Welcome to the Thyroid and Hormone Fixer podcast. If you've been told everything is fine, but you're gaining weight despite doing all the right things, struggling with brain fog, mood swings, low libido, or feeling like a stranger in your own body, you're in the right place. I'm Dr. Amy the Thyroid Fixer. And I want you to know right now, I see you, I believe you, and you don't have to figure this out alone anymore. We're going to do this together. But I'm also not here to play nice with bad medicine or empty promises. This show is meant to disrupt the entire health space. We're going to challenge the status quo, connect all the dots other providers miss and give you real, practical, science backed tools you can use. Today, you're not going to get any more recycled biohacking advice, just truth, strategy and hope. Let's get you back to feeling like the badass human you're meant to be. Do you want to burn fat while just sitting around? Do you have extra weight to lose? Do you want less inflammation? Do you want to reduce your oxidative stress? Do you want to improve your lipid panel, maybe become more insulin sensitive? And once again burn fat while you're sitting there at rest at your desk or on your couch watching Netflix? Well, now you can. With the power of T2 that is in Thyroid Fixer. Now, Thyroid Fixer is not just for those with a thyroid problem. It's for anyone looking to lose body fat to improve their metabolism to have better energy. Thyroid Fixer actually works at your mitochondrial level, so it is stimulating your metabolism. It's also activating ATP, which gives you more energy, nice and steady through the day. Here's the other really cool thing that Thyroid Fixer does. It turns on a gene that prevents fat from accumulating all over your body. So that means, yeah, if you slip up and you have the Oreo cookie or the sweet potato fries, which are my two favorite, they're my downfalls. That is not going to put extra fat on your butt, your hips, your thighs and your abs. Oh, and your arms, you don't want those jiggly arms. So why don't you just improve your fat burning potential and actually turn on a gene that prevents fat from accumulating on your body with the power of thyroid fixer. So as a listener of the thyroid fixer podcast, your first time purchase, you can use the code listen 20L I s t n 2 0. We'll put that down in the show notes. And if you've already purchased it, but you just want to save a little something, something extra, then use the code listen 10L, I s t e n 10 and grab some thyroid fixer. Stock up today because it will help you burn extra body fat. And who doesn't want that? So if you've been listening to me for a while, or hey, even if you're new, you will soon learn that I am just brutally honest and very, very straightforward. So here goes. Are you ready for this? If you are struggling with your doctor, if you can't get your doctor to order the labs, much less even listen to you, about the fact that you now know that your thyroid needs T3, you now know that you have to look at the master gland because the thyroid literally determines what Whether or not you're going to lose weight or lose your hair or gain weight or have energy or even be able to use your brain on a day to day basis. That's the thyroid. It's not your gut, it's not your adrenals. You don't need another detox. You need to fix the master gland. And oh, by the way, those beautiful hormones, estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, yeah, they play in the same sandbox as the thyroid. So if you ignore those and you say, well, I'm just going to age great gracefully, then you're just going to get disease sooner. When your thyroid is low and your hormones are low, the bottom line is not only are you more set up for weight gain, constipation, fatigue, hair loss, brain fog, but you're also set up for a greater risk of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's cancer and heart disease. You can prevent all that and live an amazing life at the same time. So what are you exactly waiting for? I'm just curious, are you waiting for next year to feel better maybe two years from now? Why don't you just do something about it right now? We prescribe to all 50 states. We do it the right way. We are specialists, true, honest to God, functional medicine, specialists in thyroid and hormones. You don't just go to a functional medicine practitioner who's a jack of all trades, a masters of none is going to sprinkle adrenal fairy dust on you. You're going to be highly disappointed and you're going to be out of money. Go to Dr. Amy.com, click the big button at the top that says become a patient and just book a free call to find out what you can actually do to get better. We can do it for you. We do it every single day. We have helped tens of thousands of people live their best life ever and oh yeah, that's right, prevent diseases that will kill them. Don't wait another day. We don't know how long we have on this planet. We better take life by the reins and live it and live it to its fullest. And we can't do that when we're sick. So it is your choice. Continue being sick and be set up for disease or make a call to literally change your life. Now stop waiting. So two episodes ago, I talked all about my beauty routine. I was very open, very honest, very raw about everything that I have done, tried, failed at, loved, liked, didn't like, will never do again. So you want to go back and listen to that one because that is a deep, deep dive into all things from, from lasers to surgery to topicals, the whole kitten caboodle. This episode is going to blow your mind. However, this is where I talked to the expert that did the neogen plasma laser treatment on me and how it has literally changed my skin more than any other procedure I have ever done. I am literally taking all of the lasers, the halo, the moxy, the BBL, the erbium, yag, God, don't do CO2. For goodness sake, ladies, if you're thinking about it, you better keep listening. We're going to take them all and throw them in the trash. I'm not doing them ever again. Micro needling gone. RF frequency gone. I am only going to do the neogen plasma laser from here on out. I'm personally going to do it at least once a year. The results last two years. I'm going to do it once a year because that much blew me away. And. And on top of that, if you're like, yeah, yeah, yeah, my skin's fine. Okay, I don't know whose skin is fine, but if you're like, my skin is fine, I look 20 even though I'm 60. Good for you. All right. Are you losing your hair? Are you struggling with hair loss? Because My guest today, Dr. Steve, also has the only Orion hair therapy. It's not a laser. We're going to get into it, basically regrow your hair, back in six months treatment, the only one in the United States. So you're going to want to listen to this, especially if you are on the massive Struggle bus with your hair. Or guys, if you're thinking about going to Turkey to get your hair plugs in, for goodness sake, just keep listening to this episode. Ladies, if your guys are thinking about going to Turkey to get their hair plugs in, send them this episode. But you listen to the beginning part because that's where you are going to be so intrigued. You're going to be booking an appointment. I want to hear about your results. I say that at the end, I really do. If you do the Neogen plasma laser, I want to hear about your, your results. So I throw out our email at the end because I want you emailing in and telling me if you do it, if you do it, I want you telling me your results. I am personally thrilled and I go into all of this in the episode. I'm not going to dump it all in the intro. Go continue listening. But I wanted you to know what we're talking about today because it's so mind blowing. And let me tell you a little bit about our guest as well. Dr. Steve Abdac. He is just, I mean he's been doing this forever. He's the most kind hearted, real high integrity doctors that I have ever, ever met. His experience spans family medicine, emergency care and really as of late has dove deep into advanced anti aging therapies. You know, he really does. I mean this is in his bio. But yet it's so true that Dr. Steve is known for his uncommon blend of medical rigor and personal warmth. He served as a hospitalist, an emergency room physician, a medical director and a consultant to two professional sport teams. But his deepest passion is helping patients take control of their health before crisis occurs. And I would even say his deep passion is helping you feel like you again. I do that and we do that at the clinic with thyroid and hormones. He's doing that with anti aging treatments and it's just true. Oh, and his knowledge of peptides regenerative therapies off the charts. But what you really want to stay tuned for is this episode talking about, yes, something that is better than a facelift when it comes to tightening the skin and changing the appearance of your skin. So keep listening. So my friend comes up to me just a few days ago and says Amy, your skin looks amazing. And I said thank you. It's the Neogen laser that I had a month ago. Now this same friend saw me the very day that we did the Neogen plasma laser. She was like, oh, what'd you do? I was a little bit red, a little bit shiny. But now that she can see me a month later and she hasn't seen me in between. So she can see me almost well, like a month, five weeks later. Now she's seeing the full results of it and I'm not even at the full full results, but she's seeing me that, that month out where she can honestly go, okay, there's a difference in your skin. And she even said to me, listen, your skin wasn't bad before, but now I'm really seeing the changes. It literally looks like you wound the clock back five to ten years. So, Dr. Steve, that's why you're on the show today, because I really want to unpack all of these, these really cool advances in anti aging skin care, I. E. Lasers, hair care, I. E. Lasers that have recently come out that a lot of people don't know about that I really believe that they should because as I said in the Anti Aging Beauty episode that I did, and we'll link to that in the show notes, if you all haven't listened to it yet, is I've tried it all and I have the full rundown of pros and cons of different lasers that maybe you should be steering away from and also different lasers that you should be steering toward based on what we know with Korean skin care and not damaging or ablating the surface of the skin. So all of that to say, Dr. Steve, thank you so much for coming on the show so we can break this down with the professional that knows what he's talking about.
