Cathy Kelley
There you go.
Nicole Garcia
Foreign.
Cathy Kelley
Welcome back to another episode of the Nikki and Brie Show. And I'm not doing a solo episode today. Instead, I'm a partner in crime. Don't tell Nikki, but my hubby, Brian.
Nicole Garcia
Am I a partner in crime?
Cathy Kelley
Actually, you're not.
Nicole Garcia
I feel like you and Nicole are partners in crime.
Cathy Kelley
Yeah, crime and wine.
Nicole Garcia
And I'm just a partner.
Cathy Kelley
Yeah, you're just a partner. Just my partner.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah.
Cathy Kelley
But, Brian, I'm actually. I feel like you haven't done the podcast for a long time, right?
Nicole Garcia
Oh, it feels like it was yesterday to me.
Cathy Kelley
No, no. Oh, wait. No, you weren't. Have you done it since? We do it now out of our office.
Nicole Garcia
I don't know.
Cathy Kelley
I feel like you have sat on the couch. Yeah.
Nicole Garcia
Oh, you have sat on the couch. I think you were just sat on the couch. Of course I was just on it recently. I'm on it like.
Cathy Kelley
No, you're not.
Nicole Garcia
Every other week also.
Cathy Kelley
We're just gonna get straight into it. But you all see that I have a new YouTube series out. Hi, my name is Bri. And so far we've been doing. We wanted to kick off with the chickens because everyone loves hearing about our girls. And I will say this before we get into it, of what the series is about. How upset is everyone that Brian has not filmed with me yet? Brian, I literally.
Nicole Garcia
Why? Why would anybody be upset? Haven't I given my enough of my life to other people's entertainment?
Cathy Kelley
And you need to get more.
Nicole Garcia
Why would I need to get more?
Cathy Kelley
Well, I think people would love to see us and it's fun that when you and I are both in the garden, so. But you did make me a promise next month you would.
Nicole Garcia
I didn't say that.
Cathy Kelley
Okay, so if she makes.
Nicole Garcia
She makes things up and then she tells them to you as if they're real things and then holds them over my head. Well, we told everybody that you were going to do this thing in September.
Cathy Kelley
And I was like, he's going to. Everyone watch out. He's definitely enforcing him.
Nicole Garcia
She's forcing.
Cathy Kelley
So to film some fun things with me. Oh, you know what it was. Your idea was cute for some stuff in the fall, but I would like you on sooner. I didn't have any ideas, but anyways, so before we get into some things, I have to ask my husband about that. I was very interested what I saw this past weekend. I do want to tell everyone that I do have a new YouTube series out on the Nikki and Bri YouTube channel. It's called hi, My name is Bri. And it just kind of goes in depth with what how I live my life and the things that I love, which obviously is gardening, cooking, and, you know, you'll see me interview some cool people. You'll just see me kind of in that whole environmental space that I really love. So make sure to check it out. And we kicked it off with our first two episodes of the Chickens. I feel like, you know, you guys love my chickens, and I thought it'd be fun to kind of kick it off with that. What? I thought you were going to say something.
Nicole Garcia
No, I'm just listening like the audience.
Cathy Kelley
Oh, yes. So check it out. And Brian, we don't really have any chicken stories because I would tell you guys one. I mean, the only thing is I've Been a little upset lately because Tinkerbell has been pecking the heck out of.
Nicole Garcia
Fiddler and Fiddler's neck.
Cathy Kelley
I mean, you guys, it looked like she got a bad haircut and, like, my haircut. No, your hair actually looks better.
Nicole Garcia
No, it does. It looks. Because I have a bald spot right here.
Cathy Kelley
Yeah, we can't even see it.
Nicole Garcia
Well, because now the hair is covering.
Cathy Kelley
It, but that's it.
Nicole Garcia
But it's as if Fiddler.
Cathy Kelley
Or that's what Fiddler looks.
Nicole Garcia
This is what Fiddler looks setting that has, like, a bald spot right there.
Cathy Kelley
Yeah. And it's actually kind of confusing because I've, like, googled this, but Tinkerbell's getting a little possessive of the coop. And Tinkerbell thinks she's, like, the only hen who gets to lay eggs, and that's not it. And I'd like everyone to lay eggs. And so Fiddler's now finally laying eggs, because Fiddler wasn't. And it's very upsetting because every time I go in there, Tinkerbell, like, we'll see Fiddler in their lane and all of a sudden just come right at her and start pecking. And she, like, gets her little claws like this and pecks so hard on her head. I'm like, you're gonna kill her. And I always scream and try to, like, break it up, but I don't know. I feel like I need. Tinkerbell needs to go to, like, timeout.
Nicole Garcia
Rehab. She needs to go to rehab.
Cathy Kelley
Shannon Singings Rehab. I don't know what to do. And she lays like she's our main girl, which is why she has all the attitude. So it kind of sucks. But, you know, all the things I'm learning being a new chicken mom. But, Brian, enough about my YouTube. You know, we. I. Nikki and I were talking this, our last episode, about WWE Evolution and just her being back and raw and just all the great stuff. Stuff. But I was very eager to talk to you in this episode because I was watching AEW's All in, and all of a sudden, I see my husband.
Nicole Garcia
In the ring out there doing karaoke.
Cathy Kelley
No, I saw karaoke the night before.
Nicole Garcia
Two nights before.
Cathy Kelley
Was it two nights before? I mean, the fact you didn't do Backstreet Boys. A little disappointed.
Nicole Garcia
No, I did do Backstreet Boys. I was forced to do Backstreet Boys.
Cathy Kelley
Oh, you did? I saw Christina Aguilera.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah. I did Jeannie in a Bottle. That was what I wanted to do. I didn't want to do Backstreet Boys. I did Backstreet Boys.
Cathy Kelley
Aw.
