Stay a while as the word of God restores your hope and transforms your life. Have you all been enjoying Walk it Out Wednesday? Have you all. Now don't clap. Cause y'. All. Because y' all trying to be kind to us. Have y' all really enjoyed it?
B
We.
D
We enjoy. We enjoy this opportunity to really dissect and dive into the word. This is probably more of a treat for us than it is for you all because it challenges us to meet the expectation that's in the house. When you show up with your questions, whether they're online or whether they're in the house, it puts a demand on the anointing on inside of us to meet that expectation. So I don't want you to stop studying. I don't want you to stop preparing because the more you come prepared, the. The harder we got to work. And that's a good thing. So we invite your questions, whether you're watching online. We invite you to put your question in the chat. There are people who are watching the chat that will give us that question and we'll answer to the best of our ability. And we invite you, if you are in the house and you have a question, everybody say question. Amen. You have a question, something that has just pricked your heart and that you want to really hear expounded on. We invite you in this no judgment zone to come to the aisle. Our deacons are holding the mic. Everybody say the deacons are holding the mic just so you don't get offended when they don't give it to you. The deacons are holding the mic tonight, all right? And they will. They will really help you give deliver that. But we want you because we've been talking about the book of acts. We did the road to Pentecost. And did not our hearts burn from Sunday when our very own Bishop. If you were not here, I tell you, got to catch the rebroadcast. When Bishop Jakes preached the great gathering and brought us in Sunday, we commemorated Pentecost 50 days from Passover. Pentecost had fully come in this house. Y' all was running around and shouting and falling out and all of that. Y' all felt good. And so tonight, Tonight is a unique night because we want to really walk that out in a way that becomes very tangible. And so again, we invite your input, your questions and all of that. But we're going to just kind of start with right where Bishop left off, kind of right in the midst of that, right at the top of that. And let's just do a little reading just to refresh. We don't want to assume that everybody was here Sunday or knows where we are. So let's look at. If you got your Bibles, your swords with you, your phones, whatever you use to access the word of God. Go to Acts, chapter two, and we'll start at verse one, and we'll just keep reading until one of them say, stop. If you don't have. We're going to show it on the screen. Acts, chapter two, verse one. Pastor Dobbins, you read real good. Go ahead.
A
See, they pick on the skinniest guy up here. You know, I don't have the muscles yet.
D
The skinniest.
A
I don't have the muscles yet, you know, but you see how they box me in. But I'm hedged in by the power of God.
D
There you go, There you go. Read, reader, read, read, read.
A
When the day of Pentecost had fully come, there were all with one accord in one place. Somebody say one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing, mighty wind. And it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Oh, God. Then they. Then there appeared to them divided tongues. Depending on which version you're reading, you'll see cloven tongues as a fire. Somebody say fire. And one sat upon each of them, that text said 1. Which means everybody's got their own fire.
B
Come on now.
A
Yeah, yeah, that'll preach all by itself. Let me just keep reading.
B
No, you can't just read and stop right there.
A
He gonna beat me up.
D
You got my back.
B
No, what you just said. Cuz now if we're doing Bible study, let's flow. We stop etymology, we stop with words. If everyone has a fire, then you don't have the right to be mad at Somebody else's fire. Why? Why are you trying to quench someone else's fire? Figure yours out. The important part is make sure you're in the room. Because when you're in the room, God is going to give you a fire. So take your fire. Because fire is a combustible. It cannot sit still. And whatever that gift God gave you, that fire he gave you, it can't sit still. I've never seen a fire sit still when it touches something else. You should have the ability in you to spread. The question is, what are you spreading?
A
You gonna let him just murder it like that? I know you got something to say.
D
I don't have nothing. But you know what's interesting? With fire, fire moves with wind. So we don't see fire by itself. We see fire and wind together. Fire, water, all of these are still. But wind. Wind is oftentimes equated to the spirit because it takes the wind to move something. So as you get the fire being in the room, make sure you get the wind to move. Because it's the wind that moved them out of the upper room into the streets so that they could testify. So I need fire and I need wind because I need something blowing life into me. We're going to talk about wind tonight. Because wind is the life, the breath and the spirit of God. Once that hits the power, then I can't be stopped.
B
You started early in the wind. I just said the fire is a combustible. But it said it sat on them. Dobbins, you're reading and it's important, especially in Bible study. When God gives you something, you just can't sit on it. And I'm afraid and we don't. Like you said, we'll get to that win. But there's so many people sitting on what God gave them because of somebody else's invalid vision of them. They now listen to what they said instead of what God has said. So you're sitting on a gift. You said it earlier. You're sitting on a miracle. You're sitting next to a miracle. But because you need the validation or the assurance of somebody else's, you're sitting on what he gave you, waiting on approval of somebody else. When God says, when I gave it to you in the room, wait on the wind so you can go.
A
That's so pretty. Can you go back to verse three? Because here's what hits me.
D
Here he go. Here he go.
