So I went to nyu.

Tish is like that the art. The. It's like the. The art school. You could be in the film department or the acting department. Like, they're both Tish.

And what did you want? Were you in the acting part? You've just always known you wanted to act.

[Brianne]

It's interesting. Not necessarily. No. I grew up here, but nobody in my family is really in the entertainment industry, so I didn't feel like I grew up industry related, but. And then when I was trying to, like, figure out what my thing was, like, what was I going to put on my college resume and stuff like that. My mom really wanted me to play sports, so I tried out for all the sports, and I never made any sports teams. And then I finally auditioned for the improv team and I made that team, and I realized I. The thespians were my people.

[Bobby]

Well, what was thespian Like a theater kid? A God.

[Brianne]

Yeah.

[Bobby]

A weird word. Yeah, that's cool.

[Brianne]

Not as weird as the colors. I'VE chosen for my mushroom.

[Bobby]

Yeah. Thought there'd be some red in there. I don't really know. A real mushroom's just kind of like.

White, so I should have just left it.

[Bobby]

You could have just been. Been done, but it's okay.

It didn't come out till after Covid, but story wise, about three months have passed in the six years in real time.

We did. We had a dialect coach on set, season one.

I've heard that before. Is it just someone who speaks that language or someone who just knows how to.

They're just like a professional in the dialects of the world.

It's a wild profession.

And they just help you speak. Like where are you supposed to be from in the show?

Georgia kind of is from everywhere. Primarily Alabama.

It's very mysterious. But yeah, we had a guy on set because also there's a two Australians in our cast.

Are you close with everyone on it?

We were on location for like five months. Yeah. You can't help you guys now. Yeah. If there's time. I mean, the girl who plays Ginny. We both. I mean it's just on the weekends. You kind of just have to memorize and rest.

Yeah, we don't get anything that far in advance.

It was tough. But I'm. That's why I'm grateful. Like, my husband was there, my nanny was there, and, like, everyone on set was so sweet with her. But also, it's a. It was a heavy season, so a lot of the stuff it, like, wasn't. Well, I mean, look, she was under one. Not like she would appreciate the show in any capacity anyway, but it wasn't. It wasn't appropriate.

So she just stays away. She doesn't come on.

No, she's on set, but it's hard to have her, like, be quiet.

Well, it's just tough because, like, you don't know where the story's going when you first sign on. You don't know how long these things are going to take. So it's kind of like.

Did you just like, how does, how does this work? You auditioned one day for that?

[Brianne]

I just. I auditioned and. Well, so I actually got the appointment when I was. My husband and my. At the time we weren't. We were boyfriend and girlfriend. We were out of town and it was supposed to be a self tape, but because we were in Italy and it was like due the next day and it was so many pages, I was like, I can't swing this right now. Like, I can't make this happen. And then. But I was like, but it's an amazing role. I was like, but I'm also probably not right for it. Like, no one's going to believe me as a mom. I don't know.

[Bobby]

Really? You thought that?

[Brianne]

I did think that. Well, look, this was six years ago for sure now. But yes, six years ago. I wondered.

[Bobby]

Yeah.

[Brianne]

And then I. The trip ended, we got back home, I assumed they cast it. I was sad. And they hadn't cast it yet. And then I got to go in in person and they had Antonia cast, who plays Ginny. So then we did a chemistry read and the rest is history. Then we literally started shooting. I think three weeks later, we're like in Toronto just going for it.

[Bobby]

That's crazy.

[Brianne]

Yeah.

Your life changed fast.

What were the things you were doing before it?

[Brianne]

I was doing the show I was on right before that was called the Passage and it was based off this really cool trilogy of books, but it's about vampires, so I. I had my vampire moment. And then before that, I did another Fox show called the Exorcist. Geena Davis played my mom.

I feel so much guilt anytime I leave them. But then, I don't know. It's hard because I also enjoy working. I'm happy when I go and to get it and then come home and I'm like, look. But it's just hard.

Like you're setting an example for them. And, you know, one day they'll have their own passions and careers.

Because my house has permanent stickers now. There's some that just. I don't even care because if I'm going to try to do it, I'm going to have to deal with like, the residue of the sticker that's still left behind. My kids like to just give me permanent stickers though. Everywhere.

[Bobby]

Oh, yeah, we've got a lot of bandits. Brand.

That was it. Yeah. Then it was born. He didn't even care.

He's a drug dealer. I don't know if he still drugs. Deals drugs, but he was a drug dealer when I met him.

I think it's the needed, like, an Alabama accent in my life. Yeah. And then he told me he was going to. He wanted me to move to Saudi Arabia with him. And I was like, okay. And I was like, I won't be.
