We have a very special guest today. So not is she a sister to Brie and I, but she is one of the top WWE superstars. She is a former total diva, one of the OGs. She has won so many championships. She has literally done so much in the women's division. You all know her. You know her whether it's inside the ring or outside the ring. And now on her resume, she gets to put that she is an author and she's about to become a New York Times bestselling author. I guarantee that. So everyone please welcome to the show Natty Night Heart. When I found out I was going to do this, I was like, this is the highlight, like, of my week because I love seeing you guys and it's just like, we never miss a beat.

Oh, my gosh. Thank you for coming. When Nikki and I were like, okay, we're going to podcast out of the serious studios at the Wynn Hotel during WrestleMania week. We're like, we need Natty.

[Nikki Bella]

Yes.

We want to make sure Natty can do this. I mean, one, we want to talk about your book, but also it's because close friendship that we've had. I mean, our bond over. I mean Goodness.

[Nikki Bella]

It's been almost 20 years and we.

[Natalya Neidhart]

We'Ve just always been so close. From the very first time we started.

[Nikki Bella]

Yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

In wwe together, in developmental, we, we were just, we've just. Since day one, we've always had this rapport relationship. It's like, it's, it's always. To me, it's never lost on me how special that is because I agree, you know, those, everything we do is about relationships. That's. To me, what's the most important part of my career in. Are those very special bonds that I have.

[Nikki Bella]

Yeah, no, I agree. It's, it's weird because, you know, we've had Nye on the show, we had Naomi on the show, now we have you. And it's like you said, we always pick up from where we left off. But it's more than friendship here. It's such a sisterhood. We've seen the world together. We've gone through so much together.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Yes.

[Nikki Bella]

And especially being in a male dominated industry, us women, we've fought for a lot and we've all been there in so many different eras. And it just. I've learned this recently in reality tv. You get trauma bonded with people.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Yes.

[Nikki Bella]

It's like, you know, for sure, that's kind of. We also have that drama.

[Brie Bella]

Bonded is perfect.

[Natalya Neidhart]

We just, we've had the best times together, but also like, we've been there for each other through, you know, some really hard times. And so I think, like, it's just the real stuff. Yeah. Like, it's just really great moments, you know, like WrestleManias and, you know, like our first match together. I mean, I was in your first, both of your first matches and you know, we've just done so much together from like, you know, when you start in developmental and wwe and I've talked about this before, but you start at the base and you're making so, so little, but then you just realize how much you love it.

[Nikki Bella]

Yes.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And like, I realized so much, like, especially when I was writing my book, I was like, I might not have gotten to be in wwe. Like, I might not have even gotten called up had you guys not worked with me on some of the things that I didn't know how to do. You know what I mean? So it's like, you really, you know, when I look back on our relationship, like, you guys helped me in such a great way that wasn't like competitive or you didn't want to see me get ahead. You guys were the friends that were like cheering me on from the sidelines. Even though like, we were still competition, right?

[Nikki Bella]

No, it's true. And you helped Bri and I in the other way with wrestling. I mean, you and tj, all those shoot hold practices.

[Brie Bella]

I mean, I will still never forget those. And I'll never forget when I want to. Tj, you didn't want to tap. And Kofi's like, please tap out, Nikki.

[Nikki Bella]

Please just tap out. I, like, did not. I was like, well, you have two stubborn people in there.

[Natalya Neidhart]

So stubborn. So stubborn. You know what I've realized about tj? He's extremely, like, Nicole, he's extremely competitive.

[Nikki Bella]

Oh, yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Like, he's. He does even when we play, like, board games and stuff. Like, I want to cheat.

[Brie Bella]

Yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

I want to cheat in the game. I'm gonna win. I'm like, dj, I'm your wife. Let me just cheat on in the board game. It's not real. And he's like, no, you have to follow the rules.

[Nikki Bella]

That is, by the way, your recent. One of your recent posts of you guys rolling around in the ring. Like, I could tell, like, when it get a little competitive, like, oh, yeah, okay.

[Natalya Neidhart]

He wouldn't give me anything.

[Nikki Bella]

Yes.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Because.

[Nikki Bella]

And I could see it on your face.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Like, it's just like when you guys were rolling around. But TJ is such a great teacher, and he's such a great. Like, the women in wwe, especially, like, you know, he's just. He's just been able to help so many people because he just, I think, has such a cool perspective, especially working with me and, like, also being an underdog.

