What up everyone? Welcome back to the Nikki and Bri show. And yes, as you can see, I am solo today. No Bri. But you know what? We don't have Bri today for a very good reason. Bri is going to be fighting for those tag Team Champions championships Saturday night on ESPN for Saturday night main event. Yes, Saturday night main event is back. Super excited and her and Paige better be walking out as tech champions and not let me down. But I'm excited today because I have a very special guest. So I lost one champ for another champ. So in a way I actually totally won. Here in Vegas we are joined by a Zufa boxy middleweight boxer, Shane Mosley Jr. Which I know you all know that name and he is fresh off a huge technical knockout win in his very first fight with Zufa Boxing right here in Las Vegas. He's a father, a husband and a son of boxing royalty. Shane is proving he's building his own legacy inside and outside the ring. And hey, fun fact, through his entire professional career, he has never been knocked down.
Shane Mosley Jr.
That's right.
Brie Bella
What's up Shane? Welcome to the Nicki and Bri Show.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Thank you for having me. This is incredible. Like, when I got the call that's be here, I was like, yes.
Brie Bella
Oh, my gosh. I love that.
Shane Mosley Jr.
They were like, oh, well, Bri can't be there, but Nikki's there. I'm like, it's fine.
Brie Bella
Hey, Perfect. Like, this was so perfect. We actually been wanting to get you on the show for some time, and Bri and I are always, like, about, like, okay, when is the right time? And we really love, like, when it's really cool people. We're like, we need to be there in person. So it was crazy how this, like, worked out so perfectly. So thank you for being here.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Thanks for having me.
Brie Bella
It's a lot of fun and obviously, like. And we'll get into it in a little bit. I know your dad. My parents were massive boxing fans growing up, so I just remember all the pay per views and singing the Spice Girls, that is. We'd be watching, like, boxing matches. Bri and I were always the intermission. But obviously dad's iconic.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Thank you.
Brie Bella
So you know you grew up around boxing royalty.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yes.
Brie Bella
Was boxing always the dream or did you envision a different path for yourself?
Shane Mosley Jr.
I think early on, like, like my young life, like, before 15, I just thought it was my dad's thing, you know, and I was just support. I would love to go fights. I would, you know, love all the events and just be there for my dad because that was his thing.
Brie Bella
And.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And everything that I had had in my life was because of that. So it was like, I loved it. And I love going to the gym and just watching him train and stuff like that. And it wasn't until, like, you know, 15 years old where I saw it as my own thing.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And then once you get your own bumps and bruises and you get to feel that, you see who you really are.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And when I. When I did that, I saw that. I love this, you know, and I want to fight. Right? Like, you know, you don't know if you're a fighter until you get hit.
Brie Bella
I mean, I can only imagine. And so crazy. And so. And so. And even, like. So that's probably your earliest memory of, like, okay, 15. You go into this, like, boxing practice, and then you just knew, like, you, like, even in practice, you just get hit and you're like, I could. I mean, I kind of. And I kind of relate to that in wrestling. But, yeah, you just get hit in the face. You're like, this. Is it made for this?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Because some people cower and some people go, you know, What? I don't like. I don't like this. And then some people go, I'm gonna hit you back. Watch.
Brie Bella
It's so true. I mean, you do have to have a certain mindset for that. Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And then also, like, just, you know, not realizing it, but just being around my father, championship level, also other people that he was around and just seeing that they're not regular people, like, from the standpoint of mindset and how they look at the world and look at themselves, they're not regular.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And so I was around all of that and not knowing.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Really. That. Until getting punched in the face and go, you know what? I'm not regular either. I want that back.
Brie Bella
Oh, my God, I love that. Was it crazy growing up in that environment? Like, just because, you know, I even think of my son. But it's your dad's different level, obviously,
Shane Mosley Jr.
and, like, you're a champion, too, and your son is growing up with a champion.
Brie Bella
He did ask me. It's. We've talked about it on the show. It was like, maybe it might have been like six months now, but he got into the car from school, he's 5, and he's like, are you Nikki Bella? And I'm like, yeah, who told you? Because I, like, never said anything and never. I. He hadn't watched at that point either. And so he's like, you wrestle? And I'm like, yeah, that's why mommy leaves every week. I go wrestle. And so we got in this big conversation. Well, then I brought him to a show and he hated it. He hated seeing me get hit.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Okay.
Brie Bella
He didn't care if I was doing the hitting and he loved watching everyone else. But when I got hit and he was ringside the first time, and I could feel his eyes from like a mile away. And I, like, look over and he's just like, yeah. And, you know. And that's boys with their moms.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Right.
Brie Bella
And so when he came back, he was just like, I hate wrestling. And. And then he's telling me everything he hates, and I'm like, oh, great. But. And now I won't watch.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah.
Brie Bella
So I don't know how you were growing up with your dad, so.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Growing up with my dad, it was. It was very difficult because you can't control it.
Brie Bella
Yeah, right.
Shane Mosley Jr.
You. I can't control the outcome. If you get hurt, there's nothing I can do about it. But when my dad fought, when my. I have friends that fight. My son fights. Cuz he's also a fighter as well.
Brie Bella
Oh, my.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Gosh how cute. It's the hardest thing because I can't control it.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
I have to. If something happens, I have to let it happen and I have to just take it. And that's hard.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And so that's what your son is feeling. He probably doesn't understand, like, you know, the. The dynamic of it. And so he's looking at, like, my mom is getting hurt.
