You're tuned into the Potter's House podcast where we are encouraged by powerful testimonies and life changing truth. Let's go. God started something last week. A word. It was more than a word. It was the beginning of a real breakthrough as your soul prospers. And we looked at a few passages of scripture and I'm gonna do a little bit of recap and I've got a couple of thoughts to add on to it. Today I don't have I typically have five or six pages of notes. Today I have two. So we won't be here too long, but we're going to finish what we started. 3rd John. One and two
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Beloved,
Bishop T.D. Jakes
I pray that you may Prosper in all things and be in health. In other words, I want you to prosper and thrive and be blessed in every which way, but loose in everything that concerns you, from the crown of your head, the soles of your feet, to everything that concerns you. I want you to prosper, to do well, to be fruitful, to multiply, to not go backwards, but to always go forward
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
according
Bishop T.D. Jakes
as your soul prospers.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
And then I want us to look
Bishop T.D. Jakes
at something that I had never seen before until the other day in Mark, chapter three, a little truth, a nugget of wisdom hidden in the midst of great miracles. Mark 3, beginning at verse 7, says,
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
But Jesus Christ withdrew with his disciples
Bishop T.D. Jakes
to the sea, and a great multitude from Galilee followed him. And from Judea and Jerusalem and Idumea and beyond the Jordan, and those from Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they heard how many things he was doing, came to him. So he told his disciples that a small boat should be kept ready for him because of the multitude, lest they should crush him. That a small boat should be kept ready for him because of the multitude, lest they should crush him. Father, thank you so much for the opportunity to be in your courts, to be in your house, the opportunity to hear your word, to receive your unction. And God, we thank you for what we've already experienced. And we esteem your word more than our necessary food. It is a lamp unto our feet, it is a light unto our path. Now you love your sons and daughters richly. You are into us beyond what we would even fathom. And therefore may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight. God, I'm yours. And I thank you for the spirit of wisdom and revelation and insight and prophecy, knowledge and accuracy that you might build your children today, have your way, do a great work in Jesus name, Amen. Amen. God bless you. God keep you is my prayer. Last week we started our conversation by me trying to transparently acknowledging that I am not a subject matter expert on the subject of the soul. I would never purport myself to be that, but that I am a journey mate with you trying to figure this thing called life out. No one but God has all the answers, and that's why it is critical. It's important that we have a relationship with God. Lean on God, depend on God, trust God and walk with God, because we will learn as we go. But it was very, very clear to me that God was calling our attention to a part of us that is often neglected. And that part of us Is our soul. We talked about how the other aspects of us, our mind, our body, even our spirit is a bit more accessible and easy to recognize and to identify and therefore gets a response from us in gets attention from us because it
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
is ever present with us.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
We have a consciousness of mind, a consciousness of our bodies, obviously and even a consciousness that we are spirit beings. But the soul is a little deeper. It is the deepest part of who we are. And it is not only deep and hard to realize and hard to access,
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
but it is very impressionable. Things that happen to you in life, they happen to your soul.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Your soul is impressionable. It's delicate.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
And it's supposed to be because you were created in the environment, in the safe environment of God. There were no threats there. And so your soul could be impressionable. God being the only one to shape you and form you. So it's okay with it being. It's almost like the scripture talks about husbands, dwell with your wives.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
According to the weaker vessel is how King James translated.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
A better translation is a delicate vessel. Does it mean that. That there's something wrong?
Bishop T.D. Jakes
It just means that you are like fine china.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
It speaks to your worth.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
It speaks to it being delicate. So the soul is very much like that. It is impressionable. I mentioned last week that when I was 16 years old, I got caught up in a drive by in Los Angeles and I was shot and. And my body healed in months. It took my soul decades to heal. And the craziest part about it was I didn't even know it was wounded.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
The bodily wound was obvious, the soul wound was not. And I didn't figure it out until later on. Watch this. I started showing up differently because I had been shaped by what shaped my soul. So. So we learned that. That according to the health of your soul determines the output of your life.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
I'm just. I'm just. We're recapping a little bit.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
So who you are showing up as right now is a reflection of the shaping of your soul. In the book Knowing, I have a
Bishop T.D. Jakes
chapter called Misknowing Trauma Secret Symptom.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
So it seems like this is just who you are. And that's not that. That's only half true. It is just who you are. But who you are is a result of the shaping that you've experienced in your life, the shaping of your soul. Which means that we have to pay attention, we have to locate the soul and we have to pay attention to the soul. Because if we don't deal with the soul, the soul will deal with Us
Bishop T.D. Jakes
are we tracking?
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
And so we looked at third John and what the writer was saying. And the writer was not putting the, the prosperity of our lives and our
Bishop T.D. Jakes
health, the forward progress of our lives and our healths.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
He wasn't putting that in equal posture to the soul. He wasn't doing that. He was really talking about the soul and he was trying to help us to understand that if our soul does
Bishop T.D. Jakes
well, our life will do well.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
And I'm, I'm thinking about the times
Bishop T.D. Jakes
that we're in right now.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
And let me just say it plainly. The body was not created, was not wired to experience this much chaos. I, I know that, that certain things have been normalized because we're getting a little anesthetized to things because they happen so frequently. It used to be, we used to
Worship Leader
be shocked
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
by what people say or do. Now we almost have come to expect cray cray. And hear me clearly, family, that's not normal. Our intake, the intake that we constantly and consistently receive and take in, it is wowed. And it is affecting us in ways we don't even realize because it's been normalized. Can I talk to you about the
Bishop T.D. Jakes
brain a little bit?
