Morgan Stewart
hey everyone, I'm Morgan Stewart and welcome to the Morgan Stewart Show. I'm gonna be talking about pop culture, fashion, my personal life and just a warning, I will be giving my opinions on everything and those opinions are subject to change. Okay, now let's get into it. Okay you guys, we're rolling. I officially got the word. I just wanna say first and foremost that I was so excited to come in to do the pod alone today. I felt like I just wanted to have this sort of grounding experience and have this time for us to just connect, reconnect, chat about all the things. Typically I have like an immense amount of anxiety before I do the podcast. For whatever reason, whether that's I'm talking to myself or I'm talking to a guest. I feel like my my self worth is in question a lot lately. Like I'm like, do people really care about what the fuck I'm talking about? I just feel like the world is really big. There's so much going on, there's so many people doing sort of the same thing that I'm like, well, why would you tune into me? And then I remember who the fuck I am. So I go in and out of that just so we're all on the same page. And today I was, like, really excited to come in and just sort of spew all the things that are on my mind and the things that I want to share with you. So this will probably go all over the place, as it usually does. I do have notes in front of me that I already can't read and don't understand what I was talking about in half of them. But I feel like this would not be the Morgan Stewart show if I did not not have things be slightly messy. So let's discuss what's taken place in the last two weeks. Cody, are you excited to talk about that?
Cody Fisher
I'm excited. I'm scared.
Morgan Stewart
Yeah. We're all just, like, holding on for dear life. So we're recording this on a Tuesday. Typical Morgan Stewart. I always want to say Morgan Stewart sport. Guys, it fucking kills me. The Morgan Stewart show records on Wednesday. As you know, I was leaving. I will get into why I was. But I was supposed to be leaving town at the end of June for three weeks, as I told you. I was gonna do Switzerland alone with my mom and the kids. Jordan was gonna meet me. We were gonna do a solo parenting trip with our friends, and then I was gonna go back to Switzerland and do another week with my kids. That has since changed. And why that has since changed is first I was gonna record this episode last week, and then, unfortunately, Susan needed to be rushed to the er. And I was not sure if I was gonna go into detail with you guys about sort of everything that has taken place over the last few weeks with Susan. Why else am I doing this show? I have no reason to be sitting here and sort of avoiding real life topics in my life. So, as you know, my dad died October 2023, and then my brother unexpectedly passed away last July. And going way back, Susan has been dealing with an autoimmune disorder for as long as I've been basically alive that is not diagnosed. They cannot figure out exactly what it is to the point where when I was 11, she was misdiagnosed with Ms. And had to go on Ms. Medications and got so sick on that medication that after taking it for like, eight months, my dad finally organized for her to go to the Mayo Clinic. She got to the Mayo Clinic, and they were like, you do not have Ms. You absolutely have to stop taking the medication before you get really sick. And so since that has happened. She's been dealing with these sort of like periodic, I would say flare ups where she feels this like extreme burning sensation all like through her skull and all the way down her back where it's debilitating pain. They don't know what it is. There's some like vascular something going on and no one can like really pinpoint what it is. And as all autoimmune diseases happen, they get exacerbated when you are dealing with an immense amount of stress. Cody, do you think that that's an accurate way to explain autoimmune?
Cody Fisher
Hell, absolutely. Every time I go in they're like, what's your stress level?
Morgan Stewart
And you're like, what's your stress level? Yeah, you're like, hahaha, I'm running a life, I'm like trying to pay bills, I'm trying to organize myself. Like any level of stress, autoimmune does not like. So Susan has been feeling these symptoms. This happened like six years ago when my dad was alive the last time. And now obviously, with everything that has gone on, I think Susan has suppressed a lot of what has transpired in her life. I mean she lost her husband to 40 years and then her only son unexpectedly passes away. And I think she tried to truck through that and carry on as normal as best as she could. And I think what's happening now is she is experiencing, and we love her, so much physical symptoms, but also borderline some sort of, I don't wanna say psychotic break because she's not. But she's having a. She's extremely, extremely fragile. Extremely fragile. And all of the emotions that she suppressed throughout the last, you know, almost three years and specifically from last summer I think are bubbling up and bursting out of her. And I'm dealing with a different woman right now. She's staying with me because after the emergency room there was nothing wrong, which is always so frustrating. There isn't like you have this, this and this. And I mean, I'm not gonna go too into the details of her personal medical history. She also asked me not to, but they couldn't keep her there because there was nothing wrong. But she was a bit incoherent and disoriented and just really not feeling well. So I had to spend the day in the er and for me I was like, my God, like this is my, you know, last family member. I didn't think I was gonna get emotional. It's so weird. Last family member. And I'm like, God, you know, we just have really been hit by this season of. Of difficulty. And I think that's why I sometimes struggle with my purpose in doing this show and continuing to be in media, because I think that I am trying to get back to a version of me pre my dad and the version of me that was, like, on Nightly Pop. And that person is gone. She doesn't exist anymore. I keep trying to, like, row the canoe back. Do you know what I mean? Like, I'm like, well, okay, that happened. That's a moment in time. But, like, we're not. We're not gonna talk about that and deal with that. Like, we dealt with that. And the reality