I've been in LA for 10 years now, which is unheard of for me. You know, coming from Kentucky, I never thought I would be doing all this stuff, so I love it. Just a whirlwind.

Do you miss Kentucky?

I wouldn't live there again probably, unless it's, like, I'm retiring way down the road. I've got grandkids or something. Like, maybe that. But I have to go visit at least, like, four or five times a year. I'm super close with my family, so I love that. Yeah.

So yesterday was Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day to you, too. How was your Mother's Day?

[Brittany Cartwright]

It was great. I went to brunch at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. They had, like, a seafood tower and, like, all that good stuff. So, like, crab legs and everything. And I went with Janet from the Valley and Lala from Vanderpump Rules and all of our kids.

Oh, my God, how fun.

[Brittany Cartwright]

And then I just spent the day, like, in the backyard in my pool with my son Cruz.

It's always perfect that way. That was like, us. We were chill. That's how we were Saturday, pool day.

Because it was so hot this weekend.

I mean, even in Napa.

[Nikki Bella]

But don't you think it's crazy that it was so hot and then today's freezing.

Yeah. Oh, yeah. My son was wearing sweatpants and a hoodie to go to school this morning. So I was like, what's happening?

Yes, it is.

Like, we were all just sweating yesterday and they're wearing. Yeah, my kids were wearing.

I mean, it literally rained in Napa today.

[Nikki Bella]

I know.

I was. There was rainbows. I was like, oh, my goodness. All the way up to Oakland. I know, right?

No, and in wine country, you actually. To see where they land or like, the ending of it. There's never a pot of gold.

We can never say pot of gold to our kids because you could actually see the end of the rainbow in the vineyard.

We haven't done that yet. Which we need to.

If we didn't have car service this morning, I literally, if I was driving, I would have pulled over and done something. Cuz I go, it's right there. It's like done right there.

Country, which I love. Okay, well, Britney, I have to ask you. So season two's been out. How has life been after filming and how everything, you know, everything being out there.

This has definitely been the hardest I've been on eight seasons of reality tv. This has definitely been the hardest I've ever filmed.

[Nikki Bella]

Really?

Yes.

Why?

[Brittany Cartwright]

Well, season one, me and my husband Jax, we were still together and I, we like, brought the cameras back up to film our. Our separation.

[Brie Bella]

Right.

[Brittany Cartwright]

So it was like just one episode this whole season. You see, like, the downfall, how bad it's been, what we all went through. Me, I wasn't even living in the house anymore, fighting constantly. He goes to rehab. I mean, it's just was. It's a lot of drama, but it's my real life and it's what happened to me. So I don't care to, like, talk about it, even though it's hard to do it all publicly, but I feel like I can help so many other women by, like, being open and honest with my story and help people get out of, like, toxic relationships and stuff. So that's been something that, like, keeps me strong when people are like, why are you talking about so much? I'm like, well, first off, it's not my fault. He knew we were filming and he still did all the stupid crap. So I'm gonna Talk about what happened.

[Nikki Bella]

Obviously, I 100% agree with you. I feel like some of us are put on earth to be the ones, the poster children, to show, like, real relationships, why we're reality stars. Like, we all showcase it, and then we all have to take the hard part of it. Dealing with, you know, social media, reliving the moments, that's always the hardest.

[Brittany Cartwright]

Right.

[Nikki Bella]

But I feel like it's almost a gift we've all been given, being able to be that brave and courageous to do it.

[Brie Bella]

Yeah. Yeah. And how has it been like, with your relationship with Jax when everything, like, airs, like, still, like, good terms, not good terms. Does it bring things up?

[Brittany Cartwright]

Things definitely still get brought back up. I feel like I'm personally in a better place now. Like, I feel it helped me be stronger in a weird way. I always say it helped, like, hold me accountable because it was on TV and it, like, you know, the whole world judging you and everything else. Like, I can. I feel like I hold a mirror up to myself, and I'm like, I can never go back.

Yeah.

[Brittany Cartwright]

You know, but with me and Jax, it's just. It's just a roller coaster. It's always up and down. He's in this phase right now where he's like, please stop talking about me. Stop talking about me. And I'm like, again, you did all this stuff when you knew the cameras were around, so I have to talk about it, you know, And I don't want to be silenced ever, so I'm gonna speak my truth.

Good for you. Good. And are you guys officially divorced?

[Brittany Cartwright]

No, it still has not been finalized yet.

I'm hoping it will soon. Just, you know, he waits till the last second for everything. I don't know, like, if he weirdly thinks that I'm gonna call it off or something one day. I don't know. It's weird how he waited till the very last day to, like, sign, you know, whenever I wanted to even get the process going.

Waited till the very last day, messed up on all the paperwork, did, like, all this stuff, and now it just seems like he just keeps doing stuff to prolong it.

And lawyer bills are such a. Yeah.

I have a great lawyer.

Like, nice.

Yeah, you'll see her on the Valley this season. And she, like, is, like, amazing. She's, like, strong and tough, and I just, like, love her, you know, she made me laugh whenever I was in there talking about getting a divorce, and I was like, I like you, you know?

