Chloe
This is the run through. I'm Chloe.
Mel
Mel.
Chloe
And Taylor Antrim is getting a little antsy because he's ready to start.
Taylor Antrim
Well, it's noon and I love a preview. That's what we're here for. Go on.
Chloe
What does noon have to do with it?
Mel
This is Vogue, Chloe. If you're on time, you're late.
Chloe
Oh, I see.
Taylor Antrim
It's actually 1208. We were supposed to start at noon.
Chloe
I'm joined by Willow Lindley and Taylor Antrim. And now that we are past awards season and fashion month, as of this week, we are ready to look forward to the movies, shows, books, theater and more coming out this spring. Of course, we're also going to talk a bit about everything we saw over the collections and all of our met gallup predictions based on what we saw this fashion month. So buckle up.
Taylor Antrim
We're done with winter. That's the message here.
Chloe
That's the takeaway.
Taylor Antrim
We're looking forward to the next season.
Chloe
Great thaw.
Mel
We're going into winter 2025.
Taylor Antrim
Oh. From a fashion point of view.
Mel
Yes, exactly.
Taylor Antrim
Good call. Yeah. You can educate all of our listeners about the funky fashion calendar.
Mel
Yeah.
Taylor Antrim
Anyway.
Chloe
So let's start with our vogue spring news. Our April cover came out on Tuesday. The beautiful Gigi Hadid shot by Annie Lubovitz and styled by Alex. And written. Beautiful piece written by Chloe Shama. Willow, tell us a little behind the scenes because you were instrumental in making this I was twenties fantasia happen.
Mel
I'm really happy I wasn't on set because apparently they shot outside in the Bronx with no heaters. So it was a pretty extreme shoot day. And Gigi's a really good sport.
Taylor Antrim
Very 1920s.
Mel
Very 1920s. It was method modeling.
Taylor Antrim
Where did the whole idea get started, Willow?
Mel
The idea got started, really, from the last collections, the spring collections. There was a big sort of twenties influence, but then we were also all these people wearing vintage on red carpets. So it was sort of a confluence of vintage and 1920s influence which Alex wove together into that story.
Taylor Antrim
So it was like the 2000s meets the 1920s.
Mel
Exactly, exactly.
Taylor Antrim
So there was this sort of funny but very vogue thing that happens where on the one hand, you have, like, Gigi Hadid as our cover star and then a proper interview and time spent with her that Chloe Sharma wrote the profile and it's all about her being a mom and, you know, these kind of like, very personal details. She talks about her relationship with Bradley, which got some pickup. But then the pictures are like this entirely other narrative transport you to 20s and 20s, and between Willow and me, we kind of have the two sides of this story. So I'm responsible for editing the personal side. And then you are right in there with the creation of this, like, total fantasia that Annie Leibovitz and Alex put together for the shoot.
Mel
Yeah, and Gigi had just gotten that great haircut too, which I think had sort of had 20s on the brain a bit. She had the perfect sort of 20.
Chloe
I learned the name of that haircut.
Mel
What was it from?
Chloe
Margo Mbumba. It's a fob, a flipped bob.
Taylor Antrim
Oh, I love that.
Mel
There you go. I thought a fob was related to keys, but by all means, it could.
Taylor Antrim
Be a Margot creation, but we'll pause on that.
Mel
You heard it here first, maybe, but yeah, it really came together. And Gigi's turning 30, so it's sort of a coming of age thing, which I feel like weaves itself into the twenties a little bit.
Taylor Antrim
Can you tell us.
Chloe
Can you tell us about some of the casting? Because I love when Annie sort of does very relevant casting for historical figures.
Mel
Well, she's so specific on her references, so the minute she started working on this story, she had very specific images in mind, including these sort of other 20s characters to sort of flesh out this idea of Gigi with other artists.
Chloe
Like the photographer Edward Steichen.
Mel
Exactly.
