Later, the two of them follow Blake to an abandoned building on the edge of town, where Blake locks herself inside a panic room. Unexpectedly, another shadow named Rugasso shows up and manages to free Blake and the two of them escape and go into hiding. The Tasked with tracking down the shadows once more, Daniel suggests using Amber's senses to help guide them in their search. They find the shadows hiding in a farmhouse outside of town. Upon entering the farmhouse, Amber falls through a trapdoor and is knocked unconscious by Rugasso, who is lying in wait. Daniel pursues Blake into a barn and finds himself trapped. Ragasso arrives to help Blake, but finds he has been double crossed by his fellow shadow. Blake, as it turns out, is furious at Ragasso's elevated status within the Kin, while she herself was overlooked. She plots to kill him by locking him inside the burning barn, where he will be at Daniel's mercy. When Blake returns to search for Amber's body, she finds that Ricasso has betrayed her in turn by leaving Amber alive. Amber kills Blake and heads for the barn inside, Daniel kills Ricasso as the fire rages around them. Unable to find the exit through the smoke, Daniel is rescued at the last minute by Amber, and together they flee to safety. This completes the recap for this season.
