Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Welcome to Walk It Out Wednesday. Did we not hear a word of charge? Rebuke training development on Sunday from Pastor Keon Henderson. Can you give God glory, honor and praise for one of the sons of the house? I told Pastor Keon the back. I've known him a long time I said, you a mass murderer. He killed it. As we approach God's word tonight, we're in the book of Acts. Can. Can you give God glory for the book of Acts? We gave you a little homework, so I'm assuming you read the rest of Acts, chapter number five. We're gonna dig into Acts, chapter number six, but I need you to give a standing ovation to Dr. Val. Come on, give it up. Jake's divinity school, Leading elders, ministers. I don't know what she can't do. Sing, preach, prophesy. Can you give it up for Pastor Dunn? We stole him from the sunshine state of Florida, and now he got the nerve to complain about this Texas heat. Well, I tell you. People, People, y' all might be seated. Y' all might be seated.
Pastor Don
Before we start, you. You use the word recovery. She's in recovery. And I just decided to look up the word recovery, not just from a health standpoint, but from an economic standpoint. And the word recovery literally means. It refers to a period of expansion and revitalization following a recession. I don't know who that's for today, but God said, I'm about me expand you. And this about to be a season of revitalization after a recession. Not a recession just in your money, but a recession in your. Your mind. I. I don't know who that's for today, but when you said recovery, that thing made my baby leap. I said God said, look it up. He said, it's not just after a health thing. It is the expansion. Somebody's about to be expanded. I don't know who that's for today. There's expansion is going to hit your home. And a season of revitalization after a bad recession. You going to recover as though you lost nothing.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
All right, I was trying. Pt. If you're watching, it's. It's my dog over here. It's not me. One of the things that we miss on recovering is that you keep wanting what you had in the past. And God says, I'm not just going to give you what you had in the past. It's going to be exceedingly, abundantly, above all. So the full recovery is not just what you had, but it's catatronically pushing you into a cataclysmic realm spiritually where you get everything you should have had at the age you should have had.
Dr. Val
It
Pastor Don
say that. That's so good.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
This means that you've been saying, I'm too old. I'm not sure. Some of you been saying I'm too Young. No, no, no, no, no. You are right on time.
Pastor Don
Yeah.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
And so, as we dig into the Book of Acts tonight, we're going to start at chapter number six. We will see how many chapters we get through our theme.
Pastor Don
It's going to be hard.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
It's going to be hard. Incidentally, our theme is growing through pressure, because the church grew through pressure. And here's the issue. The ground wants to help produce fruit, which means it's got to open itself up for seed in order to germinate the tree. And you keep asking for expansion without pressure. So we're going to walk through God's word. As we read in Acts, chapter number six, we're getting ready to see the expansion of the church as it relates to order, business, clarity, and the full design of what God was structuring in the business.
Pastor Don
Do you realize sometimes we're looking for expansion without breaking? You want to put seed in the ground, but you can't put seed in the ground where the ground isn't broken. So breaking is a part of the prerequisite of the harvest. So maybe you being broke, and I don't mean financially, I mean broken is step one to harvest. So you want to get to harvest before you get to broken, when broken is a part of the harvest. I've noticed this in these Texas grounds, while this farmland is that there's a tilling of the ground before there's a planting of the seed. And we want the harvest to grow without God first breaking up the ground, not understanding that. We want the price, but not the process.
Dr. Val
And to that point, see, I was trying.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Y' all go ahead, Dr. Fowler. See, she been nudging me underneath the table. Just joking.
Dr. Val
And to that point, in Texas, we have a lot of foundation issues. And if we don't keep that broken ground watered, then the structure begins to deteriorate. So when that structure or when that ground is broken, you got to keep it watered, you got to keep it soft, you got to keep it moist so that the structure that's standing on top of it won't begin to decinerate.
Pastor Don
So, Dr. Val, I quit preaching.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
I just. I quit.
Dr. Val
No, no.
Pastor Don
I'm asking the question because I really want to know. So it sounds like if it's. Metaphorically speaking, if the Holy Ghost is the water, then that must mean it must encounter the foundation so that it can't crumble and fall. So we're too busy trying to build foundation without adding the Holy Ghost. Acts chapter two and chapter three.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
The water of His Word.
Pastor Don
The water of his word.
Dr. Val
Listen, y' all messing with me tonight. See, cause expansion only happens when the ground is planted pliable enough for to happen. I know in California, they have the foundations on rollers of some kind so that when there is a. An earthquake or something, it can shift and move with the movement of the ground. You know what I mean? So there. There always has to be some watering, however that watering happens. The Bible says one plants, another waters, but then God gives the increase.
Pastor Don
I love Bible studies.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
So then can I ask a question? Is your heart soft enough to receive? Because I see the water. You know, we can. We can talk real estate all day long. You. You can't eat. You can't erect. Let me just go to. Forget residential. Let's go to commercial. I love skyscrapers. Our downtown building here in the Dallas, you call it the Green building. I believe it's bank of America. It's 921ft tall. But in order to erect that building, they had to go deep underneath the surface in 1982, which meant the ground had to be soft enough. I see the ground as our heart. Sometimes God's trying to get me to a place that I'm too tough for.
Pastor Don
Ooh.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
And my mind is telling me I gotta be tough to make it. Because everything the devil enforced on you in your childhood and in your relationships works antithetical to the process of God's promise, which means that you're actually too hard to be blessed.
Pastor Don
It's a question already.
Dr. Val
We already got questions.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
I tried, y'. All. I tried. This question says, why do things become harder before recovery? What makes you wonder if recovery is ever coming? Delayed gratification. Sometimes I'm mad at other people. Sometimes I'm mad at God. I wish y' all would look at me like I'm the only person in this building who has ever been frustrated with God. But God says, I need you to be soft enough, pliable enough to even be honest enough to say, I'm frustrated. I'm angry. And so sometimes I think that we wonder if recovery is coming because we haven't opened up our heart to actually receive the softness. Because the question is, why do things become harder before recovery? When you are hard, God said, okay, let me show you hard. You want to be hard? Let me match hard with hard.
Dr. Val
If I go back to the foundation or the building, it takes about 40 days to lay a foundation. So when they begin, because you have to first dig the ground, and then you have to lay the material, so it takes about 40 days. I know in these new Times they try to do it quickly. But a true foundation takes about 40 days. So while you're waiting. Because I. I get anxious when I'm building a piece of property. I get anxious. You know, I want it to come up immediately, but it doesn't because it takes time to lay that foundation. So why do things become harder before recovery? Because you're waiting for that foundation to be able to hold whatever you're about to recover. And timing. You about to say that. And timing is everything. So even though it feels like you may be too old for whatever it is that you need to recover, remember, timing is everything. Because if you get it before the foundation is solid, then you're going to lose it.
Pastor Don
When I. When I tell you I was going to almost use the exact words because it says, why do things become harder? Because right now you're looking at present tense, what God is looking at future tense. Cause he knows what he's getting ready to give you. You gonna need harder to hold it. But he gives it to you now, it's gonna collapse. So he takes you through a season of making because he's making you to answer the prayers you've been praying for. So why would he give you something to collapse when he gonna take you through a season that's gonna make you for? Matter of fact, he's preparing you for what you prayed for.
