Foreign.
Dusty Slay
Hello, folks. And hey, Bear. We're back. I'm Dusty Slay. Welcome to the Nateland Podcast. I'm Dusty Slay. This is Brian Bates.
Aaron Weber
All right.
Dusty Slay
This is Aaron Weber.
Aaron Weber
And I'm Dusty Slay.
Dusty Slay
Nate will be joining us soon. Yep. And I'm Dusty Slay. And this is the Nate Land Podcast.
Brian Bates
We're excited to be here.
Dusty Slay
That sounds fun. That was a. I like a jumbled intro.
Aaron Weber
I used to always do those guys on espn. I used to love the way they signed out when they did little segments, you know. I'm Jeremy Shat.
Dusty Slay
Oh, yeah. ESPN promos.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Back when ESPN was good.
Brian Bates
Watch any ESPN shows now besides Sports Center?
Aaron Weber
I will occasionally put on Sports center after a big game or something if I want to just hear him talk about it or see the highlights. But not like I used to ESPN.
Dusty Slay
I used to listen to ESPN radio on SiriusXM all day.
Aaron Weber
Mike and Mike.
Dusty Slay
When I sold pesticides, it was Mike and Mike in the morning. Colin Cow Herd, then Scott Van Pelt, then I'm blanking on the last guy. But if you. If I was working a long shift, I could hit all of those throughout the day. And it was great.
Aaron Weber
Yeah. Back in the day, I remember college. I mean, I had. The ESPN logo was burned in on our tv.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Because we would just leave it on ESPN all day. And I don't think kids are doing that anymore. I don't think people.
Dusty Slay
I mean, when I was a kid, you could get SportsCenter be just highlights. I mean, they would just play SportsCenter after Sports center after SportsCenter.
Aaron Weber
And I think a lot of it is. I remember I used to wait for the top 10. The top 10 was so cool. Now it's. I see every play on Twitter.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Like, I don't need to see it compiled in a list.
Brian Bates
I guess that's true. I still watch the interruption.
Aaron Weber
PTI is great.
Brian Bates
I record it. It's just a nice 30 minute quick summary of stuff that.
Aaron Weber
Right.
Brian Bates
You know, I mean, I know about.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Brian Bates
And those guys are my age, so it works out great.
Dusty Slay
All right, well, this is going to be a hot episode and we're. Let's talk about some places that we've been this week, though. Everybody had exciting weekends.
Brian Bates
Yeah. I was in Florida Thursday. I was at Laugh Out Lounge in Winter Haven, Florida.
Aaron Weber
You flew down there, though, right?
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Brian Bates
You know, this easier to drive. I know. I embraced it, but it's getting a little old.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
But you do need to know Brian does have real shows all over the country and sometimes he has to fly.
Brian Bates
We're all professional working to another level, Aaron.
Aaron Weber
What do you mean?
Brian Bates
I mean, I thought they thought I had real shows that I just had to drive to. And know you're saying just to make sure he does have real shows.
Aaron Weber
That's the last time I try to back you up.
Dusty Slay
Brian hates compliments.
Brian Bates
No one was out there, was saying I didn't have real shows.
Aaron Weber
I. I know, I know, but I do. Yeah. Oh, totally.
Brian Bates
Yeah. And it was great time. Laugh Out Lounge. A lot of folks came.
Dusty Slay
I like the idea Laugh Out Lounge because Laugh Out Loud says, hey, I'm laughing, you know, And. And you can hear it because it's out loud. Laugh Out Lounge. It's like, what does that mean?
Brian Bates
Yeah. No one knows what's a lounge. Yeah, you go laugh.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
San Antonio, the club is Laugh Out Loud.
Dusty Slay
Yeah, Laugh Out Loud. Right, Exactly.
Aaron Weber
That kind of stuff. Laugh Out Lounge is going to be a little more laid back, a little casual. It's just a play.
Dusty Slay
You laugh out, but not loud.
Aaron Weber
No, no, don't laugh in.
Brian Bates
And then Friday, I was. Stayed in Winter Haven, did a Valentine's banquet at Heartland. Heartland Church.
Aaron Weber
Okay.
Brian Bates
It was a great time. About 400 people there.
Aaron Weber
Wow.
Brian Bates
Nice little turnout.
Dusty Slay
All right.
Brian Bates
And then Saturday, I drove over to Cocoa, Florida and did not.
Dusty Slay
Cocoa beach.
Brian Bates
Didn't. Well, I actually went to Cocoa beach after the show. Okay.
Aaron Weber
But the show in Coco, just outside of Orlando, right?
Brian Bates
Yep.
Aaron Weber
Okay.
Brian Bates
Yep. And did a laugh all night from 6 to 7pm and at lineage Church, a lot of folks came out. Our friend Christy Johnson, okay. Came to the show and we mentioned her almost every week now, but. But she and her friends were in town for the Daytona 500 and they came to my show.
Dusty Slay
That's awesome, man.
Brian Bates
So that's awesome. It was a great time. The weather was so nice in Florida.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Brian Bates
Had a great time.
Aaron Weber
Good deal, man.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
I was in Bloomington, Indiana. The weather was not beautiful. It was cold, snowy. We almost, almost got snowed in the last day. Woke up, there's about six inches of snow.
Dusty Slay
Wow.
Aaron Weber
I mean, I didn't measure it, but it felt like a lot of snow. And it was a lot to get out of there. But did you drive? I did drive. Yeah. Yeah. Four shows at the Comedy Attic. What a club. It's one of those clubs you hear about when you start. Comics will talk about how good it is and I just never have gotten to work it. But did four shows there. One of them sold out, the other three were packed and they were just Great shows. Jay Flake was with me. Madelono Martin did the shows. A guy named Ethan did the shows Saturday. You know, it's a good club.
Dusty Slay
I did those club. I did that club during COVID You remember Covid?
Aaron Weber
I do remember, vaguely. I did.
Dusty Slay
I did that club that time. During that time.
Aaron Weber
Yeah, yeah.
Dusty Slay
It was fun, though. I had a good time.
Aaron Weber
Well, it was one of those. Just a good weekend, you know, you're waiting on the bad show and then the bad show never comes. And that's a good feeling. Usually it's like if you have a hot show, I go, the late show is going to be brutal.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Just law of averages. But they were all good. So you know that feeling when you get the check at the end of the weekend, it's a little bit higher than you thought it might be.
Brian Bates
And you're like, no, I know the opposite.
Aaron Weber
It was just a good feel. I just tell myself, I'm getting the guarantee. And then anything else is a fun surprise. So I was like, oh. So I go, let's celebrate. So me and Jay went. It's like 12:30 at night, 1am we go to an IHOP in Bloomington.
Dusty Slay
All right. That's how I ball out these days, big time.
Aaron Weber
And I get. Jay, get whatever you want.
Brian Bates
Boom. What do you get?
Aaron Weber
Get the sampler. Get whatever. So we have a good meal there. It's fine, Whatever.
Brian Bates
But he likes the flaky pancakes.
Aaron Weber
He. I bet he.
Dusty Slay
That's where he gets a name.
Aaron Weber
That's where he gets his name. Yeah, that's how names work.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
So I stepped outside for a second to make a phone call. Step outside. It's 12:30, almost 1 in the morning. All of a sudden, in the parking lot, jacked up pickup truck comes peeling in front of me to where I like, step back a little bit. I'm afraid it's gonna hop the curb.
Dusty Slay
And they were like, I want my jacket.
Aaron Weber
And then it goes back the other way. That's very funny, Dustin. It starts doing a donut in the parking lot, hops a curb, peels back around, tires squealing. It comes up and then it backs into a parking. I mean, crazy scene. It backs in this parking spot and I see the back of the truck is like this guy had just been in a wreck. The whole back of his truck is messed up. So I'm like, this guy's drunk. He's causing the scene. That's crazy. So I walk back into ihop. All the staff is in front of the window watching this, and they go did you see what happened? I go, yeah, the guy's doing donuts in the parking lot. I go, is that like a. Do y'all know him? And they go, yeah. So I'm thinking. My first thought is, this is the boyfriend or the husband of somebody that works there and is, like, being creepy and weird and sitting outside that hut. They go, no, he just started working here. He's one of our cooks. And I go, oh, real employee of the month, huh? And they go, we've been trying to get him fired for a while.
Dusty Slay
Oh, wow.
Aaron Weber
And we can't. And it said, the first day, he lifted up his shirt and showed the whole staff a tattoo on his chest that made everybody very uncomfortable. What was it say, a historical symbol from Europe and creeped everybody out. Evidently not grounds for termination.
Dusty Slay
Wow.
Aaron Weber
But they want this guy gone. So he's not working that night. He shows up drunk, doing donuts in the parking lot, and now he's just sitting in his truck right outside the ihop. So the whole staff is just waiting there for this guy to, like, come in and cause a scene.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
So Jay and I are right there. Like, we're ready to leave.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
So you go, let's just get out. I don't want anything to do with this. Right. So we start walking out. The guy gets out of his car, starts walking in a huff to the front door. So now I'm like, all right, we're in this now. So Jay and I are just standing. We're all just kind of standing there, right by the door. He comes up, and then. You ever see a drunk guy do that where they snap out of it kind. He, like, grabbed the door. He goes, after you, gentlemen. So we were like, all right, yeah, we were. I mean, we got out of there, dude. But he. He ran in, caused the scene. They gave him a cup of coffee just to get him to leave, and then he ran out. But anyway, the manager at one point talked to me and was like, can you please tell me what happened? And they go. And I told him. And they go, that's all we needed to hear. That's what we've been waiting on.
Brian Bates
So you didn't leave immediately?
Aaron Weber
Well, that was.
Dusty Slay
I talked to the manager between listener podcast.
Brian Bates
I thought you would say he was wearing a we're having a good time hat. Because everything leading up, I'm like, he.
Aaron Weber
Was a dusty show at Indianapolis last week. But no, it was just crazy. I mean, that's the kind of stuff people make fun of Waffle House for. But, like, IHOP Yeah. There are a million things going on.
Dusty Slay
So it's virtually impossible to get fired from IHOP is what you're saying.
Aaron Weber
Sounds like it. But it sounds like that was the IHOP.
Dusty Slay
Sounds like a. It sounds like a nightmare.
Aaron Weber
It sounds like there was probably like a 18 year old girl shadowing our server and you want to be like, just get out now. Yeah, you don't need this too.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
But it was good and everybody else was nice. It was just that one lunatic that works in the kitchen.
Dusty Slay
But he was nice in the end though, other than quite tattoos, but he was like gentlemen after you. I mean that's. That sounds nice.
Brian Bates
I mean a European tattoo, they're international so.
Aaron Weber
Yeah, that's right. You know what I'm talking.
Dusty Slay
He'd obviously been in a car accident.
Aaron Weber
You know, he had been in a car accident. I think it was probably his fault based on his behavior.
Dusty Slay
Like he got rear ended.
Brian Bates
Yeah. Does he's on this side?
Aaron Weber
No. This guy was a lunatic.
Dusty Slay
Sounds like a nightmare.
Aaron Weber
This guy's a lunatic. Yeah. And anyway it was just a funny, kind of exciting way to cap off.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
A fun weekend in Bloomington. So we got to see the comedy Attic all week and then we got to see real Indiana right at the end, you know.
Dusty Slay
Yeah. Bloomington's wild. It. It masquerades as a college town, but it's a wild city.
Aaron Weber
Masquerades. I don't know where. Where were you?
Dusty Slay
I was in California. I had two shows. Fresno, California, very fun. And then Sacramento, California, very fun. Fresno. I flew in a day early so I spent an extra day in Fresno and I enjoyed it. I stayed in what's called Clovis, California. Very nice California town. And Connor Larson went with me.
Aaron Weber
Oh, nice.
Dusty Slay
It was very fun. We, you know, we just drank coffee at a place called cup of Joy. Real Christian coffee spot.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Had two locations that we went to. One in Fresno, one in Clovis and it went to a thrift store, bought some stuff. It's really great.
Aaron Weber
The stools do they put too much coffee in every coffee cup. So every cup overflow.
Dusty Slay
So I don't get it. Oh, oh, oh. Joy overflowing with joy. Too much caffeine in there.
Aaron Weber
My cup overfloweth.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
You know what I mean?
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
It was great though. Very religious spot right there in the. I, you know, it's like for some.
Aaron Weber
Reason right in the middle of the belly of the beast, you just think.
Dusty Slay
About California and it really is just like. It's just a few cities. The rest of California is A very, like, you know, just regular people over there just having a good time and enjoying themselves. And I liked it. And I asked them, because when I was growing up in the 90s, we used to eat at Hardee's all the time. And I don't know if you guys remember this, but there was a Fresno burger that they used to have at Hardy's.
Aaron Weber
No.
Dusty Slay
A burger with sourdough bread.
Aaron Weber
Oh.
Dusty Slay
And I asked them at the show.
Aaron Weber
I remember that. I don't know why I was acting like I did.
Dusty Slay
I asked them, did they know about the Fresno burger? And they said, no. And I said, did you guys know that in Alabama, that's what we were eating? And I said, I got out here, and I was looking for a Fresno burger.
Brian Bates
Well, out there, it's Carl Juniors, right?
Dusty Slay
Yeah. But, you know, nobody seems to know about it. So I was like. I said, I didn't even know that we were doing that. They didn't even know that we were eating those burgers.
Brian Bates
Yeah, well, maybe out there, they were eating the opelika sandwich or something.
Dusty Slay
I mean, that'd be amazing. Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
So what.
Aaron Weber
What makes it a Fresno sandwich?
Dusty Slay
I think it was the sourdough bread. Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Are they known for sourdough bread in Fresno?
Dusty Slay
Maybe. Maybe San Francisco is. And that's close enough, I think. I don't know.
Aaron Weber
You don't want to eat a San Francisco burger.
Dusty Slay
Yeah. Yeah, but. And then they had a stool on the stage, which was a little concave. So my. My water bottles had to hug each other, really. To stay. Stay afloat.
Aaron Weber
Concave. Like a. Like a fat guy sat in it.
Dusty Slay
Yeah. Like he. Yeah. So I told everybody that you've been to Fresno. I'm gonna tell.
Aaron Weber
I'm not doing theaters.
Dusty Slay
I told him that. I'm gonna say that that's the Fresno stool. That. That's what they. Anytime you. I go, I go. Yeah. You see this stool here in Fresno, they make them like this.
Aaron Weber
Oh, that's fun.
Dusty Slay
Dip in it. Yeah. In case you like sitting in the stool and pee your pants a little bit. It'll keep it in the stool.
Aaron Weber
That's what happens if you eat too many Fresno burgers.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Your stool will look like that.
