Parkside Heights’ location in Cleveland means that people from nations all over the world come to live, study, and work nearby. In light of the church’s desire to participate in international missions, Dan overviewed God’s desire to reach us scattered rebels from the beginning in Genesis 11 to the fulfillment of that mission with the gathered worshippers in Revelations 7:9-11.June 28, 2026

Guest speaker Cameron Cronk from Parkside Church opened the word to Luke 5:1-11 where he highlighted the story of Peter obediently listening to and humbly following Christ. He showed how Christ moves closer to us and gives us a new calling, and we must be willing to leave everything behind to be one step closer to Him.June 21, 2026

Romans 12:3-8 emphasizes that the Church is like the human body: we have a vital, organic connection to Christ as ‘the head’ and to our fellow Christians as other members of that same body. And within that body, each Christian has a gift, given to them by God, designed with consideration for the Church’s mutual connection, support, and strengthening.

In the conclusion of 1 Timothy, Paul provides wealthy Christians with additional instructions in verses 6:17-19: they are to avoid haughtiness through their acknowledgement that their wealth is a gift from God and they are to generously share that gift as a unique type of ministry. Paul ends the letter in verses 20-21 with a reminder that we must guard the Gospel and faithfully pass it along to the next generation.June 7, 2026

1 Timothy 6:11-16 overviews five commands Paul gives Christians. We are to flee from the dangers of sin and to pursue what is godly instead through chasing after Christ. We also must fight against false doctrine, take hold of and enjoy the wonderful gifts God gives in this life, and keep His commands.May 31, 2026

Modern American culture is often driven by the desire for money, a concern also present in the actions of the false teachers in Paul’s time. 1 Timothy 6:6-10 reminds its readers of the importance of storing up heavenly treasures rather than material goods that cannot cross over into eternity. Instead of striving for all we do not have, Christians are to pursue the blessings of contentment in what God has already provided.May 24, 2026

We often discuss outside threats to the church, but Paul, particularly in 1 Timothy 6:2-5, emphasizes the need to look for false teachers who may infiltrate the congregation. These false teachers can be sniffed out by how they add or subtract from the words of Christ, their character, and their desire for personal gain.May 10, 2026

Guest Pastor Bruce Chimani from Old North Church shared the story of Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch’s conversion from Acts 8:26-40. Throughout the sermon, Pastor Chimani showed how God drives the Gospel past every barrier to welcome those deemed unacceptable by others into His people.May 3, 2026

Cleveland is a hub for many major universities, hospitals, and other major Northeast Ohio institutions, and so many members of Parkside Heights often leave after a few years. Paul experienced a similar sort of scattering in his ministry. Acts 17:1-9 reminds us of the benefits that come with living in a strategically-placed city, like Cleveland, where we are to help build up the Church through thoughtful engagement with the Gospel and the sending of Christians into other parts of the world.April 26, 2026

Every week, each of us has to enter into our various workplaces, but what does it mean to serve and honor God in our jobs? As mentioned in 1 Timothy 6:1-2, we must remember that, no matter the work environment–non-Christian or Christian–we are representatives of Christ who should consider those we work for worthy of honor and strive to lead people to Christ through our conduct.April 19, 2026
