There are several ways that Working From Home have impacted all of us since the beginning of the pandemic. Before the pandemic started, barely 6 our of 10 Americans have ever worked from home ... EVER. And in such a strange situation for most of us, we have felt a lost of genuine connection. That alone has a domino effect that transcends ourselves. Not being able to genuinely connect with our other people can possibly cause a a major erosion in our feeling of belonging. Belonging to a certain group of friends, belonging to a team, or simply loose connection all together with the organization's vision and mission altogether.Mitch Hankins has studied this topic for years and brings phenomenal insight to it. More over, we can explore what can be done if you find yourself in this situation where you feel like you somehow don't belong anymore. What are the 5 things that a talented pianist and growing your new business have in common?I’ve had the pleasure and opportunity to talk to a very young and talented pianist who has a very serious presence on social media, and during hour 2-hour conversation we discussed everything from her upbringing, her passion for music to where she draws her creativity and inspiration from.It was a very enlightening conversation with Brooklyn Stafford, and as we discussed her success in the music industry as well as her social media footprint, I have found myself relating very deeply to the overlaying mindset that she was applying in her day-to-day life. Here are some of the take-aways from that conversation:Use your environment as a growth catalyst. Identify your support system and don’t be afraid to rely on it. Get inspired by others with same aspirations as yours, identify who you look up early on. Healthy competition is good, it helps you challenge yourself and grow.Get good at what you do. Experiment with different styles and get out of your comfort zone. Don’t be shy, the opportunity to showcase your work and get positive reinforcement will provide you with the validation for your work and effort during the tough days when you are uninspired. If you can envision something, you can do it. Let your inspiration flow and guide you through your creative process. You may not be the absolute best in your field, but let your inspiration and intuition be your guide.Prioritize yourself, you live with yourself 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. So do what makes you happy, follow your passion and pursue your dreams. You’ll find true inspiration in what set your soul on fire. Show up as you are. You’ll build intrinsic trust effortlessly. Life is too short not to enjoy it, so have fun and be authentic! There may be very well more than 5 things in common between a talented pianist and an entrepreneur, including hard work, random hours and exhausting work times, etc. But I thought I would share these 5 highlights of the conversation because my biggest takeaway, is that there are lessons learned and commonalities in every industry and profession. The struggles, pain points and success stories are not that different, we just need to be willing to have a conversation and listen.Go take a peak and follow Brooklyn's Instagram account, you won't regret it > https://www.instagram.com/brooklynfrombrklyn/ If you have enjoyed this episode please SUSCRIBE and LEAVE A REVIEW.**************FREE RESOURCES1. It’s been a hot minute since I spoke with Chris Pieta, professional photographer and entrepreneur. Chris has proven himself in the photography industry and he became a reference for many upcoming photographers who are trying to build a business out of it. During our conversation we discussed how people who are interested in photography can find their niche, how to overcome imposter syndrome and the importance of a good support system to get going. From our conversation with Chris, here are our takeaways:Everything is moving online, so everyone is needing quality photography, therefore there is enough demand and market share for experienced and new photographers. The demand is there, so if you follow the right steps there is always room to grow and scale your business. It is way easier to grow if you find your niche and specialize in it.When starting up your business and want to find your niche, don’t just focus on what you are passionate about, keep in mind your ROI as well as the return on investment of your client. It is way easier to get paid top dollar in a market niche where there is maximum return of their investment in photography, that way you can ensure some sort of sustainability of your business model. You may want to avoid shrinking markets altogether, like newspapers. Instead, try to identify growing markets and try developing in that area.It is critical that you find your client’s paint point and provide a solution. In some instances, when it comes to providing a quote for a project, you are better off providing a quote for the project instead of quoting by the hour. It would allow you to be able to scale your business when you need to account for other expenses such as hiring an editor for example. If you charge hourly it is harder to scale in the future