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
The brain is wired for predictability. It craves, it longs for predictability. And when the mind can no longer predict what's next, it goes into a fight or flight type of state. And the part of your brain that is what is used for creativity and progress shuts down. And the other part of your brain that is for protection turns on. Now imagine years and years, weeks and weeks, scenario after scenario of watch this. Of chaos that puts you in a place where you can no longer predict peace. You don't know what's going to happen. This is the state of the human being right now. And that state does not naturally or organically bring forth the best version of us. That's why we have decision fatigue.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Should I stay or should I go?
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Should I start the company or should
Bishop T.D. Jakes
I sell the company?
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Should I move to Dallas or should I move to la? All these sort of things.
Worship Leader
Why?
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Because. Because. Because your system is short circuiting. And watch this. Either you do nothing or you move in fear and do something irrational. Are you tracking with me? So here's what I'm saying. I'm saying we're not doing as good as we think we are. And the beauty about the opportunity to have a healthy soul is when you have a healthy soul, it becomes an anchor. Whereby we are no longer tossed to
Bishop T.D. Jakes
and fro by everything that's taking place. Can I take my time?
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
So last week, last week I introduced the concept that was to compel us
Bishop T.D. Jakes
to recognize the soul, to recognize that we have one, and to be intentional
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
about taking care of the soul.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
That's where we left off.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
We learned last week that you cannot tend to your soul with any old thing. The soul is unique and distinct. We looked at the scripture in Hebrews 4:12, where it talked about how, when it's talking about how powerful and dynamic the word of God is, talked about how it's so quick, alive and powerful, and it's sharper than any two edged sword that it divides asunder soul and spirit. In other words, it draws a line of demarcation between soul and spirit, meaning that this is a very fine line, hard to tell where one stops and the other begins and vice versa. And yet he doesn't say that everything else is going to prosper when your spirit prospers, he says, when your soul prospers, that's when everything else is going to prosper. So last week we talked about that. We drew to the best of our ability the distinction between the spirit and, and the soul because we needed to separate the soul out. Because the soul, what the soul needs, is different from what the spirit, the
Bishop T.D. Jakes
mind and the body needs.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
And the soul needs God. God is the only one, come on. Who can restore the soul. David said in Psalm 23, the Lord is my shepherd and he goes down the list of all the things that the shepherd does. He leads me beside the still waters. And that's wonderful. But guess what? A good tour guide could lead you beside the still waters. Don't play with me, he says. Your rod and your staff, they cover me, they protect me. But a good pastor or a good father or a good mother can, can whip out the rod and the staff
Bishop T.D. Jakes
and guide you and protect you.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Don't play with me, he says, you anoint my head with oil and somebody can go pull a jar out in the back right now. And Torre Roberts can anoint your head with oil. But he says something in that context that only God can do. He says, you restoreth my soul. That sets God apart from anything and everything, because the only one that can do your soul good is Jesus. Are you tracking with me today? And that word, we're going somewhere. And that word that was translated restore, that's a great translation, but it literally means to turn back. It is almost as if God knew that there were going to be some things that happens to our souls, that misfigures, that disfigures Our soul. And we were going to need a savior to reshape and to reform our souls into its original shape so that we can be fruitful and multiply and show up. Watch this. And show up in life the way we are supposed to, because you cannot show up behind beyond how your soul is shaped. We talked last week. I'm almost into this week. We talked last week about how much of what we are taught compels us to try to fix our problems at the fruit level. This is how you have a good relationship. This is how you make more money. This is how you do this. Very few are talking about the reality that what determines the fruit is the root. I don't fix my fruit
Worship Leader
at the
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
level of the fruit. Watch this. I don't fix my output
Worship Leader
at the
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
level of my output. I fix my output at the place of my input because my input determines my output. And so we talked about how God equates us often in scripture to trees. How many places has he said, and you shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season whose leaf will not wither, and whatever he does shall prosper. And so what we're doing, we miss. Oftentimes we think about the. The tree prospering. We think about the fruit, and we think about the leaves not withering. But you missed it. He said, you're like a tree planted by the rivers of water. In other words, if you are not planted by the rivers of water, you not going to bring forth fruit and you're not going to bring forth it consistently.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
I feel this for somebody.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
I hear this clearly. I just want to say it.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
It's a root problem.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
You think it's a fruit problem, but it's a root.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Oh, I feel the Holy Ghost.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Somebody's getting ready to get restored. Somebody's getting ready to get reconnected. Somebody got detached from the vine. You thought that you were the vine. No, baby, you're not the vine. You are the branch. He says, abide in me. If you abide in me.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Ooh.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Abide your job. Watch this.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Your job is not even to bear fruit.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
That is not your job. That's not a job.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Your job is to abide.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Your job is to get good at abiding mission. Talk about a master class. Master abiding in him. Master keeping your roots in the river. If you master keeping your roots in the river, fruit is going to come automatically.
Worship Leader
The soul
Bishop T.D. Jakes
is like the roots, and the river is like God. And as the tree is healthy, then Its expression is healthy. We marvel at the tree. Oh, that's such a beautiful tree. And look at those lovely plants and look at those lovely flowers. And look at the fruit.
