Bri
Hey, Nikki. How are you?
Nikki
How you feeling? I'm good, Bri. It's gonna be one of those episodes, you know?
Bri
Well, I'm actually. I'm feeling a lot better. I'm on the upside of the cold you guys all heard I had last episode, so I'm actually. I'm doing good. I'm doing really good.
Nikki
You still sound a little stuffy, but you're better. Yeah, I feel like I'm finally out of the nasally stage.
Bri
Yeah, right.
Nikki
My voice is kind of back.
Bri
No, you. Yeah, you've been back. I feel like for a couple days now, like, you've sounded normal, but you know me, my sinuses, I have the worst. And I always. I. Probably twice a year might get a sinus infection. It's kind of gone down to one once a year. And so that's what I got nailed with. I had a sinus infection. So I'm, like, kind of now. Like, it's kind of leaving me now. I will say I woke up this morning, and I finally felt, like, no pressure, and I was like, oh. Oh, my gosh. And then I'm just waiting for, like, the rest to kind of leave. But, you know, Brian and I were saying. And I feel like everyone can relate to this, but sometimes it's nice to get sick because it's almost like a health kick. Like, you know, Brian hasn't had caffeine for six days. He's been eating very little, but very healthy, making sure all the fluids, nutrients, like, you really start to concentrate on your health. So you're. You're doing it all right. But then it's like, right when you're done being sick and you feel so great, you're like, okay. Like, I don't want to take for granted my health. Like, I feel so good. So sometimes I told him we were having our. I was having coffee, he was having tea, and we were sitting out looking at the trees, and we were like, you know how much it sucks to be sick? It's sometimes a blessing. It kind of just gets you back on track of being healthy.
Nikki
Well, I feel like that's why our bodies will shut down at times now. Sometimes we just catch things. But especially when you get under the weather of being run down, I feel like that's your body wanting and forcing you to reset to get back into a better pace. Health. Like, hey, what you're doing isn't working out for me. So let's regroup. Let's rethink about this, what you're putting in me and how you're living your life.
Bri
You decide to act like you were 25 in New York. So we're gonna keep you in bed, boo. We're gonna remind you you're almost 42.
Nikki
You were on it. So, Bri, real quick, this is so cute. So, you know, since I've been back, Tao's been with me and Tao, one day, we were in the kitchen, and he goes, mommy. So you. You wrestle live on tv? And I was like, yeah, you haven't watched? And he goes, no, and I won't. And I'm like, oh, you're not gonna watch mommy on tv? And he said, no, I'll only watch you wrestle if I get to be at the show. And I'm like, oh, smart boy. Because I told you he's been really bothered that he didn't get to be in New York City with me. So last night, we were sitting watching Raw Netflix, and I was like, becky and Maxine's segment was about to come up, and I knew there was going to be a little bit of a replay of our segment from last week. So I'm sitting on the couch with Mateo, and all of a sudden, he sees me pop up on the screen, and he's like, oh. And when she punches me, I can't believe it. No, the gasp he did. And he goes, like, his face got really upset, and he. He got upset. And I go, are you okay? And he goes, no, I'm really sad. That made me really sad. And I'm like, oh, well, Teo, look, Mommy's better now. I'm fine. And he's like, I didn't like that. And then he goes, you know what, Mommy? I'm gonna protect you, and I'm gonna go beat her up. And then he showed me his muscles. Both his muscles. And then he started to do, like, moves.
Bri
Yeah.
Nikki
But he goes, I'm gonna protect you. Which made my heart just melt, like, so much. But then it was very interesting to see his reaction. And I'm like, well, shoot, I'm a baby face, so he maybe really shouldn't come see a match.
Bri
But, I mean, honestly. Well, Buddy was wondering why they didn't put ketchup on your face.
Nikki
Oh, really? After a punch?
Bri
Yeah, because so many times people are bleeding now, so he always say ketchup, call it ketchup. So he figured they probably would have squirted ketchup on your face.
Nikki
Yeah.
Bri
Becky punched you.
Nikki
Oh, my gosh.
Bri
I know.
Nikki
That's actually really cute.
Bri
Well, Buddy was bragging about you at the coffee shop the other day, and.
Nikki
I was like, was he?
Bri
You know, Mommy wrestled, too. Like, he does not look at me.
Nikki
Loves his dodo.
Bri
He thinks you're way cooler than me. Like, I can. He hasn't said it.
Nikki
I mean, I don't blame him. Truth.
Bri
Said it. It's the way he talks about you. I am like, yeah, I am like, oh, my gosh. Like, he just looks at Dodo as, like, the coolest thing on the planet right now.
Nikki
Well, but we also have to tell everyone how he told me. But then he told you how he believes that I'm more intelligent than you, that I'm smarter than you.
Bri
Oh, yeah. Did I? Oh, I didn't tell you. He told me.
Nikki
I think you did tell me.
Bri
Yeah. He's like, you're gonna get jealous. And I'm like, What? And I figured he was gonna bring you up in wrestling. He goes, but dodo's smarter than you. I go, what makes you think that? He goes, she just. She's smarter than you. But don't get jealous, mama. Don't get jealous. Kept saying that.
Nikki
Brian, I love it. So when we were in the car in Tahoe, and I was explaining something to him, and he goes, you know, dodo, but don't tell my mom, because she'll get jealous. He's. That word. He goes, but you're so much smarter than her.
Bri
Oh, my gosh.