Taylor Antrim
Steichen was obviously a huge influence. She's actually nearly recreated some classic Steichen Vogue images in this shoot. But it goes deeper than that. Like, as you were saying, Willow, Gigi is actually cast as Marianne Morehouse, who was like, you know, America's first supermodel, they say. But it was the 1920s model who was married to the poet E.E. cummings. So naturally, Annie has to find her E. E Cummings.
Mel
Exactly.
Chloe
Who ended up playing E E Cummings?
Mel
Was that Mike Feist or was that.
Taylor Antrim
That was Mike Feist. Excellent, excellent call, Willow.
Mel
Yes.
Taylor Antrim
So Mike Feist, last seen in Challengers, I think, right?
Mel
Yes, exactly.
Taylor Antrim
We loved Mike Feist in Challengers. He is EE Cummings looking very bohemian. And in his Greenwich Village Garrett apartment with Gigi Hadid playing Marian Morehouse, who was his wife in the 30s, sort of laid out on a settee next to him.
Mel
And then we had Lewis Pullman, too, right?
Taylor Antrim
Lewis Pullman plays Steichen himself in A picture of a photographer shooting on location, as Steichen did back in the era. I had to write these captions. And when you write these captions, you really can't get it wrong because Annie knows what she's doing, and she's like, that's a reference to a very specific Steichen image. And so you feel like you're working for the Smithsonian or something like that.
Mel
Yeah. The perfect dress for that cover because she had that cover image cemented in her mind, and we. We went through many a dress to get to that dress, and she actually removed part of that dress to get that dress to look as it does on the COVID So there was a little customization on set. Annie and then our fashion editor, Alex, in tandem.
Taylor Antrim
Scissors out.
Mel
Oh, yeah, there were scissors involved.
Taylor Antrim
Controversial.
Mel
Yes.
Chloe
Brands love when you customize their clothes.
Mel
Yes, that was a fun conversation. But luckily, the image was powerful enough to wipe away the trauma of the phone calls that ensued after. After that happened. It looks beautiful. It's a Valentino dress from Alessandro.
Taylor Antrim
So there's a great video, too. You can check out on all of our platforms.
Mel
Hairspray.
Taylor Antrim
Hairspray, yeah.
Chloe
This was a real passion project for Gigi, who had been wanting to recreate the iconic dance scene from Hairspray because she was a theater nerd in her youth. I actually.
Taylor Antrim
She was a theater nerd.
Chloe
Laughed out loud. The Cut did a piece titled Gigi Hadid finds her maestro about how.
Mel
It's pretty good.
Taylor Antrim
Pretty good, Pretty good.
Chloe
The next big Vogue undertaking.
Mel
Yes, we love an event.
Chloe
We love an event at Vogue.
Mel
Yes.
Chloe
Tell us what's next.
Mel
Well, riffing off the Gigi inspired by vintage and wearing some real vintage. We are hosting a vintage market in New York, and there is a companion market happening in London.
Chloe
Vogue. Vintage.
Mel
Vogue, Vintage. So we are taking over in two cities, and we have some incredible pieces from a wide range of celebrity model, friends of Vogue, designers, staff of Vogue. Lots of donations, and in New York, the proceeds will go to benefit victims of the Los Angeles fires.
Chloe
And Willow, I have a question. Is anything coming from the Vogue closet?
Mel
You know, the funniest part is that the Vogue closet doesn't really house that many things. The Vogue closet is more in and out. It's shipping and receiving, as I call it. So things don't really live in the closet, which is. So every once in a while, I'll get a slack from another publication in the Conde Nast hour being like, can I come down and borrow something? I have a TV appearance, and I'm like there's nothing to borrow. There's nothing to borrow.
Chloe
It's like one of the most misunderstood. Vogue. Yeah.
Mel
The Devil Wears Prada didn't help me with that part of my job. It helped me explain my job to my parents in a myriad of ways, but not understand the Vogue closet. So nothing's really coming from the closet.
Chloe
Itself, none of the shoes or anything?
Mel
No, not really. But we are housing the pieces right now in the closet, so they will be sent from the closet to the house.
