at something that I had never seen before until the other day in Mark, chapter three, a little truth, a nugget of wisdom hidden in the midst of great miracles. Mark 3, beginning at verse 7, says,

Amen. God bless you. God keep you is my prayer. Last week we started our conversation by me trying to transparently acknowledging that I am not a subject matter expert on the subject of the soul. I would never purport myself to be that, but that I am a journey mate with you trying to figure this thing called life out. No one but God has all the answers, and that's why it is critical. It's important that we have a relationship with God. Lean on God, depend on God, trust God and walk with God, because we will learn as we go. But it was very, very clear to me that God was calling our attention to a part of us that is often neglected. And that part of us Is our soul. We talked about how the other aspects of us, our mind, our body, even our spirit is a bit more accessible and easy to recognize and to identify and therefore gets a response from us in gets attention from us because it

We have a consciousness of mind, a consciousness of our bodies, obviously and even a consciousness that we are spirit beings. But the soul is a little deeper. It is the deepest part of who we are. And it is not only deep and hard to realize and hard to access,

but it is very impressionable. Things that happen to you in life, they happen to your soul.

Your soul is impressionable. It's delicate.

And it's supposed to be because you were created in the environment, in the safe environment of God. There were no threats there. And so your soul could be impressionable. God being the only one to shape you and form you. So it's okay with it being. It's almost like the scripture talks about husbands, dwell with your wives.

According to the weaker vessel is how King James translated.

A better translation is a delicate vessel. Does it mean that. That there's something wrong?

It just means that you are like fine china.

It speaks to your worth.

It speaks to it being delicate. So the soul is very much like that. It is impressionable. I mentioned last week that when I was 16 years old, I got caught up in a drive by in Los Angeles and I was shot and. And my body healed in months. It took my soul decades to heal. And the craziest part about it was I didn't even know it was wounded.

The bodily wound was obvious, the soul wound was not. And I didn't figure it out until later on. Watch this. I started showing up differently because I had been shaped by what shaped my soul. So. So we learned that. That according to the health of your soul determines the output of your life.

So who you are showing up as right now is a reflection of the shaping of your soul. In the book Knowing, I have a

So it seems like this is just who you are. And that's not that. That's only half true. It is just who you are. But who you are is a result of the shaping that you've experienced in your life, the shaping of your soul. Which means that we have to pay attention, we have to locate the soul and we have to pay attention to the soul. Because if we don't deal with the soul, the soul will deal with Us

And so we looked at third John and what the writer was saying. And the writer was not putting the, the prosperity of our lives and our

health, the forward progress of our lives and our healths.

He wasn't putting that in equal posture to the soul. He wasn't doing that. He was really talking about the soul and he was trying to help us to understand that if our soul does

well, our life will do well.

And I'm, I'm thinking about the times

that we're in right now.

And let me just say it plainly. The body was not created, was not wired to experience this much chaos. I, I know that, that certain things have been normalized because we're getting a little anesthetized to things because they happen so frequently. It used to be, we used to

by what people say or do. Now we almost have come to expect cray cray. And hear me clearly, family, that's not normal. Our intake, the intake that we constantly and consistently receive and take in, it is wowed. And it is affecting us in ways we don't even realize because it's been normalized. brain a little bit?

The brain is wired for predictability. It craves, it longs for predictability. And when the mind can no longer predict what's next, it goes into a fight or flight type of state. And the part of your brain that is what is used for creativity and progress shuts down. And the other part of your brain that is for protection turns on. Now imagine years and years, weeks and weeks, scenario after scenario of watch this. Of chaos that puts you in a place where you can no longer predict peace. You don't know what's going to happen. This is the state of the human being right now. And that state does not naturally or organically bring forth the best version of us. That's why we have decision fatigue.

Should I stay or should I go?

Should I start the company or should

Because. Because. Because your system is short circuiting. And watch this. Either you do nothing or you move in fear and do something irrational. Are you tracking with me? So here's what I'm saying. I'm saying we're not doing as good as we think we are. And the beauty about the opportunity to have a healthy soul is when you have a healthy soul, it becomes an anchor. Whereby we are no longer tossed to

So last week, last week I introduced the concept that was to compel us

to recognize the soul, to recognize that we have one, and to be intentional

about taking care of the soul.

That's where we left off.