is, is you don't ever. You don't ever fully deal with the immense loss that I have experienced. It has forever changed me. And it's something that I think I need to be a bit more welcoming about and a little bit more empathetic to myself about. And I think what's happened is I've gotten some feedback, because when you do press consistently to promote something, a lot of the questions and subjects you're talking about are redundant, and they're very similar. And I've gotten feedback, and I've even gotten to the point where I'm like, okay, I need to mention this stuff before anybody else does. Cause I'm like, we can't talk about the dead family anymore, and we can't talk about how me and my husband got back together. Like, I understand that, but I am not going to rush myself or not talk about things that have impacted me and not only impacted me, but have forever change the DNA of the person I am to appease people. If you don't want to listen to me talk about certain things, don't listen to this fucking show. It's not for you. There's a million people that are talking about Love Island. There's a million people talking about whatever pop culture references that you want. Probably not as funny as I am, but they're talking about it. And I ran into somebody who I respect and admire, and she was like, you know, I've listened to all the episodes, and you just. You're just talking about yourself too much. And I really want to take a second to explain sort of the purpose of the Morgan Stewart Show. The Morgan Stewart show is about Morgan Stewart and Morgan Stewart's thoughts and feelings and opinions about every single thing going on, including pop culture, including fashion, including myself and my life. And I am, from this moment on, not going to censor myself in any way to appeal to other people and what I think they want. To hear from me and the show as I pitched it to Sirius and all the other networks that I was talking to, it was a show about me talking about whatever. I wanted an extended necessary realness if you were there for that. And I wanted to interview people close to me to showcase different sides of myself. So I was like, I wanna talk to my husband, I wanna talk to my best friends, I wanna talk to my nannies, I wanna talk to maybe former teachers of mine or people that have been in my life that I respect and admire. It wasn't always supposed to be celebrity centric, because why am I adding the Morgan Stewart show to a single sea of podcasts that are all talking about the same thing? I don't necessarily want, as I've said to you, the same celebrity that every other podcast has had on doing their press run, where you're. We're all asking the same questions. I wanted to provide a. A little corner of media for you guys to hopefully feel inspired by, engaged with, seen by. I wanted to bring something different to the market. And over recent weeks, you know, I've gotten caught up in feedback and I've also gotten caught up in. Caught up on sort of, you know, having guest after guest because it. It's definitely a grind to have a podcast and you need to make sure that you're maintaining relevance but also maintaining authenticity. And today was really important for me to get in here and just be open with you guys about that and, and explain, like, what. What this show is. And another thing that I want to
Commercial Announcer
say,
Morgan Stewart
when we started the Morgan Stewart Show, I was offered by Sirius. They were like. And my agent, they were like, well, everyone tests episodes. You can do testing. And I declined that. I am figuring out this show in real time with you guys. I am not polishing it, I'm not planning it. Yes, we're making edits. I don't wanna make it seem like we're not, like, doing anything to the show and I'm delivering a raw product to you, but there was an opportunity to make this show shiny and new and segment it out. And so if you guys have ideas, like, this show is our show together, send them to me. I'm happy to credit, like, we are figuring it out in real time. And that is who I am and that is always who I have been. And I was also thinking. Cause obviously we had Hunter and Nina on and you guys loved that and I loved having them. And I was so nostalgic and grateful and happy to have been with them and also really reflective of My time at E. And reflective of my time doing that show. And as of, like, the last three days and everything that's since happened again with, like, my mom, I'm like, this is. This is the time for me to do things by myself. I need to figure out who Morgan is on her own through this show and who I am now. Because, again, it's like, don't talk about yourself so much or don't talk about this. That happened. It's like, well, these are things that have happened to me that I'm now. There was pre everything, and there's post, and the post is a different. Is a different Morgan. And I think because maybe a little tiny bit of lightness. Is this dramatic, Cody, to say this, like, a little bit of light within me has toughened or hardened. Does that make sense?
Cody Fisher
Yeah, absolutely. I think that's also, like, to quote Blink182. Growing up, right?
Morgan Stewart
Yes. Yes. I don't feel as sort of flighty and bubbly and, I don't know, light as I did. And I think I need to just embrace this new version because everything is pretty much the same, but it's been jolted into a new reality, and there's just more layers to who I am as a person. And I'm trying to bring forth that version. I mean, I'm still having nightmares about the Roxy episode. And I just want to say one last time about Roxxxy, because I listened to the feedback about that, and I'm not somebody that's swayed easily. Like, I'm pretty rooted in myself, but I've been thinking about it so much. Cause I. I do have obsessive thoughts. Roxxxy and I had such a magical friendship when we were friends that I. I really relied on the history of us to carry us through that conversation. And that did not come alive in the way that I thought it was going to. So. And I realized that halfway through the episode, I was sort of losing my anchor and kind of just being like, but wait. But wait. And it was like I needed to go into that a bit more prepared, a bit more guarded, and a bit more just ready to, like, hit topics. That's the last mention of the Roxy episode I'll ever talk about. Cody. I just wanted to bring that up one more time.