[Brie Bella]

Right.

[Natalya Neidhart]

For most of his career in wwe. It's a cool perspective because a lot of the women wwe especially, as, you know, through the years with the women's evolution and as we've gotten more steam and more progress and more momentum, TJ's kind of been on that journey with us where he understands and he knows, like, what every girl's strength is, what their weakness is, what they're good at, what we could, you know, accentuate. Like, he just really knows how to compliment everyone because he's had that reference himself in his own career.

[Nikki Bella]

Totally.

[Brie Bella]

He agree.

[Nikki Bella]

TJ is truly a magical part of the industry.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Yes.

[Nikki Bella]

Like, very rare gem. There's only not. I mean, maybe a few. But, like, he's the magic part.

[Brie Bella]

Like, well, his brains just on. That's what I mean. The move set to the storytelling. It's. Well, that's why you see everyone go to him. I feel like everyone goes to TJ to like, okay, what should I do?

[Natalya Neidhart]

You know, he hires Everyone has a knack for it. And. And he's helped me with all of my big, big matches. I mean, even just with my blood sport match fight that I had yesterday. He. He. I. You know, I was able to pick his brain about certain things because everything I do. And I know you guys are the same. I want. Everything has to, you know, it's. It's about the story.

[Nikki Bella]

Yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And so he's really, you know, because he's a student of the game. He's a fan. He is. You could ask tj, like, hey, what match was Brett in at that? Like, he could tell you about anyone's career from at any point in time. The finish of their match was what city it was in, what arena it was in. Like, he's such a fan, but he also knows that like, sometimes, you know, he can pull from certain things. Be like, this is. This was really cool. And Brett and Mr. Perfect's match from 1992. And I'm like, oh, my God, I remember what I had for breakfast this night, nonetheless, about what Mr. Perfect was doing in 1992.

[Brie Bella]

You know what I mean? But that is so TJ. So TJ, was he there at your match last night?

[Natalya Neidhart]

Yes, he was in a production meeting. They were. They were doing a meeting for. For the weekend for. For the events for WrestleMania. And, and so they had one more meeting, and TJ was like, I, I, I. I've got, like, 20. You know, he. I was on in 20 minutes. He was still in the meeting. He had literally 20 minutes to make it to my. My fight with Mew. And I was so worried that he wasn't gonna come. And right before I walked through the curtain, T.J. was there.

[Nikki Bella]

Oh, my gosh. Where are the cameras for that?

[Natalya Neidhart]

I was just like, I. I gave him the biggest hug. And then, like, as soon as I hugged him, I. My music hit.

[Brie Bella]

Oh, my.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And I was so. Because I was so scared. I had already in my mind, I was like, oh, he'll just watch some footage and it'll be. It'll be fine. It'll be fine. It'll be fine. He doesn't need to be here for it. And then he came, like. And I was so happy he left the meeting.

[Nikki Bella]

Oh, my.

[Natalya Neidhart]

The meeting was still going on. He's like, sorry, guys. I gotta go.

[Brie Bella]

Oh, my God, what a great husband.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Yeah. I was like, I mean, you know, I. It's. It's like, I didn't want it to be unprofessional, but I was like, listen, they're like, if you could just be a little unprofessional for one minute.

[Nikki Bella]

Yeah. So it comes first and so what.

[Brie Bella]

What was his thoughts after your match?

[Natalya Neidhart]

He was so happy. He was so happy. He was just like. Because we had been. I've been training for this match for weeks. I've been going to my ring and working with people and just like I would, I was going like three days a week to the dungeon and just like sparring with people and like wrestling with tj, wrestling with like men to push myself, you know. And as Nikki knows that the dungeon has no air conditioning.

[Nikki Bella]

Yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

So. And we don't really want it to because I really like that environment of a very gritty. It's just, it's just a ring in a room with a bathroom.

[Nikki Bella]

Yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And I don't want it to be fancy and we could have it fancier. I just don't want that. I want it to feel as much like the real dungeon as possible so that the most important things you need to succeed, our heart and, and perseverance, determination, grit. You don't need all the fancy stuff. And, and granted, if you want that and you get to wwe, the performance center is like, it is the most state of the art facility that you, it's, it's unbelievable. It's second to none.