Taylor Antrim
We're housing those pieces all over the office, I would add. It's crazy.
Mel
They're making their way around because there's so many great ones, vintage clothes everywhere.
Chloe
I saw like a wedding dress in Mark Holgate's office. That is the spirit.
Taylor Antrim
Leave your desk for 10 minutes, you'll come back and there'll be like a heap of vintage dresses.
Mel
So what do you want to buy? Have you found a dress for yourself?
Taylor Antrim
I'm not sure I'm the target market for the vintage market, but I'm very happy that it's happening.
Mel
Levi's has generously donated a rack of vintage denim, which to me is honestly like the, the highlight because I love vintage Levi's and actually one of the things I lost in the fires was two pairs of my favorite vintage Levi's from when I was a teenager. So I'm very excited to have everything from that to some Chanel couture making the rounds at the vintage sale. So come down. It's. It's on Mercer street at March 29th. Roll and Hill.
Taylor Antrim
So how's it work? You have to buy tickets.
Chloe
You buy tickets on the Vogue app.
Taylor Antrim
On the Vogue app.
Mel
Please download the Vogue app and 100% of the proceeds towards the entertainment community fund.
Chloe
The run through will be back in a moment.

Chloe
And we're back now. Paris Fashion Week just wrapped. I we're filming. We're recording this on Wednesday afternoon. I flew home yesterday. We had a wonderful episode last Friday with Nicole Phelps, Mark Holgate and Vogue France's new head of editorial content, Claire Thompson Genville, about what they had seen so far and it was Chloe.
Taylor Antrim
We want your take yeah.
Chloe
Oh, thank you, Tiara.
Mel
Fresh from the streets.
Taylor Antrim
Give us the bird's eye view. What did you make of Paris Thompson?
Mel
What kind of dogs did you see in the street?
Chloe
Oh, my God.
Mel
That's the resident.
Chloe
Many do Parisian dos. Also, by the way, I, like, sent him emailed a commercial because I was like, it is a dogment. It is a doge moment.
Taylor Antrim
I'm sure they loved getting that.
Mel
And what was the response?
Chloe
No.
Mel
Silence.
Chloe
Silence.
Taylor Antrim
They've got their filters dialed in.
Mel
They're like, oh, this is from Chloe. Okay.
Chloe
But the Beaumarchais, which is the iconic department store in Paris, the actually the first department store ever. The entire store, which is a beautiful building, has been taken over as a dog takeover. There are dogs. It's a miracle without you home, tipping their heads as you walk in on every level. And I went by on a Sunday afternoon between shows, and everyone was there with their dogs in their little outfits. It was a joy. It was a delight. You can custom make dog pottery. You can get dog clothing embroidered. Anyway, did you see any humans? I saw a few humans.
Mel
Okay.
Taylor Antrim
Yeah. What was your favorite show?
Chloe
I liked the sort of the Kookier shows that felt like they just went for it. Like, Kodakova was a completely kind of bonkers show. Like models. It was a bit Emperor's New Clothes, where you were like, what's happening here? A model was walking down wearing a viola. Another model was wearing a drum as a skirt. There were belts hanging off everywhere. That was one of my big trends. Belts where they shouldn't be.
Mel
Okay.
Chloe
Belts on bags, belts on dresses. But also, it just. It felt exciting and like something new.
Taylor Antrim
Right?
Mel
And Nikova is one of the big new young French designers who's really making a stamp on Paris Fashion Week and bringing a little youthful end to a week that was a little.
Chloe
It felt like a little like punk and old school. And the same energy was definitely there at Duran Lantink, who everyone say is on his way to a new job. And he showed in an office building, and they had this amazing thing of desks set up with people stapling and shuffling papers and then singing sort of odd, cutting edge opera ish things. And then the show started. And it was, as I'm sure everyone saw on Instagram, a man wearing silicone enormous breasts and a woman wearing a male silicone breast top, but then also kooky trousers and bottomless pants and everything just sort of. It played into this theme of the week that was sort of subversive workwear or workwear with A twist.