Cody Fisher
Okay.
Morgan Stewart
And another thing that I want to. As I ramble, I do wanna say Susan is going to be fine. She's just in a really rough season, and she. I'm happy she's now going to be taking the time to take care of herself. And deal with just the immense grief that she has just postponed. So we are not gonn be going to Switzerland. I'm going to take a trip with Jordan alone for, I don't know, 10 days and that's it. And my priority is my family and making sure that we're in a good spot. So what I want to say is if you are somebody that is in a tough season in your life, I really encourage you to feel that. Feel it as loudly as you possibly can because the body keeps score, man. And if you try to suppress any amount of tension, anger, stress, defeat, it just remembers for you and will come out in a different way. So if you need to scream, cry, hit a pillow, paint, I don't know, go to a shooting range, whatever it is, I really do encourage you guys to feel whatever you're feeling. And if you are in a tough spot with needing to have a difficult conversation or stand up for yourself at work or deal with a contract that I'm dealing with right now, you need to take time for yourself and make sure that you're making the best decisions for yourself because it is so fucking cliche. But life is short. It does not mean you're here tomorrow. Doesn't mean I could leave this building and get hit by a car. Dark but it's the truth. So I'm here to remind you of that and make sure that you are putting yourself first. And yeah, I didn't think I was going to be having one of these types of conversations so soon. I thought we were going to be talking about Love island, which we're going to. We're going to talk about all the fucking things. But yeah, I just wanted to let you guys know kind of where I was at. Let's do some lighter, lighter chat. I feel so good. I swear to God. This show has become my therapist therapy. This is just random facts, and then I want to get into some pop culture. You know what I can't fucking stand? More than anything in the entire world, I cannot stand when somebody sends you a formal email, but they're trying to be nice because it's the first time you've emailed, and they're like, xx at the end. I hate that.
Cody Fisher
Wait, what?
Morgan Stewart
I fucking. That condescending motherfucking xx. Like, I was emailing some girls a few weeks ago about, like, nothing important, and they were like, hi, Morgan. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah xx. And I was like, unless you're like British, you know, royalty of any kind, aristocracy, I don't want you to say XX to me. I don't like xx. I don't like xo. I don't like any of drives me f. Just say best or warmly or like, thank you so much. Or use an exclamation point like xx comma, your name. It's not quirky. It's not quirky. It's not chic. It's not cute. It's not. It literally infuriates me.
Cody Fisher
I'm also like, I guess that's in place of saying love so and so. But you're like, who says that xx?
Morgan Stewart
Like xxx I put your name, I
Cody Fisher
put a dash in my name.
Morgan Stewart
Dash in your name. It's just, just like, it's something that is just. I don't know, it's one of those things that was in my notes. Like, it's just like a condescending little like I'm like, okay, you are not, you're not different by writing xx so we don't need to see that. Okay, let's talk about off campus. I also, as I'm like reading through these notes. I do have to just get into that. I was, I went to my in laws house two weeks ago because they were in town for something and I was eating pistachios. Cause my father in law always has pistachios on the counter. And he started talking to me like I have an MBA from Harbor. I have no idea what this man is saying to me all the time, but it's always like some smart shit. And he was basically explaining to me, I don't know if you've heard this, that pistachios and things that are taxing to eat, like they're more difficult and require more effort, are high response, are high response foods. So anything that's high response, that causes like, causes you effort to eat are basically good for you.
Cody Fisher
Yeah.
Morgan Stewart
Okay. So I was like chipping away at these fucking pistachios for 40 minutes. He was like, you know, that's a high response cost food. I'm like, what? Like, what do you mean? Like, I don't even know what that means.
Cody Fisher
You're supposed to work for your food basically.