[Nikki Bella]

Yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

PC is second to none, but gorgeous. The dungeon is just so different because it's not, you know, it's not really like school as, as you know, it's more of a workshop for advanced people to kind of tighten up and hone their craft. So it's very, very special. And like I've been preparing so much for bloodsport, but like when you do the work, like I always say, I don't have to get ready because I've been staying ready and I've, I, I felt like yesterday was really that proof that like, you know, don't sleep on me.

[Nikki Bella]

Yeah, exactly. You know, what that is like, needs to be the inspiration affirmation for later. I have not heard that in so long and I don't even know ever. But like, I don't need to get ready. I stay ready.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Right.

[Nikki Bella]

Like, you could take that anywhere in life anyway. That is like that, that hit me hard right there.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Yes. Because it's like, it's when you love something and you enjoy it. First of all, it doesn't feel like work. But it also, you know, I've had to make sure that I prioritize the things that I love along with the regular commitments that I have in my life. But like What I do in the ring and what I do at the dungeon and what I've done in wwe, and, like, my passion for this industry, it sets my heart on fire. Like, I just love it so much. I. I can just get lost in my thoughts about how much I. I love it. And it's something that's made my family, it's our. It's made us tick for so many. You know, from when my grandfather started wrestling in the. In the 30s, he. My grandfather started wrestling. Tootsmont discovered my grandfather, and Tootsmont helped. Basically, he was like the founding father for what helped start wwe. So he's just like one of the very first innovators of what started professional wrestling. But Toots discovered my grandfather. My grandfather, when he was a little boy, he was homeless, and he lived in Saskatchewan, and he slept in a tent. His long story short, his parents, they kind of abandoned him. So he slept in a tent with dogs to keep him warm, used a slingshot to kill rabbits and get his food that way. And the only way that he could stay warm in Saskatchewan, because it's one of the coldest places in Canada, was there was a ymca and he took up amateur wrestling. And wrestling saved my grand grandfather's life. So when I think about the roots of what wrestling means to my family, and I think about, like, it's our heartbeat, you know, and that's what it means to me. So when I get to do it and do it at the biggest level or the. The smallest level, it's just. It makes. It just makes me feel so alive and it.

[Nikki Bella]

It's so neat because how that story starts and then you guys are such wrestling royalty, but then to be the heart foundation and, like, how you speak of how it starts with your family, and it's the heart of it.

[Brie Bella]

Yeah.

[Nikki Bella]

And it's just like everything you gu. I mean, you're the top family to me in wrestling. Always will be. No one will touch the hearts at all. From Stu all the way to you. Like, it's just. It's incredible because of what you guys bring, but you do. You could tell your family brings something different because it's just the heartbeat of it.

[Natalya Neidhart]

It's. And. And our family has just gone through what everybody goes through, highs and lows, you know, and we've had great things happen. Like, Brett is going into the hall of Fame for his third time.

[Nikki Bella]

I love it.

[Natalya Neidhart]

He's a. Brett loves you guys.

[Nikki Bella]

I love Brett.

[Natalya Neidhart]

He absolutely loves you guys. But Brett's going in, you know, he's getting Inducted with Steve Austin for their match at WrestleMania 13. And, like, it's so cool because Brett, it's. It's so nice to see him get celebrated, but, like, our family's had great, you know, amazing highs, and we've, of course, had incredible lows. But at the end of the day, like, it's. It's just about moving forward.

[Nikki Bella]

Yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And learning from. You know, learning from all those things, and you realize, like, kind of lean into those mistakes. If you've made mistakes or hardships, if you have hardships or trauma, if you can kind of lean into it, you. You realize it actually could be a guidebook to help other people in their own life. Like, it can help so many people when they realize, like, oh, that's how Natty got through that or Bri got through that or Nikki got through that. I feel like that's why we really excelled on Total Divas, because we weren't afraid to open up, even if it feels kind of scary at the time. Like, when you open up, people just, like, they're like, wow, I'm going through the same thing.

But I'm so excited. So is everyone gonna be able to hear your story from, I mean, when you were a young girl, having a famous father in the heart foundation all the way till where you're at now?

