I think you've done everything right and absolutely nothing wrong. In fact, anything that hasn't gone your way could probably be blamed on your father not being emotionally available because his father wasn't emotionally available, and so on.

The road to Pentecost takes us from the Cross of Calvary. Three days later he got up with all power in his hands. That'll preach all by itself because if Jesus got up, you can get up. If Jesus got up, you can overcome depression If Jesus got up, anxiety is no match for the glory of God. If Jesus got up, you can have an appetite for the word of God. Here's what we're going to do. As we are talking, we're dialoguing. We'll do somewhat of a slight quick review of where we've been, and then we're going to talk about where we're going. You can ask questions online. Just throw them in the chat. You can also, in the room, ask any question you want. The worst thing we can say is it's none of your business. I'm just joking. I'm just joking.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Just joke.
Pastor Don
You can ask any question as it relates to the word of God. We want to make sure that it's a question, not so much a comment, because we want to grow in the power and the authority of God. This is a way that we really do discipleship, step by step, mentor to mentee and God to us. Does that make sense now? Oh, my God. Jesus got up on the third day with all power in his hands.
Pastor Cora
That's what it say.
Pastor Don
We talked about the fact that the women got to see him first. Dr. Foul, you. You were excited during that, doing that Walk It Out Wednesday.
Dr. Val
Yeah. And Pastor Cora wasn't here, but she had some insight as well. But I was so excited that we were able to address the fact that women are preachers, too.
Pastor Cora
Yes.
Pastor Don
Come on. Yes.
Pastor Cora
We are out there. Don't want to.
Pastor Don
I'll fight y' all if y' all come against. I said, come on.
Pastor Cora
They. They're haters. They don't want to hear it.
Dr. Val
They don't want to hear it.
Pastor Cora
It's fine.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
I. I am still mad we even having that conversation.
Pastor Cora
Yeah, we're still going to preach.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
You know, like, you can't control who God called.
Pastor Cora
No.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Why. Why are we. That's. That shouldn't even be a conversation. He uses all of us. So for those who watching, those who are like, get. Get over it.
Pastor Don
Over it.
Dr. Val
There's no male or female in the kingdom. That's what the Word says.
Pastor Don
That's what the word said it say
Dr. Val
in the big book.
Pastor Don
Now, Dr. Oscar, one time I. I thought I was doing real well, and I was preaching at this church, and they said, you know, have your wife introduce you. They didn't believe in women preachers after that. My wife was preaching instead of me. I tell you, boy. But you know what? Glory to God. Glory to God. Glory to God. So we talked about the fact that, listen, if Mary birthed Jesus, surely the women could birth The Word. Then we went along and we talked about. A couple of weeks ago, we talked about what we used to call Doubting Thomas. Yes, Pastor Corey, you corrected us on that.
Dr. Val
He, He.
Pastor Don
They didn't call him Doubting Thomas in the text.
Pastor Cora
No, he just had access to evidence. Yeah, he had access to evidence. And he. And that's what he asked for. He asked for the access that he had to the evidence to see what Jesus did.
Pastor Don
Oh, God. Access. How many of y' all have access to evidence? It's in your Bible.
Pastor Cora
Oh, yes.
Pastor Don
It's in your spirit. We're going to talk about that tonight. So we talked about a litany of things. And then last week, Dr. Oscar, you begin to tell us that two. Well, after Judas is gone, unfortunately, he hangs himself. The Bible talks about that after betraying Jesus, he couldn't take it. Then you talk to us about the fact that it was 11. The set needed to be 12. But then they chose Matthias. And then you broke down out of Joseph, Barsabas, justice. Matthias was chosen. But you said they weren't really looking for it, they were just serving.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Yeah.
Dr. Oscar
Well, if we can go back just a little bit because.
Pastor Don
Absolutely.
Dr. Oscar
Things we talked about, that road to Emmaus, which I think is that.
Pastor Don
Come on.
Dr. Oscar
How at the onset of Jesus showing himself to the disciples, what was so amazing about the road to Amazes, he wrote to a maze. Here are two disciples that are not named amongst the 12 who are walking away from Jerusalem. Now, I bring that up because Jerusalem is going to be a center place of where we kind of stop in the story tonight. So we have to remember that after Jesus Christ rises from the dead, he's showing himself to a multitude of disciples. The Bible in First Corinthians says over 500. We want to hold on to that number. Don't forget that number. Jesus is showing himself to 500. But when we get to the upper room, that number has diminished. We'll come there. We're not there yet. So Jesus is now walking this road. And there are two men that we talked about on the road to Emmaus. And they're having this discussion, this heated discussion about what happened. Jesus appears. And we went through this idea of why Jesus wouldn't all of a sudden show them who he was. And it was because he was walking them through the Word. He took them back into the Old Testament and he walked them through the Scriptures to reveal himself in the Word. Before he revealed Himself, himself to them through his senses, the Word was exposed to them. And that's how they learned who Jesus was not by being able to tangibly touch him or see see him. And that is a message for us. If we want to know who Jesus is, it is His Word that reveals him to us. It is not the miracle. It is not. It is not the signs and wonders. Those are great tools of who we see God is. But if you really, really, really want to know who Jesus is, you have to get in the Word, walk through the Word. That's why you're here tonight, because we walking it out in the Word, so that when you leave here, you're not shouting because of a miracle.
Pastor Don
You.
Dr. Oscar
Your heart is not burning because of a blessing. You're saying, I just sit with Jesus at the feet of His Word, and when I saw him, my eyes were open. So we had that. I just wanted to, you know. I don't know if I tag y'.
Pastor Don
All. No, come on, that's fine. I gotta lean on my JDs. Jake's Divinity School. Shout out to Jake's Divinity School. Dr. Val, do any scholars say that the two men on the road to Emmaus, is there a possibility that those men are Joseph Barclavus, justice, and Matthias?
Dr. Val
I can't answer that question. Not. I'm not sure, but Dr. Oscar may know.
Dr. Oscar
So. So. So there is. I mean, so one of the things that I love, and this is a great disadvantage.
Pastor Don
He's a man.
Dr. Oscar
No, no, no.
Pastor Don
I had to go to a woman on this.
Dr. Val
It's okay. I'm good.
Dr. Oscar
That's a great question. Go ahead. You were gonna say something?
Dr. Val
Yeah, I don't know.
Dr. Oscar
Oh, I'm gonna say I don't know in another way, though. But. But the beautiful thing.
Pastor Don
Thing.
Dr. Oscar
And I do want to say this because you bring up something that's very important. As we study Scripture, you know, sometimes we get the question, where do we get the information from? And yes, it's in Word, but there are other things that you can study. It is not just the scriptures that we have, but there are those that have done commentary. There are those. When you do research, we're researching not just what we read in Scripture, but contextually what was going on around that time. Understanding that the difference between Rome and Jerusalem, the distance from one place to another, where the mountains were, who. And we will get into that in a minute. Who was in Jerusalem at the time? Who are these people that are being preached to, all of these regions. That is important. So to get to that question, we don't necessarily know who the two men were. What we do know is that they were not one of the 12 disciples, but they were disciples. And what we understand is what. Whoever they were, they were important enough for Jesus to end. Enter into their conversation. I am glad they were not named, because sometimes we think that God only comes to people with titles. But because they were left unnamed, that means God will show up to any one of us. We don't have to have a title. The bishop, the apostle. All you got to do is be walking in the right direction, asking the right questions. And then all of a sudden, here comes Jesus showing up so that you can see him not just in his words, but this is important in the breaking of the bread. It was in the communion reenactment. It was in sitting at the table. Pause. Anybody understand that there's a table set and you are invited to it. Nobody can keep you from the table of God. He is waiting to break bread with you. So I just want to drop that in there.
Pastor Don
I love that. I love that. Come on. Can we give God praise? And then, Pastor Don, we kind of were inching from Acts, chapter number one. What, What. What were the instructions that the Master gave them?