Audience Member/Question Asker
Right?
Dr. Val
Oh, my goodness.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
And this is why those who've been in the home process all while you did the loan application, you think you're waiting on underwriting and everybody else on the back. And I worked for City Mortgage for years. What you don't realize is that land has got to be surveyed.
Pastor Don
Yeah, absolutely.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
So every now and then, I know you wanted to get at this because every now and then God said, let me see. Did she receive what I was telling her? Oh, she too hard. Let me break it up a little bit more. Did he understand what I was telling him? Did he move him out the way so that I could put me in? Oh, they still hard. Let me break it up a little bit.
Pastor Don
Back in Florida, I had opportunity to be a part of a. A joint venture for 40 acres of land. We were going to build some property. And me ignorantly, this is my first deal about 20 years ago. Never done it before. So I thought, hey, all 40 acres of land. So when they did the survey and the architect came, he says, hey, only 27 buildable. I said, you done lost your mind. That's 13 acres. I can't. I'm losing money. He said, no, you don't understand. You can't build on that. That land is protected. So oftentimes God will say, you think you have this much, but I'm giving you enough to be buildable and be satisfied with what's buildable. And stop thinking that the devil's trying to take something from you when I'm trying to get something to you.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Dr. Val, I need you to jump in because I thought, first of all, that was powerful. What I thought about are all the things that you have to lose in order to gain.
Dr. Val
Oh, my.
Pastor Don
Absolutely.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
My wife has this little saying. She said a mother taught it to her years ago and she's been saying IT for almost 25 years. She said, baby, less is more.
Dr. Val
Yeah.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
And sometimes it's the potency of it. So as we approach act.
Pastor Don
Book of Acts, chapter six.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
As we approach the book of Acts, chapter number six, we're right where we need to be, because the structure of the church is being built. And the structure of the church is not just built with pastors and preachers. This is why we need you to serve, to volunteer, to be a part of the process. We don't know it all. This is why we need your opinion, your sweat equity. This is why we need what you think. If we can go to the Book of Acts, chapter number six, I'm going to read a few verses and this will kind of read succinctly and I'll come back and give a summary. Verse number one. But as the believers rapidly multiplied, they were growing. There were rumblings of discontentment among the believers. The Greek speaking believers complained about the Hebrew speaking believers, saying their widows were being discriminated against in the daily distribution of food. So the 12, this is the 12 apostles. They called a meeting of all the believers. They said, hey, we apostles should spend our time teaching and preaching the word of God, not running a food program. We must give ourselves holy to prayer and prophecy. We've got to divide the work up to structure it properly. And so, brothers, they started with men. They started with men so that this could build the strong structure of what the church needed to take care of the families of women and children and. And so much more. And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of spirit, the Spirit of God and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility. Then we apostles can spend our time in prayer and teaching the Word. We can't teach and preach as pastors if we don't have these amazing deacons that are standing before you today. Can we give it up for all the great deacons who serve in this house, from the parking lot to the pulpit, from children's ministry, whether they count money, whether they are security, whether they watch over, whether they give a drink of water, whether they help you with your child. Can we give up for the mighty men of valor who are willing to push back the forces of darkness spiritually and sometimes. Well, y' all said it, I didn't. Everyone liked this idea. Verse number five. And they chose the following. These are the men's name. The men. The men. These are their names. Stephen, a man full of faith, and the Holy Spirit. Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon and Parmenas. And Nicholas of Antioch, an earlier convert to the Jewish faith. These is when verse number six, these seven were presented to the apostles who prayed for them as they laid their hands on them. Deacons are not just deacons because they serve. Deacons are deacons because they fasted, they prayed, they've sought God. We take them through training, rigorous training, serving. They're typically a merit. They serve beyond measure. They have a good report. And then they are ordained, which is coming up now at holy convocation in about two weeks, whereby we train them, we develop them, and then we test them to make sure that hands can be laid so that we're on the same accord.
Pastor Don
Can. Can I. Can they go back to verse number two? Because I want something that's really, really important. If they go back to verse number two, it says, so the twelve call the apostles should spend our time. Here's what we should do. Go to verse. I think it's verse number three. I'm sorry, where it says, select seven brothers who is well respected and full of spirit and wisdom. For them to select that. That means they were already doing it. You don't get a title and did start doing it. Okay, okay. Most people think the title makes them that. So whether it's a deacon, whether it's an elder. No, no, no. You're already doing the work. So the work calls for the title. The title doesn't produce the work. And I think it's important that we establish that in the church. Is that. No, no. They were already respected. They were already full of the Spirit. They already had wisdom. They're not going to get wisdom at holy convocation.
Dr. Val
Can I add to this? Because I want to go to verse two. And I think I'm reading from the ESV. And it says, and the 12 summoned the full number of disciples and the daily distribution. I'm sorry. And the 12 summer summoned the full number of Disciples and said, it is not right that we should give up preaching the word to serve tables. And what I want to say right there is that there are enough people in congregations to help serve.
Pastor Don
Absolutely.
Dr. Val
And preachers do a lot. We don't just.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
I'm sorry. I didn't. I think her mic went out. What'd you say, Dr. Val?
Dr. Val
I said. I said that preachers do a lot. We don't just preach. We serve behind the scenes. So by the time we got here, we're so exhausted from doing what's done behind the scenes. Because we need you to help serve. I think Pastor Keon said it best on Sunday. This is our church. This is the potter's house. We are the potter's house, and we love to have everybody to serve in the house. And like Pastor Don just said, it's not about the title. You get the title. Cause you're doing the work.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Okay. This is what Bishop has already articulated some years ago. For those who know, who know, those who don't. I'm gonna. I'll articulate. I was serving here for 20 years, working in corporate America, sometimes spending more time here than I actually did in corporate America. They had a joke in the office. They said, oh, he's out today. Oh, he's doing a funeral. He's at a hospital visit or he's at a conference somewhere. We had it established that God came first. I've worked the parking lot. I've been on the pulpit. Listen, I've ministered in the hospital. I've been in so many different prisons that I can't even count. This is not about a microphone. I want to warn somebody who wants to run up to this quickly. You will go back limping. Let me tell you something. There are no days off. My wife and I, I even told y' all this. My wife and I were on a call last night to probably almost 1am straightened out a certain a situation. We. We don't tell business that's just in the pocket. I'm just giving an example. You, You.
Dr. Val
You.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
You could be on vacation. This is you. Your child could be sick, but you're in the grocery store and you're having to pray for somebody else's child, believing God that the seed in the. In that prayer is going to heal your child. These men and women of the cloak give it their all. You were. You were on vacation in a meeting we had last week or two. Then I'm. I'm getting on you. I'm like, man, you remind me of me. I'm like, bro, when you gonna take a vacation? Come on. And then God, like you, you, you, the pot calling it kettle black. This is why we need other men and women to jump in and help. Let's go back to verse number seven or reverse.
Dr. Val
Can I say one more?
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Absolutely.
