Ladies, if you're in that phase where your body is just doing new things, sleep's weird, energy's weird, cravings also weird. You are not alone. It's totally normal. Tons of fresh organic produce for fiber, sprouts, protein and creatine to keep your muscles and bones strong and your energy up. And supplements that can help you manage mood shifts. So whether it's perimenopause, menopause, or any other health journey, it's easier at Sprouts Farmers Market. And the Power Toilet bowl cleaner disinfects both the toilet brush and the bowl for two in one disinfection. Don't just clean Lysol clean. If you are a regular listener of this podcast, I'm going to assume something about you. I assume that you don't just want to feel inspired. I assume you're here because you want to change your life for the better. Maybe you got tired of starting over and over again. Or maybe you got tired of feeling discouraged because you had to. Maybe you got tired of knowing what to do, but you couldn't figure out how to motivate yourself to actually do it. Maybe you're tired of watching other people build the kind of life or the kind of business you know in your heart you're capable of. Let me ask you a real question. What would happen if you actually committed in a bigger way, not dipped a toe in, not just tried really hard, not left it up to chance, but actually decided that this is the season you're gonna figure it out? Because that is exactly what this community is for. And if you want to get involved and learn even more than you already are, I want to tell you about the podcast membership. The membership community is for people who love a deeper dive. Every single month, I teach a class on one of the most impactful topics we talk about here on the show. These are things that actually move the needle and that the audience responds to most. So things like how to set a goal that you will actually follow through on. Or how to build systems so your life doesn't fall apart every single time you get busy. Or how to create habits that stick because they're designed for your real life, not some fantasy version of you. Those are the topics of the first three months of this year. And this month we're going deep on something that changes everything. Your morning routine. And not the aesthetic version that you see online. Not the 17 step checklist that only works if you wake up at 4am or you're one of those 22 year old girls who drinks Matcha. As far as I can tell, I am talking about building a routine that anchors your day. One that builds momentum before the world gets a say in what you're going to do. I'm talking about a morning routine that helps you become the kind of person who keeps promises to themselves. If you're ready to stop winging it, if you're ready to stop starting over, if you're ready to actually build a life that feels as good as it looks, you're in the right place Today I'm going to share a teaser from this month's Premium class. It's about 20 minutes long and it should give you a good idea of what to expect. But know that inside of the membership community this podcast exists in both audio and video. So it's like a flow full on class. And like I said, you get the worksheet so you can follow along with me in real time. There's also a great community behind the scenes who's asking questions and commenting on each month's episode. And you get the entire back catalog. So for $10 a month you get all of the Deep Dives I've done so far, plus every single episode of the show absolutely ad free. And as a bonus, you get first access to any live events that we throw. Our Last Rise event sold out in a couple of weeks, but as a member of the community, you would have had access to that before anybody else. So if that sounds interesting to you, or you feel a tug that your intuition thinks it's time to go deeper, or you just want to check it out, here is an excerpt from this month's class. Hey guys, welcome to a new month of our Premium Podcast episodes. As you know, these are Deep Dive conversations where I teach you as much as I can possibly think of around subjects that I have a ton of experience with. And today's conversation is something I know really, really well and that is productivity. I feel really confident in Telling you that I am one of the most productive people you know. Truly. I heard this quote once that said people overestimate what they can accomplish in a year and underestimate what they can accompl in a decade. And I am living proof to myself that what you can accomplish in a decade of focus and productivity is unbelievable. When I look at where I was, when I look at my life in 2016 versus my life today, I actually can't believe I'm the same person. And that's pretty crazy because I am one of the biggest dreamers you've ever met. I constantly am imagining something new and different and I'm aiming at different things. But having the dreams and having the vision without knowing how you're going to get to those things is a big waste of time. I was trying to think of a nice way to say it, but honestly, there is a world filled with dreamers. There's a world filled with people who imagine things, who build the vision board, who have the Pinterest board, who talk about it. And that's really helpful for our hearts, right, for our spirit. But if you actually want to get to a different place, it requires action. And not just action one time, it requires consistent action. For many people, they get the first part of the equation, but not the second part. And the life that I live today and the life that my family lives today because of the choices