Hey, you slur. And the slur next to you. Welcome back. I am iconic rapper and pothead Redman.
A
And I am Daisy Bates. And this is the Read. Thank you for joining us.
B
Damn right it is. And thank you again. It is July. It is still July. But in the words of Swedish mega pop star and the new princess of pop, Zara Larson, summer ain't opria. And so we'll continue what we'll continue with Black Excellence as we normally do. Black Excellence today is going out to a darling that you guys sent over to me a couple of days ago. And it is a clip of a young black lady by the name of Jade West. She's a nine year old girl who took place in the US Gymnastics Classic not too long ago and she won the Classic Handstand, I believe it's called. Yes, US Classic Handstand. And it is just what it sounds like. People, these young people hopping into a handstand, checking their form and who lasts longest. When I saw you. I really wish I could find more information about this young lady. Maybe it's because she's nine. I don't know how long she's been doing this. But what I do know is based on this bdo, first of all, she seems like the smallest girl out there. But aside from that, her form and her focus in this handstand is freakish. It's like mama literally just scoot went into her little handstand and it is like she's not moving. She. It's perfect form. She's so locked in and she's just there, just upside down, holding herself up by her two nine year old arms. And look at all of these white girls around her who look like they've probably been doing gymnastics for much, much longer than her. I'm talking about cracked. These girls were crunched up and young Jade is like so.
A
It's just what I do.
B
I wonder which Barbie I'm going to get when we done with this. Cuz obviously I'm going to get whichever one I want. They got the new joints that have the like just like I'm thinking up there like, you know, it's getting real quiet on the Creek. Speaking of, I'm gonna go home and watch Craig on the Creek. Did you see that art piece of the brother who made Santana? Who like Drew Santana as a character from Craig on the Creek? No, but so brilliant.
A
I cannot wait for the algorithm to deliver that to me. I know it's gonna.
B
Oh, it will. I'm talking about she demolished this young lady. Nine years old and she looked like she could have been up there. So cute. She looked like she could have been up there for the rest of the day if she wanted to.
A
Oh, it was nothing.
B
Y' all nothing to me, right? And then when she won the the furry mascot man picked her up and put her on his shoulder. So it was cute and good for her. Nine go off. Little Simone Junior, right? Look up Jade West, US Handstanders.
A
Oh, I just found her. I'm looking at her now. She is completely. These other girls are wobbling around trying to stay up and she just once she found it.
B
She has just been chilling, she's just hanging out,
A
relaxed. My girl Said, why are y' all stressed?
B
She's like, I really want some chicken nuggets after this. But I know it's just hanging out.
A
Yes, it is.
B
It's funny. Delightful. Oh, shout out to you, young queen.
A
Yeah.
B
So let's get into our regular programting with a segment that we called Hot Tops. I figured I would start with some things that I'm actually interested in. I like when you guys. I mean, like, personal interest. I like when you guys send us letters sometimes and ask us what we think of this, are we checking this out, and yada, yada. So I figured I'd start doing some of that here again, too. First off, I want to talk about Chaka Khan's Colors performance. Have you seen it? Of course you've seen it.
A
I have. I think I've seen it. If that's the one that's going around on TikTok right now, then yes.
B
She's got, like, a reddish background, a goldish dress, and she's singing through the fire.
A
Yes, yes, yes. I have seen that.
B
There isn't anything that can stop Shaka. Like, nothing. She just does what she wants, and she doesn't.
A
That's a real icon, a real legend, a real queen.
B
All of that mouth I'm just watching.
A
Still performing.
B
Sinking dress on face. Unstoppable. Whoever does colors should really need to race for that one. Shaka cleared. She sounded so good.
A
Yeah, I. Yeah, I don't think. I. I don't think I even knew that that was new. Because those Colors performances show up on my TikTok algorithm so randomly that I never know. You know, I feel like I see Tedramos all the time, so. But yes. What? I really. And maybe she did do it, but I just didn't see the clip. I would love to hear. I know you. I live. You live.
B
But I'm sure she gave him that
A
one song and said, that is enough. But that song feels so. That is one of my favorite songs of all time. Like, that's probably my top three. That song just makes me feel so alive every time I hear it. So, yes. Applaud. A real legend when you see one.
B
You have to.
A
Yeah.
B
And the children need to know.
A
Yeah, they do.
B
The children needs to know.
A
Because they don't.
B
After you have teachers. I mean, they don't. We gotta teach them after you watch. What's that girl name? Earth Sign. My daddy died. Oh, no, not that one. Earth side. No. Earth Sign.
A
Earth Sign. Chills. My daddy died. Oh, yes. This came right up.
B
Yes. I mean, she's another one they've been comparing to Nicki Minaj because of her. Some of the delivery about the way she raps. But yeah, she's. She's awesome. I think she's really, really talented. And her colors performance was also fire, but it seems like, you know, she's for the younger gener.
A
Yeah.
B
So maybe after that one ends, the playlist will take you over.
A
Yeah.
B
Forever. And you'll be like, and we shall see.
A
Yeah.
B
Variety, education.
A
Love that.
B
So that one was fun. And speaking of. Have you ever seen. Do you. Are you familiar with Issu, the singer who. Rapper Isoud? The French. She's French black girl.
A
How you spell it?
B
She. Y, S, E, U, L, T. Okay.
A
No.
B
Gorgeous French black lady. She sings, she raps sometimes. She's a model. She was at the Met gala. Actually, she was the one in the Met gala with that. I think she was in that clip with Doja Cat where they were doing Coconut Water. Coconut Water. That clip with Doja Cat.
A
Oh, I see now what you talking about. Oh, okay.
B
She is spectacularly underrated.
A
Oh, that is a fit for your ass. Wow.
B
I mean, she's everything. She's legitimately perfect, gorgeous, talented. In sequel, I think in France, she's like, you know, Erica, Beyonce, Angie Stone, Scott.
A
Yeah. A much bigger deal.
B
I think the American girlies need to get tapped in. Anyway, I bring up Lee Seoul because she has a new song with JT and it's very early 90s R&B pop. Almost got like what Doja was trying to give with this last album. The video's spectacular. They both look tee. I love.
A
They do look good.
B
JT's verses. The video is so good and so classic and has like a really great sound. That again, maybe the young people, now that my childhood is vintage. I mean.
A
Yeah, we are at that age,
B
you know, I'm glad that they're getting into it and I really, really liked it. She also has. I think Eastlit has the best colors show.
A
Oh, she did one too.
B
Yeah. But it's like a miniature opera. And her song, I think it's called Chorus Corpse. It's like legitimately one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard in my life. I'm gonna send you C O R
A
P s Like that's the French word for body.
B
Yeah.
A
Okay.
B
And she. It's a gorgeous song. I'm gonna send it to you because, I mean, you also will probably understand what she's.
A
What she's saying. Yeah, probably. I love. I just saw the clip of her and jt, though they do look good as hell, so I'm definitely gonna. Yeah, I'm gonna check her out for sure.
B
And the song's really, really good, so shout out to a living diva. I followed you for a while, sis. And I'm ready for the girls to get in. Amen. What's one of your favorite songs and videos right now?
A
Um. Ooh, you know what is. I actually cannot stop playing Hate that I Made youe Love Me by Erica, by Erika, by Ariana Grande. I love that song.
B
I've only watched it. I mean, I've only listened to it one time is when I was, like, I just woken up and I was watching trailers and music videos, and that was one of the ones I watched. I don't. But I don't remember how it goes. I know in the video that. Who played her love interest in the video.
A
I haven't even seen the video. That's. I have not even seen the fucking video. It's been the sound on TikTok that keeps showing me, because there's one. There's a set of lyrics in particular that really gets me. It's at the very beginning of the song, and she says something like, just know that I will find my way from you like flowers from a tomb while you decide who you are. And there's something about that that really just resonates, and it just has stuck with me, and I cannot stop playing that fucking song. Like, it's short, it's cute. The lyrics seem one way. And then the chorus comes in and it's like, I'm actually so sorry that I made you fall for me and now all of a sudden, you really want me and I'm exactly your type, because I didn't even try to. And now I'm over it. So I would say that's my bad. But y' all be freely giving me your hearts and so am I wrong for loving and then moving on when it's over. I don't think so.
B
So, yeah, I have to listen to it again.
A
I just. Love. I don't know why it is really just all me. I love that song.
B
I think I was half sleep when I first played the video, and so I remember it's her. I want to say the person who played her love interest was Justin Long.
A
I don't go out of my way.
B
And it was like he was going through torment and having, like, the worst era of his life. And she's just kind of standing there like, damn. Like, see, in these shots, like, wow, your life looks Miserable.
A
Yeah.
B
I mean, I have to watch it again.
A
So. Yeah, I think that is. You know, other than that I'm just listening to Beyonce, that Creole demon, back to her trickery stunts. Yes, I did, and I'm sick of it. God damn it.
B
Again. Yeah. Oh, and she could mean nothing, she said.
A
And you know, it is. Is the thing. I know it. It's nothing. But at the same time, I can't stop. Like, she. She back in somebody's backyard in Brooklyn somewhere. I don't know. The Hive pulled up the picture and was like, See, she was in this same backyard five years ago, and she was sitting in the middle of these three chairs. And then she put the Bee's Knees as, like, a little caption or overlay or whatever on one of those photos. And then somebody looked it up, and there is a band from the 70s that was in Texas called the Bee's Knees, and they had an album called what Pure Honey. Coincidence? Who knows? But that Creole.
B
What would that have to do with anything? I don't know.
A
I don't know.
B
Okay. As a member of the dulul high that sits kind of like in the back of the class. Calm down. Like that one. That one's really.
A
No, because what if. Because what if. See, she. She. She. See, see, see, see, see, see, see.
B
Now, a couple of weeks ago, you were demolishing the girl's voice.
A
I know.
B
So what is different?
A
What's different is that bitch is back in stiletto heels. That's what it is.
B
You said that already, Right? Maybe she loves. She told the girls that she barely know how to walk in anything else.
A
She.
B
She just probably wanted her comfort back.
A
Right? So that. That knee is healed up. That's the thing.
B
Yeah.
A
Everything is back to factory settings, and I just. I don't know. I'll be. Ah, I don't know.
B
But, yes, I think something's on the horizon. I just can't get too deep in it because it's. It's a spiral.
A
Right.
B
Sophie Tucker song.
A
And I wrote. I try not to. I really do try not to do this. Isn't it kind of fun? But then I saw. It is. Because I saw the post about the Bee's Knees and them being around in the 70s and having an album called Pure Honey.
B
Like, it's just shit about that.
A
God damn it.
B
But I did see them knickerbockers and was like, girl, oh, yeah.
A
And she dead set on bringing Capri back. What are we doing? Beyonce? God damn it. We don't look like you I won't be bringing Capri back. The.
B
Yeah, no, everybody ain't.