Worship Leader
The fruit.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Oh, my God, that's so beautiful. What you need to be looking at
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
is what's happening underground. That's what you need to be marveling at, because that's.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Watch this. Where you can't see is where all the magic happens. Are you tracking with me? So that's. That's the soul. If my soul prospers, ooh, hallelujah. I will prosper.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
If my soul prospers, I'll be the husband I want to be. If my soul prospers, I will be the parent that I want to be. If my soul prospers, I will be the entrepreneur that I want to be. If my soul prospers,
Bishop T.D. Jakes
the fruit is automatic.
Worship Leader
So today
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
I want to discuss soul maintenance.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
The maintenance of the soul.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Because now that I realize that I
Bishop T.D. Jakes
have a soul,
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
now that I realize
Bishop T.D. Jakes
that my life will rise or fall
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
as a result of what's going on in my soul, now that I realize that I cannot live through life without getting dents and dings
Bishop T.D. Jakes
in my soul,
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
it necessitates a new level of intentionality concerning my soul. Are you tracking with me? And so let's talk about that.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
When it comes to the maintenance of the soul, and I'm going to truncate
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
this, it isn't as much about labor
Bishop T.D. Jakes
or as much about you doing as
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
it is you doing.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Two things. One, regulating and receiving. Okay, so.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
So if I'm going to be a good steward over my soul, then I'm going to have to be a very intentional human being because my soul is impressionable.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
We mentioned it. It's shaped and impacted by what it receives. There's this word in the New Testament, and this word was attributed to. I believe it was Simeon in the Book of Acts. Read your whole Bible. You'll find it. Right, but this word was devout. It was translated. It was a Greek word, and it was translated into the English word devout. And I believe it was about Simeon. He was a devout man. Right.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
But if you look up that word,
Bishop T.D. Jakes
it is comprised of two words. One means to take, the other means well.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
So that word literally means to take.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Well.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
So to be devout or to be one who takes good care of their soul, understanding that their soul is a receiver and it is impressionable. It is the individual that is very intentional about what they take.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
I said that better.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
It is the individual that's intentional about what they receive. I don't just receive anything. I don't just put myself in any circumstance and situation because I've got a soul to protect. I don't go anywhere, I don't watch anything. I'm careful about what I put and feed into my spirit and into my soul because I'm protecting something. Because I realize as goes my soul, so goes me. We've got to be a little bit more devout. So I was thinking about Jesus in that text back in Mark 3, the disciples. He's moving with the disciples
Bishop T.D. Jakes
and he's
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
healing, he's preaching and he's driving out devils and he's doing all of that. And in the midst of all of that, he whispers to his disciples and
Bishop T.D. Jakes
he says, get a boat ready.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
And he doesn't just say get a boat ready. He says, get. Watch this. He says, get a small boat ready. A boat so small that even though I love you disciples, you can't fit in it. Watch this. He's working, he's moving, he's doing all that he knows to do. But he already has a strategy to escape in order to keep himself from being crushed. I believe that it's not just being crushed physically. I believe he's talking about protecting his soul. I can't be Jesus without protecting my soul. And that's why you would see him still away often. You would see him either steal to the sea or you would see him steal to the mountains or he would get up early.
Worship Leader
Why?
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Because he was protecting his soul. Because he was exposed to anything and everything and he understood in his humanity that he has to protect this thing. And as an example, some of you literally need to have a little boat somewhere. And your friends can't fit in that boat and your kids can't fit in that boat. Come on, somebody. And as much as you love your spouse, your spouse can't fit in that boat. Because as wonderful as they are, they cannot help your soul. You need to have an escape. You need to have a place that is only reserved for you and the Lord so you can get your soul worked. If you track it with me, say, I'm tracking pt. He was intentional. He was strategic.
Worship Leader
Watch this.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
He did not wait until his soul was injured. He had a strategy for his soul. We are self aware, but not soul awareness. And most of us figure out our soul is in trouble too late. Most of us figure out our soul
Bishop T.D. Jakes
was in trouble after the effects of a wounded soul shows up.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
After you completely lost your mind on your co worker, After you flipped out entirely on your spouse, in the name of Jesus.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
And we're living in times. I'm gonna get to the practical in a second. We're living in times, family, hear me clearly. Where we are going to have to be the best version of ourselves.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Let me tell you something. Because things are going to start moving so quickly, so fast, so hot and heavy that you are not going to have time to catch up. You are going to have to be your very best you this end. Because it's about to get a little dangerous.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
I gotta say this right. And I'm gonna get to the practicals. I gotta say this right. It's about to get a little dangerous. And here's what I mean.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
The time, the space.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
I'm trying to articulate this.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
The space between error and getting it right is shortening.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Shortening.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
That's why God is trying to sharpen us and watch this. And is trying to give us unusual tools and unusual perspectives and paradigms because we're going to have to be ready. We used to be able to fall seven times. Well, baby, we on time. Number seven. Are you hearing the words that are coming out of my mouth? That there is an accuracy. There is an accuracy that we are going to have to move in during these times. A clarity. Why do you think I've been talking about clarity? You don't think I want me a big old fat piece of chocolate cake right now? Because there is an act, there is an accuracy that if you have it, it's going to set you apart and you're going to go from being the tail to the head overnight because you're going to see clearly and you're going to be further down the road than everybody. That's still foggy. Are you hearing me? Clarity. Your clarity. Because you're not clouded by the damages
Bishop T.D. Jakes
of your soul, that clarity is going to set you apart.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
The Bible says, those who know their
Bishop T.D. Jakes
God, those who know their God.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Can I flow? Those who know their God shall be strong and they shall carry out great exploits. Watch this. And then it says, and those who turn many to righteous will shine like the stars of the firmament. Daniel, chapter 11, all the way through chapter 12 is talking about the last days. And it's talking about the connection between those who know their God. They're going to do great exploits.
