In this episode of The Nikki & Brie Show, Brie and Nikki sit down with the endlessly charismatic Josh Segarra to talk wrestling dreams, Broadway roots, dad life, and his latest role in Fox’s Best Medicine. From starring in Abbott Elementary, She-Hulk, Scream 6, and The Other Two, to lighting up the stage on Broadway in On Your Feet, Josh has truly done it all, and somehow still makes time for school pickups and rehearsal at 4:30. We love a working dad king! Of course, we had to dive into his wrestling fandom. Josh shares how he grew up idolizing the Ultimate Warrior and why he’d absolutely say yes if WWE ever called. We’re already fantasy booking Sheriff Mark with handcuffs at ringside to help The Bellas snag those tag titles. Manifestation activated! And when it comes to comedy, Josh opens up about sharpening his tools on Broadway, honoring great writing, and how the best laughs often come from truth, not improv. He also gets candid about rejection, jealousy, overthinking, and de...

What up, everyone? So today we're hanging out with someone you know and love. You've seen him in she Hulk, the other two, Abbott Elementary. One of my favorite Scream 6. And he's been non stop since his Broadway days in on your feet. Now he's starring in Fox's best medicine as sheriff Mark. Basically, let's admit, Nikki, he's our favorite sheriff right now. Please welcome to the Nikki and Brie show, Josh Segara. Well, what up, Josh? Welcome to the Nikki and Bri show. And before we get into Fox's hottest show right now, best medicine, we need to talk a little pro wrestling.
Nikki Bella
Yes.
Brie Bella
I mean, you, I mean, if I'm correct, you've been part of a wrestling indie show.
Josh Segarra
Oh, well, I have to tell you, I'm slightly embarrassed even talking to two of the goats right here. So I feel I, I was part of. I was part of all in. I came out with my boy, Amelia, which was very, very cool. I will remember him asking me to come out with him. I remember that entrance for the rest of my life. I had no idea. I hadn't even looked at the ring yet. Cody was like, you guys, you guys saw the setup and everything and just the adrenaline was pumping. So I was like, yeah, man, we're ready, let's go. And we're backstage and that music hit and I came out and those lights were just blaring and the crowd started and I didn't know, there were steps. I didn't even. I started walking back before we were supposed to. It was just. It was all a very crazy experience, you know?
Brie Bella
But I'll never forget now being out there. Did it give you an itch at all? Like, do you see yourself ever coming to WWE and getting the ring?
Josh Segarra
Absolutely. But I'm going to be honest with you. I have so much reverence for what you guys do that I don't know if I'll ever be able to take, like, a proper bump. I don't know, like, if my neck can handle that or my back can handle that. So I. I'll get on a mic, I'll go out there and I'll take part any way they let me. But there's. There's a. There's a little bit of fear inside, for sure. I know I. I know how hard it is. So I'm not. I'll get ready. I'll get ready for a couple months. I'll put a ring somewhere and I'll figure it out to make sure that I can do it to the. To the. To the. The way it should be done.
Brie Bella
All right, I think, you know, we'll
Nikki Bella
talk to Cody, you know. Well, I mean, years ago you said, like, if Bad Bunny ever needed, you know, a partner, there are rumors he may come back. So if he does.
Brie Bella
Well, I think what we need is the Bella twins might need someone to help. Help us win those tag titles.
Nikki Bella
But, like, as. Like him as the sheriff.
Brie Bella
You know what I mean?
Josh Segarra
You guys. Oh, you're speaking this into existence for me right here. I would. You. You let me know when and where, and I got you. See, I'm going to try to channel. I'm trying to channel, like, you know, I'll try to channel Jimmy Hart. I'll try to channel, you know, Bobby the Brain. I'll try to be. I'll try to come out there and maybe cause a little hijinks, you know, cause a few problems. Maybe a cane to the back or briefcase to somebody, and we'll go from there.
Brie Bella
I think.
Nikki Bella
I think you just. You bringing your handcuffs and, you know,
Brie Bella
whatever else you have on your belt, we'll just, like, handcuff the girls to, like, rope or. Yeah, there we go.
Nikki Bella
To the ring. Some way.
Josh Segarra
What's funny about that belt is that there's no gun on that belt because there's no crime in port when. So I only have handcuffs. That is the most dangerous thing I have. I don't think I have pepper spray on there. I Think it's literally keys, handcuffs, and I don't. One more thing that has no use whatsoever. I think, like a notepad or something like that. So.
Brie Bella
Okay, well, we could, like, talk about people. Yeah, give them some tickets.
Nikki Bella
You know, you could write something, like, during the matches, you write something down or, like, rate them like, 1 to 10.
Brie Bella
You violated Brie Bella in this way. All right, we're definitely writing it. So, Josh, you have been part of a lot of big comedies. I mean, when did you know that you were made for comedy television? Like, have you always been funny? Like, has this been your thing, like, growing up? Like, you're like, the funny guy.
Josh Segarra
You know, my cousin. My cousin A always said that whenever we were at theme parks. And I can vouch for this because I have memories of doing it, but she was like, there wasn't a show that they needed a volunteer that, like, you weren't shooting your hand up for. So I grew up in Orlando, so that was every time we were at Universal, and they need somebody to get slimed. That was me. Anybody that needed somebody to join in some, you know, park adventure, that was me. I grew up a big SNL fan. I grew up a big, you know, Nickelodeon was in my backyard, so I grew up watching SNCC and watching all that and Keenan and Cal and, you know, so they were. They were a couple years older than me, so there was always, like, this idea of, like, man, like, there are kids that are doing this thing that I really like. And, you know, we grew up on. On the golden age of sitcoms. So after coming home from school, it was watching Saved by the Bell and Family Matters and. And Fresh Prince and, you know, tgif. I just was raised on that. On that multicam, so, you know, imitating Chris Farley and Adam Sandler in the mirror and, you know, imitating Ben Stiller and Jim Carrey and just trying to do their voices. And as I got older, you know, when I started learning about this. This circus that we all play in, you know, I had a teacher in high school that was really instrumental in my life and used to always say, like, we're not doing high school theater. We're doing theater in high school. And so she always. She introduced us to, you know, that was my first time learning about Shakespeare and, you know, and musicals even, you know, I didn't grow up with musicals. And so learning that in high school and that led to college and came up here to New York, you know, a little over 20 years ago, and. And then it became like, oh, all right, well, I guess this is a real thing.
Narrator
And.
Josh Segarra
And then from there, I've gotten lucky that I've gotten to crack some jokes along the way, and I've gotten to kind of tap back into that dream. That's the truth, is that I dreamt about doing this. I didn't know I could show businesses in my family. My parents are pharmacists, and they were just working hard to give us a good life. So now that I get to call it my job and then I'm chatting with you guys, it'll never stop being the coolest thing in the world to me ever.