A
Oh, she's on my nerves, B. Cuz. What are you doing, you witch?
B
I mean, she's up there soaking up mom. Donna. Stan.
A
Well, I can't blame is nice.
B
When. When the dog. Somebody asked him the other day would he take a pay raise, and he said no. And then they asked why. He was like, well, when I go to New Yorker's house and ask them what they find important, it's never that. You're just making enough money. And I was like, zarron, would you like my entire ass? A portion of the ass?
A
No.
B
What are you like, he's just so great.
A
Yeah.
B
He posted something I saw yesterday about Netanyahu being a war criminal. Beyonce's up there in Mamdani having, you know, the time.
A
She is. And I. I mean, the. The mayor already makes, like, almost $300,000 a year. He is just fine. But I do love that he was like, you know, people. People can barely afford the bus and the train. Like, nobody wants to hear, Mom, Donnie getting a raise right now. Even though it would probably be the least, like, messy situation for a mayor to get him a raise. Like, I think most of us would have let it happen. But no, right? He. Yeah, somebody interviewed him about Trump, and he was like, what do you think about Trump? Always saying how handsome you are. And my mommy was like, I mean, thank you. Like, I don't really know what to say. That nigga is still weird. I'm still gonna call him a fascist. I'm still gonna call Netanyahu a war criminal and tell him that he not welcome in New York. But, yeah, of course she is. She over here soaking it up because it's a great time to be in New York.
B
There's a trailer for a film called Other Mommy that dropped yesterday that a lot of you guys are talking about because it scared the shit out of you, this trailer. I know a lot of you guys know that I'm a big, big horror fan. And so I wanted to let you know that I already seen the trailer. I'm very, very excited for it. This is like, a great role for Jessica Chastain.
A
But
B
I read the book that Other Mommy is based on, I think last year or so. It is called Incidents around the House. I think it's by Josh Malerman. Please read this book if you're into horror novels or anything like that. If you're interested in the movie and you haven't read Incident Around House, please read it. It is genuinely scary. It is so well written. And I know this movie is not gonna do it. I'm still going to go watch it because it looks fun and scary. But what makes the book scary is the perspective that it's. It's told from this little girl's perspective.
A
Yeah, true. Okay.
B
And this little girl is experiencing something off and terrifying. But the. It's written. It's not written like, oh, my mother came home and her favorite dress that she wears to the law office. It's literally like you're reading a little girl talking to you.
A
Oh, nothing. Thank you.
B
Mommy just got home. I'm hungry. But I didn't say anything. She says she'd make pasta. I love pasta. Something's like. It's written like a kid that's scary. So when you're reading about something, you know, awfully terrifying and you're learning about the world through. Through a narrator that has a limited understanding of the world anyway, it makes it scarier.
A
Yes, exactly. That's exactly what I was thinking. No fucking thank you.
B
Because there are moments in a book. Like, there was a one moment, couple of chapters in the book that sent a chill down my spine because it was literally like, holy. But this is what she was talking about.
A
Yeah. Oh, my God. Oh, no, thank you.
B
I can already tell by the trailer it's not just from her perspective. First of all, the girl in the trailer, she's maybe 9 or 10 years old. The girl in the book was like, maybe four or five. So it's very, very, very different.
A
Right.
B
And it's obviously also obvious in the trailer that she, like, perspectives change. There are shots or scenes that we see where it's the parents talking. So I'm sure it's gonna be more of a straightforward horror movie. Very excited to see it. But, girl, if any of you are interested, I highly suggest you read Incidents around the House. It is genuinely, I think, one of the scariest books I read in a while. And books don't usually scare me. I'd finish a chapter or a few chapters and be like, you know what? I'm gonna close the closet door and leave the light on before I go to bed. It's tea.
A
No fucking thank you. I'll be late for that. Nope.
B
Have you ever seen Coraline?
A
Nope.
B
Children's film. But a lot of people reference it as being, like, very scary for kids.
A
Right.
B
And are you familiar with it?
A
Isn't it the Johnny Depp movie or what's his name?
B
It's a cartoon.
A
What's his name?
B
First Animated.
A
The man who always do scary stuff. Not Johnny Depp. What's his name? The white man. He always do something scary.
B
Justin Long.
A
No. Okay, never mind. It must not be who I think it is.
B
It's an animated movie.
A
It's. The doll has buttons. Spies.
B
Yeah.
A
Oh, yeah. No, I'm not looking at that. But I'm trying to think of that white man who does all the scary stuff.
B
Who is the white man?
A
And everybody always books him to do creepy things. No, he's like a director.
B
Oh, Tim Burton.
A
Yes.
B
Is it a movie? No. Henry Selick did this movie, I think. But it's very, very good movie about a little kid, a little girl who can't stay in her new home and resents her parents. And then she finds Adora to another, like a mirror world that has everything that's perfect and a different mother and father. And in that movie, it's called. She's called the Other Mother. And everyone there has button fries. And the little girl. I can't remember her name. Oh, her name's Coraline, you fucking idiot. God damn it. Like, you idiot. It's really one of my favorite movies. But the antagonist does have a moment in the end where she's kind of scary, if you're a kid. So a lot of people are comparing this Other Mommy movie to Coraline, which is fair. But I want to. I just want to say, as someone who's seen Coraline many, many times, owns a copy, read that book. Other Mother from Coraline would have a shrine for Other Mommy. Other Mother wishes she was Other Mommy. That book is tea. It's so scary. I can't wait for this movie.
A
Wow. Meanwhile, I'm scared just hearing you talk about it. It's a zero percent chance. I'm not going nowhere near that horrifying.
B
And I wish that they didn't put this part in the trailer where she's like. She says something. Other Mommy is like, can I go onto your heart or something? And she's like, you said you wouldn't leave my room. Why did they put that there?
A
No, thank you.
B
Oh, I can't wait to watch it. It looks so good. Anyways, happy for you. What is the last movie that you watched that kind of scared you?
A
Oh, I don't do that. What was the creepy one?
B
It doesn't have to be a scary one. Maybe just creep drop.
A
What was the creepy one that we both saw a couple of years ago? No.
B
Oh, long leg.
A
Yeah, long legs. Oh, that was definitely the. Oh, sinners. Yes, sinners helped Me out. Yeah. So it would be sinners, then. I really stay away from anything, even horror adjacent. Like, it's just really not for me, so.
B
But she don't like stuff that's super. Like. Like maybe like action films that have a lot of violence and stuff. You don't like those either, don't you?
A
Yeah, I don't like a lot of violence. I don't like blood and fighting and shooting and all that.
B
So that's fair. Yeah, you can do it on like a. I almost said Marvel again.
A
Yeah.
B
I have to stop caving.
A
You're correct. No, no, I won't set it in the movie.
B
Like, there's a character named M A R dash V E L L. Okay. And that's not Marvel. That's Marvel.
A
You can. You can feel however you would like to feel about it.
B
I've been so Marvel. You can stand those. There's a little bit of Godfrey, but just people kicking each other.
A
Yeah. For the most part. I'm good with Marvel movies.
B
Well, there's a new Doomsday trailer. Speaking of Mar Vell, there's Avengers Doomsday, which comes out on December 18th. Figure some of you might also be like, hey, girl, have you seen the trailer for this? This is the next big Avengers movie. It's the one and done, girl. Marvel better pearl it off. Robert Downey Jr. Is playing a Romani man named Dr. Jones. He has an accent. Uh oh, Dr. Jones, Dr. Doom. He has an accent. Interested in how Romanis feel about that? Probably not. Great.
A
Probably not.
B
I'm interested. The trailer has me interested. Sure. He's in it.
A
So I. So I see Anthony Mackie,
B
some folks.
A
Oh, no. More.
B
Yeah, from.
A
From the Water Forever. Yeah, so that. Yeah, this should be.
B
There's no reason for you to watch this. Yeah, I was gonna like, zero.
A
Oh, yeah. This looks so good. No, I don't know. I don't know what the. I'm looking.
B
I don't know who.
A
That's the last one.
B
You watched the last one?
A
Yep, the last one where Tom Zendaya husband was like, I don't feel so good, Grandpa. Or whatever. Yeah. What? I'm pretty sure that's the last one I looked at.
B
First of all, Zendaya's in it too. I mean, in the mcu. And so I was like, zendaya. But then again, her love interest is her literal husband in the mcu.
A
Right.
B
When Zendaya's husband said, I don't feel so good, grandpa, that's one of the funniest things I've heard today. But also not far off.
A
You know what I meant?
B
Yeah, absolutely. After a second.
A
That's the one.
B
So you never even saw Endgame when
A
everyone came back, but then they died again, Right? Because didn't. There was a scene in Wakanda or right outside of Wakanda. And was this the one where he snapped and half the world died?
B
That's Thanos. That wasn't in Wakanda.
A
Oh. Oh, God. Okay. I don't know. I don't know what I saw. I saw the one.
B
Yeah. I saw Infinity War. Cause it came out right after Black Panther.
A
I saw the one with the stones and Zoe Kravitz.
B
Right.
A
Infinity War. I mean, Saldana was in it. That's Infinity War.
B
Yeah. You're talking about Infinity War. That was right after the first Black Panther.
A
Okay.
B
Which is what made you go see that shit in the first place. Cause you liked the movie.
A
Okay, now it's starting to click.
B
But I don't think you saw Avengers Endgame, which was like the part two Avengers, Infinity War. And Black Panther's Black Panther is barely in that because he's one of the. Who disappeared, I think, in the first one.
A
Okay.
B
In Infinity War.
A
No, I don't.
B
These people look familiar. It's been 10 million flops since then. So you go on see Avengers. Doomsday would be like, who are these people?
A
I mean. Yeah, I'm looking at them now and don't know. I barely know the. The actors, much less the characters, so.
B
Fair enough. You might like thunderbolts under.
A
I think I did see that one. Is that the one where the enemy was depression and mental illness?
B
Yes, that one was really good.
A
Yeah, that one was.
B
I cried. I cried a lot when I watched that one.
A
Yeah, that one is good.
B
Yeah. I'm sort of interested in seeing this. I mean, I was always gonna see it, but the trailer made me go, mm hmm. What else you got? They finally put some clothes on Rebecca Romijn's Mystique. Do you remember the old X Men movies? Like, old, old. When Halle Berry was Storm and Hugh Jackman was like Wolverine.
A
I remember when that was true. Yep.
B
There was. Rebecca Romijn played a character named Mystique that could shape shift, and she was butt naked blue.
A
Okay.
B
I never understood why she didn't have any clothes on outside of the fact there was this famous supermodel and actor playing her.
A
Right.
B
But in this new one, they bring a lot of those characters back. Mystique is one of them. And she finally has clothes on and she Looks like a bit more like the character show. Okay, well, good. Sign some cute things. Crystal's not going for good reason.
