She's back. She was with us when she was in London and now she's with us here in Las Vegas.

Well, you know what? This is a very, very special episode because it is well meaning. We're here in Las Vegas at the Sirius XM studio, here at the wim. First time ever the Nikki and Brie Show. So one that is incredible. We didn't do it with our mom. We are celebrating my mom's 60th birthday, as you all know. Again, it was in September, but we gotta redo it because I need to be a part of it. We're doing our 41st birthday. There's a lot of things to celebrate right now in Vegas. Nfr, George Strait. So many things, but we. Mom, you're breaking in the studio with us. Like, how exciting is that?

Oh, my. It is so exciting. I really so happy to be part of this.

I think it's so exciting that we need to start off with a right.

I mean, when you're in Vegas, right?

Went in Vegas, honestly. So I feel like before we get into all the amazing things of Las Vegas and what we're going to do and what we've already done, we got to talk about Brawley. That is Drummer boy.

[Brie Bella]

Drummer boy dinner. So you all know here on the podcast, Nikki and I have always said our favorite tradition, not only during the holidays, but I feel like in our families, the drummer boy dinner, we talk about it every year and we were able to just experience it last night.

[Mama Bella]

And so right since the first time in Raleigh, California, since 2019, which is crazy because then the pandemic hit and just so much change.

[Brie Bella]

And B town, baby.

[Mama Bella]

B town. We never missed a beat in B town. And then all of a sudden we missed five years, six years, however long. So it was the first time that our whole Italian side that we've always talked about, we all came back together to do Drummer boy again in Raleigh with Nana. Nana, Texas. And it was just so incredibly special. It's just when you're there, you're like, this is what family traditions are all about. Why you keep them alive every year, why you try to do whatever you can to get the family together. Because there's nothing better than that feeling, than just all being together and being like, wow, right? We have sugar cookies and a taco card, but because we have each other, it just feels like the best night ever. Right?

[Brie Bella]

Right. Well, I think for anyone in life, whatever makes you feel like your childhood or those special memories, just, like, throughout life, it's the smells. It's like the different visualizing scene. I mean, all of our families, we have 20 nativity sets all throughout the house. Not everyone does that usually. So it's one.

[Mama Bella]

Right.

[Brie Bella]

But, like, for me, it's the smells. It's the visual part. It takes me right to the.

[Mama Bella]

To childhood.

[Brie Bella]

Young.

[Mama Bella]

And I. I have two questions for each of you, but before that, it was crazy, because where I'm at in my life right now, and I told Bri, I was actually. We were really sad the kids weren't coming. And then when she and I flew into Palm Springs and we were driving through the desert, I. I go to her and I go, you know, Bri, I actually feel like my soul kind of needed this. With just you and mom's coming in and all the family's going to be there, I needed to kind of get the feel of the best, like, child childhood memories I had. I just need that for my soul right now. I kind of need this adventure. And when we pulled into Brawley, I made her to go to all these spots and take photos, and I'm like, I just need to see everything before I get distracted. But I need to feel what I loved so much, and my soul needs that. And so I was really blessed to have that. And I feel like when you're going through something, like, go back to your roots or go to places where you had the best childhood memories and, like, live in that and feel it. Because, like you said, smell, sight, whatever it is, it brings those memories alive. And it's crazy. Like, your heart and your soul sends, like, it's just like, oh, I'm getting filled with happiness and warmth and love, and I needed this. So my question for both of you is, what is your favorite thing about drummer boy of all time? And then what was your favorite thing this past weekend?

[Brie Bella]

Mom, you start.

[Nikki Bella]

Okay, well, I have to go back to, like, the childhood memories and that you all, you know, were raised. First of all, you two and JJ lived there for a couple of years, but every. Every year, going back right when we didn't live there. And so those memories are great. But JJ called me and he's told me that when he was driving in approaching Brawley, that Vivian was like, what is that smell? And that smell is manure. Right? But we get it.