Nikki
And I wanted to record it, and I go, oh, thank you, bud.
Bri
What makes them think that that's so crazy.
Nikki
Hey, kids don't lie. Everything with them is organic. It's authentic. So, girl, he just knows his dodo smarter. Well, you know, we did take that IQ test. Don't forget that.
Bri
I know. Whatever. It's just, I feel like he always tell me, you're the best, mama. You just love me so much. So I feel like that's what he gets from me, and then everything else, he'll take from everyone. But, you know, I will say that's how it is. He, you know, tagged the front doors of his bedroom, which, thank goodness, it was washable marker. But, I mean, the kid drew on both of them. And in. In cursive, he wrote buddy's room. And he had his little people that he and Mateo draw the same people.
Nikki
Draw the same people.
Bri
Wild to me.
Nikki
Yeah.
Bri
Because Birdie didn't draw her people like that, so it's crazy to me. But then he made these circles, and then, like, dots in the middle. And then he was, like, telling Brian that they're boobies. And so he tagged boobies on boobies.
Nikki
Yeah.
Bri
I mean, that's crazy.
Nikki
It's actually pretty amazing.
Bri
Can't keep up with the kid. I just can't. I.
Nikki
When you sent me the photo, the. Right. When I looked at it, I was like, those look like a pair of boobs to me. But I'm not going to say it, because maybe that's just my mind being like, nicole, come on. It's not boobs. And so when I heard that they were boobs, I was like, I knew it.
Bri
Yeah.
Nikki
I knew those were boobs on the door.
Bri
Oh, my gosh. Well, and let's be honest. There was a lot of drawing, a lot of multi colors used. That means Buddy was quiet for a very long time. And I was like, yeah, Brian, what were you doing? He's like, well, the kids were supposed to be in quiet time because I was taking a nap. I knew it. You remember? I'm like, he had to be in a nap. So just think, he and birdie was.
Nikki
Always how it happens.
Bri
Yeah. Oh yeah.
Nikki
Well, you know, Mateo tagged my car with permanent marker. All my rims, all four rims have squiggle black permanent marker in the middle that I cannot get off.
Bri
Wait, but how did he do that?
Nikki
That's what I want to know. We were outside, but I go, I didn't see him drawing on him.
Bri
Yeah. So literally in that garage.
Nikki
Yeah, I'm literally in the garage with him and I'm like, how did I not see him do that?
Bri
Yeah. They're sneaky little things. They're smart cuz they watch us as they do it. They're like eying us to make he like quickly.
Nikki
I don't even know how he had grabbed it from the kitchen, kept it in his pocket, waited till we got outside and tagged all my rims.
Bri
Well, you know what? Buddy told Brian. Cuz Brian's like, what were you thinking? Why'd you do that? He's like, you've never told me not to. It's like smart.
Nikki
I feel bad there. Yeah. There's some things to tay does that I. I've. I can't get mad at because I know he's being curious and I didn't say it. And like yesterday he had. There was Silly Putty. Green Silly Putty. And he squeezed it and put it on my really nice customade. Curtains or drapes? Not curtains, drapes. And I can't get it out. And I'm like. And it's lime bright neon green.
Bri
Nicole, I feel like number one mom rule, do not buy your kids slime.
Nikki
I feel like everyone knows Silly Putty. I thought it was different, but anyways, you. I'm not.
Bri
Again, don't go any further than play. D'oh.
Nikki
Yeah. I go tay like mommy told you you can't sick the stuff somewhere. And he goes, well, not here. And don't worry, we can hide it because you know, you push back drapes. So watching him show me how he could hide it, I was like, oh my goodness. So it's ended up there on one of the rugs.
Bri
Yeah. But I feel bad. I tell my kids and they've been good. I go see all these things. I paid for it with my hard working money. Anyone who destroys them, I will start selling things out of your room so that they're paid for. So they. They're very good. Not touching certain stuff in the house. Because I'm like, right, you know, And I will. They'll watch me, I'll grab their stuff and I'll start. I'll pretend like I'm selling it.
Nikki
But so I've said things like this. So last night, like, even a few hours after the whole Drape situation, he goes to me, goes, I don't like your house. And I was like, what? And he goes, it's too expensive.
Bri
What?
Nikki
And I go, that's what I said. I'm like, the word. But it's probably because I've said, mateo, these things cost a lot of money. Like, you can't do that. So I go, first of all. He goes, oh, it's too expensive and too funny. And I'm like, funny is. He does seen like my decor? Like, what does he mean, funny? But I was like, oh. And I go, first of all, yeah, you're right. This house was expensive. Mommy poured her hard earned money into this house, but it doesn't mean you get to just do things like that. Plus, I give him a lot of freedom anyways to do things.
Bri
Oh, my God, your whole front room is dedicated to him.
Nikki
To Mateo.
Bri
And playroom.
Nikki
Yeah, massive playroom. I know. Am I talking about you?
Bri
He's like, is Aunt Breezy stooge on me right now?
Nikki
Honestly. But how dare? How dare her? But it was so. It's funny though, what they come up with. Like, even just to use the word expensive, but like, how he said that. But then I was like, my heart was like a little like, you try not to get hurt by it. And then I'm like, but I just know it's a moment. But it was. It's just funny what they come up with.
Bri
Oh, I so agree. Wow.