A
No, I don't think I am. But I would be there just for vibes. I would not of what's going on. Literally just there because everybody else went.
B
Zendaya had like two red carpet premieres and like photos because she's in the Odyssey and she's in Spider man, which comes out next week.
A
Yes. And somebody said she is indeed only in the Odyssey for like three minutes.
B
And yet they said a lot of people are in it for very carried
A
all of the press tours for this movie.
B
I'm going tonight to watch it. They convinced me.
A
I'm waiting for a day when I feel really awake.
B
Cause that is so fair.
A
Three solid hours in the movie theater. Don't let me have some popcorn and a little drink too, baby. I'm taking a nap.
B
The nap. So, like, what does Christopher Nolan want from us?
A
Right? I'm gonna wait till I'm super awake. But otherwise.
B
But everybody who's seen it, and when I say everybody, I mean niggas that I believe have said, it's amazing. I went with such and such. Or somebody dragged me and I'm going again.
A
Oh, wow. Going again.
B
Yeah.
A
For a three hour movie.
B
Yes.
A
Okay.
B
So they must be big.
A
That's big.
B
I'm gonna go look at her.
A
All right. All right.
B

B
so Spain won the World Cup. I am happy for y'. All. You haven't heard me talk too much about the World cup here. Cause I wasn't very interested. Absolutely zero shade. But I am talking about it today because apparently Aubrey Graham bet $1.5 million via stake on Argentina to win.
A
Of course he did.
B
Yeah, to win the World cup. And of course that did not take place. So the girlies are committing to this, this idea of a Drake curse where they basically believe that anybody, any team, any athlete that Drake openly places a bet on supports will in fact lose and or die. So. So Bossip actually posted like 10 different moments that you know, that are.
A
Oh well, no way.
B
Yeah, 1,000. And I mean it. It's weird.
A
Okay,
B
so openly via stake Drake. Drake bets 1.5 on Argentina. They actually absolutely they absolutely lost that. Now, I saw that he also openly bet. How much was it? He also bet on Canada when they played Argentina.
A
Damn. Lost that too.
B
Lost that too. So a part of me was like, does he believe the curse? And he was like, well, I'm gonna openly vote for these bitches that just beat us. Cause fuck them. I don't know.
A
I think Argentina was the favorite. They won last World cup, so I think they were. I think they were probably the favorites anyway. Like, that was. I wouldn't say a safe bet because when it comes down to those giant moments, anybody can win, which is why you would never catch me betting.
B
Like, I said the same shit.
A
If you catch me betting more than $100, it is not me. My tether has come and taken over, and that bitch is. I simply will not do it. So you would. I mean, you would think Drake would at least keep it quiet, like, just don't tell nobody because it seemed like you. Well, you also don't want to be silly and believe in all them superstitions, but never mind.
B
Um, he also. He was also repping Israel Adesanya when he fought Alex Pera, and Israel looked like he was legitimately going to win this until he got knocked out or TKO in the fifth round. Trick also supported Charles Leclerc during a Spanish Grand Prix race.
A
What? Nigga, you betting on Spanish drag racing?
B
Like, I.
A
You got a problem? Jesus Christ.
B
Says during the race, Charlie Kirk's engine failed while he had a comfortable lead, handing the win away in devastating fashion. Oh, no.
A
It would be sick.
B
Drake partnered with Barcelona's football team. He loved me. And this time it says he just gave them jerseys with the OVO logo on it. And these bitches lost to Madrid 3 1.
A
Oh, my God, bro.
B
So the girls were like, bitch, you don't even gotta bet on people. You just have to be involved.
A
Even you with your merch.
B
Drake allegedly put a huge bet on this Conor McGregor fight that just happened. Conor McGregor toe his ACL a minute into that first round. When I tell you, I was watching that fight too. Like, why do we have to do this? You have this big, highly publicized, highly anticipated fight with one of the biggest names in mixed martial arts, and she decided she wanted to be Jean Claude. That damn right at the opening, wrapped the whole event up. Wow.
A
Wow.
B
Imagine if you put some real money up on that fight.
A
Oh, I would have been so pissed. Especially to lose like that girl, having the fucking boxing doctor come out like, yeah, sorry, y', all, he can't perform no more. Sofa.
B
He backed Kamaru Usman, who got his head kicked by Leon Edwards and knocked the fuck out. He voted. I mean, he supported Carlo Alcaraz. Tennis player.
A
Okay, Tennis.
B
Well, he always got chopped, girl. He, he.
A
Jesus.
B
He backed up Tyson Fury when he fought Alexander Usyk. And this was his. Tyson Fury's first loss of his professional career.
A
Wow.
B
Tyson Fury, also a massive boxer.
A
I didn't even hear about these. Jesus.
B
You know, I watched the fights. Those are the only ones I really know about on this thing.
A
Oh, yeah. Okay. Well, damn, stop betting.
B
He put up a whole bunch of money for Kentucky. What was their. Their college football class?
A
March Madness.
B
This is a final four. Kentucky lost to Wisconsin. They're the Wildcats.
A
Yeah, well, Kentucky is the Wildcats. Wisconsin is like the Beavers or Badgers or something.
B
Wildcats entered the game a perfect 38, 0. Oh, they're expected to care ass.
A
How long ago was this?
B
This is a while ago.
A
Okay.
B
March Madness. Okay. The Badgers absolutely gagged Kentucky instead, 7164 into one of the greatest season college basketball history, according to what I'm reading. Yeah. And you know, a lot of these are Drake openly saying, here go my steak bet. Here go my steak bet. One million Leafs versus Panthers, 800,000. Oklahoma versus Pacers. Like everything he bet on and share it, they lose.
A
Oh, good. He bet against the Thunder. That's exactly what his bitch ass get. I like to hear that. And then went and got a SGA tattoo, you fake corny ho. Didn't he cover up his Lebron tattoo with a Shay Gildrich Alexander tattoo? He's weird.
B
Yeah, yeah, he is kind of. He's a dork.
A
Yeah, yeah.
B
He just want to be loved and that's fine. And now he super looks like at me. Theo House. He looks like a Theo. He looks like a Theo.
A
You said it like my nephew. And I was so confused.
B
Oh, I mean, Theo, he.
A
No, he do he do he look. He do like he finna be out there on a grill in them sandals, right? I mean, he's supposed to. He's fucking 40. He's supposed to. So.
B
Yeah, you thought Theo.
A
But I mean, as far as life happens.
B
Yeah, I thought that this was delicious. I mean, first of all, this money that Drake is putting up on, Steak is not his money. Oh. Like let's be clear, it's Steak is giving him the money to bet and then he's going like, hey, Steak, he's an ambassador. Co owner, whatever the fuck. Anyway, like, girl, he ain't losing no damn money.
A
Yeah. So I wonder if he does that. And people just bet the exact opposite of whatever Drake puts up.
B
Like, probably now just.
A
Yeah. Because we've established a pattern. I wonder how often he wins. Does he win more than he. Because we only hear about the. We only hear about the losses, so.
B
Good point.
A
I would really be curious to know if he ever wins any of these big game bets.
B
I just thought it was really fascinating and just to taste. Funny that so many of these are like, oh, he bet for this person to win millions of dollars. And they didn't just lose, they shattered every bone in their leg and the doctor had to amputate. They'll never play again. It's like. Like, is there a curse? Because I wholeheartedly believe in the Reed curse, where we say something nice and then they burn down an orphanage.
A
Yeah, it does happen. Has stopped me from saying certain things about people in the hopes that I. Especially white people. Like, God damn, please, please.
B
Cuz, you know, they'll be first in line.
A
They will. They can't. They actually cannot wait to do it, so. Well, Drake. Okay, girl.
B
Have any words of advice for the doll?
A
No. It'd be like that sometimes if you not playing with them with your own money. That's good, that's smart. Because you would surely be out millions
B
at this point, but you're also encouraging people, mostly young people, to pick up a dangerous tattoo.
A
You know, there is the problem of, like, what you are influencing others to do, but in a capitalist world. Yeah, I don't know that that critique gets messy, baby.
B
If you're a regular degular, please put the stake down.
A
Right. Yeah, yeah.
B
You betting on steak. And. And we can't afford steak.
A
Can't afford too much of nothing. Because what, even what you can afford might not be safe to purchase and cook and eat in your own home.
B
So we're dying. We're dying, Kim.
A
Right? And here go Drake talking about blowing more money than most people will see in their whole lives on a game.
B
Lil Wayne fully supports Trump's ballroom agenda. The reasons are delicious. So I don't remember what he's filming this for. I think it's for a podcast. And they're asking him all sorts of random tandem questions. Actually, I saw Benny Blanco was in the room. And what is that other guy's name who plays? It's not Lil Dicky, is it? Lil Dicky is that white man who had, like, a show on Hulu about being a white rapper, and he has that song with Chris Brown where they, like, switch bodies and then he's like, can I say the N word? I guess I could say the N word. Nigga, nigga, nigga.
A
No idea at all.
B
I think his name's Little Dickies.
A
All I know about Benny Blanco is that he got dirty feet and he married to that. That little girl Selena Gomez.
B
Selena Gomez, Yeah. That's about him. I'm glad I did know the feet thing.
A
Yeah, he. Yeah, so I googled it.
B
I didn't know the foot thing.
A
It does say. It does say. It does say that man's name is Lil Dicky.
B
I'm not surprised about the foot thing, but I wish I didn't know.
A
Yeah, there was a picture of him on a couch or something, and the bottom of his feet was black. And people were like, why are your feet so fucking dirty? And then they kind of made jokes about it. And Selena was like, I love my dirty foot, man. Or whatever.
B
No, she didn't. She was like, was he outside kicking rocks barefoot? What happened?
A
I mean, I imagine he just doesn't wash the bottom of his feet because I think a lot of white people don't. So that was probably it. But yeah, she. Oh, yeah, she posted a picture of her kissing his filthy feet.
B
You are fucking lying tonight.
A
It's right. It's Selena Gomez. And then it's a picture of him with his dirty toes. And she is kissing him. So yuck.
B
I'm so worried about women. I really am, because why? I don't know why. You're beautiful. He's not with him.
A
Like, you can just stay with him and be like, yeah, my man didn't wash the bottom of his feet that day. Why would you need to then go kiss his toes on camera like you? Yeah, this was back in March. Disgusting.
B
And he's ugly.
A
I mean, there's that, too. I don't get it at all. But there is no accounting for attraction.
B
So what is Ms. Wait for the thing that Lil Wayne said? Basically, he was saying something to the effect I'm gonna pull it up. That he doesn't like the fact that when they have events or things there, ceremonies, they do it on the lawn. And I'm figuring, like, maybe he's like, oh, that seems unsafe, or some foolish, you know, response that he would have. Instead, it was giving, like, it feels like backyard barbecues. And when he performed there, he felt like he wasn't good enough to go inside. But then Donald Trump was like, oh, no, this is just standard. Whatever, whatever. And here I go.
