20 days, one historic move, an unbelievable journey. Melania from Amazon MGM Studios captures the one of a kind transition into the White House. Showcasing the planning, the pressure, and the personal moments that come with stepping into the role of the first lady for a second time. From logistical complexities to decisions made behind closed doors, the film brings you closer to Ms. Trump and her family as they return to the nation's capital, see what history looks like before the doors officially open. But Melania arrives exclusively in theaters January 30th of 2026. Hello, everybody. Welcome back to the Riley Gaines Show. Oh, my goodness. We had the travel week from hell this past weekend, getting back to Nashville from Washington, D.C. as I said on Friday's episode, we were in Washington, D.C. for the March for life. It was incredible. Vice President J.D. vance spoke there, which was timely given the fact that he and his wife Usha just announced that they're welcoming fourth baby, another little baby boy into the world. His remarks were something that I don't think we've seen certainly from anyone in the White House before surrounding the issue of life. I mean, you think back to President Bush, his administration, I mean, they essentially hid under the bed during the march for life and waited for it to be over before they came back out. You had President Trump who, who issued a statement and vice president there who gave remarks that were just so clear and filled with conviction and courage. He used words like even child sacrifice. Again, that. That's kind of extraordinary. We haven't seen something like that from the White House before. So it was incredible. We had like a hundred thousand people in the streets. And one of the most remarkable things that I noted was that this was a movement heavily driven by young people, not by Washington, D.C. bureaucrats or politicians, by young people. So I feel incredibly inspired. As I said, though, we had some problems getting back home. Of course, the ice storm that has taken over, especially the southern part of the country. Nashville is home for me. I thought the whole, like, exploding trees thing was a myth until now. Being back home, I've seen trees exploding everywhere, all in my yard. Like they've just essentially split in half. So I'm glad we made it back home safely. I have a new appreciation for airline workers and pilots and flight attendants. God bless you guys. I saw so much anger and frustration directed at you all in the three days that we spent trying to get back to Nashville. But I understand, of course, you wanted us to be safe and you want to get home, too. So thank you guys for your service. We have an exciting episode today. I'VE got a few thoughts I want to share with you guys about the ongoing news cycle of ICE in Minneapolis. I want to talk to you guys about Jennifer Welch. If you don't know the name, then honestly I envy you and Kanye west and his new apology. But before we get into that, I want to tell you about today's sponsor. If you've watched the Riley Gain show before, then you have heard me talk about my friends at why Refi? What they do is truly amazing. Are you struggling with private student loan debt? Is even your minimum payment higher than you can afford? Maybe you're in default. Well, you are not alone. And why Refi can help. They refinance private student loans that others won't touch and they'll give you a custom loan payment based on your ability to pay what you can actually afford. They work with each borrower individually to craft a payment plan. Again, that works for them. They can help you reduce your monthly payment and your total costs. You will get a low fixed interest rate that you cannot get anywhere else. You will be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. And the best part is why REFI does not care what your credit score is. So again, private student loan debts, if they're wrecking your life, if they're destroying your dreams, you do not have to live with this stress and worry anymore. Go to yrefi.com y r e f y.com make sure you tell them that Riley sent you Friday's episode we talked about ice. Specifically the story of the five year old little boy that mainstream media, especially left wing mainstream media, totally ran with. Honestly, I don't want to talk about ICE much more for a couple reasons. And watching what has happened over the weekend and at the beginning half of this week, I mean it has. Like I feel burdened by it. Like I feel a heavy weight on my shoulders watching the clips and the videos and the images that surface online. It is pure and unadulterated chaos, it seems. In Minneapolis. It feels very purge, like the visuals, like the optics of it. You've got people showing up to protests with loaded guns. You've got the ICE agents there, they've got their mask ons. Of course they're armed and rightfully so. It's very dystopian. Honestly, it feels like kind of like colonial, like 1776. Like facing each other with muskets right now. So to sum up how I feel in just a few sentences, I don't enjoy seeing death. Number one, I wish that Renee Good and Alex Preddy were still alive. Ice's job is necessary and good. Both of those things can be true at the same time. And what happened to Alex Preddy and Renee Goode would never happen to me because I would not interfere with a federal operation, certainly