Nikki
You know, so, Bri, I had. There was a few subjects I wanted to talk to you about. One, it, like, what gave me the idea is like, so as you know, for SummerSlam week, and I think it continues a bit, but Fearless Nikki and wwe, they did a collaboration with where by Erin Andrews. Oh, yeah. And so on Aaron's podcast, like, she was rocking a Fearless Nikki shirt and talking about the collaboration and all that, and it's done really well. And I have to say, their stuff was so cool. It was so cool. And it's SummerSlam weekend. Yeah, it looked great.
Bri
I love the jean jacket.
Nikki
Yeah. So cute. Yep. And so. And then they were talking about my glow up, like, you know, Aaron said her thing, Carissa said Peptides, which that made me laugh. But then I was like, well, I guess I should feel good. I mean, I am taking nads plus that helps, I guess. Even though, you know, I. I think.
Bri
Too, it's because anyone who gets in shape nowadays, everyone's always like, now wants.
Nikki
It to be well. But I think of my past stuff like I've always been. Except for baby time, but, you know, I. I feel like I've always been in great shape. But. No, but I. I loved it. It was. I actually was extremely flattered to talk about that, you know, glow ups. But then I was kind of. It got me thinking about, like, glow ups and like, different areas of life and just, I don't know, thinking about different things. So I was like, let's talk about stuff right now that we can live like our best life. And something that, like, I came across that I was like, how have I never thought about. This was fall bucket list to have it. Well, a seasonal bucket list. So right now we're in summer, and we're coming to the close of summer. Right?
Bri
Right.
Nikki
So we'll be entering the fall, but to make bucket list for seasons. And I was like, this is so cool because you and I have always talked about your bucket list for your life or when we. When we come to the end of December, we talk about those goals or that list for the year, but we've never talked about seasonal and things that are just fun to do that kind of make you go out and have fun. Right. So fall candles, pumpkin spice, lattes, wine night with friends, random pottery classes. You know, let's go be in our artsy era for the fall. Like, what's that bucket list look like? And I'm like, that kind of makes life really fun. Right?
Bri
Oh, my gosh. I mean, major. I think that's why I enjoy every season, because I feel like I fall into every season, the holidays that come. You know what I mean? I just. Right. Yeah. So to me, it's a brilliant idea.
Nikki
Brilliant. So what would be on your fall bucket list?
Bri
You know, last year I was really big because obviously the fall is when the major holidays come. It's like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving, you know, then Hanukkah, Christmas, like New Year's, like, you name it. Like, we get, you know, all of that and it's. And it goes. It's fast. So last year I. I challenged myself to take it slow, to, like, not feel like I have to do everything to slow down, pick and choose, and just enjoy more. And I did that last year, and I actually wasn't. I didn't get burnt out at all when New Year's came. I felt like I actually really took my challenge serious and I enjoyed it. So this year on my bucket list, I feel like what I would love to do this fall is really enjoy the free moments. Not because something that happens to all of us in fall, and it's fall is we buy a lot, we consume a lot. I think I'm someone who, like, you and I will be walking. We might see a cute little decoration. We're like, oh, my gosh. And I don't know, it's like, it.
Nikki
Gets too much, and then something's sitting on a pumpkin, and we're like, oh, my goodness.
Bri
So this season, and I even fall into the arts and crafts. Like, I will spend so much money buying tons of arts and crafts to get really into that seasonal thing. So I really, on my bucket list, want to enjoy more finding fun adventures for my kids. And the money I spend is getting my pumpkin spice latte, them hot chocolate, or in our, you know, cozy sweaters, and we're on a fun adventure. I want to, like, figure out those things more. And even if it's me getting really super creative, like, we go and play, like, a fun scavenger hunt in a pumpkin patch or I take, you know, we're so blessed in wine country to be surrounded by some of the gorgeous forest and different things and find different places that do apple picking or. And make it like, my kids love games, adventures, and all that, and I get creative. Like, you know what Brian and I did one time, we realized they love word puzzles, but word puzzles are hard. So Brian sat down for, like, two hours before we went to dinner and made the kids word puzzles and, like, easy. Like, dog, cat, right? Like, and Nicole, they, like, were so good at dinner. Like, they were having so much fun. And so it's taking that extra moment. And I just want to think of that because, honestly, when I think of my happiest time in fall, it's a coffee shop, it's a pumpkin patch, it's a festival, it's with you. And we're in the crisp air with our kids running around, and it's not shopping, it's not worrying about what's underneath the Christmas tree. So I'm going to concentrate. That seasonal bucket list for me is all those really free moments besides, like, you know, now a $10 coffee, I swear. But, like, those free moments and really try to play into them and get creative with that.
Nikki
Yeah, well, you know what I love about this is I feel like it kind of takes off a lot of Press for the year. So, like, obviously, what's like, major words or talk this year in the past few years is about being, like, the main character of your own story. Right, Right. So I feel like we get to kind of take this three months at a time being, like, this main character. So, like, for me, the Fall, I feel like, because I just, as a mom, entrepreneur, doing all these things, trying to balance life. Like, there are things that used to be really important to me that I kind of just don't do. For instance, like, for me, it's like fall fashion and getting, like, into the closet. I already have. But coming up with my outfits, I used to be so great at that. So, like, all my seasonal bucket lists, like, I want to be a fall like Carrie Bradshaw this fall with what I have. Like, how can I mix and match? Of course, buying a few new pieces.
Bri
The.