A
Even when I try to sit on what the master gave me, he's still going to send wind and fire that's good. Perhaps somebody in this room, somebody watching us. The reason why you keep feeling this passion and this burden to go after your purpose, destiny, your goals, your initiatives, your legacy is because God is going to continue to send the wind and the fire to get you moving. Sometimes we often because the text says, then there appeared to them divided tongues as a fire and one set upon each of them. It's interesting because sometimes on the outside, we watch everybody else get blessed and we sit there as if the blesser is not blessing us. And I think if we would receive the fire that he is sending down and allow the wind to oxygenate ourselves, to expand our spiritual lungs, to begin to push. See, I used to run track. Oh, God. It was nothing like the mile relay. I, I just, I, I, I love it. My claim to fame was run to 45 in high school. And so when you gave me the stick, it's my time to run. I, I was a pretty fast runner, so I, I was good there. But there was something called a second win. When you get that kick in your spirit when you hit that last curve and somebody in this room, this is why you got to stay tuned in, because somebody is in the curve of the journey. Everything seems to be straight ahead. You're facing trouble, you're facing issues, but there is about to be a curve. Lord have mercy. In this text, God throws a curveball and sends the wind and the fire. We used to the wind. He came in a still, small voice. We're used to the wind that the sound, the sound of God's voice was like many wasps. We're used to the wind, and the spirit of Lord moved upon the face of the waters. But this fire is different.
D
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
A
It's almost like y' all had to help me get out of this. It's almost like we hadn't seen this fire until the burning bush of Moses. It's almost like we hadn't seen this type of fire until Elijah is taken up in a chariot of fire. It's almost like we hadn't seen this fire until Jeremiah wanted to quit. But it was like fire shut up on the inside of his bones. When the text shows you fire, it is burning up impurities, flesh, and things that are not godly. Everybody wants the Holy Ghost, but you don't really want it on your tongue.
D
Ah, my God. Watch it.
B
Watch yourself.
A
Give me 15 more seconds. Here's the issue. Everybody wants to speak in tongues. Run, jump and shout, but do you want the tongue to purify the cussing? Oh, Never mind. Do you want the tongue to purify what you have been casting down? Do you want the tongue to purify the arguments to come, the confrontations? Do you want the tongue to purify the negative things that you have been saying to yourself in the mirror at night? The secret tears and the pains that you share with nobody else? God came to burn up your tongue. It's not the tongue, but it's the language of the tongue. Talk to me. Help me out. Help give me out of this.
B
I don't want to help you. I don't even want to get you out of it. I want you to stay in it. Because you said something about the relay. You're talking about the stick that was being handed to you. The problem is most runners don't realize you got to already be moving at a pace as the stick is handed off to you. There won't be a stick handed off to you standing still. The exchange has to have been movement.
A
Class is over.
B
If I'm standing still waiting for a stick to be handed to me, God said, I can't give you nothing. Cause you're standing still. Maybe if you can move in the turn, I can hand you something in the turn. So I think even in the relay, even in the relay, you handing it off. God said, I want to give you something, but you're still. You stuck in 1988. You stuck in the year 2000. God is saying, I'm trying to pass this thing off to you, but you have to be moving.
D
But that's. That's scriptural. We got a question already. But before we get to this question, let's go back to first. Verse 1. Verse 1. There's something in there we can't miss. When the day of Pentecost had fully come. Fully come. This is. This is what? This is motion. This is motion in context. Remember that Jesus had left 10 days prior. Pentecost was already a festival and feast that they were accustomed to. And so they were. When I was studying, something was so unique about this. Jerusalem is where all of the nations came and converged. This feast of Pentecost, the feast of weeks, this celebration of Pentecost was important because it followed Passover. And then we get to Pentecost. And so when Jesus leaves them 40 days in, he says, go and wait. They're in the move. They're in this progression. It had to fully come to pass in order for power to come. Now, 10 represents law and discipline, 50 represents Jubilee, which simply means that after they had established discipline, the Discipline to wait. The discipline to prepare, the discipline to obey God's voice, The discipline to be still. The discipline to say, I'm not gonna move. I'm not gonna get anxious. I'm not gonna get anxiety. His word told me to wait, and I'm gonna be still. I'm. Until I see the manifestation. When that fully comes to pass, when God has fully prepared you. Because remember, 40 is the number of preparation. You're not in a stalemate. God is just getting you to your fully date. He's preparing you. He's getting you ready for your jubilee, which is your 50 when you're going to celebrate. But you need that 10 days because you need to get discipline. You need to know how to use that money when he sends you that millions of dollars. You need to know how to deal with that business when it starts to blow up. You need to know. So you need that gestation period of 10 days. You need that discipline. Because when Pentecost fully comes, there's fire coming. Will you have the discipline to handle the fire that's coming? Because the wind is getting ready to push you whether you're ready or not.
B
Here he comes.
D
We got to get past verse three, though.
A
See, I was just trying to read, but he was messing with me, and then now you bullying me. See, this. This is messed up.
D
We don't use that word. Bully. We don't use it.
A
We don't use.