Dusty Slay
Yeah. So that's great, though. And Sacramento was really great, too. I loved it. I stopped in Modesto, stopped at a place called the Sandwich Shop. Had a Reuben there.
Aaron Weber
Not good.
Dusty Slay
Loved it.
Aaron Weber
Oh, okay.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
You know, the airport's fat in Fresno. Did you fly into fat?
Dusty Slay
I did fly into fat.
Aaron Weber
That's pretty good.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
I Like, that fat was cool.
Dusty Slay
They had a lot of redwood models of redwood set up in the airport. So I was walking through.
Brian Bates
That's the town or the airport's called.
Aaron Weber
Airport's called Fat. That's the, like the three letter abbreviation. Fresno, whatever.
Nate Bargetzi
Airport.
Aaron Weber
Yeah. But I think when you. If you go to Yosemite, that's the one that a lot of people fly into. So there's a lot of outdoor stuff there. That's awesome, man.
Dusty Slay
It was great. I loved it.
Brian Bates
That's great.
Dusty Slay
I had a lot of fun. I love going to new places that I've never been to.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Sacramento seems like there's a bit of a. Well, both seem like there's a bit of a homeless situation going on them, but doesn't bother me.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah.
Brian Bates
I was near Cape Canavel and I.
Dusty Slay
Did make the joke. Sorry. The shows weren't sold out. And I made the joke. I go, I guess people thought the show was sold out. I drove by here earlier and people were camping out.
Aaron Weber
Oh, that's.
Brian Bates
That's pretty funny.
Dusty Slay
It's a good job. Yeah, it went well.
Brian Bates
All right, we want to get in these comments.
Aaron Weber
There are so many other cities you.
Dusty Slay
Could use that joke, you know, almost everyone.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Because in Sacramento, there was a bit of a situation in the alley. Like, there was like a wheelchair and an old bed was laying out there and blocked the road. You picked up both, so I couldn't get through. Well, if I had my truck, I would have. And the. Who could not use an extra wheelchair and.
Brian Bates
Or an old bed.
Dusty Slay
Yeah. And the guy goes, oh, good first impression of Sacramento, huh? And I go, listen, every city's like this now. Okay. Don't even let it bother you.
Brian Bates
Well, you got a new joke now. You just got to never sell out shows. And you can always use that.
Dusty Slay
Yeah, yeah.
Aaron Weber
I love what people do, you know, like a very routine thing happens in a city. I was like, oh, it's cold this morning. Now it's warm. Welcome to Omaha. And you're like, okay.
Dusty Slay
That is a saying that people say in every city in the country. They go. We call it, you know, Omaha winners. You, you know, you blink and it'll.
Brian Bates
Well, they'll say like that.
Dusty Slay
Right?
Brian Bates
Like only in Nashville.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Like.
Brian Bates
No, that happens everywhere.
Aaron Weber
That's classic Nashville. It's going to be a different temperature, different time of the day.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
That's how we do it down here.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
What is the expression, though? They go.
Aaron Weber
They go, if you don't like Nashville weather, wait an hour.
Dusty Slay
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, exactly. If you don't like the weather, wait an hour, it'll change.
Brian Bates
Mm.
Aaron Weber
Yeah. That's how the.
Dusty Slay
You know, that's what everybody thinks.
Brian Bates
It's more than just weather. Even traffic.
Dusty Slay
Everybody. Traffic.
Brian Bates
Any crazy thing in the news. Well, homelessness, like. Yep. That's not. No, that's everywhere.
Dusty Slay
Connor was telling me about this guy he did a show with in a city and he said he picked that guy up at the airport and took him to the show and he said there was no issues whatsoever on the highway. And the guy gets on stage and he goes. He just goes, the traffic here.
Brian Bates
That'S so funny. And. But the thing is, they bought into it.
Nate Bargetzi
They loved it.
Brian Bates
They're like, yep, that's right.
Dusty Slay
This guy's crushing. He knows us.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
You write that today.
Aaron Weber
Gosh, we did what a John Chris shows. Every comic had a different bit about how we got into. So it was like the first guy was like, yeah, we drove in today. And next guy was like, man, we flew into your airport. And then it was like, there's a tour bus there. Like, we're all liars. Oh, yeah, we all lie anyway. Yeah, this is Aaron Weber speaking. Brian Bates
That's right.
Dusty Slay
Oh, somebody did bring me some gifts in Fresno. And for us? No, just for me. And then they brought a comment and I forgot it at home. Sorry about that, guys.
Brian Bates
Yeah, you didn't. True your end of the deal?
Dusty Slay
The Drury family, they're very nice couple.
Nate Bargetzi
Well, that's enough.
Dusty Slay
And they.
Brian Bates
They just want their name mentioned.
Dusty Slay
They brought a lot of stuff and we took a picture together and they brought like some nuts, some peanut butter, all homemade kind of stuff. I don't know if it was homemade, but it's local.
Aaron Weber
Okay.
Dusty Slay
And then some olive oil. It was great.
Aaron Weber
Yeah. Just household goods.
Dusty Slay
Yeah. They brought me tin foil, which is what I'm into. Yeah, Just toilet paper. Just bring some stuff.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
And they were very nice.
Aaron Weber
First comment comes from John McCain.
Brian Bates
Josh.
Aaron Weber
Josh McCain.
Dusty Slay
John McCain. Old comment.
Aaron Weber
He's back. Yeah. Aaron, since you're very proficient using the Internet, the. Thank you. I'm sure you're already aware of the Reddit community tv. Too high. They are fighting the good fight against our greatest epidemic. I am very familiar with this subred. I believe we've talked about it on the podcast before. It was definitely the genesis of my crusade against the TVs that are too.
Dusty Slay
Oh, this? You didn't start on your own?
Aaron Weber
I can't remember. I think I commented on it and then I found the subreddit after. But the subreddit is what drives. Drives it a lot of time. It's just a very active community on there. People making fun of each other's TV setups. It's good stuff. For some reason Reddit is banned or you can't go to Reddit on the Zany's WI fi. Isn't that weird? It's weird to have Reddit blocked off, but not any of these other sites.
Brian Bates
Dusty's website's blocked off.
Aaron Weber
Is it really?
Brian Bates
Or his YouTube channel last week.
Aaron Weber
Oh, yeah, you're on. It's your own restricted on this WI fi. A lot of your stuff's blocked off.
Brian Bates
As it should be.
Aaron Weber
A lot of the Nateland stuff too. Like a bunch of Nateland episodes are not available on the Zany's WI fi recorded in this building. And they're like, it's weird. We gotta restrict it. Megan Barnes. Hey, folks. I was on jeopardy. And won three games back in 2011.
Dusty Slay
Wow, that was an easy year.
Aaron Weber
The reason second and third place don't get the money they win is once a man went on to play to win enough for an engagement ring, and once he reached that number, he put his buzzer down and stopped playing. So now the own. Now only the winner keeps the money to make it more competitive. Now, second place gets 3,000, and third place gets 2,000 because they have to pay for their own hotel and travel accommodations, and that helps defray the cost. Interesting.
Brian Bates
It's very interesting.
Aaron Weber
Brought to you by a leave. Yeah, Leave sponsors.
Dusty Slay
One guy ruined it all just because he stopped playing. That's a story right there. To be like, this guy won enough for the engagement ring and that's all he wanted. Yeah, that's a good story.
Aaron Weber
I think so, too. Well, here we got some. Some footage of Megan Barnes on. On Jeopardy. Right there.
Brian Bates
All right, Megan. Yeah. Well, she said she won three. Three games back.
Aaron Weber
Three. I mean, that's a solid. Wow. She did well in those three days.
Brian Bates
I think she was on some other game shows, too, and I think that's a. Happens a lot.
Aaron Weber
$103,000 in three games is. You're putting in some work.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
She's doing a lot of true daily doubles there.
Dusty Slay
Yeah. Congrats to Megan and the United States government.
Aaron Weber
Yeah. That's awesome. Thank you. Thank you, Megan. Christy. Shock.
Dusty Slay
Shock.
Aaron Weber
My lifelong dream was to be a contestant on the Wheel of Fortune. Thirteen years ago, my husband and I competed together on a couple's episode during Valentine's week. We walked away with like $7,000,000. But I realized I wasn't even 40 and I had peaked. My dreams were realized in one fail swoop. I guess now I can only dream of being a guest podcaster on Nateland. Keep up the great work.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Good luck.
Dusty Slay
Christy, you go.
Aaron Weber
That's not happening. Ladies and gentlemen, now joining the studio, back from New York city at the SNL 50th anniversary show, put your hands together for Nate Var Getzy joining the podcast. How about that?
Nate Bargetzi
All right, all right, all right, we're doing it.
Aaron Weber
What's up, dude?
Nate Bargetzi
I've already wore this shirt. I didn't get a new shirt, so I put this one back on.
Brian Bates
You've already wore this in the podcast.
Nate Bargetzi
When I hosted the last. This is the shirt I got. Oh, sweater. I got.
Brian Bates
Gotcha.
Nate Bargetzi
And then. So. Yeah. Welcome back, welcome back.
Dusty Slay
All right.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Your voice gone a little bit. I mean.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah, yeah. The whole Week was good. Did you already do everything?
Aaron Weber
No, no, we just started the comments.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, really?
Aaron Weber
Yeah, we've done like two or three of them, so. Oh, you can hop into that. But I want to. I mean.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, well, let's hop in. Let's stay in the comments.
Aaron Weber
Okay.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Christy Schalk, who competed on Wheel of Fortune, it said her next dream is to be a guest podcaster on Nateland.
Brian Bates
Chris said, tough luck, Chrisy.
Dusty Slay
He's been on wheel of fortune 13 years ago. Not done much since then.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, yeah, that's a different thing. Yeah, like there's.
Dusty Slay
Try to get a few more credits, Christy, you know, try to do Jeopardy. Try to do.
Brian Bates
She has one more credit than I.
Dusty Slay
Family Feud.
Brian Bates
Chrissy, can I get on your podcast?
Nate Bargetzi
Does she have a podcast?
Dusty Slay
No, I'm just saying, probably that time I did Wheel of Fortune, I'd listen in. Me too, for a little bit.
Brian Bates
Somebody's jealous because they can only get on Hollywood Squares over here.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Okay.
Nate Bargetzi
Okay. Yeah, that is funny because that's like winning, I don't know, winning a contest and then just asking for a full time job.
Aaron Weber
Like.
Nate Bargetzi
Well, just let me be on. Yeah, well, yeah, we would like to hear it.
Brian Bates
Well, I think Chrissy's joking about.
Dusty Slay
I know that.
Nate Bargetzi
All right, you want me to keep.
Aaron Weber
Reading it or do you want to take over?
Nate Bargetzi
Let me read some so my voice can hopefully catch it.
Dusty Slay
Well, this.
Aaron Weber
I don't know if that's how it works.
Dusty Slay
We skipped the first one.
Aaron Weber
Oh, you're gonna. Oh, you're gonna warm it back up. Yeah, ease it back into it.
Dusty Slay
Okay, we skipped the first one, so if you want to start with that one.
Nate Bargetzi
Josh Teeter. I think I know that I was fortunate enough to win the Corn Fairies Tournament. Corn Fairies Tour Panama Championship. I enjoyed Aaron's signature disc on the shuttle ride to the course, which had to be what led to my 65 minus 5 round. Great job, Aaron. I am getting ready to order some new head covers for the new season. I want to ask you all mine if I use the Nateland podcast logo as one of them. Absolutely not.
Aaron Weber
Dude, dude, that's amazing.
Nate Bargetzi
Great. Yeah, Congratulations. Congrats here. Wow.
Aaron Weber
I met him. Is he live in Kentucky right now? I've met him a couple times.
Dusty Slay
Golf clubs.
Nate Bargetzi
Yep. Great guy. Wow. Yeah. He gets his card now. You'll see him in the pros.
Aaron Weber
Oh, man. With the Nateland. Nateland.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. We got our boy Augustine's in Corn Ferry. Corn Ferry is so tough because, I mean, these guys. Look at. I know that Kyle Westmoreland to the top. They just score so low. They go so low. And these courses, it's just insane. But, yeah, we would love that. That's awesome.
Aaron Weber
That's awesome.
Nate Bargetzi
Congratulations, man. 45 is 45 years old.
Brian Bates
Yeah. Maybe it's not too late for you to win the Corn Ferry.
Nate Bargetzi
That's true. I mean, that's. Yeah. The winning it.
Aaron Weber
I think it is for Nate.
Brian Bates
Yeah. I'm just trying to be nice.
Nate Bargetzi
If I get the right circumstances.
Brian Bates
Yeah. All right, then.
Nate Bargetzi
Jeff Mains Manus. Jeff Manus. In the late 80s, my dad was on Price is Right while we were in California. Oh, that's why she said the Wheel of Fortune. Because y'all did game shows. Yeah. I thought y'all didn't do a podcast in my honor last week. They said y'all still did it. Yeah, yeah.
Brian Bates
Some people said we didn't.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. In the late 80s, my dad was on the Price is Right while we were in California for vacation. He was a pastor at the time. He was the second person called down and never made it on stage. Bob Barker mocked him mercilessly as the show went on for his awful bidding. It's now a great memory turn into an amazing sermon illustration for him over the years.
Aaron Weber
Oh, that's fun.
Dusty Slay
Wow. How bad was the bidding? That's what I'd like to know. I mean, what was he doing?
Brian Bates
Two hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
What? I mean, how could you use that in a sermon? He's just bad at a game show, maybe.
Dusty Slay
Humility, perseverance.
Nate Bargetzi
Humility.
Dusty Slay
You made it there. You thought you, you know, you thought you were going to win something, then you didn't.
Nate Bargetzi
Not only the worst case scenario happens.
Dusty Slay
Not only do you not win, but you got humiliated.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
His wife left him, I'm guessing.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Bob Barker, it. Was he known to be mean?
Brian Bates
No, just funny. Jazz.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
I think by the end he was a. He was an old man. He could be a little short with people. Right? He's just over it.
Nate Bargetzi
This was late 80s.
Aaron Weber
Oh, late 80s. So he was.
Brian Bates
I think he was playful.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Brian Bates
Yeah. I bet it wasn't mean.
Nate Bargetzi
Maybe showed it in the sermon.
Brian Bates
Yeah, I bet they didn't. Well, they had a VHS copy.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, yeah. Yeah. It's fun.
Dusty Slay
Can you imagine asking for that? Hey, I'm the guy that didn't make it on stage. You matter if I get a copy of this trying to show it at church?
Brian Bates
I kind of feel sorry for the people who finally got their comment read by Aaron right before Nate walks in oh, yeah, got my comment around Nateland.
Aaron Weber
What did Nate say?
Brian Bates
Sorry.