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
I think one of the great things he does is he says, wait. And I think that's the biggest problem for all of us. Not some of us, all of us. He says, go back to Jerusalem, as your grandmama say, sit down somewhere and wait. Watch this. But not only you're waiting, you're getting ready to receive a gift. And you shall be witnesses unto me. But I think the thing is, when he said, you're going to be witnesses, if we look at today's common law. So there are fact witnesses, there's expert witness, and there's character witnesses. A fact witness is somebody says, what I saw, what I heard. An expert witness said, let me tell you what I specialize in. A character witness says, hold it. No, no, let me testify about the reputation of the party. So when he says, you're going to be a witness, there are three different categories. You can fall under either what you saw, you heard, what you can say, I'm specializing in, or you can talk about the reputation of how good God has been to you. So he says one of those things. You're going to fall under one of these witnesses, but don't go too early, because you don't have the power yet. We're not talking about that power right now. You don't have the power just yet. So he says, go back. And he says, because you're going to be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and Almost Part of the Earth. Well, here's what's important about topography. Jerusalem is home first. In other words. He says, you're going to start a witness, but it's going to start at home. Okay, I'm a hover right there for just one second. You're going to be a witness, but it starts in your house.
Pastor Cora
Yeah.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Don't try to win the world if you haven't tried to win home first.
Pastor Cora
Yeah.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
So you want to be a glory outside.
Pastor Cora
Come on here.
Pastor Don
Come on here.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
So, no, I'm not gonna bother that, because that's those instructions. We don't want to do that. We want to get it out of order. We want the world to celebrate us and be a buffoon at home.
Pastor Cora
Yep.
Pastor Don
Holy Ghost, listen, you. We. We're going to talk about coming back to Jerusalem at home. But you just. You just made me think of my 10 second testimony. Many moons ago, in the first few years of my marriage, I was acting up, and I told my wife, don't you know any. I could have anyone. Don't you know that? She said, they don't live with you.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Oh, Lord.
Pastor Don
She said, they don't know what you're like at home. That's my testimony. That's 20 plus years. That's my testimony. Make sure that your home is right, Lord. I had to get that right, Dr. Crumman. So they are commissioned to wait in Jerusalem. And then you begin to talk about the feast, the Feast of Weeks, Feast of Pentecost. Can you delve into what this feast was about?
Dr. Val
Yeah, so. So put my screens up. You can take pictures of these screens and scroll it up. Put my screens up so we can talk about what the Feast of Weeks was.
Pastor Cora
Scroll it up.
Dr. Val
Yeah. Oh, yeah. First lady, scroll it up. So the Feast of Weeks, which we call Pentecost, was not called Pentecost. That's not an Old Testament term. It was called, in fact. And we'll talk about it in a minute. Three different things. And the first one, the one we are familiar with, is the Feast of Weeks. But this is what set these celebrations aside from other gods. And this is key, because when you read the Ten Commandments, it makes sense to you. The deities of other people, they were honored and observed by the places and things or the idols and the images. But we do the Feast of Weeks, or the Jews did the feast of Weeks because they celebrated the God of events. He wasn't celebrated by places or people or things. He was celebrated by what he brought them out of, what he brought them through, what he was taking them to and he wanted them to remember the things that he had done. So he was celebrated as the God of events, not the God of places and things. Next slide. So here's some of the things that happened. We've been talking about it, of course, we've been talking about it for the last 50 days almost. The. The what the Jew, the Jewish men had to do was the all able bodied Jewish men had to travel to Jerusalem to attend this particular celebration and they had to present an offering of new grain to the Lord. And there here are the three that they had to do, or three of the most important ones they had to do. They had to wave two loaves of two tenths of an ephah, which was made out of fine flour baked with leaven. So we'll talk about unleavened later. Then they had to offer seven first year lambs that were without blemish, along with one young bull and two rams. They also, during this whole time, when it at the end, when they got to Pentecost, when it was time for harvest, which we'll talk about shortly, they were required to leave corners of the field untouched and not gather any of those because they were leaving those for the poor and for the stranger. So what Pastor Oscar just talked about was although those two men weren't named, they were a part of the table. And so although we have the poor and the stranger among us, it doesn't matter. They are part of the table. Next slide. So Old Testament. Here are the three names that Pentecost look like in Old Testament.
Pastor Don
Ha.
Dr. Val
Shavot is the first one, which is the festival of weeks. And just to talk about the word Shavuot, it means weeks, not days, which takes us to the Sabbath, which means weeks, not days. We'll talk about that later. But it was celebrated on the 50th day after the waving of the Omar of Bari barley. And the Jews were commanded to count the days. They were commanded to count the days leading up to the feast from the Passover to Pentecost. That's what we've been doing here since Easter. It's counting the days. And Pentecost, or the Feast of Weeks, was the second of three feasts. And it correlates, sorry, with the giving of the Law over on Mount Sinai.
Pastor Don
It.
Dr. Val
And this was so key to me, I think I brought this up last week. During this time, the Jews rehearsed the Book of Ruth and the Ten Commandments over and over. The Book of Ruth and the Ten Commandments. Why? Because this was an Agricultural celebration. And the 50 days, this is key. And the 50 days was the same as the weight in Acts 2 or Acts 1. So 50 days, they had to count 50 days, right? They counted the 50. And during that 50, they had to wait. And so that waiting was in correlation to What? Waiting Acts 2 up in the upper room, it was called the joy of waiting.
Dr. Oscar
Can I add something to that?
Dr. Val
Absolutely.
Dr. Oscar
So, and so, if we remember when we talked a couple of weeks ago, Jesus on the. On when Jesus is getting ready to ascend, it is 40 days. And we talked about that word that, the number 40, that 40 being preparation. So Jesus is with them walking and showing himself for 40 days. He gets to the 40th day. And we correlated that to all of the other 40 that we see. Preparation. All of we, the. The Israelites in the wilderness, 40 years, we see all of this. And so now they're 10 days from the last time they saw Jesus as they journey back to Jerusalem. Now they're waiting, which is their tradition. They're not waiting. They're waiting for the promise. But it's their custom to wait anyway because they were already in feast mode. I just wanted to drop that in so that we remember those correlations.
Dr. Val
Okay. And so we talked about the feast of Weeks. Now here is what's. What's key. We celebrate it as one day, but it's actually the entire seven weeks, because hog means feast, and the name after talks about the seven weeks. So after it was called the feast of Weeks, now it changes. I think it was after the fall of the temple. It came to be known as hog habit. Karam. And I might have said that. Right, so you understand. All right. But it is the feast of first fruits. How many have heard of the feast of first Fruits? All right, so during that time is when the firstborn, the animal or crop, during whatever season it was that they had to be offered to God and they had to have a holy convocation. During that time, they weren't allowed to fast. They weren't allowed to do anything but rest from their labor. All right, next one. The Old Testament number three. So it had a third name, and it was called Hog Hakath. Seer. I can't say it. Hog Hakasia. You got Jewish in you, don't you?
Pastor Cora
Okay, better than anybody else in here going to be able to pronounce it. Keep going until you're good. You're good.
Dr. Val
The big H. And it is the feast of the harvest. So this is what brings us up to what we're going to be celebrating this weekend, which is the end of the barley season and the beginning of the wheat season season, which is an agricultural cycle. So you rest from your labor, you get ready to reap the harvest, and then you live in abundance. Right, Next slide. So here's. Here's something I just wanted to throw at you during this, because during the feast of Pentecost or the feast of weeks, or the feast of first fruits or the feast of the harvest, there are three things that happen. There are three sendings, all right? There is the offer offering of first fruits, where it is representative of, and I just talked about it a screen or two ago, where they had to offer up a firstborn, whether that was an animal, whether that was a crop, or whether that was a person that is relative to God sending his son. That was. He was the firstborn of many creature. Two, they had the host a convocation. During that convocation, they were waiting. So the Holy Ghost, which is tonight, what we're going to talk about, was sent to make disciples. And finally, the reaping of the harvest was when the disciples are sent to reap the souls of the harvest. So we got three scents going on, three sendings. God sent his son, the Holy Ghost came and sent. The Holy Ghost was sent to make disciples, and then those disciples are sent out to reap the harvest of souls. Next slide. I think that's all I got.