Mel
Taylor looks concerned.
Taylor Antrim
Yeah, no, no. I can't wait to see more subversive workwear at the office at Vogue hq. Yeah.
Chloe
Y some feeling that since Conde Nast just started instituting their four day work week and there was a lot of talk about severance and Elise Taylor wrote a really fun article about the show.
Taylor Antrim
Severance.
Chloe
Yeah, Yeah.
Mel
I think the pacing of that was specific.
Chloe
Yeah, yeah. Workwear was definitely something people talked about a lot.
Mel
Was it? It was Stella McCartney that had the headline afterwards, Laptop to lap dance, I believe. Right.
Chloe
Stella McCartney also had her show in an office building. What did you think about that, Willow?
Mel
I mean, there was so much office. Office looks, some of which I do hope to not see in my own office thing, because as a manager, I think we'd have to have conversations, so I would like to avoid. But no, I mean, there was great everything from Prada to Stella sort of.
Chloe
Talking about even Givenchy and Tom Ford. There was some of that. You know, obviously the two big debuts of the season were Givenchy and Tom Ford. Sarah Burton's first show, she had a. At the Givenchy headquarters. People were rapturous about it. She got a standing ovation. Heider Ackerman at Tom Ford the day before. People loved that show. It felt like the Tom Ford brand had really just been reinvigorated in a way that people hadn't seen in a long time.
Mel
Cool to see Tom there. And that big hug at the end was very sweet from the two of them.
Chloe
Yeah, it felt like a real symbiotic moment.
Mel
And Sarah, there was a lot of conversations around women dressing women. Right. In this era where there's so much work, there is a conversation about workwear and sort of what is the take on workwear from someone like Sarah Burton and Mrs. Prada and Stella versus just sort of sexy suiting.
Chloe
Yeah. And I would say that, and this is something that Claire said in the podcast, that it was like a feeling of big feminine energy this season. It was very much a moment for female designers sort of leaning in and taking ownership of that.
Taylor Antrim
Well, that's exciting, right? I mean, it was just last year that we were all sort of lamenting the lack of women in creative directorships around European fashion houses. So that's a big shift.
Chloe
Then I would say the two, three big front row trends were Dochi, who had some crazy makeup looks throughout fashion week.
Mel
She went through a transformation every day. Doji went from being, like, in a bit of a chop situation at D Squared in Milan to barefoot at Chloe barefoot. The Barefoot goddess at Chloe. And then a totally different Valentin. It was Valentino Couture at the Louvre dinner.
Chloe
Yes. And Chapel Roan was absolutely the star of Paris Fashion Week.
Taylor Antrim
Wow. Okay, so those two have really been embraced by.
Chloe
Oh, my God. Chapel was at everything and looking completely different at everything.
Mel
Transformation at every turn.
Taylor Antrim
Totally.
Chloe
The biggest takeaway from Paris Fashion Week for me was the parlor game that became, like, sports team trading, where every conversation I was in, whether it was a car to a show, a drink after show, was, who's going to Gucci? When is Loewe being announced? When is Simone Belotti gonna be announced for just leaving Bali? Lot of debate about, is Hedi Slimane gonna be going to Gucci or is it gonna be Demna?
Mel
There's nothing fashion people love more than a rumor.
Taylor Antrim
So it's like everybody has their fantasy football teams, but it's actually that it's fantasy fashion teams. Do I have my lineup set from all the changes that are coming? I mean, the Met Gala is looming, and that's looming in a good way. I mean, we're all abuzz here with our sort of May issue, which is.
Mel
Definitely so excited about the May issue.
Taylor Antrim
The May issue is really something. I'm excited for everyone to see it.