Morgan Stewart
Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And he was basically saying all low response foods are bad for you. Cause you can like throw in a chicken nugget, you can basically like slam down a hot dog if you really want to. But things that take effort to get
Rachel Demita
to
Morgan Stewart
are good for you. So that's my little like health tip of the day. Another funny thing is I was, I was talking to my mother in law after we got into the high versus low response cost foods for like 40 minutes. I was like, I'm probably gonna bring that up on my podcast. He was, he came back, I was talking to my mother in law about like beauty treatments or something and then he interrupted and she's like, oh, you know, I'm just, I'm telling her something right fast. And the way she just slung around and looked at him like it's not your time to speak is just why I am obsessed with that woman more than any. I'm just, I gotta, I'm Telling her something right fast. Thank you. Like, it was. She's like a human pistol. It's insane. Okay, let's talk about Love Island. Okay. I have to be honest. I hope you guys are watching Love Island. Love island is like me and Jordan's guilty pleasure. It is like, one of those things that I am obsessed with, and I am not really obsessed with anything else on television. Like, I'm not. Like, we watch whatever show's, like, on, but we're not like, those people that are, like, watching all the things. And I have to say, I was not thrilled with this cast at first. Like, it's taken me the last three episodes to get into it. Cody has not seen an episode. Have you ever seen an episode? He's like, oh, God. Okay, you have to watch it. It's amazing. And I just want to say, hopefully no spoilers, but Kenzie. Kenzie's in the pink bikini, the blonde in the pink bikini, and Corbin, who's not in this original photo because we're looking at the original cast that came in. So what we're looking at right now, Cody, is the cast that arrived at Love Island. Obviously, there's bombshells that come in. You get set up with different people. Like, it is. Whoever came up with Love island is so brilliant because it is titillating. It's insane.
Cody Fisher
Can you. I'm interested. Cause I was getting fed a lot of stuff on Instagram. Like, people who have been on the island, and they were talking about being worried about kissing with bad breath, and I'm like, I watched Survivor, and I'm like, can they not brush their teeth? What happens? Can you set up what the show is?
Morgan Stewart
So basically the show. And I mean, I will do my best because I am like, you know, looking, watching it through my phone. But basically, it's a group of men and women that get brought to this house in the middle of wherever. I don't even know where they are. They're like, in Fiji or something like that. And they couple up, and then basically other people come in called Bombshells, either men or women, and they go in and they basically get added in with the group. And, like, some people that were originally coupled up with other people get asked to leave. You have to do a bunch of challenges as a couple. Like, it is a. A game show. Essentially. You have to win at the end. So whoever's the strongest couple wins. But America votes on everything. So America, two weeks ago or two episodes again or wherever we are, voted for a few of the couples to be shaken up couples that I thought were strong. So there was Melanie and sincere guys. Melanie is doing a lot. Melanie is gorgeous. I mean, they're all fucking stunning. Like, watching these people live in this house and just, like, look more and more beautiful every single day. That's Melanie. Like, what do you mean? Like, she just looks like that. That face is crazy. And she was with sincere. I liked them, but then I was like, no, Melanie's like, a sweet girl. This is sincere, and they're not gonna work out. So now sincere is coupled up with someone else. Coupled up with Sol, who was a bombshell, who is not in the original photo, and I think he's down for Sol. I really do feel like they're well matched. And then there's Kaida. So Kada and Zach together. Kada's one of those people that you're like, oh, I don't know how. God, like, had all that extra time. Like, she's just one of those stunning, gorgeous. Like, the face is gorgeous everything. Love them. Kenzie and Corbin were a couple. They're like one of those couples that you watch and you're like, oh, my God. The chemistry is palpable. Like, it's like it radiates through the screen. America voted Cody that they had to be split up and be coupled up with other people. Corbin is not my typical type, but Corbin is a specimen. I mean, he is so stunning. The body is literally lights out. He seems like a pretty decent, honest guy. And so he's coupled up with Melanie. Now Kenzie's coupled up with Caleb, and poor Caleb is just, like, doing everything he can to make it work with Kenzie, and she is just basically snaking off and being obsessed with Corbin, and they just keep, like, making out in all of these different areas, and I just feel it's just that, like, chemistry, that sexual chemistry that you can't deny.
Cody Fisher
Were they coupled before the show, or were they cast and then they couple up?
Morgan Stewart
No, they're all individuals. They go and they meet on the island. I love that you need to watch this show. It's like, it brings levity and light through the darkest of times. And all of America's voting, their whole app crashed last week because too many people voted, and they had to delay basically sort of like, the outcome of what was gonna happen.
Cody Fisher
I also heard the episodes are, like, come out right away.
Morgan Stewart
They're every single night except for Sunday, Saturday, and Wednesday. It's honestly one of the best things on television. And Caleb is Southern Kenzie's. Southern Kenzie's A former dancer. Like, they really are on paper. Like, they do have a lot in common. I really thought that maybe them being coupled up was, like, gonna bring something out of them. But poor Caleb is just waiting her to come back from making out with Corbin. And Melanie isn't sleeping. So this is the other thing I forgot to tell you, and you guys all know this, but I just want to know what you think about these couples. They all sleep, which I have so many thoughts about, sharing so much communal space with people and never getting away. They all sleep in a room together, so the couples sleep in a bed together, obviously. And they all sleep in a line. Like, the beds are lined up and they all sleep next to each other. So I just, like, often think about, like, what that room smells like and how disgusting it's inside.
Cody Fisher
Like a hotel. Not like a cabana.