Nikki
But, like, how can I really soak in that present fall vibe of, like, just my fashion? I'm the same as you, where I was like, I want to take advantage more of what's happening in Napa Valley, such as all the fall festivals, because we do have a lot, you know, pumpkin picking going and getting apple cider, of course, PSLs, making sure I'm going on morning walks after school drop off. If I have that time to, like, really soak in the fall season on my bucket list, I'm like. Because I used to do this all the time, but having my pumpkin carving party with, like, wine pairings that match, like, different, like, pumpkin appetizers that I'll be picking from your garden and, like, cooking. And also that was another big thing I put on my seasonal bucket list for the fall is like, once a week, bake a fall good, like, from scratch. Whether it's from a pumpkin that you pick or. Or what other fall vegetables and fruits are, you know, in season. Like, do that, share it. Put it on a neighbor's doorstep. Like, just. I want, like, full, warm apple spice vibes. You know what I mean?
Bri
I agree. Well, you know, Brian and I are growing pumpkins, and we're so excited to make pumpkin cake from the pumpkins growing in our backyard. And you'll have to, like, join in, because that could be what starts a tradition, but also fun to have our kids in there. And we're making. And it's actually a recipe that comes from Brian's family. That's the thing is, like, I feel like. And I think you and I are the same. We're twins, obviously, so sometimes we'll think alike. But I think we want things to really mean something and really be mindful this fall season. And, you know, I think that's going to be, like, fun to experiment with.
Nikki
Yes. So fun. So it'll be fun to keep sharing on here and having our seasonal bucket list and see what we hit and what's next. And even to kind of name we. We should think of, like, when we get into the fall, like, what's the name of, like, our character for this season? Like, do you know what I mean? Like, it'd be really fun, I think, to have that right? You know?
Bri
And, you know, when you talked about fall fashion, you and I are so, like, crazy in our closet about color coordination. Like, yes, you and I are the same, where it's kind of like whites, creams, browns, blues. And then, like, we get, like, darker and colorful. But instead of worrying about the colored coordination in our closet, we should make our outfits so, like, you and I and, like, we can, like, share with each other on Sunday. But in the front of our closet, it's like. And we have the shirt with the jeans and the scarf and the sweater. But make our Monday through Friday be. And not care about color coordination. Like, let go of that OCD and do that.
Nikki
It's like meal prepping. Do your fashion prepping for the week, especially for parents, because we know how that morning is.
Bri
Right.
Nikki
Especially school time. We know what we're focusing on in the morning.
Bri
Yeah.
Nikki
And especially some of us who don't wake up to alarm clocks. We wake up when our kids wake up. But I agree with you. I would love to do that. And one of the best investments I've ever done is it's so cute. Is getting those styling racks. And I have a nice foldable one, but I pop it out. Usually when I'm about to go on vacation, I start to hang my outfits for vacation, or let's just say summer slam week, when I have all my different appearances. But that would be fun to put on that rack. Like, my Monday through Friday, like, fall wear. Yeah, Great idea.
Bri
I just don't have room for that, but. For sure.
Nikki
But. Right.
Bri
I'll just.
Nikki
Well, you kind of do. You could do it in your office.
Bri
No. Oh, bug me.
Nikki
Okay. Yeah, that's.
Bri
My office. Has to be clear. I see, like, my. My things that I want, but, no, it needs. I need more space.
Nikki
Yeah. Well, you know, when you're talking about mindfulness and being more mindful in the fall, which I agree, because there's so much fun that we can do, that doesn't empty Our bank.
Bri
Right. Temptation Media knows how to really, like, get us to spend our money.
Nikki
They do. That's why we got to stay strong. Mind in our minds, mindfully. To be like, no, we know what you're doing.
Bri
I don't need that Santa Claus. Even though you're making me feel. It would add so much to my kitchen.
Nikki
Even though if I had it on my doorstep, it would be really jolly.
Bri
And I mean, it sings Jingle Bells, it's holding warm cookies, but has a.
Nikki
Little sparkle to it. But I don't need it. I get it. Trust me. I'd rather spend it on getting fresh flowers every week. Honestly.
Bri
Honestly.
Nikki
Sunflowers and beautiful like orange roses or yellow. Like just different things like that. I. I'm. That's where I'm like, no, I'd rather just go to the farmer's market or Trader Joe's actually always has a great selection of flowers and they're not as expensive as like Whole Foods or some of the others. And I. They're always so fresh and amazing. I gotta say, Trader Joe's kills it with nature. But I'd rather have fresh flowers because I have three vases and three spots in my house that I always like to put my fresh flowers in. And it just makes me feel good. Yeah, I'm the same. But when we're talking about mindfulness and one thing that's become what I've noticed more on trend and popular especially to talk about and when we're talking about glow ups is financial, like they're calling it like financial glow ups, which I think is really cool that people are like, no, no, no. Actually the real glow up is how you save your money is that you have a good credit score is all the different ways that you can do to save it in the bank, which I love because I felt like for years it was all about spending being a different outfit for every post on social media.
Bri
Oh my gosh. We got to get over that.
Nikki
We got to get over that real quick.
Bri
Everyone, please get over that.
Nikki
And I feel like it's starting to change. And I think I do too.
Bri
I seen that more like effort.
Nikki
Well.
Bri
And what I feel like shouldn't feel the pressure. No one cares if they see.