Dr. Val
For those of you that turn your phones off at 10pm I don't know what that means.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Huh? What you're.
Dr. Val
I don't, I don't know.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
There's an off button on the phone.
Dr. Val
I don't know.
Pastor Don
Off button on the phone.
Dr. Val
Me either.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
I got two of these, and they ring constantly.
Dr. Val
They never go off. Oh, my God.
Pastor Don
They go off.
Dr. Val
Oh, they go off, but they don't ever turn off.
Pastor Don
You, you, you said something, I think. And we can see it another way. God is such a businessman.
Dr. Val
Yes, he is.
Pastor Don
God creates a strategy. God creates a plan. He has a business plan. When he creates the world in Genesis, he doesn't create man and then create the world. He creates everything and put the man in it. So even in creating the church, he says, okay, I don't want all of this to fall on the preachers, the apostles. He says, let's create a strategy. So in other words, know your responsibility and just do your role. There is not one greater than the other one.
Dr. Val
Right?
Pastor Don
Serving the food is just as important as serving the food.
Dr. Val
Absolutely.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Man. I, I, I'll tell you some things that I miss. I miss preaching and teaching in Destiny World. I love the kids. I miss firehouse. Sometimes I miss what I didn't have a title. Can we give it up for our elders and ministers? I miss sometimes just sitting right there on that front row, receiving. And I'm asking you to give it up for them. Dr. Val leads them in an amazing charge and way, but I'm giving it up for them because they like me. I know what it's like. Elder Carla, you already know. We serve on the same team together. You work a job, you serve, you come to church, and you do everything you can and you believe God for more.
Dr. Val
Yeah.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
All of this is in the text. We have one question online and one question in the room.
Pastor Don
Oh, my God. That question online.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
We're gonna get one online and we'll come right back to you. There's one online. The question online says, how do I soften my heart, my daily devotion and prayer? This is me. They can give you the greatest answers. This is me. Every day I pray, Lord, take my mind and think through it. Take my mouth and speak through it. Take my eyes and see through them. Take my ears and allow me to hear through them. Take my mouth and speak through Lord, take my heart and soften it so that I might hear you. That's my daily prayer.
Dr. Val
Psalms 51. Is it give me a clean heart, created me a clean heart, and reveal within me a right spirit. If you pray that prayer, that psalm, your heart will soften because only God can really soften a hearted heart in.
Pastor Don
In that Psalms 51 created me a clean heart. It is the narrative that David's heart is hard. He has done evil toward God. And I probably will share this with you is that whatever that is that has caused your heart to harden, forgive them and forgive that season. Because oftentimes we listen, we react through the lenses of something that happened to us. So now our hearts becomes guarded and we miss the next season because we're still hard from the last season. So maybe, maybe in creating me a clean heart, it is God help me to forgive the people that hurt me because those that hurt me has hardened my heart for those who actually love me.
Dr. Val
And guess what? Softening has begun because you asked the question.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
There it is. Forgetting those things which are behind me. I'm going to reach forth question in the room.
Audience Member/Question Asker
My question is for volunteering, but it kind of goes in along the lines of that heart condition. Sometimes we've. I'm going to say I find myself trying to push through volunteering in different aspects. Not so much in the church. Church, but in different aspects as far as this, my time. This is my money that I'm sacrificing. And unfortunately, I've heard the little saying, I'm just a volunteer. They ain't paying me for it. So that kind of sort of got in my spirit. So how can I check my spirit to go back to. I'm not doing this for recognition. I'm doing it for the love of God and try to get that. Well, it don't matter anyways, I'm just a volunteer.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
First of all, I want to thank you for volunteering, being connected in community groups. And I want to slide this. Put this in your pocket. David had five smooth stones. This might be one of them. For those of you who volunteer a whole lot, balance is key. Balance is key. My wife and I go back to a time I don't know, it could have been 15, 20 years ago. I'll never forget. And my wife and I love to serve. Priests teach. And I remember she said, baby, for the last two weeks we've been at church every day. She didn't complain about anything. I got it I will never forget it. So I was like, wait a minute. Balance. Balance. When you are tired, you hear suggestive thoughts from the enemy. And then the same. The same enemy that tried to get you not to volunteer is now telling you that you're just a volunteer. Your voice matters. That's why we often stick around after Bible study. You can see us before church. We have surveys every now and then. Your voice matters. It's not always the pastor that builds the church. It's the people in it.
Dr. Val
Yeah.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
You are the foundation of this ministry.
Pastor Don
So a good friend of mine, Pastor Mike Jr. Made this statement. And that's my brother.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
I love him singing.
Pastor Don
Mike Jr yeah, that's my brother. I love him to death. He made this statement. I never forget when it comes to volunteers. He said, all of us are trees, and we grow fruit. The problem is the fruit can't eat the tree, and the tree can't eat the fruit. So the fruit is for somebody else. And if God has gifted you to be a fruit to volunteer, God gave you the anointing to serve, and it is a blessing to serve. You don't have to do this. You get to do this. It is an honor to serve. And when you change how you think about serving and volunteer, it changes everything. So I volunteer. Thank you. I get to do this because guess what? It could be worse. You could be on the other end needing to be served. Now choose which one you want.
Dr. Val
And the other part of that, too, is you're serving people. And remember, it's not just doing something. You're serving the people of God. And anytime you're serving the people of God, you're doing God's business. Remember that he served the disciples before he left here. He washed their feet before he left here. That was service. He put a towel on and he stooped down to serve before he became king. Before he became that almighty king. So the good thing about volunteering is the stooping, because the greatest of them are the servants of them all. And so, yeah, that's what the Lord says.
Pastor Don
And what if I told you God was keeping a punch, a time clock? He was gonna reward you for every time you served? He's gonna open the door for you. That may not come from the church. He's gonna make ways out of no way because you served. So now I'm not serving people. I'm serving God's people. And I know in the end, God's gonna pay me back for everything.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
That's fire. One of the things that Dr. Val said, I don't want us to miss this. It's preaching territory, but I'm gonna pull that preacher down. You said he stooped. Jesus went down before he went up.
Dr. Val
Yes, he did.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
I'm going somewhere. How many of you? All are single? You can raise your hand and make some noise. Identify yourself. Your wife or your husband could be in here. All the sick. I met my wife right here, serving at the Potter's house in 2002. I was an instructor in prison ministry. She was a student. Now, I tried to do it holy. We waited till after she graduated the class and brother got the digits. But anyways, you don't know what you're getting ready to run into. Serving.
