A
Hey there.
C
I'm Sophia Kristen.
D
And I'm kp. Welcome to the Nightly from Hatch. A slumber party for pop culture lovers.
C
And it's not just a slumber party tonight, friends. It is our 300th time having a slumber party in this here pillow fort.
A
It's basically a birthday.
D
I know.
C
Yes.
A
We're 300 episodes old.
C
It's incredible.
A
It is incredible.
D
I know. I'm thinking back to all of the things we've spoke on, all of the perfect opinions we've had, all of the
C
dream vacations that we've taken.
D
Oh, my God. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
C
All the debates, smackdowns we've had, all
A
of the huge fights that we get in that get cut. Obviously, I know.
D
What are ones that stand out to you. I'm trying to think of what my favorite things have been.
A
We had a lot of fun doing the Hatchies, kp.
D
The Hatchies was goof central.
C
I loved the first time, Sofia, you and I ever tried to recap a movie together that we hadn't seen since.
D
Oh, that's right. A good one. Yep.
C
We did Finding Nemo, and neither of us had seen it in, like 10 years.
A
Tried our very best. There were a lot of holes. Yeah.
D
I think Jack Keith did The Santa Claus 2 recap for me, and that was really interesting because I had never even seen it the first time, so that was kind of beautiful. I just thought, sure.
A
You're like, you have to be right.
D
Yeah. All the guests we've had also, I really was cracking up at some of these lovely guests. Honestly, all of them have been just really quite funny and fun.
A
Just a dream.
C
And then also just some of the really soothing episodes. Like, kp, you and I have had so many fun dream vacations we've come up with.
D
I know.
C
And one thing I love about you, kp, you're not one of those people who wants to be in a tent on a dirt floor.
D
No.
C
Like me, you want running water.
D
Listen, I like camping, but usually I feel like every time we do a dream vacation, I'm like, it's the girls. We're aligned. We're hanging out together and we're near some sort of lake.
A
Yeah. Yes.
D
I'm like, that's just sort of all I need for a dream vacation.
C
Yes.
A
I need my girls and a body of water. And I'm ready To freaking rumble.
D
That's really it.
A
Yeah.
D
We're obviously so excited to be in the 300th episode, and we're mostly so excited because we get to bring it to y' all, the listeners.
A
Yeah.
D
You are really so kind and awesome sauce.
C
Yes.
D
You're really awesome sauce for all of us.
A
We simply couldn't do it without you guys. And you're awesome sauce as hell.
D
You're totally epic balls.
A
You are freaking amazeballs. Your random sauce.
C
We do have the best listeners. They are the best.
A
I know. They're so sweet.
D
And we actually have. The listeners have sent some amazing emails. So I want to read a very fun email from a listener, Olivia. It says, hi, Hatch. My name is Olivia, and I just wanted to say I love hi, Hatch.
A
I know. It's like talking to your robot.
D
Hi, Hatch.
A
Hello, Roomba.
D
My name is Olivia, and I just want to say how much I love listening to you guys at night. One of my favorite games to play with my friends is most Likely two, and I think it would be so fun to hear you all play too. Love, Olivia.
A
Oh, my God. Thank you, Olivia, for listening.
C
Such a sweet note, Olivia.
A
And so I think we're gonna play Most Likely too, but we'll do all of the nightly hosts as options, so we can choose whoever. Whoever sounds most likely to. Okay. Who is most likely to bring the best snacks to the sleepover?
D
Oh, I honestly would say Kristin.
A
I could see that.
C
Oh, my gosh. I'm so honored that you think so.
D
Yeah. I just feel like you would really be thoughtful about the choices, and I just trust. I trust that you would make all the right things happen with that.
A
I could even see you, like, making something yourself, and I'd be, like, so floored by that.
C
This is such an honor that you think I'd be most likely to bring snacks. I really do love to bring snacks. I love to eat snacks. I love to put out a big display of snacks. Perfect. Have some salties, have some sweets, but also have some sours. Literally, you know?
A
Okay, next. Most Likely, too. This one scares me a little bit. Who's most likely to start a deep 1am philosophical conversation?
C
I'm gonna say Jackie.
A
I kind of feel like it could be Jacquis, too.
D
I was thinking Jackies. I was thinking Jacquis, and I would be up for it. Like, I'm. Like, I would listen.
C
Yeah, I'm taking it.
D
I would listen. I would give my thoughts.
A
Yeah.