D
Okay, we don't use it. I'm encouraging you. I'm strongly encouraging.
A
I got a council friend on the second row. She's about to help get me out of this.
B
What was. No, there was a question. I don't want to read it. Y' all make the question that was on. We trying to make sure we get all the question.
D
Can you describe the distinction between the tongues on the day of Pentecost versus our heavenly language tongue? That's a really great question. It kind of takes us a little further into it, but we.
B
Let's.
D
Let's just drop right there. One of the things that's very interesting, and I want us to really hear this. One of the things that's interesting when we Read Acts, Chapter 2 and what the Holy Spirit gave them. Look at the language. He didn't give them unknown tongues. He gave them tongues that people could hear from their original language. So it was tongues or words that were decipherable. Now, this is why this is important. Give me a minute to lay this, because it was in my notes. The thing that made this moment so important is because they say, the onlookers say, aren't these Galileans? Y' all remember that part? Aren't these Galileans? And the reason why that's important is because, Galileo, Galilee was not a place where learned people lived. Galilee was a place where people thought. Remember, in John, they say, nothing good can come out of Nazareth. Nazareth is in Galilee. So Galilee was not somewhere where people who were very educated or very learned were living. And so when they look at these men of men and women of Galilee who are now speaking in languages that are not. Not their own, they are confused and confounded. Not because they were indecipherable language, but because what the Holy Spirit gave them more than just a new language. Boldness to speak. I want you to hear this. It is the boldness. Because there's another passage where Peter stands up and he talks about the boldness that they have to speak. So the Holy Spirit is emboldened them with this fire. But the fire then equates to this literacy of a language that none of them knew. So that the men, all the people who were in Jerusalem. And we have a slide about it. I showed it last week. All of these different nations were in Jerusalem at the time? Yes. Thank you. All of these different nations were in Jerusalem at the time. And so these tongues that we see on the day of Pentecost, these are not personal tongues. These are not the tongues that we are speaking to heaven.
B
These.
D
These tongues were specifically for evangelism. To show that the people that the place that you discounted because Jesus was from Galilee. And so all of these people thought, what good can come out of Galilee? What savior can come out of Galilee? What prophets can come out of Galilee? Peter stands up as the one who denied Jesus as the prophet and the priest in the moment to say, we not drunk, we have been filled with the Holy Spirit. We have been given access to a language that we did not possess. So I want to make sure that you hear that. So when we talk about being filled with the Spirit, being baptized with the Spirit, what happened on Pentecost, it sums down to being emboldened with power to speak. And we've said this before, speak languages that you don't even have the education for, you don't even have the knowledge for. So what does that look like? Practically? That could be you walking into a situation that you feel like is way above you. And the Holy Spirit gives you the words, the knowledge, the nuances to speak. That could be the Holy Spirit leading you to a place, to a community, to A group of people that you don't really resonate with, but the Holy Spirit gives you a word of knowledge, gives you information, gives you insight. You know it didn't come from you. You know that you don't have the knowledge for it. You know you didn't go to school for it. But something inside of you has ignited something that you didn't have, that you got from the Holy Spirit. That is what we see on Pentecost. The beauty of Pentecost is the church was made alive and made to evangelize to people that thought they would never be anything. Does that make sense?
B
I would. First of all, that's absolutely amazing. I will also add this. It's a great question, because so many times we get confused. We think heavenly language is what happened at Pentecost. That is not what happened at Pentecost. That was an empowerment, like Dr. Oscar just said. But I'll also add this. It was also a business decision that God made. The church needed to be funded. The church didn't have the funds to start the church. So God used abnormal people to talk to people who had the money that could fund the church. Cause if you read all the way down, it says 3,000 were added. And if you read it further down, it says, and they brought all they had to the church. So God uses your language to empower people to save them so that they can fund the church. So it was a strategy. It was a business decision. The God we serve has a business plan. And what he does is he uses you to go into an ecosystem. You can't see, speak the ecosystem, so you get the job that you don't deserve. And then you hear in church, hey, we're collecting tithe and offering. So God put you in an ecosystem to speak a language you don't deserve. So now you can come help fund the ministry so the ministry can grow. That's the Holy Ghost. Now we want to talk about the fruit of the Spirit. Now you're talking about love, joy, peace, long suffering to keep you while you're in it.
D
So just be careful.
B
Not just careful, but knowing that God can be using you even though you don't deserve to be where you are.
