And we exchanged one message about this. This was very natural. This was. When did this come together? Two weeks ago. I said, will you come on the pod?

Yeah. You reached out, you know, of course I follow you and see all of your fabulous fashion and whatnot. And you said, would you come on the pod? And I think I was in nice. At this point.

[Morgan Stewart]

You were doing. Were you doing Jimmy Choo?

I did not know where you were. And I was like, how is Lisa in all these iconic tiktoks?

Yeah. Because we went on this Jimmy Choo trip and it was all these influencers and me.

And they surprised these kids. Cause they're kids. They surprised the kids an hour before with me as the host of the dinner. It was so cute. I had the time of my life. We had so much fun.

I was literally contracted to do, like, two things, right? Okay, a dinner, and then I danced around the hotel for four hours, and we did content. No.

By the way, I kept seeing you in. Before I reached out to you, I kept seeing you in different content. And I'm like, where is this? What trip is this? But everyone. It seemed like you had a vibe with everybody.

[Lisa Rinna]

It was so much fun that I ended up doing everything. Every dinner, go to the boat trip, go to the, like, you know, bar. I did everything because it was so fun. See, they're very smart.

[Morgan Stewart]

They are very. You had a good time. There's nothing better than just, like, going into something that's supposed to be business and then you have the best vibe. Yes.

[Lisa Rinna]

And that's exactly what happened. I got to bring my own hair and makeup people, which, by the way, I've never been able to do that.

Not through a business. I mean, you can always bring your own. Like on Housewives, you could bring your own. No one has ever said to me, you can bring your own hair and makeup and a guest. And I was like, what?

[Morgan Stewart]

Who was your guest?

It ended up being my manager. Because of course, I was gonna have Harry come, but Harry had to go to Canada and open up our place in Canada, which is a whole nother story. And so I brought my manager, who is so fun. So we had a blast.

[Morgan Stewart]

I really. I could tell by the way, speaking of that, first and foremost, I've been thinking about you so much. Cause obviously I asked you to go on the pod. I saw you on all these tiktoks, but you are in my mind from such a young. I have never said this to you. Cause we haven't talked about it. I grew up close to the Beverly Glenn center, so I have vivid memories of Lisa Rinna being with my parents as a young kid. Like, I'm talking five or six years old. You checking out in front of me at the Beverly Glen Market, and my parents being like, well, yeah, that's Lisa Rinna. Like, you have been in my world.

[Lisa Rinna]

Are you kidding?

[Morgan Stewart]

I just, like, unlocked a memory. Like at the pizza place. Do you remember when it used to be Santa Pietro's?

[Lisa Rinna]

And I go there. I've been going there for 30 years. 35 years. 35 years.

[Morgan Stewart]

Yeah, literally.

[Lisa Rinna]

I used to work at the eyeglass store there.

[Morgan Stewart]

Shut the fuck up. Yes.

My friend owned a store called Clayton Franklin, and it was eyeglasses and sunglasses.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay.

[Lisa Rinna]

I worked there right before I got Days of Our Lives. So I was working for a friend of mine. I was collecting unemployment. I hadn't done anything really yet. And that's where I met Harry.

[Morgan Stewart]

Is at the Beverly Glenn Center.

[Lisa Rinna]

Yeah.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay. Another thing, this is. Wait, how did. Wait, where specifically?

[Lisa Rinna]

At Clayton Franklin at the online store.

[Morgan Stewart]

And he walked in and you said, this is the most gorgeous man I've ever seen.

[Lisa Rinna]

Well, I knew who he was. He was so uber famous at that point, I just was like, oh, my God, that's Harry Hamlin. Shit. You know, wow. And long story from there, but that is where I actually met him. And I go there.

[Morgan Stewart]

I'm always there, always there. And it's changed so much. But those are my earliest memories.

[Lisa Rinna]

I can't believe that.

[Morgan Stewart]

And I have. I have known. But I've always known that, but have never vocalized that or even checked in with myself about it.

[Lisa Rinna]

Yeah. So we go way back. Way back. You're like in my zeitgeist when you're a kid.

Like a baby.

But then I also, obviously we. I'm obsessed with star signs on this show and I get like, mixed messages. People are like, don't talk about the signs. Talk about the signs. I've realized I'm no longer gonna ask people about their signs. I'm just gonna tell you your sign. Do you know your chart?

I'm curious about this. When you met originally, how did you start dating?

Well, he was on a. He had. Long story. He was in a really bad relationship, in a horrible. Going through a horrible divorce.

[Lisa Rinna]

And then I didn't date him right away because he was so fucked up. I was like, you know what? You're gorgeous and I really like you, but you've got work. You've got things you gotta go do. So he went off and played for a little while, and then about eight months later, we kind of met up again. And I was like, okay. And I started talking to him and I found out how smart he was, and he seemed like a really good guy. So I talked to him for like two weeks. Oh, wow. And then I was like, okay. So I was very slow with him and. Cause in my mind, you know, he was a playboy in a way. You know, he'd been married to really beautiful women. And I was like, I don't know. And so I just kind of played it out a little bit. And then I was like, okay, he's a really good guy and I should have kids with him.

[Morgan Stewart]

And you knew. Did you know immediately?

[Lisa Rinna]

I knew immediately.

[Morgan Stewart]

And then how far after did you guys get engaged and do all that?

[Lisa Rinna]

Like, five and a half years.

[Morgan Stewart]

It took forever because he was so burned. He didn't really want to get married again.

