Chloe Mel
This is the run through. I'm Chloe Mel.
Geminati
And I'm Geminati.
Chloe Mel
And it is actually. This is truly one of my favorite times of the year. The sort of the frison of excitement when it starts getting warm out but when you also want to go inside and see cultural things and movies, plays, concerts, etc.
Sponsor Voice
Around.
Chloe Mel
All right, I want to hear about the movies of the summer. I saw the Materials last night and I actually really enjoyed it. There were some mixed feelings around our office. I thought it was such a fun watch some thought provoking questions about love and matchmaking, math and Pedro Pascal is Jose. I spent the whole time trying to remember which way was the right way to say Pedro and which way was the way that Laia said it when you made fun of her. Was it Pedro was the wrong way or Pedro is the wrong way?
Jose
Pedro is the right way. Pedro is the anglicism, if you will, the gringoism.
Chloe Mel
Can we say gringo? Whatever. We can cut that.
Jose
I can. I don't know if we can actually.
Chloe Mel
Anyway, Pedro Pascal was fantastic and Chris Evans was good. I just, I had. I thought it was a really. I was extremely charmed throughout the whole thing.
Jose
I love that. I love a rom com.
Chloe Mel
It's true. And it's sort of like what is. What is a rom com in 2025? Because it has sort of a dark understory, but it feels. The themes it deals with I thought were really smart and well handled. Is Celine's song the nor ephron of our age? Dun dun.
Jose
Well, we also need to talk about like the love triangle and the Celine song of it all, which I am obsessed with.
Radhika Seth
And her husband loves Challengers.
Jose
Love triangle and the husband, of course, who wrote Challengers.
Radhika Seth
Yeah, I want to know what. I need a big juicy profile of those two and. And what they get up to.
Jose
Because I know, right?
Radhika Seth
It's a running theme in both of their work.
Geminati
I think Dakota Johnson is also underrated as a comedian.
Jose
I agree.
Geminati
I think she's such a good actress and I. And I think she's such a good comedic actress and I think. I mean I haven't seen it, but I imagine that there are lots of kind of charming, funny moments in this film. I Cannot wait to see it. It's definitely on my list of must see films this summer.
Radhika Seth
I love the trailer with the like, with the old school voiceover. That was like a proper 90s rom com trailer. I felt like a yagua for decades. Yeah, bring back the voiceover.
Jose
Bring back the voiceover. And the Materialist is actually on a list we are calling the He's Hot list of movies for the summer. Ooh, when I say we, mostly me.
Radhika Seth
Tell us more.
Jose
Tell us more.
Chloe Mel
What other movies are hot this summer, Jose?
Jose
Well, it's. I don't know if the movies are hot, but they are hot in them. You know what I mean? So that's kind of what I'm saying. But you know, all the sort of like quote unquote boy movies. So, like, there's a new Superman coming this summer. I love Nicholas Hoult. Nicholas Hoult, bald as Lex Luthor. I don't think anyone was expecting to be crushing over Lex Luthor anytime soon, but here we are. Jonathan Bailey is in the new Jurassic park movie. I kind of love a dinosaur.
Chloe Mel
I do, too.
Jose
And I love a Jonathan Bailey. So, you know, so it's. I'm winning already. And then of course, you have Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal, which is fab. And then you have Pedro again for the Fantastic. The new Fantastic Four. So we kind of love that. We do love a sort of a blockbuster.
Geminati
A blockbuster, you know, well, it was.
Chloe Mel
A sort of a.
Jose
It's an integral part of the summer.
Chloe Mel
You know, it was a hunk summit at Cannes.
Jose
It really was a hunk summit.
Radhika Seth
So, yes, highbrow, but I was really enjoying our wonderful British folk colleague Radhika Seth's coverage of all the movies from Cannes. And the one that I really want to see is Sentimental Value, the new Me Too.
Jose
What, the entry to film?
Geminati
Yeah.
Radhika Seth
Let go, Renate.
Geminati
Oh, my God. The best. The worst person in the world. She was the star.
Radhika Seth
I love that movie.
Geminati
Norwegian movie.
Jose
And she was so amazing.
Geminati
I just remember.
Radhika Seth
And it looks really funny as well.