Brie Bella
Right. Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
I don't like that.
Brie Bella
Totally.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah. I don't want to be here.
Brie Bella
Yeah. Unconditional love. Right. You know, the protector side. So at what point did you stop feeling like, okay, I'm Shane Mosley's son, and start feeling like you're your own fighter?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah, I had really good, you know, direction and leadership from my parents. I feel like they told me, hey, if you're going to, like, do this, you're gonna make it your own. My dad was very big on telling me if I was going to fight that you're not average. You're gonna be a world champion. And that's it. That's it.
Brie Bella
A lot of pressure on you.
Shane Mosley Jr.
No, it's very matter of fact. It's like. Because you look at things if, like, there is no failing. Right. And I think that that's an important thing to see and have in there. Of course, like, people fail and stuff like that. But, like, if you have that set in your mind that I'm going to do this and I'm going to do this to the best of my ability and get as far as I possibly can, and I deal with the ups and downs as they come, but I still have that mindset. That's. That's the. You're setting your. Yourself up for. For success.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Otherwise, you're setting yourself up for failure. If you believe that there's an out or. Okay, well, maybe I'm. It's very weak. And I was very happy that my father gave that knowledge to me. And then my mother also gave me the knowledge of, your dad's success is not yours, so don't ever try to claim that. And when I was young, I. I thought she was being mean. I'm like, oh, why would you tell me that? Like, are you kidding? Like, I am Shay Mosley Jr. Come on. And she used to tell me, like, no, that's not you. All of this success is not yours.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
I'm not saying you can't get that. But what is his is his, and you gotta get your own. So go get it. If you wanna be champion, go get it.
Brie Bella
Always leave it to the moms. You know what I mean?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Mom was a gangster. I love that.
Brie Bella
Now, have you ever failed?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Of course.
Brie Bella
Okay, so what do you do with failure?
Shane Mosley Jr.
I cry a little bit.
Brie Bella
You know, hey, can we all. We have to release some way. Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Cry a little bit and then pick myself back up. Just like when. When I first fought for the first time and got punched in the face. I got a bloody nose and go, you know what? I don't like this. I'm gonna get it back.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Get you back.
Brie Bella
It's. You know what? But I love that you can, like, admit to that because you need to have that release. And then that is what puts people in a different place for success. Right. Is what we take with that failure.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And you're like, I don't want to feel this anymore.
Nikki Bella
No, Right.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Like. Like when I feel bad where I'm like, so much so, I'm going to cry, I'm going to like, I'm never going to feel this way. And I tell myself I'm never going
Brie Bella
to feel this way.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Right. So I fought for the world title, the WBC world title in my fight before this one, the past, when I fought in May 10. So I fought in December 6 and I lost a unanimous decision. And I was so.
Brie Bella
Oh, that's even harder. Right. Of course.
Shane Mosley Jr.
I was so convinced that I was going to win and I told myself that I was going to win. And obviously I came up short. And as they announced him, I'm like, just breaking down and, like, I can't even control that. I just. A ball of tears.
Brie Bella
Oh, my gosh.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And so I go to shake his hand in his dad's hand, and they're all cheering for him. Literally in the middle of the ring, I go, like. And I felt so bad because I
Brie Bella
was just so upset right.
Shane Mosley Jr.
About this, and I couldn't hold it back. And I had to go back afterwards and tell his dad, like, hey. Because his dad is his coach.
Brie Bella
Okay.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Like, hey, I'm so sorry for my emotions. I was just going through it and I'm feeling it, but, you know, and then, so I come back after. After that loss for the world title, and I have the best performance of my career.
Brie Bella
Wow.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And so I say that to say that if you don't. If you don't let it kill you, if you don't let it destroy you, it's going to make you better.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And you're going to have the best performance. Performances of your life if you don't let those defeats.
Brie Bella
Yep.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Destroy you.
Brie Bella
It's so true. You know, I say that to people all the time. Like you have to what you feel through failure, you need to transition that into something. And I make that. Like for me, I always think of like the phoenix rising up from the ashes. I always put it into fire. So if I fail in something, I, if it's a company or being an entrepreneur, I try to make it a learning, like somehow grow from it and learn from it. But when it comes into what I do, similar to you, I'm like, no, now I'm going to turn this into fire. And all of you who think I can, I'm going to show you how I can. I'm going to make it even bigger and better than you can ever imagine it. And so I'm, I love that. And it's so important to do that, to not give up. I teach when I have the younger generation come to me and how did you do this? You know, and what you've done the past two decades. And I tell them that because see, a lot of people will look at your success and think it's overnight. And I'm like, I started in 2007.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah.
Brie Bella
And I'm still building and it's been almost 20 years. Yes, exactly. And so I'm like, but you just can't stop. And it's what you do when you hear the nose or when there's negativity or the failures or especially, you know, we all do things live and you're a lot different. But we're going to fail. We're going to mess up. I mean, especially in sports, we're not always going to be perfect. We always don't get to have a perfect game. So it's what you do with that. But I try to tell people that even beyond in your own life. Yeah, guys, transition this. Have you guys ever had those nights
Nikki Bella

Shane Mosley Jr.
Yes.
Brie Bella
Have you met Nick Khan?
Shane Mosley Jr.
I have.