[Morgan Stewart]

I did not know that he had a baby mama. He'd had two marriages. I mean, there was history there that did not feel very safe for him. So I can't believe I waited it out. But I did because I was busy and I was working. And most people are like, my kids even asked the other day, they were like, how long before you were engaged and married? And I was like, five and a half years. They were Like, I would have run.

[Morgan Stewart]

You also don't give me the type of personality where you would have stayed for five. But you just knew that this was gonna be something.

[Lisa Rinna]

I think I did. I knew that he would make a great father.

[Morgan Stewart]

And he has.

[Lisa Rinna]

And so through that whole time, you're doing Days of your. How long did you do Days of Your?

[Lisa Rinna]

I only did Days of Our Lives for three years. Which is your first contract.

[Morgan Stewart]

And most people think I did it much longer.

I felt like that was like a 10 year span. I could have researched that. But I like to ask real questions in real time.

[Lisa Rinna]

Much longer. Most people. Most people are still there that I worked with, if you can believe it.

Yeah, you heard me right. They've been there for 50 years.

Okay, so then you did. And then where did we go from Days of our Lives?

[Lisa Rinna]

We went and did a Lifetime movie with George Hamilton called Vanished. It was a Danielle Steele book.

[Morgan Stewart]

Oh, my God.

[Lisa Rinna]

I flew to Montreal. I was 20. I feel like I was 25, but I don't remember exactly how old I was. And George was 50 and I played his wife.

[Morgan Stewart]

Got it. Okay. So appropriate age.

[Lisa Rinna]

Yep, exactly. And then I started doing other little movies. I did a movie with Rob Estes before I did Melrose. Okay. And then I did Melrose. Okay.

[Morgan Stewart]

And Melrose. That's like the most iconic. Was that fun? Did you like that?

[Lisa Rinna]

I loved Melrose so much. It was such a highlight of my career. Heather Locklear was such a queen. How she was like the anchor of that show. And that always trickles down.

[Morgan Stewart]

So you loved her? Loved, Loved working with her.

[Lisa Rinna]

Oh, yeah. I really learned how to be professional on a set from Heather. How to treat people, show up on time and be professional and be fun and have fun. I did. I learned that from Heather Locklear.

So I learned how to learn my lines every night. 20 to 40 pages of dialogue. A Day that.

How was that? Something like, were you a good student, for example?

[Lisa Rinna]

No.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay. So was that something you had to like? Was that repetition? That, to me, would be very challenging.

[Lisa Rinna]

It's very challenging. But after a while, it's like a muscle, and you just. You get in the groove of it. But if you don't keep doing it, forget it, forget it, forget it. It's very difficult. So I was so busy doing that, and I didn't really learn. And it's a much bigger set, you know, when you're working on a soap opera and there's a lot more people. So when I was on Melrose, which. Hot as a pistol at the time. Right.

[Morgan Stewart]

I mean, that was. I mean, that was. Would you say, as hot as 90210?

[Lisa Rinna]

Yeah, absolutely. It was those two. It was those two.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay.

[Lisa Rinna]

And I just came into it, you know, year five, and everybody could have been. They could have been tricky with me, and they were so nice. And Heather just ran the whole thing in a way that you didn't know. She was literally teaching you how to behave on a set, and that's how I learned.

[Morgan Stewart]

How long were you on Melrose?

[Lisa Rinna]

Only two years.

[Morgan Stewart]

Why do I feel. But you've had such a long career and you've done so much.

[Lisa Rinna]

Exactly. I just keep going. Like an Energizer Bunny, you know, I just keep going.

[Morgan Stewart]

You, like, reinvented yourself more than I think most people have in this business, do you think?

[Lisa Rinna]

I don't know. I think Madonna's got me there.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay, fine. Madonna. But also in terms of, like. But you've done. Madonna's. Been a singer, songwriter.

[Lisa Rinna]

I've done a lot of different things.

[Morgan Stewart]

A lot of different things, yes.

[Lisa Rinna]

Because I realized when I turned 40 that I wouldn't work as an actress enough to make money to support my family.

[Morgan Stewart]

Already at 40.

[Lisa Rinna]

Oh, yeah.

[Morgan Stewart]

Do you think that's changed since then? I feel like 40 now.

[Lisa Rinna]

No, you. I think as an actor, everything's changed. If you're 40, you're young now, but then if you were 40 and you were just acting, you're 75, you would not make a living. So that's when I started to branch out. And I did the talk show and I did the red carpet, and I just do, you know, I was like. I had to support my family.

[Morgan Stewart]

Yeah, 100%. You were both working actors, obviously, throughout.

[Lisa Rinna]

Exactly.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay, so you get married. What year do you have Delilah?

[Lisa Rinna]

The year? The next year. So 97. We get married and we have Delilah in 98.

[Morgan Stewart]

I also have Your, like, wedding picture in my brain.

[Lisa Rinna]

It was pretty.

It was pretty gorgeous. And you still look the same.

[Lisa Rinna]

Oh, thank God. I mean, I think I do. I'm pretty close to it, hopefully.

The body is so crazy.

Now, I also love to work out, so I think the thing about me is I'm just consistent.

I don't do anything difficult, though. I've tried everything.

Okay, so, like, what in terms of, like, dieting? People are obsessed with hearing this stuff.

[Lisa Rinna]

Yes, all of it. Like, I've tried everything.

Okay.

[Lisa Rinna]

Everything. But I'm not crazy about anything. So I just do everything very consistently. I do what works, what feels right for my body. I eat what I want, when I want, when I feel like I want it. I do not believe in breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I am not hungry.