[Natalya Neidhart]

Well, it's with the book. There was a. I was a little tentative when I like started writing the book. I started like, there's. When you. And as you guys know, because you've written a book, it's. There was a lot of. When I was going through my life, I was like, there's a lot that I'm kind of scared to share. And I'm like, I don't know if I want to go there. I don't want to say this or they're not going to let me say this or WWE is not going to want me to say this or this might offend this person. And then I just was like, know what it. Yeah, write it. Just write it. Just say what you have to say. Excuse my language. I.

[Brie Bella]

No, we don't mind on this.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Show today. But just say what you want to say and then just see what, like, just let it, just put it on the paper and then sort it out after.

[Nikki Bella]

Yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And then I would wake up, I would write something and I'd write and I'd be like, I, that's too much. And then I'd wake up the next day and I'd read it again and I'd be like, oh, you can't put that. And then I'd sleep on it again and I'd be like, leave it, it, leave it, leave it. And so when WWE was looking over my book and they, you know, they, they, they were taking a look at it because I wanted them to make, I wanted to make sure that I was comfortable with it and I wanted to make sure that they were comfortable with it because I want us to all be on the same team.

[Nikki Bella]

Yes.

[Natalya Neidhart]

I want us to all be on the same page that were like, we are a family.

[Nikki Bella]

Yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And they were so supportive of my book.

[Brie Bella]

What a great feeling.

[Natalya Neidhart]

It made me so happy. I was so happy. I was like, they loved it. I love that they weren't, they didn't say, you can't say this or you can't say that. They were just like, they fully embraced it. And it was such a great feeling because it only like reconfirmed that. It's so good to be able to share your story. And this book is. Yes, there are some things I, I was tentative to talk about, but I feel so, I feel such a weight lifted off my shoulders that I'm able to share it. And it's just like, even with like the title of the book, I was thinking, oh, I hope nobody in my family is offended that like I'm thinking that I'm the last heart left. That's like, it's not really like, it's, it's basically, you know what I mean? Yes.

[Nikki Bella]

Right.

[Natalya Neidhart]

I know it's meant like for me because I started internalizing a lot of things and I was like, no, I'm the last one in WWE still wrestling. I was the one that was the least likely to make it as a woman in my family.

[Brie Bella]

Right.

[Natalya Neidhart]

In a male. And especially when I was starting out in wrestling in a very male dominated world, I, you know, 18 years ago when I first got signed by WWE, like, I was the one that wasn't supposed to make it. When you think about Bret Hart and Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid and Jim the Anvil Neidhart and Stuart, I mean there's like multiple hall of famers in there. Like, I felt like, I mean, I would never live up to any of those expectations. I was the last one that was supposed to make it, and I'm the one that's still standing. And I have these great stories to tell and like, my family is very much honored in it. But, like, I also want to share the imperfections you have because it's, it makes it so much more relatable. And so in the book, especially stuff with my dad, I end up, you know, discussing and talking about some really personal things that like it. I was able to unlock a lot of those things after my dad passed away. And it really lifted, like, it took. It helped me kind of sort through trauma from my own childhood because I didn't know, I didn't understand a lot of the things that had happened to me growing up until after my dad passed away. And we were able to kind of investigate it a little further, and it just made everything make sense. But those are really important conversations that we have in the book that, like, it just. I'm just excited I get to share them, even though it's a little scary to kind of talk about some of it because I'm like, oh, I don't want to ruffle feathers. I don't want, you know, it's going to, it's going to open up a lot of conversation, but it's going to be great.

[Nikki Bella]

It's going to be great. And I think it's amazing for your dad too, to have that because it explains so much as well because, you know, Bri and I know the stories and.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Yes.

[Nikki Bella]

So I'm excited for people to read that because I think that fair to your dad too. You know what I mean? And it, it honors him, but it, it, it brings so much grace to.

[Brie Bella]

Him and how hard wrestling was back in the day and what the guys were going through being on the road.

[Nikki Bella]

But I look at, I mean, her dad was an all star football player as well.

[Natalya Neidhart]

My dad started playing football when he was 11 years old. And then when, you know, my dad's actually excelled in three different professional sports. My dad played for the Dallas Cowboys and the Oakland Raiders. When my dad was 18 years old, he was number one shot putter in the United States.

[Nikki Bella]

Yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

So he really is like the first of that, like, next in line program. Like, you know, when they were like, yeah, wwe. They're looking at like, my dad was like the, one of the originals. Right. So when he was 18, he was number one in the nation for shot put. He was number five in the world at shot put. Played for the Cowboys, played for the Raiders, then ended up meeting my grandfather, got into wrestling because somebody said, hey, you got a good look.