Nikki
No one. Literally no one will even remember your outfit. You guys probably don't even remember what I wore in Raw two weeks ago. I just don't remember things. I agree. And I've become smarter where, yeah, I have a stylist. Because in my profession, a stylist is a write off where clothes If I wear it twice are not. So I'm even getting in my glow up financial era of like, how can I save? So what's a write off? What's not a write off? I don't need these clothes again. I don't need to have a bunch of stuff in my closet. And what I have found is there's a lot of trends now that you can actually make. Let's just say for someone who cares about social media, it's actually becoming cute in doing different things on your social media of how you save money. And by the way, Your series on YouTube is a perfect example of that.
Bri
Yeah.
Nikki
Me talking about the real, real, like, that's actually become real cute. Like, I sold this and look at what I got. And my savings are insane. And I've been in more than badass. Right. And I've been in more conversations at work and with others of where everyone's like, going into that now.
Bri
Yeah.
Nikki
Like, everyone's all about, no, yeah, I got this and I got this used. But look how brand new it looks. It's almost becoming cool. Which I love.
Bri
Right? And I do. I feel like people are recognizing that fast fashion isn't the way to go. It's not only is it bad for our planet, but it's bad. Badly made clothes. It's not. It's almost a waste of money. But I feel like people are becoming very mindful with all of that. I mean, hey, I sold a bunch of stuff on the realreal that things I've had for years. Years, years. And I'm like, I really don't wear it anymore. And I didn't want to buy more clothes because I don't need to, but I bought a diamond bracelet with all the stuff I sold. Look how cute this is.
Nikki
It's so cute. Your love.
Bri
One love. And like, I. And I waited for like a clearance day because Nicole told me about their clearance days. Like, you gotta wait because like, all.
Nikki
Of a sudden, the real 70 off of top designers gorgeous things.
Bri
I think that was 50 or 60 off. It was still a little expensive. Not like, you know, oh my gosh. But I used my credit and then. And I was just like, oh, my God. It just. It felt special. I got it in the mail and I'm like, wow, for, you know, selling all this stuff. And then you get. I got a diamond bracelet. Like, come on. Like, I couldn't believe it.
Nikki
I agree with you.
Bri
And let's be honest, at the end of the day, how good does it feel when you walk into your closet. And you could see, See everything. It's not overly cluttered. I love it. It's more simple, crisp, that it's a better feeling. You literally feel better in life. It's proven. It's a proven fact.
Nikki
Right? Feng shui. Right? Feng shui.
Bri
Yeah. And then who's the lady who has the book that I read that I can't remember? And then she had a Netflix.
Nikki
She's a series. Yeah. I can't remember her name. But it's, it's on point. It's proven. When there's declutter, like, your mind, you just work better. You do things better, your soul's better. And plus, what I've realized is I actually put cuter outfits together.
Bri
Yeah.
Nikki
When there's less in my closet, when there's too much, I, I feel like I'm just gonna put on the same sweatpants and tank top because I'm overwhelmed.
Bri
Right.
Nikki
And I don't want to deal with. But I love Tubri because what I've realized is people are realizing, like, oh, wow, it's cool. I'm learning how to invest. Like, wait, how can I invest my money? Okay, so I'm just gonna only have a few streaming platforms instead of all of them, and I'm not gonna go out every night of the week, maybe save it for one night. And now I'm gonna have this extra money, and now how can I invest it and watch it grow? And so I think it's amazing. And I think what, you know, even for our listeners, is really look into those, whether they're apps, they're financial adv on, like, where you can start to invest your money, where you could watch it grow. I mean, for some of us who, you know, are in the stock market right now, like, our money's growing now. Sometimes we have dips, but, like, sometimes it's up. Now I use a financial advisor because I need the help. When I look at those things, sometimes it gives me a headache. And I'm like, I want my money to grow. And if I have to give a little percentage to someone who understands it, great. Because I'm still making money no matter what.
Bri
Right. Well, and I'll be honest.
Nikki
I'm someone who doesn't understand that stuff.
Bri
I, I, my brain doesn't work that way. I can't. When I look at numbers, when I look at the stock market and I even I'm. And other investments like that I've made, I look at it all and I'm like, I don't know, like, it's confusing. You have to really sit down and, like, take your time and understand and sit with someone who is an expert in it so they can explain it to you. Like, I think of, you know, our people who help us. Like, the times they've sat down with me to really explain and all that. I'm like, oh, wow, now I understand. Yeah, My brain just does not work in finance.
Nikki
No, I mean, I tried that in. And you know what's crazy about it is I was amazing at math, but when I got into college and how to do economy and, like, really learn those things, I. It was way over my head. I mean, you saw, I had a tutorial. My teacher couldn't stand me, and I was trying really hard. And what's sad is he couldn't stand me because I tried really hard, and I still didn't get it.
Bri
Yeah.
Nikki
I was like, I don't understand this. This is just not clicking for me. Like, it's just my brain doesn't want to understand this.
Bri
Right.
Nikki
But we're fortunate because the people that do, they. That's how they make money in this world. They help people like us.
Bri
Right.
Nikki
Right. We don't understand at all.
Bri
And also, I think important thing is living under your means. I've always lived under my means. And I mean, you think Brian and I.
Nikki
And I feel like it's cool now for a while. Like, everyone was like, you got to live above it. But I'm loving, like, where we're heading is it's not about that anymore. No one cares what car you drive. No one is caring about all the designer stuff and the people that do. Do you want to be around those people? Do you want those people to really care about you?
Bri
I mean, Brian and I shared a Honda fit that wasn't fully loaded. We didn't even have automatic. Automatic lock.
Nikki
I remember that.