that I've made, that is the result of figuring out how to not just have the vision, but actually how to consistently take action that aligns with that vision that gets me where I want to go. And that starts with productivity. Now, I know that you have heard a million things about how to be more productive. I'm assuming, I'm assuming you maybe have read some books. I'm assuming you've watched YouTube videos or listened to podcasts about it. I don't think it's possible to be interested in self development and not have heard conversations about people who are really good at selling you productivity hacks. My approach is a bit different and my approach is coming from two completely different places. It's coming from me 10 years ago, who was figuring out how to actually consistently show up and take actions that align with my goal. And it's also the lessons learned of the person who achieves success at a higher level than I ever thought was possible and, and experience really severe hard things because of that. Like, yes, I got to the highest heights of a success I never could have fathomed selling millions of books. And I'm on The top of the bestseller list. And I'm meeting Oprah and I'm doing these things. And also the adrenal fatigue of those two years is something I still deal with. The therapy that was required from that time period that. Still dealing with the anxiety that. That created, the panic attacks that. That so many amazing things came out of that time, and some really crappy stuff, too, because our bodies are not made to function constantly, without rest, without care. Like, we are not machines. And I know there's a ton of, like, typically alpha bros on the Internet who are going to tell you that the answer is to grind and to work and, like, get up at 5am and go till midnight, and they tell you, like, their schedule. And I'm just like, what? Who. What are you doing, bro? When are you eating? When's the last time someone gave you a hug? It's just not conducive to any kind of life that you and I want to have. And I am not the person who's like, oh, money doesn't buy happiness. Bs. Money can pay your bills. Money can make sure that your kids get to go to the dentist. Money can do a lot to lower stress, to help in a lot of ways. I believe in chasing a dream. I believe in having a goal. And if your goal is related to, like, building a business or having wealth or whatever, I'm not going to shame you for that. But I also believe now, 10 years later, that there are things that I could have done that would have allowed me to pursue the same level of success and achieve the same level of success without burning myself out. I didn't understand that at the time, but I can look back and understand that it was possible to hold both. But I never been in that place before. I'd never experienced anything like that level of success. So I didn't know. But I do know now. I want to teach you to be more productive without destroying your life at the same time. Right? So let's, like, be productive. Let's achieve the things. Let's get to the goals and also have a delicious coffee, take a nap, read a book, go on vacay, make out with our partner. Like, let's also have some good things going on that aren't just about achievement. And in order to do that, we have to start with, what is productivity and what does it need to be for you in the season that you're in? What is productivity, and what does it need to be for you right now? All right, I looked it up because I wanted the exact definition this is from Google. To be productive is to generate a good result, create value, or achieve intended goals. Generate a good result, create value, achieve intended goals. A few different things there that can mean different things to different people. But where I want us to start is with this idea of achieving a good result. Achieving a good result. This show is sponsored by BetterHelp. For some people, summer is their favorite season, right? There are grill outs and cookouts and maybe you go to the beach or you take a vacation. For those of us who are parents, it also means the kids are out of school. And while it's awesome and fun, it can also be super overwhelming to juggle all of the things and to not have the childcare that you're used to. And we don't talk about that enough. And when there's any subject in life that we don't talk about enough, it's a really good thing to bring up with your therapist. That's where BetterHelp comes in. In order to achieve a good result, you have to know two things. What is the result and what makes it good. I know it sounds super basic, but honestly, we rarely break things down in this way. And when we do, all of this stuff floats to the surface that we were not looking at. I cannot tell you how often over the years I've been doing a keynote or working with people in coaching or at a rise conference and someone will be talking about this place that they want to get to, this, like, mythical place of someday. And you're like, okay, well what would happen if you got, well, I would have this, this and this. Okay, and then what would. I wouldn't. That would be this and that. And then you sort of like boil it down and they're like, oh, I already have an awesome family. I already have a beautiful home. I already experience. There are parts of their lives that they are already living that are their dream life. But they're so obsessed with getting to a certain place that they don't slow down long enough to understand that it's happening. So you gotta know, what is the result that you are looking for and what makes it good. Let's