Worship Leader
And.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
And they're also going to turn many to righteousness because they're going to be moving in something powerful, prolific, prophetic, protected and prosperous. But that will not happen
Bishop T.D. Jakes
if our souls aren't prospering.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Some try you're looking for answers. What should I do?
Bishop T.D. Jakes
How should I flow?
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
That's a problem. Here's why. If all you're doing is looking for answers, you're going to spend your whole
Bishop T.D. Jakes
life looking for answers.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
What we need to be looking for is source. If the tree planted by the rivers of water, it doesn't need to concern itself with seasons or success in those seasons. Seasons belong to God. Fruit belongs to God. Our ability to ground our souls belong to us.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
I want to say this right
Worship Leader
to
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
simply spend your life questioning is a distraction. We gotta move. Watch this from questioning to Knowing.

Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
How do I move from questioning to knowing?
Bishop T.D. Jakes
It's when I tap into in to him. So let's talk about that practically. I can't wait for us to pray because something's about to happen up in here. I feel it so strongly.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
What does the soul need to flourish?
Bishop T.D. Jakes
What does the soul need to return? To turn back? To be restored? What does the soul need? The soul needs agape.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
The soul in order for the soul
Bishop T.D. Jakes
track with me to be healed.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
And for those of you who don't
Bishop T.D. Jakes
know, I know most of you do. Agape is God's love. It's God's love. It's unshakable. It is not dependent upon the actions of the subject upon which it is set. It just is.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
It is not flexible, it doesn't bend, it doesn't. It's not diminished when it is not reciprocated. It is static, it is standard. It is settled. It is it. It's unshakable. It can't go anywhere. When Paul talks about how in Ephesians, I believe it's Ephesians chapter three. When he talks about my prayer, he says my prayer. One guy's praying, as he calls you beloved, that your soul would prosper and that everything else will prosper. Another guy, Paul, is praying that the eyes of your understanding might be enlightened and ultimately that you might know what is the width, the left, the height, the depth to know the love of Christ which passes all knowledge. Watch this. That you might be filled with all the fullness of God. In other words, he's saying that this God love, this agape, is so powerful and it's so amazing and it is so wonderful that if you get a revelation of it, you will literally be filled with all, all the fullness of God. This is what he says. In another place, John, the writer says perfect love. He talks about God's love being perfect love. It says, he who has not been made perfect in God's love fears. In other words, this love is so very powerful, Dr. Sabrina is so powerful that it is impossible for you to fear and have a revelation of God's love simultaneously. There's no space for fear in this radical, radical love. Imagine that. Let's talk imagine that for a second. Imagine not fearing. Imagine in the scariest moment of your life, whatever it might be, you got some sort of prognosis, something's going on, there's a threat in front of you. Imagine you not even being able to access fear. Think about the scariest thing in your life. The Bible says if you mature, if you grow up in your understanding of God's love, you literally will not fear. And while you're growing, it says, and this perfect love casts out fear. It literally, when you have a revelation of it and you live in it and you walk in it, it will literally evict fear from your life. Fear cannot hang up in the environment. Ah, environment. Cannot hang out in the environment of God's love. The Bible doesn't say that God has love. Hear Me. Clearly it doesn't say that God has love. That God has love for you. The Bible says that God is love. Watch this.
Worship Leader
So? So?
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
So when I am in the consciousness of God's presence, I come into the consciousness, his love. And his love heals me and it makes me whole. And when I'm healed and whole. Watch this. Now I can begin to trust my thoughts. Because the way that I think, Dana, when I am fearful is different from the way that I think. When I know I'm loved, when I know I'm loved, I get bold.
Worship Leader
When I know I'm loved, I get courageous. When I know I'm loved, I can
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
take God at his word.
Worship Leader
When I know I'm loved, I can run through troops and leap over a wall. I am a different person. Who you are
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
when you are afraid, when you are confused, when you are doubtful, when you are shaken is a completely different version of yourself. When you know you loved, You literally are a different person. How you think, how you operate, how you move. Watch this. How you forgive, Jalen. When. When you are loved, you lack nothing.
Worship Leader
You are perfect.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
You are complete.
Worship Leader
You are settled. You don't have to hold. No offense. You don't have to be mad at anybody. I am rich in love.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
I hand out forgiveness all day. See, you don't forgive when you feel like somebody took something from you that you can't get back. Unforgiveness is a poverty mindset. I can't give you forgiveness because what you did to me has permanently damaged me.
Worship Leader
But the devil is a liar. All I need, need is to know that God loves me. All that I need is to know that God has got my back. I am rich in love, baby and it ain't nothing that you did to me that can stop me. For God knows the plan.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
See, see, see, My soul thrives off of agape because it was fashioned in the context of agape. So my soul is trying to get back to love. My soul is trying to get back
Worship Leader
to a place where I was naked and unashamed. I wasn't trying to pretend that I was something that I wasn't because my soul knew that it was love just the way it is.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
I feel this for somebody. I said it last week. But there's some of you. We hadn't even seen you yet because you've been like Adam, hiding behind the stuff because you didn't have a revelation
Worship Leader
about how God feels about you. You thought that you were so wrong about what you did or what you've been through that you thought you, you had to try to cover yourself. You couldn't even worship. You couldn't even give God your everything because you felt like he couldn't handle it. And I hear God saying, don't try to cover yourself with fig leaves. I see it anyway. Worship me. I am your covering. My love will cover you. Ain't that the Bible? Love covers a multitude of sins. I got you. I got you. Just let me love on you, baby. Just let me love on you. You've been searching high and low for love when all you had to do was worship. Let me in there. I hear the Lord saying. Let me in there. Let me into your soul. Let me into your heart. Let me into your mind. I will deliver you. The soul.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Is healed, is restored, is delivered by love.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
It needs. Needs it.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Guess what?
