Hey everyone, welcome back to another episode of the Nikki and Bri Show. And can we just say I'm back in a solo episode. Have you all missed me being solo? No, probably not. But that's okay. It has been so nice being with Nikki and having so many incredible guests on the show. I mean we've just. Wow. We have been blessed already here in 2025 with just incredible guests. So yes, it's been quite the 2025 for the Nikki and Bri Show. But now I'm going to bless you with my first solo episode of 2025. You know, I just. Nikki and I are doing a lot of traveling as you could see on our social medias. We are all over the place, especially Nikki. I was like, you know Nikki, you do you girl get a little rest. You're all over the country. So I thought it would be really fun to connect with you all, you know, towards the end of 2024 and when I say the end, really that last quarter, so kind of starting that holiday season and going into 2025, you didn't get a lot of me, right? And the one thing I felt like that we all had this consistency of was not only opening up our hearts and and you all allowing me to just tell you what I was feeling at the time because a lot was going on, but was journaling. I think so many of you know who listen and have been, you know, just loyal listeners here to the Nikki and Bri Show. You know, Nikki and I love journaling. And for a lot of you who are new to the Nikki and Bri show, we have a lot of fun on here. We were like your happy hour queen. So we talk about anything and everything. We're open books, and Nikki and I enjoy life to the absolute fullest. So we might be, you know, chit chatting about motherhood or relationships or anything you can imagine we do talk about. But then there's times where we do like to get deep and we do like to kind of always, from time to time, check in with all of you and just, you know, kind of remind ourselves, like, you know, we do in this. Like, there we have purpose. Each and every one of us has a purpose for living. You might ask yourself and be like, well, what's my purpose? I feel like I do, like, Groundhog's Day every day. There's purpose. There's purpose in everything you do. The barista you go to once a week has purpose. They are actually in more contact with strangers and giving their energy to way more people than what you might think a CEO is doing. You have a purpose and you. You mean something, and you could actually make huge ripple effects in this world if you choose to. So I thought it would be really fun in this episode to go back and kind of pull out those journals and just. I have a fun thing for us to do. You know, January's over, and a lot of times we feel like after January, we kind of fulfilled that, you know, yay. I was dry for a month, or I worked out every single day, or I started running. And we feel like almost like when January's done, we've accomplished something so big by starting all the resolutions that we told ourselves on New Year's Eve, that we wanted to do that sometimes, and there's been facts and great statistics to back this, that we kind of fall off the wagon. Let's just say now I will say this. This morning I drove to the hair salon, and I still saw a lot of people out. And I. I always know when, like, early morning when I'm driving and when I see people out running or biking or I'm seeing people walk to their cars and their workout clothes, I'm like, oh, they're. They're in their mission. They're in that commitment that they told themselves in 2025 is that health kickoff. And I always love when I see people's dedication and commitments. It's. It motivates me. It gets me, like, worked up. Like, I literally was driving to the salon, and I'm like, all right, Bri. Like, look at them. They're up early. It's. I'm not even kidding. The sun was not even out. And here's, like, the one time I wake up early to go get my hair done, but they're all out doing it. And that motivates me. But I was like, I don't want that to end in January to keep it going. So today I thought something I've done is like, okay, we've all hit that refresh button, which is such a beauty of a new year, right? It's a new canvas, a new painting. You get a paint. You. Honestly, it's a. It's a new slate. And for so many of us, it feels good to kind of just wash off the last year and hit that refresh button. So with all of you, if you don't have your journals now, when you get home, I really urge you to pull them out. And one thing I really want you to write down. I don't want you to write down goals today. I don't want you to write down resolutions would I love for you to write. And I. And I. I've done this many times for many, many years. And I'm going to read you what I wrote for 2025. But I want you to write your perfect day. What would your perfect day