[Morgan Stewart]

Fair. Okay. And then what about alcohol? Do you drink alcohol?

[Lisa Rinna]

I do drink alcohol. And the thing about me is I. I'm not an addictive person. So I could literally have some cigs, be fine. I can have a drink. Like, I'm not addictive. So it's very easy for me to have cocktails and such. Cause I don't have that gene.

[Morgan Stewart]

Luckily, I'm the same way. I feel like I. I definitely feel like things have shifted recently where, like, you know, you just. If I have any alcohol now, I feel awful.

[Lisa Rinna]

I have to be very careful now.

[Morgan Stewart]

So, like, what are we. Are we drinking red wine? I should have probably asked somebody. Yeah.

[Lisa Rinna]

You know, a glass.

[Morgan Stewart]

A glass at two at the most. Did we drink on the Jimmy Choo trip?

[Lisa Rinna]

Oh, yes, we did. Only I drank that trip.

[Morgan Stewart]

I find that, you know, I had my vodka soda, Dorit kind of, you know, three lemons carcass out moment for a couple years.

[Morgan Stewart]

The carcass out is really what fucking tickles my.

[Lisa Rinna]

What is that good? It's just so dorit. It's Dorit. She just doesn't want. She wants the number of lemon in the drink, but she doesn't want those three big fat lemons in the drink.

[Lisa Rinna]

Okay, so you take it out.

[Morgan Stewart]

Brilliant. So I did that for a while, but as you get older, your body starts to react to alcohol a little differently. So right now, for me, wine is better than hard alcohol.

Yeah, I'm totally with you on that. Okay, so post. The alcohol really does kill me. I have all these different. I'm like, which way do I want to go?

[Lisa Rinna]

It's so fun. Like, I love a cocktail. I love a glass of wine.

What's your cocktail?

The vodka soda.

Oh, so you're a car.

Vodka soda. I love. Little tequila on the rocks. I love tequila.

No, but we all go through phases. We go through phases, but to land here.

Oh, thank you so much. I appreciate that. Cause I feel really good right now. I feel like. I mean, the hormones take a minute to rebalance. I just kind of went through a phase where they were a little unbalanced.

So what were you experiencing? Because I feel like I'm going through that a little bit myself.

[Lisa Rinna]

Hot flashes and, like, sweating at night and irritability and not being able to sleep. And I was like, mm, mm, we're not gonna do this. So I just went up on my estrogen.

[Morgan Stewart]

And you were fine.

[Lisa Rinna]

Yeah. Now I feel like I'm back.

[Morgan Stewart]

Are you ever irritable? Like, aside from that, like, what really gets you going?

[Lisa Rinna]

Well, a lot of things.

[Morgan Stewart]

Yeah, I know, but, like, I'm curious. Like, in the real world, like, if you're like, this or a trait or something.

[Lisa Rinna]

Okay, here's something that people don't know about me that I've just figured out myself. I have a little something called misophonia.

[Morgan Stewart]

What the fuck is that? Somebody Google it. Cause I don't know what that is.

[Lisa Rinna]

It's a hearing thing. So, like, my daughter Amelia has it. She has misophonia to where my chewing drives her crazy. Like, insane. If anyone chews too loudly around her, she goes nuts. So I have it with the television. If I Hear the television downstairs in the kitchen. Too loud. I get so pissed off. That's just the truth.

[Morgan Stewart]

Yeah, okay.

[Lisa Rinna]

It was such a great time in la. Like, I know Kyle Richards has great stories about the 90s. I had such a great time in the 90s. The fashion was so good in the 90s.

Have you always been into fashion?

[Lisa Rinna]

I have, ever since I was 16 years old.

[Morgan Stewart]

You were just, like, into it.

[Lisa Rinna]

Yeah. I got my first Vogue magazine. I live in this little tiny town in Medford, Oregon.

[Morgan Stewart]

Oh, my God. Medford, Oregon. I didn't even know that.

[Lisa Rinna]

Oh, yeah. I thought I had died and literally gone to heaven when this Vogue magazine this September.

[Morgan Stewart]

Oh, wow.

[Lisa Rinna]

Arrived at my house. And that changed everything. So, yeah, this fashion thing, which is just. You're really seeing it now. It goes way back.

[Morgan Stewart]

[Lisa Rinna]

And then. Okay, so let's talk about little Lisa then. So did you, first of all, were your aspirations to always be famous, an actress? Yes. And did you think you were gonna go this far?

[Lisa Rinna]

No. I mean, I always wanted to just be that. Nothing else.

[Morgan Stewart]

Just an actress.

[Lisa Rinna]

I wanted to be famous.

[Morgan Stewart]

Famous.

[Lisa Rinna]

Yeah. I wanted to be famous, but I wanted to be an actress. But famous was fun. It was a fun idea.

[Morgan Stewart]

And also, like, famous at that point was kind of like, if you are gonna be famous, it's because you are an actress.

[Lisa Rinna]

Exactly. So that was the plan.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay, so you were like. You paint the picture when you were young was Lois like, I know that Lisa's gonna be famous.

[Lisa Rinna]

Well, Lois wanted to be an actress.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay.

[Lisa Rinna]

I really wanted to be famous. So it was really through, I think, probably the womb that I just came out that way and I was gonna do it.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay.

[Lisa Rinna]

So she loved it. And so in my. And in my house, acting was it like, they followed everybody. My mom knew who everyone was. She knew who everyone was married to. Okay. Like, it was her.

[Morgan Stewart]

What was Lois's sign?

[Lisa Rinna]

June 7th.