start with the result. First of all, y' all know if you've hung out with me at all, if you've read Girl, stop apologizing. You know, I don't believe in to do lists. I believe in results list. Like, I have a result today. Here we go. It's the 21st of May. I have a result list for today. The number one thing on my result list for today is recording this video for you. And by the way, the result for today is not the same as the result for this week or this month or this season. But if you have no idea what you're trying to achieve, you'll spend the whole day, week, month, life doing a bunch of busy work that gets you nowhere. What is the result you are trying to achieve and what makes it good? So let's look at this from a different perspective. Maybe the result that you're trying to achieve right now is that you need to get your health under control. Maybe the result that you need right now is that you need to break up with her. Cause she's no good. Maybe the result that you need to focus on right now is healing your relationship with your son. The result looks different in different seasons. But if you've never even considered it, there's a strong chance that you are chasing a result that is completely misaligned with what you most need to focus on. Y', all, life is long. By the grace of God, you're gonna wake up tomorrow and the next day, and the next day, I'm. Life is long. You have a long time to do all the things that you are hoping to do. We get off track and we get misaligned when we start to obsess that there's not enough time for us to have the life that we want to have. And so all of a sudden, we kind of circumnavigate the work that we need to be doing, the work that matters right now for our overall health and happiness. We try and circumnavigate that with some bigger, sexier goal. Dude, I am the queen of this, the amount of times that life has gotten hard. And I will throw myself into my work because with work, I could write another book. You know, I could do something cool with this podcast. I could launch this thing over here. I could plan a conference. And I'm real good at that work. I can achieve through that work. I can get praise through that work. People will be like, oh, yeah, good job, you did this thing. Meanwhile, my health is in the crapper, or my nervous system is a mess, or what I actually need to be doing in this season is maybe going to trauma therapy. But I'm not doing what needs to be done because I'm like, oh, I'm going to focus on being productive. Productivity for the sake of productivity. It's a car spinning its wheels in mud. It is how people get burnt out. I am convinced it's doing a whole bunch of work that doesn't actually matter, that doesn't light your heart up. But you're just gonna keep doing the work because it's easier to achieve these things over here than look at what actually needs to happen. So the first question you have to ask yourself, and maybe you need to pause and do this work in your workbook right now, but the first question you need to ask yourself is like, what are the results that I'm trying to be productive against? This is the twist, this is the flip, this is the smack it, flip it, rub it down. Oh, no. Productivity does not have to look like what other people think productivity should be. Your version of productivity could be so freaking different to mine, to your sister, to your husband, to the other people at work. Productivity for you is like, you know what? I really want to figure out how to run a nine minute mile. And I'm going to spend the next three months figuring out how to run a nine minute mile. And it's not gonna make me more money and it's not gonna make me smarter and I'm not gonna get my PhD. Those are other people's productivity. Mine is how to run faster. This is the beauty of this life, is that we have time and then it's our life, our results. So what are the results that you need to focus on? Now? Let's add another layer. What makes it good? What is good to you? Good is all sorts of things. So I'm going to use health as an example. My husband, we've talked about this. I'm obsessed. I'm obsessed with his body. My God, what a gift. What a gift. If you've ever seen a picture, I mean, I don't know why you would have seen pictures of him with his shirt off, but if you had, you'd understand what a gift. He is so dedicated to his health. He really cares. He works out hard. He's very conscious of, like, how long he's working out for. And then, like, VO2 max versus body fat percentage versus blah versus cardio versus strength. Like, he's got a whole thing. Okay. It's one of his favorite hobbies. He's always been that way. He loves it. Kez's version of good result when it comes to working out, very different than sister friend. Okay. Very different than mine. I would say my goals for working out is I'm moving my body every single day, seven days a week for at least 30 minutes. I go back and forth between strength training and running. Those are my things. I walk all the time. Walking, I just sort of do because I really enjoy it. I don't necessarily think of it as a workout, but I'm like, running or I'm doing strength training. I am most days turning on my apple watch and 30 minutes. I do not care. Kez will not consider the workout finished unless. Do y'. All. Anyone have an apple watch? And you know when you're doing a workout, it'll say, like, active calories, and then there's, like, one where it's, like, a higher number, and then it's like, active calories, and then there's a lower number, right? So active calories is. If you were just living, breathing, sitting