Mel
I was not in Paris, and I was actually on a set for one of our big May stories, which was very exciting. And one of the things I can say about all the May stories that I find really exciting is the amount of jewelry. We have so much jewelry. So much jewelry and going into the Met, like, big brooch energy. Big brooch energy, big ring energy, big earrings. I mean, there's one thing about shooting more men and more men in tailoring that has brought out some really incredible jewelry. And I think we're gonna see some really wonderful pieces that we haven't really seen before or who have been in archives for the Met. And I think that's pretty exciting.
Taylor Antrim
Right? So it's a huge tailoring moment in the issue with Superfine, which is the Costume Institute exhibition that the Met Gala is opening being dedicated to menswear and tailoring. It really. We really went there in the. So I'm excited to talk about that, but that's on the horizon.
Mel
We'll stop now before we get ahead of ourselves.
Taylor Antrim
Yeah.
Chloe
Let's take a quick break, and we'll be back with our spring culture preview.
Taylor Antrim
What else is on the horizon?
Chloe
So many things. I love a spring culture preview.
Mel
I was.
Taylor Antrim
Me, too. Me, too.
Chloe
I was diving into the New Yorkers and New York magazines. And I was like, I'm excited for our own.
Taylor Antrim
Especially when my culture and your culture have different cultures. No. And Willow, I'm really interested to hear about your culture. So we've had different people on culture previews. And you are something of a, you know, a closed book to me. Except for the fact that just, you know, when it comes to your cultural consumption. Except for the fact that Willow and I bonded early on our adoration.
Chloe
Lioness of.
Taylor Antrim
No, Chloe. No. Of our love of the Netflix show Drive to Survive.
Chloe
Don't you have a group chat with Irene and Corey?
Taylor Antrim
And there is a low key, huge Formula one fan base in the Rogue Office.
Mel
Yes. Which I started during the pandemic.
Taylor Antrim
Yes. I do attribute it to this show to some extent.
Mel
Oh, no. 100%. It all started with the show.
Taylor Antrim
Yeah. No, this show, seven seasons, it's sort of pioneered this kind of like docusport series craze that we're living in now. But does it better than just about any other example. They're all made by the same production company, which is called Box to Box Productions. They are so good at this thing, which is like they follow different storylines throughout a sports season. Really make you care about the characters. They're like villains and heroes. And the great thing about Formula One, obviously, is that the locations are just so glamorous and so outsized.
Mel
Yeah. But also the characters are really interesting to get hooked into because there's only ever 20 drivers. There's so many people that work in the Sport, but there's 10 team principals and there's 20 drivers. So even though they're in helmets and they're in cars, you get to know them really well because there's just not.
Taylor Antrim
That many of so that's airing now on Netflix. And then there's another show that I'm hopeful I can get you excited about. Chloe, I know. I know it's hard. It's hard with you. If it's not like Britbox, Agatha Christie towards zero. I was just gonna say that I know that trailer.
Chloe
That trailer looked good, actually.
Mel
I'm really the intersection of the two of you somehow. I'm interested in both these.
Taylor Antrim
Oh, intersection is generous.
Chloe
Angelica Huston and Agatha Christine. What more does one want?
Taylor Antrim
I watched this trailer and I was like, this is gonna give Chloe me something to talk about. No. Maybe this is more than you're interested in, Chloe, but Wolf Hall.
Chloe
Oh, I'm excited about that.
Taylor Antrim
It's so good.
Chloe
You've already watched.
Taylor Antrim
I have watched, but I feel like.
Chloe
The other ones were so Far away that I need to rewatch the old ones now.
Taylor Antrim
That's right. Let's explain what we're talking about. The Hilary Mantel novels about Henry VIII and the Thomas Cromwell. Thomas Cromwell and King Henry's many wives that all met their demise.
Chloe
And Mark Rylance swooped right.
Taylor Antrim
So these books were sort of Titanic books that came out what, 10 years ago or something like that? Even more. And they were made into a TV series. The first two, Wolf Hall, Bringing up the Bodies. Mark Rylance plays Cromwell and Damian Lewis, who is so good.
Mel
This is great for me because I was watching an old show called the White Princess.