Brie Bella
A.
Nikki Bella
That's so awesome. I love that.
Brie Bella
I love it. Well, you're definitely great at it. I mean, I have to say, even watching you, like, when you're in Abbott Elementary, Love that show. But do you guys, like. Is that all scripted, or do you guys go off script? Because I feel like. It feels like It's.
Nikki Bella
Feels like some improv.
Josh Segarra
No, that is all scripted. Like, that's all them. So that's the thing. Like. Like, the best writing is when you're reading it and you're already laughing, you know, so when I'm reading those Abbott scripts, you know, that was. That's. I have. So I'm so honored to be part of them over there. They've got such a good thing going. They're such a good band, you know, and they're all playing their instruments perfectly. So, you know, joining in, it's just like, all right, what do you need me. You need me to play the tambourine? You want to play guitar? I'll play whatever you need of me, you know, and with them over there, it just laughs all day long, you know? And every once in a while, for sure, you know, Quinta will think of something and say, like, oh, you know, pop this in there. Or, you know, if you're feeling, you know, not on something that I'm guesting on, like I do with them over there, but, you know, something like on medicine, where the character is. Is, you know, you're. You're helping kind of bring that to life in its first few episodes, right? You're crafting it. You know, what usually ends up happening is that they'll. They'll start shaping it to your vernacular and certain things that you are. So if I. If I'm playing up. If I'm playing a Puerto Rican character, I have certain Puerto Rican isms about me that'll sneak in if I'm doing it. And if anything, the writer's going like, hey, say that again. You. Or, like, do that again, because that's so specific to our world. It'll help the audience come and get to know us a little bit better. So that's always a trip whenever, you know, I'm doing something and I'll. You know, my script is. Is. Is definitely my roadmap. That's my bible. My writers are always smarter than I am, but if something pops in my brain and. And we've got a couple extra. A couple extra minutes on the schedule, I'll pop in a few things and see if something will stick. And then they'll say, all right, let's build on that, or, let's try this, and. And we'll go from there.
Brie Bella
That's really incredible. Like, that's the thing about acting I'm always impressed with, is sometimes you hear people have to. Let's stick to the script because, you know, writers are sensitive with the writing. But then how you guys just make it so creative and magical by just the way you say it. But then when they do let you go a little off script, how more magic can be made. And.
Nikki Bella
But it also just shows you those shows that have incredible writers.
Brie Bella
Right.
Nikki Bella
Because they make that happen. And it's fun because that's kind of like this new era at wwe, too, where they go with you with the script. We're, like, going back and forth, and then they'll see, like, a little Nikki Bella is them, and they're like, wait, we need to change this to, like. That is totally, like, more sassier how you would say it. Like, I feel like that's how they are now, which is cool. It's so much more fun.
Brie Bella
Yeah. That way. Now for Fox's the Best Medicine show, did you have to audition for it or they, like, now we know. He. He's perfect for this part.
Josh Segarra
I auditioned for it, and I want to go back. I got a question about. I want to. I want to ask you guys a question. No, I auditioned for this one for, you know, and when I'm reading something, you know, if I'm reading it and I can picture one of my friends doing it, I'm usually probably just gonna text that friend and be like, hey, man, there's a job for you out there. Go grab this one. It was written for you.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Josh Segarra
And then every once in a while, I'll read something that, you know, I feel like I'm picturing me doing it, and it usually just feels like something that I can kind of find myself inside of it or. Or, you know, something that I know I can help bring off the page. And with this one, you know, I was jumping in head first. We shoot it pretty close to home for me. You know, it's, it's an hour drive and I get to be home and I get to, you know, we were talking about our babies earlier. I get to be home and be dad, which is very important to me. So to get to do both, to go live my dream and go pursue an artistic passion at the same time, also get home and have our own Royal Rumbles at home. It's, it's, that's the magic spell right there.

But let me ask you something. How, when, how often are you going off script? Is it something where they're writing it for you and you're kind of going back with the writers that day and you're putting in your body and then you're going out doing it that night and they say, hey, on this part, you can go off a little bit. You can try your own thing here. Or are you trying to be word perfect? How does that work?
Nikki Bella
So, you know, it was crazy because back in the day, a lot of us, like, we're being word perfect. But then what I realized is, oh, the people that are really getting over are breaking the rules. Like, they're going off script. So back in our era, I felt like when I was Diva's champion and we were getting a lot of mic time when we were doing Team Bella, we started to go off script and I was like, okay, so this becomes real because if the other people are going off script, I'm going to do it. In this new era, they kind of give you the base and then you write a script. But the, like, everyone's very much aware is we don't. Sometimes the crowds are going to boo you or cheer you or they're going to champ things at you. And in with the WWE Universe, you can't ignore it. If you ignore it, it's just going to get worse and it's going to overtake your segment. You have to learn how to get them back on track or push them in the way of the story you're trying to tell. So it's like you have to know, like, you know, before we got there, we know for a healer face and then this is a story we want to tell and this is where we need to direct our audience too. And so there. It's very open now. I remember it was probably two months ago. They're like, hey, we need you to, like, go interrupt Michael Cole in the crowd. And you're just going to jump on the commentator table. These are things we'd like you to say. And then I was like, well, you know, there's so much going on in sports. Can I kind of diss their team? And we say some things like this and they're like, yeah. And they're like, go interrupt any way you want. Whatever you feel like is going to make them boo you. So I just walked out there and came up with my own stuff. And it worked. They all hated me so much, and then I dissed their team, and then they really hated me. But it's kind of fun because you just kind of feel it as you go. You know your story.
Brie Bella
Well, that's the thing that's important, because there isn't, like, two takes because you're going live. If you know the story, then you could save yourself if people forget verbiage or even if you get lost. If you know the story, you at least know the point you want to get to. Like, I even remember the time Brian and I were with Stephanie, and we didn't have enough time to go over the promo. She goes, I'm just going to ask you guys questions out there. Just answer them. And I was, like, wanting to throw up and faint, but Brian handled it so well. But it was like, okay. And she's like, you know the story, so answer it like your character and for the story. So it was very.