Dr. Val
Yeah, that's good.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
There's a blessing on the other side of it. Let's finish up verses seven and eight. Acts, chapter number six. That's getting off a little bit. So God's message continued to spread because they had the structure right? And the number of believers greatly increased in Jerusalem. And many of the Jewish priests were converted, too. They're winning souls. Never forget that. You're a soul winner. That's why the enemy's coming at you, coming against you, while you volunteer. Now, Stephen, a man full of God's grace and power, he was full of the Holy Ghost. The text says in NLT version that he performed amazing miracles and signs among all the people. Let's just continue that. But one day, some men from the synagogue of the free slaves, King James will say libertines, as it was called, started to debate with him. They were Jews from Cyrene, Alexandria, Cilicia, and the province of Asia. If you go back and study this, these Jews have been set free because Rome basically had seized Jerusalem at the time. But once they got free, now they're picking trouble with Stephen. None of them could stand against him or against the wisdom and the spirit which Stephen spoke. They hate you because you're good. They hate you because you're full of God's spirit. They don't like you because God's shining on you. Give me a few more verses and I'm done. So they persuaded some men to lie about Stephen. Anybody ever been lied on? You think you're the first person to be lied? They lied on Jesus. They lied on Steven. We heard him blaspheme Moses and even God. These are the people that say, girl, I heard, bro, did you hear this? Roused the people up, the elders and the teachers of the religious law. So they arrested Stephen and they brought him before the High Council. The lying witnesses said, this man is always speaking against the holy temple and against the law of Moses. Watch these last two verses. We have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth would destroy the temple and change the customs of Moses handed down to us because your enemy is afraid of change. At this point, everyone in the High Council stared at Stephen because his face became as bright as an angel.

Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
This is difficult to summarize because Acts chapter number six and Acts chapter number seven actually go together. They go question Stephen and then Stephen begins to take them all the way back. He's taken them back to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph. He's taken them back to Moses. He talks about David and Solomon and then he says, listen, all the prophets came. He says, your people always do resist the Holy Ghost. They don't want you to have the Holy Ghost. They don't want to. They don't want you to show that God is in you. He says, you stiff necked people, you always resist the Holy Ghost. They got so mad at Stephen. This is drama. They got so mad at Stephen. The text says they begin to gnash upon him with their teeth. You know you gotta be mad when you biting people like a little kid. And they begin to stone Stephen. But Stephen, who had the face of an angel. He looked up as he's praying. He says, lord, don't lay this charge. Don't lay this sin against them. Who does that sound like? Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. See, some of your prayers are, lord, kill them, Lord. Get them, Lord. Break their ankles, Lord. Take their money, Lord, shut them out, Lord. Allow them to have a divorce, Lord, never mind. Never mind. You know the prayers that we pray when we really mad. Stephen's prayer was, lord, don't lay this charge to them. They don't even know what they're doing. And he looks up and he sees Jesus standing on the right hand side of the Father. Before I close this little portion, my question is, when did Jesus start standing? The Bible says he's seated in heavenly place. He's seated on the right hand side. He says, you gonna stand up for me like that? You gonna forgive people? Let me give you a standing ovation, boy. All while you wanna give up. God has given you a standing ovation, saying, I see you. You want people to see you, But God is telling somebody in this room, I see you. I see what they said. I see how it hurt you. I see how it broke your heart. Keep doing what you're doing. And Stephen gave up the ghost and went with his master.
Pastor Don
It is. That's so good. And we're going to come to your question. It is stated in, one theologian argues that when Jesus stands up, it is tradition to welcome someone into the house. It is tradition that's saying, I'm about to bring you to a higher place. So Stephen has the ability to forgive them while they're killing him, because he sees what they don't see.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
But he had to go low.
Pastor Don
It is so easy to forgive people when you see what they don't see. Because my eyes aren't fixed on you stoning me. My eyes are fixed as who's standing for me. So instead of look at the stone, look at the stand, who's standing for you, not who's stoning you.
Dr. Val
I hope the lady that asked the question about the softened heart, I hope you're still listening, because that was the answer to what you're going through or what you want, that God is standing up for you. All you got to do is forgive whatever it was that hurt you. And God is standing up applauding you, accepting you in because you're forgiving. Forgive them. Don't lay it to their charge. They didn't know what they were doing.
Pastor Don
That's so good. That's so good. Yes, Ma'. Am.
Dr. Val
Woo.
Weight Loss by Hers Advertiser
You said that being broken is the first step in planning a harvest. But what do you do if God is trying to heal you, but it feels like a part of you doesn't want to let the brokenness go when being healed is foreign to you?
Pastor Don
That's so loaded. Oh, my God. That is a great question.
Dr. Val
Being healed is foreign.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
I love your question. I'll take a slight stab or cut at it. The key word you said was feeling. He's not a God that cannot be touched by the feeling of our infirmities. So one challenge that I have to ask myself whenever I'm going through something that does not seem fair and I don't like it, Lord, remind me of when you were on that cross being whipped and beaten. Help me to identify with you so that I can get through this. Lord. Give me a glimpse, Give me a commercial of the movie of my promise coming to me. Because it feels foreign. It feels like it'll never happen. The other thing I just feel led to say is you have to get around people who have testimonies. When you're going through, you need somebody who can say, oh, listen, listen, I ain't judging you. I went through that too. Let me tell you how God brought me out. It'll stir up your faith. The feeling will begin to subside while the faith begins to ride
Pastor Don
it. To me, you gave two different scenarios, which is great. The scenario about broken. To get a harvest is one capacity. The area of broken wanting to be healed is another one. So when I. When you say the healing part that is foreign, I am praying that God teaches you a foreign language and be able to walk into something you've never experienced before. Because healing is one area of your life that you can control. And so many times we wait for other people to heal us like we wait for the apology. Then I'll be healed. I'm going to be healed whether you apologize or not. My healing, your healing, is your choice. It's like I choose not to stay in Lo Debar. Why sit we here till we die. So now the breaking that God does to produce something out of you, that's something you want. But the brokenness that somebody else did to us so we could walk in healing, that's your choice. That I pray that you continue to get the power and the testimony around other people that says, oh, I went through that. You can make it through it too.
Dr. Val
It's a decision.
Pastor Don
Yeah.
Dr. Val
Healing starts with a decision. I want to be healed. I want to come out. I want to see the light. I want to get on the other side of this. And when you make that decision. Decision. Anytime you make the decision, it is already begun. Whatever it is. It's about making the decision. Cause it starts in the head, and then the heart starts moving.
Pastor Don
Let me add this. When you make the decision, don't wait for somebody else's approval.
Dr. Val
Right.
Pastor Don
When you decide I'm healed. I don't need anybody to tell me I'm healed.
Dr. Val
Right.
Pastor Don
I know I'm healed. If I have to replay it to myself over and over. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Now it doesn't match. I'm healed. I don't. I'm going say this. I don't care if it doesn't even look like you're healed. Start declaring, I'm healed. When I go home, I'm healed. You can be in the same situation and still declare, I'm healed. I'm not going through this. I refuse to let the enemy hold me hostage to a broken season of my life. God has called me out of one last thing.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Because we love you so much. Psalm 107 and 20. Put that in your pocket. The Lord sent his word and he healed him.
Dr. Val
Yeah.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
So you have to know, once you get that word, you're healed. The manifestation is on its way. Can we give God glory?
Pastor Don
I'm healed. Yeah.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
He sent his word. Thank you. And healed them and delivered them from their destruction.
Pastor Don
All.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Everything.