and embed those costs in the quote. The following principles are the ABC to kick start a photography business:Identify your niche, give it a shot and if it works become an expert at it.Build a portfolio around it and publish it.Get your sales going: cold call & build your email list.Offer a discovery call. If you are thinking on how to overcome self-doubt or Imposter syndrome:Awareness: at times you may need to level up your game.At times it may not be you, it may be you are in the wrong niche.Don’t try to reinvent the wheel – somebody has already done it, follow their steps.Find a proven framework that is currently working and follow through. How to find your passion and handle failures:Respect your past experiences, even failures and they were learning opportunities.Be open minded to try new things and it will help you find what is your passion. And last but not least, surround yourself with people that will support you, it’s critical for your success. If you have enjoyed this episode please SUSCRIBE and LEAVE A REVIEW.**************FREE RESOURCES1. Today we have an amazing guest with us! Randy Free is an executive life coach for men and mentor to adolescent males.Randy has been a passionate men’s advocate for over three decades. He has mentored hundreds of men and boys and guided them through life’s challenges and through his leadership men have been empowered to overcome addictions, successfully work through marital crisis, set and achieve stretch goals in their careers, and become better husbands and fathers. Starting from the humble beginnings of a rice farming community in Texas, Randy built his career as an international tax expert through hard work and mentorship. Having spoken to thousands, he’s widely sought after for his insights. His experience includes building and scaling teams in locations around the world including Australia and Singapore. After climbing the ranks and attaining partner status in a global accounting firm, Randy realized he was being called to a higher level of service to serve men by guiding them in building the masculine character of a leader, a lover, and a legacyThese are the major takeaways from my conversation with Randy.Nowadays adolescents need mentoring more than everYoung men go through a lot of changes, and it can be pretty challenging.Being isolated with Covid they have seen many avenues to communicate shot down, so providing them a community was critical to maintain mental health while maintaining a safe environment.Parents need to be careful about the mood they project. A lot of adolescents deal with anger issues; and we should think how we as adults present ourselves to them. Adolescents will mirror our behavior; they will reflect the attitude they see in front of them, even non-verbal communication.Use positive reinforcement when talking to adolescents, specifically when they speak about not being able to manage their anger, we should reposition that conversation as “we are learning to manage it”.Teens actually do want boundaries, as they make them more secure to explore their environment. It allows them to know their limits and explore their limits in a safer way.Navigating sexual topics are important even as we as a society perceive it as a touchy subject. If you don't talk about sex with your kids, somebody else will.As adults, at times we are not even aware of our biases.Randy uses his proprietary ZEAL method to coach executive clients. ZEAL (Zoom in a vision of your future self, Erase behaviors and beliefs that have been holding you back, Action new ways of thinking and integrate new habits, and Leverage your brain, new tools and resources).Part of Randy’s program focuses on building resilience to deal with challenges and adversity in the future and you can find him through his website, www.coachtoresilience.com If you have enjoyed this episode please SUSCRIBE and LEAVE A REVIEW.**************FREE RESOURCES1. This week on the The Possible Future Podcast we have the honor of hosting social media influencer Maria Hering!Maria have experienced the ups and downs in life, has been on the spotlight more than once in her career and became famous for it. She has been featured in movies, TV shows and she has recorded an album and been on tour. But much of this fame came with a lot of anxiety and believe it or not, emotional emptiness. So Maria decided to embark herself in a journey of self love. With the right support and mindset she has found her peace, freedom and happiness; and now she is using the fame she gained along the way to share her wisdom and caring message. Our conversation was very honest, open and rich, and Maria was kind to let us take a quick peak into her personal life and share what she does nowadays to ensure she fills fulfilled, happy and making the right impact with other people. These are some of my takeaways from this conversation with our friend Maria:1) Start with yourself. Demand yourself mental peace and a good environment. Reconnect with yourself. After all, you are with yourself 24/7 so you might as well treat yourself right.2) You can have it all, be rich, and still feel very much empty. Don't compare personal success