Hi, I'm Jacqueline Snyder and this is the Product Boss podcast. I've helped launch and grow thousands of product based businesses, even one of my own. And over the last 20 years, I've seen behind the scenes of businesses just like yours. Whether they are makers, manufacturers, artists, or food and beverage businesses. I have spent so many hours studying it all. I've discovered what makes them successful, what mistakes they could have avoided, how did they turn their ideas into successful business, and what are the strategies that they have used to make more sales and be discovered by more customers. And this is what this show is all about. Whether you're just starting out or you're looking to become a million dollar product boss, I'm here to give you the permission to chase your dreams, no matter how big or small. All you need is the right mindset, a little courage, strategy and support, and you too can be the next million dollar product boss. Let's do this. Oh my goodness. Friends, if you are anything like me, you probably spend more time running errands than running your business. Am I right? Like, everything needs something, we gotta run around. And I knew that this was like a major issue for me back in the day, which is why I decided to get help where I could. And I decided to let Instacart handle all of my grocery shopping. So I no longer had to worry about running all the errands and having to run out and get more almond milk for my lattes. Rather, I was like, you know what, we're just gonna let Instacart handle that. So I want you to imagine skipping the store and getting back to designing packaging, orders, making, or maybe actually taking a break, even a nap. Remember those? Okay, so with Instacart, you can get groceries and essentials delivered in as fast as an hour so you can focus on growing your business without sacrificing a meal. Plus, less stress and more focus. And here's a tip. I've actually used Instacart before to order gifts from my daughter's friend's birthday parties because I haven't had time to run out and get presents. And I've been able to get the packaging like the gift bag and the G gift, like hello, Sephora, delivered to my house while I was in the middle of coaching sessions so that I could have the present right. It's like having a personal assistant without having a personal assistant. So if you want to do what I do and get the help where you can, you can try it. Now if you head to the Product Boss.com Instacart welcome back to the Product Boss podcast. I am your host, Jaclyn Snyder. I am so happy and grateful that you are here with me today. Listen, I know there are so many podcasts out there to listen to and your time is precious. So I so appreciate that you are following the show, that you show up live and listen two times a week. We have episodes twice a week. We actually have some goodies coming up for you in the near future and that you've left reviews for the show. It just means the world to me. So today's episode is going to be a little bit different. It's not one of my coaching calls and strategy sessions. It's going to be a reminder to you. It's going to be a breath. And truthfully, I want it to feel like a truth that I think you need to hear if you're on the edge of something right now. Because I know that edge, right? I know the edge. I know the one that shows up right before a launch, right before you raise your prices, right before you finally show your face or send the email or call yourself a brand. And what usually meets you there is fear, right? Fear. But here's what I want you to hear today. The fear that you're feeling, it means that you're close. Fear and growth live next door. That tension you feel, that's your next level knocking. So listen, my friends, we have been taught to treat fear like a red flag. Like, oh, it's a warning, a signal that something is wrong. But fear, especially in business, isn't always danger. Sometimes it's your nervous system saying, whoa, this is unfamiliar, this is bigger, this is different. And that doesn't mean that you're not ready. It means you're about to become someone new, right? That's the edge. I've seen it in our clients over and over again. The fear shows up right before the breakthrough. And if they stop there, if they retreat, if they play small, if they go quiet, they don't just delay those results, they delay the version of themselves that they were becoming. So I remember a moment when I was about to raise the price on one of my programs, right? So I coach you on products and my products are virtual products or digital products or programs. But remember, I am a product based business owner. I have been, I've made, I've sold things. And so I just want to talk about something that's familiar to me. Recently we were raising the price on one of our programs and I knew it was worth way more. I knew the transformation that we delivered in this program. I knew it. But the moment we were about to announce it, I froze. I mean, think about it. Think about the economy we're in and all the conversations and the news cycles and all the things. And I was like, okay, hold on, hold on. What if people say it's too much? What if no one buys it? What if I lose momentum or trust? But here's what I realized. I wasn't actually afraid of the price. I was afraid of being seen as someone who believed she was worth it. Someone who had such conviction to know, right, that this program is a world class program, that there's so much inside of it that I have seen transformations. I have seen business owners go from sales trickling in to making hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions of dollars. I've seen it create global impact of millions and millions of dollars created by small product based business owners. But do you want to know what came up for me? Was I worth it? And when I let that version of me take the lead, when I chose to grow instead of shrink, right? When I was like, no, no, no, like I am worth it, right? Not only am I worth it, I know that everything I've poured into my programs, I mean, if you've been here for any certain amount of time, you've seen that I have been transforming the product boss over the last year and a half, since I believed in myself and my co founder, who I bought the business from, believed in it enough for me to take the reins and take it over, right? No pressure, no pressure at all. Because her family and my family depended on me believing that I was worth it, believing that I