Brie Bella
Isn't he amazing? Yes, I love him. So for our listeners, Zufa boxing, it's under the TKO umbrella. So ufc, wwe, operated by WWE president and TKO board member Nick kh, who we love, and UFC CEO Dana White. Love Dana White. Yeah, I love Nick. Was. Has Sunny come around, son?
Shane Mosley Jr.
No, not yet.
Brie Bella
Oh, he hasn't.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Oh.
Brie Bella
His son is always with us over at wwe. And just the cutest thing. Wow. So we're going to talk a little bit about this. So for those who may not know, what's the difference between zufa boxing and the boxing we're used to? Can you tell us that?
Shane Mosley Jr.
So the difference is, is Zufa boxing, to my knowledge, is like a league. Right?
Brie Bella
Okay.
Shane Mosley Jr.
So it's going to be like the wwe, something like that. Boxing doesn't have that yet. It's different entities that are a part of it. So you have like the wbc, the wba, all this other stuff, and they come together collectively.
Brie Bella
Okay.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And so with Zufa, it's trying to be like. It's only kind of like how the UFC has.
Brie Bella
Okay, that's cool. And would you get. Do you guys get boxers that come in, like, from all over the world, or is everyone. You have to come and be here in Las Vegas?
Nikki Bella
Well, you.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yes, you can be all across the world, but, you know, other fighters from outside of Zufa are not going to fight in Zufa. The fighters that are in Zufo that
Brie Bella
are going to fight.
Shane Mosley Jr.
So like in regular boxing, it's like whoever, like, you know, essentially can fight and it's just collective.
Brie Bella
Okay.
Shane Mosley Jr.
But Zufa is trying to be its own league.
Brie Bella
I love that. And so would you say that excites you most about this, like. Or what's like the most exciting thing?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Well, the most exciting thing for me is that I could be the start of like, something incredible. Right?
Brie Bella
Totally.
Shane Mosley Jr.
So when. When it comes to like every other sport, there's a ABC that runs it, Right. Like NFL has football, NHL hockey, the list goes on. Yeah, Right. In boxing, we don't have that.
Brie Bella
Okay.
Shane Mosley Jr.
There's nothing that. That is that. In mma, it's the ufc.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
In wrestling, as wwe, people think of these sports, they. They think of this entity.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And I could be a part of the that and I could be one of the first to ever become champion in this. Leaving my mark. Leaving my mark. Like how my dad left a legendary mark in his sport. I can be a legend in mine and the entity that is boxing. Wow.
Brie Bella
I mean, that's incredible. That's so cool. So I feel like, because you guys have this league and I know we were talking about a little before, and I want bring it back up, I feel like you guys can kind of create characters like WWE has and ufc, because they started to become that. Of course you get an entrance music, so I'm assuming you have an entrance.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yes, I do.
Brie Bella
And you did you get to pick your song?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yes, I did.
Brie Bella
Okay, so what's your song? And what, what is that like, what's the vibe? What does it mean to you? Because I know people's songs mean something, you know, and you're telling the world who you are. Right. When you come out to that.
Shane Mosley Jr.
So I'm always a man of God and. And I like to let people let people know that. So when I come out, I come out to Christian rap.
Brie Bella
Oh, my.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And so I keep getting chilled.
Brie Bella
It's so cute.
Shane Mosley Jr.
So I come out to this last fight, I came up to a song called Yeshua and it's a Christian rap. And it's just. It starts out really, really nice, nice build up and just drops it on the head, you know what I mean? And so I like to let them know that, you know, I'm. I'm a son of. Son of God.
Brie Bella
Oh, my. That's so awesome.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah.
Brie Bella
And do you have any nicknames or
Shane Mosley Jr.
any like, you know, so I'm breaking to this to you first is because I don't I don't actually have a nickname, but I was thinking of one that was important to me. And like, I said, I'm a son of God. And when Moses asked God, like, who do I tell him that I. That that sent me? And he says, I am. And so imagine if my name was. I am Shane Mosley.
Brie Bella
Oh, my gosh, that's amazing.
Shane Mosley Jr.
That's my ring name because they always used to say to me, like, like, what's your nickname? Are you going to be sugar Shane Mosley Jr. Are you going to be. And I, I just used to be like, I'm. I'm just me. I just. I, I just am. And why not be? I am.
Brie Bella
Yes, I, I, I AM Shane Mosley Jr. Yes, I am.
Shane Mosley Jr.
That's my ring name.
Brie Bella
I feel like I could already see, like, the posters and the signs and the shirts and the merch and all that. I love that because that sounds iconic and legendary.
Shane Mosley Jr.
I'm letting the world know that I am just.
Brie Bella
I am, I am. And I think that's actually a great statement to make in the time we're in now. And I, I'm getting the feeling that you're a lot like this. And, you know, Bri and I were very much the same that we do what we do because we love to have impact as well beyond the ring, and we love to shine our light, and we love to. If, when we leave this world, we hope to leave it in a better place. And anyone that tunes in, if it's just one, ten or thousands or hopefully millions, could have become better because of what we've done. You know, that is our goal. And I feel like you're very much the same. You want to have that impact.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Well, like, my, My, my prayer all the time, every night is, God, shine your light in me and through me.
Brie Bella
Oh, right.
Shane Mosley Jr.
So I want, when, when people see me, they see God. Right?