be like in 2025? And I know you're thinking like, well, like, wake up feeling good. Yes. From the moment you wake up in the morning to the time you go to bed at night, what is your perfect day? What's your perfect meals? What's the perfect way you want to feel? What's the perfect phone call you get? The perfect thing you accomplished, the whatever you. If you're not in love, you fell in love. You bumped into the love of your life at the grocery store, or, you know, maybe you and your child connected in a different way that you've always wanted to but never did. Like, literally, your perfect day. And I am a hopeless, romantic, sappy, sensitive, hippie girl. I, like, will write five pages of my perfect day. Now I'm going to read all five. I definitely have. Over the years, I've learned how to condense it, but I don't hold back. I'm like, I want. I want my perfect day to be my perfect day. And I'm going to tell you what I wrote in my journal. So I love being open with you. So then when you go home or if you're at home now, then you can be really open because it's hard to do this, it's hard to open up. And not that you have to read anyone. Your perfect day journals are meant to be private and but if you want to, you could always call our hotline. Read it to me, read it to your spouse, your friend, your cousin, whoever. But also it can be just for you. But this is what I wrote in my journal. My perfect day is waking up full of energy and happiness. Snuggling my kids, kissing my husband and making my family breakfast. Everyone heading to school with excitement and happy attitudes. Then coming home and going on a walk with Brian to our favorite coffee shop. And then taking a long walk by the vineyards with the breeze through my hair, the sunshine lightly touching my skin. Going out and gardening with Brian and planting everything that I know that will be thriving, fruitful, playing with my chickens and then heading into a full of life busy tasting room. Every seat is taken, every customer is laughing, loving the wine, so happy. And our customers are in there with these big hearts and so much love that when you walk in, you can't help but giggle and feel full of love in this beautiful, loving tasting room. As I'm sitting with all these strangers, I get a call from Walmart and Walmart wants to put in this huge order, a nationwide order. I can't even believe it. I start to high five everyone in the tasting realm and then I say, let's do it. Let's pop the champagne. So we pop the Bonita Bonita bubbles and celebrate. And with all the strangers in my tasting room, we celebrate this amazing call I got today. Something that's going to just send Bonita Bonita worldwide. Then I come home and I make a yummy homemade dinner for my family and we end our night in laughter, love and prayers. And obviously a happy ending for me. But I won't get too detailed with that. But yes, my mind's in the gutter, so yes. But that is my perfect day. So I literally write this in my journal and I've actually, because I'm someone who loves to visually see the writing in my journal and kind of look at the words I write and know like what I want. I used to be one of those who would cut out a tons of magazines, write a bunch of vision boards, but I really have felt like I actually really love writing things out. It makes Me see things clearer and also kind of know, like, okay, there's sometimes I put a lot of energy to things that might not fit in my perfect day. So I don't need to. And I will read that a lot. I will. Sometimes, you know, if I'm doing my makeup or if I'm, you know, just in my bedroom, I get like 10 minutes to myself, and it's a quiet house. I'll read it out loud and sometimes I'll add things and. And. But that's my perfect day.
A
You know what season's coming up is that festival season? Brie?
B
Yes, it is. And Nikki and I, every year during festival season, always plan a girls trip.
A
That is right. And so how I feel we plan the most perf festival trip is to get on Airbnb and first find the perfect house. Then we could decide which festival to go to.
B
I mean, honestly. And I think the cool thing is, is that if we find some incredible house where all of us girls can stay, do a little cooking, a little swimming, then maybe I could put up my house and make a little money while I'm spending some money at these festivals.
A
You know what that. See, now think about it. If you host while you're traveling, it's a great way to offset some of the cost of your own trip.
B
Ding, ding, ding. And if you've got a big year of travel ahead of you, hosting is a pretty cool and unique way to make some money back, which I love.
A
Because 2025 is the year to be financially savvy. So don't leave money on the table when you travel, your home might be.