Josh Segarra
No, you guys are doing episodic tv, so. No, I just. I hear you loud and clear. It's like you guys do an episodic tv, so it's like, you can't just veer off the story that you're trying to tell that's leading to the next, you know, ple. Like, you have. You have. You. You have weeks to get there, and today we have one opportunity to get us to the next step. So it's funny. That is how I watch it now, you know, Like, I don't know. I feel like it. I don't want to sound corny saying this, but of course, like, you know, you're with. We're with you guys so often that it ends up being like, oh, like, I'm watching and I'm watching the artist in the ring, you know, navigating the crowd, like, oh, look what she did there. That's sick. Or she turned that on them. Or, you know, and then, of course, we're just watching it all play out, and I'm picturing what they gave you versus what's happening, you know, because that's what. That's. That's what you guys are bringing to life. You're bringing it off the page. And at the end of the day, that's where. That's what we're there to see. So. No. Very cool. Thanks for sharing that.
Brie Bella
I love it. Or now Are your kids into wrestling?
Josh Segarra
I'm getting them into it. They're. They. They're at the stage. We were just last night. I've got some old school wrestling buddies. I've got the Legion of Doom. I've got Ultimate Warrior. I've got Ric Flair. I've got Hulk Hogan. So we're messing around. We had a couple, so they're. If it's in the background, I watch it now more. I'm more of like a passive fan, to be honest. I listen to podcasts, shout out to my boys. Chief Pete, Peter, Rosenberg, Greg, and Dip. That's what I listen to every week. That's part of the weekly rotation. So they keep me up to date on the week to week. But every play, for sure, it's on in the house. So it's just a part of my genetic makeup. To be honest, at this point. Like, you know, it's. I grew up with it, you know, like, you know, I'm talking about imitating actors in the mirror. Of course, dude. I was imitating, you know, I was imitating Macho and imitating Warrior. And I was dressed as the warrior. Probably three years for Halloween. And so that too, you know, trampoline matches in the back. Like, I know that. It's part of how I started doing this. Just playing characters and larger than life. Those were my superheroes. And, you know, I've heard you guys talk about that as well, and it's like they were larger than life to me, man. So they inspired me to do all of this. So to me, it's nostalgic. I still fall asleep sometimes. The gorilla Monsoon talking. I'll pop on. Very comforting about his voice. Yeah, there's it. So it's. It's. It's just part of me, you know, that.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Josh Segarra
You know, Ninja Turtles wrestling, you know, snl, all that. Those are part of the things that made me who I am.
Brie Bella
Do you know Nikki and I went to the Ninja Turtles concert at the state fair when we were young?
Josh Segarra
Whoa, wait, what does that mean? What does that mean?
Brie Bella
Like, the Ninja Turtles put on a show.
Nikki Bella
They put on a show and then sweater shoot up. Oh, well, no, they didn't do a concert.
Brie Bella
No.
Nikki Bella
A concert.
Brie Bella
No. They're in their costume, but they did
Nikki Bella
kind of dance, actually, right. To music. Like, they. It was like a musical. It felt like. And then Shredder showed up and ruined everything.
Brie Bella
And, oh, our cousin started crying. He had to go home because he was like.
Nikki Bella
But we all believed it. We all believe, like, Shredder wrecked the show. They did such a good job.
Brie Bella
It's not like vanilla icing, but they did the ice.
Nikki Bella
Was it.
Josh Segarra
What's the Go, Ninja Go ninja Go. Yeah, of course.
Brie Bella
And we were like.
Josh Segarra
That was the bop right there. So that's. I knew you. What you were talking about. I'm just mad I didn't go, so. I can't believe that. Like, a live show. That is so cool. Oh, I would be there in a second.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Nikki Bella
Who is your fave.
Josh Segarra
I mean, you know, I'd have to go with Michelangelo. You know, just, you know, he's cracking
Brie Bella
jokes all about Raphael.
Josh Segarra
Yeah. Because he's the badass. He's the defense. You know, he's the hardest one. You know, you got to get through him to get to the rest of the brothers, you know? Oh, man. Oh, I could. Oh, turtles. We were just talking about turtles. Probably gonna dress up as turtles next year. We'll see.
Nikki Bella
Yeah.
Brie Bella
Okay.
Nikki Bella
Well, you know, talking kind of musical right now. When you started acting, was it a dream to eventually get on Broadway? Because, I mean, you're crushing it on Broadway as well, which. That is so hard. That's so much work.
Josh Segarra
It is. It's a lot. It's those eight shows a week or no joke, you. You definitely. You're. You're. You're. It. When I. I always talk about it kind of feels like it's like playoffs, you know, like, you're just kind of in it. There is no in between, you know, Especially if you're. If you're in a vocally demanding show, you know, you're. When you're ramping up for your hardest part of the week, which is Friday, Saturday, Sunday, the rest of the world is winding down. When the rest of the world is, like, about to go on a Labor Day weekend trip, you're going into more shows than usual. Over the holidays, we do 10 shows a week. So when you're in that grind, you're just. You're just trying to take care of your body, trying to take care. Trying to take care of your mentals. As Marshawn lynch says, take care of your chickens, take care of your mentals. So you're just trying to take care of all of it. And was it a dream? Absolutely. Honestly, it was just kind of the only dream I really knew about because I. I was introduced to all of this when I actually started doing it through the stage. Yeah, I was a fan of tv, but TV was so far away from, like, my realm of reality that it was. When I got to middle school was the first Time I did a little community theater. I did the wizard of Oz and played the lion, which was awesome. And then to high school, and that was like, oh, like people in New York are actors. Like, that's where the actors live. I don't even think about la. It was like, oh, the actors live in New York. Cause that's where the stage is. So I came up on a field trip in eighth grade, saw the Phantom of the Opera. Came up my junior year with my dad, and he just wanted to take me to New York just because I kept talking about New York and wanted to go there to school. And that's where I saw a couple plays. And that's when. That's when kind of the wheels started turning. Like, okay, well, I can try to get on stage, but once you know that that bug has been inside of me forever. But getting to. To accomplish that, you know, like, now it's forever a part of me. It's kind of. I always talk about it. That's like where I. That's where I think you sharpen your tools is on stage. You know, two very different crafts. You know, when you're. When you're working on screen, you're doing all your prep work, usually in private. You don't even sometimes get the benefit of a rehearsal, so you're just kind of prepping it and you're going there that day with all your ideas. So if we're working on something together, it's like, all right, we've got a scene, you know, and I'm going to try to do this in one take, and I'll try to do this in something else, and I'll kind of just be ready for whatever comes, comes lay it all down. We'll do as many takes as we need, and then it's in the hands of the editors, right? But when we're on stage, we're gonna do all of our prep work for those two months before. We're gonna try everything we wanna try. And then once we find what works best, we're gonna try to replicate that every single night. So that's its own craft, too. It's like, you know, after. After the holidays. It's middle of January and it's cold and it's snowing here in New York. And not as many people are at the theater that once were there over the holidays. Quieter of a house. But the coolest thing that, that. That always would bring me back to life, you know, if I was, you know, under the weather or whatever. It's like, man, there was There was definitely a version of me sitting out in that house and seeing my first Broadway show and seeing my first Broadway play. And I didn't know how many people were in the house. I just remember my dad taking me and my eyes were just like, that was it. I was hooked, you know, so getting to do that now and meeting kids at the stage door, which I love doing. That's my favorite part is the stage door after and dapping up everybody and just getting to chat with kids that were me back then. Oh, man, there's nothing cooler. I feel very connected to the city when I'm working on stage. I feel very kind of connected back to how this all started. And, yeah, I get to go back and sharpen my tools.