with having money. Instead, work on understanding what really makes you happy.3) Self development goes beyond taking online classes, is taking baby steps towards growing and loving yourself more.4) Learning to shift your energy when you are having a bad day to acquire a positive mindset is lifechanging - It's a lifestyle choice, and as such, it will change your life, it's a total gamechanger.5) What you consume you become. Food, books, podcast, including friendships and even how your treat and speak to yourself. Be mindful of that, start with treating yourself right, it starts at home.6) Progress over perfection any day of the week. Small progress compounds to big changes over time. Don't underestimate the impact of the small things you do today, they all add up.7) Life is now! The past are memories, and your future is just a projection. Embrace your present and enjoy what you do today regardless of what you are working towards in the future.Maria is not just a pretty face, she is jammed packed with wisdom and she has the warmest heart. It was an absolute pleasure to have this kind of conversation with her. Do you ever get frustrated when you make a mistake and things don’t go as planned? I know I did.The problem with that frustration we feel when things go wrong is that it will prevent us from seeing what it is also happening around us, and we get trapped in our guilt for making mistakes, and it will eventually paralyze us.It is important to acknowledge those mistakes and learn from them, that's what continuous improvement is all about, and us coaches talk about it almost daily with the people and teams we coach. But as important as learning from our mistakes is to learn to let go of the guilt we feel from those mistakes. As professionals we don't want to fail, as parents we don't want to fail, as sons / daughters we don't want to fail, as employees we don't want to fail, and this list goes on and on. So the feeling to do things right is embedded in our brains and making a shift has to be intentional. So I took it upon myself to make changes in my life to ensure I am not so hard on myself, to understand I am also human, and that I also make mistakes, and that it is ok.I have realized I was entirely too hard on myself and that the level of self-empathy was a little below my own standards, so it wasn't easy to adjust. But those changes proven to be good; they got me back into a happy place where I can shine and be the person I like to be.I needed to learn to forgive myself for the cues I have missed in conversations, for the unspoken words, for the feelings I were meant to had but I have missed and for the things I have erred on unintentionally.I have also discovered that with letting go of Guilt and embracing Grace, I have also embraced Gratitude, experience Growth, and showed up with Grith. It was clear that with #Guilt and without #Grace, #Gratitude and #Growth, I would never be #Great. So I leave you with that, take a step back and live a life where you are not so hard on yourself and that you show up with Grace, Gratitude, Grit and Greatness to allow your Growth instead of Guilt. If you have enjoyed this episode please SUSCRIBE and LEAVE A REVIEW.**************FREE RESOURCES1. Be first to like their profile on IG as they get build up in the next few days. If you need to remodel your house, or part of it such as your basement or playing area you'll be in good hands with Amy's craftmanship. The fact that Amy was able to break through her comfort zone and navigate uncertainty in a new light is by far one of the most daring things she has done in her life; and I it makes me very proud of her. Well, if we want to be 100% honest, even being on this podcast is way our of her comfort zone! For the past 2 years we have all faced a great deal of uncertainty since the pandemic hit us, and I mean, all of us in this world has faced uncertainty. We have navigated this uncertain, ever changing world to the best of our abilities and some of us lost our jobs, some of us have lost our loved ones. Understanding what is at stake, and the limited time we have on this earth had provided some us with the necessary urgency to take action. Some us have changed careers, some of us changed corporate jobs, and some have chose the WFH life as opposed to returning to an office environment. There is no right or wrong, there is only what matter to us most. For some of us, it was simply being closer to family. Amy will walk us through what it took for her to brake through comfort zone in her life, from going to a UGA, to moving to London for a summer and then taking on these new companies she is launching in early 2022. As prior years has dealt us with some blows, it also come with lessons learned if we are willing to listen. And Amy has done just that. She paid attention, she took her time to make sure she was taking calculated risks and then took action. Slow progress is still progress, and as she put its, as long as you are making progress towards your goals, it doesn't matter how fast you go, just keep on moving forward. If you have enjoyed this episode please SUSCRIBE and LEAVE A REVIEW.**************FREE RESOURCES1.