Pastor Don
Come on, y'. All, Give it up. Come on.
Dr. Oscar
Can we underscore. It's something that you. That you said. So types and shadows is what we see, is what we just saw in there. And there's something, I just want to underscore that there is the correlation between the law given Moses, the Torah here. We see on Mount Sinai these 10 Commandments that are given. We see a direct correlation from the fire that was engulfing the mountain to the fire that we're going to talk about tonight. It is not by happenstance. So remember, this is the same time frame. They're in Jerusalem. They're celebrating Passover. They're celebrating as Dr. Crumpton brought up these feasts. But you have to see how there's a type and shadow of Moses ascending to the mountain, getting the law of God and the law of God coming back down to the people. We see God ascending on a mountain. And in a minute, we're going to talk about how the law of God not written on tablets anymore, is. Is getting ready to get written on the hearts of people coming from the same place. And so God is showing us that's why I love the Scripture, because all through the Old Testament and we've heard this before, Jesus is concealed. We see him and we've talked about it, elements of how we see Jesus in certain aspects. And then we get over into the New Testament and we start. We see Jesus as the human being walking. And then we start to see other types and shadows that when he leaves, he said, I'm not going to leave you comfortable list, but I'm going to send you back power. And it's the same picture as the Israelites waiting to get the word and the law of God, waiting and seeing fire and smoke on the mountain.
Pastor Don
So let's go there. Can we go to Acts chapter? We'll come right back to some of the questions. Let's go to Acts chapter number two, verses one through four, so that we can read it and put it in context. Quick review. Jesus is alive after resurrection for 40 days with many infallible proof, still doing miracles, signs, wonders, the glory of God. So Jesus is alive how long after the cross? 40 days. And then they're going to wait and we what we call the upper room. Pastor Don talked about this. They're waiting in Jerusalem for 10 days. 4, 40 plus 10 is going to give us the 50, which is the 7 times 7. 7 times 7 is 49. So the 50th day after is Pentecost. Let's read the text and then we're just going to dive in when this is Acts chapter number two, verse number one. This is our new King James Version. It should collaborate both together. When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. Now, it's difficult to get everybody in your house on one accord, but this is saying that they were all on one accord. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind. And it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided. The King James says, cloven tongues as of fire. And one sat upon each of them. The Bible says it sat upon each of them. Oh, Lord, have mercy. Last verse. And they were all filled with the I say the Holy Ghost. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit. And. And begin to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Ladies and gentlemen, this is probably the most important Bible study that you will ever attend. You need the Holy Spirit. You need the Holy Ghost. You need this power we're going to talk about. You need this filling, this indwelling. You need this kabat, this glory of God must Be in you. Jesus says, I'm gonna pass this to Pastor Don. And it just. Everybody's gonna rip this. I can feel it right now. I'm just. I'm a kid in the candy store. I'm just. I'm. I'm. I got some spiritual popcorn. I'm just watching my friends, getting ready to dive in. The Bible Sundays, particularly John 16. You can read John 14, but particularly Jesus says, I'm with you right now, but I shall be in you. Oh, God. Lord have mercy. It's one thing I shout because God is with me, but it's a whole other thing when he is in me. Oh, God. Maybe that's sometimes why I get corrected. That's sometimes why I get chastened. That's sometimes while I get rebuked. I know you want the Holy Ghost to give you power, but what you don't realize is that the power sometimes is restraint. We're going to talk about the power. I just. This is my own. Let me. Let me. Let me just. Pastor Don, what's going on in this text, man? I can't handle it. I'm going to get in trouble.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
So before I dive into this text, I want to dive into that question.
Pastor Don
Go back to.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Yeah, that question says Pastor Don said
Pastor Cora
that's what he said. But that's not. You didn't say that, though.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
That. That's the. The person said, pastor Don say the book of Johnson. I didn't.
Pastor Don
It's the Book of Johnson.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
No, Pastor Don said it starts at your house. But the big book said that as my sister said. But no, she said. They said Pastor Don said it starts at the house. The Bible says a prophet is not honored in his own home. What do you do when your home doesn't recognize or acknowledge your gifts?
Pastor Cora
Hometown. It didn't say.
Pastor Don
It didn't.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Yeah, it said home. Right now they talk about hometown.
Dr. Oscar
Yeah.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
So different. Two different places because home and hometown. Because my home. Dallas.
Pastor Cora
Yeah, but you go ahead and you take.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
But I'm gonna say this. There's. There's so many layers to that that I think we're kind of omitting in that question. I understand what you're saying. I think one of the things. If we take that scripture, there's a spirit called the spirit of familiality. Sometimes people get so familiar with you that they don't accept your gift. Sometimes people can know so much about you that they don't see you. So I think the thing is, if I can answer short this way, that. That you're supposed to try to win them. I didn't say they would be won them. Winning is a decision they have to make. You trying to win them is a decision you have to make. So in other words, you can't force yourself on them. You can only show them the glory. Whether they accept the glory is up to them. Hence, why he tells the disciples, if they don't accept you, brush your hands off, brush your feet off, and baby, keep it moving. So what I would probably say to you, the Bible says, hometown, you're not accepting your own hometown. However, if you're not accepted in your own home, I probably would pray that God, like I said on Sunday, that God will open up the eyes of those who are in your home, that they may recognize and see your gift. But even if they don't see it, even if they don't recognize it, you still gift it, even if they don't accept it. I'm so glad I don't have to wait for people to accept my gift or validate my gift to prove that I am gifted. Oftentimes, the people that don't accept your gift are jealous of your gift because they want your gift. So. So they try to pull you down to their level so you don't operate in the gift that God gave you. But my argument is this. If you argue with fools long enough, eventually you're gonna be one. Know it, leave it. See, I'm probably the wrong person ask that question. Because I was like, you ain't got to recognize my gifts.
Pastor Cora
That that's what I'm gonna say. I think that we get too caught up in wanting to be recognized. And it's not even really about that. You don't really have to recognize my gift. It's the same thing with female pastors. Like, you don't really have to recognize that it's happening. It's happening. You know, like, you don't have to acknowledge it, but it's going forth. It is happening. And so people don't have to validate what God gave a yes to. And if it does, in fact, start in your house, you need to make sure that your gift is not more effective to the world than it is to your daughter, to your son, to your spouse, to your sister, to your brother. How dare you be more effective in saving the people outside of your home than you are the people within your home. And so I believe that it is important that you have just as much desire to say, God, make my gift effective in my house before you make me effective in the world. Because what good is it for you to be effective to the world, but your daughter is suicidal? What good is it for you to be effective to the world, but your son is struggling with what. What good is it? And so I don't think that you want to be recognized. I think you need to be received and, and push until you do.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
And I don't want you to be distracted because sometimes home can distract you. Be careful because it almost sounds like you're waiting on the applause of them. I said it Sunday. If their applause will fuel you, their criticism will kill you.
Dr. Val
You.
Pastor Cora
It's true.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
I'm. Listen, I want to win my home. I really do. I want you to win your hometown. I want you to put forth every effort you need to attempt to win them. But just in case, if it don't, they don't work. Don't let it stop you.
Dr. Val
Don't let it stop you. And I want to add to what they just said. There's. There's so many dynamics to this, but one I want you to keep in mind, sweetie, that Jesus's siblings thought he was crazy and they knew it was something about him from the age of 12. And he was the oldest of how many siblings and they thought he was crazy. So don't allow your family, don't worry about your family accepting your gift. Cause normally they don't. Normally. So there's so many different dynamics to this. What you really want is their support. And they know who you are whether they accept you or not. So there's, there's too much tonight to talk about this one scripture. But just to let you know, Jesus's family thought he was crazy too.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
So. Acts chapter two, as you asked me.
Pastor Don
Yeah, because. Because I think this is the upper room experience. Perhaps you're in an upper room with 120 people and you are praying, seeking God. You're fasting like we're fasting right now up until May 31st. And one of the questions that you ask yourself is, am I being honorable to God? Is my character and my integrity in check? What was happening in the upper room?