[Morgan Stewart]

And your dad?

[Lisa Rinna]

June 2nd.

So imagine what that's like. I would have, well, four children and four parents. Like, right?

[Morgan Stewart]

That is. Yeah, 100%. Oh, my God. But you have some Gemini in you.

[Lisa Rinna]

Yeah.

Okay, so then she wants to be out. She knew who everyone was married to, and you were like.

[Lisa Rinna]

She would get the magazines and know everything. So I grew up with that.

[Morgan Stewart]

Yeah.

[Lisa Rinna]

So I grew up with a love of everyone who's in the business.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay.

[Lisa Rinna]

I grew up with the love of the fan magazines, the celebrities. So when I got to la, I knew who everyone was. You know, I knew the business. I'd watched all the old movies, and so I felt like I was ready. And I. Here I am.

[Morgan Stewart]

How old were you when you moved to LA?

[Lisa Rinna]

24.

[Morgan Stewart]

By yourself?

[Lisa Rinna]

With Bob, my boyfriend, Bob from Medford. How long did we.

[Morgan Stewart]

Bob. How long did we keep Bob?

[Lisa Rinna]

We only Kept Bob, or Bob only kept me. It was.

[Morgan Stewart]

He had to go home.

[Lisa Rinna]

Mutual. Yeah, about a year and a half. A year? Year and a half. And then Bob went on to his thing and I went onto mine.

[Morgan Stewart]

And then how long after that you were in LA did you start booking gigs? Like, right away, was that.

[Lisa Rinna]

Not right away? I would say I started doing commercials.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay.

[Lisa Rinna]

That's where I got lucky. I did. I think my first thing was a Mervyn's commercial.

[Morgan Stewart]

Oh, my God, Mervyn's. You guys, my assistant doesn't know what Mervyns is.

[Lisa Rinna]

Do you?

[Morgan Stewart]

No, yeah, no, of course I remember Mervyn's.

[Lisa Rinna]

So I did a Mervyns commercial and then I think I did a Pepsi. And so I started to make residuals and then I. Oh, yeah, you did already. Oh, you got paid, right? Like, you would get paid every time it would air. Cause it was just three channels at that point, I think. I don't know how many channels, but they did commercials and. And you got residuals. So then I got a Taco Bell commercial.

[Morgan Stewart]

Oh, wow.

[Lisa Rinna]

And then I ended up doing like 13 of them. That's how I survived. That's how I majorly paid my way for, I would say, four years.

[Morgan Stewart]

Thirteen Taco Bell commercials?

[Lisa Rinna]

Yeah, 13.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay, so what were we doing in these commercials?

[Lisa Rinna]

You were just like, yeah, cutoffs on.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay.

[Lisa Rinna]

We had cowboy esque outfits, cowboy boots. I'll never forget one of them. We went out to the desert, like Joshua Tree or wherever we were. And we're all dancing, you know, having fun. Having fun, whatever. And there was probably five or six of us, I don't even remember. And they would bring us burritos to eat, but the burritos were wrapped in baby wipes. Like baby wipes that smell like baby powder.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay. I don't know about that.

[Lisa Rinna]

And you would have to take a bite. No, it's literally 105 degrees out and. And they would have a bucket, like a plastic bucket, and everyone would go spit into it. Yeah, it was really glamorous, this career that. I've had lots of very glamorous stages. I'll never forget that the other day I had done a Sonic commercial and I told them the story because they bring out this hamburger and, you know, God knows where it's been.

[Morgan Stewart]

God knows where it's been.

[Lisa Rinna]

And the spit bucket came out and I was like, oh, my God, we're here.

[Morgan Stewart]

Why did they have to wrap it in a baby?

[Lisa Rinna]

To keep it moist and fresh and looking fabulous. That was the star. So you had to do it. And you know, you just did it in your 20s. You just were like, fuck it. Okay. Nowadays I may say something and say,

[Morgan Stewart]

you know, I'm not gonna do that.

[Lisa Rinna]

I don't think I'm gonna take that bite. But back then I was in my people pleasing.

[Morgan Stewart]

Yeah, of course.

[Lisa Rinna]

You know, era.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay.

[Lisa Rinna]

And that's what you did.

[Morgan Stewart]

Oh, my. I'm literally.

[Lisa Rinna]

Yeah, you'll never forget that now that I've told you.

[Morgan Stewart]

No, I literally. I keep. Cause I'm obviously just fresh off of having little babies. So that scent is so.

[Lisa Rinna]

Imagine that in a burrito. Yeah.

[Morgan Stewart]

But then I'm thinking of the burrito, the stuffing, the kids. I'm like, it's just a lot of flashbacks.

[Lisa Rinna]

A lot.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay, so you're in LA, you're doing the gigs, you meet Harry, you 97, you have your first baby. Did you ever take any time off to kind of just be mom or were you always working even through the girls?

[Lisa Rinna]

I was working even through the girls because, you know, Harry wasn't working at the time.

[Morgan Stewart]

Right.

[Lisa Rinna]

So somebody had to work.

[Morgan Stewart]

Amen.

[Lisa Rinna]

You know, And I happened to. I didn't work for the first 15 months with Delilah, so that I did have that. But I had horrible postpartum. Oh, no. And that's a whole nother thing. I mean, she's fine. She turned out fine.

[Morgan Stewart]

I think you've done a great job. Clearly.

[Lisa Rinna]

I think they turned out great. But there have been obviously challenges through. And that was. That was tough. Went back to work. I think I did. Soap talk was the first thing. I did a few acting things. But then soap talk came along when Amelia was born.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay.