Pastor Don
So on the heels of what you just walked through, Pastor Dobbins, chapter six, chapter seven leads us to chapter eight. Because now there's this paradigm shift, because now Stephen has been a martyr. He's been killed. He's asked for forgiveness. But. But the thing about it is this. That I found reading in chapter number eight is that God uses tools that we're uncomfortable with to spread the gospel. Because verse number one in chapter eight says this.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
What happened is what. What happens to them clothes that Stephen
Pastor Don
had approved of the killing of him. On that day, a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem. Here's the ship. And all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea, Samaria. Godly man. Oh, that's chapter number eight. Godly men buried Steve. They mourned for him. They did that. And then the text says. But they kept preaching the gospel.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
It didn't stop them.
Pastor Don
Okay. The death didn't stop. Stephen's death was a platform. So the persecution became the platform so the gospel can be spread. So Saul was trying to kill the church while God was trying to enlarge the church. And the only person that can help spread the gospel was through his death, was Jesus and Stephen. Because if not, the gospel would have stayed in one area. So now what has happened? God says, I need for it to be spread abroad. He said, then I need a sacrifice. So maybe God is trying to kill you in every area of your life, in your flesh, so the gospel can be spread throughout your family. See, now you're wondering. God, don't, don't make. He said, no, no, no, no. I need a Stephen, I need a Steven. So your family bloodline can be. And I don't mean literally kill you. I mean, he's trying to kill your old ways, your old way of thinking, your old way of poverty. I'm trying to get you out of poverty mindset. So he says, what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna cause you to get picked on and I'm allow you to be killed so everything else can be spread. Watch this. I'm gonna make your bloodline's job easier because of sacrifice you make today.
Dr. Val
Oh, oh, oh. Can I say something? Pick me. Because Saul thought he was right.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Work it, work it.
Dr. Val
He thought he was right. And so everybody that comes against you doesn't necessarily think they're wrong. They actually think they're doing right. And God is using that person who thinks they're right to get you to where you need to go. So you can't be mad at everybody that do you wrong because you don't know if God's using them or the devil is using them. So just be ready for whatever. Because Saul thought he was right.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Listen, I just want to take them home to the living room, baby. Chris, if you're watching online, listen, they just gonna come to the living room. First of all, you all are putting in so much depth in this, because what I thought about Dr. Val is that people can be. You can be sincere and be sincerely wrong.
Pastor Don
Boy, you said something just then.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
You can be sincere and sincerely wrong and not even know it. Here's the key. When Stephen is stoned, the cronies, the murderers, they then go take Stephen's clothes and lay them at the feet of Saul.
Pastor Don
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
He saw before Paul. They said, here you go, sir, we did everything you told us to do. They laid the bloody. Oh, God, the bloody plasma filled cells. Protons, electron. They laid everything on those clothes on his feet. And Saul with his prideful self said, yeah, he's given the nod. Kind of like the high Priest Caiaphas who gave the nod for Jesus to be crucified. But what Saul did not realize is that what he was getting from Stephen was actually a mantle.
Pastor Don
I'm gonna throw this microphone at you.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
See, bloody clothes transfused into a hard heart equals soft hearts for the blood of Jesus Christ. See, the spiritual algorithm here is what Saul put in. He got out. Saul says, good job, you killed him. Yeah, I don't ever have to deal with them Christians again because you still, you killed the deacon who was full of the Holy Ghost. So surely it's going to stop the movement. But Saul did not realize that he was getting a mantle and getting ready to be changed. Which leads Pastor Don to start preaching on Acts, chapter number nine.
Pastor Don
See, now in Acts, chapter eight, the text says, but see, this is why we try to tell you, this is why we love reading the Bible. See, it's a storyline. There's historical value, there's revelation value in it. Because not only does Paul get the mantle, he gets the mantle and get put on pause because he goes from Saul. He says, now it's Philip's turn. So Philip goes to Samaria and begins to tell Samarian people about Jesus. But now his way, it's critical. So now in Samaria, there is healing, there was breakthrough and deliverance through Philip. We hear nothing major about Philip until it's his time. So there's a public ministry. And then God says, philip, I need you to do me a favor. Go to the desert of Gaza. Watch this, because you did something publicly. Now you get me do something privately because there's an Ethiopian I need you to meet. There's Ethiopian. Now here it is for everybody who wants ministry to be done publicly. Sometimes God wants you to do something privately. Stop telling our God, use me. No, no, no, no, no, no. He wants to know if you can do it publicly and privately. He wants to know if I can use you on both sides of the work. And then he says, watch this. He says, there's healing, there's breakthrough. And then the problem becomes with the platform that you gotta be able to say, I've been persecuted, but I have an assignment. I have an assignment. And in the assignment, God says, here, I need you to talk to. I need you to talk to somebody. Who am I talking? I'm talking to this Ethiopian. Watch this, because this Ethiopian is extremely important. Because this Ethiopian is not just Ethiopian. He has the right hand of the queen. Okay, I'm gonna leave this alone because you gotta understand that the Queen of Ethiopia is not something that's just given this. Her name is Candace. She's not just somebody. Well, her name is a Candace. Her position is Candace. And it's really said that this is Ethiopia. It said it's all countries that is south of Egypt. So this woman ran everything.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Did you say this was a rich black woman? Is that what I heard you just say?
Pastor Don
Okay, no, no, no, no. I didn't say that. Cuz rich is too cheap. Rich is too cheap.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
She was wealthy.
Pastor Don
She was a wealthy.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Okay, okay, I'm sorry, she was. I received that correction. She was wealthy.
Pastor Don
She ran the region. Okay? So for those who think women don't need to be in charge. I'm sorry, please forgive me. I didn't write the Bible. It's in the Bible. I didn't come up with this. The text says not only was this eunuch Ethiopian in charge, he was in charge of things, all her wealth. So. Which means this woman trusts him. So what God does? God doesn't go to leadership. God goes to servants.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Listen, that's why you got to keep volunteering.
Pastor Don
Got to volunteer. Cuz sometimes you looking if you speak it through the head and God says, no, no, I want to get to the servant because the. Okay, the Ethiopian, let me get through this. The Ethiopian now is reading a portion of the Bible that he cannot understand. Well, it's not the Bible at the time. Time. It's Isaiah. He, he can read it, but he can't understand it. Catch this. Which means he's educated. The Bible wasn't written in Ethiopian, which means he can read another language. So you could be educated with not a revelation, which means you can have intellect and not instinct, which means you don't have the logos of God, but you got more degrees than a thermometer. Okay, okay, okay. So he needs somebody to give him a revelation, but God gives him the revelation privately because he knows the word is going to be spread through Kush, through Ethiopia, through all the countries. So for those who think that the European culture gave us the Bible. I'm so sorry, it's in the text. Okay. I'm not even going to turn that corner. But, but, but, but, but back to private ministry. Back to, back to private. It's this man gave us the Bible and I'm sorry, let's go back and read our historical value of how things came to part. Just. And that's just North Africa. We didn't talk about West Africa, how it migrated to. Okay, we're not gonna go after that. And East Africa, how the word migrated. But here's what's important. The Bible says. Stephen's death now becomes the catalyst of how the gospel begins to be spread. And all they're doing is teaching the word. But, but, but, but there's a problem. They come to a city and they. Man 1 calls this man named Simon the Sorcerer. So Simon the Sorcerer has magic, but has no power.