C
I. I feel like he's gonna look at the stars and tell you Something about how we're all made out of star stuff. He has legit done that with me before. Or he's going to, you know, go down a path that starts in his hometown in Chicago and end with why grandmothers changed the history of America.
A
Yes.
C
He's that guy who will do that.
A
I feel like he knows so much.
D
Right?
A
Yeah, yeah, I think that's right. I know it's not me. I'm not starting a 1am philosophical conversation. That's all. I know that for sure.
D
No, I mean I'll, I'll, I'm joining in and I'm excited, but I, I really am not. I'm not trying to usually deepen a party. I usually keep it quite light.
A
We're keeping it light. And I would love Jacques to teach me. I want him to teach me about the secrets of the universe. Obviously.
D
Yes. Okay.
A
That was, that is easy. That was settled. Who's most likely to go fall down a three hour Internet rabbit hole?
C
You?
A
Yeah, it's me.
D
I think so. Sophia. Yeah, yeah. That's just. That one's, that one is that. I think I'm really. When you give zeitgeists to us, I go, yeah. I mean there's some overlaps and then there's some brand new things to learn, which I love.
A
I'm talking about stuff you've never even heard of.
D
I go, oh, wow, that's a niche community for sure. And just tell me, tell me what their deal is.
A
It just. I love. And I actually was thinking the other day I was like, I feel like I just haven't been doing this enough lately. I just love truly like an hours long hyper fixation on the Internet and maybe it's like I haven't been doing that as much. Maybe it's a sign of something good. Honestly, it's like your mental is better or something. That's like I'm not getting as transfixed and sucked in but God, it feels good to just really hone in on something and go absolutely crazy.
D
Totally.
C
You're so good at it.
D
I was going to send you. You know I went off on that woman growing her own dress. I was going to send you.
A
Her video popped up and I, I'm being dead serious. Send that to me.
D
I know.
A
I was like,
D
I was like, sometimes I'm like O Sophia, really interested or did we just have to fill time in the, in the.
A
I'm interested and I go home. I'm interested. That woman is weird and I'm interested in her.
D
Okay.
A
Okay. Most likely to Go off script immediately for me. That's Matt.
C
Yeah, that could be.
A
Because sometimes I'm like, we're doing it and I'm having so much fun. Like, and I'm happy to do it, but I'm like, we did not even go over any of this stuff on the itinerary.
D
No. And he's got. He's so deeply unplugged into Internet rabbit holes. I would sometimes when I'm like, okay, and then we all know about this thing. He's like, I've never heard of that. And then I'm like, okay, well, I have to tangent out for a second. And then it's like, we've never actually made it back to what it was because I was explaining what a labubu is.
C
Crap.
A
I just spent 24 minutes explaining what a lububu is to Matt.
D
And to do that, I had to sort of explain the history of, like, collectible dolls. I mean, it was tough, but he
C
will whip out that village newspaper and just start. And what's in the village paper will be fantastic. But it might not at all be the thing you were supposed to talk about with him today.
A
I'm happy. As long as we're chatting, I'm content.
C
He always puts me in a really relaxed mood no matter what.
A
Okay, who is most likely to forget that we're recording?
C
Hmm.
A
I feel like, is it Jacques or is it me or something?
D
It could be Jacquis. I feel like it's me. I know. I read that novel Silence.
A
I'm like, it's me.
C
Oh, is it all of us? And we just don't want to admit it.
A
I think forget we're recording.
D
Maybe it's all of us. That one could maybe go to all of us. Not Josh. Josh is responsible.
C
He's so responsible. He is. But maybe one way that all of us might forget we're recording is because sometimes we'll just have fun and we'll forget sometimes. And like, oh, no, absolutely. We might swear a little bit or do something because we'll totally forget we're recording because we're having a good time.
D
Or when it gets on Spooky or Food Talk, I'm like, I'm sorry, I have to finish this thought. And the thought might be 15 minutes. And I know we're not allowed to talk about it.
A
I do have about a 20 minute diatribe on ghosts that I need to finish out and then we'll get back
D
to the main event. I know.
A
Okay, who's most likely to appear on a reality show, to me, that's kp. Because you do it even in your free time.
D
I'm campaigning for this one. Yeah.
C
Doesn't Josh already host a reality show?
A
I mean, I'm talking Survivor, obviously, because you play. You play in real life.
C
Okay. You're not talking, like, taskmaster, which Josh hosts live.
D
Oh, sure.
A
I guess it's. It's Josh. But if we're talking.