Morgan Stewart
No, it's a. It's a house. But they share, like, one large bedroom, and all the beds are next to each other, and they're just, like, having sex in there, making out in there, Doing what? I mean, it's just, like, it must feel and smell like hot air. Like, just disgusting. The boys have, like, a very small bathroom that they share. There's, like, one shower. There's essentially, like, no privacy. So Melanie and Corbin are coupled up. Melanie, who is with sincere. Are you following? There's a place called the Hideaway. Or not the Hideaway. The. Hold on, we're calling reinforcements. Hold on, let's see if he answers. What the fuck is it called? Oh, can you hear this?
Unidentified Guest
Hello?
Morgan Stewart
What is the place called on Love Island? I'm talking about Love island now. Where they. Where Melanie's sleeping. I wanna say. I said the Hideaway. It's not the Hideaway. What's it called? She's sleeping alone. What's.
Unidentified Guest
Oh, and. Oh, no. And what is it? What is it? What is it called?
Morgan Stewart
Oh, great, she's out.
Unidentified Guest
Yeah, it's right on the tip of my tongue. As soon as we hang up, I'll remember it. Okay, cool.
Morgan Stewart
So we can put it in next week's episode then.
Unidentified Guest
No, it's. No, I'm gonna think of it.
Cody Fisher
I just looked it up. It says the Hideaway.
Morgan Stewart
No, it's not the Hideaway. It's like a. It's like a.
Unidentified Guest
No, it's like.
Morgan Stewart
Okay. Oh, Soul Ties. Soul Ties.
Unidentified Guest
Soul Ties.
Morgan Stewart
Okay, so ties by. Love you.
Rachel Demita
Bye.
Unidentified Guest
We go to Soul Ties.
Rachel Demita
Yeah. Oh, my God.
Morgan Stewart
He. This is. What's Corbin do? Corbin's voice.
Unidentified Guest
Can I get a kiss? I forgot what I Kiss. Can I get another kiss?
Pharmaceutical Advertiser
Okay.
Morgan Stewart
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye. So that's how Corbin talks. He literally asks everybody for a kiss. So Melody and Corbin are in a couple, and Melanie, because she is friends with Kenzie, is not sleeping in the bed with Corbin. She's sleeping in Soul Ties, which is this sort of, like, outdoor, like, lower sort of. What's like when you're like, oh, my God, you guys, I can't think today. What is it when you're in a pit when it's, like, low to the ground?
Cody Fisher
A semi sunken conversation pit area in the villa.
Morgan Stewart
That's what it is. Oh, the villa. I know it's called a villa, but it's a house. So there's this, like, sunken conversation pit area, as you just said, and you can sleep in there. If you don't want to sleep in the bedroom, it is outside. So Melanie has been sleeping there. And as of last night, Corbin, he started out the episode not kissing Kenzie, and then he ended up kissing Kenzie, which is what she wanted. She needed that validation. But he did not kiss Kenzie at first because he wanted to be respectful of Melanie and the new couple that they've entered into. But then Melanie still slept outside. So Corbin's kind of like, how are we going to get closer if you're sleeping outside? So then I realized they're all 22 years old and they really just all want to sleep with each other. And, like, we're talking about something as though it's, like, very serious, and it's just not.
Cody Fisher
What do they win at the end? Is there, like, a big, like, pot of money? What is the point of, like, you win money?
Morgan Stewart
So America needs to, first of all, like, vote for you to win. But there is a cash prize at the end, and you can either choose to split it with your partner or keep it. But yes, there's a cash prize. You win, and then everybody becomes obsessed with you. It's like a real commitment. And, like, yes, you can brush your teeth to go back to that, but you're. You're making out with so many people all day long, and you're living in this villa and you can basically be in a couple with somebody, but the whole point is to explore. So if you. They call pulling, pulling chat. So if you want to, like, pull somebody for a chat, Corbin can be talking to Kenzie and Melanie can come up, which is all the girls do this crazy ass, where if you're coupled up with a guy and he's, like, being open with you and saying oh, well, I want to expl. With Tiffany or whoever comes in and then they go do that. The person they're coupled up with, halfway through the conversation comes in and is like, can I pull you for a chat? Like, these girls get crazy. Like, there's no chill. I was saying to Jordan last night, if I was on Love island and I was coupled up with a man, and he was saying to me, look, I really like you, but I want to explore Tiffany again. I don't know why Tiffany's the word I'm the name I'm using today. If I want to explore Tiffany, there is not a shot in fucking hell. I'm going to go interrupt my couple with Tiffany to say, can I pull you for a chat? I'm gonna let him do whatever he wants and if he's. If I'm important enough to him, then he'll come back.
Cody Fisher
Okay, so I'm going. Cause I watch Survivor and so this, to me, I'm like, well, then you need to go into it going like, this is the game.
Morgan Stewart
It's very much that. But people fall. It depends how your experience. Like, I think everybody that I've seen so far, minus maybe one, they really do want to find love. But of course they wanna win in the end. I mean, they're all like, again, 22 to 29 years old. They're all incredibly gorgeous. They all get to sleep and hook up with each. I mean, they all get to make out at. At their own free will as much as they possibly want. Like, it's a dream situation to be in at that age.
