You wouldn't be listening to the Spiritual Hustler podcast. This podcast is dedicated to the blending and the cohesion. One of my favorite words of business, of revenue, of boss moves, and what it means to be a woman. In her power with the frequencies of the new earth rising, right, the spiritual magic, the medicine that we are, that we came into this planet at this time to share and to be for the world that needs awake remembered conscious women to step up and freaking lead. So thank you so much for being here. As always. Each and every week on Thursdays we drop an unlocking episode, which is a minisode, a bitty sode, maybe a little longer episode. We'll see. It's always just what's on my heart coming from the ether down through my crown chakra into my throat chakra, out to you guys, all connected to my mystical keychain that I keep in the locket inside my pocket in my heart. That has been a true tool for me to unlock the locks. The things that I have potentially had blocks around, have had shadows around, have had insecurities around, have had doubts around, self limiting beliefs around. And so we unlock self love, we unlock jealousy, we unlock worthiness, we unlock wealth, we unlock scarcity, we unlock Instagram. And today we're going to unlock YouTube just a little bit because hey, we're here now live on YouTube and we had to talk about it in service of all of you guys because here's the truth about YouTube, okay? This is why I put it on the unlocking series. I have had a lot of resistance and actually launched a YouTube like twice in 2014. Then I tried it again in like 2018 and it didn't go so well. And then I was like, yeah, YouTube's not for me. I'm just, you know, gonna hang out on the gram and LinkedIn and Facebook. And then a Facebook eventually faded. But I've always loved obviously social media. It's been a huge part of my life. But I just couldn't crack the code on YouTube. Much of it was just simply because I didn't have the time, I didn't have the team, I didn't have the resources. And I'm not saying that you have to have all of those things right now in order to effectively launch YouTube. I'm by no means an expert on it, but I wanted to come on and, and this isn't so much of a how to because I'm still a student myself, but more of an invitation as I have accepted my own invitation into YouTube. I self invited myself to YouTube as a platform for your presence to grow because your presence is an asset. You know, I really feel so much changed in the pandemic when we really moved everything virtual and all on zoom or teams. If you Work in, you know, a Microsoft world. Remember Skype, guys? But really, it became so common. It's everything to be online today, to show your face, to show up, to allow people to feel you both live and in video, as a way to really create connection with your community and to gain momentum as a brand. I love the space of podcasts, you guys. I've been doing a podcast for five years, built a beautiful, pretty big audience here and have really understood just the power of this medium, you know, And I really, again, think podcasts are the tip of the iceberg. I think we're going to look back in like 10, 15, 20 years, and podcasts, while it's like a novelty and still kind of cool and exciting and fresh to do it, like, podcasts are going to be literally how we consume most of our media, it's already kind of going in that direction. Just as a metaphorical example, Joe Rogan's podcast, the Joe rogan experience, gets 200 million downloads a month. Okay? And he has video as well. 200 million downloads monthly, while CNN, let's just put that news station out, like traditional mainstream media, is reaching about 80 million households a month. And so just that pure, little, tiny metaphorical example just shows you where the space of podcasts, which is now really exploding into video, mainly on YouTube, is going. And it's worth a conversation if you're here, if you're thinking about building a brand, growing your business, building a thought, leadership. This is obviously what I have done most of my career, built a personal branding agency. And I've always believed the power is in the people, right? We are not in a B2B space. We are not in a B2C space. Regardless of your industry or what you sell, we are in the H to H space, human to human. We buy based on emotion. I always say that personal brands have the edge over actual brands because brands like Coca Cola and Hyatt and Starbucks and BMW brands are trying to be like people. The point of a brand is to create an emotional affinity onto itself. A car doesn't have emotions. A coffee cup doesn't have emotions. A hotel doesn't have emotions. What does a person does? So personal brands have, in my opinion, always been the biggest asset you can build. But personal brands will always be the future. And when you're really thinking about how to express your brand, to create community, to create connection, to create empowerment with your consumers and clients, you gotta show up and talk and be seen, right? We all know this. And so podcasts moving into YouTube is just in my View makes perfect sense. And I really can't wait for you guys to come watch the spiritual Hustler over there. But let me just share that. Variety magazine shared in February, just last month, that YouTube now boasts over 1 billion billion monthly active podcast users, making it the most popular platform for podcasts. Not Apple, not Spotify, but YouTube. Okay? In the US at least, viewers are watching 400 million hours a month on not just their computers, but on living room devices, like streaming it onto their televisions in their homes. This just blew my mind. And also at the same time, not surprising. My husband and I, we have all the streaming services. We've got like, Hulu and Apple and Disney and Netflix. And we're. When we move into our new house in a few months, we're canceling all of those subscriptions and just getting a YouTube subscription. My whole family is on YouTube. All my friends are using YouTube for, like, television. So to have not just podcast, but any videos, an active presence, we just can't, like, not anymore. Right? And it's also really fun to share that. Emarketer, another really amazing platform, shared in June of just last year that YouTube has captured 43% of weekly podcast consumers who prefer video formats. Okay, you guys, y'all, that is nearly half 50% of consumers globally that want to see the person behind the microphone, that want to watch you, that want to watch me. And so, as thought leaders and leaders of communities, there's like a whole new role that we're playing in meeting our audience is where they are, making it easier for them to find us. I mean, that's the whole game, right? We're in the attention economy. Yes, but we've got to pierce through, get in front of them in the first place to capture their attention full stop. And for podcasters, YouTube is leading the pack. And I'm going to be honest, like, transparently, this has been a dream of mine. I've wanted to launch my YouTube for quite some time. So much of it has to do with bandwidth. I've launched a book, launched a