Nicole Garcia
We did karaoke event. You know, these events are one, for our fans, but two, they're for charity as well. So the proceeds go to charity. Anyways, so the first one I did, I did. I wanted that Way by the Backstreet Boys. And so I thought, okay, for this, this one, I'm not doing that. I'm doing something different. I did Genie in a Bottle. I did it with another fan who was so much fun to do it with.
Cathy Kelley
You did great.
Nicole Garcia
He did great. And then. But Will Ospreay was there. Will Ospreay is a big star for us. He's fantastic. One of the best wrestlers you'll ever see. Like, people are just blown away by him. Anyways, I said, will, what are you gonna sing up there? He goes, oh, I'm not singing, bruv. He says, bruv, he's British. And. And I said, oh, you've gotta sing. He goes, I'm only singing if you go up there with me. I said, okay, well, what song are we going to sing? And he said, backstreet Boys. I want it that way. I was like, oh, this is one song I didn't want to sing.
Cathy Kelley
Why? You're good at it.
Nicole Garcia
Who cares?
Cathy Kelley
Because it's long.
Nicole Garcia
No, it's not long. I have these karaoke rules. There's rules to karaoke if you're glad.
Cathy Kelley
We heard these rules before.
Nicole Garcia
Really? Have we talked about them?
Cathy Kelley
I think because last time when you're on, we talked about your.
Nicole Garcia
Oh, how I serenaded you with Backstreet.
Cathy Kelley
Yeah. My friend's party.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah. And so. So, yes. So anyways. No, it is not long. It's like 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Genie and bottles. Like 3 minutes, 40 seconds. But, yeah, but.
Cathy Kelley
Okay, so how does this go, everyone? Because it looks like it's a huge, like, banquet hall. And then do people's names get pulled or how do you know?
Nicole Garcia
Yeah, no, they act. It's sold out super quick, this karaoke thing. And so what they do is they pay money to get their names put in a little bag and everybody.
Cathy Kelley
And no one knows until that you see.
Nicole Garcia
And you don't. And you don't know until you pick it. But then wrecking. No, no. But then you don't go up right away. So it's not like I'm up there by myself. I pull somebody out and then they come up and they have to sing whatever song.
Cathy Kelley
Okay?
Nicole Garcia
Like, three people go up. 3 Aw. Wrestlers go up there at a time. We each pick it, then we have, like, a song. Or two before we have to go up there. Right. So. So, yeah.
Cathy Kelley
Well, that's amazing. I'd be really nervous. I don't know what it is about karaoke. I feel like I have to be drunk. Are you allowed to drink there?
Nicole Garcia
Lots of people were very drunk. And you know me, I go up there stone sober, I was told. So in 2003, I went to England and stayed there for six months and I did the Butlands Holiday camp. So for the people who don't know what the holiday camps are, they're all inclusive vacations for, like, families mostly. And so you pay, for example, let's say. Let's say it's a thousand dollars for a week. But with that thousand dollars, you get all your meals paid for, unless you want to buy. Buy something else at, like, the McDonald's that's there or whatever. But you get. All your entertainment is included. So there's singers that come in, there's magicians, there's wrestlers or wrestling. And so, like, it'd be the middle of the afternoon or whatever it is, and you just go out there and you wrestle in front of people, most of whom are not wrestling fans. So they don't know what they're watching. They're just like, okay, I guess we're going to watch this wrestling. And so I was wrestling with a older wrestler named PN News. And he said I was there because I've always. The wrestling part of wrestling always came very easy to me. The entertainment part was very difficult for me, very challenging. And so that's one of the reasons I went over there, to become a better entertainer for people who are not wrestling fans. But this guy, PN News, who got blackballed from the American wrestling scene because he stole money out of people's bags. But by the time I was there, he, like, I loved him. He's great in the sense. Great. I really enjoyed him as a person. He still had a problem with stealing. Like, he couldn't walk into a gas station without stealing something.
Cathy Kelley
Like, that's a disease.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah. But anyways, he was. He's. He was awesome and just a really kind person, at least to me. And then. So he said, you know, if you really want to get better at this, you know, what you should do is you should go do karaoke. And I was like, what? And then, yeah, he and I would go do karaoke all the time, and then all the other guys would come and do karaoke. Well, you do.
Cathy Kelley
You are good at it. You get super into it.
Nicole Garcia
Well, it teaches you to Be a better performer, especially when you're a horrible singer like me. So when you're a horrible singer, you have to be a good performer. And I learned to become a better performer through doing more karaoke practice. Practice doesn't make perfect, but it. It does.
Cathy Kelley
Yeah. My last karaoke situation wasn't the greatest.
Nicole Garcia
I can't imagine you being good at karaoke.
Cathy Kelley
I feel like actually I am when I've had a couple drinks. But what it was for me is me and a girl picked the same song. So when they announced it, I walked up and grabbed the mic, and she did too. And I was like, whatever. I guess she's spelling it. And she kept staring at me, and I'm thinking, okay. After the song, she's like, why did you sing with me? And I was like, no, you sing with me. She goes, no, I picked the song. I go, I picked the song. And when they told us. What.
Nicole Garcia
Who was it?
Cathy Kelley
Her name?
Alana
Ah.
Cathy Kelley
I was, you know, that many margaritas in.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah.
Cathy Kelley
And I was like, well, I picked the song. I didn't know.
Nicole Garcia
I will say this.
Cathy Kelley
Your name.
Nicole Garcia
Drunk people think they're much better at karaoke than they are.
Cathy Kelley
Well, you know what? And you know what was worse about it, too? It was when that party I went to where you got to wear your PJs. You remember? I was like, oh, I got to wear PJs. And, you know, they asked PJs, no makeup. And then we all decided to go to a bar. And she was a, like, really cute college girl. Like, looked all good, and I'm in my PJs, no makeup.