Brie Bella
That's amazing.
Nikki Bella
That's really cool.
Brie Bella
Do you see. Are any of your kids into theater? Are they kind of still too young?
Josh Segarra
No. Funny you say that. So I've got a fourth grader, so my guys are nine, six and three. Those are my boys. He came home and me and my wife were hanging out on the couch waiting for him. You know, he walks home and he pops into the door and he holds up an audition notice. He's like, mom, dad, I'm gonna audition for this. And we said, okay, let's go. And they. The. Our local high school is doing a rendition of Big Fish. So he got cast as a. As a. As a young character. And. And, you know, I'd always see him in the back of the car lip syncing. And they come to work with me a lot. I love having them with me. And, you know, just this year he started to ask a lot of questions. You know, what are certain things? What's this light 4 pop? And what's this white sheet doing here? And so I know that it's starting to permeate in his brain. And now he's doing this. And the high schoolers have been really sweet to him, and he's coming home super jazzed every night, and we're listening to a lot of musicals in the car and starting. So who knows? I think the journey is starting. The journey starting.
Brie Bella
Me too. That's really cute. It has to be amazing for you because he looked up to you and he's like, I want to be like, daddy.
Josh Segarra
Oh, man, I've shed enough tears on that. So I'm sure and I'll be ready to go next week. So he opens next week, and I don't even know what I'm gonna do. A full box of tissues is going to be used for sure. Oh, my God.
Nikki Bella
I love it.
Brie Bella
This moment of connection is brought to you by Xfinity. Okay, Nikki, I feel like, as moms, we've talked about this a lot, but the moment in our daily lives with our kids when we feel that maybe the TV's been on too long or when our kids are kind of getting bored not knowing what to do, you and I like to pause, you know, our WI Fi and kind of have them go outside, explore, have their brains get a little bit of a refresh. I feel like this is something we talk a lot about in the importance for it.
Nikki Bella
Right. Well, you know, it's funny when we talk about WI Fi, which is connection, but to also find those moments in our life where true connection. So us with our kids is so important. How amazing to be with a company like Xfinity where we could take those moments and pause our WI Fi and actually just connect with each other. Whether that's at dinner or, like you said, when we go outside and play. I definitely have those moments with Teo can. Because, you know, we. We watch tv, and he loves to watch his videos on the tv, and we have those. I have those moments where I have to pause the WI fi and be like, hey, you and mommy are going to have a conversation for dinner. We're not going to watch TBY dinner. And I'm guilty of that at times. But it's those moments where I realize, like, we need to pause it and we just need to communicate.
Brie Bella
Well, you know what's incredible, Nikki, is that with the Xfinity app, you don't have to pause the whole entire WI fi in your house. You can just either pause just the TV WI Fi, or if you want to pause the tablet, WI Fi so you can actually pick a device to pause. Oh, I love it.
Nikki Bella
I mean, I get to still look at my recipes and cook dinner, and he has to be outside while mommy cooks. But it's nice that I could still stay connected while he's disconnected.
Brie Bella
There's no more fighting. It's like family time just happens. There doesn't have to be an argument. You're not like, okay, everyone, let's turn off our tablets TVs. It's like with the control of pausing Wi Fi, there's no more fighting and picking the devices. Right.
Nikki Bella
You can choose.
Brie Bella
Yep. So you just easily go right into family time.
Nikki Bella
Mom. Mom and dads, we have the power with that app to just hit pause and be like, sorry.
Brie Bella
And if you're connecting in another way, then it always gives kids something fun to do, and I feel like distracts them from whatever it was that they were getting upset about.
Nikki Bella
Hey, let's be honest. We all need to disconnect at times.
Brie Bella
We.
Nikki Bella
We truly need to have that disconnection. And there's nothing better than convenience and having the Xfinity app to make that pausing time, that disconnection time so convenient. And then knowing that when we all need to connect back to do what we need to do, that we can do it so easy.
Brie Bella
Boom, boom. That's the tools we need as moms.
Nikki Bella
Do you know what I mean?
Brie Bella
That's the beauty.
Nikki Bella
We always want convenience. Convenience is number one for us parents. But when you help us disconnect in that way. Hey.
Brie Bella
And you can put the control in our hands, in our app. Thank you.
Nikki Bella
It's genius. It really is. Yes. Those small moments of connection are the ones that really matter.
Brie Bella
And having intelligent and reliable WI fi that make them easier is huge.
Nikki Bella

Brie Bella
that's xfinity.com. i have to ask, what does your wife think about your character, Sheriff March on Best Medicine?
Josh Segarra
She gets a trip out of it. This last week's episode was where Mark gets chlamydia. So we had a fun time. We. We had a fun time getting texts from my mom, texts from my mother in law. My mom got a lot of texts from her friends. Hey, how come you couldn't fill your son's prescription? So it's things like that. I always get a. I always have a good time, you know, you always. It's. I always have a very good time when my. When my family can be a part of the roles with me and with medicine, it's definitely one where everybody's involved and, you know, just not to be vague, I'll be more specific. Yeah, I've played some characters that maybe are a little bit more of adult content, you know, on certain networks that maybe my mom in law and dad in law were like, we skipped that episode. Josh, you know, where's this episode? You know, talking about the big C, I was wondering. I was like, I wonder what my boys are gonna grab from this episode. Right. And then just realized, oh, that's really smart writing, because they. It definitely went above their head, but they understood that daddy was kind of sick. Right. So. And yeah, just like a fly on the wall for them. Like, think of all the things we used to watch that we had no idea what they were actually talking about, you know, until now. We look back and you're like, oh, that's what they were doing. Oh, you know.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Josh Segarra
So we'. Yeah, yeah, Brace. Brace is having a good one with Sheriff Mark for sure. I think more so. We're enjoying being up in the Hudson Valley. That has been a fun time because it's, you know, it's a part of New York we haven't spent a lot of time in. So this. Yeah, we shoot up there in this little small town and we took over a little town up there and made it Port Wayne. And. And so we're having a really good time visiting all the pumpkin patches and the apple picking and you know, my boys, you know, I. I can. I'm going to talk to you guys if other people aren't listening, because you know what I mean? But for everyone that is listening, you know, and what we do, we have to be away from our little ones a lot, right? So when we're. When I'm on a plane for a job, I definitely feel that separation. Thank goodness. We got like facetime, right? We've got ways to do it. Pop home and we've got certain, you know, we've got. I'm not going to go more than three weeks without seeing them and little things like that, right? But it's so cool having something close to home like this because it's their adventure too, you know, like, they talk about going to daddy's work apartment, you know, like, I'll put it. We'll do Sunday night. You know, we'll do bedtime and. And once they're through, bath and in pajamas, like, all right, let's go say bye to Pop. I'll go downstairs. They wave me, they kiss me goodbye. I leave. I'll go get there. You know, make the drive easy. No traffic work for the couple days. Maybe I'll have a day off and then sneak back home. And they just know that they're there. They got their race car beds at the apartment. They got their toys there. Like it's an extension of them, which is really special on this one for sure. So this one, no, it's a good one for everybody, man. It's been a really special. For sure.