Brie Bella
I love that.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And so, like, that is always my prayer. And so, like, the same as you said, right? Shine in me, through me.
Brie Bella
So, you know, that's, like, one of my things before I walk out and I, I want to get into your stuff. I always have to say I have a certain, like, my heavenly homies that I have to pray to you. I have, like, my specific group. I do. And, like, there's a few things that I have to do before I walk out, so I know I'm in the right place. But that's, like, one of my things I say in my prayer to God and spirit is like, I am your portal. Like, Shine in me, shine out. Please let me have impact in the live crowd and through the TV cameras of just shining your light in whatever way I can. So that's funny that you say that. I do the same. So do you have anything that you have to do before you walk out?
Shane Mosley Jr.
So I always sing. I always sing.
Brie Bella
I love that. I wish I could sing.
Shane Mosley Jr.
It just. Well, I mean, it's not that I'm good, because I'm not, but it's more so I feel like it, it calms my, my nerves and it kind of just reminds me who I am because sometimes I forget that, like, I'm just this happy guy, you know, I mean, yes, I fight, but like, I, I love this. And so when you tap into that, that song, you tap into the love, right? And you remember to yourself that I love this. And I'm fighting because I, I fight for love. I fight for my family. I fight for people to see how, how great this sport is. You know, I mean, like those things not because I'm just trying to be mean or I'm just trying to like beat people up. I fight for, you know, to show my passion. Yeah. And so I have to like tap myself back into that. And so that's a, A love frequency. And not totally not a angry frequency, because angry frequency is very low. Yeah, but love is high.
Brie Bella
Oh, my gosh. Yes. You're very in tuned. I can tell. Well, you also have a God given talent. And I. We are. Everyone is born with something because that is our path and we have to find that. And the day you got hit in the face, you knew it. You're like, oh, wait, okay, I like this. And I could do it. Just like the day I took my first bump in a wrestling ring. I was like, I love this. And my family's like, what? And I'm like, it's amazing. And I was a soccer player, but I got drawn to that. And I never would have thought as a little girl or even in high school that I would have been a WWE diva. Now superstar, you just all of a sudden, you're just born with something and it's. We find it on our path. And so I have a question for you. So when you picture the next few years, what's the dream matchup for? I am Shane Mosley Jr
Shane Mosley Jr.
well, as of right now, yeah. You know, there's a guy named Callum Smith. I mean, Callum Walsh.
Brie Bella
Sorry, do we like him? Do we not like him?
Shane Mosley Jr.
I love him. I think he's great. He's obviously he was on the very first main event of Zufa boxing.
Brie Bella
Okay.
Shane Mosley Jr.
He was on the number. The first one.
Brie Bella
Okay.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And he was also on the Netflix card with Canelo and Terence Crawford. He was a co main event. He fought Fernando Vargas Jr. And I find that if you are the king, if you are the guy that they have, they give a favor to. I need that spot. Yeah, that's. That's my spot.
Brie Bella
That's right.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Right. And so let's run it.
Brie Bella
Ooh, let's do it.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah. And for good, bad, or worse, you know, I mean, like, we're. This is why we're here. Yeah. Right. To sell a fight, to get people excited and to put on great fights.
Brie Bella
I agree.
Shane Mosley Jr.
So that's why I'm here. I'm here to be king you.
Brie Bella
So do you guys get a say at all? Like, when you are, like, craving an opponent and now especially because you're in the league, so it's like you have a group of people, like, you know, can you go to. I don't know if it's someone like Nick Khan or who you guys go to or Dana White. And do you say, like, hey, I want to take him on, I want to fight him?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah. I mean, I think I'm going to definitely go to them. You know, they've been super busy with this White House card, so, you know, let them handle that business. Um, but when. When I get a chance to. To sit down with everybody and talk, I'm going to let them know my vision and my goals. And I think that that that's something that is appealing to everybody involved. But until then, I'm just going to speak it out loud. Right. If you just keep on speaking and speaking and speaking, it maybe it'll come totally.
Brie Bella
Okay, well, so you say the vision. What. What is the vision? And what is. What's the legacy that you want to build and leave?
Shane Mosley Jr.
So I want to leave a legacy that shows what resilience does for. For you. And even at 35 years old. Right. Which is very, like. Which is.
Brie Bella
Are you 35?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yes.
Brie Bella
So, I mean, I'm not saying that's older. I'm 42. But you look so young. I like, for sure thought you were 22.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Well, I really appreciate it.
Brie Bella
Yeah. You look like a baby.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Thank you so much.
Nikki Bella
Good for you.
Brie Bella
Good job, parents, Great genes.
Shane Mosley Jr.
So I'm considered old in my Sport. Right.
Brie Bella
So 35. So young.
Shane Mosley Jr.
100. I agree.
Brie Bella
Right.
Shane Mosley Jr.
I feel like I'm just hitting my stride.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Right. But it's considered old, and I want to show that through loss, through adversity, through nobody believing you in you. My last fight, I was plus 800, you know what I mean? Like, and look at me. And I just want to show that through adversity. And everybody tells me, oh, because your dad is a legend, you'll never be good enough. You'll never be as good as him. All of these things. But I'm gonna not just say it, I'm gonna show it.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Watch me, right? And. And I want to show the younger generation, people watching that through belief in yourself, through hard work, you can overcome and be and be the greatest you want to be. And I had to take myself outside of being the son and go, we're just colleagues in this, right? Outside of this, you're my father and I love you, but in this, you're just a colleague. Totally somebody who also did it. And if I look at this mountain and go, wow, that's huge. I don't know if I could do that, then it's going to be hard. But if I just go, you know what? One fight at a time, one step at a time. Watch me. I'm just going to get better every day. I love it every session. And let's see how far we can take this.