Bishop T.D. Jakes
All everybody on this planet is looking for is love.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
You dress nice cause you're looking for love. You drive nice cause you're looking for love. And so
Bishop T.D. Jakes
then that brings us to worship. It brings us to worship. I didn't, I didn't know until about, I don't know, maybe 20 years ago. So what worship really was? I thought that worship was church. I thought that coming to church was worship. I thought that singing a song was worship. As I mentioned last week, singing can be a part of your worship, but singing is not worship. Worship. Because the soul, the soul is a receiver. It's a receiver. God is a filler. God is a filler. Soul is a receiver. That's why it's impressionable. Think about it. Okay, so God breathed the breath of life into man and at that point he becomes a living soul. So the soul was formed in reception. It's a receiver. God is a filler. He's a filler. He feels, all in all. So. So, so. So when I worship, worship is me opening my soul. To receive from God. Worship is not for God.
Worship Leader
He.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
He doesn't need worship. And if he did, Aunt Jackie did. The elders are around the throne right now. They rest not night nor day. And they're giving perfect worship, beholding him. So worship is not for God. We're not doing God a favor.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
God is not in heaven with low self esteem and abandonment issues, wishing that his creation would somehow praise Him.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
God is whole, it's complete, needs nothing. So if worship is not for God, who is it for? It's for me. And so I'm going to make this plain and we'll be finished. So worship is. Watch this. You feeling safe enough to say, here I am. All of me. I Ain't hiding nothing. Watch this. The lie in trying to hide from God is obvious. You can't. You can't. With just glasses, you can't.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
So. And he ain't believing the lie. So you are the only one being.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Somebody needs to even bring that before the Lord because that, excuse me, that won't get healed in hiding. You worship, but you don't worship fully because you don't believe that God can handle that. And you avoid. You avoid worship. You worship like this. Hallelujah. Look at this. Hallelujah. As a physical expression of blocking your soul from getting the love that it needs. To be delivered. Where do I want to go? Agape is the love language of the soul. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifest that he might destroy the works of the devil. I'm telling you, there are times where the worship team has led us into the consciousness of God's presence so powerfully that I dare not preach because I know that the truth of the matter is you can worship your way into freedom. I know that to be true.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
You can worship your way into healing. You can worship your way into deliverance. You can worship your way into direction.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
We don't know what the future holds. We don't even know if we'll be able to meet like this forever.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
We don't know.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
So what we have to cultivate. Is a lifestyle of true worship. Okay? My soul. My soul needs me to be intentional about the environments that I put it in. Jesus went off to the sea sometimes. Sometimes he went off to the mountains. You have to figure out what environments nourish your soul. Sometimes the environment is the time of day. If you know that if you get up at 3 in the morning, for whatever reason, the environment conducive to a real encounter with the Lord. Get up at 3 in the morning, go to bed at 7pm if you can. It's that important. I think I'm there. Hold on. So let me give you some directives for worship. First of all, we got to be vulnerable. Naked and unashamed is your portion. Guess what? Shame is not from God. God will never shame you. He will never shame you. You know, you hear people say, you know what?
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
I've seen it all.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
No, God has seen it all. And God can honestly and legitimately say, I have seen it all and yet I still love you. And my love for you is not diminished, not even one little bit. So now it becomes prideful to not forgive yourself because that is to suggest
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
that you're smarter than God or somehow you're more righteous than God to hold yourself to something that God says.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
I've thrown into the sea of forgetfulness
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
for my own sake in order for
Bishop T.D. Jakes
me to be God.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
I don't remember it.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
I don't even retain it. So if God doesn't retain it, why do we? So number one is I gotta be vulnerable. And isn't it a blessing that you actually have somebody that you can be vulnerable to? God, here I am, here's what I did, here's what I thought, here's what I tried to do, but it didn't work. Vulnerability, naked and unashamed. I'm not saying you boast in your foolishness. I'm just saying that you're honest. God, here it is, vulnerable, open. Take a look, check it out. Honest. Honest before you, God, not lying. I'm telling you the truth again. Isn't it a blessing that you can tell the truth? God, I'm jealous. God, I'm envious. God, I've got these feelings rising up. See, he can't heal what you cover because there's no agreement. The word confess in the Greek is from two words, homo logeo, homo same, logeo to speak. So to confess is to speak the same thing, he says. And when you homologeo your sins, he's faithful and just not only to forgive but to cleanse. So when there is agreement, when God, when we're saying the same things, that power of agreement is what releases the breakthrough. Are we tracking humble? I'm coming before you, God, Grateful that I can.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
I'm not coming to you.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
This drives me crazy. This loose spirit of self righteousness in the church. It's just trying. It's like God, Lord Jesus. Perfect example of how we should come before the lord is Luke 18. Two people go to pray. I'm almost done. Two people go to pray. One is a Pharisee, talks about all the stuff that he's doing right and
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
then he starts talking about what the
Bishop T.D. Jakes
next person is doing wrong. One of the translations, he actually thanks God that he's not like the sinner standing next to him. That's like some of these preachers in church today, they're patting themselves on the back and talking about other preachers. That is the most antichrist thing you can do. And so the two box, but the two. Okay, the Pharisee does all that stuff. Oh God, I'm so thank you that I'm this and I'm that and I'm thank you that I'm sure. Not like that old raggedy sucking so and so right here. And that little raggedy something there, raggedy something so and so right there. Wouldn't even lift up his eyes. He didn't have no long, articulate prayer. It wasn't eloquent. The Bible says he just smote his breast. He beat on his breast, wouldn't even look up and said, God, be merciful unto me, for I am a sinner. And the Bible says that him, the old raggedy one, quote, unquote, went back to his house, justified over the self righteous one. And then God says, he who humbles himself. So we come to the Lord humble, recognizing that if it had not been for him on my side, there was no good deed that you could have done. Humble, hungry, desperate for you, convinced in his love. I want to do a little praying. I want to say this. Before you do anything, worship before you even pray, worship. By the time you finish worshiping, you have direction on what to pray. Or by the time you finish worshiping,
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
you ain't got nothing to pray about.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Because the Lord has already affirmed you and validated you and spoke truth to you. That's why in the model prayer, when the disciples said, lord, teach me how to pray, he said, I'm gonna show
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
you how to pray. He says, our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
He said, worship first. Then you start asking, watch this before
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
you read your word.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Worship. Because you don't know what's in your. Your soul, in your Shondo. And you might be determining, trying to determine whether or not you ought to kill somebody. And you open up the Bible and
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
it says, grab your son Isaac and get a knife.