A
Thank you very much for having me on the show and I'm glad that you're happy with the results of the Neogen.
B
Oh yes, amazing. I mean, quite honestly, even that day that week, I was like, my skin has never looked better. And I know I'm just in the beginning stages, but I saw it and I felt it right away. So I know that's enticing to people. Let's actually back up and have that conversation. We're going to get into what the Neogen plasma laser is. Many of you, I guarantee you have not heard about it because there's very few in the country and very few providers who know what they're doing with this laser in their hands. So that's why we're talking about it, to really shed some light and to tell you, you know, here's, here's what you should be doing and looking at in choosing a provider as well. So let's back up to this whole concept of not necessarily ablating your skin. And I'm talking like the CO2 lasers that take off the surface. I've, I've been open about doing Erbium, YAG and Halo and you do get kind of damage, so to speak, of that surface layer of the skin when you do those ablative types of lasers, Right?
A
Correct. When you do those types of lasers, they're normally high heat, high energy. They come in, they burn off the top layer of skin and then you heal new skin and it gets like tighter skin. And people think that that's just the best thing that's out there and those are going to be the best results. But in reality, when you burn the top layer of your skin off, you're also burning fat pads and you're destroying collagen. So you're decreasing volume, not increasing volume.
B
And the fat is what makes us youthful. I mean, we're seeing this right now with GLP1s. Women are losing the fat in their face and they're literally looking like skeletor. They're looking 20 years older than they already are.
A
Absolutely. And I see it among my patients and I'm seeing it in the general population. In places where I go out. You could see that drawn out look that ages people 10, 15 years. Just because of the fat pad loss on their face.
B
Yeah, no, it's scary. It's scary. They're literally aging themselves. So you're saying that these ablative lasers, in addition to, you know, I question in my mind, should we actually be removing that protective barrier of our skin? But that aside, we can circle back to that point. These ablative lasers are also damaging the fat. Is it because they're penetrating so deeply they're heating it? They're basically melting the fat.
A
That is correct. It's just the heat and the depth of the penetration of their energy is melting the fat pads and causing denaturing, which is breaking down of collagen and elastin. These are vital proteins. They're like support pillars of your skin, keeping your skin up.
B
Right. And yeah, we don't want to lose that. Exactly. Because we're losing that anyways when we lose estrogen. So I'm really, really talking to my midlife ladies because basically that's who's going to be exploring these different treatments. And I know, you know, some women start earlier in their 20s and 30s, but I would say the majority 40s, 50s, when we start to see the facial changes, when we look in the mirror and we're like, oh my God, what's happening to my skin? That's really who's coming from these procedures. And that's who's going to notice that fat pad change. So predominantly when you get hit with one of these deeper penetrating lasers.
A
Correct. As you said, with aging, we lose fat pads, we lose collagen. When we're younger and you fall in our, like, teens and 20s, everything is great and glorious. Once we hit the 30s, things start to break down, and they continue to break down, and so we're never going to get them back. Until now. We can regenerate it, but just the normal high heat, high energy lasers, you're pounding all these proteins, you're melting all this fat, and you're never going to get that back, and you're accelerating your aging. So the thought that that's causing more youthful appearances, it's a fallacy. It's just like, it doesn't make sense.
B
Yeah, no, I agree with you. Okay, so now come back to what I just mentioned, the concept of that top layer. What should we really be doing with our skin? You know, should we be protecting that barrier? What's this whole concept around Korean skincare? Don't take off the surface.
A
So the. The pendulum has kind of swung, I think, from let's damage the skin and get new skin to let's make our existing skin more youthful, regenerate collagen, introduce vital proteins into it to make it a better barrier and a better skin layer than what we've already had. And so we want to build on what we have, not destroy. And so South Koreans, they really are getting it right. And that's the reason why they're like a decade ahead of us when it comes to skincare and aesthetic technology.
B
Yeah, thank you for explaining that, because I didn't explain that very well. The reason why I'm referring to Korean skincare, Korean skincare is because they are so much more advanced than us and really have been all along that I feel like just as we catch up, like you said, the rhetoric has been, well, ablate the surface, remove the dead skin, exfoliate, exfoliate, remove it. And now they're shifting. So now, basically, we over here in the Western world need to catch up with that whole concept of protect the protective barrier.
A
Correct. And it's going to take us a while because it's a whole paradigm shift in the way we do esthetics here in this country. You go to all these med spas and places like dermatology centers and surgery centers, and they're still in the old thought process of destroy and burn the skin, primarily because they spent so much damn money on this equipment. That they're stuck to it, they don't want to shift because financially they cannot.