[Mama Bella]

We love it.

[Nikki Bella]

That smell means we are home. It's drummer boy weekend, and it's time to go. And the other thing is, we had planned this weekend in Vegas before we confirmed drummer boy. And then all of a sudden, Nana is going to make drummer boy, and there is no way in heck we weren't going to figure it out.

[Mama Bella]

Right?

[Nikki Bella]

And so we did some travel arrangements. And anyone that knows my daughters, they travel all the time. And it changes at a drop of a hat. I don't. I'm a little recluse. So when they're like, mom, we're going to get on this plane and we're going to go to Brawley, and then we're going to get on a plane in Palm Springs and we're going to end up in Vegas, I was like, there's no way. Guess what? Now we're sitting in Vegas, having a cocktail, enjoying each other, honestly. But to kick off such a beautiful weekend, it was all about our family. It was drummer boy for me. It was my mom, it was my siblings, my in laws, my children, my nieces and my nephews, and all of your children. And it does not get more special than that.

[Brie Bella]

It really doesn't.

[Mama Bella]

Amen.

And that's, I think, what I loved about this weekend is that seeing what we all loved about the drummer boy tradition, what Nana and Pop up started, it was so great to see what we call the greats, which are the great grandchildren. So Nana's there, her kids are there, her grandchildren are there, and 19 great grandchildren. Actually, Mateo, Buddy and Birdie weren't there, so minus that. What's that everyone? 16. So 16 grades.

[Mama Bella]

Great. She could count after some sincere.

[Brie Bella]

I know that's like big. But honestly, I just remember looking around and I kept telling Nicole, I'm like, take a video. Take a video. Cause you could see all the greats playing. You see all of us grandchildren making little jokes and having fun. And then I could see you, Uncle Bill and Aunt Tony having your little fun, acting like kids. And it was like, this is what the drummer boy tradition's done for all of us. It's kept family close. It's Kept us all, like, understanding the magic of the holidays, you know, keeping the Lord's spirit and just having fun. Like, you know, so many times it's like family. No matter what, at the end of the day, you'll lose friends as you grow up. That's one thing I know at 41, my friend group has gotten smaller, and that's okay. I love it. But the one thing I feel like in life, you always can trust your family. And a lot of people say, well, no, not me. Like, I don't talk to, like, this person anymore. That I get it. And one day you'll mend it.

[Mama Bella]

Yeah.

[Brie Bella]

But it's the love, like, family gives you.

[Mama Bella]

Yeah.

[Brie Bella]

And that is what drummer boy has given me. What about you, Nicole?

[Mama Bella]

So I'm a lot like Mom. What was so special for me was to see Nana. Like, our family's so fortunate because when you look at our family tree, the only person that we have lost is our grandfather, who was the oldest. And it is the circle of life. And how Uncle Tom and Uncle Tom. I'm sorry, but if you go in order of ages, right, we, the two that we have lost, have been the two oldest. And so I looked around last night and I just said, like, a little prayer to myself, like, I was so grateful to God, like, wow, thank you. Like, right now I'm here with everyone except Bre, you know, minus our kids, but we have everyone here and how blessed are we? And everyone was just laughing and talking, and it just made me realize too, like, as a family, even though when we live in all these different states or far away, you have to make effort to come see each other, because there's just nothing more special than family.

[Brie Bella]

I agree.

[Mama Bella]

When you look at Nana, who's sitting there at 92, and then you look at our youngest, who, has she even a year old yet? No, we had a newborn. We had a three month old, four months. And so when you look at that, I was like, life is just so beautiful and I feel so fortunate. And so that was definitely my favorite part. And just going back to roots, Bri, you and I sitting, you know, at our old school at Sacred Heart and being on the stairs. And I told her, like, the video on my Instagram, when I'm walking down that hallway, mom, it's so crazy because I remembered so specifically of my first Holy communion and getting ready in that room and Nana and Pop up and walking down there and singing the song. It is crazy. Every time I walk down that hallway, I imagine myself coming out of those two Doors in my white dress and my veil. Exactly how you and Nana and pop up were all in that room walking then into the church. I remember it perfectly.