Brie Bella
I think one. I think that's a great legacy to leave. And, you know, because we have a lot of generational kids in. And I say kids because their parents were all legends or dads in our industry. And I always felt actually bad for him because people, you have half the people that give them shit like, oh, they're only here because of who their dad is. And then you have the other side of like, well, you're going to be as good as your parent, you know, And I kind of always felt bad for him. I'm like, they just don't get a B. They don't get to just be them and grow. It's like, they have always this thing hanging over them. And I don't think people understand that, that, like, that's. It's tough. And then, you know, when you have the top dads and then that really sucks. You're like, almost wish your dad sucks so you could be like, yeah, I'm gonna do way better for them. You know, when I like, Charlotte Flair's done such a great job with, you know, her dad being Rick. And I think of Natty Neidhart and, you know, her dad, you know, Jim Neidhart, and, you know, Cody Rhodes, who had Dusty Rhodes, like. And like, I would hate to go cut promos knowing Like, Dusty was my dad. Like, dang, I better be able to do what he could do. So, you know, good for you for everything that you're building and building on your own. And I feel like, you know, already you're creating such a great name for yourself. And so.
Nikki Bella
Okay, Nick, you know, summer's coming up, which means a lot of fun things are going on. I feel like from our family reunion to different wine events.
Brie Bella
I mean, there's so many events, and
Nikki Bella

Shane Mosley Jr.
Yes.
Brie Bella
You know what I mean. So, one, you have your beautiful wife in here, which I'm so happy she's here. I stalked both of your Instagrams earlier. Your guys's kids are insane. And just I love all the family stuff, so it's, I think, really Neat that people see this fighter side of you, and then they get to see this really neat, like, family side of you. Now, I read that you met your wife Alyssa when you guys were teenagers.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah.
Brie Bella
How did you guys meet?
Shane Mosley Jr.
We met at a fight, actually. Yeah. My. My dad was fighting, and then one of his good friends, who was a guy by the name of Diego Corrales, his daughter was best friends with my wife at the time.
Brie Bella
Okay.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And so they went to the fights, and then, like, I saw her there, and, yeah, she was cute, all that stuff. And then later on, we had, you know, seeing each other again just through being around everybody.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And I was like, I like you. You know, I want to. I want to be your boyfriend. And, you know.
Brie Bella
Yeah. How old are you guys?
Shane Mosley Jr.
So at the time, she was 14. I was 16.
Brie Bella
Oh, how cute is that? Little high schoolers.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah. And then so we dated for a little bit, but I lived in California. She lived out here in Las Vegas. Okay. So it was, like, kind of difficult to be in a relationship, but we always kept in touch. So, like, we broke up eventually, and then we always kept in touch through the years, and she was just a really, like, good friend. And, well, at the time, like, at 16 years old, I was like, I'm gonna marry you. I'm gonna, like, you know, like, I. I, like. I, like, I. I, like, loved her back then. Right. And I was like, I'm gonna marry you. I'm gonna be world champion, and we're gonna have a daughter and, like, all this stuff. And I thought I was gonna be world champion. I was gonna buy her a house in Summerlin.
Brie Bella
Oh, my gosh.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Anybody who knows? So anybody who knows, like, Summerlin is,
Brie Bella
like, one of the nicest Beverly Hills.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And so I got two of those. Two out of the four. So I got. I gotta be world champion and get her a house in Summerlin. So I'm working on those. But, you know, I married her, moved to Las Vegas, so.
Brie Bella
And how long have you guys been married?
Shane Mosley Jr.
10 years.
Brie Bella
10 years. Okay. So then how did it come back around? So
Shane Mosley Jr.
we just, like, we always kept in touch, and then one day, I just, like, hit her up. I saw that, like, she was, like, on Instagram, she had posted something, and I was just like, hey,
Brie Bella
going in those DMs.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah. Right. And then, like, we just kind of, like, reconnected. And at the time, she had just recently got divorced and had two kids. And so we were talking, and she was just like, she's very affirmed with me. She was like, hey, if, like, you want to be with me, I'm a package deal, you know, like, and you have to take, you know, me on, I mean, my kids on with me.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And so I was like, done, you know, like, I. I love you and I'm gonna love them. I know.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And so I've been in their life since My oldest was four years old, and then my youngest is. Was one and a half.
Brie Bella
Oh my gosh.
Shane Mosley Jr.
So amazing. They're 13 and 10 now.
Brie Bella
Wow.
Shane Mosley Jr.
So. And that's. I'm the dad, you know. I mean.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
I wanted at the time, like, you know, I want to wait, you know, on having more kids.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Because I want to make sure that they know that I'm here for the long haul and that I love them and that we have a really good relationship and stuff like that. And they see that I'm not going anywhere.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And they see that I'm here for them. And then later on, we had my daughter, Jewel, and girl, the baby girl.
Brie Bella
Yeah. It was almost your king manifester. I love it. You know, if, if.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Why not? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Why not? You know, I just, you gotta, you know, go for what you feel. You say these things, why not shoot for them?