Brie Bella
I love that for you. Well, I feel like this show's doing great, so I feel like you're gonna have many more seasons for sure.
Josh Segarra
Heck, yeah. Heck, yeah.
Brie Bella
Yes. And you're living the dream, which I love.

Josh Segarra
You can't wait. Love games.
Brie Bella
And it's called what's the best medicine? Okay, so we're going to give you some scenarios that we've all encountered. Sometimes they can make us feel a little down, but we want to know what's the best medicine or remedy for each.
Josh Segarra
Okay?
Brie Bella
So no pressure. They can be real funny, petty, whatever. And you can either answer it as yourself or if you want to answer it as Sheriff. Sheriff Mark, that is is for you.
Josh Segarra
All right, deal.
Brie Bella
Best medicine for heartbreak.
Josh Segarra
Oh, ice cream, Chinese food. And survivor.
Nikki Bella
Oh, yes, Survivor. Boston Rob fan.
Josh Segarra
That is the goat right there.
Brie Bella
We were actually partying with him in Super Bowl.
Josh Segarra
We love, love Boston Rob. Love him. Can't wait for Survivor 50. Pump for it.
Nikki Bella
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Brie Bella
Okay. Best medicine for worst day ever.
Josh Segarra
Worst day ever. Home bath or shower. A theme already. Good food wherever you order from. You know, if it's McDonald's, go get you some McDonald's. You know, turn the lights out, pop something on. You want to watch and forget about that day, go to bed and do it again.
Brie Bella
There you go. That does sound like the best medicine.
Josh Segarra
I'm a homebody though, so my answer for everything is kick it on the couch to eat some food, watch something and do it again. The Next day.
Brie Bella
Yeah, but that's how I am. Me too.
Nikki Bella
That was me this whole past week. I was like, I gotta stop. I gotta do something. My son and I. You would just be like, what do we order on doordash now? I'm like, look, what do you want now?
Josh Segarra
Like, the adventure. That's what. Looking at doordash is part of the adventure. Spend a nice 20 minutes trying to find something new you haven't thought of yet. That's.
Brie Bella
That's the best part, really. Reading like the.
Nikki Bella
That I don't let him do McDonald's. He gets mad at me. He goes, well, when I'm 16, I will. And I go, well, if it's real
Brie Bella
food, then fine, he will.
Josh Segarra
And you're gonna be so like, I can't wait for your reaction when he walks in with just, like, three big Max, a box of 22 large fries, and McFlurry. That sounds incredible.
Nikki Bella
Oh, I'm gonna be so mad. Unless the ingredients change. We go to In n Out all the time. We love in and out.
Josh Segarra
Love in and out. Out. What about Chick Fil A?
Nikki Bella
Actually, we were driving by it the other day, and I was like, babe, do you want to do Chick Fil A? And he's like, chick Fil A? What's that? He hasn't been introduced to that.
Brie Bella
He would love it because he loves chicken.
Nikki Bella
I go, well, chicken tenders, chicken nuggets. So I need to take him to Chick Fil A. We ended up not stopping because he wanted. He's so programmed for in and out. He's just obsessed with in and out.
Brie Bella
Geez, you guys are making me hungry.
Josh Segarra
Absolutely. Me too. I'm gonna get Chick Fil A after this.
Brie Bella
Yeah, Chick Fil A. Okay. Best medicine for burnout.
Josh Segarra
Ooh, for burnout. Switch it up. Like, if you're burnt out on what's going on, you just gotta. You gotta switch it up. You gotta go somewhere else, take a different route. So, like, either completely forget about it, you know, Like, I'll give you an example. Like, when I'm working, I don't watch a lot of scripted television because it's what I'm doing at work, right? So I'm not gonna go home. No matter how good the show is, there's no part of me that's gonna go home and watch something that'. Night. So if that small version of like, okay, worked hard today, I feel like I did my thing. I'm gonna go home and either watch a ball game, turn on, you know, turn. Turn on some wrestling you know, turn on something that. That entertains me, comforts me, takes me out of the headspace I was in, and then, you know, keep it moving.
Brie Bella
I like that. Yeah. Yeah. What about jealousy? That's a hard one.
Josh Segarra
It is a hard one. What's the best medicine for jealousy? Oh, man, like, find your mantras, you know, Like, I've got a couple that I live by, you know, like, success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking the way you go about it, you know, like, so that's happiness, that's success, you know? You know, comparison. What's that one? Comparison is. Is the enemy. Like, it's like the. The Rob's despair, whatever. It's like, it's like comparison, compare and despair. Like, you know, that's the truth. It's the thief of joy right there. And there's just room for all of us, you know, like, that's something that you got to learn early in our field, right? You know, like, there's just room for everybody, and what's made for somebody else ain't made for you, you know, And. And then hopefully you get some opportunities along the way that what's made for you isn't made for everybody else, so you can remind yourself of that. And every once in a while, hopefully when you get to close to the end of that burnout out, something comes along that makes it a little. That reminds you, like, oh, I'm doing the right thing. I'm on the right path, you know?
Brie Bella
Right.
Josh Segarra
But go back to that. And I mean, and that's easier said than done, too, talking about finding your mantras, right? Like, it's also probably finding the people that, that. That are in, like, your front row, too, and going to them and not being afraid to ask them or tell them that you're feeling some kind of way, because there's nothing, Nothing's gonna make me feel better than running to my sons, you know, run into my wife. Like, run into my best buds who have known me since I was a kid, and just reminding me, like, hey, man, you know, I know it sounds corny, but, like, you're special to us, you know? Like, you know, you've been special before anything else. So. So don't, don't be. Don't be shaken now, you know?