Yeah.

[Mama Bella]

Every time. So I just loved that.

[Brie Bella]

I know.

[Nikki Bella]

What's also important to tell the listeners is drummer boy tradition started with my mom and dad only wanting their grandchildren for a dinner a couple weeks before Christmas. So as their children, me and my siblings, we were not invited. But we knocked on the door enough and eventually we were part of the evening.

[Brie Bella]

Had to be.

[Nikki Bella]

And then as the family continued to grow, it was everyone. So it's. It's an amazing tradition. We all have traditions. In fact, what I encourage the listeners to do is make comments on your family traditions. We would love to hear.

And you know, there's always that one person at the family party who gets into brie mode and it wasn't Bri. Who was it?

Nicole do you remember this memory? It was when Bri and Brian got engaged and so we were in Northern Cal and we were at the Hyatt and we booked an appointment at the salon for our hair and he never had me looking at the mirror and he was just like going at it, right? And I'm like, there is no way that my hair doesn't look awesome. There is just no way how he was working my hair. I turned around, I started laughing, crying.

She laughed, cried. Then I laughed, cried.

You laughed? Cried.

Yeah.

So. Oh it.

And what was it like, Mom? Was it just gigantic? I can't remember.

Might have resembled what I'm wearing today. But no, because yeah, you look cute.

I was so excited about that hairstyle because he would. It was like the unveiling of my hair and this was before blow dry bars were around and he turned me around and the look on Nicole's face.

[Mama Bella]

Oh, and then.

And then the look on my face and then he got upset because we couldn't Stop laughing.

[Mama Bella]

We couldn't. Mom wouldn't stop laughing. Then I couldn't. And then he. So he knew we were crying, laughing at his hairdo.

Oh, my gosh.

So then he got upset. But I. It just was bad.

See, that's what's bad about all of us, is that we're people pleasers. But then we, like, laugh so hard, which is almost more insane.

Well, it's like we try to hold it in, and then we can't hold it in, and then we just lose it. And then when there's two of us, it's like we can't, but.

[Nikki Bella]

And I think we were filming that day, right?

[Mama Bella]

Yeah.

And it's kind of like, you know, I was new to filming, and I thought, oh, no. Like, they'll never ask me back after this hairstyle.

Because I feel like a lot of women will. Will relate to me in this. But it's like when you're newly single, officially or unofficially, however that works. And, like, here in Vegas. And I love it because I'll have, like, my mom and Brie and my friends have done this, and I hear other people do this, and they'll be like, oh, see, like, look over there. You know, maybe. Or, oh, over there. And it's like. It's so funny, right? Because it's like now whenever you're single, anywhere you go, it's like you sit down and go, oh, see that one over there?

Yeah.

Like, he looks, you know, nice and sweet. Or, oh, over there, Right.

So you're saying what I did at lunch today, don't include me, Mom. And so what I did at lunch today, which I did, I said kind of to your left.

Go left to right as if, like, I'm looking to walk down the aisle.

I now do that with Birdie, and we have so much fun. So it's kind of like, okay, we're in this restaurant.

I mean, we are at the nfr. But the best story is, so Brie and I are doing power walks in Brawley, of course, and this woman comes out, and she's in the cutest country outfit. And then she goes, oh, my gosh, girls, I'm good friends with your mom. And we're like, oh, my gosh. She's like, I'm on my. Oh, my gosh.

What? Oh, there goes the guy from the restaurant.

That's the guy. I said like, no, guy to the left.

And the white shirt. Look at the white shirt. Yes, that's him.

So we weren't really involved. But all of a sudden we see, like, there's like Snoop Dogg, there's. Gosh, what's the comedian's name?

But there was like all these people coming and partying.

And just like twins.