Aaron Weber
Yeah, sorry, you just got us.
Brian Bates
Maybe you could just say their three names just so they.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, Josh McCain, Megan Barnes, and Christy Shock.
Aaron Weber
There you go.
Nate Bargetzi
Wait, why? Cuz he didn't say their names.
Brian Bates
No, I'm just saying they're be excited about you reading their name.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, they're like dumbo. Aaron.
Brian Bates
Who cares?
Nate Bargetzi
He said it better than my family says it. Amanda, I had a family member get picked for the prices, right? And she said you had to pay the sales tax on every prize you won, and you had a week to pay it or you didn't get the prize. So that's why you would see this same car a few times. If they couldn't come with the money that they kept that prize for another show.
Aaron Weber
Wow, that's crazy.
Nate Bargetzi
A week.
Dusty Slay
A week, yeah. That's a real shakedown. You got the money? You got the money or what? You're on a game show trying to win something. You got sales tax money. Come on, buddy.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, stuff. Yeah, because they. They. Do they? Yeah.
Aaron Weber
You go, one minute you're jumping up and down screaming, like an hour later you're like, on the phone with your wife. We gotta sell the house.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. You have $30,000.
Brian Bates
What do we do?
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, and because you need like, what, probably like 8 grand to get the car. Like, even if you're like, look, if I can get eight grand, I can get 25 grand.
Dusty Slay
Yeah, yeah, but probably still some kind of tax you got to pay for receiving the car for free.
Aaron Weber
Yeah. I wonder how that's done. Weekly. Maybe you'd have time to sell the car and then pay the. You know what I mean? You get it and then in that week, you sell.
Nate Bargetzi
Take a loan.
Dusty Slay
I went on the prices, right? And all I got was an errand and a.
Aaron Weber
And a loan. Had to take out a mortgage on my house. It's crazy.
Nate Bargetzi
Bryce Evans. I was on the Price is Right. You know Bryce?
Dusty Slay
I think so, Yeah. I think Bryce sells me hats.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, you buy a lot of hats?
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
They got a hat guy?
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Brian Bates
Is this the guy I just met?
Dusty Slay
I think so.
Brian Bates
Okay. I think I just met this guy.
Dusty Slay
He may spell his name with a Y, though, but it's still Bryce Evans.
Aaron Weber
I mean, is that him?
Dusty Slay
Yeah, maybe.
Aaron Weber
Okay.
Nate Bargetzi
We still don't know.
Dusty Slay
I never seen him acting like that.
Nate Bargetzi
I mean, I like that. We go. We go. We're not sure if that's his name spelled. And then we go, was this his face? And you go, maybe he's never acting.
Dusty Slay
Like that when I'm around that.
Brian Bates
It's a little different.
Aaron Weber
Let's read the comment first.
Nate Bargetzi
All right. I was on the prices. Right. So I have some insight on the wheel spin. I think there is a limiter mechanism inside. I jumped up with the wheel and brought it down with all my might. Old lady spun it before me and she got it around just as about as well. So they either slightly control it or have the strength of a 90 year old. Yeah.
Brian Bates
I couldn't find video of him spinning the wheel.
Dusty Slay
That is him.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
He's Jared on the game show. He's got Jared on his name tag, but he wrote in as Bryce Evans.
Brian Bates
I watched this video and it's behind the scenes. He says he. Aaron Paul gave him advice on how to get on there. Aaron Paul was a contestant. Price is Right back.
Aaron Weber
Way back in the day.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Brian Bates
And he gave him some tips on how to.
Dusty Slay
I don't know if that's him.
Brian Bates
Get on there.
Dusty Slay
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
That's crazy.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
That's awesome. Thank you, Bryce.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Wow. And look what it did for him.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. He got Breaking Bad out of that.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
He was in a Corn Pops commercial too. Do you remember that one? Gotta have My Pops.
Brian Bates
I don't.
Nate Bargetzi
I remember.
Aaron Weber
You don't.
Dusty Slay
Commercials.
Aaron Weber
Aaron Paul was in that.
Dusty Slay
Wow.
Aaron Weber
Maybe it was honeycomb. I don't know. He did a cereal commercial now he's doing well.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. I don't know if I could go that crazy. Yeah.
Brian Bates
We'd never get picked.
Nate Bargetzi
We would never get it wouldn't. Yeah. I'd feel very uncomfortable.
Aaron Weber
You don't think you would go that crazy?
Nate Bargetzi
No.
Aaron Weber
I'm trying to imagine you having that much emotion for.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. It's.
Aaron Weber
I don't know, dude, Casino Night. You're getting pretty into it, man. By the end there at the roulette.
Nate Bargetzi
Table that we got on a run there.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
And then.
Aaron Weber
Yeah. Well, this is the same. Same feeling, I bet.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. That was not real money, so.
Aaron Weber
But if it was real money, wouldn't that increase the.
Nate Bargetzi
I don't know. I think I would be. I don't think I could do it. But I mean, I guess if you just knew you. You had to be. Go crazy.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Garth Brooks behind him in the wide.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Looks a little better.
Nate Bargetzi
And then never got brought up. Jared Fogel on the left. You go. Good night. That was a funny SNL thing they showed.
Aaron Weber
Oh, yeah, yeah. We'll talk about that.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Glenn Blackwell. We know Glenn.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
As a Nashville realtor. I think Dusty's idea of the Rearranger show is brilliant. The show could join me at a listing appointment where Dusty helps my clients who don't want to spend money on staging get their house ready to list.
Dusty Slay
I'm into it.
Aaron Weber
So this is the TV show idea that Dusty has, Nate.
Dusty Slay
But I think my idea, though, is more for. I don't know, maybe this is the. But, like, I go into a messy house, I don't bring any tools. I mean, I can bring tools, but no shelving, and then I just rearrange your house and make it better.
Aaron Weber
And no expertise. Not just. Just gut feeling. Yeah.
Dusty Slay
I mean, I, you know, I'm a bit of an expert, I think.
Aaron Weber
Okay.
Dusty Slay
And I think it's a hot show. I mean, we went into it. My pitch was really last week.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. So I'll go back.
Dusty Slay
Yeah, it's a hot show. Yeah, I think it would be good.
Nate Bargetzi
Requires no buying of anything.
Dusty Slay
No, no buying. I just bring in some tools. I may need a screwdriver and a hammer and stuff like that. But, yeah, you just find some things. Usually you can. In a pretty messy house. Usually you can go, oh, if you just did this or this or this, then it starts to come together and people go, oh, this is nice. I could. You mean I could have did this the whole time? I'm like, well, yeah, if you had my eye, you know?
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah.
Dusty Slay
And a little motivation.
Brian Bates
Straight eye for the straight guy.
Dusty Slay
Yeah, exactly.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, exactly. Yeah, exactly.
Brian Bates
Dusty was on the Hollywood Squares this past week.
Dusty Slay
Oh, yeah, that is true.
Brian Bates
So I watched the episode down in. Was you and Tyra Banks.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Brian Bates
And then you had the 25,000. Is that planet or was that truly by chance?
Dusty Slay
Well, I mean, I don't know. I don't remember. It was months ago, but that answers my question. But it's like. But like, even. I mean, they had to put it in an envelope no matter what. So either, you know, it was planted by somebody.
Brian Bates
Okay.
Dusty Slay
It didn't. You know what I mean? Like, it wasn't. Like, nobody has it.
Brian Bates
Yeah. She had a one in nine chance, I think.
Dusty Slay
Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it feels good. You know, when I did Nashville Squares a while back, I also had one of the winning things taped in la. Yeah. And then I won, you know, after midnight and I won. Nice ones. Ron Funchester show. I mean, I'm on a roll. Game show.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Dusty Slay
Just want you guys to know.
Aaron Weber
Yeah, yeah, I hear you, Case.
Dusty Slay
You're getting a Family Feud and you're looking for a guy.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, yeah. It would be Good to have you. Just you one dusting. He goes. He's. He's a cousin outside the family. Yeah.
Brian Bates
Way outside.
Nate Bargetzi
Becca Fes. I love Family Feud and do not love Steve Harvey as the host. Wow. Wow. He's definitely funny. But I'm watching that game show. I want to see the actual game so many times. I'm saying, let it go and get back to the game. He keeps going on and on and on and on.
Dusty Slay
I could see that.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Brian Bates
But the game, it's still the same, right? They still. It's the same amount of time. They don't, like, lose out.
Nate Bargetzi
You don't. He does that. Pauses, though, like, he'll, like, something happens. He stops and he walks over there. And then. And if you're watching this, I get. If you are like, I love this game so much.
Aaron Weber
I just want to hear the answers.
Nate Bargetzi
I just want to hear the answers, and I want to go do it. It's got to be a show that. I mean, it's like a casino. If you're doing a. The. The slots, like, those people just want to. Want to boom, pull and go. And if it stopped and was like a video, they would be. You wouldn't even get my to play it, because they'd be annoyed.
Brian Bates
But my question is with the previous host that didn't linger as much. Were you seeing more games linger?
Aaron Weber
Yeah. Yeah. I don't. I don't know if I don't think you are. I guess there's the same amount of gameplay, so, I mean, I don't know how that's possible, though.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
But the game. The game. Family Feud actually kind of stinks. It's not that good of a game.
Dusty Slay
I don't know. I gotta disagree with you.
Aaron Weber
But now it's like the questions are not. They're all kind of derivative of each other.
Dusty Slay
It's kind of what I like about it is, it's like. It's not really based on intelligence. It's just like they go. We ask people these questions, and these are the answers they gave. So you gotta think common, you know, you got to be a common thinker.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
You know, you go. You don't go, what's the answer? You go, what would people say?
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Uhhuh.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Jeremy Pizer, Pisa Fiser. You know, it's not f. Know, he's close. He's. Jeremy's close. To be living a different life. He would be writing in. Say that. Yeah, he'd be. Yeah, he'd be living it up. Coming up on February 21st and 22nd, I am looking to go. Looking to go two for two, seeing Dusty and Boise on the 21st, and Aaron and Spokane on the 22nd.
Aaron Weber
All right.
Nate Bargetzi
For these actions, may I receive the honor of Nateland Listener of the Week. If not, can you at least validate parking?
Aaron Weber
That's awesome. I do want to clarify. I'm in spokane on the 23rd.
Brian Bates
Oh, so sorry, Jeremy.
Aaron Weber
Make sure we handle that.
Dusty Slay
And also, you know, let's see you do it first. You know, this is a lot of talk right now. Let's see you show up to both shows.
Nate Bargetzi
Get a picture with Dusty and Aaron. Yep, there you go.
Aaron Weber
And I will not be there on the 22nd.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, but you got to find Aaron on the 22nd.
Aaron Weber
I'll be a Tacoma, but, yeah, I'd love to see you.
Nate Bargetzi
Jerem, down.
Aaron Weber
Come on out.
Brian Bates
Get a picture with Dusty. You'll be tough.
Aaron Weber
Why is that?
Dusty Slay
Bring a gift.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, that's how you get back.
Dusty Slay
No, it is like, I don't want. I'm not even trying to be like that. But when people do bring me gifts, I go, wow. I want to take a picture with them. You know what I mean? Because it's very nice.
Aaron Weber
Yeah, of course.
Dusty Slay
And I like. I'm just. It's hard to do the meet and greet, but it's like, if people bring me stuff, I'm like, well, now I feel like I should, you know, take a picture with you. I don't want to not do that. That's not very nice of me, you know.
Nate Bargetzi
Did you put a hole in that table?
Dusty Slay
It's just in there.
Nate Bargetzi
Okay.
Brian Bates
It is now.
Dusty Slay
Look at that.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Your dad's been teaching me tricks.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Nathan Taylor. Nate's doordash commercial was hilarious. He got me thinking about what products the other guys could advertise. Brisket could do a life insurance commercial. Aaron would definitely do a Milky Way commercial. Dusty could do a cigar commercial.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
All right.
Brian Bates
Yeah. Yours sounds perfect for you.
Dusty Slay
That sounds great.
Aaron Weber
I don't think you can do tobacco on tv, though.
Brian Bates
Oh, yeah.
Aaron Weber
You have to find something else.
Dusty Slay
I'll do vape.
Brian Bates
I think you do it. Can you do it in magazines?
Aaron Weber
You can do it. Magazines, for sure.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Brian Bates
Just find a magazine.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
You can do life insurance. You would like that.
Brian Bates
Sure.
Nate Bargetzi
You just know a lot about it.
Brian Bates
I think it's just usually old people that are the ones that do it. I.
Nate Bargetzi
You go in there for life insurance, and they go. The guy behind the counter goes, like, I'll cover it.
Brian Bates
He goes, yeah, you got.
Nate Bargetzi
He goes, I'll do it. Don't worry.
Brian Bates
But I'll do a reverse mortgage ad.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Brian Bates
I was in a hotel room this weekend watching some on tv. And every commercial break, your commercial was on.
Nate Bargetzi
On tv.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Brian Bates
To the point where I started meeting. I was like, I'm sick of this.
Nate Bargetzi
On regular tv.
Brian Bates
Yeah. And it was on during snl.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Well, I knew it was on. See, I thought it was like, I know people are saying they've seen it crazy on YouTube.
Aaron Weber
Yep.
Nate Bargetzi
And so then I thought it was, like, more online because I haven't seen it on regular tv, like, watching, like, cable tv.
Brian Bates
This was Roku.
Nate Bargetzi
Here we go.
Brian Bates
But it had channels. I don't remember what I was watching.
Nate Bargetzi
No, no, I know. Yeah.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
But I think. Yeah, they. I know the snl. Like, they aired it like, twice.
Aaron Weber
That's crazy.
Nate Bargetzi
It's good. Yeah.
Dusty Slay
I love how you said Roku there. It's very close to the. But it felt like you said it like you had not never said it before for.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Roku.
Aaron Weber
You said Roku.
Dusty Slay
Roku.
Brian Bates
I didn't say. With a lot of confidence. I met.
Aaron Weber
I was trying to watch Hulu.
Brian Bates
Roku.
Nate Bargetzi
I was wearing Fubu.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
PR Wearing Fubu in the hotel watching.
Nate Bargetzi
Hulu on my Roku. That's a commercial. Oh, he just right.
Aaron Weber
I'm good. I'm good.
Nate Bargetzi
Thought something broke. I heard something.
Aaron Weber
I rolled over a piece of paper. We're good.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. It's a piece of wood. It's a piece of steel. Behind him, he goes, didn't you heard that crumble sounded like aluminum.
Aaron Weber
We're good. I rolled over the comments that are. The ad reads that are on the ground. Sorry about that.