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
The one thing that I am excited about is that this is a generation that know I don't. Power don't come without preparation.
Pastor Don
You.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
You have to be prepared for the power. You. You have to want this. And so many times people are praying for something that they're not prepared for. Okay, let me put this way. God doesn't give you according to what you pray for. He gives you according to what you can manage. Yeah, I'm gonna say that again. He will not give you according what you pray for. He gives you according to what you can manage. You would not give your child more than they can manage, especially if you know it would kill them. So what he says, I'm gonna give you something, but you got to be prepared for it. And are you willing to wait in a room with people who you've walked with, who you cried with, who you were uncomfortable with, who you argued with, who you fought with, but still be on one accord? How can you grab your family and say, okay, let's get on one accord? See, one accord is not being up to sing together. You can be in different places in the room and still be on one accord. The question is, how do mentally, spiritually, emotionally, we get on one accord so that power that can rest on our house, so that changes can come about. See, I'm about transformation, not just motivation. When we leave here, we're going to change lives. And this how we going to do it? Because Pentecost is not a new holiday. No, this is normal for them. This is customary for them.
Pastor Don
This is a custom.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
This is already being done. So what God is doing is adding value again to what's already being done. And I'm gonna say this. I'm probably gonna get in trouble right here.
Pastor Cora
Say that God is adding boundaries.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Value.
Pastor Cora
Value. I was about to say. Wait a minute.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
No value.
Pastor Cora
Boundaries.
Pastor Don
To glory.
Pastor Cora
Hold tight.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
I might work that, though. That might work. That might work. But it's to make us think that the Bible says they began to speak in other tongues. We do know that's not a heavenly language you're talking about, right?
Pastor Don
Flow, ammo.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Okay, that's fine, but that's not Acts, chapter two. The Bible says, as the Spirit gave them utterance, which means they were even subject to the instructions to speak only what the Spirit told them to speak and who he told him to speak it to. Because we're not going to get down there. But the text says other people understood them. So God gives you a language that other people can understand. I want to be a millionaire. God will give you a language that millionaires understand. God says every ecosystem has a language. Come to the hood, the hood has a language. Go to Wall Street. Wall street has a language. Every culture has a language. You come to my house, it has a language. I'mma prove to you. You come to my house and you want to play spades, you better turn your volume up. You better turn it up. Because if you say, oh, no, I know you don't get talk, go over. Because there's a language when it come. And I say that to be funny, but every culture has a language. God says, in other words, to infiltrate the culture or to go into the culture, I got to give you a language that you haven't learned. So let me give you a power from on high to speak the language of where you're going. And some of us won't submit to
Dr. Oscar
the power on high.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
So I can speak a language where I'm going. I want. You always talk about investments and money. If you want to be a multimillionaire, you better learn the language or you will be broke real fast. Oh, what you gonna do with your money? I'm gonna go buy a house and buy me a car and put it in the bank. Yeah, you're gonna be broke. You're gonna be broke real fast. Because I think the Holy Ghost. I don't want to minimize it and say it's church. It's bigger than that. He says, one accord. I'm calling you to the world. I'm giving you power to win the world. Church. That's what I love about the potter's house. There's so much power in this house because everybody speak different languages here. Yeah, we're translated in 90 different languages. Okay.
Pastor Don
No, that's fire. Because even right now, there's a reason why they call them candles in terms of investing. I wonder if it's a candle of the Holy Ghost.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
It's just. Just me now. See, watch this. Somebody that don't know that, they probably think you to my candles at home that you like.
Pastor Don
No, I'm talking about candles in terms of red or green stock going up, stop going down. What? Depending on your strategy. So we're talking about these tongues you dipped over into it. Dr. Oscar, Dr. Val. How strategic. Because Dr. Val, you ripped it to shreds. Talking about feast of weeks.
Dr. Oscar
Before we get to the tongue, can we go back? You asked something about the room. We were talking about who's in the room.
Pastor Don
Yes.
Dr. Oscar
Can we. Can we underscore that a little?
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Absolutely.
Pastor Don
I'm not going to run past. I just said the strategy of God to bring everybody together doing this feast of weeks, feast of harvest, so that different people. Jews. The text says Jews from every country at that time were in Jerusalem. The strategy of God.
Dr. Oscar
Yeah. So a few things. We have a slide just showing the regions. Yeah, you can go to the next one. The regions that were there. There we go. Every nation at that time under heaven. So we see from the north Asia Minor we have Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, Phrygia, Pamphylia. We have in the Mediterranean, strangers of Rome. These are Cretans. We have down at the South Africa, Arabia, that's Egypt, Libya. And I know it's a little small, but if you take a picture of it and large it up, you should be able to see it. Then we have the Persian Empire, Medes, Elamites, dwellers in Mesopotamia. And what this represents that remember now, contextually, let's go back to 1st century AD where all of the known people everywhere, they're coming from all over. These are devout men. These are Jews. So these are people who have followed the Torah. These are not unbelievers. These are not people who are not familiar with the law. So all coming to Jerusalem are people who have been following the feast, people who have been following the Torah, people who understand. So they're all converging in this place. And Jesus tells all the disciples that he's seen, Corinthians tells us over 500. He gives them all the same message, go back to Jerusalem. Go back. This is what I love about that. Go back, back. Submit to 10 represents law and discipline. 10 is the number of law and discipline. Jesus is saying, submit, be disciplined. Because in order for you to handle the power, you could get it. I could have gave it to you on the mountain, but I need you to go back, follow the feast, because I want to show them something in the place where they don't believe. So sometimes it's not about. And Pastor Don was alluding to it, sometimes it's. It's not just about getting, getting the power, but do you have discipline and the capacity to hold on to the power? Because I want you to remember that number. 500. 500 saw him. 120 came to the upper room. Come on, say that 500 saw Jesus after he was resurrected, got the message, go back, go back, go back. But only 120 followed what he said. Because sometimes we're excited about the message, but we don't have the discipline and the obedience to follow the message to where it sent us. Because going back to Jerusalem, for some was going back to grief. Going back to Jerusalem was going back to where their savior was killed. Going back to Jerusalem was tradition. And some people want to break out of that. They want to. They saw Jesus and went about their merry way. But the blessing only came to those who had the. The discipline to go back to the meeting place in the upper room. 120 or there. There's something that Pastor Don was saying The Bible says one accord. That's a musical term. What I love about it is a card is made up of different notes so that the upper room was not made up of the same type of people. The upper room was made up of fishermen's and lodge choirs and people from here, people with degrees and people with no degrees. People who had the discipline to believe they were just in one card, which means they were aligned in one place. Not all the same, not from the same denomination, not from the same city. Kind of like all of us sitting in here, we all come from different places, but we found a way to get into the same card. And if you know anything about music, a card produces harmony. So what they were saying is not only were they in alignment, but there was harmony in the upper room. That was harmony. Nobody was trying to be dissonant. Nobody was trying to be in control. Nobody was trying to be have the mic. Nobody was. Nobody was stepping out of line and stepping out of harmony. Everybody was lined up and they were waiting. They did not know that in 10 days the prophecy would be fulfilled. There was no time clock on the waiting period. He just said, go back and wait. And sometimes we want God to give us the expiration date to our waiting. And God is saying, discipline comes when you can just take my word and wait on me.
Pastor Don
Listen, you might as well not stop. First of all, what I loved about what you were saying, they go from 500 to 120. It's 24%. It is amazing how the 100. I'm sorry, y' all know how I think. I'm sorry. He set me up, y'. All. Yeah, he set me up.
Dr. Oscar
He hadn't given us no numbers tonight, so I had to give him something
Pastor Don
to give us some numbers.
Dr. Oscar
Y' all know y' all missed the numbers.
Pastor Don
He set me up. He set me up. But the beauty and the strategy of God is that he had everybody come to one place to be on one accord. But the reason we point out for 100% to 24%, because some of you have lost 70%, 76% of the people that were around you, 76% of the people who started out with you. What happened to all the people who said that they believed in you, but they didn't carry the journey, they didn't carry the legacy, they didn't have the faith to wait. For some reason, we get frustrated when 76% of people leave us and we discount the 24% that God blessed us with.