Geminati
Yeah, yeah. I remember being in the theater after that film and just like being completely immobile. Like I couldn't move. It moved me so much. And Radhika was saying that she had the same experience with Sentimental Value where she. She was just crying after it. She said it was so powerful. There's no release date on it yet, so I don't know if we'll get to enjoy it this summer, but I do think it's the pick. And she's an incredible actress. And I think this will kind of propel her to a much more global audience because I think this is much more going to be. Have much more of a wide appeal. But the worst person in the world. I mean, it got. It got Oscar, but did it get Oscar. It got an Oscar nom.
Radhika Seth
Yeah. I think it got a best for best international film.
Jose
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Radhika Seth
But she was getting a lot of buzz for best actress and didn't get the nom. But I think this time around, she's in with a. With a strong chance. I say, having not seen the movie. But.
Chloe Mel
And Elle Fanning to the photo call for the film was wearing a little.
Sponsor Voice
Graphic tee that was made by a.
Chloe Mel
High schooler that said walking trio summer. So there you go. Who needs brat?
Radhika Seth
I need one of those tee shots. They need to start selling them.
Jose
We should all wear them to watch the movie.
Geminati
What are we seeing about TV shows?
Jose
And just like that. Mm.
Chloe Mel
And just like that. We're onto TV shows.
Jose
Everyone is unconvinced.
Radhika Seth
I mean, I watched the first episode and I was in hook, line and sinker. I mean, there are some seriously unhinged outfits that carries ludicrously capacious hat. And I don't know. It was. It's truly deranged what they're dressing them in. But I'm here for it. And I also.
Jose
I love.
Radhika Seth
I want more Seema. Seema is my icon. Her smoking.
Jose
Oh, my God. Seema is the one. Seema is. Seema is very Sex in the city. You know what I mean? Like, she's sort of like, she would be friends with Samantha is sort of what I'm thinking. But I just. I love. And just like that, I love my girls. Bring back my girls.
Radhika Seth
I will say the one thing is when I'm watching the show, I'm like, I don't remember a single thing that happened the last season.
Chloe Mel
But that doesn't matter.
Radhika Seth
Curtail my enjoyment of it exactly. At all.
Jose
The only part of it that I remember is that Carrie now has a cat named Shu.
Chloe Mel
That I remember too.
Jose
You know, why not? But that's the thing about it. It's like, that's the kind of show that I sometimes live for. Like a show where nothing happen happens.
Chloe Mel
I couldn't help but wonder, is this the kind of show I need?
Jose
Exactly. Speaking of shows where nothing happens, my favorite show is back this summer. The Gilded Age. The Gilded Age. My favorite show in the world.
Radhika Seth
You know, have they got the opera House yet? Isn't that like the main plot point?
Chloe Mel
That was the cliffhanger finale last season.
Jose
But this is. This is the gag about that show, right? It's like, it's a show where everyone is hot. Everyone looks amazing in sort of all of these insane period clothing. You have Meryl Streep's daughter, who's pretty fat. You have Morgan Spector who's like, huge biceps, kind of like defy period clothing. I'm like, no one was eating that much protein during the gilded Age. But, like, go off.
Chloe Mel
Gilded Age is not protein chic.
Jose
Absolutely not. Oh, my God. Go read my story now on vogue.com. but I swear to God, the show is amazing because it's, like, historically accurate, but also not at all.
Geminati
And.
Jose
And it's like, yeah, it's like one entire episode is dedicated to this one guy who works in one of the homes building a clock, you know, and like, will he do it? Will he get the little money? I love it. I think it's great, actually.
Radhika Seth
Do you know what? It should be a Carrie Coon summer. That's who I want to be. That is a Cary Coon summer dominating cultural force.
Chloe Mel
There we go.
Jose
She should own part of Max because she's the reason why I subscribe. Well, now it's HBO again.

I'm really looking forward to actually Lena Dunham's new show too much. It's all kind of based on her life that she co wrote with her her husband and it's her life her big move to London. I don't know if you read her really touching story in New Yorker about breaking up with New York.
Chloe Mel
So I loved it.
Geminati
Yeah so this basically this show which I've seen a I've seen snippets of and super excited to see picks up where she leave where you kind of where you leave her off in the story in London based on her big lover story with and it has a really stellar cast. Emirate is in it. Lena Dunham's dog is in it. It's gonna be really fun.