Bri
And we shared it. Until I got pregnant with Birdie. No, we. Yeah, until I got pregnant with Birdie. We shared it, and then we realized that we couldn't have be bopping a baby in there. So then that's when we finally got a second car. But, I mean, we never cared. And I remember someone made a comment to us one time when we pulled up to the Henry and Scott store. They're like, oh, I thought that was like a joke on Total Divas. You guys really drive this car. And I just remember being like, what? But Brian and I were on television on the E. Network, and we still didn't care. I'm like, I like this car.
Nikki
No, you guys have Been always great about that. Don't get me wrong, I love fancy things. I love fancy things when they make sense in my life. And I don't mind if fancy things are used, but I love there. And it's not because it says Bentley or Gucci or that I love when things are well made. And I will look at something and it just might happen to be a Chanel, but I'm like, that's gorgeous. I love that.
Bri
And they are well made.
Nikki
They're very well made. I'm very obsessed with well made things. But so when I was watching. I want to say was when I was watching Netflix last night.
Bri
Yeah.
Nikki
Because they have commercials, but there was a commercial for. It's called Rocket Money app. And I'm gonna download it because I was watching the commercial and I got like hooked because it was a live. A woman walks up to another woman and goes, how many subscriptions do you have? And she goes, I have two.
Bri
Oh, I saw this commercial.
Nikki
Okay. And she goes, okay, can I download this app? She goes, actually, you're subscribed to like 22. And she goes, wait, what are you talking about? She didn't realize all these that she accidentally subscribed to. And then this app will calculate the money they can cancel it for you and calculate the money you could save monthly or yearly. And I was like, and they could also help you manage your subscriptions. Now, I don't know if this app costs money. It might, but I was like, I need to download that because sometimes all of a sudden I'll see a charge and I'm like, like I was being charged for the book app forever. And I'm like, I've never even read an online.
Bri
What book? Apparently.
Nikki
What's the one through? I think Amazon. Amazon Prime.
Bri
No, I gotta look. Yeah, no, I.
Nikki
By the way, that was 14.99amonth. I realized I was subscribed to that for a very long time. And I happened to catch it when it popped up, but there's like a few. And so Rocket Money app. I'm downloading that because I'm like, okay, yes. Yeah, I cancel me because I don't know where I'm subscribed to.
Bri
I feel bad.
Nikki
I want to. I actually want to know how much I'll save a year because it calculates it for you. I want to know what I've been spending a year on apps.
Bri
I actually would like to do that one too, but I'm pretty good at like looking. But I've wasted more money on fitness apps that I always think I'm going to use or the challenge, and I never do.
Nikki
Yeah, but, Bri, do you do the fitness? Okay, I am guilty of this. When I can't sleep at, like, 3am and then I go on, and then. Why is it that I'm thinking about, like, fitness or, like, how to fix under eye bags or, like, what's the best skin care routine? It's always geared towards that. And I've downloaded more stuff off an Instagram ad, and then I never go back and look at it, and I'm like, why did I do that now? Where did I purchase it? How do I cancel it? Like, Was that through PayPal? I don't even know. Yeah. I'm so guilty of that. I've done that, like, four times. Like, oh, my gosh, this wall Pilates will, like, change my.
Bri
I did wall Pilates.
Nikki
I. Oh, my gosh. I haven't even used it.
Bri
I was like.
Nikki
I'm just like.
Bri
I saw it on Pinterest. The girl's, like, legs are up on the wall, and she's, like, thrusting. Yeah. Like, showing how she got a great butt. Like, 40 days or something weird. And I'm like, oh, easy. 40 days, right? That's what I used it. Two days and never again. I actually still need to cancel that one. I'm happy.
Nikki
Yes. Okay, I'm gonna write that down. That's why we need to do Rocket. Yeah, Rocket. Money app. Well, there's one I'm on about. Like. I mean, this is so silly, but, like, in the night, I, like, downloaded one about, like, reading men. Like, how you can.
Bri
Oh, really?
Nikki
Like, red flags. Or how you can, like, re. Like, read a man. Pretty much interesting off of meeting them. Yeah. And I download it. Have I ever read it? Have I ever even looked at it? No. And then I'm, like, in the night, what was I feeling that I felt the need, like, that popped up, and I was like, ooh, I'd love this. Like, I want to know how to read them. Like, no, girl, just trust your intuition. Geez, you don't need an app.
Bri
I know.
Nikki
We all lived before.
Bri
I mean, it was incredible. Just when we were all chatting with, you know, our aunt and uncle and, like, you know, like, they used to get excited to be with their friends before they were going camping. They'd sit down and have the map out and, like, trace their trail and see their pit stop stops and, like, you know what I mean? I can't, like, oh, could you imagine if I, like us nowadays, opening up a map and knowing, like, that's how we're going to get from A to B.
Nikki
No, like a little bit. I. We know that feeling because. Yeah, but, but I, I agree. That would be crazy. And I mean, if you think about it, people would really love that aesthetic for their Instagram.
Bri
I mean, they probably take a fake picture of them, like.
Nikki
Yeah, honestly, like looking at a map. Well, you know, there was a video that went viral this week of a teacher, because I can't. I wish I saw what state, but there's a state in the United States of America that just passed a law, no cell phones at school.
Bri
Love that.
Nikki
Which is shocking that we don't have that.
Bri
That's every state at my kids school. You can't bring a phone.