[Lisa Rinna]

So Amelia was like six months old. And I did the pilot for Soap Talk. And then I worked throughout that, but I only worked a couple days a week, so I could do both. And Harry really did stay home during that time. He stayed home for 20 years.

[Morgan Stewart]

So you were right with your instincts. You knew Harry was gonna be a great dad.

[Lisa Rinna]

That's where I was really instinctually, right on the money, I have to say.

[Morgan Stewart]

I mean, after looking at his birthday and obviously I've seen Harry, like on film and I've seen him on the shows, and you can genuinely tell what a cool, calm and collected guy he is.

[Lisa Rinna]

Yeah, he's a good man. He's a good.

[Morgan Stewart]

And he reminds me so much of my dad. And then I found out he has the same birthday. Isn't that crazy? And the way. How crazy is that? My parents dynamic. My mom's Capricorn, also very compatible. With Scorpio. But it clicked in for me, and I was like, oh, yeah, this is, like, a good person. And, like is definitely, like, will be there for you if tides turn.

[Lisa Rinna]

Totally. He's a good man.

[Morgan Stewart]

Yeah. And he's been a great dad to the girls, which is the most important thing.

[Lisa Rinna]

Amazing. You know, he has a son who's 46.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay. What is his son's name? I feel like I know.

[Lisa Rinna]

Dimitri.

[Morgan Stewart]

Dimitri.

And that is with his first wife,

And also the funniest thing is my dad was also married two times before my mom. It's something about that.

There's something about that age and that, like, birth date or something. But I was like, there's so many similarities. Okay.

[Lisa Rinna]

Yes. So he had Demetri when he was 28.

[Morgan Stewart]

A baby. A baby. A baby.

[Lisa Rinna]

And he had Demetri with Ursula Andress, who was a big, big, big star at the time.

[Morgan Stewart]

Wait, I did not know. First of all, Ursula. My mom's Swiss, so Ursula is, like,

[Lisa Rinna]

one of the biggest stars in the world, one of the most beautiful women ever on the planet. He did not know. And Ursula made Dimitri. He's so gorgeous. You cannot. You cannot believe it. You cannot believe it. Very private has wanted to stay out of the spotlight.

Which you. You respect. But Harry was not able to be there with him because he and Ursula split up.

[Morgan Stewart]

Of course. Understandable.

[Lisa Rinna]

And so by the time he had the girls, he said, I'm going to be there for them, and I'm gonna stay home because of what I was not able to do for Demetri. Right. So those girls, they got a good

[Morgan Stewart]

dad out of the situation.

[Lisa Rinna]

They got a really good dad. You know, things happen out of not the greatest situations, then something great happens. So they really got the best of him.

[Morgan Stewart]

Yeah. That's so special.

[Lisa Rinna]

Yeah.

[Morgan Stewart]

I also am so curious, as you're talking to me, about your journey through, like, you're working. Have you had the same agent the whole time?

[Lisa Rinna]

No.

[Morgan Stewart]

I feel like you seem like somebody that sticks with her people. Yeah.

[Lisa Rinna]

I'm loyal. If you're good.

[Morgan Stewart]

That talk about that. That's a very poignant thing to say that a lot of people don't actually focus on.

[Lisa Rinna]

You only leave people if it's not working or there's some weird relationship thing that's going on that you don't feel right about or safe. Otherwise, why would you ever leave?

[Morgan Stewart]

Right.

[Lisa Rinna]

So you have to. It's very difficult to know when to leave somebody, but everyone does It. Everyone goes through it. You grow away, grow apart from people. You know, if you're. You know, if you're able to have the people in your life for a long period of time, I think it's great.

[Morgan Stewart]

Yep.

[Lisa Rinna]

But I think in the business, it's not. It's not. Doesn't happen a lot.

[Morgan Stewart]

No. And I also feel like in this business, people are so selfish. And if you're not like the hot thing, people get really lazy. And you. But you are a hustler. You have made your own path. I. It seems that way, at least.

[Lisa Rinna]

Of course. I mean, listen, I have always known, you know, I didn't come into this business. I'm not a Nepo baby. My parents weren't in. Nobody was in the business.

[Morgan Stewart]

Right.

[Lisa Rinna]

I had to do it all on my own. I didn't have a little lever that I could pull or anything. And I just have always hustled because I know that it's not handed to me. Now. Harry, on the other hand, had a career where he'll tell you stories. Everything was just delivered to him on a silver platter.

[Morgan Stewart]

Why does he. I don't know if Harry comes from. Is he a Nepo baby?

[Lisa Rinna]

No. But he was so gorgeous.

[Morgan Stewart]

Gorgeous. He was just gorgeous. Gorgeous. No, I feel talented. If you're a gorgeous man, two people really can't handle it. I mean, because they're far and few. Between women, there's so many beautiful women. And women can do so much. Right. We have makeup, we have plastic surgery, we have diets, we have liquids and, you know. But men, he was just gorgeous just to look like. And I'm also thinking you also kind of look like Harry. I know. Do you guys look the same?

[Lisa Rinna]

I mean, not really when you see us next to each other. But there's similarities. Cause we're narcissists. First we're gonna pick somebody that looks like us.

Ten years ago. Ten years ago. Cause he died six years. He was six years older, and he died six years before my mom. Lots of numbers.

Has Lois come through?