was enough to take the lead, that I was enough that I could do this and I could grow instead of shrinking. So when I really started to face that fear, to have the breakthrough, right, that edge, that fear that shows up right before that breakthrough, we didn't just hit our goals. I mean, hitting our goals was amazing and awesome. But actually the thing that happened for me was that I became the person I'd been waiting on. So here's what I want you to understand about fear. It's just data. It's a signal that you're stretching. You're stretching the limits. You're stretching the bounds of what you know. You are becoming the next version of you who has the business, who has the freedom that has the visibility that you want, who already knows how to handle this moment. Because you show up anyway. You send the email, you post the offer, you join the program, you show up live, you believe in your product, even when no one else claps right away. That version of you isn't fearless. That version of you just decided to keep going anyway. I have chills as I'm saying this to you. I feel it so deeply in my heart and so deeply in my gut that I want you to hear this. Because that's what courage is. That's what growth feels like. And that's why the fear that you're feeling right now isn't a problem, my friend. It is a portal. Because when you feel fear in your business, I want you to ask yourself this. Is this fear protecting me? Or is it preparing me? Because you don't get to your next level by playing at your current one. So maybe you're about to raise your prices, shift your brand, finally speak to your person, stop playing safe. Invest in yourself in a greater way than you ever have, right? Maybe you're going to buy the machinery, invest in a program, hire the first person that's going to work for you or the next person. Maybe it's hiring someone to run your business. It just depends on the level of business you're at, right? Maybe you're just about to launch the thing you've been sitting on and fear shows up. Not to stop you, but to ask, are you ready to become her? Are you ready to become him? Are you ready to become that next level of you, the business owner, the brand leader, the version of you who sells, clearly shows up fully and trusts yourself. Because my friend, that's who you're becoming. And fear, fear is just part of the ride. Hey friends. Okay, so I don't know if you wrote anything like me, but sometimes it feels like my self care routine is slipping through the cracks. Because when I'm juggling and wearing all the hats in my business and doing all the things, I mean, the last thing I have to do is like really fulfill that self care routine that my daughter's talking about. She's like, mom. So listen, so. So when it comes to running a successful business, you can't really pour from an empty cup. And a lot of times that self care is like one of the first things to get yourself recalibrated. So that's why I want you to meet Glossy. Now Glossy is my favorite daily beauty supplement designed to transform your skin and gut health from the inside out. And I'm actually an investor in this business because I so believe in this idea of science backed ingredients for digestion and skin hydration. And glossy makes it really easy to look and feel your best without that whole 10 step routine in the mirror, the thing I don't actually have time for, all I have to do is simply mix the stick into my water and I'm good to go. So if you want to try this, because I so believe in this business, I think it's amazing. It's done so many wonders for my skin and my gut, which are two things that I need help with. And you want to simplify your wellness and your beauty. All you have to do is click in the show notes and you can use the code Jaclyn Snyder. So it's my full name. Use the code Jacqueline Snider. And I'm hooking you up with 15% off your order. So. So cheers to glowing skin and a thriving business. So if this episode spoke to you, if you're in that moment right now where the fear is loud, this is what I want you to know. It doesn't mean that you're off track. It means you are right there, right on the edge of something new, something different, something next level. You're close. You're so close. Right as I say this, I'm getting excited. Like, that's the feeling I'm feeling. I'm getting excited for you. I'm excited for me. Because that is that next level. That's that unlock. And you don't have to do any of this alone. That's why you subscribe to the show or follow the show. That's why maybe you've invested into some of my coaching programs. That's why you might be part of a Facebook group or community or you're doing something local, right? You don't have to do this alone. But why I'm here, right? I've got the how. My programs have the how. Do this, do this, do this. You want to get on Amazon, I'll teach you how to get on Amazon and grow on there. You want to sell wholesale, I'll teach you how to do that. You want to use other people's audiences, Great, Right? We've got the sales accelerator. You want to stand out in a crowded market, I will teach you exactly how. But the who that you need, right? The standout and standout society, or my masterminds or the product boss academy, right? There's all these hows. But the thing that I realized that so many of my students have absolutely loved, and it's here on the podcast and it's in the communities I've built, and it's. It's the who are you hanging out with? Who is speaking into your ears. Who are you listening to? Because I can give you the frameworks, I can give you the strategy, but who are you surrounding yourself with that is helping you build your confidence, helping you start to identify yourself as this next level of you and business, right? Our businesses are a reflection of who we are in our day to day lives. Entrepreneurship has never tested me the way that anything else has. Maybe being a mom, it's that reflection point. You know, how your kids are like a mirror. You're like, I didn't want to act like that, but now I'm acting like that. Entrepreneurship is the same thing. The things that we're doing, scared of the things that, you know, our fears and our inhibition, and all of the things that maybe come up, like the feeling of being alone, or the feeling of not knowing enough, or the fear of failure, or the fear of being seen, or the fear of being heard. All these different things that come up, those are reflected in entrepreneurship. Let your business be the mirror