A
Okay.
B
I'm so glad to hear Trump say when they was mad at him about building the ballroom. This is on a podcast called Friends Keep Secrets. And as he's. It looks like he's playing a video game or something. Sorry. It looks like he's got a controller in his hand at one point, but they're literally just in there kicking it. And he said, everything we do, we have to do it on the damn lawn. People who don't know nothing here that think he's just being Trump. No, for real. I was glad to hear him say that. He basically felt like, yeah, he thought that because he had to go through perform at the back instead of inside, that it was profiling. Until Donald Trump called.
A
Oh, girl. Profiling.
B
Go ahead, please. He said, I thought I was not good enough to perform inside. So when Donald Trump made that statement, I was glad. Oh, go ahead.
A
Now, I know school was never nothing. That too much matter to Wayne. I know that. But n. You were outside on the lawn because that's where every big event at the White House is. They don't have the. That's the entire. Why would it be that you aren't good enough to perform at the White House as opposed to. The White House does not have space for this? Like, that's actually Trump's justification is that he wants to have, you know, balls and military bullshit and, you know, concerts, monster truck rallies and whatever the fuck, so he room to do it in. Like, that is the whole point that the rooms inside the White House are not big enough for this. Like, that. Why would it be. Oh, God. And so you just ran with that assumption the whole time. You thought that they had you out there for Juneteenth or whatever, and you just weren't good enough. And then Trump came out and said this, and you were like, okay, now I fuck with Trump. Girl, shut up.
B
What world do you live in, Right? Are you truly delusional? Why would you even approach that place and then be like, I thought it was profiling. Do you know where you going?
A
Right?
B
Whether it was or not, do you
A
know where you're going? Do you know where you're going? There's possibly nowhere more secure in the United States than the White House that, okay, all right, you're. And on the list of priorities, like, boy, you're weird.
B
I would choose the fact that two eggs cost $560. I would choose the fact that can't nobody get to work because gas costs $8,000 a gallon. I would choose the fact that another state. State of Israel is wagging a dick across our goddamn upper lip. And. And continuing To. To use us to help blow up children. Yeah. I would look to the fact that it's motherfuckers here who still don't have clean water to drink or shower with. I would vote to the fact that motherfucking Super Vil from when I was a five year old feel like they can come and be there. But, like, there are so many things, Dwayne, that I would be concerned with coming out of the White House besides them building a ballroom.
A
I mean. Right?
B
And because you're like, the lawn. The lawn feels ghetto. You're Lil Wayne.
A
So ghetto should feel right at home, actually.
B
Hello. You're not one of them. You're not one of them.
A
Oh, God.
B
You'll never be one of them.
A
Right? Taking the opportunity to say anything on behalf or in support of Donald Trump for any reason. Like, there are just so many other choices you could have made. Nigga, you're being weird.
B
Alicia, also in that interview, continues to represent Missy Elliott.
A
Oh, dude.
B
And name her as one of his favorite rappers. He's forever. He has said Jay Z and Missy Elliot are his two favorite rappers of all time.
A
Oh, yeah.
B
And yeah. Correct about that. Because Missy. Yeah. Everything else, he could have kept it. Everything else, everything else, you could have kept it. I don't. What. When's the last time that you. Anyways, do you think I was gonna
A
invite you to come perform in the ballroom? Do you think that's what's up next?
B
Maybe he might.
A
Y', all, stranger things have happened.
B
Trump loves celebrities being involved in his fuckery because he's always loved being associated with famous people, and now more than ever, where damn near every living person with sense hates his ass. I think it's probably exciting for him to still have big celebrities supporting him, backing him, coming to his stuff. So if Lil Wayne is one of those people and niggas still love Lil Wayne, why wouldn't he if he was interested to come and perform at the grand opening of the Trump Room. Oh, God. You know what I'm saying? And they got Nikki. They might just make it. A Young Money presents.
A
So all them white people sitting there pretending that they know the music, pretending
B
like they don't hate these niggas going, doing that the whole time.
A
White people love that.
B
Raising the roof. Like, girl, sit your.
A
Oh, Christ, please. No, no, no. The visuals.
B
Cardi B has referred to herself as the. The of hip hop's Britney Spear, I think is what she said.
A
Did you see this? No, I saw. I thought you was gonna talk about that new commercial she did. It was too cute.
B
That commercial was really funny.
A
It was hilarious. But I did not see hip hop Britney Spears. Let me look that up.
B
Yeah, she was. I think the comparison is just the fact that she's nonstop talked about everything she do, good or bad, is a headline. And I think it's. I think this comment is coming from her. The rumors, gossip around her. And this Maduke guy, is that his name? The German, Nigerian model? The thief? No, I think he's a driver.
A
A soccer player or something. Yeah. Oh, no, maybe a race car driver. He does something. Some kind of sport over there in England, I think.
B
Oh, he fully plays football. Soccer.
A
Oh, yeah.
B
Which makes more sense. World Cup. Yeah.
A
Yeah.
B
Maduka, he's fine, but I think domestic
A
assault allegations or something.
B
Girl, look at him.
A
Too fine to be a good person.
B
Absolutely. 1,000% not.
A
There's no way that man is a good person.
B
Also, we lived in Harlem, man. Like, with all due respect, I'm not gagging. Fine. Yes, but, yeah, but I. One of a kind. Hell no.
A
No, I wouldn't say that. But he is cute. And I saw the pictures of them together and, you know, so of course the discourse is gonna be, is Cardi, is this her new nigga? Or whatever.
B
But like, yeah, I never took seriously, literally at events together. That was kind of it. But, you know, the streets are like, oh, they look cute. Oh, they flirting. Oh, what does Stephan think of this? How is Offset gonna waste all his money? And so I think that was the reference of, like, being Britney Spears. Cause she's got you. She would always be in the news, good or bad, regardless of. Of what she did.
A
That's true, that's true.
B
Because I can't pull another comparison to Britney Spears with what she's talking about.
A
Well, that makes sense. And you know, go listen to piece of me, Cardi.
B
That.
A
I think that Britney song probably would really speak to you. That song about, you know, lifestyles of the rich and famous. You want a piece of me I'm missing. Oh, my God, that Britney. Shameless.
B
You can also listen to. She's so lucky she's a star. But she crying. Yeah, actually, for sure. You need a Britney playlist.
A
I'm actually not even really mad at the comparison because it's true. Everything Cardi does does get talked about, good or bad. But I think that's less to do with Britney and more to do with being extremely famous and extremely popular. That's what I'm saying, you know, right now. So. But I get it. I get it. You know, she Loves Brittany. She has a lot of respect for Britney and she probably feels like she can really relate to her now in a way that most people can never.
B
She was in a car going somewhere when she posted this video and her titties were high. I just like, I could barely pay attention to what she was talking about because those titties were in the sky.
A
Yeah.
B
Breasts.
A
Yep. They are always perched.
B
I still hope you on this and sent it back to Germany.
A
So yeah, you that please, please at least Google this one. But girl, no, no, no, we can't let that. Yeah, we can't let that go no further than the World Cup. That's gotta be.
B
Oh, we're not keeping that.
A
We can't be keeping that, sister.
B
Okay? You can bring the world to these cups. Like psychotic. No sense. Like never takes anything seriously. What is his problem? Okay, that's it. That's all I've got. Okay, yeah. Drake wasting money. Chaka Khan's perfect issu. Let me send you this fucking song.
A
Oh, yes.
B
You might cry. It's. It's gorgeous. Even before I knew what she was talking about, I was crying.
A
Oh, wow.
B
It's a beautiful song.
A
Okay, I'm gonna check it out.
B
Yeah, that's it for the hot tops this week. Hope you enjoyed it. We're gonna take a break and then listen to your mess. Hey y'.
A
All.
B

A
Indeed it is. Send your questions to asktheread gmail.com. we may read them aloud on the show. We do have a couple of updates this week.
B
Update indeed.
A
Don't we all? The first one comes from Mary, who wrote us a couple of weeks ago about her friend who. Oh, you just sent me the es salt thing. Mary, who sent us the letter about her friend who is having issues with money but also not trying to act like he has issues with money, but they're catching an attitude and all this. Okay.
B
Being stag.
A
Yes. So Mary said, let me tell y' all something. When I heard my letter being read out loud, I screamed in my room and my mama thought something was wrong with me. I just couldn't believe it. I wanted to say thank you because the two of you gave me some of the best advice and you absolutely clocked Brian's behavior the day after we got back from the burger spot. I immediately texted him and told him I noticed you were in a bad mood the entire day, just like y' all predicted. He immediately doubled down like a coward instead of taking accountability and said that his excuse was he didn't get enough sleep. The moment I read that message, baby, I knew this friendship wasn't going to work. Moving forward, I have put Brian on ice and I am not speaking to him anymore. Honestly. Good riddance. Also, P.S. he did end up having to pay for them two orders of fries. Thank you both again for the advice. It helped me see the situation for what it was and reminded me of the kind of Friendships I want to invest in. Much love, Mary.
B
Good for you. Sucks for him.
A
Yes, indeed. And we have an update as well from Uma. If you'll remember. Uma wrote us, I think, last week, about her stepdad and him being weird about opening the door.
B
Yeah.
A
So Uma said. Hey, y', all, first of all, I did not expect you to read my letter. So this was such a surprise. Number two, not the chat telling me I'm spoiled, childish, entitled, and looking for daddy treatment because I'm not trying to be on the porch late at night unlocking both the screen and front door when there's somebody awake and nearby to help me out real quick. Didn't expect that. But fine. Consider me red. Right. So now I'm like, where's the chat?
B
Oh, no, right.
A
Was that your group? Your group chat direct? You like that? I don't know. I don't know.
B
Oh, maybe.
A
Or maybe she's reading the comments online somewhere.
B
But that was my first.
A
Yeah, the two of you were correct. There is a mile long laundry list of reasons why I cannot stand this man. And that is truly where the majority of my frustration stems. At the same time, the letter was about me needing advice while trying to navigate my mental health journey. Despite my deliberate lack of support, in hindsight, I recognized that I could have and should have worded it that way or even vented about it as a read. My fault. That's on me. However, I did get an answer to my question, should I be offended by him not opening the door and ignoring my text? Again, I appreciate. I appreciate you for confirming that this is a lack of consideration for my safety. And with that, I have been moving accordingly. However, I made the decision to go on my off days. Oh, must be going to the gym for the remainder of the month so I wouldn't be coming in so late after work. So they. I think this person is also, yes, rescheduling their move by a few more weeks and says. My mother keeps saying she's gonna miss me the closer I get to being away from this place for good. It. But if anything, she's gonna miss having somebody else to tackle that hefty hump of housework left behind by that man of hers. I won't get too much into it, but Kip here, you were spot on by saying that this situation was the last straw. Thank you so much for your unbiased opinions. Even you listeners who dragged me to hell. Oh, so it was listeners. Damn Yuma Uma girl never read the comments. I'm sorry. Sorry. That happened to you. Never, ever read the comments. But yeah, it also sounds like you kind of got. Yeah, you got a little bit of what you were looking for out of it. So glad to hear that. And hopefully these next few weeks with your mom and stepdad go smoothly and then you can be out and that man no longer be your problem. Oh, right. Indeed. So our. Our first letter this week comes from Web Ducar, who says, Dear Kimber and Crystal, I'm the oldest of three siblings. I'm 37. My sister's 35. And then there's our 16 year old baby brother, who we'll call Colin. I jokingly call Colin and Oreo. Not because of how he acts.