B
Yeah, I was, I was just going to say that I'm like, well, they have a couple hundred thousand dollars of lasers in their practice right now that they need to pay off, so of course they're going to tell you. And it's funny, I was just in the car with my friend over the week and we were talking about skin care and she's like, oh, yep, I have my CO2 laser already booked. I'm going to do it. Like, no, no, stop. She's like, wait, what are you talking about? This is supposed to be the best treatment. So we got into this whole conversation of how the tide is turning, times are shifting, and the person that you saw that sold you that CO2 laser package basically needs to pay out their CO2 laser. They're not telling you the whole ins and outs, pros and cons of what can happen to your skin.
A
Correct. Like you said, it is a financial decision, not a clinical decision at this point, because you're doing what is more financially viable to the business versus what is best for the patient. And in all honesty, I'm not a med spa. We don't do anything that any med spa will do. Not a plastic surgeon's office. We are a true regenerative health clinic here at Dr. Steve Scottsdale and in the biomed center. We have hyperbaric chambers, total plasma exchange, stem cells. We have howkit machines. You've seen some of the things that we have and like, you're not going to find all those machines in one center anywhere in this country. And that's a fact. And so we truly pride ourselves in having things that are only regenerative and beneficial to function and appearance of the human body. So I've never had a laser because I didn't really believe in what they do until the Neogen came into my office. I was skeptical when that rep came in, I'm like, this guy is trying to sell me a quarter million dollar piece of machinery. I'm not buying it. He showed me some amazing pictures before and after of a person who won best non surgical facelift of the year. The machine itself won several awards and I was like, okay, maybe I'm a little bit more interested. Until of course, like I told you, I brought my mom in and we did her. And I saw those results after two months and I was blown away. And the great thing is these results, we replicate it from person to person to person.
B
Yeah, the photos of your mom are Literally, to die for. To die for. Do you happen to have them on your computer that I could let you share your screen and for the people on YouTube, they could actually see it?
A
I sure do.
B
Okay, so for anyone listening, you're gonna have to bounce over to YouTube and watch this because that way you'll be able to see, see this just mind blowing transformation right here. So how old your mom, Steve?
A
She is 80 years old.
B
Okay, we got an 80 year old. Now here's why this really blows me away. It's because we know that as we age, I mean, even if you asked a plastic surgeon doing a facelift, he would say, you know, it's probably better to do it, you know, back when you're like 50s, 60s, when the skin still has some elasticity, you're probably not going to get that massive dramatic change. When a person's in their 80s, the skin just doesn't have that spring anymore. We don't have the ability to recover like we used to. So here is a woman. And I mean, you can tell this isn't photo, this is straight up. This is Steve's mom. Like, you can tell she's older, but you can also see the dramatic changes in her face from just the neogen. Right. She had nothing else done between photo A and photo B.
A
Correct. This poor woman has never had anything, not even a facial prior to the ne.
B
Wow. Wow. Well, I'm glad that she let you play around with her and, and experiment on her because her results are simply mindblowing and like you said, they're replicable. So you've obviously seen the same change in people that are, you know, 40s, 50s, 60s, all of us that really want that shift now, albeit when you don't start off that you're not going to all of a sudden see yourself like, oh my gosh, I'm 20 years younger. But you're going to see a change. I mean, this is one of those lasers where you absolutely can say, yes, I have seen a change. Now, it helps to have pictures because when you look at yourself and because then your mom even say, like, well, honey, I don't think I changed that much until you showed her the side by side.
A
Yes. And the reason why, to your point, you're talking about earlier, about your journey, is you do the procedure and then within 90 to 110 days, ish, you get the full results. It's about 0.9% improvement per day. And when you look at yourself day after day after day after day, like you don't really notice the incremental change, she didn't notice it, but I was blown back when I saw it. And when you put those side by sides together, it's incredible. And like, I see this with all my patients. Some of my patients that come back and have told me that their friends have asked if they've had a nose job. It's because as we age and the collagen sinks, our noses fall and it expands. But when you rebuild it, it lifts it up and it makes it more thin and pointy. Same thing with my mom. So it is truly one of those remarkable lasers out there.
B
Oh, it's incredible. Okay, so let's get into the science of it. So break down what is this neogen plasma laser? What's this plasma component? What is it doing to our skin? And how does it work?
A
Sound the science? Basically, what. It's kind of a misnomer because we call it a laser. And most people just assume they hear the word laser. High heat, high energy, and very. A blade of the skin. Now, what makes this thing so different and really just amazing technology is because it uses nitrogen cold plasma, not CO2 or any other ablative gas. It's cold fusion, cold plasma, nitrogen. It doesn't burn your skin. It cannot burn your skin. It causes plasma, which is like a liquid layer under your skin from. From what is cellular, the air, to kind of activate certain cells called fibroblasts, which recreate collagen. Elastin get activated from the energy frequency, and then they get excited and they start to slowly release collagen over the next 90 to 100 days. So you get that full result.
B
Okay, so we're, we're stimulating, so the plasma layers under the skin, you stimulate that, and those little fiber blasts just continuously work for like three to four months to just produce, produce, produce more collagen. More collagen. And that's where you're actually getting the plumping without a filler. Look like you're. You're getting that plumping of your skin, almost like that reactivation of fat.
A
Correct, because the fibroblasts are cells that have always created collagen and elastin. But as we age, like other cells and other components, our body, they just don't function as you very well know. Like your thyroid, the master blend, it gets fatigued over time. Fibroblast, by your 30s, they've essentially gone to bed, and they're not really coming back unless you can specifically activate them, which. The nein kick.
B
Okay. Yeah, you got to wake them up. Yeah, they went to Bed. You got to wait. You got to kick them back up like you're not done yet. I need you for another like 40 years. Come on, let's go. So now how does. Because I know that we use different settings on my face versus neck decay. I also did my knees, I did my inner thigh. So anywhere you have loose skin, you can hit it with the Neogen plasma laser. We're not just talking your face, although the face is usually the first area that we treat as women, before we would start dropping down to our body. But you use different, I'll say different frequencies, different strengths, whatever. Because we had determined I had way more sun damage on my neck and decay. So you kind of had to hit that differently. So this does address sun damage as well. Even though we're not ablating surface.
A
Correct. So depending on what we are trying to do, it's goal oriented. We're trying to treat cystic acne, like active acne on your face, acne scars, surgical scars, C section scars, loose skin on your arms, loose skin on your face. Depending on what we want, we just adjust the jewels, which is like the energy level. Higher jewels for certain things, lower jewels like around the neck and the declutter. Because if it's directly on the bone, you don't want to hit it hard because it can be a little bit more uncomfortable. And the thinness layer of your skin doesn't really require much. So that's when it's really about finesse and experience and that's when it comes into play. Because if I'm trying to shed your skin, because some people look like beef jerky here in the desert in Arizona, you really want to get a little bit of a higher level to shed all that skin off. And they get nice new fresh skin with like elastin and collagen inside of it.