Nicole Garcia
She looked great.
Cathy Kelley
Well, to you.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah.
Cathy Kelley
I'm sure nobody else in that bar.
Nicole Garcia
I'm sure you sang horribly.
Cathy Kelley
You know, I forget what song, too. It's so funny. I. What? I don't even know, but. Well, that's really fun. I love that. AEW does that.
Nicole Garcia
Oh, yeah, yeah. It's. It's super fun. And I mean, like, it's. You know, you do meet and greets and stuff like that, right? But meet and greets, you actually don't get to spend any time doing anything really interactive with the people. Like, I just did a photo op or I did a photo session, and I don't know how many people came through, but it's literally like, hey, very nice to meet you. Here we go. Picture. Jeez. All right. Yeah, thanks. Thanks for coming. And then that's it. And I always feel so bad because. But with all the people, you have to get it through and all that kind of stuff. And then. But with that kind of experience, like, we actually. I got to spend some time with him. We got to talk about the song. We got to talk.
Cathy Kelley
That's good.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah. And. And so it's like. And then I met his wife and all that kind of stuff, and they actually had signed up for the photo op the next day. So then it was really funny because they were towards the tail end, and I was like, where's my karaoke guy? I haven't seen him this whole time. And then he. Him and his wife cover it at the end.
Cathy Kelley
Oh, great.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah. Yeah.
Brie Bella

Cathy Kelley
Okay, well, let's talk about the day after or the couple days after when all of a sudden, I see you in ring okay. At all. I did not know. And then I thought, okay, maybe he's going to go in and help. Nope, I did. Well, you helped. But, Brian, I was like, oh, I know the doctor is not happy, because I need to know, were you supposed to do the moves you did?
Nicole Garcia
Well, some of them I had cleared. Some of them I did not, of course. But. But I was feeling it.
Cathy Kelley
So I was feeling it for all of you listening. Who. If you didn't watch. Aw. My husband. You know, he retired. Brian retired November, right. Or October.
Nicole Garcia
And I don't use the R word.
Cathy Kelley
Yeah. No wrestling. We. I mean, no one's truly ever retired, but. Okay. Hasn't been in ring since then. And, you know, a lot of stuff with, like, healing and, you know, where Brian is at, and the doctors just feel and list goes on. So I was dying because when he got into the ring, and then I was like, okay, did you see me.
Nicole Garcia
On my blue panther mask?
Cathy Kelley
Yes. Which I was like, so, Brian. And then when I saw you just do, like, all the different things, I was thinking to myself, like, no way. And, like, I knew Dr. Sampson was gonna be so upset.
Nicole Garcia
To be fair, he wasn't upset.
Cathy Kelley
You just thought you were an idiot.
Nicole Garcia
He did think I was an idiot. I also.
Cathy Kelley
And by the way, everyone thinks you're back because you did all that. Everyone thinks you're back.
Nicole Garcia
I'm not back.
Cathy Kelley
I know. Well, actually, to be honest, I was confused. I think I.
Nicole Garcia
You thought I was back?
Cathy Kelley
Well, I go, is there something I don't know? I'm like, tell me. He's been keeping a secret from me. And he's gonna be like, so Bri.
Nicole Garcia
Right? Yeah.
Cathy Kelley
But I was like, oh, my gosh. And then the best is I got all these text messages. People are like, oh, is Brian back? And I'm like, well, to my knowledge, no. But we'll see when I talk to him tonight.
Nicole Garcia
I'm. I'm a wild human.
Cathy Kelley
He is.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah. I can't be contained.
Cathy Kelley
No. I never know his next step. I mean, you're trying to convince me to do the indies as a unicorn. We're not supposed to.
Brian Danielson
I.
Cathy Kelley
What?
Nicole Garcia
That's a secret. You're not supposed to tell anybody. Because if we go as unicorns.
Cathy Kelley
Oh, no, it's us.
Nicole Garcia
Then everybody's gonna know it's us.
Cathy Kelley
Okay, well, now we're gonna have to pick a different animal.
Nicole Garcia
I know. You just spoiled everything that I. All my plans, all my deeds, all your plans.
Cathy Kelley
I mean, gosh, this guy. If you guys only knew. But. Well, I mean, I. The one thing I'll say is the crowd was so excited to see you back, which was really cool.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah. I mean, honestly, the crowd was great for the entire show, and they were excited to see the aw. Wrestlers and all that kind of stuff. Yeah. I mean, it's crazy because it was a long show. I think it ended up being close to seven hours long or whatever it was. And that was on last, and the crowd was still super hot. And the guy. You know, if you don't watch wrestling regularly, right. If you saw the match between Hangman Adam Page and Jon Moxley, it's like this Texas death match, and within the first three minutes, like, squirting blood out of his head. He got forked in the head. I mean, and I was just like. And even I. I was watching on the monitor, I was like, ah. I had to turn my head.
Cathy Kelley
I don't let our kids watch anything Moxley does, because I know it will be so violent. When I saw that, I'm like, wait a second.
Nicole Garcia
You are the one who turned. When I wrestled Ricky Starks in that strap match, You. You turned that on for our kids.
Cathy Kelley
Until I started watching, and I turned it off.
Nicole Garcia
But you knew it was a strap match. You get. All right, if you guys don't know what a strap match is, you're connected with a leather strap, and then you whip each other with the strap. And then she just let our kids watch.
Cathy Kelley
No.
Nicole Garcia
All over the place, and then she tells them it's ketchup. And then now we've had. We have to perpetuate that lie until the end of time.
Cathy Kelley
I know. Buddy's like. He goes, are they squirting ketchup everywhere? I'm like, actually, I took Birdie to the Shakespeare play, and it was really cute. I mean, the cook gets his arm cut off, but, like, spraying stuff and.