This such a serious thing. But, like, I could tell she's like a girl's girl and she like really has my back.

Oh my gosh. I love that. It's so. I mean there. My divorce just got finalized. What like last week.

How long did it take?

It took.

I felt like pretty quick. I mean I filed for divorce. Sep. I mean, I guess it would have been end of August or beginning of September was pretty quick. And so I feel like when we really got things going, it, I mean, right. Would have been. Well, no. September.

No, it was right after Labor Day. You filed.

[Brie Bella]

Yeah.

So I think that's September.

Yeah.

First week of September.

So up until last week.

You know, it was funny because my mom said like, she's like, I think you were on the group text.

Like this can feel weird or different. I go, I feel great.

I feel really good and happy. I mean the main thing, I'm so happy not to pay any more lawyer bills.

And cuz that was just so hard. Just, you know, they rack up so quick and when they take their time on getting back, it's just all that time is money. But I, I feel free. Like I just. Yeah. I have this freedom of like I knew I kind of already had it, but there's something about it being official because that was like the crazy part to me. Like through this whole process, it's so easy to get married, but how hard it is to get divorced.

Yeah. In California I think it's even tougher.

Especially when you have a kid.

But he is the father of my child. So like, what's really going to change? You know? Like I don't know how it's going to be.

Yeah. And how's co parenting going? Oh, oh really? I mean it's a struggle.

It's a struggle because we have been through so much, so there's a lot of, like, resentment there for me. And I'm trying my best for my son to, like, not do that.

You know, but it's hard whenever you're arguing with somebody all the time, just like, here's my precious baby, you know, and every time he comes over, he wants to, like, start some weird argument or it's just been a whole thing. A whole thing.

That's hard. Yeah, it's. Well, and like you said, state of California makes it. It makes it so much harder here. But that's probably. I mean, how many times Bri would. When I knew I was dropping Mateoff at school and I wouldn't see him for a few days, I'd walk over to her and Brian. They'd be getting coffees or at their house because they're right by Mateo school, and I'd be bawling, crying. It's hard. It's gotten a lot better, I have to say. And I. Because Artem and I are doing better in co parenting. Like, we're just both, like, all about Mateo. Like, the relationship's all about him and what's best for him. So that's been nice. But it is. It can be such a struggle. And it's a.

Especially if you're fighting, you know.

[Brie Bella]

Oh, and I can't imagine then handing your kid over.

[Brittany Cartwright]

Well, the weird thing about, you know, doing it, you know, in the public eye is a lot of the girls that he's been, like, hooking up with and stuff, like, send me screenshots of their text messages, their DMs, pictures in my bed, like, a bunch of, like, horrible things. So I have to read the messages that he's sending. And it's been, like, at least four different women that have done that to me. Not just one, but what's the nerve.

Of the women I know? What do they want out of it is an ego satisfaction.

[Brittany Cartwright]

He, like, love bombs them, and then. Because he's a narcissist. Yeah, he is. He will. He will admit that a lot of them in Hollywood. Yes.

Breed them shoe.

[Brittany Cartwright]

Gosh. But he love bombs really hard. And they think that they're going to be, like, in a relationship with him, and then he drops them in a couple of days, and then they send me the screenshots and the messages. I don't know if they're trying to get him in trouble or try to get me on their side or what, but I'm like, I just wrote back to one girl, and I was like, he's not my problem anymore. Like, why are you sending this to me? I don't need to see this stuff.

Yeah.

Especially the vulgar stuff. It's, it's a lot.

I'm grateful I haven't had.

Any of that. And so I'm grateful for that because that would be so hard. Especially like, if it was photos that I know my kid would be around, like.

I just think like, as a woman, I would never want to do that to another woman.

It's crazy because I just can never imagine being like that.

I was also a lot younger, but the Valley means a lot more to me because we started it brand new. I came on fourth season of Vanderpump, so I'm like an OG now, you know, but me and Jax really got to, like, write down a list of our friends and, like, revolve it around our real friend group, which, you know, everybody on Vanderpump is real friends, too. But it was great because we're all parents and going through different stages of our lives and engagements, marriages, divorces, trying to get pregnant, having kids. Like, there's just a lot more at stake with the Valley.

It's nice to get other people's, like, perspective and, you know, just talk about different things. And it's always just a lot of fun. Yeah, it is so much fun. And I feel like I get a lot of support from my friends and from, you know, listeners and stuff, and I really, like, appreciate that.

And I had a couple comments where people were being like, no, Jacks. Oh, something else must be stirring. I'm like, we're literally going through a very public divorce. Pictures of him on Mother's Day.

You know, just, you know that comments.

Like that, you know, I haven't. I wanted. I was gonna post something today when we were on the plane, and Then I was like, oh, maybe I'll wait later. But, like, it's because, like, having the first Mother's Day single, I was just like, what's gonna come from this? Like, but that's sad.

[Brittany Cartwright]

How did you feel? I know that. Like, I just want to ask you so many questions because you've gone through something so public, just like me.

[Brie Bella]

Yeah.

[Brittany Cartwright]

How did you feel like your first Mother's Day single?

