What do you say about this man...? We summarised Ben Smith as the most inspirational guest we have had on the podcast. This is not meant to insult any other guests but only to give some appreciation to Ben's story, journey and achievements. In 2016 Ben completed 401 Marathons in 401 days!! He did it in an effort to raise money and awareness for two anti-bullying charities. He's not finished yet. He is now preparing for his next challenge- The USA Challenge to again raise money for charities and the 401 foundation. In this Podcast Ben doesn't just talk about this though. He tells us of his childhood, his hardships, realising his sexuality and the difficulties that caused him, making life changing decisions and ultimately being an authentic version of himself which all led to what he is now doing. It was a pleasure and an honour to have Ben on the Sport 4 More Podcast and we hope you enjoy his story.

He also comes across well at explaining that he does not have all the answers and understands that not everyone responds the same way, but being open to learn, to see what works for you can lead to such positive change.

In this episode Jamie Thomson is joined by ex professional footballer and Fear Coach- Drewe Broughton. Drewe has no hesitation detailing his ups and downs through his sports career that saw him retired and at The Sporting Chance Clinic at 32. However, the reason Drewe is such a inspirational guest is because of his journey from that point. He impressively accepted his own vulnerabilities, owned his situation and learned from it. With his intellect he was also able to apply what he learned to other situations and more importantly other people, and now works with many other high performing individuals helping them understand some of the important lessons Drewe learned over the last 10 years. So inspirational, insightful and understanding of what is going on in many peoples minds when in times of difficulty.

Sarah Drage joins the Sport 4 More Podcast this week and opens up brilliantly the conversation around mental health and well-being, addresses some of the societal stigmas that unfortunately are still too common around this subject.Sarah is a wonderful person, whose kindness, empathy and compassion is clear for all to see and hear. She doesn't mind talking of her own journey and it's hardships and wants to help others see that despite the hardships there are always positives that can come out of tough situations. This is what led her to create Warrior Kind- a platform for making conversations around mental health more commonplace, and has helped her be recognised as a speaker on this subject, and has seen her confirmed as a TedX speaker in 2021.

Jamie and Dan are joined by 90's footballing Royalty- John Salako! In this episode Jamie, Dan and John Salako discuss not only John's amazing professional football career that saw him play at the top level for nearly 20 years, but also some of the unique insights and life lessons John was able to take away from being successful in such a tough environment. As every football fan would hope there are the journeys down memory lane to recollect some of John's fondest times in football, such as the FA Cup final and replay against Manchester Utd, and his time playing with the likes of Ian Wright, Mark Bright and Nigel Martin in what was the team that achieved Crystal Palace's highest ever league finish. As well as this though John really helps give some brilliant insight into his methods of using sport and exercise to benefit his mental health and well-being, and gives some invaluable advice and suggestions for anyone listening. We were struck at not only how insightful and understanding of the nature of our podcast John was, but also what a genuine, funny, and supportive individual he is. An all round top bloke that made for a great guest. We hope you enjoy the Sport 4 More Podcast- With John Salako.