B
Oh, hell.
A
But because he was raised in a completely different era than me and my sister. The parents who raised us are not the same parents raising him. They have gotten soft over the years. One day they do that. Baby. Don't get me started on Adam.
B
Don't you listen? I feel like you did this last week.
A
Don't get me started.
B
Anyway, yeah, they get different ones.
A
Yes, me and my sister are super pro black, all black, everything blackity black. And Colin is not that way at all. One day I took him to a water park and he asked if I could pick up a girl that he liked on the way. This girl happens to be white. Here's where everything went. Left. The only thing I listen to in my car is podcast. I've been listening to the read since day one, episode one. Nobody could say nothing bad about Kiff. You're a Chris around me because they know I'm a defend y' all every single time. So we were riding in the car and by pure coincidence, the episode playing is the one where y' all dragged that white woman who called the police on the black woman in la and then LAPD turned around and shot her daughter. By this time, the girl was in my. Oh, by the time this girl got in my backseat, y' all were reading
B
that woman for him.
A
I immediately started sweating and I texted my group chat and said, y', all, I got Colin and his little white crush in the car and I'm listening to the read. They dragging this white woman so bad and I don't know if I should cut it off.
B
You should have turned it up.
A
Every single one of my friends said, no, let it ride.
B
I mean, oh, I let it ride. Come on now.
A
I wasn't laughing out loud cause I didn't want to make things any more awkward. But on the inside, I was fighting for my life at the end of the day, this young lady decided she would rather have somebody else come pick her up instead of riding home with us. And Colin was pissed. He blamed me and said I should have turned the podcast off because I made everything awkward and ruined his chances with that girl. Part of me does feel bad because he's 16 and I unintentionally sabotage whatever little situationship he thought he had. The other part of me feels like, okay, welcome to America. Colin grew up in the suburbs, and he has been shielded from a lot of the realities that we have experienced as black people. I don't think one episode of the Recreated Discomfort. I think it simply exposed him, and maybe even this little girl to conversations that black people have every day.
B
Right.
A
My questions are these. Do I owe Colin an apology for not turning the podcast off, or do I explain to him that conversations about race and the experiences of black people aren't something we should feel obligated to silence just because white people are around? I'm not saying all white people are the same, but I do think it's important that he understands the world he's living in as a young black man and doesn't become so comfortable that he mistakes comfort for reality. I'd love to hear what y' all think, because this is somehow all of my fault, and I genuinely don't know if I handled it wrong. Love you. Thank you for the years of laughter, wisdom, mess, and therapy sessions disguised as a podcast. Sincerely, Web Dakar.
B
Ciao.
A
I love this.
B
Yeah, I think this is fantastic. Do I think you were wrong for not. Not for, like, not turning the podcast off? In what world?
A
Of course not. Of course not.
B
A podcast about every Anything. I don't even give a that. It's our podcast. It's your car.
A
Right? Right.
B
Where you listen to podcasts and they need you. Right. For transportation.
A
Exactly.
B
So if you chose not to play trim and instead play the shit that came on in the car. Tough titties. That's one. Two. If you really want to go, like, power to the people, I say, babycakes, you can feel as disconnected from this as you'd like to. You're still a black boy. These are things to think about. You might not want to discuss them, talk about them, joke about them the way that these people do or the way that I do. Everyone's different. But these are still conversations that matter, and they're still talking about things that in many ways, many ways, are connected to you or involve you as a. As a black person. And the last thing I would say is, if this little white girl can't listen to this and keep her shit together, have an open discussion or laugh, understand, like, if she gets uncomfortable by these two niggas we have not met talking about white fuckery, she's probably not somebody who should be in your black life.
A
Right, right.
B
That's. So that's what I would have.
A
Yeah. Your brother sounds like the type to think, oh, well, you know, you guys, that race stuff, Obama healed all that, and now it's only a problem if you want to act racist. But as long as. As you individually don't act racist, then there's no issue in the world.
B
Like, they got another thing coming.
A
Yeah, your brother sounds, you know, young and shielded from the realities of life. In that way, parents probably older and don't have the energy to be as militant as they once were and all these things kind of converging to. To make this one awkward situation. Obviously, I don't think you should have cut the read off. 16 is old enough to hear what the fuck we have to say. Now. If you was taking first grader somewhere. Yeah. You know, to put on Ms. Rachel or whatever. But no, 16 is old enough to hear it. And yeah, I think I agree with everything that kid Fury said. I if. If things fell apart and now this girl don't want to talk to him no more because his brother listens to a podcast where we were rightfully dragging some racist who called the police and. And got somebody's dog shot. Like, we weren't even wrong for that. It would be different if we were.
B
It wasn't even something silly.
A
Right. We talking about, I would think a dog died. A white woman would be, you know, a little bit more sensitive. Right.
B
White people don't give a fuck about dogs like they used to.
A
They really don't. What happened?
B
Girl, they used to not play. Remember when Jimmy Kimmel. Yeah, yeah. Remember when Jimmy Kimmel got on tv, started crying about that dead lion?
A
I bought that lion. Yep. I do remember that. That man cried real tears.
B
So, so sad.
A
I guess y' all didn't pass that along to y'. All. New generation of whites, they don't feel the same way. But yeah, if. If a few minutes of us cussing out somebody who absolutely deserved it was enough for them to not date, then Colin, Colin. It sounds like Colin really needs a reminder that he is black. And so I don't care if you like these little white girls. These little white girls have to y'.
B
All.
A
It's not just some innocent little puppy love Type thing like, yes, y' all can have that. Y' all are teenagers and I get it. But there are real world implications with regard to race. And if you cannot even hear what we have to say, there's no way that that relationship either y' all relationship is not gonna work out because eventually she's gonna say or do something that pisses you off. You Colin, or Colin is gonna become a coon. Like levels rarely before seen. Okay, he finna be Clarence Thomas levels of cooning out here. He finna be Tom Dubois or even it's gonna be bad. So yeah, Colin. Colin got an early lesson in trying to date interracially. And if he don't want to hear it through this rather tame interaction with his brother and listen to a podcast, don't worry. Keep dating these white girls and see if you don't hear it another way. It's you gonna be reminded over and over again if you continue to date white girls, which is your right, you are going to be reminded over and over that a lot of people have not even issues with interracial dating, although I'm sure they do, but that your race will be part of the conversation even when you don't want it to be or think it shouldn't be so.
B
Exactly. And them white girls be the ones who try to get into niggas heads and convince them that they're so much easier and better and calmer.
A
Oh yeah, it'd be a lot of
B
that versus, you know, black women that talk about them and stand in the
A
front of the line. Yeah. Or that my dad always has a shotgun by the door, babe. Okay, and he won't with me. Like, what are you talking about? Like, it's what. It's a level of I simply won't be dealing with. And you got it or not. But yeah, no, you, you were not wrong at all. I could not have laughed harder than when I first saw this email. I thought it was delightful.
B
So yeah, same. Keep up the green, the Lord's work. I gu.
A
Indeed, indeed.
B
You might have saved that young man's life.
A
So good luck to you, Web. Our next letter comes from somebody who says you can call me an auntie of a liar. All right?
B
Please.
A
I have a 17 year old niece who I know for a fact is lying about graduating from high school.
B
What?
A
Her mom never finished high school. And my brother, her dad, is not super involved in her schoolwork because he lives across the country. In the middle of her junior year, we found out she only had nine credits when she should have had 15, which made her technically a sophomore. We asked her what the plan was to get back on track and she said that she could take multiple classes at the community college, which would allow her to catch up. Sounds good, right? No. This little liar never enrolled. So now it's the middle of her senior year and everyone is wondering about her graduation, but she's being so vague and distant about it. It. My mom reached out multiple times to ask her about school and her little disrespectful ass just ignored her. My dad's job allows him and his co workers access to the counselors at the school who check in on the students progress. So we asked one of his co workers to find out about my niece. The coworker told us that this little girl has 13 out of the necessary 24 credits and the only class she's currently enrolled in is Art Heart. So that means her lion ass never got into the classes she told everybody she was gonna get in. And her lying ass knows she's she ain't graduating. But we kept this information from my brother because we didn't want to get my dad's co worker in trouble. Graduation week rolled around. My brother called my niece to ask about the date directly because she hadn't sent out any invites or anything that a normal graduate would do. She blocked my brother. He added her on tick tock and she blocked him there too. There's a lot of quotes or a lot of uppercases, a lot of explanation points.
B
Yeah, you gotta. You gotta highlight that.
A
My mom called my niece's mom who said, yes, she's graduating. I bought all her stuff, but she's finishing at another school. Mind you, this is a school that she has never gone to and was never enrolled in. But my sister still looked up the graduation date for that school and the graduation already happened three days prior. I don't know if my niece's mom really just doesn't know how this works because she also didn't graduate high school or if she's just a liar too. But my question is, how do we get our lying ass niece to tell the truth to her parents that she is not going to receive a diploma? Do we tell her we know she's a liar? Do we let her get away with not graduating? She's distanced herself from our side of the family for trying to support her ass and it is so heartbreaking. What would y' all do? Help us with our out of control teenager, please. Thank you. And I've loved the show since 2017. Signed an auntie of a liar.
B
You know, shout out to this auntie for really caring.
A
Okay.
B
I. What would you do in this situation? I think I would go to her and be like. Like, so I finished high school a long, long time ago. So do you think you're smarter than me? Like, do you. What do you think is. This is. Yeah.
A
Yeah.
B
I don't know if I would snitch. I'm really fascinated that she could even do this.
A
Right.
B
How the fuck do you fake graduating from high school? That's probably why she's like, I don't know if this bitch don't know. Cause she didn't graduate, or she's also a liar.
A
Yeah. And honestly, the mama probably don't know because she also didn't graduate. Like, I'm guessing it's a former. And it sounds like she's a single mom, probably very busy person who has a lot going on. And so this. Your niece has kind of slipped through the cracks, I guess, so to speak in this way. But, yeah, that's hilarious. To approach your niece and be like, now, Eddie did finish high school back in 2000, however, so sweet. I finished high school. I finished high school and undergrad and grad school. I've had a lot of graduations, and I know good and damn well how they work now.