Pastor Cora
Yeah, it's true.
Pastor Don
Could it be possible that you're in a relationship complaining about somebody who left you, but you're not thanking God for the husband that's there, the wife that's there. Could it be possible that you are discounting what you have?
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
I want to tie what you and Dr. Oscar just said together. We spent so much time worrying about the 76%. And I think I love the way Oscar put it when he said, it's a cord that they play together. What if. What if the other 380 would messed up the cord?
Dr. Oscar
Absolutely, they would have.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
So why are you. Why are you mad that God caused people to leave out of your life that would have messed up your cord?
Pastor Cora
Come on, here.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
So now you got to learn how to celebrate. So now less is great to where you're hanging on to what you need. And God is trying to make sure your chord is right. And your chord has to play because if anything plays off, you're going to hear it. So if you hear it, then now you're going to mess up the sound. So if you mess up the sound, you're going to create your sound and not his sound.
Dr. Oscar
So it becomes. It becomes out of tune.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Right?
Dr. Oscar
Anything that's not in alignment is out of tune. Which means I can't hear heaven if everything around me is out of tune. Because anything out of tune creates noise. And noise crowds out the voice of God. That's why I had to quiet the noise, get my life in alignment, come in one accord. Because I'm having to learn a different language.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
So wait a minute. If that's the case, then now there's boundaries. To God glory.
Pastor Don
Listen, before we go to this question, I gotta bring in Dr. Val because you're an excellent singer. You know, I love hearing your voice. Yes, it has soothed my spirit. Come on. Am I the only one? It has soothed my spirit for years. Dr. Val, before we go into this question, what do we do when people want to sing solos? When God call for an ensemble or a mass choir.
Dr. Val
Why did you do that? Why did you do that?
Pastor Don
I'm just asking a question. I knew you would know.
Dr. Val
The Bible say, make a joyful noise. And so. But seriously, people that don't have. And this is more a Dr. Oscar question, people that don't have the tone, who are tone deaf, who hear it but can't make the sound come out, so they hear what you're saying and they're trying to duplicate what you're saying, but because they don't have what you have, they cannot give what you can give.
Pastor Cora
Come on here.
Pastor Don
I'm about to take off. Can you say that again? Wait, but you said they don't have what you have, so they can't give what you give. So why are you expecting people to give you what they don't have? I'm sorry. Go ahead.
Dr. Oscar
Can I.
Dr. Val
No, go ahead.
Dr. Oscar
Because they can hear the same sound, but if the hearing is. Is defected, if what they are taking in. Because we all have the same ears. But when tone depth just. Just simply means there is a disconnect between what you heard and then what was translated to the brain, that makes the sound distinguishable, which means there has to be a reconstruction in your hearing. That's why our faith is low sometimes. Because faith cometh by hearing and. And hearing the word of God. If your faith is low, that means something is wrong with your hearing. It is not the word that is defected. It is your hearing that is defected. And you got to ask God. God, get into my inner ear. There is something that I need corrected in how I'm hearing you so that my faith can grow. Because here's the thing, and it brings us back to this. We learn language by what we hear. They couldn't speak unless they heard. That's why they needed a sound. If something is wrong with your hearing, you won't be able to speak to the people that God has sent you because there will be distortion in your ear. Have you ever been listening anybody? Sometimes if the music is too loud, my ear will get distorted and you hear this crumbling sound that means something needs to turn down so that I can hear clearly. They came back to Jerusalem. I don't want us to miss this. They came back. Part of coming back to Jerusalem is that they had to come to a place that they knew the language first before they went out. Jerusalem represents discipline to understand the language we've been talking about, hometown, home. There is a language that you have to master in your home first before God sends you to the nation. Pastor Don talked about it. You got to understand, what language do I have to speak to the people God has called me to? The language I speak now may not work for them. So I have to go back and wait to hear the right word and sound so that when I go, I can speak what I heard.
Dr. Val
So I want to add to that. Just give me a minute so I can teach people to hear. I can teach people to hear a tone and sing it. People that really want to learn, oh, my God can learn. They can really. And sitting in the upper room waiting was giving them that Time to be quiet so they could hear. And so, because. Just because you can't sing doesn't mean you cannot sing. It means if you have the desire to hear, then I can teach your ear. He that hath an ear, let him hear.
Dr. Oscar
He that has the ability to hear. He that hath an ear, not just a physical ear, but he that has a desire to hear. You were able to hear what the spirit is saying completely to the church.
Dr. Val
And the sound they heard in the upper room came because they were quieted, Their spirits were quieted. They were in the place with one accord, meaning one ear trying to hear the same thing. And so when the sound dropped. I'm trying. When the sound dropped in the upper room, and it dropped in a way that although they all spoke different languages, they all heard the same thing.
Pastor Don
I have a question now to the question.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Well, I. Well, I have a question I want to ask Pastor Cora.
Dr. Val
One sound, different language.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
You had a. A few Wednesdays ago, worship broke out, and you broke out in this song, and you just started singing, and it was. It just kind of flowed. I. I don't think it was a song that was recorded. You just kind of. So even you were hearing something and it just came out. What puts you in that posture to hear God like that? And it creates a sound, even though it comes out as music.
Pastor Cora
I think for me, that's always been how I communicated with God. Like, when I was younger, whenever I was in trouble, I would sing to him and he would sing back to me. And so we developed a relationship of intimacy and worship. When I was in trouble, when I was scared, when I was lonely, when I was in despair, I would sing to God and He would sing back and everything to me. Tad Tribbit's song was a song that ministered to me so much as a teenager. Like, that was like the worship melody for me as a teenager. Teenager. Everything to me, above all, like, just all of his worship experiences were very, very strong. But my ear was more inclined to tell God from my heart to him what I was feeling and then be open and in a position to hear back what he would say in response.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
I love that because when you said your ear. Most of us think our ears are just meant to hear, but it's also meant to respond.
Pastor Cora
Yeah.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
So you. When I hear something, you need to respond. So even if you're teaching one of the songs, I need to respond. I need to know what you hear. What are you hearing? Sing it back to me. Say it back to me. Show me that you love me. And I think that's one of the things that happens even in this text. So when it, when a sound, when it falls, there's a response to the sound. And most of us, we don't have an information problem. We have an execution problem. So we hear God. But how are we responding? See, responding isn't always fun. Sometimes responding is. Do good to them that don't like you.

Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Don't. Don't tell me you got the Holy Ghost when you just got to do good to everybody, right? The Holy Ghost will tell you how to talk to somebody who does not. Does not like you. How to love. Oh, yeah. See, we're not shouting on this one. This is. No, because the Holy Ghost is a teacher also. He teaches you how to work in an ecosystem even when people don't like you. How to survive in that ecosystem. See that? That's what the Holy Ghost does. He says, you're uncomfortable.
Pastor Cora
Fine.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Be uncomfortable. I'm gonna sit you right here and I'M gonna let them not like you. And I still want you to love them.
Pastor Cora
Them.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
That's. That's the Holy Ghost.
Pastor Don
Oh, that's so good. And I think all of this ties into one of the questions we have, because I want to tie what Pastor Cora has prepared tonight as it relates to the power of God. Our sister Shan Chantelle says, how do you find the language in your home when you feel you're speaking and not being heard? Do I keep Jesus, I. I hear my spirit screaming and nobody heard me. Do I keep speaking and fighting or do I give up? How many of y' all have that qu. She. She's not the only one. How many of you all have this question in the audience? Raise your hand. Okay, I see several hands. Pastor Cor, can you answer this and then tie in the power here? Because I think you can't have power without language.