We learned last week that you cannot tend to your soul with any old thing. The soul is unique and distinct. We looked at the scripture in Hebrews 4:12, where it talked about how, when it's talking about how powerful and dynamic the word of God is, talked about how it's so quick, alive and powerful, and it's sharper than any two edged sword that it divides asunder soul and spirit. In other words, it draws a line of demarcation between soul and spirit, meaning that this is a very fine line, hard to tell where one stops and the other begins and vice versa. And yet he doesn't say that everything else is going to prosper when your spirit prospers, he says, when your soul prospers, that's when everything else is going to prosper. So last week we talked about that. We drew to the best of our ability the distinction between the spirit and, and the soul because we needed to separate the soul out. Because the soul, what the soul needs, is different from what the spirit, the

mind and the body needs.

And the soul needs God. God is the only one, come on. Who can restore the soul. David said in Psalm 23, the Lord is my shepherd and he goes down the list of all the things that the shepherd does. He leads me beside the still waters. And that's wonderful. But guess what? A good tour guide could lead you beside the still waters. Don't play with me, he says. Your rod and your staff, they cover me, they protect me. But a good pastor or a good father or a good mother can, can whip out the rod and the staff

and guide you and protect you.

Don't play with me, he says, you anoint my head with oil and somebody can go pull a jar out in the back right now. And Torre Roberts can anoint your head with oil. But he says something in that context that only God can do. He says, you restoreth my soul. That sets God apart from anything and everything, because the only one that can do your soul good is Jesus. Are you tracking with me today? And that word, we're going somewhere. And that word that was translated restore, that's a great translation, but it literally means to turn back. It is almost as if God knew that there were going to be some things that happens to our souls, that misfigures, that disfigures Our soul. And we were going to need a savior to reshape and to reform our souls into its original shape so that we can be fruitful and multiply and show up. Watch this. And show up in life the way we are supposed to, because you cannot show up behind beyond how your soul is shaped. We talked last week. I'm almost into this week. We talked last week about how much of what we are taught compels us to try to fix our problems at the fruit level. This is how you have a good relationship. This is how you make more money. This is how you do this. Very few are talking about the reality that what determines the fruit is the root. I don't fix my fruit

level of my output. I fix my output at the place of my input because my input determines my output. And so we talked about how God equates us often in scripture to trees. How many places has he said, and you shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season whose leaf will not wither, and whatever he does shall prosper. And so what we're doing, we miss. Oftentimes we think about the. The tree prospering. We think about the fruit, and we think about the leaves not withering. But you missed it. He said, you're like a tree planted by the rivers of water. In other words, if you are not planted by the rivers of water, you not going to bring forth fruit and you're not going to bring forth it consistently.

I feel this for somebody.

I hear this clearly. I just want to say it.

It's a root problem.

You think it's a fruit problem, but it's a root.

Oh, I feel the Holy Ghost.

Somebody's getting ready to get restored. Somebody's getting ready to get reconnected. Somebody got detached from the vine. You thought that you were the vine. No, baby, you're not the vine. You are the branch. He says, abide in me. If you abide in me.

Abide your job. Watch this.

Your job is not even to bear fruit.

Your job is to get good at abiding mission. Talk about a master class. Master abiding in him. Master keeping your roots in the river. If you master keeping your roots in the river, fruit is going to come automatically.

is like the roots, and the river is like God. And as the tree is healthy, then Its expression is healthy. We marvel at the tree. Oh, that's such a beautiful tree. And look at those lovely plants and look at those lovely flowers. And look at the fruit.

Oh, my God, that's so beautiful. What you need to be looking at

is what's happening underground. That's what you need to be marveling at, because that's.

it necessitates a new level of intentionality concerning my soul. Are you tracking with me? And so let's talk about that.

When it comes to the maintenance of the soul, and I'm going to truncate

this, it isn't as much about labor

or as much about you doing as

it is you doing.

Two things. One, regulating and receiving. Okay, so.

So if I'm going to be a good steward over my soul, then I'm going to have to be a very intentional human being because my soul is impressionable.

We mentioned it. It's shaped and impacted by what it receives. There's this word in the New Testament, and this word was attributed to. I believe it was Simeon in the Book of Acts. Read your whole Bible. You'll find it. Right, but this word was devout. It was translated. It was a Greek word, and it was translated into the English word devout. And I believe it was about Simeon. He was a devout man. Right.

But if you look up that word,

it is comprised of two words. One means to take, the other means well.

So that word literally means to take.

So to be devout or to be one who takes good care of their soul, understanding that their soul is a receiver and it is impressionable. It is the individual that is very intentional about what they take.