Radhika Seth
I'm excited for that Alter is playing the lead. Right. I love she steals every scene and hacks and I'm excited to see her have her like leading lady moment.
Chloe Mel
I'm also will be watching the Smurfs movie in theaters when it comes out. Oh I know that everyone do tell.
Jose
Us how it is but.
Radhika Seth
I won't be going out of my way. I'm.
Jose
I will be watching however listen the Rihanna song didn't really got me there but you know what if you play it at the club maybe I'll maybe I'll popped it but can we discuss Freakier Friday? I will be sad for Freakier Friday. Maybe I will be sat alone but I will be sad.
Chloe Mel
People are very excited.
Jose
Listen me and Lindsay Lohan I will show up to the opening of an envelope for Lindsay. I will watch her. I will watch her watch paint dry. She's also wearing Christopher John Rogers on the poster of the movie. So I'm wearing.
Geminati
Oh is she?
Jose
Yeah, that's my sister. Like yeah, we love exactly.
Radhika Seth
I'm also ready. Did anybody see Megan? Because I'm ready for Megan 2.0.
Jose
Megan 2.0. I love I also love Megan on social media like Megan official account On X, having beef with, like, Chucky is.
Radhika Seth
Oh, I don't think I follow that. I've got to get into it.
Jose
It's so funny. I really want to watch Final Destination Bloodlines.
Radhika Seth
Yeah, maybe it's a. What Horror movie summer.
Jose
No, I kid you. Okay, so, like, yesterday I saw this TikTok that Charli XCX posted, and she was talking about Final Destination Bloodlines, about how Final Destination is this franchise where hot people die. And she was like, we should do one about just it girls. And it's like, me, Rachel Sennett. I don't remember who else she said, but I was like, yeah. Like, actually, I just. I just, you know, I love a Final Destination movie that will make me not want to go anywhere for, like a month.
Radhika Seth
I will say as well, those, like, the scenarios in which people die in those movies have really stuck with me, like, interesting. If I'm driving. If I'm driving behind a truck that has anything sort of loose in the back, I'm like, I'm moving lanes. I never go in a sunbed ever. Because of those movies.
Jose
It's like, I do not.
Radhika Seth
They really have lodged themselves or necklaces.
Jose
Into a frontal cortex. Very much same. They have made me a much more careful person.
Chloe Mel
All right, ladies, is it Lord Summer or not?
Jose
I. I love Lord with all of my heart. I think people just don't get it. I think Lord is usually ahead when she did solar power, and Liam is just kind of like, you know what? I'm just going to let her speak. And I appreciate that. So go ahead and make yourself, Liam. I'm saying, like, I think when Lorde released all her power, it's really funny because when, like, Lord and I are basically the same age, I think she's like, one year younger than me. So, like, whenever she was angsty as a teenager, I was angsty as a teenager. And then when she really saw her power, I was like, oh, my God. Lord and I are both happy now again. So that was really cute. But I do think she sort of released this album about being, like, vibey and chill and, you know, really within your, like, in comfortable with yourself and no one was there yet. And then years later, you have, like, a radical optimism moment with Dua Lipa, and everyone's like, yes. And I'm like, we were there. So that's my take. I do think it'll be a Lord summer. I think she's been brilliant at making people talk about her. Like, it's been really fascinating. Sort of watch her every time she Sort of does something. People have so many questions about it, whether it's like her talking about her gender identity, her talking about, you know, whatever it is bar, like wait. And I just think that's a good.
Radhika Seth
Pop star, you know, And I'm sort of intrigued by. I feel like every one of her albums has either been a sort of. It's had some kind of concept surrounding it or the way she writes lyrics. It's very much like steeped in metaphor and it's very poetic. And it seems like what she's going for this time around is something really sort of raw and quite frank lyrically. And I'm sort of curious to see what she does with that choma.
Chloe Mel
You are going to the tour of the summer. Tell us your Cowboy Carter outfit.
Geminati
Oh, I haven't got it planned yet, but I've been sort of keenly watching everyone on Instagram with their looks. So I guess I'm gonna have to find something.
Chloe Mel
Your enthusiasm Red.