D
I need this. I'm sorry, Kristen. I really need this. I have to stop you there. I mean, Josh isn't even here. Please.
A
Josh is not here to defend himself. It's kp.
D
I. I've never wanted anything.
C
You're gonna be on the kind of reality show, though, where you're gonna be so sweet and appealing to people and then stab them in the back.
D
Exactly.
C
That's what I want you to be doing, kp. That's.
A
And you've been training for it, where
C
everyone's like, oh, she's the sweetest, most trustworthy. Oh, we don't suspect her. You get them all. When they're sleepy, you take them all down. Yeah.
D
And Josh could never say it.
A
Josh could never.
C
No, Josh can't do that.
A
Thank you.
C
I don't think Josh can be sleepy. He's just too nice.
A
I know. Which is. Okay, so the next one, actually. Exactly. Is who is most likely to fall for obvious clickbait. And I do feel like it's Josh simply because he's so pure of heart that I just feel like he could be so open to the world.
D
Yeah. I think if there was some. Some sor. Of, like, new basketball shoe or something. I don't know. Some basketball. He loves his shoes. And I think he could never think of a click. Like, it's like he just wouldn't think.
A
Yeah, exactly.
D
So he's like, why would others.
A
I would never do that. So why would someone else do clickbait? Okay. Most likely to say. Okay, here's my final thought. Five times.
D
Oh, my God. This is truly all us. But this is absolutely all of us. I know that.
A
I don't know if there's someone who jumps out. Unless once again, I'm like, is it me? Like, whatever.
D
I think you not like so much more than others, but I do think that you and I can really get to chat.
A
I have. And another thing. Disease.
D
And on that note.
C
And one last thing. And just to wrap up.
D
Yeah.
A
Really quick, I have one more thing I need to say.
D
Okay. This is, like, most likely to have heard of it. This is, like, sometimes there's emails that come to us, where it's like, oh, has anyone heard of this thing? Or heard of this thing they want to talk about? Or this thing? And, like, half of them, I'm like, that's just not what I'm tuned into. And I'm going to give this one to Kristin.
A
I was just going to say the same. I feel like you've heard of everything.
D
You've heard of it. There is really any book, any sort of. Like, you're bringing up celebrity memoirs that I'm like, not only do I not know the memoir, I don't know the celebrity, and you've read every page of it.
A
It's amazing.
C
I love trash.
A
I consume a lot.
C
Dumb reality shows, almost as many as Sophia. I read a lot of books, many of which are trashy. I see a lot of movies. Yeah. I watch a lot of Bridgerton.
D
You've got a lot. Your depth of pop culture is very.
A
It's coming across your desk. A lot of things are coming across your desk.
D
Yes, yes, yes. If it's. If it's been made, Kristen's gonna know about it.
A
Yeah. Yeah.
C
I love it. And then I can just tell people, oh, sorry, I'm working right now. I can't.
D
Yes.
C
I can't do that thing now. I'm working.
D
Honestly, it feels so good.
C
And by working, I mean I'm watching Love Island.
A
Yeah, of course.
D
My confession, I did say, okay, the Oscars. I'll watch that. And I got put on an Oscars episode. I gotta let you guys know, I didn't watch the Oscars.
C
You did so well on that episode, Kate. Thank you so much.
D
Yep. I can lie.
C
I never would have guessed because on that episode, you sounded. You sounded so tuned in. You really did. You had opinions. You had. You had hot takes. You were great on that.
A
That's good. I go, dad, yeah, that's that improv training.
D
I was like, ooh, I was supposed to have watched that, wasn't it?
A
I did have a friend over the other night who we were gonna watch something, and I was like. And then we were talking about. We were doing the next day, and I was recording my other podcast, which is, of course, a Vanderpump Rules Rewatch podcast. And I was like, well, tomorrow. I was like, tomorrow I have to. She was like, tomorrow, I have to read a book and then record my podcast. I was like, tomorrow I have to watch an episode of TV FMO and record my podcast. And then she was like. She was like, oh, we could just watch that now. And I was like, no, we actually can't because I have to, like, sit with it and take notes. And she was like, that's crazy. I was like, I know, I know, I know.
D
This is the toughest job in the world. Sorry, everyone. So we actually did get an email from another listener, Gigi.
A
Hello, Gigi.
C
I love that name. So cute.
D
I know.
A
It is so cute.