[Brie Bella]

I. You know, it's crazy. I don't know if it's because I'm super strong. Like, there's definitely moments, like, in the morning, like, you're like, oh, like, you know, I gotta go make my own coffee. Yeah, coffee better, whatever. But overall, and I guess because I'm so close with Breeze family, like, I felt really good. But you definitely have those moments. Because the one thing that I will say and, like, you'll understand this more so than any anyone else is you. You wish that the father of your son, like, that works out because, like, you love your child so much that you just want to be with who they also love so much, which is their dad.

[Brittany Cartwright]

Yeah.

[Brie Bella]

So you can't help but, like, I'll find myself, like, kind of romanticized, but just being more like, wow, that's just sad that that won't ever be like that again, you know, because you know how much your child would love that. Exactly. And we want to give our child everything. So that's when it hurts for me, or when I'll get sad, or if Mateo and I are ever somewhere where it's like we're by herself or even, like, you know, something yesterday, that special in the morning by ourselves. I'm like. Those are times where I'm like, get bummed out.

Yeah.

And wish it was different. And it's like, so. Yeah, it's hard.

I think that that's why you're so lucky you have your sister and her family. And I'm so lucky that I had my friends and their kids yesterday, you know, because it made it feel really special.

Yeah. Well, and probably Lala. Right? You guys are so close and I could understand she on show.

She makes appearances. Right.

So they're like friends of. I guess you would call them. Yeah. They're not like full cast members, but they. They're my real friends in real life, so it makes sense that they're on the show.

Me and Lala, our kids go to the same school together.

Well, listen, don't judge me for season one because I was gonna tell you really fast. I had like a liposuction done under mine, under my chin, and they thought I would be healed. Well, they like. Oh, sorry. They like hit a nerve so, like, I couldn't even like, move my bottom lip. So I have like so many episodes where I was having to like, hold my finger.

No.

On my bottom lip so that my bottom lip would move and my face was like, stuck.

Was that so scary?

It was awful. And I will regret it forever that I did it. Like, it's fine now.

But I wish I would have done it like two or three months before. Like three weeks before. You know what I mean?

But it just makes me, makes me feel embarrassed whenever I watch it back and I see my mouth is like frowning like, you know, I'm like, oh my gosh, why did I do that? Yeah, it's just one of those confidence things for me that, like, I've always been so worried about that.

But it's crazy what TV will make us do.

I mean, and it was just a.

Quick on the whim decision. Like I was there getting a little Botox and I was like, what can you do for my chin?

And it just kind of happened and I was like, wish I would have waited. But still, now that you know that story, you're gonna laugh when you say, yeah, now I'm. I was wearing like a head wrap on the first episode.

No way. But you know, the great thing about reality television is the producers probably loved that. They probably were like, oh, like this is reality goals.

Yes. It's just funny watching yourself back and you're like, oh, man, that's gonna live forever.

I have a lot of those moments. You definitely have a lot of those.

Moments when I was shit faced.

But you know, I always was like, I'd watch it back and I was just shake my head and I'm like, you know what? It's me.

That we had to film our reunion already. So there's only four episodes out so far, but we had to film our reunion early because Kristen and Nia are both getting ready to have babies. So Kristen. I think Nia's due June 10th, and Kristen's due June 17th.

So they're gonna be, like, a week apart.

So this is the first. First season I've ever done with reality TV where we had to watch all 15 episodes.

Before the reunion. So normally, Vanderpump Rules Days, Valley Days, whatever. We don't get the episode till the night before.

Because they don't want us to share it. They don't. You know, they don't want it to get out or anything like that. So we would have no clue what we were gonna look like, how it's gonna be edited, anything until the night before. So this has been a little weird because we've already done the after show. We've already done the reunion, but we still have, like, weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks left.

[Brie Bella]

Because we're like, yeah, okay, that's. I thought I saw something about the reunion spirit, and that's why I was getting confused, because I'm like. I thought they just came out on.

[Brittany Cartwright]

Air, so we, you know, technically, like, we filmed over the summer, so it already all happened anyway, so it doesn't really matter, I guess. Do the reunion. I did hear, like, a couple people talking about it, and they made a good point. They were like, this will be the first reunion, really, for Bravo where the cast doesn't have, like, the interactions from the crowd to change their opinions, because a lot of times, like, the crowd will turn against you. You could be their favorite one day and then their least favorite the next day. And people get in the comments and read about it, and then they want to, like, cater to that.

[Brie Bella]

Yes.

Those comments. Because they want them to look better.

[Brie Bella]

Yeah.

So we didn't have that this year, so it's going to be a lot more, like, honest, kind of.

Try to focus on the blessings that you have. And it's really hard to do that sometimes. But that's the best way for me personally to, like, get out of that negative mind space. Focus on my beautiful son, focus on my beautiful. My dogs or, you know, just whatever. I have my beautiful family, my health. Like, try to, like, really focus on the good things that you have instead of, like, dwell in that dark place.

And just always be positive and don't be an Internet troll.

And the Bravo world is different than other reality TV worlds, I guess, because, like, we have stuff like Bravo conversations.

That are all going through the same thing. So it's kind of like a cool little family in a weird way.