Because I don't want to ever put expectations on myself. I don't want these days I live in now not to feel perfect. Because honestly, let's be honest, any day we wake up breathing. I mean, it already starts off perfect because so many people don't get to wake up to see another day, so that's already starting the day off perfect. And sometimes there's things that will shock me in a day that make me so happy or one of the best surprises, and I never want to take that away because I do love being present, living in a moment. But I do think. And sometimes instead of writing down my goals and having resolutions and feeling like I got to stick to such a hard plan, I just kind of like. Like a daydreamer, like a hopeless romantic. Just think of my perfect day. And I do let myself know that sometimes perfect days will feel very far away, that they will still feel so far away and so out of reach. It's almost sad. But I remind myself that there has been other days that feel like I'm so close to that perfect day, and that there's times where I'm like, whoa, I'm. I'm living my perfect day. Maybe I didn't get the Walmart call, but everything else felt so perfect. And I rejoice those days. But I. You know, I. I think that sometimes I need the days that feel so out of reach because it helps me kind of understand what I was lacking. Like when there's days when I'm like, I'll be honest. When there's times we are tasting room. It's been. We've had a couple days where it's been, like, empty. No one's come in, and I'm like, okay, what am I not doing? And I'll be like, well, I haven't promoted it for a couple weeks. Okay. Start to promote it. Next thing you know, we're full of reservations. So it's actually nice to sometimes have those days where your perfect day feels so far away because, you know, it helps you kind of regroup. And we always need moments to regroup. And redirect. At least I do. It helps me to be. I feel like a better owner, but also, at times, be a better mother and wife. I mean, how many days have we had where it feels like nothing? Everyone woke up on, like, the wrong side of the bed, and nothing's going right. Right. Like, the hardest days ever. Like, you know, where Buddy, you know, I. I might say one thing wrong or I actually, I'll use this example. The other day, I only have one electric toothbrush because I won't get one that I can't reuse the top or because I told kids it's just wasteful. Like, I like wooden toothbrushes, but they really want an electric one. But I said I had to get the brand that makes the most sense for a sustainable lifestyle. And we. That's, you know, one thing I teach my children. Well, there was only one electric toothbrush left in this. And granted, there was a lot of electric toothbrushes in the aisle, but they just did not serve what I like for our planet. So the other day, something I tell Buddy is, ladies always first. I feel like, start him young to be a gentleman. He lost it that I let Birdie use the electric toothbrush before him, and I could not kick him out of it. And then Birdie started to get emotional. And I'm, like, already looking at the time like, we're already going to be running late for school. And then here it's freezing cold outside, but I'm breaking a sweat because all I'm trying to do is just, like, have everyone leave the house happy. And then I realized I forgot to make Birdie's lunch. So then within, like, we're already running late and I have to make a lunch, and she didn't know what she wanted to eat, and I'm just like, oh, my gosh. And then when she was seeing what I was putting in her lunchbox, she was like, I don't want that. And then everyone gets, like, emotional and hard. But it's funny because when I have days like, that, I'm like, what went wrong? I'm. And. And I will say this. I'm not going to be the type of mom to be like, well, then maybe I should just let Buddy brush his teeth first. No, what I need to do is maybe, like, have them go at different times where bed. Maybe Buddy doesn't realize it. So when Birdie's brushing her teeth, I'll have Buddy be taking his vitamins or, you know, it made me, like, realize, like, okay, like, I guess I just can't. I'm standing next to each other and having them wait. I don't know. Like, there was so much as a mom, like, I was thinking when I dropped him off at school, I literally had to go get a coffee and just go on the longest walk of my life to say, like, why did this morning feel so hard? And why Am I not recovering as quick as I usually do? And those moments which feel so far from a perfect day, especially like if you start your day off like that, you really feel like you're in doomsday. Like there's no way this day will turn around or be perfect. But it helped me just realize, like, okay, like, my kids and their personalities and how they are, like, you know, they're sensitive to different things. So how do I work with that? Because I don't need my kids to change. I don't need them to have different attitudes, and I never want them to feel like they have to. So it's. How do I adapt to them? And. But also with them understanding the rules in the house. But, you know, I. I just. I feel like the redirect part and sometimes getting thrown off and feeling really far from a perfect day helps us all grow and grow for me, a lot of times as a mom. But I will say this. I started to write down in my journal, and I. I feel like this is really helpful for all of you, especially after that really hard day I had with kids, because it got harder when they came home. It was just an emotional day for everyone. But I started to write down the things that I feel like, trigger me to kind of feel like a perfect day just feels too far away. So I started to write things, like things that get triggered on social media or things that make me feel like, for example, social media. When I go on, sometimes all of a sudden when I think I know what I want in life, I'll go to social media and I'll start to make me think, well, I don't know. Is it what I want in life? Because other people want me to be this, and