Nikki Bella
Yeah. You know, our life coach used to always say, like. Like, try to find that trigger. Like, what.
Brie Bella
What's.
Nikki Bella
What makes you jealous. Like, you just gotta ask yourself hard questions, like, and that started to help me with things to be like, oh, like, there's something real Deep here for sure. But it helps. Like, when she would ne. Like, she just would pull stuff out of us, and I was like, oh, okay. So that always helped for sure.
Josh Segarra
Yeah. And that trigger.
Brie Bella
That's exactly. Yeah. Yeah.
Nikki Bella
So hard.
Brie Bella
Okay, I have a couple more for you. What about rejection?
Josh Segarra
Oh, rejection. That.
Brie Bella
That one's hard on people.
Josh Segarra
It is. It is. It's. I. You know, definitely, like, kind of what we were just talking about, though. I think it's all tied together. Like, you know, it just hurts. I will say that, like, I sometimes feel that it's. That it is expected, like, if you're hurting or if you are jealous or if you are, if you had just gotten rejected and that you're supposed to just, like, tough it out. And that's never been my lane to. To probably to the extent of I annoy people in my life because I will hurt, and I will hurt hard for, like, a. Yep.
Ad Voice 1
Give me.
Josh Segarra
Give me a solid 12 hours. Look, Fist. I'm upset. I didn't like how that went. I'll get over this. But you got to give me these 12, you know, like, and then. And then as, you know, as we get older, hopefully that time gets a little smaller and you take it out on less people. But I don't know. I think, if anything. Feel it. Feel it good. Feel why it hurts. You know, like, usually something that hurts or rejection, you know, there's something to learn from it. It, you know, and I try to take something from everything, you know, I'll overanalyze it till. Till kingdom come and try to pick out what it is that I could learn and what I could do better. And then once you do all that work, I don't know, man. Let it go. Go eat that Chinese food and go watch some Boston Rob and do it again the next day. Let's go.
Nikki Bella
I'm always like, yeah, well, Archangel Michael did. I think he was right for me anyways. Boy, bye there, you.
Brie Bella
All right. And then so we have two more. Next one. Overthinking.
Josh Segarra
I battle with overthinking for sure.
Brie Bella
I do, too. I. I feel like I've gotten better because I realized how bad I was at overthinking, and I was just like, I gotta let go.
Josh Segarra
Yeah.
Brie Bella
But there overthinking so hard.
Josh Segarra
I, I. I read a book. I wrote a book. No, there's a book called the Inner Game of Tennis that talks that. There was one thing that I grabbed from that book and it talks about. I'm not gonna go into the analogy, but basically, it's like, there's the thing that's actually happening, and then there's how we see the thing that's happening. And usually the way we see the thing that's happening is what we're marinating on over and over and over and over and over, over again. But if you, like, actually take a step back and just acknowledge the actual thing that happened, it rarely has anything to do with the things that you added to it later on. So I find that when I'm overthinking, that's what I'm really doing. It's like, oh, well, this happened, so it must mean that I'm this and I'm this and I'm this. Right? Whereas in reality, it's like, nah, man. Really, it just happened. Had nothing to do with you. It had nothing to do with where you were coming from or where you were going. It just happened. You know, it probably had to do with a million other things. So best medicine for overthinking is like, either do it yourself or have somebody that you trust that can help you figure out what actually happened, you know? And like, all those. All those memes that we see floating around where it's like the picture of the universe, and we're just like this tiny, tiny, tiny little speck. It's like, this is where you were when you said that one awkward thing and you thought about it for weeks.
Nikki Bella
Oh, my gosh, yes.
Josh Segarra
Yeah. That person is never thinking about it again. And you're like, oh, I offended them. Or I did this wrong. Yeah, stupid. And that person. And what's funny is that I've had so many instances in life where I've been holding on to something like, yo, man, I can't believe I said that to Nikki and Bree. Da, da. And then a few weeks later, you guys come up to me and you're like, yo, I'm so sorry I said that to you. And I'm like, wait, no, I was thinking that I did the thing, and then you got. And usually it's just everyone leaves every scenario worrying what they did wrong, and then you come back together, you realize, you know, dude, I had the best time of my life ever, you know? And, yeah, everyone think. You know, I think all of us. I will always hope that everyone will give each other a little bit of grace, you know? So when it comes to overthinking, I know that if I'm ever in a scenario with somebody that does anything that they could overthink in my brain, I'm always like, man, you good, bro? I might even say, hey, you straight, bro? Don't worry about that, you know, or don't. Don't think twice about that, you know, and take it off of their plate, you know, so. So if we can all do that for. For each other, I think that'll help us all out.
Nikki Bella
Yes.
Brie Bella
And just know when you leave this conversation, we think the world of you guys.
Josh Segarra
I feel bad about using you guys as the example. I was like, I don't want them
Brie Bella
to think,
Nikki Bella
by the way, I'm exactly like that. I have. She has to, like, talk me through things. I'll be up all night, like, oh, 100. You said hi, but I walked fast, and I don't think they heard me say hi.
Brie Bella
So they probably think she gets anxiety
Nikki Bella
over the craziest, you know, in an interview. Oh, I didn't mean it that way. And now I misunderstood. Yeah, I hate that. I want to get over that.
Brie Bella
I kind of have a hard time. Yeah. I've gone to the point where I don't give a anymore.
Josh Segarra
Oh, I'm gonna steal a little bit of that from you. Yeah. That night.
Brie Bella
Yeah, it makes me sleep really good.
Nikki Bella
I need to get that. Get to that point.
Brie Bella
Okay. Last one that I feel like everyone needs a little medicine for is how to deal with hate. Comments. Comments online.
Josh Segarra
Oh, man. Yeah, that one. That one is a. That one is a. A storm that has been a brewing for so long, right? And you know what? I'm going to say this. Anybody that's spewing hate online, I send you blessings. I said, I hope everything's good for you, bro. You know, like, I don't know what it is at 3:30 on the afternoon on a Tuesday that made you think that you needed to go spit, like, some jargon at somebody. But you know what? If I ever met you, I'm gonna dap you up. I'm gonna give you a hug, I'm gonna kiss you on the cheek, and I'm gonna say, hey, man, I hope everything's good with you, bro, because I don't know, man. Yeah, it's such a part of. It's a part of our world, Ral. And it just sucks, man. It just sucks. And you know, like, it's kind of. Everyone's just trying their best and, you know, so is there a medicine for that? I don't know, man. It just sucks. It just sucks. That medicine is. Turn that thing off. Get out of there and remember that. Amen. If they talking about you, that means you're doing something wrong, you know?