Geminati
I didn't. It's so bad. I think I was more of an observer at the Renaissance tour too, because I didn't actually. Maybe I did wear something more disco y but not silver. I didn't wear like head to toe silver. But I do love, I like watching the fans. I love watching the fans. I have a couple of shows I'm excited about. Georgia Smith is playing early next month too, which I'm excited about. She has a few days. She's fab and I recently saw her at Ronnie Scott's which was such a treat cuz. So great seeing an artist in such a small space. But it'll be great to see her kind of take up a, a bigger venue too. And then I'm super excited for Kendrick and Scissors to come to London. I, I, I, I have seen videos of the MetLife Stadium outside the MetLife Stadium and, and everybody singing in unison to they're not like us. And it's just incredible. So I can't imagine what it's going to be like because I just can't imagine like a stadium full of people doing. Yeah. Singing in unison to this crazy song that was obviously the song of 2024. I don't know who you guys are excited to see in, in concert this, this summer.
Jose
I, well, I, I was, I'm devastated because I was supposed to go to Cowboy Carter with my friends last week in New York because we went together to Renaissance, but I couldn't go because I'm in my little immigration hiatus. But I'll be back. Yeah. So I couldn't go oh no. But I did see Lady Gaga in Mexico City when I was there for a vocal moment. That was.
Radhika Seth
What were the crowds like?
Jose
The crowd was amazing. I mean listen, like I love Lady Gaga. That is no secret. At the office, this like I went to the Chromatica Ball. Like that was great. But mayhem is like a completely different experience. But also like Latin American fans in general are very committed in concerts because we don't have a lot of artists that sort of like really lock in and like take the same quality of tour to our cities as they do elsewhere in the world. So like everyone was so thrilled in Mexico. I kid you not. The looks were like insane. Like for a minute I was like should I be like shooting this street style on my phone? I was like should I be like on assignment? Like it was crazy. So I'm really excited. I know. And then I was like I'm not working but I still do. But yeah, I mean that was crazy. Obviously the real concert that she did on the beach was insane.
Radhika Seth
I watched some of the clips of her performing at Coachella and I also went to see the Chromatica Ball and she looks so much more happy to be on stage and just really giving it her all. Like the choreo, the singing, the vocals, it's like. It's pretty astonishing really. Like it's amazing reminder of what an incredible performer she is and how she.
Jose
Got to the position exactly to where she is.
Chloe Mel
You know what I'm excited about and it's extremely mayhem Ball adjacent is Gustavo Dudamel is coming for a few weeks to New York from LA before he next year takes up full residency at the New York Phil. And he is playing at the summer series in Central Park. And I. I love these New York feels concerts that they do in Central Park. It is such a like er, New York experience in the summer. And that's next week and I'm very excited. There's Tchaikovsky, there's Stravinsky. Everything's happening for Dudamont. Everything's coming up Dudamount.
Jose
It's gonna be so major. And then Miley's Something Beautiful is coming out.
Radhika Seth
I'm super excited for that one actually. She's been working with some really interesting people on it. My. One of my favorite bands always co wrote one of the songs.
Jose
Oh really Love. Yeah, I just love Miley. I think Miley just makes some really good music. I love that she's just, she's just doing Miley, to quote one of her own songs. But I just, you know, I Love to hear. She looks incredible. She's wearing the best fashion, the best.
Radhika Seth
Archive, lots of amazing Mugler.
Jose
Alaia Mugler. I love that she made a visual album just to wear the things.
Radhika Seth
Yeah, I think it's great because when someone says they're doing a visual album, I sort of assume that it's gonna be some. They're doing lemonade, high concept, you know, but it's just her looking fabulous and couture and amazing archival dresses.
Chloe Mel
They pulled the run through. Will be back in just a moment. And we're back. All right, team, what are we reading?
Jose
What are we reading?