I kind of, like, see this and I feel something and I kind of get thrown. And I'll be honest, I get a little overwhelmed. And I also am like, wait, maybe I'm concentrating on the wrong things and I should be concentrating on something else because maybe my talents are more over here. I don't know. I can. Honestly, you guys, my brain can explode. Like that emoji where the brain is exploding. I feel like I've sent that to Brian a lot because sometimes there's things I do in my life that I'll admit. I'm like, am I. Am I doing the right thing? Like, yeah, this brings me happiness, but am I. Am I meant to do it? Like, you know, and there's times, even with our wine brand, I definitely. We've been in the wine business almost nine years. I have made some big mistakes that I've learned from, but there's times when I don't see things working. I am like, is this not working for a reason? But then I'll get these, like, what we call in wrestling as hope spots, and I'll use that in my, like, business and even personal life, But I'll get these hope spots. And I'm like, no, no, no. This is what I'm supposed to be doing. And, like, this makes me feel happy. Even though it's not exactly where I want it to be yet, it does show me signs that we're slowly getting there. But I have to write this all in my journal because if I don't know the things that can throw me from perfect day, and then the things that give me those hope spots towards my perfect day, then I feel like I actually have no sense of direction. So I have my perfect day written, then I have the things that trigger me, and then I have the things that give me my hope spots. So obviously, the things that trigger me can be social media, which I feel like that's for a lot of us, right? And you know what I wrote in my journal after I wrote things that can trigger me to make me feel off or confused, I wrote this. And I feel like this could help a lot of you. I, in five seconds, can delete all the apps off my phone, and those worlds don't exist anymore. I could delete my Bri account on Instagram, and that just doesn't exist anymore. I don't have, well, I, I, I don't run TikTok and I don't have the Twitter app, so I don't have those worlds on my phone. But even, like, Pinterest, Pinterest can throw me too. Cause I, I can go in a deep dive in Pinterest and feel like I should look this way or be this house should look this way or I should be living this style life or I should be homemaking. All of this, like, you know, like, Pinterest makes me feel like I should be Betty Crocker on steroids. But I was like, if I got rid of all those apps, those worlds disappear. But guess what? I'm still living in this one world that truly exists. This world that every morning I wake up and it will never leave, like, where I truly am present and truly am living. And I literally wrote that. And this is, I mean, I kind of told you I wrote, but this is exactly what I wrote in my journal. You can delete apps on your phone and those worlds End. But the one we live in, truly live in, still exist. Take it all away. And here I am with my family, my gardens, my chickens, my tasting room, and with my dreams and hopes. And so I wrote that in my journal. You know, after my perfect day, things that trigger me is on another page. And then I wrote that to remind myself that the moments breathe. Because I'm on Instagram a lot. I mean, there's. I all met, like, I definitely, like, three times a day scroll, which I'm trying to be better. Like, and even if I scroll for two minutes or 20 minutes, I'm. I'm getting lost in this. This place, right? So I have to go back to my journal a lot and remind myself those things. And I feel like then when you. After that, when you write your hope spots, that's what I call it. The things that have made me feel that I'm on the right path. The things like what my children say to me, how my husband treats me, the happiness in my marriage, the stability I have, you know, just in motherhood, and the confidence and the parts, you know, of even my taste genome, they. They all give me these hope spots that I'm. I'm in the right path. I'm going the right direction. And even though there's days where I feel like I have to redirect, I feel like it's not like, oh, my gosh, rock bottom redirect. I feel like, step. It's normal, right? I might have made a bad left turn when I should have went great, you know, so no big deal. We'll just make that U turn and get right back on the back. And I just want that for all of you because, you know, January brings that type of energy of just, let's go energy, right? And we feel it, but I want you to keep feeling it in the next 11 months. And sometimes, you know, we are easy to just get off course. And not that we need to be hard on ourselves. It's okay to go off course, but just to redirect yourselves. And that's why journaling is so great and to really write down your perfect day and write down all the other things we talked about. And I honestly feel that you will really have clarity in what you feel like your purpose is, or at least just clarity of what you want out of life, which is such a beautiful thing. You know, Nikki and I, we always love for you to use the hotline. We're always listening. And I would love it if you called our hotline and just even said, like, bri, I had my perfect day. Or even like Bri, I felt like it was almost my perfect day. Whatever. I would love to know. And even if you want to tell me what your perfect day is, I would love to hear it. Because sometimes it feels good to just say it out loud. And if you have no one to say it out loud to say to someone like me who loves this kind of stuff, because not everyone does, I get it. You can go to some of your family members and say exactly what I said on this episode and they will look at you like you are batshit crazy. That's okay, you know. So you have me to not think you're bat shit crazy. Maybe it's that one corner of the living room or the entire basement, but whatever it is, we all know that one spot in the house where WI FI coverage gets a bit spotty.