B
So you do get some flaking. We'll call it some shedding. Some flaking. That's not to be confused with like the ablation of a scan from a CO2 and. Or an erbium where you're literally oozing because you've removed the barrier. There's a huge. Can you break down the difference between the two?
A
So the difference is for the Neogen you get four flaking and maybe a little bit of shedding of the surface layer of dead skin. It just comes off. We're not intentionally burning and destroying the skin to shear it all off. We're not removing whole layers of skin so we can get new fresh layers back. And you know, we can discuss How I have this new paradigm shift that I've been talking about when I do lectures about how this is all wrong, like scientifically, it makes no sense.
B
Oh yeah, go into that. Have at it. I'm giving you the floor.
A
Yeah. So the true paradigm shift is the reason why I've decided to get the Neogen is because like I said earlier, we're a regenerative clinic and nothing has been regenerative out there. Now, when people think like a CO2, Morpheus, a moxie, any kind of IPL or any high energy, high intensity laser that shears off and burns your skin, if you think new baby skin is coming back, you are dead wrong. Because cellularly, every time cellular turnover occurs, they get worse and worse over time because your DNA replication isn't as good. Your telomeres, which have all the genetic information about how to make something get shorter over time. So if you think your skin that's going to be replaced is going to be better and younger than the skin it replaced, is wrong. You're going to get fresh, new, older skin cells because cellularly those cells have aged as opposed to the young skin you've just had. So replacing cells doesn't always mean you're going to get better cells. And just look at anyone who's elderly, look at their skin. How do they heal after they've been cut? They're not healing better, they're healing worse because cellularly it's aged. And so that's just the science behind it.
B
Right? Okay, so is it really possible to rewind the hands of time? Like, let's just take the Neogen. I mean, I plan on doing it. I already texted you and told you, like, I'll be down once every six to nine months to hit, because why not? Like, why not? I know the results last two years and we'll talk about the downtime and all that. For anyone listening, that's curious and what to expect. But why not hit it more often? Wouldn't that essentially like, turn back the clock or can we not really turn back the clock yet?
A
So on things like your skin, we're not turning back the clock. That's why we don't want to damage it. We want that young, healthier skin as opposed to the newer, unhealthier, older skin. Right. And so we want that skin to be maintained. All we're really doing is we're bringing back collagen and elastin. That's something that you have lost. And so it's not turning back the hands of time. We're Essentially slowing down aging as opposed to trying to reverse it. Right? We can't reverse it. All we can do is slow it down. Ask someone like Brian Johnson, who spends millions of dollars a year. The best he can do is slow down his aging, which is incredible. But it doesn't go back.
B
Yeah, yeah.
A
We're not.
B
We're not. We're not in reversal mode yet. Okay, that's helpful. That's helpful. I need to talk to every woman who's been told that your labs are normal while your body is screaming at you and rebelling against you. They can't afford the week off of work. And I guarantee you, if you have a Halo, Amoxy, CO2 and Erbium, you're taking time off work. I mean, I could easily show you my recovery pictures from the erbium. I had just under my eyes, and it was yellow and it was oozing, and I was red for a good two to three months. Now. I could cover that up with makeup, but the redness took a long time to go away. The raw skin was about a week to a week and a half. With the Neogen, it's. It's really not. So I kind of want to tell my experience, and then I'm going to hand it to you to break down why it was so easy. So on my face, I would say there was no downtime per se. You do have to wear a protective layer of, like, a heavier lotion barrier cream that protects your skin. So you're shiny. You're very shiny. You're very glowy for a couple of days. And, ladies, you can't wash your face, which really starts messing with your head. But it's okay. I'm going to tell you, you won't break out. Your skin actually loves you for it, for giving it a break from makeup, from giving it a break from washing it all the time and stripping that protective layer down. You know, it really does. It loves you during that time. So no real. I didn't look weird. I could go out. I could be on camera. I put on a little bit of mascara, called it a day, because my face looked great. It just looked a little bit glowy and shiny. Now, I know you hit it a little bit differently. Dr. Steve hit my neck and decollete differently because of the sun damage. That was definitely red. Like, little tiny red spots. That, again, not a big deal. I wouldn't say I'm going to stay inside because of it. I just wore, like, a higher neck, short sleeve, like, kind of turtleneck, and it was fine. It was totally fine. And really, I could put makeup on if I wanted to by day five, six. So you're easily covering up that redness, and that redness does start to fade away by day five. Six, seven. But facially, I had nothing. It looked amazing. So can you break down what you use? Because I know we used a special gel on my face, but we actually went higher energy there. We use a special gel on my face that protected it from having any downtime whatsoever.
A
So we have two ways of doing it. We have a traditional technique which is just. You just go ahead, numb the face, and then just start zapping the face and going on with the procedure that usually has four days of what you said, like social downtime. You can go out, you can do things, but to your point, you're going to look like a glazed donut. Because we're putting the survey ointment on your face the four days, and you cannot wash your face. After those four days, you can start to wash your face and at which point any blotchiness or kind of flakiness of the skin really comes off. By day seven, you're back to your normal schedule. You can put on makeup, you can go to the gym, you can do whatever you want. So it's really about one week of less than optimal appearance. But you're not disfigured and you don't look like anything traumatic has happened to your face. You're just kind of shiny and maybe blotchy on your neck. But that stuff disappears by. By day seven. And if we do the other technique, which is we put something called Synergy Gel, what this does is causes kind of like an energy barrier, so you don't get as much of that energy, so decreases downtime, but you do get that signal frequency to still stimulate your fibroblast, because we turn up that energy significantly just enough to get through that barrier and do the stimulation without doing any of that, like, surface heat that you normally would get.
B
And that made it so easy. I mean, just. And I get it that not. Don't. Don't everybody get excited because if you have the sun damage on your face, you can't use the Synergy gel because you want to hit that sun damage for sure. But I had done so many years of IPL and BBL and moxie that I had pretty much hit all the sun damage that had occurred in my youth. Yes, there's a little bit more. But I'll tell you what, that Synergy gel was key. If you really can't afford downtime and you don't have a ton of sun damage, you use that gel and you'll be totally fine. You'll be like, hey, what did I do? I just know I have a shiny face right now. It's fantastic.
A
Yeah, you've experienced it. It really makes your downtime minimal, maybe one to two days and then after that you're washing, doing everything like you normally would and other than your chest and declutter which needed that, that energy, you know, we do what we need to do for the best outcomes.