A
I think these are beautiful. I just want to put a. A text to it. There's two different things we're talking about. We're talking about speaking in unknown tongues. And when I say unknown, let me just say it was unknown to them, but they were speaking in other languages. Speaking to other languages. That's one. The second thing is speaking in an unknown tongue. If you look at First Corinthians, chapter 14, verse number two, it's articulating that he that speaketh unto God. You're speaking in an unknown tongue. You're not speaking to your fellow brother sister, you're speaking unto God. Sometimes God will allow you to speak horizontally, and then he will allow you to speak vertically. He brings it together so that your life mirrors the language of the cross. Does that make sense? I'll never forget first time I went to Africa, 2002, and we were in. In Bali, a village outside of Imbali, Uganda. And I got filled with the Holy Ghost, the Spirit, and I started speaking in tongues. I had no idea what I was saying, but some of the people in the village knew what I was saying and was articulating that. What I would to. To me, what I was saying, which I had no idea, really blew my mind. It was actually going along with the ministry and the sermon, but I had no idea. So this is not a thing where we go off to show off various tongues. God's using the tongues for a strategy. The key is, will you talk to God in a language that I believe that sometimes demon and devils will have to back up at, and that angels will be summoned to your rescue and to protect you? Or will you just say, you know what, I'm too cute. I don't want to be filled. They're crazy. They're out of their mind. Or will you let the Holy Ghost really feel you and clean out everything that is not like him out of you?
D
You know, I want to toss this question to us because one of the things as I was reading that came that was very interesting, is that this sound that we were talking about, the sound brought all of the people in Jerusalem to a spot. They were drawn by the sound. The sound fell in the upper room. The power fell in a specific place, the Bible says, and the whole house was filled. The sound brings everyone together. They come out of the upper room. So there's a sound that gathers everyone and. And it is, I think we were talking about. It is very reminiscent to Babel when we talk about in. In the Old Testament, you remember the Tower of Babel. As they were building this, this tower up to heaven, they had one language. And the Bible says, God says, let us go down to confound their language, because they have become as one. And if they keep going, nothing, the Bible says, nothing will be impossible for them because they became one. So we see in the Tower of Babel that there's one Language. And there is a. The presence of God. The wind of God comes to confound. Now we come over here to acts, and we see this wind again, and we hear this sound again, and we see God coming down again in his spirit. But this time, the language is not to disperse, but the sound is to gather. And I want us to just lay there a little bit because I think that's worth talking about.
B
I'm gonna give probably a practical analogy when it comes to sound. So when we moved from Florida to Dallas, we got a house, moved in the house, excited, thank you, Jesus. Hallelujah. Now, remember, I'm from Florida, so you guys have tendencies I don't know nothing about. So we're sitting in the house and somebody says, it's getting ready to rain.
D
Cool.
B
It's raining. There's this loud sound that happened. I'm like, what in the world? I've never experienced this sound before. Well, come to find out, anytime there's a tornado or something present, there's a sound that happens. So the sound got my attention, and I thought about the Holy Ghost. When the right sound happens, it gets your attention, and I can prove it to you. Anytime you hear an ambulance, you don't know where it is, you start looking for it because you know, I need to get out of the way. So a sound is an indication. I need to either move or I need to pay attention for what's coming. And sometimes we ignore the sound, saying, oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. I need to pay attention. Because even though I'm unfamiliar with the sound, something in my head say, you need to pay attention and figure out why is this noise happening. Oftentimes God sends sound sound that other people can't hear. Because he could be warning you. He could be telling you, you need to move out of the way. Or there could be a gathering that needs to happen because it's your. It's your time because a full season is about to take place. So when you talk about sign, it's just the sound. That sound is natural to me. It's like, oh, music. Well, that's your thing. I'm not going to bother. That music.
D
No, no, no. You on it. You're on it. Sound is so important because we see throughout scripture how God will use the audible sound. And we talked about about this in many weeks. We talked about what we are able to hear. We talk about the auditory system. We talked about how important it is to have a ear to heaven, the sound that is coming from heaven. Even when Jesus returns, we're going to hear a sound before we see him. So it's a lot that's happening with this sound. And you have to understand that the things that are coming from heaven are coming through sounds. That's why it's so important to. To not only be in a place where you can hear, but check this out. To be in a posture where you can hear. The upper room represents a posture of a people who were waiting for a sound. Not go ahead, go, tag you it. Go, ooh, I'm ooh. Tag you it. You don't even have to wait for it.
B
I gotta let this holy ghost gotta sit on me real quick. When you were talking about the sound, I thought about the wall of Jericho.
D
Yeah, come on.
B
The Bible talks clearly. He says, and when they begin to shout, the wall fell flat.
D
Yes.
B
It didn't crumble. They created a sound that no matter what the barrier was, it pulled the molecules apart. Tag you in.
D
So what is so interesting about it? Sound has dimensions because prior to them shouting, they walked. Preparation. The sound of their feet. Because you're talking about 1 million, 2 million people. The sound. Because there is high sound that shatters and there's low sound that rumbles. And it was the low sound that broke up the foundation. So that when they shouted, that's why the wall could fall down. That's why you have to understand there's even power in your silence. Because your mouth may not be open, but your feet are still making a sound. And as you walk around that thing, you. You're confusing the enemy because the enemy is thinking you gonna shout. And you say, you don't even know how many weapons I got.
E
I got so much power.
D
I got sound in my feet. I'm gonna walk around this problem. I'm gonna walk around this sickness. I'm gonna walk around this circle circumstance. And he has me walking around it so many times that I'm breaking up the foundation. You don't even know that I'm uprooting the root from where it is.