here talking to me, you'd be burning X number of calories. The active calorie on your watch is, like, how much calories you're burning plus the workout. These two things combine. The lower number of calories, which I can't remember what it's called right now, is just. Just the workout, okay? Kez will not consider himself finished with the workout unless the workout calories burned is at least, like, 100 and something. If you're not that kind of person, maybe if you're a Kez, a Kez workout buddy, if you guys would get along great, you're like, well, obviously, like, if it's not 1 billion calories and I don't care. I do not care. I am. We're just trying to survive over here. We are just 30 minutes. I'm putting in the effort. I did my strength training, or I'm going on a run. If it's a long run, obviously the calories are going to be higher. What? I'm not even looking. Your girl has one goal. Good result. 30 minutes every day is all we're aiming at. We've discussed it before. I will not be applying to be a model. I don't need six pack abs. Trying to be healthy, trying to be strong, trying to be 80 years old. Still lifting my suitcase into the overhead compartment on the plane. 30 minutes. That's my good result. My good result is very different than Kez's good result. But if you have not asked yourself for the results that I have, what's going to be good to me again? You're going to make choices that are misaligned or you are going to set yourself up for failure. Okay, that's. Oh, that sounds so harsh. What's. No, it is.

I am filming this for y' all today and I do a ton of prep. So I prepped this conversation for you about a week ago. And then I spend a week kind of thinking of stories and things. Like I, I get the framework for our conversation and then I think of all this other stuff that I, that I imagine will help the conversation be more exciting. I personally think if I sat here and just like, like just read you the bullet points, I think it'd be kind of boring. So I first get my framework. Then I think of stories like the example of me and Kez and how we work out and how it's different. Then I've got my notes here, I've got my notes in my journal and you cannot see it. Oh, here, I'll take a picture. But I anytime I do these. Hold on. I'm gonna give you guys. Oh, the back. Just, it's like so uncute. The back the office you cannot see is so not cute right now. I write out all of the things that we're gonna talk about on a big whiteboard thing here. And then I'm using this. You can't see it, but I'm using this as, like, here's what I want to talk to y' all about. Plus, I know that I'm not a YouTube makeup artist, but I did. This is a lot for me. This is, like, as glamorous as I know how to be. So I did my hair and I did my makeup, and I was like, okay, what's a cute outfit? I'm going to put my rings on, and I'm gonna do the very best I can with my lighting, which is not great. I don't have a production team here. I live out in the country. I did the very best I could. And still all of this process has taken me hours to get here with you. Okay. To get to this place where I can do this. That's not even to say afterwards, building the workbook and, like, all the stuff that we'll do for this one video, it's just. It's a lot. But for someone else, maybe they would want a month to prep. Maybe they would want a full script. Maybe they wouldn't feel comfortable just chatting with bullet points. Maybe they would want a full script to be able to do this. Or maybe for someone else, I have friends who do this work, and if they are not in full glam, like makeup and hair, people come to their house, fully, get them ready. If they're not on a production set, if they don't have a teleprompter, if they don't have the whole thing, they would feel like they did not do a good job for their community. Their version of what it would look like to produce today's result may be totally different. Also, there are people who do this. Roll in, turn the camera on, wing it. Wing it for three hours. See what happens. Right? We all have different ways that good means good to us. But if you don't know what it is that you want, you're going to set yourself up for failure because you don't know how much time it will take you to do the thing. Productivity is time management at an elite level. That is what productivity is. There are days where your result, where your one result that would change everything for you, but might take a whole day, it might take a whole week to get that result. But today, if I've got my results list and I start putting a bunch of stuff on it that I do not have time to actually accomplish. It's not a results list anymore. It's a to do list. To do list a hundred things long. What do we do with a to do list? We start with the simplest things so that we can feel productive by crossing stuff off. You gotta know what your result is and you have to know what good is to you. That's how you're gonna be most productive in this season. All right, guys, I hope you enjoyed that teaser of this month's deep dive class. And if you were listening to it and you wanna go deeper, you wanna take the video version, then please don't stop here. If you have it within your budget to add $10 a month, then this is where we get started. And if you don't have it in your budget, don't worry, you will still get so many episodes every single month, absolutely free. So if this sounds like it's for you. If you are ready to stop the guesswork and finally build something you can stick to, come join us inside the membership community. And let's finish this together.