B
Definitely. And you're a perfect guide. I mean, the other thing I love about Dr. Steve is he's honest, he's not going to BS you and, and you know, I don't BS you either. So it's the perfect blend on the show right now. He's not going to tell you to do something that you don't need and he's not going to go along with. If you want to, you know, back off and oh, I don't want any downtime. He's going to give it to you like it is. Like, listen, you got some sun damage and I can't promise you're going to if you go the easy route and use the synergy gel. So that's what I love about you, Dr. Steve. You really meet people where they're at, especially if it is their first time experiencing it. So then I know again, I'm only at like the, I don't know, 40 day mark maybe. So I have a long ways to go and my collagen is still stimulating. So obviously I'll circle back and do a follow up once I hit that 90 to 110 day mark and really start to notice the difference. But as people are healing, do you ever get phone calls like is this doing anything? What's happening? Because people want to see results right away. Almost kind of like a filler or facelift. They just want the results right away.
A
Generally, as you've experienced. I always follow up with my patients for that first week because it's fundamentally important to remind them how to apply the aftercare and not to rub their face and you know, do certain things. But more importantly, it's to let them know that what they're assurancing is normal. And I also don't want to get those calls, which I do anyway, at about the two week mark I don't see anything, I don't notice anything. I'm like, I understand, I understand. However, just wait, just wait, you know, and, and it's hard because we're in a society where we want immediate gratification for everything we do and people have experienced fillers or whatnot and so they expect they get a procedure and boom, right away they have the outcome that they want, they'll get that outcome in 90 to 110 days.
B
Yeah, you just have to remind them. Oh, I listen, I have to do the same thing with our patients too. You know, I mean, we start them on a few hormones and the right thyroid treatment, they're like, so when am I going to lose weight? Like, I just started on this. Like, isn't it going to happen now? Like, no, you got to give it time. It kind of is that. Three to four months. Three to four months. Everybody, everybody would, no matter what you do, you need to wait three to four months. So thyroid hormones face, it's not Amazon, you're not going to get it tomorrow. So yeah, we, we got to be patient. So is there anyone that should not do the Neogen plasma? It seems pretty safe across the board.
A
So unlike other lasers, the neogen is the only one that can do Fitzpatrick scale one through six. So whether you're very, very light skinned to very, very dark, dark skin, we can do it across the board. And the only true kind of contraindication, obviously for someone is pregnant. We don't want to do anything to someone who's pregnant or someone who's got an active cancer because this is excitatory and we don't want to have excitatory cells near cancers. So those are really the only two contraindications. If someone has an active autoimmune disease like active lupus flare out in their face, we don't want to touch their face. Right. Because they're already having an autoimmune process which is hyperexcitatory to their immune system. We don't want it to be more excitatory. So those are really the contraindications. And there's a few of all the things that can possibly happen to a human, those are very little things that happen. However, this is FDA indicated to actually treat precancerous lesions like seborrheic keratosis and actinic keratosis. So it does treat precancerous lesions, but as long as it's not active cancer, we can treat it.
B
Okay, and you had mentioned autoimmune. So I do want to clarify because there's a lot of my listeners, obviously that have Hashimoto's and I get the question all the time, well, what about Botox or what about fillers? You know, people are having their breast implants removed because of the autoimmune component of reactivity to a foreign object, to a botulism toxin, to hyaluronic acid filler. But when you're saying autoimmune. You're talking about an active, like you said, active lupus. You're not talking about having Hashimoto's. In that case, this would actually be safer than the Botox, the fillers, the. The implants, because it's not like you're putting something foreign in. You're working with your own body to stimulate more of what it's already producing. Do I have that right?
A
Okay, you do have that right. And when I said autoimmune, I mean it. A specific autoimmune process at the site of the treatment. Right. So people, sometimes with lupus, they get these, what they call the malar rash that appears on their face. So you don't want to do it at that time. If they don't have an active autoimmune process going on, but they do have an autoimmune disorder, we could absolutely still treat them.
B
Okay, perfect. Yeah. I just wanted to clarify that because I know a lot of autoimmune peeps are. They're, they're scared. They're scared of Botox, they're scared of fillers. And, you know, that's a whole other conversation as to whether they should be or not. But when, when it's in their mind, I don't want them avoiding something that could be really beneficial just because we mentioned autoimmune. So I wanted to clarify. Wanted to clarify that.
A
Thank you.
B
Okay, so that's the Neogen plasma laser. Ladies, I say do it especially if you're. Well, I mean, really, it's for everyone. I was going to say especially if you're avoiding a facelift, but hell, I had a facelift. And facelifts don't treat the topical layer of your skin. You know, you're. You're pulling back the muscle, you're taking off excess skin, but you're still not treating that, you know, that creepy appearance. I had creepiness under my eyes. I would get up close in the mirror and go, what is actually happening here? Like, it's like there's these little cross stitches, lines in my face and my skin. So to treat the surface of your skin, your skin's appearance, the glow, that youthfulness that requires something other than a facelift. So whether you're avoiding a facelift or you already had one, and you're like, yeah, but my skin still isn't fantastic. This really is where the Neogen plasma laser comes in.
A
Correct. And where it really shines is around the eyes. Right. People get this hooded upper eyelid, and a lot of the creepiness and bags under the lower eyes and, and the dark discoloration, it treats it right away. And it's the only laser that you can actually use around the eye. Other ones, they're so ablative, you can't come near their eyelids. And so that's one of the big benefits. And the other thing is I have a patient I just saw yesterday and did her face. She had a facelift while I was doing the neogen on her face because, yeah, it stretched it out four or five years ago, but now it's still sinking. Right. So we're lifting it up and I'm also treating the little scars she had from her facelift around her, her head and her ears. Right. So it's we, it's multifaceted improvement for a patient's aesthetic outcome.
B
Yep, absolutely.
A
Absolutely.
B
I think it pairs beautifully with or without a facelift. If you're, if you're avoiding it and you're looking for ways to truly look more youthful and keep up your skin, then, then this is it. Let's just briefly touch on topicals because I want to bring that into the conversation because of course we're going to have some people go, well, I'll just use really good skin care on my skin. Now, I broke this down a little bit in the beauty episode, but since you're the expert, I want to have this conversation before we move on to the hair treatment that I want to talk about topicals for the skin. Like, sure, there's a bunch of different anti aging lines out there now. We have GHKCU and of course we always have the, the hero retinol that's been around for decades. But can you really get a shift in the appearance of your skin and that youthful appearance in the glow? Can you get the outcomes that we're seeing with the neogen with anything topical?