E
You're expecting me to come warfare up
D
here, and God is saying, start low because I'm bringing a rumble, I'm bringing a thunder. I'm bringing it.
E
And when you do shout, you ain't gonna have to shout long because you
D
did the work down low. That's what's happening with the sound. You have to understand that is why we are so off our nose. But that's okay.
E
That.
D
That is why the enemy tries to keep your mouth closed, because the power is in your voice. The Power is in your sound.
E
Your breakthrough and your victory is in your sound. Why do you think it's so hard
D
for you to praise God when you're going through? Why do you think the enemy wants
E
you to recluse yourself and not say nothing and not to say your prayers out loud? Because he understands that death and life are in the power of your tongue. He doesn't have the ability to create in this earthly realm, so. So he has to use your power to get you to create for him. Because only you have access to create in this realm. That's why you gotta protect your sound. That's why you gotta protect your ear. Because out of what you hear, that's what the mouth will speak. So if you're listening to the wrong thing, you'll create the wrong thing. Because it's your sound that has power. That's why they were waiting and the sound moved them. Because when the sound comes calms, it wakes up everything around you. The sound comes, the shake up every. That's why the people in Jerusalem couldn't stay where they were. Because a sound had drew them.
D
That's why it's called the Great Gathering. Let me calm down.
B
See you, boy.
E
Come on. Come on, sound. Come on sound. Yeah, there's something there.
D
Yeah, do that. Do.
B
Okay, so.
D
No, you.
B
You said there's a sound in your walking.
D
Yes.
B
There's a. There's a sound in your silence. I just want to get. This is Bible study. I just want to give you scripture to back it. There are four lepers.
E
Yeah.
B
That said, why sit we here till we die? The Bible says as they get up to begin to walk.
D
Yes.
B
The enemy hears their footsteps.
D
And it sounds like a chariot of an army that's coming.
B
But it's only foot, four of them.
D
It wasn't about the number, it was about the movement.
E
So sometimes you just gotta close your mouth and just start walking. What do you think blind Bartimaeus heard? Blind Bartimaeus couldn't see nothing. Blind Bartimaeus heard walking. Walking. I hear a sound. I can't see it, but I hear something. I don't know who this is for
D
today, but somebody just need to take
B
about two or three steps.
E
And the enemy that you were going to face tomorrow, he's going to hear you coming. Somebody shout, he hears me coming. He. He hears me coming. You need to let your feet do the talking. You need to let your feet do the talking. You've been talking long enough with your mouth. You need to let your feet do the talking. Every step you take is another victory. The enemy is getting scared because you didn't found your sound. You didn't found your power. The enemy is starting to back up because he hears your footprints. And you not walking by yourself, walking it.
D
You're not walking by yourself.
E
Yea, though I walk through the valley
D
of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.
A
Why?
D
Because you're walking with me.
E
It didn't say you're talking me through through it. It said you're right there with me. He's walking with you through the valley. He's walking through. You went through that hard place. He's walking with you through that sickness. He's walking through with you through that grief. He's walking with you. You not walking by yourself. You're not in this thing by yourself. You may not hear him speak to you, but just look for his footprints around you.
D
Look for his footprints. That's how you know I'm not alone. I see you. I hear you. I hear you. I hear you in the grief. I hear you. I hear you walking with me. And sometimes, sometimes when you can't walk, he'll carry you and walk for you. I don't know how we made this
B
turn, but we made the turn in his track reference. Because I'm in the turn right now, and because I'm moving, God is handing the stick off and now I'm moving in my turn.
E
You did this.
A
I just got one thing to say, just one thing. I want to say the right thing. So I got to make sure that I can first hear the sound. I hear a sound. That's what happened at the Jericho wall. That's what was beginning to happen. When you hear the sound. See, here's the. The issue some of you. Your. Your pulse is not on the text. Your pulse is not on worship. Your pulse is not on praise. See, the minstrel jumped in to push you where you should have already been. What you don't understand is that the Holy Ghost is your personal stethoscope. Every day you wake up, the first thing you ought to be doing is using the stethoscope of your spiritual ear to listen for the sound. The Bible says that there was a sound as of a mighty rushing wind. But if you know anything about sound, it's still traveling, it's still moving. And in the stillness of this moment, I dare you to lift up your hands and ask the master

you the rhythm, the pulse, the pace, the heartbeat. Allow your spiritual aorta and your ventricles to hear the sound that heaven has Been trying to. To speak into your spirit. It's been speaking in that trouble. It's been speaking at night and. Oh, God. Oh, God. I'm trying to get back home. I'm trying to settle us down and get us back on Facebook. But here's what I hear. I hear insomnia going away. I hear the sound of depression moving. I hear the sound of anxiety being crushed. I hear lupus going. I hear cancer fleeing. I see ovarian cancer running out the door. I hear the sound of prostate cancer being stepped on. I hear fibroid cysts shrinking. I hear swelling going down. I hear people getting out of wheelchairs. I hear Crohn's disease that's no match to the glory of God. I hear Parkinson's disease having to back up. I hear migraine headaches going away. I hear blood disorders lining up according to the glory of God. I hear your cells being regenerated. I hear your atoms, your protons, your electrons, you lose them. I hear them lining up. I hear your lungs functioning again. I hear kidneys functioning again. I hear dialysis machines having to break down down because your lungs were able to build up. I hear the sound of broken bones mending. I hear families coming back together. I hear marriages being mended. I hear your son coming back home. I hear your daughter coming back home. I hear people coming back from prison. I hear the sound of people who are homeless getting homes. I hear the sound of grants. I hear the sound of loans. I hear the sounds of investments. I hear the sounds of 401ks going up. I hear the sound of peace in our nation. I hear the sound of joy coming back to your spirit of God. I hear the sound. Can you hear the sound? Come on, tap in. Can you hear the sound? Maybe the master wants to hear your sound. You gonna let Pastor Dung sing by himself?