to you. But what I really want to do, and especially on this podcast, right, that's why I'm here. I'm here to coach you, I'm here to support you, I'm here to lift you, is I want to be here to hold you while you stretch. I want to be here to root you on, to tell you that it's okay to believe in you before you believe in yourself. Because entrepreneurship has been the greatest gift of my life. Making physical products and selling them. I'm a fashion designer by trade, right? I was working for other people and I was there till super late at night and I was cutting the fabric and I was building their dreams, like cutting the fabric, handing it to my sewers. I'm designing, I'm dealing with stores and wholesale buyers. I'm flying to different markets and putting on Runway shows. Like all the things that I did working for someone else. And I thought, how am I sitting here stressing out, having breakdowns and building someone else's dream? And I was given the opportunity at a young age to become an entrepreneur, to start my own business. I've had multiple product based businesses, one that did extremely well. I've had the privilege of building 2,000 fashion brands, including, you know, my own as a one on one consultant. I used to say I was sort of a mix between an architect and a contractor, right? Someone would come to me, they say, I want, I don't know, I want to make a bathing suit line for women that are plus size. And I did that. Or I want to make white coats for doctors that Feel like they're, you know, really expensive tailored jackets. I've done that, right? I've done so many different things and everything in between. And so not only would I design and figure out who the ideal customer was and come up with product development ideas and then handle the development and the production, you know, help them figure out how they were going to sell, market, grow their businesses. Like, I had the privilege of doing all of that before the product boss. And in that privilege, I had the time to be bi coastal and travel to see my husband across the country when he was working on Broadway. I had the ability to have my babies and take time off and then bring them to the office or go pick them up from school. But I also had major breakdowns, right? There were nights of crying and mornings of crying and days where my husband would be like, maybe you should just go work for someone else. And, you know, belief in myself or not belief in myself, stretching and having opportunities like Selena, Macy's or Everything But Water and having major celebrities wear my products or be in massive magazines. I had these really, really big highs and these really, really big lows and that fear of not knowing enough, not being enough, not having enough time, all of it. But I did it alone. There weren't podcasts, there weren't masterminds, there weren't online coaching programs, right? None of that. This world did not exist. It was actually more competitive than anything, right? I was in, I had my offices in the fashion district, downtown la, and we talked to each other in the hallways, like my neighbors that were also doing clothing lines. But like, did we talk? Did we really talk? No. So when we came out with a product boss and we came out with this podcast, the whole concept was there's so many podcasts out there that are business podcasts, but they were speaking to service based or brick and mortars or they were so, so, so, so niche to something. We're like, no one's talking to physical product based business owners, people who make and sell things. Maybe they're makers, maybe they're food companies, maybe they're manufacturing the way I came from, right? Maybe they're importing small businesses made at home in their living rooms or their basements, or much bigger brands and companies, multimillion dollar businesses, $25 million businesses, and all the different companies in between. And all of this, all of this entrepreneurship. I've been an entrepreneur since 2007 has been the greatest gift in the parts that have taken me up to the cusp of fear, that have held me right on the edge that have stretched me beyond my limits to the point of break. And I had the choice at that point to say, am I going to break down or am I going to break through? And I chose the breakthrough every single time. Sometimes maybe there was a bit of a breakdown into the breakthrough, right? Sometimes we need to have that. But the biggest shift for me happened a decade into my business, when I finally found business podcasts. That was like the craziest thing. I was like, oh my God, people are speaking in my language and they get how I feel. And oh my gosh, they have programs I can join and I could work with the podcaster like in her. I remember my one, she was my first, first, first mentor, Natalie Ekdal of BizCheck's podcast. And she was very much for service based at that point and well, still is service types of companies. And I was like, she gets me, she gets what I need. She doesn't have courses, but she had one on one coaching that I had hired her for and paid her more money than I'd ever, ever paid anyone for anything. But I was at that point where I was like, all right, I am on this cusp. I can keep doing things the way I've always been doing them and living kind of in this miserable feeling, or I can invest in myself and believe in myself. And it was super, super scary doing it. But that was that fear, like, that fear, that feeling, that was growth. Whispering, let's go, let's do this thing. And so that's me right now whispering to you. When you feel this, right when you feel this, when that fear starts to get really loud, it does not mean you're off track. It means that you're right there and you're so close, you're right on the edge of that breakthrough, of that next level. And so let me be the whisper in your ear right now of let's go, let's go, my friend. Let's build this business, let's challenge ourselves, let's have the breakthrough, let's get to that next level. Let's create these lives that we could have never dreamed of of as kids. And this is our chance. So I'm here for you twice a week to inspire you, to motivate you, to teach you, to be your coach in building your product based businesses. I'm here as your friend, as your mentor, and truthfully, I'm here as someone who believes in you. I deeply, deeply believe in you and all of your potential. And I can't wait to see the things that you do. All right. I'll see you in the next episode.