Nicole Garcia
Oh, it's so cute.
Cathy Kelley
No, but Birdie goes, is that ketchup? But it was, like, kind of looked like water, like, red water. But I was like, no, it's not ketchup. But I was like, oh, my gosh. When. When they're older, I'll be able to tell them, but as of right now.
Nicole Garcia
I'll show Buddy how it happens.
Cathy Kelley
No, you will not. I'll show them the magic we already deal with. Like, if you guys only knew, because there was a lot of wrestling on this past weekend, a lot that we wanted to watch, and that was at the house. Buddy got so out of control. I was like. I threatened a gazillion times. You're never allowed to watch wrestling and get like. And he gets upset because he loves wrestling. He loves wrestling. He gets wild, and, like, he gets wild at times. Sometimes he'll throw a working kick or a working punch, but then sometimes they really land on a child, and I'm like, it's just so embarrassing. It's been so hard, right?
Nicole Garcia
I described it to her as being like Sisyphus. If you don't know who Sisyphus is. Like this Greek myth about where he was punished, and he had to roll a giant boulder up. Up a mountain, and then he gets to the top, and then the boulder rolls back down, and he just has to keep rolling this thing up the mountain for eternity. Sometimes that's what parenting feels like with Buddy. Yeah, I guess. I guess more so with Buddy than with Bird. I mean.
Cathy Kelley
Yeah, but he's a lot tougher, you know? You know what it is? I was talking, actually, to my life coach yesterday about this. I'm like, he just doesn't care about my opinion and, like. And also what's right. He definitely was right or wrong. But, like, if I'm like, buddy, please don't do that. It's for your safety. He will, like, look at me and be like. Like, I will do what I want to do. Like, you know, yesterday, when he's a.
Nicole Garcia
Little bit like you in that sense, If. Okay, yeah, if there's something that you want to do, and I say, hey, I think that that's a bad idea for you and our family. Does that stop you?
Cathy Kelley
No. So I guess what it is is Buddy's my karma. But it's crazy, because there's, like, times like yesterday, literally, I'm talking to someone in the driveway, and Buddy's out there, and he's starting to walk to the street, and I go, buddy, please don't go on the street. Trucks can come by, and they get. They won't see you. And he stops, and he's looking at me. Oh, I thought he was gonna come in. He stopped, and he's looking at me. And then he takes two steps in the street and then goes Back inside. But wanted me to visually see that I will go back inside. But I wanna let you know it's not because you are telling me to. And I'm going to actually do this.
Nicole Garcia
It's my choice.
Cathy Kelley
My choice.
Nicole Garcia
It's my choice.
Cathy Kelley
I was like staring at him like, he's your choice. Excuse me. Yeah, so he just. It's like I feel like I'm just constantly. Feel like I'm repeating myself. Like, buddy, please don't. Buddy, please listen. Buddy, Buddy, Buddy. Right? All day.
Nicole Garcia
Sometimes it's that buddy. Sometimes it's buddy.
Cathy Kelley
Yeah, for sure. Sometimes I'm like, oh my God, the neighbors must think I'm crazy. But you'd be wrong. Yeah. But you know what's an episode with Brian if we don't do a book club segment? Brian. So I feel like everyone always loves to hear what you're reading. So can you let us know? What, what book is it? I'm looking at it over there and. Looks scary.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah. No. So I finished two books this week, but because Bree's family was in town, so I had a. I was reading a really short book like, oh, this is something I'll finish in a day or two. It's. It's called the Pursuit of God by A.W. to. He's like a 40s, 50s, mystic Christian preacher. And I'd read it before my 20s. I saw it when I went. It was at the house when I went to visit my mom. And I was like, oh, I'd like to reread this. And so I got it and I was like, when I finished my book before I read it. But then with Breeze family here, we're exhausted all the time. And then I get up, I'm the first one up in the house. And then I get out, I start my meditation. So this is how my mornings go. I meditate, I read, and then I start doing other things. Right. I might get through the meditation, but then I'd start reading and then one of the kids would be up. Yeah, one of the four kids in the house would be up. And then I'd be like, okay, well then you start doing that. So there's 100 and, I don't know, 30 page book, which I would normally finish in two days, was. Took me like literally a full week to read.
Cathy Kelley
Oh my gosh.
Nicole Garcia
And so. AW Tozer the Pursuit of God. Which is if you're interested in that sort of thing, you know, it's, it's. It's really good. And I don't. I describe it as fun but some people don't. So anyways, but the one that I, the other book that I finished, which is the fiction book is, and I think it won the Hugo Award last year, but I, I don't remember if it won it or if it was just nominated. But it's called Some Desperate Gory by Emily Tesh.
Cathy Kelley
Let me see the COVID of this. So that's that.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah, this is 400 something pages. But it was, it was really good and it really goes, it's a little bit of, I don't want to say an investigation. It was very eye opening.
Cathy Kelley
Like murder mystery.
Nicole Garcia
No, no, no, no. I was, you didn't let me finish my statement. But it's not her fault. I go on in circles forever without finishing an actual sentence.
Cathy Kelley
Always I feel bad because, you know, you've been married to someone for a while. I just will cut them off. I'm like, just concise like to the point, which I know can like be bitchy at times, but sometimes I'm like, and we got 10 minutes to hear every detail.
Nicole Garcia
She does, but she'd rather do something else anyways. But talking about like, it's almost like how people get involved in like radicalism, not to the extent of like cults, but how do you get brainwashed into these things? And it doesn't, you know, and it's not something that happens like right away. It's like this person that you love or, or who comes across as loving you.
Cathy Kelley
Right.
Nicole Garcia
And then if you don't have much else in your life and then you do everything that you can to please this person that you see as a parental figure or you know, some, that sort of thing and the things that you'll go through to do that and then what, what perceptions can cause that to change and how you break out of that or what, whatever. I, I, I found it to be a captivating book. Yeah.