B
Hallelujah.
A
Jesus, where is your song to the Lord? Do the minstrels always have to push us where we should have already gone?
D
Hallelujah. You know, that word sound in that passage is actually the word echo and literally is. Is when it says there was a sound, literally saying there was an echo from heaven.
A
Crescendo and decrescendo.
D
That heaven. You know what happens in the echo? It's just a reverberating sound. It is the same thing over and over again. That heaven is. Is echoing its promises to you. That heaven is echoing its. Its blessings to you. Heaven. Heaven is echoing God's word to you. When you hear the sound, don't be confused. Don't Be afraid. It's just heaven's echo that's coming to you.
A
So would it be like. Favor, Favor. Blessings, Blessings, blessings, Blessings, cows. This houses house.
B
Go ahead. I want to show you how. So much you're right. When Jesus stands there, he says, roll a stone away. He could have caused Lazarus even with the stone there. If you read it, it's an echo.
D
He says, lazarus, come, come, come, come. He calls him from the back to the front.
B
And it's the echo that causes you to come from the back.
D
Yes. To the front.
E
Yes.
D
Yes.
B
So he only called him once, but the echo in the cave did the rest of the work.
D
And that is how he's calling us. Some of us are hearing the echo of heaven. This is what I love. Because the echo is not just once. Some of y' all have been hearing the echo over and over again.
A
Whoa.
D
It's out of protocol. But if you are hearing the echo of God, will you come to this altar real fast?
A
Absolutely.
D
If you're hearing the echo of God, you.
B
You.
D
You. You've been. You've been hearing it for a while, but. But you've been trying to act like you don't hear it because it's calling you into something that maybe you thought you. You couldn't do or were afraid to do. Maybe you thought you didn't have the power to do, or maybe. Maybe you're like the Galileans. Maybe they didn't expect you to do it. But all you hear is this sound that's. That's calling you. It's calling you. It's calling you. It's calling, calling you into a place. And it's uncomfortable. The call is uncomfortable. You feel unprepared. You don't feel ready for it. You don't feel like you have the education, the credentials. But all you hear is this echo, this sound that's coming for you. And I hear God say, I'm getting ready to feel you tonight. You getting ready to have a Pentecost tonight. And you thought it was going to be something strange. Your Pentecost is. I'm getting ready to give you power. Not just to hear the echo, but to move with the wind. Look at this altar. Come on, fill it in. Fill it in. Fill it in. Fill it in. Yes, yes, yes. It's a few more. You don't, don't, don't, don't bring. Don't. Don't have a deaf ear to the echo. He's calling you. He's calling you. He's calling you. He's Calling you. He's calling you. I see you coming. He's calling you. He's calling you. He's calling you. He's calling you. You trying to throw up your past. But, Adam, he's still calling you. He's still calling you, Adam. He knows what you did. He knows where you went. He knows what you're dealing with. He knows what messed you up last time. But that has not stopped. Stop the echo over your life. There's an echo that's coming. There's a sound that's coming from heaven. He's been preparing you this whole time. And you wonder, God, God, when you gonna use me? God said, I'm sending the echo. I'm sending it. If you just trust me. If you just trust me. If you just trust me. If you just trust me. I know you feel like you don't have what it takes to do what he called you to do, but he didn't call anybody in the upper room because they had the ability. The only thing that separated that 120 from the other 300 that saw Jesus was their obedience to his word. And if you be obedient to God right now, if you'll be obedient to God right now, if you be obedient to God right now and say, I'm gonna stop running, I'm gonna stop fighting it, whatever that call is, whatever that echo is, I'm gonna stop acting like I don't hear it. And I'm coming. I'm coming. Because there's an echo over my life. There's a sound over my life. If you are obedient to that not the way he. If you got your seed, just come put your seat on the altar. Just come put your seat on the altar. I like that sound you're doing right there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, right there. Just keyboard. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Come on, put your seat on the altar. Even if you're giving by your electronic device, just touch the altar with it. If you're watching online, get into this moment. This is a seating moment. We're getting ready to go. But don't you just click off? Don't you just click off. Obey God. Obey God. Obey God. Obey God. Obey God. Obey God. You want God to show up in your life? Obey God right now. Obey God right now. Whatever God is telling you to give, I challenge you to listen to the echo of heaven. I challenge you right now. Obey God. Even in this room, I challenge you to get something in your hand to give. Even if you just gotta symbolically come touch the altar. God, I'm touching in faith that the next time I come to this place, I'm gonna have something tangible to give. Come on. Come. Come right now. Come right now. Come right now. Come right now. Come right now. Move by faith. Move by faith. Move by faith. Move by faith. Move by faith. Listen for the echo of heaven. Move by faith. Come on. It's about obedience. Move by faith. Move by faith. I'm not promising cars, I'm not promising