Worship Leader
You be like, that's my sign.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
No, it ain't.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Worship first. Before we do anything. Get what your soul needs. Amen. Come on, stand with me. I want to pray with you. We're done. Family tending to your soul, I promise you, is everything. We can't go beyond it. Our soul gets hurt, it gets scarred, it gets damaged. And you be like, I'm okay.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
No, you're not. No, you're not.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
That didn't hurt. Yes, it did. The divorce damaged your soul. The abuse damaged your soul. The betrayal damage your soul. None of us get to escape the impressions on the soul. The beautiful thing is God knows how to turn it back. He knows how to turn it back. And he'll take what the enemy went for evil. And he will turn it around for good. I want to pray for you. Just give me a. I just want to listen. Give me one second.

Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
maybe you have.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
There's been distance. You've been trying to figure this God thing out and you got a lot of questions and first of all, who doesn't? Hello somebody? None of us have a lock on all there is to know about God, but there's been today in worship and bishops sharing and what we went through today. Pastor Sarah throughout this experience there is a clarity about God and your need for God. If that's you, I want you to come and meet me here at this altar right now. If you're here and you say I need God, I need the lover of myself soul. God bless you. I need the lover of my soul.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
I want you to come and meet
Bishop T.D. Jakes
meet us here at this altar. God wants to do something. This is real. If you're here and you've been having a difficult time worshiping because you feel like I'm not worthy of God and
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
you haven't been able to open up
Bishop T.D. Jakes
your heart to the Lord and today
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
you Say, you know what? I don't want to hide.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
I'm coming out of hiding because I
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
know I'm safe with you.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
If that's you, I want you to meet me here at this altar as well. If that's you and you're online, just
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
put it in the feed I received. Jesus, put it in the feed.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
I'm coming out of hiding. Hi, sweetie. God loves you. I feel the Lord saying, I'm gathering you right now. Hey, God bless you. I'm gathering you right now. I'm gathering you. I'm gathering you. I'm gathering you, gathering you. God says, you belong to me. You're mine. I'm claiming you. I love you. I love you. Worship. There's this. There's this one passage, and I believe it's in Ephesians, but God talks about singing spiritual songs and making melody in your heart to the Lord. It's part of worship, too. Some of you are going to leave here, and you're not going to have the piano, and you're not going to have the worship leaders. You're not going to have this environment in you, and you're going to be all by yourself. And I want you to literally just begin to sing to the Lord.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Don't worry about your voice.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
It's you and the Lord anyway.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
And to him, it's going to be beautiful.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
It comes from the heart. And I want you to just. Just start singing.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Just.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Just make up songs about God's love, about his faithfulness. Something's going to happen in your soul as you do it. Yeah. Sing a new song unto the Lord. Be your own worship leader. Be your own worship leader.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Come on. If you're here and you want to say yes to the Lord, I want to pray for you. Something's going to happen, and he's going to give you his spirit. He's going to give you of his spirit. Come on.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
You're loved.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Your soul needs this. Come on, come on, come on, come on. Your soul needs this. It needs this. It needs this. It needs this. It needs this. Come on.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Listening. Come on, come on, come on. Your soul needs this. God's gonna do a wonder in your soul. He's gonna do a wonder in your soul. No more distance. No more distance. No more distance. Jesus tore the veil. No more distance. No more hiding. No more running. No more shame. No more confusion. Today, this day, this day. I just want to listen. Just want to listen. I steward this right. He restoreth my soul. Man, ain't nothing like a restored soul. It's Better than a vacation. It's better than a million dollars. And nothing like a restored soul. I got you hear the Lord saying, where you are is not where you will always be. And your portion will not be tears forever. I'm going to turn your mourning into dancing. I'm going to turn your weeping into joy. I'm going to turn it. I'm going to turn it. I'm going to turn it. I'm going to turn it. I'm going to turn it. I'm going to give you double for your trouble.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Double for your trouble.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Double for your trouble. Double. Double for your trouble. For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. I got a future in store and we're going to do this thing forever. Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will uphold you. By my righteous right hand. I've got you.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Don't you run from me. Run to me. I am your savior. I am your maker. I am your king. I am your redeemer. I will fight for you. I will give men for you. No weapon formed against you will prosper. When you go to the fires, I'll be with you. And through the rivers they will not overflow you. I am your God. I will shut the mouths of lions on your behalf. You will not smell like smoke even when you go through the fire. Even when you go through the flood. I will raise up a stand concerning you. You belong to me. A thousand might fall at your side and 10,000 at your right hand. But it will not come near you.