Dusty Slay
We love talking about our Helix mattresses. I've had my Helix mattress almost three years now. Nate's parents just got one. And guess what? They love it. We all do. It improves how I sleep. Everyone knows I love their pillows. And I do. We talk about it all the time, but it has helped my. Helped with my sleep. Brian and Aaron have sleep apnea.
Aaron Weber
That's not in that.
Dusty Slay
It is in the end. Oh, Ryan and Aaron, absolutely.
Brian Bates
One time you call me by my real name.
Dusty Slay
And they said there he. I always call you Brian.
Brian Bates
Yeah, I know.
Dusty Slay
I'm. I'm the respectful person here. And they said there. Don't forget it. You know what I mean?
Brian Bates
I won't.
Dusty Slay
And they said their Helix mattresses helped with it. You guys said that, right? That it helps with your sleep apnea?
Aaron Weber
Oh, absolutely.
Dusty Slay
My old mattress was one of those old springs I got a bit about it on YouTube. There's a YouTube video called about my old mattress and I finally realized how bad that is for sleep. Helix fixes that issue. It's great for hot sleepers, people with back pain and snores. It's for everyone. It is a good mattress. Actually. I got one for my sister not long ago. My sister was. They kept complaining about how bad they were sleeping and they were telling me about their old mattress and I told them about this and they weren't doing it. They weren't getting it. And finally I said, you know what? I'm gonna buy him a mattress. My sister has done a lot of great things for me. Said. I said, I'm going to buy him a mattress. And I bought them a Helix and they love it. They've been sleeping great. They feel good. I don't think they would tell me if they didn't like it because I bought it for them. But they seem happier. Nate Bargetzi
We know all know Jody. What's the over under on how many of the mutual guests at the SNL concert? Nate knew? He obviously knew Dave Grohl. I really wanted to know what he thought about David Byrne and if he knew who he was. So excited to see him and Laura on the broadcast. I did not know who David Byrne was. Yeah, I think I knew that song.
Brian Bates
I did not know David Byrne. He's like, I've got a cult following.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. I did not know. I did not know David Byrne.
Aaron Weber
Talking Heads, right?
Nate Bargetzi
Yes. But I've heard of Talking Heads. But I did not know like what I. That's funny that she said David Byrne. Because I did ask. I go, I don't know who that is.
Dusty Slay
I don't know. I wouldn't have known David Byrne either. Talking Heads for sure. But I don't know by and they.
Nate Bargetzi
Brought him up by their names.
Brian Bates
I didn't know the woman he was up there with.
Nate Bargetzi
I did not either. Yeah, yeah. I was trying to think who else was that was Saturday night or Friday. That was Friday night.
Brian Bates
Or sent me the list.
Dusty Slay
Was this the forward it to you Was this the episode where Post Malone sang the.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Nirvana song with Nirvana.
Nate Bargetzi
Did you love.
Aaron Weber
Did you love every second of that?
Nate Bargetzi
I did. Did no one like it?
Dusty Slay
I was like, I don't know how. Well, this could be worse.
Aaron Weber
It's one of those impossible. It's an impossible thing to do to cover such a beloved song from a band where the lead singer is dead. It's like an impossible task.
Dusty Slay
Yeah. So, like, don't do it.
Aaron Weber
How good could he have done?
Nate Bargetzi
That's what I thought he did great.
Aaron Weber
Exactly. It's fine. Unless you.
Nate Bargetzi
That's like one of those that. I. I thought he did great, and I thought it was awesome and everybody loved it. And then I would. But I was curious because then you go. And people like, well, I didn't like this. Or I heard afterwards some stuff, but.
Aaron Weber
It killed in the room. Like, people.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, it was crazy. Yeah, it was crazy because post Nirvana, which is, like, the perfect name. I talked to Dave Grohl afterwards. Like, you. Like, y'all could tour with that and it, like, works out. I thought he sounded great, but that's where. I mean, with music. I don't understand. I don't know. I understand, like, what. You know, that all that. That band got back together. That's good. That's cool for those guys. They don't ever get to get back together.
Aaron Weber
Yeah. And it probably been years since they played.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Right. Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
And so I thought it was great. I didn't. But I mean that I was wondering, because I'm sure. I think everything's great, and then you get off and then everybody's, like, mad or said it was bad or something like that.
Dusty Slay
I just don't think he's good. And I don't know.
Nate Bargetzi
Post Malone.
Dusty Slay
Yeah. And I don't understand.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. But is this you? Is this you maybe, like. Or. Yeah, maybe it could be. You already don't like him.
Dusty Slay
I just don't think it's good, though. Somebody. People sent it to me, and I was like, you know, Kurt Cobain had. You know, not that he had some amazing singing voice, but he had a kind of a little yodel almost about his voice when he would sing these songs. And there was none of that in this. I just feel like, oh, he wasn't.
Aaron Weber
Doing a Kirk impression.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Yeah. He's doing. He's doing himself better. You know, he stayed alive, so that helped. So I know that's, you know. Well, sure, that's Post Malone's fault. So.
Dusty Slay
But I just think. I don't know. I think there should be a little something of that in it.
Aaron Weber
I think you just gotta accept that you're just gonna not like stuff.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Other people are, and I'm grappling with that too. You're not, though, because you've.
Dusty Slay
No, I accept it.
Aaron Weber
This is.
Dusty Slay
But I'm just having a conversation about it.
Aaron Weber
I'm talking about just beyond this conversation. Just in general.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. I would think you don't like, post blown and you go, I don't like him already, so he's going to annoy me no matter what.
Dusty Slay
But sometimes I don't like people and then they do something and I go, well, that was really good.
Nate Bargetzi
And. But what's the general online? Were they saying, I saw some tweets.
Dusty Slay
Most people seem to like it. People were saying to me, saying, oh, I love this. What do you think?
Nate Bargetzi
Some people didn't like it.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
It shows you that online is just.
Aaron Weber
If it killed in the room, then that's all that.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, it would kill in the room. It would sell out. If they sold tickets to that. Everybody would love it. Everybody would have fun.
Dusty Slay
Sure.
Nate Bargetzi
It's the best. It was. It was very, very. It was like. I thought that was like, the best part of the whole concert at that concert. I love that. Yeah.
Dusty Slay
They do a bunch of songs. They do a bunch of Nirvana songs.
Aaron Weber
Or do they just play the one song?
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, they just played that one song, which is great, because that's why I think it was so great, because they played that one song. They got out.
Aaron Weber
What am I pulling up?
Brian Bates
Oh, she sent the list of all the performers.
Nate Bargetzi
I don't know.
Brian Bates
Okay, we care.
Aaron Weber
We got Mumford and Sons right here, it looks like.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. I don't know where we're showing. Are we gonna go?
Brian Bates
Well, let's start with Wednesday.
Nate Bargetzi
Let's go through the whole thing. It was a crazy.
Aaron Weber
It's a crazy week.
Nate Bargetzi
Whole week.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
So, yeah, so I. I got there Wednesday because I was supposed to have rehearsal Thursday, and then as I was about to take off, they go, I don't have to rehearse until Saturday.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
And I was taking off Wednesday, so. And they were like, you could basically just come Friday for the concert or Saturday, you know, But I was already going, and I was like, all right, I'll just go. And, you know, I'll. Yeah, I was like, I'll. I'll end up. I. I went and I was like, dude, to some spots. So I went to New York Comedy Club. Used to be the Eastfield Comedy Club in this room. That's where I first hit so I met a Texas. Me and Gaffkin went down there and that's where I got Conan out of that room. It used to be the Eastfield Comedy Club and now it's New York. So I got my first two Conan's auditioning out of that room.
Aaron Weber
Leaning up against the wall, huh? Pretty casual, right?
Nate Bargetzi
Well, that's the old. I mean, you know, it's the old, old way you did it.
Aaron Weber
You're going to be sitting down within a year, dude. You're going to be sitting down.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, I'm in the round.
Brian Bates
Well, everybody said the only reason he had.
Nate Bargetzi
I thought about sitting down, I thought about trying it. But yeah, that's. This is. This is all New York.
Aaron Weber
I know.
Nate Bargetzi
New York City's all leaning and it's.
Dusty Slay
So divers club in the daytime at an open mic. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
I once. That's the one. When it was Eastfield and open mic. I went in there and I was running a Conan and I asked if I could run it. And that's where the guy goes, I throw you a blast at the. It was a 5pm open mic. He didn't. I don't think he understood the words, I'm. I'm doing Conan. Yeah. It didn't make sense to him. Like, you know, like. And because you think just every comic's got like that shorthand. Yeah, I'm running Conan tonight. Do you mind if I do it? You're like, yeah, yeah. And I told him that. And he goes, so I was going to sit there for an hour. Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Maybe more.
Nate Bargetzi
Maybe more.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Wait till all the crowd's gone.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. So there. And then I went to seller. So this picture is Mike Vecchion's idea. So it's all. I got a lot of comics. We got together and hung out. So we went to. We went to the Eastville with Gafkin. Then I went over to. Then Spade. I don't know if it's Wednesday night. Spade got in Thursday night, but then went over Wednesday night, went over to Connie Cellar and went up there and Chris Rock. It's gonna sound. This is gonna be all just names. You're gonna hear sound. So. But Rock came by and Aziz, and so we were hanging out and then we were about to be leaving. And Vecchion's idea was this. But I do like that the picture's there. This is the corner I stood at when I would hand out flyers for the Boston Comedy Club, which was right up the street that way on 3rd Street, I think. And so comedy Sellers, if you're looking at this picture face on comedy seller is on my left, if you know me facing you. And then. So I would stand there and I'll hit up fires. That corner, I remember standing on that corner and I'm like handing out flyers and you're just in mode like, hey, we got a great show for you tonight. Boston come to club. You want to come down. Hey, we got a great show for you tonight. Hey, we got a great show for trying to get people to come to Boston Comedy Club. And then I turned and go, hey, we got a great show. And it was Bill Burr. And I was like, I'm sorry, man. And I go, I'm sorry, dude. And he was going to run his first Letterman. Oh, so he was, it was the Letterman, his first late night set. And I like barked him. I was like, I'm sorry, dude. I like, you know where you're like, I, I know who you are. Like, you know, I felt embarrassed. I mean, you know, he's, it's at that point, I mean, he's going to do his first Letterman.
Dusty Slay
He.
Nate Bargetzi
But he was like, he's the man, like, for sure. And he, and then he was like, he was like, no, no, don't worry about him. He was, he was very nice, you know, and then he was like, I'm going to run Letterman. I was like, well, there's, you can come to the Boston. You come. You know. I was like, the seller, he obviously knows the seller's there. But I was like, there's another room right down there. Village Lantern. Like, you know, I can get you.
Aaron Weber
Up last at the mic over there.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just telling them, like, you can just go to all these rooms and go run it. But that's where I stood on that. I stood on that corner for quite a while in, I mean, just freezing weather. And it's where I would have my daydreaming of playing Bridgestone to just. And then as I handed someone a flyer and they dropped it on the ground in front of me and it was. I remember one time I didn't bring a jacket. I went out there to go stand some reason, didn't bring a jacket. And it was, it was like, it was so cold and I, I think I had to eventually go back in, get someone to switch because I was like, this was a mistake and I'm sorry.
Aaron Weber
Yeah, yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
But I do not have a jacket out there and it's freezing.
Aaron Weber
Yeah, but so you brought half a jacket this time.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, well, that's a jacket underneath It. I bought that jacket when I was there. It's a cool jacket.
Aaron Weber
Yeah. Okay.
Nate Bargetzi
It's a half a jacket and a jacket underneath.
Aaron Weber
One and a half jackets.
Nate Bargetzi
One and a half jackets. So, yeah, so we went there, and then Thursday night, Spade came in town, and so then we all. We went to the. And then to. Back to the comic seller. So we go to the comic seller and think about this. We go to the comic seller. You know, every. Everybody's kind of in town, right? Because Everybody's going to SNL 50. So Spade, we text like, rock and Spade. I'm like, spade's with me. Then we text Rock. We're like, hey, we're going over to the seller. He's like, so he comes over. So we get there, and then when you go there, they're like, all right, do y'all want to go up? And, you know. And Spades. Spade's going to go up. He doesn't always go up either. He wasn't. He was like, I'm not going up. And then he was like, I'll go up. And I was like, all right, well, that's all. Go up. So. So I went up, Spade went up, Rock went up. Without knowing. I didn't. We did not know this. They told us as we were going up that same show how that show started was the host. And then it went Steve Martin. Martin short, John Mulaney. And then it was like, y'all was.
Aaron Weber
Actually the worst part of the show.
Nate Bargetzi
We were the worst part of the show. Steve Martin, I believe.
Aaron Weber
Is he running his monologue?
Nate Bargetzi
He was. Yeah, he was running his monologue. And I think he went to a club when he did the Oscars, but, like, outside of that, he hasn't been to a room like that since the 60s there.
Brian Bates
Lucy posted, I think.
Aaron Weber
Yeah, yeah, she showed.
Nate Bargetzi
So that show. This is this. I don't know if they're still showing this picture, but it's this. At the comedy seller. That show is those people paid, I think, $18 for that ticket.
Aaron Weber
Wow.
Nate Bargetzi
And they. And the show was. Yeah. Leslie Jones went up. John Lancaster is the host. Like, you know, then a couple other. The comics that are just on the seller lineup.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
And then. Yeah. I mean, I'm not saying I'm them, but I went up and then Spade, then Rock, and I brought Spade up. And so this crowd was like, everybody.
Aaron Weber
What is happening right now?
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, it was like. Because they were like, no. We were like, oh, we don't have to go up. Then they're like, nah, go up. Like you know, and it's. We were saying, like, it's got to be one of the better lineups ever at the cell.
Dusty Slay
If you're like a no name, you're like, I'd like to get bumped.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Actually, I want to be bumped on this.
Aaron Weber
Please don't wedge me.
Brian Bates
Imagine complaining. Like, I need my time.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. There's comics that would.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Complain. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, Those people paid 18, and you got that. And it's just boof, boof. And you. And you don't. And it just keeps going.
Dusty Slay
I was Steve Martin. I love Steve Martin, but.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, he's awesome.
Dusty Slay
I'd love to see him do stand up.
Aaron Weber
You got there after he had gone up, though.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. I did not see him there that night, but they. They came in and then they kind of left.
Aaron Weber
He did the opening monologue to snl.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Last night.
Dusty Slay
Oh, I'll check that out.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
And so he. And then he went up and did that. Then he brought Martin short up, and they, you know, they do a whole thing together. A show together. And then they brought Mulaney up. I mean, it's like absolutely nuts. And. And so just stopping in, and then it's like a wave that goes in. Then it's like Leslie Jones. And then it kind of like, I think. And then it's like just. Then it's. You know, then I bring up. Then, like, when I came up, they went crazy. And then Spade. Then. Then I'm like, all right, well, I'm bringing up someone. And I go, david Spade. And they're like, I was just going.