Cathy Kelley
Just with the, it's actually interesting even like when you bring that up of how that can happen with people.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah. And as, as I was reading it, I was like, oh, I've seen this happen in my own life to me. Right.
Cathy Kelley
Like, like, what do you mean?
Nicole Garcia
I mean, I don't want to go into too many details, but I mean there's people that I've, you know, that I've loved and have protected who may or may not be good people. Right.
Cathy Kelley
Yeah.
Nicole Garcia
And so it's like, and how, how do you, how do you as a person get to that point? And oftentimes you don't realize it. Right. It's like you have to have somebody else kind of tell you. But even then when somebody tells you, it's not like you're going like, you know what? You're right. How often, how often are we wrong? And then somebody tells us that we're wrong and we just go, you know what? I'm. You're right, I'm wrong. It usually doesn't happen that way. You somehow have to come around to it through your own. Through your own ways. And as I was reading that, I was like, oh my gosh, in one section I was like, oh my gosh, this was exactly me in this scenario. How did I let that happen?
Cathy Kelley
Wow.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah. Yeah.
Cathy Kelley
It's intense.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Cathy Kelley
Let me look at this one more time.
Nicole Garcia
So. And that's one of the reasons, you know, I, I started getting more into the science fiction fantasy realm for the mo. More so for the, you know, And I know it's, it's in regular fiction as well. Not because I like, you know, like space travel or that I like, you know, dragons or anything like that, which I think some people think for, you know, when, if you, if you say that you like a lot of sci fi fantasy things, but I think the more literary versions in this space are more philosophical or introspective and that sort of thing.
Cathy Kelley
So that's amazing. And I see another book over there. What's your other one?
Nicole Garcia
Oh, that was the Pursuit of God by Ada. Okay, yeah. So.
Cathy Kelley
Well, too great.
Nicole Garcia
But, but so that one is only this, this big. This is the one that took me a week to read. And for me that's like, yeah, I should have read that in a day or two.
Cathy Kelley
But we've had a busy summer.
Nicole Garcia
We've had a busy.
Cathy Kelley
Yeah. And I, you know, it's nice because when we're up in the mountains, I have a lot of family that's always up here. So we just stay busy so much. And I feel like more the most this summer. Like, I'm like, wow. Like every day feels like, you know, a lot, but it's actually really fun. It's been really fulfilling. And Brian's been a rock star because we had a lot of my family in the house with us and, and, but we'll have your family at the end of the month, just maybe.
Nicole Garcia
But you won't be here.
Cathy Kelley
Some of it. And then I'm going to SummerSlam, so I'm actually, I'm not at SummerSlam. Well, I'm not at SummerSlam, but I will be in New York during SummerSlam. Weekend. So Nikki and I are super excited because we have a wine event, and then I'm doing something fun with DraftKings. We have follow our socials and you'll see, like, places you can come meet up with us to do some fun stuff.
Nicole Garcia
And when she says us, she doesn't mean us. She means her and Nicole.
Cathy Kelley
Yeah, Nicole and I. That is for sure.
Brie Bella
Hey, everyone. If you've been listening to the show the past few weeks, you've all heard us talking about the Airbnb Original Experience we hosted at our speakeasy tasting room, Bonita Bonita. And let me tell you, we had so much fun.
Nikki Bella
Oh, my goodness. So much fun. So, okay, we all were at, as Bree said, the Bonita Bonita tasting Room. Speak Easy. And it was so fun because everyone who was a part of the Airbnb Original Experience group started in a private tasting room with Bri and I. Well, of course, we greeted everyone with some champagne, but it was really fun because we all sat into the tasting together and we just chatted. We tasted Bonita. Bonita. And then, of course, our next special treat that made it so original and such a fun experience was Bri and I recorded an episode of the Nikki and Bri show live for all of them, which, if you haven't seen on YouTube, you can see it on YouTube. So literally, Bri and I are just doing a normal episode, but we have them set up beautifully right in front of us. And of course, we kept the Bonita Bonita pouring. And you know what I really love about it is if you go listen or watch that episode, you get to hear all the laughs, and you just realize, like, how interactive it is. And it was just so much fun. I. It felt like a live show, for one. I agree, but it was just such a great time to connect with people.
Brie Bella
Such a great time. And you know what? This summer, you're going to want to have experiences like this. Well, Brian, before we get into any inspiration affirmation, we have some voicemails. We. I love when we get our voicemails. So I say we hear our voicemails, we got four. And then you and I both can answer. Or if one feels it's better suited for one. Okay, we'll do that and then we'll get into a little inspiration affirmation.
Nicole Garcia
Okay.
Cathy Kelley
All right. Our first voicemail is from Rosalia.
Brian Danielson
Hi, Nikki and Brie. Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to communicate with you guys through here. So I'm a mom of four. Rosalia, I am calling from Yakima, Washington, and my question is. So I'm 33 years old, I'm a stay at home mom. And so pretty much that's my job, which is one of the hardest jobs ever. But my question is I would love to do something in life. I would like to have a career. I don't know what I would like to do. So I would like for you guys to help me, give me some ideas of what would you guys recommend for me to start a business of any type of business. But yeah, that's my question. Thank you so much. Love you guys.