Dr. Val
Magic.
Pastor Don
He has a gift, but it has no anointing. He can sing you under a gate, but he can't sing you through nothing. See, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm. I'm a little biased of people who have no power. Power. But you lean on your gift.
Dr. Val
That's good.
Pastor Don
So, son, every. It's in the text. Simon is popular. Everyone knows who Simon is because he's a magician. But he hears the word of God. And the text says he runs across somebody who's more powerful than who he is. And it says he's converted. Wait a minute, Church, before y' all shout. They say he's converted until he starts seeing what the disciples are doing. And the text says, he reaches in his pocket, he says, can I pay for the Holy Ghost?
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
You know, Pastor Don, first of all, I want you to murder this because you, you're doing a great job. I see the ax, I see the AK47, the bullet, everything over there. One of the things that hits that hit me when you were reading that is that this is why you got to be careful that people are in community groups and disciples.
Pastor Don
Yeah, yeah.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Because once you get saved, you're not totally delivered from everything.
Pastor Don
Oh, you keep saying that over and over again.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
So he's saved now, functioning with witchcraft, and he wants to flow with voodoo. Yeah, that's all he knows.
Pastor Don
That's all he knows. All he knows is what gets the applause of the people. So then the applause of the people fuel him. So now this gift is stimulated by people's applause. Church, be careful when you need the applause of people to stimulate the gift that God gave you because it'll prostitute the anointing my son took. Open. How dare you ask for money for the Holy Ghost? It is a gift. It's not a prostitution thing. Because you're more concerned about the reaction from the crowd than the glory being given to God. Oh, I'm sorry for yelling. Please forgive me.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
No, you're okay. Because my guy was popular but not powerful. So he. His mindset. I think, Dr. Val, you can help me out here. I think his mindset is performance based. Some of you, you can make the money, but then you can't stick to the task. So then your money becomes a replacement for your heart. Sisters, be careful for the brother who can provide everything, but really isn't committed with time and effort. I'm not sure that he wants you or wants something from you. Brothers, be careful for the sister who can provide something, but really she does not tap into the little boy in you, nor really respect you because it is a performance based mindset. I'm just thinking through the text.
Pastor Don
No, no, go ahead, doc.
Dr. Val
I was thinking as he was talking about the sorcerer, that people that are into horoscopes and into tarot cards and into witchcraft, if you will, and sorcery. It's not that they don't have a gift.
Pastor Don
It is real.
Dr. Val
It is real. The problem is this, that it has been distorted and contaminated by the enemy. Now, if they would yield those gifts to the power of the Holy Ghost, imagine how many people's lives could be turned upside down for the church. So while you're reading horoscopes and tarot cards, remember that that is not of God. And if you are into it, be careful. Because the enemy's after your mind just like God wants your mind.
Pastor Don
Be, be, be careful. You don't have an itching ear because he'll take you further than you want to go.
Dr. Val
Yeah.
Pastor Don
He'll keep you longer than you want to be kept.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Yeah.
Pastor Don
And it'll cost you more than you want to pay. Be careful when you got to have it.
Dr. Val
Oh, that goes back to paying for it.
Pastor Don
Yeah, you pay. It'll cost you something. It'll cost you something. And, and, and I knew, I knew this was going to be an issue. Dobbins. Because now Paul Saul at the time is off pause and he picks back again in chapter number nine. And the text says he is so excited with his egotistical self, he continues to threaten the church. And the Bible says he goes to get permission. And I'm not gonna read everything. I just want to give you an oversight. He goes to get permission from the high priest. Can I go to Damascus? I hate the Christians in Israel. I mean, in Jerusalem. I don't like the one in Damascus. Can I go to Damascus? The high priest said, yeah, you can go. Go get them all. Go get them all. He says, I'm gonna gather the men, the women and the children. Anybody who declares, catch this. Who is believing in Christianity, I believe this. This is Israel at best. Since you brought it up, I'm gonna throw you under the bus.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Flow.
Pastor Don
It is possible. It might not be true, but it is possible. Did he Take that mantle with him on the road to Damascus while he was on the way. And on the way there, he got knocked off his high horse. And Paul says, lord, who are you? In other words, there's nobody strong enough to knock me down. Be careful when your ego is so big that nobody can reach you. Nobody can tell you when you wrong. Nobody can tell you you out of order. Nobody can tell you your breast stink. Nobody can take. Okay, okay.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Flow, flow.
Pastor Don
Be, be, be careful. Because what will happen is God will knock you off your high horse. And watch this. He goes from a high place to a low place.
Dr. Val
Yeah.
Pastor Don
In one moment, he goes from ego to worship. He goes to recognizing who he is. Catch this. Because how he hit him. Sometimes God is hitting you so you can recognize who he is. Because he immediately says, lord, who in the world did this to me? Maybe God is trying to get your attention because that bright light is meant to shine on you. But here's the thing. The Bible says, and everybody around him heard him, but don't know what in the world just happened.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
It's. It's interesting. First of all, Dr. Val, I'm gonna blame you.
Dr. Val
Okay, I'll take it.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
You talked about stooping. When Jesus is stooping, first he goes down before he goes up. But it's the reverse order with Paul.
Pastor Don
Yep.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
He's coming from up to down. Whenever God is stripping you and robbing you, I don't know who I'm talking to. You feel robbed. You feel stripped of emotions, finances, relationships. He's trying to get your attention. In this text, Acts chapter number nine. The scales are able to fall from his eyes, but yet Paul is blind after the light. Wait a minute. The text says the light shines at noonday. How in the world is there a light shining brighter than the sun at noon?
Pastor Don
It is so powerful. What you just said that God say I outshine the sun. My assignment is bigger than the sun. Catch this. Because his eyes are open, but the scales are blinding him. But God still makes sure he can hear every.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
He don't let everything go down at the same time.
Pastor Don
He says, listen, you can't see, but you can hear me. Because what he can't see and what he can hear is important. Now becomes the season of detox. Everything you saw before Damascus I gotta get rid of. So it's gonna take me three days to resurrect something new in you. So I'm gonna make you do something you're not used to. I'm gonna let somebody else lead you. You've always Been in control. But now somebody else has to hold your hand. Now somebody else has to take you to the place. Catch this. He doesn't go back to Jerusalem. He goes. He never negates the assignment. He stays on the road to Damascus.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Street call street. Lord have mercy. Come on. See, Ananias comes in as the coach and the mentor. Some of us have to sit under people. I'm telling you, I'll never forget an old mother in Missouri. She said, baby, you ain't done cooking yet. Stay in the oven. What she meant is, stay in the church. Keep reading your Bible, keep praying, keep fasting. One of the interesting things I see about Saul becoming Paul is that he falls down, he's blind, has to go to Ananias house. But it's one thing you said. The text says that they heard a voice but saw no one. It's a. I don't know. This is prophetic in my. In my belly. Some of you around people, and they don't hear what you hear.