Aaron Weber
To ask how fun was that? Knowing you get to bring up a.
Nate Bargetzi
Very fun. Because they've already had so much. They're like, who else could even. Spade. Certain Spade. And then they're like, after Spade, it's like, well, what else is going to happen? It's like, Chris Rock.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
And then it's just like, who followed Chris Rock? Spade. Oh, went up to Chris. Like, me. Yeah. Yeah. The new.
Brian Bates
More comic folks. One more comic Chappelle. No. Brian Bates.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Forget.
Dusty Slay
That would be the perfect spot for you.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
That's what I'd love to see you do.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. I forget who did it, but that is. That's the wonderful. That was.
Dusty Slay
You know, Post Malone could follow Chris Rock.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. He goes, I'm gonna do my Nirvana.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Or he would just do someone else. Now he's got. He's like, I'm gonna do my Mitch Hedberg.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Post Hedberg.
Dusty Slay
Yeah. Post Edburn.
Nate Bargetzi
Post Edberg.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
So that was. That was that night.
Brian Bates

Nate Bargetzi
Oh, I just sent a random picture of a Louis Vuitton building. Oh, I don't know if you have it in there.
Aaron Weber
No, I don't.
Nate Bargetzi
I don't think so. I. I thought I texted it or I sent it to.
Brian Bates
I may have missed that.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, I can. I can say it. It's just a. It's just a building.
Brian Bates
But what was the story behind it?
Nate Bargetzi
No story. It's just a really cool building. It's a crazy building.
Brian Bates
So we could just Google that.
Nate Bargetzi
Well, I. It's funner to see that. It came from my phone. I got. Aaron, I can air drop it to me. Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Boom.
Nate Bargetzi
This was just near the hotel. And look at this.
Aaron Weber
I mean, okay, that was. That was worth pulling up.
Nate Bargetzi
Is that not crazy?
Aaron Weber
That looks insane. It looks like a suitcase.
Nate Bargetzi
And it looks like. Like you're going to see that almost could be the way new buildings go in cities. Because it looks unbelievable.
Aaron Weber
This is almost more impressive than the sphere.
Brian Bates
Yes.
Nate Bargetzi
It's. It's. It's crazy.
Brian Bates
Dude.
Nate Bargetzi
It's crazy. When you're walking up there, you're. It would be like go see it in person.
Aaron Weber
Yeah, Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
I mean, that little handles are. It comes off of it. It's made. It's. I don't know. I mean, I.
Aaron Weber
Every time you assumed a lot of this was screens, but it's straight up. It's the real.
Nate Bargetzi
The real thing.
Aaron Weber
Wow.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
It's better than the Statue of Liberty.
Dusty Slay
They're really making some money there. Louis Vuitton.
Nate Bargetzi
That building's closed.
Aaron Weber
Is it really?
Nate Bargetzi
I don't. Yeah, it's not. Their. Their store is like across the street. I don't know.
Brian Bates
Bankrupt building it.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. I don't know if they're going to go into. But I mean, maybe it's like, maybe it doesn't need to just have it be an empty building.
Aaron Weber
I saw how much money Louis Vuitton makes a year. It will shock you how much money they make.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
They're like one of the biggest companies in the world. Just from. Just from bags.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
And other stuff.
Dusty Slay
Just from. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
All right, so. So that was Thursday.
Dusty Slay
That is a cool building, though. When you. When you guys were all searching for.
Nate Bargetzi
A picture of a building, you're like, how.
Dusty Slay
Yeah, that's very cool.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. I mean, I actually really thought about it and took a picture of it and I said, I'm going to show that because it was just. I was so impressed by that. That building. So Thursday night. Yeah, we go do that stuff. So Friday night is a concert. So Friday night we go to the concert. We get in there, meet Joy Lewis Dreyfus. Think of a picture of her. Yeah.
Brian Bates
How was she?
Nate Bargetzi
She was wonderful. She knew me. She actually asked me to take the picture because her kids love me. All right, that's awesome. So then I was like, well, can I get one?
Aaron Weber
Yeah, yeah, of course.
Nate Bargetzi
And then. So took a picture with her. She ended up, you know, talking to her, like, kind of throughout the weekend. Like, nothing crazy. Just it's. It's. It's crazy. Once every. It is like, when I, like, I think of it, like when all the celebrities get together, it's like the. I think I've talked about before. The shorthand is gone, so there's, you know, it's like, oh, yeah, great. You're a big fan. Then you just kind of have a conversation. Like you've known each other for a while. You just kind of get into it.
Aaron Weber
It's like when comics meet each other.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Yes. Yeah. It would be like anybody at, like, any kind of office working environment where.
Brian Bates
It'S like, you can speak shorthand, right?
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Brian Bates
Not so short. It's gone. The shorthands. You can just get into it.
Nate Bargetzi
Yes.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah. Maybe. Yeah. Is that what I meant? Yeah.
Brian Bates
So there was her husband, Brad.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, man.
Brian Bates
Coming back from the break last night on the show. There was one shot where you'd see him yawning. It's very funny.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Brian Bates
It's two and a half hours into the show.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, yeah. They could have got me a couple times. Yeah. I mean, it's a long night and you're. Dude. Every night is the longest. I mean, we were out every single night. So we're sitting here. So at great, great seats. Got an aisle seat. I mean, unbelievable.
Aaron Weber
Primo.
Nate Bargetzi
I don't know. It was either. If you would have told me, I could have Tom Makes behind me or an aisle seat, and for me to get both is unbelievable.
Aaron Weber
I might much rather have the aisles.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Yeah. Ray Romano's in front of me. Peyton Manning up a little bit to the left. We had Arcade Fire guy. If y'all watched his, like, when he. He went crazy. Crazy. He came up. Wonderful.
Brian Bates
Will Butler.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. He was just sitting in his seat, like a mean Ray are, like, looking. He's got a crazy suit on. And so I. We did not. I did not put it together who he was at the time. He's very tall, and so he's sitting there, and you can. Now it all makes sense, you know, because he's, like, kind of quiet and just sitting there, like, watching, but not too into the show. And then he gets up and sings, and then you're like, oh. And he. And you're like, well, that was the opposite. What? I thought that. But then I was thinking about. That's like, if you ever do, you know, when you do a corporate gig or something where, you know, you got to go up and you got to sit in there, you're not. You're kind of, like, not paying attention to what's going on because you're like, I have to go up soon.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
So I'm kind of staying in the head space of that. But I did not know that. So I'm just seeing him sit there, watch it. And then he just gets up and he starts going crazy and dancing and runs through the crowd. You're like, well, that's the opposite of I. You go, I didn't have that pegged. So we are. We're. But we're there. Gaffkin's over there. You know, I mean, everybody. You just look. It's. It's Miles Teller sitting right next to us, which I've known. I got to know Miles Teller to golf in Lake Tahoe. He's awesome, man. He's an awesome dude. Yeah. Yeah. Very fun to hang out with. Very funny. Like, you can joke around him. Like, he felt like hanging out with a comic.
Aaron Weber
That's cool.
Nate Bargetzi
Where you can just, like, you know, like, be funny, you know? Also, I hung out like that Chris Pine.
Aaron Weber
Oh, really?
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, he was normal dude at the after party last night. Yeah, normal dude, like, you know, just had a buddy with him from high school or something.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
And, yeah, it was like. Yeah, it was a cool dude. I told him. He goes, I've never been to Nashville. And I go, you look like a guy that's been Nashville a lot. I don't know.
Dusty Slay
Even the name, he was going through some.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, no. He looks. I don't know. He, like, felt like he was going.
Dusty Slay
Through some stuff for a minute.
Nate Bargetzi
His hair is lighter. Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Yeah. See him on Kimmel there? It just seems like he was.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah. But he. Yeah, he was awesome.
Dusty Slay
All right.
Nate Bargetzi
Because I feel like, yeah, he's a good guy. Like, he. I feel like you could. You don't know someone that he's, like, that good of an actor. They're gonna be intimidating or.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Are not. Like.
Dusty Slay
But he had. This is a better look for me. See, he had a better look than that before. See, when you see him looking like that, you're like, are you okay?
Brian Bates
Maybe he's researching a role to play you. Dusty Slay Bob.
Dusty Slay
Right? When you look like this guy in the. You know, any of these other pictures.
Nate Bargetzi
It'S like, well, if you look at. Go back to that one for the dusty look. That is Dusty. That believes the earth is round.
Dusty Slay
I'm dressing up.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. He goes, that's. That's. Loves gravity.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
That's a guy, right? That's A dusty that loves. That's your. Your alter ego. Yeah, that.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
You know, trust the science.
Nate Bargetzi
Who loves the science?
Dusty Slay
It's still drinking, though.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Aaron Weber
He's still having a good time.
Nate Bargetzi
Still a good time. Yeah. Yeah. You're more fun. Maybe.
Dusty Slay
Probably.
Nate Bargetzi
Probably.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
So, yeah, we go to this. So the concert was in there. Steven Spielberg came up to me.
Aaron Weber
Crazy.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. So we're sitting there, he, like, got up. I wanted to meet him. You kind of just want to meet. I mean, all of them. You're just like, all right, you can knock all these. Like, you know, not knock them off, but you're like, kind of like, where are you gonna get. You're not gonna be around any of these people.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
So you're like, let me just go. You just want to see if they seem nice or whatever.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
And so I got Tom Hanks. I've met before. So we were him and his wife Rita, and so right behind us, and we talked to them, and then New Ray and Miles and Peyton and so knew a lot of people. And then we make contact with Spielberg, and he, like, gets up to kind of like, he's going to walk over towards me, and then I was like, I'll just come to you. And then I went back behind him and talked to him. And, I mean, he goes, you're my. He goes, I just wanted to meet the funniest water meter reader of all time. Whoa.
Aaron Weber
Quoted a bit.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Wow.
Nate Bargetzi
He's like. I mean, they. Him and his wife, they were big fans. They were like, if you know what you always get told where, like, it feels like you're in our house, like, you feel like, you know, like, they all want to meet Laura.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Because they're just like, you know, he was.
Brian Bates
Did he mention me?
Nate Bargetzi
He did, yeah. He goes, how's he getting breakfast? Yeah. He goes, I heard old ET is older now because I heard you got ET on the podcast. I go, yeah, yeah, he's doing good.
Dusty Slay
Still trying to get home.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Already. You know, what if he said you look like ET's uncle?
Brian Bates
Well, that just sounds mean.
Nate Bargetzi
I know. Well, I'm just trying to do something. You asked if Steven Spielberg talked about you, so you kind of put me in a spot here on the bottom left. No, that's Tom Hank's son's girlfriend. No, no, not yet. Another.
Dusty Slay
The one that's an actor that was.
Nate Bargetzi
No, no.
Aaron Weber
Colin Hanks.
Dusty Slay
Yeah. Colin.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
That's a different one.
Nate Bargetzi
It's different.
Dusty Slay
Wow.
Nate Bargetzi
I want to say Truman, but I'm.
Dusty Slay
Not sure what happened to Kyla. Remember him?
Nate Bargetzi
He still does stuff.
Dusty Slay
Good stuff.
Aaron Weber
He was in Psych. Remember that? He's the detective.
Dusty Slay
Oh, I didn't know Psych. I knew. Oh, okay. I never watched that show. But he was in the college movie.
Brian Bates
Van Wilder.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah. He's still. Oh, no, he was in. He was in that movie that I love with Orange County.
Dusty Slay
Yeah, Orange County.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah.
Dusty Slay
Jack Black.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah, Very funny. Yeah, Jack Black. So, yeah, it was so Spielberg just. I mean, just wonderful. Wonderful. I gotta tell him my first movie I ever saw in the theaters was E.T.
Aaron Weber
Oh, that's cool.
Nate Bargetzi
And he was like, oh. So that's how he goes. So that's how I got you started. I go, yeah, yeah, yeah, he's jet. Like, I sound so too. I'm like, I. I go, I saw my first. I went to. First movie I went to in the theater is E.T. i. I was saying that so much. I said that to Chris Pine to something. Movie theater. And I'm like, yeah, I'm. I guess you just go, you got.
Dusty Slay
To keep it real out there.
Nate Bargetzi
Well, you know, it gets there. I don't even think about it till it's already there and then it's already out. And you're like, what are you going to do? Yeah, that. You just say, you know, you got.
Dusty Slay
To represent Old Hickory out there.
Nate Bargetzi
Well, yeah, you're. I'm fine. Representative. But sometimes you're like, I'm just. I don't want to get involved. I don't. I'm always just trying to avoid sometimes the. What. What did you say? Yeah, theater. I say theater. So he. Yeah. Unbelievable. Awesome as all. Everything was cool.
Brian Bates
You're in his next movie now.
Nate Bargetzi
Yep. Yep. Means Spielberg, too. So then we. That, that night, we go, what was that night? It was the. Yeah. We go, oh, there was. I had a funny thing. Uh, so there's an after party. There's after party every night.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
You may tell you what I've learned. All right. If you ever think. So this kind of situation where an SNL thing. You got to imagine all these celebrities, it's. Everybody's reading into everything. So where are you sitting? Are you allowed to bring a plus one? Not a plus one. Are you sitting, you know, like, are you farther back? Are you in the middle? Are you in the aisle? Are you in the this or who are you next to? Who did they pair you with in comics would do that. You're always like, why are they putting me here? And all this. And so you can always think that There was an after party every night. I never knew about an after. Paul McCartney was doing shows for, like, 500, this small theater all week. And everybody was like, I went and saw Paul McCartney. That's like. Like, none of us. And I mean, for me, I'm just like, well, I'm not in that circle, like, to get asked to go there. And you're like, oh, I don't. You don't get thought of. And all this. And then I was talking to Tina Fey, and then Tina Fey's like. She goes. I mean, she goes, what are these after parties? I mean, I haven't heard about one of them. And she goes, and Paul McCartney's just doing shows all week. No one's telling me. And it was like, you just had that moment where you're like, it. Nothing is as pointed as you think it is. Yeah, even she is. If anybody should know anything. Yeah, it's her. She's the one that. They're like, if they ever retired, she would take over. You know, I don't think she would. But, like, it's. But if she. You know, all this stuff. If anybody would ever know anything, and it's. And you just learn. I don't know. It's like a. If you're. I'd imagine probably in any business. But it's nice. It just. There's moments you can go like, no one's.
Brian Bates
It's a good lesson for kids. Because everyone thinks, yeah, everyone's getting invited to the party but me or. Or whatever. And, and usually nobody knows what's going on.
Aaron Weber
Right?