not with a loaded firearm at that. Of course, I've built my platform on speaking the truth and highlighting reality. And, and of course, this is no different. I care about the facts. So here they are, first and foremost, what we know to be true. We know that there are edited images surfacing, going viral online. Again, we talked about the five year old little boy, a totally manipulated, manufactured story that ICE was targeting and detaining a five year old little boy with his, I mean, adorable little boy, like chubby cheeks, he had his backpack on, he had just left preschool. They made the story out to be that ICE had targeted the this little boy and they were aiming to deport him. Again, not the case. This little boy's father abandoned him. I think we saw compassion from the ICE agents who sheltered him, brought him in from the cold, and they safely put him in adult supervision. Okay, that's not the story you heard from left wing media outlets or from your favorite Democratic elected officials, but that's not it. Again, we have seen images now of Alex Preddy, the man who ultimately lost his life during that altercation with the ICE agent, going viral online. These images have been altered by AI again, artificial intelligence. We're going to put them on screen here. You can see on this side the original photo of Alex Preddy. And that look, there's nothing necessarily wrong with the photo per se. I think it makes him look more liberal, if that's a thing. And yes, they certainly do have a look to them. Generally, I think it makes him look more liberal than the photo you see on the right side of the screen here. They have like shortened his face, weirdly enough. They've made him more tan. He looks more like veteran, patriotic, esque. Okay. They did the exact same thing with Renee Good, if you can recall, after she tragically lost her life, they used this photo of her online in all of the obituary services, memorial services, odes that were paid to her, where she had this long, blonde, beautiful, curly hair. She looked like a mom, which she was a mom, but that's not how she looked in the state of which she ultimately was at that protest. The images that they were using of Renee Goode were several years old, back when she was married to a man. That's when she had children. Towards the end of her life, she divorced that man, married a woman, shaved her head, looked very butch, looked very lesbian. They didn't use those images. Those weren't the images they selected because they don't make her out to be the crazy liberal that she was when she died. The fact that they need to do this says everything. They know that they're losing this battle. Why? Why did MSNBC show this photo of Alex Preddy? I mean, the only answer that I can come up with is that because human nature is to tend to feel more deeply for people who are attractive. Again, the guy on the left here, he looks like a left wing agitator. He looks like someone who would be at that protest. But the guy on the right, much more attractive, clean cut, he looks like a patriotic veteran. This is the definition of propaganda, right? These pictures that we've seen. The five year old little boy, the story that the left, left wing media ran with, there's another photo circulating online of and it's a pretty like I almost fell for it, to be totally honest with you, of several ICE agents surrounded by Alex Preddy. You can see a gun pointed basically at the back of his head. He's on the ground. It appears to maybe be a cell phone on his hand. But if you look at the photo on screen at his hand, that's not the right number of fingers. And look at the ICE agent's head. He actually doesn't have one totally manipulated photo. This is propaganda. You can feel sympathy and have a position on the situation without this total propaganda. Another fact that we now know to be true is that Obama deported millions more illegals than President Trump did with no due process, by the way. And where were the riots then? We've got a photo on screen here of Barack Obama's ICE chief who had just received an award. Obama's placing it around his neck for the removal of 920,000 illegals from the country. Now Donald Trump's ICE chief is called a Nazi. If you're looking on screen@YouTube.com then you know that it's the same person. That is Barack Obama awarding Tom Homan. In 2012, Obama deported 409,000 people. And in 2025, President Trump deported 290,000 people, nearly double the amount in just one year from Obama to President Trump. What's the difference? The difference is mainstream media brainwashing. There was no resistance when Obama did this because he had the support of media and local and state law enforcement and both political parties. That's not the case with President Trump. President Trump faces obstacles from federal judges and Defiant mayors and sheriffs in blue cities like Philadelphia and the media and activists, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, they have made it nearly impossible for him to do the job that he promised to do on the campaign trail. I think they forget that President Trump campaigned on mass deportations, meaning that what we're seeing is exactly what we voted for, at least 77 million of us, right? He won the popular vote, he won the electorate. We voted for this. Another fact that we now know to be true is that ice is in all 50 states. It's