Taylor Antrim
Oh yeah, yeah, totally.
Mel
With Jodie Cobra.
Taylor Antrim
Yeah. Anyway, I have one more for you, Chloe.
Chloe
Okay.
Taylor Antrim
I am not a Star wars nerd by any stretch. I grew up with the original movies. I watched them like every other self respecting boy in the 80s. But I'm here to. Don't pay attention to any of the expansion universe series, Disney shows, all of that, except one. And the first season was called Andor and it came out in 2022. Second season of Andor is coming out next month in April. It's created by Tony Gilroy, he of Michael Clayton. This show, it's written like a spy drama. It just happens to be set on like planet Andor. It's so good. Everyone who's watched this has said, oh, you're right. This is like a really mature, interesting show. It's got Diego Luna in it, Stellan Skarsgrd, Fiona Shaw, Denise Goff. I really recommend it. You guys gotta watch it.
Chloe
You know what I'm excited about is Deli Boys.
Taylor Antrim
That's out now.
Chloe
I know it just came out. I haven't watched it yet cause I was away. But I'm very excited to. It's created by Abdullah Saeed, who is a comedian and follows two Pakistani American brothers whose lives take an unexpected turn when they find out where their father's business dealings really lie. But it's very funny and so that is something I'm excited to watch. And obviously agatha Christie toward zero.
Taylor Antrim
When does that come out though?
Chloe
Mid April. April 16th maybe.
Taylor Antrim
Put it on the calendar.
Chloe
Yeah, yeah, it's like an alert goes off.
Mel
Yeah, he's gone home for the day.
Taylor Antrim
That's on Britbox too, which is like our low key favorite streamer.
Mel
I love Britbox.
Taylor Antrim
No ads.
Chloe
Okay, Taylor, tell us about what movies we're excited about.
Taylor Antrim
Well, Black Bag opens this Friday.
Chloe
Yeah, you were very bullish on Black.
Taylor Antrim
I'm bullish on Black Bag. So I'm a Soda Bird fan. Are you guys. Do you guys like Steven Soda?
Chloe
Yes, I do.
Taylor Antrim
I mean, he's made, like, 32 movies at this point, so that's something I like about him, is how prolific he is. And like, last year we had a really cool movie called Presence that was a ghost story that he directed. Now we have this, like, fun chamber espionage drama called Black Bag with, like, none other than Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett as this kind of, like, married couple at the center of it. They're both British intelligence spies, and they basically suspect each other of being in on a plot. It's all a little bit complex and hard to follow in some ways, but you don't care because it looks so good and moves so quickly, like 90 minutes.
Mel
It's very concise. I do appreciate the conciseness of the spy thriller.
Taylor Antrim
And everyone looks really good in it. Right. Isn't Cate Blanchett wearing all.
Mel
You know, she's wearing a lot of Chloe. Yeah, yeah.
Chloe
What other movies are we excited about?
Taylor Antrim
So I have mixed feelings about this, but I do feel that I need to note the last of the Mission Impossible movies is coming out this May, the final reckoning. I'm also excited about this film called Bring Her Back, which is by.
Chloe
Yeah, what is that?
Taylor Antrim
That's by the directors, Danny and Michael Filippoo, who had, like, a real hit horror movie with a movie called Talk to Me that was out in 2022. And the trailer for this one looks super scary. And it stars Sally Hawkins, who we all love. And I think this is gonna be. I mean, Talk to Me was one of the, like, hits of that summer. Cause it was kind of a smaller film that, like, built a real buzz. And so there are a lot of people who are excited about this movie. And then one more in June. Wes Anderson returns. So where are we on Wes Anders? I love.
Mel
I love always.
Taylor Antrim
Okay, well, this one's called the Phoenician Scheme. It is also has. I mean, he doesn't really release many details about his plots or all ensemble casts like this one is, too. But apparently it has a kind of espionage plot line. And it stars.
Mel
I love espionage. So in the pro column so far.