Oh, she helped us. The medium helped us as Lois was passing. Oh, yeah. I have chills. It was so remarkable. So I talk to her to this day. Her name's Netta. And I talk to her all the time. She's just in my life now. Cause she has become this angel to the girl she met the girls before she met me. And so when my mom was passing, she just, like, came into our lives through Delilah and Amelia. Oh, yeah. So she's in our lives? Yes. Forever. Oh, yeah.

Oh, my God. That is. But there's something soulmate y about the fact that unexpectedly, Lois passes six, like, ten years after her husband. Six years after. Six years after. He's six years old now.

Same age.

And the same age.

Same age. That's what's really.

And we would just be like, yeah. So she wasn't exactly who she was, but it didn't matter because she was positive, not negative, and she was around,

and obviously you got to have that time with her.

Yeah, it's really special.

Another thing that I also like when we were doing our research is that I wanted to obviously get into housewives. Lightly.

Well, yes. You know, here's what happened. If my mom hadn't died, I would probably still be on that show today. Oh, okay.

Tell me, is that because of the dream? Do you know what I'm talking about?

[Lisa Rinna]

Yes, but I would have. Cause I'm such a worker bee, I'd have just adapted and just made it work.

Okay, so just for context, guys. So when I was doing research on Lisa, I read that you had a dream that after she had passed and Lois came to you in a dream and basically told you to no longer proceed with the show.

[Lisa Rinna]

She said, it's time to go.

[Morgan Stewart]

It's time to go.

She said, it's time to go.

Do you vividly remember that dream?

[Lisa Rinna]

Oh, God, yeah.

What happened in that dream? Where were you? What happened?

[Lisa Rinna]

I was in my living room.

Oh, it was at your house.

[Lisa Rinna]

At my house. And she just came in and she said, it's time for you to leave the show.

That was it. You know, that's a visitation from her also. That really did happen in another universe.

[Lisa Rinna]

Yes, it did happen.

I've got chills. I know.

And I hear it. I heard it more than I saw it. Which is really interesting if I think about it. I hear it more than I actually visually see it. But hearing it was so real.

How long ago after. How long after had she had passed?

[Lisa Rinna]

I would say about two months. It was relatively right after.

Had you already been contemplating not doing the show?

[Lisa Rinna]

No.

[Morgan Stewart]

No. You okay? Let's unpack all this?

[Lisa Rinna]

No, it just was painful. I was in a very painful position. My mom died three days later. I went to work. No, Lisa. And I should never, ever have done it. Listen, it's my own fault. I should have said, you know what? I have to take some time. I cannot come right back to work. But there was a trip to Mexico, and they needed me.

[Morgan Stewart]

And you never.

[Lisa Rinna]

You think they needed me?

[Morgan Stewart]

You've also never not done that. Right. Like, you're always like, the work needs to be done.

[Lisa Rinna]

I know. I have a contract. You have to go to work or they'll sue you. Like, that's what goes on in my brain. And I knew that they were in a situation that they needed me, and.

[Morgan Stewart]

Oh, man. They needed you for. Just to kind of carry these scenes. Yeah. Yeah.

[Lisa Rinna]

Like, I knew the pressure that was being put on me. They needed me for that show, and so I did it. And it was a big mistake. I should have taken a year off. Not that anybody can say, oh, I'm gonna go take a year off. But in hindsight, I should have taken a break.

[Morgan Stewart]

So your mom dies, you go back to Housewives three days later, which is.

[Lisa Rinna]

I don't even. I'm in shock.

[Morgan Stewart]

I mean, you're literally not even on the planet.

No.

You're, like, completely somewhere else.

[Lisa Rinna]

I'm just out of it.

[Morgan Stewart]

You do that. How long did you continue to work until.

[Lisa Rinna]

Well, the show shoots for four months, so. I shot for four months. No, no.

No.

[Lisa Rinna]

Yeah. It was really until I cracked. I mean, there's a moment on the show where you see me completely crack. And you know what's really interesting, and I think what I really learned from the whole experience. Grief is very painful for anybody to watch because we all grieve. Nobody really knows how it's painful. So I think that I really represented everyone else's grief that was watching the show. Even the girls, even the women there. And it's too fucking painful. You don't wanna deal with it. And I think that that's what drove the audience to be like, you know what? I don't like her anymore. I've had it with her. She pisses me off. She's the devil. She's evil. I believe it started. That's my feeling, because I represented pure grief and no one knew what to do with it. And I understand that now. I really do.

[Morgan Stewart]

Did the producers ever say something to you about that?

[Lisa Rinna]

No.

[Morgan Stewart]

No, of course not. Okay, good. I just wanted to make sure.

[Lisa Rinna]

No, no, no, no, no.

[Morgan Stewart]

I don't. And then okay, so you finished that, and then you were like, it's time for me to go. Once you got the dream, you were

[Lisa Rinna]

like, all right, well, the show, you film it and then they don't air it for a couple months. It's when the show aired. After the show aired. And the reunion is when I knew I had to go. I didn't quite know here yet, even though my mom had come to me and said, you need to leave. It was after the airing of the show, which was really, really quite painful.

[Morgan Stewart]

That was a hard time for you?

Oh, yeah.

[Morgan Stewart]

You felt like people were not being supportive in any capacity towards the side?

[Lisa Rinna]

Oh, no, no, no, no. Not at all. None. None.

Even the girls?

[Lisa Rinna]

Even the girls. Except for Erica, really, about Erica being supportive.

[Morgan Stewart]

And I ask you this from a place that really doesn't know the details about any of this. So I just wasn't. So when you left, you felt like that? No regrets, you were happy?

[Lisa Rinna]

No regrets. I've never looked back. I've never thought, oh, shoot, I. I wish I could go back. Or, no, no, no, no.