D
Thank you, Olivia, for that, most likely. That was really fun, by the way. And Gigi has their own question, and it says, thanks for the laughs. I enjoy. All of the hosts would be fun to learn more about their careers outside of Hatch. And Josh and Matt actually already answered this on their episode, but now it is our turn. Sophia, what do you got?
A
Well, okay, as I just said, I basically am podcaster as career right now. I. I mean, I'm a comedian, and I'm also a writer, and I want anyone who is inter. I want people to really heed that, reach out. If anyone is interested, I am looking for representation. I am writing a feature right now, and I do have a sample. Thank you. And if you guys cut that, that's also completely fine and normal, but I'm just gonna put it out there. But, yeah, I'm a comedian and I'm a writer, but I do make basically money podcasting. We do this. And then I have another podcast with my friend Hannah where we rewatch Vanderpump Rules. It's very recent for me, and I feel like I live. Live an extremely charmed life is what I'll. I'll say about it. I. I have many blessings.
C
And everyone check out Sophia's stuff. It's so good. Sophia, remind people of what the actual name of your other podcast is.
A
My podcast is called I'm the Devil, and that is a quote from the show. And whenever I say it, I'm like, it's Satanic. No, it's Stassi. To Jack. She says, I'm the devil, and don't you forget it.
D
Oh, my God. She's incredible. She's really incredible.
A
She is a star. She is a star.
D
They don't make them like that. I mean, we've talked about it, but they just simply don't make them like that.
A
And she's trouble. She's trouble. She's incredible. I love her.
D
Every single one of them is really troubled.
A
Yes, yes. They're all highly troubled, obviously individuals. And we are working our way through that show. It's an amazing show. We're on season four right now, and
C
that's that kp, what about you?
D
Okay, I'm Also a comedian and creator online, which is fun. And recently though, I'm doing. I got a nice big old hefty copywriter gig. So I do enjoy copywriting. That is my, you know, basis of life. And I'm writing copyware for an underwear company which has been really fun.
C
Do you get free underwear in exchange for your work?
D
I have many pairs of this underwear.
C
Yeah. Nice.
D
It's pretty good. No free promo, but it's great underwear. That's it.
A
Kristin, do you want to let us know? I feel like you have the most like, illustrious career. I'm like, you do so much.
C
All of us do. Everybody on the nightly. We have many, many hats that we all wear. So I'm a pop culture critic. I'm usually on NPR about once a month reviewing movies, TV shows and books for. And I'm a royal watcher. So anytime something goes down at Buckingham Palace, I'm on all the news outlets usually talking about it.
A
It's like the coolest thing in the world.
C
It's because Andrew's being terrible and he always is.
D
Andrew's acting up.
C
So I cover the royals. I'm also a health journalist and I host the Mayo Clinic's health podcast and also cover all sorts of health and wellness trends, everything from self help books to financial wellness. On a lot of different podcasts I appear talking those kinds of things. And then up until a week or so ago, I was hosting a recap podcast of My so Called Life, the 1990s TV show starring Claire Dane. So I was doing that as well,
A
but yeah, but did you guys just reach the end of the show?
C
We did. Cause there's only 19 episodes. It only ran for one season.
D
Oh, wow.
C
It was a great show. It was fun to rewatch it. So highly recommend watching My so Called Life, but those are the main jobs I have these days. But I am not as brave as you guys where I get up on stage and do storytelling and jokes. I've only done that once in my whole life, I think. And I was like, I am never doing that again.
A
I do feel like with standup sometimes I'm like, unless you feel like you absolutely need to do it, don't do it.
D
The last thing we need is someone that doesn't like stand up. Being a standup.
C
Yep.
D
There's too many already.
A
Yeah, that's that.
D
Okay. This is our beautiful illustrious careers. But first and foremost, we are sleep connoisseurs.
A
Yes.
D
And so I think with that, thank you so much for these emails, by the way. And you can send your own listeners or mail to thenightlyatch.co. and before you send that email, why don't you get a good full night's rest? Because I'm going to bed.
C
Yes, me, too. I'm so ready to turn in after this 300th episode.
A
I know. I can't believe it.
D
Here's to 300 more.
C
Yes.
A
Here's to 1 million more.
C
May the slumber party never end.
A
Literally. We'll be locked in the pillow fort for the rest of our lives. Thank God. So, yes.
D
Nowhere I'd rather be.
C
Yes.
A
I think I'm gonna. I'm also gonna hit the hay. Good night, you guys.
D
Good night.
C
Good night, Sweet Dre.
D
Sam.