Nate Bargetzi
Usually nobody knows what's going on. And you're. And, And. And people will be overlooked, and it'll be big people will be little people, and it'll be, you know. But it was. It was just very. I don't know, it was like, comforting to hear or say that. Where you're like, oh, yeah, because I didn't hear about. Everybody's like, we're going to see Paul McCartney. I'm like, yeah, no one I didn't hear about in this. And then the, the only reason, like, the after parties were just. You found out in the moment. And then you're like, you know, you're a little. I don't want to ask. Because you're like, I don't want to show up. And they're like, you can't come in.
Dusty Slay
That's really the spot to be, I think, right? Because you're like, you. You. You get to go home right there. Because they're like, oh, I didn't know I wasn't invited. But if they. If you are invited, you're like, well, I gotta go see Paul McCartney.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
You know, And I can't say, no.
Aaron Weber
You don't want to go see Paul McCartney, though.
Dusty Slay
That's what I'm saying. You get invited, you're like, I gotta. Of course I gotta go see Paul McCartney.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
But if you don't get invited, you're like, good, I can go home.
Brian Bates
But you wouldn't want to.
Nate Bargetzi
Well, yeah, he doesn't want the hassle.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
I want to go back to the hotel and. But if you get invited, you're like, well, of course I'm gonna go see Paul McCartney.
Aaron Weber
Win. Win.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
I would like, see Nate outside, try to. I've hosted twice.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. You know me. My biggest. Every after party I was going to, I was like, oh, my gosh. Yeah. I'm gonna walk up and they're gonna.
Aaron Weber
Be, who do you know here?
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. And they're like, we don't know you. You felt that the whole.
Aaron Weber
You're wearing that sweatshirt, which.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, I got all my SNL stuff carrying that George Washington painting. Yeah. So we. We go. We. But so anyway, we found out Sandler's the one actually told us, so we go down there. So there's like, me pay. We all go to after party. Yeah. And so we're all hanging out. I mean, dude, these after party is. It's just. You're with all of these people the whole time, and it's just everybody there's really. I was thinking about anybody else you want to meet famous. It was like, it kind of is knocked out. Like, I still. I mean, I would like to meet Tom Cruise.
Brian Bates
Michael Jordan.
Nate Bargetzi
Michael Jordan, yeah. Tiger. You know, I met him. I'd like to, you know, play golf.
Aaron Weber
With it maybe and hang out.
Nate Bargetzi
Actually hang out with Brad Pitt would be fun. Just because he's, you know, so big. And then I would have been. Stiller was there, and I would have liked to meet him. He didn't come to the. I didn't see him in the. Any of the stuff, but I know he was in the audience in the snl. And if I would have thought about it, I would have went over to try to really search him out, to meet him in that moment.
Aaron Weber
Okay.
Nate Bargetzi
But I would have liked to meet him, too. But we go to. Over to the after party, and so it's, you know, you're kind of hanging out with like. Like Peyton. Who. The people you kind of know the most.
Aaron Weber
So I'm with boys With Peyton now?
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, we. I mean, every time we're at stuff, like, me and Peyton kind of link up and we'll go walk around.
Aaron Weber
All right.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Y'all buried the hatchet.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, yeah, we're good. We're good.
Brian Bates
I know you still love Peyton.
Nate Bargetzi
He. Yeah, I told you. He called me. Yeah, no, we talked and he. He's wonderful.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
So he's very funny, too. And, like, he's. You just tell jokes to him and he starts laughing. Like, he gets. He gets your, like, comic jokes. That's kind of quick side jokes. But it's so. It's me, Peyton, Ray, like, in the. Their wives and Laura. And we're all sitting in this upstairs, and it's walking around. So Lady Gaga. Ray Romano's like, I want to go. He's like, I want to go meet Lady Gaga. And I was like, let's just go over there and meet. I will go up to about anybody.
Aaron Weber
Okay.
Nate Bargetzi
I enjoy it because I enjoy it to, like, some. You're just like, hey, I'm a comedian. And so, you know, you're so used to that. And then now I do that to everybody, and I still. But now they're like, yeah, I know. And whether I think they know me from snl, I don't, you know, someone know me from. I met Eddie Murphy. He knows me from snl. He doesn't know me as a stand. Like, my stand up. They knew it from snl. And then. So we go to Lady Gaga. She's got a witch hat on. I think it's a kind of a witch hat. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Dusty Slay
Sounds.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah. And wish Dusty were there. She. And so we go up, and I was like, hey, nice to meet you. Very, you know, very nice. But she. So she leans in, like, leans towards me, and I'm kind of, like, not leaning towards her.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
And I go, I'm a comedian. She goes, I know. And then she's leans in more, and I'm still not. And she goes, I'm trying to kiss you on the cheek. And I go, oh. And I had to lean forward. And then when I look back at it, everybody that went to say hi to her, she would. That's her. That's how. Like, it's the European. She's not European. But it's like. But it's like. You know how they do it in France, where they kiss you in a theater?
Aaron Weber
It's European. Or you get to a certain level of fame. That's just how you start greeting each other.
Nate Bargetzi
Yes.
Aaron Weber
There's a Little on either side of the face.
Nate Bargetzi
Yes.
Aaron Weber
I don't even know how to do that.
Nate Bargetzi
Just once.
Aaron Weber
I've never been in just once. I thought it was on either side.
Nate Bargetzi
No, I think that's European. I think famous is just you just touch cheeks, basically. You don't even really kiss them. You just touch their teeth and you do that. So. But I did not. Now looking back, I saw her do it to the three people before me.
Aaron Weber
Yeah, but you never met her before. You don't know.
Nate Bargetzi
I don't know if she knows. I mean, who am I?
Aaron Weber
What if you just came in hot.
Nate Bargetzi
With a. Yeah, yeah. So she leans. But it was just so funny to have her. It was, it was almost like it had a break character. She goes, I'm trying to kiss you on the cheek. And I go, oh. And then I lean all the way in.
Brian Bates
That's funny.
Nate Bargetzi
And then. Yeah, then Ray. Ray met her. I was like, ray, I'd lean in.
Aaron Weber
Yeah, yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
He knew to lean in then he knew.
Aaron Weber
He's a. He's been doing this a while. Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
So they came in.
Aaron Weber
What was.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I didn't. I mean, you're like, I don't know, shake like, you know, mostly everybody can shake everybody's hand, but you're, you know, shake people's hands. You don't know what you know. I don't, you know, this is, it's all where you're like, I walk up to a situation and I'm like, I don't know if you're the vibe of everybody who's. Nor. A lot of everybody's basically normal.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
You know, I mean, but you have some real artist, like some. Yeah, she's a real artist. So you have some real artists that you're like, if I didn't see Arian Grande, but if you walked up to her, you would be like, I don't want to touch her.
Aaron Weber
Yeah. Do I curtsy? I don't even know how to like approach.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah. I mean she's like tiny and like you would just be like, I don't know what to do.
Aaron Weber
Dress like Queen Elizabeth or something.
Brian Bates
And you're like, have you ever woken up with a funky symptom like a swollen, itchy eye, funky looking rash or a tight pain in your neck?
Aaron Weber
Oh, yeah.
Brian Bates
What about a persistent cold that won't.
Aaron Weber
Go away every day?
Brian Bates

Nate Bargetzi
So yes, Snoop Dogg came out. It's fun to. Jelly Roll crushed it. Snoop Dogg came out. He comes. He said everything.
Brian Bates
Yeah, he and Jelly Roll.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Snoop Dogg's at everything for years and he always looks the same. I don't feel like you ever get a close up shot of him though.
Aaron Weber
I could not tell you how old he is.
Brian Bates
We're the same age.
Nate Bargetzi
Really?
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Wow.
Brian Bates
We both look good. Yeah, we don't age. Me, him, Shaq.
Aaron Weber
Oh yeah, the Rock.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, we're all the same age. Yeah.
Aaron Weber
What a crew.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, that's a crew. We gotta get you guys together. Yeah, a couple guys what graduated high school in 92. 90.
Brian Bates
Born the 70s, graduated in the 90s.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, but when did you graduate?
Brian Bates
1990.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, 1990.
Brian Bates
We don't get semantics, but.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So the, the whole concert was great. I thought it went by pretty quick. And they were doing, you know, the sketches, they did stuff that was very fun. It's just a fun big night. Like it was fun. So anyway, go to the ab.
Aaron Weber
Smart, smart food.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. So this is Jane. What's her williker or it's with the W. Whitaker or wine or what? She was in the. She's very funny. She's on snl. She's a new cast member.
Aaron Weber
Yeah, Jane Whitaker.
Nate Bargetzi
Jane Whitaker, Yeah. And she was. So I walk in and so they just gave her. Well, I was in her dressing room and I saw that there and I was like, I was like, I was like. I go, is this the line I'm doing? I thought it was like the line, you know, but that's her card from the water slide. So when I did the Water slide sketch. That was her first speaking.
Aaron Weber
Oh, that's awesome.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, so it was cool. I was going to autograph it. Then I thought that might be arrogant.
Aaron Weber
What if she were like, nah, I.
Nate Bargetzi
Know I did it. I think history. Funny. Yeah, I did. I was like going to write something and sign it. Then it thought that is. That could be.
Aaron Weber
It's a little presumptuous.
Nate Bargetzi
So I signed the lay's potato chips and laid it next to it. And then sign the back of it. Yeah, yeah. She wants to cover it up. But it was so. It was. Why.
Dusty Slay
But why was it in the room?
Nate Bargetzi
Because it's her dressing room.
Dusty Slay
Like all her. All the time dressing room.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah.
Dusty Slay
Okay.
Nate Bargetzi
So they put us all in, everybody.
Dusty Slay
Okay. So she wasn't just in there for the night with the car.
Nate Bargetzi
No, no, no.
Aaron Weber
It's like her office.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, it's her office.
Dusty Slay
I get why you didn't do it, but you should have signed it.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's her office. She's. She's very sweet. The song she did when I hosted, the first time she did a song. It's a very, very funny song. And if you ever go listen to it, you just got to really listen to the whole song.
Brian Bates
On Weekend Update.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, she did on Weekend Update. It's so funny about staying at a party too long and it's just really, really funny. And you listen to it. I don't know. It's just very smart and clever. It's great. So we're hanging out in there and this rehearsal, so we're going through. There's Peyton, John Hamm. Jon Ham's a fun time, too.
Brian Bates
That's cool.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. John Ham's a guy. I think you can meet him. Anybody can meet him. And you're going to. You're going to be like, that was the best. Talk to Ryan Reynolds. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. And Blake Lively.
Dusty Slay
How's that?
Nate Bargetzi
I'm on their side.
Dusty Slay
I don't know.
Nate Bargetzi
I don't really. I don't know what it is either. I don't know what it is.
Dusty Slay
Was he a fun guy?
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, dude. I mean, he was. Yeah, he's unbelievable. He talked to. He talked to him. She was very nice, too. I mean, they're, you know, seem like some of the best people I've ever seen in my life. And so I don't know, you know?
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
I don't know what that other idiots doing. He didn't talk to me. He wasn't there.
Dusty Slay
Yeah, it was it.
Nate Bargetzi
I don't think. I just. I Don't know anything about it. Like, it was. Oh, yeah. That's when I stood up and did my line. Quinta. Quinta Brunson. Yeah. We sat at the same table at the Golden Globes because she's on Abbot elementary. And they lost. And then I. Cheers. And the guy said, it's just us.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
But it wasn't her that said it.
Nate Bargetzi
No, it was the. The guy that was the producer on the show.
Dusty Slay
You're like, look, here I am again, buddy. You didn't want me to cheers with you?
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Still around, though.
Nate Bargetzi
Still here. I'm always gonna be here.
Dusty Slay
Been cheersing with Lady Gaga, though.
Nate Bargetzi
So, yeah, rehearsal was great. Then that night they did it. So that night we did a toast. They did. We had a toast for Lauren in the Rainbow Room and never been up there. You've seen it always, like on the sign. So the toast was very fun. Oh, that's me down there. Very. So Wally, who does the. Holds the cue cards.
Aaron Weber
He.
Nate Bargetzi
He gave me a hat. So if you zoom in, you see me talking to Spielberg.
Dusty Slay
Oh, yeah.
Aaron Weber
I was just chatting it up.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. And I got two hats on. I forgot I put that. Because Wally just gave me his hat and I put it over the other hat. And then now I'm just talking to Spielberg. Two hats on. Spielberg said. Because, you know, he's only been on the show one time as a cameo, and. But his history with the show is he's been coming to it. He was at the first episode in 1975.
Aaron Weber
Wow.
Nate Bargetzi
So he just did Jaws. And he flew in. Flew in. And he goes, you know, and I had enough credibility that they. He goes, I gotta sit in the last row. And he watched it with Carlin the first episode. And then he goes to the after party and said John Belushi came up to him and was like, you're the one that did that shark movie, right?
Aaron Weber
Wow.
Nate Bargetzi
He goes, yeah, yeah. And so he said he came every Saturday for that first season.
Brian Bates
Wow.
Nate Bargetzi
So he would fly from LA on Friday and come Saturday, take American Airlines flight, fly in Saturday. And then you have business interest in.
Aaron Weber
That, or was it just like the hang.
Nate Bargetzi
He just liked it. No, I mean, because he hasn't. You would think he's like, host there. And he's been. He was going to do a cameo there and they. In the Close Encounters thing, but then they kind of. I think they kind of pulled it. I think he wanted to sit. It was a very funny line.
Dusty Slay
Live.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Well, I watched when they do the rehearsals of the Close Encounters with Kate McKinnon. She's the funniest person ever. And so they had it. They brought him in. They go. They go. And special guest, the director of Star Wars, Steven Spielberg. And he. And since Steve. Story goes, you wouldn't believe how many people come up to you, I'm sure. And thank God did Star Wars.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
But. Yeah. So he. You thought he would be on the show. He just been going to the show.
Dusty Slay
Just a friend of the show.
Nate Bargetzi
A friend of the show had one cameo, Loves it.
Brian Bates
It's very interesting. He went all the first season because that show was nothing.
Dusty Slay
It wasn't very good.
Brian Bates
People just thought it.
Dusty Slay
I have it on dvd.
Brian Bates
I watched them. They showed the first episode Saturday night.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Brian Bates
It's not good. But that was just a filler show that nobody thought would go anywhere.
Nate Bargetzi
Mm.
Dusty Slay
But it would probably be fun to see live.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, yeah.
Dusty Slay
You know.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. If you got to know them, everything's, you know, that's like.
Dusty Slay
When you see Paul Simon, I think, was the second musical guest.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Yeah. It's really great.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. That was a funny line. When for them, Sabrina Carter, she goes, I played 1960 because I wasn't born. Neither were my parents. Yeah, that was very funny.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
I don't know if that's true. It might be true.