Chloe Mel
I have been really deep into male mogul memoir Spring, which is Barry Diddler, Graydon Carter, Keith McNally. It's been a real big BD memoir spring, and now it's moving into a mom memoir summer. Amanda Hess wrote this really good book called Second Life. She's a tech reporter for the New York Times and it's about her sort of pregnancy and early motherhood being sort of under the gaze of the algorithm and how entwined motherhood has become with digital apparatuses. But it's very good and I thought a sort of interesting take on something we've all read and thought a lot about. And Molly Zhang Fast's memoir about her mother, Erika Jeong, how to Lose youe Mother, is coming out in a few weeks and people are very excited about that. I also just finished a galley of my friend Mike Grimbaum's excellent book about Conde Nast empire of the elites. And it is so juicy and fun and such. Just a delightful and fascinating account of an anthropological study of sort of American culture in the 80s and 90s through the lens of Conde Nast. So I'm really excited for people to read that. That's coming out in. I also I'm a big Edward St. Aubyn Patrick Melrose devotee, so I love him. His new book Parallel Lines comes out.
Radhika Seth
Parallel Lines.
Chloe Mel
Yeah. And I was kind of intrigued by the Ron Chernow Mark Twain biography, but then it got such a mean review in the Times. I was sort of piqued my interest more. But yeah, that's my list of the.
Radhika Seth
Moment if you want a fun beach read this summer. I just finished a book that I really enjoyed by. I think she's a first book, her first novel, she's called Darrow Farr and it's called the Bombshell and it's about this kind of 17 year old French politician's daughter in Corsica in the 90s who has this very sort of pampered privileged existence, but then gets kidnapped by a kind of separatist independence group and becomes radicalized. But it's also very funny, and it's all written from her perspective, and it has a lot of interesting things to say about, you know, performative politics and charisma and image and how we. I don't know how we choose our leaders and the sort of politicians that we're drawn to and the political figures that we're drawn to, I guess. But it's also really fun. It's honestly, it's a beach read. It's a page turner. I had a great time with it.
Chloe Mel
Wait, Jose, what are you reading?
Jose
What am I reading? I am reading Tommy Dorfen's memoir.
Chloe Mel
Oh. Which we just excerpted on it.
Jose
Yes, it came out this week. It is a really. I'm taking my time with it, but it's a. It's been. It's been a really beautiful read, sort of as, like, I only recently gotten to know Tommy. So it's been really interesting to sort of read it in her words, but sort of her contextualizing her life over the past sort of decade. Talk about her transition, addiction, marriage, divorce, all of these things has just been really beautiful and just really cathartic in a sort of way. It's written like a very. Like the way she will talk to you. So I think that's really beautiful. And I am also reading Robin Givon's Virgil Upload book.
Geminati
Oh, how's that?
Jose
It is a very interesting book. So far, I think was really. I've always loved her voice as a critic. I think she's always been very fair and very honest and very nuanced, and this book does exactly that. Except that what is really interesting about it, too, is that she's so acutely aware that she's not talking to just fashion people. She's talking about sort of like the mainstream culture at large, who's been also really fascinated and obsessed with Virgil's legacy. So she's like. She's been very interestingly balancing the. You know, Virgil became iconic because of this, and he made an impact in fashion because the way he approached it, but also, like, collectively, fashion didn't always love the designs. And this is also why. And, like, sort of finding the balance between those two truths is really interesting and something I think people haven't necessarily done very eloquently since his passing. So it's a really great one. I do recommend it, Liam.
Chloe Mel
Art, theater. Art and theater that you're seeing.
Radhika Seth
Well, I mean, I've seen Two really amazing exhibitions fairly recently, and I believe they're both running all through the summer. But the first one was sort of an exhibition about Leigh Bowery at the Tate Modern in London. And if you're in London anytime this summer, I would urge you to go and see it because I don't know how familiar you are with Lee, but he was this sort of amazing. I think he was born in Australia, but he was this kind of underground legend who died of AIDS in the 90s and was this sort of performance artist, slash club kid in the kind of post New romantic era of 1980s London. And the show is. It's a real kind of eclectic mix of objects and artworks and clothes as well. Lots of the amazing Mr. Pearl corsets that he used to wear. And he was amused to Lucian Freud. So there are some of his kind of paintings of him and videos of his collaborations with the amazing choreographer Michael Clark. It's a really special show and also has a strong fashion link. Was very much an inspiration for Galliano and McQueen. And it's, yeah, really worth seeing if you're in town. And then I also saw a couple of weeks ago the David Hockney retrospective at the Fondation Louis Vuitton, which was really special as well. I can't wait to see paintings from. Are you gonna. Are you gonna be able to catch it soon?
Geminati
I don't know. It's always hard to fit in the Fondation when you're in Paris for.