Cathy Kelley
Love you too. You know, that's a really great question. And Brian, I'd love you to add on just from a male perspective and, and also, you know, being a parent one, being a stay home mom is the hardest job. We have actually been feeling that this summer. Like, oh my gosh, it's exhausting. But the biggest thing I would say the first thing you need to do is figure out what you're passionate about, like what makes your heartbeat, what gets you excited. And I think that's why it's really important to journal. And the best times to maybe write something down is when you feel the most happy so you could be doing something and you know when you're in complete bliss, like, you know when you're like, oh, my gosh, this is just. You're feeling it, you're feeling good. Start to write down those moments. Also write down things that maybe feel hard. And when I say that, like, there's things I might go do that I feel like it's like a struggle to get me there. It's like I'm not excited at all. Just everything about it feels hard. Obviously, that's not something you should get into, but I do feel like I would love to tell you what to do, but I, you know, want you to first kind of figure out what your passions are. And then from there, like, for me, gardening. I love gardening. Now, I don't know how to make a career out of that, but something I did figure out is like, you know what? I can share that passion with everyone by making a YouTube series. And who knows where that will go? And if it goes nowhere, it's been really fun to do. So, like, I don't know, think of something like that. Sometimes starting businesses can be hard. So maybe first, if you find a passion, go, you know, either get a job in that field or volunteer. Just fill it out for a little bit. See if it's something you really want to do. Brian, what do you recommend?
Nicole Garcia
So, I mean, it's interesting because I'm kind of in the same position, right? Where it's like, I've done this thing that I've loved forever and then. But then now it's time for me to start doing some other things, right? And what has entered my consciousness or awareness is just the idea of, I don't know what the next thing is that I'm going to be passionate about or if there will be anything ever again that I'll be as passionate about as I'm passionate about wrestling. What I can do is I can be of service to my community. And that those are. Those are easy steps. And if you. And if. And if. The idea is that, okay, being a stay at home, as a stay at home mom is hard, and it really is like, you know, and we do it together, but I mean, we're both traveling so much, and oftentimes we're on loan, parent duty, or whatever it is. But what it is is like, okay, how can I be of service to my community? How much time do I have? And in that scenario, this might not be something that when you. When. If somebody says, like, hey, do you want to go clean out the brush in the. In the forest? So that we're less likely to have wildfires. Oh, that doesn't sound. That's not my passion. But you go and you do it. One, it creates community. But two, you feel better about yourself for having done it, you know, planting.
Cathy Kelley
And you've been great about that, Brian.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah. And so it's like finding. Finding the little things that you can do to participate. And then if you have, like, an idea, this is kind of something that I was. I created what I called a triangle of purpose. And then in that they all had similar things that I needed to gain some perspective or learn some skills to do each of these things. Like, okay, what is it that would apply to all three of these things? Right? And it's like, I don't know which one of these things that I would like to do, but these are skill. This skill applies to all three. And then go. Go and. And do a course on that. Or, you know, like, I just went and did. I got my wilderness first aid certificate. And so it's like something like that. Okay, that applies to a couple different things that I'm interested in doing, for sure. And then that also applies to, okay, how could I be of service to my community if I'm out hiking? And this has happened to me where I've been out hiking or backpacking or doing whatever, and I come across somebody who's been injured or it got in a little bit over their heads as far as, oh, I didn't think this hike would be that hard. The elevation, the this, the that, whatever it is. And then you have the skill set to help them out. It's this. That same kind of thing applies, you know, whatever. Okay, I have these general things that I'm interested in. What do I need to learn to do these things? Start working on those things or start going to classes for those things. And then you might find that you have something completely different that it leads.
Cathy Kelley
You to, for sure. And, you know, I've seen some moms really help out at the school, and I'm blown away. The events they put on the. The just, like, activities, the way they keep the whole school organized, and they all do it, like volunteer work. And, I mean, it's incredible.
Nicole Garcia
And then, like, it also creates a sense of community with you and the other people, which is, you know, this is a completely different tangent, but in wrestling, you. You always. I was. When I started, you would always say, like, you know, you can either make money or make friends, right? You can't do both. With the idea being that you have to stab people in the back to get to the top. And I was like, I reject that premise entirely. Right, sure. You. That's not true. It's like, I would. And. And even now, given. If you give me that option, I would say if I. As long as you have enough money, friends are more important.
Cathy Kelley
Way more.
Nicole Garcia
And so it's like. So it's just an interesting. You know, but it creates that sense of community that. That helps you any.
Cathy Kelley
Yeah.
Nicole Garcia
In every aspect of life.
Cathy Kelley
Yeah. So hopefully that helped. Okay. Our next voice, Mouth, is from Harry, who's from Florida.
Harry
Hi, Bri. I love hearing about the chickens and how that makes you feel. This is Harry from Miami, Fort Lauderdale area. And I love hearing about the chickens. It makes me feel so good. They hear your connection with the cycle of life and how they have that symbiotic relationship. We had to get rid of our chickens when we moved to the Miami area, but we have wild ducks, and we give them water and, of course, food and things like that. And. And we've created, like, a little duck sanctuary in our backyard, and we kind of protect them from the feral cats that chill tons of wild birds every year. So that makes me really happy. Breed that. It's. It is so rewarding to see how they give back.
Nicole Garcia
Love you both.
Harry
Can't wait to come out to Napa again.
Cathy Kelley
Oh, I love that, Harry. Thank you so much.
Nicole Garcia
I wish we could have ducks.
Cathy Kelley
Me too. Okay, so I saw this video literally on Instagram of a pet duck, and seeing it waddle in the people's house was so cute. But I would love to have ducks. I feel like we could have ducks.
Nicole Garcia
I don't think. No, they need water. We would need, like, a little pond.
Cathy Kelley
Oh, yeah, you're right.
Nicole Garcia
The. We actually at our Washington place, where. Where my mom now lives, they. We had ducks there, but the HOA doesn't allow ducks. But one of my favorite things in permaculture, which is the style of gardening I like. Bree does not necessarily like it so much. Well, is. Is they say when you have, like, a lot of slugs, it's not that you have too many slugs. It's that you don't have enough ducks. Because ducks, you know, it's. The ducks eat the slugs, and it's like the. The kind of. The basis of a lot of permaculture is the idea that you incorporate things. Okay. You have weeds. You don't spray them. You. At first, you may have to dig some of them out. But it's like, okay, well, how do you naturally Repel the weeds in the sense of, like, how do you create a forest garden where, you know, okay, some. Some things that you don't want to be there are going to pop up, but how do you get more of the things that you want without putting very little. With putting very little effort in and while also, like, mimicking the natural cycles of life?