Nikki
So the teacher said it was the first time in eight years that his students took notes. And that after they took notes and they discussed what was the discussion? He goes, they started talking to each other. He goes, I haven't seen my students talk to each other looking each other in the eye or laughing. And the teacher was getting really emotional. He goes, in eight years. And he goes. And not like everyone was enjoying each other. And he goes, it has just showed me what cell phones have done to our youth. And so I'm hoping because this video has gone viral that this will make other states ban phones from school. Which by the way, the teacher goes, it was just this easy. All we had to do was do a state law to not have phones. And our kids are actually taking notes. They're interacting with each other. They don't go straight to look down on like what everyone else is doing in the world.
Bri
Oh my gosh.
Nikki
And so that just, it made me think of what you said about looking at maps. And so I hope that's something that truly does pass, Which I could see that, yeah, starting to pass. And it's only for the.
Bri
The better children. Doesn't mean they're taking your phones away.
Nikki
Those kids started like talking to each other and laughing. They probably felt better about themselves. Like, whoa. I actually like, a lot of that will force all of us not to have our phones. So no one feels left out or they're not cool or they'll get bullied. No, no one can have them in there. But you know, Bri, when we were diving a little bit into what men think, and I was also sitting like looking at the dating trends of 2025, and it's crazy because I guess we are coming into the era of slow dating, which I know, which means according to apps that you like, if I was to start talking to someone right now, I will still be in that talking stage by Christmas. Oh, like slow dating's in which I'm like, wait, wait. This might be a good era for me to be slow single in. This is what I like for sure. Not gonna push me to commit or have sex or whatever else that we could just start to chat and work our way into. Like, is this worth it? Do we move forward? Like, do you know what I mean?
Bri
For sure.
Nikki
And I love that this is now becoming a thing for people and that green flags are finally trending. Like, people, instead of always talking about the red flags or this or, like, I still into it. People are more like, no, let's talk about the green and how sexy that is.
Bri
I mean, I feel like that's how I became Brian's girlfriend is I looked at all the green flags, and I realized, like, you know, it was hard for me to commit to Brian in the beginning, to fully commit. I mean, he literally had to break up with me for me to, like, realize all the green flags. And I was like, I can't lose this guy because. And it was literally because of all the great things he is, like, all the right. And so I love that. I love that.
Nikki
Love that. And it's. People are over. Like, I'm not gonna anymore accept the bare minimum from you in this relationship. I'm actually gonna slowly date you to see the expectations I do want. Are you gonna open up my doors? Are you gonna be open and vulnerable with me? Are you gonna communicate all I. I think it's beautiful, and I think this is how it should be. It's almost like how courting was.
Bri
I was just gonna say, you're gonna be courted, and if you need a chef throne, I'll be the chaperone.
Nikki
You know, I'm always down for that. I'll walk for sure.
Bri
I'll walk five feet behind you guys.
Nikki
Yes.
Bri
But be listening like this, you know.
Nikki
But this would kind of what we should do is they should make. Well, they shouldn't make specific gardens, but maybe. But maybe we have, like, designated gorgeous gardens, just like back in the day of. For courting. So then that's where people could go and they could walk like that. Do you know what I mean? So then we know that this garden or park is a specific part park for courting. And you go there knowing, like, you're gonna just walk and talk, nothing else. No drinking, no eating, no people involved. Unless you have a chaperone 10ft behind you. Like you said. But it's strictly for walking and talking.
Bri
Yeah, I love it.
Nikki
No cell phones, no distractions. It's courting. That would be actually really cool. I think people would be really into that.
Bri
I do, too. Let's take it back.
Nikki
Let's take it back. And they were saying that people, more than ever in these dating apps are just putting all out there in their bio. Like, I'm going to let you know everything I want and exactly who I am. And if you don't want to stay, then.
Bri
Actually, last night, you know, Buddy freaked me out.
Nikki
Oh, really?
Bri
Yeah. He came in, like, clinking and clunking, and I. Brian, actually, we were dying laughing this morning.
Nikki
I go, who is it?
Bri
Who is that? And he goes. And Brian goes. I don't. I go, brian. He growls. He like. Brian's like. I don't know if he did. I swear he did. He went like. And I was like, oh, my. Who? Because I was in such a deep. And it's Buddy.
Nikki
It's like a demon.
Bri
Brian couldn't stop laughing this morning because he's like, bri. Because it scared me. Because you're like, that's the worst.
Nikki
Someone gets scared and then you feel their scaredness. Yeah.
Bri
Yeah. I kind of thought it was a ghost or something.
Nikki
It still hurts to laugh.
Bri
We were, like, crying this morning.
Nikki
Oh, my God.
Bri
She was like, you were so scared. And I told him I kind of had, like, you know, eye boogies. So, like, my eyes kind of open because I think, like, just still with the sinus stuff.
Nikki
Oh, yeah.
Bri
So I think I was like, who is it? Like, could barely see.
Nikki
Yeah.
Bri
Because Buddy had his water. He was clinking and clunk, like, hitting, like, he must have been, like, I don't know, sleepwalking or something weird. But, yeah, freaked me out.
Nikki
Right when he first woke up, he goes, I'm gonna fly. And, like, went on this whole thing about learning how to fly and, like, where he would go. So I showed him Peter Pan, but then I realized it made him think he could fly. And then I go, well, no, no, no, this is fake. This is a cartoon. Because I showed the original, but then I also showed the movie, and then I realized there's just some creepy parts about it. But. But that's. He reminds me of that.