Brie Bella
And like, right.
Josh Segarra
Talking to you guys. Like, you guys paved a way and you guys, like, you guys have just done such. I don't even want to trivialize it. Like, you guys are just so important to the craft, you know, so, you know, it's just. It's part of being out there, right? And for anybody that's out there in the light, you know, and. But even not in the light, just anybody that's catching strays, don't worry about that, you know, like, that's on them. That's not on us, you know, that's not on you. That's on them. Them.
Nikki Bella
So true. On them.
Brie Bella
It really is. I mean, that's why we came up. Haters gonna hate. Bella's gonna ball.
Josh Segarra
That's it.
Brie Bella
No matter what.
Josh Segarra
That's it.
Brie Bella
Yeah, we're still going.
Josh Segarra
That's it. That's it. That's it.
Brie Bella
But it is hard. But one day we'll find the right medicine. But I have to say, Josh, you do give some really great medicine. And for all of you, please catch his new show out on Fox. It's on Tuesdays. Best medicine. And then you can see it the next day on Hulu. Get that Chinese food. Get inside. Relax.
Josh Segarra
Yeah.

A KFC tale in the pursuit of flavor. The greatest insult the Colonel ever suffered was being served a wrap that was just a snack by a friend. So he took two crispy tenders, lettuce, tomatoes and pepper mayo and wrapped them in a soft tortilla. It wasn't a snack, it was a meal. He called it a twister and never called that friend again. The Colonel lived so we could chicken the twister. Now back at kfc. Classic or with bacon. Also try it spicy. It's finger licking good.

Wendy's. Wendy's.
Josh Segarra
Of course.
Brie Bella

Nikki Bella
Okay, but can we, like, how about how bomb Arby's was with the Arby
Brie Bella

Josh Segarra
Arby's was the best.
Brie Bella
Yeah.
Nikki Bella
Have you seen their new slogans?
Brie Bella
Hot girls like Arby's.
Josh Segarra
No, I haven't seen it. That's awesome.
Brie Bella
Like their new thing.

Oh, that's awesome.

An Arby's run. A Wendy's run with that Frosty. You know, they have different flavored Frosties now. They don't even just. Oh, they do. They're getting.
Brie Bella
They do.
Josh Segarra
Oh, I don't know. I was gonna say maybe. I thought you were telling me they did. I hope they do.
Nikki Bella
Oh, no, I hope they do the jamoka shake.
Brie Bella
Oh, Arby's.
Josh Segarra
Arby. Yeah. You know your Arby's.
Brie Bella
Oh, look at. She got the jam.
Josh Segarra
That's awesome. That's.
Brie Bella
I love jama shake. I heard someone say jamoka in a while.
Nikki Bella
Yeah, but. Sorry, what were you saying? That was my favorite.
Josh Segarra
No, I was just gonna talk about Frosties. I think they have, like, four different flavors now. They've even adding, like, syrup in there. They tried to compete with the rest of the other fast food. They couldn't just have their chocolate anymore. You know, they had.
Nikki Bella
But you can't compete with Jamoca.
Josh Segarra
No, you can't.
Brie Bella
You can't.
Nikki Bella
No one can compete with Jamoca.
Brie Bella
Wow. What is jamoka?
Josh Segarra
I have no idea. As you're saying. I was like, I don't really know what it is. Is.
Brie Bella
I guess I think it was, like, coffee flavor.
Nikki Bella
Yeah, I must. But it's my fave.
Brie Bella
I think so. I remember it being good.
Nikki Bella
Yeah.
Josh Segarra
What's the J in there? What's the pun that they're going for?
Brie Bella
Maybe they weren't a lot of news, so they said jumoka jokes on you. We're gonna do the mocha shake, but we're gonna call it Jamoka.
Josh Segarra
That pitch meeting, they were so excited when they figured out Jamoka. They're like, that's how it is. Yeah.
Brie Bella
And look, actually, you want to know what pitch meeting I wish I was in when they pitch Jack Jack and Jack in the box. We're like, we got it. We're gonna make this man with a big head.
Nikki Bella
Like, he's gonna wear a suit, and
Brie Bella
he's gonna like, I wish I was in that pitch meeting. And so everyone. But it makes sense. Jack in the box, you know? I know, but don't you wish you were in that meeting with the hat?
Nikki Bella
Yeah.
Brie Bella
You know, the guy got a standing, like, ovation. Ovation. They were like, yes, absolutely.
Josh Segarra
I just laugh at their menu. They've got those jalapeno poppers. They've got tacos. Like, they were just like, we're not gonna focus on any. Anything. We're gonna do it.
Ad Voice 1
Yes.
Brie Bella
You know, whatever comes from the box.
Josh Segarra
Yeah.
Brie Bella
And then what was it about the tacos being like the hangover cure?
Josh Segarra
Oh, that was. Jack in the box is the hangover cure. I think it's the box as well. Something about the secret ingredients that go on in that box that, you know, I'll take care of you after.
Brie Bella
Oh, my God.
Nikki Bella
No wonder I get colonics.
Brie Bella
Oh, gosh. No wonder you need them. You mean. Okay. Same goodness. Oh, my gosh. Gosh. Don't hang out with us too long. Well, we love to end our episodes a little inspiration, affirmation. Is there a quote or a mantra you live by?
Josh Segarra
That one I said earlier is really something I live by. You know, it's. I can't remember right now. It's a. It's a Maya Angelou quote. It's either happiness or success, but they're both the same. It's like. I think it's happiness. I said success earlier, but it's. Happiness is liking yourself, liking what you do and liking the way you go about. About it. Because that's it. It silences all the other voices, man. You know, like. And it keeps. It keeps it all very, very small. And that's. That's the way I like to live my life. I like to keep it. Give love to those that love me. And. And. And. And, you know, keep it. Keep it real simple. You know, I don't. I don't. I don't try to complicate this too much. Keep it really, really simple.
Nikki Bella
I agree.
Brie Bella
I love that, Josh. And your energy is like that. You feel that from the minute you've sat down. Like, you. You beam that off. Off. So keep. Keep that up. Feels. It feels good. Even the way I saw how your interaction with Sam Roberts, it's like you have that energy, and so keep that. That's really special.
Josh Segarra
I can't wait to see you guys in person. I'll. I'll see you around for sure. And. And we'll connect then.
Nikki Bella
Yes, but, you know, we are actually. I want to say It's March, where RA's coming back to MSG, so if it's a time you and boys and your wife can come.