[Morgan Stewart]

Never. Once.

[Lisa Rinna]

Once I said, you know what? I'm gonna go. I have to go now. And listen, it was mutual. No one was begging me to stay. No one was like, you can't leave.

But do you feel like, okay, well, I. First of all, I've obviously filmed a reality show, and, you know, people, like, it is obviously real, but there are setups, there are things that you need to do, there are places you need to go, there's conversations you need to have.

[Lisa Rinna]

Yes, yes.

And I do think, as an actress by trade and as somebody that has always delivered, had to work for her herself, you do take on that sense of pressure that you wanna do a good job. And do you ever feel like, well, I had to do all of this to sustain a lot of a big part of this show, let's say. And then I kind of got the shit end of the stick at the

end of that, of course. But, you know, everyone does. That's the game.

[Morgan Stewart]

That's the fucking game. See, that's the fucking game. That's the game.

Like, you know, you're riding high for a long time, and then you know that the shoe's going to drop. It drops for everyone.

I didn't take it personally as much as I could have, because I knew sooner or later it was coming.

But eight seasons is a good fucking run. Usually it happens. Season three, it happened then, too.

I was like, you know, we're gonna start doing things. We're just gonna get out, because traveling, we get out.

In real time, they. Nobody would have clocked him as a traitor because they were so mesmerized by him. I would just sit back and watch it and be like, those fools. They are fools.

So you obviously knew.

Well, of course I knew. Cause we were all traitors together in the turret. But, you know, he's 26.

He was 26. He's 27 now.

So he's a baby, so he could be my son, literally. So we had that kind of relationship, I think.

Okay, how Long does Traitors film for? How did you even get involved? How did that come.

[Lisa Rinna]

About three weeks?

[Morgan Stewart]

Oh, not long.

[Lisa Rinna]

No. But it's the most intense three weeks of your life.

[Morgan Stewart]

Okay, let's take us behind the scenes.

[Lisa Rinna]

Everyone's like, I can't take you back much. But what I would say is I certainly didn't want to do another reality show for a while. And they came to me and they offered it to me and I was

[Morgan Stewart]

like, this is a while, though, since Housewives. Like, there's been.

[Lisa Rinna]

Yes, it was been. It had been at least two years since Housewives.

[Morgan Stewart]

Cause 20, 22. You stopped Housewives. Yeah. Jesus. That doesn't feel like that long ago.

[Lisa Rinna]

But it was so, like three years.

[Morgan Stewart]

Yeah.

[Lisa Rinna]

After Housewives. And they came to me in September, so it was really early. I was the first one they came to that season, I guess, from what they said. And I was like, I don't know. I don't know. I gotta watch this show. I'm not sure. I hadn't watched it yet. So I watched it and I thought, well, I really like watching it, but I don't wanna do it. It's great to watch, but I don't wanna do it. So I didn't really say yes until the following March.

[Morgan Stewart]

Why didn't you wanna do it? You were just like, this is too much.

[Lisa Rinna]

Yeah, I didn't wanna do reality fair. It was peacock.

[Morgan Stewart]

Yeah. You weren't sure.

[Lisa Rinna]

And I had one of the girl's friends, her name's Sydney Boe. She lives down the street from us, and she was a huge Traders fan. And she's the one who talked me into doing it. I swear to God, my agents, everybody wanted me to do it. Everybody was like, you gotta do this. Gotta do it. It's gonna be so good for you. And they would lay out the reasons why, and da, da, da. And I was like, I don't know, I don't know. And they were really pushing for a good six months.

[Morgan Stewart]

Six months? You said no for six months?

[Lisa Rinna]

Yeah, I think it was six months. I said no. And finally they said, you have to give us an answer now.

[Morgan Stewart]

I was like, yep.

[Lisa Rinna]

I'd never waited so long. I'm always. I always just say yes right away. I very rarely say no. And this was like, wow, I'm really taking my time here. So anyway, Sidney Botko talked me into it because she told me it was like the game Mafia. Okay. And I played Mafia. I love Mafia.

[Morgan Stewart]

Yeah, of course.

[Lisa Rinna]

And I was like, oh. She just explained it to me and she made it seem not so weird and scary. And I thought, okay, why not? I'm gonna do it. Okay, why not? And I just pulled the trigger and did it.

[Morgan Stewart]

And you had the best time.

[Lisa Rinna]

I had the best time.

[Morgan Stewart]

And you basically filmed 24 hours a day.

[Lisa Rinna]

It was really hard.

[Morgan Stewart]

You were tired.

[Lisa Rinna]

It's really hard. You really film so much, and, you know, they take away all of your stuff. So you don't have a phone. You don't have anything.

[Morgan Stewart]

So you did not speak to your family for three weeks.

[Lisa Rinna]

You do speak to them, but maybe once a week, it's a planned call. And it's very hard. Cause you're taken out of your world completely.

[Morgan Stewart]

And you're completely.

[Lisa Rinna]

And you're put into another world. That, for me, was difficult.

[Morgan Stewart]

I would imagine so.

[Lisa Rinna]

But I love not having my phone.

[Morgan Stewart]

It's not. I loved it. You don't seem like somebody who's on their phone a lot. Are you.

[Lisa Rinna]

I mean, I'm on it more than you'd think, probably, and more than I thought until I didn't have it. And I was like, hallelujah, goodbye, praise Jesus. I don't. I had no responsibility.

[Morgan Stewart]

I loved it.

[Lisa Rinna]

I really did. Yeah.