Cody Fisher
The prerequisites are be hot, be horny.
Morgan Stewart
Be hot, be horny. That's what it is. Be hot, be horny. We'll cast you and be open for this experience. And it's really what America needed right now because we're obviously in such a divided time and it really is like bringing the people together that. And the Knicks. I'm talking about the Knicks. Like, they're the fucking Lakers. Like, obviously I'm from Los Angeles, but the Knicks, really, what did they do? They brought us back.
Cody Fisher
I think it's weird. I think it's fun to get behind a team. I'm calling myself a real sports guy lately.
Morgan Stewart
Oh, are you a real sports guy?
Cody Fisher
It's fun to get. I'm from LA too. Like, I'm like Dodgers, the Lakers. I guess I have to, like, because, you know, you can't.
Morgan Stewart
They're. I mean, and they were amazing for a long time.
Cody Fisher
Yes. But it's fun to Watch a team that hasn't won in forever. Like, breakthrough. And I say this as, like. I mean, I know the Dodgers are the evil empire right now.
Morgan Stewart
Are they? Why? I don't even know.
Cody Fisher
We just spend so much money on players that they might put a salary cap in, but thank God I know that now, where your team isn't, like, winning for so long and there's good players, there's like. It was exciting to watch New York be so excited, but I was out at a friend's house. Hard to park at their house. And Silver Lake, all the bars, people were going crazy.
Morgan Stewart
Crazy. No. And I have to say. Well, first of all, just to pause on the Lakers, like, we had Kobe Bryant. That's like having Michael Jordan. Like, that is the craziest thing, that we had the best player, literally, of all time.
Cody Fisher
Well, we had Kobe and Shaq together.
Morgan Stewart
Kobe and Shaq. I know my husband is very like, Michael Jordan is the best basketball player of all time. And there's no comparing, but I think Kobe's a close second. And I have to say, like, the Knicks have not. You said they haven't won in a long. They haven't won in 53 years, I think, rich, maybe.
Cody Fisher
Is it 1979 or 1973? I'm mixing up. I'll look it up.
Morgan Stewart
It's 53 years, right?
Cody Fisher
73.
Morgan Stewart
71, and 73.
Unidentified Guest
They won.
Morgan Stewart
So 53. Is that 53 years ago?
Rachel Demita
Yes.
Cody Fisher
I can't do math like that.
Morgan Stewart
I can't. By the way, hello. I was, like, I was gonna ask chat, but my Internet's down, so. And what I loved is, like, for a team like New York to take it, the sense of community, the fact that everybody is in the streets watching this together, is why New York probably is, like, the best city in America, even though. And we live and die in la. Like, we are such an isolated city because you go to your house and you don't leave it. You have people there. Like, if you are not a part of a community that is inviting you to a certain location, you are not really amongst the people. I mean, I'm in this serious building right now. There's, like, six people in this building. Like, it's vacant. In New York, it would be buzzing.
Cody Fisher
But then also, we're in our car, singularly. This is not my thought, but. And it's like the city of New York. They're riding the subway together.
Morgan Stewart
They're in it together. They're in it together. They're walking, they are talking, they're in. I Was think the other day how I can literally go three days and speak to, like, my one friend on the phone. I am singularly in the car all day long. Like, I'm going through my whole day by myself. Which is also, I think, a difference in how I am now versus how I was pre, sort of hiatus, nightly pop. Like, I just. There was so much more community, more people around, and it's. It's sort of nice to have these things where you feel connected to other people at this point.
Cody Fisher
Yeah. And it's fun. Like, I just. Like, I don't watch basketball as much. I feel like I should. But then it was, like, fun being able to talk to people. My friend was having a party, and he had people there. I didn't know, but it's something that you can just. It's an icebreaker, too.
Rachel Demita
It's the best.
Cody Fisher
And we're talking about when we watch it, we're like, wow, this is so great. It was just a fun thing. And you're immediately connected with people. So to your point. Yeah. It's like, that's the community aspect of. Can't believe I'm saying this.
Unidentified Guest
Sports.