Taylor Antrim
Yeah. And it stars Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson and a whole host of other people that we love. So I'm looking forward to that in June.
Chloe
Okay. I want to know books. Anything we're excited about, book wise.
Taylor Antrim
I do have a book I think you'd like.
Chloe
Okay.
Taylor Antrim
Okay. It's the first novel. I just read it. It's by I didn't know this writer at all, but her name's Dara Farr, and the book is called Bombshell, and it's set in Corsica in the 1990s.
Chloe
Okay.
Taylor Antrim
And it stars a kind of teenage Parisian girl who pulls a Patty Hearst and she gets kidnapped by a terrorist gang of nationalists, young and sort of falls in with them, reads a bunch of Marx fennel in captivity and becomes a terrorist herself. And it's a total, like, page turner and kind of ridiculous in some places. But, like, I really loved it. And all of the descriptions of corsica in the 90s. Fantastic. So I'm excited about that. Edward St. Aubyn has a new novel coming in June that I'm excited about.
Chloe
I love him.
Taylor Antrim
Yes. And Joyce Carol Oates, who's written like a million novels, but she has a really big one called Fox coming in June, which is set at a boarding school. And it's sort of a suspense novel that I'm desperate to. So there's some things for you to read.
Chloe
I'm reading Chimamanda's book because I was halfway through when we interviewed her, and now I'm committed. I'm excited. I'm enjoying it.
Mel
Yeah.
Taylor Antrim
Are you enjoying it? Dream Count, it's called. Right.
Chloe
Dream Count.
Mel
First novel since Americana.
Chloe
Yeah.
Taylor Antrim
Yeah.
Chloe
I also, there's a lot of. A couple of exhibitions coming out that I'm excited about. Sergeant in Paris is coming at the Met with the amazing Portrait of Madame X, which I feel like is exciting to see in person. And the Frick is finally reopening with their Annabelle Sullivan. I'm very excited about that redesign. Me, too. There's a whole new room of Goya and Degas drawings, and it's a whole sort of reimagining of the space Rasheed Johnson retrospective at Guggenheim, which is, I think, the biggest of his work. And I can't wait for the Jane Austen at 250th anniversary at the Morgan Library.
Mel
I love a show at the Morgan Library.
Chloe
Oh, I mean, too.
Taylor Antrim
Your Morgan Library punch card must just.
Chloe
Be, like, off the charts.
Taylor Antrim
Off the charts. They're like, come on back.
Chloe
Come on back.
Mel
Fast tracker.
Taylor Antrim
How many times did you go to the A.A. milne exhibition at the Mill?
Chloe
Is it Milne? I didn't say Milne.
Ad Sponsor
I don't know.
Chloe
I'm just saying.
Taylor Antrim
How many times did you go to the AA Milne of Winnie the Pooh at the Morgan Library?
Chloe
I only went once, but I loved The Beatrix Potter 1 and the Morris Endeavor. Great children's book homages at the Morgan.
Mel
Beatrix Potter really, really spoke to me.
Chloe
Okay. Theater recommendations. A lot of spring theater happening.
Mel
Yes.
Taylor Antrim
Oh, my God. It's like theater. Too much theater. Literally too much theater going on right now.
Chloe
We have to cover it. Always you're feeling.
Mel
Yeah, yeah.
Chloe
Oh, my God.
Mel
Taylor's like, not one more of these.
Taylor Antrim
Othello over here. Glengarry Glen Ross over there. It's like too much stuff. Too much stuff.
Chloe
It is a big, like, big male star moment on Broadway and the prices are aligning. Marlee Marius this morning tried to get Othello tickets for her parents and was quoted $899 per ticket.
Mel
Holy moly.
Chloe
Which I think is just criminal. But yes, I think that's supposed to be major. And then purpose. The new Brandon Jacob Jenkins.
Taylor Antrim
I'm excited about that.
Chloe
We're all going to see that. And talking to him for the pod, which I'm very excited about. And Chloe Sharma went to see Vanya with Andrew Scott last night and she said it was life changing.