[Morgan Stewart]

But are you on your phone, like, on apps or, like, what do you.

[Lisa Rinna]

No.

[Morgan Stewart]

You're just, like, constantly working from your phone.

[Lisa Rinna]

I would work. It's work. It's not fun on my phone.

[Morgan Stewart]

It's work. That's the problem. I think we're all so, like, addicted because we literally do every single thing from this.

[Lisa Rinna]

That's it.

So when you don't have it, you're so much freer.

[Morgan Stewart]

Yeah. And it's kind of like when your phone dies. Like, when you don't have it, you're on vacation, your phone dies.

[Lisa Rinna]

I just can't deal with you. You're like, I can't deal with you. I loved that part of it. And I think it's really smart that they do that, because then you're just focusing on the game. Because it's a game.

[Morgan Stewart]

Did you get, like. Were you in your head a little bit? Were you like, this is, like, difficult? Well, yeah.

[Lisa Rinna]

Cause I'm a traitor, and I'm lying to everyone.

[Morgan Stewart]

Right.

[Lisa Rinna]

I'm lying to everyone 24 7. I think that is what takes its toll. At least it did on me.

Do they not have, like, psychologists to the side that you can see?

[Lisa Rinna]

Oh, yeah, they do.

Oh, you have to.

I would imagine. Did you check in with one where you, like, look, I'm losing it.

[Lisa Rinna]

They make you. Oh, really? They come in and check in with you every time you have a day off. Oh, yeah. This show is handled so well.

You are supported in this show.

Okay.

Because I think they realize what they are having you do. Now. Not all shows are supportive, as you know. I do know this is very supported, and that made it really, really good. I loved it. It was fun. And it's a game, so it doesn't feel like life or death. It's a game. So that is the part that I enjoyed the most. But I will say it's hard being a traitor because you are lying to people that you're getting close to people.

That gets tricky, right? Where you're like, I really like you. But then you also. But did you ever have a moment throughout that where you were like, I'm gonna crack and tell this person.

[Lisa Rinna]

No.

You're not gonna tell. No. And they have to do it that way. They have to do it that way so that the game is played the way it needs to be played. But I'll never forget one of my last moments there, because I'd gotten close with Dorinda, who I didn't know really, before.

No, I'd met her, but I did not know her. So I'm in the car with her and I'm just lying my fucking ass off. And it was starting to be like, oh, my God. You know, this is so horrible, right? Like, I didn't have a hard time in the beginning. I was fine lying.

Cause you're like, I don't know these people. It doesn't matter. Not really.

[Lisa Rinna]

And so I'm lying away. But the more you get close to them and the more you have to lie to them. And I remember talking to Rob. Cause he obviously won and went to the end and he said I started to crack. He said, I started to crack. Cause it is so hard to lie to someone like Mara. To lie to these people that are so trusting. And like, Dorinda, I knew, thought I was a faithful and that she would never believe that I would be a traitor. So that kind of thing does start to get you.

Do you guys still talk now?

[Lisa Rinna]

Oh, yeah. Yeah.

Okay. So obviously all is forgiven after the fact. Because it is a game. What are you gonna do?

[Lisa Rinna]

It's a game. It's a game. And you have to look at it like that you do otherwise. I mean, that's the name of the game.

And that's why I was never mad at Rob. Because the name of the game is called Traitors Traders. And if you're gonna win, you have to do what he did.

I have to say lastly on Traders, like, obviously they enlisted you to be a traitor because you're a professional, you can handle it. That to me is from an outsider to choose. Rob is a little risky. Cause he's kind of new in this world. Like you never know.

[Lisa Rinna]

But they do so much homework on you and talking to you and psychological testing and such that it's crazy. They know who's capable and who's not. They do.

[Morgan Stewart]

And you were like, I delivered. You wanted me to be one. And I knew.

[Lisa Rinna]

Well, I did know. Cause I do know how to make good tv.

[Morgan Stewart]

I think that's for damn sure.

[Lisa Rinna]

And I will say I saw Candace the other day and I do believe that Candace and I would have gone to the very end if it hadn't been for Rob. Because we were in it together. We were in it together. And we would have taken Rob with us to the very end. That is for sure. We would have. We would have gone to the very end.

Okay, Traitors is done. What is Lisa Rinna's like goals now? Like, what are you focused? What's your happy? What do you want to do? You've done everything. You've written a book, you've been on a million shows, tv, reality, I mean all of it.

I love acting and I'm getting back to it and I want to do a series. I think a series would be fun.

We're gonna say movie or directing.

Like a great eight part series, limited series. I've been doing some cameos in movies and I've never done movies before, so that's really been cool. And I have one that I'm gonna be doing that I can't talk about. Oh, I can't. I know. But I have it. So I love that. And so now I'd love to do a series because I love having that moment where you're working with everybody and you get close to people. I like that camaraderie and I'm ready for that. As long as it doesn't interfere too much with the fashion. Cause I love to be able to go do my fashion.

stop, you know, and to be beautiful and consistent and on time. I was saying to Lisa before we started officially, and I will wrap after. But, like, you clearly did such an amazing job because the way your girls are handling their. I mean, massive.

And to handle that and you don't. There's no weird press. They're not out. They're not seeking attention outside of their jobs. These are hardworking girls.

And it's crazy great. And it's so exciting. You know, she's singing and she wants. She loves to sing, even though the modeling's great for her and she's making tons of money, which is amazing. But her passion is singing.

Honestly, I'm surprised.

I am. Honestly, I am surprised that Emelia has gotten herself to being one of the top models in the world.
