, but were almost identical.
Seth Meyers
Yeah. Is it ilium? Mm. And what was the other one?
Andy Samberg
I want to say vellum. Yes. So, yeah, two spellings of ilium and two spellings of vellum. But they do mean different things.
Seth Meyers
Yes, but I was just angry. It just makes me so fucking angry. I was so close, and then. Yeah, all for naught. All for naught. But congrats. I know it drives you crazy. You needed hints.
Andy Samberg
I mean, I hit a hot streak this past week where I got, like, three or four days in a row clean, and that was pretty fun.
Seth Meyers
Love you guys.
Akiva Schaffer
Love you.
Seth Meyers
Too Sad.
Andy Samberg
Love you, dudes.
Jorma Taccone
Love you.
Andy Samberg
Later, Arnold. Later, Quaid.
Seth Meyers
Later, Sly.
Akiva Schaffer
Later.
Andy Samberg
I'm gonna go.

Fans of The Lonely Island, SNL, or sketch comedy creation will find much to enjoy here. The episode is equally about the nuts-and-bolts of producing a digital short on a deadline, as it is about the lasting relationships forged through comedy and television. “The Roommate” may not have the fame of “Lazy Sunday” or “Dick in a Box,” but this loving dissection ensures it remains a key (and hilarious) entry in the Lonely Island/SNL canon.
Recommendation:
Watch “The Roommate” digital short for the full effect—its brevity, pacing, and sight gags are best experienced visually. Then come back and enjoy the affectionate breakdown in this episode.