Cathy Kelley
For sure. I love that.
Nicole Garcia
Okay. I love that he has ducks.
Cathy Kelley
I know well, that they made a duck sanctuary because they're in Miami. I think that's amazing. Next voicemail is from Alana.
Alana
Hi, Bri. I just finished listening to your episode of the podcast about confidence. Also, this is Alana from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. And I just wanted to say that everything you said really resonated with me and I will definitely be taking some of your advice. But one thing that definitely popped out to me that I would love to hear more about is what other songs you would include on this playlist of yours to help with your confidence or just in general, any songs or albums that you recommend that, like, really help pump you up or even just any music suggestions. I always get tired of my own music, but, yeah, definitely anything you'd suggest, even just for working out, would definitely help. But I love you both and I hope you're having an amazing day. Bye.
Cathy Kelley
Oh, I love it. Well, so, Alana, thank you for listening to the confident episode. And, you know, it's kind of been fun because I did that episode, you know, going into the X Games and then, you know, coming out, it was amazing how great I felt doing it. And I really did feel like from that episode when I told you guys about preparing and all the different things, it really helped me. But music for sure. When I'd get ready every morning, I would play like I told everyone to see Unstoppable, but actually something that I do love. And then, Brian, you should give a couple songs. But I love no Doubt, I'm Just a Girl. It kind of makes me go back to my youth. But also I love the lyrics in there of just being a girl. But everything she says, I. I don't know, pumps me up. But I'm going to grab one of my playlist or I have some other ones. Brian, what are some songs? Why I think of some. What are some songs that help pump you up?
Nicole Garcia
So I don't. I don't listen to music to pump me up. So it's very. I have very different music tastes than Bri. Like, I kind of like. And it. It's interesting. I don't know if I Like, slow, depressing songs because I'm. I've experienced depression or if I experience depression because I listen to slow and depressing songs, I always think the same. So you don't know what's first, the chicken or the egg. But as far as, like, I like. I like songs that are. I do like songs that are uplifting in the female space. It's really interesting. I really like Anita DeFranco, and she's, like, a very, like, feminist. And, you know, in the late 90s, I really got into her music. And one of my favorite songs that I thought if I ever had a daughter. I hope my. I hope my daughter loves this song. And it's called I am Not a Pretty Girl. And it's like. And it's talking about. That's. That's not what I do. My aspiration is not to be a pretty girl. My aspiration is to be me and to be and to do these things and whatever it is. And, like, I'm not going to be subjected to what you think women should be. Right. But that's a hard thing for me. Like, it's weird to even say now in on this podcast because it's like, yeah, who am I as a man to tell women?
Cathy Kelley
No, but it's true. Those are the kind of songs you need. And I feel like lyrics are very important. Yeah, they stay with you. It helps pump you up. And like, I love music. And it's weird because I feel like every time I'm put on the spot, I'm like, oh, shoot, wait, what songs do I like? What do I play?
Nicole Garcia
Then? You know me, I love Kimmy Dawson, too, and she's big into, like, going into your own. Her own mental health and all that kind of stuff. Exploring that in her songs. Hey, I. I just. I just think it's beautiful.
Cathy Kelley
Randy Carlisle is, like, a good one. Who can. I feel like has great lyrics, but I will have to get back to you on that one. But, you know, Sia has always been one. I don't know what it is about all her music, but I dig it. And two, Sia. S I A S I A O. You know her.
Nicole Garcia
Trust me, I don't know her.
Cathy Kelley
If I played her song, you'd be.
Nicole Garcia
Like, oh, my gosh, I've never met her.
Cathy Kelley
Out of here. You need to get out. But. And then, yeah, no doubt. Gosh, what else? It's like, killing me. What can I think?
Nicole Garcia
Like Will Varley. I like Frank Turner.
Cathy Kelley
I mean, Jo. Hey by the Lumineers gets me pumped. Which Brian And I are going to their concert soon and we're so excited.

All right, here's our last voicemail from Katie.
Brian Danielson
Hi, Nikki and Bri. This is Katie from Washington. I love you both so much and thank you for all of the time you dedicate, especially to your podcast. I want to ask how you both specifically organize your time since you both have such busy lives. Thanks. Thank you so much. Bye.
Cathy Kelley
Thank you, Katie, for calling in. Brian, how do I organize my time?
Nicole Garcia
She wings it.
Cathy Kelley
Okay. I really don't.
Nicole Garcia
She does.
Cathy Kelley
I do wing a lot.
Nicole Garcia
She wings it a lot.
Cathy Kelley
But I will say this. I. Obviously I'm lucky because I have a great team that is behind me, so. And Emily, who, you know, she runs our tasting room. She's also our executive assistant, so she very much keeps me in line with everything. But I think what it is, is Nicole and I have kind of been in this world for so long that we kind of know the flow of it. We're also both. I mean, we. We kind of like, know when we want to record. We know when we need. I don't know, we just know when we need to do stuff and what our priorities are.
Nicole Garcia
And it always changes.
Cathy Kelley
It does. That's the hard part. And I told Brian. I go. The older I've gotten, I will admit the. I would say, like, the unstable calendar does start to get at me. I do like to know what I'm doing. So I try to be as the best I can to be like, okay, this is what my next three months looks like. But then all of a sudden, something comes up and I'm like, brian, are you home? Because now I need to go do this. And so it's hard. It's really hard. I guess it's, you know, never easy, but I've just had to really learn to let go and just go with the flow. And I think that's why I've been able to be successful at it, because I just know, like, okay, nothing's set in stone and something might pop up. And just like X Games that popped up last minute, I was like, okay, here we go. So, you know, I think I deal with it really well. Right. Okay, everyone. Thank you. What?