[Nikki Bella]

Yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And so, you know, they were like, you should try this wrestling thing. And my dad was like, what is it? You know, and then fell in love with it. My grandfather choked him out, and my dad, like, this old man choked my grand. My dad out. My grandfather Stu, like, basically, like. My dad was like, he. His eyes were bloodshot. He thought he was gonna die.

[Nikki Bella]

Oh, my goodness.

[Natalya Neidhart]

But he had a crush on my mom.

[Nikki Bella]

Yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And he. Because my mom was at the heart house, my dad was like, that. She's so beautiful. So he kept going back down to the dungeon in hopes of seeing my mom. But my grandfather was, like, physically assaulting my father. It's in the book to be a.

[Nikki Bella]

Fly on the wall.

[Natalya Neidhart]

The thing that made my grandfather fall in love with my dad, that, like, he. My dad won my grandfather over, is that my. My grandfather, you know, got my, like, basically choked my dad out. My dad. His blood vessels in his eyes were burst. The next day, my dad went down to the dungeon, and he ended up getting my grandfather in a hold and wouldn't let my grandfather out and hurt my grandfather. And so my grandfather was like, yeah, he's a tough son of a bitch.

[Nikki Bella]

Oh, my God.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And then. And then, like, three months later, my mom and dad were married. Married. Wow.

[Nikki Bella]

He really won.

[Natalya Neidhart]

My grandfather fell in love with my dad because my dad showed him his grit.

[Nikki Bella]

Yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And so my, like, it was just crazy. Like, it's just such a great.

[Nikki Bella]

I love it so much story. And I love that you're sharing all of that with your family. It's such a different type of memoir, you know, because so much we tell stories of us, but, like, we get to see what made you before you were even here.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Yes.

[Nikki Bella]

And I think that is what's going to be so beautiful about this book and what everyone's gonna love. And even how you such a quiet person in a way of. He doesn't share his stories and that. We're going to get TJ stories from your perspective.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And TJ said to me, too, he's like, whatever you want to say, you can say. Like, whatever you. Because there were some things, too, especially during TJ's injury, that were very traumatic and very dark for us personally. And TJ was like. Because I was like, oh, I don't want to write that. Because I don't. It's too personal. And I don't want people to, like, look at you differently or. And he's like, just say what you want to say. And so again, I put it on paper. I slept on it, I slept on it, I slept on it. And then, like, we're leaving it, but like, again, I think people are going to go, wow, I had no idea. I had no idea.

[Nikki Bella]

Totally.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And then you see, like, when you read about that time in our life and how hard it was you guys were. You guys lived through that time with me. Then we see TJ now and he's such a success story.

[Nikki Bella]

He's such a success story.

[Natalya Neidhart]

He's such a success story. And when you know, you. You guys know about Chris Bay and you know about everything that Chris has been going through with his injury. We met up with Chris Bay and his girlfriend the other day, and we have been keeping in touch with Chris because, you know, tj, when he broke his neck, it was like, like, it was just, you need all the love and support that you can get. You need it every single day.

[Nikki Bella]

You do.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And so we met up with Chris and so Chris, you know, it was so cool because TJ was able to bring his story to Chris. And Chris, Chris is walking. He was paralyzed from the neck down.

[Brie Bella]

Oh, my God.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And he, you know, Chris shared all that. And he's, you know, he's been very open about, like, I couldn't. He couldn't move. And now he's walking. And like, I have full faith in Chris Bay that he will wrestle again.

[Nikki Bella]

Oh, I bet.

[Natalya Neidhart]

I love that. I think he will. I think he absolutely will.

[Brie Bella]

Well, I do too. And you know what, Nadia? At the end of the day, what I've realized is the facts are the facts. You know, when I looked at, when we wrote our book, I was like, I. I can't cover people what they. Their actions were. Those were their actions and what they did. And so at the end of the day, I'm so excited to read your book and I can't. I love it. And for me, it's. If it ruffles feathers, that means it's.