Worship Leader
Why?
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Because you've made the Lord, the righteous Lord. Your secret place. I've got you. He who dwells in the secret place
Worship Leader
of the most High God shall abide under the shadow of.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Of the Almighty. I got you. I will be your covering. I will whisper in your ear, this is the way.
Worship Leader
Walk in it.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
I will fight for you.
Worship Leader
When it fights against you, it is fighting against me.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
I will bless those who bless you. And I will curse those who curse you. I'm a covenant keeping God. I got your back. So go ahead and draw near. Go ahead and come close. Let's get this party started. Go ahead and get filled with me. Let's get filled with the Holy Ghost. Let's embrace our calling and embrace our purpose.
Worship Leader
And let's walk this thing out.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Baby.
Worship Leader
I have already ordered your steps. You are good to go. You are good to go. You are good to go. Now. Just worship me. Just worship me. Just worship me and watch Me work, You worship. I work. You worship. I work. You abide. I provide. You plant yourself. I'll bring forth fruit. Do me a favor. Open your mouth and just begin to worship your God. Hallelujah. God's making covenants at this altar. He's making covenants at this altar. He's renewing covenants at this altar. You'll never be the same again. Worship me and then watch me. Worship me and then watch me. Don't you remember Jehoshaphat? The enemy came against him and his army. And he didn't know what to do. He prayed and the Lord said, you don't have to fight. Just send the worshipers and while they worship, I'll cause you to win. I feel the Holy Ghost. I wish I had about 2500 worshipers. Radical praising worship people. While you're worshiping, God is warring. While you're worshiping, he's warring on your behalf. Hallelujah. Lift up your head oh ye gates and be ye lifted. Up you ancient doors and the king of glory shall come in. Hallelujah. Yes, I'm a God of love. But I'm also a God of war. I will fight for you. Just worship, worship. Watch me work. Worship, work. Worship war. You worship, you win.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Something's happening. Something happening.
Worship Leader
So you thought that worship was weakness? No, baby, worship is wisdom. Wisdom. I feel that for somebody. While you're worshiping, God is releasing angels. While you're worshiping, God is healing. While you're worshiping, God is restoring. While you're worshiping, God is renewing. He's renewing. Come on. I'm a worshiper. I'm a worshiper. I'm a worship my way through this. I'm a worship my way out of this. I'm a worship my way. He will heal me. He will lead me. Come on, come on, come on. God say I'm gonna touch you right now. I'm gonna touch you right now. Right now. Right now. I'm touching you right now. I'm touching you right now. I'm touching you right now. I'm touching you right now. Touching you right now. Right now. I'm touching you. Cause I love you. Cause I'm for you. Cause I got your back. I'm touching you right now. I'm touching you right now. You say God, if you would just touch me, I'll be alright. Well touch you I do touch you I do touch you I do touch you I do. I'm for you, I'm not against you. I'm for you. I'm for you. I'm for you. I'm for you. I'm for you. I'm for you. I got you. I set my love upon you. You belong to me. You belong to me. All souls of mine, says the Lord. Bless the Lord. Hold my soul and all that is within me. Rish. Bless the Lord, Lord. I'm touching you. Cause I love you. I'm touching you Cause I'm for you. Bless you. Bless you. Bless you. Bless you. Bless you. Bless you. Bless you. Bless you. Bless you. Bless you. Bless you. Bless you. Hey. Bless you. Bless you. Bless you.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
You.
Worship Leader
Blessed in the city, blessed in the country. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Ha. All you gotta do is worship. All you gotta do is worship. That's it. I will touch you. I will strengthen you. Huh? I'm for you, daughter. I got your back, daughter. I've seen your tears. There hasn't been a tear that have come out of your eyes that I didn't see. I count them. And I'mma tell you right now, your ladder shall be greater than your former. When I get finished with you, you're going to recognize that the sufferings that you endured are not even worthy to be compared to the glory that I
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
am perfecting in you.
Worship Leader
Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. Just worship me. Just worship me. Don't try to figure me out. Just worship. Worship me. Just worship me. Just worship. Just worship, huh? Just worship. Just worship. I love you. I don't know how to do nothing but love you. I am love for you. Hallelujah. Blessings. Blessings. Blessings. Blessings. Blessings. Blessings. Blessings. Blessings. Blessings. Blessings. Blessings. Blessings. Blessings. Blessings. Blessings. Blessings. Blessings. Blessings. Bless. I'm marking you. Blessings. Blessings. Blessings. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I love you. Be not dismayed. I love you, says God. I've always loved you. Before you were born, I loved you. I loved you when you were a little girl. I loved you when you were a teenager. I loved you when you thought I wasn't there. I was there. I am your God and I've got your back and I'm ordering your steps. Just worship me. Just worship me. Just worship me.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
And watch me work.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
And watch me work. I'm renewing your confidence in me.