Nicole Garcia
No, I was going to say she does. You do deal with her very well. Yeah, I wouldn't deal with it very well. I. I like. I like stability. I like structure.
Cathy Kelley
Yeah. And I'll say, like, if I had the choice, I'd be like, can you just tell me what my schedule is? Tell. Thanksgiving would be really great, but that's not the career I chose.
Nicole Garcia
So then you and Nicole also randomly insert all these things into your lives.
Cathy Kelley
But it's always work. It's never.
Nicole Garcia
No, it's not. This weekend, you guys just. Oh, yeah, you guys just put that in. I know you just put it in.
Cathy Kelley
But that's, like, fun.
Nicole Garcia
But that's what I'm saying. Like, all of a sudden, it's just like, okay. Oh, my gosh, we've been so exhausted. We've been doing all these things. Whatever. Okay. We need. We just need some time to decompress. Hey, let's go do this thing.
Cathy Kelley
Or wild. Whatever. Whatever. Well, thank you, everyone, for calling in. Thank you, Brian, for last minute jumping on the podcast. I was going to do a solo episode, but I thought, oh, it'd be nice to hear from Brian. And Brian, before we do leave. Is there anything on your brain, little. Any inspiration, affirmation you've been feeling this past week? Especially because we've been with the kids 24 7.
Nicole Garcia
Oh, I haven't been with the. You've been with the kids 24 7?
Cathy Kelley
Oh, yeah. You.
Nicole Garcia
I was gone. Y. I just.
Cathy Kelley
Okay. Or anything that inspired you after all, in or.
Nicole Garcia
Well, no, I mean, it. It's mostly. I mean, so. So Many things, but it's really, you know, one of the things when I was reading the Pursuit of God book that, you know, just reminds you of, this is where you put. Your awareness is actually what you worship, right? No matter what, no matter what you say, it's like, okay, this thing is number one in my life, but if you spend all your time thinking about and doing other things, that's not actually what you worship. You know what I mean? For sure. Like, and so, and not to say that you, like, I'm not even specifically talking about God. I'm mostly when I think about it, I think about like family in the, in the sense of like, oh, I, and I always, this is always introspective for me in the sense of like, oh, I spent so much time thinking and doing wrestling, right? And if you ask me what do I love more wrestling in my family, it's clear cut choice, my family. But then for years, if you look, if you actually looked at my life and if you, if you, if you were able to ask Bertie honestly, what do you think Daddy likes? What do you think Daddy thinks about more, you or wrestling? I'd be interested to know what her honest answer would be. But then the idea is that like, if you realize that, okay, well, then I have to change that. I, I have to make it very clear within my own mind what I'm thinking about, what I'm, anything that I'm doing, okay? It needs to be very clear in my own mind what I'm putting my awareness on and essentially what I'm, what I'm worshiping. And I'm okay using the word worship to say, like, I worship my family because I don't think there's anything wrong with that to say, like, okay, this is where my attention lies. This is what, this is the most important thing in my life. And I think now it was very, you know, as I was, as I was reading that and just thinking about it and meditating on it a little bit, I, I was thinking like, oh, I think since I've stopped wrestling, it would be, be very clear that if you look at what, where my time is spent, where my thoughts happen, that this is the most, our family is the most important thing in my life. And then, but then looking back, there's a little bit of shame as far as like, oh, that might not have always felt like the case, especially to the kids, you know.
Cathy Kelley
Well, and the kids are so needy for me and like, how they can get. And I'm always like, I wonder if it's Because Brian traveled so much when they were so young. I mean, they're still young, but so much traveling. That and especially, like, during the pandemic was so hard because you'd be gone at like. Like, for like a month. Well, at the time, because you had to do the quarantine and the whole process, it was wild and you were.
Nicole Garcia
Pregnant, so that it was. That was especially important.
Cathy Kelley
But I was like, but I think it will be so interesting to start to see the shift because you are home more and how those start to be. But it's interesting you say that because, you know, after watching, you know, the past weekend of all the great wrestling from wwe. Aw. All of it. You know, there's a part of you as a wrestler who's like, oh, I wish I was there or something and see Nicole, like, right now do it all. I think to myself, like, oh, how fun. Right? But then I have had the most incredible time the last three weeks with family. Like, we've had so much fun with, like, my immediate family, our family, my cousins, their kids. Like, the list goes on.
Nicole Garcia
And you haven't had to worry about going out there and putting on spandex. Battle Jam used to do.
Cathy Kelley
No, not at all. On national tv instead, I'm wearing a swimsuit every day, though. Like, but, you know, like, I would. Wouldn't give that up for the world. I mean, it's. It's like almost one of those things where you might desire something, but you realize what the path that you're on and what, like, right now, my present time, I'm so blessed. Like, I'm so busy. Could be in the mountains with my family, go swim, like, hike, the whole thing. Like, how great.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah. And I guess at the. At the end of that, what I. What the conclusion that I kind of came to is the idea of what you think about most is in turn, no matter what anybody else thinks, you know, your kids, your family, whatever, whatever you think about most is actually the thing that you worship the most. And it's like, okay, internally, what is it that you want to focus most on? And what. What is. What do you. If you were to set down what. And this is not. What do you want other people to think you're focused most on? What do you act? What do I actually think that I want to focus, you know, and then. And then directing your thoughts towards that. So.
Cathy Kelley
And family for both of us. Yeah, that's that.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah. Yeah.
Cathy Kelley
See, that was great. We didn't need a quote.
Nicole Garcia
Yeah. I don't. I'm not good at remembering quotes.