Aaron Weber
You know, I bet the math checks out.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. I mean, I'm 79. How is Supreme Court 20?
Aaron Weber
She's probably a little older than that, but. Yeah.
Brian Bates
So you said you met Eddie Murphy. What was that like?
Nate Bargetzi
So we go. So Friday night or. So Friday night was the concert. Saturday night was a. We had a couple things. Tuesday, we was. It was a toast for Lorne. So it was very cool to get invited to it because it was, you know, it was a very small group that was. Or like 100 people. But, I mean, out of the people that are going there.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
It was not a large group that was. That got invited to that. And so to go up there. And so I get up there and, you know, it's like this point before, we were going to dinner. So I'm walking. I'm supposed to go meet Spade for dinner. And I told him, like, Spade's like, are you gonna come? And I was like, yeah, I'm coming. And so he picks a restaurant because I didn't have anything. I was like, I'll just go meet you. Then we're just gonna. Let's go to Lawrence. And then Chris Rock turned 60 this weekend, and so he was having a birthday party. So we were like, we'll go to this. I know this all sounds crazy, so just bear with me that I just am talking through it all.
Aaron Weber
He just got back from there.
Nate Bargetzi
I just got back from there. I know, but I don't. People listen. I'm not anybody. I don't, you know, so. Because this, it's about to sound crazier. And then so imagine I'm coming down my hotel, about to leave to go meet Spade. Steve Martin comes in. So then we start talking. I did a corporate gig with Steve Martin and I've, you know, got to talk to him a good bit. Then Martin shorts there. They're going to go eat in the restaurant. They're, I'm like, oh, I got to go meet Spade. They're like, well, just come. They, you know, they're like, they're like, well, just come. I'll go, I'll come up there with y'all for a little bit. I'll just sit with y'all for a second. I was waiting for a car to come out anyway. And so I go up and then we sit there. And then you're sitting there and it's like, you know, just you three. Yeah. And Steve Martin's wife.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
So just me, Martin Short, Steve Martin and his wife. And they were just talking very. It's like, yeah, it's crazy, dude in a blocked off restaurant. And so we're talking and I'm like, you know, it's like, where you got to go? And I'm Spades there and I'm like, I gotta go. And then standing up, getting close to like trying to somehow get out of there because I just don't want to be rude to Spade. And then Conan comes in. Conan O'Brien. So then Conan comes in. So now it's just me, Conan, Steve Martin, Martin Short. And we're all just talking. And so, But I ended up, I was like, we hung out for a second then. So I got, I got, I got a great hang there. And then I went and met Spade and he wasn't that mad at me, but it was, I apologized very much. So then, so I go sit with Spade and then we go to Lawrence. Thank. We walk in. Everybody, you know is in there. Eddie Murphy. Chappelle. Eddie Murphy. I was like, pretty pumped about because I was like, you want to go meet him? Yeah, you know, just because it's like, I don't know, he's like, you don't see them. You don't, you know, like, you just hear the comics that know them, but then other people don't feel like, don't know them at all. So they were doing a toast and it was like Tom Hanks gave a toast and whoever. Seth Meyers, Tina Fey and then Brian, a guy worked with the NBC, gave a toast. They gave, you know, a gift to Lauren and it was, it was very. Met Kristen Wiig there. Went over to meet her. I think she's so funny.
Aaron Weber
Yeah, she's great.
Nate Bargetzi
And so went up to Eddie. Eddie was. I talked to him for. He knew me from SNL but did not know me as a. I, you know, I think he knew I was a standup maybe from snl, but he only knew me from the sketches. But was very cool, very nice. Chevy Chase yelled something out during the toast. Yeah. Is when Tom Hanks was up there and it was.
Dusty Slay
What did he say?
Nate Bargetzi
I don't. It was just. I. I couldn't really understand it. But. Well, he's. I think he's difficult. I think he's a lot and he's a lot. And he was a lot this. I think he was a lot this weekend. Yeah.
Brian Bates
He has a history of that. My. As a fan of the show, my complaint about watching last night is, and I know you can't have everybody on, but he's somebody, it seems like would have had in something.
Nate Bargetzi
He does not do himself favors. Yeah, I'll tell you that.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
I'll tell you that from. From there they brought up. I mean, they even say, like, they all go, there wouldn't be an SNL if it wasn't for Chevy Chase.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Because he was the star when. So when that show came out, he, I mean, he was a. A huge hit.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
So people were, what, tuning in, it seems like, for him.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
He was that big of a star and he left after one year.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
So he was only there one year. And so I feel, you know. But he's got this report. I think my. I might have told you when I shot my pilot, I mentioned him playing my dad or something in the P. And they were like, no, no. They go, absolutely not. And so I like, I, you know, I don't get to see like, you know, when you hear about like actors or Hollywood stuff, like, people are kind of like, act crazy.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
You don't really see it. But sometimes I do want. You're like, I kind of want to see what. What do they mean? Me too. And I saw it this weekend.
Brian Bates
That's fine.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, it was. I mean, so he just. Tom Hanks is talking. He does it to Tom Hanks. He just says, like a side Comment. We're all in this room. It's quiet, you know, and everybody's in there, has this history.
Dusty Slay
Know what he said?
Nate Bargetzi
These 50. I mean, it was. It didn't really matter. It was like just what he said didn't really matter. It was, you know, it. It was. I don't know, just like. It wasn't. It wasn't about him.
Aaron Weber
Yeah, yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
It was just something, like, at the moment, wasn't about him. And so he said something to make it about him. Yeah. And so he's standing there, and you're like. And he just sits in it. Dude, that's the craziest part, is he'll say something and then just sit in it. He doesn't, you know, you don't, like, back away. You don't, like, quietly. I mean, he's tall, his head's over everybody. He says it. No one likes it. It's obvious. No one likes it. And then he just sits. And then he just says and sits in there. And then I thought then someone was walking up to him. I thought, maybe they're going to be like, all right, why don't you just probably head on out. They brought him a chair. He sat down because they brought him a chair. He just sat down. He's like, maybe that was it. He was tired.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
But, yeah, there's like a weird, you know, history there where. Yeah, I think he's very difficult, and he can be mean or he can be people. He rubs people the wrong way and all this kind of stuff. And I know I've actually. There's comics that I have met him that know him, that have never had that experience, and they said he's very nice. So it's like one where you're just kind of outside. You're like, this is Yalls thing. I don't really know, but I did. You did get to see it a little bit. This wing, I mean, because, you know, he's just going to yell something at any point. Like, it's so. There's so Robert De Niro. He was there. Did not meet him. I made a business decision. As he walked by, I was like, I could do it.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Because he was walking right by me. We made eye contact where I was like, I could go, hey. And he doesn't. He doesn't have a vibe that feels like you want to.
Aaron Weber
It doesn't seem like he does. I bet he walks with an urgency.
Nate Bargetzi
You don't want to interrupt him. I mean, it seems to people that knew him, he seemed. He smiled and gave Hugs. And if. Yeah. If he doesn't know you, there's no. It doesn't feel. I wouldn't say it's even being, like, rude. It's just, you know, he's. He's short. He's a little bit. Yeah, he's a little bit shorter than me, but nothing insane. Like, you wouldn't be, like, blown away, but I'll show you. But he's. You know, when he goes by, you're like. You know, you just kind of let it. You're like, all right, I don't need to. You know, I mean, I thought right in that moment, I was like, all right, I could meet Robert De Niro right now.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
I could say hi. He's gonna shake my hand. Because he's gonna have to.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Even. Not that he wouldn't know me, but just. Because. What are you gonna do? But then I just thought, you know, you go. Let's just let him go.
Brian Bates
About Jack Nicholson.
Nate Bargetzi
I did not even see Jack Nicholson.
Brian Bates
He.
Nate Bargetzi
He was at. I know he was not at any of the stuff. And he came to. He came to the. You can hear the fire hydrant. Yeah, Fire hydrant. Yeah, a little bit. It's our fire hydrants here. Make noise. But he was at the show, and I know he introduced Adam. He introduced Sandler in that song, but I didn't even see him. I would have liked to seen him in person, but I didn't.
Brian Bates
I don't think he gets out much anymore.
Nate Bargetzi
I don't think he does. I mean, he's older, like. I mean. And so he doesn't go to Laker games anymore, and. But it was. It was very nice that he was there. And I think him and Sandler are very, very close. And that's cool.
Brian Bates
Yeah, they did a movie together.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Anger management.
Nate Bargetzi
Anger man. Yeah. And so him and Sandler stay. It seems like they, you know, talk to each other, and it's cool. A good bit. And so, yeah, when I was. I'm trying to think when I was up there, anything, you know, Madonna. So then I go. So then we go to Chris Rock's 60th birdie. And it's. We go in there and it's, you know, so it's everybody, you know, again, you're just the same people. Seinfeld. Like, we're all hanging out. It's Chris's birthday party. And so it was. It was very fun and cool. We're hanging out, everybody's talking, whatever. And then Madonna comes in. And so this guy. Guy. Osiri. He's her manager. And, like, he just is like, the dude. Like, he runs in everything. So I met him. So he. He was. He was. I met him with Sasha Baron Cohen, and they were all at the Cellar one night when I went up, and he. So he watched me, and then he was like. He just kept going crazy. And he's like, let me know when you come to la. And so he brings over Madonna. He was like, you got to meet this guy. So I met Madonna and she goes, what? She goes. I go, I'm a comedian. You know. You're like. And she. She goes, what's your. She goes, tell me your name, and I'll. I will go look you up. And I was like, oh, neighbor got to him. Comedian. And then we took a picture because they were just a professional photographer taking pictures. Yeah, I'm gonna try to find that picture. I don't know how to get these pictures.
Aaron Weber
Just you and Madonna.
Nate Bargetzi
It's me, Madonna, I think Guy. Her manager. But it's.
Aaron Weber
I'm gonna look through. Gabby's here in a minute.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, I don't. You know, but would it be Getty? Because it was like a private photographer. I don't know unless they were, you know, going to do it. But it was. Yeah. So she was. She was. You know, her and Cher. I told Cher hi. But I mean, you know, Cher's older. I mean, it's crazy, dude.
Brian Bates
Dusty has a crush on Cher.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, yeah.
Dusty Slay
Well, Cher and younger albums looks amazing.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
Unbelievable. Like, I had no idea. I only knew old chair my whole life.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, yeah. Look at that. Yeah. That's not us.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
But you know what? Is there a picture? Keep going, because I actually need something.
Aaron Weber
From the Golden Globes.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Is there one of me and the Rock?
Brian Bates
Well, you had one that you showed us, Matt Rice.
Nate Bargetzi
There's one with me and the Rock now. All right.
Aaron Weber
Look at you in the Rock.
Nate Bargetzi
I know there was head is God.
Aaron Weber
Well, you're next to the rock.
Nate Bargetzi
It doesn't matter. It's like the.
Dusty Slay
It's like he's leaving.
Nate Bargetzi
My body goes in and it goes back out. Like, I don't think you're supposed to do that. Your body's not supposed to come in and go back out. It's a sharp out. I look like the top of a house. My head looks like a chimney. I mean. Oh, God. I gotta get it together. 75 hard has been hard. Yeah. I can tell you that. I've not been doing it just so everybody. But I will. I am doing it starting. I'M starting again Wednesday.
Aaron Weber
Oh, it's you and baby reindeer.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, she was very nice. She's unbelievable in that.
Aaron Weber
Yeah, she's so good in that show.
Nate Bargetzi
Unbelievable. Like you just buy that. That she is the real person. Yeah. So, yeah. Anyway, so we go and do. Yeah, there was another one someone took. So then we. We're talking. So meet Madonna. And you're, you know, it is crazy. You're just like someone that doesn't even feel like a real person.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Brian Bates
So Aaron thought she was dead.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, yeah.
Aaron Weber
She's been famous for like 45 years now.
Nate Bargetzi
Hours, right?
Aaron Weber
Yeah, I mean, pretty much.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
It's crazy.
Nate Bargetzi
So, yeah. Then we go, so what is that? That's Saturday night. And then Sunday night is the show. So we've done rehearsal. We do go to rehearsal again. I mean, every night. You're not going to bed till 4, easily till 4 o'clock. And you. We go do rehearsal. Then we have the show. And so everybody saw the show. The show's great. It's fun and we all do that. And then we had, we had the after party afterwards. And I mean, we got over to. In the. We got over to it very quickly and it's, you know, I mean, it was like. I think by the time we got there, it was like probably 12 or 12:30. And then it is 3:30 within eight minutes. Like it's anybody. And you've already. Now you've been around everybody kind of all week, but they're having the, you know, the, you know, it's the, you know, the legendary. All this. Everybody's there and it's. I mean, John Kerry was there. He goes, yeah, it's crazy. And so you just all sitting. Everybody's just in the room together and they're. It's, you know, I mean, it really. I was like, what time is it? And it's. Because you're just hanging out and you're thinking it might. It could. Maybe it's 7:30.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
And it's 3:30.
Dusty Slay
You didn't black out, huh? You didn't black out.
Nate Bargetzi
No.
Dusty Slay
Okay. You said John Kerry was there and then you lost three hours.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure.
Dusty Slay
Nothing shady went down.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. John Kerry showed up. Maybe he wasn't there. Maybe he was. Maybe wasn't.
Dusty Slay
It was like a dark presence, guys.
Aaron Weber
Is it crazy? John Kerry was there last night. Are you doing all right?
Nate Bargetzi
But there it was. This is my dressing room. So they put us all in a dressing room. Very, very cool dressing room. It was not a bad group. Not a bad group. Payton, Dave Chappelle, Ray Romano and myself. Only me and Ray were in there. We used it. Peyton and Chappelle, we did not. We did not see them in our room, but we were hanging out. I. I actually got to hang out with Chappelle.
Aaron Weber
Was that the first time.
Nate Bargetzi
I mean, I've met him and stuff, but it was the first time, I think we've ever. I didn't ever really knew. He knew.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
He would always say. He'd always be like, hey, what's up? Like, the way he talks to comics. But there was never, like, any difference between me and. Just when I met him 20 years ago.
Aaron Weber
Yeah. Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
And so we actually talked this time, and he was very, very nice.
Aaron Weber
Oh, that's awesome.
Nate Bargetzi
So, yeah, it was very, very cool. And. But it was. Yeah. So then, yeah, we go to the after party. I think I have a couple videos.
Brian Bates
So there's one of Sabrina Carpenter singing a thing.
Nate Bargetzi
Sabrina Carpenter came. Came up and, you know, she jumped on stage and San.
Aaron Weber
Which is the Roots. Yeah, the Roots are the backing band.
Nate Bargetzi
Yep, yep.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
All right, cool. So. And then she related to the Carpenters.