Worship Leader
I know we've been through some stuff,
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
but we ain't finished. I, who have begun to get work in you, says the Lord. I'm gonna finish it. I'm gonna finish it. You didn't start it, and you're not the one that has to finish it. God is saying, I am faithful to complete What I started in.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
You watch me work.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
All you gotta do is worship. All you gotta do. And when you worship, healing is gonna come. And when you worship, reminder of God's faithfulness is gonna come and there's gonna be a restoration. Because you're called. You're called and you know it. You've always been different.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
You're called.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
If I was the enemy, I would want you to. To come short of the plan that God has. God said, I won't let you quit. I won't let you give. I'll call you out.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
I'll.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
I'll call you. I'll single you out because I love you. And it's about to get real good. I know it's been challenging, I know it's been difficult, but you made it. You made it. Sometimes just making it is my goodness. But it's going to get real good and you're going to start flowing in me and it's going to be powerful. And watch the doors I open and watch the doors I close. And if I close the door, don't go back to it. Don't go back to it. God not only opens doors, but he closes doors. He says, I'm the beginning and I'm also the end. As that door closes, don't go beating it down. Cuz everything that is for you is
Bishop T.D. Jakes
in front of you. It's that way. It ain't that way. It's that way. That way. It's that way.
Worship Leader
Well, Jesus.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
So, Lord, not by might nor by
Bishop T.D. Jakes
power, but by your spirit. Do a work in every soul under the sound of my voice. Every soul under the sound of. Do a work. Do a work. Sovereign work. Sovereign work that only you can do. Sovereign work in the soul, evidenced by liberty and freedom and renewal and strength. Do it. Do it in every heart, every soul.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Thank you, God.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
I can't think of any spiritual discipline, Not prayer. Although I pray a whole lot without ceasing, not meditating on the Word. And I do it every single day. I can't think of one spiritual discipline that has had more of an impact on everything concerning my life than worship. Worship is one on one. Dad talked about it. Bishop. It's one on one, even though we're in the collective. True worship is a collective of individuals that have opened up their soul to the love of their soul. The one who fashioned it, who formed it, who knows it, who sees it, who gets it, therefore has the power to restore it. And that happens through worship. Be intentional about it. Create space for it. Create environments for it. If Morning is your time. Go to bed earlier. I'm in bed by 8:30, 9 o' clock most nights. Not because there aren't things that I want to do, is because I'm serious about my worship time. Are you tracking with me?
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Prepare you a little boat.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
What's your little boat? And notice he didn't prepare it after he prepared it beforehand. He already made provision for his soul. Because life will crush you without an escape to worship. And when you get there, know God loves you.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
No performance.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Sometimes you don't even have to talk. Just get there and just get open. Here I am. And the physical expression works. There's something about it. The. The body, the physical is a representation of the spiritual. Lay down, lay out, prostrate. Get low. Envision the throne. Read Revelation 4 and 5. Join in with the angels and the elders. Why is it there? It's telling you how to do it. Envision it. God will show you you can worship. Watch this and go from being in your living room into the throne room,
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
your car
Bishop T.D. Jakes
into the throne room, the bathroom at work, in a stall, into the throne room.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Go in the bathroom. Frustrated? Come out with the joy of the Lord.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
So Father, we thank you for this time together. I thank you for the privilege of sharing a few thoughts that will bless and help your beloved creation. I thank you that your word will not return into you void, but it shall accomplish that for which it has been established. I thank you for the tool, the strategy, the wisdom that you've given to your sons and daughters. I thank you that their souls will prosper. That they will prosper from the inside out. And that work that you do in their soul, no man can disrupt, no enemy can steal. It is a sacred place, a sovereign place. A holy place. Seal this work. And I pray that we would become prolific guardians of our souls. That we would be devout. That we wouldn't just receive anything and everything, but that we would guard and protect the most precious part of who we are. And Father, I pray that they would know your love in a way unlike ever before. That they would feel that rich agape that literally drives out all fear to the effect of a flourishing unlike anything they've ever experienced. A flourishing. Flourish. Come here, daughter. Flourish. Flourish. Come here. Come here.
Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
Come here.
Bishop T.D. Jakes
Flourish. Flourish. Flourish. As your soul prospers. As your soul prospers. As your soul prospers. God says, I got you. I got you. You will never be by yourself. Even when you thought you were by yourself, you were not. You were seen, you were known. You were loved. And you were accompanied. I'll never leave you nor forsake you. I got you now. Flourish. Now just flourish. You ain't got to try to be. You ain't got to wanna be. You ain't gotta pretend to be. Just be loved and flourish. Be loved and flourish and worship is your strategy. And everything you need will emerge from your worship. Okay, So God, I give you these, your sons and daughters. Seal this work and let this be the beginning, the floor revelation of healing power and clarity. Please repeat after me. Heavenly Father, I thank you for your love. I feel it. Heavenly Father, I thank you for the words you spoke. I receive them, I open up to you. I bear my soul because I trust you. Thank you for loving me deeply, richly, abundantly, unconditionally. I'm safe in you. I thank you for Jesus. Thank you for making him who had no sin all of mine, all of my weakness, all of my limitation, all of my shortcomings, all of my brokenness, all of my pain. Everything that ever happened to me, everything I ever did, you placed in his body,

Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts
I claim my victory. I claim my future. I claim your plan for my life. I claim my destiny. It is awesome, unstoppable, unmovable, uncharted, unshakable.