Pastor Cora
Absolutely. I think the problem here is that you're speaking and you need to be letting God speak through you. The Bible says that wisdom screams in the street out loud, hoping that someone would hear. And so I think that it is important for you to understand that just being because your wisdom is screaming doesn't mean that everybody is going to hear it, doesn't mean that everybody's going to receive it. You can have power and not use it. Often we have power we are not using. It's not a lack of power given. It is a lack of power used. And so you find your language by finding his. And when you find his language, then you begin to speak his language. And his. His sheep know his voice, not yours. So if they're not responding, if they're not listening, then you may not be speaking in the language that they know. Because his sheep know. Not learning, not trying to understand, not being taught they know his voice, and a stranger, they will not follow the. So it is important that when you're speaking, you're not speaking from what you want them to hear, but you're speaking from what you heard God say. And you are using yourself as a vessel to speak what God would have done in your home. And do you keep speaking? No. You would probably need to hush and begin to ask God to speak louder so that you can strategy strategically fight and effectively win your household without your ego and his anointing being attached.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
And just in case, if this is a marriage question, if you're anywhere locally in the Dallas area, you can join us in our small group marriage in motion. Tuesday at 7 o'. Clock.
Pastor Cora
There is a lot of stories as we are on the road to Pentecost. When we get to the room of Pentecost, there's a lot of things that happen to give us access to this power. Ultimately, that is the experience that they all receive in this room is an experience of the power of God's glory. So after we have gone down the road, the road is right, really leading us to power. And if you all know me, I have an acronym because that's how I teach, right? So if we looked at power from the road of Pentecost and how you are to prepare for the expectancy of God's glory, one of the things that they all did was they got themselves in position. They were already in place before the outpouring. So you don't want to miss the poor trying to get in position. You want to get in position before the outpouring. So your power is in how you are positioned. That is, first and foremost, how am I positioned in the room before he even pours out his spirit? How is my heart posture? How is my spirit posture? How is my. My mind postured for this moment? The O is open. You have to be open. They made room for God to move. A lot of times we're not making room for God to move. We're just complaining about him not moving. We are upset. We are. We are not. There is no joy in the waiting for us. We are upset about the waiting. They made room for God to move. We will wait for you to move. We don't mind waiting for you to move. We actually will have joy in waiting for you to move. We won't be impatient about you moving. We will open up our heart, our mind, our spirit to receive the movement of God. The W is your work and your worship. Because if without faith, without work, without worship, without all of it together, you ain't getting nothing. Okay? They weren't passive. They were active in ministry and worship. They made sure they were on one accord or cord. Either one you want to want to move with. Okay? You could be on one accord, hard, you could be on one accord, but either way, you want to be on one. Okay.
Pastor Don
Same sound. Same sound.
Pastor Cora
You want to be on one, okay. That work and that worship comes together to move God in you. It shows God my spirit wants you to pour. My spirit needs this glory. My. My atmosphere, fear, and where I'm at in my life right now needs this kind of glory, this kind of experience. Our E is empowering. They strengthen others behind the scenes. So what are you doing behind the scenes to gather souls to tell people about Jesus to tell them about his character. What kind of. Kind of witness are you being behind the scenes? Yeah, anybody can grab the mic and be shiny on the platform, but when the doors close and the lights are out and you're out in the grocery store, how do people experience the empowerment of God in you? So they're. They empowered. And then the R, which I thought was really, really great, is raising. They built legacy, not just moments. And we are living in the legacy of my father. My father passed on power to my sister. She is standing in the power of the road that he took for her. He planned out every single moment and every single step to lead her to this place of legacy, to this place of power, to this place of breakthrough. He positioned Sarah. He opened Sarah, he worked with Sarah. He put worship in Sarah. He empowered Sarah. He imparted into Sarah, and he raised her up in spite of the negativity, despite the people wanting her to sit down because she was a teenage person, pregnant woman, she was able to be raised in the legacy of power because she was open to receive it. And now we enter this room of Pentecost, this room where everyone's going to come together. This room where everyone's going to be positioned, this room where everyone's going to be open, where they're going to be working, worshiping, where they're going to be empowered, where they're going to be standing in what they were raised to carry on. And what will be uttered in the language of this room that we enter into. What kind of power will the house illuminate when we all get on one accord?
Pastor Don
The.
Pastor Cora
The expectancy for Sunday is about power. We don't want to come into this sanctuary with just regular Pentecost Sunday expectancy. We want to come in having walked this road, y'.
Pastor Don
All.
Pastor Cora
We have walked this road. We learned about Thomas, we learned about the women. We learned about the road. We want to walk into this service knowing that the expectation expectancy of our spirit is waiting on the power of God to show up in such a way that we be transformed in a supernatural way. This gave them a different language. When you get into the power of God, it should change the way you speak. It should change the way you work. It should change. Change the way you walk. It should change the way you position. An encounter with God should change you, not just for a moment, but for a legacy.
Pastor Don
Listen, listen, listen.
Dr. Val
They let me get to it, y'.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
All.
Pastor Cora
I got to get to my slide.
Pastor Don
Can we give God glory for the power? Come on.
Dr. Oscar
We going to bow I got it.
Pastor Don
Listen, I'm going to ask for permission because something has been burning in my heart, and I can only do, like, one minute each. Dr. Val, what was it like when you were in your upper room experience when you got filled with the Holy Ghost?
Dr. Val
Yes.
Pastor Don
As well as Dr. Oscar, as well as Pastor Don.
Dr. Val
So. So, yeah. So that this question has been burning in me sitting right here is how do we handle how the church received the Holy Ghost in our time? Because we actually didn't speak in the language of the different people in the room, but we spoke a language. And I don't want us to. I don't want to. I'm not talking about us, but I don't want this generation to dumb down the fact that there is a feeling that happens right in the Spirit on April 10, 1968.
Pastor Don
Come on here. Come on.
Dr. Val
I was in a room, literally, with my two nieces. And we had learned, and my mom and daddy were at church, but they left us home on a Tuesday night. And so we got down on our knees and began to tarry for the Holy Ghost. And we were tarrying. I know a lot of y' all don't know nothing about that, but tarrying at the time was, thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus that was waiting for the Holy Ghost. And just quickly, I looked at my niece on either side of me, both of them, and I said, lord, I said, they're working so hard. And when I said it, the Holy Ghost picked me up off of the floor and I began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave me utterance. I was 12 years old. I didn't understand. I didn't know. But I knew something had happened in my life. I was filled with the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues. Now, what do we do with that in this day?
Pastor Don
We used to clap for that. Glory to God. Right?
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Right.
Pastor Don
I'm excited.
Dr. Val
We used to have church.
Pastor Don
You know, it's powerful when you can name the date. But.
Dr. Val
But what do we do with that now? Because you can ask somebody, well, when were you. When did you receive the Holy Ghost? Or when did you receive? And they don't have a date. They don't have a time. They just know that there was a change. And so how do we deal with that in this day and time? That's all. My question.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Question is, I think we need to be Intentional about it. Intentional about kind of echoing that moment. That's a special. We teach him birthday. We teach them anniversary. Yeah, you should teach about your birth. It's a birth date. Now, I don't remember the exact date, but I remember the month and what was going on. We were in Holy Convocation. Most of y' all know anything about that? We were in Central.
Pastor Don
We.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Dr. Val just talked Holy Convocation, Central Florida, number one. It was a weak revival. Y' all don't know anything about that. Y' all want to get out of church in one day? We were there for five days. Five days. We went church Sunday, came back on Friday. Something happened to me on Monday. I couldn't figure it out. I went the next day. They said, I want you to hear this guy. This guy preached from Chicago. His name is Willie James Campbell.
Dr. Val
Yes, sir.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Yes. So, okay. So y' all know what I'm talking about. I was Willie James Campbell.
Dr. Oscar
I said, man, who is this guy?
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
I just wanted to hear him. I'm a young guy sitting there listening. All of a sudden, something hit me, and I said, what was that? No, I literally thought something hit me. And I turned around, and there was a lady behind me. I said, now, I know that lady ain't hit me like that. Like, no. I looked at my wife. I said, I don't know what's going on. We were sitting probably 10 rows back at Cathedral of Faith, Church of God in Christ. And the Lord said, if it hits you again, just say yes. I was like, okay, that's weird. And I felt the hit again. I said, yes, and I hit the ground. And when I woke up, I was speaking in a tongue that I could not understand. And I said, God, he said, don't stop speaking. I'll teach you later what you just did. But what you want now is don't neglect my presence. Just walk this out. It was August, State meeting. I remembered in the early 90s, to this day, Willie James Campbell.