B
So what's your plan?
A
So what you gonna do? Right?
B
Because you and I both know this is bullshit.
A
Yeah. I just don't. With all due respect, auntie. With all due respect, because I'm an auntie. I get it.
B
Yeah.
A
If my 7. If my nephew was 17 and was, you know, let's just say was in a similar situation, I think that my concern would be why she fell off so hard in high school, as opposed to the lying she's doing around graduation.
B
Like, 1000%.
A
The lying is a symptom. I want to see what's really going on underneath. Like, how did you make it to junior year and only had nine credits done? How is it that. I mean, your dad's. You said her dad. Your brother is not super involved because he lives across the country, but these kids, they don't pass out physical report cards no more. Everybody can log in to the school. Blackboard, whiteboard, whatever, canvas, whatever the hell system they use starts to be, y' all right. Truly hate that for y'. All. Cause back in the 1900s, you could really finesse.
B
But, baby, baby. But even then, one time, I tried to finesse a progress report, and my mama came in there like, so. So are you calling Me a bitch? Are you saying that I'm fucking stupid? Like, what are you trying to say with this? Because, girl, we all know you don't
A
have an A in calculus and quit playing with me.
B
Yeah, I got cleared one time.
A
Yeah. I mean, yeah. Yeah.
B
I think you're completely right though. In the. At the center of it. Especially someone who, you know, fell off in high school and knowing why. I think my first thing would be. Okay, first of all, girl, you ain't slick, so let's cut the shit. What's going on?
A
Yeah, please don't lie to me. Cause I know you not graduating, right? I'm not even. I'm trying to help. I'm legit trying to figure out what's going on. Although this, it sounds like, Like I said, it sounds like she has been not having her needs fully attended to for a while now. It sounds like she has pretty much been left to her own devices when it comes to school. And that is a dangerous combination because teenagers already don't want to do shit. So you really do have to be on they ass to ensure that they do the things they supposed to do. Because if you leave it up to them, most of the time they not gonna do it. So I. I think I would do
B
kid like my middle brother, because he was just naturally like one of them young children. I immediately do my homework so that I could do whatever like there, you
A
know, every now and then you get one of those. Me, I'm coming home. I'm getting on that aol. I'm getting on my phone.
B
Completely. Completely. I've been at school all day. I gotta do school right now.
A
And then once my parents come home. Now I'm sitting at the kitchen table with my textbooks acting like I really give a shit about this.
B
But I was there the whole day in the hours. Yeah, I was sitting at the. I was doing my homework all the time.
A
Oh, it's a really hard one. Oh, I'm writing a paper.
B
Yeah, I've just been double checking my answers.
A
Yeah. But as far as like, do we let her get away with not graduating? That's a strange question, right? Cause it's not. She doesn't need your permission to not graduate.
B
Right.
A
I think I would be more concerned about catching up, catching her up on her education. I'm gonna enroll you in GED programs or whatever. Cause you've probably missed a lot. Lot you made it to. And what is this no Child Left Behind? That you can make it all the way to senior year and not even have half the Credits you need to graduate. Like, yeah, I don't know what. I don't. I don't get this. But I would be more concerned with supplementing what she has been missing and maybe taking a bigger role in that. I can see why you wouldn't have before, because you not her mama or her daddy, and. And probably nobody asked you to, but now that she's finna be grown, I would be like, okay, so, you know, Auntie Finna sit down and be extremely real with you about, like, how shit works. And you see this economy out here. The kids See the economy. The kids live through Covid. They know how fucked up and terrible the world is. You see, eggs is $10 for a dozen. Like, it's gonna be hard out here with a high school education, with a GP D. You know, much harder it's gonna be without one. So let Annie help you now while you still young. And it's not like something that is gonna hold you back or be strange, but, like, let me help you now to get you in a place where you can have at least a basic education. You can have this piece of paper that says you completed this so we can at least get you, you know, to that level, because life is going to be so much harder without that piece of paper for the majority of. Of us. So. Yeah, I just think that you thought
B
making all this shit up was tricky,
A
and clearly you could be very good at some things. You're a very crafty little liar. You got your. You pulled a Cheyenne Bryant and had your mama buying graduation robes off Amazon. And, like, you think you slick, but
B
you might need to be a fixer or whatever Olivia Pope's job was.
A
Right. You know, let's look into jobs where you can be kind of scammy. You want to be a lawyer?
B
Yeah.
A
You laugh so. Well, I think a lawyer is probably right up your alley. You know, I wouldn't say that to a child, but basically just focusing more on the why instead of the what it is, because she probably already feels a great deal of shame about not graduating. That's why she's not telling y' all the truth. Truth.
B
Yeah. And I would want to know what's going on in the school, because high school is so. It's very, very slippery for the average high school student. I can only imagine how much more intense it is now.
A
Oh, with the phones and the social media and the. Everybody is constantly connected. Right. It was bad enough in the 1900s, but at least then you could just leave school and go home and.
B
Yeah.
A
For the most part be done with it. You know, it wasn't a whole group of niggas waiting for you on AOL or whatever when you got home to drag you for whatever happened that day at school.
B
So plus, we were in an era. It was like, aol, all that Internet shit is not a job. And we, like, for those of us who believed it was or saw it as an opportunity to expand, we had to believe in ourself, bitch. We didn't have all got the kids now had streamers, tick tock stars. I can only imagine what it's like now. Influencers tell. Yeah, to tell young kids like, oh, you know, learn medicine or whatever. Like, suck my dick, boy. Max has $5 billion literally being gay or whatever. That's DDG.
A
So I've seen so many people make millions off of being an influencer. Like, yes, but think about how many more people are trying to be influencers and don't like the people you're thinking about, the people you can name. That's not the majority of people who are trying to do that. You looking at niggas at the highest end of shit and thinking, oh, I can do that too. Sure you can. But most people do not have the numbers, the audience, the. The content. Hashtag, content, all of that for it to be a real. So you know, a thing that can really carry you through. So again, I'm gonna try to get you into your. I'm gonna do whatever I can to help catch you up on your education, get your ged or help you finish high school, whichever one is the most feasible. Because it sounds like your niece, more than anything, has been missing out on some support that she really needed and deserved. So. Oh, and I think, yeah, I think that's it for me.
B
And she's a crafty one.
A

So you eating pussy now and you're feeling your beat and I'm gonna have to tell you to calm down like you were just a street red ho. And so now because you hopped from Damon's dick to his niece, baby mama, wife, great bisexual power, live for for you and your sexual identity. Calm your bitch ass down. Messaria Bondi don't nobody give a fuck about what you're talking about. And you just got here. So stop going around people with this little smug ass. Look like you have all the information and you finna tell your your you gonna go tell the carpet you much no one cares. Nobody cares. And you starting to get on my damn nerves. You talk a little bit too much. You feeling your shit. That lady ain't thinking about you. And that's when Allison cleared you. And you know she was right. So you might as well go ahead and take that advice, bitch. Cause that lady was looking for box and she got it. Okay? Now her uncle baby father husband is back, bitch. And you feeling like what? Grand? You better sit your ass down somewhere, actor. You got some goddamn sense. Cause I'm over it. White worm. Miss Wormy. Madame Worm. Secondly, this goes out to Sir Cristian Cole. So I've been told you that you were a flop and you refuse to believe me. You're a flop. You're a child from the fight. The time that she was trying to fuck on the princess and said fuck on her best friend out of spite. Now both of their asses left you. They don't even know where to fuck your ass at. Or care. Or care. So you felt like what if I have to flop, I'm gonna make all of these people underneath me flop too. Get covered in leeches and die of starvation and shit. Only to get what? What stuck? We don't even know where we going. Everybody we after is 10 steps ahead of us. I'm going to die out here as a flop ass bitch. And because I'm so bitter and lame and late and upset, I'm Going to make all you suffer, too. You're a chop. And I can't wait for you to be gone. Can't wait for you to be gone. Not to. Not only because I hate you, but because you have not done anything interesting in this season of the show at all. Nothing. Unless people find sulking and being a bum interesting. You suck. I've been hated your ass. And I'm so glad to see you suffering. I truly, truly am. You're a chop. And you're absolutely the most simp. Ass. Loser. Ass. Bitter ass. Incel In. In like a fantasy program right now. Is there anybody else that's been pissing me off in House of the Dragon? Let me think.
A
Allison.
B
No. Allison has actually been t this season. Like the dolphins has been teeth this season. She looked at Messara's face and was like, okay, so you're feeling it, right? You're gonna go tell the queen what's going on. What if I told you, bitch, that that lady barely care about you? So what, you feel like you eating her pussy now? And. And, hey, y' all married? She's the queen, and she's feeling cute right now. But she has absolutely no idea what this position costs, what it's gonna take to maintain it, and how things are gonna bounce around, mostly bouncing towards bad. You feeling real comfortable? Because it's what, day three? That this lady is going to have to make incredibly difficult decisions, and one of them is probably gonna be throwing your ass out to the wolves.
A
Yeah.
B
And you know I'm right. Yeah, you know I'm right. Because I've been the queen, and I've been her best friend since we was, like, five. You just got here. So you coming in here with your little smirk like you. You feeling what? Feeling what? Even if you do go tell this bitch my tea. What, you think that she's gonna pick you over me? She could have been. Killed me, beat my ass, took my daughter or whatever. She gave us an apartment.
A
Oh, damn.
B
I mean, we're a prisoner. But if I remember.
A
Minor quibble.
B
We're prisoners. But if I remember correctly, your ass was a prisoner, too. So are we done here? Alison has been queering these bitches, girl. I had to make a gift when Renaer came in there and said, where's my garbage? And Allison looked behind her back and came like, gold, bitch. Who are you? You can't be talking to me. I don't know where fuck her gold is, bitch. Allison has been clearing it, okay? Armand Hightower keeping my eyes on you. I don't Know. And Aegon.
A
Oh yeah, Aegon, his face.