Taylor Antrim

The Run-Through with Vogue: Episode Summary
Episode Title: Fashion Month Takeaways, Met Gala Predictions, Movie Recs, and More!
Release Date: March 13, 2025
Hosts: Chloe, Mel, and Taylor Antrim
1. Vogue's April Cover: Gigi Hadid in 1920s Fantasia
The episode kicks off with an in-depth discussion about Vogue's stunning April cover featuring Gigi Hadid. Shot by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz and styled by Alex, the cover embodies a 1920s fantasia theme, seamlessly blending vintage aesthetics with modern elegance.
Mel shares behind-the-scenes insights:
"I'm really happy I wasn't on set because apparently they shot outside in the Bronx with no heaters. So it was a pretty extreme shoot day. And Gigi's a really good sport." [01:47]
Taylor elaborates on the creative dichotomy:
"Between Willow and me, we kind of have the two sides of this story. So I'm responsible for editing the personal side. And then you are right in there with the creation of this, like, total fantasia that Annie Leibovitz and Alex put together for the shoot." [02:21]
The team delves into the inspiration behind the shoot, highlighting the confluence of vintage and 1920s influences that shaped the narrative. Gigi's transformation into Marianne Morehouse, America's first supermodel married to poet E.E. Cummings, underscores the thematic depth of the cover.
Notable Quote:
"Annie knows what she's doing, and she's like, that's a reference to a very specific Steichen image. And so you feel like you're working for the Smithsonian or something like that." – Mel [04:27]
2. Vintage Markets: Vogue's Upcoming Events
Building on the vintage theme, Vogue is set to host vintage markets in New York and London. These events will feature an array of vintage pieces donated by celebrity models, Vogue staff, and designers. Proceeds from the New York market will benefit victims of the Los Angeles fires.
Mel highlights a personal connection:
"Levi's has generously donated a rack of vintage denim, which to me is honestly like the highlight because I love vintage Levi's and actually one of the things I lost in the fires was two pairs of my favorite vintage Levi's from when I was a teenager." [08:00]
Chloe provides logistical details:
"You buy tickets on the Vogue app." [08:26]
3. Paris Fashion Week: Highlights and Trends
The hosts recap the recently concluded Paris Fashion Week, sharing their favorite shows and standout moments.
Chloe expresses enthusiasm for unconventional designs:
"I liked the sort of the kookier shows that felt like they just went for it... like, what's happening here? A model was walking down wearing a viola. Another model was wearing a drum as a skirt." [10:51]
Mel discusses the impact of new designers:
"Nikova is one of the big new young French designers who's really making a stamp on Paris Fashion Week and bringing a little youthful end to a week that was a little..." [11:15]
Taylor draws parallels between fashion and team dynamics:
"There's so much office. Office looks, some of which I do hope to not see in my own office thing, because as a manager, I think we'd have to have conversations..." [12:59]
Key trends from the week include subversive workwear, bold belts, and a resurgence of feminine energy led by female designers. The discussion also touches on the excitement surrounding the May issue, which will feature extensive jewelry and the upcoming Met Gala.
Notable Quote:
"It was like everybody has their fantasy football teams, but it's actually that it's fantasy fashion teams." – Taylor Antrim [15:42]
4. May Issue and Met Gala Predictions
The conversation shifts to anticipations for Vogue's May issue, highlighting the focus on jewelry and tailoring inspired by the upcoming Met Gala's "Superfine" exhibition dedicated to menswear.
Mel shares her excitement:
"I think we're gonna see some really wonderful pieces that we haven't really seen before or who have been in archives for the Met." [16:02]
Taylor emphasizes the issue's themes:
"So it's a huge tailoring moment in the issue with Superfine, which is the Costume Institute exhibition that the Met Gala is opening being dedicated to menswear and tailoring." [16:40]
The hosts anticipate a blend of classic and archival jewelry pieces, coupled with innovative tailoring, setting the stage for a dynamic Met Gala celebration.