not just happening in Minnesota. They're in California, they're in Florida. They've deported more illegals in Texas, a red state, than in Minneapolis, than in the state of Minnesota. But still, you don't see Texas again, a red state. You don't see that burning down or riots or looting or protests. Why is that? Because Texas leadership isn't encouraging their residents to revolt. That's where the trouble is. That's the discrepancy here. So ask yourself, is the problem really ICE doing their job, or is it the way that leadership, especially in blue states and blue cities like Minneapolis, is it the way their leadership has responded? Now, over on Instagram, I have seen people, really women, a lot of women, put posting on their stories or on their feed, and it's kind of like the little black square phenomenon all over again, where clearly women in particular have fallen for the hysteria. They believe they're being morally superior by saying something, by using their platform, again, to comment on situations that I believe are pretty nuanced in, situations that we're lacking a lot of context of. We've seen very few clips, very short clips from maybe several different angles, but nonetheless, we're lacking context. And so my question to these, again, women in particular, who are posting things on their story on their feeds, especially on Instagram, is, have you been morally consistent? What do I mean by that? Did you say anything when Lake and Riley or the plethora of other young women just like her died unjustly at the hands of an illegal immigrant? Or did you say anything when teachers or U.S. military members or health care workers were fired for refusing to comply with the autocratic vaccine mandate? Right. My body, my choice. Did you say anything when Charlie Kirk was assassinated? Or worse, did you find yourself happy or celebrating it? We have not seen a lot of that moral consistency across the board by people who claim to be acting out of compassion. I said this last episode, and I will say it again. Think critically. Resist manipulation. Take a second before posting Something that you feel as if you must on your social media to fit in or to keep a friendship that otherwise you. You would lose. Resist that type of manipulation. That's a really big red flag. If you feel as if you must post something, you don't have to post anything. You don't have to have an opinion on every single thing. It doesn't make you a grandstanding person. Resist that manipulation. I will say in. In all of the coverage that we have seen surrounding ice, I approach this conversation as, of course, a conservative through and through, but I think more importantly, I care about maintaining a biblical worldview. I know that we have a God that is just. I know that he corrects injustice where he sees it. We should do the same as his people. He's very clear about what qualifies as evil, what he thinks of evil. And I will say this about the propaganda piece that we have seen, uh, spreading like a wildfire on social media, on mainstream media. Christians being gullible is not Christlike. Actually, it's sinful. When you fall for weaponized empathy and spread that propaganda while calling it love or compassion or empathy or. Or whatever other word you want to use, you're not showing true compassion. Understand, again, those words have been conflated to mean something that they're really not. You're functioning at that point as agents of chaos and division and enablers of evil. So if you're a Christian and you find yourself struggling with the news, even watching the news, or if you don't know how to interpret the actions of ICE or these protests, I encourage you to read Romans 12 and 13. That is what I read over the weekend. Really, really good. I will always seek his word over my own opinion or the opinion of others, because I know that he has the answers when we do not. So last thing I. I will say about these ICE protests is that I know these guys aren't the good guys. If you're watching on screen@YouTube.com this is some of the protests happening at a Hilton hotel where I guess the agitators believed several ICE agents were being housed. They were staying in this hotel. You can see here. I mean, they're throwing bricks through windows. They're harassing the agents themselves and the poor hotel workers. They've got spray paint, they're writing on the walls. That is not the side of history that I want to be on. Good news that we have seen is that President Trump has now said that he has had good conversations with, with Governor Walls, with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Fry. So that is A positive advancement that leaves me feeling hopeful and optimistic about the strategy that they will impose in Minneapolis. Although, again, when you see some of the footage, it does appear like the city is just simply too far gone. We've seen people like Megan Kelly. I know. Sage steel amplified it. Where. Which I don't. I think they're saying this sarcastically. I don't think they actually think this, but they're saying, you know, President Trump should just pull out of Minneapolis, remove the federal agents, let the city burn down Again, I don't think they actually think that, but it would be interesting to see what would happen to this city if total chaos could ensue in the way that I believe the protesters honestly want it to.