Bri
Like, all Disney movies.
Nikki
Yeah, a little dark, but that's hilarious, honestly. But in the middle of the night, he just said, mommy. Like, mommy. And I was like, but he just wanted to cuddle and see where I'm at. But that's hilarious. Who is it? Yeah, I can't even remember where we're at. Brie, on the dating.
Bri
But you know what? It'll be interesting to see, like, going forward if, like, more of this, like, slow dating is, like, going to stick. I hope it does. I. I'll be honest, and I'm not.
Nikki
I feel like we're going in a great direction with life.
Bri
I do, too, I think. And maybe I'm old and, like, I say this as an old lady, but the whole, like, people for a while, just the. You know, and I don't care if people disagree with me. You can. But the whole just meeting up to have sex, like those apps, like, just like, I'm like, you need a little more in life that has to get a little empty and also make people. And listen to this. If people want it and that's what they want to do, go for it. I don't give a Right. But also, like, at some point, you do want to be, as we say, courted. Like, you want someone to. To look at, like, you in an emotional way than just physically, like, you want that.
Nikki
I agree.
Bri
There's a great feeling to that.
Nikki
They're an incredible feeling, not only for yourself sexually, but also the inside part. Like, you feel full, and you feel. When you can get to that point, and then you're finally intimate where you have built a relationship. See, that's the thing about the iPad. See, the iPad was babysitting right now, but they turn into little evil monsters.
Bri
Did you. Did you. When I showed you that meme, and it says, when you take your iPad away from the kid and it's the Chucky doll, and he's, like, going. It's like the scene where he's like, on the adult.
Nikki
Yeah. The one thing I will say about Teo, he gets sick of it after a bit. Like, he hadn't even done a full hour. He gets over it, but then he gets grumpy.
Bri
Yeah, well, my kids can't have him unless we travel. But I swear, they always want to travel because I swear it's for their.
Nikki
I didn't have a sitter for this, so. Well, it just helps.
Bri
Yeah. Did you see buddy Twice? Because Brian's on a call. He's, like, smiling at me, and I'm like, go, go. But I bought them a bunch of shrinkets, like, Snoopy little trinkets. So they're doing them.
Nikki
I love that.
Bri
Yeah.
Nikki
Well, Bri, before you hit us with some inspiration affirmation, I'm really excited about all of us following along together. So let's all, you know, let's get our notebooks out this week, everyone. We're gonna start to plan our fall bucket list of what makes us have fun.
Bri
Yep.
Nikki
Stay on a budget, live our best life ever. Make us our main character of our three month story for that season. So who do you want to be this month? Like three months? Like, how easy is that? Right? No pressure on it. So let's plan that. Also, I want to keep, like, helping people as we slowly go into the holidays. I know we're so far out, but like helping people more with their finances and reminding people of that we don't have to keep up. Like, how cute is it to save? And the different things we could do.
Bri
So let's all make sure creative. Let's all help and getting. And that's why you, Nikki, and our hotline send us fun ideas. And yes, you know, I have to tell you something I've been doing with Buddy because his reading's doing good and I want it to do even better. I. I'll get you guys the car. I think it's Koto. I got this scavenger Hut card game, and so I hide the cards and it's like, look under the mat. Look next to the refrigerator. But I put out about 10 cards throughout the house. And Buddy's obsessed with those Annie's like, gummy bear things, little gummies. So I don't keep him in the house. I hide them. But he always gets that surprise at the end of the scavenger hunt. But it's so cute to see him, like, have to read the card. It's really helped with his reading and. But those are like, you gotta get creative, have fun. It just, it takes effort. But it's so fun, like when you put in the effort and then the kids love it, you know?
Nikki
Oh, I completely agree. I love, love that idea.
Bri
Well, Tay Tay wants his mama, which I don't blame you, Tay. You've been good.
Nikki
Yes.
Bri
We've been talking for a while, but auntie's gonna hit us all with a little inspiration, affirmation. You know me, I love my stuff off Pinterest. This one's anonymous, but I felt like it really goes with the theme of bucket list. And this is kind of a fun quote that will kind of trigger everything and get your the juices flowing. So here it goes. Fill the notebook, wear the outfit, buy the flowers, send the card, use the china, book the trip, take the selfies, hang the art, say the words, and light the good candles.
Nikki
Oh, I love that, Bri? Because I feel like that just ties in and wraps up our episode so perfectly. All those things is what you can do with the seasonal bucket list. All those things. We can be have our own hot girl budgets and have our glow up finances of, like, we could still book the trip, but how are we going to book it in a way that we save, like, let's take the extra time to find that. And then honestly, on the slow dating, it's like, you know, just put yourself.
Bri
First in your needs, you know?
Nikki
Yes, exactly. I'm like, thinking of, like, blow up your dating light. Take the selfies and hang the art and say the words. Say the words in that slow dating.
Bri
I have heard more women, more women and men be so unsatisfied with dating life the last couple years. I swear, everyone tells me they hate dating. They hate dating. Well, that means you need to glow up with your dating life and maybe try this slow dating. Maybe that's what it needs to be. The world's moving too fast. Let's slow it down.
Nikki
Yes. Couldn't agree more.
Bri
All right, here's to a beautiful weekend, and then we'll catch up with you guys on Monday. You can catch these episodes on our YouTube channel, and you can catch us on Stars 109.
Nikki
That's right. All right, see you, Brie.