B
Sweetie, you might as well calm down. You might as well calm down. You weren't a great king in the first place. Now you look like this new Clayface trailer bitch. You look like a raisin. You look like. You look like the bunch of crunch at the bottom of the bag. Oh no, that's like, oh, they left a little. You look horrible, you're bitter, you're pissed. And I actually love the fact that. Oh God, I can't remember his name. The guy who was. Who's taking Aegon around the place trying to keep him alive when Aegon was sitting there bitching about his brother Aemond and how like, oh, everyone loves him so much. And mom, he was mom's favorite. And I'm going to kill him because he took everything for me. Mind you, this is back to back with a scene where Aemond is doing the exact same thing. Aegon. Aegon was mom's favorite and I worshiped him. And he was terrible to me. I'm like, look at, look at these two terrible bitch made ass little white boys just torn up and scarred and jaded and blamed me. The next one was like both of you were doomed from the start because you're terrible men born from terrible people. That man told that nigga egg on girl. You've had every advantage and privilege in your life. In your life. It doesn't matter if a brother, sister, cousin, whatever, had more of an advantage to a throne or something than you did. You live not far away from people who are catching rats eating rats begging for bread. And you want me to do what? Cry for you, Argentine? You better get the fuck up and get over it. You look a mess. Don't nobody care about you. And it's a new queen in town anyway. Ho. So I don't know why the fuck you still crying so you can get that as well. You're still feeling your beat. And you lucky that this little white man is there with you because you would have been there did. And those are all the people I'm dragging for House of the Dragon this week. I might see you guys back next week if somebody pisses me off again. But it's House of the Dragon, so I'm sure someone will. But I'm also wrapping up Polygamous. I got like three episodes left and I. Wow. Wow, what a show. Wow, what a show.
A
Is that the one on net? Netflix?
B
Yeah, the South African soap opera.
A
Oh, oh, right, we talked about that. Oh, you have three episodes left. Oh, is.
B
Is Terrible in, like. I don't. It's terrible in, like, how. Who are these people? It's. It's really good. I find it to be compelling.
A
Okay.
B
But it's a soap opera, so it's like, what? It's so.
A
It's ridiculous.
B
Twists and turns and ridiculousness and drama and it's fun, though. It's really fun. And I'm watching it in Zulu, so I also get to hear this beautiful language at the same time that madness is occurring. The acting is really good, the people are beautiful. But, yeah, it's. It's got a wild ride of a story. And when niggas on thread suggested it, I was like, why won't y' all leave us alone with these? Like, you want us to watch these things and hate it and then talk about, how does she get on the boat? I said, you know what?
A
No, but it's a good question.
B
It's a fantastic. I. I sat for maybe like an hour the other day, like, how the fuck. How does she get back on that goddamn.
A
Oh, man. It's a good question. It's a good question.
B
This show is actually pretty interesting. Compelling, and I, I. It's addictive. It's so. It's so ridiculous, I can't stop watching. So once that is over, I will have reads for. For the Internet.
A
Okay? And I tell the girls, can't wait,
B
girl. I got, like, episode three. I was like, this should be the season two premiere of a. Of a show. Like, normally we would have. Damn this. It's three episodes of a 22 episode season. By the time I got halfway through, I was like, like, what else? What more could there be?
A
One more. Oh, my God. Now I want to look at it.
B
I say, check it out. Watch the first couple episodes, see if you lock in. I'm surprised how much I like her.
A
We'll see. I'll go pick up Laney from school and we'll look at it, see if she's into it.
B
But I feel like Lainey will be like, girl, I'm a wearer snack.
A
And then what? Yeah, she does love mess. She does.
B
So that's it for me.
A
Oh, okay. So I have two quick things this week, but first, I'm going to start by passing my read. Now, this came into the inbox from somebody who calls herself the Angry Cat Lady. And she said, hello, Crystal and Kid Fury. This is for that cat owner boyfriend from the listener letters a couple of weeks ago.
B
Why was I gonna say this? I literally just thought of that letter.
A
Well, she said, look, I know you two are not cat people and so don't you all worry I will step in to drag this man where y' all were being too kind.
B
Okay, go for it.
A
That boyfriend is absolutely filthy, disgusting and nasty. Nasty. And I question whether he has the capacity to even wipe his ass adequately. I know grief factored into his decision to get those cats and I do want to extend some grace in that. I have no idea what his present emotional state is. And of course grief is not linear. But. But not getting two cats neutered to the point where they piss all over his residence is straight negligence. Especially since money was not a fact. That factor I want to dispel the falsehood that cats are easy and take care of themselves. Do I need to take them out to use the bathroom at 3am? No, but they are animal companions who require a substantial amount of care, not limited to fresh food and water, annual vet visits, vaccines, daily playtime, and most importantly, spaying and neutering so that they do not irresponsibly reproduce on the chance that they sneaky ass slip past you at the door and goes out to impregnate some street cat. So not neutering the cats alone was a problem in itself, but to find out that the cats piss all over his place of residence on a regular basis. And for some odd reason it is not on this man's to do list to remediate this issue expeditiously. What do you mean you've gone nose blind to cat piss? Made this olfactory nerve Never find me.
B
That is insane.
A
Aside from the fact that this is absolutely filthy, he has created two cats who nobody else will ever want to adopt. Dropped.
B
Damn.
A
I have a cat who pisses outside the litter box when he's stressed. And I have made several adjustments to our home to minimize that stress. Including telling my kids to leave that anxious ass cat alone. Not only does cat piss absolutely reek and it's impossible to entirely get out of the carpet.
B
Horrible.
A
But you can't even use bleach to clean it without running the risk of dying from mustard gas. I didn't know you couldn't mix police with cat. Cat pissed. Yikes.
B
I did not know that either.
A
Do I debate whether my cat would do better in a childfree home? Absolutely. But will I ever get rid of him? No. Because who the wants to adopt a cat who makes your house stink like a meth lab? Nobody. I do not trust this irresponsible man to invest the time, resources and money into training these cats to use the litter box in the event that he ever gets them neutered. Evidence of his past behavior indicates that he does not have the wherewithal to execute the labor that is necessary. Now, I know y' all told this woman that she should break up with that stank ass man, but I would like to reiterate it again here, listeners and friends, we have zero business entertaining a man who is comfortable sitting at home in a home that reeks of cat urine, let alone his inability to provide adequate care to the cat. This seemed like the type to drown a goldfish. And you have zero business going down with that.
B
She hates time.
A
Break up with that nose blind loser today and go get a breath of fresh air. Warmly, the angry cat lady.
B
She tor no notes.
A
She said, I know you are dog. So although y' all was more disgusted from, like, a point of view, I'mma come at it as somebody with a cat. This is disgusting.
B
That's me. That's it is.
A
I didn't know you couldn't clean. They piss with bleach. What?
B
I did not know that either.
A
Oh, no. That changes the game for me.
B
Like, sincerely.
A
Cause bleach is every black person's favorite cleaning product.
B
Hello. And the power of Pine Sol.
A
But, I mean, we stay with some Clorox in this house. Everybody got a bleach or bleach product somewhere. What you mean I can't spray that on the hardwood? What, you mean they. They ruined the carpet so bad that you got to pick a house that don't have carpet in it because you'll never get it clean? Oh, my God.
B
No, no, no, no. Thanks.
A
Shout out to you for writing in to let us know that we did not go far enough.
B
Yeah. I mean, she's right.
A
She is right. I mean, I.
B
In terms of, like, the. The protection of the cat outside of just the. The person who read the letter, like, she hit on amazing points just in terms of their health. But even, like, when he lets go of these cats because it doesn't sound like he is that invested in them as animals and companions to have in the house as, you know, life is hard for him emotionally.
A
Yeah.
B
They are still living creatures that need a certain amount of care and attention and exercise and all the other things just because they're not as reliant on us as dogs might be. Yeah. You still have to take care of them.
A
Right.
B
And outside of the fact that your house smells like hot D, like, if you do give these cats up to someone else, like, they're going to have a hell of a lot of training to do with these animals. Right. Or they just. Yeah, might not adopt at all.
A
All. Yeah.
B
And that's not fair. So, yeah, I think she tore. Thanks, angry cat lady. You are completely right. Save the cats too.
A
Indeed you are. Thank you for writing in and sending that to us. If you have a read that you would like to pass, you can type that up and send it over to passtheread gmail.com Before I leave, I do want to have. I just want to speak very quickly on one other thing. The light skinned twins are back at it. Amanda Seals and Cheyenne Bryant. It's like as soon as the Internet is done dragging them, it's like they beg for it to come back. So you know, there's a trend right now going around on Tick Tock of people being like, they go sit down on a chair and they're like, Netflix, when they asked me to do a documentary about like being a dog mom or whatever. So yeah, she did one of her putting on doctoral regalia. And the caption is like me when Netflix wants to do a documentary on Cheyenne Bryant and whether she's really a doctor or has a real degree. And so she's putting on this robe and adjusting the hood and putting on the cap and all this. And it took the Internet about three minutes to find this exact same getup on Amazon. And I mean, the exact same get up. That is brutal. The exact same get up. You can see all of her honorary degrees in the background. So it's like this isn't, this isn't proving anything. You didn't post this with a link to your dissertation. Like we. This is the same shit as always. It's just you deciding to make yourself part of the conversation again. It's almost like you, you just need people to talk about you, whether it's positive or negative. You just want to be in people's mouths. And I have to, I mean, and I have to assume the same thing about Amanda Seals because when the news came out about the Insecure tour reunion extravaganza that they have going on, for whatever reason, she also decided to partake in this Netflix documentary thing and did a video of like when Netflix calls to do a documentary on Tiffany and you know, she's like, it's fine, it's fine, it's fine, it's fine. Which, you know, whatever. And then she puts in the caption about how she wasn't invited, but you know, she still part of the show. And these are her feelings, which on the one hand you are Allowed to have your feelings about being left out. I mean, because it is Issa of the characters anyway. It's Issa, Molly, Lawrence. Lawrence and Kelly. So you are the only one of, like, that main cast who isn't included. Right. On the other hand. So, yes, you're allowed to have your feelings. However, you cannot convince me, number one, that Amanda Seals actually wanted to be a part of this or wanted to go. She very much gives, like, I just want to be invited, even if I'm going to say no. Know, but true. The bigger issue here that I think a lot of people are skipping over or not wanting to acknowledge is that when you don't have to work with somebody you don't like, you don't do that. It has been clear since probably 2019, 2020 for sure, since the end of Insecure that. That the cast, most of the cast, did not really like Amanda Seals as a person. And perhaps that feeling was mutual. I don't know. But we've known about this for years. The idea that she should just be invited anyway because she was one of the characters on the show is quite ridiculous because again, most people don't work with somebody they don't like unless they stuck between a rock and a hard place. They don't have to invite this girl on the tour, therefore, they're not doing. They don't like her, they don't want to be around her. Yeah, this is what happens when people don't like you. They don't invite you places you're not included in things. Like what. What are we even talking about? I mean, how are we having a debate about whether she should be there? Like, this is whether you think she should or shouldn't. You can debate that all day long, but. But you think I don't understand not inviting a bitch. You don't like to come tour with you. I overly understand it. This makes all the sense in the world. Like, why would you. Why would you.
B
I was a little speechless when I caught like a corner of this because obviously people were responding to her initial post or whatever. Like, basically what you saying, like, girl, what did you. And don't nobody care, et cetera. And then I saw a clip of her saying something like, instead of asking why Amanda Seales is not on the tour, we should ask why amends weren't made so that she could go on the tour or something like that. And when I watched it, I was like, make amends for what? Like, they don't like you, you don't like them, they don't really need for you to be there for this tour to happen or be a success. Like why would they make amends with somebody they don't that it hasn't gotten any better. If anything the fracture or that's gotten worse. Why would they then be like ah, you know what the streets really need for this tour, Amanda to be there as well. So let's, let's fix whatever that is and make amends. I just don't think it's necessary.