I don't want to give too much away, but it's. It's just the people that believed in you from day one, and they. They stay in your life, and they're just such a part of your. Your fiber, you know? And it's part of my. Like, it's. I. How would I ever guess? From the first week that we trained together and you guys were just these beautiful girls that it was like, what are these girl girls gonna do? And then these girls ended up blowing everybody away and becoming, like, really the most mainstream people that we have in wwe next to the Rock. I mean, like, it's true. We were. Ma. Actually, Maxine Dupree and I were talking about that, and we're like, you know, Nicole and Bri were on People, the COVID of People magazine. Like, they were women. Like, you guys were, you know, women in wwe. We were fighting so hard to have more, which I'm so proud of. And you ended up exceeding all of the expectations. You've gone through highs and lows, and you're still standing and shining brighter than ever before and reverse aging at the same time.

You know what I mean?

Aging, like, fine.

Rey Mysterio is in the best shape of his life. What I love right now in WWE is that we're not letting a number define what people can do.

I remember when we all had. Had no money. And I, I'm so proud of those times because we, we had no money, but it was great. Who. Nobody had money when they were young. So we, we. I remember when it was our first weekend on the road and we were like, we had the map quest printed out because, you know, we didn't have GPS's. And then we all roomed together at like a Holiday Inn. You guys had. Because it was a double room with two beds.

[Brie Bella]

Yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Nicole and Bri, you guys had one bed. And then I was in a bed with Maurice.

[Brie Bella]

Oh, yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And I remember you guys got into a huge fight because Bri put her leg on the co.

[Brie Bella]

Like, I purposely.

[Nikki Bella]

Did it like your toes touch my toes or something. I was like, don't.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Yeah. You were like. But it was like four. Imagine four people in a room. I'm like, now I don't want anybody including.

[Brie Bella]

And you remember the cockroach in the bathtub.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And I'm like, I remember all of that. Remember when we were changing in like a closet at a bingo hall with no lights? I was changing in the dark going, where do I go to the bathroom.

[Nikki Bella]

Flea market with just the, the curtain up. And I was literally church parking lot.

[Natalya Neidhart]

So the clothes that you guys gave me, I have them still. Oh. Because when I, you know, when, when I first was in developmental, I, I, I didn't have, like, I had no money. I had no, like, I just was. And I also didn't here's the thing. I didn't have money, but I also had terrible style back then. I didn't know what the hell to wear, so I had just these ugly outfits. And I remember you guys be, like, very polite. Like, come into our closet, and you were giving me sweaters and dresses and, like, like. And so I have all of those saved because I never could let go of them because they. I remember, like, they were so special to me because, you know, there was the Arden B. Dress.

[Nikki Bella]

Like, oh, my. I love Arden B.

[Brie Bella]

And so my dad, all the way up until he passed away, he had this one picture by his bed. It wasn't of my sisters and I. It was of me. You and him both. You know, the twins and my. Like, we were at Bourbon Street.

[Nikki Bella]

Bourbon Street. I loved that photo.

[Natalya Neidhart]

My dad. Dad would just. From the first time that he saw you guys, it was just. I love that picture because I can just picture that whole night. Yes, he was. The very first time he saw me wrestle in wwe, and he. This is a funny story. But he wouldn't. He wasn't like, natty, I'm so proud of you. I'm so. He was like, those Bella twins, they are like. You see their stomachs. He was talking about your abs and, like, they're Cali girls there. He loved you guys. I was like, daddy, you could talk about me a little bit. Put me over. But he was just like. And. And those were just magical times when they were sitting in front of, like, 50 people.

[Brie Bella]

But dang, you. You gave Nicole, like, a German suplex.

[Nikki Bella]

I was a little bit down the. I don't think that was that.

[Brie Bella]

Not that Nicole.

[Natalya Neidhart]

By the way, when the night that I did give Nicole the German suplex on the floor of that bar, she asked me to do that.

[Brie Bella]

I know, and it was hilarious. I just remember selling. I was like, oh, that was good.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Dr. Tom was like, you guys aren't doing that.

[Nikki Bella]

The clipboards, I remember always flying up.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Like, always like this. Like, Nicole worked through. Nicole is. We talk about stubborn. So it's funny because, you know, everybody else calls you Nikki, but I, I, I. Nicole is Nicole. She's not gonna ever be anything but Nicole to me, because that's how I first met her.

[Nikki Bella]

Yes.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And it's. It's funny because Nicole. I remember when we were in practice or whatever, we had the. No, no ac. And it was the three rings or whatever, we were all sitting on the soup cans, and Nicole broke her nose that day. She was still wanting to wrestle with a broken nose, like 10 minutes after it happened. And I did blood gushing through your nose.