A
No, absolutely not. And I'll just break it down to you because I'm not even making this claim. If you look at these topicals, read what it says on any other bottles. May may not does help with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles or whatever it's supposed to do. So it may help, it may not. Right. Because once again, we'll go back to what is the skin? It is a barrier and it does very well at being a barrier. Right. So you put a bunch of stuff on the skin. Certain things would be absorbed only to a certain level. Right. Like it doesn't go deep down into the dermis, just kind of stays at the epidermal layer and yeah, it hyper hydrates it so it plumps it up, making these fine lines look less because you've added essentially moisture to them. You're never going to get a rebuild of any of that collagen matrix or elastin. Only so far. Neogen can do it by stimulating those fibroblastic cells.
B
Yeah. And to your point, yeah, you might get a temporary plumping, like a couple hours. Sure, your, your skin doesn't look like it's starving ring for water and all sucked in anymore, but again, it's temporary. You're just temporarily plumping it. You're not actually treating the quality of your skin long term with the topicals
A
as it says, may help with the appearance and the appearance. So it tells you if it does help, it's only going to be with the visible appearance from the outside. It doesn't actually help with the structural integrity of your skin. And so if you only want to put a coat of paint on a house that's collapsing and that house is going to look good for maybe 20 to 30 minutes, that's fine. But you probably need to do some work on the house.
B
Yeah. Because it's still collapsing. Yeah, exactly, exactly. I love that analogy. Okay, I want to move on to the Orion fusion hair therapy now. So I was in with you and you took me on the core of the office. And just as Dr. Steve says, they have everything in there from your HBOT to which you could always pop into after your neogen laser if you want to kick up the healing process a little bit. They have everything regenerative in there. And he showed me this amazing, I've never heard of this therapy whatsoever before, this amazing treatment that is actually growing people's hair back. And I asked you specifically. See I'm like, you have to have the follicle, right? Like you can't be like, like shiny bald. You know where a guy comes in after having no hair for 20 years and he has a head of hair. You have to have the follicle. But this is amazing for my menopausal ladies that their hair starting to thin. They're getting these little bald patches. They're getting the classic receding hairline. And not necessarily from testosterone. It's just, it's just what happens as you age, ladies. You start to go from a forehead to a five head to a six head. I mean, it's just harsh reality. So tell me about this. Tell my audience, because I got a chance to see it. Tell my audience about this Orion Fusion.
A
So this piece of equipment, it's fortunately, I'm the only one in the United States who has the Orion fusion AFD hair treatments. It comes from South Korea. It's two parts, right? The first part is the part where we actually inspect your face and head and we do a 360 degree evaluation of the scalp. And we have a micro camera where we look at your scalp and see the follicles. And it tells us the width and diameter of your hair, the health of your follicles, how much hair you have. It gives us a great amount of information. Now we use that to scan you at your baseline. And then every two weeks we'll do the same thing. And every time you come in for treatment, it uses argon gas, which is an inert gas. And when you put it on your skin, you don't feel anything. It feels just like air is blowing on you. No downtime at all. There's, there's nothing to it except it opens up and denatures this barrier on your skin, which allows us to introduce things like exosomes and a ghk, CU and elastin molecules into the scalp. And then we add a little bit more treatment of this argon gas to fuse it back in. And it's the only treatment out there that is both regenerative and that you grow new hair from these follicles and restorative and that your existing hair and follicles become healthier. At the present time, half of my current male patients are patients who have gone to Turkey and had these hair transplants and are now wondering like, why the hell my hair falling out? Because what they don't tell you in Turkey is you're having about a 50% rejection rate in about three years because they put good plants from the back of your head into bad soil on the top of your scalp. They didn't do anything to the fundamental reason as why you're losing your hair to begin with.
B
Okay, yeah, no, that makes sense. And, and I, I mean, we've all seen those guys. We've all, we've all. Sorry guys. All you guys that go over to Turkey and you get these weird like hair transplant things going on. It's just, it doesn't look so good.
A
Hey, I'll be honest. About a year ago I was going to be one of these guys. Like I was losing my hair. I'm on testosterone, then I'm Middle Eastern. So I had that typical Middle Eastern hair pattern bondage. My scalp was looking like an M. And then I got this machine and I've been treating myself for it, and I'm my hair's back, you know, and I could show you before and after pictures as I have of these, these women and men. Incredible, incredible results. And to my men, they're older, all their hair is white. All the new hair that's coming back is black. It's dark hair because it's healthy hair that's not been oxidized by aging follicles.
B
Oh, you did show me those pictures. They're mind blowing. It's absolutely amazing. Okay, so how many treatments have you had? How many does it actually take to truly see a significant result of hair growth?
A
So the protocol requires 12 treatments spaced two weeks apart. So it's going to, it's a 24 week cycle that you're going to be on this and you come in every two weeks, we scan you and treat you, scan you and treat you. You don't really expect much results for the first two months. If anything, by around the two month mark, you're going to experience accelerated shedding. And this is normally when I get a call from my patients, like, I thought I was growing my hair. What the hell's going on? Why is my hair falling out? My secret full of hair. I'm like, don't stress. Your hair is. What's happening is your follicles are literally extruding dead and weak hair and they're going to grow back newer, healthier hair. And that's when people really start to see the difference. About the three month mark, they're like, oh, I'm getting all this new hair and you can see their hairline is coming back and it's starting to fill in by month six that they just couldn't be happier. And we track it and we're able to put side by side the first treatment and when now when they're coming in with their 12th, what the difference is? And it's always incredible.
B
That's amazing. That's absolutely amazing. So do you get people from outside of Arizona flying in for this? Because I know it might be a little bit of a challenge coming in once every two weeks. If someone had to stretch it out because they really wanted to use this machine with you, could they? What's the treatment protocol?
A
The treatment protocol is really to come every two weeks. Right. And from the initial consultation and I'll talk to a patient and really emphasize the importance of staying on protocol. And you know, it's not a particularly cheap process and it's time intensive. You need to give yourself those 24 weeks. And if a patient tells me, Dr. Steve, I don't know if I can make it. I will return their money and tell them, go find something else because I'd rather not take your money and then you'll be upset and not get the results you're looking for. So I have patients who do fly in every two weeks. I know not everyone has a private jet, but, you know, these people do. So it is possible, but more locally, like, if you can make it and do this process, they're going to be very, very happy with the result.