Pastor Don
That's good.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
I don't know who I'm talking to. Maybe you could be online. You hear it, but they don't hear it. So they keep on in what we would call the devilment, the trouble, the sin, they keep going. But something you say, ah, I'm. I'm good. I'm not going to the club tonight. Not. I'm not. I'm not going to smoke. I'm good right now. Now, don't hand me that drink right now because you hear it and they don't. The question is, what are you hearing that the people around you don't hear?
Pastor Don
I'm. I'm. I'm going to be done with chapter nine because there's so much more that we can get in. I'mma let. I'm going. Turn over, Dr. Val. But I got. I got a question for all y' all shouting about your Ananas. Because the Bible says ananas now has an assignment to help Paul. But he doesn't want the assignment.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
He doesn't want it. He doesn't trust him.
Pastor Don
He doesn't trust him. He doesn't want it. But God still called him to volunteer to. It
Dr. Val
leads right to the question.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
I don't even. You didn't even see this. But now this question now says, can you speak on the subject of volunteering and expecting something in return? When volunteering in church, the something in return should come from God and not so much the church. We're not doing this to please people. We're doing this to please the Master.
Dr. Val
Yeah.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
Some of you have given money to other people that nobody else knows about. Some of you have helped people that you cannot even express or explain. Some of you have helped so many people, you've forgotten all the people you had. Where. Where are you at? Where are you? Where are you? Where are you? But then sometimes when you get that check in the mail, that cash app, that Venmo, you say, wait a minute. You look, wait, my 401k went up. Wait a minute. I got a chance. Chance to get SpaceX. Wait a minute. Wait. Wait a minute. I got. My stock went up. Wait, wait. Because God is blessing you for what you have sewn in your volunteering and helping in places that other people didn't see.
Pastor Don
Go ahead, Dr. Bell. I know.
Dr. Val
I just. I just want to transition us to chapter 10. We can't do this book justice in the time that we have for us.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
But we need chapter 10.
Dr. Val
But we need justice. One piece in chapter 10. If you'll put my scripture up. I just want to read in chapter ten, I think verse. I think it's
Audience Member/Question Asker
one.
Dr. Val
Is it one? Okay. All right. No, it's chapter nine. I'm sorry. Verse ten. Chapter nine, I'm sorry. Chapter ten, verse nine. Chapter ten, verse nine, yeah. The next day, as Cornelius messengers were nearing the town, Peter went up on the flat roof to pray. Now, we've been talking about Saul, but now we're getting ready to go to Peter. It was next screen about noon, and he was hungry. But while a meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. He saw the sky open. Something like a large sheet was let down by its four corners. In the sheet were all sorts of animals, reptiles and birds. Then a voice said to him, get up, Peter. Rise, Peter. Slay and eat. That's what y' all know. If you know that. Then a voice said to him, get up, Peter. Kill and eat them. No, Lord. Peter declared, I have never eaten anything that our Jewish law have declared impure or unclean. But the voice spoke again. Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean. The same vision was repeated three times. Then the sheet was suddenly pulled up to heaven. I want to go back to verse nine. Or ten, I think it is. Go back to verse ten. What if a marginal gain unlocked greater performance? What if an insight in data could change everything? Dr. Val
Here we go. But while a meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. I want to stop here. One of the common things in the Book of Acts is prayer. So go back. Go back to verse nine. That's where I want to be. The next day, as Cornelius's messengers were nearing the town, Peter went up on the flat roof to pray. And it was about noon. Now, the Bible doesn't tell us what he prayed about, but if you keep reading chapter 10, you'll see that while he was waiting to eat, he fell into a trance, it says, or a vision. And what let down from heaven was an answer to prayer. So this is what I want you to hear. And then we can bring this to a close. Tonight is when you pray. Pray expecting God to meet you at the time of prayer. It tells us that Peter was devoted in prayer. It was the hour of prayer. It was about noon. It was the sixth hour. So they prayed the third, the sixth, and the ninth hour. In the Book of Acts, you'll see the ninth hour, the sixth hour. You'll see that over and over. Which means if you will devote to time to pray and go to God, he will come back down to you. And for all of you that have been asking the questions tonight, how do I do this? What happens when this goes on? If you have a moment with God in prayer, if you'll go to him about the same time, oh, it takes me back to Solomon. Because when Solomon, Solomon offered those Burnt offerings to God. God met him right at that moment. And sometimes, yes, we love answering your questions, but sometimes all you got to do is go to God and ask him whatever you're asking us and expect him to meet you there.
Pastor Don
My God, My God.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
She not sum the whole thing up.
Pastor Don
Let me say this while you're clapping, one of the things we desire to do is not to take you through every chapter. We want to stimulate you to go back, research matter of fact, see if we telling you the truth. Go read it for yourself.
Dr. Val
Oh, oh, oh. Can I say this?
Pastor Don
Yes.
Dr. Val
Pick me one more time.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
You picked.
Dr. Val
You're picked because as I was studying, scholars are trying to X out the book of Acts saying that it's obsolete and it will not transition to the modern church based on what Pastor Don just said. So in order not to be fooled or let truth fall in the street, if you will read the book of Acts, which gives us the history of the church. Where the church won't lose its power, where the church won't lose its savor, you'll know your history. We talk about the black history, we talk about the Hispanic, we talk about, know the history of the church so that the church can maintain its power while they're trying to make it obsolete in the modern day church.
Pastor Don
Very often I don't, I don't carry cash. I don't carry cash. I guess this is modern day time. But I just so happened, had a large dollar bill in my hand and I gave it to the cashier and the cashier marked it and I said, what happened when you mark it? He said, it'll turn another color when it's authentic, but it has to have a mark on it. And I said, wait a minute. So it's real when it's been marked? He said, yeah, it's been. I said, so that's how you tell authentic authenticity when it's been marked? He said, yeah, you'll see the scars. I said, wait a minute now. He has no idea what I'm in my head. I'm like, wait a minute. So it's real when it's been scarred? I said, is that the only way you tell when something real? He said, yeah, it's one other thing you do. You hold it to the light.
Dr. Val
Light? Yeah, boy, you better preach right now.
Pastor Don
Cuz when you hold it to the light, there's a visible strip you can see on the inside of it that you can't see in the dark. But the only way you know is when it's been marked and it can be held to the light. I don't know who that's for today, but I am declaring every mark, every light that God is holding you up to, baby.
Dr. Val
It's because.
Pastor Don
Because I am authentic.