A
Yes, I agree and I know a lot of people are gonna say well it's not the same as like a regular job because this is a huge cultural moment and Tiffany Dubois and all this. You can have all those feelings. Most people if they had the option would not choose to do anything work related or personal related for funsies. They don't do that with people they don't like. Yeah, they are in a position to say hey we don't like you, therefore we're not going to spend time with you. I don't understand why that is so hard for other people to understand. I feel like it's, it makes sense and if you took, you know, whatever these other feelings are out of it then that would be so plain.
B
Like especially because like the reasons that they don't like each other aren't even secret.
A
Yeah, it's been out for years, it's
B
been public back and forth and lots of posts about how she don't like this person and this person. And so it's like it really shouldn't come as a show shock or be confusing or even debatable. It really should because we know damn near every at least public chapters of them.
A
Right. And that takes me back to why would Amanda Seals even open the door to this discourse in the first place? And that's why I said it. Is the light skinned Bobsy twins at it again? I'm not diagnosing either one of them hoes. I don't know them hoes. But. But there are some people in this world who don't care what you saying as long as you talking about them. They don't care if it's good or bad. They don't care if you dragging them. They don't care if they trending for all the wrong reasons for weeks or month. Some people do not care as long as their names are in your mouth. And I do believe that Amanda and Cheyenne are both that type of person
B
because again I definitely believe that about Cheyenne.
A
We have stopped talking about you and it's not even. This isn't something Something, you know, a lot of times Amanda Trends for her opinions on like, political matters or the war and, you know, stuff that actually matters. Right. Stuff that matters. This.
B
Yeah.
A
This.
B
Yeah. This is pretty pointless, right?
A
So it's like, you okay, girl? I guess you just wanted. Maybe you just wanted to see your name on that little trending tab again. Maybe you weren't getting enough hate comments. You weren't getting enough people being rude and dismissive to you or minimizing your feelings or all that. And you just wanted another wave of all that.
B
But I just, I think that you just tapped something that I find interesting as well, which is you. Maybe you wanted at least to be considered, even if you were going to say you didn't want to go.
A
Yes. And I don't. And I don't like people like that. I'm not inviting you just for the hell of it. If I know that you don't like me and I don't like you, why would I invite you just so you can say, why would I do that? That is so.
B
Even if I don't care that you say, no, we don't like each other. So why would I go out of my time or way to just give you an obligatory invitation, right?
A
And she didn't play Molly, girl, like, we can do the tour without Tiffany. High key. Issa could go around by herself talking
B
about legitimately saying that exact same thing. It could have been Issa and maybe Jay.
A
And it really could have been. It really could. And it would have been fine. It could have been Issa and Princess Issa's the only one who's non negotiable. So.
B
Right.
A
I think everybody's just gotta take a step back and rejoin reality and let's just all be so fucking for real right now.
B
And let's honor. I also thought this, this is no shade to the character of Tiffany, but in terms of like an insecure tour and people, you know, like fans getting the fan thing, it's a whole lot of characters from that fucking show. People would probably want to see into her.
A
Oh, yeah. Oh, absolutely. And who won't be there? Who was Lawrence's messy little friend? Messy little name?
B
The light skinned dude?
A
Chad.
B
Amal the blood.
A
Nathan Andrew Condola. I want to see all this.
B
Kendrick Sampson. What's Kendrick Sampson's character name again?
A
Nathan. Nathan.
B
Oh, yeah, yeah, it was Nathan, the
A
nigga that played Daniel. I mean, I, I love the show. You could bring all of this out and I would be into it, but you know, Tiffany Dubois, I would like
B
to see that too, if it wasn't a reality that we were living in, where we know what we know. You not being involved, just making sense, right?
A
It does. I didn't blink twice when they announced who all was gonna be on that tour and didn't see your name because why would I see your name?
B
She didn't even think about it until she said she wasn't.
A
You don't like that lady. You have gone on podcast talking about how you felt like Issa didn't protect you and Issa this, and the vibe was weird, and she was, how could I be a mean girl on a set that's not even my set? Which actually very easily. It's very easy to have a set and piss off other people, girl. What do you mean that's so easy to do?
B
It's really easy. It's really, really easy.
A
So, like, we know that y' all don't fuck with each other. I'm not inviting you just so your ego can feel soothed and you can say, oh, well, no. No, thank you. I mean, even if I thought you were gonna say yes, I'm not inviting you if I don't want you there. You are not wanted around. That's why you're not there.
B
Yeah, I thought the little Netflix Netflix documentary bit was, like, okay, little joke response to the thing. I think so, too. That's cute. But then as it got into a deeper discussion, I was like, amanda, what is the problem here? Y' all don't like each other.
A
Right.
B
It don't even sound like you were, like, dying to be on this tour. You're saying, like, this is what the fans want to see if we're doing it for the fans. I'm like, I don't think most fans are gonna, like, you know what I mean? I don't think they're gonna go to these events and be like, ugh, it just wasn't the same. Yeah, with all due respect.
A
Right. Right.
B
I.
A
If it was just the video and it wasn't her, like, in the comments and encouraging certain stuff and liking certain comments and things like that, then I think it probably would not have grown the way it has. But it just feels very passive aggressive. Like, you join this conversation, you did this trend, and then you're like, no, it's fine. It's fine that I'm not part of the Insecure tour. No, it's fine. It's fine. It's fine. But then you in the comments, making it clear that it's actually not fine, and it's like, but you're not friends with them. I feel like, how can. How are we still stuck on this? You don't like this. If they would have invited you, you would have said no anyway. So, yeah, let's not have Tiffany Dubois on Bad and Busy.
B
Or worse, she might have said yes, and then the tour would have been
A
dropped and everybody, right? And then everybody's irritated, the vibe on stage is stank because everybody got unsolved bullshit from years ago that's never been worked through and probably never will be worked through. And the audience is gagging and on TikTok Live because all they care about is mess. Like, girl, no. No. The answer is no. I don't want to share a stage with you. And I don't have to.
B
I don't have to.
A
I'm inviting the people I like. That's Molly, Kelly, Lawrence Prentice. Like, she's like, I have a list of people that I still with from the show. And it do seem to be everybody but you. And this seems to be something that happens to Amanda Seals frequent.
B
So you would think it's damn near everybody but you. But in reality, Amanda is, like, the one that openly speaks about the stuff. Like, it's a lot of people, cast producers or whatever, who can't stand each other in different productions. But you might not hear about it outside of that because people be trying to protect their jobs, their publicity, their relationships, whatever, whatever. But then you have situations like the situation with Amanda and producers insecure and Issa's people or what have you, where, you know, you hop on the gram or the TikTok, and then you start sharing. Of course, that then becomes an issue where it seems like they can't stand you. But it's like, when you make it a story, right, it's gonna seem that way. Cause ain't nobody else really being. Being like, you know who I can't stand, right? DRO or whatever.
A
I mean, he is the brother of Kiki Palmer's baby dad.
B
He was the first name that came to.
A
Right, right, right. But yes, but no, that's valid. And I do appreciate the fact that Amanda Seals will speak up about stuff. I just also think you have to take the consequences this. The people who don't speak up because they want to keep working. You see how. How that's. That's the consequence they swallow the. So that they can keep working. Or so that people don't pick sides, so that people don't decide they really like you or really hate this other person based off of a narrative. That when nobody really knows what the full truth is or whatever else, you see how people would like to just avoid the mess and keep working so they don't say stuff. Now you have the choice to say what you want to say. And I'm not mad at you saying it, but. But I think if Issa really didn't fuck with Natasha Rothwell, for example, then Natasha would not be part of the tour. I think if she did not, if she had a disdain for these people the way she seems to have a disdain for you, a mutual disdain for you, then I don't think they would be part of it. And I don't think it's crazy to say it is possible that the things I've said and done over the past several years about this show and the people involved with the show are the reason why they don't want me to be a part of this. I think that's actually very, very obvious. So. But good luck to you in whatever it is you continue to do. You and your light skinned twin gonna come up with some more shenanigans to stay buzzing and just make sure that the people never quite forget who you are, that we always remember you're right around the corner just waiting to make it about you.
B
I do have to say Amanda, Amanda hits it on the head every now and then. A lot of times she will say something.
A
She's right about so many things.
B
I wouldn't listen to Cheyenne Bryant talk about the weather. I would like. She couldn't tell me who her favorite Steven Universe character is. Oh, yeah, like, I don't believe that. Lady mouth.
A
Yeah, no, I don't necessarily think they're the same. I think what is very similar about them is that this seemingly an inability to. To let it go. It's almost like y' all really. You want it. You want people to be talking about you, good or bad, like you. It seems like y' all just really, really want to be part of whatever conversations are happening online. And so you continue to insert yourself deliberately in that way. That's why I call. I'm calling them the light skinned twins. But yeah, no, Amanda is. I think Amanda. Amanda is leagues smarter than Cheyenne Bryant. Amanda would have at least got real robes. You know, she would have bought. She would have looked up the color for the regalia for the PhD that she claimed to have. And then she would have bought a robe that somebody sold online or whatever who graduated 20 years ago. She would have, I think Amanda would have been a lot smarter about it. Cheyenne is just about you didn't try,
B
like, Etsy or like some sort of random graduation Amazon? Cheyenne?
A
You didn't think niggas would go straight to Cheyenne? They said $84. It will be at your house in two days. And you too can lie like you have a PhD. Okay, girl, we all know you did not earn a PhD. Show us the video from your graduation. Oh, we actually don't. Cause, AI, you can do anything now. Just leave it alone.
B
Oh, yeah. Please don't do it.
A
We know you don't have one. We know you don't.
B
Yeah, we don't. We know.

A
Oh, yeah. No. I think my whole building was just rooting for. Not Argentina. The people do not fuck with Argentina, child. I said, boy, I'm a dumbass American. I gotta look this up.
B
Only jerseys I saw in the city were Mexico and then Spain.
A
Oh, yeah.
B
In fact, that nigga in West Hollywood who I threatened to kill was with a group of people who were all in Spain. So they gotta win there.
A
Oh, yeah. I mean, and they. They. They won the. The scooty footy ball, but. Wow, it took so long for anything to happen. Anyway, soccer is.
B
It's one of those things. It is, but I'm from the Caribbean. They love it. I grew up watching soccer and just not caring like most sports.
A
I mean, I can see why you would put your kids in it, cuz. Let them just run the around for two hours and then they pass out. Yeah, my little brother played. My nephew was. And I'm like, no, I did.