houses. I'm just promising that God will provide. I don't know what that is for you. I don't know what that is for you. All I can tell you this. God will provide. Just have to. Have to say these few things. Listen, our Potter's House School of Ministry has a summer intensive program that starts at. That closes May 30th. It's a summer six week program. If you think walk it out Wednesday is something. If you get encouraged by what we do on Wednesday nights and then on Sundays, I encourage you to sign up for our Potter's House School of Ministry intensive. These are deep, deeper dives into the Word. Because when you start to open up that portal, you gotta fill it with something. And what the enemy will do is the enemy will try to distract you. Because there's a hunger that's being established. There's a hunger that's being established. And you gotta feed that thing with the Word. So I encourage you. The information is on the screen. There are courses to choose from, Spiritual formation, Daniel and Revelations, end time, Hebrews and intercessory prayer. You can take one, two or all, all three of the courses. But go and get the information and feed that hunger that's on the inside of you. You're investing into the spirit, man, growing so that you can do all that God has put in your spirit to do. You got to be equipped. Tell your neighbor, I got to be equipped. I got to be equipped. While you're doing that, don't forget we're still on the fast. Like I said, Sunday. Even if you haven't started, it's not too late. Make the enemy out of a lie. The enemy's trying to tell you it's too late. No, it's not. The devil's a lie. It's not too late. I'm gonna catch the tail end of it. Because God is looking at the intent of my heart. And so I encourage you to join us on this fast. And we're gonna close out this Sunday. We're gonna close the fast out with communion this Sunday. Somebody say thank you. Thank You, Jesus. You can scan the QR code. It has the information there. Devotionals and scripture and prayer. And make sure you're in the house for communion on Sunday. The last one. Very important. This is so important. This Sunday, May 31st, our church Potter's House is teaming up with American Red Cross for a blood drive. We'll be accepting donations from 9am to 3pm right here at. At the house. This is going to support patients battling sickle cell disease and others in need. If you can, this coming Sunday. There's a registration. You scan a QR code, you can register@tphd.org blood drive. But we want to be there for people who need us at their most vulnerable time. You want to be the called of God. You want to meet the need of God. Sometimes we want to do it from the platform. God has said, can I trust you to do it from the pew? Can I trust that after I fill you with my spirit that you'll go wherever I send you? Can he trust you? Before we leave, I never want to leave without offering somebody an invitation. Invitation to know this savior, Jesus Christ. I don't take it for granted that we come here and sometimes we hide in a crowd. We think nobody can see us. But that echo was for you tonight because he's still calling your name. You said, how does he know me? He knew you before you were formed in your mother's womb. How could he still love me after all I've done? He loved you. That's why he's still calling you. How could he still want me? He still wants me. He still wants you. He is so in love with you that he stopped this whole service so that I could call you out and that you could come to him. That's how much he's pursuing you. If that's. You don't feel like we're putting you on the spot. We not we just want to wrap our arms around you, become community. And we don't want you to leave out of here uncovered. So if you don't know Jesus, I welcome you to meet me at this altar and we'll introduce you to him. And he's got a gift for you. And that gift is the Holy Ghost. Maybe you're not sure. Maybe you've backslidden. Maybe you say, you know what? I know I'm not where I'm supposed to be in Christ, and I just need to make sure I can get back to that place. Meet us down here at the altar. We'll pray with you. We'll touch and Agree with you. We'll make sure that you know that you know that you know. Come on, let's love. Let's love. Come on. That's it. Come on. Can I get a minister to rush to her? Rush to her. Come on. Let me get a minister. Rush to her. We rushing to you. Is there anybody else? You just want to be sure. You just want to be sure. You don't want to be uncovered. You just don't want to be sure. You. You make. You made a decision a long time ago, but you don't know where you stand. You just want to be sure. We'll make time for you. We're not in no rush. Last appeal. I think this is one of the best churches this side of heaven. I wouldn't be any other place in this season of my life than right here. And I invite you to join us on this journey. Yes, we crazy. Yes, we radical. We all of that. But we know how to get heaven's attention around here. And if you want to join this church, we invite you to come down right now. Hallelujah. Yes. If you want to join this church, we want to. Yeah. Yeah. The altar is open for salvation. If you want prayer, if you want to join, we invite you right now to come down. Everybody standing. We're getting ready to go. We letting y' all go early. Y' all don't even know what to do with all this time. Listen, our altar is open. If you need prayer before you leave, our ministers, our elders are here. We'll pray with you because we love you. I want you to do me two favors. No, three. Three favors. The first favor