Aaron Weber
You know, Sabrina Car.
Dusty Slay
No, but I mean, is she, like a part of the Carpenter family?
Nate Bargetzi
Carpenter, probably, yeah.
Aaron Weber
The band, the Carpenters.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
No, no, no, no, I think so. Yeah.
Brian Bates
I mean, just have been her grandparents, if it was.
Dusty Slay
Yeah, man.
Aaron Weber
I don't think so.
Dusty Slay
The last name, like Carpenter.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. The music. I'm sure she is.
Dusty Slay
Let's just ask that, at least.
Aaron Weber
I'd like to find this out. Yeah. She has, like, three or four of the biggest songs in the world right now.
Nate Bargetzi
No, she was born in 99, so truly, her parents. If she was born in 99, her parents. If they had her at.
Brian Bates
If they were. Had her at 20, they'd have been born in 79.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. So even, like, if they're born in 77, they were 23.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
So very easily. Yeah.
Aaron Weber
She is the niece of the voice of Bart Simpson.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, wow.
Aaron Weber
Isn't that weird about that?
Nate Bargetzi
So, yeah, she got up and saying, Brandy Carlisle, who I set in front of. Or she said in front of me at.
Aaron Weber
She's unreal.
Nate Bargetzi
She's unreal.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
She really got this party started, so everybody was, like, hanging out, talking, and then they, you know, they have it in there where everybody's gonna go and play and no one. It wasn't really playing. They were like, Questlove was DJing, and then everybody's going in there. It was like, all right. And then Busta Rhymes got up there and so you're like, oh, here we go. And then, I'll be honest with you, he talked for quite a while. He just started talking, and everybody. And everybody's like, all right. Everybody's like, all right, all right. And then, I mean, he did, like, one little. I. I played. I don't know if he did one little song, but really did not do. And then she got up and sang this and this, like, got it rolling. And so this was when the. When I forget what she's saying, but it was, you know, it was, like, awesome. And she's. She's. Yeah. Unbelievable. She was. She was. Yeah. Very, very nice. And. Yeah, that was it. And we were trying to even met Emma Stone, which I was excited about. Oh, yeah, she's excited. Yeah, she's very cool. Yeah, because she seems cool.
Aaron Weber
She seems like a normal.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, seems like a normal person. And she definitely. She definitely was. She had a dress that had, like, these pockets that were built in. And when she showed up at snl, they poured. She had popcorn, corn poured.
Aaron Weber
I saw that. Yeah, I saw a picture of that.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Yeah. And then. So. But she was awesome. And kind of.
Dusty Slay
That's kind of your thing with the hoodie.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, that's right.
Aaron Weber
Yeah. That's the next step.
Nate Bargetzi
This would have been your. Yeah. So, yeah, you know, I'm sure I'm missing some people told to ask about.
Brian Bates
The singer in the restaurant.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, yeah, I have a video of that. We'll go at the restaurant we're eating at. Look at this guy. So he's singing quietly. So there's. If you can't hear, there's. So the funniest thing is that restaurant's where I was eating with Martin Short in them. And we walk back there, and no one's back there. And Martin Short, he goes, hey, I just have one question. He goes, this is not going to be in use tonight. And they go, no. And he goes, thank you. Which is very funny because, you know, you, like. You see a piano, you're like, I don't want this piano playing. And he was like. He was. I mean, he was, like, joking about it, but he was like, yeah, no one wants a piano. Like, but this guy, this is brunch. And he sings, and I just thought it was impressive. I actually liked it. He kind of sings like, kind of back and quiet. Like it was quieter than a radio.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
And it wasn't as. Invasive. Is that the word?
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. So I thought that was pretty fun.
Aaron Weber
Yeah. Intrusive.
Nate Bargetzi
Intrusive.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
And invasive either works I would say intrusive is probably more appropriate. Is it invasive, a surgery?
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
But they invade.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
It kind of looks like the comic Kellen Erxon does.
Aaron Weber
He does a little bit.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
About that.
Nate Bargetzi
Right. I like that. He's like. Makes a face, he leans back. It's like. The whole point of it is, I'd imagine when he tried out Ray Charles, things going. Yeah, we tried out for this gig. They go. I mean, they go. We want no noise.
Dusty Slay
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
And you could have a normal. It was better than if you had music playing on the. This guy. I was very impressed because it was nice to have some kind of. You have music and you. I mean, at first you're like, oh, my God. Because everybody everywhere is so loud.
Aaron Weber
It's crazy how loud it is.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Places. Yeah. Do you want you. I guess you don't want us to talk.
Nate Bargetzi
No, no. I think they want people to leave.
Dusty Slay
Yeah, I don't.
Nate Bargetzi
I think they don't want you to.
Aaron Weber
Every store just wants you to leave. The restaurant wants you to leave. Nobody wants you in there.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Dusty Slay
They don't even want you to buy. It's just a storefront for you to buy online later.
Brian Bates
Was Dana Carvey there?
Nate Bargetzi
He was not.
Brian Bates
I mean, he's one of my all time favorites and I don't think they showed him. Well, I mean, they showed.
Nate Bargetzi
They showed the church lady.
Brian Bates
Yeah, they did, but he wasn't in.
Nate Bargetzi
I don't think he. I think. I don't think he. He just couldn't make it. I think he was invited. Supposed to come. Yeah, he just. Something. He couldn't make it. It was a lot of that. Like some. I mean, not everybody can make it there. And you know, and they did the 40th 10 years ago, so.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
But it's interesting because it's like that was the 50th Lawrence coming back and it's. You know, you're like, all right. I don't. I mean, what are you going to do? Like, this was a kind of a big blowout. I mean, you can't be like 56 or something or. And Lauren wants to. I mean, dude, he wants to work. I mean, that guy is up. Like he. I left before him and we let. I got. I got back to Hotel 4. I think he's 82.
Aaron Weber
Yeah. Wow.
Nate Bargetzi
But I got back at 4am and which was that. Was that today was like we had to get up at 9. I didn't go to sleep till like, if. I'll sleep like five. Something nine. I mean, I mean, it's just.
Aaron Weber
What a crazy weekend.
Nate Bargetzi
But. Yeah, I know. It was just a lot of me talking about this week.
Aaron Weber
No, I wanted to hear about it. I didn't even know you were at this thing. I'm watching it with Lucy. All of a sudden, you just stand up. I was like, what?
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, yeah.
Aaron Weber
I was like, this guy's everywhere.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Laura was texting Lucy all Lucy loves all the SNL stuff.
Aaron Weber
This is what got her into comedy. I mean, she got emotional watching you talk to Amy Poehler and Tina Fey.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
I mean, we have little, like, dolls of them at our house from when she was in high school.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
And then you're talking to her. I mean, it was crazy.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, it's crazy. Yeah, it was. Yeah. I mean, look, it. To get to be any part of the show is unbelievable. And that's why I was invited to all this stuff. And it's like, where you do go, you just kind of like, in a little bit, like, you're there, but then you're also trying not to be because you're like, this is a history of. People have 30 years with this show and 20 years and all this.
Aaron Weber
That's the way to be. You don't want to come in and.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
The opposite is like, golly, you know.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, yeah.
Aaron Weber
Nate's a nightmare dude.
Nate Bargetzi
Just.
Aaron Weber
He only hosted this twice.
Nate Bargetzi
He hosted twice and he thinks I go, when was the last time Meryl Streep's been here? That was the first time she's ever been there.
Aaron Weber
Really?
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
I would assume she hosted it 15 times.
Nate Bargetzi
I don't like that. Huh?
Brian Bates
I don't like that.
Nate Bargetzi
Why?
Brian Bates
Because she gets to be in a sketch and she's never even been on the show where there again, some of these favorites of mine that didn't get to do one.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Like, who didn't get to do one?
Brian Bates
Well, he wasn't there. David. Dana Carvey. Chevy Chase.
Nate Bargetzi
Again, these. So you're. Chevy does not do. Bill Murray did a thing. Bill Murray was there.
Aaron Weber
He shouted out Chevy Chase, too. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Brian Bates
And was Jane Curtain there?
Nate Bargetzi
Who is it?
Aaron Weber
Chevy Chase or Chevy Chase?
Dusty Slay
Chevy. Chevy.
Nate Bargetzi
Chevy.
Brian Bates
Jane Chase.
Nate Bargetzi
Jane Curtain. I don't.
Brian Bates
One of the original.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, Coneheads. Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Brian Bates
They did a SNL leading up to it, did a bracket where people got to vote on all time greatest character.
Aaron Weber
And George Washington one.
Brian Bates
No, but there was some on there that, when it first started that you could argue, you know, should be on there before. Before that one. And I'm trying to Blake on Bill Hader's character.
Aaron Weber
Stefan.
Brian Bates
Stefan won.
Aaron Weber
Won the whole thing. Yeah.
Brian Bates
I think there's some recency bias.
Aaron Weber
Oh, for sure.
Brian Bates
I think he beat out Chris Farley's man down by the river.
Aaron Weber
Okay. Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Well, he only did that one. Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Stefan came back a lot.
Brian Bates
Stefan wasn't a lot. He did more than once. But.
Nate Bargetzi
But.
Brian Bates
But wasn't a lot. But yeah, there's so many iconic, you know, Wayne's World and.
Nate Bargetzi
And yeah.
Brian Bates
Things like that.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah. I was thinking about that this weekend about this show is like. Because, you know, when they go back and show highlights of it and all this stuff, it tends to be that error of those guys. Like the.
Brian Bates
I saw a documentary on SNL and one of the producers said everyone's favorite cast is the one from your junior year of high school or junior high school because that's when you're most into that type of humor.
Dusty Slay
I guess. So. I mean, yeah, it was the David Spade, Chris Farley, Mike Myers, Phil Hartman era for me that I. That I love.
Nate Bargetzi
But I mean, don't you think, like, is there a lot of reoccurring characters now as there were back then? I mean, Domingo, I guess, you know, that Domingo thing is. Is kind of came back. I mean, I've done Washington twice now.
Aaron Weber
Yeah, yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
But is.
Aaron Weber
Three times, basically.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, yeah. But it's. Yeah. So I wonder, you know, it's like when you would see. I don't know, it was when they. Even when I was watching the highlights, they really show. It's heavy from one kind of big era. It's like the Tina Fey, Wolf, Farrell, Spade, Sandler, like all in that kind of chunk is Kristen Wiig, Sudeikis and you know. But yeah, I mean, I mean, look, I think it's a show that can. There's no show like it there. TV needs a show that's been on.
Aaron Weber
Forever and it's an American institution.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, it really is. And it's. It's about the only place developing the last.
Aaron Weber
Shut up.
Brian Bates
What is it?
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah, Cross section.
Aaron Weber
The last great. It's the last great American entertainment institution.
Nate Bargetzi
No intersection of cross section of America.
Aaron Weber
It's definitely not that.
Brian Bates
Who do you think is the most famous person to ever come out of snl?
Nate Bargetzi
Sandler.
Aaron Weber
Yeah. Adam Sandler.
Brian Bates
I think I might say Eddie Murphy.
Dusty Slay
Mike Myers is Mike Myers too, with Shrek and Austin Powers. I mean, Shrek alone is, you know.
Brian Bates
Yeah, he's up to be Eddie Murphy.
Aaron Weber
I don't think he recognized as Shrek, though. I Know that he is Shrek, but.
Dusty Slay
You know what I mean, it's not Wayne's World. Austin Powers.
Aaron Weber
Eddie Murphy was in Glorious bastard shirts. He's in that first scene.
Brian Bates
I mean, Chevy Chase was pretty big back in the day.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. But I mean, overall, Eddie. I mean, it could be Eddie Murphy or Sandler, I would think Sandler is just. He was there longer, more associated with it, and he is enormous.
Aaron Weber
Yeah.
Dusty Slay
David Spade too, though. I mean, he's had many TV shows, been around, been lots of. I mean, I guess he's in all the Sandler movies, but.
Brian Bates
Well, there's so many Will Ferrell. I mean, there's just a ton of.
Aaron Weber
Forgot about Will Ferrell. Yeah, there's a lot. Very cool that you were even at this thing, let alone.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Part of it, so.
Nate Bargetzi
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, it was. Yeah, it was a wonderful, wonderful weekend, so.
Brian Bates
All right, well, this weekend I'm going to be in Mars Hill, North Carolina. It's very similar to what you just went through.
Nate Bargetzi
Yeah. Yeah, it goes. Good night. Easy to drive tour.
Brian Bates
Yeah. I'm trying to get away from that, but I am driving there. So you are correct. Then March 7th, Bozeman, Montana.
Dusty Slay
All right.
Aaron Weber
Oh, nice. Last, best, last.
Brian Bates
Best comedy club.
Aaron Weber
That's all. You're gonna love it.
Brian Bates
March 12th, I got my mix, Brian Bates and friends here at Zany's. And then that weekend, whatever that is, the 14th, 15th, I think, off Cabot Comedy Club in Beverly, Massachusetts, just outside Boston.
Aaron Weber
Beverly.
Brian Bates
Yeah. First time I've ever done stand up in.
Aaron Weber
Wait, when is that?
Brian Bates
March, I think March 3, 14, 15, maybe.
Aaron Weber
Okay.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
Long as it's not the same weekend I'm in Boston. That. That would stink.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Aaron Weber
But this weekend, Aaron Weber here at Tacoma, Washington, at Tacoma Comedy Club. Five shows, one of them sold out. All right, already. So get tickets coming to one of those. And then Sunday, Spokane, Washington, at the Spokane Comedy Club. So a little. Little Washington run. Come see me on the West Coast. Thank you.
Dusty Slay
Okay, I got four shows before I record my special. I have this weekend, Boise, Idaho. I think it's already sold out, but try to get some tickets. Saturday, Salt Lake City, Utah. And then I have Tuesday the 25th, I'm at the Villages in Florida. And then the 26th, I'm here at Zany's. And then the 28th, two shows, filming my special Love. So it's gonna be in Chattanooga. It's gonna be Walker Theater.
Aaron Weber
It's gonna be.
Nate Bargetzi
Gonna be hot. Yeah. And the cruise, I believe the cruise is. Might be sold out if it's not. That's what I heard, but it's. Yeah. And we so get on that. We still have, uh, more. More stuff. We're now gonna start announcing. Still got some people on the shows that we're going to that we haven't announced yet. And then there's, like, I think some of the games are, you know, they're just kind of a little bit slowly or slowly play out like what you're going to be seeing. That's a Nateland cruise, but, yeah, can't wait for that. All right, well, happy President's Day. Happy President's Day, George Washington.
Brian Bates
Yeah.
Nate Bargetzi
Thank you very much. Done a lot for this country. Happy. Yeah. All right, we love you. See you. Bye.