Radhika Seth
I know it's a bit of a.
Geminati
Shaft, first world problems, but I've heard so much about it and I'm a huge David Hockney fan. I just love, love his work. So that would definitely be on my list. As well as Leigh Barry. Those are the two that I'm still wanting to see this summer.
Chloe Mel
I'm going to see the Sergeant today.
Radhika Seth
Oh, nice.
Chloe Mel
The Sargent show at the Met with Madame X. It's been so crowded and so I'm finally going for a little tour this evening and I'm so excited because I'm such a sucker for Sargent. And I'm also excited for the Jane Austen exhibit at the Morgan Library. One thing about me, I'm consistent. And also we've talked about the Frick reopening a lot. But I will say that Vladimir Kanevsky, the porcelain artist who made the beautiful flowers that are all over the museum for its reopening, the Vladimir florals are only there until October and they really are exquisite works of art. So I recommend everyone go before they are whisked away.
Geminati
Oh, I Have one more. I have one. One more exhibit in London that I'm dying to see, which is the Michaela year with Dan. She's an incredible painter. We covered the magazine recently. Jack Davidson shot her and the portraits are just so beautiful. And I haven't seen her work up close. And she's showing at Hauser and Wurf until. Until. Until August, so I have some time. But I feel like here, as far as theatre, everybody's talking about Evita, about Jamie Lloyd's Evita. Rachel. Rachel Ziegler will be Eva Peron. We're all super excited. That's going to be kind of an amazing production. I think it opens in June or July. Let's see. But that feels like what everyone. That feels like. That definitely feels like the hottest ticket this summer. Well, I feel like we can't. We can't do it. We have to talk about the fashion because it's. There are still several debuts left that are coming up. I'm going to hand it over to you, Jose, because I feel like you're going to give us a full rundown of what we can expect.
Jose
Let's do it. So, obviously this has been a really transformational year and a half for fashion, but I do, like, we're finally sort of settled in terms of designers shifting and moving around. Most of the debuts are for September, but the summer is a little promising, I will say. So during menswear in Paris, late June, I think it's for the 27th, is Jonathan Anderson's first collection at Dior for Dior Men. So that'll be fascinating. I think there's a lot of expectations about what that can look like or that should look like. So everyone's really curious about that and I think.
Geminati
Don't you think, too. Sorry to interrupt, Jose. I feel like it would be great to sort of give some background because Jonathan started with menswear, so it's kind of nice that he's coming full circle, no?
Jose
Yeah, I agree. I mean, I think it's interesting. Like, I think Jonathan is a very influential designer in culture, but I think as it pertains to fashion specifically, he is a very influential menswear designer. So I think it'll be interesting to sort of. Dior Men has always, you know, used to be Dior Homme before Kim Jones, but it's always been a very interesting kind of. Of experimental ground for menswear. It's always taken the shape of whatever designer is running it. You know, when Eddie Slimond was doing it, it was, you know, famously all about the skinny jeans, spring 2005, famous show about his skinny jeans. But I do think it's really interesting because it doesn't necessarily have a lot of. A lot of the Dior house coats, like the new look, the bar jacket. All these things don't necessarily apply to menswear as much or are not known in culture as part of menswear. That it is a place where you can do a lot. So that'll be really interesting to see.
Radhika Seth
I feel like Dior Homme and the womenswear collections have always. They felt very siloed. They've always sort of operated within their own worlds. And it'll be interesting to see how Jonathan, you know, finds a synergy there and brings them together to create a 360 degree Dior wardrobe.
Jose
Exactly. I think, you know, this will be the first time that literally since Mr. Dior, I think that there is only one designer at the helm of all of menswear couture and ready to wear, and that will be Jonathan Anderson. Another thing that will be really interesting for the summer is Glenn Martens debut for Margiela is going to be a couture collection, which is also, interestingly, full circle because, you know, Galliano, John Galliano. Swan Song at Margiela was the couture show seen around the world, spring 2024 from last January. So it'll be interesting to see Glenn take on Margiela from couture first and.
Geminati
And he'll be doing H and M later in the year. So it'll be a real high low year for him, won't he? Isn't he the next collaborator? I mean, I was gonna ask you about collabs. He's the next H and M. Yeah.