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And that's what I did.
Brie Bella
Oh my gosh, I love it. So you go, okay. You give women like me hope. Divorcee, a kid. Won't have any more kids, though. I'm done. Done there. But oh my gosh, I love that now. Have they come to see you fight?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Oh, yeah, they were at my last fight.
Brie Bella
Oh, they were?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah. And that was one of my biggest things. I wanted them to see their dad. Oh. Like just be resilient. Like, they saw me fail. They saw me like fail and becoming a world champion. And I wanted them to also see me succeed and see. See that even though in your last fight you, you lost and didn't came short, you're still going to rise and still be great and you still can be. So just, just showing that resilience. And I want them to see that for themselves. That they have that as well.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
That even if they mess up, even if they come short in things and don't do their best, always, they can come back and be better.
Brie Bella
Yes. Well, do you have to have like, talks with them before and like after to like. Maybe if it was like, even the first fight they had to see, like, okay, I don't know. Or no.
Shane Mosley Jr.
It's like I have had conversations with my older son, my young, younger son or the Audison.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
He's a little bit more sensitive, and so, like, he's gonna be. He's gonna take it hard no matter.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
But my older son, he's also a boxer, so he. He boxes as well. He's with me basically every day at the gym. He comes with me to sparring sessions, trainings, everything. They're. They're all homeschooled, so they. They come with me to basically everything that I do. And that was something that was very important for me because, like, I grew up with my dad going away for training camps and stuff like that and kind of like separating the two.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And. Which I guess works for him.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
But it didn't. I didn't want that for me. And so, like, I wanted my kids to be a part of that and see me. So when they go to these fights, they're not surprised. They. They know exactly what I put in.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And they are comfortable with everything that happens.
Brie Bella
That's really cool. I. I feel so much in that way with my son, and it's like, I bring him to as much as I can, but then I also. I'm a co parent, so where it's worked out is that when he's with his dad, I do a lot of my things. And like tomorrow, right when I land, I pick him up from school and it's my time, but if I have work and it's my time, I bring him along because I feel the exact same way. And it was interesting when I've had talks with people in my industry and how they were at first so bitter towards the industry, but because their dads were always gone and it gave them a bad taste in their mouth, they're like, I didn't get to grow up with my dad because he was always there and. And now they're in the industry, and it's neat because I see how people do it different because of what they went through, which I think it's so great to bring them a part of it. I think actually it makes kids better and stronger to go through the real shit, you know what I mean? And to see, like, the real stuff. So fighting being such an intense sport, physically and mentally. How 1. How do you stay grounded? What do you do for fun? How do you decompress?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Well, I hang out with my kids, like, all the time.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah. Like, any chance.
Brie Bella
It's a great way to decompress. Seriously. I mean, I feel you on that.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Any chance. I get it. I got four kids, so it's busy. Yeah. Oh, yeah. So, like, who went to the red rock pool. Like, right the day after, you know, we go to, like, everywhere. I take them. My boys, to boxing. I take. I take them to, like, they have dance class. So, like, I'm always busy, like, hanging with them, but we play, like, board games and stuff like that. I like to get together with, like, friends and watch fights or stuff like that. But for the most part, I like to be a family man.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yes.
Brie Bella
I mean, what do you think is harder?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Parenting or fighting for my daughter is parenting.
Brie Bella
Oh, yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
My daughter's gonna get harder and harder. My daughter is way worse than all three of my boys combined.
Brie Bella
I bet.
Shane Mosley Jr.
I'm like, geez. Like.
Brie Bella
And how old is she?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Three.
Brie Bella
Yeah. Oh, boy. And it's like my sister's daughter just turned nine, and it's just funny, like, the calls she'll get from her husband, and he's just like. I mean, one. Because little girls own their dad as it is. And then, like, kids at school weren't being nice to her, and so he went to go pick her up, and she's walking in the car, and he's like, oh, she's. It doesn't seem great. In minute. She got in the car, and he was like, oh, my gosh. And, like, heartbroken. But then the outfits she wants to wear now, all the different things, I'm like, oh, he's so gonna get it.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah. My daughter already wears makeup. She gets her hair done, her nails done already. So she wants to be just like her mom. Like, yeah, yeah. She's. She always tells her mom, mom, you're so pretty. You're so. You're so. You're so beautiful. And she wants to be just like her. And I'm like, yes, do it.
Brie Bella
Ye. That is amazing. Oh, my gosh. I always love, like, hearing those stories. Okay, so we are going to play a quick game. If you're good with that.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Let's get it.
Brie Bella
It's called champion mindset Rapid fire. Okay, so it's a rapid fire game where just for. Just something fun for our audience to get to know you better, which, I mean, this interview has been so incredible. I got to know you better. Shane Mosley Jr.

Brie Bella
Okay. Favorite artist, kb.
Shane Mosley Jr.
He's a Christian artist.
Nikki Bella
Okay.
Brie Bella
Oh, nice. Okay. All right. Vegas night out or stay home with the family.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Oh, Stay home with the family.