B
Evangelical Christianity is a cancer. These are the worst of our country. These are the worst people in our country because they use their religion in two ways. As a weapon and as a shield. They weaponize it whenever they want to and say, we're on the moral high ground. You're a lesbian. You deserve to die. You're a lesbian. The cops shouldn't have revived you. Oh, your parents are Mexicans and they brought you over here. Yeah, you should go to jail and eat worm food. And then when you call them out on it, oh, my God, they're after the Christians. How dare they? How dare they? We're so oppressed. White Christians are so oppressed in this country, and they want it both ways. Because in the religion that duplicity is taught, you can be morally duplicitous. You. You. You thrive in cognitive dissonance. And so this is just a massive, massive problem. And it should come as no surprise to anyone that of this cult that I'm talking about, white evangelicals, I think over 80% went and voted triple trumped.
A
So she's talking about me and probably many of you. I am a white evangelical Christian. I did not triple trump. I couldn't triple trump. I would have triple trumped. I think we should put that on a shirt. It sounds like an Olympic sport, the triple trump. Nonetheless, as a white evangelical Christian myself, I have never heard a single person, never mind another white evangelical Christian, say, your parents are Mexican. You should go to jail and eat worm food. I've never heard that come from a Christian's mouth. Like, I would love one verifiable source, Jennifer. Like, show me one white Christian saying, you're a lesbian. Cops shouldn't have revived you. And newsflash, if they call themselves a Christian and they're saying that they're likely not a Christian, or at least we're not reading from the same Bible. And to that point, like, I'm sure there are plenty of atheists or people who are agnostic who support the actions of ice. She's conflating Christianity with law and order with like, morality. And she's acting as if Christian persecution is not a thing. It is a thing domestically and globally. Right. What happened in Minneapolis, for crying out loud, at City Church. We talked about this on the episode with Michelle Tafoya. This was a church that was invaded because it was a church. Right. They would have called this a hate crime if people rushed in to a mosque where Muslims were gathered or to a synagogue or a Hindu temple. But no, this happened to white evangelical Christians. So it's a heroic act of, of journalism on behalf of Don Lemon, who is protected by the First Amendment. Or what about the Covenant shooting in Nashville? Have we forgotten that so quickly? This was a woman who identified as a man. So someone who identified as trans, who specifically targeted white Christian children. 39 year old kids died and Jennifer and her entirely irrelevant co host would be in the streets rioting if three 9 year old children were shot and killed solely for being in the country illegally. But she's not sad about the kids who lost their lives at the Covenant School because they and their families are a cancer to society. What about Nigeria? This is what Nicki Minaj has used her platform to speak up so eloquently about. Before the UN even last week we saw Islamic extremists who abducted 174 Nigerian Christians while they were worshiping in church. This last week. They raided the church, they blocked the exits. I think only nine people escaped. Reportedly over 125,000 Christians have died, were murdered, not died, they were murdered since 2009 in Nigeria. That sounds a lot like Christian persecution to me. Jennifer Welch, Iran. Does she know how dangerous it is to be a Christian in countries like North Korea, Somalia, Yemen, Sudan? These are the kind of women Jennifer Welch and her co host, I don't know the co host name, who would have like the coexist sticker on their bumper plate, but in reality they don't want to coexist at all. She just called people like myself, again, probably many of you, cancers to society. The worst cancers to society. And like I said, the co host, like, I have seen so many of Jennifer Welch's incredibly stupid takes going viral online. Again, most of the time for how these takes are. And it's the same split screen format where you have Jennifer Welch on the left side of the screen and You've got the other woman on the right side of the screen and she's wearing these like ridiculous fruit fly looking glasses. And I have never heard her say a word ever. I think this show, this podcast, is really just Jennifer Welch, like talking to herself with the other woman, homegirl on the right. Just kind of like nodding along, I guess, in agreement. I wonder if they ever sit back and like, realize how insane and destructive and politically charged they sound. Maybe that's like the plot just to be so utterly wrong and have these stupidest takes strictly for like, virality purposes. I don't know. It's kind of like watching a humiliation ritual at this point. Last thing I