Radhika Seth
It'S a guy that can do both.
Jose
Exactly. You know, contains multitudes. It is interesting that you mentioned that, Shoa, because, you know, ever since Karl Lagerfeld passed, everyone was like, who's the next Carl? Yeah, I was gonna say, you know, and famously. Exactly. He was the first H and M collaboration in terms of designers. So that'll be really. It is interesting to sort of contextualize Glenn as a designer and culture as this guy who's giving you, like, Diesel, Julia Fox, Tom of Finland, all of the things. But at the same time, he's giving you, like, Y project or Margiela deep cuts. Right. So that's exciting.
Radhika Seth
And the way that he worked with, like, denim at Diesel was, you know, from a technical perspective, so extraordinary. I'm very excited to see what he does with a couture atelier at his fingertips. You know, I think we might be in for some really amazing surprises.
Geminati
Well, I mean, I think we've had a taste from what he did at Jean Paul Gaultier. I think he was definitely one of the strongest, of course, collaborators. So we have. We've had a little. We have a. We've had a sense, but yeah, and.
Radhika Seth
A mouse bouche, if you will.
Geminati
An amuse bouche. Exactly. And speaking of co. There's also. Isn't. Isn't Demna doing his last.
Jose
It is, it is. So Demna's last collection. Yep. Dema's last collection for Balenciaga will be a couture collection as well. Also really interesting because he was the designer that brought. Well, Balenciaga brought couture back since Cristobal Balasiaga's years with Demna. So it'll be. It is really interesting that his last sort of effort will be a couture collection. So that's that. Like it. It is sort of like an interesting summer of what will happen. You know, I think Glenn and Jonathan specifically are designers that have helped set kind of the pace and the tone and the mood of the. Of fashion the last couple years, especially the last year. So having them sort of go first before, ahead of September is. Is really interesting.
Radhika Seth
And I feel for you and all of our beloved colleagues on Vogue Runway with the deluge of, like, debuts that's gonna happen in September, so at least they're spreading out a little bit. And you won't be. So you're gonna have a couple. You can get ahead of a few stories.
Geminati
September to remember, guys.
Jose
Exactly.
Radhika Seth
September to remember.
Jose
As Kandy Pratt's prize used to say, September is the January of fashion. Wait, there's one more, actually. Michael Ryder at Celine.
Radhika Seth
Yes, I'm really excited for that one.
Chloe Mel
He's so handsome.
Jose
So handsome.
Radhika Seth
That's why you're excited.
Jose
Like one of the best dressed men in New York when he used to live here. But his debut is scheduled for the day before couture, so July 6th. That'll be really interesting because I think, you know, he. His appointment was announced in October of 2024. I think, like, it's been. It's been a minute. And it's the one person we haven't heard anything about. Like, all of the other designers have placed, you know, Sara Bird undressed, Timothy Chalamet.
Chloe Mel
It's true.
Jose
Exactly. You know, everyone sort of gave you like an amuse bouche. Everyone tried to give you, like, a little tease. And he's sort of been fully Zipped. Just working on it. So I think it'll be, is it.
Radhika Seth
A menswear show or a co ed show that's happening?
Jose
It is, I believe, a co ed show. We actually don't have a lot of information about it. But you know, Eddie Zimon, when he was at Celine, he sort of like took them out of the fashion calendar and started he was showing doing shows right before, like right in between menswear and couture. And then he started doing the video. So, like, you know, it's interesting that they're sort of following that cadence, at least for now. I do think it's smart for these designers to sort of stage their debuts during the summer instead of September because they get a little more attention. So I don't know, you know, they have to share the.
Chloe Mel
No one likes to share their toys.
Jose
Exactly. They have to share less. They have to share the spotlight a little bit with less people, you know, so that'll be interesting. But it is an interesting summer for fashion, so we shall see.
Chloe Mel

Jose lauded "The Gilded Age" for its historical accuracy and engaging storytelling: "The show is amazing because it's like, historically accurate, but also not at all. Music enthusiasts among the hosts shared their excitement for upcoming releases and concerts. Chloe Mel and Geminati discussed Lorde's evolving musical style, with Radhika Seth intrigued by her raw and frank lyrical approach: "It seems like what she's going for this time around is something really sort of raw and quite frank lyrically" (15:45).