[Nikki Bella]

I do. I don't know if you remember this. Back from the match, my forehead and cheeks swelled so much you barely see my eyes. And I remember you could barely see my nose. And Dr. Tom's like, what the happened to you? And I'm like, so I think I got concussed and I broke my nose before the match. But I didn't want to tell you because I really wanted to compete. He goes, oh, my God. And like, they checked me and they're like, yeah, you're concussed. Your nose is broken.

[Natalya Neidhart]

It was so. And we also, you guys, we were part of the, you know, handing out the flyers for the show.

[Nikki Bella]

Yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Because back then when we were in fcw, we had to go and like, hand, you know, get. Make sure that people knew that. Because it. Social media back then. No, there wasn't Instagram or Twitter. Like, we were none of that. We were, you know, we were doing all those extra things. But I, I always remember you guys being the first ones at practice, the last ones to leave. And then we'd go on our walks after. Remember we had those little sweat belts and then we would have like. I mean, I remember us doing everything.

[Brie Bella]

TJ Maxx.

[Nikki Bella]

We did everything.

[Natalya Neidhart]

By the way, I still love T.J. maxx.

[Nikki Bella]

Yes.

[Natalya Neidhart]

I, I, it's something nostalgic about T.J. maxx. And it's like, I know I can, can, you know, buy nicer things that I like now, but I still love my TJ Maxx. I love finding a good little sale.

[Nikki Bella]

Yes.

[Brie Bella]

Oh, we love, Oh, I love sales. T.J. maxx and Marshalls. I just remember, I remember exactly where they're at, too.

[Nikki Bella]

Oh, I love it. You know, that's the thing. It's like we were so, I mean, Nadia, you're still so fearless, but I just remember that era being so fearless and then coming up and, and doing all the things. But that's like, what makes me miss out so much. I wish that I can do so much more now, but, like, with a neck injury, I know I can only do so much, but, but just to have that fearless energy of like. Yes, do it no matter what.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Realize too is that like, you know, this day and age, like, the people that are really excelling and the ones that are really shining and succeeding, it isn't always about doing crazy, crazy stuff in the ring. No, it's about the story.

[Nikki Bella]

Yes.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And so, and that's the thing, is that I think of some of my favorite matches in wwe. Like, you know, your match with Steph, I mean, like, because there was a story, and I remember watching that going, first of all, I had no idea that Stephanie could just, like, she was phenomenal, phenomenal in that setting. But like, you. You met. You pushed her to be like, it was because of the story. Yeah, the story. It's not always about doing crazy, crazy stuff. Like, I look at Roman and I look at, like, some of the people that I really love watching. I've enjoyed all that bloodline stuff from when it. When it started.

[Brie Bella]

So good.

[Natalya Neidhart]

But. But they build stories so carefully.

[Nikki Bella]

Yes.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And it's just the way Roman will look with his eyes or, you know.

[Nikki Bella]

It'S like he has such a presence.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And. Yeah, it's like. But like, it's. He. It's a lot of it. So much of it's about, like, threading the story.

[Nikki Bella]

Oh, no, you're right.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And so. And. And so that's why with you and Bri, I'm like, I. I'm just putting it out to the wrestling gods. But, like, you guys are so great at not only elevating yourselves and evolving constantly, but also elevating other women. And I think that, like, in wwe, we are always so open to that. There's so many women that could learn from you guys and benefit from you guys, not just in how you carry yourselves and what you do in and outside of the ring, but your ability to tell stories. So me, like, again, putting it out there.

[Nikki Bella]

Well, Evolution two is coming up, and.

[Brie Bella]

Maybe the total divas come together.

Yeah, I mean.

I mean, how much fun would that be?

Yes, day one. But there's something there still there. Because you know what I've now have noticed when people keep asking about things, it's like, oh, this is, like, meant to be. And so all of a sudden. And I. You see that with different things in life, even different shows I've seen, I'm like, yeah, see that. That was supposed to be. People kept asking for it. People won't let go about the total divas people.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And by the way, people really want it more, like, iconic because it's like that nostalgic.

[Nikki Bella]

Exactly.

[Natalya Neidhart]

You know, that nostalgic vibe of, like, we're all doing so well currently, but, like, there people remember how much I feel like we're more celebrated now than when we were even doing the show.