It is the individual that's intentional about what they receive. I don't just receive anything. I don't just put myself in any circumstance and situation because I've got a soul to protect. I don't go anywhere, I don't watch anything. I'm careful about what I put and feed into my spirit and into my soul because I'm protecting something. Because I realize as goes my soul, so goes me. We've got to be a little bit more devout. So I was thinking about Jesus in that text back in Mark 3, the disciples. He's moving with the disciples

and he's

healing, he's preaching and he's driving out devils and he's doing all of that. And in the midst of all of that, he whispers to his disciples and

he says, get a boat ready.

And he doesn't just say get a boat ready. He says, get. Watch this. He says, get a small boat ready. A boat so small that even though I love you disciples, you can't fit in it. Watch this. He's working, he's moving, he's doing all that he knows to do. But he already has a strategy to escape in order to keep himself from being crushed. I believe that it's not just being crushed physically. I believe he's talking about protecting his soul. I can't be Jesus without protecting my soul. And that's why you would see him still away often. You would see him either steal to the sea or you would see him steal to the mountains or he would get up early.

Why?

Because he was protecting his soul. Because he was exposed to anything and everything and he understood in his humanity that he has to protect this thing. And as an example, some of you literally need to have a little boat somewhere. And your friends can't fit in that boat and your kids can't fit in that boat. Come on, somebody. And as much as you love your spouse, your spouse can't fit in that boat. Because as wonderful as they are, they cannot help your soul. You need to have an escape. There is an accuracy that we are going to have to move in during these times. A clarity. Why do you think I've been talking about clarity? You don't think I want me a big old fat piece of chocolate cake right now? Because there is an act, there is an accuracy that if you have it, it's going to set you apart and you're going to go from being the tail to the head overnight because you're going to see clearly and you're going to be further down the road than everybody. What does the soul need to return? To turn back? To be restored? What does the soul need? The soul needs agape.

know, I know most of you do. Agape is God's love. It's God's love. It's unshakable. It is not dependent upon the actions of the subject upon which it is set. It just is.

It is not flexible, it doesn't bend, it doesn't. It's not diminished when it is not reciprocated. It is static, it is standard. It is settled. It is it. It's unshakable. It can't go anywhere. When Paul talks about how in Ephesians, I believe it's Ephesians chapter three. When he talks about my prayer, he says my prayer. One guy's praying, as he calls you beloved, that your soul would prosper and that everything else will prosper. Another guy, Paul, is praying that the eyes of your understanding might be enlightened and ultimately that you might know what is the width, the left, the height, the depth to know the love of Christ which passes all knowledge. Watch this. That you might be filled with all the fullness of God. In other words, he's saying that this God love, this agape, is so powerful and it's so amazing and it is so wonderful that if you get a revelation of it, you will literally be filled with all, all the fullness of God. This is what he says. In another place, John, the writer says perfect love. He talks about God's love being perfect love. It says, he who has not been made perfect in God's love fears. In other words, this love is so very powerful, Dr. Sabrina is so powerful that it is impossible for you to fear and have a revelation of God's love simultaneously. There's no space for fear in this radical, radical love. Imagine that. Let's talk imagine that for a second. Imagine not fearing. Imagine in the scariest moment of your life, whatever it might be, you got some sort of prognosis, something's going on, there's a threat in front of you. Imagine you not even being able to access fear. Think about the scariest thing in your life. The Bible says if you mature, if you grow up in your understanding of God's love, you literally will not fear. And while you're growing, it says, and this perfect love casts out fear. It literally, when you have a revelation of it and you live in it and you walk in it, it will literally evict fear from your life. Fear cannot hang up in the environment. Ah, environment. Cannot hang out in the environment of God's love. The Bible doesn't say that God has love. Hear Me. Clearly it doesn't say that God has love. That God has love for you. The Bible says that God is love. Watch this.

So when I am in the consciousness of God's presence, I come into the consciousness, his love. And his love heals me and it makes me whole. And when I'm healed and whole. Watch this. Now I can begin to trust my thoughts. Because the way that I think, Dana, when I am fearful is different from the way that I think. When I know I'm loved, when I know I'm loved, I get bold.

You are settled. You don't have to hold. No offense. You don't have to be mad at anybody. I am rich in love.

I hand out forgiveness all day. See, you don't forgive when you feel like somebody took something from you that you can't get back. Unforgiveness is a poverty mindset. I can't give you forgiveness because what you did to me has permanently damaged me.

But the devil is a liar. All I need, need is to know that God loves me. All that I need is to know that God has got my back. I am rich in love, baby and it ain't nothing that you did to me that can stop me. For God knows the plan.

See, see, see, My soul thrives off of agape because it was fashioned in the context of agape. So my soul is trying to get back to love. My soul is trying to get back

to a place where I was naked and unashamed. I wasn't trying to pretend that I was something that I wasn't because my soul knew that it was love just the way it is.

