Because this was something that I actually, like, struggled with most of my life, which was allowing other people to take care of me. I grew up in a very dysfunctional family. I'm just gonna be really blunt and vulnerable here. I did not receive a lot of protection from my mother, unfortunately. And I read a book about a year and a half ago that totally rocked me, to be honest. It's called Mother Hunger. I highly recommend it. It's a specific book for the mother daughter relationship. Listening to the book actually on Audible, and I was chopping potatoes. I was standing in my kitchen and I was chopping potatoes. I'll never forget this moment. And I'm listening to the book and the author says, little girls who didn't grow up with protection ended up becoming women who built cities. And I dropped my knife on the counter and I started bawling because I looked around my life and I was like, oh, my God, I have built my life so perfectly to never allow myself to feel unsafe ever again. And I have been praised for It. I have been celebrated for it. I have made a lot of money from it. I have hired people around me who, in my own subconscious mind, couldn't do the job that I really needed them to do because it was just this existential kink and affirmation that nobody could ever take care of me the way I could take care of myself. You guys, this shit's deep. And I'm calling myself out here in a way that I wasn't expecting to, but I need to just stand next to you all in full vulnerability that whether you had a dysfunctional relationship with your mom or not, women of this day and age have been conditioned to just do it all themselves. And I really want to talk about the horse as an animal and what it did to change humanity. As a metaphor here. Okay. You and women believe that being carried, like letting someone else or a handful of people carry them as being weak, as being passive, maybe being like a diva and asking too much of other people. But I will tell you that it's the opposite. It makes you so much lighter because you shift out of having your entire business, your entire life be effort based to actually sustainable. And sustainability is what we're all hungry. For now, you might need to really look at your hypercontrol issues, right? Because this is really about nervous system safety where your body cannot receive when it's bracing and it is capping your expansion. Because growing your wealth doesn't require you to feel more confident. It really doesn't, you guys. It requires you to feel safer. It requires you to put down the guards, the spears, the steel concrete walls that have built your city and let people in. Let people come in and take care of you. Now you can do this through people. Looking at your systems not as like rigidity and like boring operations, but as something that is an expression of your devotion to your highest, rested, most peaceful self. You have to learn how to let go, whether it's to a system or to a human being. I have now really trusted that I don't have to carry it all, that other people can protect me. I have intentionally put people around me, to be totally blunt, that aren't just strong team members but have maternal energy like some of them have maternal energy. Because I know I need to be taken care of at a totally different level than my mother was ever able to. And I love my mom and I have no anger towards her. I just have true sovereignty and self respect towards my own needs than I ever have before in my life. There is a difference in my reality today in this business that I've been running that is very busy. I have a big nice team now and I have a very full schedule. I have people in my business that I trust. I have people in my life that I trust that I know want to carry me. And this required me to dissolve so much of my own insecurity around this, my own ego around this, my own fear of being too much around this. And I relinquished to a large degree, I mean even though I'm still controlling in my own right, I've let a lot of people in and I've created muscle memory of loosening the clinch that every day I can show up and people are going to be accountable, people are going to do their jobs. I've put systems and trustworthy rock solid software in my business that works every single day without me needing to touch it. And I have learned that the wealthiest women, a lot of them are way wealthier than I am. They're not exhausted because they have support, they've rallied their horses, they have Collected their herd, their band, their team, and whether that's your spirit team, and you start more connecting with your angels and your guides and handing your control over to God or the goddess or whatever you call it. Maybe it's your life team. Do you have a therapist, a coach, a mentor? Are you part of a community of other women that are working on this too that can become your peer to peer, guides and coaches and team and herd? Are you bringing people into your home like a nanny or a house cleaner or a handyman or a dog walker? Are you bringing people into your business like an assistant or an operations manager or a chief operating officer or content writer? Are you letting people carry you? Truly ask yourself this. Because if the answer is no and only you know the answer, and I want you to get really honest with yourself if you're not letting people carry you, and I want you to look everywhere, because even if the answer is yes, I guarantee you're not being carried enough. This is the time to let your city burn. Let the walls come down, let people in. Because what you're carrying, whether it's a business, whether it's a team, whether it's a family, whether it's just your own feelings, you were really never meant to carry any of it alone. We grew up as little girls who needed people to take care of us from the second we were born. Why would that stop? Because you became independent, adult, responsible chick with bills to pay and you made it happen. No, there is still a deep part of you inside of you, inside of all of us that just wants to be held. And so what would change, what would change in your life if you actually allowed people to support you, to hold you versus you, white knuckling your way through anything? Imagine that as your reality. You let go of doing it by yourself everywhere. This is, I believe, the greatest upgrade.