B
Well, and I would say anyone like around, like from Texas to California, Colorado, y' all got JSX out there where you can jump on basically what's like a private charter jet and be there in an hour. I mean, I'm so jealous of all y' all on the west coast with JSX Airlines. It's incredible. So that would make it easier.
A
Absolutely. And, and as a matter of fact, JSX lands at Scottsdale airport, and Scottsdale airport is less than a mile and a half from this office. So like I said, patients literally will fly in, they'll drive in, get the treatment, drive back out and fly out.
B
Yeah, yeah, exactly. You technically could do this all in the same day, which is beautiful. But now for the neogen plasma, I say just, you know, plan on flying in, you stay a day, hit up Scottsdale. It's a beautiful area anyways. Or you can fly in, fly out, whatever. I mean, it's really only an an hour, two hour treatment. It's not long at all, depending on how many areas you're hitting. And that's what I plan on doing. Like I said, once every six to nine months. I'm coming, we're hitting, hitting my skin with the neogen and I'm going to anti age for the rest of my life. Because that's the plan anyways. I mean, that's always been the plan, hasn't it? Okay, so back to Orion, anyone? What are the contraindications of this very unique hair treatment? Laser. Is it a laser? Should I call it a laser?
A
And that's the thing, people, not really the laser because it uses like this argon gas in a special kind of like, wavelength. So it's incredible because there are no contraindications. Even if you're pregnant, you could still get it done.
B
Okay.
A
The whole process takes from scanning to treatment less than 40 minutes.
B
Oh, that's so easy. Oh my goodness, that's so easy. Okay, and can women like get their hair done after they can still color or they can still all that stuff.
A
The only thing is you're not supposed to wash your hair for 24 hours after the treatment because we don't want you to move on to, you can shower, but just no shampoo and no product for 24 hours. After that you're free to do whatever you want with your hair.
B
That's easy. Yes, we can all go 24 hours without washing our hair. So easy breezy. Okay. Beautiful. Is there anything that I miss, Dr. Steve? I really wanted to highlight those two, those two pieces of equipment. But if there's anything else you want to mention that you just love doing in the clinic, by all means, like throw it out there. But those are the ones that I really wanted to shine a thumbnail spotlight on.
A
So I say this, right? Like, of all the things we're trying to do for anti aging and longevity, right? It's good. Like a neogen, you get new collagen and elastin and you get like a non surgical facelift that doesn't change your appearance. An Orion fusion with an ASD device. Yes, you get great hair. But fundamentally what are we doing cellularly, right? And this is why we try to do completely encompassing treatment programs and protocols for our patients. So what are your hormones like? Like you, what's your thyroid doing? How are testosterone or estrogen progesterone? And we like for patients to take quality peptides, right? And when I go to talk to patients on these conferences and they're talking to me, oh, Dr. Steve, what's the best peptide I should take or this and that? I tell them the first question isn't what peptide you should take is where are you getting your peptides, right? Are they being compounded? Are they being imported, Are they coming in from another country? Like that's really more troubling to me because these are things you're injecting yourself with, right? And so get good quality peptides. And of all the peptides, the starter, starter that anyone should really be on is nad.
B
Okay, this is the first. Now I thought you were going to say bpc, but nad. Okay, I like this. And to your point, if you're getting your NAD from a black market research peptide site, it's not going to be nad. I just want to throw that out there. We know that now. Okay, so let's say they're actually getting NAD from a compounding pharmacy or getting it from you. Tell me more. Why are we starting there with nad?
A
Because NAD is a lot of research and science behind the fact that if you look at your telomeres like if someone's jeans, it's like that X with those long arms, those long arms on that X, those are telomeres. As you age, those telomeres get shorter and shorter. And on those telomeres, it has all the genetic information. It's your blueprint to make you perfect. If you're losing information on this blueprint, you're being less than perfect. And the more that disappears, the worse you are. So as we age, we cannot make healthier skin, we can't make better hair. We can't do this, we can't do that, because the telomere information is gone. NAD statistically has been proven to show that it not only keeps your telomeres long, it helps decreases the ability of it to shrink. But in some cases, it actually elongates your telomeres, so it brings back good genetic information. So short term you get improvement. But we're playing the long game here for longevity. And that's when it really comes in.
B
Now, is that something that should be used ongoing? Like this isn't like a short stint peptide where you use it and go off. You.
A
You.
B
You're pretty much using it ongoing?
A
Yes. And you know, patients like Dr. Steve, how long do I have to be on NAD? And I'll tell them, how long do you want to feel good for? Right. I mean, you never have to cycle off of it because your body's supposed to naturally produce it. However it stops producing it. And quantity. After 29, 30 years old, NAD starts to drop quickly. And so we're just replacing something that your body doesn't have and it needs for DNA replication.
B
Okay, so that's the same answer I give the people that are like, do I have to be on hormones the rest of your life? My life? I'm like, have you figured out how to age in reverse yet? Because as soon as you do, you can go off your hormones. But I'm pretty sure that no one's figured that out yet. So same. Yes, same answer. I get that, I get that. All right, well, since I'm picking your brain and before I let you go, what's your second favorite peptide? So people are on nad, and then where do we go? Because to your point, oh, I see so many people just, they'll be using peptides. They don't even know what they do. They're like, I don't know why I'm on this. I'm like, shouldn't you. If you're injecting something into your body, shouldn't you know the why? So, yeah, what's the second one? That's your favorite?
A
The second one? Honestly, I, I think, like, I'll say most people, especially if they're a little older, they have lumps and bumps, they have soft tissue injury, they need some repair, like a good BPC stack with, with something like KPV, MGF, like muscle growth factor TB500. We have a recovery blend. All these people are taking the BPC glow because of the GHKCU in it, but it's not as great as, you know, you think. Use that BPC for tissue healing and use the other compounds in it really to stimulate your immune system and to really make your muscles better too. Because muscle strength, grip strength, that's what's going to prove your longevity in life as well.
B
Okay. All right, that's helpful. Yeah, I know, I know a lot of people that are just throwing on the glow stack willy nilly, but they don't even know what they should be looking for or how to properly use it. So I love that you even get into this with your patients. If they want to sit down and pick your brain about which peptide stacks they should be using, they can get that from you. And they can also get reputable peptides from you as well, right?
A
Absolutely. We get it manufactured, not compounded. So it is what it says it is. At the dose it is. You get it all. And more importantly, I offer free complimentary consultations to patients because I truly believe, even if they don't come to me for service, if they take that good information and keep it in their life and take it elsewhere, I've already benefited that patient.