Brie Bella
Yeah, I think it's more March 30th.
Josh Segarra
Yeah, count us in. We'll be there.
Nikki Bella
Okay, perfect. That'll be so fun.
Brie Bella
Well, enjoy the rest of your media day.
Josh Segarra
Thank you. No, I ended it with you guys, so this is. This is perfectly. Truly, dudes, it was such an honor to chat with you guys. You don't understand how much we've been screaming for you for all these years. And my sister was geeking out on the phone before I got here. We were geeking out together. Like, you guys are truly, truly, truly. Just so awesome. So thank you. Thanks for the chat.
Brie Bella
Thank you so much. Thank you. So sweet, you guys.
Josh Segarra
Keep it up, man. Keep doing your thing out there. We love cheering you on.
Brie Bella
Oh, thank you.
Josh Segarra
Yeah, for sure.
Brie Bella
Means so much.
Nikki Bella
Pleasure, guys.
Josh Segarra
Thank you. Bye.

Host: Nikki & Brie Garcia (The Bella Twins)
Guest: Josh Segarra
Main Theme: A lively and heartfelt conversation with actor Josh Segarra, covering his comedy and acting career, love for pro wrestling, balancing family and showbiz, and tips for navigating tough life moments with simplicity and joy.
This episode is a warm, funny, and inspiring happy hour-style chat between Nikki and Brie Garcia and guest Josh Segarra. The trio dives into topics ranging from Josh’s roots in comedy and early love for performing, his reverence for pro wrestling, his experiences on Broadway and TV (especially "Best Medicine" on Fox), balancing work with fatherhood, and advice for dealing with heartbreak, rejection, burnout, and social media negativity. The conversation is peppered with playful banter, relatable stories, and memorable one-liners, creating an uplifting atmosphere.
Josh shares his awe at being around legendary wrestlers and describes his one-time appearance at "All In" as an unforgettable adrenaline rush.
"I had no idea...the adrenaline was pumping...those lights were just blaring and the crowd started and I didn't know, there were steps...It was all a very crazy experience."
— Josh Segarra [01:47]
On taking actual bumps in the ring:
"I have so much reverence for what you guys do...I don’t know if I'll ever be able to take a proper bump...I'll get on a mic, I'll go out there and I'll take part any way they let me, but there's a little bit of fear inside.”
— Josh Segarra [02:42]
The Bellas pitch a dream tag-team scenario where Josh (as Sheriff Mark) would join them, humorously musing about bringing handcuffs into the ring for some hijinks [03:34–04:16].
Josh recalls being the eager kid volunteering at theme park shows and the early influences of SNL, Nickelodeon, and classic sitcoms.
“On the golden age of sitcoms...imitating Chris Farley and Adam Sandler in the mirror...”
— Josh Segarra [05:04]
He credits his high school theater teacher for transforming how he saw performance (“not doing high school theater, but doing theater in high school”) and describes his family’s support despite their non-artistic background [05:59–06:44].
On what it means to make a living in showbiz:
“It’ll never stop being the coolest thing in the world to me ever.”
— Josh Segarra [07:11]
"The best writing is when you're reading and you're already laughing."
— Josh Segarra [07:30]
Josh cherishes being able to shoot "Best Medicine" near home, allowing him to be present as a dad:
“I get to be home and be dad, which is very important to me...that’s the magic spell right there.”
— Josh Segarra [10:26]
His nine-year-old son just got cast in his first local play, and Josh is openly emotional and proud about passing on the performing torch [23:43–24:52].
The group bonds over mutual nostalgia—wrestling, Ninja Turtles, theme park shows—with funny anecdotes about being star-struck and inspired as kids [18:07–19:36].
On sharing his roles with his family, particularly when “Best Medicine” gets a little risqué, Josh jokes about awkward texts from his mother-in-law and how his kids (thankfully) miss the innuendo [28:31–29:56].
The joy of shooting in a small town where his family can join, making work an adventure for everyone [30:00–31:33].
On balancing showbiz and parenting:
“Getting to do that now and meeting kids at the stage door…these were me back then. Oh man, there's nothing cooler.”
— Josh Segarra [22:55]
On comparison and jealousy:
"Comparison is the thief of joy...there's just room for all of us...what's made for somebody else ain't made for you."
— Josh Segarra [36:55]
On overthinking:
“There’s the thing that’s actually happening, and then there’s how we see the thing that’s happening…usually the way we see it is what we’re marinating on over and over...”
— Josh Segarra [41:20]
On hate comments:
“Anybody that's spewing hate online, I send you blessings...If I ever met you, I'm gonna dap you up, give you a hug, kiss you on the cheek and say, ‘Hey, I hope everything’s good with you, bro.’...That medicine is: turn that thing off.”
— Josh Segarra [44:47]
On living simply:
“Happiness is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking the way you go about it...It keeps it all very, very small. And that’s the way I like to live my life. Keep it really, really simple.”
— Josh Segarra [51:17]
Hosts throw out common life scenarios, and Josh gives his “best medicine” (remedy) for each.
Heartbreak:
Ice cream, Chinese food, and Survivor reruns. [33:42]
Worst Day Ever:
Home bath or shower, comfort food, TV, and early sleep ("kick it on the couch, eat some food, watch something, and do it again the next day"). [34:09–34:34]
Burnout:
Switch it up—don’t keep stewing. Try something outside your usual, and don’t immerse in work stuff during downtime. [35:59–36:49]
Jealousy:
Lean on your mantras and your inner circle; comparison is the thief of joy. [36:55–38:41]
Rejection:
Allow yourself to feel it, analyze what can be learned, but then move on and seek comfort ("go eat that Chinese food and go watch some Boston Rob..."). [39:17–40:53]
Overthinking:
Remember most things aren’t as big as you think, clarify what actually happened, and give yourself and others grace. [41:07–43:52]
Hate Comments:
Send blessings, don’t internalize, and know that negativity says more about the one speaking it than about you. [44:47–46:39]
“Happiness is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking the way you go about it.”
— Maya Angelou (as quoted by Josh Segarra) [51:17]
“Keep it really, really simple.” — Josh Segarra [51:55]
The episode is friendly, warm, and relatable, offering heartfelt laughs and genuine life lessons. Josh Segarra’s positive, down-to-earth approach to both career and family, his affection for wrestling and old-school TV, and his philosophy of “keeping it simple” shine through—making this a feel-good episode for anyone seeking a little inspiration, nostalgia, and camaraderie.
Final Message:
Keep it simple, lean on those you love, and don’t sweat what you can’t control—whether you’re a Broadway star, a pro wrestler, a parent, or just someone trying to get through a tough week.