Morgan Stewart
No, sports. It's true. And I have to say, like, even for me, like, I get invited to a million things, and. And sort of the, like, initial reaction is this, like, heavy feeling of, like, oh, I'm really not gonna want to go to that, or I'm really just gonna want to get in bed with my husband and just, like, watch TV and relax and, like, you know, save my energy for the next day. And I. As of lately, I have really come to the realization that I am a social being and I need to put myself in situations that even though I'm exhausted, I have to push through because I always feel better after I've gone for at least an hour. I see somebody I haven't seen in a long time. I run into somebody I wouldn't have run into. I mean, even spoiler alert. But, like, I went to the Hermes show, which I love, but, like, I still had a full day at a podcast. I was really tired. Like, it's a lot of effort to kind of go to this stuff. Um, I ran into Chloe Feynman, and she's coming on the show. I mean, hopefully she doesn't cancel, but she's coming on the show, and it's just. It's always nice. That's another thing that I want you to take away from today's episode. Like, put yourself in situations that don't always necessarily. I mean, not that, that they shouldn't feel bad, but anything that you're sort of on the fence about. And if it's due. If you're on the fence about it due to laziness, go. Unless you have to, like, get up at six o' clock in the morning. Because I also think when I was doing nightly pop, when I was doing daily pop, when I was doing that whole time at E, I never went anywhere at night because I had to be up at 5:15 every morning. And that was at a period in my life where I had no husband, I had no children. Like, the world was really my oyster. And I look back and think I kind of. I should have pushed myself more to be social, engage and just further relationships. Because there is gonna be a period in, in your life where like, you know, things come before you. Right now I'm in a season where I obviously have two small children and my morning starts out with them sometimes hitting each other or scratching each other or they wanna share a toy. Like, the nervous system is. Is at such a high state so early that if you're not in that season in your life, you should really enjoy it to the nth degree as much as you possibly can, you know?
Cody Fisher
Morgan, have you seen. I know. World Cup's going on.
Morgan Stewart
Oh, yes. Yeah, I know the traffic is fucking crazy, dude.
Cody Fisher
It's crazy. But I'm sort of jealous that LA doesn't have this vibe either. In Boston, there's a whole bunch of Scottish people that have taken over the city and they went to a fen. A Red Sox game at Fenway and they brought a vibe that is like they're singing every song and I'm like, we don't have that at Dodgers Stadium. We don't have that vibe. And I'm like, they're bringing like a total community over.
Morgan Stewart
Well, also, like, European sports fans, like, they're quirky. They're like, so on top of it. It's really just. That is what I am seeking. I am seeking community. I am seeking meaningful relationships. I am like, seeking light and happy. And I think this has been a theme on the show with all the guests that we've spoken to is.
Unidentified Guest
It's.
Morgan Stewart
It's like I sometimes feel like I'm unattainable to people to, to strike up real relationships because they don't view me as being a real person. And I don't say that, like, from an arrogance standpoint. Like, I, I am so normal, but yet I've lately felt more isolated and people, like, approach me like, I am like maybe not normal or not like like they could never be friends with me. Even moms at my kids school are kind of like oh but you've, you have all this stuff and I'm like what? You know what I mean. This sports theme is really what's perking up for me today. I swear to God. This show is like therapy.
Cody Fisher
Oh my gosh, you're a sports guy now.
Morgan Stewart

Cody Fisher
Is this different than, like, it's so
Morgan Stewart
what it is, it's so what it says.
Cody Fisher
Okay, bare.
Morgan Stewart
Yeah. So basically I said on Rich Kids and it has, like, not haunted me, but become like the most famous line. I said, if you don't have your nails done, it looks like you have dirty underwear on. Which is something my mom used to say to me when I was a kid. She did not mean your nails needed to be painted or manicured. She just meant they can't have chipped nail polish because it just sort of gives this look and feel that you're like, unkept. I said that on Rich Kids. This is. This has followed me now for 12 years because Rich Kids last aired or 10 years ago. Started 12 years ago, ended 10 years ago, which is insane. So now there's basically this trend that's happening where the girls are anti manicure and they're not getting their nails done anymore. And somebody was like, I really need to hear you speak about this. And for me, I wanna go and say, like, the true fashion girls, the girls that were working at Vogue, the girls that were working at Vanity Fair and all these, like, fashion publications over in the 90s, those girls were never getting their nails done. They always just like, had bare, clean, like nails and like, some of them maybe did their nails. So to kind of go into this trend now where it's like, oh, you know, it's not chic to get your nails done or like, you know, for me, it was never about having them painted. It was always just having them look clean. I am a girl personally that doesn't like to jump on trends because when anything is so fast and ferocious and trend driven, I just see it go up like a rocket and just, I immediately just see it coming back down right before it's over. So I like to remain steadfast in who I am in my opinions and decisions while evolving at a health, at a healthy rate. And I am somebody that is forever going to get my nails done and going to probably have color on my nails. It makes me feel more put together.
Cody Fisher
I also feel like these trends come in so fast and go away. It just takes two people to say, like, have a strong opinion. And it's sort of like, we don't need to follow everybody's personal opinions.
Morgan Stewart
We don't need to follow everything for everybody. And I got myself caught up in that. Like the Olsen twins, for example, Bible. They haven't gotten their nails done in 15 years. Like, maybe they're buffing them out. Like, there are girls that don't get them. If you're a girl that gets your nails done and you like that, continue to get your nails done, the only thing I would advocate for is just, like, not chipped nails. That's really all I would say.
Cody Fisher
But also, like, bare nails versus manicures. I'm assuming most, like, Olsen twins, are getting manicures. They're just not painting fair. So we could be very, I think, clear on what that means.