Pastor Don
Yeah, he's your eyes, Pastor Corey. I don't want to Skip you then, Dr. Oscar.
Pastor Cora
Mine was rec team.
Pastor Don
Rec team. Come on, Old school, yo.
Pastor Cora
The green carpet days. Green carpet.
Pastor Don
Y' all don't know about.
Pastor Cora
Y' all don't know about that green carpet. What? Pastor Kevin Caldwell. Back then, he used to have us in worship, like, drunk in worship. And I can remember looking around the room at all of the other teenagers, peers that were crying, and just, like, really pouring out. And I remember asking God, like, I want to have an encounter like that. Like, I want to cry. You know, I want to feel that kind of presence. And he came over and he began to pray for me. And I same thing, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. And tearing and tearing, tearing. And I remember hitting the floor and I got up and same thing. Started speaking in tongues, started praying in tongues, started having my heavenly language. It wasn't like a big huge in the big sanctuary. It was a quiet little moment. He came over there, he laid hands on me. I dropped to the floor and when I got up, I was filled with the Holy Spirit. The rec team changed my whole, my whole game. Like, I don't think that I would be the in accessory prayer warrior that I am today had it not been
Dr. Oscar
for rectang, you know, so mine is. And I'll say two things that mine is a little different because I was raised in a holiness Pentecostal church. But my encounter and baptism with the Holy Spirit did not come necessarily by just speaking in tongue. And I want to be clear so that we don't give the impression that the only way, you know, if you have the Holy Ghost is if you start speaking in tongue because then you'll leave out confused saying, well, do I have them? That the Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit is a gift given to us. And so mine really came. I remember it was an altar experience, but it was a little different. I was at the altar and I was sitting seeking God. And not so much seeking God in, in like Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, which was a part of some of the traditions, but seeking God to understand, like as a young man, God, what is it that you want me to do? And I remember the preacher came and he whispered in my ear, he said, God said, when you give him a complete yes, you'll be able to do things, write songs, minister like you've never done before. And I was like 14, 15. And I remember saying, God, how do I give you a yes? Because I thought being saved was enough. I thought just, you know, I said, you know, I went down, you know what? And, and I learned that the yes was really surrenderance, that being baptized in the Holy Spirit was asking God to fill me and not just one time, because Paul even talks about it, God, fill me again. So even now I'll wake up in the morning and say, father, to baptize me again with your spirit. Not that you didn't do it right the first time. Not that I didn't get it right the first time, but God, you know, this flesh, I need to be baptized again. I need this, I need, I need to feel your presence again. And, and the one thing I will say in reading this, I saw today, when they enter, the Bible says they go into the upper room. When the Spirit comes, the Word says the whole house was filled. Now, you might think that's semantics with words, but I look it up. It's two different Greek words that are used, which means what they did in the room affected the whole house. Which means when you get it in the space. Some of us are worried about our home. How we saw questions about will my home recognize me? Or how can I say this? Some of you are worried about your children. You, you're worried about your community. And that tells us if you get in a place of discipline and get the power, if you get it where God feels in one room, he'll send it where the whole house will get it.
Dr. Val
I want to say this to that point what Dr. Ostrich just said about and and Pastor Don talked about the yes, which takes us to Acts 2 and 38, where it says repent. Now that repent is not just saying I'm sorrowful. Da da da. It's a turning away. That that is your yes. Your yes is your repentance is your turning away. So when you yield and say yes, you are saying, I'm turning away from. You're not just doing it, but you are. You are declaring, I'm turning away from this. And then you're baptized, right? And then when you're filled with that Holy Spirit, you're filled with it because you. You have said yes. Because you have said yes. And all it takes is a

Dr. Val
All it takes is a yes.
Dr. Oscar
See, see, see, see? The enemy would. Would want us to make it seem like. Or have you hear that. It's complicated. Back to this hearing. And I don't want anybody to leave out of here. Thinking of the gift of the Holy Spirit is a complication. It's not. Is simply surrenderance. It's simply a yes. It is simply. He's not gonna barge in. But once you give him that yes, Pastor Cora said it. Something about the encounter will change the way you communicate. Language is communication. It may not be the tongue that I speak or the tongue he speaks, but something in how you communicate will change, which means I have a different hearing system.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
System.
Dr. Oscar
Because now I can communicate how heaven is communicating to me. That's how you know you've been filled with the spirit when you don't say the stuff that you used to say. Because the Holy Spirit is restraining you and keeping your tongue. And that doesn't represent me. That doesn't represent the fire that's on the inside of you. Because. Because. Because the fire is important. And we may get to that next week that we. I don't want to touch it. But the fire. The fire is important.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
Well, hold on. I'm saying. Pastor. I want to hear Pastor Diamonds, too. You gonna give your testimony, too, about the Holy Ghost.
Dr. Val
You can't get out.
Pastor Don (alternate or additional speaker)
You gonna give yours?
Pastor Don
Listen, I was in college, and I was raised on the block. Many of my colleagues were raised in the church. I wasn't necessarily raised in the church like that. My mother took us to church different seasons of our life. But when I got to college, there was this drawing. And then I began to preach. At 20 years old, I was actually preaching in the prisons with the Nation of Islam at now. They were secretly trying to recruit me, but I was coming in as their Christian brother. And then I began to listen to people like James Moore. Old school. Mighty Clouds of Joy. Mississippi Mass Choir. Y' all too young to remember these people. Chicago Mass Choir. Milton Bronson. Okay, y'. All. Y' all know what I'm talking about. Orlando Draper. And I remember listening to this song by James Moore. And I remember shouting in my dorm room. I'D never shouted before. I didn't know what a shout was. My feet were moving. I remember one of my. My dorm mates came. He said, what you doing? I said, man, I don't know. My feet were just moving. And it began to take on boom, boom, boom. And shortly thereafter, I remember seeking God in prayer. And all of a sudden, it sounded like I was speaking in Spanish or different language. I just began to be filled, this feeling. And we're talking about, you know, we would teach the evidence of the Holy Ghost. It's one of the evidence. The other evidence is love. It's joy, it's peace, it's goodness, it's kindness. Not to belabor the point, but on Sunday is the official day of Pentecost. But should we take Sunday for granted when we've got tonight, you might be watching online, you might be in this audience, if you're willing. Dr. Oscar said, if you're willing to say yes to God again, come on, stand on your feet. If you're willing to say yes to God again, I need you to stand on your feet and begin to seek the presence of Almighty God. For some of you will be like, thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Glory, hallelujah. Lord, we worship you. Lord, you're mighty. The Bible says in Psalm 81 and 10, I'm the Lord thy God who brought you out of the land of Egypt. If you open your mouth wide, I will feel it. For some of you tonight, you're going to be filled with the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in tongues. For some of you, you're going to be able to go back home and love people in your household, right? Oh, my God. For some of you, you're going to be able to go to the job and love your manager, right? For some of you, you're getting ready to be set on fire. You're going to give again, you're going to love again. You're going to have the mercy of God, the grace of God. For some of you, that forgiveness is going to flow. If you're willing to say yes to God, meet us at this altar. We want to pray with you. We want to believe God with you. We believe that there's going to be a downpour. We believe that there's going to be an abundance of the Holy Ghost. There it is. There it is. We believe that God is getting ready to do something new in your life. This new is a refreshing new. It's about to fill the house. Come on. I wish I had some, somebody who will begin to pray you can pray in tongues, you can pray in English. You can magnify the King of kings. You can magnify the Lord of glory. Come on, come on. Let him in. Let him in. Don't make him break in. Let him in. Let him in here. Let him in here. Out of your belly. Come on. John 7 and 38, if you believe on me, as the scriptures have said, then out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water. If you're thirsty for a move of God, if you're hungry for a move of God, get to this altar. Now. There's going to be a fresh feeling. For some it comes with laying on a hands. For some, it comes from above. All of our testimonies were different, but we know that God was in the room. When God is in the room, he's going to be in this room. The upper room was a dress rehearsal for this room. Your body is a temple and a temple of the Holy Spirit. Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on. This is the the same glory that is about to fill. This is the same spirit that was moving on the face of the deep when the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the water. This is the same spirit that was on Jesus when he was walking on the water. God wants you to feel you. God wants to feel you. God wants to feel you. God wants to feel you. Come on. He wants to feel you. He wants to feel you. I'm illustrating and I snuck this in tonight. I don't know where security is. They might get me. I found an old school lighter. We would use this for candles. This is fire that I can see. But some of you got fire that can't be seen. Whether it's the fire you can see or the fire that cannot be seen. God wants to burn up every impurity. That's not like him. Come on. We want him to burn in us. Burn in our hearts, burn in our minds. Burn in our spirits. Come on, begin to lift your hands up to the glory of God. He's filling. He's filling. He's coming in the room. Come on. Let him come in the room. Let him come in the room. Like a mighty rushing wind. Feeling, feeling. When he feels you, the depression leads. When he feels you, the anxiety. When he feels you, the trouble leads. When he feels you, you have the strength and the power to dwell with him. When he feels you, there's coming correction. When he feels you. Sometimes as a rebuking. When he feels you, there's a chasing. Come on, feel, feel. Out of your Belly shall flow. Rivers, rivers, rivers. Come on, let him feel. God, we invite you in the room. We don't take Sunday for granted. God, we don't take the day for granted. You can fill somebody now with the Holy Ghost. A fresh feeling. A fresh feeling. Ezekiel says he entered me. Come on. A fresh feeling. The spirit of Lord came upon David. The spirit Lord came upon Samson. Let his spirit come. Let it flow. Let it fall. The Holy Ghost is a gentleman. He's not gonna break in. You have to invite him in. Come on. Open up your heart. Open up your mind. Let him fill you. Holy Ghost, we give you free reign. Holy Ghost will give you free reign. Come on, come on. Minstrels war with me. Holy Ghost, we give you free reign. Holy Ghost, we give you free reign. Free reign. Your power, your deliverance, your peace. Out of your belly. Out of your belly. Out of your belly. Your anointing. Out of your belly. Out of your belly. Just lay your hands right there. Out of your belly. A fresh feeling. A fresh touch. A fresh newness. Holy Ghost. Holy Ghost. A fresh touch. Holy Ghost. There it is. Fresh touch. Holy Ghost. Holy Ghost. Take over. Take over, Holy Ghost. Take over what he can't understand. Holy Ghost. A free reign. Holy Ghost. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Come on. He's in the room. I wish I had some praises. He's in the room. He's in the room. Come on. Stoke up the atmosphere. Come on. Can we create an upper room experience? Feel my brother. Feel my sister. Feel my mother. Feel my brother. Feel my body. Feel, feel, feel, feel, feel, feel. A fresh feeling. A fresh feeling. A refiner's fire. Holy Ghost. Fire, fire. Have your way, oh, God, feel us like you feel best. And Leo. God, fill us like you filled Isaiah. Fill us like you filled Jeremiah. Let us burn with the power. Let us burn with the indwelling. Let us burn with the newness. Let us burn with the tongue. Let us burn with the hunger. Let us burn with the thirst. God, we want to burn for you. God, we're thirsty for you. I feel like I will be disrespecting God to tell you to go back to your seats. But you're in the perfect place if you're at the altar to sow a sacrifice to the master. God's done something for some of you at this altar. And tonight, and you're watching online. The giver information will be on the screens. Whether you're giving tithes or an offering, you really owe God. Everything. We are sowing into good ground. I don't Want to disturb the presence of God? If you need an offering envelope, lift up your hands. We have ushers in the aisles. We call them PMTs for professional ministry technicians. This is the moment that we sow into our destiny. This is the moment that we sow into our feeling. Somebody's got my phone. But I was. I was so. For my other phone. Look at God. Glory to God. I don't know what it's worth to you. If it's worth 500. If it's worth a hundred, it's priceless to me. I can't tell you what to sow, but I can tell you that worship starts with a sacrificial offering. I can tell you that worship starts when you obey him. We thank you for my brother and my sister on my right and on my left. Lord, we don't know what Bishop is going to preach on Sunday, but we ask that you would strengthen his body, drop him down into the depths of your wisdom and bring him up with supernatural clarity, divine understanding, truth, and fill him with the Holy Ghost. Thank you, Lord, that we got the first fruits tonight of what you're going to do on Sunday. You're dismissed.

This special Walk It Out Wednesday features a dynamic pastoral panel exploring Pentecost, also known as the Feast of Weeks. The panel dives deeply into the biblical, historical, and practical aspects of Pentecost, connecting Old and New Testament significance, the power and work of the Holy Spirit, and how believers can prepare their lives for an encounter with God’s transformative power. Through rich scriptural discussion, testimonies, teaching, and honest Q&A, the episode calls listeners to pursue a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit and to walk in authenticity, unity, and purpose.
Featured Speakers:
Thomas' Story Revisited: Thomas was not a “doubter”—he simply asked for evidence to confirm Jesus’ resurrection (access to evidence, not doubt).
Choosing the Twelfth Disciple: After Judas, the replacement (Matthias) was chosen among those who were faithfully serving, not seeking promotion, but available.
The Road to Emmaus: Unnamed disciples encounter Jesus, emphasizing that everyone (not just those with “titles”) is invited to experiential intimacy with Christ.
Unity of Believers: 120 out of 500 obeyed Jesus' instruction to wait in Jerusalem—emphasizing discipline, obedience, and unity above mere enthusiasm.
Being on One Accord: Musical metaphor—a chord is harmonious despite different notes; God brings together diverse people in harmony, not uniformity.
Language and Power: The outpouring birthed the ability to speak in other tongues so that every nation present could hear—God equips you with the language for the sphere to which you’re sent.
Witnesses at Home First: The mandate to be a witness starts with your home (“Jerusalem”) before extending outward.
Not Everyone Will Go the Distance: Only a fraction of those who see the initial miracle will persist through waiting, discipline, and unity.
Tone-Deafness as Spiritual Metaphor: Not everyone can harmonize—some struggle to “hear” in the Spirit; with willingness, anyone can learn.
Learning the Language of the Spirit: The filling of the Spirit gives both the language and the ear for what God is saying (see harmony theme above).
What if family/‘hometown’ doesn’t recognize your calling?
How do you find spiritual language in the home when feeling unheard?
Personal Testimonies: Each panelist shares a unique testimony of being filled with the Holy Spirit, emphasizing:
The experience may differ (tongues, crying, surrender), but the evidence is transformation, power, and love.
Dr. Val: Experienced at age 12 during “tarrying,” a powerful, memorable encounter [65:23]
Pastor Don: In college, filled while worshipping with gospel music, initially didn’t understand but recognized transformation [77:25]
Dr. Oscar: Holy Spirit baptism as ongoing surrender—“Yes” to God, more than an event; sometimes the sign isn’t tongues but changed life [71:04]
Pastor Cora: Youth worship setting, filled during intense prayer and worship [69:31]
Quote: “The Holy Ghost…is a gift given to us…It wasn’t so much the tongue as the surrender of a complete yes.” — Dr. Oscar [71:04]
Quote: “All it takes is a yes.” — Dr. Val [76:07]
Application: Don’t wait for Sunday or a special moment—seek God now; the Holy Spirit’s indwelling is available wherever, whenever you turn to Him.
The episode culminates in a powerful prayer and invitation to seek a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit—right where you are. The panelist encourage everyone not to wait for a special service or moment but to surrender to God now, affirming that Pentecost is both a celebration and an ongoing way of life.
For a deeper experience, revisit Acts 2, the story of Pentecost, and consider how you can position your life for a fresh move of God’s Spirit today.