Podcast Summary: The Nikki & Brie Show – "Hit the Refresh Button"
Release Date: February 3, 2025
In the "Hit the Refresh Button" episode of The Nikki & Brie Show, hosted by SiriusXM, Bri Garcia takes center stage in her first solo episode of 2025. Breaking away from the dynamic duo format, Bri delves deep into personal growth, the importance of journaling, and maintaining a sense of purpose amidst the chaos of daily life. This episode serves as an intimate exploration of self-reflection and the strategies Bri employs to stay motivated and centered.
Bri opens the episode by addressing her solo status, reflecting on her experiences traveling extensively with Nikki and hosting various guests. She expresses gratitude for the blessings the year 2025 has brought and sets the tone for a more personal and introspective session.
"I just thought it would be really fun to connect with you all," [00:38]
Central to the episode is Bri's emphasis on journaling as a tool for self-discovery and maintaining consistency in personal growth. She encourages listeners to use their journals not just for setting goals but for envisioning their perfect day.
"I think so many of you know who listen and have been, you know, just loyal listeners here to the Nikki and Brie Show. You know, Nikki and I love journaling." [02:15]
Bri guides listeners through an exercise to write down their "perfect day" rather than traditional resolutions. She shares her own detailed depiction of an ideal day, highlighting elements of family, personal achievements, and professional success.
"What's your perfect day? What's your perfect meals? What's the perfect way you want to feel?" [04:50] "My perfect day is waking up full of energy and happiness. Snuggling my kids, kissing my husband and making my family breakfast..." [07:30]
Discussing the common phenomenon of falling off the resolution wagon post-January, Bri reflects on maintaining motivation beyond New Year's. She observes the dedication of others as a source of inspiration for her own commitment to personal goals.
"I always know when, like, early morning when I'm driving and when I see people out running or biking or I'm seeing people walk to their cars... it motivates me." [09:45]
Bri candidly shares her struggles with maintaining her perfect day amidst unexpected challenges, particularly in her roles as a mother and business owner. She recounts a particularly stressful morning, highlighting the importance of adaptability and self-compassion.
"There are days where my perfect day feels so far away because I have to redirect, but it's part of growth." [10:50]
Addressing the impact of social media on mental well-being, Bri discusses how platforms like Instagram and Pinterest can derail one's sense of purpose. She emphasizes the importance of disconnecting from these triggers to focus on the present reality.
"I wrote this in my journal: You can delete apps on your phone and those worlds end. But the one we live in, truly live in, still exist." [14:20]
Bri introduces the concept of "hope spots"—moments or elements that reaffirm one's path towards their perfect day. She explains how recognizing these can help in redirecting efforts during challenging times.
"The things like what my children say to me, how my husband treats me, the happiness in my marriage... they all give me these hope spots." [16:40]
Towards the end of the episode, Bri invites listeners to share their perfect days through the show's hotline, fostering a sense of community and mutual support among the audience.
"We always love for you to use the hotline. We're always listening. I would love it if you called our hotline and just even said, like, bri, I had my perfect day." [20:55]
Journaling as a Reflection Tool: Bri underscores the significance of journaling not just for goal-setting but for envisioning and understanding one's ideal life scenario.
Flexibility in Pursuit of Goals: Recognizing that perfection is unattainable every day, Bri highlights the importance of adaptability and not being overly self-critical during setbacks.
Digital Detox for Mental Clarity: By advocating for the removal of certain social media apps, Bri emphasizes the need to minimize external pressures that detract from personal happiness and purpose.