B
I just love you. And this is what I love about Dr. Steve too. You know, I. I'm a firm believer in working with people who live and operate in high integrity. And I hope you all can pick up on the fact that he's here to help, he's here to educate. Like, we're not begging for your business here. We're telling you what the options are. And I can truly see your heart, Dr. Steve. I saw it when I actually, on our first consultation, when we just did the phone consultation, the video consultation, I was like, he's my guy. Like, we clicked exactly immediately. You're talking to me like a normal human being. And you were honest and upfront, laid everything out and I just love that. So I hope the audience can see here and feel that from you as well, because that's as important. Like we talked about earlier, choosing a provider that is as important as what laser or what treatment you're actually doing on yourself.
A
Yeah. Thank you very much. And I appreciate the kindness and you know, I like to be open and honest with my patients and I like to meet them where they're at. And I'm not trying to be a doctor patient relationship where I'm dictating anything. I'm just like a consultant, like a lawyer or an accountant. I give you the best information out there. You take it, you take it, you don't take it, you get audited or go to jail. That's on you. Right. And so I give you the best information for your health and I hope that, you know, you take a little bit of it and do your own research because you should always be your best health advocate. And you know, if you'll find out, oh, that Dr. Steve guy, he was telling me the truth, then, you know, it's reliable information. You can go ahead and act on it.
B
Yes, yes, I absolutely love that and I love the fact that you are so generous. You're giving my audience who wants, if they want to come in, they want to try the Neogen plasma, they want to try the Orion. So you're giving them $250 off the neogen treatment, which by the way, ladies, like this is an affordable treatment too. Like get it out of your mind that it's going to be 10, $20,000. I mean, I guess if you did, you know, head to toe, you might be, you might be hitting those higher marks. But, but if you're going in doing face net decollete, it is just so affordable, I'm going to encourage you to do a consult. So affordable. So 250 off the Neogen skin tightening and then you're giving 500 off the Orion hair treatment. You just got to use the code Dr. Amy. When you're in there, when you're talking to Steve, when you're talking, when you're setting up your appointment, just let them know that you heard us on the podcast. Amazing, amazing well, thank you so much for your time today. Thank you for making my skin beautiful. We'll see you again in a couple of months as I dropped back down there. But anyone who tries this out, I want to hear from you too. So if you go down to Dr. Steve, if you have the neogen done, if you have the Orion done, I want you to email me@info Dr. Amy.com because I want to hear your experience with these treatments. Because quite honestly, I mean, the neogen, which I firsthand experienced blew me away, continuously blows me away. And of course I'll do a follow up when I hit that 90 day mark. But Dr. Steve, thank you so much for your time today and for all that you do. And thanks for being one of the pioneers of this laser and bringing it to the US because like I said in the beginning, there are very few. There is you.

Thank you so much. I mean, it's truly my honor and privilege to be on your show and talk to your patients and really just give as much information as I can. And I appreciate you coming in and trusting me with your money maker and I'm glad I can make it look more youthful and healthier.

Thank you so much and thank you everyone for listening. Share this with a woman that you know, you know, might be struggling with her skin a little bit. You know, she's talked to you about getting the face lift, she's talked to you about fillers. Maybe she's done too many fillers. We all know people like that, that you, you got to be like, honey, let's just, let's treat the surface of your skin. Stop putting stuff underneath the skin. Yeah, we all know them. So share this with your ladies. Share this with the guys that care about their parents too, because this truly is, I believe, the next generation of anti aging non surgical treatments that we can do that actually give us results, that actually give us results and protect that barrier of our skin. So once again, thank you so much for listening. Till next time. The information shared on the Thyroid Fixer podcast is intended solely for informational and educational purposes. Episode 642: This Changed My Skin More Than My Facelift + The Hair Treatment That Actually Works
Host: Dr. Amie Hornaman
Guest: Dr. Steve Abdac
Date: June 26, 2026
This episode delves into revolutionary advances in anti-aging skincare and hair restoration, focusing specifically on the Neogen Plasma Laser—touted as a game-changer for skin rejuvenation—and the Orion Fusion hair therapy, a non-invasive solution for hair loss. Host Dr. Amie Hornaman shares her personal experience with these treatments, joined by Dr. Steve Abdac, a specialist in regenerative medicine and advanced anti-aging therapies. Together, they challenge conventional approaches, discuss the science behind these innovations, compare them to widely used but potentially damaging treatments, and offer practical advice for those seeking genuine results.
“I'm not doing them ever again. Micro needling gone. RF frequency gone. I am only going to do the neogen plasma laser from here on out.” (09:44)
"When you burn the top layer of your skin off, you're also burning fat pads and you're destroying collagen ... you're decreasing volume, not increasing volume." (13:20–13:49)
“Women are losing the fat in their face and they're literally looking like skeletor.” (13:49–14:02)
“It doesn't burn your skin. It cannot burn your skin. It causes plasma ... to activate certain cells called fibroblasts, which recreate collagen.” (23:20–24:15)
“You get that full result in about 90 to 110 days ... you don't really notice the incremental change, but the after photo is incredible.” (22:17–23:06)
“This poor woman has never had anything, not even a facial prior to the Neogen ... I was blown away.” (21:26–21:31)
“The only one that can do Fitzpatrick scale one through six ... the only true contraindication ... is pregnancy or active cancer.” (40:35–41:48)
“You're going to look like a glazed donut ... by day seven, you're back to your normal schedule.” (35:36–37:02)
“No, absolutely not ... may help with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles ... you're never going to get a rebuild of any of that collagen matrix or elastin.” (45:58–46:52)
“If you only want to put a coat of paint on a house that's collapsing ... you probably need to do some work on the house.” (47:11)
“You don't really expect much results for the first two months ... about the three month mark, they're like, oh, I'm getting all this new hair.” (51:56–52:59)
“NAD...has been proven to show that it not only keeps your telomeres long, it helps decrease shrinkage ... but in some cases, elongates your telomeres.” (58:19–59:19)
“It doesn't burn your skin. It cannot burn your skin.” – Dr. Steve, (00:00, 23:20)
“South Koreans ... are a decade ahead of us when it comes to skincare and aesthetic technology.” – Dr. Steve, (16:28)
“Nothing has been regenerative out there ... until the Neogen came into my office.” – Dr. Steve, (18:36)
“Your collagen is still stimulating ... 90 to 110 day mark is where you'll start to notice the difference.” – Dr. Steve, (39:06)
“We give you the best information ... you should always be your best health advocate.” – Dr. Steve, (62:05–63:41)
If you’re frustrated by “fad” interventions that deliver underwhelming results—or are concerned by hair thinning or stubborn skin aging—this episode offers credible, state-of-the-art alternatives.