Morgan Stewart
Totally. I think, like, the true fashion girl at Vogue, probably not even getting a manicure. Probably just, like, clip and filing her nails herself, which very chic. And I guess my purpose in saying this is, like, if that's who you are, great. If you are now, like, oh, I'm not chic because I have red nails. No, wear those red nails proudly. I've had red nails now for the last five months. I'm just red nails. Red nail girl.
Cody Fisher
Red nails, to me, are so classic and so chic. And it, like, looks good on everyone. It does.
Morgan Stewart
And it's fun. I mean, I. I also go through phases where I'm, like, picking the same color for, like, months. I mean, before it was like. Like, I had the same color on for a year. Okay, I can't finish this episode without talking about Off Campus, you guys. This episode, this series has just, like, brought me much like Love island to, like, such a place of euphoria. Which, by the way, we'll talk about euphoria next time. Because, like, I. That ending, to me, was, like, so crazy. Like, why did we invest all our time in that show if, like, it was just gonna end like that? Anyway, we have to talk about Off Campus. Kody, I assume you have not seen Off Campus either.
Cody Fisher
I watched the first episode. Cause everyone. My interns have been talking about it,
Morgan Stewart
so I'm like, oh, no. The interns. The interns are. How old are the interns? They're 20.
Cody Fisher
Both 20. I think one's freshly turning 21 soon.
Morgan Stewart
You guys, Off Campus has brought me so much happiness and joy. I've, first of all, been. I don't know how you only watched one episode and didn't watch all of them. It is obviously, like, a terrible show, but it is the best show. At the same time, like, the tension, the vibes, the situation between Hannah Wellesley, whatever, and Belmont. I mean, Garrett Graham is basically what we all wish to happen at some point in our lives or another. Like, it is so good. The layered complexities between these Characters, these just like hot people hooking up and making out and like, the tension that builds, like they're not together. Are they gonna be together? They break up, they get back together. Like, it's basically just like the happiest. It reminds you of like the happiest time of your life. Right.
Cody Fisher
It is very low stakes and I
Morgan Stewart
think it's so low stakes.
Cody Fisher
Yeah. Why? It's fun to watch. And yes, there's, you know, you're getting a little nudity in there.
Morgan Stewart
You're getting some tits, you're getting some tits in there. You're getting a lot of just sort of like gyrating and things happening. And what I like is like, they don't spend too much time on the drama. Like, things like Garrett, for example, is like really nice to Welzie. Um, and yeah, they have their like, moments, but I just feel like the whole thing is just so cheesy but so good. And I am so signed up. And I have to say, when I looked up Garrett Graham and I found out his name was Belmont Comelli, I was like, I'm gonna have to sit with that for a few days. But he does a great job. Everybody does a great job. Ally who play, like, I just think the cast is really well cast. And who's the other guy? Steven. Steven, who's hooking up with Ally in the show. They're the second couple. So Ali's obviously Wellsie's best friend and then Steven's Garrett's best friend. And those two are like, usually the second couple in a show like that is not as interesting and we kind of just have to pass the time. Their sexual chemistry and tension with one another is pretty off the charts. So I highly recommend you watch the rest of the episodes.
Cody Fisher
The character Ally is so pretty and she's such a good actor that I'm like, I wonder if she was up for the role of Wellsie because she's just so good.
Morgan Stewart
Yeah, I think think potentially. But like, everybody landed where they, where they were supposed to land. But yeah, I'm happy we have these shows right now. I am so happy that I got to have this time with you guys. I again, this show is gonna shape and form week after week. So if there are certain things that you want me to speak about or you have segment ideas, I mean, we don't really need full on producer segment ideas, but if you, if you want to throw them our way, we will obviously try to our best to incorporate them. So I think that's it for now, right?
Cody Fisher
Yeah. And Then go to the show description cause our email is in there.

Episode: Can I Pull You For A Chat?
Date: June 24, 2026
Host: Morgan Stewart
Guest: Cody Fisher
In her signature, unfiltered style, Morgan Stewart returns to the mic for a solo episode—though joined by co-executive producer Cody Fisher—for an intimate catch-up. Morgan opens up about navigating personal hardships, the evolving direction and purpose of her show, and her raw take on family struggles, identity, grief, and growth. There’s also plenty of humor as she dives into pop culture obsessions like Love Island and Off Campus, muses about micro-trends, and unpacks the power of community, nostalgia, and being true to one's shifting self.

With humor, heart, and unscripted candor, Morgan Stewart delivers a multi-layered solo episode tackling family hardship, shifting identity, the pressure and purpose of podcasting, and her pop culture joys. Avoiding “headline-chasing,” she crafts an honest, meandering conversation about messy growth, inviting listeners into both her vulnerability and fun. The message: embrace change, own your story, say yes to community, and feel your feelings—even (especially) if it gets messy.