I feel this for somebody. I said it last week. But there's some of you. We hadn't even seen you yet because you've been like Adam, hiding behind the stuff because you didn't have a revelation

about how God feels about you. You thought that you were so wrong about what you did or what you've been through that you thought you, you had to try to cover yourself. You couldn't even worship. You couldn't even give God your everything because you felt like he couldn't handle it. And I hear God saying, don't try to cover yourself with fig leaves. I see it anyway. Worship me. I am your covering. My love will cover you. Ain't that the Bible? Love covers a multitude of sins. I got you. I got you. Just let me love on you, baby. Just let me love on you. You've been searching high and low for love when all you had to do was worship. Let me in there. I hear the Lord saying. Let me in there. Let me into your soul. Let me into your heart. Let me into your mind. I will deliver you. The soul.

then that brings us to worship. It brings us to worship. I didn't, I didn't know until about, I don't know, maybe 20 years ago. So what worship really was? I thought that worship was church. I thought that coming to church was worship. I thought that singing a song was worship. As I mentioned last week, singing can be a part of your worship, but singing is not worship. Worship. Because the soul, the soul is a receiver. It's a receiver. God is a filler. God is a filler. Soul is a receiver. That's why it's impressionable. Think about it. Okay, so God breathed the breath of life into man and at that point he becomes a living soul. So the soul was formed in reception. It's a receiver. God is a filler. He's a filler. He feels, all in all. So. So, so. So when I worship, worship is me opening my soul. To receive from God. Worship is not for God.

He doesn't need worship. And if he did, Aunt Jackie did. The elders are around the throne right now. They rest not night nor day. And they're giving perfect worship, beholding him. So worship is not for God. We're not doing God a favor.

God is not in heaven with low self esteem and abandonment issues, wishing that his creation would somehow praise Him.

God is whole, it's complete, needs nothing. So if worship is not for God, who is it for? It's for me. And so I'm going to make this plain and we'll be finished. So worship is. Watch this. You feeling safe enough to say, here I am. All of me. I Ain't hiding nothing. Watch this. The lie in trying to hide from God is obvious. You can't. You can't. With just glasses, you can't.

So. And he ain't believing the lie. So you are the only one being.

Somebody needs to even bring that before the Lord because that, excuse me, that won't get healed in hiding. You worship, but you don't worship fully because you don't believe that God can handle that. And you avoid. You avoid worship. You worship like this. Hallelujah. Look at this. Hallelujah. As a physical expression of blocking your soul from getting the love that it needs. To be delivered. Where do I want to go? Agape is the love language of the soul. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifest that he might destroy the works of the devil. I'm telling you, there are times where the worship team has led us into the consciousness of God's presence so powerfully that I dare not preach because I know that the truth of the matter is you can worship your way into freedom. I know that to be true.

You can worship your way into healing. You can worship your way into deliverance. You can worship your way into direction.

We don't know what the future holds. We don't even know if we'll be able to meet like this forever.

So what we have to cultivate. Is a lifestyle of true worship. Okay? My soul. My soul needs me to be intentional about the environments that I put it in. Jesus went off to the sea sometimes. Sometimes he went off to the mountains. You have to figure out what environments nourish your soul. Sometimes the environment is the time of day. If you know that if you get up at 3 in the morning, for whatever reason, the environment conducive to a real encounter with the Lord. Get up at 3 in the morning, go to bed at 7pm if you can. It's that important. I think I'm there. Hold on. So let me give you some directives for worship. First of all, we got to be vulnerable. Naked and unashamed is your portion. Guess what? Shame is not from God. God will never shame you. He will never shame you. You know, you hear people say, you know what?

I've seen it all.

No, God has seen it all. And God can honestly and legitimately say, I have seen it all and yet I still love you. And my love for you is not diminished, not even one little bit. So now it becomes prideful to not forgive yourself because that is to suggest

that you're smarter than God or somehow you're more righteous than God to hold yourself to something that God says.

I've thrown into the sea of forgetfulness

for my own sake in order for

me to be God.

I don't remember it.