business, have a team, running a school, traveling the world with my masterminds. You know, one thing at a time. Like, I had this vision to launch YouTube literally a year ago and change when I launched Jay Z. Com and this whole platform and rebranded the podcast in February of 2024. So, hey, I hope this gives you a little bit of like, a all things in perfect time. Like, I don't want this to incite any sort of fomo or like, I've got to get on it. Like, my time is too late. Trust me, it's not. It's really so exciting right now. I was just having a conversation with a really good friend of mine who has been in the online entrepreneurial space for, like, literally 15 years, and she told me that her entire business today and funnel, like all the women that she's brought into her world through her products and her email, lead magnets and social and whatnot are all fresh new faces in the last six months to 12 months that didn't know about her a year ago. No one is ever behind the eight ball. We all are doing things in perfect time. And there are 8 billion people on this planet. Half of us are women. We take up actually a little bit more than half the planet. It's 4 billion women. Maybe you serve men and women. 8 billion people. Do you know how abundant that is? Do you know how many eyeballs are available in the world to watch us, ears to hear us, hearts to feel us? None of us could serve that many people. Why are we even trying? So just clicking into your right people is really the aim I always want you to think about, but also in your right time. Okay? So I want you to think about how you consume your podcasts. I know for me, I love to have a video playing on my TV while I'm, you know, preparing my dinner or hanging out with my dogs. Like, I always love when my husband is, like, watching TV so there's like, background noise. I don't watch too much television on, like, regular media, but I do love my shows and we get hooked into our podcasts, right? Just like any show, think about your favorite shows that you love to binge. Podcasts are now bingeable. Podcast video content is now going to become bingeable. It's a whole new world. And whenever I can see, like, the faces of the hosts of the podcast that I love and can see their reactions and really understand their energy, I pay more attention to their content at large that I'm consuming everywhere because it's a full experience versus just listening to them. And so whether you're thinking about moving into YouTube, whether you have a podcast or not, there really isn't much of a leap to position yourself on YouTube no matter what. Yes, you want to look your best, you want to have your editing be sick. You want a great background. You might want to have a nice camera. But remember, this is still all a learning process for so many of us. And one of my favorite, favorite, favorite philosophies is progress over perfection. And honestly, I feel like I would be being really vulnerable here, you guys. I would be so much further along. I'd probably have a massive YouTube following by now if I didn't get so caught up in perfection and I didn't feel so defeated. Yes, I had limited time and resources and my business went in different directions. But like I always saw myself on YouTube and because my channels didn't pop and my videos didn't go viral, I let myself stop. And so you don't need a high budget and all the fancy equipment and the team to edit all the videos. You can just pop up your iPhone honestly these days and record and use free softwares like Imovie and Descript or even Riverside fm, which is platform that literally does the job of an editor for you and is extremely affordable. What you need is a figure it out attitude and belief in yourself. That's really the game with anything. But also particularly on this topic. So don't pressure yourself to compete with what's already out there or play someone else's game. Like, I really am here for all of us to create our own worlds. I was just having this conversation today with a really good friend. Like, we get so caught up with what everyone else is doing and how everyone else is scaling or what everyone else looks like or blah blah, blah, and there's like no you in the world. And when you really click out of trying to play someone else's game or step into someone's lane or go at someone else's pace or measure your success by someone else's fucked up, made up yardstick, that's when we get stuck in analysis paralysis and don't grow and stay small. So be yourself, show up, share what you want, whether it's the topic, the texture, the tone. Don't stress about it being perfect. Your community is here to grow with you in the process, just like you all have with me, I believe. And the more real you are and the more unique you are to yourself, the more your right people will go on that journey with you. So don't hold back for making this happen. If you want to put yourself out on YouTube, if you want to put yourself out on anything today out of fear that it's not enough of what someone else's is. I mean, I love my studio, for whatever it's worth. I have these beautiful cameras. I have this awesome setup. The feeling when you come and watch my show is, you know, it's. It's unique, it's beautiful, I love it. It's an expression of me. But I could go look on every other YouTuber's channels on the platform and like start to compare myself or, you know, say I should do it from my bedroom instead. Or maybe I should dim the lights or have this glowy background or maybe I should paint the wall. But it's like everyone is showing up so deeply unique to their own audiences. So the more that you really anchor in to your why, your mission, your message, and just show the fuck up with some good sound, ideally clear video and a really nice, authentic setup, you've got your starting point. Your content deserves to be seen. It will land with the right people, the right strategy of consistency, quality content. And in time, I'll most likely bring on a YouTube expert to talk all around optimization of videos and how to tag your videos and create channels. And that's. I am now a student right now myself. So I don't want to necessarily teach that in this episode, but I really want us to get excited about the future. And if I am talking to you, who was like me in 2014, in 2018, whether that's YouTube, that's Instagram, that's starting a business, that's leaving a company you no longer want to work for, moving to a dream city, breaking up with a shitty relationship, truly the heart and the essence of what I want you to unlock today through the veil of this show now going on YouTube, which in many ways is a leap of faith for me to just trust it, know that you have the answers inside of you, to follow your own truth and to not give up on yourself. And that is really what I hope we unlocked today. So I am sending you all so much love, so much gratitude. Thank you so much for being here today on this unlocking episode. And I will see you, yes, on the next episode if you're listening to this on podcast platforms such as Spotify or Apple, but I really can't wait to see you guys on YouTube. Bye, guys. Thank you.