[Nikki Bella]

100% sure.

[Natalya Neidhart]

And seeing Trinity with what she's doing at WrestleMania and the last couple months of this evolution of her character, it has given me so much inspir and hope that, like, it's so cool to see, like, she. With your book just I the thing I every single day I always just think about being 1% better. It's just like I say that at my ring. I say that in my relationship with tj, I say that my relationship with my family. I say that my, you know, my goals with wwe, when I'm telling other people, it's just like sometimes when you look at the big picture, it can be so overwhelming in your life or at work or with friends or relationships or if you're a parent, just all of it. It can be so overwhelming. But if you just take everything one moment, moment at a time and you just compartmentalize like, okay, I know today I can just be 1% better. I just 1%. I'm not even saying 2%. But over time, over time it really starts to add. Add up. It's all about consistency and I think like it's just about living in the moment. And that 1% every single day adds up.

[Nikki Bella]

Yes.

[Natalya Neidhart]

You know, it's just, it adds up so that because time is going to pass anyway, right? So it's like even if you're on a diet or you're, you know, trying to you have a fitness goal you want to reach or you're, you know, know, it's just 1% better.

It's so true. Because when you want too much of the percentage, I feel like that's when you give up.

[Brie Bella]

That's when you get overwhelmed.

You get overwhelmed. You're like, I just can't do this. But when I like that. You do that 1% every day.

Here I am all of a sudden, six months go by, and you're 50. Better.

I've definitely gotten better because I used to be the one. I'd have a long list of things to do, thinking I have to do it all in one day. And finally I was like, bree, just take the week to get it done. Slowly cross everything off. And I felt like my stress and anxiety was, like, away because I just gave myself time to breathe.

[Nikki Bella]

Well, and I've been, like, slowly getting back into lifting heavier, like, to prep for this comeback. And, you know, I told myself that. Exactly. Little bit at a time, Nicole. Like, you're not going to get super strong overnight. And I've been doing that. And I had text my sister, my mom last week, and I'm like, I went up £15. I was, like, so happy. And I was. Didn't even realize it, but I was just doing a little. A little bit at a time.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Right.

[Nikki Bella]

And then all of a sudden, here I am, and it's like, it feels just so good. And I'm like, see, that's why I just stick with it. Don't over expect. Just do a little bit.

[Natalya Neidhart]

Yep. And just do. And even, like, even for workouts and stuff. Some days I feel amazing, and I want to go out there and just go crazy in the gym, but sometimes I'm just like, I'm a power walk.

[Nikki Bella]

Yeah.

[Natalya Neidhart]

You know, I'm just gonna do lightweights or I'm just gonna, like. My mom is. My mom just turned 70, and she's in the best shape of her life.

[Brie Bella]

She looks incredible.

[Natalya Neidhart]

She's lost. Wow. Since my dad passed away, you know, it's been over five years. But she. Since he. Since he passed away, my mom has lost 25 pounds. She used to never work out before. And so, you know, at 65, she started working out, and she started, like, really dialing in her vitamins. She works out with me all the time. And I would say, like, don't have to go crazy with me. But, like, she. My mom's running on a treadmill.

[Nikki Bella]

Wow.

[Natalya Neidhart]

My mom doesn't even have gray hair. She doesn't get gray hair.

Oh, my God.

And I was like, Crazy. Down with this. Yes. Like, like I was like, even.

She's on a lot of B12.

But like she's. She's doing so great and it's so like I always say to my mom, like, we don't have to go to the gym. The gym and working out and stuff can be so intimidating to people. But like, it's just about getting your blood flow going, you know? And we do enjoy a nice little glass of wine.

I'm like, so then you guys were down having breakfast with the film crew and everything. And then I'm like, Brett's like, he wants to call. You can. And I was like, well, shit. He's in this movie called Aquaman. Yes, absolutely. Jason Momoa wants you to be one of his movies. I was like, oh, my God. Like, am I. This is crazy. Like, I'm going to like. Anyway, I got on the phone with this fake Jason Momoa for an hour. I was like, ready to quit my job because he was.

Did you ever find out who did it?

No.

And then he told me he was going to call me back and I had live. Like, live.

I remember we were all waiting by, like, we all want to hear Jason Momoa.

And I was like, I mean, it was so epic.

Call up wwe, be like, hey, guys, do a movie.