Brie Bella
Okay, but if you guys were to go on a night out, where would you go?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Oh, well, I heard a lot about
Brie Bella
Delilah, so, yes, you guys can do Delilah's. That would be amazing. Okay. Surprisingly, when I was at Magic Mike last night, I couldn't believe how many couples were in there. Really? And I was like, all right, now, the ending scene of Magic Mike, I do understand it for couples, for sure. Molly can probably even agree with that. We were like, oh, okay. It's all right. Between a man and a woman. And it was amazing with. I. Well, did you guys see the movie?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah.
Brie Bella
Okay, so remember that the scene with the water. Okay. They recreate that.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Oh, okay.
Brie Bella
And none of us. They were like, pick a girl from the audience. And here we're pointing at our friend, like, pick her. And then she. This girl gets picked, and we're like, oh, man. And then we see the rain come down. And then my friend's like, oh, that sucks for that girl. She's gonna get wet. Well, it ends up being a pro dancer. And then they do this whole, okay, okay. But at first we were like, oh, wait, what's going on?
Nikki Bella
Okay, Nick, you know, summer's coming up, which means a lot of fun things are going on. I feel like from our family reunion to different wine events.

Shane Mosley Jr.
Ice cream.
Brie Bella
Oh, okay. What flavor?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Anything has Salt and spoon.
Brie Bella
Oh, my gosh. Salt and spoon. So good. And then real quick, sneakers. What's your like, what's your go to sneak Jordan ones? I love Jordan ones. Oh, there you go. I think after this broken ankle, I have to change. So I've always worn the air force, the high top, but I just feel like I might need to change my game a little bit, which will be hard for me, though. Yeah, but I could tell they're like, you're still wrestling in that. I'm like, well, I can't do the boots and different things, and I also want to look cool, so. Okay, who talks more, trash boxers or WWE Superstars?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Oh, WWE Superstars for sure.
Brie Bella
Right? We're pretty good at it.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Oh, you're great.
Brie Bella
Okay, so if you were wwe Superstar, would you be a healer, a baby face? Like, what do you think you'd be better at?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Probably baby face.
Brie Bella
I actually could see that baby face. And what would you call your finishing move?
Shane Mosley Jr.
I don't know.
Brie Bella
Maybe the I Am Or I am. You know, or the Holy one or something. I don't know.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Something.
Brie Bella
Okay. One athlete you'd love to train with,
Shane Mosley Jr.
probably like Bud Crawford, maybe.
Brie Bella
Okay.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah.
Brie Bella
Do you watch NFL? You watch football? Yeah, yeah. Do you have a team or. No.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Are you, like, the Raiders?
Brie Bella
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
I'm with Las Vegas Raiders.
Brie Bella
Yep. Actually, I'm so stoked for your quarterback this season.
Shane Mosley Jr.
He's going to be great.
Brie Bella
Very great. I'm a diehard Eagles fan, so. I know, you know, but I could, like, see. I would be very interested to see you train with, like, an NFL player.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Okay.
Brie Bella
You know, well, because did you hear what Tom Brady said about, like, WWE Superstars? You know, what we do is cute, Which I'm not gonna lie. Like, yeah, NFL players are. They're elite athletes. You're an elite athlete. So I would love to see you be mixed in with that. That would be like, a fun collaboration.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Like, I would like to train with a WWE star, though.
Brie Bella
Yes.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah, I feel like.
Brie Bella
I think that would actually be really cool. Like, I could see you training with Seth Rollins. I think you guys would have a really good, like, train session.
Shane Mosley Jr.
That'd be cool.
Brie Bella
Yeah, he would be. I'm trying to think of, like, our super elite with, like, strength and agility because I'm trying to think of boxing.
Shane Mosley Jr.
What about Cody Rhodes?
Brie Bella
Cody Rhodes, too, and he's a.
Shane Mosley Jr.
He's a son of a.
Brie Bella
You know, actually, you know what? Cody Rhodes, I love Cody.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah.
Brie Bella
He's so great. And I'm curious, actually. I think you two would have a great conversation because he just did Mortal Kombat and I. I wonder what his training was like for that.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah.
Brie Bella
Because I think they had to do, like, all their own stunts. Okay, cool. And I feel like we're going to be seeing a lot of, you know, stuff like this because now we're all under the same roof. So I. We're all probably gonna be showing up to your stuff. You'll probably be getting in the ring here soon.
Nikki Bella
SummerSlam, let's go.
Brie Bella
I think SummerSlam would be a great place to showcase you. I mean, Brock Lesner is going to be there.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Okay.
Brie Bella
You know, get in the ring with him.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Brock is incredible.
Brie Bella
Brock's incredible. Isn't it crazy how he still looks? Yeah, he's like, man, just when we talk, like, you guys elite athletes.
Shane Mosley Jr.
He's.
Brie Bella
He's an elite, for sure, like, UFC champ, obviously. WWE champ.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah.
Brie Bella
Incredible champ of, like, the cornfields, whatever, where he is from. Like.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yes.
Brie Bella
I don't know what it is about the guys from there. Okay. One TV show you can rewatch over and over. Hmm.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Let me see. Stranger Things probably.
Brie Bella
You know, I still haven't even watched.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Oh, it's such a great show.
Brie Bella
Is it?
Shane Mosley Jr.
It's a great show.
Brie Bella
Okay.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah, it has that 80s vibe and it's.
Brie Bella
I love that. Okay, that's cool. Phone call or text message?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Phone call.
Brie Bella
Okay, good.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah, man. That's easy, right? I can just express myself a lot better.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
I feel like with text, like I can't really express myself the way that I really want.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
I need like emojis and I'm like, hear my energy. Okay.