Episode 696: "The Fear You’re Feeling? It Means You’re Close."
Release Date: June 2, 2025
Host: Jacqueline Snyder
In Episode 696 of The Product Boss podcast, Jacqueline Snyder delves into the often-overlooked relationship between fear and business growth. Targeted at female entrepreneurs in the product-based sector, Jacqueline aims to empower listeners by reframing fear as a positive indicator of impending breakthroughs.
Jacqueline opens the episode by addressing a universal experience among entrepreneurs: the paralysis that fear can induce, especially when on the brink of significant business decisions like launching a product, raising prices, or rebranding.
“The fear that you're feeling, it means that you're close.” (05:45)
She emphasizes that fear is not a red flag signaling danger but rather a natural response indicating that an entrepreneur is stretching beyond their comfort zone. This tension is a precursor to growth and transformation.
“Fear and growth live next door. That tension you feel, that's your next level knocking.” (07:20)
Jacqueline shares a personal story about her hesitation to raise the prices of one of her programs. Despite knowing the program's value and the transformation it offers, she grappled with fears of backlash and loss of trust.
“I was afraid of being seen as someone who believed she was worth it.” (18:10)
Through this experience, she realized that her fear stemmed from doubting her own value rather than actual concerns about the market's reception. By overcoming this fear, she not only successfully raised her prices but also solidified her confidence as a business leader.
“When I chose to grow instead of shrink, I became the person I'd been waiting on.” (25:50)
Jacqueline introduces the concept of viewing fear as data—a signal that you're pushing your boundaries. Instead of avoiding fear, she encourages entrepreneurs to interpret it as evidence of expansion and imminent success.
“Fear is just data. It's a signal that you're stretching the limits.” (32:15)
She outlines how embracing fear can lead to significant breakthroughs, using examples from her clients who faced similar fears before achieving substantial growth and success.
“The fear shows up right before the breakthrough.” (38:40)
Moving from theory to practice, Jacqueline offers actionable strategies for entrepreneurs to manage and harness fear:
Acknowledge the Fear: Recognize that feeling fear is normal and a sign of approaching growth.
“Ask yourself, is this fear protecting me? Or is it preparing me?” (47:25)
Invest in Yourself: Encourage investments in personal development and business growth to build confidence.
“Invest in yourself in a greater way than you ever have.” (50:30)
Surround Yourself with Support: Highlight the importance of community and mentorship in navigating fear.
“Who are you surrounding yourself with that is helping you build your confidence?” (53:10)
Take Action Despite Fear: Emphasize that taking steps forward, even when scared, leads to overcoming fear.
“The version of you isn't fearless. That version of you just decided to keep going anyway.” (57:05)
Jacqueline wraps up the episode with a heartfelt message of encouragement. She reassures listeners that fear is a natural part of the entrepreneurial journey and that overcoming it is essential for attaining the next level of success.
“When you feel fear in your business, I want you to ask yourself this. Is this fear protecting me? Or is it preparing me.” (60:50)
Jacqueline reiterates her commitment to supporting her audience through The Product Boss community, offering resources and strategies to help entrepreneurs navigate their fears and achieve their business goals.
“I'm here to coach you, I'm here to support you, I'm here to lift you.” (62:15)

“I deeply, deeply believe in you and all of your potential.” (69:30)