Pastor/Host (possibly lead pastor or main speaker)
You've been marked. Touch everybody you can reach and say, I've been marked. I've been marked. I've been marked. I've been marked. Here's the interesting thing. You've been marked so good now that you have pressure. The whole thing was growing through pressure. You can't grow without being marked. Whoever I'm talking to, I dare you to jump on your feet and thank God for the marking. Thank God for the persecution. Thank God for the pressure. Thank God for the pain. Thank God for the light. My heart burned as they talk with us. Can you give it up for my colleagues? The interesting theme that I notice is that everything was happening at noon. At noon. Bright light shown to Paul at noonday hour of prayer. Noon is the sixth hour. He was crucified from the sixth to the ninth hour. Crucifixion started at noon. Peter is praying at noon. I feel led to call to the altar those who are willing to repent for not praying. I know it's unusual. It takes a soft heart to come here. It takes a soft heart. Thank you. It takes a soft heart to be real. I want to give you an opportunity to flush out everything that not praying put on you. Where are you? Where are you? Where are you? If you know the Master, he's been tapping you. 4:30. 5:15. 5:30. You hit the snooze button. You went back to sleep. God's calling you to a deeper place of prayer. God's not just asking you to pray because something is wrong, although those times happen. He's asking you to pray because he's preparing you for something. Who am I talking to? He's preparing you for something. If you don't know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, do me a favor. Come down and go to my right. Because we want to teach you that it all starts with prayer. Do I have a praying church? Would you stretch forth your hands this way? This is who came. But this is not all that I see in my spirit. I want to give you another opportunity. It's just me, you and the Holy Ghost. If you know that you need to come repent for not praying, let's get it right now. This is what's going to build you to face the trouble, the hardship, the accusations, the lies, the persecution. Mm. Mm. Every altar call does not have to be A shout. I'm not listen. We. We've already preached and taught and tried to behave ourselves. This is not to preach to you. This is to give you an opportunity to flush out your spirit of everything that made your heart hard. Of everything that tried to push you out of the call of God. Father, I thank you for my brother. I thank you for my sister. See, in this moment, nobody can really lay hands on them. But you can come and agree with them as ministers and elders. Father, we thank you for the glory of God in this place. We thank you for calling us back to prayer. Your word says that man ought to always pray and not to faint. Father, I pray that you would stir up an intercessor. Spirit. Pray up the spirit, oh God. Stir up the spirit of intercession. Thank you for the making of a prophet. Thank you for the making of a minister. Thank you for the making of a Christian. Thank you for the making of someone who is going to go into business and take over territory. Thank you for the making of a father. Thank you for the making of a mother. Thank you for the making of a wife. Thank you for the making of a father. Thank you for the making of a husband. Thank you for the making of a Christian who is willing to please you. I want to sow right into this moment. I need one of my. Our deacons to bring me my phone. I want to sow right, right into this moment. It's in this moment we want to sow. We want to give you an opportunity to sew into fertile ground. We had to break it up. We had to break it up. If you need an offering envelope, we've got our professional ministry technicians in the aisles. Just lift up hand if you need an envelope, you'll see the giving information on the screen. I want to sew into this moment. I want to give to a church who has been giving to me. I want to give to a church who's been ushering me in to praise, Ushering me into worship. Ushering me in to have a clean heart. I can't tell you what to sow. Some of you may sow 500, some of you may sow 50. But all I know is you can't pay for a clean heart. But you can be grateful and thankful for a God who delivered you from having a dirty heart. Come on. Do I have any witnesses? Do I have any witnesses? Do I have any witnesses? Now that your heart is clean, you don't just give any old amount of seed. You pray and let the master speak to you. Can I Give a. Can I get an envelope until they find my phone? I got an amount that I need to sew. Do me a favor. Do you have a pen? Thank you. I want to write this amount on this thing. Praise God. Come on. Are we ready to give? If you're watching online, you ought to feel something. You ought to feel lighter. If you're ready. If you're ready to give, shout clean heart. I can't hear you. If you're ready to give, shout clean heart. Father, we thank you for cleaning our hearts tonight. Thank you for reminding us that we can grow even through pressure. That even as you've allowed the hardness of our hearts to be broken up so that our hearts will be soft and tender before you. Now you're getting ready to move like never before. Now, God, we give you free reign to do whatever you want to do. Throw your weight around, Holy Ghost, Let the devil know who the boss is. Father, we thank you for blessings beyond measure. Lord, I thank you for bonuses and commission and checks in the mail. I thank you for unexpected promotions. I thank you for deals. I thank you for customers and clients. I thank you for the spirit of expansion. I thank you for grants and scholarships and paid off debt. God, we thank you for what you're going to do. Lord, we thank you for 30 seconds, 60 and a hundredfold. But your word says you'll make us a thousand times so many more as we are. We sow this seed in expectation of the manifestation of the glory of God. In the name of Jesus, together as a friend, we're gonna say Amen. Amen. Do me a favor. Pass your seed all the way down to the left. All the way down to the left. All the way down to the left. Come on. So it with the praise, so with the. Thank you, Jesus. So it with a clean heart. Hallelujah. Couple of several announcements. Why pmt serve the people of God. Praise the lord. Come on. Can we give God glory for our pmts? Can we praise God for them? Hallelujah. Couple announcements. These are very, very, very important. Can I get all the women to make some noise? Yeah. Yeah. Can I get all the men to make some noise? Yeah. I like to hear that bass. We even have kids in us. Can I get all the kids to make some noise? I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it. Listen, y', all. Father Day. Father's Day is upon us. And we've got the house shop. Come on, sisters. I know y' all got the fathers covered. Brothers, I know you got your father's cup. Make some noise if you got them covered. The impact of a father shapes generations and that's worth celebrating. So no excuse. You don't have to come empty handed. All the fathers. Make some noise. There it is. There it is. We, we appreciate the ties and the socks, we appreciate the cologne. We appreciate you taking us to lunch with our own debit card. But it'd be cool if. Did I say that? I feel so good. My heart feels lighter. Give God a praise. If your heart feels lighter, Would you gently grab your neighbor's hand as we go before the Lord to close in a word of prayer? Father, I thank you for Pastor Don and Dr. Val, thank you for using us for your glory tonight. Thank you, Lord, that as we grow through pressure, you're allowing the fallow ground of our heart to be broken up so that it might be soft and tender. Lord, we give you glory for what you are going to do for the rest of this week. We ask that you would keep us safe without harm, hurt, accident, incident or danger. We ask that you would bless those watching online. Father, we thank you for the spirit of hunger and thirst for righteousness to read your word as we dig deeper into the book of Acts. We thank you that this walk it Out Wednesday will go down in history because we thank you in advance for the testimonies, the miracles, the signs, the wonders, the checks, and so much more within the healings. We give you the glory, the honor and the praise in the name of Jesus. Come on, Zaren. We're going to say Amen. Amen. We love you and we will see you on Sunday.

Walk It Out Wednesday: Growing Through Pressure – Pastoral Panel
Date: June 11, 2026
This episode of Walk It Out Wednesday features an insightful, lively panel discussion hosted at The Potter’s House of Dallas, focused on “Growing Through Pressure.” The panel — including the main host/pastor, Dr. Val, and Pastor Don — explores how the early church in Acts grew and thrived under immense pressure, what it means to be spiritually “broken,” and how God uses trials, service, and community to bring restoration and expansion to His people. Using the Book of Acts, the panel ties biblical history to present-day faith life, encourages openness in struggle, and underscores the necessity of prayer, soft hearts, and active service.
The heart of this episode is that growth in faith—like the early church—comes only through pressure, breaking, and a willingness to be marked by God. Service, humility, and prayer are essentials, and genuine restoration or expansion requires not just structure but also soft, surrendered hearts. The Book of Acts is not merely history but the living blueprint for church life and Christian resilience.
Go forth as authentic people of God, marked and readied through pressure, sustained by prayer, and committed to service that pleases the Master.
