Eastern Chinese Medicine uses energy meridians in the body when doing acupuncture, and even the teeth have connections to those energy meridians. The canines, called "eye teeth" are ironically connected to the eyes. The premolars are the #1 tooth to be extracted for crowding or malocclusion, and the connecting organs are the lungs and the large intestines. We found this fascinating since in a big picture view people with premolar extractions tend to have smaller airways due to tongue space and also gi issues such as constipation or diarrhea.