Brie Bella
Oh, yeah, for sure. So do you ever do, like the voice notes, like, if you can't make the call? That's too. I do the audio sense.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah.
Brie Bella
Yeah, totally. Early morning workout or late night gym session?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Early morning.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah. Get it, like, get everything going, but also get everything going.
Brie Bella
Yeah, yeah. And do you do it like on an empty stomach or do you have to have like some protein before you
Shane Mosley Jr.
every now and again? I'll do it on an empty stomach, but mostly it's with protein or protein.
Brie Bella
Yeah. You need to get a little base.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah.
Brie Bella
One word your wife would use to describe you.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Hard headed.
Brie Bella
Okay. This has been such an incredible interview, by the way, and we always love to leave our listeners with a little bit of in inspiration. Affirmation. So what do you want people to understand about Shane Mosley Jr. After this conversation?
Shane Mosley Jr.
I want them to know that I'm resilient and I'm always going to show up at my best.
Brie Bella
I love that.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yeah. I'm going to give my all always.
Brie Bella
Yeah. And is there a motto you live by?
Shane Mosley Jr.
There's many. I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I would say that my dad used to always tell me, there's no plan B, there's only plan A.
Nikki Bella
That's great.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Right. And I also believe that to be in my. My faith is there's only one way to the father is that that's the son. There's only one way.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
So if you believe that you'll get to everything that you want.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
And look at everything that I have.
Brie Bella
You know what I mean?
Shane Mosley Jr.
Right.
Brie Bella
That's really cool. And I. I have to say, like, this interview, I think people are just gonna see. There's just so, so much to you. And I think it's really awesome to see a softer side of someone who's so strong and fierce. And we see this one side and Then it's amazing to get to know this. And I know especially for our listeners then they love the husband and dad side as well and like to have that and just your faith as well
Shane Mosley Jr.
that that hard side protects that soft side.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Right. I need that hard side to protect this soft side and everything that I love. Right. Because that's necessary.
Brie Bella
Right. Well, that's also what squirrels were discussing last night. That's being a real man. Like, where are they at nowadays? But you know what I mean? Like have the hard but protect the soft.
Shane Mosley Jr.
Yes.
Brie Bella
Maybe don't put the soft on the outside and then there's no hard on the inside. I don't know. But yeah, there's a lot of discussions.
Shane Mosley Jr.

Episode: "I Am Shane Mosley Jr."
Date: May 25, 2026
Host: Nikki Garcia (solo, Brie is absent this episode)
Special Guest: Shane Mosley Jr.
In this heartwarming and candid episode, Nikki welcomes middleweight boxer Shane Mosley Jr. for an open conversation about legacy, resilience, faith, and family. Fresh off a major win in his debut fight with Zufa Boxing, Shane shares insights on carving his path outside his father's shadow, evolving through setbacks, the unique landscape of Zufa Boxing, and the importance of fatherhood and authenticity. Throughout, Nikki brings both her own experiences as a performer and parent to the table, setting up a dynamic, heartfelt discussion.
“Before 15, I just thought it was my dad’s thing… I would love to go fights… and just be there for my dad… It wasn’t until 15 that I saw it as my own thing.”
— Shane Mosley Jr. [03:46]
“My mother also gave me the knowledge of, your dad’s success is not yours, so don’t ever try to claim that.”
— Shane Mosley Jr. [08:35]
“I was so convinced that I was going to win… As they announced [the winner], I’m just breaking down... But after that loss, I had the best performance of my career.”
— Shane Mosley Jr. [10:09 & 11:16]
“There’s no plan B, there’s only plan A.”
— Shane Mosley Jr. [48:54]
What is Zufa Boxing?
Shane describes Zufa as a new, league-style organization for boxing—akin to UFC or WWE—rather than the fragmented system of traditional boxing ([15:37]–[17:12]).
“Zufa Boxing, to my knowledge, is like a league… In boxing, we don’t have that. In MMA, it’s the UFC. In wrestling, it’s WWE… I could be one of the first champions in this and leave my mark.”
— Shane Mosley Jr. [15:37 & 17:13]
Character and branding opportunities: Discussion about how Zufa may allow boxers to develop personas, entrance music, and a distinctive public identity, similar to WWE stars ([17:30]).
“Imagine if my ring name was ‘I Am Shane Mosley Jr.’… I’m just me. I just am.”
— Shane Mosley Jr. [19:02]
“My prayer all the time is, ‘God, shine your light in me and through me.’”
— Shane Mosley Jr. [20:09]
“Everybody tells me, ‘Oh, because your dad is a legend, you’ll never be good enough’... But I’m gonna show it.”
— Shane Mosley Jr. [25:30]
“One fight at a time, one step at a time. Watch me. I’m just going to get better every day.”
— Shane Mosley Jr. [26:00]
“At 16, I was like, ‘I’m going to marry you, I’m going to be world champion…’ I got two of those.”
— Shane Mosley Jr. [31:14 & 32:00]
“I wanted them to see their dad just be resilient… they saw me fail… and I wanted them to also see me succeed…”
— Shane Mosley Jr. [34:35]
“Parenting or fighting? By far, it’s parenting—my daughter is way worse than my three boys combined!”
— Shane Mosley Jr. [38:11]