I don't even retain it. So if God doesn't retain it, why do we? So number one is I gotta be vulnerable. And isn't it a blessing that you actually have somebody that you can be vulnerable to? God, here I am, here's what I did, here's what I thought, here's what I tried to do, but it didn't work. Vulnerability, naked and unashamed. I'm not saying you boast in your foolishness. I'm just saying that you're honest. God, here it is, vulnerable, open. Take a look, check it out. Honest. Honest before you, God, not lying. I'm telling you the truth again. Isn't it a blessing that you can tell the truth? God, I'm jealous. God, I'm envious. God, I've got these feelings rising up. See, he can't heal what you cover because there's no agreement. The word confess in the Greek is from two words, homo logeo, homo same, logeo to speak. So to confess is to speak the same thing, he says. And when you homologeo your sins, he's faithful and just not only to forgive but to cleanse. So when there is agreement, when God, when we're saying the same things, that power of agreement is what releases the breakthrough. Are we tracking humble? I'm coming before you, God, Grateful that I can.

I'm not coming to you.

This drives me crazy. This loose spirit of self righteousness in the church. It's just trying. It's like God, Lord Jesus. Perfect example of how we should come before the lord is Luke 18. Two people go to pray. I'm almost done. Two people go to pray. One is a Pharisee, talks about all the stuff that he's doing right and

then he starts talking about what the

next person is doing wrong. One of the translations, he actually thanks God that he's not like the sinner standing next to him. That's like some of these preachers in church today, they're patting themselves on the back and talking about other preachers. That is the most antichrist thing you can do. And so the two box, but the two. Okay, the Pharisee does all that stuff. Oh God, I'm so thank you that I'm this and I'm that and I'm thank you that I'm sure. Not like that old raggedy sucking so and so right here. And that little raggedy something there, raggedy something so and so right there. Wouldn't even lift up his eyes. He didn't have no long, articulate prayer. It wasn't eloquent. The Bible says he just smote his breast. He beat on his breast, wouldn't even look up and said, God, be merciful unto me, for I am a sinner. And the Bible says that him, the old raggedy one, quote, unquote, went back to his house, justified over the self righteous one. And then God says, he who humbles himself. So we come to the Lord humble, recognizing that if it had not been for him on my side, there was no good deed that you could have done. Humble, hungry, desperate for you, convinced in his love. I want to do a little praying. I want to say this. Before you do anything, worship before you even pray, worship. By the time you finish worshiping, you have direction on what to pray. Or by the time you finish worshiping,

Because the Lord has already affirmed you and validated you and spoke truth to you. That's why in the model prayer, when the disciples said, lord, teach me how to pray, he said, I'm gonna show

you how to pray. He says, our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

He said, worship first. Then you start asking, watch this before

you read your word.

Worship. Because you don't know what's in your. Your soul, in your Shondo. And you might be determining, trying to determine whether or not you ought to kill somebody. And you open up the Bible and

it says, grab your son Isaac and get a knife.

You be like, that's my sign.

No, it ain't.

I can't think of any spiritual discipline, Not prayer. Although I pray a whole lot without ceasing, not meditating on the Word. And I do it every single day. I can't think of one spiritual discipline that has had more of an impact on everything concerning my life than worship. Worship is one on one. Dad talked about it. Bishop. It's one on one, even though we're in the collective. True worship is a collective of individuals that have opened up their soul to the love of their soul. The one who fashioned it, who formed it, who knows it, who sees it, who gets it, therefore has the power to restore it. And that happens through worship. Be intentional about it. Create space for it. Create environments for it. If Morning is your time. Go to bed earlier. I'm in bed by 8:30, 9 o' clock most nights. Not because there aren't things that I want to do, is because I'm serious about my worship time. Are you tracking with me?

What's your little boat? And notice he didn't prepare it after he prepared it beforehand. He already made provision for his soul. Because life will crush you without an escape to worship. And when you get there, know God loves you.

Sometimes you don't even have to talk. Just get there and just get open. Here I am. And the physical expression works. There's something about it. The. The body, the physical is a representation of the spiritual. Lay down, lay out, prostrate. Get low. Envision the throne. Read Revelation 4 and 5. Join in with the angels and the elders. Why is it there? It's telling you how to do it. Envision it. God will show you you can worship. Watch this and go from being in your living room into the throne room,

So Father, we thank you for this time together. I thank you for the privilege of sharing a few thoughts that will bless and help your beloved creation. I thank you that your word will not return into you void, but it shall accomplish that for which it has been established. I thank you for the tool, the strategy, the wisdom that you've given to your sons and daughters. I thank you that their souls will prosper. That they will prosper from the inside out. And that work that you do in their soul, no man can disrupt, no enemy can steal. It is a sacred place, a sovereign place. A holy place. Seal this work. And I pray that we would become prolific guardians of our souls. That we would be devout. That we wouldn't just receive anything and everything, but that we would guard and protect the most precious part of who we are. And Father, I pray that they would know your love in a way unlike ever before.