is we're going to be kind of walking through the book of Acts. I want to invite you to read the book of Acts with us before you come Wednesday. Just read a couple of chapters so that. So that you can kind of ignite some questions and. And get the curiosity. Acts is one of the. The best books to read. You'll get so engrossed in it, you'll be. You'll be at the. However many chapters it is. Pastor Dobbins will tell us next week by the time you get, because it is. It is. It's a ride. Acts is a ride. So I want to invite you to not sit on the sidelines. The second thing is, I want to invite you to invite somebody with you next week. Don't you come by yourself. Don't you get all this fire and self contain it. Pass it on. Invite somebody Wednesday. Invite somebody Sunday. Let's be the church that goes out to the world. Amen. And the last thing, this is probably the most important thing. I want us to commit to praying for our leaders, our bishop and our pastors. There was a little clapping and I don't want you. You don't have to really clap real loud. Whether you clap or not, I just want you even online. I want us to commit to this whole week, every day. Call their names out. Ain't nothing wrong there. Nothing wrong. I'm not. Ain't nothing wrong. But where there is great ministry, there's great attack. And because we know we got a sound, we going to push back anything that's coming before it even gets their way. So can we commit to doing that? We're going to pray for our leaders, pray for Pastor to Pastor Sarah. Pray that she has a speedy recovery, that God. That God even confound the doctors. Pray for our bishop and our forever first lady, that God continue to strengthen them, give them vision and insight, and pray for this church, that we be all that God has called us to be. Touch somebody real fast. We getting ready to go. Make a point of contact. Thank you, worship team. Thank you, band. Thank you. Thank y'.

All.

Father, I thank youk because we are not in this thing by ourselves. The hand that I hold is my brother or my sister. They in the fight with me. They in the walk, the journey with me. God, I thank youk that yout've got us connected, that when I'm weak, they can be strong. And when they're weak, I can be strong for them. God, I thank youk for the fire that's in both of us that's compelling us to go. I thank you for the wind that's pushing us, that's giving us direction. God and I thank you for the boldness that will give us the power to speak when we need to. And as we leave this place, we leave covered and under your blood, knowing no weapon that is formed against us can even prosper. It might form, but it won't work. We leave here in your grace and in your love. In Jesus name, amen. And amen. I'll see y' all Sunday. Thank you for joining us on the Potter's House podcast. Remember, there's always a space in the house for you.

This episode of The Potter’s House Podcast is a deep dive session covering spiritual lessons drawn from Acts Chapter 2 and the sermon “The Great Gathering” delivered by Bishop Jakes the previous Sunday. The conversation centers on Pentecost, unpacking the significance of the Holy Spirit’s arrival, the symbolism of wind, fire, and sound, and what it means for believers to carry spiritual gifts boldly into the world. The dialogue is interactive, featuring live questions from the congregation and offering both theological exposition and practical encouragement, all with a conversational and uplifting tone.
On personal responsibility for spiritual gifts:
“If everyone has a fire, then you don’t have the right to be mad at somebody else’s fire. Why…try to quench someone else’s fire? Figure yours out. The important part is make sure you’re in the room." (B, 05:16)
On action and readiness:
“God said, I want to give you something, but you’re still. You stuck in 1988. You stuck in the year 2000. God is saying, I’m trying to pass this thing off to you, but you have to be moving.” (B, 11:11)
On the discipline of waiting:
“When Pentecost fully comes, there’s fire coming. Will you have the discipline to handle the fire that’s coming? Because the wind is getting ready to push you whether you’re ready or not.” (D, 13:10)
On the marketplace and spiritual language:
“It was a business decision… God uses your language to empower people to save them so that they can fund the church. So it was a strategy. It was a business plan.” (B, 18:26)
On spiritual sound as calling and movement:
“Your breakthrough and your victory is in your sound. Why do you think it’s so hard for you to praise God when you’re going through?” (D, 28:03)
On the echo of heaven:
“That word sound in that passage is actually the word echo… heaven is echoing its promises to you… When you hear the sound, don’t be confused. Don’t be afraid. It’s just heaven’s echo that’s coming to you.” (D, 36:30)
On responding to God’s call:
“All you hear is this echo, this sound that’s coming for you. And I hear God say, I’m getting ready to fill you tonight. You getting ready to have a Pentecost tonight… not just to hear the echo, but to move with the wind.” (D, 38:25)
This episode of Walk It Out Wednesday is a rich, interactive exploration of what it means to experience and act upon the infilling of the Holy Spirit as described in Acts 2. Listeners are challenged to recognize and steward their “fire,” move with the “wind” of God’s Spirit, and listen with spiritual ears for heaven’s “echo,” all while supporting and building up the faith community. The tone is bold, supportive, and enthusiastic, calling everyone higher—both spiritually and in practical daily life.