want to talk to you guys about is the most recent. Yes, most recent, because this has happened before. Most recent apology letter from Kanye. Or I guess now legally he goes by the name of Yay. Formerly known as Kanye West. He took out a full page ad in the Wall Street Journal titled to those I've hurt to publicly apologize. Let's read a little bit here. He says. 25 years ago, I was in a car accident that broke my jaw and caused injury to the right frontal lobe of my brain. At the time, the focus was on the visible damage, the fract fracture, the swelling, and the immediate physical trauma. The deeper injury, the one inside my skull, went unnoticed. Comprehensive scans were not done. Neurological exams were limited, and the possibility of a frontal lobe injury was never raised. It wasn't properly diagnosed until 2023. That medical oversight caused serious damage to my mental health and led to my bipolar type 1 diagnosis. Bipolar disorder comes with its own defense system, denial. When you're manic, you don't think you're sick. You, you think everyone else is overreacting. You feel like you're seeing the world more clearly than ever, when in reality you're losing your grip entirely. Once people label you as crazy, you feel as if you cannot contribute anything meaningful to the world. It's easy for people to joke and laugh it off, when in fact this is a very serious, debilitating disease you can die from. According to the World Health Organization and Cambridge University, people with bipolar disorder have a life expectancy that is shortened by 10 to 15 years on average and a 2 to 3 times higher all cause mortality rate than the general population. This is on par with severe heart disease, type 1 diabetes, HIV and cancer. All lethal and fatal if left untreated. The scariest thing about this disorder is how persuasive it is when it tells you you don't need help. It makes you blind, but convince you you have inside you feel powerful, certain and unstoppable. I lost touch with reality. Things got worse the longer I ignored the problem. I said and did things I deeply regret. Some of the people I love the most I treated the worst. You. You endured fear, confusion, humiliation and the exhaustion of trying to love someone who was at times unrecognizable. Looking back, I became detached from my true self. In that fractured state, I gravitated towards the most destructive symbol I could find, the swastika, and even sold T shirts bearing it. One of the difficult aspects of having bipolar type 1 are the disconnected moments, many of which I still can't recall, that led to poor judgment and reckless behavior that oftentimes feels like an out of body experience. I regret and I'm deeply mortified by my actions in that state and I'm committed to accountability, treatment and meaningful change. It does not excuse what I did. Though I am not a Nazi nor an anti Semite, I love Jewish people. To the black community which held me down through all the highs and lows and the darkest of times, the black community is unquestionably the foundation of who I am. I am so sorry to have let you down. I love us in early 2025, I fell into a four month long manic episode of psychotic, paranoid and impulsive behavior that destroyed my life. As the situation became increasingly unsustainable, there were times I didn't want to be here anymore. Having bipolar disorder is not a state of constant mental illness. When you go into the manic episode, you are ill at that point. When you're not in an episode, you are completely normal. And that's when the wreckage from the illness hits the hardest. Hitting Rock Bottom A few months ago, my wife encouraged me to finally get help. I found comfort in Reddit forums of all places. Different people speak of being in manic or depressive episodes of a similar nature. I read their stories and realized that I wasn't alone. It's not just me who ruins their entire life once a year. Despite taking meds every day and being told by the so called doctors in the world that I am not bipolar but merely experiencing symptoms of autism, my words as a leader in my community have real global impact and influence. In my mania, I lost complete sight of that. As I find my new baseline and new center. Through an effective regime of medication, therapy, exercise and clean living, I have newfound much needed clarity. I am pouring my energy into positive, meaningful art, music, clothing design and other new ideas to help the world. I'm not asking for sympathy or a free pass. Though I aspire to earn your forgiveness, I write today simply to ask for your patience and understanding as I find my way home. Goodness gracious. This is a man who has lived so many lives. I can remember Kanye west when he like did his whole like gospel thing. Like he's wearing like the cloak and on stage and singing gospel in a choir. Of course, the swastika shirts. Remember at the VMAs when Taylor Swift is up there and he's there to present the word and he jumps up and he says, yo, Taylor, you know I'm, I'm happy for you. I'm gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. He has lived so many lives. My first thought when I read this, when I saw this was, can you even get bipolar disorder from a car accident? Like, I know brain injuries, brains in general, like, are very complex. I've heard of brain tumors causing erratic and impulsive behavior, but I don't think I've ever heard of a traumatic brain injury causing something, something to this effect. And for clarity, that is not me saying that I don't think he has bipolar disorder. I 110% think he does, but I've never heard of that. Honestly, I should ask ChatGPT if that's a thing. And it's really sad. Like we have been able to witness the many, many crash outs that Kanye west has had over the years in real time. Mental illness is real. He clearly struggles with it. Bipolar and mania is not an easy thing for anyone, especially a powerful man with the platform that he has, as he alluded to, in such a demonic entertainment industry, it can't be easy to deal with in the limelight. And I, I, one thing I found interesting is he talks about finding comfort on Reddit of all places. Most people that I know that I interact with don't spend much time on Reddit because it's like a cesspool, I think, oftentimes of left wing indoctrination. I've talked to so many detransitioners. So people who have obviously undergone either surgeries or hormones believing that they were something that they aren't now, detransitioning. There's a commonality where so many of those people say that they were on Reddit and they found themselves being affirmed by a group of people who led them to believe all of the lies that they were told, like they were correct to feel as if they're born in the wrong body and really horrible things. They say a lot of that stemmed from Reddit, so it's interesting him talking about finding comfort on that forum. I think this is actually a pretty good apology. Good, I guess in air quotes. I mean you have to wonder did this come from him? Was I mean he talks about medicine and therapy. I would imagine if he wrote this like he was medicated. This come from a marketing firm, his PR people. Was this written by Chad GPT? I don't know but it seems like a very thought out apology. He talks about earning forgiveness. One more thing I I noted in reading this apology is he said that it was actually his wife who encouraged him to finally get help. Is this the same wife who runs around literally naked? Like naked? I don't know which red carpet it was. They were at some red carpet event where she's got a coat on and she takes off the coat and she's wearing literally nothing. I think they should go and get help together. That is my unprofessional opinion. Now, the timing of this for context, this apology comes just days before the release of his new album Bully. I think it's out on January 30th, so the end of this month. But I know last November he privately met with the chief rabbi, I believe of Morocco. I think it's Rabbi Pinto. I remember the clips. I think they met in New York City. He apologized. Kanye west apologized for his past comments and so now I guess we just wait. Like will his actions reflect his words? Thus far he's been the king of running different psyops and apologizing and relapsing. But as a Christian, I I believe the right response is to pray for him because we have a God who makes all things new. We'll be watching Kanye new album coming out January 30th. I'm curious what the response of Candace will be. I know her and Yay were close. I don't know if they remain close, but I'm curious if she will have a response on the most recent switch up from him. We shall see. In the meantime, subscribe Like Comment Follow us at the Riley Gaines show on Instagram on Tik Tok. Be sure to subscribe here. Never miss an episode. The Riley Gaines Show — January 28, 2026
Episode Title: The Media Is Lying About ICE … Here’s the Proof
In this episode, Riley Gaines examines the ongoing controversy surrounding ICE actions in Minneapolis, critiques media narratives and manipulated imagery, and discusses cultural responses to ICE and immigration enforcement. She then pivots to critique the rhetoric of progressive podcaster Jennifer Welch and closes by analyzing Kanye West's recent public apology. Throughout, Gaines frames each topic through a conservative, Christian worldview while urging listeners to think critically and avoid manipulation by mainstream and social media.
Riley Gaines uses this episode to dissect what she believes is misreporting and media manipulation about ICE operations, emphasizing the need for Christians and conservatives to hold moral consistency, resist manipulation (“weaponized empathy”), and maintain a biblical worldview. She critiques reactionary online activism, skewering progressive commentary from media figures like Jennifer Welch, and offers both skepticism and some sympathy in her coverage of Kanye West’s apology. As always, Gaines encourages listeners to stay grounded, informed, and to seek the truth before shaping or sharing opinions.
